- 0:02Speaker 1: Y'all know what time of y'all don't know y'all back
- 0:09Speaker 1: a suit on, looking back to back down, giving them
- 0:13Speaker 1: more like American buck things and its cubs not doing
- 0:19Speaker 1: me true good at Steve hard to move together for
- 0:26Speaker 1: Steve hard to please Bobby, I don't join joining me.
- 0:58Speaker 1: You gotta use turning them. You gotta turn to turn
- 1:41Speaker 1: them out. Turn you haven't got to turn them out,
- 1:45Speaker 1: Then turn the water the water. Come, come on your
- 1:58Speaker 1: baby it uh huh. I shall will a good morning everybody.
- 2:05Speaker 1: You are listening to the voice, come on dig me now,
- 2:08Speaker 1: one and all is Steve Harvey got a radio show. Okay,
- 2:12Speaker 1: today is simple. I want to tell you. I want
- 2:18Speaker 1: to just talk to you about effort today. Just about effort.
- 2:25Speaker 1: You know, it's it's it's it's a word that people
- 2:27Speaker 1: use to describe sometimes trying. But what I found out
- 2:33Speaker 1: about trying is trying is just a noble way of
- 2:37Speaker 1: saying you didn't get it done. I tried when and
- 2:43Speaker 1: then everybody go, well, he tried, that was the best.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Well that's that's not exactly true though that that's that's
- 2:51Speaker 1: not exactly true. You are and I want to talk
- 2:54Speaker 1: to you about that because I don't want you to
- 2:57Speaker 1: be one of the people who just tried. See trying,
- 3:03Speaker 1: I mean, I gotta tell you to attempt something. You're
- 3:06Speaker 1: gonna have to first try. But I want you to
- 3:09Speaker 1: change your mindset from trying to getting it done. See,
- 3:15Speaker 1: that's a big difference. I'm really more apt to listen
- 3:18Speaker 1: to the person that says to me, I'm gonna get
- 3:21Speaker 1: it done. I'm gonna try. What try does is it
- 3:25Speaker 1: allows you to fail. It's the person that has the
- 3:28Speaker 1: mindset that I'm gonna get it done is the person
- 3:31Speaker 1: who changes the complexion of things. I'm gonna get it done.
- 3:35Speaker 1: It's very different than I'm gonna try. You know. Look, man,
- 3:39Speaker 1: I know this sounds a little harsh, but you gotta
- 3:43Speaker 1: stop feeding yourself these little old wise sayings that ain't
- 3:48Speaker 1: It was a valiant tribe. Hey man, You talk to
- 3:52Speaker 1: anybody that took second place in the super Bowl and
- 3:55Speaker 1: see how they feel about their valiant try. The only
- 3:59Speaker 1: way to gain God's real blessings is you have to
- 4:05Speaker 1: try something. Stevie backpedaling, Now, listen to me close. You
- 4:13Speaker 1: have to put forth an effort to allow God to
- 4:20Speaker 1: put his finger on something to bless on your behalf.
- 4:25Speaker 1: You must start to attempt now insane getting it done,
- 4:30Speaker 1: and I'm gonna try. That's a different of two different
- 4:33Speaker 1: faiths to me that I'm just talking about me. Now,
- 4:37Speaker 1: you may be different, so I can't. I can't say
- 4:40Speaker 1: this about you, but I can't say this about me.
- 4:44Speaker 1: If I say I'm gonna get it done, I have
- 4:48Speaker 1: a lot of faith in it. I am going to
- 4:52Speaker 1: get it done because I just don't see failure as
- 4:55Speaker 1: an option. A lot of times now, if somebody says
- 4:59Speaker 1: to me, like the Olympic team invited me out to
- 5:02Speaker 1: curl one day, which is throw these stones on the ice.
- 5:06Speaker 1: If you're not familiar with it's very simple, and so
- 5:09Speaker 1: I said, man, I'd like to give that a try.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I went in full well knowing I may not come
- 5:19Speaker 1: away from this little curling lesson as a person who
- 5:25Speaker 1: could make the Olympic team. I just wanted to try
- 5:27Speaker 1: it because I thought it looked cool and I always
- 5:29Speaker 1: wanted to get it done. Well. I failed twice. I
- 5:33Speaker 1: threw a stone completely into the other lane. I lost
- 5:37Speaker 1: that little ice shoe it shot out under me. But
- 5:41Speaker 1: you know what, I kept trying though. I kept trying
- 5:45Speaker 1: until I got four of them stones in that circle
- 5:48Speaker 1: right where I aim. But now had I give it
- 5:51Speaker 1: up after I failed, after I threw that stone in
- 5:56Speaker 1: the other lane, after I shot my shoe down all
- 5:59Speaker 1: the way to them side, the little ice shoe they
- 6:01Speaker 1: give you. I never would did it. But because I
- 6:04Speaker 1: was trying. Something got me together a little bit because
- 6:09Speaker 1: of my effort, and it caused me not to fall
- 6:12Speaker 1: the next time, not to throw it in the other lane,
- 6:14Speaker 1: not to shoot my shoe to the back of the wall.
- 6:18Speaker 1: All of a sudden, my trying became something. Now had
- 6:22Speaker 1: I stayed out there and it wasn't so cold, and
- 6:25Speaker 1: I went back week after week after week after week.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I promise you I could get it done. I could
- 6:33Speaker 1: at least know how to compete in a game of curling.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Might not be the best. I might not win the championship,
- 6:41Speaker 1: but I could have got it done to the point
- 6:43Speaker 1: where I could have competed in the game of curling.
- 6:45Speaker 1: So sometimes if you're scared to say I'm gonna get
- 6:49Speaker 1: it done, just go out there and get started. You know,
- 6:53Speaker 1: learn from every attempt that you make. See, don't quit
- 6:57Speaker 1: writing yourself off as a failure every time something. Don't
- 7:00Speaker 1: go right, And when I failed on that ice, I
- 7:02Speaker 1: could have said, Man, I can't curl, but hold up, man,
- 7:05Speaker 1: I'm watching four other women out here curl for other
- 7:07Speaker 1: dudes out here curling, little kids out here curling. Hold up, Pardner,
- 7:11Speaker 1: you know, man. So I learned when I threw that
- 7:14Speaker 1: stone on the other ice, when I when I fail,
- 7:17Speaker 1: when when my shoe shot off, I learned from every
- 7:20Speaker 1: attempt a little bit more about it. And then I
- 7:25Speaker 1: said to myself one point time, man, I'm gonna get
- 7:28Speaker 1: this stone in that circle. I'm gonna get this stone
- 7:32Speaker 1: in this circle. And guess what I got it done.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Now what you're saying to me, Steve, I'm saying to
- 7:39Speaker 1: you that you gotta get started, That you gotta put
- 7:43Speaker 1: forth an effort. Give God something to bless. Oh God,
- 7:46Speaker 1: bless me, Oh God, bless me. Bless you? What? Bless you? Where?
- 7:50Speaker 1: Bless you? How? Stop basing your results on what you're thinking.
- 7:55Speaker 1: You gotta think higher. You get God in your life, man,
- 7:58Speaker 1: He allows you to think bigger, better more. I'm sitting
- 8:04Speaker 1: up in my debt. I came up with a plan
- 8:06Speaker 1: to get out of debt in five years. I came
- 8:08Speaker 1: up with this plan, right, I was sitting up and
- 8:10Speaker 1: I was tripping on it. Now, I said, wait a minute, man,
- 8:13Speaker 1: hold up, this is what I came up with. I said.
- 8:16Speaker 1: God created heaven and earth, all of it, the mountains,
- 8:23Speaker 1: the sky, the valleys, the oceans, trees, the birds, the
- 8:29Speaker 1: Indian Ocean, all of it, made all of it in
- 8:32Speaker 1: six days, and then he rested on the seventh. So
- 8:38Speaker 1: why am I taking to God the five year plan?
- 8:43Speaker 1: If he can create heaven and earth in six days,
- 8:47Speaker 1: why am I walking in there talking about helped me
- 8:49Speaker 1: in five years? How is it gonna take God five
- 8:54Speaker 1: years to getting me out of debt? And he made
- 8:57Speaker 1: heaven and Earth in six days? Due the malfhill, Man,
- 9:01Speaker 1: I ain't that big. You ain't that big. You ain't
- 9:05Speaker 1: in that much trouble. I ain't in that much trouble. See,
- 9:08Speaker 1: God got a way of showing you some things, man,
- 9:11Speaker 1: but it's gonna take some faith, and faith gonna take
- 9:13Speaker 1: some effort on your part. Man, Get out and do something. Man,
- 9:17Speaker 1: you God will bless you a little bit and give
- 9:20Speaker 1: you a little bit more courage. And then all them
- 9:22Speaker 1: attempts you making is gonna and all this So I'll
- 9:24Speaker 1: try you know what that turn into I'm gonna get
- 9:27Speaker 1: it done. And at the end of the day, that's
- 9:29Speaker 1: what you have to do. Because trying to pay your
- 9:32Speaker 1: rent and not paying your rent, it's two different things.
- 9:35Speaker 1: You can try to play or pay your rent, or
- 9:38Speaker 1: you can get it done. Now, how long you think
- 9:40Speaker 1: you're gonna stay in that house trying. You got to
- 9:43Speaker 1: go with the mindset of getting it done. And if
- 9:45Speaker 1: you can put some stuff out there and give God
- 9:47Speaker 1: a chance to put his finger on it and bless
- 9:49Speaker 1: it for you the most stuff he can do for you.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Quit looking around what everybody else gotten. Gonna get some
- 9:54Speaker 1: of it for yourself. Okay, all right, you're listening to
- 10:01Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen. Man, have your attention please, this is
- 10:04Speaker 1: a Steve Harvey Morning Show, live and well in vivid color,
- 10:10Speaker 1: vivid and living color. Listen today's show. It's dedicated to
- 10:17Speaker 1: people who are proud of who they are. I'm only
- 10:22Speaker 1: talking today to people who are proud of who they are.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Now listen to me. I want you to put yourself
- 10:28Speaker 1: into proud category. Even if you've made a major mistake,
- 10:34Speaker 1: it's okay. The fact that you're in the process of
- 10:38Speaker 1: overcoming it should fill you with Pride. Hello, this is
- 10:43Speaker 1: from a proud people today. Good morning, Shirley Loud and
- 10:46Speaker 1: proud Baby. Good morning, Steve Colin for real, proud of it.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Good morning. What's up crew? Happy Tuesday? Tom and Tom Pride,
- 10:56Speaker 1: Pride Baby, Proud, Sorry, out to back and you know
- 11:02Speaker 1: who we Yeah, So what's happening everybody? Everybody good? Yeah? Yeah,
- 11:09Speaker 1: it's a good day. Yeah. You wake up early, ain't it?
- 11:14Speaker 1: It's just good to be up in the morning. Man,
- 11:17Speaker 1: I love morning, blessing. Time change. We did it already itself. Huh.
- 11:24Speaker 1: I thought we did it already, didn't we. Time ain't change? Yeah,
- 11:27Speaker 1: sure didn't go forward already. We didn't do it already early.
- 11:31Speaker 1: I talk back, No, girl, I don't know, I thought Sunday,
- 11:39Speaker 1: November three, November three. You know surely you ain't good
- 11:42Speaker 1: with dealing with time or death them too. You will
- 11:47Speaker 1: get a person out of here quicker. We all, we
- 11:54Speaker 1: all have our flaws. I don't remember the time. I'm
- 11:57Speaker 1: going back. I don't like fall back, do you? I
- 12:00Speaker 1: hate dark earlier now? It messes me up when it's dark,
- 12:05Speaker 1: especially in LA. It'd be dark and both thetic. Yeah,
- 12:09Speaker 1: you'd be going hate partner when I was little growing
- 12:15Speaker 1: up in Chicago, it would be so dark at like
- 12:18Speaker 1: four what like, yeah, and cold, dark and cold. I
- 12:25Speaker 1: think that they should change it and stop moving the
- 12:28Speaker 1: cloth because farming is not what it was. I've always
- 12:31Speaker 1: taught that it was for farming to create all the
- 12:34Speaker 1: days in the summer for the farmers to get more
- 12:37Speaker 1: hours of work. Then I was always told that because
- 12:40Speaker 1: we were in the country, of course that I don't
- 12:42Speaker 1: know if that was true. That's what I heard too. Yeah,
- 12:45Speaker 1: farming is not what it was. So I just think
- 12:47Speaker 1: that we should we should move on with this time.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I think we should we should do two things. What
- 12:53Speaker 1: we should move on with the time and and impeach
- 12:57Speaker 1: the president. Yeah, we got to do that. You got
- 13:01Speaker 1: my vote. Now. Now do I think that's going to happen?
- 13:07Speaker 1: Probably not, that's just oh my Christmases. Well, they have
- 13:11Speaker 1: discussed the time not not changing it. They have discussed
- 13:15Speaker 1: that the IMPI that every every spring forward and every
- 13:20Speaker 1: fall bag. Yeah, so they have discussed it. At least
- 13:24Speaker 1: it feels like it's getting closer. But come on with this,
- 13:28Speaker 1: I teachment, let's get that closer immediately. Yeah, all right,
- 13:33Speaker 1: coming up at thirty two after the hour, is Steve
- 13:35Speaker 1: your favorite segment? Asked? Steve? Coming up? You're listening to
- 13:44Speaker 1: coming up at the top of the hour, our friend,
- 13:47Speaker 1: our family member, Tyres will be our special guest that's
- 13:51Speaker 1: coming up at the top of the hour again. But
- 13:53Speaker 1: right now it's time to ask Steve your favorite segment. Steve.
- 13:56Speaker 1: We're gonna ask you questions. I'm going to ask you
- 13:58Speaker 1: to please keep your answers so we can get more
- 14:00Speaker 1: questions in. Thank you. Here we go. You're ready. What
- 14:07Speaker 1: becomes more difficult, not easier, more difficult the more you
- 14:11Speaker 1: do it, Steve? What becomes more difficult the more you
- 14:16Speaker 1: do it? What becomes more difficult the more you do it,
- 14:21Speaker 1: the more you do it. The weight loss, Oh good, yeah, up.
- 14:29Speaker 1: More you try to lose weight, the longer you've been
- 14:32Speaker 1: doing it, the harder it gets. My stomach Right now
- 14:38Speaker 1: that I've actually just jument, I quit looking at it.
- 14:46Speaker 1: You give up request though, Oh no, the six pack
- 14:51Speaker 1: is the quest already know I'm not gonna get a
- 14:54Speaker 1: six pack. I know that, but I've tried to do
- 14:57Speaker 1: things to offset it. What did you do during the
- 15:01Speaker 1: Shirts Off tour? Remember that? Yeah? Yeah, I was. I
- 15:07Speaker 1: was twelve years younger. Yeah, everything I did then is
- 15:11Speaker 1: not working now. I'm I did all that. I know
- 15:16Speaker 1: exactly what I did. I wouldn't done it for four
- 15:18Speaker 1: months and I don't have that look yet. It seems
- 15:21Speaker 1: like you don't do cardio. Seems like you just wait, wait, left.
- 15:25Speaker 1: That's so not true. Okay, you haven't been to one workout,
- 15:29Speaker 1: so I'll ignore that. You said that. Next question, you
- 15:34Speaker 1: don't do cardio. It was a question. All right, I
- 15:40Speaker 1: got one for you, Steve. What's the best way to
- 15:43Speaker 1: get rich? What's the best way? What do you think
- 15:47Speaker 1: make more money? Oh? No, The best way to get
- 15:52Speaker 1: rich is to identify your guilt and then take that
- 15:56Speaker 1: gift and give it your undivided attention and you're all out,
- 16:00Speaker 1: massive effort, make rooms. I agree with that. And that's
- 16:05Speaker 1: and if you could, if your gift is the thing
- 16:07Speaker 1: gonna make room for you, identify the gift, focus only
- 16:11Speaker 1: one hundred and twenty and never give up. Yeah, and
- 16:15Speaker 1: I love you're. One of your favorite things that you say,
- 16:19Speaker 1: Steve is when people say that's so hard, and then
- 16:23Speaker 1: you say, yeah, it is hard to be successful, but
- 16:26Speaker 1: ain't it hard to be poor? Paul is? Yeah, Paul
- 16:31Speaker 1: has some difficulties and challenges to it. So since it's
- 16:34Speaker 1: going to be hard to be successful and it's hard
- 16:38Speaker 1: to be not successful, I might just will go on
- 16:41Speaker 1: and get this hard to be successful journey started. Yeah, yeah,
- 16:45Speaker 1: I love that. I agree with that because we've all
- 16:47Speaker 1: seen the movie on How to Be Poor. We know
- 16:50Speaker 1: how that is. Oh, work started, Yeah, yes, show start,
- 16:59Speaker 1: co star directed produced. Did all of that? All right, Steve?
- 17:03Speaker 1: Here we go? I like that one? Oh yeah, what
- 17:08Speaker 1: are some foods that you hesitated to eat but later
- 17:12Speaker 1: you loved it? A scar gold oh cavea. Oh, I'll try.
- 17:25Speaker 1: It's not a favorite of mine, but you know it's
- 17:28Speaker 1: some stuff I would I never do the sushi. I
- 17:31Speaker 1: swow sushi off as a young boy. Raoul Man you
- 17:37Speaker 1: yea some grease. Those three things I remember I didn't
- 17:42Speaker 1: understand fish. Yeah you too, part good question, good rich answer.
- 17:53Speaker 1: All right, Um, here's one. What screamed? Steve, listen to
- 17:58Speaker 1: this carefully. What scream I have a crush on you?
- 18:04Speaker 1: What screams I have a crush on you? Oh? If
- 18:11Speaker 1: I'm looking at you and my mouth is opening, I'm slobbling, screaming, screaming,
- 18:20Speaker 1: screaming I have a crush on Well, how do you
- 18:23Speaker 1: know someone? Okay, that's how you have a crush on someone,
- 18:27Speaker 1: But how do you know someone has a crush on
- 18:29Speaker 1: you if they're looking at me? Mouth was hanging open
- 18:36Speaker 1: and yeah yeah now that yeah, now that has never
- 18:44Speaker 1: happened to me, not even rich. That doesn't happen. Come on, well,
- 18:50Speaker 1: I've seen other ways, not that extreme, okay, man. At
- 18:55Speaker 1: an event, I was speaking to a group, yeah, and
- 19:01Speaker 1: it was mostly women, and this woman had a mini
- 19:06Speaker 1: skirt on and and and you know, was kind of
- 19:12Speaker 1: working it towards me. I was doing the speaking, but
- 19:15Speaker 1: then got up left after the event was open over,
- 19:22Speaker 1: put on a skin tight cat suit with heels, and
- 19:27Speaker 1: came right back in the room because I was a
- 19:30Speaker 1: mini skirt wasn't winning. I mean I don't even know how.
- 19:33Speaker 1: I didn't even know why, and changed into a cat
- 19:36Speaker 1: suit yeah, and came in front and I mean skin tight,
- 19:41Speaker 1: and walked right in front of your eyelines to make
- 19:44Speaker 1: sure you could see to the point where it pissed
- 19:47Speaker 1: the other women off that it was that obvious. Oh men, women,
- 19:53Speaker 1: what you can't You can't slide nothing, pad flirting on
- 19:55Speaker 1: the woman. Now, man can miss it, but women women
- 19:58Speaker 1: ain't gonna miss it, and gang all the time because
- 20:03Speaker 1: we know what the kids I didn't hear just say.
- 20:13Speaker 1: The answer was in his silence if you didn't pick
- 20:16Speaker 1: that up. Yeah, come on, Carla, all right quickly, what
- 20:25Speaker 1: warning label do you consistently ignore? And why the surgeon
- 20:31Speaker 1: General has to turn can cause birth? And right there
- 20:37Speaker 1: I quit reading. I ain't been hand obagis all right?
- 20:44Speaker 1: We gotta get out of here. That concludes our segment,
- 20:48Speaker 1: asked Steve, coming up next, nephew, run that prank back
- 20:51Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening to show coming up at
- 20:56Speaker 1: the top of the hour. Get ready, get ready, Tyrese
- 21:00Speaker 1: will be a very special guest for that. Yeah, right
- 21:04Speaker 1: now it is time for the nephew to run that
- 21:06Speaker 1: prank back. What you got now, Uh, we're gonna get
- 21:10Speaker 1: in the closet. Raymond in the closet, let's run that
- 21:13Speaker 1: thing back. Hello, Hello, helly, who the can you hear me? Yeah? Bad?
- 21:19Speaker 1: Who's there? This Raymond man? Speak up? I can't hear you.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Who this this Raymond man? Speak up? I can't hear you?
- 21:26Speaker 1: Who is this? Raymond? Raymond? Raymond Rond is my sister,
- 21:33Speaker 1: nda brother. Yes, what's up? What's up? Man? What's up?

- 22:10Speaker 1: Why you ain't call the police. I'm in the closet.
- 22:13Speaker 1: I'm in the closet and I'm trying to get somebody
- 22:16Speaker 1: to hold on, hold on, well, I don't know what
- 22:19Speaker 1: to do. Man. You're saying somebody in the house, in
- 22:24Speaker 1: your damn house. White? Nah? Okay, wait where you live at?
- 22:30Speaker 1: Where you live at? I'm old thirty six street because
- 22:33Speaker 1: I'm at thirty two and a half. You know what.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Hold on, I'm going to call them lads. Wait wait, wait, wait, man,
- 22:39Speaker 1: you know what what Wait a minute, don't call the police.
- 22:43Speaker 1: You see your and I hold somebody for the piping
- 22:46Speaker 1: to kill you, and you talk about you don't want
- 22:48Speaker 1: them arrest it. We got some illegal stuff. Now, don't

- 27:44Speaker 1: that's your favorite Steve all time because I know him.

- 28:29Speaker 1: We all love it. I know. Coming up at the
- 28:32Speaker 1: top of the hour, Tyree, our special guest right after this,
- 28:39Speaker 1: it's your man, Tyree. Y'all already know it's about to
- 28:42Speaker 1: get real coming up next right here on the Steve
- 28:46Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. You're listening Morning Show. Hey, y'all listen
- 28:52Speaker 1: our special guests. I told you, I told you what's
- 28:55Speaker 1: gonna happen? Listen to me. A few years ago, Uh,
- 29:01Speaker 1: I played a song uh every day for about six months.
- 29:09Speaker 1: It was the greatest song that had been written in
- 29:12Speaker 1: R and B and pop music and in I can't
- 29:16Speaker 1: tell you a minimum decade that damn share boy. You
- 29:24Speaker 1: know what I said? The video was so good. The
- 29:28Speaker 1: boy this anyway, man, But I'm talking about I watched
- 29:33Speaker 1: your video on Damn Near Cry. When I tell you
- 29:36Speaker 1: he's a soul for single. If you didn't get it,
- 29:38Speaker 1: then you don't. You don't know soul music period. You
- 29:42Speaker 1: just don't. Well, he's an actor, he's an author, he's
- 29:46Speaker 1: a bad boy. He just knew his movie out. It's
- 29:49Speaker 1: called Black and Blue is and right now he stars
- 29:52Speaker 1: as Mouse in this new movie. And Black and Blue
- 29:56Speaker 1: it's got what it is. It pits a rookie cop
- 29:59Speaker 1: against dirty cop. It is a fast paced action thriller.
- 30:04Speaker 1: It's also a history making movie. And we're gonna tell
- 30:06Speaker 1: you why, ladies and gentlemen, what he family now he's family.
- 30:11Speaker 1: In the words of my dad, Capricorne. He never put
- 30:15Speaker 1: the the pr My father never knew that it was Capricord.
- 30:21Speaker 1: He just always thought with Capricorne, ladies and general fella, Capricorne,
- 30:26Speaker 1: one and only Tyrese man Reese, how you being? Man?
- 30:36Speaker 1: I love you? I know you do, boy, I know
- 30:40Speaker 1: that well, we've been solid. I'm trying to tell you.
- 30:45Speaker 1: I ain't ever got to worry about tyres anything happened
- 30:49Speaker 1: in my life. I get a text, Yes, we got
- 30:52Speaker 1: you on. Don't even worry about that dog. Don't even blink.
- 30:59Speaker 1: It's some real one. I here riding for you to
- 31:01Speaker 1: the wheels fall off and and dal didn't the older
- 31:05Speaker 1: ones I really got time for I don't even have. Hey, man,
- 31:08Speaker 1: let's get into this because we welcome. There's just a
- 31:11Speaker 1: new movie out as in theaters now. It's called Black
- 31:13Speaker 1: and Blue. It's the first movie in history. You are
- 31:17Speaker 1: to have an African American woman playing a police officer
- 31:22Speaker 1: in a lead role. Yes, her name is Naomi Harris. Yes,
- 31:27Speaker 1: that's amazing for Naomi. How did that come about, Tyrese. Uh? Well,
- 31:34Speaker 1: you know the crazy thing is people don't notice. But
- 31:38Speaker 1: Naomi had called herself retiring from acting because she's been
- 31:42Speaker 1: acting since she was nine. She had her OSCAR nominated
- 31:46Speaker 1: performance from From Moonlight, and she just got exhausted and
- 31:50Speaker 1: just needed a break and just needed a moment. And
- 31:54Speaker 1: a little over a year went by and her team
- 31:58Speaker 1: put this black and blue movie on her ear. She says,
- 32:01Speaker 1: she cried. She couldn't stop paid turning the pages. She
- 32:06Speaker 1: says she's seen herself like jumping into the movie and
- 32:10Speaker 1: just like me, when I got ahold of it, I
- 32:13Speaker 1: knew that we was about to make something that was
- 32:17Speaker 1: going to be for the culture, something that was going
- 32:19Speaker 1: to impact what we are living every single day. And
- 32:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest, which most people would never say.
- 32:29Speaker 1: These are the type of movies that never get greenlit
- 32:31Speaker 1: in Hollywood because it's so raw, it's so in your face,
- 32:38Speaker 1: it's so real. It's uncomfortable. And I had to tell
- 32:44Speaker 1: this when I did the press junk in last week,
- 32:47Speaker 1: and this woman who happened to be a white woman,
- 32:50Speaker 1: I ain't got a race spone in my body, if
- 32:52Speaker 1: she said when the movie started, I felt like somebody
- 32:55Speaker 1: from the back row put their foot on my neck
- 32:58Speaker 1: and they never took the foot off my neck for
- 33:01Speaker 1: two hours. I was breathing, I was screaming at the screen.
- 33:05Speaker 1: I was high fiving people on my road that I
- 33:08Speaker 1: didn't even know. And I said, this is what it
- 33:12Speaker 1: feels like to be black in America. You feel that pressure.
- 33:18Speaker 1: And then she says, well, that's that's unfair, and you know,
- 33:22Speaker 1: I said, well no, no, let's let's just let's stay
- 33:24Speaker 1: right there. She said, well, what about you. You could
- 33:28Speaker 1: afford security, you know, you're this year that you're an entertainer,
- 33:32Speaker 1: you know, And I said, well, where's Biggie Smalls? Where's Biggie?
- 33:38Speaker 1: How is his murder still unsolved to this day? No conviction,
- 33:42Speaker 1: no trial, you know, and there's documentaries that point out
- 33:46Speaker 1: that the police had something to do with helping the
- 33:49Speaker 1: orchestrate his murder. His mother would never be able to
- 33:52Speaker 1: say happy Birthday to him ever again. And not every
- 33:57Speaker 1: case gets national headline, not every case gets the attention
- 34:01Speaker 1: on social media. It's happening every single day. And so
- 34:05Speaker 1: me and Naomi knew Steve that we were going into
- 34:08Speaker 1: this movie making something to speak to Tamia Rice, to
- 34:13Speaker 1: Eric Garner, to beg you to you know, missus Jefferson,
- 34:18Speaker 1: that we just lost playing video games in her living
- 34:22Speaker 1: room in Dallas, r And So this is one of
- 34:25Speaker 1: the movies that that you have to see it to
- 34:29Speaker 1: understand how much it means and how raw and in
- 34:32Speaker 1: your face, and how much it speaks to the culture. Hey, Tyrese,
- 34:35Speaker 1: hold on one second, man, We'll be right back. We'll
- 34:37Speaker 1: be right back, y'all with more from Tyreese. You're listening,
- 34:43Speaker 1: all right, Steve. Our special guest is Tyrese. We love him.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Reese is here to talk about his brand new movie,
- 34:50Speaker 1: which I have seen. It is incredible, is called Black
- 34:52Speaker 1: and Blue. I was I couldn't take my eyes off
- 34:56Speaker 1: the screen. That's how much it gets into you because
- 35:00Speaker 1: it is what we as black people live every single day,
- 35:04Speaker 1: every single day. Not to say that there are no
- 35:06Speaker 1: good cops out there, that's not what this is. Oh yeah,
- 35:09Speaker 1: that's not fair. It's definitely a lot of comments to
- 35:12Speaker 1: this day when when it gets real that nine one
- 35:15Speaker 1: one is flying and they come out and they helped
- 35:17Speaker 1: me out every time. So it's it's unfair to say
- 35:21Speaker 1: that every cop is bad. But this is the question
- 35:23Speaker 1: that I posed to the good cops. When is the
- 35:26Speaker 1: last time you've seen something and didn't say something. That's
- 35:31Speaker 1: all you put that universe, and you say, well, if
- 35:35Speaker 1: you ain't out here doing wrong when somebody else is
- 35:38Speaker 1: doing wrong, whine you wanting to speak? Offer see? Because
- 35:42Speaker 1: Eric Garner was getting choked, right, and only one police
- 35:47Speaker 1: officer got reprimanded, but they was fourteen officers standing there
- 35:51Speaker 1: to witness it. Nobody can footage was ever turned in,
- 35:54Speaker 1: and nobody ever said anything about what they've seen with
- 35:58Speaker 1: their own eyes. And so everything about this movie keeps
- 36:02Speaker 1: you on the edge of your seat. And there's a
- 36:06Speaker 1: communicate is that there's a community of people out here
- 36:09Speaker 1: that will say, you know, it's really sad to see
- 36:12Speaker 1: what they are dealing with. I've been in LA, and
- 36:15Speaker 1: probably I don't know Tyree's from LA, but I've been
- 36:17Speaker 1: in labout thirty years and I have yet to see
- 36:20Speaker 1: a white guy in a suit sit on the ground
- 36:23Speaker 1: with his hands behind his back. I have yet to
- 36:25Speaker 1: see a white guy in a suit up against the fence.
- 36:28Speaker 1: I have yet to see a white guy in a
- 36:30Speaker 1: suit bent over a cart. But I see it all
- 36:33Speaker 1: the time with blacks and Hispanics. And it's good to
- 36:36Speaker 1: see a movie like this so people can see what
- 36:39Speaker 1: it's really like and how people are getting treated my
- 36:42Speaker 1: police officers. You know, it's not all of them. It's
- 36:45Speaker 1: not all of them. It's like the ones that do
- 36:47Speaker 1: make it bad for the other one. Yeah, but that's
- 36:49Speaker 1: what the movie is about. And got to see it, yo,
- 36:52Speaker 1: have got to see this movie. Yeah, you play Milo
- 36:55Speaker 1: Jackson Mouse. Tell us about your character in the movie. Well,
- 36:59Speaker 1: my character there is a two time selling I work
- 37:03Speaker 1: in the liquor store. Um, the last bed I did,
- 37:07Speaker 1: you know, really cave me in, So even if we
- 37:11Speaker 1: drug anything was in front of me, I'm just not
- 37:13Speaker 1: messing with it. So I'm in this liquor store. And
- 37:17Speaker 1: after Naomi Harrins's character witnesses a triple homicide execution style
- 37:24Speaker 1: from her fellow police officers with three black boys in
- 37:28Speaker 1: New Orleans, she captures the murder on her body cam
- 37:32Speaker 1: and then her own police force is on a mission
- 37:35Speaker 1: to kill her to stop her from turning her body
- 37:38Speaker 1: cam footage into the station. So she shows up to
- 37:41Speaker 1: my liquor store and drags me into some and I
- 37:46Speaker 1: ain't I ain't want no part of right. I'm not
- 37:50Speaker 1: giving away the movie. All of this is in the trailer.
- 37:52Speaker 1: By the way, but you know, so it's uh, it's twisty.
- 37:57Speaker 1: I mean, I think I think we've all had those
- 38:00Speaker 1: moments where they try and honor us and give us
- 38:02Speaker 1: awards or something that we did. A brave was something
- 38:04Speaker 1: we stood for. But no one wakes up on a
- 38:07Speaker 1: Wednesday and plans on being a hero. And so I'm
- 38:12Speaker 1: just one of them guys in the liquor store to
- 38:14Speaker 1: get drugs into this unexpected things, and they're on a
- 38:17Speaker 1: mission throughout the whole movie to try and knock us off.
- 38:20Speaker 1: And it keeps you on the edge of your seat.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Folks is saying they had to take an anxiety pill
- 38:26Speaker 1: before they went to the car after the movie was over.
- 38:29Speaker 1: I mean, it's just trazy. All right, stay right there, Tyrese.
- 38:32Speaker 1: We'll have more at thirty four minutes after the hour
- 38:35Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening, all right, Steve. So, our
- 38:40Speaker 1: special guest is Tyrese. He is here. He's talking about
- 38:43Speaker 1: his brand new history making movie. It's called Black and Blue.
- 38:47Speaker 1: You know, we often talk about on this show that
- 38:50Speaker 1: when you go to these movies, to make sure that
- 38:52Speaker 1: your ticket says, oh, black and blue on it. I've
- 38:57Speaker 1: heard I've heard this now I don't know this, but
- 39:01Speaker 1: I've heard this from a couple of people already that
- 39:04Speaker 1: they go to the movie for black and Blue is
- 39:08Speaker 1: showing there, but there's no signage. There's no signage for
- 39:14Speaker 1: black and Blue. And you know, I don't, I don't
- 39:16Speaker 1: know what's going on with that, but I just want
- 39:19Speaker 1: to bring it to everybody's attention. When you get to
- 39:21Speaker 1: these movie theaters, make sure that your ticket, first of all,
- 39:26Speaker 1: says black and blue on it. That's for starters. But
- 39:30Speaker 1: then you need to ask the management where is the
- 39:35Speaker 1: signage for these movies? You know, it's one thing, you know,
- 39:40Speaker 1: because you used to always just be they give you
- 39:42Speaker 1: a ticket to another movie. Well, that hurts ticket sales
- 39:46Speaker 1: for our movies instantly, when they just and just go
- 39:49Speaker 1: to any theater you want to. That's been the game
- 39:52Speaker 1: for years. The game thickens if all of a sudden,
- 39:56Speaker 1: our movies are not getting signage and our movie is
- 40:00Speaker 1: not upon the billboard. That hurts the board, not on
- 40:06Speaker 1: the market. Listen, it's been all over my Instagram. I don't,
- 40:11Speaker 1: I don't. I'm not answered pulling the race card, but
- 40:14Speaker 1: I just have to speak truth to what's been happening.
- 40:17Speaker 1: I've been having so many fans to tag me to
- 40:21Speaker 1: say that every movie but Black and Blue is up
- 40:24Speaker 1: on the marquee, every billboard, every movie poster from the moment.
- 40:29Speaker 1: You know how many times if you took your wife
- 40:31Speaker 1: from your girl to the movie, so I don't even
- 40:33Speaker 1: know what we came here to watch. We want to
- 40:35Speaker 1: watch something, and then you end up seeing signs and
- 40:39Speaker 1: advertising sign and then you're like, what's that movie? And
- 40:42Speaker 1: you start asking questions. You got to walk all the
- 40:45Speaker 1: way to the back to even see a movie poster.
- 40:48Speaker 1: It is it. I don't want to call it voter suppression,
- 40:52Speaker 1: but it is seeing strategic and calculated. And so go
- 40:58Speaker 1: online order your tickets. As Uncle Steve said, make sure
- 41:02Speaker 1: it says black and blue. And I need y'all to
- 41:06Speaker 1: know that in success, more movies that speak to what
- 41:11Speaker 1: we actually live every day will be made. And Tyrese,
- 41:15Speaker 1: we love you man, appreciate the hard work and keep
- 41:18Speaker 1: going strong with him. Man. I appreciate you. I appreciate you, Honor,
- 41:22Speaker 1: thank you for what you mean to the coach of Steve.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Thank you all for having me on this morning. Wait
- 41:28Speaker 1: a minute, Wait a minute, Wait a minute, Tyrese, ha
- 41:32Speaker 1: done not to interrupt you. But before you go, you
- 41:35Speaker 1: have to tell us you are starring in the Teddy
- 41:39Speaker 1: Pendergrass story without telling us about that, it's coming. The

- 52:34Speaker 1: one today right here, right now. Buck her up and
- 52:39Speaker 1: hold on tight. We got it for you. Here. It
- 52:41Speaker 1: is the Strawberry Letter subject, could her son be My
- 52:46Speaker 1: new Man? Well, Dear Stephen Shirley, I'm a fifty two
- 52:49Speaker 1: year old woman and I need for my best friend
- 52:52Speaker 1: to have an opened mind, open mind, I've never I've
- 52:56Speaker 1: known her for most of my life and she's divorced
- 52:59Speaker 1: with a groan son. Her son was raised by her
- 53:02Speaker 1: ex husband, so I have not spent a lot of
- 53:04Speaker 1: time with her son. I was having dinner with my
- 53:07Speaker 1: best friend and her son joined us for dinner to
- 53:10Speaker 1: say hello. He sat with us briefly and talked about
- 53:13Speaker 1: his dance studio in town, and since I loved to dance,
- 53:16Speaker 1: I was intrigued by him. He told us about his
- 53:19Speaker 1: new Latin dance classes. His mom said she was not interested,
- 53:23Speaker 1: but encouraged me to register for the classes. I did,
- 53:27Speaker 1: and I went to class on the first day and
- 53:30Speaker 1: the studio is very nice and he used me as
- 53:33Speaker 1: his dance partner. I almost fainted when he put his big,
- 53:38Speaker 1: strong arms around me. Something inside of me awakened, and
- 53:42Speaker 1: it was a feeling I have not had in years.
- 53:45Speaker 1: The dance class is weekly and he keeps picking me up,
- 53:48Speaker 1: picking me as his dance partner for some reason. He
- 53:52Speaker 1: talked to me after our fourth class and I told
- 53:54Speaker 1: him I was a little sore, so he told me
- 53:57Speaker 1: he could come by and help me stretch my muscles
- 53:59Speaker 1: and show me some exercises to help me warm up
- 54:03Speaker 1: for dancing. I was overjoyed because any extra time I
- 54:07Speaker 1: could get her with him turned me on, even though
- 54:11Speaker 1: I know it may be indecent. He has come by
- 54:14Speaker 1: the house a couple of times, and the second time
- 54:17Speaker 1: he put my trash out for me and change the
- 54:19Speaker 1: lightbulb in my laundry room. I am addicted to this
- 54:23Speaker 1: gorgeous twenty eight year old man, and he may like
- 54:26Speaker 1: me too, because he keeps offering to help me out
- 54:28Speaker 1: with stuff at my house. Do you think my best
- 54:31Speaker 1: friend would be open to me asking her son out officially?
- 54:35Speaker 1: He is a grown man, and my friend might like
- 54:39Speaker 1: the idea of us actually becoming family. What do you
- 54:42Speaker 1: think is he off limits because he is my bestie son?
- 54:45Speaker 1: Please advise? H Okay, listen, they're just rules, Okay, double standards,
- 54:53Speaker 1: they're coats to life. Okay, I'm sure at fifty two
- 54:57Speaker 1: and a fifty two year old woman, you know at
- 55:00Speaker 1: and this situation you getting involved with your best friend's
- 55:05Speaker 1: son falls in one or all of those categories. Okay,
- 55:08Speaker 1: it's either you know, it's a double standard. You can't
- 55:12Speaker 1: do this, all right? No, your friend is not going
- 55:14Speaker 1: to like the idea of you actually becoming family. No,
- 55:18Speaker 1: she's not gonna want you to hurt her son. She's
- 55:21Speaker 1: not going to want you to be with her son
- 55:24Speaker 1: because you're so much older than her son. She's probably
- 55:26Speaker 1: looking for her son to get married, settled down, have
- 55:29Speaker 1: some kids so she can be a grandmother, things like that,
- 55:32Speaker 1: and with you, that's not going to fall in this category. Unfortunately,
- 55:38Speaker 1: she's not going to be happy about this. Yes, she
- 55:40Speaker 1: told you to go to his dance class, but to dance,
- 55:44Speaker 1: not to sleep with him, not to get with him,
- 55:47Speaker 1: none of the above, None of the above. She just
- 55:49Speaker 1: wanted you to go to his dance class. And yeah,
- 55:52Speaker 1: he may be submitten by you. You know, he's over
- 55:55Speaker 1: there helping you and stuff, hoping that, you know, maybe
- 55:58Speaker 1: something will happen with is. But you're you're the mature
- 56:02Speaker 1: person in this situation, so you should know better. All right.
- 56:05Speaker 1: Just because you know he's fine and all of that,
- 56:08Speaker 1: it doesn't mean that you should be getting with your
- 56:10Speaker 1: your best friends. So where is this gonna go? Where
- 56:13Speaker 1: is it gonna go? I mean you got to think
- 56:15Speaker 1: about all of those things, not just immediate sexual gratification
- 56:19Speaker 1: and satisfaction. And um the part about you becoming family.
- 56:24Speaker 1: So what would you be? You'd be her best friend
- 56:26Speaker 1: slash daughter in law? No, no, slash mother of her grandkids. No, no, no, no, no,
- 56:34Speaker 1: uh no no. This is a bad idea that could
- 56:38Speaker 1: get worse and you could lose your friendship over this situation.
- 56:41Speaker 1: So I say absolutely not leave her son alone. Steve
- 56:45Speaker 1: m Well, well, well, hey, were fitting to talk about
- 56:50Speaker 1: two grown as people. Let's get it up. Could her
- 56:54Speaker 1: son be my new man? How to sound to you?
- 56:58Speaker 1: You're just such a How that sound to you? Good? Hun?
- 57:08Speaker 1: Be my new man? How that sound to you? Now?
- 57:16Speaker 1: You fifty two? And now hear how you open the letter?
- 57:20Speaker 1: I'm fifty two and I need my best friend to
- 57:24Speaker 1: have an open mind. You don't think your best friend
- 57:27Speaker 1: gonna have some requirements, so you so here we go.
- 57:31Speaker 1: You've known a most of your life, Oh good lord, childhood.
- 57:36Speaker 1: She's divorced with a grown son, A son got raised
- 57:41Speaker 1: by ex hell, so you ain't spend a lot of
- 57:42Speaker 1: time with him. You was having dinner with your best friend,
- 57:45Speaker 1: and then he showed up and joined you to say hello.
- 57:48Speaker 1: He just sat with y'all, and then he started talking
- 57:51Speaker 1: about his dance studio in town. And since I loved
- 57:54Speaker 1: to dance, I was intrigued by him. See you was,
- 57:57Speaker 1: you were sprung after get go as soon as he said,
- 58:02Speaker 1: his little muscular ass down with him, little tight ass,
- 58:06Speaker 1: his muscular ass down with him, tight ass, Spanish pan
- 58:10Speaker 1: song with the high waist band with some glint on it,
- 58:14Speaker 1: with a slit in the bail bottoms, and he didn't
- 58:17Speaker 1: have no pockets on his ass, and his smooth lastic
- 58:23Speaker 1: Latino Spanish bullfighter paying song in Cancou as soon as
- 58:30Speaker 1: he sat in with that little shirt with the bail
- 58:33Speaker 1: bottom sleeves on it, and it was opening hand hand
- 58:37Speaker 1: on his chest. And his name was Este Van, and
- 58:42Speaker 1: he about his new Latin dance class. Oh nah, he's
- 58:47Speaker 1: black teaching Latin dance class. Hang on, hang on, no, y'all,
- 58:52Speaker 1: hang on. We're gonna have part two. Yeah, I have
- 58:56Speaker 1: those cancoul. Well, we'll have part two seats response coming
- 59:00Speaker 1: up at twenty three after the hour. Subject up today's
- 59:04Speaker 1: Strawberry letter. Could her son be my new man? We'll
- 59:06Speaker 1: get back into it right after this. You're listening show,
- 59:12Speaker 1: all right? Come on, Steve, Let's recap today's Strawberry letters subject,
- 59:15Speaker 1: Could her son be my new man? Well, let's just
- 59:20Speaker 1: start with that damn sentence, Could her son be my
- 59:25Speaker 1: new man? Girl? You fitted two. You was out at
- 59:30Speaker 1: dinner your friend, and you've known all your life is divorce,
- 59:34Speaker 1: got a grown son. You're out having dinner with your girlfriend.
- 59:37Speaker 1: Her son shows up to say hello, he said, and
- 59:40Speaker 1: he talked about his dance studio in town. Since I
- 59:43Speaker 1: loved the dance, I was intrigued by him. That ain't
- 59:45Speaker 1: why you was intrigued by him. You was intrigued by
- 59:48Speaker 1: him because he told you about the new Latin dance. Claimman,
- 59:51Speaker 1: he didn't walked in with the tight ass Spanish pants on.
- 59:56Speaker 1: He didn't came in here with it with no pocket.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: It's on the back of his ass, bare bottoms, high waist,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: you know them pants that come right up under your nipples.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: He got them pass on. He got that shirt on
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: with them bare sleeves on it. He in his He
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: didn't change his name. His name is Earl Thomas. He
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: had changed his name to El Rico Suave, just the
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: El Rico Suave Latino dance class. Stupid. This black ass
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: was teaching the boogaloo last week, But now the boogaloop,
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: and the and the and the twist, and the market,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: and now he had seen his Latino chicken. Now he
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: didn't open up this dance class. So you his mom
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: said to go in there register for the class. She
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: just trying to financially help her son. Well, girl, gonna
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: take the class. You're sitting a pig. You go in
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: the studios. Nice. He asked you to be his dance partner.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: I fainted when he put his big strong arms and
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: around me. Now here we go. This is what the
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: whole letter about. Something inside of me awakened, and it
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: was a feeling I have not had in years. Dass
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: got hot. Your ass got hot. That's all this is.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: Ain't know, something awakened in me. The ass got hot,
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: pulled you in, pressed his loins in them tighter ass
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: matter dough pants he had on. He got the bullfighting
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: pants on. He didn't pulled you in, and you could
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: feel his sword and his his his all this don't matter.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: Don't have the cape stick all that was in his pants.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: Now you're sitting up in here feeling this. The dance
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: class is weakly. He keeps picking you as your dance
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: partner for some reason. Then after the fourth class, I
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: told him I was a little sauce sol He said
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: he could come back and help me stretch my muscles
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: and show me some exercise to help me warm up
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: for dancing. Now that that seemed like a come on
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: right there, because I'm going by the student's house to
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: help you warm up and stretch muscles. You stretch your muscle.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: You got to lay on the table and give me
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: your leg. Once you give me your leg. And I
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: got these man of dope pants on. I'm under some
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: pressure now here she go. I was overjoyed because any
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: extra time I could get with him turn me on.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: And even though I know it may be indecent, that's
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: why you need to stop this now, that's right. He
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: was come by the house a couple of times. In
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: the second time he put my trash out for me
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: and change the light bulb in my laundry. Rule this
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: old ass courtship right here, this old ass courtship right here.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: Men don't come by taking out trash me change the
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: light bulbs too much, no more, and your ass is
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: going old lord, he must want to marry me. He
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: didn't take my trash out, No, he wants to do you.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: I think he got something for you because this is
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: a little extra. You ain't just going by to help
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: his mom out picking you to dance part but he
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: don't know how to do it because he's scared to
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: come on to you because you his mama friend keeps
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: offering to help me out with stuff in my house?
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: Do you think my best friend hit you here? Where
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: you get real stupid? Do you think my best friend
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: will be open to me asking her son out officially? Hell?
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: Now he is a grown man and not man. My
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: friend might like the idea of us actually becoming family?
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: Are you delusion? Are you? Are you? You lost your
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: rabbit ass mind? Your your best friend would like the
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: idea of us actually becoming family. She pictures your friends,
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: so we can't pick family members. We can only pick
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: our friends. She didn't picture as her best friend. Now
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: you don't slept with her baby, now you feel? What
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: do you think? Because he off limits because he's my
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: son that's free. First of all, when you take this
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: to her, she's not gonna believe you coming to her
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: with it healthful? What did you say? Next question? Why hill?
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: Next statement? You ain't ruining his life? He'll go to
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: big one. Shit. Probably won't her own grandkids, not yours,
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: that's right, because you can't even hand them o Babi's
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: probably she gonna look at you, is ruining her baby's life.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Chance to have me, the nice young woman, grow together,
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: have a family. You can bought your old ass in here.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: You canna do my baby? No you ain't, because I'm

- 1:08:16Speaker 1: the top of the hour. Flavor Flame, you are the
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: father at the age of sixty. We'll tell you about
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: that one right after this. Yeah, boy, you're listening to
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: the Steve Morning Show. Flavor Flame, you are the father.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: According to the results of a genetic paternity test, Flavor
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: Flame is ninety nine point nine percent confirmed as the
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: father of a two month old baby boy. Wow, his
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: mother Wait a minute, wait, why are we doing a DNA?
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: What do you mean we have to determine. That's how
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: you determine if you baby have a clock pol the baby?
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: Q Oh, we got to do an I'm will we
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: got to have DNA. I changed cut. That's why we
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: have to do a DNA. You got it. Now, the
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: baby's mother file the paternity case in La County courts.
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: Her name is Kate Gammel. She'll now ask a judge
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: to make Flavor Flavor play child support. William Jonathan Drayton Junior.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: You know that's flavored legal government name. He's sixty years old. Now,
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: word has it that Flayed and his baby mama Kate
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: met at an event where Kate worked with Chuck d
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: for a while before joining Flavor Flav's team. So, Steve,
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: here's the question for you. What would you do with
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: a newborn at sixty years old? I have to go
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: to court because as no way I'm fit to be
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: a father. Off. I'm gonna just turn myself into the court.
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: I am the most unfit person to be a father
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: of an infant. I don't want the damn kids I got. Now,
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: stop saying that I'd be damned if I'm going to
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: start this processing again. Oh I want him to hear me. Yeah,
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: I'm not starting this process again. No law, no law
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: that Google Google ain't Google goog God, God, I ain't
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: dot who. I ain't look at me changing diapers, formula
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: that's supposed to Okay, I'll tell you what, give me
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: the things that come with raising the new child, and
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you why they need to just come
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: get this baby. Now, go ahead, Okay, we'll changeing the
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: baby changing of course, deal with it. If the longer
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: I let it stay on you, the longer, the quicker
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: you'll probably get potty tray diapers. If your ans is
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: burning long enough, you're gonna stop doing it and be
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: backed up as a baby. I'm trying to tell you
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: next next scenario, Oh my god, Okay, nursing with your formula,
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: nursing and formula mixing, the formula all that you know, nursing.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: The baby's got to be fed. Yeah, oh that's that's
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: a mama with me. I ain't got nothing for you here.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: Thing every rod. They might sweat a little bit, but
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure there's no nutritional value on vs. Hill
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: the baby. What if the baby gets the baby get
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: sick and you have to take it to the pediatrician, Steve,
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: and the babies get sick. Y'all not arresting me for
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: this baby getting sick. Nobody's talking about babies. Babies get sick. Yeah,
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: they have a little cold vapor rub on his chest.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: Put a hot wash cloth on his chest and layer's
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: ass down, sweat it out. Give him a hot toddy,
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: a little honey and a little rock sugar and put
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: him to sleep. Yeah, make a hot toddy and let's
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: deal with him. Not going down here getting the cues
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: of this babies. Why sixty year old people don't be well?
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: Congratulations going out to Flavor Flame coming up, more music,
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: more fun and more Steve Harvey's ignorance at twenty minutes
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: after the hour, right after you're listening to Hey, welcome back. Hey.
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: You know, look, I'm out here in LA and I
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: want to just say that these fires are close. A
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: lot of people have been asking me, have I got
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: an evacuation notice? Not yet, but it's it's in driving
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: distance from where I live, the Getty fires. Probably if
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: I wanted to exercise to walk there, I could do it.
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: That's how close it is. It's a lot, man, La.
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: These fires are very, very real, and what hurts it
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: the most is the winds. The winds. What's good right
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: now out here is it's a little bit cooler than normal,
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: and that's a slight help. But man, it's it's raging
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: out here, and there are a lot of people evacuate
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: and you just have to be conscious of evacuation notices. Look,
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: you can get as tragic as it is to lose
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: your home, and I can't imagine that all of this
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: stuff can be replaced. You can, So you have to
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: take these evacuation notices seriously. You can't stay there with
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: your garden holes and save your house. We've got to
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: take care of ourselves. Our family, friends, neighbors, you know,
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: for pet lovers, get your pet and get out and
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: save yourself and let the firefighters do what it is
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: that they can do. But we've got to be conscious
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: of this. It's a huge situation out here. Almost every
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: year we have to deal with these fires out in
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: LA and it's tough. Man. And certain sections of my
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: street on Mulehaul and are closed off right now, and
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: it's tough. You know. Just pray for people's safety, you know,
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: really do you're listening. It's time to ask Steve your
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: favorite segments. Steve. We're gonna ask you questions. I'm going
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: to ask you to please keep your answer short so
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: we can get more questions in thank you. Here we go,
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: you're ready. Oh, yes, what are some foods that you
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: hesitated to eat but later you loved it? Oh? As
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: scar gold question? Oh cavia? Oh what's that? Carg snails?
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: Snam It's not a favorite of mine, but you know
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: it's some stuff I would I never do that. Sushi.
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: I swow sushi off as a young boy. Raoul Man.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: You got fish, yeah, some grease, those three things I
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: remember I didn't understand fishing nobody. Yeah, yeah, you do
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: good question, good rich answer? All right, Um, how do
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: you know someone has a crush on you if they're
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: looking at me? Was hanging open and yeah now that yeah,
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: now that has never happened to me, not even rich.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: Come on, well I've seen other ways, not that extreme, Okay, man.
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: At an event, I was speaking to a group, yeah,
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: and it was mostly women, and this woman had a
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: miniskirt on and and you know, was kind of working
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: it towards me. I was doing the speaking, but then
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: got up left after the event was open over, put
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: on a skin tight hat suit with heels and came
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: right back in the room because I was manning skirt
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: was didn't winning. I mean I don't even know how.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: I didn't even know why. And she changed into a
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: cat suit yeah, and came in front and I mean
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: skin tight and was right in front of your eye
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: lines to make sure you could see her, to the
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: point where it pissed the other women off. That's because
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: it was that obvious. Oh man, women, what you can't
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: You can't slide nothing pad flirting on the woman. Now,
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: man can miss it, but women, women ain't gonna miss it.
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: And game all the time because we know what the cats,
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: I didn't hear what you say. The answer was in
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: his silence. If you didn't pick that up quickly, what
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: warning label do you consistently ignore? And why the Surgeon
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: General has to determine. I can call U birthday and
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: right there I queen reading calls I ain't been hand baby.
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: All right, you gotta get out of here. That concludes
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: our segment, asked Steve. All right, coming up our last
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: break of the day, and we'll come back and talk
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: some more right after this, at forty nine minutes after
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: the hour you're listening to. All Right, here we are
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: our last break of the day. It's been a good tuesday.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: Huh yea, yeah, yeah, good tuesday, Steve. You've been on well.
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: I don't want to say this. You've been funny today.
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: I'll just put it like that. Um, yes, hilarious, really funny.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: I have some more, asked Steve. I didn't get all
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: my questions. What you want to ask me? Well, Steve,
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: if you keep your answer short, we can get more
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: questions in early. All right, dog, what's the what's the
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: It's the strangest thing you ever brought home from a
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: night out? Interesting question? The rangest thing you ever brought
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: home from a night out a girl's phone number that
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: turned out to be my cousin. Oh oh, huh, yeah
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: a long time ago. Man, I was at this club,
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: like I was about twenty two years old, met this chick.
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: Oh man, he's talking at the club, got a phone number.
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: You know, weren't no cell phones back then. So I'm
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: going home to caller and uh. I had wrote the
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: number down and I had it on this pad, so
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: I was gonna call it the next day. So my
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: mama saw the number on the pad. I had wrote
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: it on the pad by the phone. I was gonna
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: call it the next day. But I meant to tad
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: a pad off to take it and take it up stairs.
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: And a matter of fact, I was, I was about
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: I'm about nineteen, that's about nineteen, and took it. I
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: meant the tad off and take it up, tad I
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: take it up. I didn't. I didn't take it up there.
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: The next day, my mama saw the number and she said, baby,
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: when was you gonna call Agnes? I said what she said,
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: what did you do with Agnesis phone number? On? Mm hmm?
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: I said, what the hell you meant? No, I said, no, Mamma,
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: that's that's a girl's phone number that I got. She said, no, baby,
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: that's that's Agnesis phone number that she uses at her
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: sister's house. And I said, what what you're talking? Mom,
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: She's a baby. I call this number all time she
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: called a number. She said, Hey, Shelly, how you doing?
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: She said, I'm fine? Any how you doing? I'm saying,
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: she said, Steve has wrote the wrong number down him.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: I said, no, I'm that's a girl's number. I had
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: met a girl who was my cousin at the club
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: and got her number one. Wow. Wow, not kim folk.
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: Now you talk about ignor thats who is this girl
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: you got? Mom? I don't know how I got that number? Day?

- 1:21:26Speaker 1: change one number. Day? Okay? Uh Steve, since we um,
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: have you any more thoughts on? We did a Flavor

- 1:21:42Speaker 1: know how would you be as a father at six? Well,
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: just advice to Flavor he should really really consider suicide. No,
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: you know, I mean at this point in his life,
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: what is this fault. What is the clock? You gotta
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: take that clock off. You can't go up to that
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: school with the damn clock around. Drop that baby off,

- 1:22:52Speaker 1: have to do with you? But he ain't flavor, ain't white.
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: I would carfe his girlfriend white. That ain't got nothing
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: to do it. He not a white kid. This is
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: a white man. Move Michael Douglas. You know they could
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: do that, Robert de Niro, they could do that. They
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: have kids when they sixty and seventy. They hire eight
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: nanny's and they work through it. You're sitting up in here.
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: You ain't got no nanny money. You got the caddish
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: baby to school with them. Damn flock on your neck.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: You're in New York. You gotta get on the train.
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: All the little kids running this stuff. Mommy, it's above
