- 1:33Again, that's 309-807-2427.
- 1:38And we're going to have a talk a little bit about some of the things,
- 1:43sadly, that are going on in our country today.
- 1:47And one of the things, of course, the big story is that Charlie Kirk,
- 1:54the person who formed and was president in charge of Turning Point USA,
- 2:02was assassinated and killed just recently.
- 2:07It is a sad thing that so much of this has been going on.
- 2:12Prayers also to all of the children that were hurt, injured,
- 2:18and the two children that were killed at the Annunciation Catholic Church in
- 2:23Minneapolis, Minnesota, another sad thing.
- 2:26And then a knifing down in South Carolina, or North Carolina,
- 2:33I'm sorry, I think Charlotte, North Carolina, just over the border from South
- 2:36Carolina, very close to South Carolina.
- 2:39It just seems as if there are demonic forces going on in the country.
- 2:44And I think what happened to Charlie Kirk is demonic.
- 2:48And the reaction to it, of course, Charlie was a very, very strong Christian,
- 2:54and he stood for his faith and what he believed.
- 2:59I don't see why anyone would want to kill Charlie.
- 3:03He always was fair-minded, gave people a chance to debate him and talk on their
- 3:11points on both sides of an issue,
- 3:13believed strongly in free speech, and went on college campuses and empowered
- 3:18kids there to be able to speak on both sides or three sides or four sides or
- 3:23whatever side they wanted on any issue.
- 3:25He never did name call or was never derogatory to anybody that I ever saw.
- 3:32So the fact is that he won a lot of people over, and I think that's one of the
- 3:38reasons why perhaps he was hated by the forces of so-called progressiveness
- 3:43or the left or whatever you want to call it.
- 3:47Satanism. Satanism. And we
- 3:50saw that film, I saw on TV where he was here at Illinois State University.
- 3:56When he was here, I didn't even realize that he was, never did comment on it.
- 4:01But we saw some cuttings on TV and there was a picture of someone dressed up
- 4:05as Satan, you know, challenging him, really not challenging any more than just simply being a pest.
- 4:12And the fact is, is that the person representing Satan was far more accurate,
- 4:19what's going on in this country than most people realize.
- 4:23Is there anything further you want to say on that issue, Lynn?
- 4:26On Satan? Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:31You know, not only this country, this world, we have to know that we are at war.
- 4:39And I think I've heard that this past week more than any other time, that we are truly at war.
- 4:48Different speakers and so forth have come out and said, we have to recognize what's going on.
- 4:56And it's a war. It's a spiritual war.
- 4:59The demons are really after us. And I think, you know, on this show,
- 5:04we adopted as our prayer, and Lynn and I both are ourselves personally sort
- 5:10of adopted as our prayer, the St. Michael prayer.
- 5:13And we had that prayer on this show before they started saying it again at Sunday Mass.
- 5:20And now it's at a lot of churches, and it is at our church at Epiphany,
- 5:24and I'm sure at a lot of other churches in the Peoria Diocese, the whole diocese.
- 5:28And probably in quite a few other dioceses, maybe not everywhere,
- 5:32but in a lot of places, they're saying the St. Michael prayer again.
- 5:36And, you know, you people listening out there are probably, you know, familiar with it.
- 5:39But Lynn and I sort of adopted that prayer, and we had that prayer at the end of our shows.
- 5:45And that prayer was formed by Pope Leo XIII.
- 5:51And back probably in the early part of the 20th century,
- 5:56probably very early 1900s or maybe even in the late 1800s, I'm not sure exactly,
- 6:01when he put that prayer together and gave it to the church.
- 6:07But in that St. Michael prayer, I think the key phrase in that prayer is defend us in battle.
- 6:16And I think most Catholics and probably a lot of Christians in general have
- 6:22forgotten that, that we are in battle.
- 6:28I mean, the prayer is defend us in battle.
- 6:32And Pope Leo XIII took it for granted that we are in battle, didn't he, Lynn?
- 6:37Well, yeah, he had a vision after saying Mass one morning and collapse.
- 6:44He had this vision, and it was that Satan had appeared before God the Father
- 6:55and asked for another hundred years or another period of time,
- 7:00and he said he would destroy the church.
- 7:06And God says, well, go ahead and try.
- 7:10Well, he gave him a period of time, and we are in this period of time.
- 7:17But this so shook up Pope Leo that he wrote the prayer, St.
- 7:24Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection.
- 7:29In fact, we've got that on the flip side of our, the back side of our tombstone.
- 7:36The St. Michael's prayer. Yeah, we've got some of the words of it,
- 7:41not the whole thing, but yes, that's true.
- 7:44And it's a good prayer. And I think it reminds us that we are,
- 7:49you know, Christians are in battle.
- 7:51We're at war. And I think people need to start recognizing that.
- 7:55And when you forget that and you start giving in to the secular forces and to
- 8:02the demonic forces that are in the world around us, you can see what starts to happen.
- 8:09And we're going to talk about that a little bit here in the show.
- 8:13We're going to read an article here about Christ the King.
- 8:16So I think that's important to remember, and it's important to say prayers and
- 8:21remember what's happening to Christians all over this country,
- 8:27and not only all over this country, but all over the world. Oh, yeah.
- 8:31It's not limited to here. Yeah, and before we start, though,
- 8:34I do want to remember from last week we were talking, you know,
- 8:38about San Domino College for the Trades.
- 8:43And I think we had Kent Lasnovsky on, and we talked about almost everything about the college.
- 8:51But I don't think we stressed and forgot to get in that if you go to San Domino
- 8:57College for the Trades, you will graduate without debt. you will,
- 9:03and that's the important thing, one of the very important points.
- 9:06So that's something to remember.
- 9:08And if you want to find out more about it, you can call Kent Lasnowski and the
- 9:14number is area code 217-622-8994.
- 9:20Again, that's 217-622-8994.
- 9:25Or you can, you know, if you just Google San Domino College for the trades.
- 9:32You know, Springfield, Illinois, you'll get information about it and get more information there.
- 9:37But it's important to understand that if you go to the college,
- 9:43you will end up graduating without debt. So that's an important point.
- 9:48Very important. And it was very timely to have Kent on last week because this
- 9:56week, the period of time, seven days since he did that.
- 10:02Look at what has happened in the world. My God, people are killing each other.
- 10:08They're calling each other horrible names and accusing.
- 10:12It's just things are getting, they're reaching the boiling point.
- 10:17And be very, very wary of the Internet.
- 10:20If you go on that Internet, remember everything on it is exaggerated in order
- 10:24to get and keep your attention.
- 10:26And it's, you know, the evil and the bad and the dark and so forth and everything.
- 10:32Is exaggerated in order to get more attention and more likes and more money
- 10:38for websites and so forth.
- 10:40And the algorithms and so forth are all designed to keep your attention that way.
- 10:45Get away from that screen, you know, get out and go for a walk and,
- 10:50you know, go out to our parks, go out into nature, you know,
- 10:53get out of that, leave your phone at home.
- 10:56And the schools, I think, in the state of Illinois should start banning these
- 11:00screens and phones in school.
- 11:02We have to start getting hold of this because the internet is responsible for a lot of this thinking.
- 11:07People standing and they're sitting in front of that screen all day,
- 11:11listening to people with all these negative ideas and contents and so forth. It is demonic.
- 11:18And, you know, demonic forces can take over that internet and they can bend
- 11:21people's minds, especially young minds.
- 11:23Young minds are not fully formed yet in shape.
- 11:27And we need to spend more time, the Catholic Church needs to emphasize more
- 11:32time in formation and forming kids and getting them in church and getting them
- 11:37well catechized and so forth, that this has got to stop.
- 11:40Right. It has to stop.
- 11:43And then you want to say something. I'm going to read an article here about Christ the King.
- 11:49And do you want to say something about that before we start?
- 11:53About 1850, 1870,
- 11:58somewhere in there, the pope at the
- 12:01time saw how modernism communism
- 12:05socialism you know the one of the
- 12:08ism lines but anyway how this was becoming overcoming people's faith and building
- 12:17the government to the idea to build government to serve supposedly the people and.
- 12:27Of course, they don't. They haven't. They will not.
- 12:31They want to dominate the people. But the Pope understood this,
- 12:36and it was the modernization, I guess, what he was speaking against.
- 12:46And the idea is that man, actually what man could be equivalent to God or government could,
- 12:57well, he decided we're going to celebrate and bring to people's minds the idea that Christ is the king,
- 13:08not the government, not your ideas and so forth.
- 13:14It's all, everything is in God's hands.
- 13:17And people had forgotten that. And this was a period of time of revolutions in many countries.
- 13:26Mexico was a big, big thing that went on when they were persecuting all the
- 13:32Catholics in Mexico during this period of time.
- 13:36And that lasted until early 1940s, maybe mid-1940s, the persecution of the church in Mexico.
- 13:46But anyway, the Feast of Christ the King comes from that, the idea to remind people who is king.
- 13:58And you know, when you listen to Erica Kirk, and she talks about her husband
- 14:05and the movement he started and so forth and their faith.
- 14:10It very much echoes that whole thing.
- 14:15And we have to remember that, take a look at the name Charlie Kirk, Charles Kirk.
- 14:22Charles means strong. You know, we had in our Catholic Church itself,
- 14:28Charlemagne, Charles the Hammer.
- 14:30And Charles means strong. And Kirk, of course, is the English word,
- 14:36Old English word for church.
- 14:39And so the name itself means strong church. And there isn't any doubt that Charlie Kirk died a martyr.
- 14:47And we have to remember that Catholicism teaches that the blood of the martyrs
- 14:54is the seed of the church.
- 14:55And you're right about his wife when she says that this movement will come back
- 15:01stronger than ever before.
- 15:04And Charlie would be more powerful as a martyr than he was in real life.
- 15:10And his assassin didn't kill Charlie.
- 15:12He just made the people who have been following Charlie more determined to carry
- 15:18on the work that Charlie was doing.
- 15:20I think she mentioned that the world is, you know, we're at the mercy of that
- 15:28we're at war. This is a war.
- 15:30Yes, it is a war. She said the battlefield. She said, you know,
- 15:35it will be a battlefield.
- 15:37And we are on a battlefield, and we're in battle.
- 15:41And that's what Pope Leo XIII reminded us.
- 15:44And I think that, I hope our new Pope, Leo XIV, reminds us that we are in battle.
- 15:51And people forget that. And we have maybe too many clergy and too many bishops
- 15:56and so forth in the country who want to sort of quiet things down. No.
- 16:02People need to be reminded as Christians, you are in battle.
- 16:06You know, defend us in battle. We are in battle. And you need to pick up your
- 16:11sword and join the fight because you're in a war.
- 16:15And that's the way things are. Take a look around you. And just as soon as we
- 16:19slack off, you can see what happens to the world.
- 16:22So we're going to come back here and read this article from the Remnant newspaper
- 16:27entitled, Christ the King Must Be Re-Crowned to Save the World by Andrew Pollard.
- 16:35And it starts off with, Christ the King has been un-crowned.
- 16:38So we'll read from that when we come back here in the next section.
- 16:41So stay with us. We'll be right back. You've been listening to Being Catholic

- 18:41Hi, this is Bob Johnston. You're listening to Being Catholic right here on Catholic Spirit Radio.
- 18:46We're back from our break, and we're going to talk about Christ the King and
- 18:51Christ the King must be re-crowned to save the world.
- 18:54An article, as I said, in the Remnant newspaper, and it's the,
- 19:00I should have said what issue it is, it's the current issue,
- 19:04August 31st issue, and it's by a man I don't know, Andrew Pollard,
- 19:13but it's a very good article, and so I'll go ahead and start reading from it.
- 19:17And it says, Christ the King has been uncrowned. The greatest disaster to befall
- 19:22the world has been the uncrowning of Christ the King,
- 19:26the abandonment by much of the world of belief in Jesus Christ as King of all
- 19:30individuals and of all civil authorities.
- 19:34This rebellion by individuals and governments against Christ the King has led
- 19:38to a rejection of true beliefs and the acceptance of false ideas and ideologies.
- 19:43Most seriously, it has resulted in a dying world.
- 19:47In the past, the doctrine of Christ the King was a crucial Catholic belief,
- 19:53which thought that Jesus Christ is King of all individuals in the world,
- 19:58individual kingship, including Catholics, non-Catholics, and non-Christians.
- 20:03Christ is also king of all civil authorities, collective or social kingship.
- 20:08Not only has the world rejected Christ the King, it has also denied the teachings
- 20:13of Christ's Holy Church, the Catholic Church, and excluded it from the active
- 20:17life of countries, a grave and destructive error.
- 20:21Tragically, in the modern world, man has crowned himself in place of Jesus Christ.
- 20:27God the State and God the Man have replaced Christ the King and the teaching
- 20:32of the Catholic Church with false secular ideas.
- 20:35The results are appalling.
- 20:38Human beings are destroying their countries and their civilizations.
- 20:41In 1925, Pope Pius XI promulgated the Encilical Qua Primus to remind the world
- 20:50that Christ reigns above all earthly rulers.
- 20:53In the Encyclical, the Pope lamented that Jesus Christ and his holy law was
- 20:58being thrust out of people's lives.
- 21:00The world has rejected Christ's teaching that all power in heaven and earth has been given to me.
- 21:07Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations in the world,
- 21:11baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost,
- 21:16and teach them to observe the command I gave you.
- 21:19Christ's rejection from everyday life dates back centuries to the Reformation
- 21:25and the French Revolution.
- 21:27The Declaration of the Rights of Man rejected the social reign of our Lord Jesus
- 21:32Christ and replaced it with the heresy that all power resides in the people.
- 21:38And I'm sure people out there have heard that before, you know, power to the people.
- 21:42You've heard that, especially communist nations. But we've heard it right here in this country.
- 21:46And in the French Revolution? and in the French Revolution as well, Glenn's right.
- 21:51It rejected the words of St. Paul that there is no authority but from God alone.
- 21:57Pope Pius had hoped that the new feast of Christ the King would increase people's
- 22:02faith in Jesus Christ and in his holy Catholic Church, the kingdom of Christ on earth.
- 22:07The doctrine of Christ the King emphasizes the truth of the Catholic faith and
- 22:12the falsehood of false religions.
- 22:15Yet the Pope, were he alive today, would be horrified to discover that since
- 22:201925, the power and authority of Christ and his Holy Church have declined substantially.
- 22:27Many of Christ's commands and those of his Church are ignored and replaced by
- 22:32false secular beliefs and government policies contrary to Catholic teaching
- 22:37and to objective reality,
- 22:39despite Christ's warning to his disciples that, if you love me, keep my commandments.
- 22:45Christ the King has even been uncrowned by part of the Catholic Church itself,
- 22:50which has largely turned its back on traditional Catholic doctrine regarding Christ the King.
- 22:56In some parts of the Catholic Church, even the teaching of the social reign
- 23:01of Jesus Christ has been forbidden.
- 23:03Pope Pius XI established the Feast of Christ the King to be celebrated on the
- 23:09last Sunday in October, yet in 1969, less than 50 years after the promulgation of Qua Primus.
- 23:18Paul VI replaced the Feast of Christ the King with a solemnity called Jesus
- 23:23Christ, King of the Universe, which is celebrated at the end of the Church's
- 23:28liturgical year, towards the end of November.
- 23:31Paul VI also replaced many of the prayers and hymns in the original Mass of
- 23:36Christ the King and in the breviary.
- 23:39Previously, these prayers had focused on the here and now, but in the new solemnity,
- 23:44the emphasis of the revised prayers is on the end times.
- 23:48For example, in a hymn from the Vespers for the traditional feast of Christ
- 23:53the King were the words, The wicked mob screams out, We don't want Christ as King,
- 23:59while we, with shouts of joy, hail thee as the world's supreme king.
- 24:05Both the above two lines were discarded in 1969.
- 24:09Also abandoned were verses of other hymns which had clearly spelt out the traditional
- 24:15doctrine of Christ's kingship and which authorities in the 1960s considered outdated.
- 24:21Today, only in the traditional Mass, based on the 1962 calendar,
- 24:27do we find the original prayers for the Feast of Christ the King still included
- 24:32and the Mass still celebrated on the date originally established by Pope Pius XI.
- 24:38Most governments in the present world have rejected the social kingship of Jesus
- 24:43Christ, despite Pope Pius XI emphasizing in Qua Primus that it would be a grave
- 24:49error to say that Christ has no authority whatever in civil affairs.
- 24:53Heads of nations should not neglect the public duty of reverence and obedience to the rule of Christ.
- 25:00Disastrous consequences of uncrowning Christ the king happen.
- 25:06Pope Pius taught in Qua Primus that uncrowning Christ the King and rejecting
- 25:13the teaching of His Holy Church would have deplorable consequences.
- 25:17All beliefs, true and false, secular and religious, have consequences,
- 25:22and beliefs which reject the true teaching of Christ the King conflict with
- 25:26the objective reality and end up leading to serious negative outcomes,
- 25:31even to the collapse and dying of some of the largest countries in the world.
- 25:36Where Jesus Christ does not reign, there is inevitably disorder,
- 25:40death, and dying countries.
- 25:42We cannot reject the commands of Christ and His Catholic Church without inflicting
- 25:47serious damage on ourselves.
- 25:49Christ has all power and authority and has complete supremacy over all the world,
- 25:54but God has also given human beings the free will to reject His commands.
- 26:01Uncrowning Christ the King leads inevitably to self-inflicted destruction.
- 26:08Human beings have separated themselves from reality, and boy, that's certainly true.
- 26:13And as a result, believe all kinds of false beliefs, religions,
- 26:19delusions, and ideologies.
- 26:21If our beliefs do not conform to the objective truth, appalling results will
- 26:26inevitably follow, and they certainly are following.
- 26:30Consider the crucial area of human fertility.
- 26:33Many governments around the world have introduced free access to reproductive
- 26:37health services, a euphemism for contraception and abortion,
- 26:42in direct contradiction to the doctrines of the Catholic Church,
- 26:46which teaches that they are both grave sins.
- 26:49As a result, many countries today are suffering from deadly beliefs and behavior about fertility.
- 26:56In most Western countries, many believe that contraception and abortion are
- 27:00human rights, even though they lead inescapably to dying countries.
- 27:05These so-called reproductive health services are significantly undermining the
- 27:10economic and social foundations of many countries.
- 27:14And that's one thing that Charlie Kirk emphasized was for young kids in college.
- 27:20He said, get married, you know, even if you can't afford it.
- 27:23He said, get married and have a bigger family than you can afford.
- 27:27You know, be fertile, be fruitful and multiply.
- 27:31Much of the current world is dying from a new, more deadly variant of the Black
- 27:36Death, far worse than the bubonic plague that killed a third of Europe,
- 27:40the population in the 14th century.
- 27:45Today, they're dying from a worldwide plague of false beliefs and behavior,
- 27:51which have led to below-replacement fertility, less than 2.1 children per woman.
- 27:59Which leads to dying countries.
- 28:02The majority of countries in the world, such as China, South Korea,
- 28:06and several countries in Europe, including the UK,
- 28:10are currently suffering from massive collapses in fertility and huge slumps
- 28:16in working populations.
- 28:18Japan's population is collapsing. Even the USA's fertility is below replacement
- 28:24fertility, caused largely by contraception and abortion, and by lifestyles with
- 28:30sub-replacement fertility.
- 28:32Human beings have also uncrowned Christ the King by disobeying His commands
- 28:37and those of His Holy Church about marriage, children, pornography, and education, etc.
- 28:44Countries have fallen into an abyss of false beliefs, heresies, apostasy, and sin.
- 28:51Rejecting the social reign of Jesus Christ leads to below-replacement fertility.
- 28:55The more fertility levels fall below replacement, the faster countries die.
- 29:03According to research carried out in recent years by Fr.
- 29:06Donald Closters in the USA and published in Lifestyle News,
- 29:12Novus Ordo Catholics have much lower levels of fertility compared with traditional
- 29:17Latin mass Catholics and very much higher levels of abortion and contraception.
- 29:23Pope Pius XI observed in Qua Primus, Human society is tottering to its fall
- 29:29because it no longer has a secure and solid foundation.
- 29:34The Pope wrote these prophetic words 100 years ago in 1925.
- 29:40Unlike future generations, he understood the disastrous consequences of rejecting
- 29:46the individual and collective kingship of Christ.
- 29:50Christ the King must be re-crowned to save the world.
- 29:55The only way to save previously Catholic countries from dying is to re-crown
- 30:00Christ the King by a worldwide traditional Catholic renaissance,
- 30:05or as Pope Pius X describes it, the restoration of all things in Christ.
- 30:12In countries that are largely non-Catholic, Christ must be crowned by evangelizing
- 30:18them with the traditional Catholic faith.
- 30:20Christ is not only king of our hearts and souls, consciences,
- 30:26intelligence, and wills, but also of our families, cities, peoples, and countries.
- 30:32Not only private individuals, but also rulers in all countries are bound to
- 30:37give public honor and obedience to Christ.
- 30:41Today, qua primus is as important as it was when it was first proclaimed 100 years ago.
- 30:48The world simply cannot survive the uncrowning of Christ the King.
- 30:52Christ must conquer, Christ must reign, and Christ must command.
- 30:57All human beings must obey the commands of Christ the King.
- 31:01And Charlie Kirk certainly taught that. Disaster follows if Christ's Church
- 31:08and a state do not jointly promote the Catholic faith.
- 31:11Moral laws must conform to the traditional teaching of the Catholic Church.
- 31:17Contraception and abortion must be rejected, and traditional marriage,
- 31:24which considers the primary purpose of lifelong marriage to be the rearing of
- 31:29children, must be reestablished.
- 31:32True religion is about the real world. It is not a religious fantasy.
- 31:37And boy, are we ever living in a world fantasy. I mean, this idea,
- 31:42and Charlie Kirk opposed it, that people can somehow change gender,
- 31:46that men can become women and women can become men.
- 31:50I mean, these things are simply not true and not possible.
- 31:54I mean, we used to go to movies when we were kids, you know,
- 31:58that were scary and funny at the same time.
- 32:01And entertaining, you know, with Bela Lugosi or Lon Chaney, where someone could
- 32:07change into, you know, a man could change into a wolf, werewolf movies,
- 32:12the Wolfman, and the Dracula movies, where Bela Lugosi could change into a bat
- 32:18and so forth and all of that.
- 32:21And today, we're actually believing in that stuff and being forced to believe
- 32:26in that stuff. Like I said earlier, at some point, people are going to be persecuted
- 32:30if they simply proclaim that the grass is green.
- 32:34And that is something that one of our Catholic converts, G.K.
- 32:39Chesterton, a very famous Catholic convert and writer, said that at some point
- 32:45in time, people will be persecuted for simply observing that the grass is green.
- 32:54I mean, Charlie was being persecuted for simply observing that men are men and women are women.
- 33:01Belief in Christ the King is not just a pious religious practice with nothing
- 33:06to do with everyday life, but a truth with concrete material consequences,
- 33:11and you can see them happening around you.
- 33:14Jesus Christ really is King of the world, even if we don't believe that He is.
- 33:20Rejection of Jesus Christ and his holy church leads to fantasies, delusions, and sin.
- 33:26And boy, I'll tell you, take a look at right, Lynn, at all of the fantasies
- 33:31and delusions that we're living in today.
- 33:34I mean, people have this term, the dark ages.
- 33:39And I can't remember the name of the man who actually coined that phrase.
- 33:46Isn't it the one that wrote the history of Rome? No, it wasn't him, actually.
- 33:52I mean, he used it, but there was another man that actually coined it.
- 33:57And I can't remember his name right now off the top of my head.
- 34:02But it was such a, you know, got something like that.
- 34:07Sometimes, you know, it gets picked up and used, and it's simply not true at
- 34:11all. Take a look at our age.
- 34:13Talk about an age that is superstitious. In the 21st century here,
- 34:17we are becoming the most superstitious and absolutely the most delusionous people
- 34:22that ever existed on the face of the earth in believing in stuff that is absolutely fantastic.
- 34:29And you know what? One of the signs of that is tattoos, the marking of the body. Yes, it is. It is.
- 34:40It is. Tattoos and art are when art starts to change and become fantastic and so forth.
- 34:45This is true. It says here, Christ must reign in China, India,
- 34:52and Japan just as much as in formerly Catholic countries.
- 34:56The Catholic faith must be the basis of public law and public policy in all countries.
- 35:02The state must recognize the truth of Catholicism, not because it wants to,
- 35:07but because there is no other set of beliefs that conform to objective reality.
- 35:12And I've said on this show so many times, It was the Catholic Church that built Western civilization,
- 35:18science and the universities and civilization and law and everything else because
- 35:23it looks at the world through the lens of objectivity and reality.
- 35:31It's the first religion that incorporates the entire universe and makes sense out of it.
- 35:39And we're going to have to stop here and take a break, so stay with us.

- 37:43Hi, this is Bob Johnston. You're listening to Being Catholic right here on Catholic Spirit Radio.
- 37:48We're back from our break, and we're talking about Christ the King,
- 37:52and Christ the King must be recrowned to save the world.
- 37:56And the fact is, is that I've said so many times on this show and taught so
- 38:02many times all through the shows that we've had here, that it was the Catholic
- 38:07Church that built Western civilization.
- 38:10And the fact is, is that if you look at the preaching and teaching of Charlie
- 38:16Kirk, he had a lot of Catholicism in his soul and in what he said and what he taught.
- 38:24And the fact is also is even though we as Catholics teach that,
- 38:28of course, the church preceded the Bible, we don't teach that the church comes from the Bible.
- 38:34We teach that the Bible comes from the church.
- 38:37Nevertheless, the Bible, we believe that New Testament and the Old Testament
- 38:42are God-breathed, along with our Protestant friends.
- 38:45And the fact is that you can learn a tremendous amount from Scripture.
- 38:49And if you study it, and especially if you study it through the eyes of the church,
- 38:56and Charlie directing people to join a church and his wife, you know,
- 39:03emphasizing a biblical church, a church that emphasizes the Bible,
- 39:08and I would assume that that means to try and
- 39:11study it as thoroughly as Charlie did
- 39:14and try to look at the Bible in a very
- 39:19intelligent way and understand it in that way and realize that there are difficult
- 39:26books to understand and it's not something you can just pick up and read and
- 39:33understand without help.
- 39:35But the point is that it is getting people back to looking at church,
- 39:41looking at Christianity and looking at Scripture,
- 39:44and we as Catholics need to emphasize the fact that the church incorporates all of that.
- 39:51It has from the very time of Christ, and that the Catholic church is the church
- 39:56that Christ founded from the very beginning.
- 39:59But we have a lot in common with our Protestant friends, and Charlie had a lot
- 40:05in common with our Catholicism, and our vice president, J.D.
- 40:11Vance, of course, was Protestant who changed over to Catholicism,
- 40:15I think, especially from an intellectual point of view.
- 40:20And so there's a lot in common that we have. And the more that we can come together
- 40:26and stand as one and stand unified, and I think Charlie, in what he was doing,
- 40:33was helping along those lines.
- 40:35And Catholicism can add a lot to it, but we have to remember that we are in
- 40:41battle and that we have a mission,
- 40:46and that is to hand on through Catholic tradition what Christ gave to the apostles,
- 40:52and they handed on down to us,
- 40:55and it's our duty to hand on to others.
- 40:57The world urgently needs a traditional Catholic renaissance and regeneration,
- 41:03I'll say it again, and the evangelization of the non-Catholic world.
- 41:10The traditional Catholic faith is the vital heartbeat of the world.
- 41:14In the last 70 years, much of the world has suffered the equivalent of a massive heart attack.
- 41:20In other words, the Catholic faith incorporates much of all the different Protestant
- 41:29faiths because they're all derivatives from it.
- 41:32And to the extent that they're closer to it and to its core teachings, the stronger they are.
- 41:41True religion must be restored and transmitted throughout the world for the
- 41:46survival of the human race.
- 41:48God will not abandon us, but those who abandon him will perish.
- 41:54Human beings must look for the peace
- 41:57of Christ in the kingdom of Christ by restoring the empire of our Lord.
- 42:02Pius XI emphasized in Qua Primus that Christ and His Church,
- 42:07the Catholic Church, is the one and only source of salvation.
- 42:12And we need to start remembering that.
- 42:15Christ Himself declared, no one comes to the Father except through me.
- 42:23That's so true and you know when you talk about charlie kirk and vice president vance they both,
- 42:33were very involved in reading and not involved were very interested in what
- 42:39the church fathers had said and wrote and i think this is what brought vance
- 42:45to the catholic church Yes,
- 42:47I think so. And they were very good friends.
- 42:50And, you know, at one time, President Trump was very close to Catholicism.
- 42:56There were some things that came in between, and I can see why that I can't
- 43:02get into right now. But at any rate, Christ himself declared,
- 43:07no one comes through the Father except through me. St.
- 43:09John, in the early third century, St.
- 43:14Cyprian of Carthage taught, outside the Catholic Church, there is no salvation.
- 43:18Now, the Catholic Church, of course, is a huge, huge organization and incorporates much.
- 43:26And much of what our Protestant friends have, they took with them from the Catholic
- 43:32Church when they left it.
- 43:34So they have much of what the Catholic Church teaches.
- 43:37And it's scattered throughout the various denominations of Protestantism.
- 43:43They need to come back closer and closer to the Catholic Church.
- 43:47Christ taught his disciples in truth. I tell you, whatever you bind on earth
- 43:52will be bound in heaven. whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
- 43:56And the fact is, is that Christ uses, you know, I'm sure Christ was using Charlie
- 44:01Kirk, and Christ uses men everywhere.
- 44:06And what Charlie had was one thing that the Catholics need to have,
- 44:11and that he's a very, very strong and determined faith.
- 44:16And the idea and understanding that we are in battle.
- 44:20We're at war. His wife understands that. that we as Catholics have to understand that we are in battle.
- 44:25You know, when we say that in the church, St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
- 44:31And we need to understand that. Take a look around you. We're at war,
- 44:35and we had to be better prepared for war.
- 44:38Current restrictions on the traditional Catholic liturgy in the Catholic Church
- 44:42must be completely removed.
- 44:44As Pope Pius XI said in Qua Primus, in Christ is the salvation of the individual,
- 44:52in Christ is the salvation of society.
- 44:55Both the individual and society. We're not individually saved.
- 44:59That's one thing that the Catholic Church emphasizes, I think,
- 45:02perhaps more than our Protestant friends.
- 45:04The salvation is not just an individual thing, it's also a social thing.
- 45:09Jesus Christ must reign, otherwise countries will die.
- 45:13Japan is the world's fourth largest economy, but its population is collapsing
- 45:19because of very low births, which are well below replacement level and from
- 45:24over a million abortions a year.
- 45:26Just imagine that, a million citizens a year being killed by abortion.
- 45:33Young traditional Catholics have begun crowning Christ the King.
- 45:38And the fact is, is Charlie was part of this. Charlie was part of a movement
- 45:42of restoring Christ to his proper stature.
- 45:45The world may be dying, but there is some good news, despite the current serious
- 45:50collapse of many parts of the Catholic Church.
- 45:53A traditional Catholic renaissance has been growing in recent years,
- 45:57both in the New World as well as in the Old.
- 46:01One notable example is the annual Char pilgrimage in France,
- 46:06which has grown since the early 1980s to become probably the biggest traditional
- 46:11Catholic pilgrimage in the world.
- 46:13And I think that's one thing the church needs to start emphasizing again, don't you, Lynn?
- 46:18Oh, definitely. Pilgrimages and processions. Yes.
- 46:21And, you know, in the traditional, those that celebrate the Latin rite of the
- 46:26church, it's still very prevalent there.
- 46:29For example, up in LaSalle, Peru, up north of us here about an hour, right up 39.
- 46:38They have the traditional Mass there, and on the Holy Days, not only the Holy Days.
- 46:49Like Our Lady of Sorrows is going to be celebrated this week.
- 46:53They are going to have a procession and a meal together in the Latin Mass.
- 47:00And they do this frequently.
- 47:02That's good because the procession represents the fact that we are on a journey.
- 47:08Yeah. You're going towards Christ.
- 47:10We are going right towards the heaven coming down to touch the earth.
- 47:14And at Mass, heaven comes down to touch the earth at the altar.
- 47:17And we have to start understanding that we're beginning to know,
- 47:21I'm going to do a show here, and Lynn's going to, you know, with me.
- 47:25We're starting to learn something about where consciousness comes from.
- 47:29It doesn't necessarily come from the cortex of the brain at all.
- 47:34And there are things in the universe that may actually impart consciousness
- 47:39to and through the brain to our human bodies.
- 47:42The universe is more mysterious than we think. and we need to start understanding
- 47:46this and religion is an important part of it.
- 47:49It's almost instinctive. And the forces that work against religion are forces
- 47:53trying to go against that.
- 47:56There's a lot that we humans in the 21st century are ignorant of that people
- 48:03in earlier centuries took for granted.
- 48:05We need to start relearning a lot of these things.
- 48:08We're not as smart as we think we are. Take a look at the world around us,
- 48:12what's happening to it. And it's fucking coming on and falling apart. Exactly, my God.
- 48:17And this battle that Erica Kirk said is spiritual.
- 48:24Yes. It's not just a physical battle. It's a spiritual battle as well.
- 48:28And we have to understand we're in the battle one way or another.
- 48:33You know, modern man discards that whole idea that man is not the God.
- 48:43Really, I mean, we think we can create life, my God, look at.
- 48:51We don't even know what it is. No, and we have this artificial intelligence.
- 48:57It's not intelligent. It doesn't even know what it's doing. Yeah.
- 49:01In 2025, for three days during Pentecost, more than 20,000 pilgrims,
- 49:06mostly under 20 years old, walked, sang, and suffered the 70 miles from Paris to Char.
- 49:12They recited the rosary, went to confession, took part in nighttime adoration,
- 49:17and above all, they assisted at the three traditional Masses in reverent silence.
- 49:22The first Scharer pilgrims in 1982 were locked out of Scharer Cathedral by church authorities.
- 49:28In 2025, Rome tried to force the pilgrimage to use the Novus Ordo and to ban
- 49:33the traditional Latin Mass, but the lay organization that runs the pilgrimage firmly refused.
- 49:39The huge increase in the number of pilgrims on the Scharer pilgrimage reflects
- 49:43a growing Catholic Renaissance, in the traditional Latin Mass,
- 49:47and in traditional Catholic doctrines.
- 49:49A regeneration which is not just happening in France, but also taking place in other countries too.
- 49:55The world has begun to recover from the terrible disaster of the uncrowning of Christ the King.
- 50:00The recrowning of Jesus Christ has started. And Charlie was part of that movement,
- 50:06the recrowning of Christ the King, starting in the college campuses and moving
- 50:11through the United States and throughout the world.
- 50:14And this is what the opposition is terrified of.
- 50:19The fact that more and more young kids are realizing that the path that we've
- 50:24taken in the last 50 years or 60 or 70 years of modernity is not the right one.
- 50:30And they're beginning to lose their power and their control and it terrifies them.
- 50:36And so they magnify their attacks against us in that respect.
- 50:43And we have to start understanding that and we have to start building in resistance to it.
- 50:50Anything more that you want to say along those lines? I think that we all need
- 50:56to recognize, of course, that we are in battle, that we are dependent on God.
- 51:02God doesn't depend on us, but I think in the modern man's mind,
- 51:09that God is only there because man created him. It's just the opposite.
- 51:15And isn't that what Paul taught? And I always forget what verse that's in the Bible.
- 51:23We are against, our enemy is not people, individuals, but principalities. Yes. Yeah, exactly.
- 51:30That and in the end times, what's going to happen?
- 51:35Paul had said 2,000 some years ago, what was going to happen?
- 51:40Man would not know good from evil. Yeah.
- 51:45And evil for good. Man, not only he would not know it, but he would confuse
- 51:50evil for good and good for evil.
- 51:52He would call evil good and good evil.
- 51:55Yes. And that's exactly what we're doing.
- 51:58Yes. I mean, Charlie Kirk was condemned by the forces that opposed him as an evil man. Mm-hmm.
- 52:05And, you know. It's his fault he's dead because he was evil.
- 52:09Right, because he was evil. He asked for it. Right.
- 52:14And that, that's pathetic when people. Minds are clouded and warped and darkened.
- 52:20And, you know, we can live in a darkened world. And the darkened world that
- 52:24happens when we abandon the very principles that built our civilization in the first place.
- 52:30Yeah, because we think you're so smart.
- 52:33You won't know good from evil. The principles about light brought light to the
- 52:38world and, you know, overcame the darkness. I mean in these dark times,
- 52:45If you want to talk about the, as I've said many, many times,
- 52:49you want to talk about the dark ages, the dark ages after Rome fell,
- 52:54those ages were overcome by Christianity. Christianity brought the light.
- 52:59Christianity brought with it all of the accoutrements of civilization. Right.
- 53:06And when you start seeing the evil things and so forth that are done,
- 53:11even in modernity and by modern man, it is Christianity that brought those things.
- 53:17Those things were always there. It's Christianity that overcame them.
- 53:20We can see with the abandonment of Christianity, this so-called utopian world
- 53:25that was supposed to result is not resulting at all. Things are growing worse.
- 53:30And we're using our power for evil instead of good.
- 53:34And I don't know how anybody could be not aware that things are building faster
- 53:42and faster. It's like that snowball.
- 53:46The rock that goes down carries no moss. It goes faster and faster and faster.
- 53:53We're going to have to stop here and say our prayer.
- 53:57I think that at the beginning of the Gospel of John, what did he say?
- 54:03In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God.
- 54:07And the Word was God. And the Word was God.
- 54:10And nothing will prevail against it. It's the gist of it.
- 54:14So we've got to keep that in mind, too. We won't be here next week.
- 54:19But the week after, maybe we'll start with talking about how the human mind
- 54:24works and how it may be in contact with the universe itself. Right.
- 54:30St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. be our protection against the
- 54:34wickedness and snares of the devil.
- 54:36May God rebuke and humbly pray, and do thou, Prince of the heavenly host,
- 54:42by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all evil spirits who wander
- 54:47through the world for the ruin of souls.
