- 0:06Speaker 1: Y'all know what time of y'all don't know. Y'all back
- 0:14Speaker 1: a suit, looking back the back down, giving them more
- 0:19Speaker 1: like the milking buck things in its tub. Y'all me
- 0:24Speaker 1: good it sehen to the movie together for study. I
- 0:43Speaker 1: don't join, join me, be doing me. Honey, you gotta
- 1:06Speaker 1: turn you gotta turn the turnout. Turn got the turnout
- 1:49Speaker 1: the turn turn water to the water, go me come
- 2:02Speaker 1: come on, uh huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody
- 2:09Speaker 1: you're listening to the voice, Come on now, dig me
- 2:14Speaker 1: want and only Steve Harvey got what radio show man?
- 2:20Speaker 1: What you're doing with it? Trying to do the very
- 2:23Speaker 1: very best I can with it? I really am. You know,
- 2:26Speaker 1: I get tired sometimes on my journey. I'm not gonna
- 2:29Speaker 1: kid you. UM. Trying to make something out yourself is
- 2:35Speaker 1: a task. UM. If you want to attempt to do
- 2:40Speaker 1: something and and and understand going in that that the
- 2:46Speaker 1: if the thing you're trying to do is to improve yourself,
- 2:50Speaker 1: to better your position, to better your relationship, your family, anything,
- 2:56Speaker 1: you're trying to be a better you. You're trying to
- 2:59Speaker 1: make more money, you're trying to get it together, you're
- 3:03Speaker 1: trying to change if any of those things are in
- 3:08Speaker 1: your hopes and dreams. Know this right here, you are
- 3:13Speaker 1: about to face some challenges. But you might as well
- 3:18Speaker 1: go ahead anyway and face those challenges, because if you don't,
- 3:23Speaker 1: you have a whole other set of challenges to face.
- 3:27Speaker 1: You know, it's a it's a It's an amazing thing. Man,
- 3:30Speaker 1: How people sit around and they watch other people strike
- 3:34Speaker 1: out to become successful. They sit in the stands watching
- 3:37Speaker 1: these people play out these games, and they and they
- 3:41Speaker 1: and they criticize, They boo, they laugh at their efforts
- 3:44Speaker 1: and everything, and they talk about the fairies. He missed
- 3:48Speaker 1: that game when it shot. Boy, he sucked. Man, he
- 3:51Speaker 1: did this. He ain't worth that man high in the world.
- 3:54Speaker 1: She stepped on that line right or that man she
- 3:56Speaker 1: can't shooting. She made a shot all day. Man, you
- 4:00Speaker 1: see this guy, everybody dunking on him. This dude right here, Man,
- 4:04Speaker 1: he ain't he ain't he ain't been on base in
- 4:06Speaker 1: thirty five games. Man, This dude right here ain't nothing.
- 4:09Speaker 1: They're paying him all that money. I hear people who
- 4:14Speaker 1: sit and stands who criticize people who are out there
- 4:19Speaker 1: on the playing field. Now, when you're on the playing field,
- 4:24Speaker 1: you have a set of challenges in front of you.
- 4:27Speaker 1: You're going to be open to criticism. You're going to
- 4:30Speaker 1: be open to ridicule. You're going to be talked about
- 4:34Speaker 1: when you don't know the people who are talking about you. Now,
- 4:42Speaker 1: here's the upside to being the player on the field
- 4:46Speaker 1: that's facing all the challenges, to criticisms, the laughing, the joke,
- 4:50Speaker 1: to being talked about. He has something going for him.
- 4:57Speaker 1: This person, boy, woman, ch our girl, man has an
- 5:02Speaker 1: opportunity to win. They have an opportunity to win. And
- 5:09Speaker 1: then the game of life. Just because you lose one
- 5:14Speaker 1: of the games, or you lose one of the matches,
- 5:17Speaker 1: it don't mean you've lost. You don't get put out.
- 5:20Speaker 1: You keep playing. And when you're playing, here's the upside.
- 5:26Speaker 1: You have the opportunity to win. And but guess what,
- 5:29Speaker 1: You're gonna win some of the matches. You're gonna win
- 5:32Speaker 1: some of the points. You're gonna make some of the dunks.
- 5:34Speaker 1: You're gonna hit some of them over the wall. You're
- 5:36Speaker 1: gonna hit some of out the park. You're gonna score
- 5:39Speaker 1: some goals. You will if you're playing the game. Here's
- 5:44Speaker 1: a problem with the people who don't face criticism, who
- 5:49Speaker 1: nobody boos or cheers for who sits in the stands
- 5:55Speaker 1: and knows neither victory nor defeat. The old people, without
- 6:01Speaker 1: realizing it, are facing a set of challenges also, And
- 6:06Speaker 1: the challenges they're facing is how I'm gonna live with myself?
- 6:13Speaker 1: What I'm gonna do? Now? What direction am I going in?
- 6:20Speaker 1: Where am I gonna live? Wonder what job will hire me?
- 6:28Speaker 1: I wonder if I can get paid for criticize? Oh
- 6:33Speaker 1: woe is me? I can't find the purpose in my life.
- 6:40Speaker 1: And man, I'm just waking up in a state of confusion.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I don't know what to do. Now, let me ask
- 6:46Speaker 1: you something, which one of them set of challenges you
- 6:48Speaker 1: better be faced with? Because if I'm on the flow playing,
- 6:53Speaker 1: if I'm on the field playing, if I'm out on
- 6:55Speaker 1: the court playing, then guess what I got a chance
- 6:59Speaker 1: that in it? But guess what I'm doing every day
- 7:02Speaker 1: while I'm playing. I'm strategizing. I'm waking up with a purpose.
- 7:06Speaker 1: I'm waking up trying to come up with another angle.
- 7:11Speaker 1: I'm in pursuit of a goal every single day. Versus
- 7:17Speaker 1: the people in the stands who know neither victory nor defeat.
- 7:26Speaker 1: But they got the nerve to boot. They got the
- 7:30Speaker 1: nerve to criticize any time I see him, He got
- 7:34Speaker 1: that on anytime. And he think he does, he think,
- 7:36Speaker 1: do you know people like that? Of course you do.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Now you gotta you gotta make sure though that you're
- 7:43Speaker 1: not the person that we're talking about. Get on the field,
- 7:49Speaker 1: get on the court, get in the game. Face the challenges.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Better yourself, better your wife, better your children, better your condition,
- 7:58Speaker 1: better your employments. That it's better your job, better your career,
- 8:02Speaker 1: start your business, man, invest take a shot. Come on, man,
- 8:06Speaker 1: what you're waiting on? Because the alternative is to watch
- 8:10Speaker 1: other people play the game? You know what I just do?
- 8:14Speaker 1: Sometimes sometimes I just I get Forbes magazine or Money magazine,
- 8:19Speaker 1: or sometimes I still grab a copy of rob Report.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I just flipped through it just to see. I used
- 8:26Speaker 1: to get these this book called Unique Homes. Unique Homes
- 8:30Speaker 1: is a magazine that just has a lot of extravagant
- 8:33Speaker 1: houses that's on sale across the country, across the world.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I used to flip through. Man, let me just see, man,
- 8:40Speaker 1: what the people that's playing the game out there doing.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Stop watching other people become successful when you could very
- 8:47Speaker 1: easily be you if you make the decision. But when
- 8:51Speaker 1: you make the decision to become successful, get ready for
- 8:55Speaker 1: a series of challenges. But if you don't accept the challenge, man,
- 9:00Speaker 1: look at the challenge you face with. That's the hard part. Man.
- 9:05Speaker 1: For me, personally, I think it's harder to be nothing.
- 9:10Speaker 1: For me, personally, I think it's more difficult not to
- 9:13Speaker 1: accept the challenge. I think it's for me. This is
- 9:18Speaker 1: just for me. It may not be the case for you.
- 9:20Speaker 1: For me, I think it's far more difficult to wake
- 9:22Speaker 1: up and just see how life gonna go today, because man,
- 9:25Speaker 1: it could just deal you any kind of hand today.
- 9:30Speaker 1: You understand I don't like you know, spades. Let's talk
- 9:36Speaker 1: a card game, folks, the game of spades. Really, man,
- 9:39Speaker 1: it ain't a whole lot you can do if you
- 9:41Speaker 1: don't get no spades. Really, it's a little couple of
- 9:44Speaker 1: little strategies you're gonna do. But you can have all
- 9:47Speaker 1: this age, keen, queen diamond all you want. But man,
- 9:49Speaker 1: you ain't got no spades. They're cutting them. You're in trouble.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Be it whist different game. You can create what's in
- 9:57Speaker 1: your hand. You got dealt a hand too, But you
- 10:00Speaker 1: can create a hand. You can call a trump. You
- 10:03Speaker 1: can make diamonds your spades. You can make hard to
- 10:07Speaker 1: clubs your spades. That's what I'm saying. That's what it is.
- 10:09Speaker 1: You can do something with it. It's a different game, man.
- 10:12Speaker 1: You can strategize. I would rather have a say so
- 10:15Speaker 1: in my life than to wake up every day and
- 10:17Speaker 1: just see how it's going. I think it's more difficult
- 10:21Speaker 1: to not accept the challenge to be something than it
- 10:24Speaker 1: is to accept the challenge to be something. I think
- 10:26Speaker 1: it's more difficult to sit around and not be nothing.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I think it's harder to watch everybody's life going somewhere
- 10:33Speaker 1: but mine. I think it would be very difficult for
- 10:35Speaker 1: me to sit here and hear them talking about other
- 10:38Speaker 1: people and never mention my name. I would be difficult
- 10:40Speaker 1: for me to see everybody rising getting promotions accept me.
- 10:45Speaker 1: That would be difficult for me. It may not be
- 10:47Speaker 1: for you, but for me it would be quite challenging.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I would rather accept the challenge of making something out
- 10:53Speaker 1: of my life than to sit there and criticize those
- 10:56Speaker 1: and then watch and see how my life just may go. Okay,
- 11:00Speaker 1: that's the thought today. You're listening, man, I have your attention.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Please Steve Harvey Morning Show is now underway. We are excited,

- 12:15Speaker 1: Jay ain't here today because he's sometime. I'm gonna just
- 12:21Speaker 1: put that out. I work with him. Sometimes he's different,
- 12:26Speaker 1: love him, I love Jay. I don't know Jay. I
- 12:30Speaker 1: don't know if he gained any weight making bigger suits.
- 12:32Speaker 1: I don't know what he's doing losing weight either. Vegan man,
- 12:37Speaker 1: that's what y'all, thank you, well, that's what he says.
- 12:40Speaker 1: He says he misses chicken. You know, I don't understand
- 12:42Speaker 1: how you're gonna be a vegan and be unhealthy. You
- 12:45Speaker 1: might well gonna get yourself a burger. It really is
- 12:48Speaker 1: big vegans as well. Oh yeah, I mean, man, look,
- 12:52Speaker 1: because you're a vegan or because you're a vegetarian doesn't
- 12:58Speaker 1: mean you're eating healthy. Yeah, you can eat potato chip
- 13:01Speaker 1: so you're a vegan and eat pasta and not lose
- 13:04Speaker 1: any weight. You can eat a lot of carbs a lot.
- 13:07Speaker 1: You can eat a lot of carbs and and and
- 13:09Speaker 1: just blow the fact that you're thinking in terms of weight. Yeah,
- 13:14Speaker 1: that's jake, because I can't. I can't keep a bag
- 13:16Speaker 1: of chips to myself. Oh if you have something he's got,
- 13:19Speaker 1: he's gonna have some of your chip. Uh huh, give
- 13:23Speaker 1: me three him like that. I don't do that. I don't.
- 13:27Speaker 1: I don't share food with people. I can't eat. Can't
- 13:31Speaker 1: stick your hand in my bad Oh yeah, yeah, Well okay,
- 13:36Speaker 1: he says he's a vegan, and he says he misses chicken.
- 13:39Speaker 1: That's all I know. M I ain't a lie. I
- 13:42Speaker 1: even got me if he's chicken back, now, I ain't.
- 13:44Speaker 1: I wouldn't be waiting that long. That don't. But if
- 13:47Speaker 1: you make a commitment, if you make a commitment and
- 13:49Speaker 1: say to itself, well to someone okay, and you say
- 13:55Speaker 1: you're a vegan. Don't you have to live up to
- 13:57Speaker 1: that at least for a while. I'm to be a vegan.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Can you do it all the time? He do it
- 14:02Speaker 1: for about two weeks? And do what I do? Work
- 14:06Speaker 1: for about vegan? Oh yeah, I can't make the total
- 14:10Speaker 1: flip some meat. You'll be vegan on Doctor King Day? Uh, yeah,
- 14:20Speaker 1: I'm I'm not. Yeah, Yeah, I'm I'm I'm vegan. Next,
- 14:24Speaker 1: what's that I'm vegan to the next time? I like that?
- 14:30Speaker 1: All right, listen, coming up at thirty two after the hour,
- 14:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna ask the guys, um some questions. How would
- 14:37Speaker 1: you change television? We all love TV? How would you
- 14:39Speaker 1: change TV if you were in charge of a television network? Okay,
- 14:43Speaker 1: so honder on that and we'll talk about it right
- 14:46Speaker 1: after that. You're listening show, all right, as promised, it's
- 14:53Speaker 1: time for something funny. We're gonna talk about TV. We
- 14:55Speaker 1: talk about a lot on this show, what we watch,
- 14:57Speaker 1: what we love, what's going on with TV, and while
- 15:00Speaker 1: we're off the air we talk about it. So this
- 15:03Speaker 1: is to you, guys, how would you change television? Say,
- 15:06Speaker 1: if you were in charge of a TV network? Steve,
- 15:09Speaker 1: what would you get rid of? What would you add
- 15:12Speaker 1: since you're you know, into honestly, yeah, a lot more
- 15:16Speaker 1: blacks and Latinos. Yeah, diversity, yeah, no, non diversity, A
- 15:20Speaker 1: lot more, a lot more, yeah, diversity. Then they perfectly
- 15:26Speaker 1: comfortable where they are now. I think more. You need
- 15:29Speaker 1: a lot more blacks and a lot more Latinos on
- 15:32Speaker 1: TV and Asian Asians. Yeah, yea, yeah you really do, man.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I think television does does not look like America, No
- 15:43Speaker 1: until you get over their own reality TV, and then
- 15:46Speaker 1: I don't care for reality shows because that crypted. That
- 15:52Speaker 1: was going to be my second question, what shows? What
- 15:55Speaker 1: would you cancel? First? Where would you cancel? As a
- 15:57Speaker 1: TV exact? I would cancel any thing that shows black
- 16:01Speaker 1: women fighting on it because that's just not indicative of
- 16:05Speaker 1: how we really are as a race and a people.
- 16:09Speaker 1: And I don't care what they portray. But no group
- 16:11Speaker 1: of black women that I know with any fiber in
- 16:16Speaker 1: them at all get together with a group of friends
- 16:19Speaker 1: and fight every sad day, go out and just fight,
- 16:23Speaker 1: jumping on tables, slapping each other, throwing drinks on each other,
- 16:27Speaker 1: calling each other all out there, and then the next
- 16:30Speaker 1: weekend they back out again. What this doesn't It doesn't cool.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I just think it's bad for us. I would get
- 16:40Speaker 1: rid of that. What about you, Tommy, I would have
- 16:45Speaker 1: more of Ready to Love. Yes, I'd be picking up
- 16:50Speaker 1: a second season of that, because that's something you don't
- 16:52Speaker 1: want to miss, right there. Jesus, if you can hear
- 16:56Speaker 1: my cry lord that the please sit down and watch it.
- 17:04Speaker 1: You gotta check it out. It's good. I just get
- 17:06Speaker 1: to see clips. I don't watch TV. Yeah, but I
- 17:09Speaker 1: heard it's good. I think. But Tommy, come back or
- 17:15Speaker 1: not that it can be on? You know, yeah it can.
- 17:20Speaker 1: But I see now I see your whole side. You know,
- 17:23Speaker 1: I've been witching for my whole life. But now I
- 17:26Speaker 1: see the other side. Oh my god, just the whole everything.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I mean, we've done. It's been so many shows. It
- 17:35Speaker 1: was Steve Harvey Show, it was Steve Harvey big time.
- 17:39Speaker 1: It's been a bunch of things. Now I see this
- 17:42Speaker 1: side of it, like now I'm over here, Like, man,
- 17:45Speaker 1: I thought, I thought we did a good job. Why
- 17:47Speaker 1: ain't nobody hold iss nothing yet? Why? Hey, dog, you
- 17:50Speaker 1: can do you know that I'm in that. I'm in
- 17:52Speaker 1: that pocket now, Tommy, you could do a great job
- 17:55Speaker 1: on TV and be removed. Yeah, yeah, it's not about
- 17:59Speaker 1: and don't even let it affect your spirit or cause
- 18:05Speaker 1: you to think you're not this or that they make
- 18:08Speaker 1: piss poor decisions all the time. Hey, Steve, did that
- 18:13Speaker 1: happen with your first TV show? Me and the Boys?
- 18:16Speaker 1: My first TV show, Me and the Boys finished the
- 18:18Speaker 1: season at number twenty one. That was one hundred and
- 18:21Speaker 1: forty seven TV shows on TV at the time. One
- 18:25Speaker 1: hundred and forty seven shows got rated. We finished the
- 18:28Speaker 1: season number twenty one, the highest rated news show on ABC.
- 18:34Speaker 1: I was on with Roseanne, I was on with Brett Butler,
- 18:39Speaker 1: I was on with Tim Allen. We had a powerhouse
- 18:42Speaker 1: block of television. The producers of Home Improvement, Matt as
- 18:49Speaker 1: Williams I think that was his name, had a deal
- 18:51Speaker 1: with ABC where if he showed, which was Home Improvement,
- 18:55Speaker 1: finished in the top ten, he could have the time
- 18:57Speaker 1: slot behind him, which means he could produce another show
- 19:00Speaker 1: that dude could get very rich. So the time slot
- 19:03Speaker 1: behind Home Improvement was Me and the Boys, and it
- 19:07Speaker 1: finished the season at number twenty one. Well, they canceled
- 19:11Speaker 1: my show for new reason. Matt Williams new show that
- 19:16Speaker 1: he produced was starring Tony Danzer. So the next season,
- 19:19Speaker 1: instead of having on Me and the Boys, they put
- 19:23Speaker 1: on Hudson Street. Wow, was that before? Who's the Bosow? Yeah,
- 19:33Speaker 1: they put it on Hudson Street. Hudson Street finished the
- 19:36Speaker 1: season sixty six, so they gave up a twenty one
- 19:41Speaker 1: show to get a sixty six show. But the head
- 19:46Speaker 1: of the network at the time was Ted Harbor, really
- 19:52Speaker 1: cool guy man, and he gave me a holding deal,
- 19:55Speaker 1: a big holding deal. I went in and talked with
- 19:57Speaker 1: him and told him what I had to hear, and
- 19:58Speaker 1: he wrote the check for me, and I went back
- 20:01Speaker 1: to Texas and bought my first house. That's how I
- 20:03Speaker 1: bought my house with that holding chapel. He gave me
- 20:07Speaker 1: that much and I was able to buy a home
- 20:08Speaker 1: for the first time. And said after that, they resigned
- 20:12Speaker 1: me to a deal and sold it to the WB
- 20:15Speaker 1: and and Steve Harvey Show was born. Yeah. What kind
- 20:20Speaker 1: of advice would you give people that want to get
- 20:22Speaker 1: into TV? Like writing in it? I mean, it's a
- 20:26Speaker 1: great business, you know, it's it's a good business if
- 20:29Speaker 1: you can be successful at it. Uh. You know, basketball
- 20:34Speaker 1: is good if you can get in it and be
- 20:35Speaker 1: successful at it. Is not so good if you keep
- 20:38Speaker 1: getting cut. Yeah, so you know it's a it's a
- 20:41Speaker 1: good business. But I would say, don't get into it
- 20:45Speaker 1: because it's something you like to do. You should get
- 20:47Speaker 1: into it if you gifted at it. If you gifted,
- 20:49Speaker 1: you can make money and last a lot longer. If
- 20:51Speaker 1: you're doing it for a job, you're gonna be a
- 20:53Speaker 1: pa somewhere. There's a there's always a market for talented people.
- 20:58Speaker 1: It's just that we as African Americans. If we don't
- 21:02Speaker 1: hire a lot of African Americans, a lot of that
- 21:05Speaker 1: qualified African Americans won't get an opportunity. That's just the
- 21:10Speaker 1: fact that the matter. Yeah, I go to shows and
- 21:14Speaker 1: don't see a black anywhere. Wow. Yeah, well okay, Well
- 21:21Speaker 1: we need you to head a network like Oprah. Yeah,
- 21:25Speaker 1: I have an idea. I don't want to hear the
- 21:27Speaker 1: network that's not for me. I cuss too much. I'm
- 21:32Speaker 1: sure the one that headed right now. Man, if I
- 21:34Speaker 1: hit three two to a whole, all right, coming up next,
- 21:44Speaker 1: it is a nephew. These start are ready to love.
- 21:47Speaker 1: He's coming back to run that prank back right after this.
- 21:51Speaker 1: You're listening to coming up at the top of the hour,
- 21:56Speaker 1: guys in entertainment news, Alicia Keys is going to host
- 22:00Speaker 1: the Grammys and uh yeah that's big right, and yeah
- 22:04Speaker 1: and essence names it's woman in Hollywood on the reads.
- 22:08Speaker 1: But right now the nephew is here, would run that
- 22:11Speaker 1: prank back? What you got, nev, I got alarm alert?
- 22:16Speaker 1: Alarm alert, that's what it is. You've been called. You've
- 22:20Speaker 1: been called by the alarm people before. If at your
- 22:22Speaker 1: house alarm went off. Everybody been through this, right, Okay, cool, okay,
- 22:27Speaker 1: watch this though. Alarm alert. Hello, Hello, I'm trying to
- 22:32Speaker 1: reach the nie please. Yeah, this is Anise, Hi, Denise,
- 22:36Speaker 1: this is Tony. I'm calling security. I've got an alarm
- 22:40Speaker 1: that we've got an alarm that's gone off on you, guys.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Property is all right, are you guys? We're just checking
- 22:46Speaker 1: before we send authorities out. Is everything? Okay? Then maybe
- 22:49Speaker 1: someone tripped the alarm? Oh my gosh, No, I'm at work.
- 22:54Speaker 1: I'm at work right now, I'm not home. Okay. Do
- 22:57Speaker 1: you have a tet or dog or anything that could
- 22:59Speaker 1: actually trip be alone? No, No, that's strange. It never
- 23:03Speaker 1: goes off like that. I'm nervous. Okay, give you a second.
- 23:07Speaker 1: We've got a call into the neighborhood security that actually
- 23:11Speaker 1: are en route to the property, and they were going
- 23:13Speaker 1: to give us some information before we actually sent sent
- 23:18Speaker 1: the police officers out, unless you would like for me
- 23:20Speaker 1: to send them out now. But yeah, I feel like
- 23:22Speaker 1: you should send the police. I mean, if I'm not
- 23:25Speaker 1: home and nobody's home and my alarms going off and
- 23:29Speaker 1: it never goes off, that I'm worried. Okay, hang on
- 23:32Speaker 1: one second, this is neighborhood security calling the Hang on
- 23:35Speaker 1: one second. I'll be right back to you. Okay, niece,
- 23:38Speaker 1: are you there, Yes, yes, yes, I'm here. They have
- 23:43Speaker 1: they're out there at the property, the neighborhood security. Do
- 23:45Speaker 1: you um there is a black guy there is on
- 23:49Speaker 1: your premise? Are you familiar with who that might be? Well,
- 23:54Speaker 1: I mean my husband's black, but he should be at
- 23:56Speaker 1: work right now. Okay, Oh, definitely, okay, and you probably
- 24:01Speaker 1: would have texted me if you know the alarm was
- 24:03Speaker 1: going off. Okay, Well, I mean, do you have any
- 24:06Speaker 1: other black male friends? Excuse me, do you have any
- 24:11Speaker 1: other Do you have any other black male friends that
- 24:14Speaker 1: might be at the house. I mean, yeah, it's a
- 24:19Speaker 1: very weird question. I mean, I have black friends yes,
- 24:22Speaker 1: but I don't think they would be in my house. Okay, Well,
- 24:26Speaker 1: I mean, should we just assume that this is your husband?
- 24:28Speaker 1: What do you think? I I mean, what would you
- 24:31Speaker 1: like to work? I mean? What? How tall is this person?
- 24:36Speaker 1: My husband's sixty three? On? Hold on one second, let
- 24:40Speaker 1: me go back to the scurry from the neighborhood. I
- 24:42Speaker 1: ain't one second. Don't know if somebody's in my larm's
- 24:46Speaker 1: going off. I don't know. I mean, okay, Denise, yes, okay,
- 24:52Speaker 1: they have The black guy that they're looking at is
- 24:55Speaker 1: about five foot ten, maybe late twenties. How old is
- 24:59Speaker 1: your husband? No, my husband is I just told you
- 25:05Speaker 1: that my husband's not there. He would have texted me
- 25:08Speaker 1: or called me and told me that he accidentally set
- 25:10Speaker 1: the alarm off. And I'm actually going to text him.
- 25:13Speaker 1: I mean, this is crazy. I should probably call him. Okay,
- 25:16Speaker 1: you do realize if we send you do realize if
- 25:19Speaker 1: we send the authorities out and this is a false call,
- 25:21Speaker 1: that you're gonna get charged for that. You do know that, right,
- 25:24Speaker 1: a false call. You just said somebody's in my house
- 25:27Speaker 1: and it's not me or my husband. You're saying your
- 25:33Speaker 1: husband's black, and then there's a black guy there. I mean,
- 25:36Speaker 1: they probably know each other, right, Are you kidding me?
- 25:40Speaker 1: What kind of question is that? Why? Because they're both black.
- 25:45Speaker 1: I'm just trying to save you some money, man, I
- 25:46Speaker 1: don't want to send out police officers when they get
- 25:49Speaker 1: there and then all of a sudden, your husband knows
- 25:51Speaker 1: the black guy or he's he's a relative or something.
- 25:54Speaker 1: I mean, do they I mean, you know, do you
- 25:56Speaker 1: want to call him? What do you think like this?
- 26:01Speaker 1: This is really offensive and and I don't understand. If
- 26:05Speaker 1: I'm telling you that I don't know who the person
- 26:07Speaker 1: is in my house, that means send the police. I mean,
- 26:11Speaker 1: this is ridiculous. They're calling back neighborhoods. Just hold on
- 26:18Speaker 1: one second. Neighborhood security is calling back here. Oh my god,
- 26:25Speaker 1: this is ridiculous. Okay, Denise, Now the security in the neighborhood.
- 26:31Speaker 1: They're telling me that this guy just drove out of
- 26:34Speaker 1: the garage and a white pickup. Do you do you
- 26:36Speaker 1: guys have a white pickup? Yes, we do. So this
- 26:41Speaker 1: guy just pulled out of your your your garage and
- 26:44Speaker 1: a white pickup. Well, I have my car at work
- 26:47Speaker 1: and my husband has his car. That's like the truck
- 26:50Speaker 1: that he uses on the weekends for like construction and stuff.
- 26:53Speaker 1: So that means somebody just stole our car. I can't
- 26:57Speaker 1: believe this is happening. You are watching some to my
- 27:00Speaker 1: house and you you basically watched them steal my truck. Well, well,
- 27:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna go ahead and now and get the police
- 27:06Speaker 1: to go over. Okay, why the are you going to
- 27:09Speaker 1: send them? Now? He probably took all my in my house.
- 27:13Speaker 1: I mean, the police get there, there's not gonna be
- 27:15Speaker 1: anything left in my house. Probably set the back of
- 27:18Speaker 1: the truck. I mean, I'm doing the best I can.
- 27:20Speaker 1: I'm trying to help you with you is going to
- 27:22Speaker 1: do me now? I mean, the whole time you've been
- 27:25Speaker 1: talking to me, he's been cleaning up my house out
- 27:28Speaker 1: and stealing. Well, how did you get in your house?
- 27:32Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know this guy. You're what
- 27:39Speaker 1: I was asking you? How could somebody gave her house?
- 27:41Speaker 1: Did you leave something open? What did you go? Hey, listen,
- 27:46Speaker 1: you would know because I wouldn't have been able to
- 27:48Speaker 1: set my alarm this morning. If something was open, it
- 27:52Speaker 1: would beef and it wouldn't let me set the alarm.
- 27:54Speaker 1: And the fact that you're interrogating me when somebody's robbing
- 27:57Speaker 1: my house. You need to do your job. I need
- 28:01Speaker 1: to call my husband. You're wasting my time. I mean,
- 28:04Speaker 1: by the time the police get there, it's gonna be tomorrow.
- 28:07Speaker 1: So you're gonna so you're gonna call Darrel. Now, I'm sorry,
- 28:11Speaker 1: you're gonna call Darrel? Now, how do you know my
- 28:15Speaker 1: husband's name? Denise? This is nephew telling me from the
- 28:22Speaker 1: Steve Harvey More to show your husband. Darrel got me
- 28:25Speaker 1: through prank phone coffee. Oh my god, I was gonna
- 28:30Speaker 1: come down there and right nobody stole your truck, nobody's
- 28:41Speaker 1: at your house, Your alarm is fine, everything is good.
- 28:44Speaker 1: But Darrel told me, he said, we gotta get my wife.
- 28:46Speaker 1: We gotta get a good that's so did we get you?
- 28:52Speaker 1: Oh my god, I was sweating. I was so angry.
- 28:55Speaker 1: I was sweating over here. All right, So tell me this.
- 28:59Speaker 1: What is the baddest and I mean the baddest radio
- 29:02Speaker 1: show in the land. So Steve Harvey Morning Show, come on.

- 34:16Speaker 1: let's do it. Well. Hell, ladies and gentlemen. I worked
- 34:24Speaker 1: with some crazy all the way live people, don't I anyway?
- 34:27Speaker 1: This is answered with the news everybody, Good morning. President
- 34:29Speaker 1: Trump's nominee to take Jeff Sessions place at the head
- 34:32Speaker 1: of Justice Department face some intense questioning on Capitol Hill today.
- 34:35Speaker 1: He's going to get some more questioning later on William
- 34:37Speaker 1: Barr was pelted with questions yesterday, mostly centering on Special
- 34:41Speaker 1: Counsel Robin Muller's Russia investigation, specifically if he was going
- 34:45Speaker 1: to do anything to stop it. President Trump continues to
- 34:47Speaker 1: label the pro but witch hunt. Barr testified that he
- 34:50Speaker 1: would give Mueller adequate time and resources to complete the investigation,
- 34:53Speaker 1: and he went further, I am not going to do
- 34:55Speaker 1: anything that I think is wrong, and I will not
- 34:57Speaker 1: be bullied into doing anything I think it's wrong any
- 35:00Speaker 1: whether it be editorial boards or Congress or the President.
- 35:02Speaker 1: I'm going to do what I think is right. Bar
- 35:04Speaker 1: says he believes in Moscow did try to interfere with
- 35:06Speaker 1: the last presidential election and that US officials need to
- 35:09Speaker 1: get to the bottom of that. A federal judge in
- 35:11Speaker 1: New York is ruled against the Trump administration's decision to
- 35:13Speaker 1: add a citizenship question to the twenty twenty census, US
- 35:17Speaker 1: Sister Judge Jesse Furman ordering the White House to stop
- 35:20Speaker 1: its plans to include the question. The question is is
- 35:22Speaker 1: this person a citizen of the US. That's something that
- 35:25Speaker 1: all US households apparently have not been asked since nineteen fifty.
- 35:30Speaker 1: The I R. S is recalling about forty six thousand
- 35:32Speaker 1: of its furloughed employees to handle tax returns and get
- 35:35Speaker 1: out those refunds. By the way, those furloughed workers will
- 35:38Speaker 1: still be working without pay. New York Centator Kiston Gilbrand yesterday,
- 35:42Speaker 1: so she's authorized the formation of an exploratory committee to
- 35:45Speaker 1: engage the feasibility of her running for president. She's laid
- 35:48Speaker 1: out some of the reasons she wants to be the
- 35:49Speaker 1: commander in chief on the Late Show. Healthcare should be
- 35:52Speaker 1: a right and not a privilege. I believe we should
- 35:56Speaker 1: have better public schools for our kids because it shouldn't
- 35:59Speaker 1: matter what you grow up on. And I believe that
- 36:02Speaker 1: anybody who wants to work hard enough should be able
- 36:05Speaker 1: to get whatever job training they need to earn their
- 36:07Speaker 1: way into the middle class. But you are never going
- 36:10Speaker 1: to accomplish any of these things if you don't take
- 36:14Speaker 1: on the systems of power that make all of that impossible,
- 36:19Speaker 1: which is taking on institutional racism, taking on the corruption
- 36:22Speaker 1: and greed in Washington, taking on the special interests that
- 36:27Speaker 1: write legislation in the dead of night. And I know
- 36:31Speaker 1: that I have the compassion, the courage, and the fearless
- 36:34Speaker 1: determination to get that done well, Sana jelibrand joints. What's
- 36:37Speaker 1: expect to be a real crowded primary field of democratic hopefuls.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Various community blend black women's group scheduled to rally outside
- 36:44Speaker 1: Sony Music headquarters in Manhattan this morning to demand that
- 36:47Speaker 1: OURCA records drop r Kelly. They're delivering about one hundred
- 36:50Speaker 1: and eight thousand citishes on their petition as well, and
- 36:52Speaker 1: maybe there aren't too many men in certain parts of Arizona.
- 36:55Speaker 1: A trial date set for a Phoenix woman who police
- 36:57Speaker 1: say sent a man more than sixty five and text
- 37:00Speaker 1: messages after one date. One of them read, I'll make
- 37:03Speaker 1: sushi out of your kidneys and chopsticks out of your handbones.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Two words, get out. Now back to the Steve Harvey
- 37:10Speaker 1: Morning Show. You're listening to. One of the great things
- 37:16Speaker 1: about winning a sports championship, you know, is a trip
- 37:18Speaker 1: to the White House, meeting and seeing the President and
- 37:22Speaker 1: maybe having a little lunch with the president as well. Right, well,
- 37:26Speaker 1: Monday nights visit by the college football champs Clemson Tigers.
- 37:30Speaker 1: It was a bit unusual, shall we say, thanks to
- 37:34Speaker 1: the partial government showdown shutdown, I should say White House
- 37:38Speaker 1: staff has been furloughed. So instead of a nice meal
- 37:41Speaker 1: from the kitchen, you know, one of the best chefs
- 37:44Speaker 1: in the world, the president ordered out and treated the
- 37:47Speaker 1: champs to a meal of American fast food. He even
- 37:51Speaker 1: picked up the tab. So wonder if the players were
- 37:54Speaker 1: bummed out. They had to dress up. They were all
- 37:56Speaker 1: in suits and everything. You know, they had to go
- 37:58Speaker 1: through the security get on the plane. And how many
- 38:00Speaker 1: players went because I only saw maybe ten players gathering
- 38:05Speaker 1: around the table eating. I thought the whole team one.
- 38:07Speaker 1: I think the whole team. I'm just saying the clip.
- 38:10Speaker 1: I saw like ten people around the table. Yeah, so
- 38:14Speaker 1: they were served McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's and uh
- 38:19Speaker 1: Donald Trump said, we went off and we ordered American
- 38:22Speaker 1: fast food, paid for by me. Lots of burgers, lots
- 38:25Speaker 1: of pizza. I think they'd like it better than anything
- 38:28Speaker 1: we could give. The president. We all know he loves
- 38:32Speaker 1: fast food. It's been well document. Yeah, what did you
- 38:38Speaker 1: see how many? How many times he was talking the
- 38:40Speaker 1: whole time, but the players weren't. They couldn't eat. McDonald
- 38:43Speaker 1: fries ain't good at Room ten. Okay, we gotta eat
- 38:47Speaker 1: while they hot and then they have to be hot.
- 38:51Speaker 1: And then you know they had to go through some
- 38:53Speaker 1: sort of security just to get in the White House
- 38:55Speaker 1: from outside, so they went through every one of them
- 38:58Speaker 1: burgers press. I wouldn't have flown down that shirt. I
- 39:02Speaker 1: couldn't gone. Why I'm doing everything campus. It's a burger King, Yeah,
- 39:08Speaker 1: I mean Burger King and McDonald's and Wendy's. They're right
- 39:11Speaker 1: around the corner blighting candles and stuff and burgers and
- 39:17Speaker 1: candle light. Ain't that ain't sick? No, Look, I wasn't
- 39:23Speaker 1: mad at it. I didn't care. We gotta open the
- 39:25Speaker 1: damn government. But you got right, right, But you do
- 39:28Speaker 1: go to the White House, Steve for the experience. You know,
- 39:32Speaker 1: all the cooks is out, yeah, I know. And to
- 39:34Speaker 1: shut the government down. And what did the presidents say?
- 39:37Speaker 1: He's never ever gonna back down? What this dude? I
- 39:41Speaker 1: don't see, not compromise. Yeah, but you know what's aggravating
- 39:44Speaker 1: to me is that the Republican Party that g OP
- 39:50Speaker 1: will not get him and take him to task and
- 39:54Speaker 1: help him make right decisions. They go along with this.
- 39:57Speaker 1: He said Mexico was gonna be on the wall. That
- 40:00Speaker 1: didn't turn out true. Then they gave him a budget
- 40:02Speaker 1: to do some border security. When the Senate and House
- 40:07Speaker 1: had a proposal, he turned that down. Now he's sitting
- 40:10Speaker 1: up in that hold in America, hostage with this foolishness
- 40:14Speaker 1: about this wall. Yeah, it's crazy man. Well, coming up
- 40:17Speaker 1: at thirty four after the hour, the social media ten
- 40:21Speaker 1: Year Challenge and birthday self reflection questions, we'll have some
- 40:25Speaker 1: more for you, mister Steve Harvey, right after this. Okay, cool,
- 40:28Speaker 1: I like that you're listening to show, all right, Steve.
- 40:34Speaker 1: We talked about the ten year Challenge, trending on social
- 40:37Speaker 1: media where people you know, post a picture of what
- 40:40Speaker 1: they looked like a decade ago alongside a recent picture
- 40:43Speaker 1: of themselves. So, Steve, with everyone posting and taking pictures
- 40:47Speaker 1: and talk about aging and all that stuff. Well, your
- 40:49Speaker 1: birthday is tomorrow, so we're going to ask you some
- 40:52Speaker 1: more birthday self reflection questions. Are you ready? Stay ready
- 40:58Speaker 1: and ready ready? He is ready? All right, tell me
- 41:01Speaker 1: you want to go first? Go ahead? All right, don't
- 41:04Speaker 1: hear you? What is your what's your favorite way to
- 41:08Speaker 1: spend your day? And without work? Let's take that out
- 41:11Speaker 1: without your favorite way to spend a free day. I'd
- 41:14Speaker 1: either like to play golf or sitting on the beach
- 41:18Speaker 1: looking at the water with access to a butler. Now
- 41:26Speaker 1: that's probably a private beach. Right, Well, let's just not
- 41:28Speaker 1: sit there and be polled. Yeah, this is different way
- 41:43Speaker 1: you being an enjoyable time. You ain't got to get
- 41:45Speaker 1: them go there and buy them damn chicken ring. All right, Carla,
- 41:49Speaker 1: all right, Steve, here you go. How is the public ye,
- 41:55Speaker 1: different from the private view? The private me's a lot
- 42:01Speaker 1: more reserved than quiet. Yeah. I try to spend as
- 42:05Speaker 1: little time as I can talk in private. I agree
- 42:09Speaker 1: with that. Yeah, knowing you privately, Yeah yeah, that's been
- 42:13Speaker 1: out to dinner with you. Yeah yeah, yeah, because you're
- 42:17Speaker 1: always on so because I gotta save it when I
- 42:20Speaker 1: get up from here. Yeah yeah, and that's cool. We
- 42:24Speaker 1: can respect that. Come on, Junior, what you guy? Hey?
- 42:27Speaker 1: What surprised you most about your life? Just in general?
- 42:30Speaker 1: Just about your life? The level that God has gotten
- 42:34Speaker 1: me too, Because it's not the level I thought I
- 42:38Speaker 1: would get to. He has actually taken me far beyond
- 42:42Speaker 1: where I thought I would get over. And I have
- 42:44Speaker 1: dreams and aspirations of what I like, but everything I've
- 42:48Speaker 1: ever dreamed like, he surpassed that's been the most surprising
- 42:54Speaker 1: thing to me, how much grace he's given me over
- 42:57Speaker 1: the years. You know, that's the beautiful. That's been surprising
- 43:01Speaker 1: to everybody in the family too, I swear to God,
- 43:05Speaker 1: especially you, nephew. What let me tell you something. They
- 43:10Speaker 1: were convinced that I would be nothing. That's all I've
- 43:15Speaker 1: used to be. We'll just be sitting on the front
- 43:18Speaker 1: porch doing nothing though nothing. Yeah, what playing that's my card?
- 43:23Speaker 1: Stuff like that. Six cars come up the street, that's mine,
- 43:28Speaker 1: but calling number five come up. I try to change
- 43:30Speaker 1: my number because the number five look real cold coming
- 43:34Speaker 1: out to man, you have to fight. And kids today
- 43:37Speaker 1: have no conception of what that's like. They have no
- 43:41Speaker 1: idea how to play what's My Car? And stuff like that.
- 43:44Speaker 1: We're playing on the highway, were playing? Are you still playing? Okay?
- 43:48Speaker 1: We teach them some of that stuff. We tried. Well,
- 43:50Speaker 1: that's a good thing to keep the tradition going in.
- 43:53Speaker 1: We make them put down their phone. You can't play
- 43:56Speaker 1: that's my car now, huh, because you ain't yours? All right,
- 44:02Speaker 1: there we go. You finish the sentence for me. Okay,
- 44:06Speaker 1: Being myself is hard because to who much has given
- 44:11Speaker 1: much is required quirements. A heavy, man, that's deep. Heavy
- 44:18Speaker 1: is the head that wears the crown. Lord, Sometimes I'm
- 44:25Speaker 1: gonna take this crown off. That it's good to be king.
- 44:28Speaker 1: Yeah that's true. But boy, heavy is the head that
- 44:31Speaker 1: wears the crown. Sometimes you want to take it off, man,
- 44:34Speaker 1: but you can't. It's attached. All right, all right, come on, Tommy,
- 44:39Speaker 1: he has moved faster. Okay, all right, finished, finish, finish
- 44:46Speaker 1: this sentence right here. Let me see, let me see,
- 44:48Speaker 1: I missed a great opportunity when I had blank, probably
- 44:54Speaker 1: to take you along. I don't have any deep regrets
- 45:00Speaker 1: my life about now. That's a beautiful answer as well.
- 45:04Speaker 1: I don't have any I can't think of anything that
- 45:07Speaker 1: I because everything you've gone through has made you what
- 45:09Speaker 1: you are today, got what I was supposed to have,
- 45:13Speaker 1: plus song in the words everyone in five you can't
- 45:16Speaker 1: give what you never hate. Wow, won't you do it?
- 45:20Speaker 1: All right? Look, coming up next it is a nephew
- 45:23Speaker 1: with the prank phone call for it today. Right after
- 45:26Speaker 1: this you're listening to. Coming up at the top of
- 45:32Speaker 1: the hour, right about four minutes after, it's my strawberry
- 45:34Speaker 1: letter for it Today. The subject if you don't get
- 45:37Speaker 1: your mama. I will see that's where you roll. You
- 45:45Speaker 1: don't get your mama. I'm going to do it right
- 45:52Speaker 1: now though. It is the nephew's turn to give us
- 45:54Speaker 1: a prank phone call for it today. What you got
- 45:56Speaker 1: nef wax status? Huh wax daddy. Oh look that's the
- 46:04Speaker 1: Prince early. Okay, well we go, wax daddy. Call it
- 46:11Speaker 1: gonna get you done. But I'm just drainings wrong with you. Yes,
- 46:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna say it again. Wax daddy. Here we go
- 46:30Speaker 1: running Hello, Hello, I'm trying to reach Owen. Please, Yeah,
- 46:35Speaker 1: this is on Hi Owen. This is ramone on giving
- 46:38Speaker 1: you a call um where we're just confirming your appointment
- 46:41Speaker 1: at eleven on Thursday, and I wanted to make you're
- 46:44Speaker 1: a new client, so we wanted to make sure that
- 46:46Speaker 1: you were Okay, wait a minute, putent for what you
- 46:49Speaker 1: have a spa treatment scheduled? Um at eleven on Thursday.
- 46:54Speaker 1: You did receive a spa treatment from your wife for Christmas. Um,
- 47:00Speaker 1: I don't remember being set up for anything or any appointment. Well,
- 47:03Speaker 1: she's made an appointment for you for eleven o'clock on
- 47:06Speaker 1: this coming Thursdays. I'm just calling them confirm that you
- 47:10Speaker 1: would definitely be in to the salon. Well, I thought
- 47:13Speaker 1: this was like a couple's massage or something like that.
- 47:15Speaker 1: So what is the treatment all about? What's what do
- 47:18Speaker 1: you guys? I don't I understand? Um, well, she's got
- 47:21Speaker 1: you signed up for Let me look, she's got you
- 47:25Speaker 1: signed up for us to actually wax your back in
- 47:31Speaker 1: your buttocks on Thursday. And we actually have a special
- 47:35Speaker 1: that we have, um a man zillion, which is a
- 47:42Speaker 1: this isn't for real? Sure we have you lined up
- 47:45Speaker 1: for an appointment. If you don't want the appointment, please
- 47:48Speaker 1: let us know. Whax my my back and my get
- 47:53Speaker 1: that all out of you man zillion? What your your
- 47:59Speaker 1: wife is set you up for a back and butt
- 48:03Speaker 1: hair removal, which is waxing. And what I'm saying is
- 48:06Speaker 1: a manzilion is if you would like that, we would
- 48:09Speaker 1: remove all the hair from your private area as well. Yeah,
- 48:14Speaker 1: try again, man, there's no way I'm getting my private laugh.
- 48:19Speaker 1: What's I could be hairless like? But no way get
- 48:25Speaker 1: out of here. Evidently, if your wife has set you
- 48:28Speaker 1: up for this, maybe she's not into all you have.
- 48:31Speaker 1: You evidently have a lot of hair on your back
- 48:33Speaker 1: I'm assuming, Yeah, I'm a hairy guy, but she's never
- 48:36Speaker 1: said anything A batters. He likes it. Okay, he calls
- 48:39Speaker 1: me he loves it. Well, maybe there's a mix of communication,
- 48:43Speaker 1: because this is the thing she's asking us to do,
- 48:46Speaker 1: is to remove your hair. Yeah, no, that's not happening.
- 48:49Speaker 1: And if she's gonna tell me yourself, and there's no
- 48:52Speaker 1: way I'm going in to have somebody ripped the hair
- 48:55Speaker 1: off my back and my hands and my private kidding
- 48:58Speaker 1: me to get the out of here. This is crazy.
- 49:01Speaker 1: This is this is a very professional procedure. It won't
- 49:05Speaker 1: take long. We don't have you in and out within
- 49:07Speaker 1: forty five minutes, but you're gonna forty five minutes, forty
- 49:13Speaker 1: five minutes to rip off all of this hair. That
- 49:15Speaker 1: sounds like tot s he mean, okay, sure you know No, no,
- 49:20Speaker 1: I think we're done. I think you know we're done.
- 49:24Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, I'm gonna tell her to get
- 49:26Speaker 1: a refund. It's getting a refund. Okay, they're not gonna
- 49:31Speaker 1: be a refund. Now you're supposed to come in at eleven.
- 49:34Speaker 1: This is something that she wants you to do. Yeah,
- 49:36Speaker 1: I'm not listen to me. I am not getting WAF
- 49:40Speaker 1: That's not something a man does. There's no way I'm
- 49:43Speaker 1: doing that. If this is for real, I'm gonna have
- 49:46Speaker 1: a talk with her as soon as she gets home.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Because no, no, no, sir, shirt right now, right now,
- 49:52Speaker 1: you're are disrespecting my profession. That's what you're doing. Okay. Look,
- 49:56Speaker 1: I'm not sure. I don't. I don't know what this
- 49:58Speaker 1: is all about. I don't. I'm not trying to suspect anybody,
- 50:01Speaker 1: but stop why I'm doing this all right, I'm not
- 50:03Speaker 1: getting it back. No, there's no way. Okay. So evidently
- 50:08Speaker 1: your wife wanted or she wouldn't have purchased it from
- 50:11Speaker 1: us to have you come in and get it done. Well, yeah,
- 50:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to talk to her about that. I mean,
- 50:15Speaker 1: if there's something she wants to watch, you can wax
- 50:17Speaker 1: her private that's cool, But a man has hair. I mean,
- 50:19Speaker 1: it's well, if she didn't have an appointment, then she's
- 50:23Speaker 1: serious about getting it done. Yeah. Well I'm serious about
- 50:27Speaker 1: not going. So I mean, you know, I don't know
- 50:30Speaker 1: how I can explain it to you. I'm not coming in.
- 50:32Speaker 1: You can reschedule it for somebody else. I'll talk to
- 50:35Speaker 1: her when she gets home. But that's that's it. I'm
- 50:37Speaker 1: just your wife has paid two hundred dollars for this procedure.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Did you say two hundred dollars? Your wife has paid
- 50:45Speaker 1: two hundred dollars for this procedure. Yeah, no, who's gonna
- 50:49Speaker 1: get a refund? You guys are this is sir, sir owen.
- 50:55Speaker 1: This is not refundable, so there is no money coming back.
- 50:59Speaker 1: I will let you know that. Two hundred bucks. There's
- 51:03Speaker 1: no way. You gotta be kidding me to take care
- 51:08Speaker 1: off on my back and my back, two hundred bucks.
- 51:14Speaker 1: This is a very referable spa here. I don't, I
- 51:16Speaker 1: don't do it. I'm gonna get I'm gonna go to
- 51:18Speaker 1: the dollar store and get a pack of Raisors for
- 51:21Speaker 1: a dollar, and she's gonna do it herself, and I'll
- 51:24Speaker 1: give her. I'll give her ten bucks. This is good.
- 51:26Speaker 1: I'll give her a tip. That's the five tip food bucks.
- 51:29Speaker 1: I'm done. I'm say two hundred bucks. There's no way,
- 51:33Speaker 1: there is no way we are playing that money and
- 51:37Speaker 1: you guys are keeping that money. There's nowhere pray, do
- 51:39Speaker 1: you understand there's no there's not a refund, mister Owen.
- 51:45Speaker 1: There's definitely not a refrom mister Owen, what are you?
- 51:49Speaker 1: There's alway and I'm gonna raman. I am Ramone here
- 51:54Speaker 1: at the spa and your wife came in and purchases
- 51:56Speaker 1: wonderful gift for you for Christmas. Remote, I don't give up, Ramone.
- 52:00Speaker 1: Listen to me. Now, you're not respecting my profession. You're
- 52:03Speaker 1: acting I don't look. Look, I'm not trying to disrespect you,
- 52:06Speaker 1: but I don't care about the profession. There's no way.
- 52:10Speaker 1: That's actually that's robbery. Charging somebody two hundred bucks to
- 52:13Speaker 1: rip off hair off their their body. He gets just
- 52:16Speaker 1: no way. I'm just doing it, and I'm gonna talk
- 52:19Speaker 1: to her. She's gonna do it herself. I want to
- 52:21Speaker 1: cash because you're disrespecting my profession and you're not coming
- 52:24Speaker 1: in at eleven all would you supposed to come in
- 52:26Speaker 1: at eleven so we could watch your back in your body?
- 52:29Speaker 1: And now you're saying no, there will be nothing whack.
- 52:33Speaker 1: I'm not coming in eleven. I'm not coming in ever.
- 52:35Speaker 1: She's gonna take care of this though. You don't have
- 52:37Speaker 1: to worry about it. Ramone. I mean respect to you,
- 52:40Speaker 1: but no need to know and there is no refund. Okay,
- 52:45Speaker 1: I mean, this is getting ridiculous. I don't even know
- 52:47Speaker 1: why I'm talking to you. You're cousin Peter. Have you
- 52:50Speaker 1: spoken to him lately? How to you know? Peter? You
- 52:54Speaker 1: got me to call you. This is nephew Tommy from
- 52:57Speaker 1: the Steve Robin Wanted Show. You just out of here,
- 53:04Speaker 1: you idiot. Oh, I gotta ask you something, man. What
- 53:12Speaker 1: is the baddest and I mean the baddest radio show
- 53:15Speaker 1: in the land, Steve Harvey Morning Show? Did I watch? Oh?
- 53:24Speaker 1: Did I watch much? Time? I know where you're coming from. Time.
- 53:27Speaker 1: I feel the same way about that race? Did you
- 53:34Speaker 1: Pip pop teeing me in twenty nineteen? He got you? Oh, Junior,
- 53:43Speaker 1: you know what I mean to tell you? Last month,
- 53:45Speaker 1: like right over the holidays, I meant to text you.
- 53:48Speaker 1: Guess what popped up on my timeline? You know, in
- 53:50Speaker 1: your pictures one year ago to day the race year
- 53:55Speaker 1: I didn't do with you run on the thirteenth or
- 53:59Speaker 1: something like that, and what like that? It was December
- 54:02Speaker 1: and what was what was Carla saying Steve on that tape?
- 54:07Speaker 1: This bank, I lost my father, this blankety blank, I
- 54:15Speaker 1: lost my blanket father. But when we played the tape back,
- 54:19Speaker 1: it was there, Carla. You remember that, y'all. Y'all act
- 54:23Speaker 1: like y'all didn't walk off. I was laughing. Y'all just
- 54:26Speaker 1: walked off. No, we didn't show, did it. We walked
- 54:33Speaker 1: off like this? Thankod of you. Up next time about
- 54:36Speaker 1: four minutes after. It's today's Strawberry Letters subject if you
- 54:40Speaker 1: if you don't get your mama, I will. It's coming
- 54:42Speaker 1: up right after this. You're listening to Steve Morning Show.

- 55:13Speaker 1: hold on tight. We got it for you. Here. It
- 55:15Speaker 1: is the Strawberry let us subjects If you don't get
- 55:19Speaker 1: yo Mama, That's what it says in the title. If
- 55:21Speaker 1: you don't get yo Mama, I will, steveson, Dear Stephen Shirley,
- 55:28Speaker 1: I have found the man of my dreams and we've
- 55:30Speaker 1: been together for five years. We have one child together,
- 55:33Speaker 1: and I'm pregnant with our second child. Our relationship is great,
- 55:38Speaker 1: but my boyfriend's mother is a huge problem, and I'm
- 55:42Speaker 1: fed up with her inserting herself into every aspect of
- 55:46Speaker 1: our lives. She comments and how we parent, our finances,
- 55:50Speaker 1: my decorating style, how I cook, and my housekeeping skills. Recently,
- 55:56Speaker 1: our child was sick and she caused a big scene
- 55:59Speaker 1: in the hospital that it was my fault for not
- 56:01Speaker 1: taking better care of her grandchild. My child is young,
- 56:05Speaker 1: and she constantly critiques him, which makes him not like
- 56:08Speaker 1: her very much. Last week, she told me that she
- 56:10Speaker 1: hopes the new baby is not a brat like my toddler.
- 56:14Speaker 1: My boyfriend seems to overlook her insults when she goes
- 56:17Speaker 1: in on him, but it's hard for me to hear
- 56:20Speaker 1: her telling him that he's a sorry excuse for a man.
- 56:23Speaker 1: I have told her that her behavior is unacceptable, and
- 56:26Speaker 1: she said that she is just giving us much needed
- 56:29Speaker 1: advice and constructive criticism because we're young and don't know anything.
- 56:34Speaker 1: Stephen Shirley, we are in our early thirties and we
- 56:37Speaker 1: can take care of ourselves. I'm starting to think that
- 56:40Speaker 1: she might be right about my boyfriend being sorry because
- 56:43Speaker 1: he won't talk to her about her foul mouth and
- 56:46Speaker 1: bad attitude. I have told him that she is no
- 56:49Speaker 1: longer welcome in our home and that I do not
- 56:51Speaker 1: want her to have a relationship with our new baby.
- 56:55Speaker 1: I don't need this stress during the last trimester of
- 56:57Speaker 1: my pregnancy. How can I get this man to step
- 57:00Speaker 1: up and get his mom in check? Please advise? All right,
- 57:03Speaker 1: first of all, let me tell you this. Not welcoming
- 57:05Speaker 1: her in your home and not wanting her to have
- 57:07Speaker 1: a relationship with the new baby, that's kind of hearts. Okay,
- 57:11Speaker 1: Now is your boyfriend and mama's boy I have to
- 57:14Speaker 1: say yes to that. I have to say also that
- 57:16Speaker 1: you're right. Your man should be checking his mom in
- 57:18Speaker 1: a respectful way. She is too messy, she is too
- 57:22Speaker 1: involved in your relationship, she's too petty. She does need
- 57:25Speaker 1: to get her some business. I'm in agreement with all
- 57:27Speaker 1: of that. But unless he says something to her, she's
- 57:31Speaker 1: not gonna She's not gonna pull up. You've already said something.
- 57:35Speaker 1: But you're right, you don't need this kind of stress
- 57:38Speaker 1: in your last try trimester of your pregnancy. But but
- 57:41Speaker 1: how dare she though? I mean, what's what's all this disrespect?
- 57:46Speaker 1: Has this been going on for the entire five years?
- 57:49Speaker 1: I can't believe you guys have allowed it to go
- 57:51Speaker 1: on for so long. Now I'm gonna ask you this.
- 57:54Speaker 1: Do you think it has anything to do with the
- 57:57Speaker 1: fact that you guys aren't married? Five years, two kids later,
- 58:03Speaker 1: that's a lot. Maybe, you know, she might be messy
- 58:05Speaker 1: and all of that, you know, with her ways and everything,
- 58:07Speaker 1: but she might also be old school and she wants
- 58:10Speaker 1: you to to stop having children and making you know,
- 58:13Speaker 1: making babies and all this and go ahead and tie
- 58:15Speaker 1: the knot. You know. Maybe that's where this is really
- 58:18Speaker 1: coming from. Just something to think about there, Steve. The
- 58:22Speaker 1: mama is out of line, yeah, and period. It ain't
- 58:28Speaker 1: got nothing to do really with the boy or the girl,
- 58:31Speaker 1: the son or the daughter. The mama is way out
- 58:35Speaker 1: of line. Now. With that being said, whose job is
- 58:40Speaker 1: it to check him? The sun? But Shirley hid it.
- 58:43Speaker 1: It's a mama's boy. Now, this is a mama's boy
- 58:47Speaker 1: we're talking about. And we got a little problem. But
- 58:50Speaker 1: I got news for it. He doesn't even have to
- 58:53Speaker 1: be a mama's boy, because it's not that he's over
- 58:56Speaker 1: there all the time. It's that she interjects herself into
- 59:01Speaker 1: y'alls every aspect of your life, and you just won't
- 59:04Speaker 1: get him to say nothing. The dude that don't say
- 59:07Speaker 1: nothing to his mama's really not because he's a mama's boy.
- 59:11Speaker 1: He just you know, this ain't nothing new to him.
- 59:14Speaker 1: Let me get to the letter. She comments on how
- 59:18Speaker 1: we're parent our finances, my decorating style, how I cook,
- 59:22Speaker 1: my house cleaning, and then your child got sick and
- 59:25Speaker 1: she calls a big scene at the hospital, saying it
- 59:28Speaker 1: was my fault for not taking better care of her grandchild. Dude,
- 59:33Speaker 1: is this half a crazy you want? That's how you
- 59:36Speaker 1: get a person arrested, That's how you get child protective services,
- 59:41Speaker 1: That's how you get children taken from people. She's got
- 59:44Speaker 1: to be crazy. Once you start making these statements in
- 59:47Speaker 1: the hospital, they start checking real closer. Yeah, my child
- 59:53Speaker 1: is young, and she constantly critiques him, which makes him
- 59:58Speaker 1: not like her very much. See this is an old
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: battle ax right here, this health right here. She she
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: she ain't happy with herself, so she ain't happy with you.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: The way your parents where you clean where she ain't
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: happy with the grandchild, She ain't happy with us, So
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: this is an old old battle AX. Last week she
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: told me she hopes the new baby is not a
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: brat like my toddler. Is she serious? What's wrong with her? Man?
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: She's just a nasty person. Your mother in law, his
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: mama is just a nasty person. My boyfriend seems to
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: overlook her insults when she goes in on him, But
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: it's hard for me to hear her telling him that
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: he's a side excuse for a man she raised him. See,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: I see the same. It's my son. You are sorry,
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: excuse for a man you raised it. Yeah, so you know,
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: let's get some of these fingers pointing at you if
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: you if you made him side, you made him side.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: You're the parent. So that's what I hear in that.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: I told her that her behavior is unacceptable, and she
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: said that she's just given us much needed advice and
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: constructive criticism. Take the word constructive out. It's just criticism
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: and it's not much needed. It's that you do it
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: all the time because you're funky, because you ain't happy
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: with yourself. She said, she's doing that because you're young,
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: and you don't know anything. Stephen Sherley. We're in our
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: early thirties and we can take care of ourselves. I'm starting.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: She thinks she might be right about my boyfriend being sorry. Okay,
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: she's winning now, want she gets you over that leaning
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: that that right there? She winning. Don't let her do it.
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: Your dude ain't sorry. He just talk to her about
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: her fire mouth and bad attitude. You know why this
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: ain't new to him. He grew up with her, her
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: bad attitude and file mouth. He grew up with it.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: He don't even hit no more. It's the norm for him.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: This is new to you. So what you're tripping on
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: he's made the adjustment to he don't even hear her. Wow,
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: he'd been cut her out? All right, Steve, hang on,
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: we'll have part two of your response to today's Strubberry letter.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: If you don't get your mama, I will at twenty
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: three after the hour, right after get your mama, right
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: after this. You're listening, all right? Come on, Steve, Let's
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: recap today's Strubberry letter. If you don't get your mama,
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: recap the old Mama is an old battle act. She's
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: not happy. She better she evil. She don't like nothing.
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: She debased this woman out in the house spital Damn
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: near got in trouble. Talk about you hoping the new
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: baby ain't like this? Braught you to raise? Wow? She evil?
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: She don't like the way the lady could clean do house,
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: parent nothing. She she say her son is a side
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: excuse for a man, and that's who she raised. Now
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: I'm starting to think she might be right about my
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: boyfriend being side. He's not. He's just used to her
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: because he won't talk to her about her firemouth and
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: bad attitude. Once again, because he used to her. He
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: grew up with the firemouth and the attitude. That's just
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: how his mamma is. She didn't just get this way.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: I've told him that she is no longer welcome. I've
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: told him and she's no longer welcome in our home
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: and that I do not want her to have a
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: relationship with our new baby. Okay, that's not cool, I
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: got she ain't cool at all. But two wrongs ain't
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: gonna make it right. You told your husband that his
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: mama ain't welcome in our home no more. You got
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: him in a bad spot. You got him in a
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: horrible spot because it's crazy. As wrong as she is,
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: it's still his mama. He loved her. I don't need
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: this stress during my last trimester of my pregnancy. How
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: can I get my man to step up and get
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: his mom in check? His mom has never been in check.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: This ain't new, so I don't know. You know, he's
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: got to sit his mom down and go, mom, just
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: my family. I loved them. Yeah, and he's got to
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: make the case in point to her so she can
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: lighten up, or you're gonna lose, you know us, because
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: I'm not gonna keep bringing my girl around for this hire,
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: for you to do this to And maybe she'll come around.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: I don't know, but I don't think she will because
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: she old old heath and what old battle that. Oh,
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: I'm talking about, cranky with a ank on, a big
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: old rusty ankle. She's mean though she's a mean she's
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: a mean woman. Man is It's hard to deal with
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: people that stink. She did everything but call her ugly.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: She really did. She insults her everything, her cooking or cleaning,
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: her decorating style, how they parent their finances. Called the
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: baby a brat, right, Called the baby a brad, said
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: her husband as a boyfriend is a side useful man. Yeah.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: And then she said they need it, they need her
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: advice because they're young and they don't know anything. Man. Yeah.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: And then she's pregnant with their second child. Who she's right.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: He doesn't need that kind of stress. No, she don't.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: Your main concern is the health of your baby. Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: he definitely needs to sit down and and talk to
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: his mom. Maybe they can do it together, you know, Look,
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: let's try to get along as a family. Huh you
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: mean together with the baby mom. Yeah, I mean, maybe
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: the two of them can set the mom down and say, look,
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: we can't do this. Because if they permit present a
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: united front to the mom, maybe she'll get it. And
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: where where's the dad? Where's her husband? She doesn't have
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: one in all this. He left when he was a boy,
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: when the sun was Yeah, he got hit by a
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: car when he probably know. I'm just saying he father
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: might not be in his life at all. Is he
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: trying to get back over there because he got to
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: deal with her? Yeah, But they gotta do something because
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: I you know, like I said, I think it's harsh
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: if she doesn't want her in the new baby's life
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: and not to come over there anymore. They have to work. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: she called him a brat, right, yeah, she's she's a mean,
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: mean one. Oh yeah, but you're right, he probably tuned
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: her out. Oh don't even Yeah, but does she just
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: walk up in their house and start talking or what?
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: How does she get in there? They have to let
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: her in sign. Yeah, they're gonna have to sit and
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: sit her down and really really talk to her and
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: tell her about herself in a respectful way. And luck
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: with that. But her question is how can she get
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: her man to step up and get his mom in check?
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: Maybe if they both do it together, because yeah, her
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: son has tuned him out and tuned her out, like
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: you say, Steve, Yeah, yeah, I mean completely tuned. It's
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: such a bad case right here, because you know, just
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: put an ultimatum down about mama can't come over the
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: house no more, and I don't have a relationship with
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: the child because her mother is so evil to her
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: first baby. Yeah yeah. And then Shirley, there's something to
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: play with them not being married, but it wouldn't matter
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: to her. She's an evil woman regardless, right right. She
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: might can be using the fact that they're not married
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: as the excuse, but she would be nasty to the
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: girl if they were married. Yeah, she would. She's trifling,
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: she would. And I agree with you with what you said.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: If they're in the hospital and she's making all this
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: noise about her mystery, it's crazy. You can't do that,
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: do that? What are you doing? Hey? Man? Listen. Hospitals
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: take that stuff serious. Yeah, and they really do because
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: so many children come in there that are abused and
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: it's their duty to report. Yeah. And then what is
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: the what does this? What does the mom know about
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: their finances? What is she criticizing them about their finances?
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: Why is she in he's too much in the business. Yeah,
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: he got a man up. Yeah, yeah. Coming up in
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: ten minutes, doctor Steve Perry will be here to talk
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: about his brand new talk show. It's called Breakthrough. Get
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: your mama, you're listening, and y'all joining us now we
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: got a family member. Uh. He's a highly sought out educator.
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: He's a motivational speaker. He's also contributed to CNN, MSNBC,
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: and after fighting for disadvantage children and families for over
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: thirty years, you can finally see his work on TV Yes,
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: he's got a new talk show on Fox. It's Breakthrough
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: with Doctor Steve Perry, and he's joining us to tell
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: us about the show. He is my friend. He is
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: at my mentoring camp every year and all we do
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: when we get there is we smoked meat. Yea, we smoke.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: We is meat smokers anywhere nearby. Vegetable sacrifice but nothing
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: not one. Yeah you want fire, but you better get
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: some metal. Mucles say, we don't have it meat with
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: meat on top of it. Other ladies and gentley, my buddy,
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: doctor Steve Perry, what's up. Congratulate and welcome. Yeah, I'm
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: really excited man to be a part of this because
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: what I get to do is I get to take
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: what you see, what you and I do when you're
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: working with the boys, or what I'm doing in the schools,
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: and I get to bring it to the people in
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: a very real and authentic way because people have a breakthrough.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: Everybody deserves to have a breakthrough because somebody, everybody have
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: something that they need to break through. Yeah, and you
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: got this show and then listen to me. It's a
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: daytime talk show. It's currently doing a two week trial run.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: So what we want to do is get behind it
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: to support it. It's airing an eight markets and so
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: the show is just what he said it is. I
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: don't know of anybody that's really more deserving because of
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: the road work he didn't put in. But also, man,
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: just the quality of understanding of children and young people
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: and high development. I just think it's run. So let
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: me let me say this to you. P. In each
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: episode to breakthrough, you're counseling a guest that may be
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: in a crisis of facing a life altering decision. What's
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: that like for you? Do you get to interject a
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: little humor? Do you keep it light? Yeah? We have fun.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: I mean we have fun because he can't be heavy
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: all the time and insight. You know, there's a very
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: powerful guest that we have. Her name is Cassie, and
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: Cassie's this redhead woman who's lost her husband to suicide.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: And that's a rough, tough topic, but her smile is
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: so effervescent and when you see her, Man, you're gonna think,
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: you know what, there ain't nothing that I'm dealing with
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: that I can't get through. And that's going to break
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: through for you. You know what I mean? As if
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: you were on the same token. We got a little
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: boy like H and I like Steph and I sometimes
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: have down and down in the mentor in camp who
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: feels himself. He told us we need him at the camp.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: This little boy told his mother to drink bleach called
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: a fat be what's done. I recognize that you do
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: things in particular way where you from, but right here,
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: these cameras can't save you from what it is I do.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: So I'm gonna need you. I'm gonna need you to
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: chill out. Yeah, And that's that's what I love about
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: the show, Doctor Perry, because you're so related Bowl and
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: you're a good listener. You're not just sitting up there
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: like you're not a part of what's going on. You
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: actually listen to these people and really delve into what's
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: going on and actually come up with a solution to
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: help them get their breakthrough. And that's what this comes
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: all about. Yeah, because because I'm trying to work through
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: my own breakthroughs too. You know, I'm a father. I
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: got two sons and you know, see you know, and
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: they wake up every single day. I think to prove
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: that I'm not really that good at what I do.
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: So I gotta you know. I think that they huddle
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: up every night like look you do it today, say
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: they wake up every morning to prove that you ain't
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: good what you do? They like this brother, he got
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: a TV show, But we know better. So all I
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: can be is humble and all I can do is listen.
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: And what I get to do is I get to
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: work with people for real on their real issues to
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: help them get to a place and honestly, to show
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: us that you can't have enough black people who are
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: doing good things on television. I mean, he really can't.
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: We haven't been represented for long enough. And then ate
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: you jump out there and doing a fantastic job. And
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: whatever I can do to add to the long weight
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: that you're putting up in front of us, I can't
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: say enough work that you do. Want to build on
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: that and Steve, on another note, you will appreciate doctor
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: Perry's bow ties on the show. Yeah, they're very fine.
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: They are very fine. Dude. Man, it's his work, man,
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: his work ethic, his commitment to the uplifting edification of
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: young people. I mean, this dude does it. I learned
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: from him every minute and camp when I listened to
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: him speak and you know we just sit around, man,
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: we just boys. Man. This is like one of them,
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: one of the people in my life, man who every
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: time he calls me is with uplift. You know, Yeah,
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: I ain't got to worry about him. Man. And Man,
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: I can't lead. They said this, he ain't never man
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: me and this dude and sit down and structured statement
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: someone to the press about some more ignorant mess I say, Man,
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: I just said so much stupid stuff in my life
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: and car a period. I'm in trouble. Man. They got
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: a clip on me saying this, send me the clip, dog.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: And then he goes, all right, man, this is what
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: we're gonna shape it this way. He don't never go
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: and I can't leave. You said, you know that's because
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: because honestly, and I tell people that's all the time,
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: that one of the things you're gonna see in Age
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: and Steve is just a good solid dude. And if
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: you don't do what you can to protect brothers like that,
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: then you ain't on our team. Period. I don't care.
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: You just ain't on our team. You're on a different team.
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: I don't care what color you come in, but you
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: ain't on our team. Right, you're not on our team,
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: and it's clip. And once you're not on our team,
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: you don't know the squad dog. So now you don't
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: come out to the you know, like you know when
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: we have to mentor and camp together. The meeting places
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: is my house out there to mentor, ain't can and
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: we gotta we gotta smoke. We gotta an area that's
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: about in the back end forty by fifty and it
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: screened in so the flies can't eat us. And all
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: we doing in there smoking meat. And if you're not
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: in on the team, you can't come out here. No, no, no,
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: I'm telling you. Gotta save up your calories. Otherwise you're
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: telling and you ain't gonna get along because I ain't
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: nothing but T shirt and whatever whatever's got the lastic
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: band on it. Because I'm telling you. Steve used to
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: tell you, y'all don't recognize that brother can straight cook
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: like straight every day I go out there. Look every
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: time I go back home, I'm like, I'll kick my
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: my smoker life. Dag. I'm smoking you suck. He's doing it. Hey, y'all,
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: let me tell you this man wedn't got off. But
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: I want you all to understand. So everybody that lives
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: in New York, LA, Houston, Atlanta, Detroit, Orlando, Florida, and Charlotte,
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: North Carolina and Phoenix were in all of these cities.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: New York, LA, Houston, Atlanta, Detroit, Orlando, Florida, Charlotte, North Carolina.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: Steve Perry's show is on Fox at one o'clock every day.
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: In this call breakthrough, I want you all to tune in, man,
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: so this two week run can be good, Doctor Perry.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: We love you, boyd. Stay with it now you're listening.
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: Well Tomorrow, Steve, it's your birthday and that's my dog. No.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: We've been talking about it, and we've been talking about aging.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: Happy birthday, man, Yeah, happy birthdays you healthy boy. You
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: look good boy, man, party and everything. You got some money, man,
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: thank you Jesus Lord. I ain't even gonna lie to
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: your birthday. Man, you ain't gonna lie to tea. I'm
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: so grateful to God because man, I man, let me
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: tell you something. And at not having money, I I
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: you know, it ain't like he can't relate to what
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: I'm talking about. So everybody out thinking and had these
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: moments or you just be going damn yeah, you know
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: I'm gonna do and you start thinking something you ever
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: had you have been so broke that you have crazy thoughts. Yeah. See,
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: that's why we empathize so much with the government shutdown,
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: because we know, Yeah, I was sitting at one time
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: in my apartment on the hand and rent You know,
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: they ed to slip notes under your door and guess
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: what I was thinking about going down there and set
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: the rental offense over so you don't from you and
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: burn the files up and then say I paid. And
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: if you're creative, you were creative. I just had to
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: chang money in there. Yall got Why does this sound
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: like comedy roulette? Why does this? He was, he just had.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: Have you ever been so broke that you think about
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: doing crazy stuff? Yeah, we've been. That's how we know
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: we can just infordize with the government shutdown, right because
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: we know how it is to live paycheck to paycheck,
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: or not have a check period, not be able to
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: pay your rent. All of that comedy. He does not care,
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: he said, he is not going to back down. Surety.
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: I was struggling so hard, and come one time my
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: birthday came around, I didn't get not a phone call
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: for my birthday because my cell phone was off. Nobody
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: but so they did call. No, I don't know if
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: they did or not. You know they did, but the
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: phone j junior junior, I came up when we was
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: in when I was in college, and wasn't no cell phone.
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: It was a landline and calling the next town calls
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: a dollar and something to call per minute. And you
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: didn't have that. What Yeah, that's when you run a
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: bill up man. Yeah, or Carl, I knew you could
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: relate to this empty out of all your old purses
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: and stuff and get the change at the bottom of
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: your bag. Yeah, man, you get change in the couch
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: though it's in't that couch. I got in that couch. Man.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: You ever just walked in the grocery store and start
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: eating whatever you mean, like some great grapes? Great, I'm
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: talking about I'm talking about down that aisle, opening up meat.
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: I used to pile groceries in a grocery car, put
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: a pack of ham on top. Go get me some
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: bread and some mustard. While I walk around. I tatted
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: pack over with the meat, but just keep walking. Then
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: I tatted bread open and keep walking. Then I squirted
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: some mustard on it, keep walking. Then next thing you know,
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: I had the whole pack of ham between two slices
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: of the bread, and as I walk, I just bite
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: and chew, and fifteen I ate the whole sandwich and
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: then I just walk out lead the grocery car. Now
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: is and therething ever? Everything Dog I had to I
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: handle a choice. I didn't have it. I think the
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: only thing I've ever done is when you go to SAMs,
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: they have so much stuff for you to sam those samples. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: that ain't no, that's if you hang around loan No,
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: they're gonna run you off doorf I did read somewhere
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: that when you go in the grocery store and you
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: take the grapes and eat them and all that that
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: is considered stealing. They don't get you for that steal.
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: They don't charge you for you kat eat nothing out
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: of that. You didn't pay stealer. Yeah, I didn't ate
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: some apples and oranges. Dog, I went in there too,
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: sty What are we talking about? This? Into an apple?
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: When you went in he was needed orange? You peeled?
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: What do you peel? Eat? Peel it? I made a
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: sandwich I'm talking about Tommy said, he ate an apple,
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: loud apple. But why Steve, I know how much you
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: love peanut butter. Did you make it down the peanut butter? Ayle?
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: Because I know how much you love yea. I used
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: to take fall open the peanut butter. Y'all had a
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: big spoon and just put it in the fall and
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: do what with it? Put it in my shirt, my
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: jacket and walk on that. Take it with you, the
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: peanut butter. I don't have a job. Peanut butter free
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: red eyes fall. Now you ain't done hing? But I
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: didn't had them grapes looking like weeds? What no grapes
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: own it? It just like what is? What is that?
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: Is that a new platform? I didn't made grapes look
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: like weed? My trape, this hill top all right, grape's
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: gonna top making a whole sand lu and two pieces
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: of bread. Babies can get grapes. I'm the reason. I
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: am so come on single handedly responsible for the sign
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: that you see at the gas pay before you come.
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: When I was homeless, I'm the reason. But that sign
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: is on gas pumps of nationwide because in the run
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: I had from eighty to seven to ninety that run
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: right there down south. Uh look out for Bonneville approaching
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: nine eighty six. Bonneville approaching uh Negro at the wheel up.
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: Believe he's uh, they say it African American. H he's uh,
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: he's still in gas. Oh. He just putting three dollars
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: in down the titch and pull them right on like
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: it like if you came out like you was like
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: kneeling around or something. I cut it off. It went
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: to it. Oh, so you would just get what you could. Yeah,
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: you know, when I can't stand there, you know, fill
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: up the whole tank. Sometimes it had to be a
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: quiet or a lot of traffic. It's all this why
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: you can't be president? All this stuff right here? This, Oh,
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: I don't know he can be president now? Yeah, background
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: checking everything. Yeah, I'm black. All right, we gotta we'll
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: be back. We'll let more of the Steve Harvey Morning
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: Show coming up right after this. You're listening to show, okay,
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: Uh listen. This is a never ending story, guys, and
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: more stuff is coming out more fallout from the Surviving
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: R Kelly docu series. Both America, can Idol and The
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: Voice announced that they'd be dropping our Kelly's music from
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: the shows, and an insider says that a lot of times,
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: I believe I Can Fly has been an option and
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: a staple performers too, For performers to sing in auditions.
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: I didn't know that. And on the show itself, or
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: if our Kelly songs have been used as background for
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: vignette or something, that didn't know that either. But that's
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: not going to be the case anymore. It's actually not
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: a shock that the voice is dropping his music. As
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: you know, John Legend, who appeared in the Lifetime docuseries,
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: will be one of the coaches for season sixteen. And
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: I'm sure he's not having it. Yeah, he's not having it.
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: You've been not open up for him. And they really
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: should have a place to where you send people to
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: get theirs. They really should have it. Oh, they have it.
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: What's it called. It's called prisoner. They have it. They
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: got another place to the starts with a pee, y'all scared.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: It's just playground, y'all. I was trying to think of
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: what it was. I think we were. You can get
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: your head whipping. Everybody got the whoping on playground. Everyone.
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: Most people have. Yes, we know you've took. One of
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: my most severe was on the place a lot of place.
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: You was talking noise in front of the color stuff.
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: I think that's where you started. A k A. Stop,
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: got up, stop, stopped beating my ass under the basket
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: one time. Wait. Wait why they call him stop though?
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: Because when he ate, he always stopped his plate. I
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: don't care what he did. I don't care what he
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: had corns. He stopped his plate. Three fingers and some
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: bread swirled. It ain't twist it, boy, twist it twist
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: sit Wow. I can't tell you the real reason. So
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: we're gonna go with that one. Well, we got to
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: say congratulations to J Drake because in other music news,
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: Drake might be taking over Las Vegas. Recently, he performed
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: at the XS Nightclub at when the Win Hotel in Vegas.
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: He hinted at a residency. Um, he said, Vegas. When
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: I come back, I thought it'd be um. I thought
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: I'd be back at the Tmobile Arena or some stuff
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: like that. But I'll be back right here at the
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: Excess all year. You all have a lot of chances
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: to see me, he told the crowd. Other reports have
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: revealed that Drake inked a twenty five million dollar deal
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: to do twelve shows. Over two years, and official announcement
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: is reportedly coming soon. So congratulations to him. Twelve right shows. Yeah,
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: that's almost like two million a show right here? As
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: we doing? Wait wait stop? Well, when is we going
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: to it again? Tommy queen? As we going to the queen?
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: This is queen? Ain't queen at the Queen? Your nephew stude.
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: You hear your nephew talking to you? This is that
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: makes no sense. If we come together as one and
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: go to the Queen, we will plan come home. Man,
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: we'll be back with Martha the Steve Harvey Morning Show
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: right after this. Crazy you're listening to the Steve Harvey
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: Morning Show. In entertainment news, Alicia Keys, congratulations to her.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: Alicia Keys has been tapped to host the twenty nineteen
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: Grammy Awards. That's cool, right. She shared a video on
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: her YouTube channel making the big announcement. She said, I'm
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: so excited to announce that I'll be hosting the sixty
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: feet annual Grammy Awards. She says, there's so much in store. Yeah,
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: there's so much in store, and she can't wait for
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: us to see it and for it all to come
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: to life. The Grammys will air live on February tenth
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: on CBS. And who's hosting the Oscars? No one. I
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: think it's useless. Yeah, no, no host Oscars. I think
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: everybody that go up there, they just bring up the
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: next person. You just keep it moving. That's all. That's
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: only way you can. Yeah, yeah, that's gonna be next.
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: I I ain't got to watch it. Nohow, but I
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: really after they played Kevin like that, I said, I'm
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: not watching. I probably will watch it, no way, But
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: you know, this just gives you a better reason. Now, Oh,
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: this was a show, ain't gonna it ain't gonna be on.
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: But I love the fact that Kevin is still winning
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: though he has a number one movie in country right now,
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: you know with the other do yeah, I mean there's
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: a talent. Yeah, you responsible to right, he got t
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: let work ethic great dude, man yeah man. Yeah, and
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: and other entertainment news congratulations are in order for our girl.
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: He's got plenty of money. Kevin had enough money to
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: buy his co host calls and everything. You know what
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: I'm saying he got I just wanted to put that
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: out there. His cost, you know, you say, was gonna
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: be different. I'm just telling you right now. You're talking
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: about the guys at tool with him. Yes, yeah, y'all
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: need to it no way, what you mean? I was
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: on to it with you for a long time one.
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: I mean we did a long time one. Ye. Then
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: you start smelling yourself broke off, told me no, I
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: got We're not gonna do this. You know my money

- 1:32:29Speaker 1: You don't want to miss it at forty nine after
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: the hour you're listening to morning show. All right, here
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: we are, guys, last break of the day. It's been
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: a good days, been a good day. Yeah, birthday, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: I'll be here. How you feeling, man? Oh? You know, man,
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: I don't feel I don't feel older. But you know what,
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: it's getting crazy because these years are going by way
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: faster now. But you know what they said, when you
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: get older older, they go faster. Each year, it goes faster.
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: That's what I heard that, especially at this age, man,
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: because you got to look at mortality and you know
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: immortality mortality or you know motails. But you know, it's
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: just that's such a blessing. Man. I just never saw
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: sixty two. Really, that's not that I'm saying I didn't
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: think I'd make it to sixty two. I just it
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: was just a number I thought was so big and
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: so far away, you know, because it seems like just
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: a minute ago I was forty. Yeah, yeah, you know
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: forty man. Well, I'm Steve in lieu of your birthday
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: and everything. I guess your nephew has decided he's going
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: to do closing remarks for you. Yeah. Really, yeah, I mean,
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: what a gift. What a gift? Okay, okay, let me
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: step up it high state my closing remarks today. It's
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: called homework. That is what my closing remarks are about.
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: It's about homework. When I was in school, I did
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: my homework. I didn't I didn't do it to the
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: level of where I should have done it. I didn't
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: do it the way I was supposed to do it.
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: But I did my homework just enough to get by.
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: I did my homework. You're in high school, you're in
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: junior high school, you're in college, you do your homework,
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: that's what you're supposed to do, and then life kicks
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: in after all of that. After all of that, life starts,
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: and then God puts you in a different classroom and
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: you're supposed to do your homework. And sometimes I didn't
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: do my homework when I was in the life class.
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: So here I am now at the age that I am.
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: I'm fifty one years old, and I keep looking back
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: and I'm saying, Wow, there's some homework that I passed
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: up on. I'm in a position now. I had my
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: own TV show for the first time, and now I'm
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: in a position wondering am I going to get it again?
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: But the class that I was in before was my
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: uncle's class, and I watched him, but I wasn't doing
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: my homework. I wasn't watching what he was going through.
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: I was with him while he was going through it,
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: but I wasn't doing my homework. So I don't have
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: a long closing remark. All I can do is tell
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: you is do your homework, because at some point it's
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: going to pay off or it's not going to pay off.
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: If you've done your homework, then you've watched long enough,
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: You've studied long enough, you're you're you're soaking it in
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: long enough to guess what the homework is going to
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: pay off. Here, I am wondering did I do enough homework?
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: And when I get to do what I'm looking forward
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: to doing in the future, did I do enough of
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: my homework? That is? That's the closing remarks from the
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: Excuse me, sir, excuse no, excuse me? What have you
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: done with Tommy? Who are you? Stop all this? Who
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: is that birthday? Tom Man? Where is Tommy? I'm so
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: damn confused. I mean that was good. I was sitting
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: it was really good. Yeah, my sister's child like that.
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: I'm scared. Yeah, that was good Tommy though, so Steve.
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: What he's saying is he's been listening now you and
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: think that you your mentoring was getting through, but it's
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: getting up through now. It's it's sort of crazy, you know.
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: You know, I actually, in all honesty, can see him
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: getting it and getting a grasp on it. But I
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: think what's helpful is that he's now seen it. He's
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: he's got the view from the stage. Now. It's it's
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: different when you got an audience seat. The audience seat,
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: you just see though the stage, the lights, the curtains,
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: the ambiance, the special effects. When you on stage, you
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: was behind the curtain for you walked out all that
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: stuff in the back. Man, it's what it is. It's
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: like when I met with Dapper Dan up in New York.
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: He made the coat that I wore on New y
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: Is Ea. And me and Dapper Dan was having a conversation. Man,
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: and I started crying talking to Dapper Dan because man,
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: he was so rich with information. And I realized, man
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: like me and him were sitting up talking. Cats like
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: me and him is a dying breed. It ain't many
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: me and Dapper dance, and me and Dap were sitting
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: up there just talking about what we knew about Harlem
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: and how I was like back in the day, and
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: what Cleveland was like and running numbers and hustling like
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: that to real win. I mean, man, we just set
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: up there. We had a great conversation and Dapper Dan
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: says something really important to me. He says, Steve Harvey,
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: what I respect about you is your road work. He said, Man,
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: you put in road work. Brother, he said, in the gym,
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: everybody d gym, punching bag, speed bag, dancing round cameras.
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: He said, what day You'll never see no camera following,
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: no fighter when you're doing road work because it's four
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: o'clock in the morning and it's dog don't nobody won't flops.
