Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / WH Excuse for Biden's Debate Performance? "He had a Cold!"
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: It was a disaster. The whole world watched it.
- 0:04Speaker 2: There was a large audience, and people saw with their
- 0:07Speaker 2: own eyes just how bad the cognitive decline is of
- 0:11Speaker 2: Joe Biden. But Joe Biden doesn't fall down and not
- 0:15Speaker 2: get back up. No, no, folks, He's gonna get back up.
- 0:20Speaker 2: And now he's saying, look, I may not be as
- 0:22Speaker 2: brilliant as I used to be. Right, I may not
- 0:25Speaker 2: be as smart as I used to be. It may
- 0:27Speaker 2: not be as fast as I used to be. But
- 0:28Speaker 2: by golly, when you get knocked down, you get back up.
- 0:33Speaker 2: That is what Joe Biden said, jumping back onto the
- 0:37Speaker 2: campaign trail with a quote renewed energy. Apparently the lie
- 0:41Speaker 2: that he had a cold at the debate disappeared within
- 0:45Speaker 2: twelve hours after that disastrous debate, and so Joe Biden
- 0:49Speaker 2: went out there and he's fired up. He returned the
- 0:52Speaker 2: campaign trail on Friday to make it clear I'm not
- 0:56Speaker 2: going anywhere after Democrat went berserk after and actually during
- 1:03Speaker 2: the debate, saying how do we get rid of him?
- 1:05Speaker 2: Who can we replace him with? What does this look like?
- 1:09Speaker 2: What do the laws say if we get rid of
- 1:11Speaker 2: him and no one votes for it? The next person
- 1:13Speaker 2: that we give all the support behind at the Democratic convention.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Will that make voters angry feeling like they were disenfranchised
- 1:22Speaker 2: on the Democratic side. Well, look, you still got to
- 1:25Speaker 2: have one guy agreed to step down for any of
- 1:27Speaker 2: that to happen.
- 1:28Speaker 1: His name is Joe Biden. He's eighty one years.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Old, and he has acknowledged now the concerns but pledged
- 1:35Speaker 2: that he has what it takes quote to prevail. I'm
- 1:40Speaker 2: going to read this for you so you can hear
- 1:43Speaker 2: exactly what he said to the crowd.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Biden in his own words, I.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Would not be running if I did not believe with
- 1:49Speaker 2: all my heart and soul that I can do this job.
- 1:53Speaker 2: The crowd jacked up just as much as they were
- 1:56Speaker 2: hoping Joe would have been during the debate, started chanting,
- 1:58Speaker 2: yes you can. So they're rooting for him to like, basically,
- 2:03Speaker 2: stay alive.
- 2:04Speaker 1: The stakes are too high.
- 2:06Speaker 2: He went on to say Donald Trump is a genuine
- 2:09Speaker 2: threat to this nation. Donald Trump will destroy our democracy,
- 2:13Speaker 2: and I will defend it. He conceded, Yes, okay, maybe
- 2:18Speaker 2: I may have lost a step or two since my
- 2:20Speaker 2: victory in twenty twenty, but he was trying to reset
- 2:24Speaker 2: the discussion to make a start contrast in the election.
- 2:27Speaker 2: This is what the campaign team believes they needed to
- 2:30Speaker 2: do right after the disasters. Debate the worst debate in
- 2:33Speaker 2: political history that I've ever seen. And what did Joe
- 2:37Speaker 2: Biden say? The writers had him read this. I don't
- 2:40Speaker 2: walk as easy as I used to. I don't speak
- 2:42Speaker 2: as smoothly as I used to. I don't debate as
- 2:45Speaker 2: well as I used to. But I know what I
- 2:48Speaker 2: do know. I know how to tell the truth, I
- 2:51Speaker 2: know right from wrong. I know how to do this job.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Now. Biden also had another.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Moment that's going to sound like a dick tator and
- 3:00Speaker 2: or a tyrant moment is I would describe it. And
- 3:04Speaker 2: this was a moment when Joe Biden agreed with the
- 3:07Speaker 2: crowd as they were saying it's time to lock Donald
- 3:12Speaker 2: Trump up and there's a very real chance at sentencing
- 3:14Speaker 2: in New York that could actually happen.
- 3:17Speaker 1: And he even says there's time for that.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Listen carefully to Joe Biden's words as the chance explode
- 3:25Speaker 2: at the Biden rally in North Carolina.
- 3:28Speaker 1: He's got more trials come home.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Time for that.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Look, there's time for that. And then he grins.
- 3:45Speaker 2: If you want to know what a psychopath looks like,
- 3:48Speaker 2: this would be Joe Biden. If you want to know
- 3:50Speaker 2: what psychopaths will look like around a crazy person, look
- 3:54Speaker 2: no further than his wife, Joe Biden, who apparently cares
- 3:59Speaker 2: more about being theay than she does about protecting her
- 4:01Speaker 2: own husband. There is no way that if you watch
- 4:05Speaker 2: the debate and you witnessed him go on the fritz
- 4:08Speaker 2: several times, that you think that he is capable of
- 4:11Speaker 2: handling this job.
- 4:13Speaker 1: There is no way.
- 4:14Speaker 2: And this includes Democratic donors who are watching. They believe
- 4:17Speaker 2: that he's going to be around for I don't even
- 4:19Speaker 2: know if you could say six months months less another
- 4:21Speaker 2: four years. And the other question that everybody should be
- 4:25Speaker 2: asking themselves after the debate, And there was so much
- 4:27Speaker 2: to dissect after debate, and so this is the question
- 4:30Speaker 2: that I said afterwards. I'm like, this is the first
- 4:32Speaker 2: question we should have all been asking ourselves if Joe
- 4:36Speaker 2: Biden isn't.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Running the country.
- 4:38Speaker 2: And I mean that when I say that Joe Biden
- 4:40Speaker 2: is not running this country, it's obvious then who is
- 4:45Speaker 2: who is running the country. Now think about that for
- 4:49Speaker 2: just a moment, and I want to go to another
- 4:52Speaker 2: article that was written, and it is one that I
- 4:56Speaker 2: really think puts into perspective just how massive the cognitive
- 5:00Speaker 2: decline is of the president.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Quote it pains me quote unquote.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Then it says with his political article, how Biden's devastating
- 5:12Speaker 2: debate went over at an assisted living facility. The reaction
- 5:19Speaker 2: was grim. This coming out of chevy Chase, Maryland. It's
- 5:24Speaker 2: not far from well where the president lives at sixteen
- 5:27Speaker 2: hundred Pennsylvania.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Avenue, just so you know.
- 5:31Speaker 2: And a reporter decided to do something for an article
- 5:34Speaker 2: that was a very interesting idea. Literally go to retirement facility,
- 5:39Speaker 2: an old folks home and sit with those that were
- 5:43Speaker 2: watching the debate and then ask them what they saw
- 5:47Speaker 2: just before the first debate, The writer writes, between the
- 5:51Speaker 2: oldest two major party president of Kenneton history, a TV
- 5:57Speaker 2: ad attacking President Joe Biden asked if he's response to
- 6:00Speaker 2: inflation is dishonest or is it dementia? Watching from an
- 6:07Speaker 2: assistant living facility just outside of Washington, d c. Barbara
- 6:11Speaker 2: Goldberg eighty one groaned and put her head in her hands.
- 6:16Speaker 2: The candidates' ages, she said, are not really relevant to
- 6:20Speaker 2: the other issues that are quote more important.
- 6:23Speaker 1: This is someone who's the same age as the president.
- 6:26Speaker 2: And then, over the course the next ninety minutes, as
- 6:29Speaker 2: the residence of the Brighton Gardens of Friendship, Heights popped
- 6:33Speaker 2: skittles and repeatedly asked for the volume on the community
- 6:36Speaker 2: TV to be turned up. Age suddenly became all that
- 6:41Speaker 2: mattered when by eighty one appeared to lose his train
- 6:45Speaker 2: of thought and said, inexplicably, we finally beat Medicare. Goldberg
- 6:51Speaker 2: put her head in her hands again. We finally beat Medicare.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Question mark, she asked to those sitting around her. For Biden,
- 7:01Speaker 2: it was a disaster. His allies had seen the debate
- 7:05Speaker 2: as his best chance to yet ease the concerns about
- 7:08Speaker 2: his age, a persistent liability for his campaign, and the
- 7:13Speaker 2: perception of older voters, who turned up to vote at
- 7:16Speaker 2: higher levels than any other age group, is critical to
- 7:20Speaker 2: the Democratic presidency. Biden lost voters sixty five and older
- 7:26Speaker 2: to Donald Trump by five percent points back in twenty twenty.
- 7:30Speaker 2: But it is courting them aggressively in the run up
- 7:32Speaker 2: to November because they know they can't lose any more
- 7:35Speaker 2: than that and expect to win. I think that he
- 7:39Speaker 2: is rushing it when Resident said, and he's not looking
- 7:42Speaker 2: at the camera for the most part is what mag
- 7:45Speaker 2: maguire eighty one said, who was visiting the facility to
- 7:49Speaker 2: watch the debate with her husband, She said, quote in
- 7:54Speaker 2: terms of just physical relationship to the camera, Trump is
- 7:57Speaker 2: doing better, even if, as she puts it, Trump says garbage.
- 8:03Speaker 2: I do think Biden's age is showing at the debate,
- 8:06Speaker 2: and it pains me. She went on to say. Goldberg agreed,
- 8:10Speaker 2: saying I don't like to see Biden's gaffes, but I
- 8:14Speaker 2: don't like to see Trump going Haywire and Kakamemi either. Trump,
- 8:20Speaker 2: at seventy eight, has had his own stumbles in recent
- 8:23Speaker 2: months to article rights. While arguing at campaign rally recently
- 8:27Speaker 2: that Biden should take a cognitive test like I did,
- 8:30Speaker 2: he fled the name of Representative Johnny Jackson or Ronnie Jackson,
- 8:34Speaker 2: his former physician, calling him Doc Ronnie Johnson. But at
- 8:39Speaker 2: the debate, while his lies drew criticism the author rights,
- 8:43Speaker 2: Trump's age was nearly a non factor in a Gallop
- 8:48Speaker 2: Pole release this week. Some two thirds of Americans said
- 8:51Speaker 2: Biden is too old to be present, compared to just
- 8:53Speaker 2: thirty seven percent who said the same about Trump, and
- 8:56Speaker 2: of that thirty seven percent, you can guess it overwhelming
- 8:59Speaker 2: the majority of them are Democrats. So when you look
- 9:03Speaker 2: at the age argument s last question, traditionally, people that
- 9:07Speaker 2: are older are willing to give you more of a
- 9:11Speaker 2: pass or leeway before saying that your cognitive decline is
- 9:15Speaker 2: well at a point where you can't be trusted. We
- 9:17Speaker 2: know that, But what we witness from those that were
- 9:21Speaker 2: older when it came to the reality of the situation
- 9:23Speaker 2: with Joe Biden is they were quicker to reach the
- 9:27Speaker 2: point of assessment where they're like, Yeah, this guy's just
- 9:29Speaker 2: too old.
- 9:30Speaker 1: And this is.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Coming from people that were watching this at a senior's
- 9:34Speaker 2: citizen's living facility. There's also something else that happened. It
- 9:40Speaker 2: wasn't just the age issue. It was also just the
- 9:45Speaker 2: fact that the president of the United States of America
- 9:47Speaker 2: couldn't hide behind his lack of knowledge and lack of
- 9:51Speaker 2: understanding of the basic issues. I mentioned this in my
- 9:57Speaker 2: show the night that we did the debate, and I
- 10:01Speaker 2: said it.
- 10:01Speaker 1: You can go back and listen to it.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Senator Cruz and I did a joint podcast for our
- 10:05Speaker 2: show and my show, and one of the things that
- 10:08Speaker 2: I said in there, and I think it's a really
- 10:11Speaker 2: important point to be made, is that you look at
- 10:15Speaker 2: this president on the debate stage. He couldn't even fill
- 10:18Speaker 2: two minutes when he was asked a question about social Security,
- 10:21Speaker 2: which is vitally important. Politicians, by the way, can riff
- 10:25Speaker 2: on virtually anything for like at least ten minutes, it's
- 10:28Speaker 2: not hard, but on something like social Security, the fact
- 10:31Speaker 2: that this man's been involved in it for forty plus
- 10:34Speaker 2: years in elected office, he should have been able to
- 10:37Speaker 2: fill more.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Than like thirty seconds.
- 10:40Speaker 2: And the moderators had to look at him, and the
- 10:42Speaker 2: monerators had to say, hey, you still have a lot
- 10:44Speaker 2: of time left, you want to say anything else. That
- 10:48Speaker 2: wasn't the only issue. It also was an issue on
- 10:51Speaker 2: the issue of African Americans and the economy, where clearly
- 10:56Speaker 2: he got lost again and didn't have anything to say,
- 11:00Speaker 2: and so they said, hey, you still have more time.
- 11:04Speaker 2: You have your two minutes, mister president, would you like
- 11:07Speaker 2: to use it?
- 11:09Speaker 1: And then he tried to fill again.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Those were the moments that I would refer to as
- 11:15Speaker 2: a catastrophic train wreck. And I'm not the only one
- 11:19Speaker 2: that believes this. I want you to listen to what
- 11:22Speaker 2: was said on CNN. There were two points that were
- 11:25Speaker 2: set on CNN. There was one that was right after
- 11:27Speaker 2: the debate, and that was one where John King came in,
- 11:31Speaker 2: and what John King said was honest, but it was
- 11:34Speaker 2: also I think the rest of the democratic world they
- 11:37Speaker 2: were running around like chickens with their heads cut off,
- 11:40Speaker 2: trying to figure out how do we get rid of
- 11:42Speaker 2: Joe Biden.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Listen, it's into the debate and it continues right now.
- 11:46Speaker 3: It involves party strategists, it involves elected officials, it involves fundraisers,
- 11:51Speaker 3: and they're having conversations about the president's performance, which they
- 11:54Speaker 3: think was dismal, which they think will hurt other people
- 11:57Speaker 3: down the party in the ticket, and they're having conversations
- 11:59Speaker 3: about what they should do about it. Some of those
- 12:01Speaker 3: conversations include should we go to the White House and
- 12:03Speaker 3: ask the president's step aside or other of the conversations
- 12:07Speaker 3: are about should prominent Democrats go public with that call
- 12:11Speaker 3: because they feel this debate was so terrible.
- 12:14Speaker 1: They do say in moments in the debate.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Later the president got better and got his footing, but
- 12:18Speaker 3: then at the end even his closing statement was a
- 12:20Speaker 3: little halting. The contrast between the two candidates. Let me
- 12:23Speaker 3: be clear, none of them and a lot of Republicans
- 12:26Speaker 3: don't think Donald Trump had a great night. Donald Trump
- 12:28Speaker 3: broke the fact check machine more than I can count tonight.
- 12:30Speaker 3: That will be on the record as we go forward.
- 12:32Speaker 3: He refused to answer some very specific and direct questions
- 12:35Speaker 3: about his conduct about January sixth.
- 12:37Speaker 1: And what all.
- 12:38Speaker 3: So that will be dealt with out there. And sometimes
- 12:40Speaker 3: there's a parallel universe between the political elites and the
- 12:44Speaker 3: American people. Be nice to see what the voters say.
- 12:47Speaker 3: But I can tell you it started minutes in. It
- 12:49Speaker 3: started with the first couple of answers, and it has
- 12:51Speaker 3: continued throughout the night from oh my god, Oh my god,
- 12:53Speaker 3: oh my god.
- 12:54Speaker 1: To what do we do about this?
- 12:55Speaker 3: And it involves very senior people in the Democratic Party,
- 12:58Speaker 3: including elected.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Officials, saying we have a problem just now.
- 13:01Speaker 2: That was instantly after the debate was over, and they
- 13:04Speaker 2: went to Anderson Cooper. So that was like raw initial
- 13:08Speaker 2: reaction for John King to say what he said so bluntly.
- 13:12Speaker 2: I think those in the senior levels he's describing, which
- 13:15Speaker 2: could have been Chuck Schumer, which could be Kamala Harrison,
- 13:18Speaker 2: her aides right, like going out there going, hey man,
- 13:21Speaker 2: we see it, we know there's a problem. We're going
- 13:23Speaker 2: to try to get him to step aside. He clearly
- 13:27Speaker 2: knew and they knew that he was going to go
- 13:29Speaker 2: on TV and say that they wanted him to. But
- 13:32Speaker 2: then we go back to just the overall train wreck.
- 13:35Speaker 2: It didn't stop. So what I played for you, and
- 13:37Speaker 2: I timestamped this because I think it's important. Was it
- 13:40Speaker 2: about ten thirty eight, right after the debate ended?
- 13:44Speaker 1: All right? That first equipped there from John King.
- 13:47Speaker 2: I'm going to fast forward now till a little after
- 13:50Speaker 2: eleven o'clock Eastern time. All right, so about twenty plus
- 13:53Speaker 2: minutes later, and they went into the debate hall where
- 13:56Speaker 2: they have all your sarrogates at the spin room, right
- 13:59Speaker 2: where everybody spending who won, who lost. We didn't have
- 14:02Speaker 2: any of that conversation last night. There was nothing about
- 14:04Speaker 2: winning or losing. It was all about how bad it
- 14:07Speaker 2: was for Joe Biden. There wasn't even a conversation about, well,
- 14:09Speaker 2: who won tonight who lost tonight? Everybody knew who lost,
- 14:12Speaker 2: and that's how they treated it. I want you to
- 14:15Speaker 2: listen to Chris Wallace, remember the guy that used to
- 14:18Speaker 2: be at Fox who acted like a conservative and then
- 14:21Speaker 2: went to CNN and now we know he's a hardcore,
- 14:24Speaker 2: like crazy liberal. Here's what he even said from the
- 14:27Speaker 2: debate spin room.
- 14:29Speaker 4: And this has been quite frankly a car accident in
- 14:33Speaker 4: slow motion that we've seen over and building and questioning it.
- 14:37Speaker 4: And you know, as has been pointed out, Joe Biden
- 14:41Speaker 4: sawt this debate at this remarkably early time because he
- 14:44Speaker 4: knew he was losing and he needed to change the narrative.
- 14:48Speaker 4: And he did change the narrative. He sunk his campaign tonight.
- 14:52Speaker 2: He sunk his campaign tonight. Why do you think he's
- 14:56Speaker 2: saying it that way? Because they believed it, but they
- 14:58Speaker 2: also knew they had I had to turn on Joe
- 15:01Speaker 2: Biden quickly and see if they could.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Force him out.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Now, there is zero indication that Joe Biden from his
- 15:08Speaker 2: jumping on stage with his wife saying you're so brilliant.
- 15:12Speaker 2: You answered all the questions like you're a two year
- 15:14Speaker 2: old okay, with the background let's go Joe behind him
- 15:18Speaker 2: and saying I'm so proud of you.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Did so great.
- 15:21Speaker 2: There's a human human side of this, like a humanity
- 15:24Speaker 2: aspect of this. I really don't know how the first
- 15:28Speaker 2: lady sleeps at night knowing that this is to me
- 15:31Speaker 2: elder abuse. At this point, they know how far gone
- 15:35Speaker 2: he is. We got to see it. Even after Democrats
- 15:41Speaker 2: lied and they did everything he could to protect him,
- 15:43Speaker 2: they kept saying, oh, these are deep fakes. Right, remember
- 15:47Speaker 2: when they said that just a week and a half ago,
- 15:49Speaker 2: when you saw the president go on the fritz and
- 15:52Speaker 2: his brain stop working at events like oh no, no, that's.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Doctored video, right, it's doctored.
- 15:58Speaker 2: You guys are saying, don't bel leave your lying eyes, right,
- 16:01Speaker 2: And that's what the media was saying.
- 16:03Speaker 1: There's also an incredible.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Level I would argue of lack of credibility here for
- 16:11Speaker 2: so many of the Democratic Party as well as the media.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Like I talk about bias and media a lot, I
- 16:17Speaker 2: take it back, I don't talk about it. I just
- 16:19Speaker 2: pointed out and I move on because it's become so normal.
- 16:23Speaker 2: But there are people that refuse to admit that the
- 16:29Speaker 2: cognitivecline is real, that it's massive, right, Like, they just
- 16:34Speaker 2: at all costs, they just refuse to admit it, and
- 16:38Speaker 2: they sit there and they lie to you to cover
- 16:41Speaker 2: for the president. There has been zero accountability for that
- 16:44Speaker 2: from the elected officials to the members of the media
- 16:48Speaker 2: that continue to just say no, no, no, it's not happening.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Don't believe your lying eyes. And then they say, oh,
- 16:52Speaker 2: it's a doctored video. It's just a doctored it's just
- 16:56Speaker 2: a doctored video. That's not really Joe Biden. There was
- 16:58Speaker 2: nothing last night Primetime Live that was doctored. It was
- 17:03Speaker 2: all real, and they couldn't hide any longer. Just how
- 17:07Speaker 2: far gone Joe bidenss Which brings me back to the
- 17:10Speaker 2: question that.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I mentioned at the very beginning what.
- 17:13Speaker 2: We all and I think it was because it was
- 17:15Speaker 2: such a train wreck, It was such a car crash,
- 17:17Speaker 2: as Wallace just described it. I think the question that
- 17:21Speaker 2: we all should have been asking last night is, Okay,
- 17:27Speaker 2: he's not running the country, So who is running the country, Like,
- 17:32Speaker 2: don't believe your lying eyes. Biden's brain is sharper than ever.
- 17:38Speaker 2: That's their line, that's what they said. They lied, And
- 17:43Speaker 2: it's so bad that the next question we should be
- 17:46Speaker 2: asking is who's running the country, because whoever that person
- 17:50Speaker 2: is was not elected. Okay, was not elected. Whoever's running
- 17:56Speaker 2: the country right now was not elected. One other things
- 18:00Speaker 2: that scares the hell out of me as well that
- 18:01Speaker 2: I want to play for you white else. Press Secretary
- 18:03Speaker 2: Jean Pierre was obviously asked about the president's performance. And
- 18:10Speaker 2: there's a lie that they're telling us now, which is, oh,
- 18:13Speaker 2: he had a cold. These people have no souls when
- 18:20Speaker 2: you witness what we witnessed, and then they look at
- 18:22Speaker 2: you and they tell you, don't believe you're lying eyes.
- 18:25Speaker 2: It's just a cold. You should wonder what else they're
- 18:28Speaker 2: lying to you about. And I'm going to I would argue,
- 18:30Speaker 2: it's everything. Who's the president, it's not Joe Biden, so
- 18:35Speaker 2: who's ruying the country?
- 18:36Speaker 1: They won't tell you the truth on that.
- 18:38Speaker 2: They'll tell you the economy is great, when clearly the
- 18:40Speaker 2: economy is absolutely terrible and a total disaster right now.
- 18:44Speaker 1: And it's just sad that they will. I would argue,
- 18:47Speaker 1: this is elder abuse. This is the.
- 18:49Speaker 2: President, as it was described on the front page of
- 18:52Speaker 2: the New York Posts, just sad. President mumbles, stumbles, freezes
- 18:58Speaker 2: in train wrecked debate versus Trump. We've witnessed the end
- 19:03Speaker 2: of the Biden presidency. Maybe maybe not white Out Sprest
- 19:08Speaker 2: sing or Terry John beerre she believes no, no, no, I
- 19:10Speaker 2: can fix this, I can spin this. He's got a cold.
- 19:13Speaker 2: That's how little respect they have, by the way, for you.
- 19:16Speaker 2: They think you are so stupid that you will hear
- 19:19Speaker 2: them say that go and then instantly just agree with
- 19:22Speaker 2: it like a Jedi mind trick.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Listen, can you tell us more about his cold? When
- 19:26Speaker 1: did he contracted?
- 19:27Speaker 5: What did it affect his performance last night? Co Man? So, okay,
- 19:32Speaker 5: step back for a second.
- 19:33Speaker 6: So, yes, and I think we shared this with many
- 19:36Speaker 6: people yesterday. The president had a cold, he had a
- 19:38Speaker 6: sore throat.
- 19:40Speaker 5: That happens.
- 19:41Speaker 4: Uh.
- 19:42Speaker 5: And that's what you've heard last night. Uh.
- 19:45Speaker 6: And you know I'll leave it there. I don't have
- 19:47Speaker 6: anything else to add. I think Michael covered a lot
- 19:50Speaker 6: of this just moments ago. But yes, he had a cold,
- 19:53Speaker 6: he had a sore throat. Once he knew that he
- 19:56Speaker 6: had a cold and a sore throat, he tested, he
- 19:59Speaker 6: certainly test to for COVID.
- 20:01Speaker 5: It was negative.
- 20:02Speaker 7: Uh.
- 20:02Speaker 5: And then we moved on from there.
- 20:04Speaker 4: Why didn't in my house wait until the middle of
- 20:06Speaker 4: the debate to release that information.
- 20:07Speaker 5: I'll tell you this.
- 20:08Speaker 6: Look, he had a strong debate prep week and uh,
- 20:12Speaker 6: and he.
- 20:13Speaker 5: Got a cold, which happens. It happens it's not unusual.
- 20:18Speaker 6: Uh, it's not something you know, I mean, you don't
- 20:21Speaker 6: share every time you know the president has a cold.
- 20:24Speaker 6: It happened, Uh and once once once once he had
- 20:28Speaker 6: the cold and had a sore throat. Again he tested
- 20:31Speaker 6: negative for COVID And then we moved on.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Curious about the disclosure of that information.
- 20:36Speaker 5: I mean, Tyler, he got a cold.
- 20:38Speaker 8: It happened when the sequencing Mike and said it before
- 20:41Speaker 8: the debate in the middle of the way.
- 20:42Speaker 1: How you decided to went.
- 20:43Speaker 6: Oh, well, obviously during the debate, we were asked if
- 20:46Speaker 6: the president has a cold. We said, well, they would.
- 20:49Speaker 6: We were asked about his hoarse voice. We shared that
- 20:51Speaker 6: he had a cold. We shared that he tested negative,
- 20:53Speaker 6: and then we moved.
- 20:54Speaker 5: On, that's it. It was from his voice as he
- 20:56Speaker 5: was speaking during the debate.
- 20:57Speaker 6: Obviously, were there plans to let the public no, if
- 21:01Speaker 6: you weren't received, if you weren't asked from asked about it.
- 21:05Speaker 6: It happens he had a cold.
- 21:10Speaker 5: During the debate. That was the blame for why he
- 21:13Speaker 5: wasn't doing well.
- 21:14Speaker 6: Of course, voice, so people asked why he had a
- 21:15Speaker 6: horse voice because he had a cold, And we also
- 21:18Speaker 6: shared we went a step. We took a step further
- 21:21Speaker 6: and share that he tested for COVID.
- 21:23Speaker 5: It was negative. I mean, he had a cold, that's
- 21:26Speaker 5: what it was.
- 21:27Speaker 1: I love the laughter. He had a cold. Just he
- 21:30Speaker 1: had a cold. Ha ha, he just had a cold.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Somebody asked about his voice and and why was horse
- 21:35Speaker 2: and we just said, oh, he's got a cold and
- 21:37Speaker 2: he tested negative for COVID. We're fine, no big deal.
- 21:41Speaker 2: But here's our excuse. By the way, you can hear,
- 21:44Speaker 2: they're the media not buying this. Can you imagine if
- 21:47Speaker 2: Donald Trump had that excuse when he was going into
- 21:50Speaker 2: a debate looking like a senile old man who's lost
- 21:53Speaker 2: on stage, you can't put coherent sentences together. Can you imagine?
- 21:59Speaker 2: They would literate him. And even there the media is
- 22:03Speaker 2: like mad, but they're not. They're like, okay, I'm mad,
- 22:05Speaker 2: but what like, this is our only guy.
- 22:07Speaker 1: What do we do?
- 22:09Speaker 2: So we'll get her on the record and we'll kind
- 22:11Speaker 2: of push her so we can cover our own, you know,
- 22:13Speaker 2: our ABSs. But but we're gonna, you know, we're gonna
- 22:16Speaker 2: let everybody know, yeah, okay, maybe had a cold. Probably not,
- 22:20Speaker 2: but it might have had a cold. But yeah, that's
- 22:22Speaker 2: the excuse. But he's an old guy that did really well.
- 22:27Speaker 2: I go back to the question that we should all
- 22:29Speaker 2: be asking, and this guy's going to be president for
- 22:32Speaker 2: seven more months, even.
- 22:34Speaker 1: If he loses, Okay, even if he loses.
- 22:41Speaker 2: And the question that we have to ask is who
- 22:44Speaker 2: is the president of the United States of America. Who's
- 22:47Speaker 2: the one making the decisions? Is it Joe Biden? Is
- 22:52Speaker 2: it Kamala Harris?
- 22:54Speaker 1: Is is it?
- 22:55Speaker 2: I mean, the twenty fifth Amendment should be a topic
- 22:59Speaker 2: of conversation now like never before. It will not be
- 23:03Speaker 2: because the Democratic Party is going to unite under the
- 23:08Speaker 2: fact that Okay, we're going to try.
- 23:09Speaker 1: To push him out real quick. We get about a
- 23:10Speaker 1: week to do that.
- 23:11Speaker 2: If we don't do that, if we can't push him out,
- 23:16Speaker 2: then we got to I guess again, go and try
- 23:22Speaker 2: to convince you that it's just not that bad. And
- 23:25Speaker 2: he just had a cold. Let me let you listen
- 23:29Speaker 2: by the way to check Todd. And this is what
- 23:33Speaker 2: check Todd said on MSNBC later in the evening about
- 23:38Speaker 2: the debate.
- 23:39Speaker 8: You know, one of the things was would either candidate
- 23:41Speaker 8: look like the caricature that the other campaign has been
- 23:44Speaker 8: trying to paint of him? And at the end of
- 23:46Speaker 8: the day, Joe Biden looks like the caricature that conservative
- 23:50Speaker 8: media has been painting. And there were no clips tonight, right,
- 23:54Speaker 8: this was you saw it before your eyes. Look, I
- 23:57Speaker 8: don't want to just tell you what I think here, Tom.
- 24:01Speaker 8: I've been talking to a lot of leaders in the
- 24:04Speaker 8: Democratic Party, elected coalition leaders. There's a full on panic
- 24:10Speaker 8: about this performance. Not like, oh, this is recoverable. It
- 24:15Speaker 8: is more of a okay, he's got a step aside.
- 24:19Speaker 1: There's a lot of that chatter.
- 24:22Speaker 8: This is this is about as bad a of a
- 24:25Speaker 8: performance in order to that Biden could have delivered. H
- 24:30Speaker 8: if his goal was to try to sort of calm
- 24:34Speaker 8: the waters among Democrats.
- 24:35Speaker 1: I mean, look, he's.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Saying we need to get rid of him. He's saying,
- 24:41Speaker 2: it's clear we need to get rid of him. Now
- 24:44Speaker 2: you can get Joe Biden back up there, and you
- 24:47Speaker 2: can get a crowd around him, as they did today.
- 24:49Speaker 2: And this is a smart move by the Biden campaign to,
- 24:52Speaker 2: you know, to get him up there and then chant
- 24:54Speaker 2: lock him up, referring to Trump and him saying there's
- 24:57Speaker 2: time for that.
- 24:58Speaker 1: And that's the core point I want to go back
- 25:01Speaker 1: to here.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Joe Biden is up there, and the only way I
- 25:06Speaker 2: think he believes he's going to survive this the Democratic
- 25:08Speaker 2: Party is through warfare in the legal system.
- 25:12Speaker 1: And when he smiles and grins.
- 25:14Speaker 2: After their chanting lock him up, and Biden says he's
- 25:17Speaker 2: got more trials coming up, and then he said, there's
- 25:20Speaker 2: time for that. To lock him up. You may just
- 25:24Speaker 2: realize how they keep him in power. You lock up
- 25:27Speaker 2: your political opponent.
- 25:30Speaker 1: He's got more trials coming up.
- 25:36Speaker 2: High for that, Cook, there's time for that. You have
- 25:45Speaker 2: the in theory president of the United States of America. Okay,
- 25:49Speaker 2: in theory he's the president. I don't actually think he is.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Somebody else is round the country. That's obvious. But you
- 25:58Speaker 2: have a president who is now saying I'm desperate. I
- 26:03Speaker 2: am so desperate that maybe we lock him up. We
- 26:09Speaker 2: lock him up. And Joe Biden's communications director said President
- 26:14Speaker 2: Biden didn't have the best night on the debate stage, right,
- 26:17Speaker 2: So you admit that, but then you go back to, oh,
- 26:21Speaker 2: it's a cold listen to this from the Biden campaign
- 26:23Speaker 2: communication director, and last.
- 26:25Speaker 5: Night than he was this morning.
- 26:27Speaker 4: Can you just explain what happened and why he performed
- 26:30Speaker 4: like that?
- 26:31Speaker 1: I think the President said it himself today.
- 26:33Speaker 7: You know, he didn't have the best night on the
- 26:35Speaker 7: debate stage, but we'd rather have one bad night than
- 26:37Speaker 7: a candidate with a bad vision. Verie wants to take
- 26:39Speaker 7: the country. And again, I think that's what the American
- 26:41Speaker 7: people saw in Donald Trump last night. Certainly what they're
- 26:44Speaker 7: going to see with him as he returns to a
- 26:45Speaker 7: MAGA rally in Virginia today, They're going to see exactly
- 26:48Speaker 7: why they fired him in the first places, as he
- 26:52Speaker 7: continues to be more and more in the linline moving forward.
- 26:56Speaker 2: I listened to that, and I listened to the White
- 26:58Speaker 2: House pressiager Jean Pierre, and then I look at it
- 27:01Speaker 2: late in the day tweet. Now, this wasn't early on
- 27:04Speaker 2: I want to be clear about this. Okay, This wasn't
- 27:06Speaker 2: like right after the debates. This wasn't early in the morning.
- 27:09Speaker 2: This was like mid afternoon, one thirty, two thirty Eastern.
- 27:13Speaker 2: I think it was Barack Obama finally came to the
- 27:17Speaker 2: aid of Joe Biden, and I want you to listen
- 27:20Speaker 2: carefully to what he tweeted. He didn't come out on TV,
- 27:23Speaker 2: he didn't do an interview, He just put out a
- 27:26Speaker 2: tweet He's got twenty four million views as I'm reading
- 27:29Speaker 2: this to you, and this is what it says. Bad
- 27:32Speaker 2: debate nights happen. Trust me, I know. But this election
- 27:37Speaker 2: is still a choice between someone who has fought for
- 27:40Speaker 2: ordinary folks his entire life and someone who only cares
- 27:44Speaker 2: about himself, between someone who tells the truth, who knows
- 27:49Speaker 2: right from wrong and will give it to the American
- 27:52Speaker 2: people straight, and someone who lies through his teeth for
- 27:56Speaker 2: his own benefit. Last night didn't change that, and it's
- 28:02Speaker 2: why so much as at stake in November. And then
- 28:05Speaker 2: he puts a link to Joebiden dot com to give
- 28:09Speaker 2: now the comments below that were actually very interesting. One
- 28:14Speaker 2: of them said, shame on all of you for putting
- 28:17Speaker 2: our country in this vulnerable position without a leader. That
- 28:22Speaker 2: comment was very much what I would have written. There
- 28:25Speaker 2: was another one that said, the things that you'll say
- 28:27Speaker 2: for the for that fourth term, referring to obviously Barack
- 28:32Speaker 2: Obama really running this White House and all of his
- 28:35Speaker 2: top people that were in his in his presidency are
- 28:38Speaker 2: the ones they're in the highest positions in and around
- 28:42Speaker 2: this White House. I think there's some truth to that, right,
- 28:45Speaker 2: The things you'll say for that fourth term. Another one said,
- 28:49Speaker 2: Joe's a lying old man. He's done yet. Barack Obama
- 28:54Speaker 2: says everything's fine, and you know what, he probably does
- 28:58Speaker 2: believe what he's saying. He probably does believe that we
- 29:02Speaker 2: just got to get him across the finish line because
- 29:04Speaker 2: then I get what I need, I get my fourth term,
- 29:10Speaker 2: and maybe that is exactly who's running this country right now.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Make sure you share this with your family and friends
- 29:17Speaker 2: on social media wherever you are in social media. Run
- 29:21Speaker 2: it's a five star review, and I will see you
- 29:23Speaker 2: back here tomorrow.
