- speaker-1: Hello folks. And welcome to the political matrix news. We are today talking. We have the meet the Canada session here today, and we are speaking to Rod Joseph who's running for Congress and district 20 and the Republican party in South Florida and Broward County. And that is the county that the district that just got redrawn a little bit here by the governor to say in this. And so, right. Why are you running for office right now? I what got you compelled here to, to want to run for this race in the seat? What's driving you? speaker-0: Good morning. What if office is always the inspiration for me? And also after serving two decades in the military coming back and realize that the problem still stands, still the same. And I don't think the better way to solve something, that's what I learned in the military, is do it yourself or inspire somebody else to do it. I think it's the time, coach, where the economy's bad. the whole polarization of black and white, all those things, they shock to me because as a society, we can do better than that. The divisive flame that's growing across the nation and it's spread out of the world make us weaker. And I think that's the reason why I come in. I wanna be a bridge builder where I can bridge the gap. speaker-1: So tell us a little bit about who Rod is. mean, you know, for those who haven't been involved in the campaign or following the campaign, tell us who you are and what brought you to this point. speaker-0: I'm young immigrant from Haiti. I grew up here in Florida. And as a young, I joined the military and I was a paralegal for 15 years out of my 20 years career. do the commission via the ROTC program where I have a master's in international relations and diplomacy. I have also another master's in military history. After that, I go to Coneston University of Florida. I obtained a PhD. and international relations and diplomacy. I am an entrepreneur. I'm a small business owner. You can say I'm an activist because I'm always educating my community, always telling about voting rights, about engagement in politics, social issues, you name it. So basically that's in Glint. I am also currently the only Purple Heart recipient running for Congress across the United States. So that's something for the veteran. I know the pain, I know the suffering, and I know the experience of them. So this is the reason why that shaped me to make me the candidate I am today. Yes, sir. Exactly. speaker-1: And who are getting involved because a lot of them, you know, whenever they run for office, they look at a different mentality. They look at it like it's still like a military type of mentality. Whenever in reality, when you're running for campaigns, like you're doing now is it's really the mentality of, you're making the community better and you're enhancing the community. So, and so a lot of veterans. still look at like, you know, we know this, we know that, and they're not open to discussion or open to the concerns of the people because they think they have all the answers already. But I think I've been following your campaign. seems like you're actually very open to people discussing, you know, rational situations and rational solutions. And I think that's really inviting in your campaign and it's something that, you know, people are missing. Yes. speaker-0: The point is selfless service. Most people come to politics for profit instead of solving the problems. I came to politics to help solve the problem instead of profiting because what it makes a man to own the world and then you die without a legacy. Because life is about continuing giving and serving. What I see, I want to bring government back to the people. instead of people going back to government because if you go back to people go to government, you will never compete with the corporations, with the billionaires class, with the New Orleans gosh class. But when you bring government to the people, everybody got a fair share. And this is what I'm trying to break the myth of the perception. You can get access to your representative and then politicians are public servants, not superstars. So you need to be in your neighborhood, you need to be in your constituency to know what their problem is. So in the last 50 years, corporations laid America, they influenced politics in America. I want to start the train to bring back the small guys, give them the access to their congressmen that would present them instead of the corporations. speaker-1: Right now our company, also have a company outside of this podcast here called the political matrix. And the listener group is all part of the power box productions. And we did a poll on your race and we haven't even told you about it yet. And it was like a month or so ago and you're at 30 points and you're in the next person behind you was Gary and he is at 19 points. And so, and there are quite a few undecided, but I mean that, that was before the redistricting. So with other redistricting in place of the, of the district, do we have that? running more data at all since then. But do you think that's going to help or enhance your your likelihood for the Republican primary? speaker-0: Literally, I put the work. I've been on the ground since 2024. Since November I've been on the ground. have over 5,000 volunteers. I would out $35,000. And my campaign, every week last week, we canvassed $15,000 in a week. We have over 1,200 people rotate in a week. We have an average of 80 volunteers per shift. But I would never see that before. where I would never see something like that this long. So that's what appealing because we go to the people. I'm not doing Democrats, Republicans. I am going to Americans. So any voters in my district and my constituency, I'm knocking your doors. And I'm talking to you. I'm engaging you. I've been meet up with the Muslim community, the Jewish community, the Spanish community, the Asian community. Every single ethnicity in my district know who I am. because they saw my face and I'm present. speaker-1: That's great. And so, mean, what's the number one issue that you're taking to the streets that you want to fulfill whenever you become a congressman? mean, what's the number one driving issue? speaker-0: The driving issue for my district, principally and across the United States, fighting homelessness because Congress tried to avoid the issue of homelessness because it's linked to the big farmer. Because if you put restraint on the big farmer that's farming and hunting people, creating little shithole labs, recovery labs, that's hunting people, move them from one city to another. to relapse for them to make millions of billions of, we can solve the problem. Because the moment we stop that problem, we're homeless now, which is easy to do, if we're willing to do it. I want to make that my side. And I want to make sure we treat drugs issue as a medical issue, not a criminal offense. speaker-1: Very good. Okay, so as far as the campaign goes, mean, how's the people can, how can they find out about your campaign? mean, is there a website they can go to? speaker-0: They can go to worldfarkongress.com. can just put the Google search just put WorldFark Congress. And then they can find me. We have a phone number that's 754-303-3625. And they can call if they want to volunteer, they want to donate, if they want to do anything to the campaign, they can call that number. speaker-1: Okay. Real quick with Sheila McCormick stepping down and wanting to rerun again. And so the reasons why she's saying she wants to rerun is because she said that that's historically black district and that she needs to represent the black community. I'm assuming, does she not realize that everybody in this race is black? speaker-0: Right. Right this woman what she facing have nothing to do with father of escape Always are ethnicity We meanality he was purposely the state the government Deferred in the government for a money that was there for a different purpose was to have a friend for $1,000 to vote for her speaker-1: Exactly. speaker-0: as promised. So because of that, now she tried to be a victim, which is that we saw that they tried to make the West card and the victim narrative, which is good. Now we're going to let the voters decide if this is the voters of this district that's corrupt or have then facilitated corruption to grow in the last 40 years in the district that never know any better. Before they were just scripting, They call the district the poorest district in America. While that district have Belgrade attached to it. Belgrade benefits over $850 million a year from the federal government for agriculture. A little group of people manage $850 million. So it's not decimating down to the population. Tell me what other district in the country They have 850 million dollars that's poor. So the district was poorly managed, but the district is not poor. speaker-1: That's a lot to learn. mean, that's a lot. mean, a lot of people don't even know anything about that. And so thank you so much for letting us know all that information. Real quick, so somebody can donate to your campaign. What's the best way for them to donate? To go to your website or to give you a call or? speaker-0: Just go to their website or the Zelle. The phone number I give 754-303-3625 is the Zelle. I'll link to the campaign. It's their phone campaign. They can donate to that. They can go to WinWred. If they're Republicans, donate. Or they go straight to the campaign. There's a donation button right there. speaker-1: Awesome. Well, thanks a lot, Rob, for joining me today here and definitely look forward to talking to more on the campaign trail and good luck out there. speaker-0: Thank you so much. Thank you, Greg. Looking forward anytime. I will make time for you. Please don't be hesitate to contact, to reach me at any time. I don't know if I can send you my number and my information. speaker-1: think we have, I think you've already given it for the campaign already and so we already have the information and me and several other people will definitely be trying to reach out to you. speaker-0: Thank you so much. Thank you so much.
