- 1:44Speaker 7: to turn mouth.

- 1:48Speaker 6: Up looking me come come out?
- 1:59Speaker 5: You think that? Uh huh, I sure will.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Good morning everybody.
- 2:04Speaker 5: You'll listen to the voice.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Come on dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey
- 2:10Speaker 4: h got a radio show.
- 2:12Speaker 5: Yep. Yeah.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Sometimes all I can say, help, man, how far I've
- 2:20Speaker 4: come is really unbelievable. But you know I finally figured
- 2:23Speaker 4: it out.
- 2:24Speaker 6: Man.
- 2:25Speaker 4: God allowed me to have the life I've had so
- 2:32Speaker 4: that I can become experienced at so many different things.
- 2:36Speaker 4: And in this experience, when I'm talking and sharing with people,
- 2:41Speaker 4: I will be able to relate to a lot of
- 2:43Speaker 4: different circumstances, not exact, but just the circumstances.
- 2:46Speaker 6: You know.
- 2:47Speaker 4: You know, if a person comes to me and they say, man,
- 2:50Speaker 4: I've been down and out, Okay, well I know what
- 2:52Speaker 4: that is. Man, I didn't I didn't have any direction. Okay,
- 2:56Speaker 4: got that been there? Man At one point in time, Man,
- 2:59Speaker 4: I just kept piering mistake on top of mistakes. Okay,
- 3:06Speaker 4: So you know, I think what I'm trying to say
- 3:09Speaker 4: to everybody is when you're going through life and life
- 3:13Speaker 4: is dealing the cards that it deals, I want you
- 3:17Speaker 4: to understand that life deals everybody these cards. The disappointment card,
- 3:23Speaker 4: the setback card, the failure card, the mishap card, the
- 3:30Speaker 4: unexpected misery card. Everybody gonna get, the grief card, everybody
- 3:36Speaker 4: gonna get, the rash of bad decision card, everybody gonna
- 3:40Speaker 4: get them. Understand that going in that everybody is gonna
- 3:46Speaker 4: get these cards is how you play them, though, you know,
- 3:54Speaker 4: from time to time, one more time, it's how you
- 3:56Speaker 4: play them.
- 3:58Speaker 5: Uh, you know.
- 3:58Speaker 4: From time to time when I'm watching TV, I love
- 4:01Speaker 4: to watch the World Series of Poker. I like watching
- 4:04Speaker 4: poker tournaments on TV because it's really weird. What's happened
- 4:10Speaker 4: to sport to a poker they're actually trying to call
- 4:14Speaker 4: it a sport, you know, and as to everyday guide
- 4:17Speaker 4: that doesn't have to be athletically inclined to anything. Who
- 4:21Speaker 4: has a shot of winning a title if they play
- 4:25Speaker 4: their cards right. The best poker players in the world
- 4:30Speaker 4: don't have the best hands, They just make the best plays.
- 4:36Speaker 4: I've seen guys win a hand with nine to two
- 4:39Speaker 4: in they hand that's nothing, and win the hand because
- 4:43Speaker 4: they knew the bluff, they knew the odds, they calculated risks,
- 4:49Speaker 4: they made the stakes higher than the other person was
- 4:52Speaker 4: willing to pay. They gave off the illusion that they
- 4:56Speaker 4: had something with in actuality, they had nothing. So what
- 5:01Speaker 4: I enjoy about poker and watching it is that these people,
- 5:06Speaker 4: these people here, play the hand they dealt and it
- 5:11Speaker 4: ain't always a good hand. But it ain't whether your
- 5:14Speaker 4: hand is good, And it ain't whether you're gonna get
- 5:17Speaker 4: dealt bad cards or not, because you gonna get dealt
- 5:19Speaker 4: some bad cars. Everybody ain't finna get two bullets in
- 5:22Speaker 4: their hand. You ain't finna get two aces when you
- 5:23Speaker 4: get dealt.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Uh.
- 5:25Speaker 4: You know, when you play a draw poker, some of
- 5:27Speaker 4: your cards gonna be nothing, But you gotta turn that
- 5:30Speaker 4: nothing into something. So when you get dealt these cards
- 5:33Speaker 4: in life, it ain't the fact that you getting to
- 5:36Speaker 4: keep getting them dealt. I was talking with a young
- 5:37Speaker 4: person yesterday and we were talking, and we keep having
- 5:41Speaker 4: the same conversation over and over and over, and they
- 5:44Speaker 4: couldnot understand why they were not moving forward. But I said,
- 5:48Speaker 4: you don't understand. Every time we talk, we have the
- 5:51Speaker 4: exact same conversation. It is simply because you keep getting
- 5:56Speaker 4: your cards and you playing them the same way. See,
- 6:01Speaker 4: until you make a conscious of the conscious decision to
- 6:05Speaker 4: do something different, the results will continue to be the same.
- 6:11Speaker 4: See here's here's here's the way this works. When you're
- 6:16Speaker 4: dealt to disappointments in life. It's how you handle the
- 6:20Speaker 4: disappointments that determine their outcome and who you are. Because
- 6:24Speaker 4: everybody gonna be disappointment, Everybody gonna lose a loved one,
- 6:27Speaker 4: everybody gonna make a bad decision, everybody gonna end wake
- 6:30Speaker 4: up one morning and have done something they regretted. Everybody
- 6:34Speaker 4: gonna get caught at the wrong time. Every everybody gonna
- 6:38Speaker 4: make a mistake.
- 6:39Speaker 5: It ain't just you.
- 6:40Speaker 4: That's how you play your cards when they get dealt
- 6:43Speaker 4: to you. That determine who you are. Now, how do
- 6:46Speaker 4: I play my cards better? First of all, it's a mindset.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Quit looking at everything as just the end when it
- 6:53Speaker 4: happens to you, oh lord, woe is me? No, everybody
- 6:58Speaker 4: got your circumstance answers somewhere. It ain't old woe as me.
- 7:03Speaker 4: It's hold on, man, Okay, let me play this out
- 7:06Speaker 4: to see how God done connected this to something else.
- 7:09Speaker 5: See.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Soon as a person have a setback, what's the first
- 7:11Speaker 4: thing A lot of people do, They go straight negative.
- 7:13Speaker 4: I can't seem to get a break, I can't seem
- 7:16Speaker 4: to move forward. Hold on, man, do you realize this
- 7:18Speaker 4: could be connected to something? See you got to understand, man,
- 7:23Speaker 4: that this thing is all connected. That you not having
- 7:25Speaker 4: these mishaps and these spills and accidents and falls for
- 7:29Speaker 4: no reason. It's so you can become experienced at them.
- 7:33Speaker 4: So when he takes you to the next level, when
- 7:35Speaker 4: it happens again, you have no how and how to
- 7:37Speaker 4: handle it. If you keep throwing yourself off the cliff
- 7:41Speaker 4: every time something happened, you just gonna be a cliff diver. Man,
- 7:45Speaker 4: Stop tripping yourself out. I was talking to this young person,
- 7:49Speaker 4: I kept saying, and you know what, they tried to
- 7:50Speaker 4: tell me. I'm trying to stay positive. But the people
- 7:54Speaker 4: around here they just killing that. Oh I see. So
- 7:58Speaker 4: when you learn something and you you know something, you
- 8:01Speaker 4: don't take ownership of it. You allow other people to
- 8:05Speaker 4: come into what you know and believe and shake it
- 8:08Speaker 4: loose from you. I don't care who you are. You
- 8:10Speaker 4: not doing me like that. Here's a deal. I have
- 8:13Speaker 4: a gift that was given to me from God. That
- 8:15Speaker 4: is the gift of comedy. That's what I've done. I've
- 8:17Speaker 4: made the bulk of my living on that skill set.
- 8:21Speaker 5: Right there.
- 8:22Speaker 4: There are comedians who are supposedly friends of mine, who
- 8:25Speaker 4: I've worked with, who get around in huddles with one
- 8:28Speaker 4: another and they say, man, Steve really ain't funny. I
- 8:31Speaker 4: don't see what they be laughing at. He ain't funny
- 8:33Speaker 4: to me. He wasn't the funniest king to me. Excuse me,
- 8:38Speaker 4: you're irrelevant in this conversation because irregardless as to how
- 8:42Speaker 4: you feel about me, there are people think that I'm
- 8:45Speaker 4: knocked down kill over funny. But more importantly, I own
- 8:49Speaker 4: the gift that God gave to me. I take ownership
- 8:53Speaker 4: of his blessing. Cause you don't think it's so. You
- 8:56Speaker 4: ain't taking that from me. Stop letting people steal your joy,
- 9:00Speaker 4: Stop letting people take what you're supposed to know. Look,
- 9:04Speaker 4: I'm a kind person at heart. Man, you ain't nothing.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Now you sit in here going man, I guess I ain't.
- 9:11Speaker 1: What's your tripping for?
- 9:12Speaker 4: You are a kind person, own that take ownership of it.
- 9:18Speaker 4: Stop letting things God has given you be taken away
- 9:22Speaker 4: from others. The devil is a cold player, and he
- 9:25Speaker 4: got cold players working for him, just shaking, just taking
- 9:28Speaker 4: stuff from you. You know, I'm a hard worker. I
- 9:31Speaker 4: really am intelligent. You stupid man. I thought I was
- 9:35Speaker 4: a hard worker.
- 9:36Speaker 6: Man.
- 9:36Speaker 4: They came in here and said I was stupid.
- 9:38Speaker 6: Man.
- 9:38Speaker 4: I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
- 9:40Speaker 5: What excuse me?
- 9:42Speaker 4: You're a very bright person. Hey, y'all, take ownership. When
- 9:46Speaker 4: God gives you something, blesses you with a gift, a talent,
- 9:48Speaker 4: a skill set, a mindset.
- 9:51Speaker 6: Own it.
- 9:52Speaker 4: Don't let people come in here and take it from you. Man, Okay,
- 9:55Speaker 4: I probably shouldn't have went that.
- 9:57Speaker 7: You're listening morning show.

- 14:34Speaker 5: Okay, how long you been at the church, man.
- 14:37Speaker 9: I've probably been at the church for like five years now, about.
- 14:40Speaker 5: Five years okay, okay, listen. My name Doug Man, Doug Newsom,
- 14:44Speaker 5: and I haven't I haven't joined the church yet, but
- 14:47Speaker 5: I've been coming because my cousin, you know, my uh,
- 14:50Speaker 5: my cousin them go there, and they've been going there
- 14:52Speaker 5: for quite a bit. My cousin I got. I got
- 14:55Speaker 5: one cousin that's in the choir, LaTrece. You know who
- 14:58Speaker 5: Latrese is, right.
- 15:00Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I know a tree.
- 15:02Speaker 9: You ain't a member of the church yet, No.
- 15:03Speaker 1: No, I'm not a member of the church yet. But
- 15:05Speaker 1: you know, I've been in there. You know, I'm liking
- 15:08Speaker 1: the service and everything.
- 15:09Speaker 5: So you know, it's just a matter of time, you know,
- 15:10Speaker 5: uh uh, when i feel like I'm ready to actually join.
- 15:14Speaker 5: But I ain't gonna lie.
- 15:16Speaker 6: Man.
- 15:16Speaker 5: I'm calling you because I got a bit of an
- 15:18Speaker 5: issue about, uh about something I've been noticing for the
- 15:21Speaker 5: last three weeks that's been going on in the church,
- 15:24Speaker 5: and I wanted to uh, you know, I had to
- 15:26Speaker 5: ask around who was over the media. Uh, ministry, Yeah,
- 15:30Speaker 5: that's that's you. Okay. So uh, man, I don't know
- 15:35Speaker 5: what's happening. Uh, And I ain't gonna lie. I gotta
- 15:37Speaker 5: be real with you. It pissed me off. But uh
- 15:40Speaker 5: for the last three weeks, you know, Uh, when my
- 15:43Speaker 5: cousin get ready to sing. You know, I don't know
- 15:46Speaker 5: why when she get up to sing that the mic
- 15:49Speaker 5: just go out, you know what I mean, The mic
- 15:51Speaker 5: just go completely out when she getting ready to sing.
- 15:53Speaker 5: And I'm like, what, this don't make no sense.
- 15:56Speaker 7: You know.
- 15:56Speaker 9: So man, it's not like I'm timing it.
- 15:59Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 16:00Speaker 9: I mean, we don't have the best equipment at the church.
- 16:02Speaker 9: You know, we just got to work for what we got.
- 16:05Speaker 6: I mean, it's not like.
- 16:06Speaker 9: I'm sitting there trying to single out your cousin. Sometimes
- 16:09Speaker 9: the MIC's get a glitch, man, But see.
- 16:10Speaker 5: But see that. But see that's my problem though. The
- 16:12Speaker 5: problem I'm having is the glitch happening every single time
- 16:16Speaker 5: my cousin get the mic. You know, that's the problem
- 16:19Speaker 5: I'm having, Like Okay, so every time Latrice get up
- 16:21Speaker 5: there the same then you know, the mic go out.
- 16:23Speaker 5: I didn came three weeks straight. I ain't hear my
- 16:25Speaker 5: cousins saying nothing. Yes, So I'm calling you brouh on
- 16:29Speaker 5: you know, on some real man the man stuff, Just
- 16:31Speaker 5: letting you know, bruh, I'm coming to church again this Sunday.
- 16:35Speaker 5: I'm coming. If Latrice might go out again, somebody gonna
- 16:40Speaker 5: get the.
- 16:41Speaker 9: You're gonna bring that inergy your church. I told you, man,
- 16:43Speaker 9: this is just the glitch. Ain't nothing I could do
- 16:45Speaker 9: about it.
- 16:46Speaker 5: Okay. What I'm saying though, Bro, what I'm saying is
- 16:48Speaker 5: just right here though, And I'm being as real as
- 16:50Speaker 5: I can. Which if if Latrice might go out on Sunday,
- 16:55Speaker 5: immediately after that service is over, with somebody getting there.
- 17:00Speaker 9: I don't know why you calling threatening a member of
- 17:02Speaker 9: the church.
- 17:02Speaker 6: Man. Like I said, I ain't got nothing to do
- 17:04Speaker 6: with it.
- 17:05Speaker 9: I try to keep everything running cool, you know, I
- 17:07Speaker 9: try to keep it running smooth. I can't tell you
- 17:10Speaker 9: when the glitch is gonna happen. It's electronics, man, it's
- 17:12Speaker 9: holy quit. I'd love for you to be a member
- 17:15Speaker 9: of the church with us, but I can't. I mean,
- 17:17Speaker 9: why are you calling up here threatening me?
- 17:18Speaker 5: Hey, brou because because I came up there three times,
- 17:22Speaker 5: three times I came up there to see my cousin saying.
- 17:25Speaker 1: You know, my cousin is saying. Since we was kid,
- 17:27Speaker 1: we all love to hear her saying. We love her voice,
- 17:30Speaker 1: you know we you know, we grew up listening to
- 17:32Speaker 1: Latree saying.
- 17:33Speaker 5: So what I'm saying, I'm gonna say this here, though
- 17:35Speaker 5: I have said it twice already, I'm coming up there
- 17:38Speaker 5: Sunday if latrees might go out.
- 17:41Speaker 9: Bro let me just cut you off real quick. Ain't
- 17:43Speaker 9: no way that you're gonna come up here and whoop
- 17:46Speaker 9: nobody's man. That just ain't gonna happen. Like I told you,
- 17:49Speaker 9: it's a glitch. But you ain't coming up to the
- 17:50Speaker 9: church talking all this and then't gonna whoop somebody's ass.
- 17:54Speaker 5: Okay, So I see where we are now. So so
- 17:56Speaker 5: let me just going on directed this way. So let
- 17:58Speaker 5: me say this, From Dug to Andre, from me to you,
- 18:03Speaker 5: I'm letting you know right now, come Sunday, if the
- 18:06Speaker 5: trees might go out, not know, somebody, I'm whooping, yo, Drake,
- 18:12Speaker 5: I'm whooping yo, if the damn might go.
- 18:15Speaker 9: Okay, first off, I ain't nobody whooping my especially no
- 18:19Speaker 9: punk dude named Doug. He ain't gonna come to the church.
- 18:22Speaker 9: What my that's gonna happen?
- 18:24Speaker 5: Okay? What what what makes you think you can't get
- 18:26Speaker 5: your ass whoop?
- 18:27Speaker 9: And what makes me you over here threatening somebody over
- 18:29Speaker 9: here with the media. You want to come test these

- 29:48Speaker 8: police are currently investigating, hoping to find some video and
- 29:52Speaker 8: they want to speak with neighbors as well. It's unclear
- 29:55Speaker 8: how the burglars exactly got in and removed the safe,
- 29:58Speaker 8: so they're still investing.
- 30:00Speaker 5: That's somebody doesn't know, y'all. They know exactly where the

- 34:37Speaker 5: and I'm trying. Nate. It's everything. Okay, let's let's step up.
- 34:45Speaker 5: Out and talk for a minute.
- 34:49Speaker 4: Tell me draws.
- 34:51Speaker 5: You can you give me my pants?
- 34:57Speaker 8: Every famous person needs a Nate got a lot of
- 35:01Speaker 8: them messed down, Steve got all of that.
- 35:10Speaker 7: Yes, that's what happened.
- 35:12Speaker 8: So it came out that she hit herself in the face,
- 35:14Speaker 8: because that's not how the story was released at first. Yeah,
- 35:18Speaker 8: we thought the security slapped her, you know, but that's
- 35:20Speaker 8: that's not what.
- 35:21Speaker 5: Could have been. Mean, that's what we see it, that
- 35:23Speaker 5: woman hit herself.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Well, they had to look at the video and everything.
- 35:31Speaker 5: Yeah, you know what I like about it? What you
- 35:34Speaker 5: say security? Whose name they did not give out? And
- 35:38Speaker 5: I love it?
- 35:40Speaker 6: Give us.
- 35:42Speaker 1: Too, that's probably yes, Yeah, get back Brittany.
- 35:48Speaker 8: All right, Coming up in twenty minutes after the hour,
- 35:51Speaker 8: we'll talk about the Supreme Court's decision to ban affirmative
- 35:55Speaker 8: action and college admissions. Right after this.
- 35:58Speaker 7: You're listening Steve Morning Show.
- 36:01Speaker 8: Now, this story right here is according to the Grio,
- 36:03Speaker 8: Harvard and University of North Carolina universities were sued by
- 36:08Speaker 8: a group claiming affirmative action policies benefiting black, Hispanic, and
- 36:12Speaker 8: Native American students discriminated against white and Asian American students.
- 36:17Speaker 8: Harvard and UNC said correctly that such programs promote diversity,
- 36:23Speaker 8: promote diversity that enhances the education of all students. Now,
- 36:27Speaker 8: as we know, recently, the Supreme Court ruled on this
- 36:30Speaker 8: case and voted at six to three saying that race
- 36:33Speaker 8: conscious admissions are unconstitutional. Judge Clarence Thomas. Judge Clarence Thomas
- 36:39Speaker 8: said in that famous nineteen eighty three speech that he
- 36:42Speaker 8: benefited from affirmative action. He received a scholarship set aside
- 36:47Speaker 8: for racial minorities to attend holy Cross College, and was
- 36:50Speaker 8: admitted to Yale Law School back in nineteen seventy one
- 36:53Speaker 8: and given generous financial aid under an affirmative action program. Nevertheless, Thomas,
- 37:01Speaker 8: Judge Clarence Thomas voted.
- 37:02Speaker 5: To and don't say Thomas bad.
- 37:08Speaker 8: Don't get him no government name, oh government name. Justice
- 37:14Speaker 8: Clarence Thomas voted to strike down race conscious affirmative action
- 37:18Speaker 8: after he benefited from it. Now, Justice Katanji Brown Jackson
- 37:22Speaker 8: voted to uphold race conscious primitive action at U n C.
- 37:25Speaker 8: But recuse yourself from the Harvard case because she served
- 37:29Speaker 8: on a university board.
- 37:31Speaker 5: So the very thing that got Clarence there, he shoots
- 37:34Speaker 5: it down.
- 37:35Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm from Huh. How is
- 37:41Speaker 8: it that we're only equal when it comes to affirmative
- 37:44Speaker 8: action and stuff like that.
- 37:45Speaker 7: You know what I'm saying.
- 37:46Speaker 8: It's like now, now it's an even playing field. Yeah,
- 37:52Speaker 8: all right, when it comes to affirmative action.
- 37:55Speaker 1: What is the deal that is so killable?
- 37:59Speaker 5: They starting to be a joke to me. It's like, well,
- 38:02Speaker 5: that's why we got to vote.
- 38:04Speaker 3: When we begged everybody to vote and they didn't think
- 38:06Speaker 3: it was important to vote. So when you voted and
- 38:09Speaker 3: you vote for a president, guess what they get to do?
- 38:12Speaker 3: A point Supreme Court, the playing court. Justice City had
- 38:15Speaker 3: his works and it's a lifetime position.
- 38:19Speaker 5: That's what that's That's the part I don't like, Shirley,
- 38:21Speaker 5: is that it's a lifetime position. That's the part I
- 38:23Speaker 5: think I don't like.
- 38:24Speaker 1: Yeah, you think you limit I like that. Yeah.
- 38:30Speaker 5: We got rid of cl a long time ago.
- 38:34Speaker 7: Take your wife with you, you know that.
- 38:38Speaker 6: Black.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Come on, people out here buying your my houses, Clarence. Okay,
- 38:46Speaker 1: come on while you out here vacationing with everybody. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 38:52Speaker 1: come on, bring it all up. They need a committee
- 38:55Speaker 1: to investigate them too, So.
- 38:59Speaker 7: We'll keep our eyes that you know. Just keep you
- 39:01Speaker 7: informed as we always do.
- 39:03Speaker 8: Coming up at thirty four minutes after the hour, parents
- 39:06Speaker 8: beat sons behind, who reportedly spent forty five thousand dollars
- 39:11Speaker 8: on video games.
- 39:12Speaker 7: We'll get into it oooo.
- 39:14Speaker 5: Right after this.
- 39:18Speaker 7: You're listening hard Morning Show.
- 39:22Speaker 8: A video that has gone viral on various social media
- 39:25Speaker 8: platform shows two Asian parents beating, yes, I said, beating
- 39:30Speaker 8: their sixteen year old son in a gaming center while
- 39:33Speaker 8: he plays video games. He was playing the games, he
- 39:36Speaker 8: was getting a beat down from his parents. The young
- 39:39Speaker 8: man is blamed for spending his family's entire savings on games,
- 39:44Speaker 8: totaling over forty five thousand dollars, and that's according to
- 39:47Speaker 8: the reports. The parents apparently chose a public space to
- 39:50Speaker 8: punish him and beat his behind. The boy cried out,
- 39:53Speaker 8: but his dad was having none of it and continued
- 39:56Speaker 8: beaten his butt, as he should have more.
- 40:00Speaker 5: Than five thousand, forty. I think we make it fifty.
- 40:05Speaker 5: I think I think we make it fifty five thousand,
- 40:07Speaker 5: because we need to tack that funeral loan to the end.
- 40:10Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying.
- 40:11Speaker 7: We got Yeah, they let him live. They let him live,
- 40:15Speaker 7: So have you guys.
- 40:16Speaker 8: Ever been disciplined, you know when you were growing up
- 40:18Speaker 8: in a public space?
- 40:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, what you mean?
- 40:24Speaker 6: Sure? Yeah?
- 40:25Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, oh yes, I didnet fell out. I fell

- 41:02Speaker 8: In the Lord's House.
- 41:03Speaker 5: What happened because I was going out the pastor was preaching,
- 41:07Speaker 5: and I knew all the words to his sermon because
- 41:09Speaker 5: I told my mama he keep preaching the same sermon.
- 41:12Speaker 5: But I was I was nine, So now I'm saying

- 53:05Speaker 5: We got it for you here. It is Strawberry letta.
- 53:08Speaker 8: Thank you nephew subject It cannot be that serious. Here's
- 53:14Speaker 8: Steven Shirley. My boyfriend and I have been together three
- 53:17Speaker 8: years and he finally moved in with me. I've been
- 53:20Speaker 8: asking him to live with me for a while because
- 53:23Speaker 8: he was paying my rent and his rent. I want
- 53:25Speaker 8: him to be able to afford an engagement ring, because
- 53:28Speaker 8: that's the next step for us. My rent is cheaper
- 53:31Speaker 8: and my apartment is a lot bigger than his, so
- 53:34Speaker 8: he was happy to be saving money.
- 53:36Speaker 7: I overheard him.
- 53:37Speaker 8: Saying it on the phone when he got off, and
- 53:40Speaker 8: I told him I'm happy he's saving money too. He
- 53:43Speaker 8: got irritated and said he hates it. When I listened
- 53:45Speaker 8: to his conversations, he was sitting next to me, so
- 53:48Speaker 8: it wasn't like I'm a creeper snooping on him. That
- 53:51Speaker 8: set off a whole conversation about respecting his privacy now
- 53:55Speaker 8: that he lives in my apartment. I let him have
- 53:57Speaker 8: that argument and agreed that I wouldn't invade his privacy anymore.
- 54:01Speaker 8: A few days after the phone incident, he came home
- 54:04Speaker 8: with a garment bag and hung it up in the
- 54:06Speaker 8: shower rod, just in the guest bathroom. He didn't say anything,
- 54:10Speaker 8: and I didn't ask any questions. When he was asleep,
- 54:13Speaker 8: I quietly unzipped the bag to see what was inside.
- 54:16Speaker 8: It was a new suit, and I remembered that he
- 54:18Speaker 8: had gotten a tailored He woke up and came into
- 54:21Speaker 8: the kitchen with a crazy look on his face. He
- 54:24Speaker 8: said he purposely put a piece of clear tape on
- 54:27Speaker 8: the zipper to see if I was going to snoop,
- 54:29Speaker 8: and the tape was broken. I was like, dude, it
- 54:32Speaker 8: cannot be that serious. He told me he is uncomfortable
- 54:36Speaker 8: living with me, and he'll pack his things and move
- 54:39Speaker 8: out if I don't give him space. Unless there's more
- 54:42Speaker 8: stuff that I have done and he hasn't told me.
- 54:44Speaker 8: I'm only focused on those two minor incidents. Is he
- 54:48Speaker 8: looking for any excuse to move out and break up? Well,
- 54:51Speaker 8: you know what they say, you never really know a
- 54:53Speaker 8: person until you live with them. I think he's a
- 54:57Speaker 8: bit paranoid.
- 54:57Speaker 9: I do.
- 54:58Speaker 8: I think this is kind of crazy. I think he
- 55:01Speaker 8: has some trust issues. If he didn't want you to
- 55:04Speaker 8: hear what he was saying, why didn't he just politely
- 55:07Speaker 8: excuse himself. I mean, how could you help from hearing
- 55:10Speaker 8: what he was saying his convo when he was sitting
- 55:12Speaker 8: right next to you. It's not like I mean, everybody
- 55:16Speaker 8: does that. You know, everybody ear hustles a little bit,
- 55:18Speaker 8: especially if you're in that proximity. Now, he's trying to
- 55:22Speaker 8: make you out to be some kind of weirdo, some
- 55:24Speaker 8: kind of creepy snooper or something because he unzipped the
- 55:29Speaker 8: bag in the shower. Because you unzipped the bag in
- 55:31Speaker 8: the shower. I mean to that, I say, what's the
- 55:34Speaker 8: big deal? Okay, did he ask you not to bother it? No,
- 55:38Speaker 8: he brought it in there, put the tape on the
- 55:40Speaker 8: zipper to trap you, and he said that. I mean,
- 55:43Speaker 8: I believe in respecting people's privacy too, but I just
- 55:46Speaker 8: think he's a bit overboard with this. You guys need
- 55:49Speaker 8: to sit down and talk about some rules here. He
- 55:52Speaker 8: shares this apartment with you now, so you guys got
- 55:55Speaker 8: to talk. If he has a problem with everything, he
- 55:57Speaker 8: doesn't need to be there. I mean, how about him
- 56:00Speaker 8: being grateful to you for helping him save some money
- 56:03Speaker 8: so he can even buy that new suit.
- 56:05Speaker 7: I don't think it's you. I think it's him, Tommy, Oh,
- 56:08Speaker 7: I beg to dip fun.
- 56:10Speaker 6: It is her.
- 56:12Speaker 5: She in the middle of this man stuff while you
- 56:14Speaker 5: keep going and everything. It's not about the suit, okay,
- 56:17Speaker 5: it's about the fact that she is in his stuff.
- 56:19Speaker 5: Get out of my stuff. And he set it up
- 56:21Speaker 5: there way just to see what you was gonna do.
- 56:23Speaker 5: Now he's supposed to pack up and move out with you,
- 56:25Speaker 5: because this is just the beginning of a person that's
- 56:28Speaker 5: gonna be in all your stuff.
- 56:30Speaker 6: Now.
- 56:30Speaker 5: I look up you in my sock draw you and
- 56:32Speaker 5: my draws draw. Why are you in my stuff? Stay
- 56:34Speaker 5: out of my stuff?
- 56:36Speaker 1: This is mine.
- 56:37Speaker 5: So we got to have some privacy too, right, You
- 56:39Speaker 5: got to give me my space huh, I want my space.
- 56:42Speaker 5: Let me have that. That's what most men, most men
- 56:44Speaker 5: want you, let me have my space. This is this
- 56:47Speaker 5: is my little stuff, my little area. Let me have it.
- 56:49Speaker 5: You don't need to be over here, snooping in it,
- 56:51Speaker 5: all right, don't be ill hustling, don't be in my drawers.
- 56:55Speaker 7: We'll get up and move.
- 56:58Speaker 5: Stay out of my damn phone. Let me have my stuff.
- 57:03Speaker 5: Let's let's just let's start there. But this young lady
- 57:05Speaker 5: right here, we already know she listening to everything on
- 57:08Speaker 5: the phone. Now I see over here unzipping bags. Ain't
- 57:10Speaker 5: got nothing to do with that. This ain't none in
- 57:12Speaker 5: his bag for her, not that this hit suit. Now
- 57:15Speaker 5: surely over there, I got the nerve to say not
- 57:17Speaker 5: a woman that helped him get the suit, because now
- 57:20Speaker 5: he didn't move, And surely you can afford the soup
- 57:25Speaker 5: just because of her.
- 57:27Speaker 8: He's saving money. Now you got a brand new suit.
- 57:30Speaker 5: Wow, Okay, what can I Can I take my suit
- 57:32Speaker 5: out my bag when I want?
- 57:33Speaker 9: You?
- 57:33Speaker 5: Can I do that?
- 57:34Speaker 7: She didn't take it out, She just unzipped and picked in.
- 57:37Speaker 7: That's right.
- 57:37Speaker 5: And she broke that, and she broke that tape, and
- 57:40Speaker 5: he was she was in it, stay out of my stuff.
- 57:44Speaker 5: And that is the problem. Surely, surely you as ladies
- 57:46Speaker 5: got to give a man his space and say, that's
- 57:48Speaker 5: my man stuff. When he wants me to see what's
- 57:50Speaker 5: in the bag, I'll see what's in the bag. But
- 57:52Speaker 5: until the end, I'm gonna let that se see that.
- 57:54Speaker 5: See that face, that look on your face, like why
- 57:55Speaker 5: would I do that? They out of my stuff? Come on,
- 58:00Speaker 5: come on, ladies, y'all got to give me in the
- 58:02Speaker 5: space and let him have his things. And when he
- 58:05Speaker 5: wants to share this with you, he'll share it with you.
- 58:07Speaker 5: Until then, just wait. He might have wanted to surprise
- 58:09Speaker 5: and say, baby, I want you to see my suit.
- 58:11Speaker 5: I'm telling you know, we're gonna put my suit on.
- 58:13Speaker 5: Let you take it.
- 58:13Speaker 8: Look knuet in there and it is not And it
- 58:17Speaker 8: iss a trap he did, He didn't say anything, and she.
- 58:20Speaker 5: Fell into the trap. She fell into the trap. Now
- 58:23Speaker 5: what's next? You're gonna be in? What you're gonna be in? Next?
- 58:26Speaker 7: What get out?
- 58:28Speaker 5: I put a bag in the back of the trunk
- 58:30Speaker 5: of the car. Now what's happening? Two o'clock at night?
- 58:33Speaker 5: She got she going out there? See what's in the band? Yes,
- 58:36Speaker 5: you see what I'm saying. It's too much and this
- 58:38Speaker 5: is the beginning. And most men know, once you see
- 58:41Speaker 5: these little signs, it's time to get you behind that
- 58:44Speaker 5: because we know where it's headed to.
- 58:45Speaker 8: All right, hold that thought, Hold that thought. We'll have
- 58:47Speaker 8: part two of today's Strawberry Letter at twenty three minutes
- 58:51Speaker 8: after the hour. Today's subject it can't be that serious.
- 58:54Speaker 8: We'll get back into it right after this. You're listening
- 58:59Speaker 8: hard morning. All right, we're gonna recap today Strawberry letter.
- 59:03Speaker 8: The subject is it can't be that serious. A woman
- 59:06Speaker 8: wrote in her boyfriend and she and her boyfriend have
- 59:09Speaker 8: been together three years. They've been together three years. Okay,
- 59:13Speaker 8: they didn't just meet and get together. They've been together
- 59:16Speaker 8: three years. So he finally moved in with her. He
- 59:18Speaker 8: can save money up for an engagement ring because it
- 59:23Speaker 8: looks like they're headed toward marriage. He got mad at her,
- 59:27Speaker 8: he finally moved in with her. He got mad at
- 59:29Speaker 8: her because she commented on a phone call that he
- 59:34Speaker 8: was making. He was mad at her because he thought
- 59:37Speaker 8: she was ear hustling. But the fact of the matter
- 59:39Speaker 8: is he was just sitting right next to her and
- 59:41Speaker 8: she heard the conversation harmless, harmless, she thought, but he
- 59:46Speaker 8: didn't think that. A few days after the phone incident,
- 59:49Speaker 8: he came home with a garment bag. He hung it
- 59:52Speaker 8: up in the shower in the guest room. He didn't
- 59:55Speaker 8: say anything, she didn't ask any questions. When he was asleep,
- 59:58Speaker 8: she got up and just unzip to see what was
- 1:00:01Speaker 8: in the garment bag, and it was a new suit.
- 1:00:04Speaker 8: He got mad because accuse her of snooping because the
- 1:00:13Speaker 8: tape was broken, and she said, it can't be that serious.
- 1:00:16Speaker 8: He said he was uncomfortable living with her. He'll pack
- 1:00:19Speaker 8: his things and move out if she doesn't give him space.
- 1:00:22Speaker 8: And she said unless there's more stuff that she's done
- 1:00:25Speaker 8: and he hasn't told her about. She's only focused on
- 1:00:27Speaker 8: those two minor incidents, and she's asking, is he looking
- 1:00:31Speaker 8: for any excuse to move out and break up? I said,
- 1:00:34Speaker 8: it's harmless. She didn't do anything so wrong. He was
- 1:00:37Speaker 8: sitting next to her, that's how she heard the conversation. Yeah,
- 1:00:40Speaker 8: she opened the suit, but he didn't say don't open it,
- 1:00:43Speaker 8: and she opened it. Surely they've been together three years.
- 1:00:47Speaker 8: What is the big deal he doesn't trust her in
- 1:00:49Speaker 8: three years? Okay, Jr. Tommy said. Tommy said, give him space,
- 1:00:54Speaker 8: Give him space, and you say.
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: What or let me tell you something.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: I don't really know about what's happening right now, but
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: I can tell you what's gonna happen in your future.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: You're about to lose your man.
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: This was about to happen.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: Yeah, You're about to lose your man over snooping. Yeah,
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you right now, you're about to be
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: by yourself. I'm gonna tell you what's in your future.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: Clubs is in your future. You're gonna be out of
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: your club every weekend now because you ain't got no man,
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: got gonna find a number. You gonna be out here
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: every weekend. Let me tell you where else is in
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: your future. Lifetime movies is in your future because you.
- 1:01:25Speaker 5: Be by yourself. You own lifetime.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: Yeah, you gonna be by yourself. You gotta find something
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: to do. You're gonna be watching movies called I Wish
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: I never snooped, that would be watching. You're gonna be
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: watching these movies that.
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: Gonna be doing a bag in the bathroom.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: That's a movie is gonna be watching.
- 1:01:43Speaker 8: But you know, on lifetime, if somebody gets murdered.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: Kay whatever put you by yourself to seething snoopop, snoop.
- 1:01:51Speaker 8: It's that serious, guys, reales, it is Shirley. They need
- 1:01:55Speaker 8: to sit down and talk about it, you know, because
- 1:01:57Speaker 8: they've come together, they've been together three years.
- 1:02:00Speaker 7: I don't think it's that big of a deal.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Sure, I don't.
- 1:02:03Speaker 7: I really don't think.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: So. When y'all asked me and to go get somebout
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: y'all purse, don't we just bring you the purse?
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: Yep?
- 1:02:09Speaker 7: Yeah, because you've been trained. No, no, no, you love trained.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: We don't snoop you be you don't know what's in
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: your purse. But I can't do go to your person
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: and see condoms.
- 1:02:18Speaker 5: I can't see.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: I can't go in that person's find them. Wait a minute,
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: we don't even use them.
- 1:02:25Speaker 5: What the hell is this in here?
- 1:02:26Speaker 6: Folk?
- 1:02:27Speaker 7: It's just communication. You've been trained not to do that.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: You cannot go from your mother.
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: So you think you think they need to have a
- 1:02:35Speaker 5: sit down and talk about about it.
- 1:02:38Speaker 8: They've been together for three years.
- 1:02:40Speaker 5: But didn't he just already say I want you to
- 1:02:42Speaker 5: respect my things in my space that she.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: Said she should.
- 1:02:45Speaker 8: I don't disagree with that.
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: At all.
- 1:02:47Speaker 8: And I said that she should respect his but everybody's
- 1:02:49Speaker 8: privacy should be respected. But they need to talk about boundaries.
- 1:02:53Speaker 8: Evidently they haven't spoken about that. He just moved in
- 1:02:57Speaker 8: and they didn't talk about it. They've done together three years.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: They're gonna bring come over, sure over basic boundries. Yes,
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: it's basic patries.
- 1:03:04Speaker 5: So now I got to put a lock on the
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: soup because you can stay your asside of it. And
- 1:03:10Speaker 5: that's what I got to do when she come home
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: from work next week. I need to have chains across
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: the dresser draw so you can leave my side of
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: the dressers alan. What what what we're doing? Oh?
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: So, Carl, you think we're wrong? That's on the way
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: she was looking like you me wrong for this.
- 1:03:26Speaker 5: No, we're not wrong for this. It's just it's just private. Okay,
- 1:03:33Speaker 5: okay it is. Do you give Do you give Tosh
- 1:03:37Speaker 5: his space?
- 1:03:39Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: We've been married going on nineteen years though, yeah, next
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: month nineteen years he got space.
- 1:03:46Speaker 5: I got yeah.
- 1:03:48Speaker 7: So what's the next question?
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: Are you unzipping bags?
- 1:03:51Speaker 6: Is what I can?
- 1:03:52Speaker 9: I can?
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: I can't if I want what's in this bag?
- 1:03:58Speaker 9: What?
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: Wow?
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: If I want to, I can't?
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Any more? Questions about the other zipping the back.
- 1:04:05Speaker 8: No, no about case Carl you subject of the Strawberry Letters.
- 1:04:12Speaker 8: It cannot be that serious, can't you know? I mean,
- 1:04:16Speaker 8: it is little things in a relationship. But right here,
- 1:04:19Speaker 8: she just peeked in there.
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: What is she ain't in that? She pulled that whole
- 1:04:23Speaker 5: damn suit out a peaking, no peaking. She put the
- 1:04:29Speaker 5: whole suit out. She saw everything that's going on with
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: that targets.
- 1:04:33Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: Time she didn't say that is I bet you know
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: what color the lining in them studios. She ain't say that.

- 1:04:54Speaker 8: He was sitting right next How do you not hear that?
- 1:04:57Speaker 7: How do you not hear that?

- 1:08:58Speaker 8: I was. I was a player at times, a bully,
- 1:09:02Speaker 8: and I'm embarrassed by it. My girlfriend loved her high
- 1:09:05Speaker 8: school experience and can't wait to experience mine, but I
- 1:09:09Speaker 8: want no part of it and don't want to discuss it.
- 1:09:12Speaker 8: Should I tell her why I don't want to go
- 1:09:13Speaker 8: and unpack all this baggage or leave it in the
- 1:09:16Speaker 8: past where I think it belongs, and just make it
- 1:09:19Speaker 8: clear that I'm not going. It's clearly way more important.

- 1:09:50Speaker 5: but you might as well tell her. You might as
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: well tell them what you know. You've changed, you a
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: different person now, but here's what you used to be.
- 1:09:57Speaker 5: And that's the reason why you really don't want to go.

- 1:10:21Speaker 5: Remember that. But you might want to go on and
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: go to this one because after this one, you don't
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: want to go after that thirty. You don't want to
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: hit that thirty one. This is the one to go
