- 0:00Speaker 1: And I was saying before, with a Party of common sense,
- 0:03Speaker 1: you know, we don't want to have men playing in
- 0:05Speaker 1: women's sports. And I'm going to work it out that
- 0:07Speaker 1: there's no tax on social security for seniors, no tax
- 0:11Speaker 1: on tips.
- 0:14Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
- 0:18Speaker 3: Good Wednesday morning, Ben Ferguson with you, and it's nice
- 0:21Speaker 3: to have you on the forty seven Morning Update. We've
- 0:23Speaker 3: got three big stories for you this morning, including Donald
- 0:26Speaker 3: Trump pledges to end taxes on overtime tips and social
- 0:32Speaker 3: Security benefits. I'll explain the breakdown for you in a moment. Also,
- 0:36Speaker 3: in a major victory for children, Donald Trump has signed
- 0:40Speaker 3: an executive order protecting children from gender mutilation. And finally,
- 0:46Speaker 3: Trump holts three trillion in federal grants pending review of
- 0:51Speaker 3: compliance with his executive orders. Democrats are fighting back with
- 0:56Speaker 3: many lies about what this actually does. Forty seven Morning Update,
- 1:01Speaker 3: and it starts right now.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 1:04Speaker 3: It was a campaign promise that very well may have
- 1:07Speaker 3: won several different swing states for Donald Trump. The promise
- 1:10Speaker 3: he made on the campaign was this, they're.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Going to destroy social security. I am going to leave
- 1:16Speaker 1: social Security. I'm not raising the years. I'm not raising
- 1:19Speaker 1: the age. I will be saving social Security and I'm
- 1:22Speaker 1: going to work it out that there's no tax on
- 1:24Speaker 1: Social Security for seniors. I'm also doing no tax on tips,
- 1:30Speaker 1: no tax on tips. So waiters, waitresses, caddies, people that
- 1:34Speaker 1: drive cars, people that get tips, who have been harassed
- 1:37Speaker 1: by this government, We're gonna have no tax on tips.
- 1:40Speaker 1: That's a big thing.
- 1:41Speaker 3: It is a big thing, and it was a big
- 1:43Speaker 3: thing that may have catapulted him to the White House. Well,
- 1:46Speaker 3: now the president is moving forward working with Congress to
- 1:50Speaker 3: make all of these promises, including no taxes on overtime.
- 1:54Speaker 3: You can add that to the list of promises and
- 1:56Speaker 3: what he's trying to pay off on. So let's go
- 1:59Speaker 3: through these so you understand exactly what is happening. The
- 2:03Speaker 3: taxes on tips and overtime. The proposal that Trump has
- 2:06Speaker 3: now come up with aims to work with Congress to
- 2:09Speaker 3: now pass legislation that would exclude workers' tips and overtime
- 2:14Speaker 3: earnings from federal taxation. Now, what is the impact, Well,
- 2:19Speaker 3: this would increase take home pay for workers in industries
- 2:23Speaker 3: like hospitality. Critics are warning that this quote might lead
- 2:27Speaker 3: to employers reducing base wages, even though there's absolutely no
- 2:31Speaker 3: evidence of that. That is what Democrats are fighting back with.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Let's move to Social Security. The goal of this for
- 2:40Speaker 3: Donald Trump is to simply have more money for retirees.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Seniors would receive their full Social Security benefits without reductions
- 2:49Speaker 3: due to taxation, improving their financial well being, in essence,
- 2:53Speaker 3: giving a cost of living increase a raise to every
- 2:58Speaker 3: single recipient of SECURE. This would also allow, as Donald
- 3:02Speaker 3: Trump has argued this week, for better retirement security. Retirees
- 3:08Speaker 3: living on a fixed income would have more funds available
- 3:10Speaker 3: for necesses like healthcare, housing, and daily expenses that have
- 3:14Speaker 3: skyrocketed because of Biden inflation. And it would also help
- 3:19Speaker 3: stimulate the economy, President Trump says as well, increasing consumer spending.
- 3:25Speaker 3: With more money in their pockets, seniors could contribute more
- 3:28Speaker 3: to the economy by spending on goods and services. Now,
- 3:32Speaker 3: both of these proposals aim to put more money directly
- 3:35Speaker 3: into the hands of workers and retirees, which could improve
- 3:40Speaker 3: financial stability and also stimulate economic growth. So of course,
- 3:45Speaker 3: you know now why so many Democrats are coming out
- 3:48Speaker 3: and saying they're against this proposal because they're against Americans
- 3:53Speaker 3: actually being able to take care of themselves and enjoy.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Life now story number two.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Donald Trump made two promises to the American people during
- 4:02Speaker 3: the campaign. One of them was the issue of transgender
- 4:05Speaker 3: surgeries against miners, saying it's time for us to get
- 4:09Speaker 3: rid of that in the United States of America. No
- 4:11Speaker 3: miner should be mutilated, especially to a young age when
- 4:14Speaker 3: they are a minor. He also made it clear that
- 4:17Speaker 3: he wanted to protect women's sports, getting men transgenders out
- 4:22Speaker 3: of women's locker rooms. How important is this subject to
- 4:25Speaker 3: the president. Well, on the day he was inaugurated, at
- 4:29Speaker 3: one of the inaugural balls that night, President Trump said
- 4:33Speaker 3: this to the crowd.
- 4:35Speaker 1: And I was saying, before, with a party of common sense,
- 4:37Speaker 1: you know, we don't want to have men playing in
- 4:41Speaker 1: women's sports. We don't want to have transgender operations for everyone.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Well, Donald Trump, just one week later, has made part
- 4:50Speaker 3: of what he just talked about become a reality. President
- 4:53Speaker 3: Trump has signed an executive order prohibiting sex reassignment surgeries
- 4:58Speaker 3: for miners. Supporter of the decision are saying thank you
- 5:02Speaker 3: to the present because of how the order was written
- 5:05Speaker 3: a protection of minors. The order aims to quote safeguard
- 5:09Speaker 3: children from making irreversible medical decisions at a young age,
- 5:15Speaker 3: ensuring they reach maturity before considering such procedures. It also
- 5:21Speaker 3: goes into the health and safety aspects of these surgeries.
- 5:24Speaker 3: By delaying these surgeries into adulthood, the policy seeks to
- 5:29Speaker 3: prevent potential medical complications and psychological impacts associated with early
- 5:35Speaker 3: gender transition. And then, parental involvement was part of the
- 5:40Speaker 3: executive order, emphasizing the importance of parental guidance in significant
- 5:46Speaker 3: medical decisions, promoting family involvement in a child's well being,
- 5:50Speaker 3: something that many medical professionals have not wanted to be
- 5:54Speaker 3: a part of the decision making process, and at many
- 5:57Speaker 3: schools they also were doing everything they could hide from
- 6:02Speaker 3: parents a child's decision to quote be transgender. Advocates are
- 6:08Speaker 3: now saying this measure, which has now become an executive order,
- 6:11Speaker 3: will prioritize the long term health and safety of minors,
- 6:15Speaker 3: allowing them to make fully informed decisions about their bodies,
- 6:20Speaker 3: not as children, but as adults. This is another common
- 6:25Speaker 3: sense approach where Donald Trumps said after eighteen, you can
- 6:30Speaker 3: do what you want to do, but when you are
- 6:32Speaker 3: a child, it is my job to protect you from
- 6:35Speaker 3: the radical leftists out there that are trying to indoctrinate
- 6:38Speaker 3: your children into a radical alternative lifestyle.
- 6:42Speaker 2: And lastly, story number three.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Donald Trump sent shockwaves through the federal government today as
- 6:49Speaker 3: he halted three trillion in federal grants pending review of
- 6:53Speaker 3: compliance with his executive orders. President Trump ordering the suspension
- 6:58Speaker 3: of all federal grantsants, loans, and other financial programs pending
- 7:04Speaker 3: what they described as a thorough agency review. The decision
- 7:08Speaker 3: was announced in a two page memo from the Office
- 7:11Speaker 3: of Management and Budget titled Temporary Pause of Agency Grant,
- 7:16Speaker 3: loan and other financial assistance Programs. According to the memo,
- 7:20Speaker 3: it affects at least three trillion and federal outlays.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Now.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Democrats immediately seized on this to say that Donald Trump
- 7:28Speaker 3: was going to stop giving food stamps to Americans and
- 7:31Speaker 3: he was going to stop sending out SOCID security checks.
- 7:34Speaker 3: That is a lie on both of those issues. The
- 7:38Speaker 3: White House was quick to respond and correct the issue,
- 7:42Speaker 3: calling out Democrats for causing panic among seniors and mothers
- 7:47Speaker 3: who are just trying to feed their kids. So let
- 7:50Speaker 3: me tell you what exactly is in this freeze. Number one,
- 7:53Speaker 3: The goal is to enhance fiscal responsibility, how are they
- 7:57Speaker 3: going to do it? Through a thorough review of expenditure,
- 8:00Speaker 3: the pause will allow for a comprehensive assessment of federal
- 8:04Speaker 3: programs to determine their necessity efficiency, potentially identifying and eliminating
- 8:10Speaker 3: wasteful spending. This is something that every American should be
- 8:14Speaker 3: in favor of. Number two inflation mitigation, control of excessive spending.
- 8:21Speaker 3: By scrutinizing and potentially reducing unnecessary expenditures, The initiative aims
- 8:26Speaker 3: to address unchecked spending that can contribute to inflation, thereby
- 8:31Speaker 3: protecting the American economy. And number three alignment with policy objectives.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Focusing on core priorities, The freeze seeks to redirect funds
- 8:41Speaker 3: towards programs that directly support the administration's goals, such as
- 8:46Speaker 3: promoting efficiency in government operations and ending initiatives deemed misaligned
- 8:51Speaker 3: with current policy directions of the Trump administration. And finally,
- 8:56Speaker 3: number four, potential long term saving reduction of federal bloat.
- 9:03Speaker 3: By evaluating in justifying each program's expenditures, the government could
- 9:08Speaker 3: achieve significant savings, white House says, potentially amounting to hundreds
- 9:14Speaker 3: of billions of dollars benefiting taxpayers. Yet again in the
- 9:18Speaker 3: long run. Bottom line, the Trump administration is making it
- 9:22Speaker 3: clear that this is a strategic pause and a prudent
- 9:26Speaker 3: measure to ensure that taxpayer dollars are utilized effectively, fostering
- 9:31Speaker 3: a more accountable and efficient federal government for the workers
- 9:35Speaker 3: the taxpayers in America.
