- 0:25If you haven't done that yet, feel free to pause and do that
- 0:27now when you're ready. Let's dive into God's Word
- 0:31together if you're listening to this on
- 0:44the day it is released. Yesterday, Christians all over
- 0:47the world celebrated Resurrection Sunday.
- 0:50What an app chapter we have today.
- 0:52Listen to the 1st 9 verses of this chapter.
- 0:55But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came
- 0:58to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and
- 1:01they found the stone rolled away from the tomb.
- 1:02But when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord
- 1:05Jesus. While they were perplexed about
- 1:07this, behold, 2 men suddenly stood near them in dazzling
- 1:10clothing. And as the women were terrified
- 1:13and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them,
- 1:16Why do you seek the living One among the dead?
- 1:18He is not here, but He has risen.
- 1:21Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee,
- 1:24saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of
- 1:27sinful men and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
- 1:31And they remembered his words in return from the tomb, and
- 1:34reported all these things to the 11 and to all the rest.
- 1:38This is the hinge point of our faith.
- 1:40This event, the resurrection of Jesus, is what separates
- 1:43Christianity from any other world religion.
- 1:46Christ did not just die for the sins of those who would trust in
- 1:49Him. Christ overcame death.
- 1:52He was raised. He was placed into a tomb dead
- 1:55and walked out of it alive. Listen to what Paul says about
- 1:59the resurrection in first Corinthians 15 as he defends the
- 2:02reality that we too will be physically raised on the last
- 2:05day. This is First Corinthians 15
- 2:07verse 14 he says. And if Christ had not been
- 2:10raised, then our preaching is vain.
- 2:13Your faith also is vain. If Christ hasn't been raised,
- 2:17our faith is vain. This is the crux of
- 2:20Christianity. This is where our hope, our
- 2:22faith, our conviction rest and hear this Christian just a few
- 2:27verses later in First Corinthians 15, verse 20, this
- 2:30is what Paul writes. But now Christ has been raised
- 2:33from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep.
- 2:36Christ has been raised. It's a done deal.
- 2:39And because it is, we can live for Christ, knowing that we
- 2:42serve a risen, reigning Saviour, knowing that our faith is not in
- 2:46vain, knowing that this life is not all there is, and knowing
- 2:51that this life is eternally meaningful.
- 2:54We have purpose. We have a future.
- 2:56Our faith is rooted in the living, resurrected Christ.
- 3:00He is risen. He is seated at the right hand
- 3:03of the Father, interceding for you and for me.
- 3:07Jesus is alive. The stories are true.
- 3:10Our faith has found a resting place, not in legend or
- 3:14tradition or ancient religion, but in a real, risen Savior,
- 3:19Jesus Christ.
