- 0:01Speaker 1: A ceasefire that will lead to peace is a wonderful thing.
- 0:04Speaker 1: And the only reason we're talking about ceasefire is bec
- 0:07Speaker 1: also Donald J. Trump. But here's my question. The Rani
- 0:10Speaker 1: and Foreign Minister said at four o'clock midy's time they
- 0:13Speaker 1: would no longer attack Israel if Israel doesn't attack them.
- 0:16Speaker 1: What I want him to say tomorrow morning is, not
- 0:19Speaker 1: only will we not attack Israel in the future, we
- 0:21Speaker 1: recognize Israel as a legitimate member of the Midies.
- 0:26Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Good Tuesday morning. It's so nice to have you with
- 0:31Speaker 3: us on the forty seven Morning Update. And the big
- 0:34Speaker 3: story is obviously Donald Trump announcing a ceasefire in Iran.
- 0:38Speaker 3: This coming after our first big story, which was Iran
- 0:42Speaker 3: who decided to retaliate, this time against United States of America.
- 0:47Speaker 3: But the story behind the retaliation is one that's very
- 0:50Speaker 3: interesting and we're going to explain that to you, and
- 0:53Speaker 3: we're also going to cover what Donald Trump said and
- 0:56Speaker 3: what this ceasefire means and what could happen moving forward.
- 0:59Speaker 3: We've got it all. It's all for you right now.
- 1:01Speaker 3: As it's a historic day in American history and a
- 1:04Speaker 3: massive victory for President Trump and his leadership. And it
- 1:08Speaker 3: starts right now.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Story number one nothing.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Short of historic. President Donald Trump announcing on Monday that
- 1:15Speaker 3: Israel and Iran have agreed to a quote complete and
- 1:19Speaker 3: total ceasefire after twelve days of ongoing war between the
- 1:23Speaker 3: two countries. The present putting it this way, saying, quote,
- 1:27Speaker 3: congratulations to everyone. It has been fully agreed by Israel
- 1:33Speaker 3: and Iran that there will be a complete and total
- 1:36Speaker 3: ceasefire in approximately six hours from now, when Israel and
- 1:39Speaker 3: Iran have wound down and completed there in progress final
- 1:44Speaker 3: mission for twelve hours, at which point the war will
- 1:47Speaker 3: be considered ended all capital letters, Trump putting this on
- 1:51Speaker 3: true social saying officially, Iran will start the ceasefire, and
- 1:56Speaker 3: upon the twelfth hour, Israel will start the ceasefire, and
- 2:00Speaker 3: on the twenty fourth hour, an official end to the
- 2:03Speaker 3: twelve day war will be saluted by the world. During
- 2:09Speaker 3: each cease fire, the other side will remain peaceful and respectful.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Trump added for having agreed to a cease fire on
- 2:16Speaker 3: the assumption that everything worked as it should, saying, quote,
- 2:21Speaker 3: this is a war that could have gone on for
- 2:24Speaker 3: years and destroyed the entire Middle East. But it didn't
- 2:28Speaker 3: and never will. God bless Israel. President then said, God
- 2:32Speaker 3: bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God Bless the
- 2:36Speaker 3: United States of America. And then in all caps, the
- 2:39Speaker 3: President wrote, God bless the world. Now, Trump's chosen title,
- 2:43Speaker 3: the Twelve Day War is a clear allusion to the
- 2:46Speaker 3: Sixth Day War of nineteen sixty seven, another dramatic victory
- 2:50Speaker 3: by Israel over its enemies. The Twelve Day War is
- 2:53Speaker 3: no less dramatic of victory, and perhaps even greater one,
- 2:57Speaker 3: opening a path for greater peace and prosperity in the
- 3:00Speaker 3: region and for the India Middle East European Economic Corridor,
- 3:05Speaker 3: the trade route that Trump has been talking about a
- 3:08Speaker 3: lot lately. Now, the other part of this is what
- 3:12Speaker 3: happened after Israel struck those Iran nuclear sites. It was
- 3:16Speaker 3: clear that Iran wanted to get a deal done quickly,
- 3:19Speaker 3: but they also had to save face. And so now
- 3:22Speaker 3: we know more about their strike against American interest in Qutar.
- 3:27Speaker 3: What we now know is that strike was symbolic and
- 3:30Speaker 3: also calibrated retaliation the missile strike on guitars and our
- 3:35Speaker 3: air Force base, Iran launched a barrage reportedly of fourteen
- 3:39Speaker 3: to nineteen short and medium range ballistic missiles in response
- 3:43Speaker 3: to US bunker buster bombings of the three nuclear sites
- 3:47Speaker 3: that the President ordered in America. Most missiles were intercepted.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Why because they said beforehand this was going to happen.
- 3:56Speaker 3: One of those missiles reportedly struck the base, but caused
- 3:59Speaker 3: no oh casualties, thank goodness. And Iran also stated that
- 4:04Speaker 3: this was a proportional and measured response as they described it.
- 4:08Speaker 3: In fact, they fired exactly as many missiles as the
- 4:11Speaker 3: US drop bombs, emphasizing symmetry and avoiding escalation by also
- 4:18Speaker 3: saving face as a radical Islamic regime. It also provided
- 4:22Speaker 3: advanced notice we now knowed Qatar, and also to the
- 4:25Speaker 3: US signaling quote unquote restraint and then the de escalation
- 4:30Speaker 3: signals began. Despite that strike, Iran avoided broader disruptions. It
- 4:36Speaker 3: didn't threaten global supplies or shut down the Strait of Hormuz.
- 4:41Speaker 3: That is something that their parliament in essence had said
- 4:44Speaker 3: they were going to advocate for just twenty four hours earlier,
- 4:48Speaker 3: but clearly the leadership in Iran didn't want to do that.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Iran indicated it would quote stand down if Israel halted
- 4:56Speaker 3: its bombings, hinting at a conditional truce. So the takeaway
- 5:00Speaker 3: from all of this is that Iran's goal was clearly limited.
- 5:04Speaker 3: It was also a symbolic blow and not a full
- 5:08Speaker 3: military engagement. Why because Iran had to keep up their
- 5:13Speaker 3: strong rhetoric but no escalation. The Supreme Leader, for example,
- 5:17Speaker 3: and the IRGC emphasized their quote readiness to hit the
- 5:21Speaker 3: Achilles heel of US forces, but they actually didn't do
- 5:25Speaker 3: that at all. The Foreign Minister in Iran also came
- 5:28Speaker 3: out condemning the US bombings as a quote heinous crime
- 5:32Speaker 3: and warned of ever lasting consequences reserving all options. Clearly
- 5:38Speaker 3: that wasn't actually what they were planning on as well.
- 5:41Speaker 3: And then the parliament backed that potential closure of the
- 5:44Speaker 3: Strait of Hormuz, but the Council did not act. So
- 5:47Speaker 3: what does this mean? Overall? It's clear that this was
- 5:50Speaker 3: a broader Iranian well miscalculation that they tried to get
- 5:55Speaker 3: under control quickly. Iran is seen preparing a mix of
- 5:59Speaker 3: option the analysts have said at this hour, targeted strikes
- 6:03Speaker 3: on US installation, cyber or proxy attacks, and even plans
- 6:07Speaker 3: to well disrupt global oil or naval routes. But what
- 6:11Speaker 3: really happened is Aram seem determined to avoid total war,
- 6:16Speaker 3: wanting a balance and a deterrence for their own people
- 6:20Speaker 3: to maybe topple them, while allowing diplomacy to work. In
- 6:23Speaker 3: the United States of America, the bottom line is this
- 6:27Speaker 3: Iran has responded with a deliberate, proportional missile strike that
- 6:32Speaker 3: was pre warned, carefully designed to deter further US or
- 6:35Speaker 3: Israeli aggression without triggering full blown escalation, and by giving
- 6:40Speaker 3: advance warning matching US strikes one for one and tying
- 6:45Speaker 3: any ceasefire to Israel stopping its attacks, Tehran now appears
- 6:50Speaker 3: intent on framing its move as a strategic and restrained,
- 6:54Speaker 3: not reckless regime who clearly learn their lesson when Donald
- 6:58Speaker 3: Trump tells you UF sixty days to make a d
- 7:00Speaker 3: you better make the damn deal now.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Story number two.
- 7:03Speaker 3: There is a massive ceasefire that we all now know about,
- 7:07Speaker 3: and it is a historic moment for the President of
- 7:10Speaker 3: the United States of America who said, I do not
- 7:12Speaker 3: want regime change, I do not want to take out
- 7:15Speaker 3: the leader in Iran. I do want to make sure
- 7:18Speaker 3: that we are safe and that they never receive nuclear weapons. Well,
- 7:22Speaker 3: you put that in contrast with what the media wanted,
- 7:26Speaker 3: and my ow, Mai, is it a very different story.
- 7:28Speaker 3: We know the mainstream media hates Donald Trump. We know
- 7:31Speaker 3: that they care more about him being a failure than
- 7:34Speaker 3: they do about the success of making sure that our
- 7:37Speaker 3: foreign policy keeps Americans and others safe around the world.
- 7:41Speaker 3: But if you need a moment to highlight exactly how
- 7:45Speaker 3: biased the media is and exactly how much they hate
- 7:49Speaker 3: Donald Trump and how much they would rather Trump fail
- 7:52Speaker 3: than there'd be success and safety and security for the
- 7:55Speaker 3: United States of America, then you just need to listen
- 7:58Speaker 3: to what I'm going to play for you right now.
- 8:00Speaker 3: What I'm about to play for you was on CNN
- 8:02Speaker 3: right the most trusted name in news, and it was
- 8:05Speaker 3: an embarrassing moment if you were watching it. I hope
- 8:08Speaker 3: you share this everywhere because CNN gets word that Iran
- 8:12Speaker 3: has accepted the cease fire deal just seconds after Caitlin
- 8:18Speaker 3: Collins sets up a narrative casting doubt on Donald Trump. Yes,
- 8:23Speaker 3: this happened in real time. No, this is not me
- 8:26Speaker 3: putting two different segments together from different parts of the day.
- 8:31Speaker 3: I want you to listen to this to the very end.
- 8:33Speaker 3: You really can't make this up. And I mean this,
- 8:36Speaker 3: you cannot hate the liberal media enough.
- 8:39Speaker 4: We're hearing incredibly optimistic views coming out of the White
- 8:42Speaker 4: House as far as how long this can hold and
- 8:44Speaker 4: what this is going to look like. That obviously still
- 8:46Speaker 4: remains to be seen on the implementation side of this,
- 8:49Speaker 4: and waiting to see if the firing does stop and
- 8:52Speaker 4: if Iran and Israel do both agree to this, because
- 8:55Speaker 4: you know, speaking of the fluidity of the situation, it
- 8:57Speaker 4: was just twenty four hours ago the President Trump self
- 9:00Speaker 4: was suggesting a regime change in Iran was a possibility,
- 9:04Speaker 4: and obviously right before that having the United States strike
- 9:06Speaker 4: Iran and so yes, there have been a lot of
- 9:08Speaker 4: phone calls going back and forth. In part this has
- 9:11Speaker 4: to do with Iran's limited response earlier where they fired
- 9:14Speaker 4: on a US base in Qatar, but there were no casualties.
- 9:18Speaker 4: We know that they did give a heads up that
- 9:20Speaker 4: they were going to be firing on US bass without
- 9:22Speaker 4: exactly specif specifying which ones. But that is the question
- 9:26Speaker 4: here is if the United States felt that it did
- 9:29Speaker 4: not need to respond to the Iranian retaliation, did that
- 9:32Speaker 4: create the space for this That is what we've been
- 9:35Speaker 4: hearing from administration officials, and so the question is whether
- 9:38Speaker 4: or not this still holds for the next few hours.
- 9:41Speaker 5: Caitlin, I just been given a word that Iran, according
- 9:44Speaker 5: to a diplomat who brief CNN, Iran has agreed to
- 9:47Speaker 5: the cease fire. So this is significant. I just want
- 9:51Speaker 5: to try to learn some more information as soon as
- 9:53Speaker 5: we get it about that. But if that is the case,
- 9:55Speaker 5: that's incredibly significant because that is we were waiting. We
- 9:58Speaker 5: had not heard from Ran, we had not heard from Israel.
- 10:02Speaker 5: All we were going on so far has been the
- 10:04Speaker 5: president's social media post, which was some two hours ago.
- 10:08Speaker 5: So again, that is the first indication we have that
- 10:11Speaker 5: Iran has agreed to this.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Oops, right, like, you cannot make this up. And this
- 10:17Speaker 3: is the media showing you just how much they were
- 10:20Speaker 3: hoping that what Donald Trump put out would somehow not
- 10:24Speaker 3: become reality, that it would be a failure, that they
- 10:27Speaker 3: could then point to him and say he's starting World
- 10:30Speaker 3: War three. Donald Trump is putting everyone's lives at risk.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Donald Trump is the problem, and you can hear it
- 10:37Speaker 3: in real time. Now, That's not the only thing I
- 10:41Speaker 3: want to remind you about. And this goes back to
- 10:43Speaker 3: liberals that are in charge. I want to take you
- 10:46Speaker 3: back to guy by the name of Scott Kirby. He
- 10:49Speaker 3: is a guy that was at the White House, a
- 10:51Speaker 3: guy that was there under the Biden regime. And what
- 10:54Speaker 3: did Scott Kirby say back on September the thirteenth of
- 10:59Speaker 3: twenty twenty three, and then what did he say January
- 11:02Speaker 3: fourth of twenty twenty four. Remember this Kirby on the
- 11:06Speaker 3: six billion that Biden released to Iran, saying the last
- 11:10Speaker 3: administration was quote incredibly unseerious, absolutely terrible for the world.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Here is the comparing contrast of them.
- 11:19Speaker 6: The US will have visibility. We'll be able to engage
- 11:21Speaker 6: in oversight about where the money was going and for
- 11:24Speaker 6: what purpose. If Ron tries to divert the funds, we'll
- 11:27Speaker 6: take action and we'll lock them up again. And there
- 11:29Speaker 6: will be sufficient oversight to make sure that the request
- 11:32Speaker 6: is valid and that it's going through vendors who we
- 11:36Speaker 6: and the cutteries can trust will actually contract for the goods,
- 11:40Speaker 6: the medical equipment, the food, whatever it is. The regime
- 11:43Speaker 6: doesn't get to touch the money. Peter doesn't go to them.
- 11:46Speaker 6: They don't get to they don't get to decide ultimate
- 11:49Speaker 6: destination and they have no direct access to it. John
- 11:54Speaker 6: arn made two transactions withdrawing from the previously frozen funds
- 12:00Speaker 6: in Oman. What were those transactions for. I don't have
- 12:04Speaker 6: the details on that, JACKI you're gonna have to let
- 12:06Speaker 6: me get back to you on that.
- 12:07Speaker 3: There's the line. Whether it's the media or whether it
- 12:10Speaker 3: was the Biden administration, they were lying to you the
- 12:13Speaker 3: entire time about what was happening with their administration, and
- 12:17Speaker 3: they were not holding Iran accountable. And now that President
- 12:20Speaker 3: Trump has done it, they're now furious that it is
- 12:22Speaker 3: a success and they're rooting against it every step of
- 12:26Speaker 3: the way. Which brings me to the point why did
- 12:29Speaker 3: so many Americans vote for Donald Trump. It's actually very
- 12:32Speaker 3: simple because they wanted to make sure that countries like
- 12:36Speaker 3: Iran who are a threat to United States America are
- 12:38Speaker 3: held accountable. And yet again, the President made good on
- 12:43Speaker 3: his promise to the American people to protect and defend
- 12:46Speaker 3: the homeland.
