Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / Labeling the Muslim Brotherhood, AI needs a Soft Touch plus Cruz Calls Out Carlson & Qatar Week In Review
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:00Speaker 2: It is Verdict with Ted Cruz, Weekend Review, Ben Ferguson
- 0:03Speaker 2: with you, and these are the stories that you may
- 0:05Speaker 2: have missed that we talked about this week. First up,
- 0:07Speaker 2: an ongoing battle to designate the Muslim Brotherhood of terrorist
- 0:11Speaker 2: organization and it's time for you to step up and
- 0:14Speaker 2: call your Congressman and your Senator will explain how important
- 0:18Speaker 2: this is.
- 0:18Speaker 1: And just a moment. Also, AI executive order.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Signed by the President is going to excel AI business
- 0:26Speaker 2: in America. Why is it so important that we beat
- 0:29Speaker 2: China on this? And it deals with national security. We'll
- 0:31Speaker 2: explain that as well. And also, in a very odd move,
- 0:35Speaker 2: a guy by the name of Tucker Carlson decides to
- 0:38Speaker 2: go to Katar, stuck up to the country and buy
- 0:41Speaker 2: a house. It's the Weekend Review and it starts right now.
- 0:45Speaker 2: All right, Finally, Senator, I love doing the show because
- 0:48Speaker 2: we get to bring attention and actually get our listeners involved.
- 0:52Speaker 2: The next subject we're going to be talking about is
- 0:53Speaker 2: one where I would say to everyone listening, this is
- 0:56Speaker 2: when you say, I'm going to take a moment, I'm
- 0:59Speaker 2: going to send the I'm going to call my center.
- 1:01Speaker 2: I'm going to call my congressman, this is something you've
- 1:04Speaker 2: been working on. We've been talking about a lot, and
- 1:08Speaker 2: it deals with the Muslim Brotherhood bill, and I want
- 1:12Speaker 2: you to give this update, Becau. It's important and a
- 1:14Speaker 2: lot of people that listen Berg they say, hey, what
- 1:16Speaker 2: can I do?
- 1:16Speaker 1: How can my voice be heard?
- 1:18Speaker 2: This is a perfect example of where your phone call
- 1:20Speaker 2: can make a big difference.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 1:23Speaker 4: So, Look, the Muslim Brotherhood is a terrorist organization. It
- 1:27Speaker 4: is one of the most dangerous terrorist organizations on the planet.
- 1:31Speaker 4: I have been fighting for literally ten years for the
- 1:35Speaker 4: United States to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization.
- 1:41Speaker 4: In the first Trump administration, I came incredibly close. I
- 1:45Speaker 4: almost got the Trump administration to do it. Here's what
- 1:48Speaker 4: defeated me. So there's a global umbrella group, the Muslim Brotherhood,
- 1:54Speaker 4: and there are a bunch of affiliates that are in
- 1:56Speaker 4: different countries, and there were Deep States State Department operatives
- 2:02Speaker 4: who argued against what I was trying to do in
- 2:04Speaker 4: Trump want And the argument they use that prevailed is
- 2:08Speaker 4: they said, well, look, not every single affiliate of the
- 2:12Speaker 4: Muslim Brotherhood can we prove as a terrorist organization? Some
- 2:16Speaker 4: of them clearly are, but others of them, there's not
- 2:19Speaker 4: clear and irrefutable evidence that they're engaged in terrorism. That's
- 2:24Speaker 4: what defeated my effort.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Trump won.
- 2:27Speaker 4: So here's what I've done Trump too, I said, the
- 2:30Speaker 4: previous efforts were top down. They were designate the Global
- 2:35Speaker 4: Muslim Brotherhood and then designate all their affiliates. They argued,
- 2:40Speaker 4: some of the affiliates may not be terrorists. I don't
- 2:42Speaker 4: buy that, but it was an argument, and it was
- 2:45Speaker 4: an argument that was successful in Trump won. So in
- 2:49Speaker 4: Trump too, I inverted the entire approach. I said, all right,
- 2:52Speaker 4: let's rather than being top down, let's start bottom up.
- 2:57Speaker 4: And so I filed legislation that directed the administration designate
- 3:02Speaker 4: every Muslim Brotherhood affiliate that there is clear and unequivocal
- 3:06Speaker 4: evidence their terrorist organization. So, for example, Hamas Hamas is
- 3:10Speaker 4: the Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine, so there is no dispute
- 3:14Speaker 4: Hamas is a terrorist organization.
- 3:16Speaker 3: So that is an easy.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Example of a Muslim Brotherhood affiliate that is indisputably terrorist.
- 3:23Speaker 4: My legislation says designate the affiliates, and then it says
- 3:29Speaker 4: designate the Global Muslim Brotherhood for providing money, for providing
- 3:35Speaker 4: material assistance to the affiliates that are indisputably terrorist organizations.
- 3:41Speaker 4: So I filed that legislation. I've been pressing the Trump administration.
- 3:45Speaker 4: President Trump stepped in and he announced that he was
- 3:50Speaker 4: in designating the Muslim Brotherhood's terrorist organization, not the global
- 3:55Speaker 4: but the individual affiliates. And basically, the Trumpet administration is
- 3:59Speaker 4: followed following the approach in my legislation. Now, I want
- 4:02Speaker 4: you to listen. This week, a State Department official from
- 4:07Speaker 4: the Trump administration was testifying before the Senate. I questioned
- 4:10Speaker 4: him on this, give a listen. Do you believe the
- 4:13Speaker 4: Muslim Brotherhood poses a threat to the national security.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Of the United States. Yes.
- 4:18Speaker 4: Now let's pivot away from the President's executive order to
- 4:21Speaker 4: what's happening here in Congress. As I said earlier, and
- 4:25Speaker 4: as you observed, I've been pushing to designate the Muslim
- 4:29Speaker 4: Brotherhood for more than a decade.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Now.
- 4:31Speaker 4: I've introduced legislation to do so in all but one
- 4:34Speaker 4: Congress since I was elected. This Congress, I introduced a
- 4:38Speaker 4: version of my bill, the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Designation Act,
- 4:41Speaker 4: that uses the same bottoms up approach that is in
- 4:45Speaker 4: President Trump's executive order. It has bipartisan support in both chambers.
- 4:51Speaker 4: Last week, frustratingly, the House version of my bill was
- 4:54Speaker 4: advanced but terminally weakened by the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
- 5:00Speaker 4: We took out the designation part of the Muslim Brotherhood
- 5:03Speaker 4: Terrorist Designation Act. The Senate should do better, and we
- 5:06Speaker 4: should move the full bill on our side. Some public
- 5:10Speaker 4: reports and statements have claimed that House members, including House Republicans,
- 5:15Speaker 4: did not believe that Congress should have a role in
- 5:17Speaker 4: crafting sanctions which are to be implemented by the executive
- 5:21Speaker 4: I find that argument to be specious, and I know
- 5:23Speaker 4: the vast majority of this committee does as well, Mister Lerherfel,
- 5:29Speaker 4: I and my colleagues have implicit and explicit expectations that
- 5:33Speaker 4: executive officials will work with and, when appropriate, even defer
- 5:37Speaker 4: to this Committee on issues of foreign policy, including sanctions
- 5:41Speaker 4: and including the designation of terrorist groups. What is your
- 5:44Speaker 4: view of the role that Congress plays on these issues,
- 5:47Speaker 4: including on initiatives like mine to designate the Muslim Brotherhood
- 5:51Speaker 4: as a terrorist group.
- 5:53Speaker 5: Senator Cruz, thank you for your question. I fully respect
- 5:58Speaker 5: Congress's Article one authority and making laws, including with respect
- 6:04Speaker 5: to foreign terror organization designations or other types of designations.
- 6:09Speaker 5: Whatever legislation has passed, I will faithfully execute if I
- 6:13Speaker 5: am confirmed.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Thank you all right.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Final question, one element of this debate that continues to
- 6:20Speaker 4: surprise me, and I don't think the American people, even
- 6:22Speaker 4: many people here in Congress, I don't think they appreciate
- 6:27Speaker 4: the degree to which are allies support acknowledging and designating
- 6:32Speaker 4: the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization. As you know, Jordan, Egypt,
- 6:37Speaker 4: Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Kenya, they have all already
- 6:43Speaker 4: designated the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization. These are
- 6:47Speaker 4: our allies and partners in the Middle East and Africa,
- 6:49Speaker 4: and there's a pernicious narrative that doing the same thing
- 6:53Speaker 4: they've done designating the Muslim Brotherhood will somehow alienate these partners.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Describe how you would work with our allies to counter
- 7:02Speaker 4: the Brotherhood's malign activities.
- 7:05Speaker 5: Senator Cruz, thank you for that question. I can say
- 7:09Speaker 5: that in a previous capacity in the Bureau of counter Terrorism,
- 7:11Speaker 5: I led our efforts to designate the IRGC, get designations
- 7:17Speaker 5: of other countries to diet designate the IRGC, as well
- 7:20Speaker 5: as Hbela and Hamas particularly in the Western Hemisphere. That approach,
- 7:24Speaker 5: it's pretty pretty intense diplomacy. It requires a lot of legwork.
- 7:30Speaker 5: I've talked with our chief submission the Western Hemisphere across
- 7:33Speaker 5: to Australia with respect to that, and you saw the
- 7:35Speaker 5: news there about four or five months ago what Australia
- 7:37Speaker 5: did with respect to the IRGC. I would template that
- 7:41Speaker 5: really and get at the Muslim Brotherhood using that diplomatic approach.
- 7:45Speaker 5: That word that is working, and there's more work to
- 7:47Speaker 5: be done. Let me be clear with the IRGC and
- 7:49Speaker 5: his bullah and hamas, but I would template that in
- 7:52Speaker 5: our efforts with the Muslim Brotherhood.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Terrific, very help, thank thank you, Thank.
- 7:56Speaker 1: You, sir.
- 7:57Speaker 2: You're here, your question there, and I want you to
- 8:00Speaker 2: to explain why this is so important.
- 8:02Speaker 6: Center.
- 8:03Speaker 4: We need to be clear eyed. We need to be
- 8:05Speaker 4: clear eyed about the threats to America. The Muslim Brotherhood
- 8:09Speaker 4: is a radical jihadist global terror network. They are funding
- 8:14Speaker 4: jahatas in countries across the globe and we are seeing
- 8:18Speaker 4: we started this podcast by talking about eighteen thousand terrorists
- 8:21Speaker 4: coming to this country. Enter Joe Biden. These are the
- 8:25Speaker 4: Muslim Brotherhood is deliberately promoting people who are seeking to
- 8:29Speaker 4: engage in acts of terror, they're seeking to wage jihad,
- 8:33Speaker 4: and we need to be serious and clear eyed. And
- 8:35Speaker 4: I got to say, there's some Republicans that are nervous
- 8:38Speaker 4: about this, but Donald Trump is not, and his designation
- 8:41Speaker 4: was historic, and I'm continuing to work hand in hand
- 8:44Speaker 4: with him to protect American to protect the American people
- 8:49Speaker 4: against the threat of the Muslim brotherhood, against the threat
- 8:52Speaker 4: of jahadis.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 8:56Speaker 2: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 8:58Speaker 2: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two. You
- 9:03Speaker 2: may have heard about AI. It's pretty impressive what it
- 9:06Speaker 2: can do, but there also has to be framework around
- 9:09Speaker 2: it and making sure that it is a way for
- 9:12Speaker 2: us to use the tools and also keep people safe.
- 9:15Speaker 2: There's a lot of concern with AI also when it
- 9:18Speaker 2: comes to who's going to be leading in the industry.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Is it going to be the United States or China?
- 9:24Speaker 2: And what does AI look like if they're the leader,
- 9:28Speaker 2: and how can they manipulate everything through AI centater. This
- 9:32Speaker 2: is something that we've talked about on this show a lot.
- 9:35Speaker 2: I think we've led on this topic. It's an important
- 9:38Speaker 2: one because it is a race I describe the other
- 9:42Speaker 2: day on TV as this is no different than the
- 9:44Speaker 2: race of the Moon with Russia, the race to the
- 9:46Speaker 2: moon with AI and China.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Whoever gets there first is probably going to win and
- 9:50Speaker 1: own it.
- 9:51Speaker 2: And this is a really really important subject right now.
- 9:55Speaker 2: And it's also when I think that deals with national security.
- 9:58Speaker 4: So the single most important an economic battle we have
- 10:01Speaker 4: in this country right now is the race Fraei. This
- 10:05Speaker 4: is going to transform the world. We may not like it,
- 10:09Speaker 4: but it's going to happen. And the binary choice is
- 10:14Speaker 4: does America win or does China win. Look, whoever wins
- 10:18Speaker 4: the race fraei, the values of that country will define
- 10:23Speaker 4: the characteristics of AI. If you want AI to be
- 10:26Speaker 4: defined by the values of China, if you want it
- 10:29Speaker 4: to be surveillance and control and propaganda and the communist
- 10:35Speaker 4: government controlling every thing you think, then you want China
- 10:39Speaker 4: to win. If you want it to be free speech
- 10:42Speaker 4: and free enterprise and individual rights, then you want America
- 10:44Speaker 4: to win. And this is you think back to the
- 10:48Speaker 4: nineteen nineties. The battle for the Internet was a massive battle.
- 10:53Speaker 4: America won the battle for the Internet. We prevailed this
- 10:58Speaker 4: battle of AI is more consequential than the battle for
- 11:01Speaker 4: the Internet. Today, President Trump signed an executive order seeking
- 11:06Speaker 4: to ensure a consistent national standard of rules for AI
- 11:12Speaker 4: to stop Gavin Newsom and Hockel and JB. Presker and
- 11:17Speaker 4: on all these left wing democrats in the States from
- 11:20Speaker 4: putting contradictory, burdensome, inconsistent rules on AI that ends up
- 11:27Speaker 4: crippling American AI and letting China win. I want you
- 11:30Speaker 4: to listen to Presidents he talked about this today.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Well, thank you very much.
- 11:37Speaker 6: We have a big signing right now, and we have
- 11:40Speaker 6: a tremendous industry.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Where we're leading by a lot.
- 11:44Speaker 6: It's the AI artificial intelligence. I always thought it should
- 11:47Speaker 6: be SI Supreme Intelligence, but I guess somewhere along the
- 11:52Speaker 6: line they decided under word artificial and that's okay with me.
- 11:55Speaker 6: That's up to them.
- 11:56Speaker 3: It's a massive industry.
- 11:59Speaker 6: We're leading China, We're leading everybody by a tremendous amount.
- 12:03Speaker 6: Where the electricity is being built by them in every
- 12:06Speaker 6: plant they're building the electricity. We're getting them rapid approvals,
- 12:10Speaker 6: but they're spending trillions of dollars and they can't. Basically,
- 12:15Speaker 6: this is a couple of other things that are less important.
- 12:17Speaker 6: But one of the things it has is you have
- 12:19Speaker 6: to have a central source of approval. When they need
- 12:22Speaker 6: approvals of things, they have to come to one source.
- 12:25Speaker 6: They can't go to California, New York and various other
- 12:29Speaker 6: places like Illinois with Pritzker, who's you know, a totally
- 12:32Speaker 6: unreasonable person, and they have to have you know, they're
- 12:35Speaker 6: putting all this money in. It's a big part of
- 12:37Speaker 6: the economy and there's only going to be I think
- 12:40Speaker 6: one winner here. I don't know if anybody agrees with that.
- 12:42Speaker 6: I think most people agree, but there's only going to
- 12:44Speaker 6: be one winner here, and that's probably going to be
- 12:48Speaker 6: the US or China, and right now we're winning.
- 12:50Speaker 3: By a lot.
- 12:51Speaker 6: China has a central source of approval. I don't think
- 12:54Speaker 6: they have any approval. They's go and built, but people
- 12:57Speaker 6: want to be in the United States and they want
- 12:58Speaker 6: to do it here we have the big investment coming.
- 13:02Speaker 6: But if they had to get fifty different approvals from
- 13:04Speaker 6: fifty different states, you could forget it because it's not
- 13:06Speaker 6: possible to do especially if you have some hostile All
- 13:09Speaker 6: you need is one hostile actor and you wouldn't be
- 13:12Speaker 6: able to do it. So it doesn't make sense. I
- 13:14Speaker 6: didn't have to be briefed in this. By the way,
- 13:16Speaker 6: this is real easy business. I mean, this is simple.
- 13:19Speaker 6: So we're very happy with that. But this is about
- 13:22Speaker 6: something a little bit different. We want to have one
- 13:24Speaker 6: central source of approval, and we have I think great
- 13:28Speaker 6: Republican support. I think we probably have Democrats support too,
- 13:32Speaker 6: because it's common sense. I mean, you can't go to
- 13:34Speaker 6: every time you make a change, and it could be
- 13:36Speaker 6: a very reasonable change, you still won't get it approved
- 13:39Speaker 6: if you have to go to fifty states. So this
- 13:42Speaker 6: centralizes it, and it's something which the people behind me,
- 13:46Speaker 6: the very distinguished people all but Tim Cook just left
- 13:51Speaker 6: of Apple and spoke to all of the big companies,
- 13:54Speaker 6: great companies, and they won't be able to do this.
- 13:59Speaker 6: This will not be successful unless they have one source
- 14:02Speaker 6: of approval or disapproval. Frightenly, you could have disapproval too,
- 14:05Speaker 6: but it's got to be one source. They can't go
- 14:07Speaker 6: to fifty different sources.
- 14:09Speaker 2: This seems to be a core point of what the
- 14:11Speaker 2: President and what you were trying to accomplish, which is
- 14:14Speaker 2: that one source, because otherwise it would be impossible to
- 14:18Speaker 2: grow AI and to deal with it the way that
- 14:20Speaker 2: we need to deal with it. If you didn't have
- 14:24Speaker 2: this kind of one standard across the board.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Look, AI is transformational. Think back to the nineteen nineties.
- 14:31Speaker 4: The nineteen nineties, Bill Clinton was president and the Internet.
- 14:36Speaker 4: It was the dawn of the Internet, and we made
- 14:39Speaker 4: a choice. America made a choice to do a light
- 14:42Speaker 4: touch regulatory approach to the Internet, and we ended up
- 14:45Speaker 4: winning that race. America dominates tech, We dominate the Internet.
- 14:50Speaker 4: It produced hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of jobs
- 14:54Speaker 4: in the United States. That was incredibly consequential. AI is
- 14:58Speaker 4: the same point. And Ben, I'll say, Look, I understand
- 15:01Speaker 4: people across the country. They're nervous about AI. They're afraid.
- 15:05Speaker 4: They don't want AI to come take their jobs. They
- 15:07Speaker 4: don't want AI to render them irrelevant. They don't like
- 15:10Speaker 4: the technology. And I get that that's not a crazy
- 15:12Speaker 4: thing to think. But look my view, I'm not a
- 15:15Speaker 4: lut eyed. I don't think the fact that you're nervous
- 15:19Speaker 4: about technology can make it go away. As much as
- 15:23Speaker 4: you might be worried. Listen, I'll readily admit if there
- 15:26Speaker 4: were a button in front of me right now to
- 15:28Speaker 4: destroy every cell phone in the world, I'd push that
- 15:31Speaker 4: button because I think cell phones are a portal. You know,
- 15:34Speaker 4: I'm a dad. I've got two teenage girls. Cell phones
- 15:38Speaker 4: are a portal to every evil.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Force in the world at our kids.
- 15:43Speaker 4: But we don't live in that world. AI is here,
- 15:45Speaker 4: it is coming. We have a binary choice. Does America
- 15:49Speaker 4: win it? Or does China win it. I want you
- 15:52Speaker 4: to listen to what I had to say with President
- 15:54Speaker 4: Trump in the Oval today.
- 15:55Speaker 3: Give a listen.
- 15:57Speaker 6: Ted Cruz has been a very strong advocate of this
- 16:00Speaker 6: is common sense. I mean, I think it's nothing one
- 16:02Speaker 6: of the common sense.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Please diad listen.
- 16:05Speaker 4: This is the single most important economic question in the
- 16:09Speaker 4: country and in the world.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Who wins the race for AI.
- 16:13Speaker 4: You look back to the nineteen nineties, there was a
- 16:15Speaker 4: similar inflection point with the beginning of the Internet, the
- 16:18Speaker 4: dawn of the Internet, and Bill Clinton was president at
- 16:21Speaker 4: the time. He signed an executive order just like you're
- 16:23Speaker 4: doing that put into law a light touch regulatory approach
- 16:28Speaker 4: to the Internet, and the result was incredible economic growth
- 16:33Speaker 4: in jobs in the United States. Is the same time,
- 16:36Speaker 4: the European Union took a very heavy handed regulatory approach.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Here's an amazing statistic, mister president.
- 16:43Speaker 4: In nineteen ninety three, the US economies in Europe's economy
- 16:47Speaker 4: were virtually identical in size. Today, America's economy is more
- 16:51Speaker 4: than fifty percent larger than Europe's, and the two drivers
- 16:55Speaker 4: of that are tech and the shale revolution. It transformed
- 16:59Speaker 4: this country, and AI is the same thing. It's a race,
- 17:03Speaker 4: and if China wins the race, whoever wins, the values
- 17:06Speaker 4: of that country will affect all of AI. We don't
- 17:11Speaker 4: want China's values of surveillance and centralized control by the communist.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Government governing AI.
- 17:18Speaker 4: We want American values of free speech, of individual liberty,
- 17:21Speaker 4: of respecting the individual. So this executive order, I believe
- 17:24Speaker 4: is a tremendously important Thank you for your leadership, you.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Know, Senator, Just to underscore how important this is and
- 17:32Speaker 2: what you just described there, even Donald Trump on true
- 17:35Speaker 2: Social said The Wall Street Journal has another ridiculous story
- 17:37Speaker 2: today that China's dominating us in the world on the
- 17:41Speaker 2: production of electricity having to do with AI.
- 17:44Speaker 1: They're wrong.
- 17:45Speaker 2: As usual, every AI plant being built in the United
- 17:48Speaker 2: States is building its own electric generating facilities. The approvals
- 17:53Speaker 2: are being given carefully but very quickly a matter of weeks.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Any excess electricity being produced is going to go to
- 18:01Speaker 2: our electric grid, which is being strengthened and expanded for
- 18:04Speaker 2: the purpose for other purposes than AI. Like this is
- 18:09Speaker 2: not just moving forward and protecting us and going to
- 18:12Speaker 2: this race with China. Who's going to be in charge
- 18:15Speaker 2: of it, who's going to be the best at it?
- 18:17Speaker 2: But this is also building American infrastructure and a lot
- 18:20Speaker 2: of American jobs are actually going to be created out
- 18:23Speaker 2: of this as well.
- 18:25Speaker 7: Well.
- 18:25Speaker 4: This is a common sense principle. We should be the
- 18:28Speaker 4: party of jobs.
- 18:30Speaker 3: AI.
- 18:31Speaker 4: It's going to produce disruption, it's part of the reason
- 18:33Speaker 4: people are scared of it, but it's also going to
- 18:36Speaker 4: create millions of jobs. And the simple question we want
- 18:40Speaker 4: to ask is who do we want to win? Do
- 18:43Speaker 4: we want a world where China wins ai AI is coming.
- 18:47Speaker 4: You may not like it, you may be scared about it,
- 18:49Speaker 4: you may not know, And I get it's easy to say. Listen,
- 18:54Speaker 4: I wish nuclear weapons didn't exist. If there were a
- 18:58Speaker 4: button to make every nuclear weapon disappear, I'd push that button.
- 19:02Speaker 4: But they do exist, and if they exist, I want
- 19:05Speaker 4: to make sure America has the best and is able
- 19:08Speaker 4: to deter someone attacking us. AI is similar. And I
- 19:13Speaker 4: got to say President Trump is being bold, he's being visionary.
- 19:17Speaker 4: He understands that if we win or lose this, this
- 19:21Speaker 4: is the economic battle of the twenty first century. And
- 19:25Speaker 4: I was really proud I stood side by side with
- 19:28Speaker 4: Donald Trump saying America is going to win the race
- 19:31Speaker 4: for AI. We're going to beat China. That is massively
- 19:35Speaker 4: important for jobs in America.
- 19:36Speaker 2: As before, if you want to hear the rest of
- 19:38Speaker 2: this conversation on this topic, you can go back and
- 19:41Speaker 2: dow the podcast from earlier this week to hear the
- 19:44Speaker 2: entire thing. I want to get back to the big
- 19:47Speaker 2: story number three of the week you may have missed, Senator.
- 19:50Speaker 2: We've talked a lot about influence, foreign influence, and there
- 19:54Speaker 2: is a lot of people that are like, I don't
- 19:55Speaker 2: understand why it's a big deal that a bunch of
- 19:57Speaker 2: Americans that are conservative in influencers are running to countries
- 20:01Speaker 2: like Qatar, taking trips over there that are being paid
- 20:05Speaker 2: for by them, and putting up what I would describe
- 20:08Speaker 2: as propaganda on social media on behalf of Katar. But
- 20:12Speaker 2: people that see they're like, what's the big deal. Tucker
- 20:14Speaker 2: Carlson shows up, speaks to this Doha forum. Why is
- 20:18Speaker 2: that a big deal? Why should I care? I want
- 20:21Speaker 2: you to explain before we get to Tucker, what Qatar
- 20:25Speaker 2: has been doing to influence America, so people understand who
- 20:29Speaker 2: we're dealing with and why you might want to ask
- 20:32Speaker 2: the question why would you be going there?
- 20:35Speaker 1: I forget Tucker's name.
- 20:37Speaker 2: There are a lot of concerns I know that have
- 20:38Speaker 2: been taking these types of trips recently. They're trying to
- 20:41Speaker 2: buy influence in the conservative movement, and it's frustrating because
- 20:45Speaker 2: I don't think people understand the threat that Qatar is
- 20:49Speaker 2: to this country at all.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Look, Qatar is not our friend.
- 20:54Speaker 4: Qatar is spending hundreds of millions of dollars lobbying the
- 20:58Speaker 4: United States government, spending millions of dollars funding bots. You
- 21:03Speaker 4: look at the anti Semitic content, you look at the
- 21:05Speaker 4: anti American content that is online, Qatar is funding it.
- 21:09Speaker 4: By the way, you look at the anti Semitic protests
- 21:11Speaker 4: on college campuses, Qatar is funding that that. They are
- 21:14Speaker 4: profoundly hostile to American I will tell you there was
- 21:17Speaker 4: a conference this past week in Doha, which is in Qatar.
- 21:21Speaker 4: You had a number of Americans go there. The most
- 21:23Speaker 4: prominent of which was Tucker Carlson. And I want to
- 21:26Speaker 4: tell you. Look, I sent a tweet so Tucker Carlson
- 21:29Speaker 4: was going to interview the Prime Minister of Qatar, and listen.
- 21:33Speaker 4: I have been very vocal that I think Tucker Carlson
- 21:36Speaker 4: has become the most dangerous demagogue in America. I think
- 21:39Speaker 4: he's doing enormous damage. But I try to give him
- 21:41Speaker 4: an opportunity. So here's what I tweeted before his interview.
- 21:44Speaker 3: I said the following.
- 21:46Speaker 4: For years, Tucker Carlson has been accused of being on
- 21:49Speaker 4: the payroll of Qatar.
- 21:52Speaker 3: For years, he has denied it.
- 21:54Speaker 4: This is now a beautiful opportunity for him to try
- 21:58Speaker 4: to clear his name. Tomorrow, Tucker is interviewing the Prime
- 22:02Speaker 4: Minister of Qatar in Doha. Tucker knows how to ask
- 22:06Speaker 4: tough questions. Here are a few he should ask. Number One,
- 22:10Speaker 4: Al Jazeera is a mouthpiece for anti Americanism, anti Semitism,
- 22:15Speaker 4: and Jahadis terrorism. Why does Cutter pour countless tens of
- 22:20Speaker 4: millions into supporting it? Number two, why does Cutter back
- 22:24Speaker 4: the Muslim Brotherhood, a group designated as the terrorist organization
- 22:28Speaker 4: by several of Cutter's neighbors, and which President Trump is
- 22:31Speaker 4: also moving to designate Number three. Hamas planned the October
- 22:36Speaker 4: seventh atrocities while Cutter hosted hamas leadership. This included the
- 22:42Speaker 4: kidnapping and murder of dozens of Americans. Even the Biden
- 22:46Speaker 4: administration wanted Cutter to expel Hamas after hostage talks collapsed.
- 22:52Speaker 4: Why did Cutter keep hosting hamas leadership.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Let's just pause it for one second as you were
- 22:58Speaker 2: tweeting this out, because I don't think we'll understand. And
- 23:00Speaker 2: they were actively hosting these terrorists.
- 23:05Speaker 3: The leaders of a mosque live in Cutter.
- 23:07Speaker 4: They live in opulent mansions, They live like billionaires while
- 23:11Speaker 4: they are murdering not just Israelis, but Americans, while they
- 23:14Speaker 4: are raping not just Israelis but Americans, and Cutter is
- 23:18Speaker 4: embracing them. And they're like like movie stars living and Cutter,
- 23:23Speaker 4: by the way, Number four, speaking of which, on October seventh,
- 23:28Speaker 4: twenty twenty three, Cutter issued a statement saying Israel alone
- 23:33Speaker 4: was responsible for the violence. Then in September of twenty
- 23:37Speaker 4: twenty four, Cutters of Meir said Israel was responsible for
- 23:41Speaker 4: the war expanding to Lebanon.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Is that still Cutter's position.
- 23:45Speaker 4: Number five, Cutter is the only Gulf country that still
- 23:51Speaker 4: maintains male guardianship and travel restrictions for women. When do
- 23:57Speaker 4: you intend to join the civilized world? So if you
- 24:00Speaker 4: actually believe women have rights, that ain't the case?
- 24:02Speaker 3: And Cutters numbers.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Do you mean by that real fast?
- 24:05Speaker 2: So that people understand the context of it, of what
- 24:07Speaker 2: you because it made just sound like okay, what does
- 24:10Speaker 2: that even mean for women? What is life like there?
- 24:12Speaker 2: Explain how that's so far back in the Stone Ages?
- 24:15Speaker 4: Look, the rights of women are severely livered limited and Cutter.
- 24:20Speaker 4: Males are treated as the decision makers. They have control
- 24:23Speaker 4: over their wives, they have control over their daughters, and
- 24:26Speaker 4: the rights of women are are severely diminished and Cutter,
- 24:30Speaker 4: So that's an obvious question to ask of like why
- 24:32Speaker 4: don't you believe women have any rights?
- 24:35Speaker 3: Number six?
- 24:37Speaker 4: How much is Cutter paying to fund anti Semitic protests
- 24:42Speaker 4: on US college campuses? Understand, we saw protests all over America.
- 24:46Speaker 4: Cutter was spending millions of dollars to fund that, and
- 24:49Speaker 4: simple question why Number seven, how much is Cutter paying
- 24:53Speaker 4: to spy on US government officials?
- 24:55Speaker 3: And why? And to be clear, there were multiple news stories.
- 24:58Speaker 4: Cutter hired spies to spy on me because they viewed
- 25:03Speaker 4: me as the US government official most skeptical and antagonistic
- 25:08Speaker 4: of Cutters.
- 25:09Speaker 3: So they're actively spying on me.
- 25:11Speaker 4: And number eight, finally, how much exactly are you paying
- 25:17Speaker 4: conservative influencers to come to this conference and participate? Now,
- 25:22Speaker 4: if Tucker had asked those questions, it would have been
- 25:24Speaker 4: a big deal, like he could actually he had the
- 25:27Speaker 4: Prime minister every one of those questions they don't have
- 25:29Speaker 4: a good answer to. But he didn't ask those questions.
- 25:33Speaker 4: He didn't ask any difficult questions. He did the same
- 25:36Speaker 4: thing he did when he interviewed Putin, which is he
- 25:39Speaker 4: embraced him and kissed his rear end. He did the
- 25:42Speaker 4: same thing when he interviewed the president of Iran, which
- 25:45Speaker 4: is he embraced him and kissed his rear end. Tucker
- 25:48Speaker 4: has a pattern. If you're an enemy of America who
- 25:51Speaker 4: wants to murder Americans, he will not ask you a
- 25:54Speaker 4: single hostile question. I want you to listen to this exchange.
- 25:57Speaker 4: This is a snippet of the back and forth between
- 26:01Speaker 4: Tucker and the Prime Minister of Cutter.
- 26:03Speaker 8: So that last question, I've been personally not to make
- 26:07Speaker 8: it about me, but I have been criticized as being
- 26:09Speaker 8: a tool of Katar, and I just want to say
- 26:13Speaker 8: what you already know, which is I've never taken anything
- 26:15Speaker 8: from your country and don't plan to. I am, however, tomorrow,
- 26:19Speaker 8: buying a place in Qatar, both because I am paying
- 26:23Speaker 8: a HI check in oh Ya, and I'm doing that
- 26:25Speaker 8: because I like the city. I think it's beautiful, but
- 26:28Speaker 8: also to make a statement that I'm an American and
- 26:30Speaker 8: a freeman and I'll be wherever I want to be, which.
- 26:33Speaker 1: I think is important.
- 26:35Speaker 8: But that does kind of leave us in a place
- 26:37Speaker 8: where I have not taken any money from Qatar. I
- 26:42Speaker 8: have instead given money to Qatar, and I wonder if
- 26:46Speaker 8: you feel that that means I've bought you and you
- 26:49Speaker 8: will now spew my propaganda.
- 26:50Speaker 7: Thank you just asking me what if you want me
- 26:52Speaker 7: to do for you, I will do it. But look, Tucker, Unfortunately,
- 26:58Speaker 7: as I told you, that, there are a lot of
- 27:01Speaker 7: players putting a lot of efforts to sabotage the relationship
- 27:06Speaker 7: between Cutter and the United States and to try to
- 27:10Speaker 7: dominize anyone who will come to this country. Our efforts
- 27:15Speaker 7: when we are lobbying or.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Doing.
- 27:19Speaker 7: You know, our outreach in the United States is to
- 27:22Speaker 7: make sure that this relationship is safeguarded and the relationship
- 27:26Speaker 7: for US is mutually beneficial. We are not getting it
- 27:31Speaker 7: from the United States, it's we are. Instead, we are
- 27:35Speaker 7: buying from the United States. We are partnering with them.
- 27:38Speaker 7: We are investing in the United States, United States investing
- 27:41Speaker 7: and cutter. And this relationship has been always a two
- 27:45Speaker 7: ways relationship. And we pay all these amounts for lobbying
- 27:50Speaker 7: only to protect and to safeguard this relationship. If we
- 27:53Speaker 7: are we are not like being attacked and under a
- 27:58Speaker 7: lot of like this information campaign that's been unfortunately funded
- 28:03Speaker 7: by other players who doesn't want to see a US
- 28:06Speaker 7: ratter relationship flourish. We wouldn't, We would spend this money
- 28:13Speaker 7: for better things, you know, to do with with the relationship.
- 28:17Speaker 2: I mean, you look at that question center and it's
- 28:20Speaker 2: one of those that just you scratch your head because
- 28:23Speaker 2: there's just part of this You're like, wait, what did
- 28:25Speaker 2: what did I just witness?
- 28:27Speaker 1: What did I just watch? There? Like how is this real?
- 28:32Speaker 2: And the idea of like I'm buying a place have
- 28:34Speaker 2: never taken anything. I just like it here it shows
- 28:37Speaker 2: I'm a free man. Didn't ask any questions, not a
- 28:40Speaker 2: single tough question of a man that is allowing terrorists
- 28:43Speaker 2: to sit in his country and to orchestrate more tears
- 28:46Speaker 2: texts that have killed Americans.
- 28:48Speaker 4: So understand this government that is hosting Hamas, that is
- 28:52Speaker 4: celebrating Hamas, that is funding anti American propaganda and anti
- 28:56Speaker 4: Israel propaganda and anti Semitic propaganda. He's the ourrime minister,
- 29:00Speaker 4: says to Tucker, Ask me whatever you want, We will
- 29:03Speaker 4: do anything you want. He also says to Tucker, we
- 29:06Speaker 4: are spending vast amounts and lobbying.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Understand.
- 29:08Speaker 4: Cutter spends hundreds of millions of dollars lobbying the United
- 29:12Speaker 4: States government, the United States Congress. By the way, Tucker
- 29:15Speaker 4: is obsessed with APAC because he's decided that Jews are
- 29:18Speaker 4: the source.
- 29:18Speaker 3: Of all evil in the world.
- 29:20Speaker 4: And Cutter pays two to three times as much as
- 29:25Speaker 4: APAC does in lobbying.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Do you know who APAC is.
- 29:28Speaker 4: APACK are Americans that it is not the government of Israel.
- 29:32Speaker 4: APAK are Americans who want American Israel to have a
- 29:36Speaker 4: close relationship. And so American citizens, many of whom happen
- 29:39Speaker 4: to be Jewish. Although not all of them, who support
- 29:42Speaker 4: a lot of actually Christian evangelicals also who support a
- 29:45Speaker 4: strong relationship between the United States and Israel. They do
- 29:48Speaker 4: write checks, but they write checks that that are on
- 29:52Speaker 4: order of magnitude anywhere from a third to a half
- 29:55Speaker 4: what Cutter, the foreign government writes they spend hundreds of
- 29:58Speaker 4: millions of dollars lobbying our government. And I got to say, Tucker,
- 30:03Speaker 4: Tucker claims to be America first, he is.
- 30:06Speaker 3: Literally buying a home in Cutter.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Cutter who is actively funding anti American propaganda, anti Semitic propaganda.
- 30:16Speaker 4: And by the way, Tucker says, oh, I've never taken
- 30:18Speaker 4: a penny from you. By the way, you know, I
- 30:20Speaker 4: don't know what kind of sweetheart real estate deal he's getting.
- 30:23Speaker 4: But who the heck what American? Let me ask you, Ben,
- 30:26Speaker 4: you know a lot of people. Do you know any
- 30:29Speaker 4: other American who wants to buy a home and Cutter.
- 30:32Speaker 2: No, I've In fact, I've known a lot of international people.
- 30:35Speaker 2: I've never heard of anybody going, yeah, I'm head, never
- 30:37Speaker 2: to cut her to go buy a home. Never, not like,
- 30:39Speaker 2: not one time, no one. And I know people outside
- 30:42Speaker 2: the US, they've never said that.
- 30:44Speaker 4: Look, I and I think there's a reason for it,
- 30:47Speaker 4: which is that I don't know why. I've had conversations
- 30:50Speaker 4: about why Tucker has decided by the way, Tucker is
- 30:54Speaker 4: actively attacking President Trump's foreign policy. He is furious that
- 30:58Speaker 4: President Trump decided to bomb the Iranian nuclear facilities, and
- 31:02Speaker 4: even more mad that that bombing was incredibly successful. It
- 31:07Speaker 4: was the single most important foreign policy and national security
- 31:11Speaker 4: decision that President Trump has made in the second term.
- 31:14Speaker 2: And Tucker thinking start War three, which I'm pretty sure
- 31:17Speaker 2: that's what they said was going to happen.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Isn't that right? It was going to start World War three?
- 31:20Speaker 4: So let's be clear, it's not they Tucker predicted if
- 31:23Speaker 4: Trump bombed Uran. Yes, he said it would cause World
- 31:27Speaker 4: War three, number one. He said thousands of Americans would die,
- 31:31Speaker 4: number two. And he said America would lose, Iran would
- 31:35Speaker 4: beat us in.
- 31:36Speaker 3: World War three.
- 31:37Speaker 4: Now, every one of those predictions was laughably absurdly wrong.
- 31:43Speaker 4: And yet Tucker is now buying a home and cut
- 31:47Speaker 4: her and saying, hey, you crazy theocratic Islamist America, hating radicals,
- 31:55Speaker 4: you're my people. That is really, really, really dangerous.
- 31:59Speaker 2: Yeah, the questions that we just asked there, I really
- 32:01Speaker 2: hope that all of you will share those on social media,
- 32:05Speaker 2: Share the episode on social media, share the video we
- 32:08Speaker 2: put up on Facebook.
- 32:09Speaker 1: We put it up on.
- 32:10Speaker 4: And Ben, let me ask you a question, Let me
- 32:12Speaker 4: ask a questions. Why do you think Tucker didn't ask
- 32:15Speaker 4: a single one.
- 32:16Speaker 3: Of the questions I suggested?
- 32:18Speaker 4: I sent eight, and they were not ridiculous questions.
- 32:21Speaker 3: They were actually questioned.
- 32:22Speaker 4: If you were in fact America first, and you're interviewing
- 32:26Speaker 4: the leader of this country that that that that is
- 32:29Speaker 4: funding things that are profoundly anti American, anybody would ask
- 32:34Speaker 4: if you and I were interviewing them, we would.
- 32:36Speaker 3: Ask those questions. Why do you think Tucker didn't.
- 32:39Speaker 2: I think it's the same reason why he gave a
- 32:41Speaker 2: powderpuff interview with Vladimir Putin. I think it's the same
- 32:44Speaker 2: reason why he was sitting down with the head of Iran.
- 32:48Speaker 2: It is because when he goes there, he knows the
- 32:50Speaker 2: role he's playing, which is a propagandist for those countries.
- 32:55Speaker 4: I wish that were not the case, but I can't
- 32:58Speaker 4: argue against that. He does not ask ask a single
- 33:01Speaker 4: question defending America. Instead, he just embraces leaders that that
- 33:06Speaker 4: that that are doing enormous damage to Americans, and and
- 33:10Speaker 4: and and and that, by the way, is I think
- 33:12Speaker 4: significantly undermining President Trump as.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Well as always thank you for listening to Verdict with Center,
