- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:01Speaker 2: It is Verdict with Center, Ted Cruz Weekend Review, Ben
- 0:05Speaker 2: Ferguson with you, and these are the big stories that
- 0:07Speaker 2: you may have missed that we talked about this past week.
- 0:11Speaker 2: First up, Joe Biden is demanding that the bob wire
- 0:15Speaker 2: in Texas come down. The problem is many in the
- 0:17Speaker 2: federal government aren't exactly listening to the president's demands. Will
- 0:22Speaker 2: this be a serious standoff between the state of Texas
- 0:25Speaker 2: and the federal government? And if Joe Biden tells him
- 0:28Speaker 2: to push further, will the federal government actually do it
- 0:31Speaker 2: on his behalf. We'll explain the details and the legality
- 0:34Speaker 2: of that in just a moment. Also, Joe Biden is
- 0:38Speaker 2: now sanctioning Texas.
- 0:40Speaker 1: That's right.
- 0:40Speaker 2: For the first time in history, a US president is
- 0:43Speaker 2: attacking another state, trying to get them to bow to
- 0:47Speaker 2: his demands over the issue of an open border. And
- 0:51Speaker 2: now it's affecting liquefied natural gas exports, and it's enriching
- 0:56Speaker 2: Russia and China and finally, so much any of you
- 1:00Speaker 2: have asked, how can we help the people in Israel
- 1:04Speaker 2: after the war that has broken out. We have a
- 1:06Speaker 2: special live look in Israel from one of our guests,
- 1:10Speaker 2: it is the weekend review and it starts right now.
- 1:14Speaker 2: The word they use this week on TV was insurrection,
- 1:17Speaker 2: and Griff Jenkins Fox News put out this tweet talking
- 1:20Speaker 2: about what you were just mentioning, take a look at this, guys,
- 1:22Speaker 2: because this is a very interesting scenario.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Here.
- 1:25Speaker 2: It says a senior CBP official tells Fox the relationship
- 1:28Speaker 2: between Border Patrol, Texas DPS and the TMD remains strong.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Bottom line, Border Patrol has no plans to remove infrastructure
- 1:37Speaker 2: see wire placed by Texas along the border. Our posture
- 1:40Speaker 2: remains the same. So there were people on TV saying,
- 1:43Speaker 2: if this is true, this is like an insurrection. I
- 1:47Speaker 2: think that's absurd. But if you have federal government officials
- 1:50Speaker 2: that aren't listening to the quote orders of the Biden
- 1:53Speaker 2: administration and saying we're not going to do this, what
- 1:56Speaker 2: does that mean?
- 1:57Speaker 3: Well, look, and mind you, the same people who are
- 1:59Speaker 3: saying this, So the democrats elected Democrats and the lefties
- 2:03Speaker 3: in the press who praised, for example, people in the
- 2:07Speaker 3: military under Trump who they said, well they won't follow
- 2:10Speaker 3: his orders, they will resist his orders. Mind you, in
- 2:13Speaker 3: this instance, look, I know the Border Patrol agents, many
- 2:15Speaker 3: of them very very well, I spent a lot of
- 2:17Speaker 3: time with him. They are horrified at what Joe Biden
- 2:20Speaker 3: is doing. They're watching the body bags, the death, the suffering,
- 2:24Speaker 3: the children who were assaulted, the women who were raped.
- 2:27Speaker 3: They're seeing it on a daily basis, and it is Look,
- 2:31Speaker 3: at some level, if you have a president who is
- 2:34Speaker 3: so utterly out of touch that he wages war on
- 2:40Speaker 3: the law, that he's defying the law, that he is
- 2:44Speaker 3: instructing him go destroy go use my example, go bomb,
- 2:47Speaker 3: go bomb the walls, you would expect some federal officials
- 2:51Speaker 3: to say, hold on, you have no legal authority to
- 2:52Speaker 3: do this. This is just an abuse of power. And
- 2:57Speaker 3: look our system. We are pushing to the edges of
- 3:02Speaker 3: a constitutional crisis because we have a president who is
- 3:06Speaker 3: so utterly lawless that he puts his partisan political agenda
- 3:12Speaker 3: above the rule of law, above federal immigration law, above
- 3:15Speaker 3: the Constitution, above people's welfare, above protecting the lives of Texans,
- 3:21Speaker 3: and it is all politics, all the time with the
- 3:23Speaker 3: Biden Whitehouse, I.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Got to ask you, you just said something that is
- 3:26Speaker 2: very interesting, and that was about a constitutional crisis. Texas
- 3:30Speaker 2: isn't having to do this alone. Thank goodness, You've got
- 3:32Speaker 2: I think it's twenty five different states now that have
- 3:34Speaker 2: come to the aid of Texas fighting for states rights,
- 3:37Speaker 2: saying you have a right to defend your state.
- 3:39Speaker 3: And it is powerful governor after governor after governor saying
- 3:41Speaker 3: we stand with Texas, we stand with Texas, we stand
- 3:43Speaker 3: with Texas. And Joe Biden is trying to say to
- 3:47Speaker 3: the states, I don't care, I want your state to
- 3:50Speaker 3: be invaded. I want the law to be ignored because
- 3:54Speaker 3: my partisan politics matter more than your obligation to protect
- 3:57Speaker 3: the safety of your citizens.
- 3:59Speaker 1: So explain the rules.
- 4:01Speaker 2: And this is I think a very important point because
- 4:03Speaker 2: it's gonna come up.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Obviously.
- 4:05Speaker 2: You have some states are sitting, for example, state troopers
- 4:08Speaker 2: to the state. Who is that under state authority? Is
- 4:11Speaker 2: that federal? If you're clashing, right, if you're temperate, And
- 4:14Speaker 2: then and then the second part is the National Guard
- 4:17Speaker 2: can work in two different scenarios, one for the governor
- 4:21Speaker 2: and then all of a sudden, the federal government can
- 4:23Speaker 2: come in. And that's been a big fight over the
- 4:25Speaker 2: last several days of what if he nationalizes the federal
- 4:28Speaker 2: you know these guardsmen, how does that play out? And
- 4:32Speaker 2: explain how it works If there's two different people that
- 4:34Speaker 2: are your boss, who do you decide with?
- 4:36Speaker 3: So ordinarily, the National Guard is under the direction of
- 4:39Speaker 3: the governors.
- 4:40Speaker 1: And the national Guard of each state is under that
- 4:42Speaker 1: governor of that state.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Now, under federal law, the president has the authority to
- 4:46Speaker 3: call up to nationalize the National Guard and put it
- 4:50Speaker 3: under the direction of the federal government. And a bunch
- 4:54Speaker 3: of folks on the left are demanding that Biden do
- 4:56Speaker 3: that in Texas. I don't think think he will that.
- 5:01Speaker 3: The clip we played of Greg Abbott, what he was
- 5:03Speaker 3: responding to, was the claim what happens if he tries
- 5:05Speaker 3: to nationalize the Guard? I don't think Biden will do
- 5:08Speaker 3: that because it has a risk of backfiring if he did.
- 5:12Speaker 3: I'm not sure what will happen. But what he cannot
- 5:14Speaker 3: nationalize is DPS troopers. He cannot nationalize the state law enforcement.
- 5:21Speaker 2: And so even example is Florida sent a lot of
- 5:24Speaker 2: state troopers right to Texas this past week there was
- 5:27Speaker 2: a caravan coming up.
- 5:28Speaker 1: He could have no control over them, none whatsoever.
- 5:31Speaker 3: The federal government does not have the ability to nationalize
- 5:34Speaker 3: state law enforcement. So conceivably Biden could try to nationalize
- 5:38Speaker 3: the National Guard, and at that point assuming the Guard
- 5:41Speaker 3: complies with those orders, and they're not challenged in court,
- 5:45Speaker 3: they're not struck down. Assuming the Guard complies with those orders.
- 5:48Speaker 3: It's no different than Biden's sending in the army. It
- 5:51Speaker 3: is federal military, but there are still state officials and
- 5:55Speaker 3: the potential for clashes. Now, do I think you're going
- 5:58Speaker 3: to see state and federal officials shooting each other? No?
- 6:03Speaker 1: I do think.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Look, you've got crazies on the left that are pushing
- 6:07Speaker 3: you know. Might you see Biden try to order order
- 6:11Speaker 3: federal officials to arrest state officials?
- 6:14Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 6:14Speaker 3: I think that's possible, and we are starting to get
- 6:17Speaker 3: into very uncharted territory.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Who can be arrest in that scenario is that the
- 6:21Speaker 2: governor on down the governor there.
- 6:23Speaker 1: You're talking about like a guy at the border.
- 6:24Speaker 2: He's saying I'm not going to take down that razor
- 6:26Speaker 2: wire and they say, okay, arrest him or who's laying
- 6:30Speaker 2: razor wire for example.
- 6:31Speaker 3: And I don't think that's gonna happen. But Joe Biden
- 6:34Speaker 3: is listening to the radicals, the extreme in his party,
- 6:37Speaker 3: and he keeps escalating and escalating and escalating, and it's dangerous.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Just like Joe Biden is endangering American lives abroad, and
- 6:48Speaker 3: we saw three servicemen and women murdered this weekend by
- 6:52Speaker 3: Iranian proxies because of Joe Biden's lawlessness at the and
- 6:57Speaker 3: support of genocidal killers. At the same time, Joe Biden
- 7:04Speaker 3: is endangering Americans here because of his lawlessness and support
- 7:08Speaker 3: for holicidal killers that are human traffickers and drug traffickers.
- 7:12Speaker 3: In both instances, it is because this Biden White House
- 7:16Speaker 3: puts politics above the safety and security of Americans. And
- 7:20Speaker 3: the question every Democrat is going to have to answer,
- 7:22Speaker 3: every Democrat senator, every Democrat House member, do you stand
- 7:25Speaker 3: with the lawlessness and the extreme agenda of the Biden
- 7:28Speaker 3: White House or do you stand with the safety of
- 7:30Speaker 3: the American people? And at least to date, just about
- 7:33Speaker 3: every elected Democrat in the country puts politics above safety.
- 7:37Speaker 3: And that's what makes where we are right now so
- 7:39Speaker 3: extreme and so dangerous.
- 7:41Speaker 2: You just said two words, so extreme and so dangerous.
- 7:44Speaker 2: I do want to remind people. Wasn't this administration that
- 7:48Speaker 2: said that the adults are finally back in charge, so
- 7:50Speaker 2: we will have none of these issues. I just want
- 7:53Speaker 2: to remind everybody this is what they said about their own.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Team has any connection to reality about what is going
- 8:01Speaker 4: on around them. Should have watched that and said, the
- 8:04Speaker 4: adults are back in the room.
- 8:06Speaker 3: It seems as though we have a professional adult once
- 8:10Speaker 3: again in the White House who's just simply doing the work.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Really, the theme I would say is the adults are back.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Still.
- 8:17Speaker 4: It is a relief to have adults in charge.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Now we have adults in the White House.
- 8:22Speaker 5: Okay, the adults are back in the room.
- 8:25Speaker 4: There is a sense, I think the world over that
- 8:28Speaker 4: the adults have returned.
- 8:29Speaker 2: We have an adult in the White House now, and
- 8:32Speaker 2: it's glorious.
- 8:34Speaker 1: This is what adulting looks like. I'll take a kid
- 8:36Speaker 1: in charge at this point.
- 8:38Speaker 2: God bless so.
- 8:40Speaker 3: We actually and the irony is every word of that
- 8:42Speaker 3: is a lie number. Well, look, Joe Biden is a
- 8:44Speaker 3: senior citizen, and he may be so adult that he's
- 8:48Speaker 3: not aware of what's happening. But I'll tell you the
- 8:51Speaker 3: agenda has been extreme and dangerous, and you look at
- 8:56Speaker 3: things like the withdrawal from Afghanistan incompetent, naive, ideological. It
- 9:04Speaker 3: is the opposite of adult leadership. Adult leadership focuses on
- 9:07Speaker 3: let's follow the law. Adult leadership focuses on we've got
- 9:10Speaker 3: a test to do. Adult leadership focuses on let's keep
- 9:12Speaker 3: people safe. Adult leadership focuses on what's an American interest?
- 9:16Speaker 3: Adult leadership focuses on how do we stop bad guys
- 9:19Speaker 3: from hurting us? Everything Joe Biden and the Democrats have
- 9:22Speaker 3: done is the opposite of adult leadership. It is naive,
- 9:25Speaker 3: it is dangerous, it is extreme, and the country is
- 9:28Speaker 3: a lot less safe as a result.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 9:32Speaker 2: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 9:34Speaker 2: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two. I
- 9:38Speaker 2: want to move also to another important issue, and this
- 9:42Speaker 2: is one that's starting to pick up some steam here.
- 9:45Speaker 2: It deals with liquid natural gas and these ports that
- 9:49Speaker 2: have basically been stopped out of nowhere. And the alibi
- 9:54Speaker 2: for the Biden White House says, we met shocking enough
- 9:57Speaker 2: with a twenty five year old TikToker that really explained
- 10:01Speaker 2: to us the environmental problems. So we're going to study
- 10:05Speaker 2: the environmental problems with liquifinancial gas, and it may take
- 10:09Speaker 2: over a year, it will certainly be after the election.
- 10:12Speaker 2: If we were to turn these back on it's going
- 10:14Speaker 2: to have a massive impact on Texas. But the timing
- 10:18Speaker 2: of it center is the part that's so suspect. It
- 10:20Speaker 2: was right after Texas and the Supreme Court ruling came
- 10:24Speaker 2: down that said that, hey, the federal government can get
- 10:28Speaker 2: through your razor wire.
- 10:29Speaker 1: The ruling also, as we.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Talked about extensively on the show, it didn't say you
- 10:33Speaker 2: had to stop putting down razor wire, and it didn't
- 10:34Speaker 2: say to Texas you had to pick it up. And
- 10:36Speaker 2: it was almost like the White House said, Okay, well,
- 10:39Speaker 2: if you're going to mess with us, and then twenty
- 10:42Speaker 2: five other governors got involved and said, hey, we're going
- 10:44Speaker 2: to send troopers at state troopers and our guardsmen, National
- 10:49Speaker 2: Guardsmen to help in Texas. Wasn't a shout across about
- 10:53Speaker 2: Texas with US out of nowhere plan of theirs that
- 10:56Speaker 2: was like, hey, we're basically going to put sanctions on
- 10:58Speaker 2: you guys because you need to get line in any
- 11:00Speaker 2: other state that's helping you, you could be next.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Yes, yes, and yes. So what happened was last week
- 11:07Speaker 3: the Biden administration announced that it was halting new permits
- 11:13Speaker 3: for the export of liquid natural gas and for export
- 11:16Speaker 3: terminal projects to export liquid natural gas. Now what does
- 11:20Speaker 3: that mean? It means three things. Number One, what Joe
- 11:23Speaker 3: Biden did is effectively sanctioned the state of Texas. This
- 11:27Speaker 3: is declaring war on Texas. And I think you're exactly right.
- 11:30Speaker 3: He did it because he's pissed off that Texas is
- 11:32Speaker 3: standing up to the Biden administration on the border, is
- 11:36Speaker 3: fighting to secure the border. And he said, all right,
- 11:38Speaker 3: if you're going to stand up and fight us, we're
- 11:40Speaker 3: going to attack you and try to destroy jobs in
- 11:42Speaker 3: the state of Texas. This was very deliberate a sanction
- 11:45Speaker 3: on the great state of Texas. Number Two, this is
- 11:48Speaker 3: a fine on American families. Joe Biden said, hardworking families.
- 11:54Speaker 3: I don't care about Americans. I'm going to punish you
- 11:57Speaker 3: by driving up energy costs. Number Three, this announcement is
- 12:03Speaker 3: a subsidy for Vladimir Putin. Understand This announcement is Joe
- 12:08Speaker 3: Biden saying, I am going to give billions of dollars
- 12:12Speaker 3: to Putin and Russia. Why because look, our allies, Europe, Asia,
- 12:19Speaker 3: they need natural gas. Natural gas it's produced in a
- 12:23Speaker 3: gases form and then it's liquefied to be transported typically
- 12:29Speaker 3: on ships. Natural gas is incredibly important for heating for
- 12:34Speaker 3: power for all of the world, and Europe imports a
- 12:39Speaker 3: ton of natural gas. Asia imports a ton of natural gas.
- 12:43Speaker 3: The largest producer of natural gas in the world is
- 12:46Speaker 3: the United States of America. Now Russia is a massive
- 12:51Speaker 3: producer of natural gas as well. When Joe Biden says
- 12:56Speaker 3: we're going to halt new export terminals for natural gas,
- 13:00Speaker 3: he is handing a gift to Vladimir Pudin. Because the
- 13:04Speaker 3: Europeans are not going to suddenly not heat their homes.
- 13:07Speaker 3: They're not gonna say, Okay, we're gonna freeze to death
- 13:10Speaker 3: because Joe Biden's mad. No, They're going to get the
- 13:14Speaker 3: gas somewhere, and if they don't get it from the US,
- 13:17Speaker 3: they're much much more likely to get it from Russia.
- 13:19Speaker 3: So this is a gift to Russia. And here's the
- 13:23Speaker 3: final amazing thing. You know what this decision also does.
- 13:26Speaker 3: What is that hurts the environment?
- 13:30Speaker 2: Explain it, because this is the amo that everybody listening needs.
- 13:33Speaker 3: It is critically important. And I'll say twofold number one.
- 13:37Speaker 3: US natural gas is produced much much more cleanly than
- 13:45Speaker 3: natural gas virtually anywhere else on Earth, much much more
- 13:48Speaker 3: cleanly than Russian natural gas. So if you want less
- 13:52Speaker 3: pollution in the air, if you want less carbon in
- 13:55Speaker 3: the air, you want to consume US natural gas because
- 13:58Speaker 3: we have significant environmental protections on how we produce it
- 14:02Speaker 3: here there they don't. So what Joe Biden is saying is, hey,
- 14:06Speaker 3: let's rely more on the Russians. Let's have them produce
- 14:08Speaker 3: more gas. Let's have them pollute the environment even more.
- 14:11Speaker 3: And by the way, if you notice the atmosphere, it
- 14:14Speaker 3: doesn't stop at a country's border, like the atmosphere goes
- 14:17Speaker 3: all around the planet. So do you know who the
- 14:20Speaker 3: biggest polluter on the face of the planet is.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I'm going to go with either China or Russia. That's
- 14:26Speaker 1: my best guess.
- 14:26Speaker 3: When it comes to this, China, by a huge order
- 14:29Speaker 3: of magnitude, China is massively the biggest polluter on the
- 14:33Speaker 3: face of the planet. China is also building more coal
- 14:37Speaker 3: plants right now than the United States has in the
- 14:42Speaker 3: entirety of our country. They're building new coal plants that
- 14:45Speaker 3: exceed the total coal plants in America. Now, why does
- 14:49Speaker 3: that matter? If you care about the environment, if you
- 14:52Speaker 3: care about pollution, if you care about carbon, which country
- 14:56Speaker 3: year after year after year has led the world in
- 14:59Speaker 3: reduction carbon emissions.
- 15:02Speaker 2: America. Why because, well, I think when we have tons
- 15:06Speaker 2: of regulation, do we actually care about the environment.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Both true, but that's not Neither of those are Why
- 15:13Speaker 3: what is it?
- 15:14Speaker 5: Then?
- 15:15Speaker 3: The biggest reason is the wide scale substitution of natural
- 15:20Speaker 3: gas for coal and electricity production. So you want to
- 15:24Speaker 3: talk about what really pollutes the hell out of the environment,
- 15:28Speaker 3: it's burning coal in power plants to turn on electricity.
- 15:32Speaker 3: You know, it's interesting. A lot of liberals they think,
- 15:34Speaker 3: you know, they think, oh, I've got an electric car,
- 15:36Speaker 3: I've got I've got a fancy electric car. Isn't that great?
- 15:39Speaker 3: And it never occurs to them. Where does that electricity
- 15:41Speaker 3: come from? Well, like, well, it comes from the wall.
- 15:43Speaker 3: I plug it in and it just magically spews from
- 15:45Speaker 3: the wall.
- 15:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Well, well no, that electricity has to be generated, has
- 15:50Speaker 3: to be generated in a power plant. Now how is
- 15:52Speaker 3: it generated? For years, the predominant method of generating electricity
- 15:57Speaker 3: was burning coal. The United States has a ton of coal.
- 16:01Speaker 3: We're essentially the Saudi Arabia of coal. The problem is
- 16:04Speaker 3: when you burn coal, it pollutes a lot and it
- 16:09Speaker 3: emits a ton of carbon. Now what we have seen
- 16:12Speaker 3: in the last decade because of the shale revolution, so
- 16:16Speaker 3: the shale revolution shale, and it's also the fracking revolution.
- 16:20Speaker 3: We have unlocked massive reserves of natural gas. And what
- 16:24Speaker 3: that has done in the United States is we have
- 16:27Speaker 3: seen tons of coal electricity plants shutting down and being
- 16:35Speaker 3: replaced with natural gas electricity plants. Why does that matter
- 16:40Speaker 3: because a natural gas electricity plant emits much much much
- 16:45Speaker 3: less pollution than a coal plant, and it emits much
- 16:50Speaker 3: much much less carbon than a coal plant. And that
- 16:54Speaker 3: is why America leads the world in carbon reductions. At
- 16:58Speaker 3: the same time we're doing this, China is building coal
- 17:02Speaker 3: plants like crazy. And so when Joe Biden steps in
- 17:06Speaker 3: and says we want to stop America from selling natural
- 17:10Speaker 3: gas to the world, he is a saying, by your
- 17:14Speaker 3: natural gas from Russia, from Iran, from Venezuela, from enemies
- 17:18Speaker 3: of America run by dictators who are very dangerous number one.
- 17:22Speaker 3: But number two, he's also saying, producer electricity from coal,
- 17:28Speaker 3: which pollutes the environment much much more. Understand if all
- 17:33Speaker 3: you cared about was the environment, Joe Biden's announcement this
- 17:37Speaker 3: past week was horrible for the environment, and he did it.
- 17:41Speaker 3: I think you're exactly right as a petulant attack on Texas.
- 17:45Speaker 3: He's mad that Texas is fighting to secure the border,
- 17:48Speaker 3: and he said, all right, I'm going to destroy jobs
- 17:50Speaker 3: in the great state of Texas.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Last question on this. And I think it's interesting to
- 17:54Speaker 2: see that this could backfire in a big way. The
- 17:58Speaker 2: Washington Post, the liberal, hardcore socialist Washington Post, put out
- 18:03Speaker 2: an opinion piece by the editorial board saying Biden's it's
- 18:06Speaker 2: their headline, Biden's liquid natural gas decision is a win
- 18:10Speaker 2: for political symbolism, not the climate. They're even calling him
- 18:17Speaker 2: out for. This was petty and obviously a decision made
- 18:19Speaker 2: to hurt Texas and that can cost seventy thousand Americans
- 18:23Speaker 2: or jobs, and doing it for these other reasons, and
- 18:26Speaker 2: by the way, saying it's not about the climate, No.
- 18:29Speaker 3: That's exactly right. Here's what the Washington Post editorial board said.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Quote on Friday. However, that same Biden administration ordered a
- 18:37Speaker 3: de facto halt to the approval of new facilities for
- 18:40Speaker 3: exporting the resources to countries with which the United States
- 18:43Speaker 3: does not have free trade agreements, a category that includes
- 18:48Speaker 3: all of Europe. So, by the way, this is also
- 18:50Speaker 3: a sanction on Europe. It's an election year sop to
- 18:54Speaker 3: climate activists that will do much more to unsettle vital
- 18:59Speaker 3: US alliances then to save the planet. That's a quote
- 19:03Speaker 3: from the Washington Post. That's how far out of the
- 19:09Speaker 3: bounds of reasonableness when your two left wing for the
- 19:12Speaker 3: Washington Post. Well, that's got to be the Biden administration.
- 19:16Speaker 1: As before.
- 19:17Speaker 2: If you want to hear the rest of this conversation
- 19:19Speaker 2: on this topic, you can go back and dow the
- 19:22Speaker 2: podcasts from earlier this week to hear the entire thing.
- 19:25Speaker 2: I want to get back to the big story, number
- 19:28Speaker 2: three of the week. You may have missed.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Senator.
- 19:30Speaker 2: You and I have talked so much about what is
- 19:32Speaker 2: happening in Israel. And look, there's a lot of other
- 19:35Speaker 2: issues that obviously are happening in the news, other things
- 19:38Speaker 2: that are happening in this administration and policies in Iran.
- 19:42Speaker 2: But I do want to pause and you and I
- 19:44Speaker 2: talked about this and go back. Joining us now as
- 19:47Speaker 2: a guest, Yell ex Stein is the president and the
- 19:49Speaker 2: CEO of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, doing
- 19:53Speaker 2: amazing work on the ground, especially with those that were
- 19:57Speaker 2: affected by the horrific attacks in Israel. First of all,
- 20:00Speaker 2: thank you for coming on. We really appreciate it and
- 20:03Speaker 2: the work you're doing. You're in Israel right.
- 20:05Speaker 5: Now, correct, Thank you so much for having me. What
- 20:08Speaker 5: an honor.
- 20:09Speaker 3: Yeah, welcome, We're very glad to have you on Verdict.
- 20:12Speaker 3: And tell us where in Israel are we talking to you?
- 20:16Speaker 5: So I'm in central northern Israel where we've had a
- 20:19Speaker 5: few rockets from Hamas come in. I've been in the
- 20:23Speaker 5: bomb shelter both with my children and also with different
- 20:26Speaker 5: senators from America. Governor Kakabi. I was in the bomb
- 20:29Speaker 5: shelter with him in Tel Aviv. And the biggest threat
- 20:32Speaker 5: right now in northern Nidral is actually Frezzalah, which would
- 20:35Speaker 5: make the war come with Kamas feel like something small.
- 20:42Speaker 5: So here in northern Nigel we're very on edge that
- 20:45Speaker 5: a huge figure war with the Hadalah would break out,
- 20:49Speaker 5: which would see around one hundred and fifty thousand rockets
- 20:52Speaker 5: on tiny Israel.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Tell us what is the spirit? What is the morale
- 20:57Speaker 3: that people are feeling in Israel with obviously in the
- 21:01Speaker 3: wake of October seventh and the horrors that unfolded then
- 21:04Speaker 3: and now several months of active warfare. How are people
- 21:08Speaker 3: doing on the ground in Israel.
- 21:10Speaker 5: Israel is resilient. Israel has always been resilient. We've never
- 21:14Speaker 5: lost sight that. Since nineteen forty eight we've been in
- 21:16Speaker 5: a fight for our survival and there's no other country
- 21:20Speaker 5: to go to. There are twenty two Arab states with
- 21:23Speaker 5: a population of four hundred and forty million people living there,
- 21:27Speaker 5: and there's one Jewish state with population around seven point
- 21:30Speaker 5: five million Jews. So no one in Israel has lost
- 21:33Speaker 5: sight of that. And we are all unified and resilient
- 21:36Speaker 5: and finding moments of hope and moments of movements of
- 21:41Speaker 5: peace and comfort as well that we're together and that
- 21:43Speaker 5: God is with us, and that we see how there
- 21:46Speaker 5: are hundreds of millions of mostly Christian friends around the
- 21:50Speaker 5: world who are standing with us as well. I just
- 21:52Speaker 5: saw an estimate that there's around seven hundred million Christians
- 21:55Speaker 5: around the world who are praying for Israel. So I
- 21:58Speaker 5: think what's in a way most difficult for Israel right
- 22:01Speaker 5: now and the people is to see how anti Semitism
- 22:05Speaker 5: is rising again, to see how once again the world
- 22:09Speaker 5: is questioning if the Jewish people should have a right
- 22:13Speaker 5: to exist being okay with Israel and the Jewish people's annihilation.
- 22:18Speaker 5: So I want to start off, I think thank you
- 22:20Speaker 5: to you in a world that is lacking such moral clarity. You,
- 22:25Speaker 5: since October seventh and before have been providing such a
- 22:29Speaker 5: moral compass to all of your listeners, all of your followers,
- 22:32Speaker 5: which especially day so unique and sacred and what everyone
- 22:36Speaker 5: here in Israel is just appreciative for.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Well, yeah, yell, thank you. I will tell you we
- 22:42Speaker 3: are proud to stand with the people of Israel. October
- 22:46Speaker 3: seventh made clear to the world, to anyone paying attention,
- 22:50Speaker 3: that this is a battle between civilization and barbarism, and
- 22:54Speaker 3: this is Israel standing against the face of evil. And
- 22:58Speaker 3: I'll tell you, Heidi and I are family. We are
- 23:00Speaker 3: praying for the people of Israel. The people of America
- 23:03Speaker 3: stand with you. And as horrific as what happened on
- 23:08Speaker 3: October seventh was, I believe there are at least two
- 23:12Speaker 3: good things that will come of this. Number One, Israel
- 23:16Speaker 3: stated commitment to utterly eliminate Hamas if and when that happens,
- 23:23Speaker 3: and I think we've made real and meaningful progress towards that.
- 23:26Speaker 3: That is a very very good thing for Israel. That
- 23:28Speaker 3: is a very very good thing for America because Hamas
- 23:32Speaker 3: hates Israel and hates America and they want to murder
- 23:34Speaker 3: us both. And secondly, you referenced anti Semitism. I think
- 23:40Speaker 3: one of the things October seventh did is it laid bare.
- 23:43Speaker 3: It exposed the vicious anti Semitism we see globally but tragically,
- 23:49Speaker 3: especially in US universities. And listen, I believe that anti
- 23:53Speaker 3: Semitism was there on October sixth. I don't think that
- 23:56Speaker 3: was newly created, but what happened on October seventh exposed it.
- 24:01Speaker 3: And I think shining a sunlight on it is a
- 24:04Speaker 3: key step to eliminating it.
- 24:06Speaker 1: And so.
- 24:09Speaker 3: Know that despite the viciousness, you're saying that millions and
- 24:13Speaker 3: millions of Americans and people across the world stand with
- 24:16Speaker 3: the people of Israel.
- 24:17Speaker 5: It's incredible, it's so inspiring. I read the words of
- 24:21Speaker 5: Isaiah five, for example, and says in the last of days,
- 24:24Speaker 5: good will be evil, and evil will be called good.
- 24:27Speaker 5: And I see how in the beginning of the war
- 24:30Speaker 5: in October eighth, people were debating if Somemas beheaded babies
- 24:34Speaker 5: or just peacefully burned them alive. And then it took
- 24:36Speaker 5: less than one minute it TOAs bread the lie that
- 24:38Speaker 5: Israel bomb the hospital, which ended up in the Samas rocket.
- 24:41Speaker 5: But there is so much hatred towards the Jewish people,
- 24:46Speaker 5: there's so much anti Semitism. But what I see stor
- 24:48Speaker 5: Cruise is exactly what you're saying, that this isn't nineteen
- 24:51Speaker 5: thirty eight. Today, it's a different reality because we have
- 24:55Speaker 5: the state of Israel which is able to protect the
- 24:57Speaker 5: Jewish people, and we have millions of Christians around the
- 25:01Speaker 5: world who stand with us. And that's exactly the message
- 25:04Speaker 5: of the Fellowshifts. You know, we've all learned about the
- 25:07Speaker 5: righteous gentiles during the Holocaust, who've learned about the core
- 25:10Speaker 5: ten Boons mas Chris Shimmler's And there's even a forest
- 25:14Speaker 5: in Jerusalem that's planted outside of the Aadbushian for the
- 25:16Speaker 5: righteous gentiles. And what I see today is if we
- 25:19Speaker 5: had to plant a tree for every righteous gentile who's
- 25:22Speaker 5: standing with Israel, cover an entire continent with trees. And
- 25:26Speaker 5: so what I represent on the ground here in Israel
- 25:29Speaker 5: is millions of Christians who are feeding the hungry, clothing
- 25:32Speaker 5: the naked, who are not political at all, but are
- 25:35Speaker 5: standing with the biblical words of the Bible nahmuani comfort
- 25:39Speaker 5: you comfort nite people by bringing food to Holocaust survivors
- 25:43Speaker 5: and their bomb shelters and providing bulletproof ambulances. And that
- 25:48Speaker 5: is the difference today between twenty twenty four and nineteen
- 25:53Speaker 5: thirty eight, and it's significant.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Well, y'all, I want to amen, Amen, absolutely.
- 25:59Speaker 2: I want to ask you and inform the vertical listeners
- 26:02Speaker 2: because there's so many listeners a show that ask Center
- 26:05Speaker 2: Cruz when he's traveling and myself, they asked the same question,
- 26:08Speaker 2: what can we do to get involved? Talk a little
- 26:11Speaker 2: bit about what the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews does.
- 26:15Speaker 2: The mission you mentioned and this is something that I
- 26:18Speaker 2: learned from you when we got to sit down and
- 26:20Speaker 2: break bread, is that there are these, for example, the
- 26:24Speaker 2: ambulances that they need, not just ambulances, but bulletproof ambulances,
- 26:28Speaker 2: and these are some of the resources that you guys
- 26:31Speaker 2: are helping with those on the ground that desperately need
- 26:34Speaker 2: these life saving not just care, but also the meals
- 26:37Speaker 2: and everything else.
- 26:38Speaker 5: Thank you so much so. The International Fellowship of Christians
- 26:40Speaker 5: and Jews is the largest philanthropic organization in Israel and
- 26:44Speaker 5: we represent the Christian community on the ground in the
- 26:47Speaker 5: Holy Land. We have three different areas that we focus on.
- 26:52Speaker 5: One is Alia, bringing Jews from at risk countries home
- 26:55Speaker 5: to Israel and the vision of the Bible. And that's
- 26:57Speaker 5: actually continued since October seventh. Almost every day we had
- 27:01Speaker 5: people landing in Israels from Ukraine, from the Arab world,
- 27:05Speaker 5: different places where they're persecuted. The second is focusing on
- 27:08Speaker 5: poverty and welfare, where we provide food and meals and
- 27:11Speaker 5: all the basic needs to people who are hungry and hurting.
- 27:16Speaker 5: And the third is security. And so on October seventh,
- 27:19Speaker 5: we were already prepared on the ground. We already provided
- 27:24Speaker 5: over five five hundred bomb shelters on the ground in Israel.
- 27:27Speaker 5: We already distributed bullet PROOFSS, we already distributed bulletproof ambulances.
- 27:32Speaker 5: We already in Barzilai Hospital which got four direct rocket attacks,
- 27:36Speaker 5: we already protected their labor and delivery and NICKU unit
- 27:40Speaker 5: that's completely fortified so that they were protected. And to
- 27:44Speaker 5: October seventh, we were already, we were already mobilized, We
- 27:48Speaker 5: already had the connections with all of the security officials,
- 27:52Speaker 5: with all of the welfare officials. And what happened on
- 27:54Speaker 5: October seventh was that suddenly the people who are normally
- 27:58Speaker 5: there to provide aided became the victims. We had a
- 28:02Speaker 5: head of social work, a head social worker in southern
- 28:05Speaker 5: Israel who was kidnapped. We were calling her to say,
- 28:07Speaker 5: what do you need, how can we help? She was
- 28:09Speaker 5: in a gaza. She was kidnapped by the Kamas terrorists.
- 28:12Speaker 5: We had heads of cities who their children were murdered,
- 28:17Speaker 5: and so the Fellowship moved in on October seventh to say,
- 28:20Speaker 5: until the local national government is able to get together
- 28:24Speaker 5: to care for the fitsteens, we're here. We're on the
- 28:26Speaker 5: ground in Stoat As there were terrorists roaming, going shelter
- 28:30Speaker 5: to shelter bringing food. As the first responders were going
- 28:34Speaker 5: down south to fight the terrorists, the Fellowship was there
- 28:37Speaker 5: providing thousands of Bullipho's helmets and flat jackets. Because simply put,
- 28:45Speaker 5: Israel wasn't prepared for October seventh. It took us by surprise.
- 28:48Speaker 5: And so the fact that the Fellowship has been there
- 28:51Speaker 5: on the ground providing security for over fifteen years, we
- 28:55Speaker 5: were able to mobilize on October seventh, and we haven't sapped, since.
- 29:00Speaker 2: That needs right now for specifically people in the US
- 29:03Speaker 2: that do want to get involved and want to help,
- 29:05Speaker 2: and how can they get involved in help well.
- 29:07Speaker 5: One of the biggest needs right now is actually for
- 29:10Speaker 5: food and basic needs for those who are evacuated, people
- 29:13Speaker 5: who haven't had a business, people who haven't had jobs,
- 29:16Speaker 5: many of them for over four months. We have reserve
- 29:18Speaker 5: soldiers who are called up four months ago, who have
- 29:21Speaker 5: barely come home, who haven't been able to work, and
- 29:24Speaker 5: those families, many of them were poor before October seventh,
- 29:27Speaker 5: and so one of the biggest needs that we're seeing
- 29:29Speaker 5: is really for the basics to bring food to the
- 29:33Speaker 5: families whose husbands are in reserve duty, who are poor
- 29:36Speaker 5: before the war and now are desperate, to the evacuees,
- 29:40Speaker 5: to the Holocaust survivors. I was in Serot just a
- 29:43Speaker 5: few week and a half ago. Scaut is a city
- 29:46Speaker 5: on the border with Gaza that was evacuated right after
- 29:50Speaker 5: October seventh, almost four months ago, and there are five
- 29:53Speaker 5: hundred elderly over eight years old who they said, we
- 29:56Speaker 5: would rather stay here and die in our homes than
- 29:59Speaker 5: live again as refugees. Most of them are Holocaust survivors.
- 30:03Speaker 5: And so there's no gross restores open, there's no infrastructure there,
- 30:07Speaker 5: and so it's the Fellowship who's they're providing food to
- 30:10Speaker 5: these elderly in the evacuated, war torn city of Stereos.
- 30:15Speaker 5: So right now it's the basics, which means we're not
- 30:18Speaker 5: looking for millions of dollars, we're not looking for huge donations.
- 30:22Speaker 5: Twenty five dollars provides a food box to one of
- 30:25Speaker 5: those elderly and Stereos.
- 30:27Speaker 2: It's incredible the work that you guys are doing. Where
- 30:30Speaker 2: can people find out more specifically online?
- 30:33Speaker 5: So online you could go to our website www dot
- 30:36Speaker 5: ISCJ dot org and get all the information there. And
- 30:41Speaker 5: I'm veridicated to showing on a day to day basis
- 30:45Speaker 5: what the Fellowship is doing. So you can follow me
- 30:47Speaker 5: y Lxtein on all social media platforms, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn
- 30:52Speaker 5: and get day to day, real time updates on the
- 30:54Speaker 5: donations are saving lives.
- 30:57Speaker 3: Well yeah, well, thank you so much for joining us,
- 30:59Speaker 3: and thank you for all that you are doing, and
- 31:01Speaker 3: know that our prayers are with you, our prayers are
- 31:03Speaker 3: with the people of Israel, and truth will prevail, Israel
- 31:08Speaker 3: will stand against the face of evil, and America stands men.
- 31:14Speaker 5: I can't tell you how comforting those words are and
- 31:16Speaker 5: how much you've put truth to action. So thank you,
