Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / Illegal Immigrants Beat Up NY Cops & FLIP OFF the American People, plus the Senate's TERRIBLE Immigration Deal
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:01Speaker 2: It is verdict with Senator Ted Cruz. Ben Ferguson with you, Senator,
- 0:05Speaker 2: We've got a lot to talk about with a Senate
- 0:07Speaker 2: immigration bill and a lot of questions I want to
- 0:09Speaker 2: ask you, But before we even get into the details
- 0:12Speaker 2: of that, I want to talk about the stay of
- 0:14Speaker 2: the country with immigration and illegal immigration. And there is
- 0:18Speaker 2: a flash point that has happened this past week with
- 0:20Speaker 2: an illegal immigrant who flicked off basically the United States
- 0:24Speaker 2: of America after trying, I would say, to kill a
- 0:27Speaker 2: police officer. Where they beat police officers. There's a group
- 0:31Speaker 2: of them and they all walk free, and apparently, from
- 0:33Speaker 2: what we've been told, they may even be on their
- 0:34Speaker 2: way or already in California right now. Your reaction to
- 0:38Speaker 2: that moment.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Ben, I don't know that there's a story that has
- 0:41Speaker 3: pissed me off more in a long long time than
- 0:46Speaker 3: what the New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg did here.
- 0:50Speaker 3: So the story, as you know, is a group of
- 0:52Speaker 3: illegal immigrants, basically a gang of them, beat up two
- 0:56Speaker 3: NYPD cops, beat them, kicked them, aside them, and then
- 1:02Speaker 3: they were arrested and they got released within hours with
- 1:06Speaker 3: no bail. They were just let go. And as you noted,
- 1:09Speaker 3: the image of them walking out and with both hands
- 1:14Speaker 3: flipping off the entire country. I think that is the
- 1:18Speaker 3: image of this election. When people go vote in November,
- 1:23Speaker 3: just remember that guy with both middle fingers extended, because
- 1:27Speaker 3: that's what Joe Biden is saying to you. That's what
- 1:30Speaker 3: the Democrats are saying to you. They are saying, screw you,
- 1:34Speaker 3: they don't care, and they are destroying They're they're destroying
- 1:40Speaker 3: our country. And it is the idea that illegal immigrants
- 1:47Speaker 3: can beat up cops and there are no consequences. It's
- 1:49Speaker 3: perfectly okay, according to Democrats, is so toxic every every
- 1:57Speaker 3: elected Democrat should be forced to address this and to
- 2:02Speaker 3: denounce Alvin Bragg.
- 2:04Speaker 2: There's also a brazenness aspect of this attack and these
- 2:07Speaker 2: police officers. It was caught on camera because it was
- 2:10Speaker 2: at Times Square. This wasn't in some back alley and
- 2:13Speaker 2: another part of the city where there was some sort
- 2:16Speaker 2: of major crime that was happening and then the police
- 2:18Speaker 2: got involved in there was a fight.
- 2:20Speaker 1: This was just an assault on police officers.
- 2:23Speaker 2: At Times Square, in an area where these illegal immigrants
- 2:26Speaker 2: clearly felt like they can do whatever they want to do.
- 2:28Speaker 2: There's no reason to believe honestly otherwise, because we allow
- 2:31Speaker 2: them into this country, we give them a coordinate. They
- 2:33Speaker 2: could be seven years from now and the reaction coming
- 2:37Speaker 2: out of jail because of Alan Bragg, and I want
- 2:39Speaker 2: you to go in Alan Bragg as well. This is
- 2:41Speaker 2: an activist, George Soros DA, and he's been confronted by
- 2:44Speaker 2: this and he basically is doing the same thing as
- 2:46Speaker 2: those illegal immigrants. He's flicking off the justice system saying
- 2:50Speaker 2: I'm in charge, I'm an activist DA, and there's nothing
- 2:53Speaker 2: you can do to stop me.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Now, that is exactly right. Alvin Bragg is one of
- 2:57Speaker 3: the sadly many Soros DA's across the country. George Soros
- 3:01Speaker 3: has spent millions of dollars electing radical left wing das
- 3:05Speaker 3: who let violent criminals out of jail and they go
- 3:08Speaker 3: commit more and more and more violent crimes. And we've
- 3:11Speaker 3: seen it across the country. We've seen it in New York,
- 3:13Speaker 3: We've seen it in Philadelphia, We've seen it in San Francisco,
- 3:16Speaker 3: we've seen it in La You know, Alvin Bragg, right
- 3:20Speaker 3: after they let these illegal immigrants out of jail with
- 3:23Speaker 3: no bail. Reporters tried to get Bragg to comment, to
- 3:27Speaker 3: answer why he had done so, and he basically ran
- 3:30Speaker 3: away from the reporters, refused to answer, and then subsequently,
- 3:34Speaker 3: here is the explanation Bragg gave. I'm going to quote
- 3:36Speaker 3: it quote in a court of law, our profound obligation
- 3:40Speaker 3: is to make sure we have right people charged with
- 3:43Speaker 3: the right crimes. I don't think New Yorkers want to
- 3:46Speaker 3: charge the wrong person. There is a presumption of pre
- 3:51Speaker 3: trial non incarceration for every case except those with charges
- 3:59Speaker 3: of homicide or the death of a victim. Now that
- 4:04Speaker 3: is utterly insane. I want you to focus on what
- 4:08Speaker 3: he is saying. I'm going to read it again. There
- 4:10Speaker 3: is a presumption. Actually the first part, well, we want
- 4:14Speaker 3: to make sure the right people are charged with the
- 4:15Speaker 3: right crimes. These guys are on video. We've all watched
- 4:19Speaker 3: the video. We know exactly who it is, we know
- 4:22Speaker 3: what they did. There's a video of it. They do
- 4:24Speaker 3: it brazenly in the middle of Times Square. Nobody is
- 4:27Speaker 3: worried that you got the wrong guys here. We know
- 4:30Speaker 3: they're guilty. They were videotape. When you beat up a
- 4:33Speaker 3: cop and kick two cops repeatedly on the ground. There
- 4:38Speaker 3: is no defense to that. So the first part of
- 4:40Speaker 3: his statement makes no sense. But the second part, if anything,
- 4:43Speaker 3: is even crazier. Let me read you the second part again.
- 4:47Speaker 3: There is a presumption a pre trial non incarceration for
- 4:53Speaker 3: every case except those with charges of homicide or the
- 4:59Speaker 3: death of a victim. Other words, ben your wife or
- 5:03Speaker 3: your mother, or your daughter or sister is violently raped,
- 5:07Speaker 3: Alvin Bragg is saying, we will release the rapist if
- 5:12Speaker 3: she's not dead, will release the rapist before the trial.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Someone commits horrific child abuse and child molestation. What is
- 5:21Speaker 3: Alvin Bragg saying, we will release the child molester before
- 5:26Speaker 3: the trial. Someone beats you your son within inches of
- 5:33Speaker 3: his life, almost to death, and you don't die. Alvin
- 5:37Speaker 3: Bragg is saying you can beat someone almost to death
- 5:41Speaker 3: and he's going to release the criminal. That is so
- 5:46Speaker 3: utterly insane. It is a policy that on its face
- 5:53Speaker 3: just produces chaos and lawlessness, and it produces what New
- 6:00Speaker 3: York City has right now. It's not just in New York.
- 6:03Speaker 2: This is something that we're seeing all over the country
- 6:06Speaker 2: where illegal immigrants are able to commit heinous crimes. People die,
- 6:09Speaker 2: as you just mentioned, and there's no accountability. And Congress,
- 6:13Speaker 2: by the way back that up this week, there was
- 6:16Speaker 2: a bill I call this a no brainer bill. That
- 6:19Speaker 2: was a bill that was really simple to deport illegal
- 6:22Speaker 2: immigrants if they are caught driving under the influence. Now,
- 6:26Speaker 2: there's a shocking number of people that have died at
- 6:29Speaker 2: the hands of illegal immigrants who have been driving drunk.
- 6:32Speaker 2: And so this bill was to say, look, you're in
- 6:35Speaker 2: this country illegally. You get caught with the dui, we
- 6:38Speaker 2: are going to deport you. And one hundred and fifty
- 6:41Speaker 2: Democrats Center voted against that bill. A no brainer bill.
- 6:45Speaker 2: What the heck is going on? That's the words literally
- 6:48Speaker 2: from Elon Musk on this.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Today's Democrat Party systematically puts criminals and illegal immigrants ahead
- 6:56Speaker 3: of the interests of American citizens. So if you're out
- 7:00Speaker 3: driving on the road, if if your wife is out
- 7:02Speaker 3: driving on the road, if your kids are out and
- 7:05Speaker 3: and a drunk driver slams into them, who's an illegal alien?
- 7:09Speaker 3: The Democrats are saying, Nope, don't deport him. Then they
- 7:12Speaker 3: are literally endangering our families. And listen, this has gotten
- 7:19Speaker 3: so bad that that even even some folks in Hollywood
- 7:24Speaker 3: are jumping ship you know the comedian, this guy, Michael Rapaport. Look,
- 7:31Speaker 3: he's a loud mouth. He puts these you know, profane
- 7:35Speaker 3: Twitter rants online.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Uh.
- 7:37Speaker 3: He hates Trump, he hates me. He is a big,
- 7:41Speaker 3: big leftist. And you know how he responded to what
- 7:44Speaker 3: happened in New York. He put out this rant and
- 7:47Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm gonna quote from it, although I'm going
- 7:49Speaker 3: to try to sanitize it a little bit. He slams
- 7:53Speaker 3: his fist on the table and says, quote, this is
- 7:56Speaker 3: why when I say, voting for explative, Donald Trump is
- 7:59Speaker 3: on the voting for explative Donald Trump is on the table.
- 8:04Speaker 3: And he goes on to say, the other day in
- 8:06Speaker 3: New York City, six illegal aliens jumped a New York
- 8:09Speaker 3: City cop NYPD's finest. They jumped a New York City
- 8:13Speaker 3: cop in Times Square and were arrested and released without bail.
- 8:20Speaker 3: And he continues quote released without bail, came out of
- 8:26Speaker 3: the courtroom on some two pack, raising the middle finger
- 8:30Speaker 3: with the Detroit Red Wings Jersey. Let me tell you something,
- 8:34Speaker 3: what the f is the world coming to? If you
- 8:38Speaker 3: could be from another country beat up a cop in
- 8:42Speaker 3: New York City and walk out with no f and bail.
- 8:46Speaker 3: What the f is the world coming to when you
- 8:51Speaker 3: have angry left wing comedians now ready to vote for
- 8:57Speaker 3: Trump the Democrat Party that they've lost their minds.
- 9:02Speaker 2: And there's also in You and I have talked about this,
- 9:05Speaker 2: and I think this is a really important moment. We
- 9:07Speaker 2: should just highlight it again. Don't look at what they say,
- 9:11Speaker 2: look at what they do. You look at Mayor Adams
- 9:14Speaker 2: in New York City and what he says is we're
- 9:16Speaker 2: a sanctuary city early on where loving city, come one,
- 9:19Speaker 2: come all, will accept all the illegal immorrants. Now he's
- 9:21Speaker 2: saying we can't afford it. Now he's saying to humanitarian crisis.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Now he's saying this is all the fault of the
- 9:27Speaker 2: Texas Governor Greg Abbott for busting people there. And so
- 9:31Speaker 2: he's saying one thing but doing another. And then he
- 9:33Speaker 2: says we have a problem. Yet New York comes out.
- 9:37Speaker 2: New York City has come out, and now they're giving
- 9:40Speaker 2: pre paid credit cards with real cash on them to
- 9:45Speaker 2: illegal immigrants. Even the rapper fifty cent has said, maybe
- 9:50Speaker 2: Trump is the answered.
- 9:51Speaker 1: This is the second you know, basically liberal that you
- 9:53Speaker 1: just mentioned.
- 9:53Speaker 2: The first Committian there now an African American famous rapper saying,
- 9:58Speaker 2: I don't understand how this works. So am I explaining
- 10:00Speaker 2: this to me? How we're giving money to illegal immigrants.
- 10:03Speaker 2: It's clearly incentivizing them. And when I say it's not
- 10:05Speaker 2: a little bit of money, it's fifty three million. It's
- 10:08Speaker 2: going to be distributed among illegal immigrants in the city
- 10:11Speaker 2: in the form of prepaid credit cards. So when you
- 10:14Speaker 2: say don't come here, as Mayor Adams has said, but
- 10:17Speaker 2: he says, here's fifty three million. If you do come here,
- 10:19Speaker 2: what do you think is gonna happen? They want them
- 10:21Speaker 2: to come.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Look, that is exactly right. They are literally paying illegal immigrants.
- 10:27Speaker 3: They are giving them, giving them prepaid credit cards. Now, now,
- 10:33Speaker 3: mind you New Yorkers, who do you think is paying
- 10:35Speaker 3: for that? That's coming from New York taxpayers. So they
- 10:39Speaker 3: come to New York, they beat up cops, they get released,
- 10:43Speaker 3: and they get paid to do it. And by the way,
- 10:46Speaker 3: it is not just New York. We are seeing this
- 10:50Speaker 3: pattern consistently in terms of Democrats. So another story that
- 10:55Speaker 3: broke also in just the last couple of days, Washington
- 11:00Speaker 3: eight took three hundred and forty million dollars of money
- 11:03Speaker 3: from the federal government during COVID, and it was COVID
- 11:06Speaker 3: relief funds, And what did they do with it? They
- 11:09Speaker 3: voted to give give that money three hundred and forty
- 11:12Speaker 3: million dollars illegally to illegal aliens and and to send
- 11:17Speaker 3: them checks, to send checks one thousand dollars cash giveaways
- 11:23Speaker 3: to illegal aliens who were not eligible under the congressional
- 11:28Speaker 3: stimulus program. Well, Washington State says, well, gosh, we're gonna
- 11:31Speaker 3: take the Fed's money and just pay illegal aliens. Well,
- 11:34Speaker 3: you know what, if you pay people to come there,
- 11:37Speaker 3: you shouldn't be surprised when more of them come there.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Mayor Adams also said this this week. He insists that
- 11:44Speaker 2: the New York City migrant crisis quote has nothing to
- 11:48Speaker 2: do with sanctuary city status. Your reaction to that, that
- 11:53Speaker 2: that total incompetency.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Well, he wants to blame it on that madman in Texas,
- 11:59Speaker 3: and that would be greg A. But as you know,
- 12:00Speaker 3: I'm kind of offended that he's referring to Abbott and
- 12:03Speaker 3: not me when he talks about a madman in Texas.
- 12:06Speaker 3: But you know that's who he was talking about. And
- 12:09Speaker 3: all right, I'm going to do something I've never before,
- 12:12Speaker 3: quoted Michael Rappaport. But I'm going to go back to
- 12:14Speaker 3: something he closes his rant with. He says, quote, and
- 12:17Speaker 3: he's a New Yorker. He says, quote, maybe my city
- 12:20Speaker 3: is not the greatest city on earth anymore. If you
- 12:23Speaker 3: could beat up cops, if you could beat up cops
- 12:26Speaker 3: and the greatest city in the world and be released
- 12:28Speaker 3: without bail, are we the greatest city on earth? Cadaver
- 12:32Speaker 3: Joe Biden, we see you, we efing see you.
- 12:38Speaker 2: And Mayor Adam is taking a lot of heat this week.
- 12:41Speaker 2: He may be, by the way, centered the first Democrat
- 12:44Speaker 2: that I've seen so far in this cycle to actually
- 12:48Speaker 2: say that we need to start deporting people. He says,
- 12:50Speaker 2: only if they're doing violent acts. This was on local
- 12:54Speaker 2: news in New York City doing damage control.
- 12:57Speaker 4: Well, I've been saying this over and over again. The
- 13:01Speaker 4: national government must do its job. This is not a
- 13:04Speaker 4: responsibility that should be placed in the lap of all
- 13:07Speaker 4: of these big cities.
- 13:08Speaker 1: With sin we's taking.
- 13:09Speaker 4: Place in Chicago and Denver and Boston all across our country.
- 13:14Speaker 4: Big cities are having to do the national government job.
- 13:17Speaker 4: And those migrants who are here because they want to
- 13:19Speaker 4: be part of the American dream. That's we say yesterday.
- 13:23Speaker 4: But those who are breaking our laws, we need to
- 13:26Speaker 4: re examine the laws that don't allow us to deport
- 13:30Speaker 4: them because they're doing violent acts. We cannot clean an
- 13:34Speaker 4: atmosphere where you're going to bring violence in our city.
- 13:37Speaker 1: I mean, he says one thing like that.
- 13:40Speaker 2: He's actually saying we should deport violent people that do
- 13:42Speaker 2: violent acts. Yet he's giving out millions and millions and
- 13:45Speaker 2: millions of dollars to legal immigrants to come to a city.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Yep.
- 13:48Speaker 3: And the elected DA is letting violent criminals go who
- 13:52Speaker 3: are assaulting cops. And by the way, it's not just
- 13:56Speaker 3: Alvin Bragg's fault, it's not just George Soros's fault. It's
- 13:59Speaker 3: also the governor's vault. Kathy Hochel, under the New York laws,
- 14:04Speaker 3: has the authority to dismiss Brag. And if you remember,
- 14:08Speaker 3: there was a very hotly contested gubernatorial race. Lee Zelden
- 14:12Speaker 3: ran against her, and he promised if he was elected governor,
- 14:15Speaker 3: he would fire Alvin Bragg. And and so the voters
- 14:18Speaker 3: of New York had the opportunity to fire Brag. And
- 14:22Speaker 3: if you remember, during that campaign, Lee Zelden was on
- 14:25Speaker 3: the campaign trail and a deranged man assaulted him. Leapt
- 14:30Speaker 3: on stage had had a keychain with with with it
- 14:35Speaker 3: was actually a hardened plastic keychain in the shape of
- 14:39Speaker 3: cat ears, but the ears were like a knife, and
- 14:42Speaker 3: he tried to basically cut Zelden's throat, and Zelden is
- 14:47Speaker 3: a veteran. Zelden served in the Navy, and so Lee
- 14:50Speaker 3: defended himself and the guy was arrested. And the guy
- 14:54Speaker 3: who tried to assault and murder the Republican candidate for
- 14:59Speaker 3: governor was released the same day without bail, just like
- 15:04Speaker 3: these guys. And so this is a problem that has
- 15:07Speaker 3: been going on a long time. And Alvin Bragg is
- 15:11Speaker 3: doing exactly what George Soros put him there to do,
- 15:15Speaker 3: which is to release violent criminals into New York City.
- 15:18Speaker 3: I don't know why Soros wants that, but he clearly
- 15:21Speaker 3: wants it because he's put in place das that are
- 15:24Speaker 3: doing exactly that.
- 15:26Speaker 2: I want to challenge you to do something, and I
- 15:27Speaker 2: want it to be with your hard earned dollars this
- 15:30Speaker 2: year in twenty twenty four, stop giving it to companies
- 15:33Speaker 2: that hate your values, that hate your conservative values and
- 15:37Speaker 2: your faith.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Now, Big Mobile, they're one of those.
- 15:40Speaker 2: You may not realize what they're doing with your money
- 15:42Speaker 2: when you pay your bill. Did you know that Big
- 15:44Speaker 2: Mobile gives massive donations democratic candidates, causes, and Planned parenthood.
- 15:50Speaker 2: That's why I made the switch to Patriot Mobile. Patriot
- 15:54Speaker 2: Mobile has has been doing this for more than a decade,
- 15:57Speaker 2: more than ten years. They have been offering nationwide coverage,
- 16:01Speaker 2: and they're the only Christian conservative wireless provider. And when
- 16:04Speaker 2: I say only, I mean it. The reason why I
- 16:07Speaker 2: switched to Patriot Mobile is very simple. I knew I
- 16:10Speaker 2: was going to have a cell phone bill every month.
- 16:11Speaker 2: It's going to happen for who knows how long in
- 16:14Speaker 2: my life, and I want to know that when I
- 16:16Speaker 2: pay that bill, I'm giving it to a company that
- 16:18Speaker 2: supports my family values, not fighting against them. So stop
- 16:22Speaker 2: giving your money to Big Mobile and make a clear
- 16:25Speaker 2: decision to send a message that you support free speech,
- 16:28Speaker 2: religious freedom, the sanctity of life, the Second Amendment, as
- 16:32Speaker 2: well as supporting our military veterans and our first responder heroes.
- 16:36Speaker 2: When you pay your bill to Patriot Mobile, five percent
- 16:39Speaker 2: of your bill goes back to support conservative causes, candidates,
- 16:43Speaker 2: and organizations that support our first and Second Amendment rights
- 16:47Speaker 2: and the rights of unborn children. Just go to Patriotmobile

- 17:10Speaker 2: number you have now, same cell phone you have, or
- 17:12Speaker 2: upgrade to a new one Patriotmobile dot com slash verdict.
- 17:15Speaker 2: That's Patriotmobile dot com slash verdict or nine seven to
- 17:18Speaker 2: two Patriot Center. There's a bill, and I want to
- 17:21Speaker 2: talk about the side of the Senate bill on immigration reform.
- 17:25Speaker 2: There have been words thrown out this last week about
- 17:28Speaker 2: mass amnesty. Could be a possibility about brokering some sort
- 17:32Speaker 2: of deal that would basically say, if you're in this country,
- 17:34Speaker 2: you've been here for you know, year two, we're just
- 17:36Speaker 2: going to hand you over the American dream with no
- 17:38Speaker 2: accountability for you breaking into this country. Where are we
- 17:42Speaker 2: with this bill and what's happening right now?
- 17:45Speaker 3: Well, the so called Senate immigration bill is an absolute mess,
- 17:50Speaker 3: and I've been leading the fight against it. In fact,
- 17:52Speaker 3: I did a press conference about a week ago where
- 17:56Speaker 3: I described it as is a steaming pile of crap.
- 18:00Speaker 3: So my views on this are not ambiguous.
- 18:04Speaker 2: And that was putting it mildly, by the way, because
- 18:06Speaker 2: it really is that bad.
- 18:07Speaker 3: So let's step back, let's give some context. And one
- 18:10Speaker 3: of the reasons we do this podcast is we have
- 18:13Speaker 3: a chance to explain things at a level of detail
- 18:15Speaker 3: you can't get anywhere else. So why is there an
- 18:18Speaker 3: immigration deal that's being discussed at all? And the reason
- 18:21Speaker 3: is the Biden administration desperately wants a supplemental funding bill
- 18:27Speaker 3: to pass, and in particular, they want more money for Ukraine.
- 18:31Speaker 3: They want more money for Ukraine, and they've wrapped the
- 18:35Speaker 3: Ukraine funding together with emergency military funding for Israel. They
- 18:41Speaker 3: wrapped the two of them together, along with some funds
- 18:43Speaker 3: for Taiwan. Well, Senate Republicans took the position that we
- 18:48Speaker 3: will not vote to move that forward unless we have
- 18:52Speaker 3: a deal to secure the border. And we were actually
- 18:55Speaker 3: all of the Senate Republicans were united a month ago
- 18:58Speaker 3: in saying you've got to secure the border. We're not
- 19:01Speaker 3: going to secure Ukraine's border until we secure our own,
- 19:04Speaker 3: and that has to be part of this funding deal.
- 19:07Speaker 3: So what happened. What happened is is Mitch McConnell deputized
- 19:13Speaker 3: James Lankford, Republican Senator from Oklahoma to negotiate with Chris Murphy,
- 19:20Speaker 3: very liberal Democrat from Connecticut, and Kirsten Cinema Democrats slash
- 19:26Speaker 3: independent from Arizona. The three of them have been negotiating
- 19:30Speaker 3: for several months now and trying to reach a deal.
- 19:34Speaker 3: They're saying that they essentially have a deal. The problem
- 19:39Speaker 3: is the deal they've reached I think is a terrible
- 19:42Speaker 3: deal and it does not fix the problem. Now that
- 19:46Speaker 3: being said, Chuck Schumer desperately wants this deal to pass,
- 19:52Speaker 3: and Mitch McConnell desperately wants this deal to pass.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Why is that.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Well, for Mitch, his number one one priority is Ukraine funding.
- 20:01Speaker 3: It is clear that he is deeply committed to funding Ukraine.
- 20:05Speaker 3: And so when it became clear that the Ukraine funding
- 20:09Speaker 3: would not have the votes to pass, especially in the
- 20:12Speaker 3: House where a lot of House Republicans are vocally opposed
- 20:16Speaker 3: to additional funding for Ukraine, Mitch, I think seized upon Okay,
- 20:21Speaker 3: let's see if we can get something that that that
- 20:24Speaker 3: we can say secure. Is the border and if that
- 20:26Speaker 3: will get Republicans in the House to vote for Ukraine funding,
- 20:29Speaker 3: Mitch will be happy. Initially, as this deal was discussed,
- 20:33Speaker 3: we were being told by the by h James Lankford
- 20:37Speaker 3: and and and by the negotiating UH lead by leadership
- 20:42Speaker 3: that the deal would force Biden to secure the border
- 20:46Speaker 3: to fix the problem now. And my view was, great, Look,
- 20:49Speaker 3: if we can do that, If we can force Biden
- 20:51Speaker 3: to secure the border, that is worth doing. It's interesting, However,
- 20:55Speaker 3: as we sit here, you and I are recording this
- 20:58Speaker 3: on Sunday, it's going to come out Monday morning. As
- 21:00Speaker 3: we sit here today on Sunday, I still have not
- 21:03Speaker 3: seen the text of the bill. Wow, Virtually nobody else
- 21:07Speaker 3: has either, So I have no idea what's in the bill.
- 21:10Speaker 1: But hold on.
- 21:11Speaker 2: That's what Nancy Pelosi says is good about Congress, right,
- 21:13Speaker 2: we don't know what's in the bill until we passed
- 21:15Speaker 2: the bill. Sentator, Isn't that like a normal day of business,
- 21:18Speaker 2: isn't in at this point?
- 21:19Speaker 1: Yeap?
- 21:20Speaker 3: That is exactly what Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare. You've
- 21:23Speaker 3: got to pass it to figure out what's in it. Now,
- 21:25Speaker 3: Chuck Schumer is announced he's going to force a vote
- 21:28Speaker 3: on this bill on Wednesday, And as I said, we
- 21:31Speaker 3: still haven't seen what's in it. So what's happened. Look,
- 21:34Speaker 3: James Langford, he's a friend of mine. He is a
- 21:36Speaker 3: good and decent man. He was a pastor before he
- 21:39Speaker 3: was a senator. He's got a good heart, he is earnest,
- 21:44Speaker 3: He's well liked on both sides of the aisle. He
- 21:47Speaker 3: came back from negotiating this deal and he went and
- 21:50Speaker 3: visited every Republican senator. So James came to my office.
- 21:53Speaker 3: He sat in my office and talked through orally different
- 21:58Speaker 3: elements that he said were in the bill, And so
- 22:00Speaker 3: there are different elements. One of the elements that he
- 22:02Speaker 3: emphasizes is he says this bill will tighten the asylum standards,
- 22:07Speaker 3: make it harder to qualify for asylum. He also has
- 22:11Speaker 3: said this bill will limit the use of parrole, which
- 22:15Speaker 3: is the legal authority that Biden has used to release
- 22:18Speaker 3: millions of illegal immigrants. Now, both of those are good
- 22:21Speaker 3: if it in fact does that, But as I said,
- 22:23Speaker 3: we haven't seen the text, so I'm not convinced it
- 22:25Speaker 3: even does that. The fact that they're not willing to
- 22:28Speaker 3: release the text is a big, big, big warning sign.
- 22:31Speaker 3: It also apparently has some concessions for the Democrats in
- 22:35Speaker 3: terms of giving work permits to illegal immigrants. I don't
- 22:39Speaker 3: know the details of that, but I certainly don't like that.
- 22:42Speaker 3: And then the provision that has attracted the most attention
- 22:47Speaker 3: is it has what Langford characterizes as a safety valve
- 22:53Speaker 3: that says if the number of illegal immigrants exceeds five
- 22:59Speaker 3: thousand a day, then extra tough sanctions kick in. And
- 23:04Speaker 3: the way Langford describes it, it quote shuts down the border.
- 23:09Speaker 3: It prevents it prevents the Biden administration, he says, from
- 23:15Speaker 3: accepting any asylum applications. And he said that's designed as
- 23:19Speaker 3: like an emergency release. Now, in December, the last month,
- 23:23Speaker 3: we have data for the number of illegal aliens coming
- 23:26Speaker 3: in what was over three hundred thousand. It was more
- 23:30Speaker 3: than ten thousand a day. That is the highest month
- 23:33Speaker 3: in the history of our country. We've never had a
- 23:36Speaker 3: month with that many illegal immigrants come. Langford is arguing, well,
- 23:40Speaker 3: this emergency relief valve would force the administration to cut
- 23:45Speaker 3: that in half from ten thousand to five thousand. Now, look,
- 23:49Speaker 3: I agree cutting it in half would be good. Here's
- 23:51Speaker 3: the problem that I think effectively normalizes five thousand a day.
- 23:57Speaker 3: It says we're okay with five thousand a day, and
- 24:01Speaker 3: by the way, five thousand a day, if you do
- 24:03Speaker 3: the math, that is over one point eight million illegal
- 24:07Speaker 3: aliens a year. It is almost two million a year.
- 24:10Speaker 3: So if you look at over the three plus years
- 24:13Speaker 3: of the Biden presidency, we have seen over nine point
- 24:17Speaker 3: six million illegal immigrants come into the country one point
- 24:20Speaker 3: eight million a year. That's nearly six million. So it's
- 24:23Speaker 3: basically Republicans saying, you know what, we're good with two
- 24:27Speaker 3: thirds of Biden's illegal immigration with the invasion, and by
- 24:32Speaker 3: the way, with that essentially extending into perpetuity. I think
- 24:36Speaker 3: that makes no sense whatsoever.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Why why is he forcing this bill if there's still
- 24:41Speaker 2: this much opposition to it? Does he think that he
- 24:44Speaker 2: could truly get this ram through and somehow the House
- 24:46Speaker 2: would go along with this?
- 24:48Speaker 3: So understand what's happening. Senate Republican leadership has basically declared
- 24:53Speaker 3: war on House Republicans. So I have been leading the
- 24:57Speaker 3: fight against this bill, and we have the last two
- 24:59Speaker 3: weeks our Senate Republican lunches to say we have had
- 25:05Speaker 3: energetic disagreements on this would be the understatement of the century.
- 25:09Speaker 3: And I had been standing up as of a number
- 25:11Speaker 3: of other conservatives making the case against this, and many
- 25:15Speaker 3: of my Republican colleagues are getting really pissed off. I've
- 25:19Speaker 3: asked them, so the question I asked my colleagues, I've said, listen,
- 25:23Speaker 3: I think the chances of this bill passing the House
- 25:27Speaker 3: are zero percent. And by the way, when I first
- 25:30Speaker 3: said that, the proponents of the bill were like, no, no, no, no, no,
- 25:34Speaker 3: it's going to pass the House. The Speaker loves it,
- 25:35Speaker 3: he thinks it's great. And I'm like, that's the most
- 25:37Speaker 3: ridiculous thing I've ever heard, But that's what they were claiming.
- 25:41Speaker 3: Then last week Mike Johnson, the Speaker of the House,
- 25:43Speaker 3: came out and said this bill is dead on arrival
- 25:47Speaker 3: in the House, which is exactly what I told my colleagues.
- 25:50Speaker 3: But you've got somewhere between a third and two thirds
- 25:55Speaker 3: of the Senate Republicans that desperately want to vote for
- 25:58Speaker 3: this bill, and in our lunches are arguing vociferously for
- 26:02Speaker 3: this bill. Mind you, they don't know what's in it,
- 26:04Speaker 3: but they just want to vote for a deal. And look,
- 26:08Speaker 3: a lot of the usual suspects who are out being
- 26:11Speaker 3: self righteous and saying we've got to do something. By
- 26:14Speaker 3: the way, the Wall Street Journal has done multiple editorials
- 26:17Speaker 3: urging Republicans, you've got to pass this Senate deal. Presumably
- 26:22Speaker 3: they don't know what's in it. We haven't gotten text.
- 26:25Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Maybe they gave the journal text. But their view, and
- 26:29Speaker 3: what I've said is listen. Initially, the argument that was
- 26:32Speaker 3: given was we were going to force Biden to actually
- 26:35Speaker 3: secure the border. If this bill did that, I'd support
- 26:38Speaker 3: the bill. Yeah, But as the negotiations went on, the
- 26:43Speaker 3: talking points change, and so it started with we're going
- 26:45Speaker 3: to force Biden and secure the bill. Now here's what
- 26:47Speaker 3: their talking point is. Well, okay, we agree Biden will
- 26:51Speaker 3: continue to have an open border and the crisis will continue.
- 26:54Speaker 3: But they say this creates new tools that if if
- 27:00Speaker 3: Donald Trump is elected, he can use to secure the border.
- 27:04Speaker 3: So you want to talk about moving the goalpost. First
- 27:06Speaker 3: of all, we were going to force Biden to do it.
- 27:08Speaker 3: Now they can see now we're not doing that. But gosh,
- 27:12Speaker 3: go lickety split. This is good for Donald Trump because
- 27:15Speaker 3: it'll give him new legal tools, to which I've responded
- 27:18Speaker 3: to my colleagues. Donald Trump doesn't need new legal tools
- 27:22Speaker 3: to secure the border. How do we know that, because
- 27:25Speaker 3: he did it already. When Joe Biden became president, we
- 27:28Speaker 3: had the lowest rate of illegal immigration in forty five years.
- 27:32Speaker 3: He did it by ending catch and release. He did
- 27:34Speaker 3: it with the remain in Mexico agreement. He did it
- 27:36Speaker 3: by building the wall. We can do that again. Trump
- 27:39Speaker 3: can do that again. And mark my words, if and
- 27:42Speaker 3: when Trump is re elected, you will see illegal immigration
- 27:45Speaker 3: drop instantaneously, because we've seen that movie before. That's what
- 27:51Speaker 3: happened previously. And when Biden became president, we saw immigration
- 27:56Speaker 3: jump skyrocket instantaneously. And so the arguments being presented in
- 28:03Speaker 3: support of this bill are utterly disingenuous. It's we've got
- 28:06Speaker 3: to do it to give Trump tools that he doesn't need.
- 28:08Speaker 3: And by the way, he doesn't want. He said, don't
- 28:11Speaker 3: pass a bad bill. I don't want this bill. I
- 28:13Speaker 3: don't need those tools. And yet the proponents of the
- 28:16Speaker 3: bill are saying that we should do it anyway.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Final question on this, and that goes back to something
- 28:21Speaker 2: you mentioned earlier when you were talking about the image
- 28:24Speaker 2: of those legal immigrants who had beaten the new York
- 28:28Speaker 2: Police Department officer, they get out of jail, apparently they
- 28:33Speaker 2: get to go on the run and get on a
- 28:34Speaker 2: bus that was from Catholic charities from what we've been told,
- 28:37Speaker 2: and headed to California by by the way, lying about
- 28:40Speaker 2: their name. Shocker there. And this is the world that
- 28:44Speaker 2: we have now. And you mentioned quickly you said this
- 28:49Speaker 2: needs to be the center of the campaign. When you
- 28:51Speaker 2: say that, that's not just the presidential you're talking about
- 28:55Speaker 2: everyone that's running for office that's a conservative, and not
- 28:59Speaker 2: even just running for federal office. This is a state's
- 29:03Speaker 2: issue very much as well, no matter where you are
- 29:06Speaker 2: in the country.
- 29:07Speaker 3: Absolutely yes, and understand how spectacularly stupid what Senate Republican
- 29:15Speaker 3: leadership is doing. This is the number one issue in
- 29:18Speaker 3: the country. People are furious, they understand Joe Biden created it.
- 29:22Speaker 3: I've asked leadership. I've turned to Mitch and said, Mitch,
- 29:26Speaker 3: tell me how this bill. In what universe does this
- 29:29Speaker 3: bill pass the House? And if the answer is it doesn't,
- 29:34Speaker 3: then what is accomplish by forcing a vote on this
- 29:36Speaker 3: bill that will split our conference that a bunch of
- 29:39Speaker 3: Republicans were self righteously vote yes. Others myself included will
- 29:43Speaker 3: vote no, what is accomplished, and they give no answer
- 29:47Speaker 3: to that. They don't have a response. But here's really
- 29:49Speaker 3: what's accomplished. It is all about political messaging. This enables
- 29:54Speaker 3: Chuck Schumer, It enables every Democrat running for reelection. It
- 29:58Speaker 3: enables Joe Biden to say number one to not secure
- 30:02Speaker 3: the border, to leave the crisis exactly as it is,
- 30:05Speaker 3: but number two to say, well, we wanted to secure
- 30:07Speaker 3: the border, but the Republicans stopped us. This is all
- 30:12Speaker 3: about giving political cover for Democrats. And I'll tell you
- 30:16Speaker 3: why Republican leadership in the Senate wants to ram this
- 30:19Speaker 3: through in the Senate. And listen, they probably can get
- 30:21Speaker 3: the votes in the Senate. They'll get all the Democrats,
- 30:24Speaker 3: and they'll get a dozen or more Republicans in the
- 30:27Speaker 3: Senate that will pass it in the Senate. The reason
- 30:30Speaker 3: they want to do it is then once they've passed
- 30:33Speaker 3: it in the Senate, use it as a club to
- 30:36Speaker 3: beat the crap out of House Republicans and to defeat
- 30:40Speaker 3: the House Republican majority. It is literally Senate Republican leadership
- 30:45Speaker 3: helping the Democrats in the House because every Democrat in
- 30:48Speaker 3: the House will say, well, gosh, we had a bill
- 30:51Speaker 3: that would have stopped illegal immigration, but you know you
- 30:54Speaker 3: Republicans didn't want to do it. And I will tell
- 30:56Speaker 3: you the argument that is making me most angry. They're
- 31:00Speaker 3: a number of my Senate Republican colleagues are going out
- 31:03Speaker 3: to reporters and they're puffing out their chests and explaining
- 31:06Speaker 3: what self righteously, what great statesmen they are, and they say,
- 31:12Speaker 3: the only reason someone's opposing this is that quote. We
- 31:17Speaker 3: want the issue rather than to solve it, so they're
- 31:20Speaker 3: blaming it on Trump. They say, everyone opposes this, Billy,
- 31:23Speaker 3: you're just taking Trump's orders, and it's because we don't
- 31:26Speaker 3: want to secure the border. We want it to remain
- 31:29Speaker 3: bad in order to be able to campaign on it.
- 31:32Speaker 3: And I will tell you this past week, I yelled
- 31:36Speaker 3: at my colleagues. I said, screw you, because I want
- 31:40Speaker 3: to secure the border desperately, and the reason I oppose
- 31:44Speaker 3: this is it does not do that. But I said,
- 31:47Speaker 3: you know what you're doing. You are reading Chuck Schumer's
- 31:51Speaker 3: talking points, and your lie will be used to re
- 31:57Speaker 3: elect Democrats to the Senate. In the House, you're not
- 32:01Speaker 3: even you're simply being useful idiots and Sadly, they have
- 32:07Speaker 3: no response to that. They just go back out and
- 32:10Speaker 3: tell the reporters the same damn thing all over again.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with you.
- 32:13Speaker 2: I think this is the issue of the year right
- 32:16Speaker 2: now national security standpoint. We talked about the illegal immigrants
- 32:20Speaker 2: on the Tarif Squatch lists coming across the southern border
- 32:22Speaker 2: as well.
- 32:22Speaker 1: We're gonna keep covering it for you.
- 32:24Speaker 2: That's why we do this show three days a week, Monday,

- 32:50Speaker 2: you back here on Wednesday morning.
