Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Direct from Hollywood with Ryan Seacrest.
- 0:03Speaker 2: One of the most talked about TV shows right now
- 0:05Speaker 2: continues to be one that hasn't aired a new episode
- 0:08Speaker 2: since twenty nineteen. It's Suits, the legal drama has found
- 0:11Speaker 2: a new and massive audience since arriving on Netflix this summer,
- 0:14Speaker 2: breaking many streaming records for pre existing content, But It's
- 0:17Speaker 2: writer producer Aaron Korsch tells The Hollywood Reporter this is
- 0:21Speaker 2: not the first time he's been shocked by his own creation,
- 0:24Speaker 2: because Aaron didn't even intend to sell the show in
- 0:27Speaker 2: the first place, and only wrote the pilot as a
- 0:29Speaker 2: writing sample. On top of that, it wasn't even a
- 0:32Speaker 2: legal drama, he says. I wanted to be a comedy
- 0:34Speaker 2: writer at the time, so I sat down to write
- 0:36Speaker 2: something in the tone of Entourage, But on Wall Street
- 0:39Speaker 2: what emerged was more dramatic. They were bankers. Originally at
- 0:43Speaker 2: the time, no one was going to buy a Wall
- 0:45Speaker 2: Street show, but that didn't matter. I didn't think in
- 0:47Speaker 2: a million years anybody would even buy it, but my
- 0:49Speaker 2: manager loved it and he said he could sell it.
- 0:51Speaker 2: We also benefited greatly moving from Wall Street to Lawyers
- 0:54Speaker 2: because it raised the stags. Suits is on Netflix and Peacock.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Now that's direct from Hollywood.
