- 0:02A pee, pee pee. A Dicks in the birds.
- 0:07Hello everyone, and welcome to a no latency Q&A.
- 0:13As we get close to the end of Season 2, we thought it'd be
- 0:15about time to sit down with the cast and have a few words.
- 0:20So we're going to do that with some questions that have been
- 0:23submitted by some tunes on the Discord, some people on the
- 0:26Patreon, some people in DMS on Blue Sky, and even on Instagram
- 0:31as well and through our website. There's lots of ways to ask us
- 0:34questions, so if you have one, you can find a form on our
- 0:38website or just come and ask us in the Discord.
- 0:42We'd like to do Q&A's more, but we also like playing Cyberpunk,
- 0:46so we don't do them very often. All right, let's introduce
- 0:50ourselves after this. Hello everybody.
- 0:58I'm Paris Aerosmith, otherwise known as Binary Dragon, and I am
- 1:02the GM. Who's next?
- 1:06Well, my name is Spoon and I play Jebediah, and every once in
- 1:12a while when I remember, I also play Sloan.
- 1:17I'm Jade, I play Iona and make decisions for Vendel.
- 1:28Hello everybody. Oh, I was I knew that was going
- 1:31to happen and I knew there would there I was like who's going to
- 1:34go next? I'll go next.
- 1:38Greetings everybody. Hello.
- 1:40I am Tracy, also known as mismatch tech, and I am VV, our
- 1:44resident Med tech. Also at one point press, but
- 1:49that's. At one point, press the solo.
- 1:51Yeah, which they they have come back Dragon.
- 1:54Corn. Yes, yes.
- 1:56I'm going to try and get that's it's very difficult footage to
- 1:59work with. We'll see.
- 2:00We'll see Patreon. We'll see.
- 2:03Well, everybody, we've got your questions and we've got retro.
- 2:07We've got Retro because I'm an asshole Retro.
- 2:12Oh sorry I I just thought I was just forgotten.
- 2:15What? Whoops.
- 2:17That's my bad. Come on, Evan, introduce.
- 2:21Hi. Hi, I'm Retro the the forgotten
- 2:24member of of this troop. I just verbally got jousted by
- 2:29our resident Med tech and then forgotten by the the GM Yeah.
- 2:36Love you all. Hi.
- 2:40Oh hey, love you. Love you.
- 2:47Yeah, but Evan, you are obviously you play retro.
- 2:51I do. I do today.
- 2:53But you also run Save the D8 with Jade.
- 2:56I do. I run Save the D8 with Jade and
- 3:00a bunch of my other friends, and we make D&D stuff, which is the
- 3:05antithesis to this show. So.
- 3:07Right. Yeah.
- 3:10And also to to fly back. Tracy also makes things that
- 3:13aren't cyberpunk over at Maggie RPG, so you can check out all of
- 3:17that stuff and links to all of the stuff that we're in and all
- 3:20of our socials in the podcast description below.
- 3:27Without without further ignoring people, my apologies, Evan.
- 3:31We're going to move on to a few questions.
- 3:34I'm going to go with our with one of our a a great first
- 3:38question from DJ on Patreon who asked us through Discord, one of
- 3:45our patrons. DJ is such a tune.
- 3:47DJ is a tune, you are correct. Question for all for your
- 3:51original concept for your character to to where they are
- 3:54now. How big of a change has your
- 3:56character gone through? Anyone want to go first?
- 4:01Yeah, sure. I'll go first.
- 4:03Yeah, my character has had a, A pretty big change in my opinion
- 4:10from where I started Retro originally was going to be super
- 4:17anti corpo, hates everything that's, you know, like super
- 4:23popular, like very, very punk. You know, the anti culture.
- 4:30And overtime, Retro as he is, you know, gained popularity in
- 4:40doing edge running jobs and making a lot more money and such
- 4:44has really started to actually drift more towards, I guess the
- 4:50corporal side. As I've noticed, 'cause I mean,
- 4:53if, if, if, if fans remember, you know, earlier ones, there
- 4:57was a time when, you know, Retro almost got literally killed by 9
- 5:04for one to destroy Biotechnica secrets.
- 5:08And now it's just kind of like 9's.
- 5:10Fault. No, it's not just Nine's fault
- 5:13you you also weren't allowed to leave yet, if I remember
- 5:18correctly. This it's it's.
- 5:21It's not exactly how I wanted Retro to go.
- 5:27However, the beauty with any TTRPG and I think it's really
- 5:33great, is that I naturally through the game and so forth
- 5:38have changed and not like felt forced.
- 5:41It just kind of when does it goes.
- 5:44So I'm I'm not angry that it I did.
- 5:48I'm not one of my original ideas and I'm glad that Retro has
- 5:51evolved to who he is now. Follow up question.
- 5:56Yes, Jeff. Should we differentiate the
- 5:59difference between kind of like finding your character and how
- 6:04your character has changed? Or like developed, yeah.
- 6:09Or developed, you know what I mean?
- 6:10Like, yeah, 'cause like for me for, for, for Jeb it, I
- 6:14definitely had like a different kind of idea at the beginning
- 6:18that I thought is what Jeb was going to be.
- 6:21But like, as it always is in these kinds of in RPGs,
- 6:24generally, at least for in my experience, the more you play
- 6:28them, it kind of takes like maybe four or five sessions to
- 6:31kind of like fully understand that character and like make all
- 6:36those tiny decisions that then develop into a fully fledged
- 6:42character. So like I originally Jeb was
- 6:44going to be like not anti technology, just like, Nah, I
- 6:50don't, I don't do that, that stuff.
- 6:51I like the old way of doing things, you know?
- 6:54And and but he became but that kind of turned into Jeb being
- 7:03dumb. So.
- 7:10I wouldn't say that that is like progression or like how it how
- 7:13my character has changed in playing the game.
- 7:16That's just kind of how it changed in the very first like
- 7:22four or five sessions and understanding the character.
- 7:27Well, I'm, I feel a very similar way.
- 7:31When I first started Iona, I was like, OK, I, well, whenever I
- 7:36start a new character that I take really seriously, I'm like,
- 7:38OK, I'm going to be super, super like cut and dry, super black
- 7:43and white. Like this is this is a very
- 7:46severe vision of my character. And then I'm just not like that.
- 7:51And so the more that I play the character, the more of like the
- 7:55squishy human being underneath bleeds through.
- 7:58So I feel like as as time has gone on, the severe Iona that we
- 8:04started with has has kind of like mushed into a much softer
- 8:11human being. So yeah.
- 8:14So that hard vision, I think kind of like faded away.
- 8:20Also, at any point, if anybody wants to add this piece from
- 8:23Truthless, Truthless to Tracy specifically, which is why I'm
- 8:27adding it. I yes, I can I.
- 8:30Can do that. All right, go on, Evan.
- 8:37For Tracy, how did you think Phoebe's character arc is
- 8:40progressing? Do you think she is going to end
- 8:43up full on villain arc? And does she still like a domino
- 8:47despite the mummy comment? It does.
- 8:52Yes, so this even like plays into a bit of the previous
- 8:57question of like yeah, I think Vivi has.
- 9:02Vivi's character arc has certainly progressed in
- 9:06something I didn't expect, but I really like it.
- 9:09I didn't expect Vivi to be so villain esque.
- 9:12I was a member of like anti hero esque though.
- 9:16I think we all have that in some way 'cause it's, you know, it's
- 9:20Night City and you're not necessarily playing a plucky
- 9:24adventures, you're playing like hardened edge runners in a dark
- 9:29city where there's no good and evil, it's morally Gray,
- 9:32etcetera, etcetera. So but with all of that, Phoebe
- 9:36has definitely made some questionable choices.
- 9:41Do I think she's going to be in a full villain?
- 9:44I don't know. I I really like this like the,
- 9:46the Frankenstein kind of thing and that how that's gone.
- 9:51I don't think she would become like a full villain cause to me
- 9:54like the villains is like joining the corpo, like joining
- 9:59biotechnic. Oh no, I guess.
- 10:01That's kind of excuse me right here.
- 10:05Becoming ACEO of Biotechnica or something, or joining Arisaka or
- 10:08something like that? Rightfully so, that's a good
- 10:13year to have. Yeah, and the mommy comment from
- 10:17Domino, I think Vivi still has a crush on Domino, but now she's
- 10:24like, not sure if Domino understands.
- 10:28Anything. Feelings, the reciprocation of
- 10:32those feelings, which makes sense, but you know it.
- 10:36I think it's cute for her to just have like a little crush.
- 10:38So yeah. Thank you Truthless for that
- 10:41extra question. Thank you, Truthless.
- 10:44Thank you, truthless. I'm actually going to answer for
- 10:46Vendel in terms of the the emotional side of Vendel.
- 10:50Vendel was interesting because at first I just kind of thought
- 10:55they'd be like an an aloof kind of quiet back character that was
- 10:59just purely puppeted by Jade. And very quickly we just didn't
- 11:03like that. So I just sort of started using
- 11:05Bendel to nudge, but in a very like they have a unique way of
- 11:08looking at the universe kind of way.
- 11:11And I don't know when we fully agreed on that, Jade, you know?
- 11:18I love, I love it as the you use it as your own tool because
- 11:22Vendel will be like, hey guys, I think there's something over
- 11:25here we might need to look at. Have you considered coming this
- 11:29way? Can you say the door is locked?
- 11:36Dora the Explorer. It's quite funny, but Vendel has
- 11:40a has your your personal sense of humour I think has bled a lot
- 11:45into Vendel as well, which has made them so delightful.
- 11:53They are delightful to play with.
- 11:56We've got our next question from Marion on Instagram.
- 12:02What spin off 80s or 90s TV show would your character fit right
- 12:05into? A little fun one less, less
- 12:09intense. Oh man, I don't know enough
- 12:13about 80s or 90s. There's neither new one I.
- 12:16Was just are there any good like medical dramas from the 80s and
- 12:20I can only think of like. More Grey's Anatomy, yeah.
- 12:23I. Was going to say.
- 12:26Yeah. Is that?
- 12:27Yeah, No, no VV would fit in house.
- 12:33Yeah, yeah. The more like dramatic.
- 12:36Yeah, Dramatized. Yeah, with, yes.
- 12:40Yeah. Well, now I got to do a quick
- 12:44search. Hold on.
- 12:47In the meantime, if you, if you want to get that kind of vibe of
- 12:49like, I don't know, like an 80s or 90s like road trip movie TV
- 12:54show, you can check out the Jeb and Retro Show episodes have
- 12:58already begun. You can find it exclusively on
- 13:03our patron in Patreon. Patreon, please go to our
- 13:09Patreon. It's really fun.
- 13:10There's like fun stuff. Evan's written a bunch of
- 13:12documents. We just released one that's out
- 13:15by the time this recording comes out.
- 13:16You can come, you can go and check it out.
- 13:19Also, to answer your question, Marian, I had to look it up, but
- 13:23I was right. Cowboy Bebop did start airing in
- 13:27the 90s. So Boom Jebs and Cowboy Bebop, I
- 13:30could totally see that. Yes, I can.
- 13:32I can see there's a bounty hunter there, yeah.
- 13:34Yeah, yeah, yeah, I suppose. Like, yeah, yeah.
- 13:36Like classic animes are included in this question.
- 13:38Like where do you fit? I guess, well, I mean, I'm
- 13:48trying to think if there's any other one, but there's really
- 13:50only one in that keeps coming to mind.
- 13:52And The Young and the Restless, really.
- 13:55Yes. Yeah, I think, I think I would
- 13:59be a titular character in in that still running nowadays, I
- 14:05think. Yeah, yeah, it is madly.
- 14:10Just for fun, I'm going to say Alf.
- 14:18I feel like Iona would fit right into, not to be very cyberpunky,
- 14:22but like I know it's also a movie, but The Fifth Element.
- 14:28Oh, nice. Well, yeah.
- 14:30So. Yeah, I think you'd fit in that
- 14:33like beautifully. You know, it's, you know what, a
- 14:38small side pageant. Actually since you just brought
- 14:40that up, I have watched that movie numerous times and it
- 14:45wasn't till I recently watched it with somebody that the the
- 14:52hat that that guy wears when trying to rob Bruce Willis is
- 14:57actually just a picture of the empty hallway.
- 15:00I never clocked that until they pointed that out to.
- 15:04Me. I posted the next question in
- 15:05our discord. Oh, I'll, I'll take it from you,
- 15:10would you? This goes out to all of you.
- 15:14Would you enjoy being around your character?
- 15:22No. All right, this is a trick
- 15:25question because because if suddenly my the character that I
- 15:32created, I was able to hang out with, I'd have so many questions
- 15:37like how did you come into being?
- 15:39Did I just happen to create a creation that that lines up
- 15:45perfectly with this person that I'm meeting, or is this like a
- 15:48time skip situation in which I am like now in cyberpunk also?
- 15:55That seems terrible, to be honest, but I guess we're
- 15:57getting there slowly in real life, so yeah.
- 15:59Maybe it's also I've got really, really bad news for you, because
- 16:04if you were hanging out with yourself, Jeb would have no
- 16:07answers to any of those questions.
- 16:10All that is also. True.
- 16:12I don't know. Like he wouldn't know.
- 16:16I could ask him questions that I don't even know the answer to
- 16:20about his back story, and then I would know that and to be able
- 16:24to use that in the show so you'd.
- 16:26Use you'd use this event to cheat at at playing Cyberpunk.
- 16:32Wow. Cheat at writing a character.
- 16:35That's so funny. Writing is hard.
- 16:39I'm just going to RIP a a a like a a tear in space-time and talk
- 16:43to a fictional character in another dimension that's.
- 16:46The only way. Tracy I mean, I I would be happy
- 16:55to be around VV. You know, VV seems like a party
- 16:59not not not to. VV seems like a fun time.
- 17:03Yeah, VV. Got a good vibe.
- 17:05Yeah, yeah. Now you know other members of
- 17:09the of the group. I don't know, just.
- 17:13Saying not naming any names, name names, name names.
- 17:19I mean. OK.
- 17:23Look, look. Let's look, let's just be
- 17:26honest. Nobody wants to hang out with
- 17:27retro. If retro is real, nobody who
- 17:29does retro is a loud braggart who would just light up in your
- 17:37house whether you said it was OK or not.
- 17:40Just do drugs, probably steal shit from you when you're not
- 17:44looking and and if you you know try to call them out would just
- 17:49gaslight you so no. I think I want to hang out with
- 17:55Vendel. I think Vendel seems.
- 17:57Oh yeah, Vendel also seems chill.
- 17:59Iona can stick around, she's got big boobs.
- 18:05I love me some big. Boobs.
- 18:06I like some big boobas. I'll I'll I'll shake her hands.
- 18:12Missed Great question thank you. Oh no, you're right.
- 18:16I would try to for sure about. I'm like.
- 18:19Hello, Miss. Hello, ma'am.
- 18:23Yes, again, thank you. Missed on Discord, one of our
- 18:26Patreon supporters. We appreciate it alright, this
- 18:29one is anonymous from our web, our website of website website.
- 18:36Are any of the characters canonically queer?
- 18:39And also to add, that includes are any of the characters ace
- 18:43'cause we that actually came up recently in the discord?
- 18:47Vivi is bisexual, so yes. I think I knew that.
- 18:53Yes, I think we talked, we did talk about this at some point.
- 18:57Yeah, because V VS flirted with like fems all over the shop.
- 19:00Absolutely. Yeah, Yeah, yeah, yes.
- 19:02Yeah, Jeb. Straight Boring.
- 19:06Yes. Yes, he is.
- 19:10You got to have one. You're going to have the token
- 19:12strike. Token strike guy Iona is gender
- 19:18non conforming and I believe ace.
- 19:21Yes, I believe ace as well. That was that's what the
- 19:24conversation in the Discord was, was sort of a congratulations
- 19:27for sort of stepping into the sexual world a little bit from
- 19:30the sort of ace vibe that. Yeah, that validity, Yeah, in
- 19:36media. Validity Retro's key day.
- 19:43Yeah, yes, I mean, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm unsure about if retro
- 19:49is queer only because I'm, I'm, I'm still trying to like, you
- 19:58know, fully understand it and I don't want to just say that, you
- 20:03know, retro is if they're not, I'll just say it.
- 20:06So I would say retro definitely is straight.
- 20:11Retro likes women, but retro can appreciate.
- 20:15A male form. And you know, if say, you know,
- 20:20Brad Pitt was to come up and be like, hey, you know, you want to
- 20:24give me a handy in the back, you'd probably say yeah.
- 20:28Fair enough. I.
- 20:28Think that that goes along with the, you know, like I feel like
- 20:32Jed would be like, I ain't gay, but I'm not blind.
- 20:35That's a good looking man. Yeah, right.
- 20:37Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't think any.
- 20:40I don't think we've I mean, why would we?
- 20:42There's no point in having a homophobic character on the
- 20:44show, but I don't think we have one.
- 20:47Vendel's always been like non binary in general because it was
- 20:51just more fun to just have like a floppy human.
- 20:54But I'm I'm I'm still like, and this is more up because
- 20:57honestly, this is more of a Jade decision.
- 20:59I'm unsure if they're non binary or actually just sort of or you
- 21:03can be pansexual and non binary at the same time, I suppose, but
- 21:06I don't I don't think they have a gender that they prefer.
- 21:08They're just like, Oh, sexy touch.
- 21:11I agree, I would say non binary pansexual sounds right up their
- 21:16alley. Yeah, yeah, people like humans.
- 21:25Especially can we, can we just have a moment of silence to just
- 21:30think about just all the sexiness that we've had so far
- 21:33in the podcast? Yeah, we've we've had some fun
- 21:37sexiness. There's a.
- 21:44Moment of down silence. 3000 miles of open Rd.
- 21:52The Japan Retro Show. Oh man, this is going to be
- 21:55tough. Join Jeff.
- 21:56Wakey wakey, sleepy Princess. And retro.
- 22:00I did not agree to this, Jeff. On the road trip of a lifetime.
- 22:05Oh yeah, she did. Vans got some shoes on the mix.
- 22:08No, it was the second car to the left.
- 22:11As they take on Route 66. The Japan Retro Show.
- 22:16Brought to you. By no latency.
- 22:20I hate Rd. trips. Listen to the Jab and Retro Show
- 22:23on Spotify with your Patreon membership at patreon.com/no
- 22:29Latency, and check out more at nolatencypodcast.com.
- 22:38So much sexiness. So sexy it's killed us all.
- 22:44Well, that here we go. I have a question for everybody.
- 22:46Who's the sexiest character? Who's the sexiest?
- 22:50Character Sexiest character The Collector.
- 22:53The. Collector.
- 22:55The silver fox that is the collector, Yeah.
- 22:59I could see that, yeah. But didn't we make Domino like
- 23:04very like conventionally attractive like all yes, we put
- 23:08all of the parts together to make him an extremely like
- 23:10attractive. Yeah, he's hot Frankenstein's
- 23:12monster. Yeah, he's he's the Jacob, O
- 23:15Lordy Frankenstein. Monster if he built him so.
- 23:20Yeah. So he built.
- 23:23Is what you're saying. Oh yeah, he's stacked.
- 23:26He's got. Exactly.
- 23:27He's. Got 2 sets of arms so.
- 23:30He's just a hot guy built from lesser hot guys.
- 23:35Yes. Yes.
- 23:39Talking of Domino, there's a question from Mist, one of my
- 23:42Patriot supporters, through Discord.
- 23:45What do you all think? What do they think?
- 23:49They being you guys? Wow, this is badly worded.
- 23:53What do they think about? Sorry, Mist, What do you think
- 23:58about Domino? What is their opinion of Domino
- 24:00and his motivations, of the Syndicate and his motivations
- 24:04and of the Syndicate? Second, what do you think about
- 24:07yourselves at this point in the story?
- 24:09What everyone has done or continues to do the horrific
- 24:12things? Do you see yourselves as good
- 24:14people in your PCs, victims of circumstance, or just an
- 24:18expected inhabitant of Night City's population as it brings
- 24:22you Into Darkness? I added that last bit Exodus.
- 24:28I like how a lot of these questions are like questions
- 24:31that we should address in the fiction.
- 24:35Like it would be interesting to have this conversation in in
- 24:39character and like for a reason and then use these as thematic
- 24:45building blocks to tell us about our characters and the story.
- 24:49I mean also. Jeb is not so sure about Domino.
- 24:53He's kind of like, hmm, this is kind of a weird guy.
- 24:55But like, you know, there's just no reason to dislike.
- 24:57I'm just kind of like, hmm, kind of kind of a little weird.
- 24:59Maybe at arm's length for now, but here's a question to your
- 25:03question. Is this what does the player
- 25:07think about their characters, which is kind of like the
- 25:10previous question. So I'm going to answer this as
- 25:12what do the characters think about the characters?
- 25:15And so I think Jeb is pretty happy with himself, doesn't
- 25:18really see it, see it one way or another.
- 25:20He's probably thinks of himself as like a bit of a, as you said,
- 25:25a victim of circumstance, but mostly like he's trying to be a
- 25:27little better. You know, he's recently been
- 25:29trying to be like, we don't necessarily need to use violence
- 25:33to solve every problem. And maybe that's makes the
- 25:37better the world a better place with the fewer people that
- 25:40choose violence. Maybe that makes the world
- 25:42better. But we'll see.
- 25:44Maybe you do need to shoot some bad people sometimes.
- 25:48It's unclear. Yeah, I do wonder if we'll like
- 25:53ever have a crisis of conscience among the group or even among
- 25:59each other amongst ourselves, if that'll ever come up.
- 26:06It it. It would be interesting to
- 26:08analyze that in character, I think because we haven't really
- 26:12done a lot of self occasionally. Actually, we occasionally do
- 26:15have some self reflection, but maybe we can explore that deeper
- 26:19at some point because I think that would be really cool.
- 26:21Yep, it's almost like the show's kind of gearing towards
- 26:25questions that are unanswered. I don't know, I I find this
- 26:32question to be pretty difficult because for being a character
- 26:38for for playing as a character, even if you're being as an evil
- 26:41character kind of deal, I don't think anybody really perceives
- 26:45themselves as being evil. Or like when you do, you kind of
- 26:49come off as this like over the top cartoony kind of deal.
- 26:53Yeah, mustache trolling, right. And I've been finding myself
- 26:58like starting to shy away from the, the, the the essence of the
- 27:05alignment chart that I is usually seen for TTRPGS because
- 27:10I think that that falls more into a crutch of my character is
- 27:14supposed to be this. So this is what they do kind of
- 27:16deal. And however, like, again, it's
- 27:19going to be off of perception. So like you could have, I mean,
- 27:23I'm sorry to go into like D&D for this, but it's the best way
- 27:25for me to put it. So like you could have a palate
- 27:27in who's like, I'm for my God. And I want to, you know, spread
- 27:32the name and, you know, for all the followers, however they
- 27:36could be doing, you know, something of like annihilating
- 27:40an entire demonic race who doesn't believe in that and
- 27:44that's just perceived as evil by them.
- 27:46So then in that case, you're the sense of alignment really does
- 27:50just go off of a perception from which side that it is.
- 27:53And nobody ever really wants to see themselves as being evil.
- 27:57I personally think, especially when it comes within cyberpunk
- 28:03that we everybody like kind of wants to envision themselves as
- 28:07this, you know, folk hero within the the city.
- 28:11But I think over time, and I think really doing jobs within
- 28:15the city, I think you'll really come to find out the the
- 28:18corruption that is in the city will end up infecting you at
- 28:23some point. And you're going to have to
- 28:25make. And it's not, it's not Even so
- 28:28much of making you do bad things.
- 28:30It's then you having to make justification in your own mind
- 28:34of why that was OK to do. Yeah, yeah, we'll put snap,
- 28:38snap, snap, snap, snap. Snap snap, snap, snap.
- 28:47Is that everybody? I think that Domino has his own
- 28:54intentions that I believe are good.
- 28:59So I'm following him. Yeah, because I trust him.
- 29:03What? If domino ends up like becoming.
- 29:07There are little, there are little inklings.
- 29:09Every once in a while we'll be standing here.
- 29:12We'll be standing here as a team and we look over at Domino and
- 29:14you're like, is this? Is there something going on
- 29:18there? Yeah.
- 29:20Did we do that or was he? Just like that all along.
- 29:26So yeah, there is that. Nature versus nurture.
- 29:30I don't know what y'all are talking about.
- 29:32That handsome fella can do whatever he wants.
- 29:36Fair enough. I'll say nothing because
- 29:39obviously I know the answers to these questions and those are
- 29:45things, Spoon, that we will keep in the show.
- 29:47How about that, Dale? Love that.
- 29:50Cool. This one.
- 29:51This one actually came through the website.
- 29:53It's not a question, but it is very cool.
- 29:57If you ever have an idea that you think would be cool on the
- 29:59show, please submit it like this or like let us know in the
- 30:02discord because like it's a very cool home brew and also the
- 30:06person that's not a real name, but that's a person that sends
- 30:11us a message. Abby Normal.
- 30:13Abby Normal. Abby Normal from the from the.
- 30:16Website. Love Abby.
- 30:19You know Abby Normal from the website.
- 30:22Yeah from nolatencypodcast.com check it out right now.
- 30:25Shameless plaque. Not a question but an idea for a
- 30:28new blade for Vendel, which they did spell miss.
- 30:30Misspell and it's OK, everybody misspells Vendel.
- 30:34If Retro got hold of a memorial token, Iona has 1, he could
- 30:37possibly hack it so that the hologram makes the blade look
- 30:42like it's surrounded by sakura blossoms falling around it.
- 30:45It would be an interesting way to memorialize Sano the blade.
- 30:48Straight edge. That's really cute, that.
- 30:54Is really. Cute.
- 30:55Aw, that's very sweet, that. Is that's really sweet.
- 30:59Yeah. That'd be rad.
- 31:00But also I'm thinking because I'm AGM, what mechanic does that
- 31:06add? So this is my addition to the
- 31:07question. What mechanic do you think that
- 31:09adds to the blade? Cool.
- 31:14Obviously. Not just like wardrobe and
- 31:17style, but is there like a, is there like a fun thing that that
- 31:19could do like in combat or as stealth or as like?
- 31:23What? Cyberpunk is famously style over
- 31:28substance so it doesn't have to do shit.
- 31:32Is this true? It's a very cool, very cool
- 31:37suggestion through the website, so I appreciate it.
- 31:39It's really neat. I, I don't know if it
- 31:41necessarily needs to, you know, add anything of like a bonus or
- 31:45something to that, but I think just having that itself is
- 31:51fodder for just role play all together.
- 31:54Having having something like that where you've stylized your
- 31:57weapon into having looking like sakura blossoms, where whenever
- 32:03you swing it adds to, you know, one, the visual appeal.
- 32:08I don't think anybody was normally going to see that.
- 32:11Two, it then also creates itself as a, a, a character extension.
- 32:18Yeah, everything doesn't need to, I don't think needs to have
- 32:21some kind of extra bonus. I think that, you know,
- 32:24sometimes just having something cool like that just help adds
- 32:28the fun. But also, to be fair, it totally
- 32:30could and Paris coming from the the, you know, other side of the
- 32:34screen DM mode and like game design mode could do something
- 32:39cool, could do something like, I don't know, maybe it like when
- 32:42the the flower petals start falling, it's like mesmerizing,
- 32:46you know, and they're like, Oh my God, it's so beautiful.
- 32:48I have a sense of calm. Come over me.
- 32:49Boom, you got hit. There goes your head.
- 32:58We've got a question which I didn't put in Discord but I
- 32:59will. I will ask it because I'm going
- 33:01to answer it very quickly from Christopher, Christopher Samuski
- 33:05from on from the website. What system aids do we use?
- 33:08Rod 20, sub punk, Red companion app, etcetera.
- 33:11Would love some background on how our game is set up.
- 33:17We do different things for panels that we do for when we
- 33:22record the show like this. We use roll 20 for the most
- 33:27part, but do you guys use any other tools?
- 33:31Demiplane. Now that Demiplane has the
- 33:37ability to build character sheets for Cyberpunk Red, it's
- 33:42very useful. I'm a big fan of Demiplane
- 33:44because they make it very easy to build a character sheet.
- 33:50Like it kind of takes you through it where you don't even
- 33:52have to like do the calculations yourself.
- 33:57They have it all like laid out for you.
- 33:58And same thing for when it like you get experience and you want
- 34:01to spend the experience. I just find it much easier to
- 34:03track that on demiplane personally.
- 34:06Oh, that's what you like about Demiplane?
- 34:08Yes, and the Nexus is amazing like being able to like just
- 34:16search up things. They just have a very great
- 34:19comprehensive Nexus for Cyberpunk RED to search up like
- 34:25things when you need it on the fly rather than like scouring
- 34:28through books. Yeah, big fan.
- 34:32No, I was going to agree with. Full disclosure, both Tracy and
- 34:34I have are authors of some of those books, which I think
- 34:37legally we have to say, but we are not sponsored at this
- 34:40particular moment in time, I don't believe, but if we are,
- 34:42there'll be a discount code below.
- 34:46Well, what are the other things that I also like about Demi
- 34:49plane? Because I was also going to say
- 34:50the Nexus before you caught me, Tracy.
- 34:53Was that in in the Demi plane? On the character sheet, it also
- 34:59gives you a list of actions that you can do.
- 35:02And there's I just checking the, the amount of actions on the
- 35:06demiplane compared to like what the regular paper sheets that we
- 35:10have and such and explains everything of what they do.
- 35:13And it's already pre set up is amazing.
- 35:16I, I, I do believe there was a, a recent recording that we did
- 35:22that I was using, I was using demiplane and I was like, can I
- 35:26do this? Because it's on the sheet on
- 35:27demiplane that says that I'm allowed to do it.
- 35:30Yeah. And yes, as far as other tools,
- 35:33and hopefully I don't sound too robotic because I seem to be
- 35:36having a little Internet hiccup. The when we do meet in person
- 35:44for like our panels and, and our games that we run at like Comic
- 35:47Con and things like that. We do a lot of us do use the
- 35:49Cyberpunk Red companion app. So we don't have to like bring
- 35:54like a laptop or a tablet or something.
- 35:56It's like very easy on mobile. They have a great mobile app.
- 36:00This is, I'm just a big fan. I I love these great tools that
- 36:04that are made for cyberpunk. It just makes like there's so
- 36:07many good tools for Cyberpunk Red and it makes it so easy to
- 36:10run and play no matter how you want to do it.
- 36:13So I would consider that 'cause it, it's another one where it
- 36:15builds the character for you very, very easily and very easy
- 36:19to access, very easy to use. So we we are hashtag blessed to
- 36:24have great tools for Cyberpunk Red.
- 36:27The the, the, the tool I like from the GM side.
- 36:30I don't know if you've played it around with it much, Tracy, have
- 36:34you? Yes, I have actually, yeah.
- 36:38It's pretty great. It's fantastic.
- 36:39I love, I love the I love being able to because when we get
- 36:42guests on the show, I just say, hey, download the companion app
- 36:44because it's free. Create a character in here.
- 36:47They're like basic breakdowns and you put those in the first
- 36:50page and it follows along. And then I say, just send me the
- 36:52code and then I have it and I can go, Oh, you if they've done
- 36:55something wrong or whatever, I can like vet it for the, for the
- 36:59recording or whatever or the the panel.
- 37:01But apparently if you're on the same Wi-Fi network, you can also
- 37:05run initiative through it, which is pretty cool.
- 37:08So I. Didn't know that, that's
- 37:10awesome. 'Cause we tried to do it at
- 37:11Comic Con, but the Wi-Fi was terrible.
- 37:13No, we tried to do it at Dragon Con because we're all we're,
- 37:16we're travellers, we're around, you know, and we couldn't get it
- 37:20to work because the Wi-Fi dragon Dragon Con is a nightmare.
- 37:24But yeah, for for an in home game, I'd recommend using an app
- 37:27like especially the GM. It organises so much and with
- 37:30crunchy games like Cyberpunk, it makes the crunch very
- 37:34accessible, even if there is only one thing in education.
- 37:41Yes. Animal.
- 37:43Agree. Yeah, I think it's that Animal
- 37:45Handling's in a category and it's you're here.
- 37:47Yeah, at least on Roll 20. Good question.
- 37:50Thank you. Thank you very much,
- 37:52Christopher. But we're going to go scroll up
- 37:55a little bit. There's a question from DJ on
- 37:56Discord on the topic of dating. What would be each character's
- 38:01dream date? Just just someone who who likes
- 38:09to listen to my stories and and and enjoys being around me I
- 38:12suppose. A nice drive, Jeff, don't.
- 38:16Nice drive would be nice. Yeah, and someone who's not
- 38:20allergic to birds. Yeah, can you do?
- 38:24Are some people allergic to birds?
- 38:28Birds aren't real. That's true.
- 38:30You're not allergic to dinosaurs.
- 38:33Did you guys know that the birds in Fallout 4 aren't real
- 38:36canonically? Yeah.
- 38:38I did not know that until today. That's a side.
- 38:43That's a side thing. Don't worry about that.
- 38:46Jeff, Jeff, that's that. That's the joke.
- 38:48That's the joke. Because the whole birds aren't
- 38:50real on the Internet and they're all supposed to call it robots.
- 38:53Surveillance tools Vivi's ideal date?
- 39:00Some shopping. A little little shoppy at a cute
- 39:04little night market. Then you know that they're
- 39:10paying. Little shopping spree.
- 39:14Yellow shopping spree and then you know that we got to we got
- 39:19to stop for a little treat a little a little boba treat she.
- 39:24Can make profit as well. There's a lot of advantages of
- 39:31this. And then, you know, maybe a nice
- 39:35like rooftop view somewhere that like find a little spot to see
- 39:41the city with a nice view that that sounds like a great date
- 39:46that does. Sound nice.
- 39:47That does sound. Nice.
- 39:48I'm realizing just now that when they meant what is their date,
- 39:52they didn't mean the person, they meant the activity.
- 39:54But. I think that's a very gentle
- 39:59response, so I love it. My answer is my answer is April
- 40:0325th because it's not too hot and it's not too cold and all
- 40:05you need. Is a white jacket.
- 40:08No, I'm, I'm thinking 2 bottles of sanitized water.
- 40:12And if this is a dream, a dream date, what if we're what if
- 40:16we're in the great sterile expanse of space?
- 40:23I wanna like space. I do, unfortunately.
- 40:26I think I like space. We got a little taste of space
- 40:29and that's it. That was fun.
- 40:31I. Think it.
- 40:31I honestly think it was the adrenaline.
- 40:36From you, you had to stare into the abyss.
- 40:38Yeah, but Retro did. But listen to that episode.
- 40:46You might get it. You might get it.
- 40:47It's space. It was, it was a good episode.
- 40:49I loved that. That was a fun arc.
- 40:51I remember when I decided we were going to space and I was
- 40:54like, I don't know what they'll do, but they'll do something.
- 40:56And you did a lot of things. We did space.
- 40:59Yeah, I've got another question from Marion on the website.
- 41:04If you could have an item your character has used in real life,
- 41:08what would you want from their inventory?
- 41:12Can I can I have something from from Vendo go on?
- 41:15I would like the the roller, the rollerblade feet.
- 41:19You want the rollerblade feet. I imagine.
- 41:21Imagine if you don't have to clean out from in between your
- 41:24toes every day and you can just roll around wherever you go.
- 41:32It's like a yeah, adults are very cool when they wear Heelys,
- 41:35so. True fact, but.
- 41:38That didn't sound very nice. No, no, no.
- 41:41No, no, no, no. Here's the thing.
- 41:43I'm with, I'm with Jade. I'm with Jade.
- 41:45No, but like cool cyberfeed you need to.
- 41:46No, you're right. Just go full 90s with it.
- 41:49So like, you got the rollerblade feet, get the Janko jeans that
- 41:56you could fit like a whole PlayStation one in with several
- 42:00bracelets and a punk band T-shirt.
- 42:03Yeah, you can do. You can do Hot hot babe roller
- 42:08Derby cross leg summertime. Yeah, summer.
- 42:13Summer. With like a fisheye lens and a
- 42:15pole. Perfect.
- 42:18Yeah, that's. Me, it's so easy.
- 42:24It's the grappling of oh, sorry. No, you.
- 42:28No. Nobody let Tracy say the the
- 42:30hoverboard or the baseball bat. Nobody let her say.
- 42:33Anything. What are you going to do with
- 42:36that baseball bat, Tracy? Crack your heads, Yeah?
- 42:46Tracy. I was like, may I speak now?
- 42:51I wasn't even going to say the baseball bat or the hoverboard,
- 42:53although the hoverboard would probably be the most useful.
- 42:57The San Rue K8 Hello Kitty Ultra pistol, which fun fact, Retro
- 43:08actually 3D printed that IRL for Comic Con a few years ago.
- 43:14So it's almost like I do have it.
- 43:17Yeah, there is a, there is a physical version out there.
- 43:19There is. Wow.
- 43:22And you can check it out on our YouTube channel.
- 43:25We got we actually got a question in the in the websites
- 43:28about where to find Memento Job Part 2.
- 43:30It's actually our first Comic Con panel.
- 43:32You can find that on our YouTube channel.
- 43:34That's where you hear the end of that adventure.
- 43:36The idea when we made that was to get people to check out our
- 43:38YouTube channel. It sort of worked.
- 43:40I get why you couldn't find it, but I have added it to that
- 43:42episode's description to help others.
- 43:44So thanks for for calling me out on my bullshit.
- 43:47Well Retro, did you have something that you wanted from
- 43:52from the game? Yes, I would really like
- 44:01Eddie's. Yeah.
- 44:06Yeah, 'cause rich is fucking rich.
- 44:08A useless currency in for today I mean.
- 44:11Yeah, right. I mean, should I just go bucks?
- 44:13Should I just go ahead and just say I don't think anybody else
- 44:16here knows how much I have do it?
- 44:21How much you got? I have over 28,000 eddies, yeah.
- 44:25What? Yeah.
- 44:28Jeez. I just make everything.
- 44:30Why do I have to spend money on it when I can make it myself?
- 44:33Just been hoarding all of the the euro bucks that we've been
- 44:37making. Oh wait, Christmas happened.
- 44:39You have to pay rent, but yes. Yeah, I think that.
- 44:44I'm planning on investing a bunch of my money into Pokémon
- 44:52packs and to start popping them, popping them open.
- 44:57It's it's sure investment, just sure investment.
- 45:01Like there's no, there's no way I can lose money on this.
- 45:04Like they're so hot right now. So anyway, binary, have you had
- 45:13to shift any of the overarching story in any?
- 45:17How did you shift any of the overarching story involving
- 45:19Domino in reaction to how the gang has been progressing and
- 45:23sometimes delaying? Yes, is the answer.
- 45:28And at the beginning of Season 2, when VV came in, I wanted to
- 45:32make medical things a more important part of the storyline
- 45:36to sort of make sure that the PC had good reason to be around so
- 45:45so. Wow, is that horn OK?
- 45:47Yeah. What?
- 45:48Was that the guy goes, drives down my street and no it's not.
- 45:53He has to replace the air, I think.
- 45:55But yeah, no, I, I, that's where the whole sort of Frankenstein
- 45:58thing came from. Like as, as sort of an evolving
- 46:02story. I didn't sort of stick many
- 46:03things in the ground ago. These can't change when it comes
- 46:06to like the story, the overarching story.
- 46:09It is very, some of the stuff is very improvised against what you
- 46:14guys do, I suppose, which I feel like it keeps it fresh.
- 46:17And every now and again, somebody will say something
- 46:19errant in the Discord and I'll be like.
- 46:21Oh, that's a good idea. I'm still that.
- 46:24Idea and you should do the same thing when you see or hear a
- 46:26good idea you should steal it because this is a game we make
- 46:29up with dice and nobody cares. Like just go and have the fun.
- 46:32I think that's one of the things that that's the other thing is
- 46:35if I start working on an idea and I'm like oh like the concept
- 46:38of this is great but playing it is not fun, then I scrap it.
- 46:43I try and find something else. So yeah, a few things, yeah.
- 46:48Originally you were going to build a robot for Domino, and
- 46:52then with Tracy's fascination with the occult, I thought maybe
- 46:57Frankensteining Domino together would be more fun.
- 47:03And you're right. It was.
- 47:05You were indeed. Yeah, that's a really fun
- 47:07episode. It is.
- 47:16Yeah, good question. Thank you.
- 47:17Truthless. I have a question from DJ on
- 47:19Discord. Where's everyone's favorite
- 47:21place in Night City? It can be from like the the the
- 47:25our show or it can be from the video game or the anime.
- 47:31Favorite place in Night City? Oh, there are a lot of iconic
- 47:37spots and like I could just say like the Bubble Tea Cafe, which
- 47:43is a favorite. Let it be known it is a
- 47:46favorite. I loved and I like just this
- 47:50place that we had was like the morgue.
- 47:52I don't know why it just always reminds me of like B BS origins.
- 47:57I like the morgue a lot. Other places I like.
- 48:02I just also one of my favorite districts.
- 48:04I don't know why is the university district in night
- 48:07city. I always use it for settings and
- 48:08stuff. Biotechnic is there.
- 48:11So I I just like that particular sector of of Night City
- 48:16personally. I like Pacifica, I like the way
- 48:23it sounds. Yeah.
- 48:26I like the idea of being in a bar where you kind of live there
- 48:31and you also all your friends are there and there's.
- 48:34Everybody knows name. I was getting there.
- 48:40Rude. But yeah, no, I like the bar.
- 48:44If if I had to visit a place, it would probably be the bar.
- 48:48It'd be no latency. Oh, that's nice.
- 48:52Yeah. That's a good one.
- 48:55Duh. I yeah it is.
- 49:01I don't gamble personally, but Sharks cards reminds me of the
- 49:10casino in the game Stardew Valley where it's just kind of
- 49:18off in the middle of the desert. You know, and start to yeah, the
- 49:23one that's. Casino.
- 49:25Yeah, that's not on the main village, right?
- 49:28It just makes you feel good. You you go, you go to the
- 49:31desert, you get in the casino and nobody's really betting real
- 49:34money. You're just kind of hanging out
- 49:35and playing a form of roulette. And I just sit there for hours
- 49:40on my Switch. Hitting the button makes me feel
- 49:43like I'm at Sharks cards. Hell yeah.
- 49:46I definitely don't don't have a gambling problem.
- 49:50No, none. None whatsoever.
- 49:51Not in Stardew Valley. No, Evan, what's your favorite?
- 49:58So mine is cliche as fuck is it? But I don't care.
- 50:04It would have to be like a good random rooftop spot somewhere in
- 50:12downtown. Nice city, especially while it's
- 50:16raining and just like being able to see the view of looking over
- 50:21the city. I don't know what it is.
- 50:24There is something about the cyberpunk like city skyline,
- 50:32just the way that it is that I feel really inspires me or like,
- 50:42like connects with me like 'cause like everything nowadays
- 50:47to me feels ultra minimalist and just like hyper streamlined and
- 50:54nothing really has a personality and, and you know, take what you
- 50:57will of what that is for, but like it, it's, it to me, it
- 51:02sucks. I, I'm, I think binary.
- 51:06I think I was talking about this with binary actually, when I
- 51:08came and visited them before Comic Con that at one point,
- 51:13like I walked around, I think it was like what A10 it was a it
- 51:20was a not ten. It was like maybe five mile
- 51:23radius from around. And I was just so infatuated
- 51:28with the older parts of the city because all the buildings had
- 51:32like this like personality to from like back in the 80s and
- 51:3990s to the newer ones that you could see in the closer
- 51:43downtown. And I was like, I I just enjoy
- 51:46this so much more. Like, there's just it.
- 51:48It's so much more visually appealing.
- 51:50And. And cats.
- 51:53Yeah. Yeah.
- 51:54What? Oh, cat.
- 51:56Yeah, that's a cat. I was so lost in my own.
- 51:59That's cool view. Yeah, Yeah, I like a good view.
- 52:02I don't know. I think I think Shuck.
- 52:05I think I'd go to shucks. Cards.
- 52:08Interesting. I don't know.
- 52:09I think I'm. I'm with, I'm with.
- 52:11I'm with Spoon, though. I think I'd hang out at the bar.
- 52:13That place sounds cool. That would be a new one.
- 52:19Yeah, the afterlife's a good bar.
- 52:21Hey now, we've got a really nice message from Lobo, one of our
- 52:25Patreon supporters. Thank you Lobo over on Discord.
- 52:28Not a question, but a message. Every single individual that
- 52:31encompasses our beloved podcast have been doing great from day
- 52:34zero. I love everyone's characters and
- 52:36IRL persons, guests, formers, actuals.
- 52:40So thank you for the memories and enjoyment.
- 52:43Oh. That's just nice.
- 52:44That's just a nice thing to say. Thank you very.
- 52:46Much. Thank you, Lobo.
- 52:47That's very nice. That's a very nice thing to say.
- 52:50And you could say nice things to us too on our Patreon.
- 52:53Yes, if you want to do that. For just $3 a month, you too can
- 52:58say less things to us. Less.
- 53:00We still have a few $1.00 left. Let's go.
- 53:03Yeah, we've got actually $1.00. Less cost a dollar to say
- 53:06something nice. And a dollar.
- 53:07And then we've got a few other tiers that give you a few other
- 53:10little treats as well. Let's wrap up with a really just
- 53:13a nice cyberpunk question. What's?
- 53:16Your. Parents go on, Yes.
- 53:18Do you mind if I comment real quick on what Lobo said?
- 53:20Sure. I just want to say myself.
- 53:26Thanks, Lobo. When somebody is, you know,
- 53:31brave enough to state something like this and we get to hear it,
- 53:35it, it does put a bit of joy in my heart and makes me feel very
- 53:40happy that I'm able to create something that somebody actively
- 53:44enjoys. So thank you Lobo for keeping me
- 53:47going. Yeah, it's pretty great.
- 53:50We have, we have a really great group of people in the in the
- 53:53Discord and you should go and check it out.
- 53:54James Bug, they're really nice in there, but like, let's wrap
- 53:59up with a nice question because it's just a good one for people
- 54:02who do stuff in the Cyberpunk. What's your advice for people
- 54:06when they want to start playing Cyberpunk Red?
- 54:11When they want to start playing Cyberpunk Red.
- 54:13For the first time, finds finds a sucker to run it for you.
- 54:19True. Oh, I thought you were saying
- 54:22what do you do if you want to stop playing Cyberpunk?
- 54:25I was. Stuck I also thought that first
- 54:27and I was like that can't possibly what do you I was.
- 54:29Like. Find find a partner you you will
- 54:32immediately. Oh no, get a life that's.
- 54:40That was way mean. Slight tangent, yeah, the
- 54:45original GM of this show was going to be Jade.
- 54:48Stop. Fun fact.
- 54:52The original GM was Jade and I was just going to edit it and
- 54:55the jade was like, oh, but you'd be you do it.
- 54:57It was. I don't literally said to me,
- 54:58you do it because I don't want to.
- 55:00And I was like, well but. Yeah, you know what?
- 55:05I'll be honest. Yeah, no, I love being the GM,
- 55:08to be frank, Like I love it. Thank you so much everybody for
- 55:11listening. My I'll do my my advice last.
- 55:14Who else has some tips? I mean y'all missing out?
- 55:17I got to do 7 candles with jade and they are phenomenal so.
- 55:22It's it's there's ten of them. Lucky me.
- 55:26Three more. Three more candles.
- 55:27Three more candles. My advice is don't be
- 55:35intimidated. It can be a little crunchy if
- 55:38you're coming from like older tabletop systems.
- 55:41Maybe you live for the crunch, but those of us who are more
- 55:46than just like we're here for the RP, it can be a little, it
- 55:49can be a little crunchy, but don't be intimidated by that.
- 55:53You can do what you want. Like you can use certain parts
- 55:57of the rules and like not all of them like, you know, so like the
- 56:04rules for auto fire. To this day, I still don't fully
- 56:08understand them. And and that's OK, you know,
- 56:13yes, the tools do help, actually.
- 56:16But yes, like, do what you and your group, like, want to do
- 56:21and, and, and find your own little unique quirks that you
- 56:24can add. Like just have no latency.
- 56:26We add our own little unique quirks into our version of
- 56:31Cyberpunk. Yeah.
- 56:32So. Yeah.
- 56:34It's also important to know that every time you run I'm I'm
- 56:39imagining that if if you're asking how do I start playing
- 56:42Cyberpunk Red, then you there are two options.
- 56:45Option one, you're a player, in which case find Adm that's real.
- 56:48That's a go and check. Outstopplaying.com #not.
- 56:50Sponsored option two. You're willing to run it, and as
- 56:55the GM, you need to know that the first time you run any game,
- 56:58it's gonna be bad. And that's OK.
- 57:00So focus on what you know and what you like and what your
- 57:03friends like, because you're probably, hopefully playing
- 57:07running the game for your friends.
- 57:08So just focus on what they like. It's gonna be bad.
- 57:11You're gonna mess up the rules. That's OK.
- 57:13Just make it fun. Yeah, makes fun.
- 57:17Yeah, in, in fact, when. What is it When?
- 57:22When you do mess up the rules, it then just becomes the part of
- 57:27the part of the experience with the yeah, Canon with with the
- 57:30crew. If the the inside jokes that
- 57:33y'all have. I mean, my, my, my bit of advice
- 57:40that I would say, and I feel like it gets said often, but it
- 57:44always feels need repeating. Don't feel like you have to stay
- 57:48at A at A at a group or table if you're not having fun.
- 57:53Yeah, and I mean, like, I know that Cyberpunk is a lot harder
- 57:57to find groups than it is for say, other systems.
- 58:02But I I, I'll be honest from other people that I've talked to
- 58:06that from playing wise, like it's just going to be better if
- 58:11you're not Like if you're just not having fun, it's it's not
- 58:14worth having to, you know, slog through something like that to
- 58:17then becoming bittered by it, you know, always find a new one.
- 58:22And you know what, again, just to go ahead and plug the Patreon
- 58:26or not the Patreon on the Discord.
- 58:28We do have a looking for group thing.
- 58:29And we, there's, we have several people who who run.
- 58:34A game on a regular basis yeah, you can check them out and they
- 58:36they they're a table that's always interesting is seeing
- 58:39what you have to say. I think I believe a pretty sure
- 58:43people in there who wants to play.
- 58:45I'll be honest, I've I've wanted to like spy in on them but I
- 58:49bet. You, they'll let you.
- 58:51They get to spy on us. I know, I know they would let.
- 58:55I know they would let me. The thing is, is that I, what is
- 58:59it? I, I, I don't I, I, I don't want
- 59:01to affect their game. I feel like because.
- 59:04Yes, the observed game. Yes, the.
- 59:06Observed game. The observed game is a different
- 59:09game. That's the other thing.
- 59:10You don't have to play it like Critical Role or in fact even us
- 59:14comparing those. True, but you don't have to play
- 59:16like ATTRPG like actual play. Like actual play, yeah.
- 59:21You know Tracy, I'm sure you find even with stuff on like
- 59:24Magic RPG Shamus plug that you can.
- 59:28Sorry that that the game you play in front of a camera,
- 59:32especially live streamed like live games are even different
- 59:35than prerecorded I think. It's very different and that's
- 59:40OK. Like you are aware that you're
- 59:42playing for an audience. There are things that I talk
- 59:44about with my players as a storyteller and I'm like, we
- 59:48know that this is a thing, but the audience doesn't.
- 59:50We have to like make that exposition.
- 59:51So I have to create a scene to like give exposition that, you
- 59:56know, I maybe wouldn't do with just like us playing behind, you
- 1:00:00know, at a table, not on camera. But like we have to consider
- 1:00:04that there is a there is an audience.
- 1:00:06So, you know, when you're running the games, you don't
- 1:00:09always have to to do it depends on what you want to do.
- 1:00:11So I agree, yeah. But utilized tools is, I think
- 1:00:15the thing I'd like to echo really, you know, the companion
- 1:00:18app use a VTT even if you're in person at the beginning.
- 1:00:23And then if you don't end up using it a lot, then take it
- 1:00:26away. But it's really useful to sort
- 1:00:27of get everybody on the same page.
- 1:00:30I found visual aids really, really helpful.
- 1:00:33You don't have to have like you can have a burnt note in a
- 1:00:37building, you can make one and give it to your player in
- 1:00:39person. You could hide AQR code in a
- 1:00:43book that you just leave on the table or something, that kind of
- 1:00:46thing. There's lots of ways of making
- 1:00:48it cyberpunky. One of the things I like to do
- 1:00:50is to make audio Diaries for characters in the world, have
- 1:00:54newscasters read stuff, get a friend of yours to like, like
- 1:00:58we. That's why we call on April
- 1:01:00Anonymous often as reading the news.
- 1:01:02And it's a really fun way of doing exposition for your party.
- 1:01:06And if you can't do it, there are loads of people on Fiver who
- 1:01:09will let you and also Shameless plug our highest here on
- 1:01:12Patreon. If you want something like that
- 1:01:13for your games, you can get one of our NPCS once a month to do
- 1:01:17it for you, to give your team exposition to create a bit more
- 1:01:20in the world. We offer that up too, which is
- 1:01:22pretty fun. Yeah, make it, make it fun.
- 1:01:25Just do a tiny bit extra. Like, I make all these maps and
- 1:01:29I love making them for you all, but it also helps me plan the
- 1:01:31adventure. That's kind of one of the
- 1:01:32reasons why I do it, you know, set it all up.
- 1:01:36It's just a dollhouse with dice. And then it's like, you know
- 1:01:39what I mean with your? Friends.
- 1:01:41With your friends, like I'm going to go over here and then
- 1:01:43I'm going to say yeah, tune punch them in the face because
- 1:01:50that seems to be the reaction that you will get down to.
- 1:01:53And I'm going to do one more bonus question, which I believe
- 1:01:55we have already answered once. But if we're going to ask it
- 1:01:58again, I'm not going to copy paste it because I just want to
- 1:02:00see your faces from Klaus, Klaus and Klaus on the website.
- 1:02:05I'm not sure if that's a real name.
- 1:02:06Would the team rather fight 100 duck sized Jebs or an enhanced
- 1:02:11Jeb sized Duck? It's a great question.
- 1:02:13I'm bringing it back at OK. It is a great question.
- 1:02:19I don't remember what we said last.
- 1:02:20Time, but I'm trying to remember I'm.
- 1:02:22Going to go with one time slice duck.
- 1:02:25Well, the problem is, is that like it's the body fuel bike
- 1:02:27question. Oh shit, right.
- 1:02:31It's. The body fuel bike question.
- 1:02:34This is like our version of the trolley question.
- 1:02:37Yes, yes, like. I mean I have my answer.
- 1:02:42Once you were on 7. It would be 1 Jeb sized enhanced
- 1:02:49duck because if it's if it's 100 duck sized Jeb's not even
- 1:02:55counting body fuel bite. That might be the end of the
- 1:03:00world. Jeb is just going to is just
- 1:03:02going to overrun you, you know? All your are tiny little Pew
- 1:03:07pews constantly. It's going to be Pew pews and
- 1:03:11little tiny Sloans that are flying around because if it's if
- 1:03:14it's got if you can't have Jeb without Sloan.
- 1:03:17So there's going to be the little oh, that's crying.
- 1:03:20Yep, Yep. Which then, Oh, God, Then if
- 1:03:25that means the duck, well, yeah. I, I I.
- 1:03:28If I'm yeah no 100 duck sized Jeb's is terrifying.
- 1:03:30I'm actually I think 1 is fine because at least you could dump
- 1:03:34it into the ocean like a zilla. Also, do we do we get to fight
- 1:03:39the the duck sized Jeb? Wait, no.
- 1:03:43The Yeah, you have to fight one of these.
- 1:03:45Two's duck. Yeah, yeah, with Jeb powers all.
- 1:03:49Right, easy. I'd take that down no prob.
- 1:03:52So just the big, the big, the big regenerating duck that eats
- 1:03:56flesh and they can smell bullets, no?
- 1:03:58Problem and. Can dodge bullets, yes.
- 1:04:02And is champion of the blood race.
- 1:04:04Come in, no problem. No problem.
- 1:04:05No problem. No problem.
- 1:04:07I'm friends with him, yeah. What about you, Tracy?
- 1:04:10Lots of tiny little jobs. Terrifying.
- 1:04:12I'm going with the one big one, yes.
- 1:04:15This is the correct choice. This is the correct choice over
- 1:04:18time. Like the fact that Jeb ate his
- 1:04:20leg at one point. Sorry, spoilers for season 1 to
- 1:04:23regrow his leg just tells you how horribly gruesome what his
- 1:04:28condition is, I think. But yeah, I agree.
- 1:04:31I think 1 enhanced Jeb sized duck is the answer to that
- 1:04:34question. And thank you, everyone for all
- 1:04:36of the questions that you've given us here on this Q&A for
- 1:04:41Season 2. We're barrelling our way down
- 1:04:43the gun into the heart of Night City as we get to the end of
- 1:04:48Season 2. There's more adventures to
- 1:04:49happen after Season 2, so don't worry.
- 1:04:51We're going to keep making something and we just frankly
- 1:04:55don't quite know what it is yet. I mean, they don't, I kind of do
- 1:05:00if I'm honest, but we'll see. But thank you so much for
- 1:05:03listening. Thank you for supporting us.
- 1:05:04If you want to find out more about a show, you can check out
- 1:05:06all of our stuff at nolatencypodcast.com.

- 1:05:14Even if you don't have the space in your life to support us
- 1:05:19monetarily. We do actually have a bunch of
- 1:05:20free posts on there too. There's documents that Evan
- 1:05:23makes and I help produce and put together as like nice PDFs for
- 1:05:27you to take. And then if you want to pay a
- 1:05:29little Billy back shirt, you can either do it monthly or you can
- 1:05:31pay for the post itself. You can add like a token or two,
- 1:05:34something like art we made for the thing as like a thank you or

- 1:05:43You can come and check out, check us out on our Discord.
- 1:05:45We hang out in there fairly often.
- 1:05:47I'm always keeping an eye on it. And Evan, you had something to
- 1:05:50say. I was going to say, I mean, you
- 1:05:52put a ton of work. I just write it.
- 1:05:54You actively like put all the visuals and make it actually
- 1:05:58look pretty. Yeah.
- 1:05:59That's fine, yeah. I want the maps to be nice.
- 1:06:02I want it to be fun for people to play on.
- 1:06:03Yeah. So no, no, it looks great that.
- 1:06:05Way it doesn't just look like some Google doc.
- 1:06:08Yeah, yeah, and of course, don't forget to check out save the D8,
- 1:06:13which is G is it? Yeah, I am Evan Christopher.
- 1:06:19Go and check out Magg, both their YouTube channel and their
- 1:06:22twitch. Thank you.
- 1:06:23Why are you not following both one of them as a subscribe?
- 1:06:27But you know the vibe. Please.
- 1:06:29You'll often find me lurking in the background of the Maggi
- 1:06:32indeed chat. I, I, I, I'm a stealthy little
- 1:06:35boy and they're very often and you can check out some of the
- 1:06:40other stuff like just by like looking us up on the Internet.
- 1:06:43Come say hi. We like tunes.
- 1:06:45And if you have more questions for us, we'll have more answers
- 1:06:48right here on No Latency. Everyone say bye.
- 1:06:52Bye. Bye.
- 1:06:58I should have played this already.
- 1:07:10I really like that we didn't go through with the plan of any of
- 1:07:16us doing copyrighted music except for Paris, who started
- 1:07:20singing Summertime by Will Smith.
- 1:07:23Oh yeah, but it's under, it's under like it's, it's, it's
- 1:07:27legally distinct. I'm ready for the beat job.
- 1:07:32Yeah, we're just. Going to sit here and wait for
- 1:07:34it. Yeah, all of you listening.
- 1:07:37You just, you know, listen to silence.
- 1:07:45It's a vibe, man. That track rocks.
- 1:07:47It is and I love it so much no. Bonus for anybody who's still
- 1:07:52listening to this episode, you can find the title of the music.
- 1:07:56We've got a question about that, and you can find it on Spotify.
- 1:07:59I'll leave a link to the title track.
- 1:08:01It's licensed through Epidemic Sound, and that's it from us.
- 1:08:05It's your night city. Woo Hoo.
- 1:08:07Bye.
