- 3:22Speaker 3: a forty seven morning update and it starts right now.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 3:26Speaker 3: President Donald Trump on Thursday accused the District of Columbia
- 3:30Speaker 3: and its leaders of changing crime statistics on purpose to
- 3:35Speaker 3: make it look like the city was actually getting safer,
- 3:38Speaker 3: when in reality it was not. Trump talking to reporters
- 3:41Speaker 3: that White House said, sadly, what I guess the mayor did,
- 3:43Speaker 3: or whoever it was, They asked that the numbers would
- 3:46Speaker 3: be fudge so that it would show less crime than
- 3:49Speaker 3: the actual fact of what was happening. Trump has been criticized,
- 3:53Speaker 3: by the way, by the DC mayor, Bowser and National
- 3:56Speaker 3: Democratic Party leaders for deploying the National Guard troops to
- 3:59Speaker 3: ThEC to help turn crime around and bring greater security
- 4:02Speaker 3: to the Capital area. Trump told reporters Thursday that quote,
- 4:06Speaker 3: we will have crime under control very shortly in DC.
- 4:09Speaker 3: The President said he would fix a DC crime problem,
- 4:11Speaker 3: just like he's done with the southern border, saying, the
- 4:13Speaker 3: fact is it's worse than it's ever been, and we
- 4:16Speaker 3: will have it just like we did at the border,
- 4:19Speaker 3: where the borders are totally in great shape now the
- 4:21Speaker 3: best ever record setting shape. Will have the crime situation
- 4:25Speaker 3: solved in DC very very soon. Now, why did the
- 4:29Speaker 3: President make these accusations, Well, a DC police sergeant exposed
- 4:34Speaker 3: her superiors for misclassifying crimes on purpose to make the
- 4:39Speaker 3: stats look like crime was getting better. The city, by
- 4:43Speaker 3: the way, just quietly settled her lawsuit. Records revealed in
- 4:47Speaker 3: the suit from the police sergeant, and it showed the
- 4:50Speaker 3: department's leadership directed subordinates to file theft and violent crimes
- 4:56Speaker 3: as lower level offenses quote unquote, and that's exactly why
- 5:01Speaker 3: the District of Columbia quietly settled a lawsuit from that sergeant,
- 5:05Speaker 3: who accused the Metropolitan Police Department leaders of deliberately misclassifying
- 5:09Speaker 3: offenses to deflate the district's crime statistics. Court records obtained
- 5:14Speaker 3: by the Washington Freebeacon now show police brass repeatedly told
- 5:19Speaker 3: officers to downgrade theft cases, knife attacks, and violent assaults
- 5:24Speaker 3: to lesser offenses, according to internal MPD emails, depositions, and
- 5:31Speaker 3: phone called transcripts the Free Beacon reviewed now. The former
- 5:36Speaker 3: MPD sergeant sued the department in twenty twenty, alleging that
- 5:39Speaker 3: police leadership punished her for speaking out against the scheme.
- 5:43Speaker 3: The woman, who joined the force after serving honorably in Iraq,
- 5:46Speaker 3: accused the MPD brass of attempting to quote distort crime
- 5:50Speaker 3: statistics by downgrading a number of felonies to misdemeanors so
- 5:54Speaker 3: that there would be quote fewer felonies in the statistics.
- 5:58Speaker 3: She also provided records showing that police leaders explicitly instructed
- 6:04Speaker 3: their subordinates to underclassify certain instances of theft to keep
- 6:08Speaker 3: them out of the crime stats that the city reports
- 6:11Speaker 3: to the public. The lawsuit, as well as the city's
- 6:14Speaker 3: decision to settle calls into question the prevailing narrative presented
- 6:18Speaker 3: in mainstream media outlets as President Donald Trump carries out
- 6:22Speaker 3: the DC crime crackdown. For example, the New York Times,
- 6:25Speaker 3: Washington Post, and Politico have all cited data for the
- 6:29Speaker 3: Metropolitan Police Department to contend that DC crime is low
- 6:34Speaker 3: and Trump's crackdown is unnecessary and just a political maneuver.
- 6:38Speaker 3: The coverage did not mentioned, by the way, the whistleblower,
- 6:41Speaker 3: nor did it disclose that a DC police commander is
- 6:44Speaker 3: actually currently on leave after the city's police union accused
- 6:49Speaker 3: him of manipulating crime stats to artificially lower them. Now,
- 6:55Speaker 3: this also goes back to the second narrative. Democrats are
- 6:58Speaker 3: claiming that DC is safe, people are not scared. That
- 7:02Speaker 3: is also a huge lie. In fact, even on MSNBC
- 7:07Speaker 3: they admitted on Morning Joe that it's very clear the
- 7:11Speaker 3: ninety one percent of people that live in Washington, the
- 7:15Speaker 3: residence there, say that crime is a problem. Take a
- 7:19Speaker 3: listen to Joe Scarborough being forced to tell you the
- 7:22Speaker 3: truth on this one.
- 7:24Speaker 1: The answer to this, this this problem for Democrats is
- 7:27Speaker 1: not everything's okay. There's nothing to see here. Move along,
- 7:32Speaker 1: Move along. Oh, Washington has dropped twenty four percent or
- 7:36Speaker 1: whatever in crime. Well, let me give you some other numbers.
- 7:40Speaker 1: The Washington Post took a poll in late April early May.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Ninety one percent of Washington residents say crime is a problem.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Ninety one percent fifty one percent it is an extremely
- 7:57Speaker 1: serious problem. And John Heilman, We've had people before put
- 8:04Speaker 1: this in racial terms, and this is what I must say.
- 8:07Speaker 1: This is one thing that I think Democrats have gotten
- 8:10Speaker 1: so wrong about crime, so wrong about crime. Well, let
- 8:14Speaker 1: me just read, let me just read the Washington Post.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Here.
- 8:18Speaker 1: There are stark divides among the lines of race and
- 8:21Speaker 1: income in the poll, with black residents and lower income
- 8:25Speaker 1: residents significantly more worried about crime than white residents and
- 8:32Speaker 1: those with higher incomes, as they were last year. Black
- 8:37Speaker 1: women are among the most concerned, with sixty five percent
- 8:42Speaker 1: saying crime is a very or extremely serious issue, compared
- 8:47Speaker 1: with eighty two percent who said the same thing.
- 8:51Speaker 3: There it is, folks morning, Joe Scarborough scorching Democrats on
- 8:55Speaker 3: the DC crime denial. Ninety one percent of Washington residents
- 8:59Speaker 3: say crime is a problem, with black residents and lower
- 9:02Speaker 3: income residents significantly more worried about crime than white residents
- 9:05Speaker 3: and those with higher incomes. So you have to ask
- 9:08Speaker 3: yourself this question, why are Democrats so hell bent on
- 9:12Speaker 3: stopping Donald Trump from making Washington, DC safer? It's because
- 9:16Speaker 3: they don't want to lose control of their cities and
- 9:19Speaker 3: they're afraid if he's successful in this, then other cities
- 9:23Speaker 3: around the country will demand the same outcome, and Democrats
- 9:27Speaker 3: don't actually want to fight crime at all.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Now, story number two.
- 9:31Speaker 3: In an election, the most important thing for any candidate
- 9:34Speaker 3: is being able to connect with voters, and most of
- 9:37Speaker 3: the time that is through paid advertisements or emailing or
- 9:43Speaker 3: text messaging or social media posts that are boosted. It
- 9:47Speaker 3: is extremely important because without reaching the electorate, it's impossible
- 9:52Speaker 3: to actually win an election. So I want you to
- 9:55Speaker 3: just imagine for just a moment how influential different tech
- 9:59Speaker 3: companies are. Like Google, for example, if they decided that
- 10:03Speaker 3: they didn't want conservative emails to make it to your
- 10:08Speaker 3: actual email account. Instead, they decided to flag conservative emails
- 10:14Speaker 3: to your spam account. Now, that would be an egregious
- 10:17Speaker 3: abuse of power, right you would think that's probably even
- 10:20Speaker 3: maybe against the law, that you're not delivering the mail
- 10:23Speaker 3: the right way, even though it's an email knowing that
- 10:26Speaker 3: you're trying to change or al to the outcome of
- 10:28Speaker 3: an election. Well guess what Google caught flagging GOP fundraiser
- 10:35Speaker 3: emails as quote unquote suspicious and then sending them directly
- 10:40Speaker 3: to spam. A new memo is revealing. Now this is
- 10:43Speaker 3: even more troubling because if a candidate cannot raise money,
- 10:47Speaker 3: they cannot compete in an election, and many candidates will
- 10:52Speaker 3: buy email lists to solicit from conservative donors or liberal
- 10:56Speaker 3: donors if you're a Democratic candidate money because without it,
- 11:00Speaker 3: you cannot get elected. Insert Google. Google was at it again,
- 11:05Speaker 3: and the GOP campaign donations could be a major casualty
- 11:09Speaker 3: of it. The search giant has been caught this summer
- 11:13Speaker 3: flagging Republican fundraising emails as dangerous spam. That means it
- 11:18Speaker 3: kept them from hitting Gmail users inboxes and yes, the
- 11:22Speaker 3: majority of people in this country actually used Gmail, while
- 11:25Speaker 3: leaving similar solicitations from Democratic emails untouched. A consulting firm
- 11:32Speaker 3: is now warning that despite repeatedly sparking headlines and even
- 11:37Speaker 3: lawsuits in recent years over allegedly partisan practices, Last year,
- 11:42Speaker 3: for example, a federal judge tossed a lawsuit filed by
- 11:46Speaker 3: the Republican National Committee. They complained of biased email filtering.
- 11:51Speaker 3: In twenty twenty three, the Federal Election Commission dismissed an
- 11:55Speaker 3: RNC complaint alleging discrimination in Gmail's spam filters as well. Nonetheless,
- 12:01Speaker 3: Targeted Victory, whose clients include the National Republican Central Committee
- 12:06Speaker 3: Representative Steve Scalise. Senator Marsha Blackburn, said it observed that
- 12:11Speaker 3: the serious and troubling trend was still going on. As
- 12:15Speaker 3: recently as June and July of this year, Gmail had
- 12:19Speaker 3: been flagging emails containing links to the fundraising platform when read,
- 12:24Speaker 3: and in many cases, sending them directly to spam. According
- 12:28Speaker 3: to a copy of the memo to clients exclusively obtained
- 12:32Speaker 3: by The New York Post, Targeted Victory by the Way
- 12:35Speaker 3: conducted tests in which emails containing links to the democratic
- 12:40Speaker 3: fundraising platform Act Blue were delivered consistently without issue. The
- 12:46Speaker 3: memo includes video demonstrations of the firm's tests. If Gmail
- 12:51Speaker 3: is allowed to quietly suppress when Red links while giving
- 12:55Speaker 3: Act Blue a free pass, it will continue to tilt
- 12:58Speaker 3: the playing field in ways that voters never see, but
- 13:01Speaker 3: campaigns will fill every single day. The memo states, now
- 13:06Speaker 3: The memo could fuel new allegations of political bias yet
- 13:09Speaker 3: again against Google, which was accused also by Elon Muskin March,
- 13:14Speaker 3: of interfering to help Democrats thousands of times every election season. Critics,
- 13:21Speaker 3: including Donald Trump, have accused Google of manipulating search results
- 13:25Speaker 3: specifically to hurt Republicans, and even of suppressing information of
- 13:30Speaker 3: the assassination attempt against Trump last year. The company, of course,
- 13:35Speaker 3: tonight any wrongdoing. When reached for comment on Wednesday, Google's
- 13:39Speaker 3: spokesman said the company's email filter protections are in place
- 13:44Speaker 3: to keep our users safe. They look at a variety
- 13:47Speaker 3: of signals, like whether a user has previously marked an
- 13:50Speaker 3: email as spam and applied quote equally to all senders,
- 13:54Speaker 3: regardless of political ideology. The Gmail Google statement says us what.
- 14:00Speaker 3: In twenty twenty two, a study by the North Carolina
- 14:04Speaker 3: State University found that Gmail flagged fifty nine percent more
- 14:10Speaker 3: Republican fundraising emails as spam than Democratic ones. Turn the
- 14:14Speaker 3: lead up to the twenty twenty presidential election, we observe
- 14:18Speaker 3: that the spam filter algorithms of different email services indeed
- 14:22Speaker 3: exhibited biases towards different political affiliations. The researchers said at
- 14:28Speaker 3: the time. Targeted Victory said its first informed Google about
- 14:32Speaker 3: the issue on June thirtieth, after receiving lots of complaints
- 14:35Speaker 3: from its clients. The company initially deflected by blaming local
- 14:39Speaker 3: settings for the email issues. According to the memo, so
- 14:43Speaker 3: yet again, here we are, and this is what's actually happening.
- 14:47Speaker 3: We have big tech pushing the scales in favor of
- 14:51Speaker 3: the radical left and doing everything they can to undermine
- 14:54Speaker 3: even Donald Trump while he's president this time.
