- 0:08Speaker 1: your paycheck. Mine is inspiring people to accomplish their goals
- 0:11Speaker 1: and live their very best life. It's time to stop
- 0:14Speaker 1: reading other people's success stories and start writing your own.
- 0:17Speaker 1: People always talking about your purpose or gifts. If you
- 0:20Speaker 1: have a gift, lead with your gifts and don't let
- 0:22Speaker 1: your friends, family, or court or stop you from planning
- 0:25Speaker 1: or living your dreams. My next guests are Karen and
- 0:28Speaker 1: Dion Derico. They're promoting their TLC show Doubling Down with
- 0:32Speaker 1: the Three Codes. The fan favorite series is airing season three.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Now they're so happy, I said today right. Uh. Navigating
- 0:39Speaker 1: life with y'all ten plus Fox, including four sets of
- 0:45Speaker 1: naturally conceived multiples is never easy. I grew up with
- 0:48Speaker 1: six sisters two brothers, so I know the never easy story,
- 0:51Speaker 1: and that's why people always wonder why eat so fast?
- 0:54Speaker 1: But with kids getting older, parents Dion and care and
- 0:57Speaker 1: facing a whole new let me just set up the
- 0:59Speaker 1: third season for y'all. The kids are getting old to
- 1:01Speaker 1: see see when you just tell the kids and just
- 1:03Speaker 1: shut up in the corner, and they go shut up.
- 1:05Speaker 1: At some point they don't. That ain't working no more.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Including a fifty year old quest for independence and the
- 1:11Speaker 1: driver's license, eleven year old ten year old twins developing
- 1:14Speaker 1: their first questions for your triplest start in preschool plus
- 1:18Speaker 1: party training. I saw them all sitting on the tiller
- 1:20Speaker 1: a trip to Disney Disneyland. Imagine all of them down
- 1:23Speaker 1: at Disney Legends. They just they made the line long
- 1:26Speaker 1: soon as they walked up. Fast pass. They are a pass.
- 1:29Speaker 1: They are a fast past killer, new health issues and more.
- 1:33Speaker 1: In the midst of the regular chaos of raising children,
- 1:35Speaker 1: did the Recods also on the break of a big
- 1:38Speaker 1: decision moving across country to South Carolina. I know about
- 1:42Speaker 1: the low country, great food down there. Okay, karenser standing
- 1:45Speaker 1: fander down there and you know Southern roots. You know
- 1:46Speaker 1: she try to go back down there. Ain't the swoopy
- 1:48Speaker 1: tappie and all they could stuff? No matter what lines
- 1:50Speaker 1: ahead that the Recods, we're facing together. This is how
- 1:54Speaker 1: you get. This is the whole part about it. This
- 1:55Speaker 1: is written by TV folks. We'll face it together. Doubling
- 1:59Speaker 1: down on the whole love and fun it takes to
- 2:01Speaker 1: raise this unique family. Please welcome to Bundy Big Conversation
- 2:04Speaker 1: Master Class. Karen and Dione do we call I love it?
- 2:14Speaker 1: I love it? You know, you know, and when I
- 2:16Speaker 1: first heard about the show coming on, you know, because
- 2:19Speaker 1: people look at it anything that's unusual as a novel too.
- 2:23Speaker 1: That's a novel too. And so let's go back to
- 2:26Speaker 1: and and you you know, you guys didn't do this
- 2:28Speaker 1: to be to be or some type of you just
- 2:30Speaker 1: worry like a show freak show or novel or novelty.
- 2:34Speaker 1: So who contacted you and who had to convince who
- 2:38Speaker 1: to do the show? I don't think it was any
- 2:42Speaker 1: convincing both Karen that back, and we discussed it, you know,
- 2:46Speaker 1: we talked about what we would do with such a
- 2:49Speaker 1: platform and how platform would look, you know, and we
- 2:54Speaker 1: wanted to make sure that no matter what, we stayed
- 2:57Speaker 1: true to of course who we are, and we to
- 3:00Speaker 1: speak to many people that may be facing some of
- 3:03Speaker 1: the challenges in which you would watch on our show.
- 3:05Speaker 1: And so and you see on our show it's real,
- 3:08Speaker 1: it's us, it's a life, and we're showing how we
- 3:11Speaker 1: navigate through those many challenges. We're just a large family,
- 3:14Speaker 1: no different from anyone else, except the fact is so
- 3:17Speaker 1: many of us. Yeah, well, you know I come from
- 3:19Speaker 1: a large family, six sisters, two brothers, and there is
- 3:22Speaker 1: a difference. You know, it's it's feeding a big family,
- 3:27Speaker 1: you know. Feeding that's because you know, it's like you
- 3:29Speaker 1: have to wait in life for the food. You have
- 3:31Speaker 1: to like it's just no getting around it, okay, you
- 3:33Speaker 1: know you have to get to make enough food. People
- 3:36Speaker 1: are And I was just a two other story because
- 3:38Speaker 1: I came from fillth Forward and and I went to
- 3:40Speaker 1: college and and we come from you know, I wouldn't
- 3:42Speaker 1: say impoverished, but we was wasn't wasn't wasn't middle class,
- 3:46Speaker 1: And so I would I was. I was still in college.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I was always used to spoon. I would even a
- 3:51Speaker 1: spoon all the time. In fact, if you gave me,
- 3:53Speaker 1: I wouldn't even use a knife to cut I use
- 3:55Speaker 1: a spoon to cut my sandwich. And for friends and goo, hey, dude,
- 3:58Speaker 1: you know it's a knife with and for my mind,
- 4:01Speaker 1: I didn't even think about that because you don't have
- 4:04Speaker 1: a lot, do you was available. It becomes normal because
- 4:08Speaker 1: and I'm not saying you guys lived that life. But
- 4:10Speaker 1: I was just saying, is that you make adjustments and
- 4:13Speaker 1: to be able to provide for you, Like I thought
- 4:15Speaker 1: that was normal And I lived a great life. I
- 4:18Speaker 1: grew up a great child in that large kid environment.
- 4:21Speaker 1: And so what the justice of you guys made so
- 4:24Speaker 1: your children can be as normal as possible in an
- 4:28Speaker 1: environment with fourteen kids? Uh, that's a good question. Um,
- 4:34Speaker 1: what do we do to make it normal? Is? You know,
- 4:36Speaker 1: children follow the head right with the parents. So I
- 4:40Speaker 1: think the thing is She and I had a great
- 4:41Speaker 1: understanding as to what we wanted in life. We were
- 4:44Speaker 1: we expected to go. We talked about having a lot
- 4:47Speaker 1: of children. We just didn't anticipate having all these multiples.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Ride ride. That's a surprise, God, God. But we did
- 5:00Speaker 1: understand the assignment to the degree of we said, and
- 5:04Speaker 1: we actually talked about how we wanted to parent, what
- 5:08Speaker 1: type of relationship we wanted to have with our children.
- 5:10Speaker 1: And so from having said that, thank God, I got
- 5:13Speaker 1: into real estate very very early. And uh, those were
- 5:18Speaker 1: the funds. The funds were available to allow for She
- 5:21Speaker 1: and I to be at home with them. That's the
- 5:23Speaker 1: biggest blessing that we were able to give our children
- 5:27Speaker 1: as we're both at home parents, because we did look
- 5:30Speaker 1: the income that would sustain us being able to be
- 5:33Speaker 1: at home. My wife specializes in early childhood education, So
- 5:37Speaker 1: with that being said, she's a teacher, and then mind
- 5:40Speaker 1: teaching them in life and and and the street mentality.
- 5:43Speaker 1: I grew up in a very hard area like yourself,
- 5:46Speaker 1: and so education on so many levels, and she and
- 5:50Speaker 1: I giving them the level of education that we did
- 5:54Speaker 1: as being important such as financial literacy, you know these
- 5:58Speaker 1: that this wasn't talked to me in school about credit
- 6:01Speaker 1: and why you need to credit an interest rates and
- 6:03Speaker 1: so having said that, we were able together to put
- 6:07Speaker 1: together such a plan, and I mean, I'm able to
- 6:09Speaker 1: see it now hindsight being a great plan that she
- 6:13Speaker 1: and I put together. And so answering your question as
- 6:16Speaker 1: to how did we prepare for such a large family
- 6:20Speaker 1: and making those provisions because we started from the ground up, baby,
- 6:24Speaker 1: and we built this thing the right way. That's how
- 6:26Speaker 1: you know. I listen right back with more money Making
- 6:28Speaker 1: Conversations masterclass with R Sean McDonald. Can I have your
- 6:32Speaker 1: attention for him? In a friends, how would you like

- 7:30Speaker 1: l S Consumer Access dot orger. Now let's return to
- 7:33Speaker 1: Money Making Conversations Masterclass with Rashan McDonald. You know, and
- 7:38Speaker 1: it's important to have two heads communicating, you know, communicant,
- 7:42Speaker 1: especially with the family of this side, and it's equally
- 7:44Speaker 1: important to have the male's participations, especially on the feet
- 7:48Speaker 1: of the girl's side. That's the daughters. And I play
- 7:50Speaker 1: a role in my I can tell if via absences
- 7:53Speaker 1: in my daughter's life, if the world, she'll be a
- 7:55Speaker 1: different person because she respects the process. That's the process.
- 7:58Speaker 1: You know. Whoever high treat her and raise her, it's
- 8:01Speaker 1: the type of man she may marry or date, you know,
- 8:04Speaker 1: based on the value she sees. Well, Daddy treated me
- 8:07Speaker 1: like this, or Daddy didn't give me Christmas parers, or
- 8:10Speaker 1: Daddy didn't think much on my birthday. Then gets what
- 8:13Speaker 1: the man in my life? Okay, if he does the
- 8:15Speaker 1: same thing, and that could be like you know, parental
- 8:17Speaker 1: abuse in the sense to me, I always tell people
- 8:19Speaker 1: what you what you teach your child because they come
- 8:21Speaker 1: in the world, Like I always the blessingers that shows
- 8:24Speaker 1: me is this is that And I'm talking to Karen
- 8:26Speaker 1: and Dion the Rico and uh doubling down onto the Rico.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Okay on TLC is that these kids didn't ask to
- 8:34Speaker 1: come into this world. And I always tell me that's
- 8:36Speaker 1: why that's why I see parents and the child abuse.
- 8:39Speaker 1: I just it angers me. It angers me and when
- 8:44Speaker 1: it comes into this world, that's a responsibility with each case.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Like you said, you didn't expect multiple child children being
- 8:50Speaker 1: born at each time. You once you recognize that, you know,
- 8:52Speaker 1: you had to plan for that. So as each situation
- 8:55Speaker 1: happened emotionally, what did that do for you? The the
- 8:59Speaker 1: motivation because you know you have kids over here, okay,
- 9:02Speaker 1: and normally when you're pregnant, you're bringing one child additional
- 9:05Speaker 1: child in the world. Do you bringing multiple How does that?
- 9:07Speaker 1: How do you balance that conversation Karen as a mother
- 9:11Speaker 1: in regards to these additional kids that you bring on
- 9:14Speaker 1: and being able to maintain that that love balance it is.
- 9:20Speaker 1: That's that's a really good question. You know, I first
- 9:22Speaker 1: start with this was a um you know, we asked
- 9:27Speaker 1: when three When I sat down, I had that first
- 9:29Speaker 1: you know, initial conversation, and the question is asked, how
- 9:31Speaker 1: many children you want? You know, it was how many? Ever, God,
- 9:35Speaker 1: how many God blesses me to have. And I feel
- 9:39Speaker 1: as though with each pregnancy and when the multiples especially
- 9:44Speaker 1: started to come along, we were extremely grateful, but we
- 9:49Speaker 1: also looked at it as God them and this is
- 9:53Speaker 1: we want to make sure that they contribute to society.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Want to raise them in a way where they are
- 9:58Speaker 1: positively contributing into society. So the justice that we make is,
- 10:03Speaker 1: you know what God gave you, all gave you us
- 10:06Speaker 1: um for a reason, and he knew that He knew
- 10:11Speaker 1: that you were you were all well all tell our mostles.
- 10:14Speaker 1: You were so special that God made a partner here
- 10:20Speaker 1: on a higher accord. And you have to answer that call.
- 10:25Speaker 1: And it's our job to nurture you and to figure
- 10:27Speaker 1: that out, and that they helped find your place and
- 10:30Speaker 1: like you said, your purpose and your gifts, and we
- 10:32Speaker 1: know they go by without reminding them that you are
- 10:36Speaker 1: here for a reason. Let's let's find your special gift
- 10:39Speaker 1: and let's share it with the world right and then
- 10:42Speaker 1: being the responsibility because you know that then you know
- 10:44Speaker 1: that the era we live in and you know, look
- 10:48Speaker 1: at television, the George Floyd's situation, the pandemic and and
- 10:52Speaker 1: this is not the world we grew up in. Okay, technology,
- 10:56Speaker 1: your children and they don't you have to tell about
- 10:59Speaker 1: the version B to keep them off their cell phone.
- 11:01Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. You know, so you don't
- 11:03Speaker 1: want to learn the wrong way. So Derek as the
- 11:05Speaker 1: as as as the man as to being able to
- 11:09Speaker 1: you know, certain things you can't control. What what as
- 11:13Speaker 1: as as the father, what responsibility in this new era?
- 11:17Speaker 1: Because you got fourteen up them. Okay. It's bad enough
- 11:19Speaker 1: trying to keep two under control or one under control,
- 11:22Speaker 1: but fourteen up okay, and then you got something to
- 11:24Speaker 1: think they know more than you when they hit that age.
- 11:26Speaker 1: That's where they had on the show in the third season.
- 11:29Speaker 1: How's your dad? You know, you maintaining that when you're
- 11:32Speaker 1: not losing the rest of your head because somebody's turning great,
- 11:34Speaker 1: it's probably about to take over. It's about to take
- 11:36Speaker 1: over this season. You You're about to take over. That's
- 11:41Speaker 1: what I got that on right now, my brother. That's
- 11:43Speaker 1: what they had is on right now? Okay, hery, but no,
- 11:48Speaker 1: everything right on. Um. It's very important that we set
- 11:54Speaker 1: the tone and the standard tone and the one of
- 11:57Speaker 1: the very first things we do with all of our
- 11:59Speaker 1: child as we remind them of their importance and we
- 12:02Speaker 1: let so that we validate them. Only topic can validate them.
- 12:07Speaker 1: No one in the street, no one outside of this
- 12:10Speaker 1: home has the authority to validate them. That's one. And
- 12:14Speaker 1: when we validate them, we validate them with greatness. Uh.
- 12:18Speaker 1: And in order for us to change the trajectory in
- 12:21Speaker 1: which we see as some of the things go right
- 12:23Speaker 1: now within the world, we have to set a standard
- 12:27Speaker 1: of greatness in the mind of our youth, because once
- 12:31Speaker 1: that standard has been properly placed, they won't be so
- 12:34Speaker 1: quick to throw their lives away. But something that appears
- 12:38Speaker 1: to be great in that moment. That's one of the
- 12:42Speaker 1: key things is having something worth having something worth fighting for.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Will were the likely prevent you from making a very
- 12:51Speaker 1: bad decision without right You know. The interesting thing about
- 12:56Speaker 1: is that you know, as they get older, and because
- 13:00Speaker 1: you have kids watching kids, okay, they see them, the
- 13:03Speaker 1: older can get away with Okay, now you're this upcoming
- 13:06Speaker 1: third season, the driver's licensed the independence. So so we're
- 13:11Speaker 1: now we're talking parenting. Now, you know parenting. Won on't
- 13:14Speaker 1: want now you know, just because you see that happened,
- 13:16Speaker 1: I mean it's gonna happen for you, or they said,
- 13:18Speaker 1: well he can do it or she can do it.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Why can't I do it? How are you dealing with that?
- 13:23Speaker 1: I see this, she gets away with that, he gets
- 13:25Speaker 1: here with that. How are you getting here with that?
- 13:27Speaker 1: How are you controlling the yin and the yang in
- 13:29Speaker 1: the house from these kids, saying that your favorite him,
- 13:33Speaker 1: you did even do that. I can't do that. I
- 13:35Speaker 1: want to go that. I'm old enough. Respect me. Oh
- 13:39Speaker 1: it's coming up now. This is this season three, this
- 13:41Speaker 1: season three, now, this season three now caring because I'll
- 13:45Speaker 1: be I'll be watching the show. Because here's the funny part.
- 13:47Speaker 1: When y'all sitting that sofa, care you'll be looking lively.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Then he'd be on that sofa time may be sick.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Give me laying back on that sofa, looking like about
- 13:58Speaker 1: twenty five years older. He'd be so time. You don't know.
- 14:01Speaker 1: I'd be laughing up to my wife looking at it. Boy,
- 14:03Speaker 1: he tied, He tied. He don't care about the cameras
- 14:06Speaker 1: no more. He had forgot their own chier, still trying
- 14:09Speaker 1: to sit up right then here, just I'm on this
- 14:12Speaker 1: so for y'all. Honeyp get my seat away. Hey, hey,
- 14:20Speaker 1: you know I'm telling the truth. Jimmy, She maintain that
- 14:24Speaker 1: camera pose. She staying up right on that so far.
- 14:27Speaker 1: You see you right there there, boy, he can so
- 14:31Speaker 1: for your lean back. Oh he missing as a beer.
- 14:34Speaker 1: It's only missing as a beer. It's beautiful. I love
- 14:41Speaker 1: it because of the fact that that's why I was
- 14:43Speaker 1: so excited to talk to you guys, because it's such
- 14:45Speaker 1: a real image of familihood and the fact that I
- 14:51Speaker 1: come from that large family environment. I know you know
- 14:54Speaker 1: when and I'm not and I'm not trying to place
- 14:56Speaker 1: you guys, because Lord knows, my parents were not in
- 14:59Speaker 1: the real My dad was a truck driver, third grade education,
- 15:03Speaker 1: my mom graduate from high school. That's that's the life
- 15:05Speaker 1: I drove raising it not the life that your children
- 15:08Speaker 1: are raising in. But it didn't stop me from being great.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Didn stopped me from dreaming and realizing that the impossible
- 15:14Speaker 1: as possible. And that's what we're here on this show
- 15:17Speaker 1: all the time, but as parents tell us a little
- 15:19Speaker 1: bit of what's coming up this season, because I don't
- 15:21Speaker 1: want to give we all the tricks. But it's an
- 15:24Speaker 1: interesting season because of the fact that it's kind of
- 15:27Speaker 1: like a coming of age because you knew you did
- 15:29Speaker 1: the first season, and you learn some things the second season.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Not the kids kind of know. They didn't know what
- 15:37Speaker 1: they know what's going on now, and they're kind of
- 15:39Speaker 1: pitching a little bit of ideas too, Well, why can't
- 15:42Speaker 1: we do this so so daddy talk about controlling this family,
- 15:46Speaker 1: holding them down, keeping them ship ship shape for season three,
- 15:51Speaker 1: the ship shape and something we put in in place
- 15:54Speaker 1: years ago, thank god. But you see regarding our children,
- 15:59Speaker 1: und been down with the Dorico's, which is on TLC
- 16:02Speaker 1: and you can stream us in Discovery. Plus, I ain't
- 16:06Speaker 1: about to say goodbye now says a goodbye. That's a
- 16:08Speaker 1: goodbye right there. You know you're saying all the credits
- 16:11Speaker 1: and everything. Uh uh we on TLC doubling Down with
- 16:15Speaker 1: the Driko's. Okay, continue, ok, let me talk to you.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Let me talk to you. She gonna keep talking like that, Karen,
- 16:22Speaker 1: Is she gonna talking like you know? He? You know
- 16:25Speaker 1: he an announcer. Where where's this fun guy I see
- 16:28Speaker 1: on TV? He just winning pr mode on TLC is
- 16:32Speaker 1: a family or in his show doubling Down with the Dorikos,
- 16:35Speaker 1: he changed his voice and everything. Where that guy on
- 16:39Speaker 1: the so forth tied, that's the guy I want to
- 16:42Speaker 1: talk to. I gotta make it ready for those viewers
- 16:45Speaker 1: of yours. They may not know. And so it had
- 16:48Speaker 1: been a minute since the last time you said this. Well, continue, sir,
- 16:56Speaker 1: I apologize, I apologize, don't worries, so any it, as
- 17:00Speaker 1: I was saying, dubbling down three goals every plus. But
- 17:07Speaker 1: one of the things you'll see is you'll see how
- 17:09Speaker 1: we uh deal with the esoteric nous of having two
- 17:14Speaker 1: year old babies that are being trained and sixteen year
- 17:18Speaker 1: old who wants to drive now, and who's still talking
- 17:22Speaker 1: about dating, and that's in between there, that's going through
- 17:26Speaker 1: the many stages. I think one of the things that's
- 17:28Speaker 1: so unique about our show is that we had and
- 17:30Speaker 1: about our family is that we have so many different
- 17:34Speaker 1: ages that we have to cater so much going on constantly,
- 17:38Speaker 1: all at one time, and thank god we both have
- 17:40Speaker 1: each other. I don't know how we would NAVI get
- 17:42Speaker 1: yeah through it. And we definitely let our children know
- 17:46Speaker 1: that just because one person is doing something doesn't mean
- 17:49Speaker 1: that you get to do something else, Like we have
- 17:52Speaker 1: to find you know, they're saying, like how you said earlier,
- 17:55Speaker 1: you know what this one is trying to drive? I
- 17:56Speaker 1: would to get understand when's right when you're not ready yet,
- 17:59Speaker 1: You're not ready due to various reasons that we explain
- 18:02Speaker 1: next to them, and it's it goes back to read
- 18:05Speaker 1: directing them about what they are, you know, what they
- 18:08Speaker 1: should be doing. What this should be learning and just
- 18:10Speaker 1: nurturing special talents that they have, you know, Darien and
- 18:13Speaker 1: of the age where she is, you know, eager to
- 18:16Speaker 1: learn to drive, and that's what Poppy and I are
- 18:18Speaker 1: going to be doing to make sure she learns. And
- 18:19Speaker 1: when you get to that point, we'll also help you, um,
- 18:23Speaker 1: you know, get your driver's from middle license on how
- 18:25Speaker 1: that is at that time. But meantime, let's focus on
- 18:29Speaker 1: something else right now. And so you know, we made
- 18:32Speaker 1: sure we we we close that up real quick with that.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Oh well, they get to do it, okay, So she
- 18:39Speaker 1: got that tone, don't she heard it? Oh yeah, absolutely.
- 18:45Speaker 1: We'll be right back with more Money Making Conversations Masterclass
- 18:49Speaker 1: with Rushan McDonald. Now, let's return to Money Making Conversations
- 18:56Speaker 1: Masterclass with Rashan McDonald. This is TV, so there's entertainment,
- 19:01Speaker 1: there's editing. You know, people create situations, but the bottom
- 19:05Speaker 1: line is just being making sure your your kids don't
- 19:08Speaker 1: get damaged by the process. You know, this is you
- 19:10Speaker 1: know that that's the key because like I will tell you,
- 19:13Speaker 1: they can stop to show the bar, you know, but
- 19:14Speaker 1: you still gotta be great parents. You still got to
- 19:17Speaker 1: provide for them. And and that's what I love about
- 19:20Speaker 1: the show because this is not this is something, this
- 19:23Speaker 1: is a tool. And uh show people that they can parents.
- 19:26Speaker 1: The one thing that I wanted to talk to people
- 19:28Speaker 1: who hadn't saw the show, and you should watch the show,
- 19:30Speaker 1: tell them how you you know they have the chores
- 19:33Speaker 1: with the kids, how you have the scheduling, the mills
- 19:38Speaker 1: and everything. So they get a sense of the level
- 19:41Speaker 1: of professionalism that goes into because this is this is
- 19:44Speaker 1: a job. Okay, this is a job. Don't get a twiction. Now,
- 19:47Speaker 1: you can't come in there and problem with fourteen kids.
- 19:50Speaker 1: You can't problem four teen kids. And so because if
- 19:53Speaker 1: they do with the kids, to see it that the
- 19:55Speaker 1: kids are smart. They see things that you remember, things
- 19:59Speaker 1: they you may have thought they didn't even see. And
- 20:02Speaker 1: so how does how does the chore, the chores and happen,
- 20:06Speaker 1: and how does the whole process of the meals and
- 20:09Speaker 1: getting them up and getting them ready work Because like
- 20:11Speaker 1: you said, you have different age groups, so different age
- 20:15Speaker 1: group you have to treat them all differently. Yes, um,
- 20:19Speaker 1: so mommy works with getting them up in the morning. Again,
- 20:22Speaker 1: mommy does the homeschooling. So she worked up setting that up,
- 20:26Speaker 1: and then I'm the cook in the in the house,
- 20:28Speaker 1: so I'll start getting their breakfast together and their lunch
- 20:32Speaker 1: and of course dinner. But of course I'm doing it,
- 20:34Speaker 1: you know as a day progressive and and every child,
- 20:38Speaker 1: every human being in this house has a responsibility to
- 20:43Speaker 1: the house. No free ride, um. And that's so many,
- 20:47Speaker 1: many many reasons why we do that. Because we're teaching
- 20:49Speaker 1: them how to work with the team, and we are
- 20:52Speaker 1: their first team. So saying that even the younger babies
- 20:57Speaker 1: will go put trash and you know something in the track,
- 21:00Speaker 1: get a pull up where everyone is doing something and
- 21:05Speaker 1: it creates that karaterie amongst the family. And so there's
- 21:09Speaker 1: so many different levels to this thing. I mean this
- 21:12Speaker 1: this conversation is not even long enough for us to
- 21:15Speaker 1: have it for me to catch you up on all
- 21:17Speaker 1: the things that we do. But mommy has a great system.
- 21:20Speaker 1: I just um, you know, they're home school to do
- 21:22Speaker 1: a wonderful home school blended program. So there everyone is,
- 21:26Speaker 1: you know, up by seven thirty um, in front of
- 21:29Speaker 1: their uh laptop. Two start school at nine, school is
- 21:35Speaker 1: over at twelve. We start homework. We're done by three
- 21:38Speaker 1: and then by five dinner is um getting in our bellies.
- 21:44Speaker 1: That that family time and then pretty everyone is in
- 21:48Speaker 1: the bed. And so when we try to do as
- 21:50Speaker 1: much as we can throughout the day and coordinate effect
- 21:53Speaker 1: of communication, um, texting each other, Hey I got disappointment,
- 21:56Speaker 1: I got that one or this one. You know, we're
- 21:58Speaker 1: constantly talking about that and then um, we try to
- 22:01Speaker 1: have a little meat time at night, which ends up
- 22:04Speaker 1: probably watching us the television news watching us. But and
- 22:10Speaker 1: we just try to get that that time like that.
- 22:12Speaker 1: You threw that in, y'all just and fell asleep in
- 22:14Speaker 1: front of television. See I do that little watching us.
- 22:16Speaker 1: I do that. Look, that's that's a grown folks were
- 22:18Speaker 1: tied line watching us, news watching us. Don't care, don't try.
- 22:25Speaker 1: I'm an old school care you can't slip them lives
- 22:27Speaker 1: past the old school and like me now news watching us.
- 22:31Speaker 1: We know we'll be tried. But wake up old school,
- 22:35Speaker 1: be wake up, just the flag and be on back
- 22:37Speaker 1: in the day in the sixties. You know. One of
- 22:42Speaker 1: the one of the key promotional moments of that you
- 22:45Speaker 1: Guys Go Move is promoting the fact that moving to
- 22:48Speaker 1: South Carolina, which I love South Carolina, by the way,
- 22:51Speaker 1: Charles to South Carolina is one of my favorite city
- 22:53Speaker 1: and low country everybody good food, good people, good atmosphere,
- 22:58Speaker 1: and that it was that a played part or was
- 23:02Speaker 1: it three years ago? Was that a played decision to
- 23:05Speaker 1: move or how did that come about? H Well, I
- 23:09Speaker 1: lost my grandmother. UM. I lost my grandmother and my
- 23:14Speaker 1: uncle within six months time period and COVID and that
- 23:19Speaker 1: was just a lot. And you already know when someone
- 23:22Speaker 1: passes as a way of course it you know, death
- 23:25Speaker 1: mix the living, reflect on their life and the life.
- 23:28Speaker 1: And so when that happened, I had a conversation with
- 23:31Speaker 1: Driko and Um just talked to him and let them
- 23:34Speaker 1: know that, you know, we're far away. My children don't
- 23:36Speaker 1: really know a lot of my side of the family,
- 23:39Speaker 1: UM due to the fact that we lived so far away,
- 23:41Speaker 1: and I wouldn't mind moving closer home, but it had
- 23:45Speaker 1: to make sense. So that's when I, you know, brought
- 23:47Speaker 1: about the business um idea to Driko and Um and
- 23:52Speaker 1: we just started talking about it. And Drico, who's a
- 23:55Speaker 1: phenomenal husband, I had a recent stroke scare on last
- 23:59Speaker 1: season and he was like, you know, whatever you want
- 24:02Speaker 1: to do, baby, I'll do it. You know, It's just
- 24:04Speaker 1: one of those those moments where we're like, oh my God,
- 24:07Speaker 1: think God, wasn't a stroke and um ended up being
- 24:11Speaker 1: a muscle spasm and talking about that, and that's how
- 24:15Speaker 1: it came about, you know, just do we move back
- 24:18Speaker 1: home or how do we do this right? And and
- 24:21Speaker 1: then when you make it a move because you know
- 24:23Speaker 1: you're still these are decisions they made together, but they
- 24:26Speaker 1: still impact you because they make your mind role because
- 24:29Speaker 1: that wasn't a part of your process, because you know,
- 24:33Speaker 1: you carry me in a planners. You know, we're playing
- 24:35Speaker 1: stuff and you know it's like driving with no direction.
- 24:38Speaker 1: We'll just keep driving and try to get there. And
- 24:40Speaker 1: so so when his plan in his mind, he got
- 24:43Speaker 1: a plan. So she brought this plan to you. How
- 24:46Speaker 1: did you you know, processing in your brain and said
- 24:49Speaker 1: this this is something that good for the entire family.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Is something we had to do because this is the
- 24:54Speaker 1: woman I loved and and the and the mother my
- 24:57Speaker 1: fourteen kids. Absolutely so, Um, that's a very good question.
- 25:02Speaker 1: One of the things one of my makers terms of course,
- 25:05Speaker 1: as you just say this mother of my children, and
- 25:07Speaker 1: as her husband, I have a respond to listen to
- 25:10Speaker 1: what you know she wants to do by to put
- 25:13Speaker 1: it in a in a forum that works for everyone, right.
- 25:17Speaker 1: So but at the same time, you know, we haven't
- 25:19Speaker 1: pushed back from you know, some of the other family members,
- 25:22Speaker 1: like some of the children said, I have Eric and Gig,
- 25:25Speaker 1: they're not really into doing it. So the job is
- 25:28Speaker 1: trying to find that happy spot in the middle. And
- 25:32Speaker 1: then remember I'm a businessman, so I'm an investor. That's
- 25:36Speaker 1: how comoy And so when she mentioned it, I thought
- 25:39Speaker 1: it was a very good idea from a financial perspective.
- 25:43Speaker 1: If we're able to secure the financial backing and we're
- 25:47Speaker 1: able to funding from the right investors, I could see
- 25:51Speaker 1: it being very lucrative. So for me, I was torn
- 25:54Speaker 1: with I want to stay here in Vegas, but this
- 25:57Speaker 1: is a very lucrative opportunity for us to to to
- 26:01Speaker 1: to create something great for our family. And I love
- 26:04Speaker 1: her for having such a great idea. So of course
- 26:06Speaker 1: it's battling, and that's what you're gonna see is the
- 26:08Speaker 1: battle between I want to do it for the financial
- 26:12Speaker 1: freedom that it would give us, but time I'm torn
- 26:16Speaker 1: between one of the state in Vegas, myself plus the
- 26:19Speaker 1: rest of the family want to stay here and we'll
- 26:21Speaker 1: be able to find enough financial securing or backing to
- 26:25Speaker 1: make such a thing happen. So there's a lot that
- 26:28Speaker 1: has to get figured out that we still have not
- 26:30Speaker 1: figured out. Let me say that still, but there's a
- 26:34Speaker 1: lot to deal with. And you know, as being as
- 26:36Speaker 1: she and I were the heads of the house, so
- 26:38Speaker 1: we have always been on one of court at some point,
- 26:41Speaker 1: so we're we're working that thing out. Goodness, they worked out,
- 26:46Speaker 1: but you're gonna happen that I gotta wrap it up
- 26:48Speaker 1: there they little think out the little chat when the
- 26:50Speaker 1: kids popped up on the screen five minutes, y'all gotta yea.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Y'all been talking to it along. Y'all been having a
- 26:55Speaker 1: good time. You know. Usually they didn't threaten me like
- 26:58Speaker 1: I can't talk to you'll notw they're telling that I
- 26:59Speaker 1: gotta stopped to y'all. You know, that's how they're doing
- 27:01Speaker 1: when you're having fun, the caaring. But I love y'all.
- 27:05Speaker 1: I don't want to lose my interview privilege because I
- 27:07Speaker 1: want to be back for season folk with the doubling
- 27:10Speaker 1: down with the rico and let me let me let
- 27:16Speaker 1: me get that voice right for you know, it could
- 27:17Speaker 1: be like the you know, We're on til C show
- 27:20Speaker 1: Doubling Down with the Driko's a fan favorite series is
- 27:23Speaker 1: air in season three and uh, we'll be going through
- 27:26Speaker 1: all types of things and kids, uh you know, try
- 27:28Speaker 1: to get drivers license, trying to the fifty year old
- 27:31Speaker 1: just out of control. But you know, I'm Pops over here.
- 27:33Speaker 1: You'll mess with pops mom over here. She got the
- 27:36Speaker 1: four year old tripleish the preschool and they got potty
- 27:38Speaker 1: training and all this stuff. But going to die Land
- 27:41Speaker 1: and I gotta move either from Vegas and South Carolina
- 27:43Speaker 1: fighting off the mosquitoes down in South Carolina. Have y'all
- 27:45Speaker 1: been in South Carolina? Mosquito's biggest birds. I love you.
- 27:51Speaker 1: I want to thank you all for coming on this
- 27:53Speaker 1: show and I will support this by y'all fun. It
- 27:59Speaker 1: was a great about Thank you, and again, if you

- 28:06Speaker 1: I'm fans of the show. My wife is fans of
- 28:08Speaker 1: the show, and I come from a big family, so
- 28:10Speaker 1: you know, I'm a fan of the show. Because it's
- 28:13Speaker 1: just I walked out Memory Lane and uh, living in
- 28:16Speaker 1: an environment, like I said, wasn't the environment I grew
- 28:18Speaker 1: up in. And thank God, but you guys are providing
- 28:21Speaker 1: the lifestyle for your kids in the future. They're gonna
- 28:23Speaker 1: give them true vision that they can do anything. My
- 28:27Speaker 1: environment wasn't like that, and that's a blessing. And you
