National Truancy Initiative Being Developed to Address Student Absenteeism
The Ministry of Education is preparing to implement a national truancy initiative involving multiple agencies and stakeholders, including the police, social development, welfare officials, principals, teachers and counsellors. The program will also include public education and targeted interventions in communities where absenteeism and school dropout are more prevalent.
