- 0:00I've been thinking a lot lately about the story where Moses meets God in the burning bush.
- 0:07God is speaking through the burning bush to Moses and I've been going back and forth and God has
- 0:11been explaining to him what he's going to ask of him to do after God gives him a few miracles that
- 0:16he can do and shows him that he can do it, that God will show up and be powerful through him.
- 0:23In verse 10, Moses said to the Lord, pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent,
- 0:30neither in the past nor since you've spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.
- 0:36So basically he's saying, I just can't do it. I don't know, don't have the right things to say.
- 0:42God's immediate reply is this. He says, who gave human beings their mouths?
- 0:49Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord?
- 0:57Now go, I will help you speak and I will teach you what to say. The fact is that God is in control
- 1:06of all variables and to question God when he has commanded us to do something like to share
- 1:12the gospel with others, to love our neighbor as ourselves, to love our enemies even.
- 1:16When we question God about the kind of things that we're supposed to do and about doing the
- 1:19things that we're supposed to do for him, we are forgetting his power, his ultimate sovereignty.
- 1:26He is able to do through us whatever he wants to do, whether we participate or not,
- 1:31whether we are willing or not. So let us be willing. Let us say, as you wish, Lord. And then
- 1:38he is gracious to provide the resources and to take care of it all.
- 1:42Thank you, Lord.
