- 2:59Speaker 1: If women on going to the movies, the world stops.
- 3:02Speaker 1: So that's just why am I doing this show. Because

- 3:11Speaker 1: respect or get the credit for the role that they
- 3:14Speaker 1: play in making this society a great society. And so

- 4:39Speaker 1: information that would change your life, information that would enhance
- 4:43Speaker 1: your opportunities to be successful. That's the key with money

- 5:36Speaker 1: is this someone really helping black for real? Well, I'm
- 5:40Speaker 1: kind of confused. I'm kind of kind confused by your question.
- 5:43Speaker 1: You asked me, you said this show is really real
- 5:46Speaker 1: and positive, uplifting, and then you asked me, it's it real?
- 5:49Speaker 1: So you know what I'm saying. What I'm saying with you,
- 5:51Speaker 1: I'm just in my mind you really got someone that's
- 5:55Speaker 1: out there fighting for us, and I'm just trying it's
- 5:58Speaker 1: real because this show and it's positive and you speak
- 6:01Speaker 1: so positive, you know, you make people want to go
- 6:03Speaker 1: get it, and you're just wondering, Man, this dude really
- 6:06Speaker 1: to connected and really really that's all we shard lovely
- 6:09Speaker 1: show man. If it's real for us, thank you. It
- 6:12Speaker 1: is real. That's why I'm here. I would just tell
- 6:13Speaker 1: you my life. I'm gonna telling my life. I'm just
- 6:15Speaker 1: telling a little table. I will tell you my life man,
- 6:17Speaker 1: because I fly in every Sunday to do this show.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I live in Atlanta. Fortunately in my life I've been successful,
- 6:24Speaker 1: so I live in Houston too, but I fly in
- 6:25Speaker 1: to do the show in Houston, and I I it's
- 6:29Speaker 1: about giving you information and it is very much real.
- 6:32Speaker 1: It's something I started on my Facebook page. When I
- 6:34Speaker 1: say something, money making conversations started on my Facebook page.
- 6:38Speaker 1: On my Facebook page, and I was just answering questions
- 6:40Speaker 1: every Monday and for about two hours. And then I
- 6:43Speaker 1: got the idea in May of this year that um,
- 6:47Speaker 1: I wanted to expand my reach. I wanted to reach
- 6:49Speaker 1: more people how people actually have conversations about. It's just
- 6:53Speaker 1: just just get out of the text world and get
- 6:55Speaker 1: out of the common world. And that's so it is
- 6:58Speaker 1: very much real. And I'm not going anywhere. And I'm
- 7:01Speaker 1: gonna tell you some good news about it is that
- 7:03Speaker 1: I Heart Radio just picked up my show for podcasts. Again,
- 7:08Speaker 1: I'm not going anywhere, my friend, just three months on
- 7:11Speaker 1: the air, I Heart Radio has picked up my show
- 7:14Speaker 1: for podcasts. So if you miss a show, you can
- 7:17Speaker 1: always go to I Heart Radio. Go under Business Finance.
- 7:20Speaker 1: You can go there right now. You go there right
- 7:21Speaker 1: now just to show you I am for real. Just
- 7:23Speaker 1: go right now to business Finance section of I Heart
- 7:26Speaker 1: radio dot com on the podcast sections and the business
- 7:31Speaker 1: and finance and you can listen to my shows and
- 7:33Speaker 1: this showing them. I just want to say one thing,
- 7:36Speaker 1: my brother, I'm gonna I'm gonna give you a name. Man,
- 7:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna call you the new Black Moses for the
- 7:41Speaker 1: black people. That's all I gotta say. Thank you. Hey man, uh,
- 7:45Speaker 1: the new Black Bols. I like that. I like that.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Oh you know, man, I'm taking all positive nicknames. And
- 7:52Speaker 1: that's a nickname that I would take to my grade,
- 7:54Speaker 1: my friend. Because guess what, notice that you. I'm glad
- 7:56Speaker 1: you called them because you know, because sometimes I talked
- 7:59Speaker 1: to so many people people feel there's a disconnect that
- 8:02Speaker 1: they can't call into my show, but you can't call in.
- 8:05Speaker 1: But to call in with just level of positivity, man,
- 8:08Speaker 1: it's amazing, and I feel it makes me feel good
- 8:10Speaker 1: and hopefully you make inspiring listeners. And that's the whole key.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I'm just gonna let you know it is the reason
- 8:15Speaker 1: you're on the air right now talking to me is
- 8:17Speaker 1: because you are an inspiration. Because I'm just taking your
- 8:21Speaker 1: values and letting people know that you are and you
- 8:24Speaker 1: and me are real people and we're just talking. And
- 8:26Speaker 1: all I'm just trying to do is give you information,
- 8:29Speaker 1: information about, you know, getting up at the same time
- 8:32Speaker 1: every day, Information about encouraging that if you're frustrated your job,
- 8:36Speaker 1: look at the options. But when you look at the options,
- 8:38Speaker 1: or is your plan to change. If you're not frustrated
- 8:42Speaker 1: your job and you want to do extra, then you
- 8:44Speaker 1: know that you have twenty four hours in the day.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Learn to use each hour in the day. Always mac
- 8:50Speaker 1: Always maximize your opportunities to be successful. That's what money
- 8:55Speaker 1: making conversation is all about. And that's why I'm on
- 8:58Speaker 1: the radio right now here today talking to not only
- 9:01Speaker 1: to celebrities, but also to everyday people. So if you
- 9:07Speaker 1: want to call me the Moses of small business, the
- 9:11Speaker 1: Black Moses of small businesses opportunities, I'm taking that title.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I'm taking that title. I'm taking it. I'm gonna keep
- 9:19Speaker 1: giving it. And the thing about it is that when
- 9:21Speaker 1: I went to and when I've invited celebrities to come
- 9:24Speaker 1: on the show, the one thing that I wanted to
- 9:27Speaker 1: term to hear their story is not you know you
- 9:29Speaker 1: their celebrities, so you only hear one side of their lives.
- 9:33Speaker 1: And the reason I invited them to be a part
- 9:35Speaker 1: of my show is that they're doing so many more
- 9:38Speaker 1: significant things in their life in the business world, in
- 9:41Speaker 1: the charitable world. I know that, you know. And when
- 9:45Speaker 1: I was working with Steve Harvey, you know, we we
- 9:49Speaker 1: started the the Mentoring Camp in Dallas where we were
- 9:53Speaker 1: flying one hundred boys and from around the country and
- 9:56Speaker 1: these boys for single mom households. We were changing their lives,
- 10:01Speaker 1: you know what was going inside our pockets. And we
- 10:03Speaker 1: were fortunately also get sponsors and then went to Disney.
- 10:08Speaker 1: I'm talking about the Walt Disney went to Orlando every year.
- 10:12Speaker 1: It was a bar's and girls opportunity to change young
- 10:16Speaker 1: people's lives. Because in the end, I have to have
- 10:19Speaker 1: a reason for being on this earth. I have to
- 10:22Speaker 1: have their legacy. And this is what this is all about.
- 10:25Speaker 1: When I'm doing this show, money making conversations, I'm trying
- 10:28Speaker 1: to create a legacy to be able to inspire not
- 10:31Speaker 1: only people my age, with young people that you listen
- 10:34Speaker 1: to my show, call in, tweet, Instagram, Facebook, anything you
- 10:40Speaker 1: can do today in social media, because that's the way
- 10:42Speaker 1: people are communicating nowadays, and a lot of people are
- 10:45Speaker 1: missing the boat because they're trying to hang on to
- 10:47Speaker 1: the old way or communicate the whole way the old way.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I ain't changing it where you have to change because
- 10:55Speaker 1: guess what revenue is being made over there. And that's
- 10:57Speaker 1: what this show is about, causing you to understand or
- 11:01Speaker 1: convincing you to understand that if you want to create
- 11:04Speaker 1: change in your life, you have to have a plan.
- 11:06Speaker 1: If you don't have a plan, listen to my show
- 11:09Speaker 1: long enough and you will get a plan. Because my
- 11:13Speaker 1: show is diverse. I have people from from the celebrity end,
- 11:18Speaker 1: have small businesses on here. Our business small businesses that
- 11:21Speaker 1: are startups. Have saw small businesses that are established, like
- 11:26Speaker 1: I have my man Elliott three on the show. Elliot
- 11:29Speaker 1: three has twenty eight stores in five airports around the
- 11:33Speaker 1: country and he's African American. Elliot three good friend of mine.
- 11:41Speaker 1: He was he was amazed that I put him on
- 11:43Speaker 1: the show, and I was amazed that he did my show.
- 11:48Speaker 1: That's the beauty of this relationship. Man. You know, to
- 11:52Speaker 1: ask your question again, dealer and my for real heck yeah,
- 11:56Speaker 1: I'm for real. Rushan McDonald money making conversations is about

- 13:08Speaker 1: keeps getting greater, It keeps getting great. Rashan McDonald's money
- 13:11Speaker 1: making conversation. I can talk, y'all, I can talk the
- 13:14Speaker 1: Black Bolses her money, make a conversation. Hi. This Rashaan McDonald.
- 13:22Speaker 1: That's Rashawn McDonald. You know, money making conversations is here
- 13:28Speaker 1: and I'm for real. That's the question of the day
- 13:31Speaker 1: is are you for real or man? Steeler came out
- 13:34Speaker 1: the box and said, Hey, I'm not saying that you're
- 13:37Speaker 1: not for real. I just can't believe that somebody on
- 13:40Speaker 1: the radio is doing something to try to change our
- 13:43Speaker 1: lives for free, because I'm not asking you. You don't
- 13:47Speaker 1: go to my You don't go to my Facebook page
- 13:49Speaker 1: and you click something and pop up a pop up.
- 13:54Speaker 1: You don't listen. You don't download my You don't go
- 13:57Speaker 1: to k Y and D and press A and and
- 14:00Speaker 1: suddenly you gotta have a subscription to listen to me.
- 14:02Speaker 1: You don't go over to you know, I Heart Radio
- 14:05Speaker 1: right now, go on the podcast business Finance section and
- 14:12Speaker 1: you can hear my past shows and my current shows.
- 14:17Speaker 1: That's what it's all about. Because I've known this for
- 14:20Speaker 1: a fact, because It's helped me in my life. Information
- 14:23Speaker 1: is key to success if you if you don't have information,
- 14:27Speaker 1: then guess what you way behind the line. And that's
- 14:30Speaker 1: what it prevents people from being successful, is that they
- 14:33Speaker 1: don't have information. And the worst part about it is
- 14:35Speaker 1: people who don't share information. That's what my show is about.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Money making conversations, about sharing information, sharing information so you
- 14:43Speaker 1: can win over sean. But you don't know me? Does
- 14:47Speaker 1: it matter? He just do Yes, I do know you. Yes,
- 14:50Speaker 1: I do know you. I do know you. I know
- 14:53Speaker 1: a version of you. I've sit down. I've sat down
- 14:57Speaker 1: next to a version of you in Golden Round, Crack
- 15:01Speaker 1: of Bar, Papa Dolls, Breakfast Club, LaPete, you know all
- 15:08Speaker 1: these Red jim and Nicks in Atlanta, norm Was in
- 15:10Speaker 1: New York City, the Griddle in Los Angeles, Legal Seafood
- 15:15Speaker 1: in d C. I've set next to you. And I've
- 15:18Speaker 1: also walked past people in the streets. What mistakes have
- 15:23Speaker 1: taken them from their homes into the streets. I don't
- 15:25Speaker 1: want you to get there. That's what money making conversations
- 15:28Speaker 1: is about. Before you jump, before you take that leap
- 15:31Speaker 1: of faith, because that's the term that's used a lot
- 15:34Speaker 1: a leap up faith. You know, I'm gonna tell you
- 15:37Speaker 1: about me when I I was working for ive BM
- 15:42Speaker 1: and I guess when I decided to be a comedian,
- 15:45Speaker 1: I left a job job. Wouldn't asking me to leave
- 15:47Speaker 1: that jobs in Richard, we want you to stay. You
- 15:50Speaker 1: want our best employees at IBM. But guess what I
- 15:54Speaker 1: decided I wanted to do something different in my life.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Was afraid? Yes, what made me afraid? They are known
- 16:06Speaker 1: the unknown. But but you're making the decision to change
- 16:08Speaker 1: your career. Why would be are known make you're afraid?
- 16:12Speaker 1: Because at my job, I know I go to work
- 16:15Speaker 1: at eight, I get off at five. I know at
- 16:17Speaker 1: the end of the week, I'm gonna get a check
- 16:20Speaker 1: that's known. But when you go out there, when you
- 16:24Speaker 1: make a decision to leave the known and go to
- 16:27Speaker 1: the unknown, I didn't know if I was gonna get
- 16:30Speaker 1: a gig to tell jokes. There was no guarantees. That's
- 16:36Speaker 1: what That's what this show is about. It's trying to
- 16:38Speaker 1: let you know that there is no easy route to success.
- 16:43Speaker 1: There's no guarantees to success. So if you want to
- 16:47Speaker 1: be successful, listen to my show Money Making Conversations every Monday,
- 16:51Speaker 1: because guess what, more and more you're gonna start here,
- 16:55Speaker 1: what I'm gonna get you there? Now, I'm I'm inviting
- 16:58Speaker 1: celebrities on the show to tell their stories so you
- 17:02Speaker 1: can see really they're just regular people, regular people who
- 17:06Speaker 1: are now famous making a difference. Well, guess what I'm
- 17:09Speaker 1: letting you know. I'm a regular person. I'm still a
- 17:13Speaker 1: regular person. I eat what you eat. I eat at
- 17:17Speaker 1: the waffle house. I love the waffle house. I eat grits.
- 17:22Speaker 1: I love me some grits. I am. Sometimes people call
- 17:26Speaker 1: me a fool, and I'm cool with that because guess what.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I enjoyed the prospects of being successful. But when I
- 17:37Speaker 1: have to be a person who needs to get his
- 17:42Speaker 1: act together to impress somebody, to put the blueprint to success,
- 17:48Speaker 1: for somebody to understand they can't be successful, and guess what,
- 17:52Speaker 1: I make it happen. And I will continue to make
- 17:55Speaker 1: it happen as long as you give me the opportunity
- 17:58Speaker 1: to win, and the way you give me an opportunity
- 18:01Speaker 1: to win. Okay, cool, I can't believe I got her.
- 18:06Speaker 1: She finally called in. We're gonna at least talk about
- 18:09Speaker 1: this my first guest. I feel fortunate to have her
- 18:12Speaker 1: own as an interview because she's so busy. She's an
- 18:16Speaker 1: icon in the rap game and an icon in the
- 18:18Speaker 1: business game. Please welcome to Money Making Conversations. One of
- 18:22Speaker 1: the co founders of the Hip Hop Sisters Foundation m
- 18:25Speaker 1: C Light Hey, Hey, good money. Hey m C. Now
- 18:31Speaker 1: I had a lot to talk about now. I know
- 18:32Speaker 1: we've pressed for time. Now that I appreciate you calling
- 18:34Speaker 1: me in, but I really want to talk about the
- 18:36Speaker 1: wealth absolutely well. Well, first off, good morning, Thank you

- 18:45Speaker 1: keep growing and expanding and it just gets no better
- 18:48Speaker 1: with you. So I love to follow you. And what
- 18:50Speaker 1: it is that you're doing wealth is womanhood, expansion, assets, leadership,
- 18:55Speaker 1: transformation and health. And what it really means is a
- 18:59Speaker 1: hundred and fifty. And then we all fly down to
- 19:01Speaker 1: Miami and we take three days to just concentrate on
- 19:05Speaker 1: us and deal with us holistically, and that means mind, body, soul,
- 19:11Speaker 1: and of course with the founder of the Wealth Experience,
- 19:15Speaker 1: Dr Lynn Richardson, she deals with finances. So it is
- 19:19Speaker 1: one of the things I tell women. It is such
- 19:22Speaker 1: a transformational ride. When you go down there, there is
- 19:26Speaker 1: no way that your life will not be changed after Well,
- 19:29Speaker 1: here's the deal, because because I've been aware of this
- 19:32Speaker 1: for a while, you know, when I was, you know,
- 19:33Speaker 1: always trying to get you interviewed because I want to
- 19:35Speaker 1: let people to know your brand. You know, brand is
- 19:37Speaker 1: beyond just entertainment. Your brand is about changing lives. Now, now,
- 19:42Speaker 1: first of all, let's talk about people can register for
- 19:45Speaker 1: this program. Correct, absolutely, wealth experienced dot info. Now. The
- 19:51Speaker 1: date of it is January four through the seventh. It's
- 19:55Speaker 1: down in the South Beach, which is Miami. They just
- 19:57Speaker 1: called Beach. You know you've been out South be just Southbeat,
- 20:00Speaker 1: but that's Miami, Florida. And so it's three days. Now.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Here's the thing about when you when you put together
- 20:05Speaker 1: a program like that, the main thing who does it benefit?
- 20:09Speaker 1: That's the thing because you always have daughters, you know,
- 20:11Speaker 1: I come down there with a you have three days
- 20:15Speaker 1: that you're trying to enrich people, and it's not about
- 20:17Speaker 1: the money, is about the spirit. Correct, Yes, absolutely, I
- 20:21Speaker 1: mean really all the money does go straight to educate
- 20:24Speaker 1: our men, which is one of our actually it's our
- 20:27Speaker 1: signature initiative with his sisters, the Foundation, and we send
- 20:31Speaker 1: young men to school, so you know, beyond taking care
- 20:35Speaker 1: of all of the needs of you know, to stay
- 20:37Speaker 1: at the hotel and of course feeding everyone, then that
- 20:40Speaker 1: money goes straight over to educate our men, to to
- 20:43Speaker 1: send young men to further their education. But it benefits everybody.
- 20:47Speaker 1: It benefits the people who are listed as panelists or
- 20:51Speaker 1: keynote speakers, because not only do they speak to the women,
- 20:54Speaker 1: but they also take some of the classes. So you
- 20:58Speaker 1: can be sitting right next to Salt from Salt and
- 21:00Speaker 1: Pepper or you know, Sheila E or you know whoever
- 21:04Speaker 1: it is that we have down there, because everybody is
- 21:06Speaker 1: looking to gain something. We are all we are all people,
- 21:11Speaker 1: you know. So for those who participate on any level,
- 21:15Speaker 1: if you're open and you're ready for change, it will happen. Well,
- 21:18Speaker 1: here's the beauty of it. I got Cheryl Biles Jackson.
- 21:21Speaker 1: She's gonna be on the show. So I'm gonna continue
- 21:23Speaker 1: to talk about this event throughout the whole day, and
- 21:26Speaker 1: as you get closer, like in November, I'd love to
- 21:28Speaker 1: bring you back onto the show so we can continue
- 21:30Speaker 1: to talk about it. Even if it's sold out, I
- 21:32Speaker 1: still want you to talk about it because I think
- 21:34Speaker 1: the whole encouragement platform, encouragement platform that you're trying to
- 21:37Speaker 1: create for women. But the key in this what you
- 21:40Speaker 1: said is that the scholarship opportunities are for young men. Okay,
- 21:45Speaker 1: when you do a wealth empowerment series that you're doing
- 21:48Speaker 1: and inviting all these ladies down and you turn around
- 21:51Speaker 1: and the benefit is for young men, why well, you
- 21:55Speaker 1: know it benefits young women too, and mentorship programs we're
- 21:59Speaker 1: all with, but we need to make these young men
- 22:03Speaker 1: strong so that these young women can can have husbands. Absolutely,
- 22:09Speaker 1: and so really the need for or the longing to
- 22:13Speaker 1: do scholarships for young men was just because of the
- 22:16Speaker 1: need that that is in place for young women to
- 22:20Speaker 1: actually have young men to coexist with, to grow with,
- 22:25Speaker 1: expand with, and create families with. Okay, now I went
- 22:28Speaker 1: on the website and I noticed you have what you
- 22:30Speaker 1: call ambassadors, correct, And now now, now these ambassadors, will
- 22:35Speaker 1: they be at the at the event this year? Some
- 22:37Speaker 1: of them? Yeah, Okay, I'm gonna call out something the
- 22:39Speaker 1: ambassadors that are tied to the program because they're significant
- 22:43Speaker 1: people in the industry. Uh. Erica Cabell from Mary and Mary,
- 22:48Speaker 1: which she is there every She's been there every year.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Let's see she'll be there or she's an ambassador on
- 22:54Speaker 1: the show. Um, Sheryl from Salton Pepper. That's m girl.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Uh niecy Gilbert from Aunt Brownstone, Uh huh, Nicky Kelly Pride. Yeah,
- 23:06Speaker 1: the price is you know, one of the people from
- 23:09Speaker 1: the very beginning of taking this to Miami who was involved. So,
- 23:14Speaker 1: yes there and has been there. Yeah. Faith yea Faith
- 23:19Speaker 1: Evans on this on the platform as well. She's been
- 23:22Speaker 1: there every year for us, showing up and showing out,
- 23:25Speaker 1: which we love her for. And first I really like
- 23:28Speaker 1: because it's about, you know, celebrating the inner and out
- 23:31Speaker 1: of beauty. It's miss bow Champ. Yes, yes, Ti she is. Uh,
- 23:36Speaker 1: she is one of our sisters. Certainly an ambassador and
- 23:40Speaker 1: shows up every year for us and so and so
- 23:42Speaker 1: when you put a program together like this, you know
- 23:44Speaker 1: it's all about sponsorship, is all about a participation again,
- 23:47Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, is January four through the seventh. It's
- 23:50Speaker 1: a program that's an inspirational program about empowering women with
- 23:56Speaker 1: with with solid spirit and solid foundations to be successful. Okay,
- 24:00Speaker 1: we're not trying to come down there and blaze you
- 24:02Speaker 1: with money. You gotta come down and have money to blaze.
- 24:05Speaker 1: It's about information, It's about the spirit because women, because
- 24:08Speaker 1: wealth stands for womanhood, expansion, assets, leadership, transformation and health.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I got to because see because you know, I'm a
- 24:20Speaker 1: big fan of yours and when I see and that's
- 24:22Speaker 1: why I created money Making Conversations, which because I was
- 24:25Speaker 1: able to get celebrities to come on and talk about
- 24:27Speaker 1: the other side of the life, the game changing events
- 24:30Speaker 1: that you guys are doing in the world today. Because
- 24:32Speaker 1: you know you travel. You know, I look at your schedule.
- 24:35Speaker 1: You sometimes you you you you in a city or
- 24:37Speaker 1: two three cities in a weekend. Sometimes when you're perform,
- 24:41Speaker 1: and that's all people see. It's the MC light, the legendary,
- 24:44Speaker 1: iconic wraps the superstar. But you're a superstar. You're superstar
- 24:49Speaker 1: and change your lives. That's what people gotta know. MC.
- 24:53Speaker 1: That's what this show is all about. It's about letting
- 24:56Speaker 1: the people know the legends uplifting out there and the
- 25:00Speaker 1: what you're doing in Miami and South Beach January four,
- 25:03Speaker 1: through the South a three day event. Now the three
- 25:06Speaker 1: day event ladies in general, women get your act together
- 25:12Speaker 1: in a I'm telling here's to be there she said,
- 25:14Speaker 1: a hundred and fifty women. You know what that means.
- 25:16Speaker 1: It means the sending this intimate, which means that you'll
- 25:19Speaker 1: be able to she said it, but I'm gonna repeat it.
- 25:21Speaker 1: You'll be able to talk to faith that you'll be
- 25:24Speaker 1: able to take a picture with Kelly Price and talk
- 25:28Speaker 1: to her. You're even sitting there and they have a
- 25:29Speaker 1: conversation with mclfe. You know, you'll be able to have conversations.
- 25:34Speaker 1: And that's why I love about this program because you
- 25:36Speaker 1: can go a thousand people and guess what, there's a disconnect,
- 25:40Speaker 1: But there's never a disconnect. I've not heard any woman
- 25:43Speaker 1: come from this program not praising their level participation. You're amazing,
- 25:49Speaker 1: You're amazing. Yes, well, thank you so much for Sean.
- 25:54Speaker 1: This is definitely love and yes, continue to talk about
- 25:57Speaker 1: it because that's how we spread the word. And we'll
- 25:59Speaker 1: be looking to you know, we'll be looking for the
- 26:02Speaker 1: sisters to show up. Uh, come January and get that
- 26:07Speaker 1: new year started. All right, I'm good with that. Again.
- 26:10Speaker 1: I'm gonna come gonna have you back on the show
- 26:11Speaker 1: in November so we can talk about it again, just
- 26:13Speaker 1: to spread the word. Sun your Miles Jackson be on
- 26:15Speaker 1: the show later on in the second hour, we'll be
- 26:17Speaker 1: talking about it again, just getting the word out. But again,
- 26:21Speaker 1: keep being great. I'm glad you're my friend. Okay, and
- 26:25Speaker 1: keep you and keep changing the world girl on and
- 26:27Speaker 1: off the stage, Ladies and gentlemen on money Baking Conversation,
- 26:30Speaker 1: give a big round of applause to mc light. God
- 26:33Speaker 1: bless you, Paul. I'm half a dast five thousand one flavors.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Listen here, Listen to here, Listen to that when I
- 26:47Speaker 1: went to comedian side, listen to me. That's what you're
- 26:50Speaker 1: supposed to. But listen here. Don't go nowhere. You want
- 26:55Speaker 1: to know how to fail? How the stars addressing five
- 26:58Speaker 1: thousand one flavor Pulam have a district out of Hall
- 27:02Speaker 1: of New York. Sean McDonald were boy money Making Conversation
- 27:05Speaker 1: the black closes. We're back r Sean McDonald. Is this
- 27:12Speaker 1: show for real? That was the question asked at the
- 27:15Speaker 1: top of the show. Yes, Money Making Conversation is real.
- 27:19Speaker 1: We have a women in powerment series that we're doing
- 27:21Speaker 1: on the show right now. I'm doing it because guess what,
- 27:24Speaker 1: I grew up with six sisters, so I've been empowered
- 27:28Speaker 1: by women all my life, I've been told what to do.
- 27:33Speaker 1: More importantly, women are very important in the buying circle
- 27:39Speaker 1: of this society. You look at anybody's account, they wanted
- 27:41Speaker 1: over how many women buying, how many women going to
- 27:44Speaker 1: the movie? How many many women are watching TV? Two
- 27:46Speaker 1: women have power. So it's important to remind everybody the base.
- 27:51Speaker 1: This base doesn't go any director. You don't care about
- 27:54Speaker 1: man when it comes to shopping. You don't care about men.
- 27:56Speaker 1: When it comes to sports, they don't care. They don't care.
- 27:59Speaker 1: They're trying to get more women to watch sports. That's
- 28:02Speaker 1: the goal. My next guest, it's a star. I know
- 28:07Speaker 1: you always wonder why these celebrities get their clothes. Who
- 28:11Speaker 1: dressed these celebrities? Wow, they look so fly. Well this
- 28:18Speaker 1: guess this young lady that got on the show, she's
- 28:20Speaker 1: the reason why. My next guest can answer that question
- 28:23Speaker 1: and more. She is president and CEO of five thousand
- 28:26Speaker 1: one Flavors and the owner of an excellent clothing boutique,
- 28:30Speaker 1: Hallo Habitastery in Hall of New York. Please welcome to
- 28:33Speaker 1: Money Making Conversations. Shane what Hello, Hello, Hello Shane. You
- 28:42Speaker 1: sound good. You've been vacationing out there in New York.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Been traveling to Polo Browse, You've been doing your things.
- 28:48Speaker 1: I actually just just came off of a vacation. You're correct, good,
- 28:53Speaker 1: good because you know I hear that relaxed tone in
- 28:55Speaker 1: your voice and the beauty of because when when somebody
- 28:59Speaker 1: tells you have a title of president and CEO of
- 29:01Speaker 1: a company, you know that you got you got both
- 29:04Speaker 1: of the positions. Lockdown. Yeah, well, you know, being an
- 29:09Speaker 1: entrepreneur you have to do everything. But that's kind of
- 29:12Speaker 1: like being a mom of the company. You have to
- 29:14Speaker 1: do every single thing that's required to be successful. Now
- 29:17Speaker 1: I want to I want to get in a little
- 29:19Speaker 1: detail about five thousand one flavors and of course to
- 29:22Speaker 1: store Hallam Happidashtar and you know we have in the
- 29:24Speaker 1: conversations we're gonna do later on about Hallam Happit. How
- 29:28Speaker 1: about Hallam HAPPI dast and this is not the only
- 29:30Speaker 1: time I'm gonna have you on the show, but I
- 29:32Speaker 1: wanted to bring you on the show because I just
- 29:33Speaker 1: called her when I heard she was back from vacation.
- 29:35Speaker 1: I wanted to get all this women empowerments show because
- 29:38Speaker 1: it's important. Let me just let me just run down
- 29:40Speaker 1: a short list of some of these celebrity clients that
- 29:43Speaker 1: they provide Taylor made clothes for UM Alicia Keys, Sean
- 29:48Speaker 1: p d Di Combs, Lebron, James L. L Coo, j
- 29:53Speaker 1: Will Smith, Rihanna, Mr Elliott, Fat Joe, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Beyonce,
- 30:03Speaker 1: jay Z, Chris Paul's Chris Paul named not even on
- 30:08Speaker 1: that list, but I know because I'll be I know
- 30:09Speaker 1: what they do up there in Hall of Happy. I
- 30:12Speaker 1: know what they do with five thousand one Flavors you know, yes, Rashan,
- 30:15Speaker 1: thanks too, So we are actually proud to be celebrating
- 30:18Speaker 1: our twenties anniversary this year for five thousand and one
- 30:21Speaker 1: Flavors UM. As you said, we have addressed to Who's
- 30:24Speaker 1: Who an entertainment and sport UM. We love to work
- 30:29Speaker 1: with all of our clients in any field as they
- 30:31Speaker 1: go from obscurity to themes, helping them create their image,
- 30:36Speaker 1: which is really important and and proud to be part
- 30:38Speaker 1: of the success of, you know, any project that they
- 30:41Speaker 1: work on, you you only get one chance to make
- 30:44Speaker 1: a first impression, and we're always proud to work with
- 30:46Speaker 1: our clients as they kind of throwing Paul into entertainers
- 30:50Speaker 1: and mobils UM. So yeah, you know, if you've ever
- 30:53Speaker 1: wondered who you know who made that fantastic outphitets on tour,
- 30:57Speaker 1: on stage in the movies, we've definitely UM have probably
- 31:00Speaker 1: worked with some of you know, your favorite celebrities. Okay,
- 31:03Speaker 1: if you're on Facebook, we're showing a lot of the fashions,
- 31:06Speaker 1: or you can go to ww dot five thousand one
- 31:09Speaker 1: flavors dot com and you can see all the fashions.
- 31:12Speaker 1: She's a different television show she's talking about. This is
- 31:14Speaker 1: a business that's been around for twenty five years. So
- 31:17Speaker 1: we're talking about the historical platform because of the fact
- 31:21Speaker 1: that you know, you just twenty five years just you know,
- 31:24Speaker 1: you know you you you're doing your thing and so
- 31:27Speaker 1: but they're transitional periods there. How do you stay effective
- 31:32Speaker 1: and how you stay in the game? Shake? Well, the
- 31:35Speaker 1: great thing is that, you know, the entertainment industry has
- 31:39Speaker 1: UM forever evolving a group of personalities to work with.
- 31:43Speaker 1: You get new artists, m artists branched off they work
- 31:46Speaker 1: with UM, you know, unsigned hype often become that the superstars.
- 31:51Speaker 1: UM artists diversified their platforms from becoming the musicians becoming
- 31:57Speaker 1: UM a key personality too, you know, so we just
- 32:01Speaker 1: kind of grow with our clients as they evolve. I
- 32:04Speaker 1: mean the great thing is once you help somebody look great,
- 32:06Speaker 1: they always need to look great. UM. So it's often
- 32:10Speaker 1: a ride that we take without clients, UM, you know,
- 32:13Speaker 1: from when they are struggling to when they are all,
- 32:16Speaker 1: like I said, mega superstars. And you know, we love
- 32:19Speaker 1: being part of that success. We just had an exhibit
- 32:22Speaker 1: of you know, some looks that we created that we're
- 32:25Speaker 1: really influential and in part of pop culture now in
- 32:28Speaker 1: the museum in the City of New York. And so
- 32:31Speaker 1: when you look so thank you, UM. When you look
- 32:34Speaker 1: at at the success of your clients, you really see
- 32:37Speaker 1: your success because you know, sometimes you don't you don't
- 32:40Speaker 1: think that fashion is important. But when you you know,
- 32:42Speaker 1: you helped create UM personalities and you help you help UM,
- 32:46Speaker 1: you know, motivate trends and motivate markets, you really realize
- 32:50Speaker 1: that there's more than just fashions. From a historical perspective,
- 32:53Speaker 1: your contributing to pop culture. So that's something that UM,
- 32:57Speaker 1: I've realized kind of looking back at all of you know,
- 33:00Speaker 1: my artist pictures that you know, not only are we
- 33:02Speaker 1: supplying great designs, but we're really helping change history. And
- 33:06Speaker 1: that's something that I never thought that fashion would do.
- 33:09Speaker 1: But it does. Not only have you, but you you're
- 33:12Speaker 1: making history. Like you said, you know, you don't display,
- 33:15Speaker 1: and you're being honored for your longevity but also your creativity.
- 33:18Speaker 1: And when I say the creativity, the whole aspect of
- 33:21Speaker 1: these last minute because you know you're dealing with celebrities
- 33:25Speaker 1: and so sometimes you're dealing with regular people like me
- 33:28Speaker 1: who come to you at the last minute. How do
- 33:29Speaker 1: you how do you deal with last minute requests? Because
- 33:32Speaker 1: you know, when you're in the entrepreneur world, you can't
- 33:34Speaker 1: say no, So how do you deal with last minute requests?
- 33:37Speaker 1: I'm talking about that twenty four hours suit that you
- 33:39Speaker 1: do well. We have an amazing staff of tailors um
- 33:44Speaker 1: something that we've worked with for our entire here twenty
- 33:46Speaker 1: five years in business, that definitely know our clients and
- 33:49Speaker 1: know our process. We are we we are almost fashion firefighters.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Sometimes we get a call in the morning, I need
- 33:59Speaker 1: something tonight, I need something you know I'm going to
- 34:02Speaker 1: buy or I'm going to this climate and I need
- 34:04Speaker 1: this looking and we have to really work with our clients.
- 34:07Speaker 1: We have a really understanding of what their needs with
- 34:11Speaker 1: their body types, what they will will not wear um
- 34:14Speaker 1: and you know, oftentimes sometimes we have to put outfits
- 34:17Speaker 1: on plane to accommodate our clients or our production company.
- 34:20Speaker 1: So we can definitely, you know, turn around something in hours,
- 34:24Speaker 1: twenty four hours. We we we can get a few
- 34:26Speaker 1: things in twenty four hours. We have an on staff
- 34:29Speaker 1: tiller Um that you know definitely knows what we need
- 34:34Speaker 1: and want, and you know, we make it happen. We've
- 34:36Speaker 1: never missed it that line, and we don't intend to.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Good again. Let me just mention the client list because
- 34:42Speaker 1: we're talking to Jay Woods. She's the president in CEO
- 34:45Speaker 1: five thousand one Flavors. She's also the owner of hallm
- 34:48Speaker 1: Habit Dashery, which is located in Harlem, New York. I've
- 34:51Speaker 1: been in that store. Is a fantastic store. Is the
- 34:54Speaker 1: very colectic store you you can go in there. So
- 34:56Speaker 1: just sit down and just kick it, you know, because
- 34:59Speaker 1: they just sortable. Story is a comfortable story because you
- 35:01Speaker 1: know I walked in there. You know I'm already fashion.
- 35:04Speaker 1: You know I'm I'm already fashion. So I made my
- 35:06Speaker 1: statement and I walked into because you don't walk into
- 35:09Speaker 1: hallam habit dasters don't have your actively. You can't walk
- 35:12Speaker 1: in there. You know, the pants ain't right to shoes
- 35:14Speaker 1: and right. So you know what, Sean mcdunn walked in there,
- 35:16Speaker 1: everything was right. Let me just mention again five thousand
- 35:23Speaker 1: one flavors dot com. It's w W dot five thousand
- 35:26Speaker 1: one flavors dot com. I have her on the show
- 35:28Speaker 1: to talk about the significant roles that females or women
- 35:31Speaker 1: are playing in the in the business world, not only
- 35:34Speaker 1: the business world, but also dominating the whole facet of
- 35:37Speaker 1: of how the economic scale that we call, you know,
- 35:40Speaker 1: the financial bottom line. Some of the celebrities c. C. Sabathia,
- 35:44Speaker 1: that's a picture for New York Yankees, Alicia Keys, Sean P. D. D.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Cohen who don't know him, who don't know, Lebron James,
- 35:51Speaker 1: who don't know LLL Coo j who don't know Will Smith,
- 35:54Speaker 1: who don't know Rihanna, who don't know missy Ellett, Fat
- 35:59Speaker 1: Joeen for Lopez, Lady Gaga, Beyonce. You know when you
- 36:03Speaker 1: did the Beyonce thing, you did it was her daughter.
- 36:06Speaker 1: They did matching jackets. Correct, yes, we did. We got
- 36:09Speaker 1: a call for m Halloween consting to recreate the salt
- 36:14Speaker 1: and Pepper jackets, so kind and jackets that salt and
- 36:18Speaker 1: pepper war Um, so we knew that blue and um
- 36:22Speaker 1: Beyonce was gonna match. We you know, we can tell
- 36:24Speaker 1: anyone until it came out. UM, but you know, we've
- 36:26Speaker 1: actually gotten a lot of different calls from some of
- 36:28Speaker 1: our clients for Halloween costin. So we were very happy,
- 36:31Speaker 1: you know, to reproduce those for Beyonce and her daughter. Um.
- 36:35Speaker 1: We actually had made a few for um Salt and
- 36:39Speaker 1: Pepper and Wendy Williams UM, so they knew you know
- 36:42Speaker 1: who to contact to retreat those works. My dear, I
- 36:45Speaker 1: want to thank you for being on my show again
- 36:49Speaker 1: celebrating twenty five years of industry excellence in the fashion
- 36:54Speaker 1: clothing industry. You can make it. You can make it.
- 36:57Speaker 1: You can take your time and make it. But if
- 36:59Speaker 1: you need it fresh, they got it for you right there.
- 37:01Speaker 1: That's five thousand one flavors, hall m have a dash Free?
- 37:05Speaker 1: Just timmy, what is the future of Hallam have a
- 37:07Speaker 1: dash Free? And what is the future of five thous
- 37:09Speaker 1: one flavors? Before we get out of here, well, five
- 37:13Speaker 1: thousand and one definitely caters to our celebrity client child
- 37:16Speaker 1: and we realized, um, that we needed to create a
- 37:20Speaker 1: retail outlet that people who are not celebrities but have
- 37:23Speaker 1: their own red carpet moments can come and you know
- 37:26Speaker 1: purchase always unique designed. So that's why Harlem Haberdasher was created.
- 37:29Speaker 1: I broughtn't much more of our family and this brand,
- 37:33Speaker 1: So the sthetic is definitely based on Harlem, paining homage
- 37:36Speaker 1: to you know, the flag and the style of Harlem.
- 37:39Speaker 1: When my husband and partner and designer guide would got
- 37:42Speaker 1: dis flavor from them, tell him tell I didn't mention
- 37:45Speaker 1: his name because there's women empowerment that's on that got
- 37:47Speaker 1: beat me up. Now he's fine, Um, but I definitely
- 37:53Speaker 1: you know that, you know, bringing in the family also
- 37:55Speaker 1: allowed us to bring in you know, style, but also
- 37:58Speaker 1: a lot of community in philanthropy. So um, you know,
- 38:01Speaker 1: Harlely have a Dastary is definitely much more of a
- 38:03Speaker 1: lifestyle brand, UM promoting kind of all of those um
- 38:07Speaker 1: things that we love, family, legacy, excellent fashion, UM and community.
- 38:13Speaker 1: So you know, it's still about looking fly, but it's
- 38:15Speaker 1: also about you know, living a well rounded life. And
- 38:18Speaker 1: I know your your dream and UM and I want
- 38:20Speaker 1: to be a part of that is to get hall
- 38:23Speaker 1: and have a dash reies across this country, not only
- 38:25Speaker 1: in airports but in um in um topping malls around
- 38:30Speaker 1: the country. And uh, that's a that's that's another big
- 38:33Speaker 1: part of being a president in the CEO of a
- 38:35Speaker 1: company is having a vision to expand correct. Oh oh
- 38:39Speaker 1: it is. You know some people have exit strategies, but
- 38:41Speaker 1: then you know before you have that, you have to
- 38:44Speaker 1: have an expansion plan. And you know, for me, I
- 38:47Speaker 1: love the aesthetic of our store, UM, and I think
- 38:51Speaker 1: that that still would definitely be replicated, you know all
- 38:54Speaker 1: over the world. Lifestyle brand for me is important UM
- 38:58Speaker 1: everything that I know and love that you see the story,
- 39:00Speaker 1: you can check us out were online Harlem, Habit Ashley
- 39:03Speaker 1: or a Habit Ashley n y ste if you want
- 39:05Speaker 1: to see picks of the offerings or store. You can
- 39:08Speaker 1: definitely kind of feel like the love of family fashion
- 39:12Speaker 1: UM in the brand. So you know, we want to
- 39:15Speaker 1: take that that fashion love and legacy all over the world.
- 39:19Speaker 1: My dear thank you. I appreciate you as always. Definitely
- 39:22Speaker 1: will have you back on the show in the fall
- 39:23Speaker 1: so we can talk about that fall line. You know,
- 39:26Speaker 1: especially who maybe before I don't know before after Halloween,
- 39:30Speaker 1: so you know, because you won't give us any secrets
- 39:32Speaker 1: on who you're making costume for, so I probably have
- 39:34Speaker 1: you after Halloween so we can talk about who you had,
- 39:37Speaker 1: who you made Halloween outfeeds for outfit for again, I'm
- 39:41Speaker 1: talking to Shade Woods, Hallom Habitdastery. Just google Hallom Habitastery,
- 39:46Speaker 1: Just google it. Just google it. Five thousand more flavors,
- 39:50Speaker 1: Just google it. They're the best twenty five years. Five years.

- 40:17Speaker 1: it's personal hits. It's coming up next. We're gonna keep
- 40:19Speaker 1: building this brand, y'all, and I am for real. Little
- 40:24Speaker 1: James Brown MoMA, y'all. Look Jay Brown. Moment they tell
- 40:30Speaker 1: me she's on the line, that means I gotta talk
- 40:33Speaker 1: to her. If She's on the line. My next guest
- 40:35Speaker 1: can be heard on radio everywhere everywhere. I'm gonna tell
- 40:40Speaker 1: you why. When I'm in Atlanta, I listened to her
- 40:43Speaker 1: at night on Praise one on two point five. When
- 40:46Speaker 1: I land in Houston on Sunday morning, I listened to
- 40:48Speaker 1: her on Magic one O two. She is a groundbreaker,
- 40:52Speaker 1: a game changer in the gospel music world. Please welcome
- 40:55Speaker 1: the money making conversation. Don't leave mc card yet. Girl.
- 41:06Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you something. I listened to me some
- 41:09Speaker 1: Darline McCoy. I do, I do, And That's what I'm saying,
- 41:15Speaker 1: because you know I'm unfortunately I live in Houston. I
- 41:17Speaker 1: live in Atlanta, and so at night, you know, I mean,
- 41:20Speaker 1: I drive around because I come from my officer. I
- 41:22Speaker 1: have an officer in Buckhead and sometimes I work later.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Guess what I got you on my radio one or
- 41:27Speaker 1: two point five, and I fly and I take the
- 41:31Speaker 1: money making conversation to k Y and D Studios in Houston, Texas.
- 41:34Speaker 1: So I always fly in on Sunday morning when I land.
- 41:37Speaker 1: Guess what I'm listening to you Spirit top fifteen inspirational
- 41:44Speaker 1: hits come on. That's what I'm talking about. I'm gonna
- 41:49Speaker 1: telling something. You're the one really turned me on to J. J. Harshton.
- 41:54Speaker 1: You deserve it, Yes, man, incredible song is so powerful,
- 41:58Speaker 1: isn't it. You don't want you don't want to turn
- 42:01Speaker 1: me onto that because of the fact that you know again,
- 42:04Speaker 1: I'm I'm a type of guy. I'm not gonna I'm
- 42:06Speaker 1: gonna be the last person probably gonna go to church.
- 42:08Speaker 1: I'm not bragging on that. Just my personality, you know
- 42:10Speaker 1: what I'm saying. That doesn't mean I want to believe
- 42:12Speaker 1: in God. It's just that, you know, my wife and
- 42:14Speaker 1: my daughter, we're going to church. I go, okay, pray
- 42:17Speaker 1: for me. They're going out that because they know they
- 42:21Speaker 1: know I'm gonna sit right there and relax. Come back.
- 42:25Speaker 1: I fixed breakfast and everything. They know me, They know me,
- 42:28Speaker 1: They know me. You know we should die for breakfast
- 42:30Speaker 1: or dinner. You know, they said, I'll started eating. Goa.
- 42:33Speaker 1: Ain't you gonna wait till we pray? Oh? Yeah, okay, baby, Okay, cool,
- 42:38Speaker 1: We're good. We're good. We're good now, okay cool. You
- 42:40Speaker 1: know they know me, they know you. Just look my daughter, dad, dad, Dad,
- 42:45Speaker 1: You wait till we bless the food? I said, Well,
- 42:47Speaker 1: you know, y'all was over there talking and don't put
- 42:50Speaker 1: no food in front of me. Don't expect me not
- 42:52Speaker 1: to start. Now, I'm just gonna tell you, Dolly, don't
- 42:55Speaker 1: put no food in front of me. Now. You know
- 42:58Speaker 1: I'm don't start either, you know, and so you need
- 43:03Speaker 1: tell them keep the food on the buffet. There you go.
- 43:09Speaker 1: I never just said but only but I'm telling you
- 43:11Speaker 1: to you attract people like me as well as traditional
- 43:14Speaker 1: people to the music game. And I think that's important
- 43:17Speaker 1: that you hear that from me, because you're you're you're
- 43:20Speaker 1: you're you are, You're engaging a group of people who
- 43:25Speaker 1: probably wouldn't be engaged because your spirit is right, and
- 43:28Speaker 1: your conversation is because you talk about everything. You talk
- 43:32Speaker 1: about life issues on your shows, some of your topics,
- 43:36Speaker 1: you know, you know, when you talk about traditional you know,
- 43:39Speaker 1: gospel conversation, people might say it's controversial because the fact
- 43:43Speaker 1: you bring up life stories, life issues, dating relationships, you know,
- 43:47Speaker 1: and because I hear these questions, especially on the spirit.
- 43:50Speaker 1: You know, you always drop a question and have callers
- 43:52Speaker 1: going back with feedback. Why is that? Why why are
- 43:55Speaker 1: you stepping out there doing it? That? Darline McCoy wait,
- 43:59Speaker 1: I will I tell you what U were, son. It's
- 44:01Speaker 1: it's one of those things. If I can't keep it
- 44:03Speaker 1: real and be real about the reality, there's no sense
- 44:06Speaker 1: of me doing it, you know what I mean. It's
- 44:08Speaker 1: it's one of those things that if I can't be
- 44:10Speaker 1: honest about things that I see and I go through.
- 44:12Speaker 1: I'm a child of God, you know. I worship God
- 44:15Speaker 1: to Jesus Christ all of that, but I understand who
- 44:18Speaker 1: Christ is. Christ was a regular comming guy, and he
- 44:22Speaker 1: hung out with people who didn't have God because they
- 44:25Speaker 1: were people that didn't have God, you know. And and
- 44:29Speaker 1: people have, you know, conversations, situations, all kinds of stuff
- 44:34Speaker 1: that will puzzle them all day long, and you know,
- 44:37Speaker 1: at least give us an opportunity to talk about it
- 44:39Speaker 1: and give some give us some insight, you know, or
- 44:42Speaker 1: or just get some different perspectives and to things that
- 44:45Speaker 1: we're just going through in daily life. You know. It's
- 44:48Speaker 1: just I've just never been that rigid person. I'll go
- 44:52Speaker 1: to church too, but sometimes I don't because why I'm tired.
- 44:58Speaker 1: Great God, we have technologist. Sometimes I can put my
- 45:01Speaker 1: paths up on my phone, absolutely phone. That's a real
- 45:07Speaker 1: small then he real small on that phone, you know,
- 45:09Speaker 1: real small. Sometimes it's just that wins. You know, I
- 45:13Speaker 1: have a real relationship with him, and he and he's
- 45:16Speaker 1: in my whole life, not in my church life. Okay,
- 45:18Speaker 1: now let's talk about The Nightly Spirit because that's the
- 45:21Speaker 1: groundbreaker because of it's a nightly syndicated show on radio one. Okay,
- 45:25Speaker 1: Reach Media, let me just give the credit where you
- 45:27Speaker 1: can hear this here, this fantastic person, because you can
- 45:30Speaker 1: download the app reach Media app Radio want to app,
- 45:33Speaker 1: and you can hear a show it's called The Nightly Spirit.
- 45:35Speaker 1: You're the first African American woman solo to hold the
- 45:40Speaker 1: night music show. Correct, right, that's exactly right. And wow,
- 45:46Speaker 1: like who would have thought, actually, you know, I'm actually
- 45:48Speaker 1: a singer, and then to be in radio first of
- 45:52Speaker 1: all was just you know, amazing to me. But now
- 45:55Speaker 1: to have a syndication, it's something that I never would
- 45:58Speaker 1: have thought would have happened to to me. But it
- 46:01Speaker 1: was just one of those things, you know, the lower
- 46:03Speaker 1: order my steps, and this was the step. And yeah,
- 46:07Speaker 1: it's groundbreaking. And so so let me talking about it
- 46:11Speaker 1: because you have that show, because this is a lot
- 46:13Speaker 1: of different philosophies that you have a nightly show that
- 46:15Speaker 1: you do and that you do on reach media platform,
- 46:20Speaker 1: which is Radio one. The Houston nation I listened to
- 46:23Speaker 1: in the Houston is the Radio one in the station
- 46:25Speaker 1: I listened to in Atlanta's Radio one, and Radio one
- 46:27Speaker 1: is owned by Africa Ligands, and I called African is
- 46:30Speaker 1: a very good friend. They gave Steve Harvey and myself.
- 46:32Speaker 1: I first start on radio back in two thousands on
- 46:36Speaker 1: the name two point three to Beat, so I'm very
- 46:38Speaker 1: from me with the Radio one brand. And they also
- 46:40Speaker 1: on TV one as well, so they have a strong
- 46:44Speaker 1: base into the African American community. So when when when
- 46:47Speaker 1: you do your show, and I would just tell you
- 46:49Speaker 1: the things that I connect with with you, Okay, okay,
- 46:53Speaker 1: when I'm listening to you, first of all, information, you
- 46:55Speaker 1: give me information. First of all, you make it sound
- 46:59Speaker 1: like if I heard away from this radio show, I'm
- 47:03Speaker 1: gonna miss something you got. You got me at hello,
- 47:09Speaker 1: as they say, And that's that's a gift. Now, because
- 47:12Speaker 1: you say you're you're a singer and then you're falling
- 47:14Speaker 1: into this, don't ever use the word falling into you.
- 47:16Speaker 1: This is the path you're supposed to go, because you
- 47:18Speaker 1: can still say but you're changing lives now from us
- 47:21Speaker 1: from a spiritual standpoint because and if a lot of
- 47:24Speaker 1: people use their word, they go spiritual gospel. Spiritual spirit
- 47:28Speaker 1: is your soul. Spirit is your how you get up.
- 47:31Speaker 1: It's your faith, your understanding of how you want to
- 47:33Speaker 1: be successful in life. And that's what you're doing now. Well,
- 47:39Speaker 1: And I wanted I say that to you because of
- 47:41Speaker 1: the fact that you know for me, and that's why
- 47:43Speaker 1: I'm telling you. You got me in two cities, girl,
- 47:45Speaker 1: You got me in two cities because of what you're doing.
- 47:48Speaker 1: And so last week when I was putting together the
- 47:51Speaker 1: women Empowerment series so that we're doing today because all
- 47:54Speaker 1: the ladiest on the show had em c LFE just
- 47:56Speaker 1: got off the show with Shay Woods out of Hall
- 47:59Speaker 1: of happidast if thousand one flavors. And now I got
- 48:02Speaker 1: you on the show because of the fact you're pioneer
- 48:05Speaker 1: but as your inspiration. But also you focus on people
- 48:08Speaker 1: moving forward because you also ask business type questions on
- 48:11Speaker 1: your show and you get business type answers. Why is
- 48:14Speaker 1: your show so diverse, young lady? That's what I want.
- 48:18Speaker 1: Why is Nightly Spirit got Roushawan is fired? Why doesn't
- 48:22Speaker 1: it's spirit top fifty inspirational. Here got Rashwan inspired. I
- 48:26Speaker 1: just supposed to just listening to the songs. Why does
- 48:29Speaker 1: Darley McCaw have me trapped listening too? You were starting,
- 48:34Speaker 1: Oh my god, you know what Rashaan. What it is is,
- 48:37Speaker 1: I have a really great opportunity to reach people, and
- 48:40Speaker 1: as much as I can give, I have to give it.
- 48:44Speaker 1: As much as I can. I can offer information and inspirations, ma'am,
- 48:48Speaker 1: Come on, people, that's in my heart. You know what
- 48:51Speaker 1: I mean. That's to know me off the air, to
- 48:53Speaker 1: know that about me. So I have to you know,
- 48:56Speaker 1: I have to give Darlene and and the thing that
- 48:59Speaker 1: Early cares about. All things have to come with me
- 49:02Speaker 1: on the show. Oh I can't do it. Well, you're
- 49:05Speaker 1: doing it. You're doing it. And you know one of
- 49:08Speaker 1: these people like I've talked to your London Adams. I
- 49:10Speaker 1: consider her friends. She's one of these people. And you
- 49:14Speaker 1: have the unique talent where you know, gospel is just
- 49:16Speaker 1: a brand that you are pushing. You can push it
- 49:18Speaker 1: in pop, you can push it in r and bring.
- 49:20Speaker 1: You can be I can see you on Entertainment tonight,
- 49:22Speaker 1: I can see you on Good Morning America. You have
- 49:24Speaker 1: that type of talent, and I was talking. I always
- 49:27Speaker 1: tell people that over and over again because sometimes people
- 49:30Speaker 1: don't think because you said wow, don't say wow, you
- 49:33Speaker 1: got it, you got it, you got you got all that. Hey,
- 49:36Speaker 1: nobody saw Steve Harvey hosting Family a few Nobody saw
- 49:40Speaker 1: Steve Harvey, you know, having to talk to your whole
- 49:42Speaker 1: Nobody saw Steve Harvey on ABC, Fox and CBS and
- 49:46Speaker 1: A B and NBC all at one time. So I'm
- 49:49Speaker 1: just telling you is that I've been motivating and telling
- 49:52Speaker 1: people for a long time what they couldn't do. I've
- 49:55Speaker 1: been telling talking to Jamie Fox. I've talked to Gabrielle Union.
- 49:58Speaker 1: I'll talk with Ley I'm talking about. I've talked to
- 50:00Speaker 1: Robert Townsend. I've talked to a lot of people in
- 50:02Speaker 1: the celebrity business. But I also talked to CEOs and president.
- 50:05Speaker 1: I'm here to tell you right now, Darline McCoy, you're
- 50:08Speaker 1: a special talent. You inspire with Sean McDonald not only
- 50:12Speaker 1: two cities, but I carry your tone, I carere your beliefs,
- 50:15Speaker 1: I carry your values every day in my life. And
- 50:18Speaker 1: don't stop what you're doing. Don't stop. Thank you so
- 50:23Speaker 1: don't don't be making me cry. I'm trying to send
- 50:25Speaker 1: that you got quiet that way, Oh my God, Like
- 50:33Speaker 1: you don't understand how how much I honored that, because
- 50:35Speaker 1: you know, you have been such a dynamic person and
- 50:39Speaker 1: in the lives of so many celebrities over so many years.
- 50:43Speaker 1: So to hear that from you was just it's extremely humbling,
- 50:46Speaker 1: and I really appreciate it and hold onto those works
- 50:49Speaker 1: because you know, at the end of the day, I
- 50:51Speaker 1: know that a lot of people, you know, seek the
- 50:54Speaker 1: gospel as a genre of music, that that's an exclusive
- 50:58Speaker 1: to just the people that go to hurt people that
- 51:01Speaker 1: you know, and that and I have never seen God
- 51:04Speaker 1: that way. I have never seen him. And it never
- 51:07Speaker 1: understood God to be somebody that's exclusive to one people.
- 51:10Speaker 1: I just didn't. And um, you know, I see it
- 51:13Speaker 1: as a platform. I see postful as a platform for
- 51:16Speaker 1: everyone to have an opportunity to be inspired and their face,
- 51:20Speaker 1: you know, to be renewed. And that's just who I'm playing,
- 51:24Speaker 1: and that's and it comes out and my personality because
- 51:27Speaker 1: it's all th am Um, you know I hang out
- 51:30Speaker 1: with are all kinds of people you know, and and
- 51:33Speaker 1: and all you know because I'm all kind of people.
- 51:36Speaker 1: I'm all kind of I hang out with all kinds
- 51:38Speaker 1: of people, a lot of people, you know. I have
- 51:40Speaker 1: friends that, um, I have a real actually and and
- 51:43Speaker 1: I'm probably going straight there. But I'm just gonna going
- 51:46Speaker 1: straight there. I have some friends who are atheists, and
- 51:52Speaker 1: I had a conversation with one and and he says,
- 51:55Speaker 1: I'm atheists. I said, why do you people say that?
- 51:57Speaker 1: And he says, he's just because I am. I said,
- 52:01Speaker 1: why don't you stop professing that? Because I watched God
- 52:04Speaker 1: in your life, I say, and I think, I think
- 52:08Speaker 1: perhaps you haven't been in this to them correctly, and
- 52:11Speaker 1: maybe that's what it is. But if we don't do this,
- 52:14Speaker 1: if we don't, you know, let people know that he's
- 52:17Speaker 1: that God is real and he's available to everybody, we'll
- 52:20Speaker 1: just shut we will feel like, you know, we're shut
- 52:23Speaker 1: down and just a little a little club and a
- 52:25Speaker 1: little group all by yourself. It's a quick I can't be.
- 52:28Speaker 1: That's the Darling McCarthy gets me every day on the
- 52:31Speaker 1: radio in Atlanta. Hey Darley, can you can I call you?
- 52:36Speaker 1: Like everyone wants them to come on my show. Every
- 52:38Speaker 1: couple of months of washing Pater okay, we would be
- 52:41Speaker 1: Please let me come on your show. Thank you. I
- 52:44Speaker 1: appreciate you. I appreciate you inspiring people today. I just
- 52:47Speaker 1: want you to hear Rashawn story. That's why I brought
- 52:49Speaker 1: you on my radio show, Money Making Conversations, so you
- 52:52Speaker 1: can hear Rashawn's testimony to let you know that this
- 52:56Speaker 1: show is about celebrities, and you are a celebrity, but
- 52:59Speaker 1: it's about the spiring everyday people. And that's what I created,
- 53:02Speaker 1: money Making a Conversation. I'm only using you as a
- 53:05Speaker 1: tool to be able to inspire people. Let everybody know,

- 53:51Speaker 1: you hear me? Melissa about to bring you up my
- 53:54Speaker 1: next guest. It is the founding CEO of Allies of
- 53:58Speaker 1: Married Global Network, global organization that connects, educates, and advocates
- 54:03Speaker 1: advocates for women of color and business. Please welcome to
- 54:06Speaker 1: Money Making Conversation. It's her first time, but it may
- 54:09Speaker 1: not be her last time. Melissa Alibama. Now, Melissa, how
- 54:14Speaker 1: are you doing again? I'm gonna stop doing these types now.
- 54:21Speaker 1: She's staring at the TV. I'm about the waste five
- 54:26Speaker 1: minutes trying to get her to hear me. She has
- 54:28Speaker 1: to touching the screen and listen. I hear laughing and listen,
- 54:32Speaker 1: can you hear me talking to I'm gonna stop doing
- 54:34Speaker 1: these types, y'all. Y'all just kind of like roaring in
- 54:36Speaker 1: my radio show. I'm trying to motivate people. I'm gonna
- 54:39Speaker 1: roll Melissa. We're calling you on the phone. Come on now,
- 54:43Speaker 1: because she's just staring. She don't hear nothing that's coming
- 54:46Speaker 1: out of my mouth. Unless let everybody knows. She's a writer, mentor,
- 54:50Speaker 1: and speaker. Melissa earned her bachelor and master's degree in
- 54:53Speaker 1: psychology from Roosevelt University. Melissa also offers transformational talks and
- 54:58Speaker 1: corporate events on college campus and powerment events and in
- 55:02Speaker 1: community forums. She also have a web a website ww dot.
- 55:07Speaker 1: I can hear talking. You got him. I told you
- 55:10Speaker 1: to be ready to Robert. I'm gonna start telling your
- 55:11Speaker 1: names on the radio now, trying to keep you all
- 55:13Speaker 1: in the dark. Now, I told Robert, if this guy
- 55:17Speaker 1: don't work, immediately called Melissa. Now he obviously didn't believe me.
- 55:24Speaker 1: You know, keep getting the answer machine. I told us, said, man,
- 55:27Speaker 1: make sure you have a phone that works. Now, have
- 55:30Speaker 1: a phone that works. Now, my little show. I'm gonna
- 55:33Speaker 1: calling my little show because it was big time a
- 55:35Speaker 1: minute ago. Now as a little show, because I can't.
- 55:38Speaker 1: I'm looking at Melissa on the screen. I'm listen looking
- 55:41Speaker 1: at the screen. I'm looking at Melissa. Neither one of
- 55:45Speaker 1: us know what the head going on. Fortunately for me,
- 55:47Speaker 1: I coul least talked to America. I at least talk
- 55:50Speaker 1: to people on Facebook. I at least talk to people
- 55:53Speaker 1: on k Y and N used to. I at least
- 55:55Speaker 1: gonna be heard when I go on the IPAR radio
- 55:58Speaker 1: dot com. I I I heart radio dot com on
- 56:01Speaker 1: the podcast going to the business finance section. At least
- 56:05Speaker 1: you can be able to find me. But Paul, Melissa,
- 56:08Speaker 1: all she don't know is you're looking at the screen.
- 56:10Speaker 1: She's looking at her keyboard. She don't know. Now she's
- 56:12Speaker 1: making a little frowny face with her nose. She doesn't
- 56:15Speaker 1: even know. I see all this because she's trying to
- 56:18Speaker 1: make it happen. And Paul Robert over here, he and
- 56:20Speaker 1: dialed her number about fifteen times and still and still
- 56:25Speaker 1: can't get on the phone. Still can't get on the phone.
- 56:27Speaker 1: My next guest will be in studio, so we will
- 56:31Speaker 1: not have any problems with Skype, will have no problem
- 56:34Speaker 1: with phone call. My next guests will be in studio.
- 56:38Speaker 1: In fact, after this show, I am banning all Skype
- 56:42Speaker 1: from my show moving forward, there'd be normal skyping on
- 56:46Speaker 1: money making conversations moving forward. I am wasting people's time
- 56:51Speaker 1: and energy. They get excited because that is what they're
- 56:55Speaker 1: trying to make a different like Deyler said, Dealer said
- 56:57Speaker 1: at the top of the show. At the top of
- 56:58Speaker 1: the show, Diller said, this my very first call. He
- 57:01Speaker 1: called in and said, is this for real? I asked Dealer,
- 57:05Speaker 1: what does he mean by that? Because I thought he's
- 57:08Speaker 1: about to blast me and talking about me. He said, no,
- 57:11Speaker 1: I'm just making a statement that is this for real?
- 57:16Speaker 1: How could a dude like Rashan McDonald come on the radio,
- 57:20Speaker 1: don't know none of us and his number one goal
- 57:23Speaker 1: is the past blessings of success? That was his statement.
- 57:27Speaker 1: Is this for real? Now? I asked my staff. Right
- 57:30Speaker 1: now I see Melissa on the screen? Is this for real?
- 57:37Speaker 1: Is this for real? Another skype call that ain't going nowhere?
- 57:41Speaker 1: That's what I want them pull. Melissa on the call,
- 57:44Speaker 1: she had five questions, tell me about your organization? Who
- 57:48Speaker 1: is a lies a Mary? A. Second question was why
- 57:51Speaker 1: do more women need their own business and how it
- 57:54Speaker 1: has been a business on the Impacted your Life call.
- 57:58Speaker 1: That was a second second impactful my Woman in Parmer series.
- 58:02Speaker 1: Her third question was how does the Allies of Married
- 58:05Speaker 1: Global Network support women entrepreneurs? You know she has something
- 58:10Speaker 1: to sell on that. Her fourth question was that she
- 58:13Speaker 1: wanted me to ask her what is the biggest obstacles
- 58:16Speaker 1: that African American women in business face? What's the big
- 58:21Speaker 1: biggest obstacle that's that's the that's the question that needs
- 58:25Speaker 1: to be answered. And right now, I can't even answer
- 58:28Speaker 1: that question. The fifth question was everyone says money is
- 58:32Speaker 1: a big obstacle to having a successful business. How are
- 58:35Speaker 1: your members overcoming that? That's the number one question. She's
- 58:41Speaker 1: gonna tell everybody how to get money, and I can't
- 58:45Speaker 1: even talk to now. She had picked up her cell phone.
- 58:47Speaker 1: She had picked up her cell phone to tell her
- 58:50Speaker 1: to get rid of that sky tell her killing just
- 58:53Speaker 1: start talking to me. Just tell us, start talking to
- 58:55Speaker 1: me on the phone. Just start talking on the phone.
- 58:58Speaker 1: Just giet rid of the sky Melissa, can you hear me?
- 59:04Speaker 1: I can't hear you. Listen. First of all, I want
- 59:06Speaker 1: to apologize. We've got three minutes left here. Listen. I'm
- 59:10Speaker 1: gonna let you know you'll be back on my show
- 59:13Speaker 1: on Monday if you have time, and it will not
- 59:15Speaker 1: be Skype. I have officially banned Skype for money making
- 59:18Speaker 1: conversations because you talk so clear, your articulate. Everything I've
- 59:23Speaker 1: been I've been seeing your TV the whole time, the
- 59:25Speaker 1: whole world, and seeing your squinch your nose the whole world,
- 59:28Speaker 1: and saw you trying to mess with the keyboard. The
- 59:30Speaker 1: world is so everything. You've been on air for like
- 59:33Speaker 1: nine minutes. But ain't nobody here. I'm gonna stay ain't.
- 59:36Speaker 1: I'm gonna just use the word ain't. I'm gonna just
- 59:38Speaker 1: act like I don't have an education. Okay, we're over here.
- 59:43Speaker 1: I'm on my Facebook Live so I'm with my folks
- 59:46Speaker 1: over here at the Live Mary Global Network. I'm so
- 59:49Speaker 1: excited your show you that you're gonna listen, listen, listen. Okay,
- 59:55Speaker 1: let's let's go through. I'm gonna trying to keep you
- 59:56Speaker 1: as long as I can because I want to explain
- 59:58Speaker 1: to everybody what else. The Eliza Mary Global Network for
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: the m Eliza Mary Global Network is a network that
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: we started for women entrepreneurs. So I really wanted women,
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: everyday women to know that you could be an entrepreneur,
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: like you could do this if you had strategy, if
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: you had support, if you had systems, which my friends
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Shan just uh reminded me of that today for faster Ship. Um.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: But you could do this, you could birth that dream
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: that God put inside of you. And I wanted to
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: be able to create this network where we supported each
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: other because one of the things that I saw it
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: wasn't that people did not know what to do to
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: start a business, but it was because they started and
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: they wouldn't continue. One of the things that I learned,
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: um and I learned this from you. I met you
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: last year and you've just been amazing. But you wrote
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: this to me when I started my Facebook wise you said,
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: just be consistent. And it sounds like a small thing,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: but it's a used thing. I literally have it on
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: my death what's your name under it? So it is
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: defy consistent rash right, because people start, but they don't continue.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: They stop before they see the results that they need.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: And so I wanted to create a network where we
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: supported each other. And I'm just to give people an
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: example getting up at the same time every day. Yeah,
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: you know, don't allow your negative spirit take over every
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: somebody else's day. I'm gonna tell you something. I don't
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: like Rashana some days, but I can't let people know that.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: That's what called me a consistent So, you know, because
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: I know some people, Oh here, come what you're called?
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: You know? You know, some people say they're not a
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: morning person. Some people say they they everybody know about
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: their bad day. You know. Some they have a death
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: in the family, they gotta they let you know about that.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: If they're sick, they let you know they're sick. That's
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: inconsistencies because people will not gravitate towards inconsistencies. What they
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: gravitate towards is consistency because assistent people are leaders. Consistent
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: people are leaders. Talk about it. Yes, it's no matter
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: what you're going through. So for the past two years,
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: I have gone through thyroid cancer, so I'm a thyroid
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: cancer survivor UM and I had went through a divorce.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: And the reason why I bring up these things is
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: because these are the things that people allowed to stop them.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: What I decided to do in those moments was to
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: do what I could do. So I would say, God,
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: I can I'm not at full speed or capacity because
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: I don't believe in people killing themselves to bring to
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: birth for something that God is giving you. He doesn't
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: want you to do that. I just believe in you
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: figuring out what you can do and do it consistently
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: and allow him to add to that. Every time that
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: I would do something, I would say, God, this is
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: all I can do this week. Add to what I'm doing,
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: multiply everything my energy so that it brings forth whatever
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: it needs to bring forth. Even with the email like
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: I emailed doing I'm on your shoes. You stop. I't
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: just say something. You're the beauty of your energy, your consistency.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: And I thank you for the compliment because it's always
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: a People always ask me re trying, you know, because
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: I give advice to a lot of people strangers. I
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: give advice to friend, family members. People call me, celebrities
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: call me, business executives called me, and sports people in
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: sports call me just for advice. It's what do you
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: think about this? And I always tell people, if you
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: take my idea and you make a million dollars or
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: a billion dollars, I'm cool with that. I'm not because
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: of the fact that it wasn't my idea. Yeah I
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: had to it was your It was you that was
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: motivated by something that was I told you. And that's
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: the blessing that I get out of it. That's really
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: what it's all about. That's really what money making conversation
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: is all about. It's about being able to galvanize people
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: to understand that they can be special. So when I
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: told you just be consistent, I just walked away because
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: guess what, I just letting you know. That's all it takes.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: In your life. Just bring consistency to your life. Don't
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: let the negative win. I wants tellup, don't let the
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: negative spirit win. And guess what your life will be
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: blast Yes, absolutely absolutely, But you know what I want
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: to say. One thing that you do is you take
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: it the stuff further. And I really work to do
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: with this, do this with the women around me. On
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: my very first Facebook lives, you you showed up on it,
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: you know, and I emailed you and I said, did
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: he did he think that I was a celebrity. You
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: just said to me, what time is it? So I
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: said it's it's it's twelve o'clock on Wednesdays. And I
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: was like, oh my god. You literally commented on the
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: show and was like, you know, keep going and just
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: be consistent, good jobs, and that meant so much. So
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: I just you know, if one, I just applaud you
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: for that and and to That's what we're working to
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: do here. That's what I work to do with entrepreneurs,
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: is to tell them keep going because literally, if you
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: keep going, God would put the right people in your past,
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: the right opportunity in your past, and things will align.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: If when you stopped the you never get to see
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: the fruit of your labor. Okay, okay, Melista, here's the deal.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: I'm out of time. I owe you an interview on Monday.
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: Come tell you something, taste you with, articulate you know
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: you you had your act together. But it's four more questions.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: I haven't even asked you know, I only got to
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: telling me about your organization. I got four more questions,
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: So people go, why you bringing up back because there's
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: four more questions I gotta ask her? And money making
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: conversations about giving people the opportunity to build their brand,
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: promote their brand, and win with their brand. So my
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: staff will be contacting you today. We're gonna schedule you
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: to come back on the show and we're gonna keep winning.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: But it's gonna be a call in. And my dear,
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: the short time that you were on the show right
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: now has been an inspiration. And thank you for being
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: part of money making Conversations. Women empower much serious, We're
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: gonna talk on Monday. Okay, all right, sounds good, Thanks
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: so much. We're back with more more empowerment, and this
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: time it's studio guests. So that means if the studio,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: that means that I gotta worry about skyping. I don't
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: have to worry about phone calls dropping. She's gonna be
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: looking right at me and don't forget by girl Sonya Jackson,
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: persisting that it it's coming up. Money Making Conversations is
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: an inspirational show that takes every day values that you
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: might not know you had and inspire you to build them,
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: to grow with him and tell everybody and shout from
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: the rooftops that I want to be successful too. I'm
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: starting a new series called Hey, I Want to be
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: Rich Too. That's my new series, and it's not about money.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: It's about I'm gonna teach you how if you change
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: certain things in your life and be consistent with them,
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: and you can seek all the rewards that you want
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: in your life, whether it's family or as relationships or
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: as financial that its employment. And that's what the title is, Hey,
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: I want to be Rich. To our next guest, she
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: helping people get rich all the time, all the time.
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: She is to direct She she has said, yes, this
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: is you know she goes to church. She know she
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: go to church. She just has to do a call
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: out and I just said, yes, Lord, Yes, she is
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: the director of the Houston Gallers to the Women's Business Center,
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: Please working for she say something else. Ms. Tracy Seals,
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: thank you, thank you, thank you so much for having me. Okay,
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: this is awesome here. First of all, you've been out
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: in the lobby. You've been laughing the whole time up
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: and that's why I try to do with this show.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: I try to take some counts that God has giving
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: me as an entertainer. Take the information that I've learned
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: from the University of Houston by degrees in mathematics and
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: did my my job skills that I learned it IM
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: and other companies like that, Tendacole, General Motors, all these
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: companies I've worked for my life. And also I've done
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: some things as a professional as a stand up comedian.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: So I see all these things. To say, management negotiating contracts,
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: that's diversity. M H. When you talk about your organization,
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: what are you preaching the most? What we're preaching the
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: most at the Houston Gallison to spend the center is
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: to actually let in women empower themselves to get off
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: the couch, start your own business, turn your concept into reality,
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: turn your vision, your dream into something tangible. Okay, now,
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: because are do a lot of relations have a lot
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: of relationship with Small Business Administration. What is the difference
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: between what you're doing and a small business administration? We
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: are actually partially funded by the Small Business Administration. We
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: are a nonprofit and we serve just not the Houston
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: Galbastan area, but ninety four counties, and we are probably
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: the largest UM women's business center in the nation. Are company.
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: UM spans from Washington, d C. Where we have our
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: national organization, and here in the Texas UM Eastern region
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: we are pretty much the largest. We do not service
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: San Antonio. They actually have a women's spins center there
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: they have okay, but Judo service that they have their
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: own there, so they have their own there. Okay, cool,
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: just fine. Now how big is that? Can I ask
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: how big is your staff or that's involved, because you're
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: talking about thankingful counties. Yes. So, actually we are housed
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: inside the w b e A, which stands for Women's
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: Business Enterprise Alliance, and our staff consists of basically myself
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: as a director, and I have a business advisor, and
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: we have a grand accountant in our president, April Day.
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: She also helps to oversee some of the day to
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: day duties of the Women's Business Center. Now when you say,
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: I heard you said grant. Yes, we are grant funding.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: Okay are you are? Can people get grants from you
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: or you they just deal with the grants that she's
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: getting to keep your agents. Well, no, we we deal
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: with grant to basically keep us functioning. UM even though
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: majority UM I would like I said, it does come
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: from an s b A and also through the efforts
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: of our Advolgy board and our board members to you know,
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: help us with fundraising. However, we do not provide business
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: grants individuals. But if they come and talk to me
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: and I do a consultation, I kind allow them UM two.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: Basically I showed them how they can get a business
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: grant through other agencies, but not through our agency. Okay, okay?
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: With that, why would somebody come to you? And how
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: with you? So why someone would come to me is
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: because if they are trying to start their own business,
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: if they also have a business, but they're they're lacking
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: UM substance in their business or any type of substantiability
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: to keep them funding in their business, I can refer
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: them out to some of our letters that we work with.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: We work with um A lot of UH financial institutions
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: through s b A also financial banks. UM. We work
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: with the Hagel Administration, which is a hago Is administration
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: that basically all the bankers are associated with. So we
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: work closely with them and their network and we provide
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: those financial services and help them to do their business
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: plan so that we can get them to the next
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: level of their business. We also help them with effective
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: marketing concepts so that if they're just not seeing a
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: return or their investment, maybe it's something in your marketing
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: component that we can help you with. And a good
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: thing about it is our services are free, free free.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: Isn't that the key to getting people to do everybody's
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: attention is free. Yes, what are your hours? My hours
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: are money through Friday a third to five UM. Special
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: apartments can be made on a Saturday if they want
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: to come and talk to me about their business. UM.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: We are located centrally Pastor Galeria are Ford Northwest Freeway
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: which is to nineties six ten and they can just
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: go online and book an apartment UM to come and
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: talk to me. Are they could they can do a
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: Skype I know you don't, I know you don't like
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: Skype but they can do a skype consultation with That's
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: a only lot of can you hear me? Can you
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: see me? I see it? But can you hear me? Now?
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: I want to ask you this course it because this
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: show is broadcast now, Yes, because you said this is
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: a national, nationwide organization. Yes, how can people say DC
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: or New York or your or l A or Memphis
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: get involved and get engaged with the opportunities that the
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: Women's Business Center provides. They can go to SPA dot
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: gov and it UM shows all of the partners that
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: they fund um their programs. Or they can also go
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: to American Business Women's Center um dot org and see
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: the national lists and they can find an actually Women's
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: Business center in their area. Are their region? Now, it's free,
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: it's free. Then call you. They can call me, they
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: can do a skype, they can do a skype and
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: when they do all these things because freeze out the way,
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: let's let's not out that not just time. Yes, it's
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: your time that you've given up. Yes for information. So
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: if I called you, what's the first thing you're gonna
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: ask somebody who calls you. If someone cost me, I'm
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: going to ask them what type of business are they
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: trying to pursue Because a lot of people have a
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: lot of idea is and what I tried to was
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: kind of scale everything down to one. I'm gonna stop
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: all this. Don't be calling up with no crazy ideas.
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: Don't we talking about woke up last night. I wanted
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: to talk about it. She is not into business discussion. No,
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: I don't have time. I don't have time. You got
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: to have no business discussion. She got no time for
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: no business idea. And she especially don't have no time
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: for this. What you think? What you think, not at all,
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: Because a lot of our entrepreneurs they go on to
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: be fortunate five companies, and we also take them through
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: the certification process of getting certified as a women's enterprise
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: and a woman's own small business. So if they're calling me,
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: they have to come with the details of their business.
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: Let's make it tangible. Let's follow the smart technique. First.
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: She got the fingers. Now I can't. I can't work
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: for your skype. Let me say so. Don't be skyping
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: me to no more with this igness. Now we skype.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: You get your act together. I'm gonna hang up for you.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: I've never hung up on a skype and it's gonna
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: be the very first game I've an hang up on.
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: Don't you be waking up at me with these stupid
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: ideas wasting my time. I know it's free, but it
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: ain't free for ignorance exactly. And and please did not
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: send your representative sending the person who was actually wanted
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: to start a business, not the representative of one of
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: your many personalities. Thank you very much. Thank you. First
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: of all, thank you, Um. I appreciate you for you

- 1:14:40Speaker 1: to be able. Said, when do I go, I'm trying to.
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: I'm trying this young man Calton earlier and I've been
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: riding his stall. He asked me, is what I'm doing
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: for real? And it caught me off guard because it's
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: just so natural to what I'm doing and what catches
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: me off guarding with people like Melissa was saying, well,
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: you know, you told me something a long time ago,
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: and I just be talking. I'm just I should be
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: talking from my heart and tell you what I do
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: to be successful. If you take some of my values,
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: what you're free and that's all you're doing with the
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: business center. Hey, this is free. We're just trying to
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: give you some values to win and I want to

- 1:15:18Speaker 1: already in business, um, they can country for service, especially
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: if they're trying to get funding, additional fund. They might
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: have start a business with some I don't know, Uncle
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: Henry died and let them inheritance. But now they've used
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: all the inheritance and they're trying to make sure that
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: they are able to scale their business to the next level.
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: They can definitely come and see me. We can kind
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: of go over what is preventing them from making money
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: and get them to where they need to be to
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: get a return or investment, and also source them off
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: to some potential lenders. I will appreciate you. Thank you.
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: She's the director of the Houston Gave to Women's Business
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: Center that's ninety four County nine four County, San Antonio
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: excluding something. This is a nationwide organization that is funded
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: by Small Business Administration. Again, how can they reach you?
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: They can reach me at three six to three to

- 1:16:41Speaker 1: got the mostes over here. Thank you. There you go,
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: Jesus is to my radio show because she was in
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: prison in the lobby. We'll be back with more money
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: make conversations. I want to thank you now, Cord. Then
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: you're gonna see each other absolutely not only the brand
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: of the of your chapter, but also let people know
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: that it's available. Information that ever frustrated me the most
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: is that people are scared to make the lead because
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: they don't know where to go. That's the only reason
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: I'm on their air. Your people listen to me. I'm
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: gonna tell you where to go, just like I told
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: you where to go today. We'll be right back with
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: more money making conversation. We're gonna try to make this happen.
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: She got the ear plugs. I think. I think we're
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: gonna be success because spoke us. So I'm not gonna
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: jump happy yet, but we're gonna try to skype. But
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: if you're sisting that, are you a sisting that right now? Okay? Good,
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: good good? She saissisting that? So we we long distance.
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: Now we're scopping across the across states. But but let
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: me let me introduce it because I'm laughing with already,
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: and you guys don't know who I'm laughing with. She's
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: the founder, president and CEO of the Accord Group, LLC,
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: and the sister. Of course. I've been knowing her many
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: years because she's been inspired people at the Disney Dream
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: with a program that Stephen I created with Disney in Orlando, Florida.
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: But she's inspiration. I had emc light on the show earlier,
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: and your name came about three or four times. About
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: three or four times so please welcome to the show.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: Sonya Jackson Mile here with you. Awesome, awesome. I told
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: I told em C that EMC light that I said,
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: But Son just gonna be on the show later on.
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: So we're gonna talk about the wealth experience. Because I'm
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: gonna just tell you this. Don't even worry by time.
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: You relax because because you have a lot to say.
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: And I say that because I've seen you on stage.
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: I've seen the passion and I've seen the commitment to
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: try to change people's lives. That's my first question. Why
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: are you passionate and trying to change people's lives? That's
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: my first question to you. Well, what's really important for
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: me is to be obedient to God. And so once
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: I recognized and I went on this journey and really
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: truly understanding what I was created to do, and then
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: I decided, Okay, it's time to be obedient and walk
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: in it. I was doing that in corporate America, but
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: he wanted me to do this on a much larger scale,
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: and I was scared. I was afraid because I was
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: making tons of money and having a great time doing
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: what I was doing, and I didn't know this part
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: and so it caused me to have to go on
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: this journey of fear to faith and from being comfortable
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: to courageous. And so once I really got clear about
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: what my role in life was, I didn't have another choice.
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: It was about walking in what I was created to do,
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: walking in my purpose, and your purpose is what to
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: serve others and to help them tap into the essence
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: of who they really are. See, all of the things
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: that we need to bring our dreams to life were
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: planted in us as we were formed in our mother's wombs.
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: What happens is stuff happens, experiences happening, and so we
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: pushed these things aside. We say, oh, we're not good enough.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: We buy into the things that people have said about it.
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: And all I'm doing with all of my programs is
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: tapping into that amazing nous that exists within each and
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: every one of us and helping people flourish and bring
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: it to life. That's all I'm doing and that and
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: that's amazing. So the sister accord because he's the funny
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: for us. You know, I run into Rich. We gotta
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: do something again. What you're doing, which your child text me,
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: I'm on her mainly list I get, I'm a brother,
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: I gets the sister of coord I'm in the information loop.
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: You know, I'm in the information loop. And so with
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: that being said, what exactly is the Sister Accord? So
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: the Sister Accord is my mission to bring one billion
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: girls and women together to understand how they must learn
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: to love themselves and love each other. See, the negative
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: behavior among girls starts at an early age. We begin
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: to not like each other. At the age of four.
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: It's early as being a baby. We are looking at
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: each other and saying, I don't like you. I don't
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: want to play with you. I'm gonna take my jack's
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: and my ball. I know Jackson kind of dates me
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: that I feel funny one, but we're gonna take my
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: jacks on my balls and we're gonna roll over here
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: and play. Because we don't like you. We begin to
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: create this mean girl behavior. And I saw it in
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: the workplace. We don't like to talk about these things
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: in the workplace, but they happen. And so I was
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: asked to speaking on in augural event for President Obama's
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: first inauguration, and I went to sleep and saw the
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: Sister of Court of my dreams and so now I
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: am in schools, I'm incorporations, I'm in company, I'm all
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: over with this message of you know what, we don't
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: have to take each other out. We can learn to
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: collaborate rather than this thinking of I have to compete
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: to take you out in order to win. So it's
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: an abundance mindset that I am helping people in lifestyle
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: that I'm helping people with m versus one of scarcity. Uh.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: I love this. From executive to entrepreneur, that's that's that's
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: a message that you communicate on a daily basis. Because
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: because I used to work five BM, so I know
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: the executive part, and I'm just so I'm not I
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: wasn't there where you wet because I when I just
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: wanted to be a comedian, I wanted to be a
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: stand up comic, and so I just went out there
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: and do a lot of talent. So it meant that
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: you had a plan when you said from executive to entrepreneur.
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: So that was that was plans, emotions, faith tested, consistency
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: put in place prior to the entrepreneurship. Explain people how
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: that happens and how they how you can make it
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: happen for them. Absolutely. So what happened for me was
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: I started my career Ford Murtor company. You're familiar with Ford,
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: and started there after I went to Sam You rattlers,
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: and I'm sure they're rattlers, but um so, once I studied,
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: I studied marketing, but I actually didn't work in marketing.
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: I worked in purchasing. I used to buy things for
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: a living, and I said, look, I'm good at buying,
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: so let me understand how that turns into value for
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: a company. And wow, I loved the world of purchasing.
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: So I used to buy at Ford Motor Company. Then
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: I went to the Gillette Company in Boston, Massachusetts, and
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: then Procter and Gamble bought uh Gillette, and that's how
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: I ended up here in Cincinnati. And so along the way,
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: what was important for me was to become excellent and
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: to be an expert in everything purchasing. I made sure
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: that I knew everything that was going on in the company.
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: I knew how to leverage my skills. I was using
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: my talents, the core the essence of who I was,
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: to really show up well. And once I did that
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: and kept continuing to grow and going to my next
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: level of excellence. What was important for me was to
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: bring other people along. So I never brought into I
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: got to take each other, other folks out in order
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: to win. Always was looking for how do I bring
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: folks together? How do I speak for the voiceless? Uh?
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: You know, as I was going through my corporate career
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: and then now being able to take those same skills right,
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: all I'm doing is flipping them and now being able
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: to help so many people in a program that I
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: call dream walking, where I'm helping people do the same thing,
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: bring their dreams to life and design their destiny. See,
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: a lot of us believe that others, and we've given
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: other people the power to design our destiny. And again,
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: if you give that power away, you know it's not
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: gonna be everything that you needed to be. But when
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: you designed it and you get clear about what it
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: is that you want to do, and you use your
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: skills and talents to do so, amazing things can happen.
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: And that's all that's happened for me. Wow, I'm on
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: the phone right now with the founder, president and CEO
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: of the Accord Group LLC. And it's just still a
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: Chord Group. It's just still a Chord LLC. Now you
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: said something in your previous statement about dream wark, Yeah,
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: tell us about dream walking. So dream walking I started
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: using this process and methodology with dream Walkers, that Disney
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: Dreamers Academy, with Steve Harvory. You and you what, You're
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: such a genious you know again, I say thank you
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: to you because I've just watched you and observed you,
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: and you know, just amazing man um and so I
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: wanted to give people, you know, I like processes. I
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: like to to help people really understand how to break
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: these things down into manageable pieces so that they don't
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: get overwhelmed. That's what dreamwalking does. Dream Walking takes your
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: dreams from your heart, that thing that just burns inside
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: of you, to your head where you can begin to visualize.
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: You know, this is how I see the dream coming
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: to life, and then to your hands so that you
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: figure out what is the plan. Things don't just happen
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: on their own, So what's the plan? What do I
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: specifically need to do to make it happen? And then
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: ultimately to your feet where you are walking in purpose
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: And again, as I said to you, when you're walking
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: in purpose and the thing that you're created to do.
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: All of these things will be added unto you for
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: that obedience and so dream walking. Now it has become
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: one of my signature programs, and companies and organizations are
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: sending their folks to my program uh to really um
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: get excited again about life, to to use it as
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: a way to really engage their employees. First of all,
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: we're supposed to do one break, correct, We're gonna do
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: two breaks. We're gonna do two breaks because I need
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: to hear about the Sister Cord Day August one, and
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: I want to I want to talk about see what
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: I want to talk about. I like to always slow
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: things down on money being conversation because everything sounds good,
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: but we know there was a moment where the plan
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: wasn't working. And when you come back, I want to
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: tell I want you to tell people when the plan
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: wasn't working, what was your spirits there? Who you needed
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: to connect to to get you to the next level.
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: I'm on the phone right now with skyping with the
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: president CEO of their core Group and sister of Cord
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: ms Sonia Jackson Miles out of Cincinnati. She went from
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: executive to entrepreneur. We'll be right back I'm holding her
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: over because she got more to say and I got
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: more to talk about. And I'm so happy you owned
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: that radio mighty made conversation. We just got bigger girl,
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: and by the way, our Heart radio podcast platform starting day.
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: We're doing it, y'all. I'm back, y'all might to make
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: conversations back. I held her over because you know why,
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: she said, Richelle, we need to do something together. Richelle,
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: you need to talk to me. And I finally got
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: on the phone. I said, you know something, I'm gonna
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: talk to her because she already got something today. And
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: I love you so I love talking to you because
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: you know, I can tell you to a lot of
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: public speaking, because you know, you're like I had Eric
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: Thomas on the line and the hip hop you know,
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: preacher and uh you know, and you know he started
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: a little slow. Then all of a sudden, at train
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: started getting up that here and them a little them
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: look cold, words, them look cold. Inspirational words start flying
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: at your mouth, and you know, and that's what makes
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: you special because I always tell people that I know
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: every day I do the strong and stronger as a motivator,
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: I as stronger as a person trying to sell my
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: point of view the people who don't have a point
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: of view, and I feel that's really important. And before
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: the reason I brought you back because we got this,
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: this great story you know about you know, we're here,
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: four were here procting gamble. We hear how he was
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: able to understand the system, And I think this important.
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: You said, you know you learned things outside of your
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: work grade and that made you a well rounded person
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: that you're using the same skill sets in your independent life.
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: So you went from the executive to entrepreneur. Now we
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: all know, and I can tell you the times of
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: the stand up comic when I was on the side
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: of the road and I didn't see a future. I
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: actually had tears in my eyes because sometimes I could
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: not go to sleep because I had to drive to
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: the next gig. So I drove out the fear in
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: those stories. I have to tell people because they always
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: see the e that was here. You know what you know?
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: You know, you know social media, you know you're making
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: cakes every week. You know we look happy. Well, I'm happy,
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: but I also understand frustration, also understand setback. Tell me
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: about the setbacks at least one that stood out or not.
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: Here's the deal. Setbacks happened every day. Yeah, tell us
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: the inspirational side of your setbacks. Well, one of the
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: things that was important for me and this journey is
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: that I had to shake how I operated in corporate
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: America because that is not how you operate as an
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: Aruprene explain that. So let me let me. Let me
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: explain what I'm slaying. Let me explain it as an
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: executive in corporate Maratha. I was always looking to avoid
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: risk because that's what we're taught. You avoid risk at
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: all costs. As an entrepreneur, I need to embrace risk.
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: I need to understand what it looks like, you know,
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: to go from zero to one hundred. And so I
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: was playing it safe. You know, I'm a I'm a
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: play it safe kind of girl. That's how I was right.
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: And so I had to learn how to really truly
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: test and believe in myself. Has some things, push some boundaries,
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: ask God to come on in and do his peace,
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: and that caused me to have unbelief. Okay, So I'm
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: gonna be honest with you. Um, you know, the unbelief
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: is okay, God, I really think that this is what
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: you said that I should be doing. But these people
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: are called me for a job over here, and I
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: think I'm gonna take it right now because because I'm scared,
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: I want to make sure that I can keep my
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: standard of living. And so that fear and those things
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: would come up and I'd say, oh, it's time for
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: me to shut this down because I got a no
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: because you didn't call me back or something. You know,
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: I'm just yelling. Please include that in there, because you
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: know the thing, it's by relationships, you know, because you
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: because you always hustle it and you you see it's
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: a it's a hustle. But you can't let the spirit
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: because I'm gonna tell you something. She saw me probably
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: like three consecutive Disney Dreamer judging sessions and to my
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: seat sign you go, yeah, you we're gonna get together.
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: Did you see me at Disney dream Like, yeah, we're
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: gonna get together. So so, but that never changed her
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: attitude in order to change my attitude because I know
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: my life's crazy, and I think that you have to
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: respect that. I were on this phone today via skype
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: and telephone because the fact there's a process to any
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: relationship that's right, and that is important because of the
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: fact that, And that's why I couldn't let her just
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: say because she she kind of joked it off. But
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: you can't because that happens a lot because people ask
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: somebody to do something for him. When they don't do it,
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: they shut out, They shut down a relationship, they shut
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: it out. Oh he all talked. Hey, what I don't have.
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: What I don't have to do to you is tell
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: you my personal life. Okay, just just accept the fact
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: that I still believe and I've always believed in you.
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: You know that for a fact. I've always believed in
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: the sister of Courts. I always believe the fact that.
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: And I'm gonna tell you something. She has a skill set.
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: I'm gonna just tell you why she's a unique skill
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: set because she can talk to teenagers and she can
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: talk to adults. I can't tell you how hard it
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: is to do that. How can you do that? So
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: how can you talk to a mindset which is that
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: the teenage levels still forming their thoughts, still forming in
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: their careers, start forming their ideas of what they're gonna
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: do when they get up in the morning. Two adults,
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: how do you do that? Micky Taylor tells me that
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: I speak to souls, and so you know, she's like, Sonya,
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: you need to understand what your gift is. You speak
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: to speak to people's souls, you speak very deeply to
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: who they are, and so you know, so it doesn't
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: matter with the age, because we're all going through these
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: different phases and we all have these things that our
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: soul is crying out for, and a lot of it
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: has to do with who we really are, and we're
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: all even at forty and fifty, we're still trying to
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: figure it out. And so I'm able to have that
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: conversation a very in a very authentic way with our
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: young people as well as with our adults. And it's
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: a very humbly blessing to have and thank you for that. Now,
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: August thirty one is a very special day for you,
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: and please explain the time you got minute? You know
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: I have seconds? Tell us about August thirty one. Well,
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: when I have my very first Sister of Cord leadership
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: Enrichmond tea party here in Cincinnati on August thirty one,
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: two thousand thirteen, um my sister Yvette Simpson, who is
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: now running for mayor here in Cincinnati, but she is
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: the president of the city Council. Came and declared Sister
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: of cor Day on August thirty one. So we actually
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: have a holiday now to celebrate sisterhood and loved and
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: you talked about you know, brothers. I have so many
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: men who are a part of the Sister of Cord
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: movement because they say, Hey, I want better relationships with
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: the women in my life, and your book and your
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: movement is helping me do that. So this is about
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: the three areas of focus that we have, educating girls
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: and women, enlightening girls and women of the power of sisterhood,
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: and eradicating bullying and violence against girls and women. And
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: so we've got eradicated among girls and women and outside
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: of girls and women by bringing the men into the
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: conversation as well. And so we're gonna be celebrating sisterhood
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: all of people all around the world celebrate Sister Record Day.
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: And we have a new dance, a new Sister Ford slide.
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: You got to get with keeping us something, you got
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: to get with cuping us up. So we're getting ready
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: to give Cupid the wile achy breaking, hokey pokey whatever.
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: You know, We're gonna shut all of it down and
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: we're going to have a billion people around the world
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: learning the Sister of cord Slide and having a good time.
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: It's all about health and fitness and making sure that
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: we are whole d sixty degrees. So that's what the
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: sister recorded about. You know how to talk and breathe
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: at the same time. You know, you do talk for
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: three minutes that and then you stop to his ability's ability,
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: just keep I gotta stop sometimes take a big old breath.
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: Tell people walk on steps. People you're walking up steps
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: and out time you getting old. I'm gonna say two
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: things to you because you brought up some things. First
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: of all, it was funny because I I do my
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: research whenever I have somebody come on the show. And
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: I was going through Facebook and I got to your
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: Facebook page and um and she had already posted her
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: announcing everybody in the world I'm coming on money Making Conversation.
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: And I'm just tell you how popular she is. You know,
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: people in Houston, Texas was thinking you was gonna come
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: to Houston, and they were getting excited about it. They
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: were saying, are you coming to us? Are you coming here?
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: You're coming? We want somebody calling down and used the
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: Texas are you're coming And you had to tell her, Oh,
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: this is just a radio interview. I'm gonna put one day.
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna bring the tea party down there one day.
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: But then then lets you The reason I say that
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: is that then lets you know that your influence is worldwide.
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: And that's that's important. The reason I did television shows,
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: that do television shows is the fact that you affect
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: millions of people. When you can convince somebody to come
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: back the same time on that day, that's something unique.
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: And that's why I've always been positive programming, and you're
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: about positive programming. And you said something about bullying. And
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: I just wrapped a movie. I'm gonna send you the
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: sizzle reel. Okay, it's called Miss By Miss Guy to Behavior.
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: It's a movie about bullying, and I my, I have
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: a goal to stop bullying. People don't know this is
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: about bullying. Forty kids commit suicide every year bullying. Over
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: a hundred and six or three thousand students skip school
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: because of bullying and so and I'm not trying to
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: turn this too into a bullying moment. I'm just letting
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: you know, is that time and everything. You just brought
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: up something that I'm trying to engage the world. I
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: just wrapped a movie with Sharon Thomlinson, that's my producer owner.
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: And you know, we've submitted the movie out there before
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: you know. She said, which we're taking the theater. I said, hey,
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: slow down. I wanted I want to save some people,
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: try to make some money on this. So you're gonna
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: get the trailer today and I want your feedback on it.
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: And then because because I want to do some screenies
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: two young people. These teams is a teenage movement. I
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: want their parents to come. And it's called misguided behavior
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: and it's incredible, and uh, it's about my movement to
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: stop bullying. I was bullies as bullying as a kid,
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: and the average person in this world has been bullied.
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: Gonna stop organizations like you, myself, churches, businesses who come
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: together and admit that we have a problem and take
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: together again. August thirty first, I had you for two breaks.
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: I didn't know we could talk, that didn't know we
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: had things to say that just for your one break, well,
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: you know, I'm just so happy. H So he called
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: me back and everything here I wouldn't have talked to you.
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: And we're about to stop bullying. Sister called August she
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: about to started laying dance. Billion people gonna lie dance.
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: And when you do that, please please send me the
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: to me a banner so I can post it on
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: my social media. Let my let my six thousand people
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: know about your lying. Damn Sister Card Girl, you stay
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: strong and if you don't mind, if you don't mind,
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: Once the Quarter, this is your home. Let's let's change world.
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: Let's change people together. Like I said, k Y and
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: d I feel fortunately gave me a platform to do
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: my thing here, to talk to where I want to talk.
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: And then I heart ratings give me even bigger platform
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: on their podcast on the Business Finance. We're gonna keep
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: changing the world. Guess what this is what thank thank you,
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: gonna keep talking Once the Quarter. Congratulations of August thirty.
