- 2:04Speaker 1: morning everybody. You are listening to the voice, Come on now,
- 2:08Speaker 1: dig me want and only Steve Harvey, God, what radio
- 2:14Speaker 1: show man? What you're doing with it? Trying to do
- 2:18Speaker 1: the very very best I can with it? I really am.
- 2:20Speaker 1: You know, I get tired sometimes on my journey. I'm
- 2:24Speaker 1: not gonna kid you. UM. Trying to make something about
- 2:29Speaker 1: yourself is a task. UM. If you want to attempt
- 2:35Speaker 1: to do something and and and understand going in that
- 2:41Speaker 1: that the if the thing you're trying to do is
- 2:43Speaker 1: to improve yourself, to better your position, to better your relationship,
- 2:49Speaker 1: your family, anything, you're trying to be a better you.
- 2:54Speaker 1: You're trying to make more money, you're trying to get
- 2:57Speaker 1: it together, you're trying to change if any of those
- 3:02Speaker 1: things are in your hopes and dreams. Know this right here,
- 3:08Speaker 1: you are about to face some challenges. But you might
- 3:13Speaker 1: as well go ahead anyway and face those challenges, because
- 3:17Speaker 1: if you don't, you have a whole other set of
- 3:20Speaker 1: challenges to face. You know, it's a it's a it's
- 3:23Speaker 1: an amazing thing. Man. How people sit around and they
- 3:27Speaker 1: watch other people strike out to become successful. They sit
- 3:31Speaker 1: in the stands watching these people play out these games,
- 3:35Speaker 1: and they and they, and they criticize, They boo, they
- 3:38Speaker 1: laugh at their efforts and everything, and they talk about
- 3:42Speaker 1: the fairies. He missed that game when it shot. Boy,
- 3:45Speaker 1: he sucked. Man, he did this. He ain't worth that.
- 3:48Speaker 1: I hear people who sit in stands who criticize people
- 3:55Speaker 1: who are out there on the playing field. Now, when
- 3:59Speaker 1: you're on the playing field, you have a set of
- 4:02Speaker 1: challenges in front of you. You're going to be open
- 4:05Speaker 1: to criticism. You're going to be open to ridicule. You're
- 4:10Speaker 1: going to be talked about when you don't know the
- 4:12Speaker 1: people who are talking about you. Now here's the upside
- 4:20Speaker 1: to being the player on the field that's facing all
- 4:24Speaker 1: the challenges, to criticisms, the laughing, the joke, to being
- 4:27Speaker 1: talked about he has something going for him. This person, boy, woman, child, girl,
- 4:37Speaker 1: man has an opportunity to win. They have an opportunity
- 4:44Speaker 1: to win. And then the game of life. Just because
- 4:49Speaker 1: you lose one of the games, or you lose one
- 4:52Speaker 1: of the matches, it don't mean you've lost. You don't
- 4:56Speaker 1: get put out. You keep playing. And when you're playing,
- 5:02Speaker 1: here's the upside. You have the opportunity to win. And
- 5:05Speaker 1: but guess what, You're gonna win some of the matches.
- 5:08Speaker 1: You're gonna win some of the points. You're gonna make
- 5:10Speaker 1: some of the dunks. You're gonna hit some of them
- 5:12Speaker 1: over the wall. You're gonna hit some of them out
- 5:14Speaker 1: the park. You're gonna score some goals. You will if
- 5:18Speaker 1: you're playing the game. Here's the problem with the people
- 5:23Speaker 1: who don't face criticism, who nobody boos or cheers for,
- 5:29Speaker 1: who sits in the stands and knows neither victory nor defeat.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Those people, without realizing it, are facing a set of
- 5:41Speaker 1: challenges also. And the challenges they're facing is how I'm
- 5:46Speaker 1: gonna live with myself, What I'm gonna do? Now? What
- 5:53Speaker 1: direction am I going in? Where am I gonna live?
- 6:00Speaker 1: Wonder what job will hire me? Wonder if I can
- 6:06Speaker 1: get paid for criticizing all woe is me. I can't
- 6:13Speaker 1: find the purpose in my life. And man, I'm just
- 6:17Speaker 1: waking up in a state of confusion. I don't know
- 6:19Speaker 1: what to do. Now, let me ask you something which
- 6:24Speaker 1: one of them said, of challenges you rather be faced with.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Because if I'm on the flow playing, if I'm on
- 6:30Speaker 1: the field playing, if I'm out on the court playing,
- 6:34Speaker 1: then guess what I got a chance at winning? But
- 6:37Speaker 1: guess what I'm doing every day while I'm playing. I'm strategizing.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I'm waking up with a purpose. I'm waking up trying
- 6:44Speaker 1: to come up with another angle. I'm in pursuit of
- 6:49Speaker 1: a goal every single day. Versus the people in the
- 6:55Speaker 1: stands who know neither victory nor defeat. Get in the game.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Face the challenges. Better yourself, better your wife, better your children,
- 7:10Speaker 1: better your condition, better your employment status, better your job,
- 7:13Speaker 1: better your career. Take a shot. Come on, man, what
- 7:17Speaker 1: you're waiting on? Because the alternative is to watch other
- 7:21Speaker 1: people play the game? You know what I just do?
- 7:25Speaker 1: Sometimes Sometimes I just I get Forbes magazine or Money magazine,
- 7:30Speaker 1: or sometimes I still grab a copy of rob Report.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I just flipped through it just to see get I
- 7:37Speaker 1: used to get these this book called Unique Homes. Unique
- 7:40Speaker 1: Homes is a magazine that just has a lot of
- 7:43Speaker 1: extravagant houses that's on sale across the country, across the world.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I used to just flip through. Man, let me just see, man,
- 7:51Speaker 1: what the people that's playing the game out there doing.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Stop watching other people become successful when you could very
- 7:58Speaker 1: easily be you if you make the decision. But when
- 8:02Speaker 1: you make the decision to become successful, get ready for
- 8:05Speaker 1: a series of challenges. I think it's more difficult not
- 8:09Speaker 1: to accept the challenge. I think it's for me. This
- 8:14Speaker 1: is just for me. It may not be the case
- 8:15Speaker 1: for you. For me, I think it's far more difficult
- 8:18Speaker 1: to wake up and just see how life gonna go today,
- 8:20Speaker 1: because man, it could just deal you any kind of
- 8:23Speaker 1: hand today. You understand, I don't like, you know, spades.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Let's talk a card game, folks, the game of spades. Really, man,
- 8:34Speaker 1: it ain't a whole lot you can do if you
- 8:35Speaker 1: don't get no spades. Really, it's a little couple of
- 8:39Speaker 1: little strategies you're gonna do. But you can have all
- 8:42Speaker 1: this age King Queen Diamond, all you want. But man,
- 8:44Speaker 1: you ain't got no spades. They're cutting them. You're in trouble.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Be it whist different game. You can create what's in
- 8:52Speaker 1: your hand. You got dealt a hand too, But you
- 8:55Speaker 1: can create a hand. You can call a trump. You
- 8:58Speaker 1: can make diamonds your spades. You can make it hard
- 9:01Speaker 1: to clubs your spades. That's what I'm saying. That's what
- 9:04Speaker 1: it is. You can do something with it. It's a
- 9:06Speaker 1: different game, man. You can strategize. I would rather have
- 9:09Speaker 1: a say so in my life than to wake up
- 9:11Speaker 1: every day and just see how it's going. I think
- 9:14Speaker 1: it's more difficult to not accept the challenge to be
- 9:17Speaker 1: something than it is to accept the challenge to be something.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I think it's more difficult to sit around and not
- 9:23Speaker 1: be nothing. I think it's harder to watch everybody's life
- 9:26Speaker 1: going somewhere but mine. I think it would be very
- 9:29Speaker 1: difficult for me to sit here and hear them talking
- 9:32Speaker 1: about other people and never mention my name. I would
- 9:35Speaker 1: be difficult for me to see everybody rise and getting
- 9:37Speaker 1: promotions accept me. That would be difficult for me. It
- 9:41Speaker 1: may not be for you, but for me it would
- 9:43Speaker 1: be quite challenging. I would rather accept the challenge of
- 9:46Speaker 1: making something out of my life than to sit there
- 9:49Speaker 1: and criticize those and then watch and see how my
- 9:53Speaker 1: life just may go. Okay, just a thought today you're
- 9:57Speaker 1: listening one two, one two three. Somebody said that was
- 10:08Speaker 1: dancing in the streets. Somebody told me, what what boy? Wow?
- 10:18Speaker 1: Did you get that from? Somewhere in the back of
- 10:22Speaker 1: my mind? Somebody said that was dancing in the streets?
- 10:32Speaker 1: Boys and then As the brothers. Don't you know, Jay,
- 10:36Speaker 1: I don't even don't know where that comes from. Joas
- 10:43Speaker 1: stay with you, stay with They make them all constant
- 10:51Speaker 1: when they I heard that coming back, Junior boy, I
- 10:54Speaker 1: know I'm in the band. We got we got two
- 10:59Speaker 1: days and everything back on. I know, I know. I
- 11:01Speaker 1: saw the tourists called the step over tour. Well, you
- 11:06Speaker 1: can't want to talk about it, you know, that's what
- 11:09Speaker 1: one of them fall, just step over the step over
- 11:13Speaker 1: to ladies and JENNI let's get to electric sliding up
- 11:19Speaker 1: in here. Steve my girl calling good morning, Steve. What's
- 11:24Speaker 1: happing the crew? Happy Friday? Jody sees president on their
- 11:30Speaker 1: fan club. Junior Kill spates who the dog demented and
- 11:39Speaker 1: bit to j Anthony Brown. Yeah, I love that King
- 11:48Speaker 1: Planks nephew Tommy Top Top is pride to Steve. That's
- 11:53Speaker 1: what it is. Friday. Yeah, that's right, another man on Friday. Right,
- 12:00Speaker 1: nobody's having a fright. You ever had a meeting that's
- 12:04Speaker 1: on your schedule and you know it's coming and you
- 12:07Speaker 1: don't want to go? Yeah, every every day, every meeting
- 12:13Speaker 1: show yeah, Court, A lot of them are at Court.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I definitely didn't want to go down. I'm meeting good news.
- 12:23Speaker 1: There's some money meetings out there. That's some good meeting,
- 12:25Speaker 1: money making meetings, money making, good meetings out there. But
- 12:30Speaker 1: this one the day. You know you got a meeting today? Yes, yes, yes,
- 12:37Speaker 1: in person, in person. And you know what's crazy, h
- 12:45Speaker 1: You know what's crazy about this meeting? What I know
- 12:49Speaker 1: that they're going to lie in the meeting. I don't
- 12:55Speaker 1: really know how long you take to the lot I
- 13:00Speaker 1: was gonna take to get to the life right away. Hey,
- 13:03Speaker 1: good to see you. That's a lie. And then after that,
- 13:08Speaker 1: you know, because it because if my lawyer gonna say, okay,
- 13:11Speaker 1: so let's just get to the meat of it. As
- 13:14Speaker 1: soon as they open mouth, it's just gonna be alive.
- 13:16Speaker 1: It's no I'm not in legal trouble or nothing like.
- 13:18Speaker 1: This is just man, y'all, who said the lawyer? When
- 13:23Speaker 1: the lawyer speak, Oh yeah, I've learned to quit going
- 13:27Speaker 1: to beat me by myself calling him later, it's never good.
- 13:35Speaker 1: All right? Coming up at thirty two minutes after the hour,
- 13:38Speaker 1: asked the CLO Chief Love Officer Steve Harvey in the building.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening to Steven show all right?
- 13:47Speaker 1: Time for ask the CLO. Steve Harvey is the Chief
- 13:52Speaker 1: Love Officer. This one is from Ronda in New Orleans.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Ronda says, I have a new boyfriend that lives in Florida,
- 13:59Speaker 1: and I put forth the effort to see him on
- 14:01Speaker 1: the weekends. And when I get there, he doesn't have
- 14:04Speaker 1: anything planned. I have to come up with date options
- 14:08Speaker 1: or plan a dinner at home because he is not
- 14:11Speaker 1: a take charge kind of guy. I'd love to sit
- 14:14Speaker 1: back and let him take the lead, but we'd be
- 14:16Speaker 1: sitting home every weekend if I did that. I told
- 14:19Speaker 1: him that he doesn't make me feel special, and he
- 14:22Speaker 1: called me spoiled. Am I wrong for feeling this way?
- 14:25Speaker 1: Should I rolls be reversed? Well, First of all, y'all
- 14:30Speaker 1: have a long disim relationship. You make the effort to
- 14:33Speaker 1: go down to Florida? What do you got to do?
- 14:39Speaker 1: You've taken the lead, and so now he in the
- 14:43Speaker 1: back seat and he letting you drive. And then when
- 14:47Speaker 1: you complain about it, you spoil. Why are you seeing him?
- 14:51Speaker 1: I don't understand. What is the benefit in it for you? Nothing?
- 14:56Speaker 1: He don't even come see you know him? Right? You
- 15:00Speaker 1: gonna see him? And and you know why. He ain't
- 15:02Speaker 1: got nothing planning because he don't care if you come
- 15:04Speaker 1: an you really do do you? Can? I tell you
- 15:09Speaker 1: something about men. If a man ain't treating you special,
- 15:14Speaker 1: it's because he don't thank you special. Hello. If a
- 15:19Speaker 1: man ain't treating you special, it's because he don't thank
- 15:22Speaker 1: you special. One more time for the women in the
- 15:25Speaker 1: back time far back are they they've far back? Say
- 15:30Speaker 1: a man ain't treating you special, it's because you ain't special. Hello,
- 15:41Speaker 1: that's period. Men treat you the way they think you are.
- 15:46Speaker 1: If you're getting special treatment from a man, it's because
- 15:48Speaker 1: he thank you special. Yeah, so you've done? Now you
- 15:52Speaker 1: want special? What? So? I ain't got to fix nothing
- 15:55Speaker 1: for you? Ain't got a hand none ready, I ain't
- 15:57Speaker 1: got hand no plan. I don't care where we go
- 15:59Speaker 1: because I don't care if you come. Yeah, hell see
- 16:06Speaker 1: your next weekend bringing eat. Yeah, I mean on your
- 16:12Speaker 1: way down here to Florida, stopping else. When you get
- 16:15Speaker 1: up the exit, grab when you get off the exit,
- 16:18Speaker 1: grab grab me some of the plane. All that. Let's
- 16:28Speaker 1: go to the movies. Benefix got a new movie out.
- 16:31Speaker 1: All of that. In fact, go past the exit and
- 16:35Speaker 1: go to the other chicken place I really like, and
- 16:38Speaker 1: then yeah, yeah, all right. Moving on Marla and Hammond,
- 16:44Speaker 1: Louisiana says, I've been in a relationship with a guy
- 16:46Speaker 1: I met online. He's forty and I'm thirty eight. Neither
- 16:49Speaker 1: of us have been married, but he's helping his ex
- 16:52Speaker 1: girlfriend co parent her two children. They were never married,
- 16:56Speaker 1: and he is not the biological father of the kids.
- 16:59Speaker 1: He said. He dave this woman for six years and
- 17:01Speaker 1: he's the only father they've known. I think the children
- 17:04Speaker 1: need to be close to their mom's new boyfriend, not mine.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Is this crazy to you or am I being selfish? Well?
- 17:14Speaker 1: I mean he's telling you that he's co parenting and
- 17:19Speaker 1: they've been in a relationship for six years. I believe
- 17:21Speaker 1: you said for six years. The only dad they've known.
- 17:26Speaker 1: He's the father figure in their life. That's the relationship
- 17:29Speaker 1: he had before he met you. Now you don't want
- 17:32Speaker 1: him to have relationship with the kids no more because
- 17:33Speaker 1: you own the scene. What forty you old man? You know,
- 17:36Speaker 1: don't come with no baggage, no history, no nothing. So
- 17:42Speaker 1: when you met him online, he's never been married and
- 17:45Speaker 1: has no kids. What do you think he'd been doing
- 17:50Speaker 1: for them forty years? So do I think you're being
- 17:57Speaker 1: a bit unreasonable? I think exactly you're being unreasonable. First
- 18:01Speaker 1: of all, he didn't have to tell you this. You're
- 18:04Speaker 1: in a long distance relationship. Most of those wouldn't have
- 18:06Speaker 1: said that. Most fellas I'm telling you. So he's told
- 18:10Speaker 1: you what you're dealing with, so you will know he'd
- 18:14Speaker 1: only dare da've ever know hid some people, some of
- 18:16Speaker 1: me and love these kids? Yeah, and just because me
- 18:19Speaker 1: and your MoMA ain't working, man, I still love these kids. Yeah.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Thing to take care of someone else's kids, that's kind
- 18:26Speaker 1: of nice. Now are you being selfish? That's you know,
- 18:28Speaker 1: you're thirty eight, you want your own kids. I don't
- 18:30Speaker 1: know what's happening lead that man alone with that thing
- 18:33Speaker 1: you're doing over there. You know you're doing way too much,
- 18:36Speaker 1: all right, Big Pat and Alabama says, I'm a fifty
- 18:41Speaker 1: four year old woman and my husband and I went
- 18:43Speaker 1: to a swingers party. We just watched, We didn't participate.
- 18:47Speaker 1: A few days later, my husband says he wants us
- 18:49Speaker 1: to swing, but in the privacy of our own home.
- 18:53Speaker 1: He wants to invite this woman he met over to
- 18:56Speaker 1: our home and have sex with her, just him and
- 18:59Speaker 1: her behind closed doors without me. I told him that's
- 19:03Speaker 1: called an affair, not swinging. And there is a difference
- 19:07Speaker 1: in the two dot dot dot right broke this. Yeah,
- 19:15Speaker 1: let me ask you. Didn't you say in the letter
- 19:18Speaker 1: that she was fifty four? Yes? And you typing me
- 19:22Speaker 1: asked me that y'all went to a swingers party together.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Y'all just watched, right, You didn't think why watching? Was
- 19:37Speaker 1: nothing gonna cross his mind? Whose idea was to go
- 19:42Speaker 1: to the swingers party? Ere we go? Somebody had to
- 19:47Speaker 1: introduce the idea? What you are him? Now? Whoever it was? Now,
- 19:53Speaker 1: your husband went off on his own and met this
- 19:55Speaker 1: other woman and won't come over to the house and
- 19:59Speaker 1: have set her behind closed doors alone. Now, Big Pat,
- 20:06Speaker 1: that's her name, Big Pat the big Pat. I don't
- 20:09Speaker 1: know why they call you big Pat. I have an idea,
- 20:12Speaker 1: but I just I can't assume that. Let's I'm just
- 20:15Speaker 1: gonna go with you, big Pat. Big Pat, you're going
- 20:21Speaker 1: along with too much. Yeah. Now, if he was a
- 20:26Speaker 1: little cute ass pat, would you tolerate this? But since
- 20:31Speaker 1: you're calling yourself big Pat, he thought he'd run this
- 20:34Speaker 1: by you. I'll tell you what. Bring over here and
- 20:38Speaker 1: shut the door. See what happened. I'm gonna sure you
- 20:43Speaker 1: why they called me big Pat. That do don't stand
- 20:47Speaker 1: the damn chance. Okay, all right, thank you? Swinging coming up, nephew,
- 20:58Speaker 1: would running that frank back right after this. You're listening

- 23:17Speaker 1: road and we pulled him over. He's not creating any problems.
- 23:21Speaker 1: The young lady wasn't creating any problems. So what we're trying,
- 23:24Speaker 1: what we're trying to do is get somebody to come

- 27:31Speaker 1: if I had time? Yeah? Wow, what's coming on? Stupid?
- 27:40Speaker 1: It was pretty stupid. I'm trying to get a stupid
- 27:42Speaker 1: rebuttal from y'all. How stupid work? It's pretty stupid. I
- 27:47Speaker 1: don't even know why you ask. Yeah, I mean you're
- 27:50Speaker 1: gonna say to ask your question. Has it this show
- 27:54Speaker 1: or the people on this show ever complimented you on anything? Intelligence? Yes? All?
- 28:03Speaker 1: Has it all been stupid? Other than intelligently stupid? It's
- 28:09Speaker 1: intelligently stupid. And that means for live, yes, stupid and
- 28:14Speaker 1: intelligence by having half um one what I'm seeing, that's
- 28:19Speaker 1: my boy, that's my boy right there. You see that
- 28:20Speaker 1: talking about Now, that's how you back somebody else. If
- 28:22Speaker 1: you meet somebody and half the time they're stupid and
- 28:26Speaker 1: the other half they're intelligent, which one you think wins stupid? Nah,
- 28:36Speaker 1: because that's stupid shows up you're not intelligently thinking right now.
- 28:43Speaker 1: And that's that's got right there right there. I mean,
- 28:46Speaker 1: I am intelligently stupid, and and if it takes a
- 28:51Speaker 1: lot of intelligence to be that stupid, I mean, that's
- 28:54Speaker 1: what stupid. That's how you don't remind you that you're
- 29:00Speaker 1: the stupid. Ain't you to say, well, Joe, see that's
- 29:03Speaker 1: hardy okay, but he intelligently found out it was not
- 29:08Speaker 1: a possim. So there. I love team Tommy. Come on,
- 29:12Speaker 1: Team Tommy. Oh you mean he looked back there? All right,
- 29:17Speaker 1: we gotta get out of here. Coming up at the
- 29:20Speaker 1: top of the hour. We'll have some trending news headlines
- 29:23Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening to public enemies. Chuck D
- 29:31Speaker 1: is clarifying his comments about R. Kelly after they sparked
- 29:34Speaker 1: controversy online. After it was announced that Kelly was found
- 29:38Speaker 1: guilty on all counts, Chuck D took to Twitter to
- 29:41Speaker 1: share his thoughts. Abused in youth and addict as an adult,
- 29:46Speaker 1: Ike Turner served eighteen months in prison. Rick James did
- 29:50Speaker 1: similar time. Ike came out a changed, positive human being.
- 29:54Speaker 1: How long should R. Kelly spend in prison? And does
- 29:57Speaker 1: a USA system give a man a chance to change
- 30:00Speaker 1: his world around well. Reactions to his take on the
- 30:03Speaker 1: verdict were met with backlash, and he took to Twitter
- 30:06Speaker 1: once again to set the record straight. Just to be clear,
- 30:10Speaker 1: I'm not the R. Kelly fan here, adding that his
- 30:13Speaker 1: actions were criminal. Now the tweet continues, My apologies if
- 30:18Speaker 1: the wings of perception loomed beyond the words on this
- 30:22Speaker 1: slave app Okay, he got deep there at the end.
- 30:26Speaker 1: I don't mean, but you get the gist check D.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Justice for the victims period. I can't. I can't go
- 30:36Speaker 1: with none of that. I mean, look, oh yeah, defend
- 30:39Speaker 1: our black women as he I Turner did. How much
- 30:43Speaker 1: time he said? He said, eighteen months in prison and
- 30:47Speaker 1: rightfully so for abusing Tina Turner his wife. Yeah, he's
- 30:52Speaker 1: his wife. And that's when you physically abuse a person,
- 30:58Speaker 1: you got to do some time. We talk about kids here, yes,
- 31:04Speaker 1: we talked about kids and sexual start, sexual trafficking, racketeering.
- 31:12Speaker 1: But but listen to me. I understand, I understand what
- 31:17Speaker 1: Chuck D was trying to say, but that ain't high
- 31:21Speaker 1: I got took. Yeah, but it came off like he
- 31:23Speaker 1: was defending our colley. That's everybody got out of there.
- 31:27Speaker 1: I'm not fit to be confused about that. That's when yeah, everything,
- 31:34Speaker 1: But you know, look he what Chuck D said when
- 31:38Speaker 1: he said, when does a man get a light to
- 31:41Speaker 1: the chance to write his life? He had the chance
- 31:44Speaker 1: when he was first acquitted, and he walked out that
- 31:48Speaker 1: court room with that big giant cigar. God had given
- 31:54Speaker 1: you a chance right there, dog to go to go
- 31:58Speaker 1: either get yourself from help straighten your life up. Man
- 32:03Speaker 1: or star dating grown women of their own will. But
- 32:07Speaker 1: you could and you went worst off. You wouldn't got
- 32:09Speaker 1: some more kids. No, man, hold up, that's it. That's
- 32:14Speaker 1: the problem I got. And it's a tragedy talking as
- 32:21Speaker 1: straight b as and you know, man, look it's a
- 32:24Speaker 1: tragedy on all levels. These victims, first of all, and
- 32:30Speaker 1: you have no idea to damage that's done to them,
- 32:33Speaker 1: and there's no way to measure it. It's also a
- 32:37Speaker 1: tragedy that a man didn't take the want in shot
- 32:42Speaker 1: and do something with the want in shot. Brother, You
- 32:49Speaker 1: ask most people, they will tell you. You know, man,
- 32:54Speaker 1: I did this before, and I should have stopped. I
- 32:57Speaker 1: did that, I shouldn't have did that other one. And
- 33:00Speaker 1: if I don't, only just went on the mouse. Most
- 33:03Speaker 1: people get a warning shot. Man got a big shot.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Most people get a one thought. When he kept getting
- 33:10Speaker 1: arrested for all them abuse calls them them was OJ's
- 33:14Speaker 1: warning shots? That woman called the police nine one one?
- 33:18Speaker 1: How many times went down there with bruises on herself?
- 33:21Speaker 1: How many times pictures I heard? Yeah, bro, that ain't
- 33:24Speaker 1: you you? You go away with it now? Finally here
- 33:28Speaker 1: you go? Yeah, okay, man, Some of those people think
- 33:33Speaker 1: they're invincible, they're untouchable. You know, they use their celebrity
- 33:37Speaker 1: all of that. But anyway, up, Chuck D. If somebody
- 33:43Speaker 1: related to Chuck D, he would be thinking differently and
- 33:46Speaker 1: speaking different that's a good time. Yeah, point, that's right,
- 33:51Speaker 1: that's right, that's a point. That's very well. I think
- 33:55Speaker 1: he cleared it up, Chuck D. I think he put
- 33:58Speaker 1: it up, and I understand why he was trying to say.
- 34:03Speaker 1: But like he didn't come out and tried to say
- 34:06Speaker 1: the wings of perception. Yeah, he tried to get zeep
- 34:09Speaker 1: at the end. My apologies if the wings of perception
- 34:12Speaker 1: loomed beyond the words on this slave app. I don't
- 34:16Speaker 1: know what the slave on there though. You don't you
- 34:19Speaker 1: don't use loom that all. You can't call it a slave. Yeah,
- 34:24Speaker 1: but you're on it, right, you're on the slave app
- 34:27Speaker 1: right with the first message. What did you say, Tommy,
- 34:32Speaker 1: He don't use loom. He trust a regular word. But
- 34:39Speaker 1: that's the word he yelled out for give me a
- 34:41Speaker 1: big word, loom. All right, We're gonna try to move forward,
- 34:51Speaker 1: crazy people. Because in other trending news, YouTube has announced
- 34:57Speaker 1: they announced this yesterday that it will block all anti
- 35:00Speaker 1: vaccine content, taking their ban on false information about COVID
- 35:04Speaker 1: vaccines and expanding it to include content that includes misinformation
- 35:09Speaker 1: about other approved vaccines. The move comes as tech companies
- 35:13Speaker 1: like YouTube and Facebook are being criticized for not doing
- 35:16Speaker 1: enough to stop the spread of false health information on
- 35:20Speaker 1: their site. That's here you go, Yeah, that is that's
- 35:23Speaker 1: really good. That's really good. And take down Trump one,
- 35:27Speaker 1: take that down to you. I mean, congratulations, that's great.
- 35:34Speaker 1: But I mean, since we now we've got something we
- 35:37Speaker 1: can all agree on, why can't we agree on he
- 35:40Speaker 1: hate groups? I think all the information for the clan
- 35:44Speaker 1: and the skin heads and anybody that hates another group,
- 35:47Speaker 1: I think that ought to be taken down too, you know,
- 35:50Speaker 1: thank you, Yes, don't reason be doing that now. It's
- 35:53Speaker 1: because day kids are sick. To see soon as something
- 35:55Speaker 1: happened today kids. Yeah, all right, all right, we're moving on.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Thank you, guys. Coming up in twenty minutes after the hour,
- 36:04Speaker 1: we'll look into the mind of Jay Anthony Brown. Right after.
- 36:09Speaker 1: I don't know you're listening, all right, come on, Steve,
- 36:15Speaker 1: it's your buddy. Introduce him, please, ladies and gentlemen. J
- 36:19Speaker 1: Anthony Brown? What up? Everybody? It's the Wedding of all times.
- 36:24Speaker 1: On the twenty first of October twenty seven, twenty third
- 36:27Speaker 1: Atlanta Comedy Theater and twenty nine and thirty, I'll be
- 36:32Speaker 1: at the Island Comedy Lounge in Silver Springs weeken to Maryland. Baby,
- 36:38Speaker 1: That's where I'm gonna be. Now. A lot of you
- 36:40Speaker 1: Auntie's uncle's, mom's, dad's, cousins, friends. Because of COVID people
- 36:45Speaker 1: have moved back in and that's okay. And you've lost
- 36:49Speaker 1: control of your house and that's not good. Well, I'm
- 36:53Speaker 1: here to set you up with some rules that will
- 36:56Speaker 1: let you get more control of your house if you
- 37:00Speaker 1: decide to let somebody move in. First of all, money
- 37:04Speaker 1: up front. No, we don't pay when we get paid.
- 37:08Speaker 1: We paid for we move with damn boxing. We paid
- 37:12Speaker 1: straight up front. Okay. And you gotta make it uncomfortable.
- 37:17Speaker 1: You only get a bed in your room. You can't
- 37:19Speaker 1: have a computer, a TV, a chair. Sit your ass
- 37:24Speaker 1: on the edge of the bed. I'm just trying to
- 37:26Speaker 1: help you out, okay, Sit, sit sit on it. No chair, no, no,
- 37:35Speaker 1: why are you lounging in my room? You lounging? No,
- 37:38Speaker 1: that's not what we do. Now. If you can't afford
- 37:42Speaker 1: a small refrigerator. Okay, you can use the big refrigerator,
- 37:48Speaker 1: but you gotta put your stuff in that bottom being
- 37:51Speaker 1: the bottom being stuff gold in the bottom. Because I
- 37:57Speaker 1: don't want to look in that thinking it's mind. Then
- 38:00Speaker 1: I eat it. Now. I got to hear your mouth.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Why why I don't need to hear that. These are
- 38:07Speaker 1: for people who move in. We need harsher rules so
- 38:12Speaker 1: that you understand whose house still is. I love your house.
- 38:18Speaker 1: No company, oh hell no, no company, no, no, no, nobody,
- 38:25Speaker 1: and nobody can drop you off. You can't sit in
- 38:29Speaker 1: front of my house in the car and talk. No, no, don't.
- 38:33Speaker 1: I don't know your friends. Pick your ass up at
- 38:37Speaker 1: the corner because I don't want people to know where
- 38:41Speaker 1: I live. You know these people, but I don't know
- 38:44Speaker 1: these people, right, No, ain't gonna be no man. This
- 38:48Speaker 1: is very important if you don't want an older person.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Most older people might get up between four, five, six,
- 38:54Speaker 1: and seven. Some may sleep to twelve, so which means
- 38:58Speaker 1: your bathroom hours seven, eight and nine. And you don't
- 39:06Speaker 1: need to be in there when I got the pe
- 39:09Speaker 1: I mean really, because yeah, you don't This is everything? Yeah,
- 39:14Speaker 1: all right, thank you? Jay More of the Steve Harvey
- 39:16Speaker 1: Morning Show coming up at thirty four minutes after. Right
- 39:18Speaker 1: after this, you're listening to say Morning show. Uh, what
- 39:24Speaker 1: is going on? Then? NBA is looking to get all
- 39:28Speaker 1: of its players vaccinated. That's a good thing before the
- 39:31Speaker 1: start of the season. Amid new executive orders in San
- 39:35Speaker 1: Francisco and New York City, any unvaccinated NBA players who
- 39:39Speaker 1: cannot play will now have to forfeit their pay. Okay,
- 39:50Speaker 1: I makes four hundred and thirty five thousand dollars a game.
- 39:54Speaker 1: What he's saying he's not taking a vaccine. Okay, look, man, brothers,
- 40:01Speaker 1: I'm just gonna say this to all y'all. This your livelihood.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Y'all sitting up in here tripping about the research done
- 40:11Speaker 1: on the vaccine, which is ample enough for them to
- 40:14Speaker 1: make it worldwide. I don't know what you're tripping on.
- 40:18Speaker 1: And you can talk about this my choice. It's your choice.
- 40:20Speaker 1: But when your choice affects the livelihood and welfare of
- 40:23Speaker 1: other people, it's not just your choice. You're in a
- 40:28Speaker 1: locker room in close quarters every day with these group
- 40:31Speaker 1: of guys, and what you can't do is coming there
- 40:34Speaker 1: sick and then affect their livelihood and their money. It's
- 40:38Speaker 1: a team sport. Now, brothers, get this damn vaccine and
- 40:43Speaker 1: carry your ass on. Kay remakes four hundred and thirty
- 40:47Speaker 1: five thousand. What do he let three up? Give me?
- 40:55Speaker 1: Y'all three up? Lebron got vaccinated. Yeah, I should tell
- 40:59Speaker 1: y'all lead by example. There you go. I got the
- 41:03Speaker 1: vaccine before Lebron. I'm not a follower. I don't need
- 41:07Speaker 1: nobody's permission to take care of me and my damn family, right,
- 41:11Speaker 1: And I don't want to hear your theory. Right. Oh yeah,
- 41:17Speaker 1: and listen, it's my choice. It is until it affects me. Right.
- 41:23Speaker 1: It's your choice to be in the clue klux Klan.
- 41:26Speaker 1: But if you come over in my house with your
- 41:29Speaker 1: sign and your hood on, I got something for your ass.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Now your decision it is fit to affect something. Now
- 41:36Speaker 1: your rights actions have consequences. Thank you, caller for red
- 41:42Speaker 1: An employees to have the right to try to protect
- 41:45Speaker 1: all their employees. And that's what they're trying to do here.
- 41:50Speaker 1: And we don't know what the hell you got man, either.
- 41:52Speaker 1: You take the shot, get tested up Tuesday, you ass
- 41:55Speaker 1: home and forfit your money. Here's the way that's a
- 41:58Speaker 1: lot of money to force a lot of pay. But
- 42:00Speaker 1: what about regular jobs? So people in the airline industry. Ye,
- 42:06Speaker 1: but you know what, see calling it's all relative. See
- 42:10Speaker 1: just caused Kyrie make four hundred and thirty five thousand
- 42:12Speaker 1: dollars a game. I've heard that number before. But when
- 42:15Speaker 1: you make four thousand dollars a month and somebody telling
- 42:21Speaker 1: about you can come get this four thousand or you
- 42:24Speaker 1: get nothing, I'm gonna go get this shot because it's
- 42:27Speaker 1: four thousand. That's my four thirty five games. Yesterday, yesterday
- 42:35Speaker 1: United Airlines fired over five hundred employees yesterday they refused
- 42:40Speaker 1: to get vaccinated by the company's deadline. A federal judge
- 42:45Speaker 1: can mandate the New York City teachers get the vaccine
- 42:48Speaker 1: as well. So I mean getting fired or getting the vaccine,
- 42:53Speaker 1: these are your choices, and you choose to get fired.
- 42:56Speaker 1: You're sitting on this plane with all these people and
- 42:58Speaker 1: you ain't vaccinated, working around you know, baggage claim getting
- 43:07Speaker 1: this shot, that's that's that still If weed smoking ass
- 43:16Speaker 1: people talking about they're not taking the vaccine, you don't
- 43:20Speaker 1: know what's in that bag. You don't know when they
- 43:22Speaker 1: to sprinkle something on it. You don't know what they're doing.
- 43:25Speaker 1: But we buy dope, y'all kidding me. You buy dope.
- 43:29Speaker 1: You don't know what's in it. You're just taking it.
- 43:32Speaker 1: Have to go with weed, smokers, though you could. I
- 43:34Speaker 1: wanted to jay because I wanted to hurt you that
- 43:38Speaker 1: I tried to hurt you. I led with weed because
- 43:45Speaker 1: I know how you feel about it. You couldn't done
- 43:51Speaker 1: something up. I still have to go back. You don't
- 43:58Speaker 1: know what's in the soup that you got to eat
- 44:01Speaker 1: at the apple bitzer in the damn soup. That's what's
- 44:08Speaker 1: all right. Coming up next, we're gonna switch gears, and
- 44:11Speaker 1: Nephew Tommy is here with today's prank phone call. Right
- 44:14Speaker 1: after this, you're listening to the Stave Harvey Morning Show

- 44:21Speaker 1: four minutes after, it's my strawberry letter for today, the
- 44:23Speaker 1: subject it's time for a change. But right now the
- 44:27Speaker 1: nephew is here with today's prank phone call. What you
- 44:31Speaker 1: got for a snap? It is time for a prank call?
- 44:38Speaker 1: All right, All mind's clear, heads about, eyes closed. You
- 44:44Speaker 1: prayed for a job. That's what you did. You prayed
- 44:50Speaker 1: for a job. Cat dog. If you would Hello, I'm
- 44:57Speaker 1: trying to reach a Carolin. Please listen, call hi, callen, listen.
- 45:02Speaker 1: My name is Lawrence. Lawrence. I actually go to the
- 45:05Speaker 1: same church you do. I saw you last Sunday where
- 45:08Speaker 1: you stood up in the church and I heard that
- 45:10Speaker 1: you were talking about you going through some bad times
- 45:14Speaker 1: or your job supposedly got rid of the department that
- 45:17Speaker 1: you're in and you were now seeking a new type
- 45:21Speaker 1: of work. Am I right? Just just work period, because
- 45:24Speaker 1: you're looking for a new occupation and you I was
- 45:27Speaker 1: there when you asked everybody to pray for you. Have
- 45:30Speaker 1: you Have you found anything yet? I have an I've
- 45:33Speaker 1: been praying up. We prayed again today. I asked for
- 45:36Speaker 1: the churches prays again today. And there are things gonna
- 45:40Speaker 1: work out, because you know he said you take one, Steff,
- 45:41Speaker 1: You're gonna take two. That's right. I'm propping and I
- 45:44Speaker 1: know what's going to happen. I know. Well, listen, I
- 45:47Speaker 1: think I may be able to be of some help
- 45:48Speaker 1: to you. I actually owned my own company, and I'm
- 45:52Speaker 1: thinking that you could be the perfect person for a
- 45:54Speaker 1: position that I have available. Now, what what type of
- 45:57Speaker 1: work were you doing in the past? Give me some
- 45:59Speaker 1: of your qualification. I'm executive secretary administrative assistance. Anything like
- 46:04Speaker 1: that type ever will is a minute y even take
- 46:08Speaker 1: the old star shorthand often do at all. You just
- 46:10Speaker 1: said what you need and I can do it. Take
- 46:12Speaker 1: care of your executives to come through the office, anything
- 46:14Speaker 1: that's needed, travel expenses, That's what I do. Okay, not
- 46:20Speaker 1: good to What type of hours are you used to
- 46:23Speaker 1: working nine to five? Sometimes I'll come in at hey,
- 46:26Speaker 1: I don't have a problem becoming at eight. I'm coming
- 46:28Speaker 1: even earlier if you need me to come in earlier.
- 46:29Speaker 1: Are you opposed to working at night? No, I don't
- 46:32Speaker 1: know I'm working at night, but I mean it just
- 46:34Speaker 1: it just depends, you know, right, No, Burgers can't be
- 46:37Speaker 1: choosing I ask and I being given to me. Okay, well,
- 46:40Speaker 1: what kind of hours we looking at? I have a
- 46:42Speaker 1: I have a an offer for you that it would
- 46:45Speaker 1: be Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. You will only be
- 46:48Speaker 1: working three days a week for me, okay, just from know,
- 46:52Speaker 1: I was looking for several female hours of a female
- 46:54Speaker 1: days any like full time. I have a family well
- 46:57Speaker 1: to day right right, I understand, but listen, I think
- 47:00Speaker 1: the actual amount will suffice for that. Now, I'm going
- 47:04Speaker 1: to offer you seven hundred and fifty dollars per night
- 47:08Speaker 1: for three nights a week. That's that's two thousand, two
- 47:10Speaker 1: hundred and fifty dollars for for for those three days,
- 47:14Speaker 1: for one week, seven hundred and fifty dollars a night,
- 47:21Speaker 1: and around you're making a week, man. And if you
- 47:28Speaker 1: do the math on that, that adds up to about
- 47:30Speaker 1: nine thousand dollars for a month. I'm so good to
- 47:35Speaker 1: be true. But now I put a living within I
- 47:38Speaker 1: turned it earlier. That's we expected it. I do it
- 47:40Speaker 1: in seven hundred fifty dollars a nine. I mean the books,
- 47:46Speaker 1: you know, because I do have the accounting too. Well,
- 47:48Speaker 1: let me say this now. The reason why I say
- 47:50Speaker 1: it's at night is because I own a nightclub, and
- 47:55Speaker 1: and you would be working at the nightclub for me,
- 47:57Speaker 1: And so you will put in about four or five
- 47:59Speaker 1: hours every night, and and for three nights a week
- 48:02Speaker 1: like I stayed at Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and and of
- 48:06Speaker 1: course i'll play your seven hundred and fifty mint. Of fact,
- 48:08Speaker 1: I'll actually pay you your first two weeks in advance.
- 48:12Speaker 1: And I know I'm sure you you know you've you've
- 48:15Speaker 1: lost your balance. You need to get back on your
- 48:16Speaker 1: feet and everything. Yes, yes, yes, okay, um, so so
- 48:22Speaker 1: you know I'll be doing it to I'm sure like
- 48:24Speaker 1: I can do office work. I'm good like accounting. You
- 48:27Speaker 1: tell me a clip front. I can keep your books
- 48:31Speaker 1: going right? Well, no, not necessarily. I don't need you
- 48:33Speaker 1: to work the front door. Um. I'm actually gonna have
- 48:36Speaker 1: you in the club working. Okay. So, um, I mean
- 48:40Speaker 1: how are you? How's your physical condition? Are you able
- 48:43Speaker 1: to get around? And you don't get tired quick? Do you? Now?
- 48:46Speaker 1: Are you in good physical shape? Yes, don't get tired
- 48:50Speaker 1: quick at all. You need to do something like being
- 48:52Speaker 1: able to bar tenders or something to work to the
- 48:54Speaker 1: board to make sure the money nobody's stilling money from
- 48:57Speaker 1: you or something. No, no, no, you're not at the
- 48:59Speaker 1: bar either. See because what I'm gonna do now, have
- 49:01Speaker 1: you ever done anything like, you know, anything close to
- 49:04Speaker 1: dance or anything like that? Have you done that in
- 49:06Speaker 1: the past? I do live ballet when I was younger.
- 49:10Speaker 1: Uh drill sat cheering. I mean do you ever watching
- 49:15Speaker 1: the while you do the dancing here and there? Okaying around? Okay,
- 49:20Speaker 1: Well that's good because see what what I wanted you
- 49:22Speaker 1: to do is I want you to do a little
- 49:24Speaker 1: bit of dancing in the club. You have something like
- 49:27Speaker 1: ball dancing or something that you need me to teach you.
- 49:30Speaker 1: I don't want to do the ballroom. I can't work
- 49:32Speaker 1: with nobody on that stuff like that. No, I'm not
- 49:34Speaker 1: asking you to do any ballroom dancing anything like that.
- 49:38Speaker 1: What I need you to do I want you to
- 49:40Speaker 1: dance on the pole on the post. See I have
- 49:44Speaker 1: a strip club. I want you to dance on the
- 49:46Speaker 1: pole pot dancing party. Well, actually I own um the
- 49:53Speaker 1: silk Stocking, which is a strip club. I'm not a
- 49:57Speaker 1: strip stock. Look that have mean? You don't want me drugs?
- 50:01Speaker 1: About the mother? Listen, you must watch your man. I
- 50:05Speaker 1: don't bring my poet and nobody you can say that
- 50:08Speaker 1: play listen with that room name. You can shut that
- 50:12Speaker 1: pole up here? What's watch your mine? But don't you
- 50:15Speaker 1: want to make this money? I got seven hundred and
- 50:17Speaker 1: fifty dollars a night for you. I don't need some money.
- 50:20Speaker 1: Tell you right now you're a polar bear. You can
- 50:23Speaker 1: put that polar shove it up the being. You want
- 50:26Speaker 1: no business calling me about no birth and on no
- 50:28Speaker 1: pardon I believe got no church. I'm trying to get
- 50:31Speaker 1: you a job. Baby. They told me that you was
- 50:33Speaker 1: in need of a job, so I'm just trying to
- 50:35Speaker 1: need it. I'm not a need a return, Joe, I'm
- 50:37Speaker 1: not a need more rows. I'm taking off my beard.
- 50:39Speaker 1: I'm running some more. Brought one bar at birth on
- 50:41Speaker 1: the day Pols wanted you. Okay, what if I bumped
- 50:44Speaker 1: up to a dollar allars? I don't take two three
- 50:46Speaker 1: ft five thous Now I'm taking my jows out the no.
- 50:50Speaker 1: I want you that pole. You know you ain't gonna

- 53:04Speaker 1: you remember the slogan you had the type to touch
- 53:07Speaker 1: all the cubes only yellow some moon. The quick brown
- 53:13Speaker 1: fox jumped over the lazy dog's back. Yeah, oh wow,
- 53:17Speaker 1: the quick fox jump over the lazy dogs back. That
- 53:22Speaker 1: made you touch all the keys thirty folwards a minute,

- 54:00Speaker 1: We're doing this one right here, right now. Never know,
- 54:02Speaker 1: it could be yours could be Buckle up and hold
- 54:06Speaker 1: on tight. We got it for you here. It is
- 54:07Speaker 1: a Strawberry letter. Subject It's time for a change. Dear
- 54:11Speaker 1: Stephen Shirley. I'm a board certified registered nurse, and I
- 54:15Speaker 1: was raised in public housing by my aunt because my
- 54:18Speaker 1: mother had me when she was sixteen. After I graduated
- 54:21Speaker 1: from high school, I found out my aunt was sleeping
- 54:24Speaker 1: with my boyfriend, so I beat her up and spent
- 54:27Speaker 1: time in juvenile detention. From that point on, I was
- 54:31Speaker 1: told that I wouldn't amount to anything. I beat the
- 54:34Speaker 1: odds and I got a nursing degree. I'm thirty years old.
- 54:37Speaker 1: And I just bought my first house not far from
- 54:40Speaker 1: where I grew up. All of my female friends from
- 54:43Speaker 1: high school are still fighting over the same men and
- 54:45Speaker 1: working two and three jobs to pay the bills. We
- 54:48Speaker 1: still have house parties and go on vacations, but I
- 54:51Speaker 1: usually pay most of the expenses when we plan anything.
- 54:55Speaker 1: I have been dating the same guy for ten years,
- 54:58Speaker 1: and I'm really out of the man he's become. I've
- 55:02Speaker 1: been patient with him while he completes his degree, but
- 55:05Speaker 1: I don't think he's taking classes right now. When I
- 55:08Speaker 1: evaluate where I am and who I associate with, I
- 55:11Speaker 1: get sad. At work, I'm a different person. I got
- 55:15Speaker 1: to talk to the other shift nurses and doctors, and
- 55:18Speaker 1: it's a different world than what I live. And when
- 55:21Speaker 1: I go home, my boyfriend loves to say I'm different,
- 55:25Speaker 1: and I talk proper. When I'm at work, I am
- 55:28Speaker 1: aware that I'm two different people, and I enjoy the
- 55:31Speaker 1: progressive side of life more so than the one I
- 55:35Speaker 1: grew up in. The more I hang with my girls
- 55:37Speaker 1: on the weekend and we drink till three am, the
- 55:40Speaker 1: more i know that I'm not growing them. I'm ready
- 55:43Speaker 1: to walk away from everything that's familiar. In my life.
- 55:47Speaker 1: But I can't do this anymore? Am I being a sellout?
- 55:51Speaker 1: If I pull away from my friends? Am I supposed
- 55:54Speaker 1: to keep waiting for my boyfriend to get himself all
- 55:56Speaker 1: the way together? Is there a way to distance my
- 55:59Speaker 1: self receptactfully? Wow? If anyone needs a change in their life,
- 56:03Speaker 1: I would say it would be you and those of
- 56:06Speaker 1: us who have lived and have some experience at life,
- 56:08Speaker 1: we will definitely tell you that the one constant in
- 56:11Speaker 1: life is change and we can't avoid it because it's
- 56:15Speaker 1: going to happen whether we want it to or not.
- 56:18Speaker 1: And guess what you're feeling and what you're going through
- 56:21Speaker 1: right now. That's a good thing. You distance yourself by
- 56:24Speaker 1: trying new things, different things, and staying busy. That's how
- 56:28Speaker 1: you do it respectfully. And you can say no. It's
- 56:31Speaker 1: okay to say no if you don't want to do
- 56:33Speaker 1: stuff with them, like hanging out and drinking till three am.
- 56:37Speaker 1: You know that's not what you do anymore. Change means growth,
- 56:40Speaker 1: and you already said that you are out growing them.
- 56:43Speaker 1: You feel it, you see it, and that's okay. Trust me,
- 56:47Speaker 1: you will not be the first one to get a
- 56:49Speaker 1: new circle of friends it's nothing wrong with that. You
- 56:52Speaker 1: should accept and embrace it where it's taking you. This
- 56:55Speaker 1: is your path, now your journey. You're on your journey.
- 56:58Speaker 1: You're not a sellout, and don't let them try to
- 57:00Speaker 1: make you think you're a sellout because you want to
- 57:02Speaker 1: move up and move on and move differently. They just
- 57:06Speaker 1: they just don't want you to outshine them, all right,
- 57:09Speaker 1: that's where that hate would be coming from. You're thirty.
- 57:12Speaker 1: Now what is your man doing besides putting you down,
- 57:15Speaker 1: talking about you talk proper and you're different? Now you
- 57:18Speaker 1: said he's not even in school taking classes, so you
- 57:21Speaker 1: have no idea when or if he's gonna finish. I say,
- 57:25Speaker 1: stop wasting your time, go ahead and live your life. Please,
- 57:30Speaker 1: don't waste any more of your time with your hating friends.
- 57:33Speaker 1: You have to pay for everything with them anyway. What
- 57:36Speaker 1: is that about that says to me that they're users
- 57:40Speaker 1: letting you pay for everything? That's not right. So if
- 57:42Speaker 1: they don't appreciate the change in you, that doesn't ignite
- 57:45Speaker 1: like something in them to be better, I think there
- 57:48Speaker 1: are plenty of other people out there that will. I
- 57:51Speaker 1: just say, go on, live your life, be great. Steve,
- 57:57Speaker 1: all right, the subject is this time for change. Let
- 58:00Speaker 1: me say this about Shirley's response. Every single word Shirley
- 58:05Speaker 1: Strawberry just said was one thousand percent true. Period. There's
- 58:11Speaker 1: no getting around what she told you. Nothing like this.
- 58:16Speaker 1: Sometimes you have to hear it a different way. Now,
- 58:20Speaker 1: what Shirley did was she told you exactly right. I
- 58:23Speaker 1: hope you hear that because she told you almost in
- 58:28Speaker 1: a way where your new, better and more improved side
- 58:33Speaker 1: could understand and take it in. So, since Shirley has
- 58:37Speaker 1: so eloquently done that for the new, improved, new you,
- 58:42Speaker 1: I'm gonna talk to you as to old you so
- 58:45Speaker 1: you can get both sides. You can pick which one
- 58:47Speaker 1: you now. I want you to understand. I'm gonna say
- 58:49Speaker 1: the exact same thing Shirley just said, but we're gonna
- 58:52Speaker 1: take the other route. Let's break the letter down. Here
- 58:55Speaker 1: we go. I'm a boyed, certified registered nurse. I was
- 58:59Speaker 1: read in public housing by my aunt because my mother
- 59:03Speaker 1: had me when she was sixteen. After I graduated from
- 59:06Speaker 1: high school, I found out my aunt was sleeping with
- 59:08Speaker 1: my boyfriend, so I beat her up and I had
- 59:09Speaker 1: to spend time in juvenile detention. Okay, great, let's break
- 59:12Speaker 1: this down. Your mama had you allie. You moved in
- 59:15Speaker 1: with your aunt. Your aunt was you know, tricky. You
- 59:19Speaker 1: found out she slept with your boyfriend, and you whip
- 59:21Speaker 1: your aunt ass. Ye did what happened? Now you jumped
- 59:29Speaker 1: on her real good because you got charges pressed. And
- 59:33Speaker 1: now you then went down to juvie. Now you were
- 59:36Speaker 1: told that you would never amount to anything, and then
- 59:39Speaker 1: you beat the odds. You got out. You rose above
- 59:44Speaker 1: your circumstances. You did exactly that. You have a nursing degree.
- 59:49Speaker 1: You're thirty years old, and you just bought your first
- 59:51Speaker 1: house not far from where I grew up. That was
- 59:56Speaker 1: the mistake. You bought your first this house not far
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: from where you grew up. That was your first mistake.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Because now it has kept you too close to your past.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: And I hate to tell y'all this, but the anti
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: in the hood, you got to keep it real, the
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: real anti should be. You got to keep it moving.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: Hang with why Yeah, hang on. We'll have part two
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: of your response coming up at twenty three minutes after
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: today's Strawberry letter subject It's time for a change. We'll
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: get back into it right after this. You're listening to show,
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: all right, come on, Steve, let's recap today's Strawberry letter.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: The subject It's time for a change. Young girl had
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: a very who's thirty ye old woman is writing this
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: letter had a very similar past to a lot of people.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: Her mother was young when she had a that's not
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: a problem or sin. Are you raised by your aunt?
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: And then you found out when you graduate in high school, y'
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: aren't sleeping with your boyfriend. So you beat the ass
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: and you had spend some time down in Julie. And
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: from that point on you was told you wouldn't amount
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: to anything. And then you did what so many of
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: us have done. You beat the odds. You got a
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: nursing degree, You're thirty years old, you just bought your
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: first house. Here's a problem not far from where I
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: grew up, right around them, very same people that said
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: you would never amount to anything. All your female friends
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: from high school are still fighting over the same end
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: and working two and three jobs to pay the bills.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: All my female friends from high school are still fighting
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: over the same end and working two three jobs pay
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: the bills. I'm gonna save my next statement. We still
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: have house parties, go on vacations, but I usually pay
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: most of the expenses when we playing anything. Surely said
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: it this way. You need a new group of friends.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: Why it's your ass trying to hang on to something
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: that is not providing a benefit to you. You know why,
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: because you are suffering from what so many people you
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: as an emotion that has turned out to be the
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: most useless emotion in the world, and it is called guilt.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: Stop suffering from guilt because it's a useless emotion. It
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: serves nobody any purposes. U the person who's applying the guilt,
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: and the guilt is being applied by your friends since
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: they can't afford to do nothing and you can. You
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: got to pay for You need some new damn friends.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: Here we go, but I usually pay for most of dispressive.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: I have been dating the same guy for ten years,
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: and I'm really proud of the man he's become. I've
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: been patient with him while he completes disagreeving. I don't
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: think he's taking classes right now. And when I elevate
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: what I am and who I associate with, I get sad.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: You are now sad with where you've gotten yourself, because
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: where you've gotten remains to stay too close to where
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: you're from once again, the antigen, the hood. If you
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: got to keep it real, the antig is really you
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: got to keep it moving, so you have time to
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: try to stay true to your roots. When your roots
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: is sick, your roots are poisoned, your root is gonna
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: hinder and throught the development of your growth as a
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: plant because you're trying to stay true to your roots. Well,
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: your roots ain't moving, they ain't an't good soul, they
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: ain't being fertilized or nothing. Now you got the same
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: guy for ten years. You're proud of the man he's become,
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: but you don't think he in classic right. You don't
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: even know what he's doing. So now your association, if
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: you continue to associate, you remember the saying association brings
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: on participation. If you keep hanging with him, guess what
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: you keep doing what them is doing. So now you're
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: through on the house parties and you're drinking. What what's
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: the benefit at work? I'm a different person. I get
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: to talk to the other shift nurses. Oh, you get
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: to talk with the people who are like minded. Oh okay,
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: you could talk to other shift nurses and doctors. And
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: it's a different world than when I live in When
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: I go home, that's because you bought your home in
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: the wrong place. You know, you ain't gotta keep it real,
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: you gotta keep it moving. And this is not an
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: anti hood statement, because all the great things in my
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: life is from the hood. I couldn't stay there and
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: elevate at the same time. So Number one, you need
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: to think about that. My boyfriend loves to say I'm
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: different and I talk proper when I'm at work. I'm
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: aware that I'm two different people, and I enjoy the
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: progressive side of my life more than one. I grew
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: up here. It's because you're there's time for you to
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: grow up and to move on. Some people are in
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: your life for a season. There are a lot of
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: people in your life that are seasonal people. Everybody come
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: with you can't go with you. You got to stop
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: trying to hang onto your past when it's throating your future.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: You can't keep hanging out with what you used to
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: be when God has something clearly he wants you to be.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: But you have the power of choice, so hanging on
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: to what you used to be is prohibiting you from
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: fully reaching the potential of what you could be. I'm
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: not ready to walk away from everything that's familiar in
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: my life. Then cool stayed out throughout your growth, continue
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: not to grow, go to house party, drink to three
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: o'clock in the morning. Day the man that ain't moving forward,
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: that's tripping on you because you're different and you enjoy
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: the difference, But you ain't ready to walk away from
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: everything that's familiar with you. If you stay in your
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: comfort zone, that's where you're gonna fail. That's true again.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: If you stay in your comfort zone, that's where you
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: will fail. Success is not in your comfort zone. It's
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: on the other side. And if you want to be successful,
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: you got to get out your comfort zone and prepare
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: yourself to get uncomfortable. Am I being a sellout if
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: I pull out from my friend? Now? Hell? Now, you
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: ain't being a sellout. It's called moved out. Yeah, you
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: ain't no sellout. You moved out. Am I supposed to
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: keep waiting for my boyfriend to get himself all the
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: way together? Is that way to distance myself respectfully? No?
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: The way you distance yourself respectfully is that you you
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: stopped hanging with them. Stop, lady, you know them nothing
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: they're going to say, keep it real to you. They're
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: gonna say you a sellout. All you can stay there
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: and regret it the rest of your life, or you
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: can go and move on and see what God has
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: for you. You ain't gonna be less. Black. Strubberry Letter

- 1:17:23Speaker 1: and thirty five thousand dollars a game. What he's saying
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: he's not taking a vaccine. Okay, look, man, um, brothers,

- 1:17:46Speaker 1: and you can talk about this my choice. It's your choice.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: But when your choice affects the livelihood and welfare of
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: other people, it's not just your choice. You're in a

- 1:18:34Speaker 1: I don't need nobody's permission to take care of me
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: and my damn family. And I don't want to hear
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: your theory. Oh yeah, and listen, it's my choice. It

- 1:18:52Speaker 1: be in the clue klux Klan. But if you come
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: over in my house with your sign and your hood on,

- 1:19:25Speaker 1: of money to force a lot of paper. But what
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: about regular jobs, so people in the airline industry. But
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: you know what, see call it it's all relative. See
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: just caused Kyrie make four hundred and thirty five thousand
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: dollars a game. I've heard that number before. But when
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: you make four thousand dollars a month and somebody telling
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: about you can come get this four thousand or you
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: get nothing. I'm gonna go get the shot because it's
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: four thousand. That's my four thirty five games coming up.

- 1:21:16Speaker 1: we can't hear you? Hell yeah, I bet not. I
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: act like I bet like can't I forgot that? I
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: don't forget No way, I tall. Here we go. This
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: is my closes remarks It day. I was I was
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: watching TV actually last night, and um and you know
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: that show that comes on A and E called Intervention
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: where they where they try to intervene and get their
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: family members off drugs or alcohol or whatever, you know.
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: And I was watching it and this girl on the
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: show was twenty four years old. And then they had
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: another episode where this man was fifty, the girl was
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: on rugs meth, and the guy was an alcoholic but
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: he was fifty and she was twenty three. And I
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: was watching this and both of them said the same
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: thing which prompted my closing remarks today. Both of them said,
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: what could my life have been? Both of them said
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: that at one point, man, I've messed up. What could
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: my life have been? Now? That's really hard, man, when
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: you hear a twenty three year old say that, But
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: for me, as equally as hard when I hear a
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: fifty year old say that. Because what I want to
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: say to everybody out there is talking about what could
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: your life have been. I want you to realize that
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: that's a trick, y'all. Don't let the devil fool you
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: with the thought of what could my life have been?
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: That's a trick. Your life is not over. I don't
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: care what you've done. If God wakes you up, it's
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: because He ain't through with you. Your life is never
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: over until it's over. Don't let the devil fool you
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: with the thought of what could my life have been?
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: It's a trick. We all make mistakes, every last one
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: of us. We will continue to make mistakes until we
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: lead as world. Now listen, one of the mistakes that
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: we all make is sometimes we make decisions that are
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: contrary to what God actually wants for us. We've all
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: done this. We all make mistakes that cause us to
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: take and make detours in our life. And the detours
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: that we take in our life are oftentimes leads us
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: into another direction counter to the one that God had
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: planned for us. Because God's original plan for you is
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: to prosper. But we make decisions along the way that
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: causes detours. And because something that is delayed doesn't mean
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: that it's denied. And I want you all to stop
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: thinking and allowing the devil to food you talking about
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: what could my life have been? Your life still has opportunities, chances,
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: decisions that can be made. Your life is still valuably
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: because God keeps giving you life. Don't let this devil
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: do his masterful trick. His only mission in life is
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: to rob you of your destiny. You can't let this
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: happen by allowing the negative thought to come in what
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: could my life have been? Your life can still be.
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: Everybody makes detours. I was looking on the line the
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: other day and I saw Cardi B an offset over
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: in Paris, right for fashion week, and Cardi B was
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: decked out. This girl bad in the fashion game. But
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: I was listening to my assistant tell me Cardi B
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: story how she used to work out a grocery store
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: and she couldn't make ends meet to her talked her
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: into another profession, which was to become a stripper. Now,
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: God ain't never told nobody to strip. You can believe that,
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: But we make decisions. But anyway, long story short, Cardi
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: B saved her money, went and met a radio personality
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: and did a track, made a song. This was the
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: story he told me. How true that is? I don't know,
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: but I loved it right. Cardi B now is famous
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: as an artist, but she took a detour. She was
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: a stripper. God never had intention for Cardi B to
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: be a stripper. Cardi B was to be a mother,
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: Cardi B was to be a global star. And Cardi
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: B this is her career. Her mission is still being unfolded.
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: What Cardi B is going to be? She ain't even
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: reached it yet. What Beyonce he's going to be? She
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: made out, I've reached it yet. What I'm going to be?
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: I'm getting there. I took some detours in life. I
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: made some decisions and some marriages. I made some decisions
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: with my career. I ended up homeless. I took some
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: detools man to get here. Don't let the devil fool
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: you with that statement of what could my life have been?
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: Everybody makes mistakes that cause it detools that are contrary
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: to God's plan. But don't you let the devil fool
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: you with what couldn't your life have been? Your life
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: is always processing. We are all in the process, even
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: when you make a mistake, even when you cause a delay.
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: But because it's delay, don't mean it's denied. We are
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: all in the process. Don't get tripped out because your
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: process then took a detool. God ain't through with you yet.
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: I'm telling you, man, your life can still be great
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: at fifty. Your life can be great at twenty three.
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: Don't be fooled with the trick of what your life
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: can be. Trust in God. Talk to God, call on him,
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: and let him show you what your life can be
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: because He got one. See your money. For all Steve
