I'm thinking today of this first Peter 2.4, the back of verse, and it says,

And coming to him as to a living stone, which has been rejected by men, but is

choice and precious in the sight of God. It's true, Jesus has been rejected by many.

The ultimate rejection, of course, was probably his crucifixion. His life was

taken because of who he was, but in truth it was not taken by anyone, but

willingly given by him for the forgiveness of sins. This does not make

the rejection less than complete. Post-resurrection, he has been rejected by

every unbeliever and has saved everyone who has not rejected him. Lord, let me see

Jesus as choice and precious, seeking you as a precious jewel. Lord, to give up, I'd

be a fool. You are my all in all. This Jesus who paid for my sin, this Jesus who

rose again to prove that there is life after death and life for me after my

death. This Jesus who died for me, and if he died for all, then all died. But if you

reject him and do not recognize him as a choice and precious jewel, then it will

not be so. Help anyone who might be interested, anyone who might be looking

in the general direction of God, that might be groping or help them find the

God of the universe, and he has sent his son Jesus to die on the cross to pay for

sins as that choice and precious jewel in the sight of God. Praise Jesus.
