  I'm thinking today of Hebrews 11, verse 1. Hebrews

  11, verse 1 says, Now faith is the assurance

  of things hoped for, the conviction of things

  not seen. So first of all, we have the faith,

  and then we have what the faith is directed towards,
• 0:19
  I guess you could say. So we have two words,

  assurance and conviction. Assurance is when you're
• 0:24
  getting constant confirmation. You're comforted
• 0:27
  in your knowledge that something is true. Conviction
• 0:30
  is when it goes deeper than the belief. I think
• 0:34
  it's true, and therefore I'm going to act on
• 0:36
  it. I'm almost 100 % certain, and therefore I'm
• 0:39
  going to act on it. But conviction goes way deeper
• 0:42
  than that, so that when everything else you believe
• 0:45
  would seem to contradict your conviction, your
• 0:52
  conviction holds true anyway. I believe in gravity,
• 0:56
  so I don't go walking off cliffs. But I am convicted
• 0:59
  that there is a life after this one and that
• 1:03
  Jesus came so that we might have life and have
• 1:05
  it more abundantly in this lifetime and then
• 1:08
  for eternity with God. We can know. It's more
• 1:11
  than just believing a thing. It's the overflow
• 1:13
  of knowing a thing down in your soul. Faith is
• 1:17
  fed by deeper holdings. We are a people of faith
• 1:20
  and we live in the realm of what we believe.

  And what we believe flows out of what has become
• 1:26
  who we are. And believing in Jesus Christ as
• 1:29
  your Lord and Savior, God will come in and He
• 1:32
  will save you. If you're 97, 98, 99 % sure that
• 1:36
  you're saved, that's just not good enough. 99
• 1:38
  % saved is 100 % lost. Accept Jesus Christ as
• 1:42
  your Lord and Savior today.
