- 1:17Speaker 1: event put on for essence by Sheet. My good friend
- 1:20Speaker 1: Sheileo Dredge, and I met him and he impressed me
- 1:23Speaker 1: enough to convince me that he should be on my show.
- 1:27Speaker 1: And guess what, he deserves to be on my show
- 1:29Speaker 1: because he does what I feel everybody should understand. He's
- 1:32Speaker 1: self motivated. He's a solo preneurs entrepreneur, as they say it,
- 1:36Speaker 1: solo preneur. My next guest is an international journalist and
- 1:39Speaker 1: media specialist. His blog is dedicated to promoting the arts
- 1:43Speaker 1: and shredding light on the amazing talents this world has
- 1:46Speaker 1: to offer. With over five million hits to date. With
- 1:49Speaker 1: a degree in journalism, PR and marketing and a minor
- 1:52Speaker 1: in music, the media prints holds the bar high and
- 1:55Speaker 1: showcasing innovative works that go from celebrity clientele to up
- 1:59Speaker 1: and coming talent. Please welcome to the money making conversation
- 2:03Speaker 1: the CEO of the Media Prints Lankston Vincent gone, brother,
- 2:08Speaker 1: thank you for having me a long time man and
- 2:11Speaker 1: so a generan why I hope you've been out there
- 2:13Speaker 1: doing it, been doing it, trying to stay busy working well?
- 2:17Speaker 1: And what is that when you say that, trying to
- 2:18Speaker 1: stay busy working Because I try to let everybody in
- 2:21Speaker 1: know different shades of success that you can do in life.
- 2:24Speaker 1: How many there's a many of doors you can open
- 2:26Speaker 1: to be successful and not be and not be limited.
- 2:29Speaker 1: So you are an entrepreneur in the media space, tell
- 2:31Speaker 1: everybody exactly what you do. Okay, So of course our
- 2:34Speaker 1: own the media prints dot com. It's a website dedicates
- 2:39Speaker 1: dedicated to showing all fasters of art. You know, art
- 2:42Speaker 1: can be anything, music, dance, poetry, athletics, politics, And I've
- 2:48Speaker 1: had a background at writing for bigger publications, but they
- 2:51Speaker 1: don't give a voice to you know, the up and
- 2:53Speaker 1: coming talent at the time of that needs to be seen.
- 2:55Speaker 1: So I wanted to create a platform to where I
- 2:59Speaker 1: can showcase those exact talents and bring them to a
- 3:02Speaker 1: bigger platform now and showcasing them. How do they reach
- 3:06Speaker 1: you or do you just go around different clubs. You
- 3:08Speaker 1: see talent and say, hey, this is who I am.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Allow me to publish, publish a story on you or
- 3:14Speaker 1: post something. How does that work? Well? At first when
- 3:17Speaker 1: I first came out, of course, I did a lot
- 3:19Speaker 1: of reaching out because you know, I have to you
- 3:20Speaker 1: have to do the groundwork there. You don't know your name,
- 3:22Speaker 1: your name and trust you now currently now they're emailing
- 3:29Speaker 1: out the woodworks there you go. And so when they
- 3:32Speaker 1: email you, what are their expectations? Uh? So you're the
- 3:35Speaker 1: media prints and you're sreading like you bringing exposure right
- 3:39Speaker 1: to for new talent. And I think I wrote it
- 3:42Speaker 1: down and said fashion, music, politics, athletics. You could be
- 3:46Speaker 1: a disc jock of paint or disc jockey, which is
- 3:49Speaker 1: radio or music and in the club painters, poets, you
- 3:54Speaker 1: name it. You're there to expose those lanes. Uh could
- 3:58Speaker 1: could a comedian following that, could an actor all in
- 4:00Speaker 1: a lane as well. Control again because there's an artist
- 4:03Speaker 1: of what they do. So it definitely can fall a
- 4:04Speaker 1: lout on the website. Now with that being said, what
- 4:08Speaker 1: is the day in the life of the media prints?
- 4:10Speaker 1: You know, because the media happens in twenty four hours
- 4:13Speaker 1: a day, you know, you have TMZ out there. They
- 4:15Speaker 1: seem to be at the airport, catching people fighting, you,
- 4:18Speaker 1: catch you coming out of the restaurant. They're all over
- 4:20Speaker 1: the place. How you're based in d C and we
- 4:23Speaker 1: were you know, we say international. I saw the word
- 4:25Speaker 1: right there, international journalists and media specialists. Yes, sir, you're
- 4:29Speaker 1: based in d C. How are you international? Well, right
- 4:33Speaker 1: now the site is turning in twenty five countries. So
- 4:36Speaker 1: each when they get my analytics from the website, shut down,
- 4:40Speaker 1: you go shut me down like I'm just right now,
- 4:42Speaker 1: I'm trending in twenty five countries. Congratulation. Actually, we just
- 4:47Speaker 1: got um six million hits finally clicked on the website
- 4:51Speaker 1: last week and right now we're getting a big love
- 4:55Speaker 1: from Australia. So that's one of the highest countries right now.
- 4:58Speaker 1: They get on the website a lot. Now do you
- 5:00Speaker 1: travel Langston? I do. We just got back to not
- 5:04Speaker 1: too long ago. We were just in l A for
- 5:06Speaker 1: the BT weekend crying the BT Awards. That gets you
- 5:10Speaker 1: a lot of traffic. Yes, Now we're on the red
- 5:12Speaker 1: carpet down there or were you just go to the
- 5:15Speaker 1: red carpet? Um I did the fan fast and so
- 5:19Speaker 1: many stars were having different events, so I covered like
- 5:22Speaker 1: UM shop openings, listening parties, album parties, so we were everywhere.
- 5:29Speaker 1: When I say I didn't get any sleep in l A,
- 5:31Speaker 1: I had absolutely no sleep. So that's the goal though, right,
- 5:35Speaker 1: you know, no sleep. Now you know you come back
- 5:37Speaker 1: where arrested, and that was just a vacation. You can't
- 5:43Speaker 1: go to the BT Awards and come back where arrested.
- 5:46Speaker 1: I slept long hours. Man, I go to any party,
- 5:49Speaker 1: So what what what stood out for you the most
- 5:51Speaker 1: when you cover an event like that? Because you're the
- 5:53Speaker 1: you own the red carpet, and you got all these
- 5:55Speaker 1: parties and now you know from experience, I know exactly
- 5:57Speaker 1: what you're talking about. They can, they can. They can
- 5:59Speaker 1: go on long forever. You know, you could be standing
- 6:03Speaker 1: in the party and right next to you it just
- 6:05Speaker 1: alble could walk up to you and just be standing
- 6:07Speaker 1: right next to you. That's how those parties. I'm just
- 6:09Speaker 1: letting you know. They're that they're that casual. But also
- 6:12Speaker 1: there they don't but because the music is so loud,
- 6:15Speaker 1: you really can't do anything with them. You know, you
- 6:17Speaker 1: just what's up interest and just you can't stick a
- 6:20Speaker 1: microphone in their face because the fact that you can
- 6:22Speaker 1: probably get a selfie out of them, you know, may
- 6:25Speaker 1: be the most. So when you're in these environments, you
- 6:28Speaker 1: run it and you run into talent. How do you
- 6:31Speaker 1: handle those and how do you establish the relationships? Well,
- 6:34Speaker 1: I'm gonna be quite honest, that's where I have my
- 6:37Speaker 1: my publicist. She's a bulldog. She's always ready. That's the
- 6:41Speaker 1: young lady you met. Indeed, she is a bulldog. No
- 6:45Speaker 1: matter what what event we go into, were coming with
- 6:47Speaker 1: a game plan. We know who the key players are,
- 6:51Speaker 1: what this event is about, and who we need to
- 6:53Speaker 1: talk to. So when we go and she'll say do
- 6:55Speaker 1: you need a picture or you need an interview, I
- 6:56Speaker 1: just say either or And before the events of I
- 7:00Speaker 1: have either a picture or interview. Now I'm gonna just
- 7:03Speaker 1: tell you something. You know, we say bulldog. That's a
- 7:06Speaker 1: very complimentary turn because she because that's how I met him. Okay,
- 7:11Speaker 1: I was there. I had Tracy, she's one of my
- 7:13Speaker 1: one of my creative producers. She said, Rashaan, this young
- 7:16Speaker 1: lady wants to talk to you. And I looked over there,
- 7:19Speaker 1: I go I didn't know who she was, but she
- 7:22Speaker 1: came over, had a very polite effective speech. This is
- 7:26Speaker 1: important to everybody here. How you create relationships. You know,
- 7:29Speaker 1: I'm a stranger to her and she's a stranger to me,
- 7:33Speaker 1: but she was able to network immediately. And that's why
- 7:35Speaker 1: we're communicating to day and that's how we're expanding your
- 7:38Speaker 1: brand and your popularity. Because that's all his interviews about
- 7:41Speaker 1: to let people know about the media prints. Correct, correct, correct, Now,
- 7:46Speaker 1: let's let's get into the little details about what exactly
- 7:49Speaker 1: you do because you have a blog, correct side, What
- 7:53Speaker 1: exactly is a blog? Well, a blog is a platform
- 7:58Speaker 1: where you're free to just write however you feel. So
- 8:00Speaker 1: of course they have all types of blogs, their food blogs,
- 8:04Speaker 1: lifestyle blogs, flash fashion blogs. Um. But my blog um
- 8:09Speaker 1: kind of is a fine line between actual blog site
- 8:13Speaker 1: and a website website. So of course I have I
- 8:18Speaker 1: can write whatever I wants on there, but it's also
- 8:20Speaker 1: in website for entertainment website format, so it kind of
- 8:23Speaker 1: varies between those two forms, and I'm just free to write. Um.
- 8:26Speaker 1: It's allowed me to do things like reviews, which is
- 8:29Speaker 1: something new now. People invited me to all their events
- 8:32Speaker 1: and stuff like do a review on it. I know
- 8:35Speaker 1: it's important to have the right blogger, especially with certain
- 8:37Speaker 1: eventus you're trying to get out and then reach a
- 8:40Speaker 1: certain artist. What do you what do you feel, who
- 8:42Speaker 1: do you feel is your you're communicated with bel female wise,
- 8:46Speaker 1: percentage wise and age group. Okay, well you're gonna have
- 8:51Speaker 1: to make Niki on my anethletics hunt. Absolutely. Hey man,
- 8:54Speaker 1: you're calling money made conversations now you even like that?
- 8:56Speaker 1: I hope you weren't sitting over that. Man. I think
- 8:58Speaker 1: there's gonna be a casual interview because I need to
- 9:02Speaker 1: know because of the fact that you know so many people,
- 9:04Speaker 1: so many people are trying to evolve into these lanes.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Because it's like, because you, it's the question I want
- 9:10Speaker 1: to ask you. It's like, what is the perfect blog
- 9:12Speaker 1: to showcase your talent? You know, because you know, you
- 9:15Speaker 1: just can't just jump on any blog and just start
- 9:18Speaker 1: start start or trying to tag it or trying to
- 9:21Speaker 1: create a relationship. So it has to be a blog
- 9:24Speaker 1: that you mentioned earlier, food blogs, their fashion blogs, your
- 9:27Speaker 1: entertainment blog out there. So so that means that you
- 9:30Speaker 1: have to know where you're going with your brand. And
- 9:33Speaker 1: so that's why I just get a little bit more
- 9:34Speaker 1: in detail because I do want to know the dudes
- 9:36Speaker 1: and don't of this whole world that you're in because
- 9:39Speaker 1: you are a media guy. So when it comes to
- 9:41Speaker 1: social media posting, just give us a little nutshell about
- 9:44Speaker 1: what do you do when you're trying to give people
- 9:46Speaker 1: advice in this whole world of promotion? All brand it well? First,
- 9:52Speaker 1: I say what's your niche? Find out what you want
- 9:54Speaker 1: to write about, because when it's all said and done,
- 9:57Speaker 1: it should be something that enterests you first, because if
- 10:00Speaker 1: don't find interest in it, then you're just basically hopping
- 10:02Speaker 1: on the bandwagon with my blog. Of course, when you
- 10:05Speaker 1: think of a bloggers, you think of ras hill chen
- 10:08Speaker 1: tms either real gossipy blogs. When I created my blog,
- 10:12Speaker 1: I created with the attempt of my blog can get
- 10:15Speaker 1: to Beyonce interview that other blogs cannot. So I tell people,
- 10:20Speaker 1: find your niche rightful who you want to write for,
- 10:24Speaker 1: and be patient. Everything doesn't come overnight, but just keep writing.
- 10:29Speaker 1: If it's something you love, go from there. That's those
- 10:32Speaker 1: are the dudes. The don'ts are just trying to copy
- 10:34Speaker 1: someone else's start trying to write with somebody else's writing about.
- 10:38Speaker 1: It has to be organic or because if it's not organic.
- 10:41Speaker 1: The audience is definitely definitely going to tell which is
- 10:45Speaker 1: really important for you to say that publicly. Now some
- 10:48Speaker 1: of the interviews that you go out there and do
- 10:50Speaker 1: that you do is there is a certain expectation um
- 10:54Speaker 1: from your audience for a certain type of interview that
- 10:57Speaker 1: you're able to capture because that's how you grow when
- 11:00Speaker 1: I always tell people, you know, what is your voice? Who?
- 11:03Speaker 1: That's why I was asking who you're who you're talking to?
- 11:05Speaker 1: Collect you're using b T. You know you wouldn't at
- 11:07Speaker 1: the at the Stellar Awards. That's what those are two
- 11:11Speaker 1: different audiences. Okay. The key to it too now that
- 11:14Speaker 1: people will brings people so much attraction to the interviews
- 11:17Speaker 1: is I make the interview about the artists at all times.
- 11:21Speaker 1: You don't care about your personal life. I don't care
- 11:23Speaker 1: about you know what you're going through. I want to
- 11:25Speaker 1: know about your craft and I want the artists or
- 11:29Speaker 1: whoever interviewing. I want the viewers to walk away if
- 11:32Speaker 1: they didn't know them, like Dane, that's a dope person.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I need to know who they are. I want that
- 11:37Speaker 1: that part of YO to showcase in the interviews. So
- 11:39Speaker 1: I try to get those dynamics I'm on the phone
- 11:42Speaker 1: talking to the international He's he's an international journalist and
- 11:45Speaker 1: media specialist. His blog is dedicated promoting the arts and
- 11:49Speaker 1: shredding shedding light on the amazing talents this world has
- 11:52Speaker 1: to offer with uh, with talent in the world of fashion,
- 11:56Speaker 1: music and politics. And that's that's that's your vision. How
- 11:59Speaker 1: did you come up with that? Angle? That vision? You
- 12:02Speaker 1: know you're sitting around trying to find your lane. How
- 12:04Speaker 1: did you come up with that? Langston? The media? Honest well, honestly,
- 12:08Speaker 1: the media prints. It's funny how I came up with
- 12:11Speaker 1: with it. The name first period, because I was, of
- 12:15Speaker 1: course stunting on Instagram. It was almost homecoming time. I
- 12:19Speaker 1: wanted to say I was using my degree, so I
- 12:22Speaker 1: just kept saying currently editing them. I just was thinking
- 12:25Speaker 1: of words editing the media prints dot com. Really wasn't
- 12:29Speaker 1: I was really on the couch, probably just watching TV.
- 12:32Speaker 1: But the name kept Everyone kept coming in. That name
- 12:35Speaker 1: is so dope, that name is so dope. So I
- 12:37Speaker 1: finally said, you know what, let me get off my butt,
- 12:40Speaker 1: let me see if anybody has this name. Let me
- 12:42Speaker 1: heard the trademarket, let me buy it. Get on the paperwork,
- 12:45Speaker 1: for it. Once I realized I did that, I kind
- 12:48Speaker 1: of felt like a weight was off my shoulder, isn't
- 12:51Speaker 1: It felt like something refreshing, like Wow, I'm accidentally taking
- 12:55Speaker 1: a step. So after that, I immediately started editing and
- 12:59Speaker 1: getting a website together, both the domain name and it
- 13:02Speaker 1: went from there. That was February. Oh Man, I want
- 13:07Speaker 1: to thank you for coming on my show. Can you
- 13:09Speaker 1: can you become a regular on my show because I
- 13:13Speaker 1: do want to get you on the show, man, just
- 13:15Speaker 1: to introduce you to my my listeners, my followers. I think,
- 13:19Speaker 1: I feel you're an incredible talent. You're doing something that
- 13:21Speaker 1: needs to be heard, and hey, let's let's blow you up, man,
- 13:24Speaker 1: And I want to appreciate you again lancing the media
- 13:26Speaker 1: press here. Thank you so much on money making conversation.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Keep winning, Keep winning, my man. You need to check

- 13:44Speaker 1: stylish and discreet, with no dangling wires or stems, and
