- 3:25Speaker 1: service to the community with a cave. Please welcome to
- 3:29Speaker 1: money making conversation. I like to call him the chief
- 3:31Speaker 1: steward of the Brakfast Club. My friend Marcus Davids, Hey, Marcus, Hey, Marcos?
- 3:39Speaker 1: Was that too long, man? Because you know we're battling
- 3:42Speaker 1: off a man. Don't say that long intro? Because I
- 3:44Speaker 1: like to think of christ Mattick when I introduced people. Man,
- 3:47Speaker 1: how was that? Man? You laid it out, brother, and
- 3:50Speaker 1: I appreciate it. You laid it out way. I appreciate it.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I appreciate it much. We think the thing. I gotta
- 3:57Speaker 1: go way back, you know, to twenty one. I knew
- 4:00Speaker 1: I was in l A at the time. Steve Harving,
- 4:03Speaker 1: I was doing radio in l A. So we were
- 4:04Speaker 1: starting our dream. And when you start a dream, it
- 4:07Speaker 1: always is just something just doing. There's no set where
- 4:11Speaker 1: you're gonna be five years from now, ten years from now,
- 4:14Speaker 1: or even twenty years from now what you are right now?
- 4:16Speaker 1: What was the plan when you just owned those stories
- 4:20Speaker 1: twenty years ago of the breast? What was the plan? UM?
- 4:26Speaker 1: You know? In in nine nine, I set out and
- 4:30Speaker 1: and UH wrote the vision and made it plain. I
- 4:34Speaker 1: envisioned us being a staple for the city of Houston.
- 4:39Speaker 1: I envisioned us being UM synonymous with the city. I
- 4:43Speaker 1: envisioned us being known from UH coast to coach, from
- 4:47Speaker 1: the Pacific to the Atlantic. I envisioned us being an
- 4:52Speaker 1: intricate part of the community. I envisioned us being a
- 4:57Speaker 1: source of inspiration for community. Knowing where we stood in
- 5:03Speaker 1: this industry and what the opportunities UH were. UH, I
- 5:07Speaker 1: envisioned to feel that that that void. So I wanted
- 5:10Speaker 1: to create this concept UH step out on faith UM
- 5:15Speaker 1: and give Houston and and the after CORECT community what
- 5:19Speaker 1: it deserves. Well the what it deserves, what you brought
- 5:23Speaker 1: to the table. But when all when you have a
- 5:25Speaker 1: product and you have to charge people for that product,
- 5:29Speaker 1: that always leads to mixed emotions because especially in our
- 5:32Speaker 1: community and on the beauty of the breakfast club is
- 5:35Speaker 1: that if you get in line, it is one of
- 5:37Speaker 1: the diverse lines in the world is everybody that lined
- 5:40Speaker 1: his Spanish Whites, sometimes more whites in lives than blacks. Okay,
- 5:43Speaker 1: so he's serving that international customer that he wants and so,
- 5:48Speaker 1: but it didn't start out like that. And so making
- 5:51Speaker 1: that price point, how did that come into play? So
- 5:54Speaker 1: you can make sure you're comfortable with it because you
- 5:56Speaker 1: gotta make money, but you also have to make sure
- 5:58Speaker 1: the customer doesn't feel offended. So let me let me
- 6:02Speaker 1: address the first half of that. Right, you talked about
- 6:04Speaker 1: the diversity. I mentioned just a second ago that I
- 6:08Speaker 1: wanted to be uh synonymous with the city. I wanted
- 6:11Speaker 1: to be an ambassador reflection of my city, and the
- 6:14Speaker 1: city of Houston is was and is a microcosm of
- 6:18Speaker 1: the United States. It is a very diverse, diverse city,
- 6:24Speaker 1: and I wanted the concept to be just as diverse.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you something. I remember driving bankers and
- 6:30Speaker 1: potential investors crazy. When you know this as a businessman,
- 6:35Speaker 1: you know this. I will go into the banking or
- 6:37Speaker 1: business plan and uh, they would ask who is your
- 6:41Speaker 1: target audience, who's your target demographic? And I told them
- 6:46Speaker 1: anyone and everyone that wants to participate. We are inviting
- 6:50Speaker 1: to participate, and they would try and drill me down
- 6:53Speaker 1: or no, you gotta idementify target demographic, and I insisted
- 6:57Speaker 1: that I didn't that I wanted to do something different.
- 7:01Speaker 1: I wanted the city of Houston to be reflected in
- 7:04Speaker 1: the breakfast Club. And here's the example that I told
- 7:07Speaker 1: the bankers that never gave me any money. I wanted
- 7:10Speaker 1: a place where. I wanted a place where UH college
- 7:16Speaker 1: students from Malmma to Texas Southern and you have AGED
- 7:19Speaker 1: and Rice, and you have AGED Downtown and St. Thomas,
- 7:23Speaker 1: all surrounding UH universities surrounding the Breakfast Club. I wanted
- 7:27Speaker 1: them to sit in the same space where Fortune five
- 7:31Speaker 1: hundred vps and c e O s sat for breakfast.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Because we're on the outskirts of of of downtown. I
- 7:39Speaker 1: wanted the folks in the medical center to come and
- 7:43Speaker 1: have lunch with the people who work on the light poles.
- 7:45Speaker 1: I wanted any and everybody that wanted to participate in
- 7:48Speaker 1: this concept called UH Fellowship. I wanted them in and
- 7:52Speaker 1: so UH that that's where that idea of the version.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Let me tell you something funny. I knew we had
- 7:57Speaker 1: arrived at what I had envisioned the bankers over Hill.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Now the investorgs to me Hill. Now, maybe that's why
- 8:02Speaker 1: none of them gave me any money, right right, right right.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I never forget one day seen um one of my
- 8:09Speaker 1: marketing folks. She could say, come here, you gotta see this.
- 8:11Speaker 1: This is this is what you envisioned. And I walked
- 8:13Speaker 1: outside and in the parking lot was a convertible Lexus
- 8:17Speaker 1: coop and the brother got out of He was clean, right,
- 8:20Speaker 1: That's like what Sean and I was like, is that
- 8:21Speaker 1: Rashawn mcdonne stopping. He was clean, And right next to
- 8:26Speaker 1: him this brother pulled up in a back home and
- 8:30Speaker 1: in his overalls and his boots, and he got out
- 8:32Speaker 1: and he stood writing line with that brother that was
- 8:35Speaker 1: in that our money. So now it's like that's the
- 8:37Speaker 1: breakfast club. Absolutely, But you know, it's really tragic how
- 8:41Speaker 1: people will everybody each food, you know what I'm saying, Marcus,
- 8:44Speaker 1: But still they act like, you know, okau, your food
- 8:48Speaker 1: has to have a certain market, you know. I I
- 8:49Speaker 1: don't know anybody who just don't eat breakfast, you know,
- 8:52Speaker 1: I think everybody eats breakfast, you know, but when you're
- 8:54Speaker 1: African American mayor walking in there, you must be just
- 8:58Speaker 1: targeting black people, Okay, And then once you say that,
- 9:01Speaker 1: then they're gonna trap you even more because they're gonna
- 9:04Speaker 1: tell you how much you they think you can make it.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Once you say you just targeted, I marketed, they don't value.
- 9:09Speaker 1: So that's always smart to hear that on this show,
- 9:12Speaker 1: and coming from a person who said, no, I my
- 9:15Speaker 1: brand and my customer base will be everybody if you
- 9:18Speaker 1: hold on to that dream and don't let anybody just
- 9:21Speaker 1: do your dream. That's why I say up top, don't
- 9:23Speaker 1: let nobody alter your dreams and your plans. You know,
- 9:28Speaker 1: so going I started this thing off talking about bitch
- 9:30Speaker 1: and a couple of concepts. I want to make sure
- 9:32Speaker 1: that we worked through today. Brother. You know, I'm a
- 9:35Speaker 1: son and grandson and great grandson of Baptist preachers, so
- 9:37Speaker 1: I have I have my points, right, I got my
- 9:39Speaker 1: not absolutely, I love it. You know. When you called me,
- 9:42Speaker 1: said rich Shot that we're talking Mark David based and
- 9:45Speaker 1: used to Texas. So you get part great breakface and
- 9:48Speaker 1: part motivation depending on what day you get him. When
- 9:50Speaker 1: he called me to shop, you said the twenty years
- 9:53Speaker 1: is coming up. I can come back. I said, Marcus,
- 9:56Speaker 1: you don't have to push this conversation when you want
- 9:58Speaker 1: to come on, so get the preacher brother. And and
- 10:01Speaker 1: here's why I thought that was important. Man, When I
- 10:02Speaker 1: when I started this business, when I started working on
- 10:05Speaker 1: the plan, I ran into all the statistics, right, all
- 10:07Speaker 1: the statistics that see it restaurants has the highest failure
- 10:11Speaker 1: rate along along with clubs and bars. Right. Uh, it's
- 10:14Speaker 1: a miracle to make it pass the first twelve months.
- 10:16Speaker 1: It's a miracle to make it past twenty four months.
- 10:18Speaker 1: If you hit five years, you're doing something miraculous. And
- 10:21Speaker 1: here we are four times that, sitting on our twenty
- 10:25Speaker 1: year anniversary, twenty years of inspiring entrepreneurship in the city
- 10:29Speaker 1: of Houston. And that's a testament to a number of concepts.
- 10:32Speaker 1: And that starts with the first thing that you said
- 10:34Speaker 1: opening was vision right and believing whole hardening who you
- 10:37Speaker 1: are and what you've been called and created to be,
- 10:40Speaker 1: and not letting anybody deter you, because absolutely positively, folks
- 10:45Speaker 1: will try to deter you. Now, it's not out of anything.
- 10:48Speaker 1: And I'm not big on this hater thing and people
- 10:51Speaker 1: hating on you and stuff like that. What I am
- 10:53Speaker 1: big on is understanding why they don't agree with you
- 10:57Speaker 1: or why they don't see what you see. Your vision
- 11:01Speaker 1: that was gave to you, that was given to you,
- 11:03Speaker 1: was only given to you. The Creator made it, Taylor
- 11:07Speaker 1: made specifically for you, and it is not and it
- 11:12Speaker 1: has not been exposed to the rest of the earth
- 11:16Speaker 1: because you're the one responsible for developing it. You're the
- 11:20Speaker 1: one responsible for going into the dark room, taking that
- 11:23Speaker 1: negative and turning into a positive. I know, I'm speaking
- 11:26Speaker 1: foreign language because we don't develop a lot of feeling anymore,
- 11:29Speaker 1: but you get the concept right, that picture that the
- 11:32Speaker 1: creator gave to you. You are the person responsible for
- 11:35Speaker 1: going into the dark room and developing it. So the
- 11:38Speaker 1: people that that that don't say a man in your corner,
- 11:41Speaker 1: the people that do not agree with you, the people
- 11:43Speaker 1: that are not backing you up, it's not because they
- 11:45Speaker 1: have any ill will. It's because they haven't gotten the
- 11:48Speaker 1: picture that you're responsible for painting. And that's the most
- 11:51Speaker 1: important thing is that you have to be willing to
- 11:54Speaker 1: understand that it all from fall back on you. So
- 11:57Speaker 1: a lot of people, when they have their dream, they
- 11:59Speaker 1: want people to or sorry for him when they're doing bad,
- 12:01Speaker 1: and they want to be excited for them when they're
- 12:03Speaker 1: feeling good. I keep a medium roll in my whole
- 12:06Speaker 1: approach to life. And plus I don't try to share
- 12:09Speaker 1: too much excitement. And I never share failure because sharing
- 12:13Speaker 1: failure with somebody when they feel you're supposed to be successful,
- 12:15Speaker 1: will only create doubt in your circle. And so that
- 12:19Speaker 1: is what happened a lot during the pandemic, because we
- 12:22Speaker 1: had a year Twitter where there was nothing but doubt,
- 12:24Speaker 1: there's nothing but uncertainty. They shut down your business, like
- 12:27Speaker 1: all businesses around this country for two months. How did
- 12:30Speaker 1: you come out of that with the same enthusiasm that
- 12:34Speaker 1: that that natural enthusiasm I see all the time, and
- 12:37Speaker 1: you for your business to breakfast club that was your
- 12:39Speaker 1: primary business, of course, but how did you survive? So
- 12:44Speaker 1: you know, it was only one of the things that
- 12:45Speaker 1: I'm grateful for. There's a there's a thing going around
- 12:47Speaker 1: on social media and and and it's interests and said
- 12:50Speaker 1: I I asked for courage, so I was giving things
- 12:52Speaker 1: that would frighten me in order to develop the courage.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I asked for uh strengths, so I was giving heavy
- 12:58Speaker 1: weight to carry in order to make me stronger. I
- 13:00Speaker 1: don't know where it came from, but I thought it was.
- 13:02Speaker 1: It was, it was pretty elegant. The reality of it
- 13:05Speaker 1: is the Breakfast Club. Not only we celebrating twenty years
- 13:09Speaker 1: in business, two decades of inspiring entrepreneurship on the corner
- 13:12Speaker 1: of Travis and Alabama, but we are also proving what
- 13:15Speaker 1: it means to be battle tested. Right. The pandemic was significant, right.
- 13:20Speaker 1: It was a very significant, spectacular event and and detrimental
- 13:24Speaker 1: to a lot of businesses. One of the things that
- 13:26Speaker 1: I am grateful for is that it was not our
- 13:29Speaker 1: first rodeo was at our first pandemic, of course, but
- 13:32Speaker 1: we opened this business underpression. We opened this business when
- 13:36Speaker 1: the streets we wanted construction. We opened this business on
- 13:39Speaker 1: the heels of Hurricane Allison, which hit our building before
- 13:42Speaker 1: we got to serve sale one grid. We opened this
- 13:46Speaker 1: business when Hurricane I was here and Hurricane Harvey came through.
- 13:51Speaker 1: We opened this business and in ruin crashed. We opened
- 13:54Speaker 1: two weeks before UH nine eleven hit, which was a
- 13:57Speaker 1: big deal because because downtowns in a lot of it
- 14:00Speaker 1: is took a decline because folks are scared to go
- 14:02Speaker 1: into work if you work in a major metropolitan city.
- 14:05Speaker 1: So we on the on the heels of in run
- 14:08Speaker 1: crashing uh nine eleven happening, Uh, Alison. Then I then
- 14:16Speaker 1: you had that little thing in two thousand and seven
- 14:18Speaker 1: where gas was sky high. Yeah, the other thing where
- 14:20Speaker 1: food jumped up two thousand seven, two thousand and eight,
- 14:23Speaker 1: bringing in the recession where folks are getting laid off
- 14:26Speaker 1: left and right. Uh. You move on down to Hurricane
- 14:30Speaker 1: Ike where we were closed for five whole days, and
- 14:33Speaker 1: then Hurricane Harvy. We are battle tested at thirty seven eleven, Travis,
- 14:37Speaker 1: and that's what prepared us for what came forward in one.
- 14:41Speaker 1: We've been through the Royal rain, We've been through the storm,
- 14:45Speaker 1: and my team, uh, we we've developed a certain amount
- 14:48Speaker 1: of diligence where we can perform under the pressure. Our
- 14:52Speaker 1: metal has been tested. I'm so grateful uh that we
- 14:55Speaker 1: that that we had the ability to uh to perform,
- 14:57Speaker 1: and I'm extremely grateful. Catch the is that the community
- 15:02Speaker 1: right uh saw fit to sustain us during that time.
- 15:08Speaker 1: And that's what good will would do for you. After
- 15:10Speaker 1: you do good and writing just by the people, then prayerfully,
- 15:13Speaker 1: most times off times they will respond, they will. And
- 15:17Speaker 1: I'm fortunate that the people responded uh to what we
- 15:20Speaker 1: needed them to respond to. But let's just change something
- 15:24Speaker 1: about Marcus Davis and his his personality, his willingness to
- 15:28Speaker 1: answer the call for promotional opportunities. You know, when I
- 15:32Speaker 1: just Steve harvest Shaw owned National Syndication called Marcus, he
- 15:36Speaker 1: didn't like, go let me think about it, what time?
- 15:40Speaker 1: What do you want me there? Because he you understood
- 15:42Speaker 1: the value of the moment and a lot of people
- 15:45Speaker 1: understand the value of the moment. But more importantly about Marcus,
- 15:48Speaker 1: he knows how to take up possitively advantage of that moment.
- 15:52Speaker 1: And that's really I'm not saying that's one of the
- 15:55Speaker 1: rememberable moments in your business, but you have a lot
- 15:58Speaker 1: of them in there, like with Oprah, Steve Harvey's talk
- 16:01Speaker 1: about how you and let me just tell y'all strategically,
- 16:05Speaker 1: I may have asked him to come on to Steve
- 16:07Speaker 1: Harvey talk show, but he had a strategy as to
- 16:10Speaker 1: why he was coming. My correct, Marcus, But I mean,
- 16:13Speaker 1: you're you're absolutely correct. And I know this is I
- 16:17Speaker 1: know this sounds a little far um, but there was
- 16:21Speaker 1: a time where you didn't have the world at the
- 16:24Speaker 1: touch of a button. That was a time when you
- 16:25Speaker 1: didn't have the East Coast and the West Coast available
- 16:30Speaker 1: to you via Twitter, re Instagram, their Facebook. That was
- 16:34Speaker 1: a time where you had to bust your butt in
- 16:37Speaker 1: order to get that type of recognition, and you had
- 16:39Speaker 1: to also be lucky, uh as a result of the
- 16:44Speaker 1: good work that you've done, right, So the hard work
- 16:46Speaker 1: that we put in, uh, combined with relationships that we
- 16:50Speaker 1: had built, uh allowed us to have opportunities where someone
- 16:55Speaker 1: like yourself did pick up the telephone and say here
- 16:58Speaker 1: we go. Yeah, it was it was, It was all
- 17:02Speaker 1: right real quick. So at the time they had this
- 17:05Speaker 1: morning show on on radio, was the time John the
- 17:08Speaker 1: Morning right now? That that was I don't were you
- 17:13Speaker 1: in radio then, because it's a one or two point one? Yeah? Yeah, so,
- 17:18Speaker 1: uh the time Join the Morning Show. And I sat
- 17:22Speaker 1: there and thought, Man, how in the heck am I
- 17:23Speaker 1: gonna get on the tom join the morning Show. I
- 17:25Speaker 1: ain't got to them joining the money, right. I know,
- 17:28Speaker 1: I can't run national advertise, right, I don't have Twitter
- 17:31Speaker 1: and I don't have i G so I can't push
- 17:33Speaker 1: these buttons. So I came up with this idea, and um,
- 17:38Speaker 1: the idea was to go buy a hundred to Neon
- 17:40Speaker 1: Bright Neon shirts and to pass them out to a
- 17:44Speaker 1: hundred of two people standing in line and tell them
- 17:47Speaker 1: to wear that shirt. And if I see you wearing

- 17:53Speaker 1: two of those folks lined up in front of the
- 17:55Speaker 1: Breakfast Club after that show, and then your boy j
- 17:58Speaker 1: Anthony came through and they start mentioning this on on
- 18:02Speaker 1: on the show, and Tom start mentions on the show,
- 18:04Speaker 1: and then I was like hot, damn rashun and called

- 20:16Speaker 1: This is Rushan McDonald. Welcome back to money making Conversations
- 20:20Speaker 1: as I continue my conversation with restaurant tour motivational speaker,
- 20:24Speaker 1: founder and CEO of the Houston based Breakfast Club restaurant,
- 20:29Speaker 1: Marcus Davis. See strategy, I always tell you you haven't
- 20:33Speaker 1: have a strategy, but you gotta have the product and
- 20:35Speaker 1: you gotta have the service. Okay, So so when you
- 20:38Speaker 1: come there now, it might be a lie. Guess what,
- 20:41Speaker 1: that's what I have a proper you're popular, but they
- 20:43Speaker 1: friendly as soon as they see you. Soon as you're
- 20:45Speaker 1: coming that door, air conditioning, work the menu and they
- 20:49Speaker 1: all go and go, hey, we don't have that on
- 20:51Speaker 1: the menu today, not not not at the Breakfast Club.
- 20:54Speaker 1: If it's on the menu, they got it and it
- 20:57Speaker 1: served quick because because black restaurants get because we have
- 21:00Speaker 1: to say that too. You know, black restaurants can't get
- 21:03Speaker 1: a bad restaurant, and our Black people will carry bad
- 21:07Speaker 1: news faster than good news. And so now let me
- 21:11Speaker 1: let me, let me, let me put a pin in
- 21:12Speaker 1: that because I have I have to say this right,
- 21:15Speaker 1: and I'm not stating what you're saying is is untrue.
- 21:17Speaker 1: It's absolutely true. But it's also true of none black restaurants.
- 21:20Speaker 1: So I went to a restaurant. I went to a
- 21:22Speaker 1: restaurant the other day that was none black. Owner was
- 21:24Speaker 1: right on and it's made the chain and out of
- 21:27Speaker 1: a things on the menu they didn't have, they only
- 21:29Speaker 1: had three of them. Right. But we're conditioned to believe
- 21:33Speaker 1: a certain thing about our businesses. That's a condition to
- 21:37Speaker 1: believe about the other uh business all. All I'm saying
- 21:41Speaker 1: is we gotta keep that same energy. So when Popeyes
- 21:43Speaker 1: tell you they ain't got uh no more chicken, then
- 21:46Speaker 1: you know we gotta keep you know, it's terminal terminal
- 21:50Speaker 1: a where you were on hold? Can I can I
- 21:53Speaker 1: go back to somebody say, because I don't want to
- 21:54Speaker 1: miss it. You mentioned you mentioned about the product, right,
- 21:58Speaker 1: you you mentioned about having the product getting in that
- 22:02Speaker 1: space where people make the calls and you get some
- 22:04Speaker 1: national recognitions one thing. But having the product to get
- 22:07Speaker 1: you there is a whole another thing. And the three
- 22:11Speaker 1: things that that that I share with my team from
- 22:13Speaker 1: day one, these are my my key principles for success.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Quality product, quality service, all the time. Quality product, quality service,
- 22:22Speaker 1: and do it every freaking time you unlock that do
- 22:26Speaker 1: that's not the same. Mistakes are not gonna happen. But
- 22:28Speaker 1: your goal, your mission, should be to make sure that
- 22:32Speaker 1: every time you unlock the door, you deliver the quality
- 22:35Speaker 1: product through the hands of great people. And you're doing
- 22:38Speaker 1: it each and every single time. Now, why is that important?
- 22:43Speaker 1: Because if folks come to the breakfast club today and
- 22:47Speaker 1: they go out and tell their mom and them and
- 22:48Speaker 1: their cousin them and niece and them, when leedsing them
- 22:51Speaker 1: come needing them, are gonna be expecting the same grits
- 22:53Speaker 1: that they got that there. You know that they aren't
- 22:56Speaker 1: told them around or that they got last time. And
- 22:58Speaker 1: so you have to be able to deliver those things.
- 23:00Speaker 1: When I say quality product, whether that there is an attempt,
- 23:05Speaker 1: there's a temptation right to want to change and move
- 23:08Speaker 1: things around just because somebody come to you and tell you, hey, man,
- 23:11Speaker 1: I can beat you some cheaper, cheaper wings, and that
- 23:13Speaker 1: are they the same size, are they the same quality
- 23:16Speaker 1: of meat? Right? And will they be consistent? Those three
- 23:19Speaker 1: things are important to me before I before I jumped
- 23:22Speaker 1: to price, because price is one side of it. But
- 23:25Speaker 1: if you've given me eight ounces wings one day and
- 23:27Speaker 1: two ounce squeens the next day, I can't deliver that
- 23:30Speaker 1: to my guests. If you're delivering me, you know, high
- 23:33Speaker 1: quality wings one day, or catfish one day and low
- 23:35Speaker 1: quality catfish another day, I can't deliver that to my guests.
- 23:38Speaker 1: You have to stay consistent in the quality that your
- 23:42Speaker 1: guests deserved. That's important that you say that because, uh,
- 23:45Speaker 1: you know, twenty years the quality product, quality of service
- 23:48Speaker 1: all the time, all the time. Consistency. Construction I got
- 23:52Speaker 1: day behind consistency. I forgot about that street construction on Maine. Man,
- 23:55Speaker 1: that was that was a terror. Man, when you was
- 23:57Speaker 1: dealing with that, you know, you know, look, look people,
- 24:03Speaker 1: you know that was a big deal back in there, right,
- 24:04Speaker 1: How are you surviving under construction? Man? We went in
- 24:08Speaker 1: knowing construction was coming, right, you know, I pulled the
- 24:11Speaker 1: Bernie on it. I was like, I ain't scared no construction.
- 24:14Speaker 1: That don't face me, right, I look, I looked forward
- 24:18Speaker 1: to the future, not the president tents. And what was
- 24:21Speaker 1: the future? Yeah, they told main because they were building
- 24:24Speaker 1: the rail. The future was that was gonna be a rail.
- 24:27Speaker 1: That's there. You get what I'm saying. You know, they
- 24:29Speaker 1: plowed Travis because they wanted to widen the street. I
- 24:32Speaker 1: could have looked and said, I can't go on Travis
- 24:34Speaker 1: because they're tearing the street up. The future was you're
- 24:36Speaker 1: gonna have a wider uh lane where you're gonna have
- 24:39Speaker 1: a wider street, more lanes with no potholes. You gotta
- 24:43Speaker 1: look forward to the bigger picture and be willing to
- 24:46Speaker 1: take the sacrifice at the beginning or somewhere in between.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Now with all this great product, you know, you know, man,
- 24:53Speaker 1: you know you're killing that man. You need to be
- 24:55Speaker 1: cooking something looking at you know, like you know, first
- 24:58Speaker 1: of all, you know you know wife, you know she
- 25:00Speaker 1: likes to bake everything. Now you know so, and I'm
- 25:03Speaker 1: just tell you something. It say it's fried on the back.
- 25:06Speaker 1: It works great, baked because I hit I hit it
- 25:10Speaker 1: with some of mine. You know that some orl and
- 25:14Speaker 1: then put it on four hundred degrees. See, I would
- 25:16Speaker 1: tell you something. Man, what you're not gonna do is
- 25:18Speaker 1: stop me from eating great food. This is great seeds,
- 25:21Speaker 1: real simple, you know, put it, put it in that
- 25:23Speaker 1: or or you want to put butter on it, drop
- 25:25Speaker 1: it in there and put it in four hundred degrees.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Then spray. That's what I'm saying. Spread with that olive.
- 25:32Speaker 1: I can look hands, spray, code it four hundred degrees,
- 25:37Speaker 1: and by forty minutes later, bam, it's outstanding. This is
- 25:41Speaker 1: what I said to y'all. He see he just got fried,
- 25:45Speaker 1: old school fried. Back here. I'm talking about young cat
- 25:47Speaker 1: right here. I baked all this great stuff, great chicken,
- 25:52Speaker 1: great fish. All that is beautiful. I put my I
- 25:54Speaker 1: put my season right here on my beans. That's why
- 25:57Speaker 1: I just love it. Because see, I would after myself
- 26:00Speaker 1: the other day because my wife wants sound that. She
- 26:02Speaker 1: was at the office and I made some beans, some
- 26:03Speaker 1: red beans, and I made some corn bread. He s's
- 26:06Speaker 1: what you put like? She said. She's a perfect clue.
- 26:08Speaker 1: She said, it's that that place he used to. I said, yeah,
- 26:10Speaker 1: she said, poor you get everything. I said, that's my boy, Marcus. Seriously,
- 26:14Speaker 1: I use your stuff. And she asked me what I
- 26:16Speaker 1: put in it because she's she's now she'sn't like meat
- 26:18Speaker 1: in her beans anymore. So I just put this in here.
- 26:21Speaker 1: You know, I throw a little hallapeenions in there, you know,
- 26:24Speaker 1: pickle hallerpeen. It's a little stanger in there, and brother outstanding.
- 26:28Speaker 1: But you make a great product. You make a great
- 26:30Speaker 1: service to your customers. One other things you got on
- 26:33Speaker 1: Horizon right quick Markets before we close it out. Man,
- 26:36Speaker 1: we got all the great things that we've been doing
- 26:39Speaker 1: for the last two years, we're gonna continue to do them.
- 26:41Speaker 1: We got we got a food truck coming out, so
- 26:43Speaker 1: stay tuned for that. We're working on a day of
- 26:47Speaker 1: inspiration where we're going to do our best to inspire
- 26:50Speaker 1: Houstonians with local Uh Eustone with Eustonians. Right, Eustonians, inspiring Eustonians.
- 26:57Speaker 1: I had to get that out grid tacking my teeth.
- 26:59Speaker 1: But look what I'm saying, uh and and and more. Man,
- 27:03Speaker 1: When when a food truck comes out, we're gonna put
- 27:05Speaker 1: that bad ball on the road. We're gonna go on
- 27:06Speaker 1: a little tour. I might even stop in your seat. Well,
- 27:09Speaker 1: first of all, just let me know something, come get
- 27:11Speaker 1: it because I love good food. I'm gonna tell you, Marcus,
- 27:14Speaker 1: I do just this side of love it. I love
