- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:01Speaker 2: It is Verdict with Ted Cruz Weekend Review. Ben Ferguson
- 0:05Speaker 2: with you, and these are the stories that you may
- 0:06Speaker 2: have missed that we talked about this week. First up center,
- 0:10Speaker 2: Ted Cruz was on the ground at Camp Mystic. What
- 0:13Speaker 2: did he see and what did he learn about the
- 0:16Speaker 2: flooding and the recovery efforts. Also a massive rise in
- 0:21Speaker 2: threats and attacks on ICE agents. Who's to blame? Could
- 0:25Speaker 2: it be the leadership of the Democratic Party. We've got
- 0:28Speaker 2: their quotes and you can decide. And finally, the FBI
- 0:33Speaker 2: has opened investigations into John Brenham and James Comby. The
- 0:37Speaker 2: deep state that was in charge of trying to overthrow
- 0:40Speaker 2: the will of the voters to get rid of Donald
- 0:42Speaker 2: Trump now may be finally out accountable for their actions.
- 0:46Speaker 2: It's the week in Review and it starts right now.
- 0:50Speaker 1: But I'll tell you, Ben, the most difficult thing I
- 0:51Speaker 1: did today, it is I went to Camp Mystic and
- 0:56Speaker 1: I went and walked to the grounds at Camp Mystic,
- 0:59Speaker 1: and I think it may be the most horrifying thing
- 1:04Speaker 1: I've ever seen in my life. You walk through and
- 1:09Speaker 1: actually as you walk through the river was calm and
- 1:13Speaker 1: peaceful and beautiful. But it rose, and it rose suddenly.
- 1:21Speaker 1: And I will say the press, I think, has been
- 1:25Speaker 1: less than clear and honest about how camp Mystic is
- 1:29Speaker 1: it is set up, because they've described it as saying, well,
- 1:32Speaker 1: the camps for the cabins for the young girls were
- 1:35Speaker 1: down by the river bank and all of the other
- 1:37Speaker 1: cabins were up high. That's not accurate. And walking the grounds,
- 1:43Speaker 1: the cabins are all hundreds of yards removed from the
- 1:47Speaker 1: river bank. There's a lot of distance between the river
- 1:49Speaker 1: and where the cabin is, and the cabins are all
- 1:52Speaker 1: about the same elevation. There's some differences but not massive
- 1:55Speaker 1: differences in elevation between the cabins at Mystic. And I
- 2:01Speaker 1: was talking with one of the longtime employees there who
- 2:05Speaker 1: said there had been a flood decades before and it
- 2:08Speaker 1: had gotten up, It had gotten up and crossed a
- 2:11Speaker 1: little bit of the ground, and it had come to
- 2:13Speaker 1: sort of the foundation of one of the buildings that
- 2:17Speaker 1: was not a cabin, but one of the buildings closer
- 2:19Speaker 1: to the river. But it had never gotten close to
- 2:21Speaker 1: the cabins. So that's one thing to understand. People say, well, gosh,
- 2:24Speaker 1: this is prone to floods. Yes, but in the one
- 2:29Speaker 1: hundred years of Camp Missic, there'd never been a flood
- 2:31Speaker 1: where the water had gotten to the cabins. And in
- 2:34Speaker 1: this case, the water was eight feet deep in the cabins.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Walking through and every building you could see the water line,
- 2:44Speaker 1: you could see the water line outside the buildings, and
- 2:48Speaker 1: it was eight feet deep. And in the cabins the
- 2:52Speaker 1: water shattered the windows, it swept the furniture out. You
- 2:56Speaker 1: looked in the cabins and every one of the cabins,
- 2:59Speaker 1: the furniture had been swept out. The windows were all shattered.
- 3:05Speaker 1: And I got to tell you, look, there was one cabin,
- 3:13Speaker 1: it's called the bubble in, and it's a cabin at
- 3:18Speaker 1: Missed It where the youngest girls were. And outside the
- 3:23Speaker 1: bubble in were sixteen white crosses, and on each one
- 3:30Speaker 1: of those was the name of a little girl, and
- 3:35Speaker 1: their names that we've read in the paper, their names
- 3:39Speaker 1: of little seven and eight year old girls, third graders
- 3:44Speaker 1: who lost their lives when one of the crosses was
- 3:47Speaker 1: for Dick Eastland, the camp director who drowned trying to
- 3:52Speaker 1: save the girls' lives. And he had spent he graduated
- 3:56Speaker 1: from ut fifty years ago and had spent fifty years
- 3:59Speaker 1: of his life running this camp for girls, and he
- 4:03Speaker 1: was in his suburban. They showed me where he drowned.
- 4:05Speaker 1: It was a couple of hundred yards from where I
- 4:07Speaker 1: was standing. In the river. He was trying to save
- 4:08Speaker 1: the girls in the water swept him away and he drowned.
- 4:11Speaker 1: And the sixteen crosses reading those names. Two of those
- 4:19Speaker 1: little girls go to school with my daughter. There are
- 4:26Speaker 1: third graders at our school. The parents of one of
- 4:30Speaker 1: those little girls lives a block away from me. And
- 4:39Speaker 1: I'll tell you, I just knelt and wept. There were
- 4:48Speaker 1: families there. Ben There was a mom and dad who
- 4:56Speaker 1: was kneeling in front of those crosses, and they were kissing,
- 5:04Speaker 1: kissing the cross and I stood back. I didn't want
- 5:08Speaker 1: to interrupt their grieving, but just watching them. The mom
- 5:15Speaker 1: came to that cabin, the bubble in and she just
- 5:20Speaker 1: broke down in tears. In front of every cabin, there
- 5:27Speaker 1: were the children's belongings. There were trunks, there were electric fans,
- 5:34Speaker 1: There were slippers and flip flops and crocs. There were
- 5:41Speaker 1: teddy bears, there were stuffed animals everywhere. These are little girls,
- 5:46Speaker 1: and many of them have their names on them. And
- 5:50Speaker 1: there were moms and dads picking through the rubble looking
- 5:57Speaker 1: for their girls belongings, and I I don't know which
- 6:02Speaker 1: of those moms and dads lost a daughter. We know
- 6:07Speaker 1: of twenty seven who were lost, and there may be more.
- 6:12Speaker 1: There are eleven that are missing. And there were girls
- 6:18Speaker 1: picking through the rubble. I don't know if those girls
- 6:21Speaker 1: were campers themselves who had survived. I don't know if
- 6:25Speaker 1: they're siblings who had lost a sibling. But everyone is
- 6:29Speaker 1: walking around. Shell shock doesn't begin to describe it. They're
- 6:36Speaker 1: up on the field. There was a field that was
- 6:40Speaker 1: basically a parking lot for the cars of counselors, and
- 6:46Speaker 1: the waters had thrown the cars on top of each other.
- 6:50Speaker 1: It's like they were matchbox cars, just flipped over. You
- 6:53Speaker 1: saw car after car after cars stacked on each other,
- 6:56Speaker 1: flipped on its side, flipped the over, tossed around the
- 7:01Speaker 1: dining hall. An entire wall of the dining hall had
- 7:06Speaker 1: been ripped off. They had heavy wooden tables that filled
- 7:10Speaker 1: the dining hall. Every one of them had been pulled
- 7:12Speaker 1: out in the bubble, in which is where a large
- 7:17Speaker 1: percentage of the fatalities occurred. The water swept in and
- 7:23Speaker 1: just pulled those girls out the windows. It seeing that
- 7:33Speaker 1: and I saw it first from the helicopter and you
- 7:36Speaker 1: could see all their belongings spread out. But then standing
- 7:39Speaker 1: there and reviewing it from the perspective of a dad.
- 7:48Speaker 1: You know, I have helped my daughters pack their trunks.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I've you know, can't pick up every year you go
- 7:57Speaker 1: and pick up your daughter's trunk and it's a joyful time.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Our state is more mourning right now, Ben.
- 8:11Speaker 3: I tell you, for everyone listening and I say this,
- 8:16Speaker 3: just pray for the people that are affected. Pray for
- 8:18Speaker 3: the people in Texas. Pray for the families who are
- 8:24Speaker 3: still without their their loved ones. They're still trying to
- 8:26Speaker 3: find them. Pray for the moms and the dads who
- 8:30Speaker 3: are planning the funerals as we know people personally that
- 8:34Speaker 3: are doing that and getting ready for that this week.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Pray for the moms. God, please pray for the moms. Yes,
- 8:41Speaker 3: and anything you can do to help with all of that.
- 8:43Speaker 3: There's so many different groups that are helping the people,
- 8:46Speaker 3: and Comfort and Kirk County and and and there are
- 8:50Speaker 3: people that need help. And we focus so much on
- 8:52Speaker 3: the kids, but there's a lot of elderly people that
- 8:54Speaker 3: have been affected by this. There are a lot of
- 8:56Speaker 3: people that lost their lives and all their belongings, and
- 9:00Speaker 3: and and help any way you can with with all
- 9:04Speaker 3: of the nonprofits that are getting involved, that are that
- 9:06Speaker 3: are doing this, and and we're going to keep you updated.
- 9:10Speaker 1: But I would just say, and Ben, I want to say, Ben,
- 9:15Speaker 1: I want to say three more things of encouragement. So
- 9:20Speaker 1: in Hunt there's a store that's kind of a focal point.
- 9:23Speaker 1: It's called the Hunt Store, and and it's right at
- 9:26Speaker 1: the junction of two of the highways. You go up
- 9:29Speaker 1: one highway to go to one of the big camps,
- 9:31Speaker 1: you go up another highway to go up to Mystic
- 9:32Speaker 1: in Lahunta, and actually Hunta's right across the street from
- 9:35Speaker 1: the Hunt Store. The Hunt Store the flooded, the flood
- 9:40Speaker 1: utterly gutted it. It's it's just ripped out in a
- 9:43Speaker 1: hollow shell. I went and stopped at the Hunt Store
- 9:47Speaker 1: and just just visited people who were there gathering there.
- 9:51Speaker 1: And they'd actually changed the sign where it said Hunt
- 9:53Speaker 1: Store and instead of Hunt Store, they change the sign
- 9:57Speaker 1: to read Hunt Strong. And you know, Heidi and Catherine
- 10:05Speaker 1: were at the Hunt Store last week. I mean, it's
- 10:11Speaker 1: I've been there dozens of times. The owners were there.
- 10:15Speaker 1: I just hugged them and they were just like residents
- 10:18Speaker 1: there who were just there mourning and grieving. And I'll
- 10:22Speaker 1: tell you there was set up. There was a giant
- 10:24Speaker 1: barbecue truck, all right. So this is a story that
- 10:27Speaker 1: is amazing that you're gonna like. It's a barbecue truck
- 10:30Speaker 1: from Rockport. Rockport is a town down on the Gulf Coast,
- 10:35Speaker 1: and Rockport when Hurricane Harvey hit, it devastated the Gulf
- 10:40Speaker 1: Coast from from deep East Texas to south all the
- 10:45Speaker 1: way really to Corpus Christie. So that's a lot of
- 10:47Speaker 1: and Rockport is right in there. It's by Port Ramsas
- 10:50Speaker 1: and MS Pass and Rockport was devastated by Hurricane Harvey. Well,
- 10:55Speaker 1: these guys, and these are big old Texans with big
- 10:58Speaker 1: old beards. They look like z the top. And they said, well,
- 11:04Speaker 1: you know when when Hurricane Harvey hit, there was a
- 11:07Speaker 1: group from Hunt, Texas, little town in the in the
- 11:10Speaker 1: hill country that came down to Rockport and set up
- 11:13Speaker 1: a food truck and fed us when we had lost
- 11:15Speaker 1: our homes. And so they got in a truck and
- 11:18Speaker 1: drove up this giant smoker and griller and they were
- 11:22Speaker 1: just giving away free barbecue. And one of the things
- 11:27Speaker 1: that's really cool. I was at in Rockport several times
- 11:31Speaker 1: after Hurricane Harven. I was in all the towns up
- 11:34Speaker 1: and down the Gulf Coast, but I was at that
- 11:37Speaker 1: those food trucks. So I don't recall visiting with someone
- 11:41Speaker 1: and hearing that they were from Hunt down in Rockport,
- 11:43Speaker 1: but you know what, in Rockport, they remembered that. And
- 11:46Speaker 1: that's something we see happening, just Texans coming together. The
- 11:52Speaker 1: Cajun Navy from Louisiana came and and we're there helping
- 11:55Speaker 1: people out. That was incredible, And I just had chance.
- 12:01Speaker 1: I visited with a family, one dad who introduced me
- 12:05Speaker 1: to two little boys, and he said both of them
- 12:10Speaker 1: lost some of their closest friends in the flood, and
- 12:14Speaker 1: I just I said, you know, little kids, and they're
- 12:17Speaker 1: not much older than your boys. They shouldn't have to
- 12:21Speaker 1: deal with death and loss at that age. But I'll
- 12:26Speaker 1: tell you, in that same parking lot at the Hunt store,
- 12:30Speaker 1: there was a car that had written on the back
- 12:33Speaker 1: of it a Bible verse written in like shaving cream
- 12:36Speaker 1: on the back window, and it was Isaiah forty three
- 12:40Speaker 1: too that says, when you go through deep water, I
- 12:47Speaker 1: will be with you. And then that is Look, you
- 12:54Speaker 1: just asked folks to pray. Let me just underscore that
- 12:59Speaker 1: for the moms and dads who have a yearning, gaping
- 13:03Speaker 1: hole in their heart, I think there is no pain,
- 13:06Speaker 1: no agony like losing a child, and nothing will ever
- 13:11Speaker 1: fill that hole. That pain will never go away. But
- 13:15Speaker 1: they need love, they need support, they need friends, they
- 13:18Speaker 1: need families to hug them, to hold them tight, to
- 13:22Speaker 1: just give them a shoulder to cry on and to
- 13:25Speaker 1: hold them up. And I got to tell you, this
- 13:27Speaker 1: is a time for the church. One of the reasons
- 13:30Speaker 1: Texas I think we are so resilient when facing natural
- 13:34Speaker 1: disasters is because the church is strong in Texas and
- 13:37Speaker 1: you see, you see church a step. I started the
- 13:40Speaker 1: day actually by visiting with a number of chaplains who, look,
- 13:44Speaker 1: you want to talk about it was brutal on the
- 13:46Speaker 1: chaplains when you're dealing with moms and dads who've lost
- 13:49Speaker 1: their kids and they're just weeping. Even a chaplain of
- 13:54Speaker 1: a man or women of strong faith, I mean it
- 13:56Speaker 1: rips your heart out to be with a parent and
- 14:00Speaker 1: who's lost a seven or eight year old daughter, and
- 14:05Speaker 1: right down from the Hunt store, there was a church
- 14:08Speaker 1: that had a big sign free barbecue, lunch, and dinner.
- 14:13Speaker 1: All are welcome. And that's what the church should be doing,
- 14:15Speaker 1: is helping and clothing and comforting and taking care of
- 14:18Speaker 1: the needy, and that the church should always be doing that,
- 14:22Speaker 1: but especially in time of crisis.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 14:28Speaker 2: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 14:30Speaker 2: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two, Sinata,
- 14:35Speaker 2: I want to move to another big story, and that
- 14:37Speaker 2: is the rising threat that has just become oh so
- 14:41Speaker 2: real with federal law enforcement, and there was a shooter
- 14:45Speaker 2: that ambushed Texas Border Patrol agents. Words from elected officials,
- 14:52Speaker 2: in my opinion, have major influence but also consequence. We
- 14:58Speaker 2: have seen time and time again right now Democrats coming
- 15:02Speaker 2: out and saying that Ice are evil, stand up to Ice,
- 15:06Speaker 2: fight Ice. These are words coming from so many Democrats
- 15:10Speaker 2: that are actually elected to office.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Well, listen, as you noted, words have consequence, and we
- 15:16Speaker 1: have seen an awful lot of democrats. We have seen
- 15:18Speaker 1: the corporate media denounce Ice, called them Nazis, call them
- 15:22Speaker 1: them goose stepping fascists, and unfortunately that rhetoric fuels a rage.
- 15:27Speaker 1: It fuels a rage that that that we have seen
- 15:31Speaker 1: manifesting in violence over and over again leftists engaging in
- 15:36Speaker 1: active violence against ICE agents. So uh, just a few
- 15:41Speaker 1: days ago, an active shooter opened fire on ICE agents
- 15:46Speaker 1: in McCallen, Texas. And and and here here here's the
- 15:49Speaker 1: story from Fox News. Active shooter killed an attempt to
- 15:53Speaker 1: ambush Border Patrol agents in Texas. One McCallan police officer
- 15:57Speaker 1: wounded but in stable condition following a parent plan and
- 16:00Speaker 1: ambush at Rio Grand Valley facility. And here's what the
- 16:03Speaker 1: article says. An active shooter armed with tactical gear and
- 16:07Speaker 1: a rifle opened fire upon Border Patrol agents as they
- 16:10Speaker 1: arrived at a Border Patrol annex facility in McAllen, Texas
- 16:13Speaker 1: and the Rio Grand Valley on Monday. Law enforcement sources
- 16:16Speaker 1: say agents and local police returned fire and killed the gunman.
- 16:22Speaker 1: No federal agents were hit, but one McCallen police officer
- 16:26Speaker 1: was struck. Law enforcement sources say the officer is in
- 16:29Speaker 1: stable condition. Quote. This morning, an individual open fire at
- 16:34Speaker 1: the entrance of the United States Border Patrol Sector Annex
- 16:36Speaker 1: in McCallen, Texas. Both border patrol agents and local police
- 16:41Speaker 1: helped neutralize the shooter to the Department of Homeland Security,
- 16:43Speaker 1: said a statement of Fox News. This is an ongoing
- 16:46Speaker 1: investigation led by the FBI. More information will be shared
- 16:50Speaker 1: as it becomes available. Now tell you, I have walked
- 16:53Speaker 1: into and out of that Border patrol facility in McCallen,
- 16:57Speaker 1: Texas multiple times. The fact that you have violent criminals,
- 17:02Speaker 1: and this is a criminal who lost his life because
- 17:04Speaker 1: he showed up and wanted to shoot at law enforcement officials.
- 17:08Speaker 1: He was doing so. We don't know this conclusively, but
- 17:11Speaker 1: we can certainly infer that he was doing so because
- 17:15Speaker 1: he's been listening to the extreme rhetoric that these are Nazis,
- 17:18Speaker 1: and so he was like, you know what, if you've
- 17:20Speaker 1: got Nazis, let's kill the Nazis. That is the consequence
- 17:25Speaker 1: of the unhinged and deranged rhetoric on the left.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Right now, you talk about that rhetoric, let's give actual quotes.
- 17:32Speaker 2: House Minority Leader Kim Jeffries of New York said employed
- 17:36Speaker 2: people to quote fight the Trump administration in the streets
- 17:39Speaker 2: quote unquote. He also declared ice agents quote will be
- 17:43Speaker 2: unsuccessful and protecting their identities no matter what it takes,
- 17:48Speaker 2: advocating for docsing and putting their families at risk. Ice agents.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Representative Jaypow of Washington called ICE agents quote unquote deranged
- 17:57Speaker 2: and said it is quote inspiring to obstruct immigration enforcement.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Representative mc ivor of New Jersey, who was arrested in
- 18:06Speaker 2: charged with forcibly impeding and interfering with federal officers outside
- 18:11Speaker 2: Night's attention facility, incited her supporters to quote shut down
- 18:15Speaker 2: the city because we are at war quote unquote, and
- 18:19Speaker 2: even the former vice presidential candidate of the Minnesota Governor
- 18:22Speaker 2: Tim Waltz, getting in on the action, called ICE agents
- 18:26Speaker 2: the modern day Gestapo. Chicago's mayor this past week, Johnson
- 18:31Speaker 2: accused the ICE agents of being quote unquote the secret
- 18:34Speaker 2: police and quote terrorizing our communities. And you add in
- 18:39Speaker 2: Eric Swalwell of California, he said it was quote his
- 18:42Speaker 2: priority to ensure ICE agents quote are no longer faceless,
- 18:47Speaker 2: comparing them to some eighteen hundreds bank robbers or some
- 18:53Speaker 2: KGB officers in Russia. Words have consequences, and this is
- 18:59Speaker 2: the rhetoric come out from some of your colleagues in DC.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Well, and not only do they have consequences with the
- 19:05Speaker 1: armshooter who was killed in McCallan, Texas. But in North Texas,
- 19:11Speaker 1: eleven people were arrested for plotting to ambush to kill
- 19:15Speaker 1: ice correction officers, and I want to read from this
- 19:19Speaker 1: story from the Daily Wire. Quote. Eleven people have been
- 19:22Speaker 1: arrested in what law enforcement officers described as a quote
- 19:26Speaker 1: planned ambush of corrections officers at an ice detention facility
- 19:30Speaker 1: in Alvarado, Texas on July fourth. One Alvarado police officer
- 19:35Speaker 1: was shot in the neck during the attack and is
- 19:38Speaker 1: expected to survive. Quote. Early reports indicate that more than
- 19:42Speaker 1: a dozen massed individuals dressed in black arrived at the
- 19:47Speaker 1: Prairie Land Ice detention facility late Friday night and vandalized
- 19:52Speaker 1: vehicles and security cameras in the parking lots. CBS News
- 19:55Speaker 1: reported the individuals launched fireworks in an apparent effort to
- 19:59Speaker 1: lure lawn enforcement. On July fifth, Deputy Attorney General Tom
- 20:03Speaker 1: Blanche posted on x quote we are closely monitoring the
- 20:07Speaker 1: attacks on DHS facilities in Prairieland, Texas and Portland, Oregon,
- 20:11Speaker 1: and are coordinating with USAOs and our law enforcement partners.
- 20:15Speaker 1: The Department has zero tolerance for assaults on federal officers
- 20:20Speaker 1: or property and will bring the full weight of the
- 20:24Speaker 1: law against those responsible. On Monday, acting US Attorney Nancy
- 20:29Speaker 1: Larson stated quote, We're here to tell you that late
- 20:31Speaker 1: at night on July fourth, Friday night, at approximately ten
- 20:35Speaker 1: thirty seven pm, at Prairie Land Ice Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas,
- 20:39Speaker 1: ten to twelve individuals dressed in black military style clothing
- 20:46Speaker 1: began shooting fireworks and engaging in acts of vandalism at
- 20:49Speaker 1: the facility. That was part of an organized attack. Today,
- 20:52Speaker 1: my office has charged ten individuals with three counts of
- 20:56Speaker 1: attempted murder of a federal officer. Of the ten are
- 21:02Speaker 1: also charged with three counts of discharging a firearm in
- 21:05Speaker 1: relation to a crime of violence. Each of these defendants
- 21:08Speaker 1: faces a mandatory prison term of ten years and up
- 21:12Speaker 1: to life in prison. An additional co conspirator was charged
- 21:16Speaker 1: with obstruction of justice and conspiracy for attempting to conceal
- 21:20Speaker 1: and destroy evidence in relation to the attack, and faces
- 21:23Speaker 1: up to ten years in prison. And she continued, quote,
- 21:30Speaker 1: let's discuss the incident. It was a planned ambush with
- 21:35Speaker 1: the intent to kill Ice. Corrections officers. Make no mistake,
- 21:42Speaker 1: this was not a so called peaceful protest. It was
- 21:47Speaker 1: indeed an ambush. This is the violence we are seeing.
- 21:51Speaker 1: And it turns out when you call law enforcement officers
- 21:55Speaker 1: federal law enforcement officers that are keeping us safe, when
- 21:57Speaker 1: you call them Nazis, when you call them gesta lunatics
- 22:02Speaker 1: on the left, hear that, and sadly, we are saying
- 22:05Speaker 1: over and over again, they are acting, and they're acting
- 22:07Speaker 1: with violence.
- 22:08Speaker 2: You look at even on Tuesday you had Democratic Senator
- 22:11Speaker 2: Padilla of California and Corey Booker New Jersey. They introduced
- 22:15Speaker 2: that legislation to require ICE officers to quote display clearly
- 22:19Speaker 2: visible IDs and not wear masks no matter what during
- 22:23Speaker 2: their enforcement operations, accusing quote the Trump administration of alarming
- 22:27Speaker 2: immigration enforcement tactics that have terrorized communities across California and
- 22:32Speaker 2: the nation. And we know what the left has done here.
- 22:34Speaker 2: They want to dock these ICE agents. They're family members.
- 22:39Speaker 2: They've been putting their kids even online and posting. People
- 22:43Speaker 2: been posting their home addresses hoping that basically people go
- 22:47Speaker 2: after the ICE agents who are just doing their jobs.
- 22:49Speaker 2: That's how sick these people are.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Well, listen, there's a simple choice. There's a choice for
- 22:54Speaker 1: Americans all across the country. Who do you stand with?
- 22:58Speaker 1: Do you stand with cops? Do you stand with law
- 23:01Speaker 1: enforcement agents? Do you stand with the men and women
- 23:03Speaker 1: who risk their lives to keep us safe? You and
- 23:06Speaker 1: I both stand with them? Or, as the Democrats have chosen,
- 23:10Speaker 1: do you stand with illegal immigrants? Do you stand with murderers?
- 23:13Speaker 1: Do you stand with rapists? Do you stand with child molesters?
- 23:16Speaker 1: Do you stand with Venezuelan gang members who are engaged
- 23:19Speaker 1: in human trafficking? Sadly, the Democrats and inexplicably, they've decided
- 23:24Speaker 1: to stand with the criminals and not law enforcement, and
- 23:26Speaker 1: we're seeing the consequences as before.
- 23:29Speaker 2: If you want to hear the rest of this conversation
- 23:31Speaker 2: on this topic, you can go back and dow the
- 23:33Speaker 2: podcasts from earlier this week to hear the entire thing.
- 23:37Speaker 2: I want to get back to the big story number
- 23:40Speaker 2: three of the week you may have missed, Sinata. I
- 23:42Speaker 2: want to get into this and get your reaction to
- 23:44Speaker 2: the FBI launching an investigation into John Brennan into James
- 23:50Speaker 2: Comy over the Trump Russia probe. I think we need
- 23:54Speaker 2: to go back and just remind people of what they
- 23:56Speaker 2: were peddling that they knew was false. Basically, in my opinion,
- 24:01Speaker 2: it was. It was a coup attempt against the American
- 24:03Speaker 2: people who chose Donald Trump in sixteen to be their president.
- 24:06Speaker 2: They didn't like it, and they're like, no worries, you know,
- 24:09Speaker 2: we'll do what the least of page Peter Strucks were doing, right,
- 24:12Speaker 2: We'll fix it. We'll take care of it after the fact,
- 24:15Speaker 2: after he gets sworn in, and we're gonna go after
- 24:17Speaker 2: him and we're gonna undermine him. We're gonna get him impeached,
- 24:19Speaker 2: and that'll be all fine.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Well, I got to say, this is an astonishing story.
- 24:24Speaker 1: John Brennan was the head of the CIA, James Comy
- 24:28Speaker 1: was the head of the FBI. Both of them are
- 24:31Speaker 1: right now under active criminal investigations. Here's what Fox News
- 24:36Speaker 1: has reported.
- 24:37Speaker 4: Quote.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Former CIA director John Brennan and former FBI director James
- 24:41Speaker 1: Comy are under criminal investigation for potential wrongdoing related to
- 24:45Speaker 1: the Trump Russia probe, including allegedly making false statements to Congress.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Justice Department sources told Fox News Digital CIA director John
- 24:56Speaker 1: Ratcliffe referred evidence of wrongdoing by Brennan to FBI director
- 25:00Speaker 1: Cash ptel for potential prosecution, DOJ sources told Fox News Digital.
- 25:06Speaker 1: The sources said the referral was received, and told Fox
- 25:08Speaker 1: News to Digital that a criminal investigation into Brennan was
- 25:12Speaker 1: opened and is underway. DOJ sources decline to provide further details.
- 25:17Speaker 1: It is unclear at this point if the investigation spans
- 25:21Speaker 1: beyond his alleged false statements to Congress. As for Comy,
- 25:26Speaker 1: DOJ sources told Fox News Digital that an investigation in
- 25:30Speaker 1: the former director is underway, but could not share details
- 25:33Speaker 1: of what specifically is being probed. The full scope of
- 25:36Speaker 1: the criminal investigations that Brennan and Comy is unclear, but
- 25:40Speaker 1: two sources described the FBI's view of the duo's interactions
- 25:44Speaker 1: as a quote conspiracy, which could open up a wide
- 25:49Speaker 1: range of potential prosecutorial options. The FBI and the CIA
- 25:54Speaker 1: declined comment.
- 25:56Speaker 2: I mean, this is massive on so many different levels.
- 25:59Speaker 2: And John Brennan, by the way, he went on TV
- 26:03Speaker 2: on MSNBC, and it was pretty funny because it was
- 26:07Speaker 2: like he was just playing dumb and it was like,
- 26:10Speaker 2: I don't even know why they would be investigating me.
- 26:12Speaker 2: I don't know what they would be looking at. I
- 26:14Speaker 2: don't understand how this is even even a thing in
- 26:19Speaker 2: his own words, And in fact, I'm going to play
- 26:21Speaker 2: it because I want you to hear it. I want
- 26:22Speaker 2: to get your reaction. Here's John Brennan MSNBC after finding
- 26:26Speaker 2: out that he's the target of an investigation.
- 26:29Speaker 4: Believe if there is an investigation that people will be questioned.
- 26:32Speaker 4: I would be questioned about it. But again I've had
- 26:34Speaker 4: no contact from them. But again I testified in front
- 26:38Speaker 4: of many many congressional committees in the House and the
- 26:41Speaker 4: Senate over the years, and I continue to explain exactly
- 26:44Speaker 4: what we did during this process, why we tried to
- 26:47Speaker 4: make sure we stay true to our intelligence responsibilities and
- 26:51Speaker 4: that we were not going to do anything at all
- 26:53Speaker 4: to try to interfere in that election. And again, it
- 26:56Speaker 4: was a challenging time, but also one I think that
- 26:59Speaker 4: the the people who actually worked this, both in terms
- 27:02Speaker 4: of trying to collect intelligence prior to the election and
- 27:05Speaker 4: then the ones who put together intell assessment, they really,
- 27:08Speaker 4: I think showed the best of what the intelligence community
- 27:11Speaker 4: and what CIA is made of. So again I am
- 27:14Speaker 4: clueless about what it is exactly that they may be
- 27:18Speaker 4: investigating before.
- 27:20Speaker 2: That may be the fastest center I've ever heard John
- 27:23Speaker 2: Brennan speak on TV ever, and I've watched him a
- 27:26Speaker 2: lot over the years. That seemed like a very nervous
- 27:28Speaker 2: man to me.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Well, then let me give a little more background on
- 27:31Speaker 1: who John Brennan is. He was the director of the
- 27:34Speaker 1: CIA from twenty thirteen to twenty seventeen under Barack Obama. Now,
- 27:41Speaker 1: in nineteen seventy six, John Brennan was a young man.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Nineteen seventy six, you were not alive, Is that right? Ben?
- 27:47Speaker 3: I was not.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Now, now you're enough of a political student and scholar.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Let me ask you who were the presidential candidates in
- 27:56Speaker 1: nineteen seventy six?
- 27:58Speaker 2: Jimmy Carter? Yeah, all right, and on the Republican side.
- 28:03Speaker 2: I love when you play these games with me. M
- 28:07Speaker 2: did Reagan was Reagan seventy six as well?
- 28:09Speaker 1: No? No, he so Reagan ran, but he lost. It
- 28:14Speaker 1: was Ford, It was Ford. Ford was the incumbent presidents.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Remember Richard Nixon had been president. He resigned, so Ford
- 28:20Speaker 1: was the incumbent president. Reagan primary Ford, but he lost
- 28:23Speaker 1: in that primary. So the general election was Gerald Ford
- 28:27Speaker 1: versus Jimmy Carter. Now, let me ask you, all right,
- 28:30Speaker 1: in that election, who would you vote.
- 28:31Speaker 2: For, I'm gonna probably go with a Republican there, not
- 28:35Speaker 2: Jimmy Carter.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Yeah. Look, although I will say, and by the way,
- 28:39Speaker 1: do you know this is my first political memory. I'm
- 28:41Speaker 1: about ten years older than you are. My first political
- 28:44Speaker 1: memory is when I was five years old, nineteen seventy six,
- 28:49Speaker 1: and my mother voted for Jimmy Carter. My mother is
- 28:52Speaker 1: a strong conservative. She just thought Gerald Ford was an idiot.
- 28:55Speaker 1: And I remember my father, my father, who's an immigrant
- 28:57Speaker 1: from Cuba. He was not yet a US citizen today,
- 29:00Speaker 1: but he was not in seventy six, and my father
- 29:03Speaker 1: was furious because he felt like my mom had the
- 29:05Speaker 1: family's vote and she voted for Jimmy Carter. It's funny.
- 29:10Speaker 1: My mom is ninety now, and she's incredible and a
- 29:12Speaker 1: wonderful conservative and incredible person. But when I bring this up,
- 29:16Speaker 1: she's like, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't know. Jimmy
- 29:20Speaker 1: Carter was an absolute disaster. He was a left wing wacko.
- 29:25Speaker 1: He was the worst president this country had ever seen
- 29:27Speaker 1: until Joe Biden. Joe Biden managed to be worse than
- 29:32Speaker 1: Jimmy Carter. Now, how is this relevant to John Brennan, Well,
- 29:35Speaker 1: John Brennan was in college at the time. He was
- 29:38Speaker 1: faced with a choice between Gerald Ford and ultra left
- 29:43Speaker 1: wing crazy Jimmy Carter. What do you think, John Brennan.
- 29:46Speaker 2: Did, I'm ready give me the punchline here.
- 29:51Speaker 1: He cast his vote for a guy named Gus Hall.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Do you know who Gus Hall was?
- 29:56Speaker 3: I do not.
- 29:57Speaker 1: He was the presidential candidate for the Communist Party USA.
- 30:03Speaker 2: And there's your sign.
- 30:04Speaker 1: So John Brennan decided Jimmy Carter is two right wing
- 30:09Speaker 1: for him, and he voted for someone who I'm not
- 30:12Speaker 1: calling him a communist. He was the nominee of the
- 30:16Speaker 1: Communist Party. And John Brennan said, I want America governed
- 30:19Speaker 1: by a communist president. That's who Barack Obama put in
- 30:24Speaker 1: charge of the CIA, and that's who was played an
- 30:28Speaker 1: integral role in orchestrating the whole Russia Gate fraud. And
- 30:33Speaker 1: it's just it's important to understand just how extreme and
- 30:37Speaker 1: radical this guy is. I got to tell you, I
- 30:40Speaker 1: don't know. To be honest, I don't know anybody else
- 30:44Speaker 1: in public life who thought Jimmy Carter was too conservative.
- 30:49Speaker 1: John Brennan is literally to the left of every Democrat senator,
- 30:53Speaker 1: every Democrat House member. Every single person I've ever encountered
- 30:56Speaker 1: in public life, the lefty loons, all voted for Jimmy
- 30:59Speaker 1: Carter except for John Brennan, who said, Nope, we need
- 31:03Speaker 1: a full on communist. That's who this guy is.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Final question on this how concerned do you think these
- 31:10Speaker 2: two individuals should be about this investigation or is this
- 31:15Speaker 2: one of those moments where you say, Okay, yeah, there's investigation,
- 31:17Speaker 2: but I don't have to worry because nothing ever really
- 31:20Speaker 2: happens to us. When were the elites?
- 31:22Speaker 1: Well, listen, the greatest exposure they have is for lying
- 31:25Speaker 1: to Congress, because lying to Congress you're under oath, and
- 31:27Speaker 1: lying under oath that carries a prison sentence that carries
- 31:30Speaker 1: up to five years in prison. James Clapper, who was
- 31:34Speaker 1: the Director of National Intelligence under Barack Obama, I think
- 31:37Speaker 1: the evidence is very clear that he lied to Congress.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Whether John Brennan did, whether James Comy did, I think
- 31:44Speaker 1: this investigation will reveal. It will depend upon There's no
- 31:48Speaker 1: doubt they were terrible heads of the CIA and the FBI.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Whether they committed criminal conduct or not, I think that
- 31:55Speaker 1: that is the purpose of this investigation. But I got
- 31:59Speaker 1: to say It is a big damn deal that the
- 32:03Speaker 1: former head of the FBI and the former head of
- 32:05Speaker 1: the CIA are being criminally investigated for felony conduct. That's
- 32:09Speaker 1: what's happening right now.
- 32:11Speaker 2: As always, thank you for listening to Verdict with Center,
