- 0:00Speaker 1: My dex. Gust is a strong advocate of the military.
- 0:02Speaker 1: He's also a master ice carver. You know, we gotta
- 0:05Speaker 1: talk about that pastry chef. Everybody know I'm an award
- 0:09Speaker 1: winning baker, so you know, we gotta talk about that
- 0:12Speaker 1: sugar sculpture. I don't know what that is, but we
- 0:14Speaker 1: don't know about We're gonna find out about what sugar
- 0:16Speaker 1: sculpturing is. Along with other specialties, he has known worldwide
- 0:21Speaker 1: for his advocacy for the military service and suicide prevention,
- 0:25Speaker 1: in which he does two thousand, two hundred and twenty
- 0:28Speaker 1: two push ups a day except Saturday and Sunday. That's
- 0:34Speaker 1: probably a year I probably do. I probably have done
- 0:37Speaker 1: two thousand, two hundred and twenty two push up probably
- 0:40Speaker 1: last ten years, maybe combine to promote healthy lifestyle living
- 0:45Speaker 1: around the world. Please welcome to my main conversation, my friend,
- 0:48Speaker 1: because when you got twenty four by sels, you call
- 0:51Speaker 1: him my friend. Chef Rush, Come on, Michel, this is
- 0:59Speaker 1: this thing. Some man, If you do a two thousand
- 1:02Speaker 1: two push you know your your child like you know,
- 1:06Speaker 1: you'd be a little more bold on what's going on?
- 1:09Speaker 1: What's going on? Because that's something because anybody you talk to.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Everybody you talk to is humble by you. Okay, there's
- 1:22Speaker 1: nobody out that. How can you be at the Mr
- 1:25Speaker 1: Olympia contest being humbled by you? I think you don't
- 1:29Speaker 1: just get down there, just do what I do. I
- 1:33Speaker 1: actually just left me at Olympia. No one know to do.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Put a couple of females here. But the guys is
- 1:40Speaker 1: that we're okay, We're okay. We we we got your brother,
- 1:44Speaker 1: we got your brother. I followed your story. I've seen
- 1:48Speaker 1: your TV. I love your your voice here. You have
- 1:52Speaker 1: a brilliant smile. Tell me a little bit about your background. UM,
- 1:57Speaker 1: no story short. I'm from the Hospicaliti State in Mississippi.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Column of Mississippi. I'm a country boy. I'm a mama's boy. Um,
- 2:06Speaker 1: when I could call my dad for me to work,
- 2:09Speaker 1: put the boys to work, and put the girls in school.
- 2:11Speaker 1: So I feel luckily I kept my work ethics which
- 2:16Speaker 1: they would never go away, which I'm extremely appreciative of.
- 2:19Speaker 1: UH started the military very athletic, you know, scholarships from art, football, track.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I had a chance for the Olympics in a hundred
- 2:30Speaker 1: meter dash. Chose the military route. UH served my country,
- 2:34Speaker 1: of course, bublically did the twenty four years in the
- 2:38Speaker 1: military almost and heed crazy duration. During my twenty years
- 2:46Speaker 1: in the military, the most humbling, most successful, most rewarding,
- 2:50Speaker 1: you know how to say. It was the best of times,
- 2:52Speaker 1: the worst of times. But I would never traded for anything.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Now now like that, I share my experience and I did.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I never enlisted in the military. I was only a
- 3:02Speaker 1: person who was brought on to understand a brand marketing
- 3:06Speaker 1: brand and and see and and tell people about the
- 3:09Speaker 1: value of the of having a role in the military.
- 3:13Speaker 1: The branch I was talking about, what's the Air National Guard?
- 3:15Speaker 1: Your branch was the army? Correct? Okay, cool? Now now
- 3:20Speaker 1: you said you opted to go into the military. What
- 3:22Speaker 1: attracted you to the military, Because that's that's a job,
- 3:25Speaker 1: that's that's a that's an opportunity. A lot of people
- 3:28Speaker 1: there's a lot of negative things people say about the military,
- 3:31Speaker 1: but because they don't really do their research, they don't
- 3:33Speaker 1: really see the opportunities that are available to you, not
- 3:36Speaker 1: only from an educational format, but you can it's kind
- 3:39Speaker 1: of like on the job training as well, and also
- 3:41Speaker 1: can pay for your education later on. These are things
- 3:44Speaker 1: I learned. Some of the things I knew going in,
- 3:46Speaker 1: but was reinforced when you do more your research. Talked
- 3:49Speaker 1: to us about that little bit, sir, you knows it's
- 3:52Speaker 1: always a spigma with the military, just like what my
- 3:54Speaker 1: ever to see about the things I do with my
- 3:56Speaker 1: two balls a two and two push up. So I
- 4:00Speaker 1: I have to kind of break it down to explain
- 4:02Speaker 1: the people and uh enlightened them so to speak, the military,
- 4:07Speaker 1: like you just said. And by the way, thank you
- 4:09Speaker 1: for your service even though you deserve you you're you
- 4:12Speaker 1: served tremendously for the military. And hundreds of thousands of
- 4:15Speaker 1: people that's in the military has that appreciated like myself.
- 4:19Speaker 1: UM that their opportunities. That's that's undeniable course of foundation, leadership, mentoring,
- 4:25Speaker 1: UH that intestinal fortitude, financial course, UH education. I tell people,
- 4:33Speaker 1: even if you don't want to join the military long term,
- 4:36Speaker 1: which nine times out of ten people say, I'm just
- 4:39Speaker 1: after being convinced that, okay, I want to go ahead
- 4:41Speaker 1: and pay them bills and and give some education. They
- 4:45Speaker 1: signed them for two or three years and wind up
- 4:48Speaker 1: doing thirties. You know, it's like I, I, you're here
- 4:50Speaker 1: every time. I only started off for a few years
- 4:53Speaker 1: and and then I love the military, and I just
- 4:55Speaker 1: carry it on so much more you can gain from it,
- 5:00Speaker 1: um and it's all perspectives. I mean, military has so
- 5:04Speaker 1: many opportunities that people don't dig deep inside to see
- 5:09Speaker 1: everything that they have. I mean, I mean not only
- 5:12Speaker 1: hundreds of thousands of opportunities like myself, even me deciding
- 5:15Speaker 1: to be in the food service star Now, I said, hey,
- 5:19Speaker 1: this is what I wanted to do. Even even though
- 5:23Speaker 1: people were like, someone, you're a big guy, you could
- 5:25Speaker 1: do anything that you want to do, the athletic, you
- 5:27Speaker 1: can do X, Y and Z. But I had a passion.
- 5:32Speaker 1: You know. It was from my mother, from being raised,
- 5:34Speaker 1: you know, and it was my comfort. It brought me
- 5:36Speaker 1: back to that part where I felt at peace the most.
- 5:40Speaker 1: So myself, I capitalized all of my peace and off
- 5:45Speaker 1: of what I want to do and make it worth while.
- 5:48Speaker 1: And uh, I said to myself, you know, twenty plus
- 5:51Speaker 1: years ago, I said I'm going to do something with
- 5:54Speaker 1: this platform. And that was at a time where there
- 5:57Speaker 1: was absolutely nothing you could do with that platform one right,
- 6:00Speaker 1: So that's how things work. And that's why I go
- 6:02Speaker 1: out to different places all over the world and I
- 6:06Speaker 1: say that I preached that and especially to the military,
- 6:09Speaker 1: to the younger, the older, to the ones who are
- 6:11Speaker 1: getting now staying in civilians, trying to transition, so many
- 6:16Speaker 1: different so many different things. I mean, it's I could
- 6:18Speaker 1: talk all day night about this, right and as you can.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I because of the fact that my my younger brother,
- 6:23Speaker 1: he's uh, he was in the military. Guy I was
- 6:26Speaker 1: an X ray tech and now he has four Barbara
- 6:29Speaker 1: and beautist salons in the Washington, D C. Area. I
- 6:32Speaker 1: have another nephew who has a very popular Big six
- 6:36Speaker 1: barbecue in Houston, Texas, Andy, and he visits, he comes
- 6:40Speaker 1: to the line, his little says, guys he served, they
- 6:43Speaker 1: always hook up in Atlanta, meet all the time. So
- 6:46Speaker 1: it's that family, the camaraderie that he has, not his
- 6:49Speaker 1: high school camarades, comrades. It's the people who had in
- 6:52Speaker 1: the military. There's a family to him that he comes
- 6:54Speaker 1: to to Atlanta because it always stays with me when
- 6:56Speaker 1: he comes into town. So those are just two examples.
- 6:59Speaker 1: And my personal my personal life that I've tied myself to.
- 7:03Speaker 1: And I say that hundred and four, that recruitment number
- 7:07Speaker 1: for their National Guard. That's a prideful number when I
- 7:09Speaker 1: say that, because that means that I gave what I could.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I gave the talents that that they recognized that I had,
- 7:16Speaker 1: and I gave one. And so when you say you're
- 7:18Speaker 1: an advocate, know there are a lot of people who
- 7:20Speaker 1: think like you, respect what you're doing and keep doing
- 7:23Speaker 1: what you're doing all two hundred and Twitter you two. Now,
- 7:26Speaker 1: I'm just gonna let you know two thousand, two hundred
- 7:28Speaker 1: and Twitter two. Don't want to short change about two
- 7:31Speaker 1: thousand that you know I can't get it. I could probably,
- 7:34Speaker 1: I could probably do that in the whole football game,
- 7:36Speaker 1: but I gotta take breaks, halftime breaks, uh, two minute warnings.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Let's talk about your skill, man a self now, lit's
- 7:45Speaker 1: because it was a lot of skills that you have here, sir. Okay,
- 7:49Speaker 1: I'm talking to chef for us, very talented. Uh young
- 7:52Speaker 1: man I've called young man because younger than me. Who's Uh,
- 7:55Speaker 1: let's talk about sculpturing ice. Okay, usual when I see that,
- 7:58Speaker 1: I see somebody with a chat, ain't song going at it?
- 8:01Speaker 1: What level of sculpturing do you involve yourself with? Well,
- 8:06Speaker 1: I just hit it with my fists and there's just
- 8:08Speaker 1: great sis to whatever. I wanted to know. Everybody's do
- 8:13Speaker 1: you everybody's doing you believe it. If they believe you,
- 8:15Speaker 1: now you can do a whole you can do a
- 8:20Speaker 1: whole moment on this. Okay, I've been doing I've been
- 8:25Speaker 1: doing ice. I see one of my hobby from oh
- 8:28Speaker 1: my god, years and years ago that I knew nothing
- 8:30Speaker 1: about that I count said that I did, and and
- 8:33Speaker 1: thember giving an opportunity and uh that's when it was born.
- 8:37Speaker 1: But I do messrs carver. I've carved thousands of pieces
- 8:43Speaker 1: of ice or help uh even that much more people
- 8:47Speaker 1: train them on doing ice and uh from um from
- 8:52Speaker 1: Alaska competitions to Europe competitions and ice carving to just
- 8:56Speaker 1: general competitions anything if I think of from George Way
- 9:00Speaker 1: then crossing the Delaware too, you know, dragons to I
- 9:05Speaker 1: just it was just I just love the I love
- 9:08Speaker 1: the set it of the ice scope where you can
- 9:10Speaker 1: turn a block of ice into something that's magnificent that
- 9:15Speaker 1: people don't get to see every day. Uh So I
- 9:19Speaker 1: just started with it and it just became pretty pretty
- 9:22Speaker 1: good at it, and uh then I I kind of
- 9:25Speaker 1: mastered it. Yea for us snack you know, started with
- 9:28Speaker 1: it this ice now because see that's just because that's
- 9:32Speaker 1: because you know, you have to be in a situation
- 9:34Speaker 1: where you melts, because if it melts, you have to
- 9:36Speaker 1: be in a cold setting that allows you a time
- 9:39Speaker 1: limit that you have to get it done. So and
- 9:41Speaker 1: also you have to have a visual or three D
- 9:44Speaker 1: visual in your mind to be able to look at
- 9:46Speaker 1: a block of ice and shape it out. So that's
- 9:49Speaker 1: a gift. And I'm trying to figure out when did
- 9:51Speaker 1: you realize you know something I can do this? Uh?
- 9:54Speaker 1: It started smaller course, but they started getting bigger and bigger.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Well you know, I'm I'm'm gonna be I'm gonna be
- 10:02Speaker 1: frankly honest with you. Um, but I saw an ice
- 10:05Speaker 1: carbing the first time I was in the military. I'm
- 10:07Speaker 1: promistership be Columbus. You know it don't even snow, Uh
- 10:11Speaker 1: doesn't snow. So someone doing an ice carver and I
- 10:13Speaker 1: fell in love with I was like, oh my god,
- 10:16Speaker 1: what is that. That is incredible. I want to know
- 10:19Speaker 1: what it is, how it is. And so I went
- 10:22Speaker 1: back to um the defect and the guy in charge
- 10:26Speaker 1: the seven we had things getting coming up, and I
- 10:29Speaker 1: remember the ice carb and he said, hey, we need
- 10:31Speaker 1: an ice carver to come and do two ice carving
- 10:34Speaker 1: for us, And he said, does anyone know how to
- 10:36Speaker 1: do ice carving? And I don't know what happened. I
- 10:40Speaker 1: just kind of said I do, I don't. I ain't
- 10:42Speaker 1: like ice car not sold. Stop this. I'm gonna stop.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Telp my hang up for you, hold on, hold on,
- 10:48Speaker 1: hold over. We got fifties seconds left in this break.
- 10:50Speaker 1: You're not gonna I'm not gonna waste this story. You
- 10:52Speaker 1: just just raise your hand. I can call, I can call.
- 10:55Speaker 1: We're gonna be back forward, chef uss And it's and
- 10:59Speaker 1: there's two thousand two or twenty two pushed off there
- 11:01Speaker 1: he does he did up to day. I just reash
- 11:10Speaker 1: on McDonald. You're listening to money making conversation. We were
- 11:13Speaker 1: talking before the break about how he got into he
- 11:17Speaker 1: been chef rush, how he got into ice sculpture. He
- 11:21Speaker 1: saw at one time, fell in love with it. Then
- 11:23Speaker 1: all of a sudden somebody said, we need a hard
- 11:25Speaker 1: ice sculpture, and he went, Hey, the hand slowly came up.
- 11:30Speaker 1: I think I can do that. Is that how it
- 11:33Speaker 1: really happened, Chef, That's exactly how it happened. And the
- 11:38Speaker 1: word sport about it was they they got me, They
- 11:41Speaker 1: took me to um this location where they had the
- 11:44Speaker 1: ice on the back dock. Uh getting the change. So
- 11:48Speaker 1: two blocks of ice and after after getting with one
- 11:53Speaker 1: of the guys who worked there, U don't know how
- 11:56Speaker 1: to change, start to change, so these two blocks. And
- 12:01Speaker 1: I didn't know anything about him. I didn't know about
- 12:03Speaker 1: tempering the ice. And you know the template and you
- 12:07Speaker 1: said earlier you have to have in your mind what
- 12:10Speaker 1: you want to create and how you want to do it.
- 12:13Speaker 1: And uh, I actually just kind of tiptoe with it
- 12:16Speaker 1: and started putting a chainsaw to the ice, and and
- 12:19Speaker 1: then I and then all of a sudden, they just
- 12:21Speaker 1: started visualizing what I wanted to see. I had a
- 12:23Speaker 1: picture of what they wanted was a cornucopia and an eagle.
- 12:30Speaker 1: So after doing that, long story short was I did it.
- 12:33Speaker 1: I came back. It was like maybe that Monday Thursday
- 12:36Speaker 1: was Thanksgiving. They came. I had it wrapped up. They
- 12:39Speaker 1: brought the ice out. You know, everybody was waiting to
- 12:42Speaker 1: the ice corting because no one sees iceberry Port at
- 12:44Speaker 1: Fort campbell Um. They opened it up and be fact
- 12:49Speaker 1: the manager says, uh, private Rush, you did this, And
- 12:52Speaker 1: I said, uh yes, uh yes, player. So and I
- 12:57Speaker 1: did this. And he looked at me and you know,
- 13:00Speaker 1: nobody else. He said, great job, and I looked at him.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I say, yes, I know that was the way it started.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Awesome and congratulations, man, what what a great story of
- 13:11Speaker 1: just following your your your your faith, following your belief,
- 13:14Speaker 1: following your natural instinct. Because I always tell people follow
- 13:17Speaker 1: that first thought when the second and third thought throws
- 13:20Speaker 1: doubt into your ability, follow that first thought. And if
- 13:24Speaker 1: you and you did that and then you came out no,
- 13:27Speaker 1: not not fully confident, but until they until they validated,
- 13:31Speaker 1: then you stepped into the front of the lot. That's right.
- 13:33Speaker 1: It's good too, because nobody else can do it. But
- 13:37Speaker 1: I did it. And that's that's an amazing thing that
- 13:39Speaker 1: you were able to accomplish. Do you did you when
- 13:41Speaker 1: you when you follow the journeys in your life? Do
- 13:43Speaker 1: you find that happening a lot in your life about
- 13:46Speaker 1: you stepping forward on whether beliefs or advocate levels of
- 13:51Speaker 1: change that advocated levels of change that enable YouTube said,
- 13:56Speaker 1: just make a difference. Actually, wasn't between the everything. Um
- 14:01Speaker 1: I tell people when I go out and I speak
- 14:04Speaker 1: all around the world, I'm actually going to speak. I
- 14:07Speaker 1: just spoke to her about a thousand Marines Friday, going
- 14:10Speaker 1: to travel to elect an Air Force based to speak
- 14:13Speaker 1: to the Air Force in Texas for a few days tomorrow. Um,
- 14:18Speaker 1: I tell people you are your biggest work. You are
- 14:20Speaker 1: a walking billboard. But people look at you, they get
- 14:23Speaker 1: an impressure. I don't care what it is, who they are.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I don't care because they don't know if you have
- 14:29Speaker 1: a PhD, if you're a garbage man, if your shelf,
- 14:32Speaker 1: they don't they don't know. They look at you, and
- 14:34Speaker 1: then they automatically they're going to get an impression of
- 14:39Speaker 1: who you are and how you are. I'm a big guy,
- 14:41Speaker 1: so a lot of people think that, um, when they
- 14:43Speaker 1: see me at first, that I'm intimidating, you know, and
- 14:45Speaker 1: they kind of they kind of tiptoe with me until
- 14:48Speaker 1: I opened up my mouth, and then all of a sudden,
- 14:51Speaker 1: you just see that depression from them, like, Okay, you
- 14:54Speaker 1: know what I want this guy in my circle, you know,
- 14:56Speaker 1: I want him to let me learn, let me learn
- 14:59Speaker 1: more about him, let me see more about him, you
- 15:01Speaker 1: know what's going on with him. And I do the
- 15:02Speaker 1: same things with them in return, regardless who they are,
- 15:05Speaker 1: all what kind of pressions I've come to learn from
- 15:08Speaker 1: the military and in life that I don't necessarily judge
- 15:13Speaker 1: anyone anymore. You know, I went to them to open
- 15:16Speaker 1: their mouths or show me who they are, their personalities
- 15:19Speaker 1: or what kind of character are. But when I project
- 15:23Speaker 1: the especially the marketing part of it, um, I want
- 15:27Speaker 1: people to remember me, you know. I want to remember people.
- 15:31Speaker 1: And that's the part that a lot of people they
- 15:34Speaker 1: don't necessarily do a lot. They kind of they want
- 15:39Speaker 1: their resume to speak for themselves, but they have to
- 15:42Speaker 1: understand that they have to open their they have to
- 15:43Speaker 1: open their mouths eventually to speak for themselves, to even resonate.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Because you have the best resume in the world. But
- 15:51Speaker 1: if you don't relate to people, if you're not that person,
- 15:54Speaker 1: or if you're not a team player, like minded, like hearted,
- 15:57Speaker 1: I don't want you on my team. You know. The
- 16:00Speaker 1: interesting thing about it when I when I listened to
- 16:02Speaker 1: your listen to you tell your story, and I start,
- 16:07Speaker 1: I have to ask a certain question because people want
- 16:09Speaker 1: to know what did the number of two thousand two
- 16:11Speaker 1: d twenty two come from? First of all, and also
- 16:13Speaker 1: a second to that, how do you break up your
- 16:16Speaker 1: push up? Do you do them consecutively. What is your
- 16:18Speaker 1: when you do them in one day? What is the
- 16:20Speaker 1: routine that you do it? So my two thousand, two
- 16:23Speaker 1: hundred and twenty two is for twenty two vets commit
- 16:26Speaker 1: suicide of day I do. I do two thousand, two
- 16:31Speaker 1: d and two not only for the vets, but the
- 16:34Speaker 1: first people that I speak or that I think when
- 16:38Speaker 1: are going speak in any UH platforms, there's spouses I
- 16:44Speaker 1: speak to. I think the spouses because if you think
- 16:48Speaker 1: about in perspective with the vets, you know they're trained forwards,
- 16:51Speaker 1: the spouses they are not. And then also the kids.
- 16:53Speaker 1: So I called your attitude the best committed to uside
- 16:57Speaker 1: a day to commit suicide the kid side. You said,
- 17:02Speaker 1: twenty two commit suicide the day. That's what you're saying
- 17:05Speaker 1: exactly exactly. So that's the twenty two a day. I
- 17:08Speaker 1: do two thousand two, twenty two a day because twenty
- 17:13Speaker 1: two is not enough for people to catch people. People
- 17:15Speaker 1: are are visual or people. Now you know you can say, hey,
- 17:20Speaker 1: I did can push up today, and no one word
- 17:22Speaker 1: even brink and eyes. You said I do twenty two
- 17:25Speaker 1: push up. They don't even ask the questions. But if
- 17:27Speaker 1: I say I do two thousand, two hundred and twenty
- 17:29Speaker 1: two and they're like, whoa, why are you doing so
- 17:33Speaker 1: many push ups? And how can you do that? How
- 17:34Speaker 1: is it possible? You know, because I'm an animal. My
- 17:37Speaker 1: leaves and I have an advocate that I'm passionate about,
- 17:40Speaker 1: and I do. Then I get up at three o'clock
- 17:44Speaker 1: in the morning, I'm at a table. About fifteen and
- 17:47Speaker 1: twenty minutes, I roll over, I do my pushups. I
- 17:49Speaker 1: do about a hundred twenty five or more at a time.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I'll rest between thirty and forty five seconds and then repeat.
- 17:57Speaker 1: It takes me about an hour fifteen minutes to do
- 18:00Speaker 1: all my pushups, and I kind of judged that way
- 18:02Speaker 1: so I could finish in an hour fifteen minutes. And
- 18:05Speaker 1: I have to do it that in that amount of
- 18:06Speaker 1: time to say you don't do them over the hotel
- 18:08Speaker 1: entire day, you know. I don't have that much time
- 18:10Speaker 1: in a day because I have so many things that
- 18:12Speaker 1: I do. I answer all of my social media myself. Um,
- 18:16Speaker 1: I get hundreds of messages and and and content, and
- 18:20Speaker 1: I bet them all because it maybe that one person,
- 18:24Speaker 1: that one kid, that one female, one guy, that one
- 18:29Speaker 1: military member that may need something that may need help,
- 18:32Speaker 1: and I've been that situation so many different times. Um,
- 18:36Speaker 1: so it's important to me to understand and even with
- 18:39Speaker 1: the kids, which I'm really passionate about as well, like
- 18:42Speaker 1: I one of Arnold Schwartzmanger's investad for that to school.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Also our kids, I do the pushups with them because
- 18:48Speaker 1: I don't use the word suicide. I use the word
- 18:51Speaker 1: bullying and cyber bullying, which is just as important in
- 18:54Speaker 1: today's society. So that's one of my things that I'm
- 18:58Speaker 1: truly passionate about. Wow. Um, I do get up. I
- 19:03Speaker 1: get up early every day, you know, get up at
- 19:05Speaker 1: four fifteen. I did not know that that's what the
- 19:08Speaker 1: two thousand two I cannot do two thousand two push up,
- 19:15Speaker 1: but I will start doing twenty two every day. And
- 19:21Speaker 1: you know what I tell people, I'll be honest with
- 19:23Speaker 1: you something. I get a lot of people, especially military
- 19:25Speaker 1: people of the Marines. They say I'm gonna start like
- 19:28Speaker 1: two thousands. I said, no, don't do that, You'll hurt yourself. Yes,
- 19:32Speaker 1: So people don't understand that I'm I'm I was made
- 19:35Speaker 1: and I work. I'm an endurance trainer. So this thing
- 19:39Speaker 1: is called Rebel Mindnight is where you can actually break
- 19:41Speaker 1: down your body and you can go to a really
- 19:43Speaker 1: big fit and UH can potentially hurt thisself really bad
- 19:47Speaker 1: or even kill yourself. Look the thing about it is,
- 19:49Speaker 1: I said, even if you did to push up, it's
- 19:52Speaker 1: just as important as two thousand two two. It's not
- 19:56Speaker 1: the amounted you as the really you're doing it. It's
- 19:59Speaker 1: your cause. But you know, the brilliancy of it is
- 20:02Speaker 1: that I get a lot of kids that see me
- 20:05Speaker 1: doing a push up and they'll go their parents and
- 20:07Speaker 1: they start doing them together. Not only is it promoting
- 20:10Speaker 1: something that's about awareness and about you know, a stigma
- 20:14Speaker 1: about suicide, but it brings togetherness. Also it's that healthy
- 20:18Speaker 1: lifestyle that will be and they're doing something together for
- 20:22Speaker 1: a reason. So you give them another different avenue instead
- 20:27Speaker 1: of you know, being on their phone looking at TV
- 20:28Speaker 1: all the time. Well, I'm gonna tell you I'm committed
- 20:31Speaker 1: to it. Um. This is something that like I said,
- 20:34Speaker 1: I also know you. You're absolutely correct. You don't overdo
- 20:37Speaker 1: something you want to do on a regular basis, And
- 20:39Speaker 1: so I know twenty two I can I can put
- 20:42Speaker 1: that in my schedule. I know why I'm doing it,
- 20:44Speaker 1: and also it enables me next time we talked, you'll
- 20:46Speaker 1: be able to ask for Shane. Rahane, you're still doing
- 20:48Speaker 1: that twenty two. I'm gonna I'm gonna tell you, Yes, sir,
- 20:51Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you because that's that's how I am.
- 20:53Speaker 1: I Once I say I'm gonna do something, I don't
- 20:55Speaker 1: just say it on the radio. Just to make this
- 20:57Speaker 1: conversation flow correctly, to make you feel good that you
- 21:00Speaker 1: you've got an advocate on your side of trying to
- 21:03Speaker 1: stop or bring awareness to the suicides that happened. I
- 21:07Speaker 1: have a brother who was in the army and have
- 21:09Speaker 1: a nephew who was in the army as well. They've
- 21:11Speaker 1: served in the military. They have nothing but positive things
- 21:14Speaker 1: to say about the military. I remember when my my
- 21:17Speaker 1: my younger brother, I got a chance to introduce him
- 21:19Speaker 1: to UH President Barack Obama, and he was in tears
- 21:23Speaker 1: because he said, and I didn't understand why he was
- 21:25Speaker 1: in He said, that's my that's my true commander right there.
- 21:29Speaker 1: You said, I finally got to meet him, he said,
- 21:32Speaker 1: and that was a great moment for him. And I
- 21:34Speaker 1: realized and I was just doing I was, you know,
- 21:36Speaker 1: I was just gonna getting of a picture with the
- 21:37Speaker 1: president and I realizing how deep that went, and so
- 21:40Speaker 1: I understand what you're doing is so strong. But before
- 21:43Speaker 1: we get off, you have a book that you are
- 21:45Speaker 1: Are you writing this and coming out tells the status
- 21:48Speaker 1: of your upcoming book. So the book, actually it's coming
- 21:53Speaker 1: out next year. Okay, it's gonna be a collect it's
- 21:55Speaker 1: got operation. Of course. I'm I'm a pretty great chef.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Uh I say that humbly. I'm gonna tell you something.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Gonna tell yourself. That's a different interview when you start
- 22:06Speaker 1: talking about cooking. Now, see I get a little American,
- 22:08Speaker 1: so I can do two thous or two pastree. I
- 22:12Speaker 1: could do that, and see I would send you some
- 22:14Speaker 1: post to see you saw my attitude change. See now
- 22:17Speaker 1: we don't even playing. When you're talking about all that
- 22:19Speaker 1: push up, I had to be humble. But we're talking
- 22:21Speaker 1: about cupcakes, dramming, chocolate cake, pitch cobbler, sweeper, take a pie,
- 22:26Speaker 1: but come pie, all that good stuff. Then your boy
- 22:29Speaker 1: got a conversation for your naw schilf Uh. Well, that
- 22:34Speaker 1: sounds like a sudden thing because all those those sudden
- 22:37Speaker 1: foods that grew with my mother, you know. And the
- 22:40Speaker 1: funny party is that if you talk to two th
- 22:43Speaker 1: push up, think about ten thousands, push up the baby.
- 22:46Speaker 1: That's my food level right now. Yes, sir, Yes, sir,
- 22:49Speaker 1: I tell you it's really I I really appreciate that
- 22:52Speaker 1: we you're coming down to this last minute, but I
- 22:54Speaker 1: did you believe me. I want you to realize that
- 22:56Speaker 1: this is a home for you, for your brand, you
- 23:00Speaker 1: even me. Uh just just this conversation, um, that I'm
- 23:03Speaker 1: having with you is like if you were sitting in
- 23:04Speaker 1: my house and we just with a restaurant, just you. You.
- 23:07Speaker 1: You've educated me, hopefully you've educated my listeners and people
- 23:12Speaker 1: watch the show, your podcast or Facebook. You're You're a blessing.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Don't change. Thank you appreciate that you won't change, first
- 23:20Speaker 1: of all, but I'm telling you, don't change. Keep following
- 23:23Speaker 1: that first start, Keep being an advocate for change, Keep
- 23:26Speaker 1: being somebody that I can't be, be in places I
- 23:29Speaker 1: can't be, and we're both work together to change the world. Okay, chef,
- 23:34Speaker 1: thank you, sir, Thank you,
