- 1:50Speaker 1: go homey come on, uh huh, I shall well a
- 2:07Speaker 1: good morning everybody. You're listening to the voice. Come on,
- 2:11Speaker 1: dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey got a
- 2:14Speaker 1: radio show to date. Let me share something with you.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I've had to learn this one over and over and
- 2:21Speaker 1: over and over and probably still have to teach it
- 2:25Speaker 1: to myself too. This is a hard one to get,
- 2:29Speaker 1: but it's one of the principles of success. It's called patience. Patience. Now,
- 2:40Speaker 1: I can't tell you how many times I've gotten myself
- 2:45Speaker 1: into a jam or a situation because I got impatient,
- 2:52Speaker 1: because I wanted something to happen now. So I made
- 2:55Speaker 1: a move on my own. I tried to put something
- 3:03Speaker 1: I wanted the results of it now. And you know,
- 3:07Speaker 1: I kind of think that's human nature. I think all
- 3:09Speaker 1: of us are guilty of that from time to time.
- 3:13Speaker 1: But I was guilty of it a lot. You know.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I just wanted what I wanted right now, and I
- 3:17Speaker 1: did some things to try to push it forward. Here's
- 3:21Speaker 1: here's here's the thing that I had to learn about patients.
- 3:25Speaker 1: First of all, success is not an overnight process. It's
- 3:31Speaker 1: a long, daunting task. And when I and I'm not
- 3:36Speaker 1: saying it to sound discouraging to anyone, but I'm saying
- 3:40Speaker 1: it so you can prepare yourself. If you have any
- 3:44Speaker 1: aspirations are becoming successful, get ready for the dog fight
- 3:49Speaker 1: of your life. Get ready for one of the hardest
- 3:56Speaker 1: things you'll ever attempt to do, and that's become successful.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Now that those requirements are becoming successful, it's what stops
- 4:07Speaker 1: most people once they strike out on the road to success,
- 4:11Speaker 1: and they see how difficult it is, how many pitfalls, setbacks, hardships,
- 4:16Speaker 1: how high the mountaineers to climb, how deep them valleys
- 4:20Speaker 1: get sometimes, man, how strong the current is in the
- 4:24Speaker 1: rivers you have to cross, how really icy cold it
- 4:28Speaker 1: can get out there sometimes, And man, Lord, have mercy,
- 4:31Speaker 1: how incredibly hot it is out there. Sometimes it's it's
- 4:36Speaker 1: all of it. Becoming successful is all of the things
- 4:40Speaker 1: you could imagine that can happen. It's going to probably happen. Now,
- 4:47Speaker 1: it's how you handle it and how you view it
- 4:51Speaker 1: determines whether you get through it. How you handle it
- 4:56Speaker 1: and how you view it determines how you get through it,
- 5:00Speaker 1: because it's going to happen. And so what you've got
- 5:04Speaker 1: to learn in this process of success is patience. That
- 5:08Speaker 1: is going to be some days when you're trying to
- 5:12Speaker 1: get it right, when you're trying to get it together,
- 5:15Speaker 1: that it's gonna be some setbacks, that it's gonna be
- 5:19Speaker 1: some difficult days and difficult times ahead, that it's going
- 5:22Speaker 1: to be some moments, man, when you just feel like
- 5:25Speaker 1: you don't have enough to go on. You can, you will,
- 5:31Speaker 1: and you have to, but you got to be patient. See,
- 5:36Speaker 1: so many people give up right before the turn can
- 5:41Speaker 1: even happen for you. You've you've heard old people say,
- 5:45Speaker 1: You've heard the saying that it's always darkest before the dawn,
- 5:48Speaker 1: which would simply means, you know, I mean, this is
- 5:51Speaker 1: about as pitch black as it get. Round three thirty
- 5:55Speaker 1: four thirty in the morning. Five, it's pitch black, beau Halls.
- 6:00Speaker 1: It's it's, it's, it's, it's I don't know. It just
- 6:03Speaker 1: feels that way, don't it. You know, it's it's darkest
- 6:05Speaker 1: before the dawn. Every accomplishment that I've had in my life,
- 6:13Speaker 1: every jump in statue, every award, every increment, every dollar climb,
- 6:22Speaker 1: every raise, every elevation in my career, all my life,
- 6:29Speaker 1: almost all of them came on the heels of a setback.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Almost all of them came off of off of a
- 6:39Speaker 1: situation that I was working through, that that that was
- 6:43Speaker 1: about to bring me down, that I didn't see an
- 6:45Speaker 1: answer to. Almost all of my successes, awards, rewards, however
- 6:51Speaker 1: you want to look at it came on the heels
- 6:54Speaker 1: of something that could have been devastating or something perilous
- 7:00Speaker 1: for me. I don't know about you, but that's how
- 7:02Speaker 1: it's happened for me. I mean, right when it looked hopeless,
- 7:07Speaker 1: when I didn't see a way, here came the blessing.
- 7:12Speaker 1: I mean, man, I cannot even tell you. Something tragic
- 7:16Speaker 1: was happening in my life when the book came out,
- 7:20Speaker 1: Something traffical, trapped or tragic was happening in my life.
- 7:23Speaker 1: When family Field came along. Something had gone incredibly wrong
- 7:29Speaker 1: when I started to syndicate a radio show in two
- 7:31Speaker 1: thousand five, I'm telling you, man I and I I
- 7:36Speaker 1: don't know why it is that way, but that old
- 7:39Speaker 1: saying it's always dark as before the dawn is so true.
- 7:43Speaker 1: When I lost something, and I lost what I thought
- 7:47Speaker 1: was everything I had, here comes the blessing that caused
- 7:53Speaker 1: me to have everything I got. I can't explain it.
- 7:57Speaker 1: I don't know why it is, but it's simply to
- 8:00Speaker 1: me it's a test of my faith. You know, Pete
- 8:03Speaker 1: Pablo got a song out on this album that he
- 8:06Speaker 1: came out with back in two thousands, something called Diary
- 8:09Speaker 1: of a Center. I'm not a big hip hop fan,
- 8:11Speaker 1: so I ain't trying to flex that information. It's just
- 8:14Speaker 1: happens to be my favorite hip hop album I've ever heard.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I don't know the name of the song, but one
- 8:21Speaker 1: of the lyrics is um he says, uh uh. He
- 8:27Speaker 1: was talking about being down half a tank of gas,
- 8:33Speaker 1: two cigarettes, scraping up change in an ash tray. But
- 8:39Speaker 1: I realized it was only a test of my faith
- 8:43Speaker 1: and right when he was about to give up something,
- 8:45Speaker 1: jumped off for it. But I see, I've been in
- 8:48Speaker 1: that situation where I've been down to a half a
- 8:50Speaker 1: tank of gas and I was scraping up changing an
- 8:53Speaker 1: ass track. I think a lot of people can relate
- 8:54Speaker 1: to that. But off the heels of almost all of
- 8:58Speaker 1: my me his HAPs and demises came a success story
- 9:04Speaker 1: because it is a test of your faith. It is
- 9:09Speaker 1: do you really want what you say you want? Are
- 9:13Speaker 1: you really determined as you think you are? Are you
- 9:17Speaker 1: really gonna trust in me like you say you trust
- 9:20Speaker 1: in me? Are you going to wait like you say
- 9:22Speaker 1: you're gonna wait? Are you gonna lose your patients and
- 9:26Speaker 1: go take matters into your own hands? Because I can't
- 9:29Speaker 1: tell you the mistakes I've made like that, I've taken
- 9:31Speaker 1: matters into my own hands and had some just messed
- 9:36Speaker 1: up everything, just rushing because I wanted now, so I,
- 9:40Speaker 1: you know, sign a deal here that ain't really that
- 9:43Speaker 1: good a deal, but I'm signing it because I need
- 9:45Speaker 1: to make this now. I need to try to push
- 9:47Speaker 1: this to happen. And and then and then when a
- 9:50Speaker 1: big deal was around the corner, I couldn't cause I
- 9:52Speaker 1: was into this little deal. Had I just waited, man,
- 9:56Speaker 1: Had I just waited and not not lost patience? Well, God,
- 10:00Speaker 1: half of me was just around the corner. And that's
- 10:03Speaker 1: what happens to a lot of us. We we lose
- 10:06Speaker 1: we lose sight of what we you know, there's you
- 10:09Speaker 1: ever heard, just heard people say, Look, if you're gonna
- 10:13Speaker 1: if you're gonna pray about it, don't worry about it.
- 10:17Speaker 1: If you're gonna worry about it, then don't pray about it.
- 10:20Speaker 1: And that's I was just in that cycle. I pray
- 10:23Speaker 1: about it, then wear myself to death, then where myself
- 10:27Speaker 1: didn't pray about it, and then I just got all
- 10:29Speaker 1: out of sing. But what I learned was that on
- 10:33Speaker 1: the road to success, you got to be prepared for
- 10:37Speaker 1: it to take a minute, and don't give up, because
- 10:41Speaker 1: right when something terrible is going down in your life,
- 10:44Speaker 1: there's a bright side somewhere, there is a turning point
- 10:48Speaker 1: for you. All it is is a test of your faith.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I had two women on my show the other day.
- 10:53Speaker 1: We're just sitting on stage just crying, man, because they
- 10:56Speaker 1: had been blindsided. Their husbands came in and just said
- 10:59Speaker 1: I'm leaving, I want a divorce, And they didn't see
- 11:02Speaker 1: it coming. And this one lady was saying, well, who
- 11:05Speaker 1: am I if I'm not his wife? Who am I?
- 11:08Speaker 1: She had a twenty one year old son, Who am
- 11:10Speaker 1: I if I'm not his wife? Well, you know what.
- 11:14Speaker 1: The long story. I had some experts here to give
- 11:17Speaker 1: him some help and what to do. This guy wrote
- 11:19Speaker 1: his wife a five and fifty dollar check and just
- 11:22Speaker 1: said here, here it is. I'm not giving you nothing else,
- 11:25Speaker 1: and he walked out. I said, oh my goodness, man,
- 11:28Speaker 1: this one was devastated, but that there's an opportunity here.
- 11:32Speaker 1: There's an opportunity in losing what you think is losing
- 11:35Speaker 1: your husband and your primary breadwin is a discuss A
- 11:38Speaker 1: is a chance to discover, well who am I? You know,
- 11:42Speaker 1: if you've been lost in this world talking about who
- 11:44Speaker 1: am I? If I'm not his wife? Well, here's a
- 11:48Speaker 1: gonna be a great time if you discover who you
- 11:50Speaker 1: really are. And then he could also be a great
- 11:52Speaker 1: time for you to discover a man that really does
- 11:55Speaker 1: love you and standing by you. Be All of my
- 11:57Speaker 1: successes have come off for heal is a great demise.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Think about it, y'all. Stay patient. God has always coming.
- 12:04Speaker 1: You're listening. Steve hay eight. Three minutes after that, I
- 12:11Speaker 1: welcome to ride, y'all, Steve Harvey Morning Show blasting all
- 12:16Speaker 1: this is Kate whatever that place is. I was gonna mispronouncing,
- 12:23Speaker 1: so I decided to pull up early. Then I thought connible, Kate, Carnival, Capri.
- 12:39Speaker 1: I just had a lot of them was going on,
- 12:42Speaker 1: and I said, that don't sound right. Yeah, it's a
- 12:49Speaker 1: great day. Um. I'm in the process of putting the
- 12:53Speaker 1: video together of it's gonna be a spoof on the
- 12:57Speaker 1: United Airlines debacle. Yeah, but I'm putting mine on paper
- 13:04Speaker 1: view per view. We gotta pay to see it, yeah,
- 13:09Speaker 1: changing ye, And then they tried to take Steve on

- 13:42Speaker 1: gonna start right after the little man run back to
- 13:45Speaker 1: the back of the plane and it's hiding behind that curtain.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Then they called my name and the and that's when
- 13:53Speaker 1: the pay per view start. When when can we get this?
- 14:02Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm working on it now. Okay, I
- 14:05Speaker 1: gotta come up with somebody I did. I gotta hit there,
- 14:09Speaker 1: and it ain't gonna be their house. It's only gonna
- 14:11Speaker 1: be like eight oh eight dollars and nine. You know,
- 14:15Speaker 1: it will be like a Floyd fighting Now. I ain't
- 14:17Speaker 1: gonna here. You gonna be more affordable. Eight. He's got
- 14:25Speaker 1: an intro on everything up when he when he comes

- 14:51Speaker 1: gonna open with me chasing the chicken. You're getting shape

- 15:13Speaker 1: Doesn't have changed. I know it's gonna be just gonna
- 15:16Speaker 1: be absolutely greatness though. I know it's gonna be so
- 15:21Speaker 1: the rocky theme music. And you started off chasing a chicken.
- 15:25Speaker 1: I'm chasing a chicken. It's so many places to go
- 15:32Speaker 1: from there. Yeah, man, as I was gonna start, Yeah,
- 15:38Speaker 1: and then it's gonna go black, and then you're gonna
- 15:40Speaker 1: hear like, you know, chirping, like swamp music. You know,
- 15:43Speaker 1: how you hear swamp music, then you're gonna hear that
- 15:52Speaker 1: scary yeah, like Jason, Ye see this, I'm visualize Yeah, okay,

- 19:12Speaker 1: re accommodate, and now he saw the tragedy. Now he
- 19:15Speaker 1: this is despicable, and I just think it's too me. Uh. Yeah,
- 19:21Speaker 1: you should never blame the passenger. You should never do

- 25:53Speaker 1: they minutes after that, we're back tomorrow. The soccer continues,
- 25:57Speaker 1: Oh my god, and now they're trying to take Willie
- 26:03Speaker 1: off the plane. Part two continued tomorrow, and we may
- 26:08Speaker 1: run this back later for those of you that missed it.
- 26:11Speaker 1: That was a fifth person that they was gonna take
- 26:15Speaker 1: off the plane on United. Willie Turner was on that
- 26:18Speaker 1: flight and then try to remove Willie Turner. And part
- 26:22Speaker 1: one was done earlier today. And just to let you
- 26:26Speaker 1: know how many parts it's gonna take, Willie is still
- 26:29Speaker 1: in his ship. Dude. Oh he's so black. That got
- 26:39Speaker 1: the fly because I've been out of work. All right,
- 26:44Speaker 1: We're gonna run that prank back. I got it for you.
- 26:45Speaker 1: It is the choir director. The choir director. Hello, Hello,
- 26:59Speaker 1: I'm trying to reach Lorenzo. Lorenzo played facing as calling Hi.
- 27:04Speaker 1: This is uh. I'm Bernard. I'm giving your call on
- 27:08Speaker 1: behalf of Missionary Baptist Church and uh doing a follow up.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Actually you you you've been the choir director there right
- 27:18Speaker 1: for what is it close to six years now five
- 27:22Speaker 1: and a half years, okay, And for my understanding, you're
- 27:26Speaker 1: doing a great job. Everyone seems to love what you're
- 27:28Speaker 1: doing on Sunday mornings, which is definitely a blessing for
- 27:31Speaker 1: the entire congregation. Right. So, what I was giving you
- 27:35Speaker 1: a call on is there seems to be a bit
- 27:37Speaker 1: of discrepancy with some of the antics that is going
- 27:41Speaker 1: on when you are directing the choir on Sunday mornings.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Away again. Now, no, no, come no, come again? You said, antics, Well,
- 27:50Speaker 1: some of the members. Who are you? Once again? I said,
- 27:53Speaker 1: my name is Bernard, and I'm actually calling on behind.
- 27:57Speaker 1: What's your last thing, sir? I'm not I'm not actually
- 28:00Speaker 1: a member of uhuh, but I've been asked to give
- 28:04Speaker 1: you a call and and bring some things to your
- 28:06Speaker 1: attention and and and deliver the news that the church
- 28:09Speaker 1: would like for you to have. Okay, what news that? Well,
- 28:12Speaker 1: let me let me get back to what I was.
- 28:14Speaker 1: I was stating that some people in the congregation are
- 28:16Speaker 1: actually having a problem with your antics when you're directing
- 28:20Speaker 1: to quy uh different things that they're not happy with.
- 28:23Speaker 1: It is a sorrowful moment, I should say, for me
- 28:26Speaker 1: to have to come to you and tell you that,
- 28:29Speaker 1: you know, as of today, which is Sunday, we're gonna
- 28:32Speaker 1: have to ask you to step down as the minister
- 28:35Speaker 1: of music. How want. Maybe I'm not hearing you correctly.
- 28:39Speaker 1: You have a problem with the Holy Spirit getting the
- 28:42Speaker 1: whole of me so direct the well, it's not necessarily
- 28:47Speaker 1: it's not the Holy Spirit at all. If you can
- 28:48Speaker 1: shot all day that has nothing to do with it.
- 28:51Speaker 1: I guess, just different antics that you have. You know
- 28:53Speaker 1: that the congregation is just not I need you to
- 28:56Speaker 1: be a little more clear on what you're saying. Please
- 29:00Speaker 1: tell me what you're saying. So is it that my
- 29:04Speaker 1: half too long? Is it that I look too cute
- 29:07Speaker 1: when I'm in the quad? What? What is it? So?
- 29:09Speaker 1: I'm not I don't want to hear it. Be I
- 29:11Speaker 1: want to go tick attack with you. Like I said,
- 29:13Speaker 1: I'm not a member. I want you to say it.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Please say it again. They fired me, they fired me today,
- 29:21Speaker 1: I want you to said. And I want to know
- 29:23Speaker 1: if the path to hide me, why didn't he fire me? Well,
- 29:28Speaker 1: you know, it's it's it's kind of like a business,
- 29:30Speaker 1: you know, it's it's um. The higher ups, uh really
- 29:34Speaker 1: really keep their hands cleaning on these type of things.
- 29:36Speaker 1: And there's always someone that has to deliver the message,
- 29:38Speaker 1: you know. And I'm and I you know what, And
- 29:41Speaker 1: I understand that, But I want you to explain to
- 29:44Speaker 1: me what answering. Please tell me, Please tell me so
- 29:49Speaker 1: I'm not listen. I'm not gonna sit no no, no, no,
- 29:51Speaker 1: no no no. You call to deliver the news. I
- 29:55Speaker 1: need to know what answer, Okay, are you wearing different
- 30:00Speaker 1: hair styles every other Sunday? Is is? Is your hair
- 30:03Speaker 1: just completely different? And to the nut shop, I've ever
- 30:07Speaker 1: said any morning, and I want to look to you
- 30:09Speaker 1: just like everybody else want to look cute on any morning,
- 30:12Speaker 1: right right? Problem with that, sir? Like I said, I'm
- 30:15Speaker 1: just a message. I don't have a problem with what
- 30:17Speaker 1: you know you're doing. Well. Who has a problem is
- 30:20Speaker 1: evidently people all the something I'm helpful good now that
- 30:23Speaker 1: I'm looking at it in Okay, let let me go
- 30:26Speaker 1: ahead and ask you something else. Are you wearing blue
- 30:30Speaker 1: contact lenses? I had on greater day. My day, I'm
- 30:33Speaker 1: super was great. So I had on great tonight. When
- 30:36Speaker 1: I was going back for the music, I was gonna
- 30:38Speaker 1: have my own green. You're gonna, sir, you, Lorenzo, you
- 30:44Speaker 1: were gonna wear green contact lenses? Okay? Well are they prescribed?
- 30:48Speaker 1: They prescribed if I bought them, Lorenzo. These other type
- 30:52Speaker 1: of antics that they're talking about. So y'all, I want
- 30:55Speaker 1: you to see I want you to see it. Y'n't see? Please?
- 30:59Speaker 1: Did I didn't say it? That's that's that's that that
- 31:04Speaker 1: never was stated, Lorenzo. But you ask me about my count.
- 31:08Speaker 1: You ask me my half, right, but I didn't ask
- 31:11Speaker 1: you about anything else though, Lorenzo, Well, I just want
- 31:15Speaker 1: you to get to the point. Please, sir, please, but
- 31:18Speaker 1: what are you representing the church or what your department?
- 31:22Speaker 1: I don't understand. I actually speak on behalf of past. Okay, well,
- 31:27Speaker 1: I tell you what you tell be called me himself
- 31:29Speaker 1: because I'm gonna show up at the musical tonight and
- 31:31Speaker 1: I'm gonna have my green contact on with my dreen. So, Lorenzo,
- 31:35Speaker 1: I'm asking you now not to show up for the
- 31:38Speaker 1: actual musical tonight. You definitely won't be what was going
- 31:42Speaker 1: happen for showing up. Y'all gonna put me. We can't
- 31:45Speaker 1: put you out of the lord towns, but what we
- 31:47Speaker 1: You won't be playing or participating in the musical. Y'all
- 31:50Speaker 1: trying to crucify me. Ain't nobody nobody's trying to crucify you.
- 31:54Speaker 1: I'll try to crucify me. Okay. You know when I'm
- 31:56Speaker 1: not going to go back and I'm soon cute for
- 31:59Speaker 1: all y'all. That's what the problem is. Hey, Look, I
- 32:01Speaker 1: don't have all day. I'm passing on the message and
- 32:05Speaker 1: that's clear I'm just letting you understand that your your
- 32:07Speaker 1: job is completely terminated at this point. Is that understood?
- 32:11Speaker 1: I'm not I'm coming to the program for life and
- 32:14Speaker 1: I'm gonna turn that. I've been remembered that for five
- 32:18Speaker 1: and a half years and we're gonna do it right.
- 32:21Speaker 1: I'll let you know who are I am. Wait? Wait,
- 32:24Speaker 1: this is what it's all a. It's about your antics.
- 32:28Speaker 1: That's my answers. This is what the congregation is talking
- 32:34Speaker 1: about you. Did you just hear what you're saying? You
- 32:37Speaker 1: have talks to me? Y'all fore fingers at me. So
- 32:41Speaker 1: I'm not pointing the finger at you, sir, Yeah, yeah,
- 32:44Speaker 1: get you point them at me. I'll tell you what
- 32:47Speaker 1: hold all one, because I'm called Wait just a minute.
- 32:50Speaker 1: I got one more thing to say before you do that.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Are you listening to me? Yeah, I'm listening to you, sir.
- 32:56Speaker 1: You're not gonna talk to me in that tone? Are you?
- 32:59Speaker 1: You're that call and disrespecting me with my hands. I
- 33:02Speaker 1: got one more thing I want to say to you.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Are you listening? I'm listening. This is nephew. You told
- 33:07Speaker 1: me from the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You just got
- 33:11Speaker 1: pranked by your entire man's choir. What nephew who this is?
- 33:19Speaker 1: This is nephew Tommy for the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Lord,
- 33:23Speaker 1: have mercy. Let me hang out. My house falls. I'm
- 33:27Speaker 1: kind of house right now, you're laughing. I want to
- 33:33Speaker 1: know who put you up? You all right? Man? Hey,
- 33:36Speaker 1: I'll know all right. I gotta get ready to put
- 33:40Speaker 1: the bad program to night. Well, there is a look
- 33:43Speaker 1: at us. Turn it out because they tell me, you
- 33:46Speaker 1: know how to turn a church out on Sunday morning.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Oh Lord, have mercy. You are right. I need you
- 33:55Speaker 1: tom me before you had that's what you need to do. Okay, Man,
- 34:01Speaker 1: I got one more question for you. What is man?
- 34:03Speaker 1: What is the baddest I'm talking about the badest radio
- 34:06Speaker 1: show in the land. The theme you're listening to The
- 34:15Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Martin Show and Johnny grown By. New Edition
- 34:28Speaker 1: will be performing at the Sand and Soul Festival in
- 34:30Speaker 1: the Bahamas. That's going down October six through the ninth.
- 34:33Speaker 1: We've been telling you about it, but did you know
- 34:36Speaker 1: that there is a cute new new addition coming to
- 34:39Speaker 1: New Addition all right? You may remember back in February,
- 34:42Speaker 1: Ron de Beaux of New Edition and BB d and
- 34:45Speaker 1: his wife Shamari, announced that they were expecting their first
- 34:49Speaker 1: child after eleven years of marriage. Well recently, Ronnie posted
- 34:54Speaker 1: a super eighties theme pregnancy pick. The couple is dressed
- 34:58Speaker 1: in red Adida's track suits with K goals. They're so adorable.
- 35:02Speaker 1: So congratulations to the to Ronnie and Shamari. We can't
- 35:06Speaker 1: wait to see the new Daddy to be Ronnie to
- 35:08Speaker 1: vote performing at the Sand and Soul Festival and if
- 35:12Speaker 1: you want more details, go to sand and Soul Festival
- 35:14Speaker 1: dot com. All right, Steve and everyone, what's your favorite
- 35:18Speaker 1: New Edition song? Oh? If it isn't love Baby, If
- 35:22Speaker 1: it isn't, yes, Sir, I like, um, You're not my

- 36:15Speaker 1: That was he was. Uh, so we don't be singing
- 36:22Speaker 1: word for word and ain't I'm gonna actually try to
- 36:26Speaker 1: get back up the end. That's cool, Ronnie Devote. Yeah, boy, congrats, congrats, congrats. Alright, Steve,
- 36:39Speaker 1: you want to bring in this in, ladies and gentlemen,
- 36:41Speaker 1: she's here for show the lovely talented Ms. Allen Trip.
- 36:47Speaker 1: That's thank you, Thank you, everybody, Good morning, everybody, morning, Steve, Shirley, Carla, Tommy, Julia,
- 36:53Speaker 1: This is and trop puts the news, you know. Tributes
- 36:55Speaker 1: to pouring in for comedian Charlie Murphy, who died yesterday
- 36:58Speaker 1: from leukemia at age fifty seven. Charlie Murphy was the
- 37:01Speaker 1: older brother of Eddie Murphy. He had an entertainment career,
- 37:03Speaker 1: though of his own. He was perhaps best known for
- 37:06Speaker 1: his appearances on The Dave Chappelle's Show, but he was
- 37:08Speaker 1: also in several movies. He also co wrote jokes and
- 37:11Speaker 1: scripts with his brother, like for the movie Vampire in Brooklyn.
- 37:14Speaker 1: And he did stand up like on The Arsenio Hall
- 37:16Speaker 1: Show to give me some rolling papers. Yes, I do
- 37:23Speaker 1: smoke weed every now and then every down and then
- 37:30Speaker 1: like once once an hour. Chris Rock tweeted that quote,
- 37:34Speaker 1: we just lost one of the funniest, most real brothers
- 37:36Speaker 1: of all time. Magic Johnson tweets I haven't seen anything
- 37:40Speaker 1: as funny as Charlie Murphy and Dave Chappelle's gets and
- 37:43Speaker 1: Hamilton's playwright Lynn Manuel Mirando tweeted that Murphy's storytelling was
- 37:47Speaker 1: hilarious and unforgettable. Charlie Murphy's wife died of cancer nine
- 37:51Speaker 1: years ago, and he leaves three children, ages eleven, eighteen,
- 37:54Speaker 1: and thirty one. You're not Airline CEO Oscar Mino still
- 37:58Speaker 1: on damage control in the wake of last Sunday forcible
- 38:00Speaker 1: removal of a passenger, a doctor, off an overbooked Chicago
- 38:04Speaker 1: flight to Kentucky to make room for an airline staffer
- 38:06Speaker 1: who had to get the airport there. A video of
- 38:09Speaker 1: the incident caused the international outrage and a drop in
- 38:11Speaker 1: the airline stock price, especially because it's seen them when
- 38:14Speaker 1: yours took two days to make an apology. He now
- 38:16Speaker 1: says on ABC's Good Morning America that he was ashamed.
- 38:19Speaker 1: The first thing I think it's important to say is
- 38:22Speaker 1: to apologize to doctor down, miss family, the passengers on
- 38:27Speaker 1: that flight. Our customers are employees. That is not who
- 38:31Speaker 1: our family at United is, and the airline has also
- 38:34Speaker 1: announced that it's offering compensation to all the passengers who
- 38:37Speaker 1: are on that flight. Fox News TV house Bill O'Reilly
- 38:40Speaker 1: is taking a vacation, effective immediately. Fox claims that this
- 38:43Speaker 1: time off had already been planned. Riley, of course, is
- 38:47Speaker 1: under fire though right now, because of a number of
- 38:48Speaker 1: women who have separately accused him of sexually harassing them.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Similar charges against Fox chairman Roger Ales led to his
- 38:54Speaker 1: ouster going to The New York Times. O'Reilly and Fox
- 38:57Speaker 1: have shelled out about thirteen million dollars so far to
- 38:59Speaker 1: so will pass sexual harassment the allegations. Riley has denied
- 39:03Speaker 1: all the claims, saying that he's a target because he's
- 39:06Speaker 1: rich and famous. And now yet another woman who had
- 39:08Speaker 1: audition for a spot on his show has also filed
- 39:11Speaker 1: the suit, and some forty advertisers have pulled away from
- 39:14Speaker 1: a Riley's show, so Fox is now spreading those commercials
- 39:16Speaker 1: to play on other shows. It looks like Donald Trump
- 39:20Speaker 1: is a sing in a different tune now, as it
- 39:22Speaker 1: pertains to NATO when he was running for President, Trump's
- 39:24Speaker 1: whole a lot of time, bashing the North American treaty allizes, Oh,
- 39:27Speaker 1: they're terrible, they're obsolete, they're waste of time, blah blah blah.
- 39:30Speaker 1: But Trump now speaks in glowing terms about NATO and
- 39:33Speaker 1: how supportive it was when he ordered air strikes over Syria.
- 39:36Speaker 1: We are grateful for the support of NATO members and
- 39:39Speaker 1: partners in their condemnation of Besides murderous attack using the
- 39:44Speaker 1: most horrible weapons, the vicious slaughter of innocent civilians with
- 39:48Speaker 1: chemical weapons, including the barbaric killing of small and helpless
- 39:52Speaker 1: children and babies, must be forcefully rejected by any nation
- 39:57Speaker 1: that values human life, and Trump as a that other
- 40:00Speaker 1: NATO members need to meet their financial allegations, step up
- 40:02Speaker 1: and pay with their home. A North Miami police officer
- 40:06Speaker 1: has been charged with attempted manslaughter and negligence. You probably
- 40:09Speaker 1: remember this story for shooting an unarmed black man last
- 40:11Speaker 1: summer who was a behavioral therapist as the guy tried
- 40:14Speaker 1: to calm his patient and get him back to a
- 40:16Speaker 1: group home. Prosecutors say that video shows officer Johnson A.
- 40:20Speaker 1: Leila shooting Charles Kinsey while Kinsey was on his back
- 40:24Speaker 1: with his hands raised. A police union spokesman initially claimed
- 40:27Speaker 1: that Officer A Later was aiming at Mr. Kinsey's patient
- 40:30Speaker 1: are not osto out of concern for Kinsey's life, but
- 40:34Speaker 1: just missed and hit Kinsey accidentally. But Kinsey says he
- 40:37Speaker 1: asked the officer later, sir, why did you shoot me?
- 40:40Speaker 1: And that A Letter said I don't know, and after
- 40:43Speaker 1: that Mr Kinsey was handcuffed. He said, face down on
- 40:46Speaker 1: the ground for about twenty minutes as his leg bled
- 40:49Speaker 1: out from a gunshot wound. So he says he doesn't
- 40:52Speaker 1: think that was an accident at all. In Birmingham, Alabama,
- 40:55Speaker 1: Megachurch is now one step closer to having its own
- 40:58Speaker 1: police force, something that would be without resident. The Alabama
- 41:01Speaker 1: State Senate overwhelmingly yesterday okay the measure which allows the
- 41:05Speaker 1: Briarwood Presbyterian Church to hire police officers who would have
- 41:08Speaker 1: the same powers that other cops do, with church elders
- 41:11Speaker 1: saying that they need law enforcement to protect their large
- 41:14Speaker 1: congregation as well as the children who attend their church school.
- 41:17Speaker 1: The bill now heads to the State Senate at the
- 41:20Speaker 1: State House and represents is rather where it's expected to
- 41:22Speaker 1: be passed and the governor is expected to sign it.
- 41:24Speaker 1: They're calling it a high stakes mystery. Workers in Ohio
- 41:27Speaker 1: library say more than thirty bottles of a one steak
- 41:29Speaker 1: sauce have found all around the library, in bottles of
- 41:32Speaker 1: tucked and potted plans and conference rooms, behind newspaper, magazines
- 41:36Speaker 1: and books. Maybe maybe someone's trying to leave a message.
- 41:39Speaker 1: I don't want a debate, don't want a girl about.
- 41:43Speaker 1: We're trying to eat. You will get notice till you
- 41:47Speaker 1: clean out door plate. Eat it. Steve Barb Morning Show,
- 41:52Speaker 1: all right, thank you, miss Anne, We appreciate you. Is
- 41:54Speaker 1: always coming up at eighteen after the hour. The butterfly
- 41:58Speaker 1: or oatmeal, one of them is up next with the
- 42:01Speaker 1: day's blog. I think it's gonna be oatmeal. Though you're
- 42:05Speaker 1: listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show, ladies and gentlemen,
- 42:09Speaker 1: the butterfly blog is next. Yes, living every moment a
- 42:15Speaker 1: girl's smelling for I'm like, oh, yes, I'm blessed. Oh
- 42:25Speaker 1: good morning everyone, Stephen, Timey, Shirley, Carl Jr. Today it's
- 42:29Speaker 1: supposed to be open this day, but he's out sick today,
- 42:31Speaker 1: so I am in for him. Okay, all right, hiding man,
- 42:36Speaker 1: that can't be happening. Yes, he's not feeling well. Uh well,
- 42:42Speaker 1: butter Butterfly. Thank you for the rest of you all seeing.
- 42:47Speaker 1: Good morning, Good morning, Carl, Good morning, Eugene j You're
- 42:50Speaker 1: how are you this morning? Man? I'm outstaying. How you doing?

- 52:38Speaker 1: me and she can do he Hello, I'm trying to
- 52:53Speaker 1: reach your sister. How you doing. I'm giving you a
- 52:58Speaker 1: call on behalf of uh Baptist Church. You are a
- 53:02Speaker 1: member there? Am I right? Okay? Listen um, I'm calling you.
- 53:07Speaker 1: They they are some of the members have gotten together
- 53:10Speaker 1: and had a meeting and wanted me to give you
- 53:12Speaker 1: a call. It seems that a lot of them are
- 53:17Speaker 1: complaining about Sunday services that go on and wanted for
- 53:22Speaker 1: me to give you a call on their behalf so
- 53:25Speaker 1: that we can see if we can address the problem
- 53:27Speaker 1: and talk to you diligently as possible and try to
- 53:30Speaker 1: get the problem rectified. What's going on, Well, it seems
- 53:35Speaker 1: like that a lot of members are complaining. I'm sorry,
- 53:40Speaker 1: and what is your name against? My name is Mah.
- 53:44Speaker 1: I'm not actually a member of the church. I've just
- 53:46Speaker 1: been the one that they've been asked to give you
- 53:48Speaker 1: a call and try to talk on the members behalf,
- 53:50Speaker 1: so maybe we can get this problem rectify that you
- 53:54Speaker 1: that they have. Uh, as far as you are concerned, Okay,
- 53:57Speaker 1: go ahead. What I'm just trying to see what this
- 53:58Speaker 1: is in regards to go ahead, Well, it seems like
- 54:01Speaker 1: the members of the church are complaining about that you're
- 54:05Speaker 1: doing too much shouting at church on Sunday, and it
- 54:09Speaker 1: seems to be going on every Sunday. You're running up
- 54:11Speaker 1: and down the aisle and you're shouting all over the place.
- 54:14Speaker 1: And it's me. I've been singled out about my shouting. Wellever,
- 54:20Speaker 1: THENDY is distracting, man, You're distracting everyone from getting the
- 54:24Speaker 1: word and listening to the word and being involved in
- 54:26Speaker 1: the service, and that's the purpose of the call is
- 54:29Speaker 1: to see if we can get you to tone it
- 54:31Speaker 1: down something. Okay, So the whole church is complaining about
- 54:34Speaker 1: me shouting the way people run up and down them
- 54:36Speaker 1: off every Sunday and almost playing cart wheels and flips,
- 54:40Speaker 1: and they're singling me. I complained about me. Well, ma'am,
- 54:44Speaker 1: I don't know how it is that you can see
- 54:46Speaker 1: everybody else doing cart wheels when you're the ones that
- 54:48Speaker 1: they say is the one that's doing them. Singled out. Man,
- 54:52Speaker 1: all I'm saying is that they're saying that you're doing
- 54:55Speaker 1: too much shouting and too much running at this church.
- 54:57Speaker 1: Now I'm just the message. Well, they can't tell me
- 55:01Speaker 1: how to shout. They don't. They can't tell me what's
- 55:03Speaker 1: going on in my life? What's gonna keep me from
- 55:05Speaker 1: praising God? And they, I mean, they could just they
- 55:08Speaker 1: could go somewhere else with that, but they're not gonna
- 55:10Speaker 1: tell me that I can't praise my God. They don't
- 55:12Speaker 1: know how good God has been to me. And you
- 55:14Speaker 1: know what, I understand that I agree with you wholeheartedly,
- 55:17Speaker 1: but it's becoming a distraction. I mean, they was at
- 55:21Speaker 1: the point last night talking about should we put some
- 55:23Speaker 1: seatbelts on the pews so so you can stay down
- 55:27Speaker 1: some sea high They're gonna tell people they can't shout
- 55:29Speaker 1: in church, Embrace God? What what do we call the
- 55:32Speaker 1: church for? You do come to? We need to be
- 55:34Speaker 1: trying to praise God and get they all shout on
- 55:36Speaker 1: and stop looking at me and about what I'm doing.
- 55:38Speaker 1: We're gonna need you to quit running up and down
- 55:41Speaker 1: these aisles and doing what you're not. I'm sorry, you know,
- 55:44Speaker 1: I'm trying to stay calm. I'm trying my best. Who
- 55:48Speaker 1: Jesus es sure that that's not happy? You can't tell
- 55:52Speaker 1: me I gotta stop shouting. Okay, man, But let me
- 55:54Speaker 1: ask you. Are you running now? Aren't you just standing still? Talking?
- 55:57Speaker 1: But I don't have to run right now? Okay, What
- 56:00Speaker 1: I'm trying to get you to do, like if I
- 56:02Speaker 1: want to run up and down this street right now,
- 56:04Speaker 1: I can run up and down the street and place God.
- 56:06Speaker 1: But they're not gonna tell me to stop telling at church?
- 56:08Speaker 1: Can we get you to be a little bit more
- 56:10Speaker 1: reserved as what we see? Man, let me let me
- 56:12Speaker 1: go ahead and go further on what they do spirit moves. Okay, Well,
- 56:17Speaker 1: let me move and tell you what they've told me. Now,
- 56:21Speaker 1: if we can't get to the point where you can,
- 56:23Speaker 1: you know, tone it down, then we may have to
- 56:26Speaker 1: ask you to leave. To ask me, Jesus, Jesus, you
- 56:33Speaker 1: let them ask me. Why don't they want me to
- 56:35Speaker 1: leave the church. I've been at that church for sixteen years.
- 56:39Speaker 1: I'm not leaving the church. I'm gonna run up and down.
- 56:41Speaker 1: I'm not gonna on the church even tell me where
- 56:44Speaker 1: I feel like, not not not not listen, that's all.
- 56:49Speaker 1: I'm okay, go ahead, I'm gonna be there. I'm going
- 56:52Speaker 1: to I am going to be there on Sunday. Man,
- 56:55Speaker 1: and I have been the person that's been appointed to
- 56:58Speaker 1: make sure that you're not running up and down in
- 57:00Speaker 1: these elves and shotting like this. You're got to keep
- 57:02Speaker 1: yourself reserved so people can hear the word of God.
- 57:05Speaker 1: You are standing in people's word. That's what you're doing.
- 57:07Speaker 1: You're in the whale I want. If they come trying
- 57:09Speaker 1: to send me down, I'm gonna get them a word
- 57:11Speaker 1: and ain't gonna be your God. So to put that
- 57:13Speaker 1: hands up on me here, not listen. I'm trying to
- 57:15Speaker 1: hear that. Now you get that I haven't been in
- 57:18Speaker 1: that church fifteen years. If I want to run, dance, shout, jump,
- 57:22Speaker 1: whatever I want to do, I'm gonna doing it. Ain't
- 57:24Speaker 1: nobody gonna stop me. You're gonna have to stop this.
- 57:27Speaker 1: This past Sunday was your last Sunday doing it, and
- 57:30Speaker 1: you're not gonna do with this sney Like I said,
- 57:33Speaker 1: just why, And I'm telling you can tell the unshoes,
- 57:35Speaker 1: the deacon boy, the deaconess, the minister's wives or who
- 57:38Speaker 1: all asked you want to tell let him put their
- 57:40Speaker 1: hands on me and see if I don't swing on them,
- 57:42Speaker 1: I'm gonna run about the spirit and swing on I'm
- 57:45Speaker 1: telling you that there because he said, you don't really
- 57:47Speaker 1: push me that I have tried. Just let me ask
- 57:50Speaker 1: you this here where you trying to show that I'm saying,
- 57:53Speaker 1: but you make it you if you're making me reverted
- 57:55Speaker 1: back to my own ways and you you really gonna off,
- 57:58Speaker 1: that's what you're gonna do. Okay, When let me ask
- 58:00Speaker 1: you this, what is the God at right now? And
- 58:03Speaker 1: you where is the one that said it was the
- 58:05Speaker 1: God was faring me when I was trying to be
- 58:07Speaker 1: called you had fired to tell you know me calling
- 58:09Speaker 1: me with this polishness. But now you have made the
- 58:12Speaker 1: other side of me rose up. Well, you wouldn't raise
- 58:14Speaker 1: it up, and you wouldn't raise it up in me too.
- 58:16Speaker 1: Guess what come sounding You're gonna set you in a
- 58:19Speaker 1: pew and you ain't gonna you know when you call
- 58:22Speaker 1: yourself on pe Okay, I like im be gonna see
- 58:27Speaker 1: how well I'm not sitting at people, not a say,

- 1:01:20Speaker 1: tell his behind. What should I do? I do not
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: want my brothers to go to prison. She thinks she
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: has grown now because she is eighteen and will not listen.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: My mother does not want this to get out for
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: fear of ruining my niece's reputation and the family name.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: I think he needs to be reminded of how old
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: he is. First, just because a person turns eighteen certainly
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: does not mean they are mature. Enough to do and
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: or handle adult situations. The second thing is, you can't
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: act this way young eighteen year old lady in someone
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: else's home eighteen or not. You still have to follow
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: their rules under their roof. And this virgin counselor school
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: count sir, Uh, he's really out of line. I mean,
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: let's just put it on the line. He's really out
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: of line. And he's old enough to know that this
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: is wrong what he's doing. He said he has no
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: intentions on pursuing a relationship, and if he does, and
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: if he does, to me right there means that he's
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: thought about it, or he's thinking about it, and it's
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: in the back of his mind. I say tell everyone
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: you can. Your brother's the pastor uh, and you need
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: to talk to this man as well. He has no
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: reason to be with your with your niece. He's thirty two,
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: she's eighteen. Um, he needs to be stopped. His intentions
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: need to be exposed. Your niece's reputation will really be
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: ruined if she continues to hang out with him. It's ridiculous, Steve,
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: I don't have a lot of time, so I'm just
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: gonna get right to the gist of this. Whole thing
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: when she found out that it was a thirty two
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: year old counselor, and the counselor came to the house
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: to explain. First of all, he came to the house
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: to explain, to explain what he came to your house
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: to make an excuse up. He says he is a
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: virgin and that they are just friends. What did you
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: have a verge you, being a virgin, have to do this?
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: And why do we have to sit up here and
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: believe that you are a virgin? You are just trying
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: to create the impression that you are virtue was I'm
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: not falling for this dog. You're thirty two and you're
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: gonna tell a guy I'm a virgin and then we
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: are just friends friends. He has no intentions of pursuing
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: a relationship. You in one. Now you got this girl
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: out at three o'clock in the morning. You're not pursuing it.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: You're in the relationship. Now, what you didn't took to
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: see your mama house fall, That's what a relationship is.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: I have no intentions of pursuing her, and if he
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: it will not be why she's still in school. He's
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: setting y'all up for what it is. It's the relationship
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: is on and cracking right now. I have a solution
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: for you when we come back. All right, after the
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: break at eighteen after the hour, Part two of Steve's
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: response to today's Strawberry Letters. You're listening Steve Show. All right, y'all? Uh,
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: I got part to this letter coming up next. Hunt
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: the old counsel it's thirty swords. Your female has his
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: niece that she's raised, his own daughter and a student.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: Had no problems until a few months ago she turned eighteen.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: She's been staying out at three o'clock in the morning. Finally,
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: her mother confronts her about this, and she admits that
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: she's been out with her thirty two year old counselor
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: from school, and the lady talks to the man. He
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: came to the house to explain. He says he's a virgin.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: He said to day, just friends. He has no intentions
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: of pursuing a relationship, and if he does, it will
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: not be while she's in school. They text, she's been
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: to his house, they go out bowling. He's taken up
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: to the next time to see where his mother lives. Okay,
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: excuse me, that's dating that's a relationship. Everybody that's ever
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: been in one, all of us has been in one,
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: has bold with somebody. We like, talk him by to
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: mama's house. You know, you come to my house. Students
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: don't do that with teachers. If you go over teacher's houses,
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: usually a mentoring type relationship, that can't happen. That's not
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: what he says he's doing. He doesn't say he's a
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: mentoring He says if he does pursue her, it is,
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: it'll be not why she's in school. He's letting you
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: know that something's going on, but it's completely harmless. And
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: he told the little thing in the front that I'm
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: a virgin to to throw you off. Now the mother
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: wants to do something. He is also the minister of
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: music at his church. If your brother finds out, someone
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: gonna get seriously. Now her mother wants to tell his pastor.
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: But see she's worried though. She don't want this to
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: get out for fear of ruining her niece's reputation and
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: the family name. That's the line that kills me in
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: this letter. Why old people are always worried about somebody's
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: reputation and they damn family name. What's your family name
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: got to do with this? You, mama, you're worrying about
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: the wrong thing. You need to be worrying about. This
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: girl's not her reputation in the family name. What about
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: her future? What about if she gets pregnant? What about
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: her she's emotionally scarred? What is this? Old asked? Dudes?
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: Real intentions? See here? What you need to do? You
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: ain't gotta worry about it. You need to tell everybody.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: Let me let me ask this man something right here
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: in case he's listening, it's thirty two year old, counselor
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: if what you're doing is so appropriate, if the school
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: officials knew about this, what they think it was appropriate,
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: If your pastor of your church find out and the
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: rest of the choir, what they think it's appropriate. What
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: this woman's brothers think it's appropriate. Because I can assure
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: you they ain't gonna think it's appropriate. They're gonna know
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: just what it is. Because we as me and we
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: know already we need to whip his ass. That's what
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: we know we need to do. So because you say,
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: you say, I think he needs to be reminded of
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: how old he is. Well, the best reminded of me,
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: would be your brothers. I say tell a matter of fact,
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: I say tell everybody. Let's tell the school officials, let's
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: tell the pastor make the announcement in choir rehearsal. And
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: then let's let your brothers so we can help remind him. See,
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: maybe the school officials need to remind him that he's
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: too old for this behavior. The church could remind it,
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: but your brothers could really bring the message home best.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: And I know you don't want your brothers to go
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: to prison, so tell him, don't kill a man. We
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: gotta do this, but let's talk re allowed today. Strawberry
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: letter is posted on Steve Harvey dot com. You can tweeter,
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: instagram me your thoughts at my girl Shirley now coming

- 1:14:00Speaker 1: it was. Yeah. Yeah. I set up there and just

- 1:14:08Speaker 1: my knees too, you know, because I've been learning how
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: to text, and I just tap tap tape down that
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: s m m f h what what what what is that? Yeah? Okay,
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: yeah stm m and was texted head was the last word.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: The first. My knees taught me how to tech. W
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: just to say some things without saying it. I said, Lord,
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: this is tragic right here. Wanted that man down off
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: of that out of that chair like that, dragging him
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: down out and busting him in his mouth, and needed
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: to run back on the green like that ride to
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: hide behind the curtain. I said, if you don't get
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: your ass from behind that curtin, you don't really there,
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: Well they pull you out the chat, They're gonna pull

- 1:15:22Speaker 1: just hauling. Oh my god, Oh my god, wasn't doing
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: a damn thing though, ain't nobody to try to help it.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: But what could she do? Really? I mean, what could
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: they do? They could have jumped in the police officers.

- 1:15:40Speaker 1: in my name. Could ain't a night I'm could have
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: just jumped it. Okay, But they don't want none of
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: that mace. I don't want that masa that stick. Uh
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: sad what they these airlines is losing their mind. I
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: wish you would grab meet you, grab meat. I'll tell
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: you what. Get done that all on my cane, be

- 1:19:46Speaker 1: talk about Shade, I mean, it was just too much.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: And your girl Kenya, she couldn't wait to get to
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: the chateau so she could just knit pick house talking
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: about him. Yes, even was just ugly. Now Kenya wanted
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: to nitpick everything that was going on wrong or what
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: was wrong with Sharay's house, like base boards missing base boards,
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: or the closet, the size of the closet, like fixtures,
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: and Kenya was basically trying to pay Saray back when
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: she went to Kenya's house exactly and more manner and
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: kind of talked about her house. So it was not nice.
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: It was not nice. Who got the bomb house out
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: of the two days. If you had to pick one
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: um Shary's houses, it looks bigger then Kenya's house. But
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: Kenya's house is very very nice too, Yeah, very nice.
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: And then different styles, different tastes and different more modern contemporary,
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: and then say is more traditional elegance a little bit? Yeah,
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: I'll take both of you, neither house. I'm not mad
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: at it. Now, Faedre ex husband or husband Apollo. His
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: new girlfriend is on the scene, so I know you
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: need to let that marinate a yes, yes, he is
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: in prison and he has a girlfriend. Now. Last week
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: Todd and Candy they had like a little party for
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: their restaurant. What did she say? What did he say, Well,
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: to get a girlfriend from prison. Well, she just basically
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: saying that that Pedro wasn't around, and so she's been
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: visiting him for two years going up to prison. Yes,
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: she said, Phedro has only been there twice. And Apollo
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: basically called while this girl was at this restaurant party
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: and told everyone, Todd and everybody that pretty much Phedro
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: a lot about the divorce because Phaedra said that her
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: divorce from Apollo is final, and Apolo says the divorce
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: is not final and they're still some litigation going on,
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: which kind of contradicted what Phedro was saying. So it's
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: a lot of stuff going on with Phedra. And Candy
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: talked to Phaedra at the party and she basically asked
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: her about lawsuits. You know, Candy is being sued by
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: a former employer employee and it's just a lot of
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: drama and Phedre is involved in that. And Candy asked
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: her former friend, are you involved in this? And Phaedra
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: said no, I'm an attorney. I can't talk about it.
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: But it was shape she was lying and so she's
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: lying about that. She's lying about the situation with her divorce.
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: So rumor has it now Steve that for this reunion
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: show that's coming up this Sunday and the other you
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: know how they have more than one reunion episode that
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: Phaedra has been and fired from Real's Housewives of It
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: didn't not get renewed. So for Learne, yeah, let me
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: move on to love and hip hop and Atlanta. Steve,
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: now your boys. Stevie J. It seems like he's really maturing.
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: Steve wants to get things right with his children and
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: be a family. Now. His daughters they told their father
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: that he needs to make up with their son, Dorian.
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: It seems like Stevie J and his son, they've had
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: this feud going on for about a year. It played
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: out on social media, radio show interviews, and Stevie's son
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: he feels like that his father just wasn't there for
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: him take a lesson. My son was way out of
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: line for aeronaut problems. But I gotta take a minute
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: to realize some of the things he was talking about
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: talking about me miss some birthdays and Little league games.
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: So looking back, understand why you feel like I didn't care,
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: but at the time I was focused on provide for him.
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: I thought that was the right thing to be doing.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: You really feel like you know what I'm saying. I
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: wasn't there. I was supposed to be there and all that.
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: How it is how I was. I understand he was
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: working and all that. That's what it was. When I
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: was there physically, I was there financially. You know what,
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: I don't really cut it. A lot of times, I
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: not know disrespect. I respect everything you did. I mean,
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: I know he was out doing you had to do.
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: It wasn't just for me, is for all of us,
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: and I needed you that A lot of stuff I
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: had to teach myself. I ain't taking that away from
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: monetarily doesn't cover me physically being there and all that.
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: But we can't change the past. We could just move
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: forward and do better in the future. And that's what
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: I'm on now. That's probat of the reason I'm here.
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: So that's good. That's no man, that's good. That's good. Coach.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: I understand both of them got valid, valiant points. But
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: like to Do said, I had to teach myself some stuff. Dorian,
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: you can't learn manhood on your own. It's too difficult. Stevie.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: Basically he was telling his son that he was. He
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: went on to say that he was proud of his
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: son and that Dorian is a father himself, and that
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: he's happy that he's doing the right thing with his son.
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: And Stevie J. Wants to be in his grandson's life,
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: you know, and get all his kids together, especially with
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: Jocelyn expecting all the people on all the reality show. Yeah,
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: I like Stevie J. Man, Yeah, I like man Steven J. Dude,
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: You're like, who lean his baby? Mama? Who dr Lane? Not?
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: Have they gonna think theyn't act like they do l
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: nothing sounds like a female tongue tied. Yes, what joll
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: Slene tell Tell everybody what's coming up next? We got
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: the deacon the path of coming up? The deacon what
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: that pops up? She was saying that even I don't
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: understand that. Give me back at eighteen thought that the
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: hour you're listening to the Steve Hardy Morning Show. Coming
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: up next, pastor Motown Deacon death Jam in the building
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: always late. I am Reverend Mood and I am Deacon
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: death Jam. We are from the Church of Future Tomorrow.
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: Oh bring you a shiny look into the future, just
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: a peak. We're horrid. Let us begin with someone who
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: hasn't yet earned your trust, may not deserve it. Be wary,
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: stop right down. Somebody you know ain't worth dance. Don't
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: trust him, Okay, don't trust me. Got some kinfulk back
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: in Virginia. Hey, you're it's the small details that will
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: cause the biggest problems today, So pay attention. Stop right there.
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: I can't find the words to say on the radio.
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: Take your time pasta But there's an old streets saying
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: that big blank popping got little blank stopping. I don't
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: know what street you're from. You may not be familiar
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: to fill in the blank. Could tell by the reaction
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: from the congregation over Jerusalem you were not with me
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: on that. That's right, that's right. That is because clearly
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: you don't know the one, and clearly you are the arguing. Again.
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: I don't mean in direspect. That's all right. We all
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: got to come from something that's right. That's right. Scr say,
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: if you stuck in planning mode today, make it a
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: group a fair get a conscipt stop right down. The
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: word is get a consistuent. Well, what what what? What
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: that means? I did not have talked to you detail
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: about doing all the way? What? What? What? What? What? What? What?

- 1:29:19Speaker 1: knew I was a third when you chose me. I
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: wanted you to practice and at least get up to
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: fifth grade. Okay, Well what is the word? Once again?
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: It is consisous? And and what if them get together
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: with a ruple of folks that have census and that
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: have a conscience too. Passion, that's all it is and
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: con means to come together. That's a concisus. Okay, wary
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: arey seek the comfort of your home and family. They
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: need your attention right now, stop right now? Okay, why
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: don't you cant your asshole? That's right? Are you out
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: in the street, but your family needs you? Ratting? They
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: at home? Home, breath, seek ye the comfort of your home.
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: Hor house ain't much comfort, especially when he sticking his
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: key in the door. The house is not a home
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: if there's no one there a You need to seek
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: the comfort of your own home. Oh you might be
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: comfortable at her house not but oh when you hear
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: the key rattling in the door, come on here, now
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: when you hear the car pull up in the dry
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: come on now, when her cell phone rang and she
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: started looking crazy, staying in out pasta ah, when you
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: hear her mention her, buddy, it's about to come back.
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: Be you d D why yes, if you will? Maybe
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: she got more than one, buddy, you just one of many.
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: You're trying to seek comforting arms of a hard when
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: you leave me to carry your ass home. You must
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: listen to this in the words of my young brother
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: on the radio, or bit lipsty where the most eloquently
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: placed it be you d D i S stands for
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: booty with the understanding, but it doesn't directly into feel
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: or evolved or Beyonce set. So once she mentioned, buddy, all,
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: hey about to break loose my mind, my mind home
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: those at a churchill open. You're listening to the Steve
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. That a folkmus hap that week back
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: tapny bag back, just happening back by job coming up.
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: We got time for this one. Most thing. We could
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: travel to space if you could afford it. Hell, now
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: you're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. Yeah we are hot, hot, hot,
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: coming up. We're gonna wrap up the show. This is
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: our last break of the day with some We'll be
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: back with some final thoughts from Steve Man. Condolens Is.
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: Condolens Is, go out to the Murphy family. Eddie's brother passed,
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: Charlie Murphy. Uh, it's never easy. I didn't I didn't
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: really know Charlie well at all, just a couple of
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: times meeting, you know, always congenial though. He was just
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: one of them good brothers. Man. He's an excellent writer, man,
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: excellent writer. Uh. But he was loved man. And it's
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: never easy when somebody passes. It is no um. You know,
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: there are no real words that you can give a person,
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: you know, the hanging now Okay, I mean they're doing
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: the best they can. What what else can you say? Uh,
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: I've lost some key people in my life. People always
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: like to use cliche lines like you know they're in
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: a better place now. Well, when they said that about
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: my mama, I actually thought a better place was her
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: upstairs and her rocking chair watching TV. To be honest
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: with you, that's why I thought the better place was
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: when I first got the news. So that didn't really
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: do anything for me. I have several feels that's going
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: through though grieving stage. Right now, have a very good
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: friend of mine whose mother just passed. I had one
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: of my main boys who his father passed uh the
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: evening before, and the next morning his wife's mother passed.
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: So now I'm sitting here looking at them. And you know,
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: normally you go to your spouse for comfort, somebody hold you,
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: But when you gotta hold each other, that's kind of unimaginable. Man.
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: So you know, we send our condolences out to people
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: that's grieve. Everybody on this show has lost somebody, very
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: very dear to them, you know, and we we know
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: all too well the feeling of it. But in times
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: like this, man, you just have to you just have
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: to know this one fact that in time it will
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: get better. It does get better. Oh it don't feel
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: like it right now, No it don't. No, it don't.
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: From the time I got the news of my loved
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: one's death and the time they went in the ground
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: was the most agonizing weak of my life. I couldn't
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: really I couldn't really do it, man, I didn't understand it.
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: I just you know, nothing nobody said to me was working.
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: Nothing nobody said to me was working. You hear me nothing,
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: And so in moments like this, man, I usually wait
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: to reach out to people, you know, to give them
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: that initial time, because during that initial time, you're processing
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: so many things and it's just difficult. So our condolences
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: go out to the Murphy family, but our condolences go
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: out to everybody's out there struggling with the loss of
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: somebody and they don't have to have that's lost. Sometimes
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: you struggle with the loss over and over and over
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: and over and over, and then long periods of time
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: go by and you still struggling with it. And I
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: can't tell you that you never stopped struggling. I will
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: tell you that you will get better at handling it.
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: That you will some longer than others, but eventually time,
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: time will help you understand the process that you have
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: to move on, you know. I mean, look, you know
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: we left here. We gotta keep going because there's so
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: many people counting on us, you know, so as difficult
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: as it is, you have to keep their faith. And
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: like my T shirt says, faith don't make it easy,
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: Faith makes it possible. So y'all just have to remember
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: that in your hour of need and when you're grieving
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: and if you ain't lost with the other person's lost
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: quick walking up to people thinking you got some magic
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: words for him, because you ain't, Because you ain't. Because
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: half of these situations, if you ain't been in this situation,
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: you can't know what this feels like. I know one
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: time I was crying over my mother three years after
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: she passed, and a girl I knew said she saw
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: me crying one day. She said, why are you crying herself?
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: I was just thinking about my mother, how she's How
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: long your mother been gone? I said three years? She said,
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: you still crying. I looked at her. I just shook
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: my head. I said, see, you don't know. You have
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: no idea what this is, and until it happens to you,
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: you really can't tell nobody what that feels like. So
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: when you know somebody's grieving, tell him you're praying for him.
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: I just merely say in time, it's gonna get better, man,
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: just stay with it. That's the best I can do
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: for them. And every now and then I sent him
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: a note about a feeling I was feeling, like a
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: week after ten days after. How I handled it, not
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: just saying they're gonna use it, but if it can
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: help him, then that's what I do. So once again,
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: our condolences go out to the Murphy family and everybody
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: out there is guaving to my boy Will Phoenix and
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: his family. Um, just everybody out there. Man, they're struggling
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: with it right now. Y'all keep your head up. Faith
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: don't make it easy. Faith makes it possible. You feel me? Okay? Um? Well,
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: once again, have a great weekend, Resurrection weekend. It's a
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: big yes. Yeah, he lives. He lives, and so should you.
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: Y'all have a great weekend. For all Steve Harvey contests,
