Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / Trump on Deportations, Can Daniel Penny take on the People that went after him & Border Wall up for Grabs Week In Review
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:01Speaker 2: It is Verdict with Ted Cruz and the weekend Review
- 0:04Speaker 2: Ben Ferguson with you and man. Was it a crazy
- 0:06Speaker 2: week when it comes to big breaking news and we
- 0:09Speaker 2: covered it all and here are some of the highlights
- 0:11Speaker 2: you may have missed. First up, Donald Trump, not afraid
- 0:14Speaker 2: of the media, sitting down on Meet the Press for
- 0:16Speaker 2: an exclusive one on one interview talking about mass deportations
- 0:20Speaker 2: and how he's going to do it.
- 0:22Speaker 1: The other question they.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Said was, well, it's impossible for you to deport all
- 0:25Speaker 2: legal immigrants. He says, my plan is to start with
- 0:29Speaker 2: the worst and we're going to go from there.
- 0:30Speaker 1: We'll have that for you.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Also, Daniel Penny was found innocent, thank goodness, by a
- 0:36Speaker 2: jury of his peers in New York City for being
- 0:37Speaker 2: a good samaritan. The question now is can he sue
- 0:40Speaker 2: New York for taking him to court for doing the
- 0:43Speaker 2: right thing? Was it an unjust prosecution of him. We'll
- 0:47Speaker 2: explain the legal aspect of that. And finally, the border wall,
- 0:52Speaker 2: many pieces of it that were taken down by the
- 0:54Speaker 2: Biden administration and others that were never put up. The
- 0:58Speaker 2: Biden administration now says we want to sell them for
- 1:00Speaker 2: five dollars apiece to stick it to the American voters.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Can we stop it? Well, we're to explain that for
- 1:07Speaker 2: you as well. It's the Weekend Review and it starts
- 1:09Speaker 2: right now. Let's talk about the border, and there was
- 1:13Speaker 2: certainly a pretty intense conversation about what Donald Trumps said
- 1:18Speaker 2: he wants to do. And I think the American people
- 1:21Speaker 2: actually know what his plan is. The media just doesn't
- 1:24Speaker 2: want to accept that he has a mandate to do it.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Here is part of that conversation.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Let's talk about mass deportation, one of your big agenda items.
- 1:33Speaker 3: You've talked about prioritizing people who have criminal histories, correct,
- 1:37Speaker 3: But is it your plan to deport everyone who is
- 1:40Speaker 3: here illegally over the next four years.
- 1:43Speaker 4: Well, I think you have to do it, and it's
- 1:45Speaker 4: a it's a very tough thing to do.
- 1:48Speaker 5: It's but you have to have.
- 1:51Speaker 4: You know, you have rules, regulations, law as they came
- 1:53Speaker 4: in illegally. You know, the people that have been treated
- 1:55Speaker 4: very unfairly are the people that have been online for
- 1:58Speaker 4: ten years to come into the country. And we're going
- 2:00Speaker 4: to make it very easy for people to come in
- 2:02Speaker 4: in terms off they have to pass the test, they
- 2:05Speaker 4: have to be able to tell you what the statue
- 2:06Speaker 4: of liberty is. They have to tell you a little
- 2:09Speaker 4: bit about our country. They have to love our country.
- 2:11Speaker 4: They can't come out of prisons. We don't want people
- 2:13Speaker 4: that are in for murder. So we had eleven thousand
- 2:16Speaker 4: and thirteen thousand, different estimates, thirteen thousand and ninety nine
- 2:21Speaker 4: murderers released into our country over the last three years.
- 2:25Speaker 4: They're walking down the streets, they're walking next to you
- 2:27Speaker 4: and your family, and they're very dangerous.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Thirteen thousand figure I think goes back about forty good.
- 2:33Speaker 5: No, it doesn't know it's within the three year period.
- 2:35Speaker 5: It's during the Biden term. Now, that was a fiction
- 2:37Speaker 5: that they put that out. This was done by the
- 2:39Speaker 5: Border Patrol.
- 2:41Speaker 4: It's thirteen thousand and ninety nine, and it's during the
- 2:43Speaker 4: Biden period of time. And these are murderers, many of
- 2:46Speaker 4: who murdered more than one person. You don't want those
- 2:49Speaker 4: people in this country.
- 2:51Speaker 3: But you're saying something, sir, that's significance. I just want
- 2:55Speaker 3: to make sure i'm clear, which is that you're saying, yes,
- 2:57Speaker 3: you're going to focus on the people with criminal histories,
- 3:00Speaker 3: but everyone who's here illegally has to go.
- 3:02Speaker 4: I'm saying, we have to get the criminals out of
- 3:05Speaker 4: our country. We have to get people that were taken
- 3:07Speaker 4: out of mental institutions and put them back into their
- 3:10Speaker 4: mental institution, no matter what country it is.
- 3:13Speaker 5: Do you know that Venezuela, their prisons.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Are at the lowest point in terms of emptiness that
- 3:20Speaker 4: they've ever been. They're taking their people out of those
- 3:23Speaker 4: prisons by the thousands, and they're drug and just to
- 3:26Speaker 4: get back because they know exactly what you're getting. At
- 3:29Speaker 4: number one, we're doing criminals, and we're going to do
- 3:31Speaker 4: them really rapidly. We're getting the worst gang probably with
- 3:36Speaker 4: MS thirteen and the Venezuelan gangs the worst in the world.
- 3:40Speaker 4: They're vicious, violent people, and you see what they've done
- 3:43Speaker 4: in Colorado and other places. They're taking over literally taking
- 3:46Speaker 4: over apartment complexes and doing it with impunity.
- 3:50Speaker 5: They don't care, they couldn't. They just aren't taking They're
- 3:52Speaker 5: in the real estate.
- 3:53Speaker 3: You know, the local police say that is not the
- 3:56Speaker 3: case in Colorado.
- 3:56Speaker 5: Oh, it's totally the case. I mean, you don't believe
- 3:59Speaker 5: the local I play it.
- 4:00Speaker 4: I used to play it at my rallies every single night. No,
- 4:03Speaker 4: it was breaking into doors, they're taking over the buildings.
- 4:07Speaker 4: And by the way, the police, the police are afraid
- 4:09Speaker 4: to do anything.
- 4:10Speaker 3: You raise the point that the logistics are complicated.
- 4:14Speaker 5: You say to yourself, what everything's going? Yeah, I mean you.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Need twenty four times more iced attention capacity just to
- 4:20Speaker 3: deport one million people per year, not to mention more agents,
- 4:23Speaker 3: more judges, more planes. Is it realistic to deport everyone
- 4:27Speaker 3: who's Jews?
- 4:28Speaker 5: First of all, they're costing us a fortune.
- 4:31Speaker 4: But we're starting with the criminals, and we got to
- 4:33Speaker 4: do it, and then we're starting with others, and we're
- 4:36Speaker 4: going to see how it goes.
- 4:37Speaker 5: The others.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Others are other people. Outside of criminals. We have convicted murders.
- 4:43Speaker 4: We don't mean people that are even on trial. We
- 4:45Speaker 4: have people that have murdered numerous people are on our
- 4:49Speaker 4: streets and in our farms, and we have to get
- 4:52Speaker 4: them out of our country.
- 4:54Speaker 2: You know, it's amazing to me, center is the fact
- 4:55Speaker 2: that Christian Walker there was just like, well, it's this
- 4:58Speaker 2: is impossible. You can't do this, So why even act
- 5:01Speaker 2: like you can deport around up a bunch of heinous criminals.
- 5:05Speaker 2: There's no way you can do this. So let's just
- 5:07Speaker 2: admit defeat and say we can't do it, and we
- 5:10Speaker 2: can't afford it. I mean, the Biden administration just sent
- 5:13Speaker 2: what another billion dollars and funding to Ukraine. Why don't
- 5:18Speaker 2: we spend some money here and actually get what we
- 5:20Speaker 2: need to get rid of these heinous criminals.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I think that's the point he's trying to make.
- 5:24Speaker 6: Well, and we're going to see that happen. We are
- 5:26Speaker 6: going to see on January twentieth, we're going to see
- 5:28Speaker 6: the new administration come in. We're going to see them
- 5:31Speaker 6: reverse catch and release immediately. We're going to see them
- 5:35Speaker 6: return to building the wall. We're going to see them
- 5:37Speaker 6: reinstate the Remain in Mexico agreement. What it is going
- 5:41Speaker 6: to mean is that on January twentieth, if you come
- 5:44Speaker 6: here illegally and you're apprehended, you will be deported, and
- 5:48Speaker 6: we will see the numbers plummets. They'll plummet immediately. The
- 5:51Speaker 6: first priority Trump is going to focus on as securing
- 5:54Speaker 6: the border itself, and very closely connected to that is
- 5:57Speaker 6: going after illegal immigrants, and in particular, he said repeatedly,
- 6:00Speaker 6: starting with the criminal aliens, starting with the convicted murderers,
- 6:05Speaker 6: the rapist, the child molesters, starting with the Venezuelan gangs,
- 6:08Speaker 6: starting with with with the most dangerous illegal immigrants. And
- 6:12Speaker 6: you know, Welker was saying, well, gosh, this is going
- 6:14Speaker 6: to be expensive. It's going to take a lot of resources.
- 6:16Speaker 6: I'm going to hold onto that clip that's going to
- 6:19Speaker 6: be valuable because you know what Congress is going to
- 6:21Speaker 6: We're going to take up and pass a reconciliation bill.
- 6:24Speaker 6: We're going to do it early in this next year
- 6:27Speaker 6: that is going to provide funding to enable us to
- 6:31Speaker 6: secure the border. We're going to get it done. And
- 6:32Speaker 6: I think Trump was very matter of fact laying out
- 6:35Speaker 6: this is a mandate from the American people. He intends
- 6:38Speaker 6: to do it, and I intend to work hand in
- 6:40Speaker 6: hand with him to make sure it gets done.
- 6:43Speaker 2: And finally, Senator Donald Trump went to France. It was
- 6:46Speaker 2: a very interesting trip. He was meeting with world leaders.
- 6:50Speaker 2: And one of the things that I thought was really
- 6:53Speaker 2: interesting about this trip was social media reacted to Trump's
- 6:57Speaker 2: just dominating force and the and the clear contrast between
- 7:02Speaker 2: how world leaders were interacting with him compared to Joe
- 7:06Speaker 2: Biden in this administration. There was an interesting handshake when
- 7:11Speaker 2: there was a meeting in France as well. I'm sure
- 7:14Speaker 2: you saw some of this on social media and on
- 7:16Speaker 2: the news. I want to get your reaction to even
- 7:19Speaker 2: Macrone and their handshake. It was like it was like
- 7:22Speaker 2: a fist, like hey, we're back, bros. Good to see you.
- 7:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:26Speaker 6: Look, I mean Donald Trump sha shakes hands like a man,
- 7:29Speaker 6: and when it came to Macrone, he shook hands in
- 7:34Speaker 6: a way that was a dominating way to shake hands.
- 7:37Speaker 6: Macrone was nervous, he was uneasy, He wasn't sure what
- 7:40Speaker 6: to do.
- 7:40Speaker 7: Now.
- 7:40Speaker 6: Macrone's own political situation in France is incredibly tenuous, and
- 7:45Speaker 6: listen the contrast, Macrone has been kissing up to Biden
- 7:49Speaker 6: like crazy. Biden when he interacts with Macrone and every
- 7:52Speaker 6: other world leader interacts from a position of weakness. None
- 7:55Speaker 6: of them are afraid of him, none of them, none
- 7:58Speaker 6: of them are worried about what he might do. You know,
- 8:00Speaker 6: you look at that at our southern border. I'm reminded
- 8:02Speaker 6: we did a podcast I don't know about a year
- 8:06Speaker 6: year and a half ago where we played Amlo then
- 8:08Speaker 6: the president of Mexico, uh, standing next to Joe Biden
- 8:12Speaker 6: and just crowing how he's the only president in our lifetimes,
- 8:16Speaker 6: who has not built even one meter of wall or
- 8:20Speaker 6: fence neon metro and and he's saying and Biden just
- 8:24Speaker 6: grinning like a goofy fool while Amlo is saying, well,
- 8:27Speaker 6: look this guy, we can just run all over. Well,
- 8:30Speaker 6: we have seen that that that Trump is not someone
- 8:34Speaker 6: that that foreign leaders are going to run all over.
- 8:36Speaker 6: And so so that is that that that is a
- 8:39Speaker 6: powerful demonstration of the simple fact that America is back.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 8:46Speaker 2: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 8:49Speaker 2: from earlier this week.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Now onto story number two.
- 8:54Speaker 2: This is one of those stories where I hope that
- 8:56Speaker 2: people will stand up and say this is a hero
- 9:00Speaker 2: and be proud to say he is a hero, because
- 9:03Speaker 2: that's exactly what he is. And we should celebrate heroes
- 9:07Speaker 2: and we should not have to worry that when men
- 9:09Speaker 2: need to stand up an act to protect and defend people,
- 9:13Speaker 2: that they're going to do it and not have to
- 9:15Speaker 2: worry about thinking twice because of what just happened to
- 9:17Speaker 2: this individual. It's also a really sad commentary about New
- 9:20Speaker 2: York and New York City and the activist prosecutors there
- 9:23Speaker 2: and Finally, I want to get your thought on that.
- 9:25Speaker 2: With the prosecutors that went after him, should there be
- 9:28Speaker 2: any scenario where he can, in essence, say hey, you
- 9:33Speaker 2: guys didn't treat me the right way.
- 9:35Speaker 6: Look. Look, I could easily see a lawsuit following from this.
- 9:39Speaker 6: I hope Alvin Bragg is thrown out of office. I
- 9:43Speaker 6: hope he is removed from office. The governor has the
- 9:46Speaker 6: authority to do that. Of course, the governor, Kathy Hockel
- 9:49Speaker 6: is a leftist herself, a cultural Marxist herself. She's someone who,
- 9:53Speaker 6: by the way, said, if you're a Republican, get the
- 9:55Speaker 6: hell out of my state. Moved to Florida, you don't
- 9:57Speaker 6: belong in New York. That is their idea. If you
- 10:00Speaker 6: are the enemy, they are opposed to you. I gotta say,
- 10:03Speaker 6: I want you to listen to Daniel Penny and him
- 10:05Speaker 6: talking about how he was trying to protect other people's lives.
- 10:10Speaker 6: He was acting as a good Samaritan, acting as a hero, intervening,
- 10:14Speaker 6: risking his own life. Look, encountering a mentally ill, potentially
- 10:19Speaker 6: violent person threatening violence is a dangerous thing to do.
- 10:23Speaker 6: Here's what Daniel Penny had to say.
- 10:25Speaker 8: The guilt I would have felt if someone did get hurt,
- 10:28Speaker 8: if he did do what he was threatening to do,
- 10:33Speaker 8: would never be able to live with myself.
- 10:36Speaker 5: And I'll take a.
- 10:37Speaker 8: Million court appearances and people calling me names and people
- 10:42Speaker 8: hating me just to keep one of those people from
- 10:45Speaker 8: getting hurt or killed.
- 10:47Speaker 6: Look that that is yes. Look and of course how
- 10:53Speaker 6: is the left reacting. I want you to listen to
- 10:55Speaker 6: MSNBC just just expressing misery that that that that Daniel
- 11:02Speaker 6: Penny was was acquitted. And and understand, by the way,
- 11:06Speaker 6: initially so there were two charges, uh that were brought.
- 11:10Speaker 9: Uh.
- 11:10Speaker 6: So Alvin Bragg brought two charges. One charge was for
- 11:15Speaker 6: manslaughter and the second charge was for uh criminally uh
- 11:20Speaker 6: criminally criminally negligent homicide. The jury deadlocked on on the
- 11:27Speaker 6: on the second degree manslaughter claim, which was the more
- 11:30Speaker 6: serious charge. So so that means they had a disagreement,
- 11:33Speaker 6: they could not come to agreement. And so what did
- 11:36Speaker 6: Alvin Bragg do. Well, Alvin Bragg moved to dismiss the
- 11:39Speaker 6: more serious charge and he was trying to get a
- 11:43Speaker 6: conviction on the less serious charge. And and I got
- 11:47Speaker 6: to say, to the jury's credit, they came back very
- 11:50Speaker 6: quickly with a not guilty, So the jury is determined
- 11:53Speaker 6: he is he is innocent. But listen to m S
- 11:55Speaker 6: NBC and and just how upset they are uh that
- 11:58Speaker 6: that this innocent man was found found not guilty.
- 12:01Speaker 10: Banking News here Daniel Penny found not guilty. But Lisa,
- 12:04Speaker 10: we also know that Jordan Neely's family had filed I
- 12:07Speaker 10: believe a civil suit in this case as well. Does
- 12:10Speaker 10: the verdict in this case impact.
- 12:12Speaker 11: That not necessarily? I mean, the law is rife with
- 12:16Speaker 11: examples of people who are quitted in criminal cases and
- 12:20Speaker 11: yet find justice with respect to civil accountability. I think
- 12:23Speaker 11: the best example of that is with respect to Fred
- 12:26Speaker 11: Goldman's family. Fred Goldman, I'm sorry, Ron Goldman being the
- 12:30Speaker 11: man who was murdered alongside Nicole Brown Simpson.
- 12:33Speaker 5: Even though O. J.
- 12:34Speaker 11: Simpson was never found criminally guilty for those two murders,
- 12:38Speaker 11: Fred Goldman, the father, along with his daughter, then sued O. J.
- 12:42Speaker 5: Simpson Civilly and.
- 12:44Speaker 11: One a fairly large verdict with respect to civil liability
- 12:48Speaker 11: for OJ Simpson. There are many other examples of similar
- 12:51Speaker 11: dysjuncture between what happens in a criminal court and what
- 12:54Speaker 11: happens when respect.
- 12:55Speaker 5: To a wrongful death action. For example, by a family.
- 12:58Speaker 1: It's sad center.
- 12:59Speaker 2: But there seems to be another trend, and that is,
- 13:01Speaker 2: if you are an innocent person and then you are
- 13:04Speaker 2: found innocent of a crime, if the media doesn't like you,
- 13:07Speaker 2: they're still gonna act like you're a threat to society.
- 13:10Speaker 6: Well you look at that's a reporter Lisa Rubin on
- 13:12Speaker 6: MSNBC who is calling for the mentally ill homeless man
- 13:19Speaker 6: who was high on drugs and threatening to murder people
- 13:22Speaker 6: on the train, calling for him to find justice against
- 13:27Speaker 6: the marine who intervened to protect people and keep people safe.
- 13:31Speaker 6: And she analogizes it to the OJ Simpson case, which
- 13:36Speaker 6: is utterly absurd because look, O J. Simpson was charged
- 13:41Speaker 6: with and the facts were pretty powerful, was guilty of murder. Now,
- 13:45Speaker 6: to be fair, OJ Simpson was not found guilty of murder,
- 13:48Speaker 6: but there was significant evidence that OJ was guilty. There
- 13:52Speaker 6: was significant enough evidence that he ended up being hit
- 13:56Speaker 6: with a large civil judgment. This this is not remotely
- 14:01Speaker 6: there's no argument, no rational, reasonable argument under the law
- 14:06Speaker 6: that Daniel Penny is guilty of murder. Self defense is
- 14:09Speaker 6: fully protected. And by the way, if perchance you don't
- 14:14Speaker 6: believe me, you should listen to my former criminal law professor,
- 14:18Speaker 6: Alan Dershowitz. Now, Alan Dershowitz is a liberal, He's been
- 14:22Speaker 6: a liberal his whole life. But he has the courage
- 14:27Speaker 6: to speak out and speak the truth. And listen to
- 14:30Speaker 6: what Alan Dershowitz said about this case and about the
- 14:35Speaker 6: absolutely corrupt prosecutor Alvin Bragg.
- 14:37Speaker 10: I'm going to start off with just the immediate reaction
- 14:39Speaker 10: to the not guilty verdict in the Daniel Penny case.
- 14:42Speaker 7: I have to admit I was a little surprised. Having
- 14:45Speaker 7: hung on the higher count, I was not expecting that
- 14:48Speaker 7: they would so quickly acquit on the lower account. It
- 14:51Speaker 7: probably shows that there were only one or two people
- 14:54Speaker 7: in the original high count that hung based on their
- 14:59Speaker 7: desire to see conviction. So I think it's a good thing.
- 15:03Speaker 5: Now.
- 15:03Speaker 7: I think the next step has to be the removal
- 15:05Speaker 7: of Alvin Bragg from the role of district Attorney. He
- 15:08Speaker 7: is a disgrace to the office. The two cases he
- 15:11Speaker 7: brought should never have been brought. The case against Donald Trump,
- 15:15Speaker 7: which was made up out of old cloth, which to
- 15:17Speaker 7: my mind involves unethical unprofessional conduct by Bragg, and also
- 15:22Speaker 7: this case, which should never have been brought either. He
- 15:25Speaker 7: brought it only because of the racial component to the
- 15:28Speaker 7: case and because of pressures from Black Lives Matter and
- 15:31Speaker 7: other groups on the outside, both white and black radicals
- 15:35Speaker 7: who wanted these cases to be brought, wanted this case
- 15:37Speaker 7: to be brought, and who are going to continue to
- 15:39Speaker 7: complain even though there are obviously black members of the
- 15:42Speaker 7: jury who voted to a quite as well.
- 15:45Speaker 12: Professor, what do you make of how quickly they came
- 15:48Speaker 12: back with this verdict and also to there's the civil
- 15:50Speaker 12: case that he's also facing too, Daniel Penny does that
- 15:55Speaker 12: given that he's not guilty on the criminal case, what
- 15:58Speaker 12: happens to the civil case as well?
- 16:00Speaker 7: It'll be thrown out. There's no case there civilly. The
- 16:04Speaker 7: only thing that will happen is that Penny will get
- 16:07Speaker 7: an enormous amount of discovery and we'll get much more
- 16:12Speaker 7: information that we don't now have about the alleged victim
- 16:16Speaker 7: in the case. So my prediction is it will be withdrawn.
- 16:20Speaker 7: I don't think they'll go any further. I don't think
- 16:22Speaker 7: they'll get any kind of a verdict.
- 16:24Speaker 5: Now.
- 16:25Speaker 7: You know, maybe the city will settle if they sue
- 16:29Speaker 7: the city as well. If I were, if I were
- 16:33Speaker 7: the lawyers for the alleged victim. I probably think.
- 16:38Speaker 9: I'd have a better shot at getting some money from
- 16:39Speaker 9: the city, which was sympathetic obviously to the victim, than
- 16:43Speaker 9: from a poor former marine who probably doesn't have a
- 16:48Speaker 9: lot of money.
- 16:49Speaker 7: So I don't think the simple case is going anywhere.
- 16:51Speaker 5: This is not O J.
- 16:52Speaker 7: Simpson, where the civil case won after the criminel case lost.
- 16:56Speaker 7: There was no case here to bring it all, either
- 16:58Speaker 7: civil or criminal.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Alan Dershowitz there seems to be optimistic, and I'm glad
- 17:04Speaker 2: he's saying, Hey, I don't think he's going to have
- 17:06Speaker 2: to deal with what, for example, O. J. Simpson had
- 17:08Speaker 2: to deal with. This is very different. I hope he's right.
- 17:12Speaker 6: Well, listen, Alan Dershowitz. He's a good friend. As I said,
- 17:15Speaker 6: he was my criminal law professor, and I actually took
- 17:18Speaker 6: another class from him in law school as well. He
- 17:20Speaker 6: was a fantastic professor. He's the best professor I had
- 17:22Speaker 6: in law school. And he's a brilliant lawyer. He's an
- 17:25Speaker 6: incredibly talented lawyer. And I remember my first year in
- 17:31Speaker 6: law school when dersh was stood up and he said listen.
- 17:35Speaker 6: He said, by any reasonable measure, I am in the
- 17:39Speaker 6: most liberal one percent of Americans across this country. And
- 17:43Speaker 6: he said at Harvard Law School, oddly enough, I'm considered
- 17:46Speaker 6: something of a conservative. This is not America. I don't
- 17:52Speaker 6: remember if he said this is not America, but this
- 17:54Speaker 6: is not a typical place. I mean, this was thirty
- 17:56Speaker 6: years ago, so I'm paraphrasing, but his point was so.
- 18:01Speaker 6: Dershowitz believes in free speech. That is no longer where
- 18:05Speaker 6: the left is. The left is eager to censor someone
- 18:07Speaker 6: who disagrees. Dershowitz does not celebrate the murder of those
- 18:12Speaker 6: he disagrees with. Dershwitz is not a cultural Marxist. He's
- 18:15Speaker 6: an old school liberal. He's a civil libertarian. He is
- 18:20Speaker 6: you know, has represented criminal defendants successfully. He's got a
- 18:23Speaker 6: lot of criminal defense off he believes in a vigorous
- 18:27Speaker 6: protection of constitutional rights for criminal defendants. And look, I
- 18:32Speaker 6: respect his courage. He's been demonized. He also supports Israel
- 18:36Speaker 6: and speaks out very powerfully and effective for Israel. He's
- 18:40Speaker 6: been demonized by the Left for doing so because they
- 18:42Speaker 6: brook no dissent. Anyone who dares oppose them is the enemy.
- 18:47Speaker 6: And so even though he's been one of the most
- 18:49Speaker 6: prominent liberals in the country for decades.
- 18:54Speaker 7: He is.
- 18:57Speaker 6: Rejected by today's left because he actually has the courage
- 19:03Speaker 6: to speak out against them. I hope he's right about
- 19:05Speaker 6: the civil case. In any sane and ordinary universe, that
- 19:09Speaker 6: would be true. I have to say I have a
- 19:11Speaker 6: little bit less confidence about a New York jury and
- 19:14Speaker 6: a New York judge. And maybe that's because we all
- 19:17Speaker 6: saw the the absolute kangaroo courts that that were convened
- 19:21Speaker 6: against Donald Trump, and and and having seen the civil
- 19:25Speaker 6: suits and and the the the the criminal case against
- 19:28Speaker 6: Donald Trump and the New York justice system. Uh, he
- 19:31Speaker 6: is right on what should happen. Look, I am very
- 19:35Speaker 6: grateful that that that Daniel Penny was acquitted, But it
- 19:39Speaker 6: says something about how little confidence I have about the
- 19:42Speaker 6: justice system in New York that I was not sure
- 19:45Speaker 6: this was happened would happen. I I thought there was
- 19:47Speaker 6: a chance, Uh, they they would come back and and
- 19:51Speaker 6: follow through on what Alvin Bragg wanted them to do,
- 19:54Speaker 6: which is punish him because he was deemed the bad guy.
- 19:58Speaker 6: And and and thankfully the the justice system worked in
- 20:02Speaker 6: this case. And you want to ask yourself, have you
- 20:05Speaker 6: seen even a single Democrat celebrate the Daniel Penny verdict.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a great question.
- 20:13Speaker 6: And if not, why not?
- 20:16Speaker 2: As before, If you want to hear the rest of
- 20:18Speaker 2: this conversation on this topic, you can go back and
- 20:21Speaker 2: down the podcast from earlier this week to hear the
- 20:24Speaker 2: entire thing. I want to get back to the big story,
- 20:28Speaker 2: number three of the week.
- 20:28Speaker 1: You may have missed. All right, so let's go to
- 20:32Speaker 1: the border.
- 20:32Speaker 2: And this might be one of the biggest just asinine
- 20:36Speaker 2: middle fingers from this administration. I don't know how you
- 20:39Speaker 2: want to categorize this one, but when I saw this report,
- 20:42Speaker 2: it actually made me angry. And that is that the
- 20:45Speaker 2: Biden administration is saying, Hey, we don't respect the voters.
- 20:49Speaker 2: We do not respect that the American people decided we
- 20:52Speaker 2: want security at our southern border. And what are they
- 20:56Speaker 2: doing to stick it to you. They're saying, all right,
- 20:58Speaker 2: watch this, We're going to sell pieces of the border
- 21:01Speaker 2: wall that have not been erected yet, just to say
- 21:04Speaker 2: screw you to the American people.
- 21:07Speaker 6: I wish what you were saying was hyperbole. I wish
- 21:09Speaker 6: it was an exaggeration, but it's not. The Daily Wire
- 21:12Speaker 6: broke this story, and it's an exclusive story that is
- 21:15Speaker 6: just it's stunning, it's infuriating. Here's the headline, exclusive, Biden
- 21:20Speaker 6: races to sell off border wall parts before Trump takes office.
- 21:25Speaker 6: The goal is to move all of it off the
- 21:28Speaker 6: border before Christmas. An Arizona Border Patrol agent tells the
- 21:32Speaker 6: Daily Wire. Let me read from this story. The Biden
- 21:34Speaker 6: administration is using its final weeks to haul a massive
- 21:37Speaker 6: amount of border wall materials away from the southern border
- 21:41Speaker 6: to be sold off in a government auction, on apparent
- 21:44Speaker 6: effort to hinder President elect Trump's efforts to secure the border.
- 21:48Speaker 6: The Daily Wire has learned. Videos obtained exclusively by The
- 21:52Speaker 6: Daily Wire from a US Customs and Border Patrol agent
- 21:55Speaker 6: show unused sections of the wall being hauled away on
- 21:59Speaker 6: the back of flatbed trucks from a section of the
- 22:02Speaker 6: border just south of Tucson, a hotspot for illegal crossings
- 22:06Speaker 6: during the Biden administration. The agent estimates that up to
- 22:10Speaker 6: a half mile per day of unused border wall is
- 22:15Speaker 6: being moved. This is not a small amount, this is
- 22:17Speaker 6: a massive amount. Continuing the quote quote, they are taking
- 22:21Speaker 6: it from three stations, Nogallis, Tucson, and three points. The
- 22:25Speaker 6: Border Patrol agent, who was granted anonymities speak freely told
- 22:28Speaker 6: the Daily Wire the goal is to move it all
- 22:31Speaker 6: off the border before Christmas. And here's something. If that
- 22:35Speaker 6: doesn't make you furious, listen, listen to this. The auction
- 22:42Speaker 6: website shows that sales occurred as recently as December fourth
- 22:47Speaker 6: for precisely the types of materials being pulled off the border.
- 22:52Speaker 6: Gov Planet has online auction set for December eleventh and
- 22:56Speaker 6: December eighteenth for more border wall material, which is listed
- 22:59Speaker 6: on the company's website as quote thirty two point nine
- 23:03Speaker 6: to one feet by seven point nine to one feet
- 23:06Speaker 6: steel ballered wall sections with grout. The bidding for each
- 23:12Speaker 6: section of wall panels is set to begin at five
- 23:17Speaker 6: dollars according to the website, and this article has multiple
- 23:23Speaker 6: screenshots showing these being sold for five bucks apiece. I
- 23:28Speaker 6: got to say, we talked in the first segment about
- 23:33Speaker 6: the arrogance and unaccountability of the Biden Justice Department, of
- 23:37Speaker 6: the Biden FBI. This is, at the end of the day,
- 23:39Speaker 6: that identical arrogance, and it's an arrogance of Joe Biden,
- 23:43Speaker 6: of Kamala Harris, of Aallejandro Majorcis of Merrick Garland, and
- 23:47Speaker 6: let's be clear of Chuck Schumer and the Senate Democrats
- 23:50Speaker 6: and Congressional Democrats. Every person in America knows that the
- 23:54Speaker 6: voters of America voted to secure the border. They want
- 23:57Speaker 6: that to happen. And you know what the Democrats are
- 24:00Speaker 6: saying on the way out, screw you. We don't care,
- 24:03Speaker 6: we don't care about the voters. And what we're gonna do.
- 24:06Speaker 6: If Trump's going to build the border wall, We're going
- 24:08Speaker 6: to make it that much more expensive because we are
- 24:11Speaker 6: so bitterly ideological that we will openly defy the will
- 24:17Speaker 6: of the voters.
- 24:18Speaker 1: And let's just be honest about the logic.
- 24:21Speaker 2: If you're just talking about that, the logical math that
- 24:26Speaker 2: you do here, there's no doubt that the Biden administration
- 24:30Speaker 2: knows that this wall will be used. And if they
- 24:32Speaker 2: do sell it all off before Christmas at five dollars
- 24:35Speaker 2: a panel, that this is going to have to be
- 24:38Speaker 2: repurchased at a much higher price because they just sold
- 24:42Speaker 2: what we had purchased before that has not been used,
- 24:45Speaker 2: and it will be used and it will be done.
- 24:47Speaker 2: So this is just trying to make the American taxpayer
- 24:53Speaker 2: suffer a little bit and to say we can't stand
- 24:56Speaker 2: you and what you guys just voted for. This is
- 24:59Speaker 2: a retribution for you voting them out of office and
- 25:03Speaker 2: their way of sticking it to the American voter and taxpayer.
- 25:07Speaker 6: Well that's right now. I will say there's an aspect
- 25:09Speaker 6: of this story that broke tonight. You and I are
- 25:11Speaker 6: recording this very late at night. It's twelve fifty seven
- 25:15Speaker 6: in the morning, Thursday night, and just this evening, the
- 25:19Speaker 6: Lieutenant Governor of Texas, Dan Patrick, a good friend of mine,
- 25:23Speaker 6: went on Laura Ingram's show, and he said the state
- 25:26Speaker 6: of Texas is preparing to buy up the border wall
- 25:30Speaker 6: segments from the Biden administration that they're selling for five
- 25:32Speaker 6: bucks apiece and then donate them back to the Trump administration.
- 25:37Speaker 6: And Dan Patrick says he has up to a billion
- 25:39Speaker 6: dollars of state funds to work with. I want you
- 25:42Speaker 6: to listen to Dan Patrick this evening on Laura Ingram
- 25:45Speaker 6: laying this out.
- 25:47Speaker 13: We mean business in Texas, and Tom Holmans means business
- 25:51Speaker 13: and President Trump means business. And I don't know if
- 25:53Speaker 13: you heard the latest today, Laura, but Joe Biden is
- 25:56Speaker 13: now hauling off the border wall that's been lying down
- 25:59Speaker 13: for years. And he walked wants to auction it off,
- 26:02Speaker 13: starting at five dollars apiece.
- 26:04Speaker 5: Message your White House right now.
- 26:06Speaker 13: I will bid on all of that wall, and we
- 26:09Speaker 13: will buy it in Texas and we will give it
- 26:11Speaker 13: to Donald Trump. So I'm going to find out first
- 26:14Speaker 13: thing in the morning.
- 26:15Speaker 5: Where are we going to take the bid.
- 26:17Speaker 13: I've got a billion dollars in my pocket to do it.
- 26:19Speaker 13: I write the budget with Senator Joan Hoffman.
- 26:22Speaker 5: We have the money.
- 26:23Speaker 13: We're going to have about six billion in our budget
- 26:25Speaker 13: for border.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Shippery to buy the costs.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Don't drive up the costs and tell me five bucks
- 26:30Speaker 3: of five bucks, I notice to the wall, and then.
- 26:33Speaker 5: I will go in and buy it all.
- 26:35Speaker 1: I'm not going to tell you what.
- 26:37Speaker 5: What does this tell you about the Biden people? There
- 26:39Speaker 5: is there? Know, they're essentially green lights. There's more people
- 26:42Speaker 5: coming in.
- 26:43Speaker 13: Yeah, they're despicable what they're doing to the American people,
- 26:46Speaker 13: and the American people obviously aren't tolerated. That's why they
- 26:49Speaker 13: were thrown out. But the idea, we've been trying to
- 26:52Speaker 13: buy this wall.
- 26:53Speaker 5: For them from them for four years and they wouldn't
- 26:56Speaker 5: sell it to us.
- 26:56Speaker 13: And you know what, I'm going to check in with
- 26:58Speaker 13: our Department of Public Safety. Maybe we need to start
- 27:00Speaker 13: pulling over these trucks to be sure they don't have
- 27:02Speaker 13: too much weight on those trucks. Maybe these trucks need
- 27:04Speaker 13: to be slowed down. We need to do everything we
- 27:07Speaker 13: can in Texas to stop them. The taxpayers paid for this,
- 27:11Speaker 13: and they want to stop President Trump in thirty eight
- 27:15Speaker 13: or thirty nine days from rebuilding the wall. I want
- 27:18Speaker 13: to this is the legacy of Joe Biden. He lets
- 27:21Speaker 13: off his son, He's letting off all these criminals. He's
- 27:24Speaker 13: doing everything he can with these blue state governors and
- 27:27Speaker 13: mayors to destroy this country. They are traders to this country,
- 27:31Speaker 13: leaving terrorists, leaving murders, leaving rapist in this country. And
- 27:35Speaker 13: now he wants to sabotage this president before he takes off.
- 27:39Speaker 13: It is disgraceful and discussing he will go down as
- 27:42Speaker 13: the worst, most despicable president in the history of this
- 27:45Speaker 13: country because no one has done more to damage this
- 27:48Speaker 13: country and hurt American citizens.
- 27:50Speaker 5: I would agree with you on that.
- 27:52Speaker 2: I think the point he's making here is absolutely right.
- 27:54Speaker 2: But we're even if it's five dollars, you're double paying
- 27:57Speaker 2: for something that we've already paid for and it's just
- 28:00Speaker 2: solely out of spite.
- 28:01Speaker 6: Well, and let me say number one, thank god for Texas.
- 28:06Speaker 6: Thank god for Texas stepping up under that leading Dan.
- 28:10Speaker 6: I'm glad you're doing that. But I've got to say also, listen,
- 28:14Speaker 6: I'm gonna call on the incoming administration to investigate whoever
- 28:21Speaker 6: made the decision to do this. And let me be clear.
- 28:25Speaker 6: Let's say you're a government official, ben and you're pissed
- 28:29Speaker 6: off at the people who are coming in after you.
- 28:32Speaker 6: They're mad at You're mad at the voters because they
- 28:33Speaker 6: elected someone different. And let's say, for example, that you're
- 28:38Speaker 6: running you're running a police department. Your dad's a cop.
- 28:41Speaker 6: You're running a police department, and you've got a bunch
- 28:44Speaker 6: of police cars that let's say we're forty grand apiece,
- 28:48Speaker 6: and you're mad because there's a new sheriff that's been elected,
- 28:51Speaker 6: and so you decide to take the forty thousand dollars
- 28:53Speaker 6: police cars. Let's say you got ten of them, and
- 28:56Speaker 6: you go out and say, I'm going to auction the
- 28:57Speaker 6: forty thousand dollars police cars off for five apiece because
- 29:02Speaker 6: you want your successor not to have any police cars.
- 29:05Speaker 6: And so you sell forty thousand dollars police cars for
- 29:07Speaker 6: five bucks apiece. I'm going to tell you right now
- 29:10Speaker 6: that is theft from the taxpayers. The idea. I guarantee
- 29:14Speaker 6: you those segments of the wall. They don't cost five dollars,
- 29:17Speaker 6: they don't cost fifty dollars, they don't cost five hundred dollars,
- 29:19Speaker 6: they don't cost five thousand dollars. And I got to
- 29:23Speaker 6: say it is grotesque, and I am calling right now
- 29:29Speaker 6: for the incoming administration to investigate every person that made
- 29:33Speaker 6: the decision to steal from the American taxpayers because they
- 29:38Speaker 6: are such bitter partisans that they want to deprive the
- 29:43Speaker 6: federal government of assets that the taxpayers paid for. You
- 29:47Speaker 6: don't have the right to do that. It doesn't matter.
- 29:49Speaker 6: Nobody has the right to steal from the federal government.
- 29:52Speaker 6: If you're selling segments of this wall for five bucks apiece,
- 29:56Speaker 6: that in my view, is absolute theft.
- 29:59Speaker 2: As always, thank you for listening to Verdict with Sentner,
