Hope is often deferred. Today we see hope not only as deferred, but often as vanishing. We had hope in a career, or in a marriage, or in a friendship, or in some dream that we had dreamt for years. We had hope that certain promises would make the world better, or change the course of a life, a family, a community, or a nation. We had hope that tomorrow would be better and that yesterday would be forgotten.
