- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome in his verdict with Ted Cruz the Weekend Review,
- 0:02Speaker 1: Ben Ferguson with you, and here are the big stories
- 0:04Speaker 1: that you may have missed that we talked about this week.
- 0:07Speaker 1: First up, Senator Cruz lays out why the Save America
- 0:11Speaker 1: Act is vital to our nation's voting integrity. Also a
- 0:16Speaker 1: showdown in Texas. So who is James tell Rico? We
- 0:19Speaker 1: explain it. And finally, the liberal icon and hero of
- 0:23Speaker 1: the left, Caesar Chavez. Well, now the New York Times
- 0:27Speaker 1: is saying he's a child rapist. It's the Weekend Review
- 0:30Speaker 1: and it starts right now. So Senator, let's talk about
- 0:34Speaker 1: just first the lay of the land and how we
- 0:37Speaker 1: got to where we are day and the vote. There's
- 0:39Speaker 1: a lot of people wondering what the vote was to
- 0:41Speaker 1: move this forward, So now there's debate, and so tell
- 0:44Speaker 1: us who didn't vote for this on the Republican side.
- 0:47Speaker 1: It was a very tight vote, and also explain what's
- 0:50Speaker 1: going to happen over the rest of this week.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Well, the vote on the Senate floor to take up
- 0:55Speaker 2: the Save America Act was fifty one to forty seven,
- 0:58Speaker 2: so fifty one Republicans voter to take it up. The
- 1:01Speaker 2: only no vote was Lisa Murkowski out of Alaska. And
- 1:05Speaker 2: then Tom Tillis from North Carolina, who is retiring, did
- 1:08Speaker 2: not vote, so he was not a no vote, but
- 1:10Speaker 2: he didn't vote. Other than that, every Republican voter to
- 1:13Speaker 2: take it up. And we're now in the midst of
- 1:15Speaker 2: the battle. Now we can anticipate the Democrats are a
- 1:19Speaker 2: hard no. And so we're taking the case to the
- 1:21Speaker 2: American people and trying to build support for it. And
- 1:24Speaker 2: so I went to the Senate Florida lay out the
- 1:26Speaker 2: case for why the Save of America Act is so
- 1:29Speaker 2: critical and why the opposition for the Democrats is so ridiculous.
- 1:34Speaker 2: And so here's what I had to say on the
- 1:36Speaker 2: floor of the Senate this week.
- 1:39Speaker 3: As president.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Later this year, American citizens across the country will exercise
- 1:45Speaker 2: one of their most valuable and sacred.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Rights, the right to vote.
- 1:50Speaker 2: A right that has been hard earned and fought for
- 1:53Speaker 2: from the founding generation of our republic to today. And
- 1:59Speaker 2: how is the right to self government, the right to
- 2:01Speaker 2: vote secured? It was secured by American colonists who rejected
- 2:08Speaker 2: the royal edict and hurdled Tea into Boston Harbor, declaring
- 2:13Speaker 2: no taxation without representation.
- 2:17Speaker 3: It was secured by.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Ordinary men who seized their muskets and fired the shot
- 2:22Speaker 2: heard round the world at Lexington and Concord. It was
- 2:27Speaker 2: secured by Continental troops who marched to the fields of
- 2:33Speaker 2: Saratoga and the coastline of Yorktown, repeating those immortal words
- 2:39Speaker 2: of Patrick Henry, give me liberty or give me death.
- 2:45Speaker 2: For nearly two hundred and fifty years, Americans have cast
- 2:48Speaker 2: their votes for leaders at every level, from local officials
- 2:53Speaker 2: to state representatives to the President of the United States.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Every member of this body is here today because we
- 3:01Speaker 2: were elected fairly and honestly and given a mandate by
- 3:05Speaker 2: our constituents to serve them here in Washington and to
- 3:09Speaker 2: protect the liberties and freedoms our founders fought to preserve.
- 3:15Speaker 2: The power of the ballot box determines the course of
- 3:19Speaker 2: our nation, the history we are writing, and the freedoms
- 3:23Speaker 2: that we continue to defend. And while no single ballot
- 3:26Speaker 2: in isolation may seem decisive, together the votes of the
- 3:31Speaker 2: American people shape the course of our nation and the
- 3:35Speaker 2: course of history. But it is worth remembering that our
- 3:39Speaker 2: voting system did not begin as it exists today. When
- 3:44Speaker 2: this nation was founded, the right to vote was limited,
- 3:48Speaker 2: and over time, through debate, sacrifice, a bloody civil war,
- 3:53Speaker 2: and constitutional amendment, the right to vote was quite properly expanded.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Thefteenth Amendment prohibited denying the vote based on race, the
- 4:04Speaker 2: nineteenth Amendment guaranteed women the right to vote, and the
- 4:09Speaker 2: twenty sixth Amendment lowered the voting age to eighteen. At
- 4:14Speaker 2: every stage of our constitutional amendment process, the goal was
- 4:18Speaker 2: the same, to ensure that the right to vote belonged
- 4:23Speaker 2: to American citizens and that it was exercised with integrity.
- 4:29Speaker 2: And while our system has evolved, one principle has remained constant.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Elections reflect the will of the American people for a
- 4:39Speaker 2: right so sacred, for a privilege so hard fought.
- 4:45Speaker 3: It is shocking, it is tragic.
- 4:49Speaker 2: How neglected and vulnerable the protection of our elections has become.
- 4:55Speaker 2: That is why I'm here today on this very floor,
- 4:58Speaker 2: urging the members of this body to pass the Save
- 5:03Speaker 2: America Act. It says that when you register to vote
- 5:08Speaker 2: in a federal election, you must provide proof that you
- 5:12Speaker 2: are a citizen of the United States, and you must provide.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Photo ID to vote. In simple terms, that's it.
- 5:23Speaker 2: This is not some radical, politicized or weaponized piece of
- 5:27Speaker 2: legislation design to restrict Americans from voting. It is a
- 5:33Speaker 2: common sense measure that protects the integrity of our elections
- 5:38Speaker 2: by ensuring that American citizens, and only American citizens, are
- 5:44Speaker 2: voting in them. Legitimacy in a democracy rests on two pillars. First,
- 5:51Speaker 2: the mechanical integrity of the system to produce a valid result,
- 5:55Speaker 2: and second, the public's confidence in that system. The one fails,
- 6:01Speaker 2: the system falters. If both fail, the system collapses. A
- 6:08Speaker 2: system that cannot be trusted is a system that cannot govern.
- 6:13Speaker 2: If you look around the world, between two thirds and
- 6:17Speaker 2: three quarters of countries require some form of identification to vote.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Why because it safeguards the integrity of their elections and
- 6:26Speaker 2: reinforces public trusts in their system.
- 6:31Speaker 3: So it begs the question.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Why hasn't the United States fully embraced this standard. Well,
- 6:41Speaker 2: for the last several months, we have heard claim after
- 6:45Speaker 2: claim about how this legislation would somehow inhibit people from voting,
- 6:49Speaker 2: that requiring identification is discriminatory, that the American people do
- 6:53Speaker 2: not support voter idem aster.
- 6:55Speaker 3: President.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Our Democrat colleagues are fond of bellowing into the TV
- 7:00Speaker 2: cameras that photo ID to vote is Jim Crow, they
- 7:08Speaker 2: tell us with mock earnestness. Now I will admit our
- 7:14Speaker 2: Democrat colleagues should be experts in Jim Crow, because it
- 7:19Speaker 2: was Democrat politicians who passed the Jim Crow laws. It
- 7:24Speaker 2: was Democrat politicians who founded the ku Klux Klan. It
- 7:28Speaker 2: was Democrat politicians for decade after decade who enforced discrimination,
- 7:35Speaker 2: separate but equal poll taxes, and a host of other
- 7:41Speaker 2: laws designed to prevent African Americans from voting. But do
- 7:47Speaker 2: you know who has rejected their disingenuous claim that photo
- 7:50Speaker 2: ID to vote is Jim Crow. The Supreme Court of
- 7:55Speaker 2: the United States. Supreme Court of the United States, the
- 7:58Speaker 2: state of Indiana pasted photo ID law requiring that you
- 8:04Speaker 2: show a photo ID to vote. A group of left
- 8:06Speaker 2: wing plaintiffs filed litigation challenging that the case went all
- 8:12Speaker 2: the way to the United States Supreme Court. At the time,
- 8:14Speaker 2: I was the Solicitor General of the State of Texas.
- 8:16Speaker 2: I led a coalition of states before the Supreme Court
- 8:19Speaker 2: defending photo ID to vote, and the left wing plaintiffs
- 8:24Speaker 2: made the same argument that our Democrat colleagues make today,
- 8:28Speaker 2: that requiring photo ID to vote would somehow disenfranchise minorities.
- 8:32Speaker 2: The Supreme Court, by a vote of six to three,
- 8:37Speaker 2: rejected their argument.
- 8:40Speaker 3: The author of.
- 8:40Speaker 2: The majority opinion was John Paul Stevens. John Paul Stevens
- 8:43Speaker 2: was one of the great liberals on the court. He
- 8:46Speaker 2: was not a conservative, he was not on the right wing.
- 8:48Speaker 2: He was the leading liberal for years on the U. S.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Supreme Court.
- 8:53Speaker 3: He rejected that.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Claim, and he pointed out that when someone votes illegally
- 9:00Speaker 2: stealing the votes of legal voters, they are stealing the
- 9:05Speaker 2: votes of American citizens.
- 9:07Speaker 3: The Supreme Court.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Explained that when photo ID laws have been implemented, minority
- 9:12Speaker 2: participation in the election goes up, not down. And the
- 9:18Speaker 2: Supreme Court explained that requiring photo ID enhances the integrity
- 9:22Speaker 2: of an election and the integrity of democracy. Now, our
- 9:26Speaker 2: Democrat colleagues don't want to acknowledge any.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Of those facts.
- 9:30Speaker 2: And I guess it's understandable because the American people have
- 9:34Speaker 2: heard their specious arguments and they have rejected them. As
- 9:40Speaker 2: to President, eighty one percent of Americans support requiring photo
- 9:45Speaker 2: ID to vote. But my Democrat colleagues might say, what
- 9:50Speaker 2: about African Americans? Well, about three quarters of African Americans
- 9:54Speaker 2: in the United States require support requiring photo ID to vote.
- 9:58Speaker 3: How about Hispanics?
- 10:00Speaker 2: More than eighty percent of Hispanics in America support requiring
- 10:03Speaker 2: photo ID to vote.
- 10:05Speaker 3: How about Democrats? Here's an astonished statistic.
- 10:10Speaker 2: If you get out of elected office, if you ask
- 10:13Speaker 2: a Democrat on the street, seventy percent of Democrats in
- 10:16Speaker 2: America support requiring photo ID to vote. The one group
- 10:21Speaker 2: that doesn't are elected Democrats in the United States Senate,
- 10:26Speaker 2: in the United States House. And by the way, the
- 10:33Speaker 2: premise of their argument that minorities, if you require photo
- 10:36Speaker 2: ID to vote, are not going to be able to vote,
- 10:38Speaker 2: is frankly insulting. Mister President, I'm proud to be in
- 10:43Speaker 2: Hispanic American. I've been in Hispanic all my life. You
- 10:45Speaker 2: know what I've got in my wallet? I have a
- 10:49Speaker 2: driver's license. I look at my colleagues across the way,
- 10:53Speaker 2: I feel confident they have drivers' licenses in their wallets
- 10:56Speaker 2: as Wells are not morons. African Americans are not morons.
- 11:05Speaker 2: And when you claim minorities can't figure out how to
- 11:07Speaker 2: get a driver's license, well, gosh, what do you need
- 11:11Speaker 2: a photo ID to vote to do?
- 11:14Speaker 3: Right now in America.
- 11:16Speaker 2: You need a photo ID to purchase alcohol or to
- 11:20Speaker 2: purchase tobacco. You need a photo ID to gamble or
- 11:24Speaker 2: purchase lottery tickets. You need a photo ID to go
- 11:27Speaker 2: into a bar. You need a photo ID to get
- 11:30Speaker 2: on a plane. You need a photo ID to rent
- 11:33Speaker 2: a car. You need a photo ID just to drive
- 11:36Speaker 2: a car, not even to rent a car, drive a car.
- 11:40Speaker 2: You need a photo ID to apply for government benefits.
- 11:44Speaker 2: You need a photo ID to enroll in college. You
- 11:47Speaker 2: need a photo ID to open a bank account. You
- 11:51Speaker 2: need a photo ID to check into a hotel. And
- 11:55Speaker 2: I gotta admit this is my personal favorite. You need
- 11:59Speaker 2: a photo ID, actually two photo id's to shovel snow
- 12:04Speaker 2: in New York City. These are routine, every day activities.
- 12:10Speaker 2: The gallery is full. I feel confident everyone in the
- 12:12Speaker 2: gallery who is not a child has a driver's license.
- 12:17Speaker 2: And by the way, you wouldn't be admitted to the
- 12:19Speaker 2: gallery if you didn't. And I feel confident every member
- 12:24Speaker 2: of this chamber has done just about anything I listed, well,
- 12:28Speaker 2: except shoveling snow. I'm not convinced many of my colleagues
- 12:31Speaker 2: of Snubble show ah they do shovel other things. The
- 12:37Speaker 2: question is not whether Americans are bright enough to obtain
- 12:42Speaker 2: photo ID.
- 12:44Speaker 3: We know they can't and we know they do.
- 12:47Speaker 2: The real question is why would we not require the
- 12:51Speaker 2: same level of verification for something is consequential and.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Vital is voting.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Are our Democrat colleagues saying voting doesn't matter or is
- 13:05Speaker 2: it something else? Voting is not just another everyday activity.
- 13:09Speaker 2: It rolls around every year a few years, and it
- 13:13Speaker 2: is the vehicle that protects the principles of our republic
- 13:16Speaker 2: and safeguarding what matters. This legislation is necessary because they're
- 13:22Speaker 2: individuals and systems that can undermine confidence in our elections
- 13:26Speaker 2: if proper safeguards are not in place. And one of
- 13:30Speaker 2: the most apparent ways that we've seen is through the
- 13:34Speaker 2: masses of illegal immigrants that our Democrat colleagues let in.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Through open borders. Over four years.
- 13:40Speaker 2: During the Biden administration, more than twelve million illegal immigrants
- 13:44Speaker 2: flooded into this country, the vast majority through my home
- 13:48Speaker 2: state of Texas. Now, mister President, understand that was not
- 13:52Speaker 2: an accident, That was not something that Democrats could not stop.
- 13:57Speaker 2: That was their desired outcome.
- 14:00Speaker 3: How do we know that.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Because the instant President Trump was sworn into office for
- 14:07Speaker 2: his second term, illegal border crossings plummeted ninety nine percent overnight.
- 14:21Speaker 2: The Democrats said, no, Joe Biden can't secure the border.
- 14:25Speaker 3: He needs new legislation. We now know.
- 14:29Speaker 2: That was a lie. It was objectively false, and they
- 14:34Speaker 2: knew it was false. Well, if they could have secured
- 14:39Speaker 2: the border for four years and they chose not to,
- 14:42Speaker 2: they chose to let murderers into this country. They chose
- 14:45Speaker 2: to let rapists into this country. They chose to let
- 14:47Speaker 2: child molesters into this country. They chose to let gang
- 14:50Speaker 2: bangers into this country. They chose to let terrorists into
- 14:54Speaker 2: this country. We've had four radical Islamic terror attacks in
- 14:59Speaker 2: the l two weeks. Why, mister President, would the Democrats
- 15:07Speaker 2: choose to allow more than twelve million illegal aliens to
- 15:10Speaker 2: invade this country? And I'm going to suggest the obvious reason,
- 15:17Speaker 2: because the Democrats look at those illegal aliens and they
- 15:19Speaker 2: want them to cast vote for Democrats in federal elections.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Why are the Democrats lined up and say no, no, no,
- 15:28Speaker 2: under no circumstances should we test to see if you're
- 15:32Speaker 2: an American citizen? Under no circumstances should we require photo IDs.
- 15:39Speaker 2: You know, there was one activist a few years ago
- 15:41Speaker 2: who filmed himself going into a DC polling place. DC
- 15:46Speaker 2: polling place said sir, what's your name? And he said,
- 15:50Speaker 2: my name is Eric Holder. Now, this activist was not
- 15:54Speaker 2: the Attorney General of the United States at the time,
- 15:57Speaker 2: but yet DC handed him a ballot and said, mister Hoole,
- 16:01Speaker 2: please cast your vote.
- 16:05Speaker 3: The Democrats are lined up in this chamber.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Because they want our elections to be insecure.
- 16:15Speaker 3: They want voter fraud to be rampant and to be easy.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Ask yourself, do the American people have a difficult time
- 16:26Speaker 2: buying a beer? Do they have a difficult time getting
- 16:29Speaker 2: into an R rated movie? Do they have a difficult
- 16:31Speaker 2: time getting on airplane? Well? Yes, because the Democrats have
- 16:35Speaker 2: refuses to fund the TSA and so they're long lines
- 16:37Speaker 2: right now. But the lack of a photo ID is
- 16:41Speaker 2: not an impediment that stops people from flying. This debate
- 16:48Speaker 2: is about something very simple. Do our elections matter? Does
- 16:51Speaker 2: our democracy matter? And boy, mister President, I gotta say
- 16:55Speaker 2: that is a phrase the Democrats love.
- 16:59Speaker 3: They are defending democracy.
- 17:03Speaker 2: It's interesting their voice usually drops an octave when they
- 17:06Speaker 2: say that.
- 17:08Speaker 3: They clutch their pearls. And that's just the men.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Defending democracy, is what they say. Ask yourself, why are
- 17:22Speaker 2: they not concerned at all about twelve million illegals who
- 17:27Speaker 2: they let into this country voting illegally.
- 17:31Speaker 3: I'll submit.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Ockham's raisor provides. The simplest solution is usually the right one.
- 17:37Speaker 2: The simplest solution is very clear. The Democrats in this
- 17:40Speaker 2: body want illegals to vote for them. They want power
- 17:45Speaker 2: enough that they are more than happy to undermine democracy.
- 17:50Speaker 3: To try to seize power.
- 17:54Speaker 2: I get that from their personal self interest, but it
- 17:57Speaker 2: is not in the interest of the men and women
- 17:59Speaker 2: they represent. It is not one of the interest of
- 18:02Speaker 2: the people of America. This bill is rightly called the
- 18:06Speaker 2: Same America Act. And mister President, if we were voting
- 18:12Speaker 2: on the merits of what was good for America, what
- 18:15Speaker 2: was good for democracy, what was good for American citizens.
- 18:21Speaker 3: The vote would be a hundred to nothing.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Although I would note on the other side of this building,
- 18:26Speaker 2: at the State of the Union address that you were
- 18:27Speaker 2: at that I was at, we saw why our Democrat
- 18:32Speaker 2: colleagues are so adamantly opposed to this bill. President Trump
- 18:36Speaker 2: turned to the Democrats on the right side of the
- 18:40Speaker 2: floor of the House, and it gave him an opportunity
- 18:42Speaker 2: to demonstrate with absolute clarity.
- 18:45Speaker 3: He said, if you agree our first.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Priority should be to fight for American citizens and not
- 18:52Speaker 2: for illegal aliens, please stand, and every single Democrat in
- 19:01Speaker 2: Congress remain seated.
- 19:03Speaker 3: Not a one of them.
- 19:06Speaker 2: I would note, as we're on the floor today, of
- 19:08Speaker 2: the forty seven Democrats in this body, only one is
- 19:11Speaker 2: here on the floor, but a whole lot more we're
- 19:14Speaker 2: on the floor during the State of the Union. Every
- 19:16Speaker 2: one of them chose to remain seated because they could
- 19:19Speaker 2: not support the statement that we need to support American
- 19:22Speaker 2: citizens and not illegal aliens.
- 19:25Speaker 3: That's why they oppose the.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Save America Act, because they want to be handed power
- 19:31Speaker 2: over this country by the illegal aliens they led into
- 19:34Speaker 2: this country. That's why we need to save America, and
- 19:41Speaker 2: it's why I urge every member of this body to
- 19:43Speaker 2: pass the Save America Act.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 19:49Speaker 1: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 19:52Speaker 1: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two, So Center,
- 19:57Speaker 1: there is something very interesting that keeps brewing, and it's
- 20:00Speaker 1: theme in Texas that theme now is Democrats keep trying
- 20:05Speaker 1: to find radical liberals that they masquerade into some sort
- 20:09Speaker 1: of like moderate to then run for the Senate. But
- 20:12Speaker 1: if you just go back and look at their own words,
- 20:15Speaker 1: they're moonbats.
- 20:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Look, so the Democrats in Texas have nominated for the
- 20:21Speaker 2: US Senate this guy named James Tallerico, who was a
- 20:26Speaker 2: state representative. He'd only been in the legislature a couple
- 20:29Speaker 2: of years, he had not achieved much of anything. And
- 20:32Speaker 2: why did they pick some like some young state rep
- 20:35Speaker 2: to be their Senate nominee. Well, turned out the guy
- 20:38Speaker 2: went to seminary, and they're like, oh, look this is great. Now.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Look today's modern Democrat party. They hate people of faith
- 20:44Speaker 2: unless you happen to be an Islamist and you're trying
- 20:46Speaker 2: to kill people, they like them. But other than Islamists
- 20:49Speaker 2: that are trying to murder people, anyone of faith they
- 20:52Speaker 2: can't stand, and they especially can't stand Christians. But I
- 20:56Speaker 2: think the Democrats are frustrated that they keep losing in Texas,
- 20:59Speaker 2: they keep getting their buds kicked, and so they're like,
- 21:00Speaker 2: all right, we need to find someone that They're like, oh,
- 21:02Speaker 2: this guy went to seminary. He speaks, he speaks Christian.
- 21:07Speaker 2: This is their theory of the case, Like he can
- 21:09Speaker 2: talk to those strange people who believe in that Jesus guy.
- 21:12Speaker 2: That that that's how democrats strategist or our thinking. And
- 21:18Speaker 2: the only problem is like this guy is weird. And again,
- 21:24Speaker 2: don't take my word for it. I'm just going to
- 21:26Speaker 2: introduce you to James Tallerica. First of all, right, let's
- 21:29Speaker 2: listen to this preacher talk about God. What does he
- 21:32Speaker 2: have to say about God? Well, give a listen.
- 21:33Speaker 4: The first two lines of the Bible. The first two
- 21:38Speaker 4: lines in Genesis used two different Hebrew words to describe God.
- 21:45Speaker 4: One is the masculine Hebrew noun for divinity. The second
- 21:51Speaker 4: is the feminine Hebrew noun for spirit. God is both
- 21:57Speaker 4: masculine and feminine, and everything in between. God is non binary.
- 22:05Speaker 4: In Genesis one twenty six, God speaks of God's self
- 22:09Speaker 4: in the plural, saying, let us make human beings in
- 22:15Speaker 4: our image to be like us. That's the infinite multitude
- 22:21Speaker 4: of God, the masculine, the feminine, and everything in between.
- 22:28Speaker 4: Trans children are God's children made in God's own image.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Now, center, I've heard of stretches before using the Bible
- 22:39Speaker 1: but when you're like, let me just take you the
- 22:41Speaker 1: very beginning and here's how I'm going to morph that
- 22:43Speaker 1: into like this, Like that's a whole new level. And
- 22:46Speaker 1: even the room the people around him are kind of
- 22:48Speaker 1: like looking like is he really doing this? It's a
- 22:51Speaker 1: great video.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Look, God ain't nine non binary. And and yes God
- 22:55Speaker 2: is plural because you've got the trinity of God, the Father, God,
- 23:01Speaker 2: the Son, God, the Holy Spirit three in one. But
- 23:05Speaker 2: but but that does not mean that, you know, he says, well,
- 23:10Speaker 2: God created male, female and everything in between. No, No,
- 23:14Speaker 2: he created Adam, he created Eve, and he stopped. Yeah,
- 23:18Speaker 2: he didn't create a third creature that was neither male
- 23:21Speaker 2: nor female.
- 23:22Speaker 3: He he he created both.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Okay, so you might say, all right, that's that's fine,
- 23:28Speaker 2: But maybe that's just sort of a curious theological quirk.
- 23:33Speaker 2: What he had more to say about people who are
- 23:36Speaker 2: transgender and and it and it might kind of surprise you.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Listen.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Listen to what he had to say about about the
- 23:42Speaker 2: trans community.
- 23:43Speaker 4: Before we go further, I want to acknowledge that our
- 23:46Speaker 4: trans community needs abortion care. Two, Defending trans texts is
- 23:50Speaker 4: something we have to do every day now.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Now that one, if you're not watching this on YouTube.
- 23:55Speaker 1: I just want to set the stage center. There is
- 23:59Speaker 1: literally communion table behind him. Yeah, two candles that are lit.
- 24:04Speaker 1: And he's like, now, let me just tell you the
- 24:05Speaker 1: trans community they need abortion here too. Like I'm just curious,
- 24:08Speaker 1: like where in the scripture is that? Is that in there?
- 24:11Speaker 1: Like I'm waiting. You know this guy that went to ministry,
- 24:14Speaker 1: like like, I just want to know where he found that.
- 24:17Speaker 2: The guy says that in a church, and I guess
- 24:20Speaker 2: it's pretending to be a preacher, but you understand this
- 24:22Speaker 2: is his priority, abortions for people who are transgender.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Look like that.
- 24:27Speaker 2: I'm sorry, that is just out there and and this
- 24:31Speaker 2: is the pressing priority. But look, I got to admit
- 24:36Speaker 2: the reason he's saying all of this is that he's
- 24:40Speaker 2: got to apologize for his own overwhelming masculinity. And again,
- 24:47Speaker 2: don't take my word for it. Give a listen to
- 24:49Speaker 2: him explaining.
- 24:50Speaker 4: No need to sit and cry over you know, your
- 24:54Speaker 4: whiteness or your masculinity, right, use it, use it to
- 24:57Speaker 4: do something. Yeah, let's be productive.
- 25:00Speaker 1: I mean aiman pastor on that one, right, Like that
- 25:02Speaker 1: is just pre Sign me up. Where can I go
- 25:05Speaker 1: to get more of that?
- 25:07Speaker 3: Okay?
- 25:07Speaker 2: Look, I got to say, for those of y'all who
- 25:09Speaker 2: are not watching on YouTube, you really should watch on YouTube,
- 25:13Speaker 2: because no need to cry over your masculinity, said no
- 25:18Speaker 2: person who had even a shred of masculinity. This is
- 25:22Speaker 2: a guy who makes Pete bodhajeedge look manly.
- 25:26Speaker 3: You're not lying.
- 25:27Speaker 2: This is a guy if like a soy Latte could speak,
- 25:32Speaker 2: that would be Democrat James Tallerico.
- 25:34Speaker 1: That is my new official analogy that you've ever said
- 25:37Speaker 1: on this show. That is number one now.
- 25:40Speaker 2: And by the way, okay, so so he's not very masculine.
- 25:45Speaker 2: He's crying about his masculinity, what little little of it
- 25:48Speaker 2: he has. But at least he's an American, right, I
- 25:50Speaker 2: mean he's at least proud of America.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Well, not so much. Give a listen to what he
- 25:56Speaker 3: has to say about that.
- 25:58Speaker 4: I often think when reclaiming symbols, I think about the
- 26:00Speaker 4: American flag. I think the Confederate flag is a symbol
- 26:03Speaker 4: of treason and terrorism. But the American flag is such
- 26:06Speaker 4: a complicated symbol for most of us in many ways,
- 26:09Speaker 4: like Jesus, like the cross, it's been co opted.
- 26:12Speaker 3: And and.
- 26:14Speaker 4: And in some ways that's true. Meeting has been betrayed.
- 26:18Speaker 3: By the way.
- 26:18Speaker 1: I didn't know that we had co opted Jesus so
- 26:21Speaker 1: much like that's breaking news there, Senator.
- 26:24Speaker 2: So look, this is a supposed pastor who is embarrassed
- 26:28Speaker 2: about Jesus, embarrassed about the cross, and now embarrassed about
- 26:32Speaker 2: the American flag. But okay, look, look you said everything
- 26:35Speaker 2: else aside, it's Texas. At least he stands with barbecue, right.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Yes, that's true.
- 26:42Speaker 3: No, no, it's not. Give a listen to what he
- 26:44Speaker 3: has to say on meat.
- 26:46Speaker 4: We have, I think, heard more and more issues of
- 26:49Speaker 4: animal welfare. I think not just because it's the right
- 26:52Speaker 4: thing to do and the moral thing to do, but
- 26:54Speaker 4: also it's, as all of you know, necessary to fight
- 26:57Speaker 4: climate change. It is now existential that we try to
- 27:00Speaker 4: reduce our meat consumption and that we try to respect
- 27:04Speaker 4: animals in all aspects of society. And so I am
- 27:07Speaker 4: proud to say that our campaign has officially become a
- 27:11Speaker 4: non meat campaign. So we we are only buying vegan
- 27:18Speaker 4: products from from our local vegan businesses.
- 27:23Speaker 2: The guy hates barbecue. Perfect for Texas. They found their candidate.
- 27:29Speaker 2: The Democrats understand Texans as before. If you want to
- 27:33Speaker 2: hear the rest of this conversation on this topic. You
- 27:35Speaker 2: can go back and down the podcasts from earlier this
- 27:38Speaker 2: week to hear the entire thing. I want to get
- 27:41Speaker 2: back to the big story number three of the week
- 27:44Speaker 2: you may have missed. All Right, Finally, Senator, let's wrap
- 27:47Speaker 2: with a story that another hero of the left. Yeah,
- 27:52Speaker 2: looks like it was a crazy person that is now
- 27:54Speaker 2: going to go down history and disgrace. This time it's
- 27:58Speaker 2: a guy by the last name of Chavez. So this, this,
- 28:02Speaker 2: this is our hypocrisy, not just trifecta, but four of
- 28:05Speaker 2: a kind. So we started with Kathy Hocheld, the hypocritical
- 28:10Speaker 2: Democrat governor of New York. We then went to James Tallerico,
- 28:13Speaker 2: the very very strange Democrat nominee for the Senate. We
- 28:16Speaker 2: then went to Joe Kent, the previous Trump supporter who
- 28:20Speaker 2: has decided now that that that Trump is is under
- 28:23Speaker 2: an assassination threat from Israel. And finally Caesar Shaves who
- 28:27Speaker 2: is Caesar Shavz. He is a hero to the Democrats,
- 28:30Speaker 2: a hero to the left and icon uh. He was
- 28:33Speaker 2: a union organizer for the United farm Workers and he
- 28:36Speaker 2: is revered except for the fact that that famed right
- 28:41Speaker 2: wing publication, The New York Times just published an expose
- 28:46Speaker 2: that for years he was raping little girls, and and
- 28:50Speaker 2: they come with the receipts that that that he had
- 28:53Speaker 2: raped little girls year after year after year, and the
- 28:57Speaker 2: Left had covered it up. They'd covered it up because
- 28:59Speaker 2: they agreed with his politics. And I got to say
- 29:02Speaker 2: that there's a really good opinion piece that the Daily
- 29:04Speaker 2: Wire ran by a woman named Ariana Guaharda, who's a
- 29:09Speaker 2: Texan and a Latina. And here's what she wrote. I
- 29:13Speaker 2: want to read a good chunk of it because it
- 29:14Speaker 2: actually is a good insight. It's entitled the Left hid
- 29:18Speaker 2: Caesar Chavez is rapes and turned him into a saint.
- 29:23Speaker 2: She begins when I was in college, I passed the
- 29:26Speaker 2: Caesar Chavez statue every day on my walk to class
- 29:30Speaker 2: at the University of Texas. Now, Caesar Chavez is the
- 29:34Speaker 2: name of the road I take to work, and it's
- 29:36Speaker 2: a big road right in downtown Austin. For years, Chavez
- 29:41Speaker 2: was presented as the figurehead for Mexican Americans, a symbol
- 29:45Speaker 2: we were expected to revere, but he represented a collectivist
- 29:49Speaker 2: ideology that perpetuated ethnic tribalism. After the New York Times
- 29:55Speaker 2: broke the story of his sexual abuse of young girls.
- 29:58Speaker 2: This false idol is finally toppling. My only hope is
- 30:02Speaker 2: that he is not replaced by another. Chavez has long
- 30:06Speaker 2: been celebrated as a symbol of the Civil rights era
- 30:09Speaker 2: and as a champion of labor unions in America. He
- 30:12Speaker 2: co founded the United farm Workers' Union to fight for
- 30:15Speaker 2: better condition for migrant laborers, But in truth, he exploited
- 30:19Speaker 2: the very people he claimed to protect while tying Mexican
- 30:23Speaker 2: Americans to socialist ideology, which is of course what the
- 30:26Speaker 2: democrats want. He carefully crafted a public image as a
- 30:30Speaker 2: family man devoted to Catholic social teaching, but the reality
- 30:35Speaker 2: was much darker. Chava's philosophy echoes Marxist rhetoric about the
- 30:40Speaker 2: proletariat and the bourgeoisie. At a UfW convention in nineteen
- 30:46Speaker 2: eighty one, Chavez proclaimed, I would not take one cup
- 30:50Speaker 2: of coffee from a grower. Any means a farmer. There's
- 30:54Speaker 2: not a good one. I hate them. A few presents
- 30:57Speaker 2: a little talk than the new use. That's how capitalism works.
- 31:03Speaker 2: This is the hero of the left. It isn't just
- 31:07Speaker 2: his rhetoric that sounds alarm bells. Early in his career,
- 31:10Speaker 2: he worked with Saul Alynsky, the community organizer who defined
- 31:14Speaker 2: the modern leftist playbook in Rules for Radicals. Chavez and
- 31:19Speaker 2: the UfW later implemented Alinsky's tactics fostering confrontational, divisive organizing.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Then there is the recent revelation of his extensive sexual
- 31:30Speaker 2: abuse of minors. The behavior is not distinct from other
- 31:34Speaker 2: far left figures, such as Joseph Stalin to Mao to
- 31:38Speaker 2: Kim Jong Il. Communist and socialist leaders often share a
- 31:42Speaker 2: troubling connection to sexual predation. We should not be surprised
- 31:49Speaker 2: that evil ideology attracts evil people. By the way, that's
- 31:53Speaker 2: a sentence worth remembering. We should not be surprised that
- 31:58Speaker 2: evil ideologyogy attracts evil people. If the warning signs around
- 32:04Speaker 2: Chavez have existed for decades, why did he become the
- 32:08Speaker 2: face of an entire ethnicity in America? Partly because he
- 32:12Speaker 2: was effective at mobilizing Mexican Americans in California using a
- 32:16Speaker 2: rhetoric that created a lasting US versus them mentality, But
- 32:22Speaker 2: how did that ideology extend to Texas? Chavez never belong
- 32:27Speaker 2: to the Tehano heritage. The same way he does in
- 32:30Speaker 2: Chicano culture. The Chicano culture and movement are a direct
- 32:34Speaker 2: outgrowth of the California Hispanic labor movement in the sixties
- 32:38Speaker 2: and seventies. On the other hand, the Tehano culture traces
- 32:42Speaker 2: back to the Mexican settlers of Texas prior to Texas
- 32:46Speaker 2: independence and is a component of what created the Texas identity.
- 32:51Speaker 2: That history is also tied to farming and a cowboy
- 32:54Speaker 2: ethos that is incompatible with Chavez's ideology. Texas agriculture thrived
- 33:02Speaker 2: because of ranchers like my ancestors, who embraced a free
- 33:06Speaker 2: market approach, not because of unions or collectivist movements. Before
- 33:12Speaker 2: the New York Times expose, one could argue that Chavez
- 33:16Speaker 2: fought for Mexican Americans and deserved gratitude, Yet his legacy
- 33:20Speaker 2: has encouraged a troubling mindset. To be loyal to one's
- 33:24Speaker 2: Hispanic heritage, one must embrace left wing ideology. On campus,
- 33:29Speaker 2: I was often labeled a quote race trader at conservative events,
- 33:33Speaker 2: accused of quote wanting white approval, or dismissed as quote
- 33:37Speaker 2: two white passing to comment on border and immigration issues.
- 33:41Speaker 2: By the way, Horreramos on Spanish television accused me of
- 33:48Speaker 2: being a trader to my race, so I'm quite familiar
- 33:50Speaker 2: with that. The type of tribalism promoted by Chavez is
- 33:55Speaker 2: just like any other kind of identity politics, limiting and
- 33:59Speaker 2: stereotyping the people. It is intended to empower. In the
- 34:03Speaker 2: political climate in which Texas Hispanics are considering Republicans in
- 34:07Speaker 2: the ballot, it is clear why the left is feeling threatened.
- 34:11Speaker 2: So why is the street in Austin named after Caesar Chaves?
- 34:15Speaker 2: Why did his statue watch me as I walked to class?
- 34:18Speaker 2: The answer is clear ethnic tokenism. It was fitting for
- 34:23Speaker 2: Bill Clinton to award him a Presidential Medal of Freedom.
- 34:27Speaker 2: By the way, Bill Clinton, speaking of sexual predators, there
- 34:29Speaker 2: may have been a reason there and for Joe Biden
- 34:33Speaker 2: to display his bust in the Oval Office. Joe Biden
- 34:36Speaker 2: literally put up a bust of Caesar Chaves, who was
- 34:39Speaker 2: a child rapist in the Oval Office. Chavez represents the
- 34:43Speaker 2: Hispanic worker the political left wishes we all were obedient
- 34:50Speaker 2: to a union boss and beholden to collectivist ideology. The
- 34:55Speaker 2: UfW announced it will not be celebrating Caesar Chave's Day
- 34:58Speaker 2: this year. Amid the allegi as the idol all Hispanics
- 35:02Speaker 2: were once expected to adore is finally falling from his pedestal.
- 35:07Speaker 2: My hope is that we do not replace him with another.
- 35:11Speaker 3: Look. I think that is exceptionally well written.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Well done, and I have to give a little credit
- 35:16Speaker 1: to New York Times for actually publishing it.
- 35:18Speaker 3: Yes to agreed, like I'm shocked, I really am. Now.
- 35:23Speaker 2: To be clear, Chavez is not a current leftist leader.
- 35:26Speaker 2: If he was a current leader of the Democrat Party
- 35:29Speaker 2: that I don't think they would have published it. But
- 35:31Speaker 2: given that he's dead and buried, I think fact it
- 35:36Speaker 2: was after the fact. And look, what is sad is
- 35:40Speaker 2: that so many Democrats, so many leftists, knew that he
- 35:43Speaker 2: was a child rapist, and they kept their mouths shut
- 35:45Speaker 2: because ideology mattered more than truth or protecting kids.
