Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / ICC wants the Cuffs Thrown on Bibi, Rocket Ships w Elon & Bragg Ignores the Law Week In Review
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome in his verdict with Ted Cruz the week in Review,
- 0:03Speaker 1: Ben Ferguson with you, and we had a very busy
- 0:06Speaker 1: week with some top stories that maybe you miss well.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Let's start first with the shocking news that the ICC
- 0:14Speaker 1: wants to arrest Benjamin Net and Yahoo. We'll give you
- 0:17Speaker 1: the latest on this radical move by the ICC and
- 0:21Speaker 1: what it means moving forward and how the Trump administration
- 0:23Speaker 1: will respond. Also, Senator Cruz and Elon Musk, they were
- 0:28Speaker 1: together with President Trump watching this SpaceX launch. Senator Cruz
- 0:33Speaker 1: actually flew with President Trump on Trump Force one and
- 0:37Speaker 1: learned a lot about his cabinet and his administration. He'll
- 0:40Speaker 1: give you all those behind the scene details. It's really interesting.
- 0:44Speaker 1: And finally, Alvin Bragg going row get again, trying to
- 0:48Speaker 1: manipulate the courts into hitting pause on the Trump prosecution
- 0:54Speaker 1: for four years until after he leaves the presidency. We'll
- 0:58Speaker 1: give the details behind that. It is the Weekend Review
- 1:01Speaker 1: and it starts right now. Centaera. I want to pull
- 1:04Speaker 1: an audible real quick because I should have mentioned this earlier.
- 1:07Speaker 1: But as we were just talking about Israel, the ICC
- 1:11Speaker 1: issued an arrest warrant for Net and Yahoo and Gallant
- 1:16Speaker 1: and they also they're like, oh yeah, we threw in
- 1:19Speaker 1: a hamask guide too, so it looks like we're being
- 1:21Speaker 1: equal here. This is a shocking attack by the ICC
- 1:27Speaker 1: on net and Yahoo, and also one that makes it
- 1:31Speaker 1: very tough for him to travel more than likely the
- 1:34Speaker 1: way he needs to because of the threat of being arrested,
- 1:37Speaker 1: for example, if he is traveling to many parts of Europe.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Well, it is an absolute outrage and the ICC already
- 1:45Speaker 2: had very, very questionable legitimacy, but with this decision, the
- 1:49Speaker 2: International Criminal Court has just become a kangaroo court, and frankly,
- 1:55Speaker 2: that's not fair to kangaroos. I mean, I mean, it
- 1:57Speaker 2: is an absolute This is a a political act of
- 2:02Speaker 2: anti Israel hatred and anti Semitism that sadly infests so
- 2:07Speaker 2: many of our international institutions that that that just hate
- 2:13Speaker 2: Israel profoundly. And I believe the United States we should
- 2:17Speaker 2: impose sanctions on every individual involved in issuing this arrest warrant,
- 2:22Speaker 2: from the prosecutor to the judges, everyone involved. They should
- 2:26Speaker 2: be sanctioned by the United States government. We should also
- 2:29Speaker 2: make clear that we will sanction anyone who attempts to
- 2:32Speaker 2: enforce this arrest warrant. If you're a French prosecutor, be
- 2:36Speaker 2: prepared to have American sanctions put on you if you
- 2:40Speaker 2: try to enforce this this utterly lawless arrest warrant. And understand,
- 2:49Speaker 2: the reason that the ICC did this is because of
- 2:52Speaker 2: Joe Biden and Kamala Harris's incredible weakness. Listen, the ICC
- 2:56Speaker 2: has no jurisdiction over Israel. Israel is not a party
- 2:59Speaker 2: to the ic CC. It also has no jurisdiction over
- 3:02Speaker 2: the United States of America. And understand, this is a
- 3:04Speaker 2: threat not just against Israel, although it is very much that,
- 3:08Speaker 2: but this is a threat against America. This is a
- 3:10Speaker 2: threat against the people who hate America. Imagine these same
- 3:14Speaker 2: bigots who hate Israel how much they would love to
- 3:18Speaker 2: issue an arrest warrant for Donald Trump, or for the
- 3:21Speaker 2: Secretary of State or the Secretary of Defense of the
- 3:23Speaker 2: United States. And it is only because Joe Biden and
- 3:26Speaker 2: Kamala Harris are so weak that the ICC felt empowered
- 3:29Speaker 2: to issue this. It's not an accident that this came
- 3:33Speaker 2: out after the presidential election, but before Trump was sworn in.
- 3:37Speaker 2: That is when the enemies of Israel and the enemies
- 3:39Speaker 2: of America historically have done some of the worst actions
- 3:43Speaker 2: against the United States and against Israel. It is when
- 3:48Speaker 2: if you remember, at the end of Obama the last
- 3:52Speaker 2: time we were in this comparable moment, which is a
- 3:56Speaker 2: democratic administration was ending and Donald Trump was get ready
- 4:00Speaker 2: to be sworn in as president. That would have been
- 4:02Speaker 2: November and December of twenty sixteen, right after the election.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Obama was leaving. And remember what the Obama administration did.
- 4:10Speaker 2: They orchestrated UN Resolution two three three four, which is
- 4:14Speaker 2: one of the most shameful resolutions ever to be voted
- 4:17Speaker 2: on in the United Nations, and the Obama administration it.
- 4:23Speaker 2: This resolution denounced much of modern Israel as illegitimate and
- 4:28Speaker 2: illegally occupied. It denounced the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem as
- 4:33Speaker 2: illegitimate and illegally occupied. It denounced the Whaling Wall in
- 4:38Speaker 2: Jerusalem as illegally occupied and illegitimate. And what happened is
- 4:42Speaker 2: the Obama State Department orchestrated it, They got others to
- 4:46Speaker 2: push it, and they just stood back and abstained. And
- 4:50Speaker 2: I will tell you this week, I had a classified
- 4:52Speaker 2: briefing with Tony blink In the Secretary of State, and
- 4:55Speaker 2: I asked him very directly in that briefing. Is the
- 5:01Speaker 2: Biden administration going to do the same thing, Because last
- 5:04Speaker 2: time y'all did that, it profoundly hurt Israel. It was
- 5:10Speaker 2: used by the enemies of Israel to justify all sorts
- 5:14Speaker 2: of targeting against the people of Israel, and I'm very
- 5:17Speaker 2: concerned the Biden administration is going to try to orchestrate
- 5:19Speaker 2: something similar. At the United Nations, we had a vote
- 5:25Speaker 2: this week that actually the Biden administration blocked to their credit,
- 5:29Speaker 2: where the UN was trying to call for an immediate
- 5:31Speaker 2: cease fire of the war against Tamas, but they did
- 5:34Speaker 2: not include within it a demand that the hostages be released,
- 5:38Speaker 2: and the Biden administration vetoed it without the hostages being
- 5:42Speaker 2: released as part of the language. But I'm worried in
- 5:45Speaker 2: the next two months that they will try to do
- 5:48Speaker 2: something very similar to what happened in December of twenty
- 5:53Speaker 2: sixteen with two three thirty four. And I think that
- 5:57Speaker 2: this ICC arrest warrant is shamed. I also think the
- 6:00Speaker 2: incoming Trump administration is going to stand very strongly against
- 6:05Speaker 2: this absolutely disgraceful decision.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Thune came out and threatened the International Criminal Court with
- 6:10Speaker 1: sanctions if it doesn't drop the net and now who warrant
- 6:13Speaker 1: for rest? But he also called on Schumer to not
- 6:16Speaker 1: wait for the Republicans to get in charge to do
- 6:19Speaker 1: the right thing, and to do something now on this.
- 6:23Speaker 1: He said, if Majority Leader Schumer does not act, the
- 6:27Speaker 1: Senate Republicans majority will stand with our key ally Israel
- 6:31Speaker 1: and make this another supportive legislation a top priority in
- 6:35Speaker 1: the next Congress. Is there a chance that Schumer could
- 6:38Speaker 1: actually lead on this as Thum called on him to do,
- 6:41Speaker 1: and said, don't make us wait till January. Do the
- 6:44Speaker 1: right thing now for Israel.
- 6:47Speaker 2: I think the chances are virtually zero. So the House
- 6:49Speaker 2: has passed legislation to do exactly that, and Schumer has
- 6:54Speaker 2: refused to take it up the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
- 6:57Speaker 2: We have had legislation before us from Jim rish who's
- 7:00Speaker 2: getting ready to be the Republican chairman of the Foreign
- 7:03Speaker 2: Relations Committee, to do exactly that, to sanction the ICC
- 7:06Speaker 2: for doing this, and the Democrats have refused to take
- 7:09Speaker 2: it up. It's basically shut down the Foreign Relations Committee
- 7:12Speaker 2: for the last six months because the Democrats have blocked
- 7:16Speaker 2: legislation standing up to the ICC. And look, this is
- 7:21Speaker 2: on the unfortunate reality that in today's Democrat Party there
- 7:26Speaker 2: is a pro Haamas faction of the Democrat Party. And
- 7:31Speaker 2: I don't think that as hyperbole. It is tragically the case.
- 7:34Speaker 2: They are the ones cheering. We just had votes this
- 7:37Speaker 2: week that Bernie Sanders pushed on the floor to cut
- 7:40Speaker 2: off weapons to Israel, to cut off thirty two thousand
- 7:44Speaker 2: tank rounds to Israel, cut off over fifty thousand mortar
- 7:48Speaker 2: cartridges to Israel, to cut off to cut off the
- 7:52Speaker 2: kits that are used to make precision bombs. Now understand
- 7:56Speaker 2: the argument of the leftist is that when Israel is
- 8:00Speaker 2: bombing Hamas Er Hesbelah, they accidentally have incidental civilian casualties.
- 8:06Speaker 2: So what is their response. Take away the ability to
- 8:09Speaker 2: have targeted smart bombs, so they can only drop dumb
- 8:12Speaker 2: bombs that they can't steer. The difference a precision bomb
- 8:15Speaker 2: you can direct it so you hit your target and
- 8:17Speaker 2: it's much less likely to have collateral damage. These leftists
- 8:21Speaker 2: hate Israel so much they want to say, no, let's
- 8:23Speaker 2: take away your ability to target your weapons, so we
- 8:26Speaker 2: increase the number of civilians killed. And nineteen Senate Democrats
- 8:31Speaker 2: voted to cut off Israel's funds that pro Hamas faction
- 8:35Speaker 2: of the Democrat Party. Not every Democrat in the House
- 8:38Speaker 2: and Senate is a member of it, but just about
- 8:41Speaker 2: every single Democrat is terrified of that faction. And it's
- 8:45Speaker 2: why Schumer look that the internal the internal notes from
- 8:51Speaker 2: Columbia University when Columbia was having the anti Semitic protest
- 8:55Speaker 2: and the leaders of Columbia were talking to Schumer, Schumer
- 8:58Speaker 2: told them, don't worry about it. The Democrat we don't care.
- 9:00Speaker 2: It's only the Republicans who care about this. Understand what
- 9:04Speaker 2: that admission was, and that was out of Schumer's own mouth,
- 9:07Speaker 2: that we the Democrats, don't care about violent anti Semites
- 9:13Speaker 2: terrorizing students in Columbia University and other universities, threatening Jewish students.
- 9:18Speaker 2: It's not a priority for them. Why because they're terrified
- 9:22Speaker 2: by the Prohamas faction of the party who supports the
- 9:26Speaker 2: radicals and the anti Semites. That is tragically where we are.
- 9:30Speaker 2: And so I'm going to predict we will take up
- 9:33Speaker 2: the legislation to sanction the ICC, and we will do
- 9:36Speaker 2: it early next year when we have a Republican Congress
- 9:40Speaker 2: and a Republican president. I don't even know that we'll
- 9:42Speaker 2: need that legislation, though, because I expect the Trump administration
- 9:46Speaker 2: to act unilatterly, I think there's ample authority under the
- 9:49Speaker 2: law for them to act. Even if the Democrats filibuster
- 9:53Speaker 2: legislation to sanction the ICC, I think the president will
- 9:56Speaker 2: have ample authority to act come January twenty.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Now.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Want to hear the rest of this conversation, You can
- 10:02Speaker 1: go back and listen to the full podcast from earlier
- 10:05Speaker 1: this week.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Now onto story number two.
- 10:09Speaker 1: As we were watching it, or I was watching on
- 10:11Speaker 1: TV and many others were, I do have to say
- 10:13Speaker 1: one of the most fun parts for me of watching
- 10:16Speaker 1: you know, Trump and you and everybody there is just
- 10:19Speaker 1: the boy boyhood excitement is and I say that in
- 10:23Speaker 1: the in the in the the most sincere and authentic
- 10:27Speaker 1: way ever on the faces of everyone that was able
- 10:30Speaker 1: to watch us.
- 10:31Speaker 3: I don't care who you are, just getting.
- 10:33Speaker 1: To watch it and to see Elon's face and in
- 10:36Speaker 1: your face and President Trump's face and others that were
- 10:38Speaker 1: around you.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Guys.
- 10:39Speaker 1: I saw Haggarty there, for example. It was just the
- 10:42Speaker 1: moment of like, this is unbelievable.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Well, and it was traveling, so the starship itself traveled
- 10:50Speaker 2: halfway around the world, the booster separated. We saw the
- 10:54Speaker 2: booster separate, and initially the plan was that it was
- 10:58Speaker 2: going to go down and because by the robot arms
- 11:01Speaker 2: where it had been launched, and in fact it separates.
- 11:04Speaker 2: So the booster was attached to the starship for a
- 11:07Speaker 2: minute and a half and then it separated. And we
- 11:10Speaker 2: initially got the call catches a go, which we were
- 11:12Speaker 2: excited about because they only try to catch it if
- 11:15Speaker 2: all the conditions are right, and so they were going
- 11:18Speaker 2: to catch the booster, and then they ended up altering
- 11:21Speaker 2: the plan and not doing the catch, but having it
- 11:23Speaker 2: instead land in the Gulf of Mexico, and so the
- 11:26Speaker 2: conditions were slightly off and so they had it landed
- 11:28Speaker 2: the gulf. But Elon was really happy because it landed
- 11:31Speaker 2: in the golf but it did not explode. And last
- 11:35Speaker 2: time when it landed the golf, it did explode. And
- 11:37Speaker 2: so look, they're testing different things to see what happens.
- 11:40Speaker 2: And it was interesting. It floats in the water and
- 11:42Speaker 2: I was asking Elon why does it float? He says, well, look,
- 11:45Speaker 2: once once the liquid methane and liquid oxygen is out,
- 11:49Speaker 2: he said, it has the density essentially of an empty
- 11:52Speaker 2: beer can, and so just like you throw an empty
- 11:55Speaker 2: beer can on the water and it floats, that's the
- 11:57Speaker 2: same thing as the booster. And so they're going and
- 12:00Speaker 2: salvaging the booster and discovering, okay, what happened, what's going
- 12:04Speaker 2: on there? So that landed pretty quickly. The starship traveled
- 12:09Speaker 2: for about an hour and it landed, I think.
- 12:12Speaker 1: About going side after. How long were you outside? And
- 12:17Speaker 1: then where did you get to watch the second part?
- 12:19Speaker 3: So we were outside.
- 12:22Speaker 2: We arrived probably an hour before the launch, and so
- 12:25Speaker 2: we were talking with Elon and we were in the
- 12:28Speaker 2: control room and just having conversations, and we watched lunch,
- 12:32Speaker 2: and we watched the booster separate, and then we watched
- 12:35Speaker 2: the booster come down, although we couldn't see the booster
- 12:38Speaker 2: landed far enough out in the gulf that we couldn't
- 12:40Speaker 2: see with our naked eye the booster landing in the water,
- 12:43Speaker 2: but we had the video on a big screen, so
- 12:45Speaker 2: we were watching it there. And then what we did,
- 12:48Speaker 2: because you had about an hour while the starship was
- 12:51Speaker 2: traveling in space and it was going about twenty six
- 12:55Speaker 2: thousand kilometers an hour, it was about one hundred and
- 12:57Speaker 2: sixty kilometers above planet Earth. One of the things Elon
- 13:01Speaker 2: said is that the Starship was traveling about ten times
- 13:05Speaker 2: the speed of a bullet out of an assault rifle,
- 13:08Speaker 2: which there's an analogy you can understand, Ben and as
- 13:12Speaker 2: find out, Junior was laughing, going, all right, that makes
- 13:15Speaker 2: sense to me too.
- 13:15Speaker 3: But that's fast.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Yeah, that's fast on a whole nother level. And so
- 13:21Speaker 1: you got to watch all of this take place. How
- 13:24Speaker 1: important is this just this technology and the fact that
- 13:27Speaker 1: it's being done in Texas, because that is the reason
- 13:30Speaker 1: why you were on that plane. That's why they asked
- 13:33Speaker 1: you to go down there, because this is in Texas.
- 13:36Speaker 1: I don't think people realize what this is doing for
- 13:39Speaker 1: the Texas economy as well.
- 13:42Speaker 3: So it is incredible.
- 13:43Speaker 2: And while the Starship was flying halfway around the world,
- 13:47Speaker 2: we left the launch observation site. We went to the factory,
- 13:52Speaker 2: which is right at the launch site now the factory.
- 13:55Speaker 2: So five years ago this was essentially an empty beach,
- 14:00Speaker 2: just sand and nothing was on it.
- 14:03Speaker 3: And in five years Elon has built.
- 14:05Speaker 2: This incredible and I've been to it before, I've toured
- 14:08Speaker 2: it before, but but it is it takes your breath away.
- 14:12Speaker 2: They are manufacturing about one rocket ship a month. And
- 14:17Speaker 2: then these things are massive. So you go into the
- 14:19Speaker 2: factory and and there I think it was twenty two
- 14:22Speaker 2: stories high.
- 14:23Speaker 3: As how tall the booster is.
- 14:24Speaker 2: I mean, it just goes up and up and up
- 14:27Speaker 2: and up, and it's it's huge. And and you know,
- 14:29Speaker 2: we went in and saw and they are manufacturing them
- 14:33Speaker 2: to a level of precision down to the tenth of
- 14:36Speaker 2: a millimeter. I mean, you think about this, It's not
- 14:38Speaker 2: like it's not like SpaceX is making just widgets. I mean,
- 14:42Speaker 2: if a screw is wrong, the damn think can blow up.
- 14:46Speaker 2: There's so many ways for something to go wrong. And
- 14:51Speaker 2: and they have a level of precision that is just astonishing.
- 14:56Speaker 2: And so we went in and and and saw and toured.
- 14:59Speaker 2: And one of things Elon said is is, look, they're
- 15:02Speaker 2: doing launch after launch after launch and everyone they're improving
- 15:04Speaker 2: the technology and they're trying different things.
- 15:06Speaker 3: So one of the things they did on.
- 15:07Speaker 2: This one is they're testing different angles of re entry
- 15:12Speaker 2: to see, Okay, if you angle the starship at a
- 15:16Speaker 2: slightly different angle, is there more heat, is there less heat?
- 15:20Speaker 2: What what happens? You know, what what's the optimum angle?
- 15:23Speaker 2: So they're trying all sorts of different things. So we
- 15:26Speaker 2: toured those facilities. By the way, they like basically built
- 15:30Speaker 2: a whole town. They built housing for the employees. One
- 15:34Speaker 2: of the things Elon said that, you know, is a
- 15:36Speaker 2: challenge when you're recruiting the best engineers and rocket scientists
- 15:40Speaker 2: and they're literally rocket scientists, is he said, you've got
- 15:44Speaker 2: to find a place that that there significant others want
- 15:46Speaker 2: to live. And so they basically built a whole community
- 15:49Speaker 2: with like houses all around there. And like, I didn't
- 15:52Speaker 2: go this time, but I've been previously. They have like
- 15:54Speaker 2: a little tiki bar that's sort of a club that
- 15:58Speaker 2: the employees can go hang out and the you know,
- 16:00Speaker 2: he said, look, you gotta you have to create.
- 16:03Speaker 3: An environment that that that that that.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Both your your incredibly skilled employees and their significant.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Others want to be in.
- 16:11Speaker 2: And and one thing, you know, but not every every
- 16:13Speaker 2: Verdict listener may know, Look, Brownsville has historically been faced
- 16:20Speaker 2: very significant economic challenges and and so to have this
- 16:24Speaker 2: incredible high tech billions and billions of dollars invested in
- 16:29Speaker 2: Brownsville and in deep South Texas in the Rial Rand
- 16:33Speaker 2: Valley was really significant. By the way, when we took
- 16:36Speaker 2: the motorcade from where Trump Force one landed to the
- 16:39Speaker 2: launch site. The entire road side of driving along that
- 16:45Speaker 2: there were thousands of people waving signs, waving American flags, cheering.
- 16:50Speaker 2: And one of the most significant aspects of this election
- 16:54Speaker 2: in Texas is is that both Donald Trump and I,
- 16:59Speaker 2: both of us one Hispanics in the state of Texas.
- 17:02Speaker 2: I won Hispanics by six point statewide. That's unprecedented. And
- 17:07Speaker 2: the Rio Grande Valley, South Texas has been bright blue
- 17:11Speaker 2: for one hundred years. It has been just an absolute
- 17:15Speaker 2: bastion of the Democrat Party. And this election, South Texas
- 17:21Speaker 2: flipped red. I mean, the Star County had a fifty
- 17:25Speaker 2: point move. It's the most Hispanic county in America and
- 17:30Speaker 2: it had a massive move.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Trump won it.
- 17:33Speaker 2: The move in South Texas, I think is generational and transformational,
- 17:37Speaker 2: and you could just see it as people were cheering
- 17:40Speaker 2: and thrilled the President was there.
- 17:42Speaker 3: That was a very cool aspect of it as well.
- 17:44Speaker 1: All right, final question on this trip, So you get
- 17:47Speaker 1: done with all this excitement and then this is still
- 17:50Speaker 1: kind of awesome. You get back on Trump Force one
- 17:53Speaker 1: and you fly back to Florida. What was the conversation
- 17:57Speaker 1: like on the way home again.
- 18:00Speaker 2: It was relaxed. We're having fun, We're talking. You know,
- 18:03Speaker 2: we had had Fox on and so we're watching Jesse Waters,
- 18:07Speaker 2: lor Ingram and Hannity. We're talking about all that and
- 18:09Speaker 2: just sort of riffing back and forth. You know. As
- 18:13Speaker 2: we were landing, Trump began playing music. And so when
- 18:18Speaker 2: he stand at mar Lago, Trump likes to basically be
- 18:20Speaker 2: the DJ, and he has an iPad there that he
- 18:23Speaker 2: controls the music at mar Lago, and they'll sit there
- 18:25Speaker 2: at the table and just play the songs he wants
- 18:27Speaker 2: to listen to. And so as we were landing in
- 18:30Speaker 2: Palm Beach, he put on guns N' Roses, the music
- 18:34Speaker 2: video that he loves from guns N' Roses, and then
- 18:37Speaker 2: he put on another music video from Pavroti, which would
- 18:40Speaker 2: you want to talk about some breadth in music taste?
- 18:43Speaker 2: That That's what we were listening to as we went
- 18:47Speaker 2: wheels down back in Florida.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Now, did you eat any McDonald's, because there's a lot
- 18:51Speaker 1: of pictures that get taken on Trump for one eat McDonald's,
- 18:55Speaker 1: We did not.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Our dinner instead was Waterburger because we were in Texas.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Damage I love it.
- 19:00Speaker 1: See I set you up perfect for that answer. So
- 19:02Speaker 1: in the answer to that, did you I know, but
- 19:05Speaker 1: I set you up there perfectly. So what did he
- 19:07Speaker 1: say about whatburger compared to McDonald's. Was it a no
- 19:10Speaker 1: brainer for him?
- 19:11Speaker 3: He was like, this is a really good Hamburger. Wow,
- 19:13Speaker 3: this is really great. I mean he was I would
- 19:16Speaker 3: say he was a fan as before.
- 19:19Speaker 1: If you want to hear the rest of this conversation
- 19:21Speaker 1: on this topic, you can go back and down the
- 19:24Speaker 1: podcast from earlier this week to hear the entire thing.
- 19:27Speaker 1: I want to get back to the big story number
- 19:30Speaker 1: three of the week you may have missed. All right,
- 19:32Speaker 1: I want to ask you lastly about big news that happened,
- 19:36Speaker 1: and this is much more of a serious topic. Trump
- 19:40Speaker 1: team is declaring victory after the Manhattan prosecutors push for
- 19:45Speaker 1: a four year freeze on sentencing Donald Trump in his
- 19:49Speaker 1: business records case. I've never heard of this before in
- 19:53Speaker 1: my life. Maybe this is something that's normal. And Alvin
- 19:57Speaker 1: Bragg is upset. He's like, no, no, I still want
- 19:59Speaker 1: to go after dumb Trump. You gotta delay it. We'll
- 20:01Speaker 1: delay it. But I want him. I still want him.
- 20:03Speaker 1: I still believe I'm right. I still want to put
- 20:05Speaker 1: him in jail.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Well, President Trump has filed a motion to dismiss his
- 20:09Speaker 2: criminal conviction, and the Manhattan prosecutor, instead of agreeing to that,
- 20:15Speaker 2: has suggested to the judge, no, no, no, don't dismiss it.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Just put it on hold for four years, just freeze it.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Don't sentence him, just leave the conviction hanging out there.
- 20:25Speaker 2: And I got to say, look, unprecedented doesn't begin to
- 20:29Speaker 2: describe it. It is an absolute abuse of power. And look,
- 20:33Speaker 2: you got to understand, Alvin Bragg is an elected Democrat
- 20:37Speaker 2: in Manhattan.
- 20:38Speaker 3: In Manhattan, you've.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Still got an overwhelming majority of Democrats, many of whom
- 20:43Speaker 2: hate Donald Trump's guts, and so for Alvin Bragg, even
- 20:47Speaker 2: though politically nationally the persecution and lawfare of Donald Trump,
- 20:53Speaker 2: I think actually played a significant factor in his winning.
- 20:56Speaker 3: And that was the point I made to him on the.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Play, is that I said, we talked quite a bit
- 21:01Speaker 2: about all the cases and everything he's endured, and I said, look, ironically,
- 21:04Speaker 2: the more they went after you, the more I think
- 21:06Speaker 2: it helped you. And if it had been just one indictment,
- 21:10Speaker 2: it might have been more harmful, but there were so
- 21:12Speaker 2: many that it became obvious to anyone that this was
- 21:16Speaker 2: just a persecution. This was a political witch hunk. This
- 21:19Speaker 2: was a partisan effort to go after someone because they
- 21:23Speaker 2: were terrified that what would happen.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Is what, in fact did.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Happen, that the American people would vote to re elect him,
- 21:30Speaker 2: And I think, as I said, it ended up boosting
- 21:34Speaker 2: him significantly in the polls well. Even though it I
- 21:39Speaker 2: think was harmful to Democrats nationally in Manhattan, I suspect
- 21:44Speaker 2: it's quite helpful to Alvin Brad because there are a
- 21:46Speaker 2: lot of partisans who hate Trump. And I got to say,
- 21:50Speaker 2: I am very hopeful you know that.
- 21:54Speaker 3: This will be thrown out.
- 21:56Speaker 2: The judge Juan Marchan as Devin's, I think a lot
- 22:00Speaker 2: of bias. He is a partisan Democrat as well. It'll
- 22:06Speaker 2: be interesting to see what he does, because I think
- 22:11Speaker 2: if he agrees with the prosecutor, if he says, okay,
- 22:15Speaker 2: we're going to just put this on ice for four years,
- 22:18Speaker 2: I think that will prompt an appeal. It will probably
- 22:22Speaker 2: prompt what's called a Ritaman damus to an appellate court
- 22:25Speaker 2: to order either the case dismissed or to order him
- 22:29Speaker 2: to rule. Because what Alvin Bragg wants to do is
- 22:32Speaker 2: he wants to run for reelection saying I prosecuted Donald Trump,
- 22:37Speaker 2: I got a conviction of Donald Trump and to use it.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Number one for his political advantage. Number two, he wants
- 22:43Speaker 2: to avoid a repellate reversal, so he wants four years
- 22:46Speaker 2: of the appellate courts not not examining the many and
- 22:50Speaker 2: the rampant legal errors in his rulings. But number three,
- 22:55Speaker 2: he wants to use this to threaten the president, to
- 22:57Speaker 2: have it hang over. And this guy enough of a
- 23:00Speaker 2: zealoth that. I mean, he's literally talking about okay, four
- 23:04Speaker 2: plus years from now, when he's done with being president's
- 23:07Speaker 2: eighty two years old. Alvin Bragg wants to put him
- 23:09Speaker 2: in jail like it just to be there to threaten
- 23:12Speaker 2: the president every day. And by the way, number four,
- 23:15Speaker 2: he wants CNN and MSNBC and all of the corporate
- 23:18Speaker 2: media to refer to him as a convicted felon over
- 23:20Speaker 2: and over and over again.
- 23:22Speaker 3: And if the case is.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Thrown out, that becomes a lot more problematic. I do
- 23:27Speaker 2: not believe Alvin Bragg will succeed in this either. The
- 23:32Speaker 2: trial judge will say, look, this is not tenable. You
- 23:34Speaker 2: can't you can't have a jury verdict and then just
- 23:38Speaker 2: free sentencing for four years or if not, I think
- 23:41Speaker 2: we will see an appellate court step in and say
- 23:43Speaker 2: that this is inconsistent with New York law and it
- 23:47Speaker 2: is inconsistent with the Constitution.
- 23:49Speaker 3: I'm very hopeful that's.
- 23:50Speaker 1: What will happen, Senator. Finally, I want to hit something else.
- 23:54Speaker 1: That is I have to admit I am enjoying this
- 23:57Speaker 1: watching the liberal media meltdown. The View had an all
- 24:01Speaker 1: time melt down about Donald Trump's win. Joy Mayhar on
- 24:06Speaker 1: The View said this to the audience, take a listen,
- 24:10Speaker 1: I do.
- 24:10Speaker 3: You know what's in the air? Whoopy, what's sump? Is?
- 24:12Speaker 3: We lost the election? When at it we lost the election.
- 24:16Speaker 3: We're miserable. Half of this country is miserable. And let's
- 24:19Speaker 3: just tell the truth. We hate that he won.
- 24:22Speaker 1: We hate everybody. I mean, I know we're all like Nazis,
- 24:30Speaker 1: and I know that we're all deplorables, and I know
- 24:32Speaker 1: that we're all floating garbage. But you would think they
- 24:35Speaker 1: would have learned from losing an election, and clearly they're not.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Look, I got to say, if Joy Behar is crying
- 24:45Speaker 2: on TV and is miserable and is unhappy. That's a
- 24:48Speaker 2: good day for America because her radical and extreme ideas
- 24:52Speaker 2: that they're hurting the country. And you know, that may
- 24:56Speaker 2: be the most honest thing she's ever said on the
- 24:58Speaker 2: view because she is as a hard leftist and and
- 25:02Speaker 2: and notice she's learned nothing, She's listened to nothing. There's
- 25:06Speaker 2: no part nobody on that show has stopped to say, wait,
- 25:11Speaker 2: why did the American people overwhelmingly reject our disastrous policy agenda.
- 25:16Speaker 2: They're not asking that. They're just mad at at at
- 25:20Speaker 2: what they views as the idiot voters. And listen, that's
- 25:24Speaker 2: an arrogance that we see in elected democrats. It's an
- 25:27Speaker 2: arrogance we see throughout the corporate media. Uh and and
- 25:30Speaker 2: I think it's going to it's going to fuel their
- 25:33Speaker 2: their doubling down and getting, if anything, even more extreme.
- 25:38Speaker 1: As always, thank you for listening to Verdict with Center,
