- 0:01Speaker 1: Is Biden's age finally going to be an issue for
- 0:04Speaker 1: the average voter. I'm not talking about those that pay
- 0:07Speaker 1: attention all the time. I'm talking about those that pay
- 0:10Speaker 1: attention right before election day. MSNBC now showing signs of
- 0:16Speaker 1: actually worrying about the president's fall at the Air Force Academy.
- 0:21Speaker 1: It was clearly a fall that he didn't well. Not
- 0:24Speaker 1: only did not see it coming, but it took him
- 0:26Speaker 1: a little bit to get up. Three different people had
- 0:28Speaker 1: to help him up. Even though the headlines were saying
- 0:30Speaker 1: yesterday by Reuters he recovered quickly.
- 0:33Speaker 2: No he didn't.
- 0:34Speaker 1: They also lied and said he got to a knee,
- 0:36Speaker 1: one knee by himself. No he didn't. If you watch
- 0:38Speaker 1: the video, he didn't. There's also another interesting issue, and
- 0:41Speaker 1: that as the bottom of the president's shoes. Clearly they're
- 0:44Speaker 1: customed with lots of rubber and with some offsets in them.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Many people have been commenting on that. Now in life, yes,
- 0:53Speaker 1: everyone is going to age, everyone's going.
- 0:55Speaker 2: To lose their step. People do fall.
- 0:58Speaker 1: President's fall, but this president is falling more than any
- 1:03Speaker 1: other president we've ever seen publicly in history. I don't
- 1:07Speaker 1: like it, by the way, when a president falls down,
- 1:09Speaker 1: And I'm being clear about this. From a political standpoint,
- 1:12Speaker 1: I think it shows weakness. I think it's a way
- 1:15Speaker 1: for world leaders to mock our president. It doesn't help
- 1:17Speaker 1: us with our adversaries and people like ISIS or al Qaida,
- 1:20Speaker 1: or Russia or China. It doesn't make America look strong.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I worry about a president that falls going upstairs three times.
- 1:28Speaker 1: I worry about a president that falls standing still on
- 1:30Speaker 1: a bike. I worry about a president that falls coming
- 1:33Speaker 1: off of stage. I worry about a president that falls
- 1:36Speaker 1: at the Air Force Academy when we're supposed to be
- 1:38Speaker 1: talking about how important it is for our military, our
- 1:42Speaker 1: Air force to be ready to deal with China or
- 1:45Speaker 1: Russia or anyone else. This goes back to what I've
- 1:50Speaker 1: said for a long time. I never root for a president,
- 1:54Speaker 1: regardless of party, to fail on national defense issues, on
- 1:59Speaker 1: national security issues, on foreign affairs issues that affected the
- 2:04Speaker 1: United States of America. Whether it's Barack Obama, Joe Biden,
- 2:08Speaker 1: Donald Trump, George Bush, I don't care how Jimmy Carter.
- 2:11Speaker 1: You look at Jimmy Carter, and this will probably make
- 2:13Speaker 1: my point more crystal clear. When the Iran hostage crisis
- 2:18Speaker 1: took place in nineteen seventy eight, seventy nine, and there
- 2:22Speaker 1: was a week president named Jimmy Carter, and it cost
- 2:24Speaker 1: him ultimately. I think that, and also the gas shortage
- 2:27Speaker 1: and the fact that he just unfortunately wasn't a very
- 2:29Speaker 1: good president.
- 2:32Speaker 2: I wanted him to succeed.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Then you look back in history and look at those
- 2:36Speaker 1: Americans that were held hostage and the way they were treated,
- 2:38Speaker 1: and Iran and that debacle and how much it weakened
- 2:41Speaker 1: America on the world stage. I would never want a
- 2:45Speaker 1: president even if it means quote, getting Ronald Reagan right
- 2:49Speaker 1: like Jimmy Carter gave us Ronald Reagan.
- 2:51Speaker 2: But I don't want it that way.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I don't want a president to screw up in Americans
- 2:56Speaker 1: to be hurt and to have dictators and tyrants come
- 2:59Speaker 1: into power and gain or power. And that's why I
- 3:02Speaker 1: go back to this. I don't like seeing Joe Biden
- 3:04Speaker 1: fall down. The first time it happens, you kind of laugh, right,
- 3:08Speaker 1: because it's more just funny. But when you start seeing
- 3:11Speaker 1: it as often as we're seeing it, I don't like
- 3:13Speaker 1: it because I think it puts America in a really
- 3:16Speaker 1: bad and a really weak spot.
- 3:18Speaker 2: And that's exactly apparently.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Now what MSNBC is saying, MSNBC is now worried that
- 3:25Speaker 1: the country, not the world, not our foreign policy, not
- 3:28Speaker 1: our adversaries, but that the American viewers are now going
- 3:32Speaker 1: to see Joe Biden go Yeah, maybe he really is
- 3:35Speaker 1: just too old to be president, maybe he can't handle
- 3:39Speaker 1: the job. Now there's a unique dynamic on Morning Joe.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Joe Scarborough is married to Merca and they're sitting side
- 3:47Speaker 1: by side. She doesn't like it when anybody criticizes Joe Biden.
- 3:51Speaker 1: And you can hear Joe Biden saying it was a
- 3:52Speaker 1: tough fall, and she kind of yells.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Back, stop it.
- 3:55Speaker 1: But then I want you to hear what the other commentator,
- 3:58Speaker 1: Jonathan Lemire has to say.
- 3:59Speaker 2: A out Joe Biden and this fall.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Biden's fall yesterday it was okay, looked like a hard fall.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Glad he got up and he was he was okay
- 4:12Speaker 3: with it.
- 4:12Speaker 2: But obviously though.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Again Biden's talking tonight, we've been talking about things that
- 4:19Speaker 3: actually do matter, the legislation. At the same time, there's
- 4:22Speaker 3: some people in the campaign. I'm sure that we're only
- 4:24Speaker 3: going oh, come on, yeah.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Yeah, no doubt.
- 4:28Speaker 4: The first of all, a rare moment of self awareness
- 4:30Speaker 4: from Donald Trump there to.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Acknowledge that he also had from trouble walking.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Around actually at a service academy and graduation. Those things
- 4:37Speaker 4: apparently are tough for commanders in chief. But yes, in
- 4:39Speaker 4: terms of president, in terms of President Biden, when I
- 4:42Speaker 4: says he is fine, it.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Was a hard fall.
- 4:44Speaker 4: He tripped over a sandbag that was there on stage.
- 4:46Speaker 4: He was clearly in some pain afterwards, he was very
- 4:49Speaker 4: ginger as gingerly sat down afterwards, but he continued throughout
- 4:52Speaker 4: the ceremony, got back.
- 4:54Speaker 2: On Air Force one.
- 4:55Speaker 4: As you say, he did bump his head on the
- 4:57Speaker 4: Marine one as he stepped off the hell helicopter on
- 5:00Speaker 4: the White House lawn. But he does seems fine. But yes,
- 5:02Speaker 4: on a serious quote, this is and you're right. We
- 5:04Speaker 4: have spent correctly the majority of this block talking about
- 5:08Speaker 4: the that ceiling bill and that accomplishment. But presidents do fall,
- 5:12Speaker 4: they do, They trip and fall. President Obama did a
- 5:14Speaker 4: few times. But no president's ever been eighty one years
- 5:17Speaker 4: old run for reelection while they did so.
- 5:19Speaker 2: His age is an issue here.
- 5:22Speaker 1: His age is an issue here, and that's the difference
- 5:25Speaker 1: between the other falls in this fall you know, Barack
- 5:27Speaker 1: Obama or George Bush forty one or forty three, those
- 5:31Speaker 1: were not age issues. That was just okay, you fell. Now,
- 5:35Speaker 1: look I fell. I don't know, three months ago. There
- 5:40Speaker 1: was a hole in the ground basically a little bit
- 5:43Speaker 1: of a sinkhole when I was with my kids running
- 5:45Speaker 1: through a field, and I ate it, like hard, okay
- 5:50Speaker 1: that that happens. Now, this sandbag on stage, it was
- 5:53Speaker 1: clear that that sandbag was the cause of the fall.
- 5:57Speaker 1: And I hate it for this president because I don't
- 6:00Speaker 1: want him to look like this on the world stage.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I put politics aside on this one, Like I think
- 6:05Speaker 1: it's really really sad when people try to play politics
- 6:09Speaker 1: the following. I think that's part of the reason why
- 6:10Speaker 1: Donald Trump was saying it the way that he said
- 6:12Speaker 1: it about this. But what you heard there at the
- 6:15Speaker 1: very end, he said, this is going to be a
- 6:18Speaker 1: storyline they have to deal with, referring to the campaign.
- 6:20Speaker 1: This is a liberal MSNBC. They're gonna have to, you know,
- 6:25Speaker 1: they got to deal with this. They feel like voters
- 6:27Speaker 1: in twenty twenty know how old Joe Biden is. They
- 6:29Speaker 1: know how old he is now. They like the job
- 6:32Speaker 1: he's doing. It seems like he is fine. But at
- 6:34Speaker 1: the end of the day, now it's four years later,
- 6:37Speaker 1: and four years later, you can have Reuters lie to
- 6:41Speaker 1: you and say, oh, he got to one knee and
- 6:42Speaker 1: he recovered quickly. That's not what happened here. I also
- 6:47Speaker 1: want you to hear what Donald Trump said in this
- 6:51Speaker 1: town hall about cognitive decline.
- 6:53Speaker 5: Listen, just the interviews that we've had together, and we've
- 6:56Speaker 5: had many over the years, I have asked you repeatedly
- 6:59Speaker 5: about what you think about Joe Biden's cognitive state. I've
- 7:03Speaker 5: asked you about is he up to the job physically mentally.
- 7:08Speaker 2: You have been very reluctant to go there. I'm not
- 7:12Speaker 2: reluctant to me.
- 7:14Speaker 5: Is everyone agree with me that this guy's cognitively not there?
- 7:18Speaker 5: I doubt he knows what day of the week it
- 7:20Speaker 5: is today. That's how bad I think it's gotten for him.
- 7:25Speaker 5: Why are you reluctant to call that out? Well, I
- 7:27Speaker 5: don't know if I'm supposed to say this.
- 7:29Speaker 6: I actually called Sean and I asked Sean not to
- 7:32Speaker 6: joke about it. I was jok because he used to
- 7:34Speaker 6: joke about it, and I said, honestly, I don't think
- 7:37Speaker 6: it looks good for you or for anybody for you
- 7:39Speaker 6: to joke about it, because it's a serious play.
- 7:41Speaker 5: I was talking about sippy cup and warm milky at
- 7:44Speaker 5: night and bedtime stories.
- 7:47Speaker 6: So I said, I just don't think it's good for anybody,
- 7:49Speaker 6: and you know it's not appropriate. You can speak about
- 7:53Speaker 6: it if you want, but I don't think I should
- 7:55Speaker 6: joke about it.
- 7:55Speaker 5: And you really didn't after that. Well, now I realize
- 7:58Speaker 5: how serious it is, especially we'll get into foreign.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Policy, and even Sean Hanny there's like, you know what,
- 8:04Speaker 1: You're probably right, like, this is not something we want
- 8:07Speaker 1: to joke about with our adversaries out there. This is
- 8:10Speaker 1: not something that we should be joking about. The age
- 8:13Speaker 1: issue is going to be an issue in this election,
- 8:16Speaker 1: and I don't believe it's really about age. I think
- 8:19Speaker 1: it's about a cognitive decline.
- 8:21Speaker 2: And if the.
- 8:22Speaker 1: President continues to fall down, whether it's a sandbag or
- 8:28Speaker 1: whether it's a whatever the reason is, it is a
- 8:32Speaker 1: glaring moment where people just have to look at this
- 8:35Speaker 1: and go, Okay, maybe he is really suffering from a
- 8:40Speaker 1: cognitive decline. And I don't believe that we should make
- 8:45Speaker 1: fun of it. You know, I go back to what
- 8:48Speaker 1: the Democrats did with Fetterman. I believe it was straight
- 8:51Speaker 1: up abuse. What they did with Fetterman. The fact that
- 8:54Speaker 1: they ran him knowing you couldn't put together two cents
- 8:57Speaker 1: is they knew that he was not the guy that
- 8:59Speaker 1: should be running. They knew that he should drop out.
- 9:02Speaker 1: They didn't care. They wanted to win that seat so bad.
- 9:04Speaker 1: They didn't care if it put him into clinical depression,
- 9:07Speaker 1: as he had to go be treated for it.
- 9:08Speaker 2: They just want to win.
- 9:09Speaker 1: And that's how I really do believe they look at
- 9:11Speaker 1: it right now. That's how they look at how they're
- 9:14Speaker 1: dealing with Joe Biden now. They don't care. Prop him up,
- 9:18Speaker 1: hold him up, drag him around, make him wave to
- 9:21Speaker 1: the crowd. It's empty suit candidate. We don't care. We
- 9:24Speaker 1: have to win at all costs, no matter what we
- 9:26Speaker 1: have to win. I want to move on to another
- 9:29Speaker 1: important issue, and that deals with Jim Jordan. Jim Jordan,
- 9:33Speaker 1: who is a phenomenal congressman that is laser focused on
- 9:39Speaker 1: the FBI's role in Trump's Special Council investigation. He has
- 9:45Speaker 1: focused on especially after the DRM report exposes the massive
- 9:50Speaker 1: political bias at the FBI. He's now after the whole
- 9:56Speaker 1: entire budget battle is over. He's getting people focused on
- 10:00Speaker 1: the biggest story that matters to all of US. House
- 10:05Speaker 1: Judiciary Committee Chairman Jordan has now launched an official probe
- 10:09Speaker 1: to conduct oversight over Special Counsel Jack Smiths probe into
- 10:14Speaker 1: former President Donald Trump for the handling of the papers
- 10:18Speaker 1: at mar Lago. This is obviously massive new breaking news
- 10:23Speaker 1: because this isn't just about Russia.
- 10:25Speaker 2: This isn't about the past.
- 10:26Speaker 1: This is now about the present and the handling of
- 10:29Speaker 1: the papers at Marlago. In a letter to the Attorney
- 10:33Speaker 1: General Merritt Garland, Jordan requested information about the probe to
- 10:38Speaker 1: ensure the investigation is not politicized by the FBI, which
- 10:42Speaker 1: suffers from a lack of public trust after improperly involving
- 10:46Speaker 1: itself in the twenty sixteen Russian hoax. He said, quote
- 10:51Speaker 1: due to the FBI's documented political bias, the Justice Department
- 10:55Speaker 1: must ensure any ongoing investigations poisoned by this same politicalization,
- 11:03Speaker 1: Jordan said to Garland in reference to the Special Council
- 11:06Speaker 1: John Durham's report on Crossfire Hurricane. Durham's report also confirmed
- 11:11Speaker 1: what many suspected since the Russian hoak narrative began that
- 11:15Speaker 1: the FBI launched a completely politically motivated attack against a
- 11:21Speaker 1: sitting president, using the weak pretext to swiftly initiate a
- 11:26Speaker 1: probe into him while dismissing the intelligence that Hillary Clinton's
- 11:31Speaker 1: campaign actually plotted, paid for, and perpetrated the false narrative
- 11:36Speaker 1: along with the Democratic National Committee, and the FBI knew
- 11:39Speaker 1: this the entire time. They knew that it was a
- 11:42Speaker 1: false narrative of any type of Russian collusion. In fact,
- 11:45Speaker 1: if you remember, they offered to pay the author of
- 11:49Speaker 1: that dossier a million dollars if he could corroborate anything
- 11:53Speaker 1: in it, and guess what, he couldn't. The FBI knew
- 11:57Speaker 1: it was a lie. It didn't matter. They wanted to
- 12:00Speaker 1: have a coup. They wanted to take away your vote,
- 12:03Speaker 1: and they wanted to screw you. And that's exactly what
- 12:05Speaker 1: they were trying to do from the very beginning the
- 12:08Speaker 1: Clintons campaign. Not only do they plot to attack this,
- 12:12Speaker 1: you know, Donald Trump his campaign, but then many Democrats
- 12:15Speaker 1: are like, hey, we don't like that the American people
- 12:18Speaker 1: picked him.
- 12:19Speaker 2: We can now just get rid of him.
- 12:21Speaker 1: There's one other person that has still not been held
- 12:23Speaker 1: accountable for this and deserves to be in serious trouble
- 12:26Speaker 1: and have his legacy change over all this, and that
- 12:29Speaker 1: is a guy by the name of Barack Obama. Can
- 12:32Speaker 1: we just pause for a second and talk about the
- 12:34Speaker 1: fact that Barack Obama knew that they were spying on
- 12:39Speaker 1: the Trump campaign. Can we talk about the fact that
- 12:42Speaker 1: he knew they were going to fight the court. Can
- 12:44Speaker 1: we talk about the fact that he had been briefed
- 12:46Speaker 1: and he knew, without a shout of a doubt, that
- 12:50Speaker 1: Donald Trump was not colluding with the Russians. He also
- 12:53Speaker 1: knew that Joe Biden was incredibly corrupt. He knew that
- 12:57Speaker 1: Hunter Biden had been hooring out the White House to
- 13:00Speaker 1: the highest bidder. He knew that Hunter Biden and Joe
- 13:04Speaker 1: Biden were compromised by the Chinese, by the Ukrainians, and
- 13:08Speaker 1: by the Russians.
- 13:09Speaker 2: He was briefed on it all.
- 13:11Speaker 1: He knew that Donald Trump had no relationship with some
- 13:14Speaker 1: random bank in Russia.
- 13:15Speaker 2: He was briefed on it. He knew that the DNC
- 13:19Speaker 2: paid for it.
- 13:20Speaker 1: He knew that Hillary Clinton paid for the Steele dossier,
- 13:24Speaker 1: and he knew that the dossier could not be corroborated
- 13:27Speaker 1: yet in his final days in the White House, he
- 13:30Speaker 1: let all this happen, including spying on the incoming president
- 13:33Speaker 1: United States of America, not telling the incoming president United
- 13:36Speaker 1: States of America any of what he knew. That is
- 13:41Speaker 1: the problem, and the fact that no one is holding
- 13:44Speaker 1: him accountable for what he did, and what he did
- 13:47Speaker 1: was basically sanctioned this. He sanctioned it, folks. Barack Obama
- 13:53Speaker 1: knew all of this was happening, and he allowed it
- 13:56Speaker 1: to happen. As the President of Unitedate's America. He could
- 13:58Speaker 1: have put a stop to it. He could have go
- 14:00Speaker 1: on to the DOJ, he could have gone to the FBI,
- 14:02Speaker 1: and he could have said, stop doing this, stop abusing
- 14:04Speaker 1: your power.
- 14:04Speaker 2: This is wrong.
- 14:05Speaker 1: We shouldn't do this to our political opponents. So I
- 14:07Speaker 1: don't know he let it happen and didn't I would argue,
- 14:09Speaker 1: you didn't even let it happen. He clearly gave a
- 14:12Speaker 1: wink and a nod to do it, and no one
- 14:15Speaker 1: has held him accountable for any of this. The FBI
- 14:19Speaker 1: knew everything before they started this. In fact, they knew
- 14:22Speaker 1: it so much so that they even went to the
- 14:24Speaker 1: White House to try to trap people in lies. General Flynn,
- 14:29Speaker 1: the arrogance the FBI director James Comy, and what did
- 14:33Speaker 1: James Comy do?
- 14:34Speaker 2: James Comy was a.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Guy that literally knew he was going to ruin a
- 14:38Speaker 1: man's life or try to, and just sent a couple
- 14:41Speaker 1: FBI guys over the White House the situation Room to
- 14:45Speaker 1: entrap General Flynn so he could then nail him and
- 14:48Speaker 1: hopefully get some dirt on Donald Trump.
- 14:51Speaker 2: And he was proud of it.
- 14:52Speaker 1: He said they were too stupid to know that there
- 14:54Speaker 1: should be a lawyer present. Or maybe General ff Flynn
- 14:58Speaker 1: is just a great patriot. Maybe General Flynn is a
- 15:00Speaker 1: kind and good man who trusted his government. When they
- 15:04Speaker 1: sent a couple FBI agents over, he didn't think he
- 15:07Speaker 1: needed an attorney. Public trust and the FBI is low,
- 15:11Speaker 1: Jordan said in his recent letter. Recent example is a
- 15:15Speaker 1: political bias in the FBI and the Department of Justice. Operations,
- 15:18Speaker 1: He continues in his letters, show that the so called
- 15:22Speaker 1: corrective measures the FBI institute after Crossfire Hurricane have done
- 15:26Speaker 1: nothing to address, let alone cure, the institutional rot that
- 15:32Speaker 1: pervades the FBI. He calls it institutional rot. They get busted,
- 15:39Speaker 1: nothing happens. They get busted again, nothing happens, they get
- 15:42Speaker 1: busted again. They're not even ashamed of it. They're actually
- 15:44Speaker 1: proud of it. I think they get off on the
- 15:46Speaker 1: idea that they can do whatever they want to. That's
- 15:48Speaker 1: why Jim Jordan refers to the FBI and the deep
- 15:51Speaker 1: state as having an institutional rot and that's why Jordan says, quote,
- 15:58Speaker 1: we therefore request that you provide the following information. Number One,
- 16:04Speaker 1: Provide information about the use of FBI personnel by Special
- 16:08Speaker 1: Counsel Jack Smith, including, but not limited to, the following
- 16:12Speaker 1: the total number of FBI employees assigned to work on
- 16:15Speaker 1: this investigation. B the number of FBI employees from FBI
- 16:20Speaker 1: Headquarters working on the investigation, and see the number of
- 16:24Speaker 1: FBI employees from the Washington Field office working on the investigation.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Explain whether any FBI employees who have worked on Special
- 16:33Speaker 1: Counsel Smith's investigation previously worked on any other matters concerning
- 16:39Speaker 1: President Trump. He also asked, and that's a very important question.
- 16:44Speaker 1: And explain whether Special Counsel Smith's investigation relies on any
- 16:49Speaker 1: information or material gathered exclusively by the FBI prior to
- 16:57Speaker 1: the Special Council investigation. When we oh they had no
- 17:01Speaker 1: problem ying to the American people and cooking the books.
- 17:05Speaker 1: That's what he's saying. This is a really big deal,
- 17:08Speaker 1: the fact that Congress is now being forced to probe
- 17:13Speaker 1: the FBI and its role and Donald Trump and mar Lago,
- 17:17Speaker 1: the raid and the Special Council investigation of Donald Trump.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Jordan's letter comes as a special counsel's probe apparently is
- 17:25Speaker 1: nearing its completion. Garland quote appointed a special council to
- 17:30Speaker 1: investigate Trump's alleged mishandling of classified documents, along with his
- 17:34Speaker 1: efforts to challenge a twenty twenty presidential election.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Jim Jordan having none of it.
- 17:39Speaker 7: Folks, listen a committee hearing a few weeks ago, mister Gates,
- 17:45Speaker 7: he said, when is the FBI going to quit interfering
- 17:47Speaker 7: with elections? Twenty sixteen? They spied on President Trump's campaign
- 17:51Speaker 7: twenty eighteen, it was the Muller investigation.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Twenty twenty.
- 17:54Speaker 7: They suppresed information about the Hunter Biden story. Twenty twenty two.
- 17:57Speaker 7: They raided the President's home ninety one days before an election.
- 18:00Speaker 7: Maybe it'd be nice if the FBI the Justice Department
- 18:03Speaker 7: just stayed out of it. Let we the people decide
- 18:05Speaker 7: who we think should represent us who we think should
- 18:07Speaker 7: lead us.
- 18:07Speaker 2: That's supposed to be how America works.
- 18:09Speaker 7: So this is the focus on the Judiciary Committee, the
- 18:12Speaker 7: political nature at the Justice Department, and the linkage now
- 18:14Speaker 7: to what was happening with the Hunter Biden story. Again,
- 18:18Speaker 7: just fifteen days before we have a presidential elections.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Pay very close attention to Jim Jordan and what he's doing.
- 18:28Speaker 1: He's telling you what happened. He's telling you what he's doing.
- 18:33Speaker 1: He's not backing down. And after this debt ceiling debacle,
- 18:39Speaker 1: a debacle that by the way, we're going to talk
- 18:43Speaker 1: about the winners and the loaders ers in a moment
- 18:44Speaker 1: with Senator Ted Cruz, but he's trying to remind you
- 18:48Speaker 1: right away.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Okay, we're past this now.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Let's get back to the real issue at hand, the
- 18:55Speaker 1: investigation of the abuse of power the DOJ and the
- 18:59Speaker 1: FBI and by the Democratic Party to take down their
- 19:02Speaker 1: political enemies and protect the Biden crime family at all costs,
- 19:06Speaker 1: no matter what.

- 20:09Speaker 1: The Senate has decided they're going to go along with
- 20:12Speaker 1: the House in essence and send it to the President's
- 20:15Speaker 1: desk with just days away from the quote default deadline,
- 20:19Speaker 1: and as long as Joe Biden doesn't fall down again,
- 20:22Speaker 1: I'm assuming it's going to sign this thing. So what
- 20:25Speaker 1: does it actually mean for the American people. Well, we're
- 20:28Speaker 1: going to give you a glimpse of what happened in Washington,
- 20:31Speaker 1: DC today with my co host of Verdict to Ted Cruz.
- 20:34Speaker 1: And if you've never downloaded verdictra Ted Cruz, do it.
- 20:38Speaker 1: We're going to do a deep dive this morning on
- 20:41Speaker 1: how we got to this point from Washington's perspective. Senator,
- 20:46Speaker 1: always a pleasure to have you on the show.
- 20:48Speaker 2: And this deal was done.
- 20:51Speaker 1: It is a deal that Democrats seem to be pretty
- 20:54Speaker 1: happy with. There's a lot of Republicans that actually seem
- 20:57Speaker 1: to be pretty happy with it. There's no ende cation.
- 21:00Speaker 1: The President's not going to sign this. So were there
- 21:03Speaker 1: positive things in this bill that conservatives, true concernives can
- 21:08Speaker 1: feel good about.
- 21:10Speaker 8: Oh, look, sure, there's not nothing in the bill that
- 21:13Speaker 8: There are some elements. There is some expansion of work
- 21:17Speaker 8: requirements for welfare that's beneficial, and there is some recision
- 21:25Speaker 8: of unspent COVID emergency funds that's beneficial. And there are
- 21:31Speaker 8: some marginal spending cuts so that's beneficial.
- 21:35Speaker 2: There's also some.
- 21:37Speaker 8: Modest improvements in permitting and reforms. The problem is the
- 21:43Speaker 8: price for that was four trillion dollars in debt, and
- 21:48Speaker 8: the benefits we got were much much smaller than the consequence.
- 21:56Speaker 1: There's always the question of, Okay, we got power back
- 21:59Speaker 1: in the House. House Senator, did the House do enough
- 22:03Speaker 1: to push back from the brink? Of course, the threat right,
- 22:08Speaker 1: there's going to be a collapse. We're going to default.
- 22:10Speaker 1: It will be horrific. America never can default on its loans.
- 22:14Speaker 1: It doesn't default on its loans. And the White House
- 22:17Speaker 1: wasn't speaking to McCarthy for quite some time after they
- 22:20Speaker 1: had to sit down, and even the next day I
- 22:22Speaker 1: think they were in a prayer breakfast. McCarthy said, you know,
- 22:25Speaker 1: they even said to the room, we're going to get
- 22:27Speaker 1: together again soon and work on this.
- 22:28Speaker 2: They clearly wanted to wait till the end so.
- 22:32Speaker 1: That this thing could get rammed through Congress quickly without
- 22:36Speaker 1: a lot of people even having enough time to really
- 22:39Speaker 1: dive into it. Yes, thank goodness, there was seventy two
- 22:42Speaker 1: hours to look into it. But at the end of
- 22:44Speaker 1: the day, this was a catastrophic, chaotic moment that was
- 22:48Speaker 1: created by design. Did the Republicans of the House stay
- 22:52Speaker 1: true to what they promised the voters when we gave
- 22:54Speaker 1: them the House in November?
- 22:57Speaker 8: Well, look, there were a number of House Conservatives that
- 22:59Speaker 8: ultimately know on this deal, and if you're a conservative,
- 23:03Speaker 8: you voted no. This was a deal where the majority
- 23:08Speaker 8: of the votes that came for it came from Democrats.
- 23:11Speaker 8: The Democrats in the Senate, all but five Democrats voted
- 23:15Speaker 8: for this deal. We had thirty one Republicans vote no
- 23:22Speaker 8: on this deal. So you can see from the votes,
- 23:25Speaker 8: you can see from where people lined up. Mitt Romney
- 23:28Speaker 8: was a yes. That tells you a lot about where
- 23:31Speaker 8: this bill ended up. I was a no, Mike Lee
- 23:35Speaker 8: was a no. Rand Paul was a no. If you
- 23:37Speaker 8: are a conservative, you voted no. And the reason is
- 23:43Speaker 8: it's exactly what Joe Biden has told his people that
- 23:46Speaker 8: the Biden agenda got funded. In this We're at thirty
- 23:50Speaker 8: two trillion dollars in debt two years from now, will
- 23:53Speaker 8: be at least at thirty six trillion dollars in debt,
- 23:56Speaker 8: So a four trillion dollar blank check is what the
- 24:00Speaker 8: Democrats got. We did not cut the eighty billion in
- 24:04Speaker 8: new funding for eighty seven thousand new IRS agents that
- 24:08Speaker 8: was in the original bill the House pass but that
- 24:10Speaker 8: got jettisoned by the White House. We did not add
- 24:14Speaker 8: work requirements for Medicaid that was in the original bill
- 24:17Speaker 8: the House pass, but that was not in this final bill.
- 24:20Speaker 8: We did not cut spending back significantly to get anywhere
- 24:25Speaker 8: approaching pre COVID levels. The first version of this bill
- 24:30Speaker 8: made a significant step that way.
- 24:31Speaker 2: This bill does not.
- 24:33Speaker 8: It accepts the explosion of federal spending that came from
- 24:37Speaker 8: COVID and it cooks it into the baseline. And so
- 24:40Speaker 8: there's a reason that Democrats are celebrating right now, which
- 24:45Speaker 8: is that they just got a Republican House and a
- 24:50Speaker 8: whole bunch of Republicans in the Senate to support the
- 24:54Speaker 8: vast majority of the Biden spending agenda.
- 24:57Speaker 1: We're obviously going to do a deep dive into verdict
- 25:00Speaker 1: with Ted Cruz. If you've never download a vertic with
- 25:02Speaker 1: Ted Cruz, do it, and we're going to have that
- 25:04Speaker 1: this morning for you out as well, so that you
- 25:07Speaker 1: can We're going to really go back walk you through
- 25:10Speaker 1: all this and even go into more things like the
- 25:12Speaker 1: irs in depth. Last question though on this for you, Senator,
- 25:17Speaker 1: and that is the mindset of this White House after this,
- 25:22Speaker 1: and people were very concerned that this was going to
- 25:25Speaker 1: turn into a default scenario.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Was that all just political posturing?
- 25:30Speaker 1: And when are we going to have to go through
- 25:31Speaker 1: this crap all over again, because I'm starting to get
- 25:34Speaker 1: a little fatigued. I think a lot of people are
- 25:35Speaker 1: that it's like, you know, Armageddon, that the sky has fallen,
- 25:39Speaker 1: chicken little every six months every year, when are we
- 25:42Speaker 1: going to do this charade again?
- 25:44Speaker 8: Well, look, Ben, that is by design. That is what
- 25:47Speaker 8: the White House wants. That's what leadership in both houses
- 25:51Speaker 8: want because when there's a crisis, when they say we're
- 25:53Speaker 8: about to default on the debt, that's how they get
- 25:57Speaker 8: the Democrats and a bunch of squishy Republicans to agree
- 26:01Speaker 8: to trillions more in spending. And they do it over
- 26:04Speaker 8: and over and over again. And I would say it's
- 26:06Speaker 8: like Lucy and Charlie Brown with the football, But it's
- 26:09Speaker 8: not even like that, because at this point, nobody doubts
- 26:14Speaker 8: they're going to pull the football out of the way.
- 26:16Speaker 8: We get the game at this point. But there are
- 26:18Speaker 8: a lot of Republicans who are perfectly happy with it.
- 26:20Speaker 8: They don't want to want to rock the boat. And
- 26:23Speaker 8: I will say too many of them are our content
- 26:27Speaker 8: to manage the decline of the republic. Look in twenty seventeen,
- 26:31Speaker 8: that was just five years ago. In twenty seventeen, the
- 26:36Speaker 8: national debt was twenty trillion dollars. Today in twenty twenty three,
- 26:43Speaker 8: it is thirty two trillion dollars. That is a massive increase.
- 26:49Speaker 2: And what did.
- 26:50Speaker 8: Congress do this week? Said thirty two trillion is not enough.
- 26:54Speaker 8: Let's go to thirty six trillion dollars. We are bankrupting
- 26:59Speaker 8: our kids and gids. And the game is to come
- 27:03Speaker 8: up to a cliff where they threaten. It alternates. Half
- 27:07Speaker 8: the time they threaten a default on the debt, half
- 27:10Speaker 8: the time they threaten a government shutdown, and it's one
- 27:12Speaker 8: after the other. We're going to have the government shutdown
- 27:14Speaker 8: fight the end of September, and it will always be
- 27:17Speaker 8: this crisis. If you don't agree to further bankrupt the country,
- 27:21Speaker 8: this terrible thing will happen in September.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Mark your calendar is what you're saying, because that's when
- 27:25Speaker 1: that is all going to happen again after summer.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Yep.
- 27:29Speaker 8: And I got to tell you when I was new
- 27:31Speaker 8: in the Senate, I was elected in twenty twelve, so
- 27:33Speaker 8: eleven years ago, when I was newly elected, that that
- 27:36Speaker 8: there was a game that I discovered that every six
- 27:38Speaker 8: months or year, the graybeards in the Senate would say,
- 27:41Speaker 8: whatever the fight was, they'd say, no, no, no, no,
- 27:44Speaker 8: you need to understand ted. You don't fight on funding
- 27:47Speaker 8: the government. You wait for the death ceiling. Then the
- 27:51Speaker 8: death ceiling would happen. They said, no, no, no, no,
- 27:53Speaker 8: you need to understand you don't fight on the death ceiling,
- 27:56Speaker 8: wait for funding the government. And it's like they have
- 27:59Speaker 8: the memory of hummingbirds. They don't remember six months ago
- 28:02Speaker 8: they said the opposite.
- 28:04Speaker 2: And they keep.
- 28:04Speaker 8: Playing that game over and over and over again. And
- 28:07Speaker 8: I will say one of the things that's changed is
- 28:10Speaker 8: the grassroots, I think has gotten a lot savvier. They
- 28:12Speaker 8: understand this game now that you don't get to thirty
- 28:16Speaker 8: two trillion dollars in debt without both parties energetically jumping
- 28:21Speaker 8: in the mud and rolling around with the pork.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's gonna be interesting to see what happens
- 28:27Speaker 1: in September. It's amazing how many of you guys that
- 28:29Speaker 1: listen to show that may not actually be listening to Verdict.
- 28:32Speaker 1: And I'm going to do a better job of having
