- 0:00Welcome back to the Apocalypse Will Be Podcasted,
- 0:02a podcast where we overanalyze every chapter
- 0:05of Dungeon Crawler Carl like it's a college thesis
- 0:07written during a nervous breakdown. We talk theories,
- 0:10character arcs, dungeon nonsense, and all the
- 0:12moments that made us laugh, panic, or just sit
- 0:14there staring at the wall for a while. We are
- 0:17a big feelings podcast, so expect plenty of emotional
- 0:20damage, character breakdowns, and way too much
- 0:23discussion about things that probably were not
- 0:25meant to be analyzed this hard. Sorry, Matt.
- 0:28This is a full spoilers podcast covering all
- 0:31released books, including the Pineapple Cabaret.
- 0:33So if you're not caught up, now's your chance
- 0:35to turn back. You've been warned. So before book
- 0:39eight came out, I feel like people asked me,
- 0:43what is the deal with Carl's wife more than anything
- 0:46else? And I would say, okay, there are two lines
- 0:51in book seven that references Carl's wife. Would
- 0:55you like me to repeat those lines for you? Or
- 0:57do you want to go into spoilers territory? And
- 0:59they'd be like, no, no, no spoilers. Well, I
- 1:03am happy to say that here we are in book eight.
- 1:07You will learn all about Princess Chandra that
- 1:10you would want to know. And she sucks. She does
- 1:13suck, much like the rest of the Naga. None of
- 1:16the Naga that we see in the entirety of this
- 1:18series are good or nice or pleasant to be around.
- 1:22No, and we try to go through chapters as things
- 1:26happen. But when I was writing an outline for
- 1:29this, I was like, it might be a lot easier to
- 1:32just write a section called Reasons Why Princess
- 1:36Tondra Sucks. Did you write that list? I didn't
- 1:40know. Oh. We will be going through as it happens.
- 1:42Okay. Yeah. All right. All right. So we're going
- 1:45to, every time that she sucks in this chapter,
- 1:47we will highlight that for you, the listeners.
- 1:52Yes, so this chapter starts out with, Hello,
- 1:56Donut, Princess Chandra, Esquire said, which
- 1:59is a great opening line of a chapter. I love
- 2:03the opening lines of some of the chapters throughout
- 2:06these books. My favorite opening sentence of
- 2:09any chapter in these books is in book eight,
- 2:12which is, Piranhas did indeed fly. Well, I like
- 2:16the parallels of... It's starting out Hello Donut
- 2:20when with book seven, we started out with Hello
- 2:23Crawlers. Welcome to Fraction Wars. Yes. The
- 2:28opening line of This Inevitable Ruin is fantastic.
- 2:32I wonder if we're going to get book nine opening
- 2:36with some version of Hello, comma, person, people.
- 2:40Hello, gods. Hello. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. Maybe. Maybe
- 2:46indeed. We find out that Princess Chandra is
- 2:51on a warship in Earth's orbit and it got badly
- 2:54damaged during the quick and bloody coup of the
- 2:57Naga people. And we find out that her uncle is
- 3:01now the Sultan Protectorate of the New Reformer
- 3:04or something equally inane. And this chapter,
- 3:09first half of this chapter is interesting because
- 3:10most of it is basically just like internal thoughts
- 3:13and monologue from Princess Chandra's perspective.
- 3:16There's also lots of info dumping. Lots of info
- 3:18dumping as well. And yeah, it's going to be a
- 3:21long time before all of the stuff with her people's
- 3:25change in system and government is going to be
- 3:27sorted out. And there is a note here that chaos
- 3:32is a ladder. Yeah, Chandra definitely is in the
- 3:36little finger school of thought. She definitely
- 3:38is. And yeah, she's basically like her entire
- 3:42motives throughout this chapter is just money.
- 3:46That's her motive. Well, and just this crazy
- 3:48sense of entitlement. And this chapter honestly
- 3:53made me think of Elon Musk a lot. And someone
- 3:56who was kind of born rich and born into a bunch
- 4:00of privilege, but it's not enough for them. And
- 4:03they think that they should be able to do better
- 4:06or that they deserve more. chandra talks many
- 4:11many times about how she deserves better and
- 4:15she never really clarifies why she deserves better
- 4:20i think just her whole deal is kind of she's
- 4:24mad that some of her relatives are richer than
- 4:27her and she thinks that she deserves more basically
- 4:30yeah and yeah like she just has this like entitlement
- 4:35and it's very interesting and Well, her goal
- 4:39is money, but her goal is also she does not like
- 4:43her people. She does not like their empire. And
- 4:46she wants to leave and move to the center system
- 4:50to get away from it all. Crazy how it seems like
- 4:53nobody wants to stay in the Naga system. Yeah,
- 4:55basically. But it's interesting because both
- 4:59her and Vinyada wanted to leave, but in opposite
- 5:02directions. So Princess Vinyada wanted her people
- 5:06to leave. like basically society as a whole and
- 5:11go to you know the frontier and start over from
- 5:14scratch and chandra wants to leave as well but
- 5:16she wants to go towards society and so it's just
- 5:20kind of like an interesting parallel there between
- 5:22the two of them yeah agreed but i think you see
- 5:24that kind of breakdown in real life a lot of
- 5:27the time um i'm definitely the city cousin to
- 5:29a lot of my country cousins and you know we live
- 5:33like pretty close to the heart of downtown atlanta
- 5:36But I just have so many relatives who are like
- 5:38already like pretty far out in suburbia who want
- 5:41to be like out in the real country. Yeah, it's
- 5:44it is definitely like you have people who grow
- 5:48up in a city and they're like, oh, I just want
- 5:50to get away from it all and like go and live
- 5:52in the country. And then you have people who
- 5:54grow up in the country and they find the small
- 5:57town life so suffocating because like everyone
- 5:59knows everyone and they find that suffocating.
- 6:02So they want to go to the big city to get away
- 6:04from that. You just have these like interesting
- 6:06parallels of wanting to get away from it, but
- 6:09in different ways. And it's very interesting.
- 6:11Just people, you know. So she became a lawyer.
- 6:15And I think that that's kind of where some of
- 6:17the sense of entitlement came from is that she
- 6:20feels that she did something with her life by
- 6:22going to law school. Whereas most of her relatives
- 6:26are just rich for doing nothing. And she wants
- 6:28that. I don't think anyone in royalty is like
- 6:31her relatives, maybe by like marriage. She's
- 6:34not related to Princess Vinyada or the royal
- 6:37family. And how is her uncle the sullen protector?
- 6:40Because of the coup. Okay, but like if they did
- 6:42a coup, they weren't like nobodies to begin with.
- 6:45Right, which is what's interesting because, and
- 6:47I have a note about that at some point in this
- 6:50outline that, you know, she's like, oh, Vinyada
- 6:52was just born into it and I had to work for everything.
- 6:55But like it is obvious that she was still born
- 6:58into a position of immense privilege. Yeah, and
- 7:00she just doesn't see that because she thinks
- 7:03that there should be no one beneath her. She
- 7:05thinks that she's the highest rung and she's
- 7:07just real mad about it. Basically. Yep, just
- 7:10real butthurt. Really whiny about it. Mm -hmm.
- 7:13She says that she doesn't care about titles and
- 7:16the idea that this rodent is a princess is a
- 7:20joke. Well, she has only been a princess for
- 7:23five minutes, so... Well, but she doesn't care
- 7:27about that at all. Not important. It's very clearly
- 7:30important. You get a lot of her internal thoughts
- 7:33towards Donut, and basically she just sees her
- 7:37as a rodent. It says, this creature wasn't even
- 7:41a true life form, but a barely sapient, invasive
- 7:44cyst that had artificially formed itself on a
- 7:47seeded planet. Yeah, you can fuck off with that.
- 7:50It says, no different than mold and more dangerous.
- 7:54And, boy, she just does not like cats. No, it
- 7:58seems very unnecessary how much she dislikes
- 8:00cats. Mm -hmm. I mean, she basically looks at
- 8:02Donut and sees, like, food. Oh, no. I mean, I
- 8:06imagine her people eat normal food, but, like,
- 8:10I also wonder if sometimes they're just, like,
- 8:12are they like snakes and they just, like, eat
- 8:14their food whole? Like, do they still do like
- 8:16normal snakes do, or do they, like, eat with
- 8:19cutlery? I mean, they have hands. This is far
- 8:21too down a rabbit hole for me to know how the
- 8:24Naga eat. I have no idea. You know, we learn
- 8:26a lot about their culture. We don't learn anything
- 8:28about their dining experience. I mean, if she
- 8:31was upset that she had dirty nails, I'm guessing
- 8:34that she has silverware. But this is weird even
- 8:37for us. There is a comment that she was looking
- 8:41at Donut or thinking about the voles from her
- 8:43planet that she thinks Donut looks like. And
- 8:44she got hungry. So anyways, moving on. So she's
- 8:49already. getting some of princess donuts money
- 8:53but she doesn't think she's getting enough well
- 8:55she's getting money from the donuts holes licensing
- 8:58fees and she's already getting some of that and
- 9:01that alone has already made all everything that
- 9:02she's done worth it and like the amounts of money
- 9:06that are involved here we don't know the specifics
- 9:09of but like it's just got to be ungodly amounts
- 9:12of money yeah it's a little frustrating to me
- 9:15that they don't name a number in here but i'm
- 9:17very pedantic like that Basically, what we're
- 9:21learning in this chapter from this internal monologue
- 9:24from Chandra is that she put herself into a position
- 9:28to become Donut's lawyer so that she could steal
- 9:32all of their money. Which is interesting because
- 9:34she says that her late husband died because he
- 9:37involved himself in machinations involving the
- 9:40courts and that got him dead. Doesn't that seem
- 9:45a little bit maybe like what she's doing right
- 9:47now? Maybe a little bit. And she's talking about
- 9:50how like people don't trust the Nagas and don't
- 9:54trust contracts that originated from the Naga
- 9:56sector and all that. And like, hmm, gee, I wonder
- 10:01why people don't trust the Nagas. Well, she is
- 10:04also being. racist towards the nullians which
- 10:08is what quasar is in this paragraph and well
- 10:11gee if you don't like people judging you based
- 10:14on what race you are maybe you shouldn't judge
- 10:16others based on their race yeah she says that
- 10:19sometimes people lump the nagas in with the nullians
- 10:21absurd yeah you know it's well no let's cover
- 10:25that later and yeah like she's being very racist
- 10:29uh towards donut towards quasar and there's a
- 10:34lot of racism Out in the big wide galaxy. It
- 10:38sure seems like it. I mean, we even have fish
- 10:40Nazis. Yep. Those fish Nazis. Princess Chandra
- 10:44also says that she wants to move to the center
- 10:48system because there are no political upheavals
- 10:52there. And I would not hold my breath on that.
- 10:55Yeah. I don't think that a lot of things are
- 10:59going to be going great in the center system
- 11:00for anyone coming soon. Basically, I don't think
- 11:03things will be going. very well anywhere maybe
- 11:06the frontier maybe vignetta was on to something
- 11:09yeah i mean i think she saw the writing in the
- 11:12stars so to speak and literally and wanted to
- 11:16get the fuck out because i i think that honestly
- 11:18she was smart i think that vignetta was smart
- 11:21because she was seeing everything that was going
- 11:23on with this crawl and was like yeah we need
- 11:24to get away because things are shit's going to
- 11:27go down and this comment that chandra makes about
- 11:31there being no political upheaval in the center
- 11:33system, I do find interesting because it seems
- 11:36like a lot of these big players, the orcs and
- 11:40the naga, like have their own empires that kind
- 11:42of operate outside of the center system. And
- 11:44like the center system is kind of supposed to
- 11:46be this place of neutralism, I guess. I don't
- 11:50know. It's interesting. Like we don't actually
- 11:52know much about the center system. It's just
- 11:55like supposed to be great, I guess. It's almost
- 11:58like heaven. Supposedly. Supposedly. Allegedly.
- 12:01So Rishi was Chandra's husband, and that is who
- 12:06Carl killed towards the end of Faction Wars.
- 12:09And that is what basically allowed her to claim
- 12:12widow's rights and claim Carl as her husband,
- 12:16as the murderer of her now dead husband, Rishi,
- 12:20which is just an interesting bit of Naga culture.
- 12:23And she did have to go to court and have that
- 12:26decided that she would be allowed to claim it.
- 12:28But basically the jury thought it would be funny
- 12:32to punish her by marrying her to Carl. They thought
- 12:35it would be funny to punish Carl. Oh, by marrying
- 12:37her. Yeah, by becoming her husband. I think it
- 12:40was a little bit both ways. Yeah, maybe. It went
- 12:43to public jury and the public jury was like,
- 12:46haha, wouldn't it be so funny? And that's how
- 12:49it happened. Yeah, I guess the same as the fan
- 12:52boxes, but it's a little concerning that juries
- 12:56are working the same way. prize that Carl gets
- 13:01is also all of the holdings of her late husband
- 13:05and so that's all the shit that gets teleported
- 13:09into their personal space a few chapters from
- 13:12now the Naga culture is weird Naga culture is
- 13:17very weird but there are a couple of different
- 13:19factors in play here which is one she becomes
- 13:22legally married to Carl but she also separately
- 13:26manages to get to be Donut's lawyer because she
- 13:31doesn't get to be Donut's lawyer just because
- 13:32she's married to Carl. That was a separate action.
- 13:36And then also her uncle happened to do the overthrow
- 13:39coup at the same time. Right. So she definitely
- 13:42did have a couple of lucky events happen at the
- 13:44same time. Right. And she she acknowledges that
- 13:46that basically like he's the luckiest person
- 13:48ever. Yeah. Like through divine intervention,
- 13:51everything lined up all at once. And then she
- 13:53just like jumped at the opportunity to seize
- 13:56the moment and. Get a lot of money, basically.
- 13:59Yeah, well, she says that she's going to be one
- 14:01of the richest private citizens in the universe,
- 14:03if not the richest. And it's just crazy that
- 14:08that's the level of entitlement that she has.
- 14:12And once again, like, I really think this is
- 14:14Elon Musk coded personally. Maybe a bit. But
- 14:19one of the things that really cracked me up is
- 14:22she says. And it's all because of that fucking
- 14:25human in his underwear and his pet rodent. And
- 14:28I think that that's maybe a little bit meta.
- 14:31Because I think that Matt Deniman's life has
- 14:34changed pretty dramatically over the last two
- 14:38years. And it is all because of some dude in
- 14:40his underwear and that cat. And that cat. Yeah.
- 14:44I don't think that he had any expectation of
- 14:48how big this was going to become. And we were
- 14:51just watching. an interview it was actually really
- 14:54cool like this library did an interview like
- 14:57a talk with him for an hour that was live streamed
- 15:00uh yesterday the day before and it was it was
- 15:02really cool like we didn't learn like a whole
- 15:04lot of new stuff but it was really cool and just
- 15:06getting to like see him just talk and like be
- 15:10himself you can really tell that like when he
- 15:13started writing this and self -publishing like
- 15:15he had no expectation of where it was going to
- 15:18go publishing is a little bit like ironically
- 15:26bitcoin or playing the lottery of so many people
- 15:31write books and i probably have maybe three or
- 15:34four friends who are published offers who it's
- 15:38like barely even side income for them so you
- 15:43know i think that there's just this perception
- 15:45of like okay once you publish a book like you
- 15:49haven't made in life But that's 100 % not true.
- 15:53And it is like playing the lottery because you
- 15:56really can't guess what books are going to blow
- 15:58up. I mean, I think for most people doing content
- 16:01creation of whether it's music or writing or
- 16:05podcasting, you know, like most people don't
- 16:08get into it expecting to make money. I mean,
- 16:10I think like everyone kind of like hopes that
- 16:11in the back of their head. But I think for most
- 16:13people, it's passion. It would be nice to make
- 16:17money from this podcast, but this is something
- 16:18we did because it's something we're passionate
- 16:20about and it's fun most of the time. Because
- 16:23Chandra is now Carl's wife, she gets to be his
- 16:28signatory in most legal matters and she's gotten
- 16:31a lot of contracts going, but she's now going
- 16:34to go ahead and be racist towards Quasar again.
- 16:38And she says he did a surprisingly competent
- 16:41job in building up a lot of their legal... entities
- 16:44so that the princess posse can collect money
- 16:47and some of that is because Carl has some kind
- 16:50of basically legal status because he has those
- 16:53stock certificates which is how they were able
- 16:55to enter Faction Wars as a team in the first
- 16:58place. But Quasar actually kind of dropped the
- 17:01ball. Yeah I actually think several people dropped
- 17:05the ball here. I think Carl dropped the ball.
- 17:07I think Quasar dropped the ball. I think Donut
- 17:09dropped the ball. I think that it should have
- 17:13been clear early on that this was something that
- 17:18was possible. And I think that Quasar should
- 17:23have made one of his first acts to try to nail
- 17:27down having Donut as his client as well. And
- 17:30Nikki had a pretty good point, which that Nikki
- 17:33thinks that he didn't do it because people already
- 17:36see the Nullians is kind of untrustworthy. So
- 17:40he's very by the book. But even Donut herself
- 17:43says, I thought Quasar would be my lawyer. Yeah,
- 17:46well, he should have been her lawyer. And basically,
- 17:49so where he dropped the ball is that he didn't
- 17:52assert Carl as like the custodian over Donut
- 17:55and all of her earnings, because we learn here
- 17:58that Donut's species, cats, are not yet recognized
- 18:02as a legally competent racial entity by the syndicate.
- 18:05And therefore, all of her assets should have
- 18:07been placed under a conservatorship. Carl was
- 18:10obviously the best choice as a custodian. And
- 18:12now that Carl is her wife, he is also a true
- 18:16beneficiary. Which is interesting because I think
- 18:19that Perpetente is actually fine since he chose
- 18:23to be a Caprid. So I think he picked a racial
- 18:28entity. Well, he didn't pick, but... To be a
- 18:30Caprid? Yes, he did. He didn't choose what he
- 18:33turned into. I think Caprid was his race selection.
- 18:35His donut chose to remain a cat. Oh, yeah, maybe.
- 18:40So I think he could have chosen to remain a goat,
- 18:43but I think during race selection he chose to
- 18:44be a cavern. Oh, yeah. Okay, good point. Yeah,
- 18:47so I think that because he chose a race that
- 18:52was already recognized by the galaxy, he was
- 18:56fine. But they apparently didn't already have
- 18:58cats in the galaxy. I guess so. Yeah. Interesting.
- 19:03So they don't have a cat alien race out there?
- 19:07I guess not. I guess not. I'm super sad about
- 19:10that. Does that mean that Donut's the last cat
- 19:12ever? No, Ferdinand still exists. I mean, I think
- 19:14they have cats. They're just not like a sapient
- 19:17racial entity with like legal rights and such
- 19:20to like have money and buy property or whatever.
- 19:23I'm calling the end of the series that she has
- 19:25to hook up with Ferdinand or the cat species
- 19:27will end forever. Okay. But 10 predictions. There
- 19:31we go. On record. On record. But... Basically,
- 19:36what Chandra is doing here is placing Donut under
- 19:39a conservatorship. So she's basically Britney
- 19:42Spears -ing Donut. Oh, no. Yep, yep, yep. That's
- 19:46my takeaway here. Yeah, what was done to Britney
- 19:48Spears is, like, truly evil. And there's definitely
- 19:51some shades of that here. Definitely. Very strong
- 19:54shades of it here. And also, we learned that
- 19:56she bribed a judge so that she could become Donut's
- 19:59lawyer in the first place. Seems like those...
- 20:03reputations that the Nagas have as being untrustworthy
- 20:05and not trusting their contracts seems to be
- 20:08holding up, even though she seems to have a lot
- 20:11of hatred towards her people for... It's complicated.
- 20:15I mean, the fact that a judge was bribable is
- 20:17definitely a problem to begin with. All judges
- 20:19are bribable. But, yeah, her saying that she
- 20:23doesn't need a will, but she was going to do
- 20:24it anyways is definitely a big, huge, flashing
- 20:28red sign. Mm -hmm. It absolutely is. Okay, so
- 20:33we learned here that the Donut Holes don't have
- 20:36to share funds with the syndicate because they
- 20:39are an unofficial fan group. And that the Princess
- 20:43Palette eye makeup kit is the highest earning
- 20:45crawler merch ever. Ever. Which is just insane.
- 20:49And I will say that the whole makeup line definitely
- 20:52has some Kylie Jenner shades of gray as far as
- 20:57what it's based off of. And I heard. that they're
- 21:01going to actually be coming out with the Donut
- 21:03Princess Palette eye makeup kit? I think they
- 21:05are. I've seen some stuff about it online, but
- 21:08I haven't dug in to see if it was official or
- 21:11not. But we'll see. I'm sure we will be getting
- 21:13more. The amount of merch that is coming out
- 21:15is crazy. So much. Yeah, which is kind of conflicting
- 21:21for me because I'm anti -capitalist, which is
- 21:24why I like these books. These books are very
- 21:26anti -capitalist. There's also a lot of merch.
- 21:28There is. Merch is capitalism and I don't know
- 21:32what to do. It's crazy because like there is
- 21:34so much official merch that is coming out now
- 21:36that like six months ago it was like oh my god
- 21:39any merch get all the merch and now it's like
- 21:42there's so much even like not just fan merch
- 21:44but official merch that is out that it's like
- 21:45I can't have all of it because then I would just
- 21:49have too much Dungeon Crawler Carl stuff which
- 21:50I know there shouldn't be but my entire house
- 21:53cannot be Dungeon Crawler Carl. I'm sure some
- 21:55of your houses are, and that is great, and I
- 21:58love that for you. But that is not our house,
- 22:00unfortunately. Yeah, we like collecting art too
- 22:03much for that. And a lot of it is Dungeon Crawler
- 22:06Carl art. But anyways, moving on. So the Donut
- 22:10Holes fan group is interesting, though, and she
- 22:12is trying to take a lot of their money. She's
- 22:15basically trying to make the Donut Holes an official
- 22:18thing so that way she can take their money. And
- 22:21she basically says that... 38 % would go to Donut's
- 22:25conservatorship and then 60 % will go to the
- 22:28syndicate. And then that would leave the donut
- 22:30holes with just 2%, which she says is plenty
- 22:32for them to continue operating on. It's crazy
- 22:35because like, how much money is that? I mean,
- 22:38I think it's a lot. I think it's still a lot.
- 22:40And I think that she underestimates the scale
- 22:43of the popularity of Donut and the donut holes
- 22:46and then the princess posse. And, you know, Donut
- 22:49doesn't like the Donut Holes because they are
- 22:51unofficial. But I guess now they're going to
- 22:53be official. So will Donut be cool with the Donut
- 22:55Holes now? I think she's still going to not like
- 22:58the name. Yeah, I guess so. We don't get to see
- 23:01the Donut Holes books. No, Princess Sandra wants
- 23:04to see their books and so do I. And she says
- 23:09that they have more money than they should, which
- 23:11is very interesting. And I would love to know
- 23:14more about that. Well, I think it's just because
- 23:15there's a fucking lot of them. Like there's there's
- 23:19a lot of people. Donut has like several quintillion
- 23:23people that have her favorited. And even if 200
- 23:26quadrillion are giving money to either the donut
- 23:31holes or the princess posse, like that is just
- 23:34astounding amounts of money. I think that this
- 23:37is referencing that Donut and Zev are still doing
- 23:43some backdoor deals. and some underhanded stuff.
- 23:48And I think that's why they have more money than
- 23:50they should have is that it's related to some
- 23:53plan that they are cooking. Quite possibly. And
- 23:56we're definitely going to learn more about that
- 23:57in the next book. Probably. I hope so. Chandra
- 24:01says that if the donut holes do not agree to
- 24:04give 38 % to the conservatorship and she will
- 24:08have her two foreign associates call on the families
- 24:11of the founders of the unauthorized fan group
- 24:13and that it's. Always easy to get people to agree
- 24:16to things when one exerted pressure in the proper
- 24:18places, especially when they have small children.
- 24:21Yeah. So I think that that is everything you
- 24:25need to know about Princess Chandra Esquire is
- 24:29that she is willing to threaten small children
- 24:32to get what she wants. And it's despicable behavior
- 24:36and it's everything that Carl and Donut stand
- 24:40against. And. This chapter was so good. There's
- 24:45so much info dumping. There's so much character
- 24:48insight as to who Chandra is. There's information
- 24:51about what's going on outside the universe. This
- 24:54is the longest outline I've ever written. It
- 24:56was five pages. And we kind of have a lot of
- 25:00life stuff going on right now. So we are actually
- 25:02going to split this into two episodes. And we're
- 25:06going to call it here. And so the next episode
- 25:09is going to be. The actual conversation between
- 25:13Donut and Princess Chandra. Yeah. And it is so
- 25:17good. I can't wait to cover it. But unfortunately,
- 25:21I think we are going to have to drop down to
- 25:23biweekly. We don't want to dox exactly what it
- 25:27is that Nikki does. But I will just say that
- 25:30it is heavily stressful because of current events.
- 25:35The economy is crazy right now, y 'all. Yeah,
- 25:39and definitely some industries are infected more
- 25:42than others. And Nikki is in one of those industries.
- 25:45Yeah, they've just been working crazy hours.
- 25:47So because of that, we are going to need to drop
- 25:50down to bi -weekly. It kind of sucks. We've been
- 25:52talking about it for several weeks now, and I've
- 25:55been really opposed to going to, you know, airing
- 25:59episodes every other week. I've really wanted
- 26:01to stick with publishing weekly, but... Yeah,
- 26:04it's just gotten to the point where this has
- 26:05become unmanageable. And, you know, I've had
- 26:08some moments where I've just wanted to kind of
- 26:09stop altogether. And I've even been like, if
- 26:12we're going to just go every other week, then
- 26:13we should just completely stop. And it's like,
- 26:15well, is it better to deeply or completely stop?
- 26:18I think it's better to be weekly, I guess. Yeah,
- 26:20especially because, as alluded to earlier in
- 26:23this episode, we are making negative money on
- 26:25this. And for complicated reasons, like we're
- 26:28not really trying to make money off of this.
- 26:32We just want it to be fun. And like what we really
- 26:34love about it is deep diving into the chapters
- 26:37together and also getting to talk to other people
- 26:40about it. And we can still do that as a biweekly
- 26:43podcast. We definitely can. And a lot of podcasts
- 26:45are biweekly. Not very many actually are weekly.
- 26:48And the ones that are are like professional podcasters
- 26:51because it's a lot of work to do that. And they're
- 26:53doing it full time. We love you guys. This was
- 26:56a really hard decision for us to make. But we
- 26:58think it was the right decision for our household.
- 27:00Yeah. So, yeah, it's going to be biweekly from
- 27:03here on out. And, you know, hopefully that's
- 27:05still great for you guys. And thank you so much
- 27:09to everyone who listens. Our listener count has
- 27:12been growing a lot lately. And, you know, we
- 27:14really, really appreciate all the support and
- 27:16love that we've gotten. So I'm just going to
- 27:20keep babbling, I guess. See you soon. See you
- 27:22soon.
