- 0:00Speaker 1: My next guest. I usually give a lot of credits
- 0:01Speaker 1: about how good we're doing and what we're adding all
- 0:04Speaker 1: these things. But my next guest has been affected my
- 0:07Speaker 1: life for over twenty six years. Um. I say twenty
- 0:12Speaker 1: six years because Team marks his twenty six year music.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I remember when he released a single call While We Sing,
- 0:21Speaker 1: that changed the landscape of gospel music. His little story
- 0:24Speaker 1: about that. I remember Steve Harve and I were so
- 0:28Speaker 1: a lot of concert in Houston, Texas is at the
- 0:32Speaker 1: music hall see see the four thousand and I played
- 0:39Speaker 1: two songs. Steve said, why are you playing music? But
- 0:41Speaker 1: stought the show. I played, Uh, this song called While
- 0:45Speaker 1: We Sing? See so you playing gospel music before we
- 0:47Speaker 1: start a comedy show. As I do, I just I
- 0:50Speaker 1: gotta play this song. This is my song. This song
- 0:54Speaker 1: had affected me in a way that opened my eyes
- 0:57Speaker 1: because I was I was in transition with my life
- 1:00Speaker 1: and to hear this music, um, from this young man
- 1:03Speaker 1: out of the four worth of Dallas area, just changed
- 1:08Speaker 1: the landscape. His album remained at number one on Billboard
- 1:10Speaker 1: Top Gospel for four the two weeks he was the
- 1:13Speaker 1: first gospel music artists an album to sell over one
- 1:17Speaker 1: million units he's a gospel of musician, songwriter, choir director,
- 1:22Speaker 1: and arthur. He's known for leading urban contemporary gospel choirs
- 1:26Speaker 1: such as The Family, God's Property and One Nation Crew,
- 1:30Speaker 1: and it's won multiple awards, including fourteen Grammy Awards. Variety
- 1:35Speaker 1: dubbed him as the reigning king of urban Gospel. Please
- 1:39Speaker 1: welcome to money making conversations, my man, Kurt Franklin. What's
- 1:44Speaker 1: going on? Family? You know? The thing that I like
- 1:49Speaker 1: about you is that I figured like I love because
- 1:53Speaker 1: I've been able to watch you grow as a husband,
- 1:56Speaker 1: a friend, U uh, an ambassador, UH, spokesperson. I've seen
- 2:02Speaker 1: you uh because it SE's a lot of people don't
- 2:05Speaker 1: know that uh with Steve and I. Steve is the
- 2:07Speaker 1: host Celebration of Gospel and BT, I was writing produced it.
- 2:10Speaker 1: So for thirteen years I got that. I got the
- 2:14Speaker 1: joy watching Kurk Franklin the formal stage. Wow wow. And
- 2:20Speaker 1: in that thirteen years because that that show helped transform
- 2:25Speaker 1: the landscape of gospel music. At Steve Harvey, which who
- 2:29Speaker 1: wasn't wasn't a typical guy to be associated with gospel,
- 2:31Speaker 1: so he brought an audience that wouldn't normally come to
- 2:34Speaker 1: gospel and then you guys did your theme from a
- 2:38Speaker 1: uh it was like it was like the Grammys version
- 2:41Speaker 1: of UH or BT Awards. Yeah yeah, yeah, man, yeah man.
- 2:48Speaker 1: And you know, if it was transformed, if it changed
- 2:52Speaker 1: the trajectory of the genre, because what it did is
- 2:56Speaker 1: that they gave a visual introduction to a lot of
- 2:59Speaker 1: the people that uh, a lot of people the mainstream
- 3:02Speaker 1: have just heard the music, but they didn't really know
- 3:04Speaker 1: who the people were. And so to be able to
- 3:07Speaker 1: now have a platform where people can see who these
- 3:10Speaker 1: people are and can be connected to what is that
- 3:13Speaker 1: they're doing at a deeper level, that's a very powerful thing.
- 3:17Speaker 1: And so Celebration of Gospel was very transformative, and that
- 3:20Speaker 1: you were transformative, and that Steve was transformative and at it.
- 3:24Speaker 1: So you know, those those were the beginnings foundations of
- 3:29Speaker 1: a revolution that kind of happened within the genre. But
- 3:33Speaker 1: we can say that about Celebration of Gospel, but you
- 3:37Speaker 1: started it way back then with while we sing that money,
- 3:42Speaker 1: how did you? How did that telling the truth? Now?
- 3:46Speaker 1: Telling the truth? Because you know, you know Irban Irban
- 3:49Speaker 1: music was like you know, you had Osley Brothers O Jays,
- 3:54Speaker 1: and then then they started playing your song and they
- 3:57Speaker 1: started playing on a regular basis on these hot R
- 4:00Speaker 1: and B station. Your song wasn't regulated to just Sunday music.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Why do you think what's the timing or was it
- 4:08Speaker 1: just the words of that song? You know? If I
- 4:14Speaker 1: can be very candid and and and I know there's
- 4:17Speaker 1: no human science that can regulate this statement or can
- 4:23Speaker 1: you know safe to try to prove uh, this type
- 4:26Speaker 1: of theory. This is a theory that is seen with
- 4:29Speaker 1: invisible eye, and uh, and I trusted with invisible hand.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I believe it was just God's grace, you know. And
- 4:35Speaker 1: and I know it's hard to quantify that in in
- 4:38Speaker 1: a platform that is all about returns and dividends and
- 4:42Speaker 1: so when they were not able to always do that
- 4:44Speaker 1: when we talk about the supernatural, but I still believe
- 4:48Speaker 1: in it, and I believe that there's been a salvation
- 4:50Speaker 1: of my life. To think about it. Bro, you're talking
- 4:52Speaker 1: about somebody that does gospel music and been doing it
- 4:54Speaker 1: for twenty six years. How I've been doing it? And
- 4:57Speaker 1: I can't say you know that people said that the
- 5:00Speaker 1: dope singers, you know, and I am learning around bounce
- 5:04Speaker 1: around on stage, and you know that ain't number just
- 5:07Speaker 1: you know, got an amazing grace because they don't make
- 5:09Speaker 1: a little sin. It makes sense. It makes sense because
- 5:12Speaker 1: you make me, you make me emotional, you make me
- 5:15Speaker 1: uh feel good, you make you inspire me with your music.
- 5:19Speaker 1: You make me uh step back and take hold of
- 5:22Speaker 1: what is happening in my life with your music. Um,
- 5:26Speaker 1: just an amazing combination of styles. Uh. I've asked him
- 5:29Speaker 1: to appear on the TV shows like Sister Sister with Me,
- 5:33Speaker 1: so are asking the asked him Gold Tour with Me
- 5:36Speaker 1: with Steve Harvey, which was unprecedented, and uh, because that's
- 5:41Speaker 1: his brand and it was Steve Harvey's brand. And then uh,
- 5:45Speaker 1: I asked him to open up the Neighborhood Awards in
- 5:48Speaker 1: Las Vegas with me and he never said no, yes sir,
- 5:53Speaker 1: yes sir, And I never will I never will, you
- 5:57Speaker 1: know because because I remember I thinking, I went to
- 6:00Speaker 1: Gott said Kurt, I said, could you could you do
- 6:01Speaker 1: the Neighborhood Awards? A lot of people who noblehood. The
- 6:03Speaker 1: awards was an awards. Sohold that, Stephen how I did
- 6:06Speaker 1: in Las Vegas for sixteen years, which sold lot everywhere
- 6:09Speaker 1: to recognized that the stars on our community. It's an
- 6:12Speaker 1: amazing uh, production of quality and sixteen years, seven or
- 6:17Speaker 1: sixteen years and I said, I said, Kurt, could you
- 6:20Speaker 1: could you open up with melodies from Heaven? He said,
- 6:23Speaker 1: melodies from Heaven? I said, man, melodies from heaven. Rained
- 6:26Speaker 1: down on me, run down on me, take me in
- 6:31Speaker 1: your arms and hold me close. Yeah yeah, yeah yeah wow.
- 6:37Speaker 1: So man, I'm I'm just very grateful for those moments.
- 6:40Speaker 1: So those are really life subsiding moments for my career. Man.
- 6:43Speaker 1: And you know, I'm just very glad to be you know,
- 6:46Speaker 1: still around, and you know, even doing it with a
- 6:49Speaker 1: new music now. So's it's really a blessing. We know
- 6:52Speaker 1: it's a blessing because I tell you when he says
- 6:54Speaker 1: the word because he said family when he said my
- 6:56Speaker 1: name up from and uh, what's your family? And he
- 6:59Speaker 1: means us that when he says that. Because when we
- 7:01Speaker 1: used to do the celebration the gospel, you know, Steve
- 7:03Speaker 1: and I we've been our trailer and then Kurt come on,
- 7:05Speaker 1: knock on the door, he come on in. He said,
- 7:07Speaker 1: what's a family? It was like talking to a younger
- 7:10Speaker 1: brother because he's younger than me. And Steven said, Steve too,
- 7:14Speaker 1: and he said, I got some advice something, and we're
- 7:16Speaker 1: looking at him, you know, because because it's like it's
- 7:18Speaker 1: like it's like walking into a church, you know, because
- 7:21Speaker 1: we were we were very respectful of the environment that
- 7:23Speaker 1: we were walking into. When you went into the gospel arena,
- 7:27Speaker 1: that's not our arena. We're performers, were entertainers, and guess
- 7:31Speaker 1: what we cussed and so and so when we walked
- 7:38Speaker 1: in there, we had to remember that. And so when
- 7:41Speaker 1: he would come into our trailer, it all put up,
- 7:43Speaker 1: the calls put up there with that Kurt coming in,
- 7:45Speaker 1: Curt said, we all stop it. When y'all stop it,
- 7:48Speaker 1: stop it, and and and and he would ask for advice.
- 7:53Speaker 1: And I remember when he when they when they when
- 7:55Speaker 1: they had the opportunity to put together the the Tool
- 7:58Speaker 1: with him, Marvin Stapp and uh who's up there? Uh yeah,
- 8:05Speaker 1: with U with Oh my god, that was a great
- 8:11Speaker 1: tour they put together. You know. He came in out
- 8:13Speaker 1: trailer talking about that, what do you think? What do
- 8:15Speaker 1: you think about this? Songs? He would songs that he
- 8:18Speaker 1: would hit song. He asked us, what do you think
- 8:20Speaker 1: about this song? What do you think about this song?
- 8:22Speaker 1: And Steve had for music, and he knew that Steve
- 8:25Speaker 1: had an ear for music. I give him that he
- 8:27Speaker 1: hear a song and he knew words and and Kirk
- 8:30Speaker 1: respected that. But what we respected most was that he
- 8:33Speaker 1: is just a regular guy. And I don't think I
- 8:36Speaker 1: don't think that. I say that and all honestly because
- 8:40Speaker 1: being in the musical twenties few years, there's so many
- 8:42Speaker 1: trends and so many up his downs, and so many
- 8:44Speaker 1: people say your music, your genre is done, you won't
- 8:47Speaker 1: make it. And he's always now I wouldn't even say
- 8:50Speaker 1: the word evolved. He's just performed. He's just been Kurt Franklin.
- 8:53Speaker 1: And that's a special quality. Brother. Thank you. That's very
- 8:57Speaker 1: humbling that that that is her humbling coming from you.
- 9:00Speaker 1: And and I'm just glad to be here on the
- 9:03Speaker 1: show and letting people know that, you know, I'm still
- 9:06Speaker 1: trying to do it, still trying to make that difference,
- 9:08Speaker 1: and uh, you know, I'm still doing it even with
- 9:11Speaker 1: the new music you Loan Live Love album and Love Theory,
- 9:15Speaker 1: the new single, and you know, I'm just just very thankful,
- 9:19Speaker 1: that very thankful. Yes, we're gonna come back in this
- 9:22Speaker 1: next break and we're gonna talk about because Sunday's Best
- 9:25Speaker 1: is coming back. You know, I usually calling us, said
- 9:29Speaker 1: Kirk Man, you're so good boy boy when he holds
- 9:32Speaker 1: up Sunday best is like a natural for him. And
- 9:34Speaker 1: we're gonna talk about that. We're gonna talk about the Long,
- 9:37Speaker 1: Long Live Love tour. We're gonna talk about that new
- 9:39Speaker 1: single this out and at festival that he's doing every year,
- 9:42Speaker 1: just selling out. There's gentlemen, we're talking to the one
- 9:45Speaker 1: that only Kirk Franklin. He's family and I'm happy to
- 9:49Speaker 1: be recognized as part of his family. This was Sean McDonald.
- 9:54Speaker 1: You're listening to money making conversations. I'm interviewing Ker Franklin
- 9:59Speaker 1: um when it's six years marks his um introduction into us,
- 10:03Speaker 1: knowing who he is in this business. But how did
- 10:07Speaker 1: it all start for you? Kirk? Uh the music that
- 10:10Speaker 1: the whole choir directing, being inspired to believe that the
- 10:15Speaker 1: songs that you have should be heard by and listened
- 10:18Speaker 1: to by millions. How did it all start for you? Yeah,
- 10:21Speaker 1: well it is. I was adopted when I was four
- 10:25Speaker 1: by sixty four year old lady who who paid for
- 10:29Speaker 1: my piano lessons by recycling cans and newspapers. She didn't
- 10:33Speaker 1: have a lot of money, you know, and she apparently
- 10:35Speaker 1: saw something in me. It was just being led by
- 10:37Speaker 1: once again by that invisible hand, and so she died
- 10:42Speaker 1: before she heard it in my music ever recorded. But
- 10:45Speaker 1: I developed a very strong passion for the music at
- 10:48Speaker 1: a very young age. And uh and then one gift
- 10:52Speaker 1: that got in there early on was songwriting. And so
- 10:55Speaker 1: songwriting I really changed my life, changed my life book
- 10:59Speaker 1: because these were the only that God was given me
- 11:01Speaker 1: that God couldn't believe he would be kind enough to
- 11:04Speaker 1: let me borrow these kind of songs. And so that's
- 11:08Speaker 1: that that was really the foundation of my career. And
- 11:11Speaker 1: so it just opened up doors for me to work
- 11:14Speaker 1: with some man incredible people as a songwriter and then
- 11:17Speaker 1: as a producer and then as an arranger and uh
- 11:21Speaker 1: quide director or performer and or curator, and so you know,
- 11:25Speaker 1: I'm just just really humbled by just opportunities that I've
- 11:29Speaker 1: been able to do it in. And that's that's really
- 11:32Speaker 1: a journey, a humbling journey. And that's why I guess
- 11:35Speaker 1: when you say just a humble by it, when you
- 11:37Speaker 1: hear that that story and lets you know that there
- 11:40Speaker 1: was no silver spoon for you, there was no defined
- 11:43Speaker 1: opportunity that you walked on this path, there's going to
- 11:46Speaker 1: be success. There was all blessings and you were there
- 11:50Speaker 1: to receive the blessings and understand the blessings. Correct, yes, sir, Yes, sir.
- 11:55Speaker 1: And and that's all it's been. It's has been God's blessings,
- 11:58Speaker 1: ron blessings, and so that's all I've been able to have.
- 12:01Speaker 1: H That's all I know. And and it's been enough.
- 12:04Speaker 1: It's really been enough. Now. This song, Love Theory, debated
- 12:08Speaker 1: number one on Billboards Hot Gospel Song chart that has
- 12:11Speaker 1: been number one for twenty straight weeks. Song is number
- 12:14Speaker 1: four on Billboards Adult R and BC. He gonna cross over,
- 12:18Speaker 1: He's gonna cross over. Come on, come on, Kurt Kirk,
- 12:28Speaker 1: Kirk my brother two to six years and just deliver that.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Because you're still a young man. What's the future hole
- 12:36Speaker 1: for you? Because you know, in music, there's always a
- 12:39Speaker 1: point where people I've been there. I've seen the artists.
- 12:42Speaker 1: They tend to get locked into a beat, and then
- 12:44Speaker 1: the records, the the record industry of the fan basio.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I know that already. But you tend to you tend
- 12:51Speaker 1: to shift gears a lot in good ways and plus
- 12:54Speaker 1: a lot of people don't know he writes a lot
- 12:55Speaker 1: of other people's hits as well. We'll talking about that
- 12:58Speaker 1: inn because he got one of my favorite all time.
- 13:00Speaker 1: We talked about that last time. But let's talk about
- 13:02Speaker 1: love Theory. Uh you know, I'm just grateful that you know,
- 13:08Speaker 1: once again that the Logan and the Bordi songs, you
- 13:10Speaker 1: know love Theory as a song. You know, it's it's
- 13:13Speaker 1: funny because it came. I was playing with uh well,
- 13:17Speaker 1: my wife and my son in the living room, playing
- 13:19Speaker 1: actors silly, and when I saw them, I wanted to,
- 13:22Speaker 1: you know, just jumped on the piano. When I jumped
- 13:25Speaker 1: on the piano and started playing, I started playing this
- 13:28Speaker 1: groove and as I played the group, I was like,
- 13:29Speaker 1: wait a minute, that feels kind of good. And so
- 13:32Speaker 1: as I started playing that group and it started feeling right,
- 13:35Speaker 1: I was like, you know, this may be a little
- 13:37Speaker 1: some here. And so that's how I kind of transformed
- 13:41Speaker 1: that's had happened. Oh my goodness. And so so when
- 13:45Speaker 1: you when you when you feel it like that that
- 13:47Speaker 1: that you hopped on you, you was inspired and so
- 13:49Speaker 1: that so it just float out of here and they
- 13:51Speaker 1: made that that happened like that now there are other
- 13:53Speaker 1: singles on that album. How does how does the music
- 13:57Speaker 1: collaborations come about when you put together albums? Well, you know, um,
- 14:02Speaker 1: it kind of starts with with a major getting with God.
- 14:05Speaker 1: I'm just seeing if they're you know, if there's some
- 14:07Speaker 1: songs he can download. And then you know, and I
- 14:10Speaker 1: take a few months just to you know, just kind
- 14:13Speaker 1: of be at the piano and or you know, go
- 14:15Speaker 1: to the park or going to my old neighborhood and
- 14:18Speaker 1: just you know, and just right, you know, and and
- 14:21Speaker 1: I just write it spent a lot of time just
- 14:24Speaker 1: asking God to give me something significant to say, something
- 14:27Speaker 1: that can be transformative and not cliche is and and
- 14:30Speaker 1: not just you know, kind of running the meal. And uh,
- 14:33Speaker 1: you know, you know, there's just a lot of time
- 14:35Speaker 1: spent with that. And then even as I you know,
- 14:38Speaker 1: as as God give me the songs he can kind
- 14:40Speaker 1: of he also gives me direction of kinda if it's
- 14:43Speaker 1: going to be more of urban B program, but it's
- 14:46Speaker 1: gonna be live music, if it's gonna have strings or
- 14:48Speaker 1: horns like you know, And then I just kind of
- 14:50Speaker 1: begin to hear hear those things, you know, and and
- 14:54Speaker 1: and I said, by the time I get to the
- 14:56Speaker 1: band and kind of tell them what I'm hearing, or
- 14:58Speaker 1: if had a couple of great guys take cop douce
- 15:00Speaker 1: with me, you know, I tell them that I'm here,
- 15:02Speaker 1: and you know, you know, you know that this song
- 15:06Speaker 1: as drum program and then you know, you know, uh,
- 15:10Speaker 1: they may work on some beats and and kind of
- 15:12Speaker 1: you know, you know, and we may tweet the beats,
- 15:15Speaker 1: you know, because I got some really beat makers around
- 15:17Speaker 1: me and programmers and and so you know, just kind
- 15:19Speaker 1: of starts with that. It kind of goes from there.
- 15:21Speaker 1: And and then I and so like what I do
- 15:25Speaker 1: is that demo all the songs before we start production.
- 15:28Speaker 1: So what I do, I said, then at the piano
- 15:30Speaker 1: with singers and our demo like the whole album out,
- 15:34Speaker 1: you know, like like I'll sit down with the singers
- 15:37Speaker 1: and and in the in the studio and I will
- 15:40Speaker 1: lay down every song. So by the time we start
- 15:43Speaker 1: putting beats and sounds around them, all they have to
- 15:46Speaker 1: do is just continue to keep building on the demo
- 15:48Speaker 1: that I've laid down. And so, uh, you know, it's
- 15:51Speaker 1: a feel good process. It feels really good like that.
- 15:54Speaker 1: And and you know, just because sometimes a good beat
- 15:58Speaker 1: you know, or sometimes you try to use a B
- 16:00Speaker 1: to cover up a bad song. So you don't want
- 16:04Speaker 1: to trap the pen on the production to try to
- 16:06Speaker 1: make the song better. You know, you want the song
- 16:08Speaker 1: to be good on the song wow. Now, the ninth
- 16:11Speaker 1: season of the hit music competition show Sunday's Best or
- 16:15Speaker 1: Sunday Best comes back on BT June and the host
- 16:18Speaker 1: is the one and only Kurk Frank. They asked you
- 16:21Speaker 1: to come back. Why did you come back and host
- 16:23Speaker 1: Sunday Best. Well, you know, I've been in talks with
- 16:27Speaker 1: them over the last year year, so you know, it's
- 16:31Speaker 1: it was definitely a a you know, this conversation that
- 16:34Speaker 1: was ongoing for for about the last year or so.
- 16:37Speaker 1: You know, like like I never lost contact with with BT.
- 16:40Speaker 1: You know, they they were going through their transitions. You know,
- 16:43Speaker 1: there was something that they went through as a company,
- 16:46Speaker 1: and so you know, um, you know, sometimes you gotta
- 16:51Speaker 1: have the right people in the room, and of course
- 16:53Speaker 1: that you know that very well. You know that you
- 16:55Speaker 1: can have the right idea but the wrong people in
- 16:57Speaker 1: the room, you know, or you're gonna have the right
- 16:59Speaker 1: people in room and have the wrong idea. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 17:04Speaker 1: So it kind of goes both ways, and so uh,
- 17:07Speaker 1: you know, God and his sovereign timing you know, made
- 17:10Speaker 1: it where you know, it just worked out at the
- 17:12Speaker 1: right time. And so yeah, new new production, new production company,
- 17:17Speaker 1: knew uh level that. I think that people are going
- 17:20Speaker 1: to be very, very very excited about. I think people
- 17:23Speaker 1: are going to be extremely sad about this new season. Okay,
- 17:25Speaker 1: they have judges on the show. Are the judges knew?
- 17:27Speaker 1: Or who are the judges this year? Um? The new
- 17:30Speaker 1: judges are gonna be Kelly Price, the incredible Kelly Price, MARKA. Campbell,
- 17:35Speaker 1: and now this young buck named Jonathan McReynolds, who's a
- 17:38Speaker 1: new face in dust to music and he's a beast.
- 17:40Speaker 1: I love that. I love that. I love that line up.
- 17:42Speaker 1: But first of all, I love the fact that got
- 17:43Speaker 1: Kelly Price because it brings again, like with Steve, it
- 17:46Speaker 1: brings up another audience to you. You know, you're not
- 17:50Speaker 1: you're not in the pocket of the same voices. That's
- 17:52Speaker 1: pretty hot. That's pretty hot. Now your tour now you
- 17:57Speaker 1: go ahead. Now your tour will long live not The
- 18:00Speaker 1: tours are presently on tour right now and they started
- 18:03Speaker 1: as they started July. Level, that's the start day from
- 18:05Speaker 1: the tour it starts. Let man, it's gonna be an
- 18:08Speaker 1: incredible tour man, And I'm and I'm giving people all
- 18:10Speaker 1: the music. I'm giving them the old music music. So
- 18:12Speaker 1: when they come, they're gonna get the s Kurl Kirk Franklin.
- 18:17Speaker 1: They're gonna get the pros colors Kirk Franklin, not Kirk Franklin.
- 18:22Speaker 1: And then they're gonna get the Kirk. They got his
- 18:24Speaker 1: teeth thinks with a visilne Kirk Franklin. So so I
- 18:28Speaker 1: can do. I smile, So you know it's gonna be
- 18:30Speaker 1: all see what are you talking about? You need to
- 18:32Speaker 1: go Google. I smiled the video and that's what you're
- 18:36Speaker 1: talking about right there. I smiled because that's that That
- 18:39Speaker 1: video was important for us because you know, he came
- 18:41Speaker 1: to us and said, I'm doing this video with Shaun
- 18:43Speaker 1: shooting in the Atlanta Man, and and we were running
- 18:46Speaker 1: ideas because a lot of things about the relationship that
- 18:48Speaker 1: I have with Kirker's that we would do celebration of
- 18:51Speaker 1: gospel and then we go go all go eatther Cape
- 18:54Speaker 1: Mandolini late at night by twelve thirty one o'clock in
- 18:57Speaker 1: the morning. You don't tell them truth and we were
- 19:00Speaker 1: just sitting the back and the enrollment man and uh
- 19:03Speaker 1: and just listened to his brilliance. You know, one of
- 19:05Speaker 1: the all time, one of the one of I love
- 19:07Speaker 1: his catalog anyway, but imagine me. And I asked him
- 19:11Speaker 1: how he came up there. He just because that's all
- 19:13Speaker 1: that's you playing at piano. And he opened up that.
- 19:17Speaker 1: He opened up one of the celebrations of Gospels playing
- 19:20Speaker 1: that song. And it was so inspiring to me to
- 19:23Speaker 1: hear your ability to be able to articulate. So when
- 19:25Speaker 1: you're talking about jumping on the piano after sending your
- 19:28Speaker 1: family play around, I understand where that came from. Because
- 19:30Speaker 1: that piano is magical to you. Man, I'm very grateful,
- 19:35Speaker 1: I really am. And I think and I think God
- 19:38Speaker 1: forgirt you preparing for them pianos. Now before I go,
- 19:42Speaker 1: I know you got the festival every year. Tell us,
- 19:44Speaker 1: tell us what what is the future of their festival? Yeah, man,
- 19:47Speaker 1: you know um genre has a music festival, you know,
- 19:51Speaker 1: you know, like this coach and you know that. You know,
- 19:54Speaker 1: there's all these other music festivals, but gospel music that
- 19:58Speaker 1: had its own music festival. And now and so now
- 20:01Speaker 1: you know we are we Uh, we we have this
- 20:04Speaker 1: ex set of music festival that allows us to be
- 20:06Speaker 1: able to showcase the genre, and I want to build
