- 2:11Speaker 9: good is God?
- 2:12Speaker 2: Huh? Think about it?
- 2:13Speaker 9: Just take a slight inventory of your own life and
- 2:16Speaker 9: say it to yourself when you get through, how good
- 2:18Speaker 9: is God? Think of all the small things all because
- 2:22Speaker 9: that's him. You breathing, that's him. You still here, that's him.
- 2:27Speaker 9: You got another chance?
- 2:29Speaker 2: That's him. You ain't out of here. That's him.
- 2:33Speaker 9: Got any measure of health, that's him. You think it's
- 2:36Speaker 9: more to it than it really is than it already
- 2:38Speaker 9: showed up to be. That's him.
- 2:41Speaker 2: All of that. You got, any dreams and aspirations you
- 2:44Speaker 2: dream of other things.
- 2:45Speaker 9: That's him. All that, that's him, that's him. Him, clothes
- 2:49Speaker 9: you got, that's him. Every time you eat. That's why
- 2:52Speaker 9: they had this thing called you say your grace. That's him. See,
- 2:55Speaker 9: that's him, man, that's him. It's amazing when you take
- 2:58Speaker 9: a small inventory how you find out how big God
- 3:01Speaker 9: really is in your life. Now, the more you turn
- 3:04Speaker 9: yourself over to him, the bigger he can be for you. See,
- 3:07Speaker 9: he'll only be as big as you let him. It's
- 3:10Speaker 9: one thing about God. Now, he's a gentleman. He can
- 3:13Speaker 9: make you do anything. You know, you get too big
- 3:17Speaker 9: for him, you know you you lose your humbleness. He
- 3:21Speaker 9: can humble you.
- 3:22Speaker 4: Now.
- 3:23Speaker 9: God created man with the power of choice. We're the
- 3:29Speaker 9: only creature he created that. He gave us the total
- 3:32Speaker 9: power of choice when we mate, who we mate with.
- 3:35Speaker 9: You know everything, all of it. Man, it's a choice
- 3:40Speaker 9: what we want to be, how much we want to make,
- 3:42Speaker 9: where we want to live, with climate we want to
- 3:44Speaker 9: live in. We can live in cold climates, hot climates.
- 3:47Speaker 9: You know, we speak different languages. You can go learn
- 3:50Speaker 9: another language. A bear can't do nothing but be a bear.
- 3:56Speaker 9: Is he can't go learn how to be a fox.
- 4:00Speaker 9: He can't go learn how to be an otter.
- 4:02Speaker 2: He just can't.
- 4:03Speaker 9: And ostrich is an ostrich man he can't come out
- 4:06Speaker 9: here and fight like a lion. A lion is a lion.
- 4:09Speaker 9: A lion eat meat. He can't eat vegetables. I don't
- 4:12Speaker 9: care how much meat ain't around. He'll lay down and
- 4:15Speaker 9: pull up out of here and die because he can't
- 4:17Speaker 9: eat grass.
- 4:19Speaker 2: He just a lion.
- 4:20Speaker 4: Man.
- 4:21Speaker 2: You understand this that God gave us.
- 4:24Speaker 9: We are the one creature he created that has total
- 4:27Speaker 9: power of choice. You can make every decision in your life.
- 4:30Speaker 9: What kind of watch you like? That's the one you
- 4:33Speaker 9: can buy. You want to live in Switzerland, go ahead.
- 4:38Speaker 9: You don't like Switzerland, you can move to Miami. You
- 4:42Speaker 9: want to live your life for crime, go ahead.
- 4:45Speaker 2: That's you. He gave you the power choice you want
- 4:48Speaker 2: to do?
- 4:48Speaker 4: Right?
- 4:48Speaker 2: Come on, So now look at this thing. We are
- 4:54Speaker 2: all the results of a series of decis visions that
- 5:01Speaker 2: we have made.
- 5:02Speaker 9: If we could just identify that the problem is us,
- 5:08Speaker 9: we could began the solution.
- 5:10Speaker 2: See that's the problem, y'all, it's us. It's what we do.
- 5:15Speaker 9: I threw my life down the hill. I can't tell
- 5:19Speaker 9: you how many years based on some decisions that I
- 5:22Speaker 9: was making. Now I can justify my decision where I
- 5:25Speaker 9: wasn't happy and I was doing this and I was
- 5:27Speaker 9: in miserying y'all. On name, ain't yes to you? When
- 5:29Speaker 9: you get through you made the decisions though, And you
- 5:33Speaker 9: can look at this anyway you want to, y'all. But
- 5:35Speaker 9: at the end of the day, I'm just talking to
- 5:36Speaker 9: people that's really really wanting to improve their position in life.
- 5:41Speaker 2: And how do you do that? You got to have
- 5:44Speaker 2: a solution. How do you come up with a solution?
- 5:47Speaker 2: You got to identify the problem to even began to
- 5:52Speaker 2: solve it. But if the problem ain't ever you, how
- 5:58Speaker 2: you gonna solve something that? Ain't you? See?
- 6:03Speaker 9: Okay, let me look at this one. If somebody say,
- 6:08Speaker 9: like I got a child of mine, man, I just
- 6:10Speaker 9: do right here. Man, I don't even wanna get into
- 6:13Speaker 9: it this morning. Boy, I'm struggling with this this boy.
- 6:16Speaker 9: But man, you go to people, you ask them why
- 6:18Speaker 9: they do so I just did. I just wasn't taking
- 6:22Speaker 9: care of business? Why I just didn't take care of business?
- 6:26Speaker 2: Boy? Do you understand that your life is gonna be
- 6:30Speaker 2: filled with you got to take care of business? So
- 6:32Speaker 2: when you're gonna start, you know what I mean?
- 6:35Speaker 3: You can't.
- 6:36Speaker 2: You can't. You can't go through life blame it everybody.
- 6:39Speaker 2: It's got to be you. See, you can fix you.
- 6:42Speaker 2: You can't fix.
- 6:43Speaker 9: Nobody else if you keep getting married and the marriages
- 6:46Speaker 9: don't work. Hello, Hello, Hello, Could it be you? So
- 6:52Speaker 9: I founally had to sit down and just make that decision. Ain'
- 6:55Speaker 9: don't need to be coming on the radio talking about
- 6:57Speaker 9: nobody else and what they did to me, and y'all
- 6:59Speaker 9: just don't no, no, no, man, what about the part
- 7:02Speaker 9: you played in it? Cause see, if you got a
- 7:04Speaker 9: good marriage, you got a part to play in that.
- 7:07Speaker 9: If you got a bad one, you got a part
- 7:09Speaker 9: to play in that. Even if it just get down
- 7:13Speaker 9: to you the one pick them, how about that? Mister, mister,
- 7:16Speaker 9: I made a decision. The problem is usually within yourself.
- 7:21Speaker 9: Do you know that's the quickest and easy way to
- 7:23Speaker 9: fix your life. That way, you ain't got to check
- 7:26Speaker 9: with nobody. Here's the beauty of going on and admitting
- 7:29Speaker 9: that it's you. You don't have to check or clear
- 7:33Speaker 9: it with nobody to start the repair process. You don't
- 7:37Speaker 9: need anybody's permission. You ain't got to put it before
- 7:40Speaker 9: the review board to see if it will pass. It
- 7:42Speaker 9: ain't got to go through Congress. You ain't got to
- 7:45Speaker 9: hope that your local politician get their hands on it
- 7:48Speaker 9: and make a phone call for you. You ain't got
- 7:50Speaker 9: to ask any counselors to come.
- 7:51Speaker 2: In and sit with you.
- 7:52Speaker 9: You don't have to check in the rehair. All you
- 7:54Speaker 9: got to do is decide the problem is me. I'm
- 7:58Speaker 9: gonna start change. Identify the problem, and start with the
- 8:06Speaker 9: part that you can own up to. Once you identify
- 8:13Speaker 9: the problem, you can start planning on how to fix
- 8:16Speaker 9: this or how to get to accomplishing something. But remember
- 8:19Speaker 9: this plan and is important. If you fail to plan,
- 8:24Speaker 9: then please plan to fail. If you don't know how
- 8:28Speaker 9: to make a plan, let's just start with the basics.
- 8:32Speaker 9: Just make a list of what you want. Make this
- 8:36Speaker 9: list and then go to God in prayer with an
- 8:40Speaker 9: open mind and open your mind up to all the
- 8:46Speaker 9: clean opportunities that are available. Hear why a lot of
- 8:50Speaker 9: people won't succeed because certain opportunities come along you don't
- 8:53Speaker 9: want to do them.
- 8:55Speaker 2: That kills me.
- 8:55Speaker 9: Man, when I hear here, I ain't doing that. I
- 8:58Speaker 9: know young comedians that come to me all the time
- 9:00Speaker 9: talking about Man. What you and I say, Man, just
- 9:02Speaker 9: take every gig you can, no matter what it pay. Well,
- 9:06Speaker 9: listen to me, son, you can go make that money
- 9:10Speaker 9: that they pay, or you can make the decision to
- 9:13Speaker 9: sit at home and make no money. It's a comedy,
- 9:17Speaker 9: hard business. They ain't paying but one hundred dollars. You
- 9:19Speaker 9: gotta drive fifty miles. But if you drive fifty miles
- 9:23Speaker 9: and you make the hundred and you stand on that
- 9:25Speaker 9: stage for thirty minutes, you are now thirty minutes better
- 9:29Speaker 9: than you was the last time you went on stage. Oh, man,
- 9:34Speaker 9: they ain't man, they don't pay me. I ain't coming.
- 9:36Speaker 9: You ain't finna be a comedian, man, not not like
- 9:39Speaker 9: this here. A lot of people just don't want to
- 9:42Speaker 9: do what's necessary to do. So when the opportunity presents
- 9:46Speaker 9: itself and you open up your mind to it, man,
- 9:48Speaker 9: then get ready to go on and do it. Man,
- 9:51Speaker 9: identify your problem today. Start with the part dash.
- 9:56Speaker 10: You you're listening.
- 10:00Speaker 2: The show, Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, it is time.
- 10:07Speaker 2: It's moaning time.
- 10:09Speaker 6: Come on.
- 10:10Speaker 2: No, we gather today.
- 10:16Speaker 9: Six o'clock or so with uh intentions of our lightening
- 10:27Speaker 9: intentions of coma daril comness. We come to you with
- 10:35Speaker 9: the intention of informatization. We are here in the moaning time.
- 10:43Speaker 9: I'm right away. In spite of the crisis that's going
- 10:48Speaker 9: on around the world, we that are here are blessed
- 10:53Speaker 9: and highly favored.
- 10:55Speaker 5: Right walking, that walk, yes, talking that talk, yeah, and
- 11:04Speaker 5: jaywalking when I walk.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Sermons ain't got to have no meaning. They just got to.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Soiund like it's one.
- 11:17Speaker 9: I say, look at here, welcome to the the badest
- 11:23Speaker 9: morning short in the lad I know there's others but
- 11:30Speaker 9: them his imitations. I know folks with radio shows, but
- 11:36Speaker 9: they ain't got us on it. I know of some
- 11:41Speaker 9: shows I think is pretty good. My damn self. I
- 11:47Speaker 9: had a radio and I had turned to one station.
- 11:52Speaker 9: Come on, I would pick the same one you just picked.
- 11:59Speaker 9: I know you picked it because I'm on it and
- 12:03Speaker 9: you hear me. Like I said, other choices, But why
- 12:09Speaker 9: make the wrong choice every day? That's right, knowing that
- 12:15Speaker 9: we are here and they are there, ladies and gentlemen.
- 12:20Speaker 9: Let me introduce him to you. A man with a
- 12:24Speaker 9: large note, great big old lips, m H bring yourself out.
- 12:31Speaker 9: Face has grown in with over the years, mustache world famous.
- 12:42Speaker 9: That's got more more credits, uh than than Equifax.
- 12:54Speaker 4: He he.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Has told more jokes.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Yeah, that need.
- 13:00Speaker 9: These other radio shows have attempted. Yes, ain't nobody own
- 13:06Speaker 9: any morning more funny than me. And when I come back,
- 13:11Speaker 9: I'm gonna introduce me to you and the rest of
- 13:14Speaker 9: the morning crew.
- 13:15Speaker 4: There are he.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Just standing by.
- 13:20Speaker 9: But I done took off down the road of foolishness,
- 13:23Speaker 9: and I didn't know how to get off. Sometime when
- 13:27Speaker 9: you go down the road of foolishness, it ain't no exit.
- 13:30Speaker 9: So we own the road and I'll be back at
- 13:34Speaker 9: the bottom of the hour. Any name for the Steve

- 53:21Speaker 1: Stephen Shirley, I'm going to jump right on end. I
- 53:25Speaker 1: cheated on my wife two years ago with a woman
- 53:29Speaker 1: that constantly threatened to call my wife when she didn't
- 53:32Speaker 1: get what she wanted. This one on two years until
- 53:36Speaker 1: I ran out of money and decided to end the affair.
- 53:40Speaker 1: This woman called my wife a few days later. I
- 53:43Speaker 1: was out cutting the yard when my wife when when
- 53:46Speaker 1: she called my house and my wife answered. I walked
- 53:49Speaker 1: in and my wife was on the speaker phone listening
- 53:52Speaker 1: to my side chicks, with my son sitting there listening
- 53:56Speaker 1: to everything. He was twelve years old at the time,
- 54:00Speaker 1: and I made him leave the room, but he had
- 54:02Speaker 1: already heard enough.
- 54:04Speaker 15: My relationship with him was ruined after that day.
- 54:08Speaker 1: My home life was terrible too, so I moved out
- 54:11Speaker 1: after my wife served me with divorce papers. We are
- 54:15Speaker 1: in the process of discussing who will get custody of
- 54:18Speaker 1: our son, and I haven't seen him in months. His
- 54:22Speaker 1: mother's brainwatched him to think I'm a no good cheater
- 54:25Speaker 1: and liar. She has him in the middle of grown
- 54:28Speaker 1: folks business, and when we talk, she's always on speakerphone
- 54:32Speaker 1: so my son can hear all of the conversation. She
- 54:35Speaker 1: sends me text messages with our son on the text thread,
- 54:38Speaker 1: and she's usually calling me names and cursing me out.
- 54:42Speaker 1: She's brought up all kinds of things that have happened
- 54:45Speaker 1: in our marriage, and my son.
- 54:46Speaker 15: Doesn't need to know all of that.
- 54:48Speaker 1: I'm dying to see him, so I sent him a
- 54:51Speaker 1: text asking him to have dinner with me one day soon.
- 54:55Speaker 1: He sent me the most disrespectful reply a child could
- 55:00Speaker 1: send a father.
- 55:01Speaker 15: I wanted to go snatch him up real quick, but
- 55:04Speaker 15: I can't.
- 55:05Speaker 1: This is not the boy I raised. He needs his
- 55:08Speaker 1: father back in his life. How can I reverse all
- 55:11Speaker 1: of this brainwashing? Please advise? Well, I don't know if
- 55:15Speaker 1: you're gonna be able to do that. And I have
- 55:17Speaker 1: to say this, Everything in this letter is just terrible.
- 55:20Speaker 10: Everything in this letter, I.
- 55:21Speaker 1: Mean, you cheat it for the lamest excuse ever, I mean,
- 55:26Speaker 1: in the history of cheating.
- 55:28Speaker 15: Just say you cheated or wanted to cheat.
- 55:30Speaker 1: Cheating because this woman was gonna call your wife if
- 55:33Speaker 1: you didn't cheat with her is about the stupidest thing ever,
- 55:36Speaker 1: I mean. And then you cheated with her for two years.
- 55:41Speaker 1: She scared her for two years. Okay, that's just dumb.
- 55:46Speaker 1: You know you should have told your wife about the
- 55:49Speaker 1: threats when they started, and then call the woman's bluff
- 55:52Speaker 1: and not cheat it since she ended up calling your
- 55:54Speaker 1: wife anyway.
- 55:56Speaker 4: You know.
- 55:57Speaker 1: I also, this is what I don't hear in this.
- 56:00Speaker 1: I don't hear any remorse from you. I hear no
- 56:03Speaker 1: remorse from you about what she did. I mean, did
- 56:05Speaker 1: you try to fix it, did you try to apologize?
- 56:08Speaker 1: Did you try anything anything?
- 56:11Speaker 4: I mean?
- 56:11Speaker 1: And of course your wife wanted to hurt you, and
- 56:14Speaker 1: she knows your son is a way to get at you.
- 56:17Speaker 1: I mean, what she did is beyond wrong. What she
- 56:20Speaker 1: did is beyond wrong. There's no way your son should
- 56:24Speaker 1: have been in the middle, as you say, grown folks business.
- 56:27Speaker 1: If she needed an ally, she could have talked to
- 56:29Speaker 1: another adult.
- 56:30Speaker 14: You know.
- 56:31Speaker 1: She tainted the boy now, made herself look like a victim,
- 56:35Speaker 1: and yeah, made you hate him, made your son hate
- 56:39Speaker 1: you and disrespect you. I'm not blaming your wife. I'm
- 56:42Speaker 1: not blaming her for anything. This is your fault.
- 56:46Speaker 10: This is you.
- 56:47Speaker 1: And of course your son doesn't want to see his
- 56:49Speaker 1: mom hurt and going through because of you. People get
- 56:53Speaker 1: divorced every day and parents do get joint custody of
- 56:56Speaker 1: a kid. So hopefully during the divorce. That'll work itself out.
- 57:00Speaker 1: But yeah, you, sir, created all of this because of
- 57:04Speaker 1: your cheating. Now the family's broken. But you got to
- 57:07Speaker 1: get to your son some kind of way. You gotta
- 57:10Speaker 1: apologize to him. You gotta do something. You got to
- 57:14Speaker 1: talk to your son and not say anything bad about
- 57:18Speaker 1: his mom like you tried.
- 57:20Speaker 15: To, you know, allude to in the letter.
- 57:22Speaker 1: None of that. I don't agree with anything she's done either.
- 57:25Speaker 1: And your son is already damaged by what she did,
- 57:28Speaker 1: you know, letting him hear everything.
- 57:30Speaker 15: So you got to get to a counselor.
- 57:32Speaker 1: You got to talk to him, a therapist, a pastor,
- 57:34Speaker 1: Jesus someone to heal this relationship. Hopefully, like I said,
- 57:38Speaker 1: the divorce. When you get that, when you get custody,
- 57:41Speaker 1: you know, he can begin to understand that you do
- 57:44Speaker 1: love him.
- 57:46Speaker 2: Steve.
- 57:47Speaker 9: See, I don't think this is a letter at all
- 57:52Speaker 9: about reconciliation. I don't think it is at all. And
- 57:56Speaker 9: I think the man came right on when he said,
- 58:00Speaker 9: and I'm gonna just jump right on it. I cheated
- 58:02Speaker 9: on my wife two years ago. He already noticed his fault.
- 58:07Speaker 10: He hit that.
- 58:09Speaker 2: I'm just saying, he know it.
- 58:11Speaker 9: This is his fault with a woman who constantly threatened
- 58:15Speaker 9: to call my wife when she didn't get what she wanted.
- 58:17Speaker 2: See, now that's not a threat. If you don't stay
- 58:20Speaker 2: with me, I'm gonna call your wife.
- 58:22Speaker 9: It could be anything she wanted, because he said, like
- 58:26Speaker 9: he was buying her stuff, getting her stuff, probably helping her,
- 58:30Speaker 9: you know, with the bills and all this hit. And
- 58:32Speaker 9: when she don't give something, she want her way or
- 58:35Speaker 9: him to come over at a certain time, then I'm
- 58:37Speaker 9: gonna threaten to call your wife. This went on for
- 58:39Speaker 9: two years, and this is the killer part, he says,
- 58:43Speaker 9: until I read out of money and decided to end
- 58:46Speaker 9: the affair. See, this affair was based around the money
- 58:51Speaker 9: he was giving the mistress. So when the mistress couldn't
- 58:55Speaker 9: get what, she won't and with threat out need this,
- 58:59Speaker 9: you need to buy me? That did shit threaten to
- 59:01Speaker 9: call the wife. He kept it going for two years.
- 59:04Speaker 9: He liked the little sideline stuff, but it was costing
- 59:07Speaker 9: him too much, so then he decided to end the affair.
- 59:11Speaker 1: What what should he didn't have to do any of this.
- 59:16Speaker 9: I'm just he was cheating with the woman. He was
- 59:19Speaker 9: buying her stuff. She wanted more when he didn't have
- 59:21Speaker 9: the money to give or wall. She threatened to call him.
- 59:24Speaker 9: He tried to keep it until he ran out of money.
- 59:26Speaker 2: All right, what is is that?
- 59:28Speaker 1: We'll come back with part two of your response. Girl
- 59:31Speaker 1: at twenty three minutes.
- 59:32Speaker 2: After you went straightened her letter and her out, come
- 59:35Speaker 2: on back.
- 59:36Speaker 15: You straightened him out.
- 59:37Speaker 2: He needs to send you out.
- 59:39Speaker 1: My ex wife made sure my son hates me is
- 59:42Speaker 1: the subject. We'll be back right after this.
- 59:44Speaker 10: You're listening Hardy Morning Show.
- 59:48Speaker 1: All right, Come on, Steve, Let's recap today's strawberry letter.
- 59:51Speaker 1: The subject my ex wife made my son hate me?
- 59:54Speaker 9: All right, man writes a letter that said he gonna
- 59:57Speaker 9: jump right on it. Cheated on his wife two years ago.
- 1:00:00Speaker 9: He admitted that he know he wrong with a woman
- 1:00:03Speaker 9: that constantly threatened to call my wife when she didn't
- 1:00:06Speaker 9: get what she wanted. That could be I want you
- 1:00:09Speaker 9: to come over now. That could be I want a
- 1:00:11Speaker 9: new dress. That could be I want you to fix
- 1:00:13Speaker 9: my car. That could be I need help with these bills.
- 1:00:16Speaker 9: It could be anything she wanted, but she would threaten
- 1:00:19Speaker 9: to call wife.
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:00:19Speaker 9: He tried to keep it up, and he said this
- 1:00:22Speaker 9: went on for two years until I ran out of money,
- 1:00:27Speaker 9: and I said, man, now, I got to end this
- 1:00:29Speaker 9: affair because that affair he was in, it might have
- 1:00:33Speaker 9: been sexual, but it was tied to money.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: Sugar.
- 1:00:36Speaker 9: Daddy ran out of sugar. He just daddy now, So
- 1:00:42Speaker 9: that's what happened. I was out cutting the yard when
- 1:00:44Speaker 9: she called my house and my wife answered.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: Walked in. Wife on the speaker phone listening to my side. Cheick,
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: he know he's wrong. My son was sitting there listening
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: to everything.
- 1:00:53Speaker 9: He was twelve years old at the time, and I
- 1:00:56Speaker 9: made him leave the room, but he had already heard
- 1:00:58Speaker 9: enough relationlationship when him was ruined. After that day, my
- 1:01:03Speaker 9: home life was terrible too, so I moved out after
- 1:01:07Speaker 9: my wife served me with divorce papers.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: So this isn't about a reconciliation. It's over. He caused it,
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: his fault. Bam. Here the problem.
- 1:01:16Speaker 9: We are in the process of discussion who will get
- 1:01:19Speaker 9: custody of our son?
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: Dog.
- 1:01:21Speaker 9: You not getting custody. You could get joint custody. You
- 1:01:27Speaker 9: know you might get knocked down to visitation, but you
- 1:01:30Speaker 9: not getting custody. You can stop this argument right now.
- 1:01:33Speaker 9: I haven't seen him in months. His mother has brainwashed
- 1:01:37Speaker 9: him to think I'm a no good cheetah and liar.
- 1:01:39Speaker 9: She has him in the middle of grown folks business,
- 1:01:41Speaker 9: and when we talk, she's always on speakerphone, so my
- 1:01:44Speaker 9: son can hear all of the conversation. Sureley and I
- 1:01:48Speaker 9: both agree she's wrong for this. I'm gonna tell you
- 1:01:51Speaker 9: at the end. Sends me text messages with our son
- 1:01:54Speaker 9: on the text thread. Oh she wrong, man, But I'm
- 1:01:58Speaker 9: gonna tell you why she's doing this too, calling your
- 1:02:01Speaker 9: names and cussing me out. She's brought up all kinds
- 1:02:03Speaker 9: of things that happened, and I marriage my son don't
- 1:02:05Speaker 9: need to know all that. I'm dying to see him.
- 1:02:07Speaker 9: So when I send him a text ask him to
- 1:02:09Speaker 9: have dinner with me one day soon, he sent me
- 1:02:12Speaker 9: the most disrespectful reply a child could send her father.
- 1:02:17Speaker 9: I want to go snatch him up real quick, but
- 1:02:19Speaker 9: I can't. This is not the boy I raised. He
- 1:02:22Speaker 9: needs his father back in his life. How can I
- 1:02:24Speaker 9: reverse all the brain washing? Please advise? Well, see, here's
- 1:02:28Speaker 9: a deal. She has accomplished what she wanted to do.
- 1:02:32Speaker 9: But here's the problem. She won, but he lost. Not
- 1:02:38Speaker 9: you have lost.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: Her son has lost because.
- 1:02:42Speaker 9: See, not only does she not have a husband. But
- 1:02:45Speaker 9: now she got her son thinking he ain't got a father,
- 1:02:49Speaker 9: And it don't have to be because here's my opinion
- 1:02:52Speaker 9: in this whole thing. When your husband doesn't prove to
- 1:02:58Speaker 9: be a great hub, it doesn't mean that he's not
- 1:03:03Speaker 9: a good father.
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: Those are two different roles.
- 1:03:09Speaker 9: Completely, And when I say that, I meaning that the
- 1:03:13Speaker 9: two roles can be separated and each can be performed
- 1:03:17Speaker 9: extremely well. You can be a great husband and never
- 1:03:21Speaker 9: have any children. You can be a great father, but
- 1:03:26Speaker 9: you don't necessarily make you a great husband. So the
- 1:03:30Speaker 9: man is not a great husband, got that, But that
- 1:03:33Speaker 9: don't mean he ain't a great father. But as a
- 1:03:37Speaker 9: scorn woman or man, tying the two together only hurts
- 1:03:42Speaker 9: the child, the childish crush. Oh, you whipping the fathers behind?
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: But do you know that? You know in the long
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: run that man is still a man no matter what
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: you say about him.
- 1:03:55Speaker 9: But you are hindering your son's development into manhood because
- 1:04:01Speaker 9: the one person that can teach him how to be
- 1:04:03Speaker 9: a man, you've discredited him because he wasn't a good husband. See,
- 1:04:09Speaker 9: y'all just wasn't it for each other? For whatever the reason?
- 1:04:13Speaker 9: Was he wrong for cheating one hundred percent, one hundred percent.
- 1:04:17Speaker 9: But because he's not a good husband, don't make him
- 1:04:19Speaker 9: not a good father. So now you've brainwashed the child
- 1:04:23Speaker 9: and hating his own father, and you win. But guess
- 1:04:26Speaker 9: what your child loses. And y'all got to stop that
- 1:04:30Speaker 9: this knowledge. If you are out there, you have to
- 1:04:34Speaker 9: stop that. If you're in the process of using your
- 1:04:37Speaker 9: child as upon and your divorce or your relationship, you
- 1:04:41Speaker 9: have to stop that. I am speaking from experience. You
- 1:04:47Speaker 9: have to stop that. It's not for you to do
- 1:04:51Speaker 9: this to this boy, because I have news for you.
- 1:04:54Speaker 9: One day, this boy's gonna grow up and he gonna
- 1:04:58Speaker 9: know the truth. And as this boy grows up, this
- 1:05:01Speaker 9: boy is gonna make mistakes of his own and he's
- 1:05:04Speaker 9: gonna start to understand that mistakes happen in life. But
- 1:05:09Speaker 9: because he wasn't a great husband to you, don't mean
- 1:05:12Speaker 9: that he wasn't a great and that he wasn't a
- 1:05:13Speaker 9: great father to this boy.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: And you're doing nothing but damaging the boy. And they
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: tell you all the time.
- 1:05:20Speaker 9: Listen, I don't let my children hear me say nothing
- 1:05:24Speaker 9: about their mother's dispattage.
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: Nothing.
- 1:05:27Speaker 9: Oh I could, but I don't now them on the
- 1:05:31Speaker 9: other hand, Oh, they ain't done me, done me like
- 1:05:34Speaker 9: like a damn book. But guess what, at the end,
- 1:05:39Speaker 9: the truth comes out hanging that dog. I support the
- 1:05:42Speaker 9: man in this letter, surely.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: I support the child. All right, well, wow, okay, Well
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: we'll continue this conversation when we come back. My ex
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: wife made sure my son hates me. Steve and I
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: agree on that that that is definitely wrong. And we
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: have some personal experiences to talk about when we come back.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: All right, after this, you're listening.
- 1:06:08Speaker 10: Morning show.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: All right, see this, this strawberry letter was was interesting.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: My ex wife made sure my son hates me. You know,
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: I mean, we can relate to it. We can relate
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: to it. We've both been divorced on the show. You know,
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: full disclosure. My first marriage didn't go well, didn't end well,
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: but we had a beautiful child out of that relationship.
- 1:06:32Speaker 15: And you know, I'm not ashamed to admit.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: That I was very bitter. I was very very bitter
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: when we broke up.
- 1:06:41Speaker 10: Uh.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: You know, you get to a dark place sometimes you're angry,
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: you're bitter, and you know, I was on the radio.
- 1:06:49Speaker 15: I was on the radio in LA.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: A lot of people who listened during that time. Probably
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: well hopefully they don't remember so long ago, but yeah,
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: I used to bad I used to really bad mouth
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: my ex husband on the air constantly, because you know,
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: something would happen that it would remind me or you know,
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: trigger me or something like that, and I just go in,
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: you know, or say one thing, Yeah, call him a
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: deadbeat dad or whatever whatever, and uh, just just not
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: a good look, you know.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: So when you look back, you look back for now
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: what you think, Oh.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: It was horrible. I mean I had to stop myself.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: You know, you grow, you change, people change, they do.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: I had to forgive him that. It started with that forgiveness,
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: because forgiveness is not for the other person. We talk
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: about that a lot on the show. Forgiveness is for you.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: Once I forgave him, then I could start to heal.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: And I stopped, and I apologized on the air. I
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: apologize to him for saying that because we had a child,
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: I never wanted her to grow up. And you know
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: have people saying, well, your mom used to do this,
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: talk about your I never wanted that.
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: So you know mine ain't feel that way.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: I want.
- 1:08:02Speaker 10: She wouldn't do that.
- 1:08:03Speaker 15: You're too much of a gentleman to do that.
- 1:08:05Speaker 9: Well, I would never talk about my sons and daughters
- 1:08:10Speaker 9: mothers in a disparaging way publicly.
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: I would never do that. You know.
- 1:08:16Speaker 9: I have my comments aware in my own personal life
- 1:08:20Speaker 9: because I'm human, but never on the air, because I
- 1:08:22Speaker 9: taught my sons. I raised my sons to honor their
- 1:08:26Speaker 9: mothers like I was raised to honor mind and to
- 1:08:29Speaker 9: defend her at all costs.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: I can't they can't see me talking about it. Then
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: I asked them not to honor them.
- 1:08:37Speaker 9: But you know, my my, Yeah, but my ex went
- 1:08:41Speaker 9: on a complete and total smear campaign out of out
- 1:08:46Speaker 9: of her anger and scoring for years. I understand, for years.
- 1:08:51Speaker 9: I mean just attack, attack, attack, attack. You're so you know,
- 1:08:57Speaker 9: and you know, I thank god I had Marjorie, you know,
- 1:09:01Speaker 9: a strong woman who knew me.
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I can say no.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: All right, we'll be back with more of the Steve
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show right after this.
- 1:09:10Speaker 10: You're listening Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:09:15Speaker 15: All right, guys, here's something we saw on Facebook.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: Now, there was a boss who asked five coworkers who
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: were in a meeting if they had any spare change.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: So this guy said, my friend was about to reach
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: into his pocket and a coworker grabbed his hand to
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: quickly step to quietly stop him from offering change. A
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: different coworker who was eager to kiss but said hey,
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: I have eighty cents. The boss said, great, I heard
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: your change jingling throughout the meeting. Please don't bring any
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: change into the meetings anymore. Yes, yes, yes, So Steve,
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: I got to ask you.
- 1:09:53Speaker 15: I know you have a crazy horrible boss story.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: I know you do. Please she yes.
- 1:09:58Speaker 9: I mean, you know, just in my life, I thought
- 1:10:00Speaker 9: all my bosses was horrible because first of all, my
- 1:10:03Speaker 9: problem as an Yeah, every last one of them. I
- 1:10:06Speaker 9: never none of my boss because I didn't I didn't
- 1:10:09Speaker 9: think none of them should be in charge of me.
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: That was my whole Damn Yeah, I had this. I had.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: I had a boss named Bob Cook in Cleveland at
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: the Ginery Electric Huh.
- 1:10:20Speaker 9: And he was he was chastising me one time because
- 1:10:23Speaker 9: he didn't like the way I had unloaded this truck
- 1:10:26Speaker 9: with the tobo. So it pulls me in the office
- 1:10:28Speaker 9: and talk to me, little fat, little dude, real big
- 1:10:31Speaker 9: ass stomach. He leaned back, had his foot up on
- 1:10:33Speaker 9: the desk. He said to me, you know something Harvey.
- 1:10:36Speaker 9: If you could just change your work habits. I've been
- 1:10:39Speaker 9: at this company thirty years. If you following my footsteps,
- 1:10:45Speaker 9: you could be me.
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: One day.

- 1:10:51Speaker 9: He said, where are you going? I said, man, I
- 1:10:54Speaker 9: don't want to be you, and walked out that door

- 1:11:04Speaker 9: that costs me right there, a walk out moment, shut
- 1:11:08Speaker 9: the door. I said, man, I don't want to be you.
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: Uh yeah, I'm agreeing with Steve.
- 1:11:17Speaker 13: Quitting takes a toll on your life, and it only
- 1:11:21Speaker 13: hits you when you're sitting in that car. I mean,
- 1:11:24Speaker 13: you quit inside and then you gotta go outside, and
- 1:11:28Speaker 13: you have already quit it.
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 1:11:30Speaker 13: I'm saying inside, Well I'm not. Well, the hell with it,
- 1:11:34Speaker 13: damn it. You take your job and you know what.

- 1:12:00Speaker 2: savings and last you know what I mean. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: six months. Very few people got six months of savings
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: set up.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: Yeah yeah.
- 1:12:11Speaker 13: When you realize that you're off, when you realize that

- 1:13:24Speaker 11: out and the manager came up and said, hey, you
- 1:13:27Speaker 11: just do what you're supposed to do. You sweat, you
- 1:13:29Speaker 11: fix it, and you put it back. I said, what

- 1:13:32Speaker 11: thick over here, But what are you gonna do?
- 1:13:35Speaker 4: Man?
- 1:13:35Speaker 11: I'm finna go down here. I went down there the

- 1:15:49Speaker 1: It is time now for would you rather? Would you
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: rather win the lottery jackpot or would you rather live
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: in good health and live to be one hundred and
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: twenty years old?
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: We broke though at.
- 1:16:01Speaker 10: One hundred and twenty.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: And old.
- 1:16:05Speaker 9: Give me fifteen good years of this billion, so you

- 1:16:15Speaker 9: give me this money, and God has for me exactly exactly.
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: Yeah, He's give me this money and whatever my riot is,
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: I had worked out with the line. I was looking
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: for one oh four.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: Anyway, you are a health proponent now, you like I'm
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: a big.
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: Proponent of health. Yeah, well, health is more important than wealth.
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: Yeah money in.
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: Your statement, yeah you were You could be health, right, Carlo,

- 1:16:51Speaker 2: I'm healthy now.
- 1:16:52Speaker 9: It's not saying you've got to be unhealthy with the billion.
- 1:16:56Speaker 9: It's just you're guaranteed one hundred and twenty years of
- 1:16:58Speaker 9: good health or you can get this billion right now.

- 1:17:04Speaker 2: thing I want to do before one twenty. Anyway, I'm
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: gonna do it. A couple of issues, but just billion.
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: Gotta get you straight.

- 1:17:20Speaker 1: Here're just stupid?
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: All right, here we go straight now, man, come on.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: Would you rather think about this when you were single? Okay,
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: I gotta put that in there. Would you rather get
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: a text from from a one night stand that says
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: I'm pregnant? Or I have an s t D? Which one?
- 1:17:39Speaker 4: Well?
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: Which damn STD is it? I mean, we gotta talk this.
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: It's just a helble. STD can Yeah, we might. You know,
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: the baby might be bad because you just got some
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: insects on me. We can work through that.
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: What kind of a scripture if we talk?
- 1:18:01Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:18:03Speaker 9: Actually we're talking about what are we talking about? Which
- 1:18:09Speaker 9: were talking about? Some which somebody is shoked off his penosilla?
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: Anybody?
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, we just peninsilla, I go and take shots.
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: All right?
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: All right, you guys, that's today's round of would you rather?
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: Coming up at forty nine minutes after the hour, our
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: last break of the day and some closing remarks from
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: the one and only Steve Harvey. Right after this, you're.
- 1:18:43Speaker 10: Listening Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: All right, here we are, guys, our last break of
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: the day. And Steve, you have some closing remarks.
- 1:18:54Speaker 4: You know what.
- 1:18:54Speaker 9: I'm just on this tip right now because I want
- 1:18:56Speaker 9: to just remind people really really focus on yourself. And
- 1:19:06Speaker 9: I'm not meaning to the point where you don't consider
- 1:19:09Speaker 9: other people, That's not what I'm saying. But in order
- 1:19:13Speaker 9: to be successful, I really want you to focus on yourself,
- 1:19:17Speaker 9: because in order to get you to the next level,
- 1:19:21Speaker 9: nobody should know you better than yourself, and the best
- 1:19:24Speaker 9: way to know yourself is to be true to yourself.
- 1:19:28Speaker 9: Do the things that feel right to you, Do the
- 1:19:32Speaker 9: things that motivate you, do the things that put you
- 1:19:36Speaker 9: in a better position. Do the things that you know
- 1:19:41Speaker 9: in your heart are right. If it don't feel right,
- 1:19:45Speaker 9: it's probably cause it's not. If what you are doing
- 1:19:50Speaker 9: is at the expense are the cost of somebody else,
- 1:19:54Speaker 9: You're going to have to pay for that, because that's
- 1:19:58Speaker 9: not how it's done. You don't have to use anybody
- 1:20:02Speaker 9: to get to where you're trying to go in life,
- 1:20:04Speaker 9: especially if it's in the same place God has for you.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: God don't need no help.
- 1:20:11Speaker 9: God don't need you using nobody, stepping on nobody, abusing nobody.
- 1:20:17Speaker 9: He doesn't need that help. So if you are doing
- 1:20:21Speaker 9: something and you know what's wrong. You have to pull
- 1:20:23Speaker 9: yourself up, pull yourself together.
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: Now, listen to me.
- 1:20:26Speaker 9: When you make a mistake, and you will and you
- 1:20:29Speaker 9: get it wrong, and you will get up and go again,
- 1:20:34Speaker 9: Get up and go again. You have to keep moving forward.
- 1:20:39Speaker 9: God is not looking for your perfection. He is only
- 1:20:43Speaker 9: looking for your persistence. You are not going to be perfect.
- 1:20:47Speaker 9: I don't care how hard you try. That's what Grayson
- 1:20:51Speaker 9: Forgiveness and mercy is all about. Because he put it.
- 1:20:54Speaker 9: He implemented a system where he knew that we were
- 1:20:58Speaker 9: going to fail so many times along the way trying
- 1:21:01Speaker 9: to get it right. So he created grace, mercy and forgiveness.
- 1:21:07Speaker 9: So when you make a mistake, stop laying in it.
- 1:21:11Speaker 9: It's okay. You made a mistake. It's no big deal.
- 1:21:15Speaker 9: Everybody makes them. But know yourself and know what you do.
- 1:21:19Speaker 9: If you don't really care to drink, nothing says you
- 1:21:22Speaker 9: have to drink. If you're the person that really ain't
- 1:21:25Speaker 9: in the weed, just because it is legal don't mean
- 1:21:28Speaker 9: you got to do it. Alcohol is legal, cigarettes is legal,
- 1:21:33Speaker 9: But if it's not for you, it's not for you.
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: Know yourself and lock in after you know yourself. Lock
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: in on your purpose.
- 1:21:43Speaker 9: You know I say this all the time, the two
- 1:21:45Speaker 9: greatest days in your life or the day you're born,
- 1:21:47Speaker 9: in the day you discover why. But listen to me, man,
- 1:21:51Speaker 9: that why is critical? That why is your purpose? That
- 1:21:56Speaker 9: why is your meaning your service? That why is everything?
- 1:22:02Speaker 9: You've got to lock in on your purpose and stay
- 1:22:05Speaker 9: there and stop allowing everything to sidetrack you. So many people, man,
- 1:22:12Speaker 9: we are so easily distracted in this world because the
- 1:22:15Speaker 9: distractions are everywhere. But you got to get tuned in
- 1:22:18Speaker 9: to your purpose. Why are you on this earth? Are
- 1:22:21Speaker 9: you really on this earth to live the way you
- 1:22:23Speaker 9: live in?
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: I mean, you have to just come to it that.
- 1:22:26Speaker 9: I had to just sit myself down one day and go,
- 1:22:28Speaker 9: Steve Harvey, are you really in this world to live
- 1:22:32Speaker 9: the way you live it?
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: Do you think that God.
- 1:22:35Speaker 9: Took all this time bring you through all the stuff
- 1:22:38Speaker 9: he brought you through for you to act like this,
- 1:22:42Speaker 9: for you to continue living like this? And when I
- 1:22:46Speaker 9: had that honest conversation with myself, the answer was no,
- 1:22:51Speaker 9: And so I had to start.
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: Pulling it together.
- 1:22:53Speaker 9: But I couldn't pull it together by myself. I had
- 1:22:56Speaker 9: to ask God for some help. You know, why would
- 1:23:00Speaker 9: I not go to God for the health? He's my creator.
- 1:23:04Speaker 9: If you're driving a car and you got a car
- 1:23:08Speaker 9: and your car breakdown, there's an owner's manual in the
- 1:23:11Speaker 9: glove compartment, and you know why is there because it
- 1:23:15Speaker 9: helps you troubleshoot what's wrong with the car. Now, if
- 1:23:19Speaker 9: you're driving a Toyota, that manual that you're looking for
- 1:23:23Speaker 9: in the glove compartment is going to be a Toyota
- 1:23:26Speaker 9: manual specific to the type of car that you're driving.
- 1:23:32Speaker 9: That way, you know exactly how to fix what's wrong.
- 1:23:36Speaker 9: So when something is wrong with you, you have an
- 1:23:40Speaker 9: owner's manual. It's your Bible, it's your Koran, it's your Terror,
- 1:23:45Speaker 9: it's whatever you read for your religious faith. You have
- 1:23:50Speaker 9: an owner's manual that specifically can fix your ailment. And
- 1:23:56Speaker 9: it comes in chapters and verses. God don't care what's
- 1:24:01Speaker 9: wrong with you. There is an answer in those pages.
- 1:24:06Speaker 9: And if you don't have the book, all you got
- 1:24:09Speaker 9: to do is ask God for help. But you have
- 1:24:12Speaker 9: got to get tuned in you your purpose. And when
- 1:24:15Speaker 9: you make mistakes and you fall, it doesn't mean it's over.
- 1:24:18Speaker 9: I have fallen thousands of times, but The blessing that
- 1:24:23Speaker 9: I have that God has given me is I have
- 1:24:26Speaker 9: the will, the desire and the faith to get back up.
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: Over and over and over again. And you can do
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: it too. You have that same thing in you. In
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: order to get up. You simply have to look up.
- 1:24:44Speaker 9: Every time I fall, I look to my heavenly Father
- 1:24:47Speaker 9: and he gives me the strip to go on to tomorrow.
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: And you got it.
- 1:24:52Speaker 9: All you got to do is get home, go to sleep,
- 1:24:55Speaker 9: wake up and go again. Come on, y'all, this is
- 1:24:59Speaker 9: the year. You can change a lot of things. It's
- 1:25:02Speaker 9: gonna take some effort on your part, but you can
- 1:25:04Speaker 9: do it. It's just take some faith. The faith with
- 1:25:08Speaker 9: our works is dead. You got to get busy, stay
- 1:25:11Speaker 9: true to yourself, identify your purpose and stop getting distracted.
- 1:25:16Speaker 2: Let's go my clothing man. Y'all have a great day,
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: all right. Talk to God. He loved to hear from you.
