- 2:06Speaker 1: the voice, Come on, DIGNI now one and only Steve
- 2:10Speaker 1: Harvey got a radio show. Here we go today. I
- 2:15Speaker 1: think I have something for a lot of people today,
- 2:18Speaker 1: at least I hope I do. And this is about
- 2:21Speaker 1: on your journey, And this is about something that happens
- 2:26Speaker 1: to us all. I mean, what happens to all of
- 2:31Speaker 1: us from time to time when we get discouraged. What
- 2:36Speaker 1: happens to all of us when we feel like quitting,
- 2:40Speaker 1: What happens to all of us when we have that
- 2:42Speaker 1: turn back moment, What happens to all of us when
- 2:47Speaker 1: it don't seem like it's gonna paying out. Because I
- 2:51Speaker 1: want you to understand something that everyone, every single living soul,
- 2:56Speaker 1: has those thoughts about something at some point in their life.
- 3:03Speaker 1: I mean, you know, look, I've oftentimes been discouraged about
- 3:07Speaker 1: things not happening as fast as I like them. All
- 3:12Speaker 1: things don't paying out the way I would like for
- 3:15Speaker 1: them to have payed out. I mean, there's so many
- 3:18Speaker 1: ways to get discouraged. But what But what my encouragement
- 3:25Speaker 1: to you is when discouragement comes is understand this. It
- 3:32Speaker 1: is a part of the growth process. It is a test.
- 3:39Speaker 1: It is a test of your faith. How bad you wanted?
- 3:45Speaker 1: Do you really believe? That's That's all faith is. It's simply,
- 3:52Speaker 1: and I've said this how many times. Faith is the
- 3:55Speaker 1: belief in things that you cannot see. So when discouragement comes,
- 4:00Speaker 1: setbacks comes, it is a test of your faith. At
- 4:04Speaker 1: least it's been that way for me. Now other people
- 4:07Speaker 1: can explain it another way. I'm not other people. I
- 4:09Speaker 1: can only give it to you the way it has
- 4:12Speaker 1: come to me and throughout my life, and man on
- 4:14Speaker 1: man on man. Discouragement sometimes it's tough to deal with
- 4:21Speaker 1: because it seems at times when you are discouraged. That
- 4:25Speaker 1: is so absolute that this means the end, and if
- 4:32Speaker 1: you allow it to set in, it can be just
- 4:36Speaker 1: that the end of you. When Milly Milly, it was
- 4:40Speaker 1: a test, that's all it is. But the majority of
- 4:45Speaker 1: people that I know who are not successful or who
- 4:50Speaker 1: have told me the story of how they gave up
- 4:52Speaker 1: it was it was because at a moment of discouragement
- 4:57Speaker 1: that they allowed it to set in and it became
- 5:01Speaker 1: so engulfing that it became the reason why you shouldn't finish.
- 5:06Speaker 1: And then they started justifying it with here the one
- 5:09Speaker 1: that I hate to hear. Well, if if it's God's will,
- 5:12Speaker 1: excuse me. If it's God's will that you fail. If
- 5:19Speaker 1: it's God's will that you're not successful, If it's God's
- 5:24Speaker 1: will that you lay down and give up, it's God's
- 5:28Speaker 1: will that you allow yourself to amount to, not to
- 5:32Speaker 1: not reach your or potential. That's God's will. That's not
- 5:37Speaker 1: the God I know. That's not the God I served,
- 5:40Speaker 1: that's not the God I've read about. That's not the
- 5:44Speaker 1: God I believe in. I'm sorry. I just my mother
- 5:47Speaker 1: always taught me something that he didn't bring me this
- 5:50Speaker 1: far to leave me. I just don't believe that, not
- 5:55Speaker 1: for a second. Now have I convinced myself some things? Yep?
- 6:01Speaker 1: Have I allowed the devil to come into the picture
- 6:04Speaker 1: and paint a different one from it? Yep, yep, I've
- 6:07Speaker 1: done all of that. But you can't blame that on God. Now,
- 6:12Speaker 1: come on, So when when discouragement comes, try to look
- 6:20Speaker 1: at it if you can, as a test of your faith,
- 6:24Speaker 1: and you merely have to pass the test. It could
- 6:27Speaker 1: be for a day, a half a day, a few hours,
- 6:30Speaker 1: a week, a few weeks, it don't matter. Don't nobody
- 6:33Speaker 1: know how long the test period is. Your job is
- 6:36Speaker 1: to keep the faith and keep moving. Keep the faith
- 6:41Speaker 1: and keep moving, keep working, keep believing, keep hope alive.
- 6:46Speaker 1: That's your job. If you do that, that's how you
- 6:50Speaker 1: pass the test. It could be over tomorrow, It could
- 6:54Speaker 1: be over in two weeks, it could be over in
- 6:55Speaker 1: a month. You don't know. But all you got to
- 6:58Speaker 1: do is wake up and keep the faith and fight
- 7:01Speaker 1: the discouraging feelings. And how do you do that? Steve?
- 7:04Speaker 1: Now here we go. This is the part I know
- 7:06Speaker 1: about for show because how many times I've had to
- 7:10Speaker 1: fight off discouragement in order to get to where God
- 7:14Speaker 1: wanted me to be. What do you do when you
- 7:17Speaker 1: become discouraged? Well, here's a series of things. I do.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I think of the outcome. When I get discouraged about
- 7:27Speaker 1: a task, I think about the outcome. Man, what would
- 7:31Speaker 1: it be like if I were to complete the task?
- 7:34Speaker 1: What would it be like? Man? What would the outcome
- 7:37Speaker 1: be for me? If I hung on in there? If
- 7:40Speaker 1: I didn't give up, If I if I if I imagine,
- 7:45Speaker 1: I imagine if I don't quit, I imagine if I
- 7:49Speaker 1: don't give up, what would it be like? Man? Suppose
- 7:54Speaker 1: everything I'm hoping for comes true. But if I don't
- 7:57Speaker 1: quit and give up, that might just be a case.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I start talking to myself like that. I think of
- 8:05Speaker 1: what the upside is. What's the upside to stay in
- 8:09Speaker 1: with it? You see, all this is the same thing.
- 8:12Speaker 1: I'm just giving you different ways to look at it.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I'm saying the exact same thing over and over. But
- 8:17Speaker 1: I'm just trying to find the switch that connects in
- 8:19Speaker 1: your mind where you can say, Okay, man, I'm gonna
- 8:22Speaker 1: hang in there. Because if you think of the outcome,
- 8:26Speaker 1: and the outcome is appealing to you, if you imagine
- 8:29Speaker 1: what it would be like if you don't give up,
- 8:31Speaker 1: or you don't quit. If you if you think only
- 8:35Speaker 1: of what the upside is to stay in with it,
- 8:39Speaker 1: and then I I go, where can this lead to?
- 8:43Speaker 1: If I stay with it, man, and the outcome comes true?
- 8:46Speaker 1: What else could that lead me to? Because I mean,
- 8:50Speaker 1: there's always more to it? So what where else could
- 8:54Speaker 1: this lead me to? What are the possibilities? Man? What
- 8:59Speaker 1: are the limitless possibilities? What could God possibly have in
- 9:04Speaker 1: store for me? If I just hang in there? If
- 9:06Speaker 1: I passed this test of faith, if I just passed
- 9:10Speaker 1: this test. Now, it ain't gonna be the only one.
- 9:13Speaker 1: But you gotta get past this one. No, then you're
- 9:16Speaker 1: gonna hear the smooth plane. Then it's gonna be another one.
- 9:19Speaker 1: It's gonna be another one. Life ain't nothing but a
- 9:21Speaker 1: series of tests. Man. Man, When you're thinking about giving up,
- 9:28Speaker 1: when you discourage, think of the outcome. Imagine what it
- 9:32Speaker 1: would be like if you don't quit, if you don't
- 9:34Speaker 1: give up. What's the upside to stay in with it?
- 9:37Speaker 1: Where can this all lead to? What? What can this
- 9:41Speaker 1: get you too? If if you do this and you
- 9:44Speaker 1: get to where you think you want to be? Oh
- 9:46Speaker 1: my god, what's after that, what are the limitless and
- 9:51Speaker 1: endless possibilities of holding on to your faith? What could
- 9:55Speaker 1: really be out there for me? Man? If I just
- 9:58Speaker 1: passed this test, you gotta talk yourself into hanging in there.
- 10:02Speaker 1: And sometimes it ain't nobody talking to you about hanging
- 10:05Speaker 1: in there but you. But that's good enough because God
- 10:10Speaker 1: has a blessing for you. God's got a blessing with
- 10:13Speaker 1: your name on it. God has packages bundled up with
- 10:18Speaker 1: your name on it. He got blessings just in boxes
- 10:22Speaker 1: with your name on it. Man, I want all the
- 10:25Speaker 1: mind shipped. I'll be on Faith Street waiting there to receive.
- 10:31Speaker 1: I just I'm just believing he's shipping stuff. But if
- 10:35Speaker 1: you keep moving from the address of Faith, if you
- 10:38Speaker 1: keep getting off Faith Street, why you want the packages
- 10:41Speaker 1: to go? They got your name on it and it's
- 10:45Speaker 1: based on your faith. But if you keep moving on
- 10:47Speaker 1: Doubt Avenue and ain't no Way Boulevard and the pasage
- 10:51Speaker 1: get delivered only the Faith Street? What you keep moving
- 10:54Speaker 1: on Faith Street for? Come on, man, you can't give up.
- 10:56Speaker 1: You can't give up. Steve Morning Show Boom, that's Joe

- 14:25Speaker 1: I'm glad we all got a day. That's right, we
- 14:29Speaker 1: all voted. Yeah, I gotta take care of a lot
- 14:33Speaker 1: of business today. So we come back. We're talking about
- 14:37Speaker 1: voting in some other things. Yes we will, and we'll
- 14:39Speaker 1: be back at thirty two after the hour. Right after this.
- 14:43Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Morning Show. All right, it's
- 14:47Speaker 1: time to get serious, guys and switch gears. Okay, just
- 14:50Speaker 1: a few more days until the mid term elections on Tuesday,
- 14:56Speaker 1: and we got to talk about voting. Over twenty four
- 14:58Speaker 1: million votes have been counted as earlier or absentee voting,
- 15:03Speaker 1: a number that exceeds the total nationwide early vote from
- 15:06Speaker 1: two thousand fourteen. So that's good news, and Steve, we
- 15:11Speaker 1: have to keep going. Oprah was in Marietta, Georgia, campaigning
- 15:14Speaker 1: for Our Girls Stacy Abrams, and during her speech, Oprah
- 15:18Speaker 1: took a moment to talk to women about standing united
- 15:21Speaker 1: and voting our values. Take a listen. If you're a woman,
- 15:24Speaker 1: you need to recognize it hasn't even been a hundred
- 15:26Speaker 1: years since we even had the right to vote, since
- 15:31Speaker 1: we were considered a piece of property you couldn't even
- 15:34Speaker 1: own a piece of our I loved land so much,
- 15:36Speaker 1: and I think, boy, if I was warned at the
- 15:38Speaker 1: at the turn of the century, twentieth century, I wouldn't
- 15:40Speaker 1: even have the right to own the land without your
- 15:43Speaker 1: father or your husband saying it was sould. You didn't
- 15:47Speaker 1: have the right to even take care of yourself. So
- 15:51Speaker 1: you didn't have a voice. And now we do. We
- 15:54Speaker 1: as when women people, we as women people need to
- 15:58Speaker 1: stand united and vote our values, vote your values, vote
- 16:03Speaker 1: your conscience. All this noise, all the noise, you just
- 16:07Speaker 1: can't get away from it. You turn on the TV
- 16:09Speaker 1: on the way, it's so much noise and crazy talk,
- 16:13Speaker 1: all the virtuol in the ads. You know what, they
- 16:16Speaker 1: are designed to confuse and confound you with fear. That's
- 16:23Speaker 1: what they're done. They're designed to confound you with fear.
- 16:29Speaker 1: They are not designed for people with discernment. Women people,
- 16:33Speaker 1: we have discernment. That's so true, that's so true. This
- 16:39Speaker 1: this election is so important for us. The reason I've
- 16:42Speaker 1: taken it so seriously, this mid term, which is really
- 16:46Speaker 1: one of the first mid terms that I've taken this seriously.
- 16:48Speaker 1: To be honest with you, you know, sometimes I've missed
- 16:52Speaker 1: the mid terms in the past. I'm just being honest you.
- 16:54Speaker 1: The reason I've discovered this is because I want to
- 16:58Speaker 1: send a message to the White House that because you're
- 17:04Speaker 1: a Democrat doesn't make you a member of a mob. Now,
- 17:09Speaker 1: Democrats have some great values. I'm not saying that all
- 17:13Speaker 1: conservative or Republican values are wrong, because some of the
- 17:17Speaker 1: things they're right. But here's the problem. When your values
- 17:24Speaker 1: are at the expense of us having anything, then you
- 17:29Speaker 1: can't have You can't run your values down my throat.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I'm okay with you being conservative or Republican, but you
- 17:37Speaker 1: have to then turn around and be okay with me
- 17:40Speaker 1: being a Democrat or a liberal. You have to because
- 17:45Speaker 1: that's what makes the world float. That's right. If if
- 17:51Speaker 1: you consider yourself the moral party, then I'm just asking
- 17:55Speaker 1: you to do the moral thing, not the thing that's
- 17:59Speaker 1: better for your pocket, not the thing that's best for
- 18:03Speaker 1: the economy, but the thing the best for everybody's life.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Because after we vote, we still have to live next
- 18:09Speaker 1: to each other. And the rhetoric that's coming from the
- 18:12Speaker 1: White House is so divisive. This this it wasn't an ad,
- 18:17Speaker 1: it wasn't a paid ad, but Trump released on Twitter
- 18:22Speaker 1: this video or this Latin guy talking about, yeah, I'll
- 18:26Speaker 1: kill two more police, I kill another cop. He said,
- 18:31Speaker 1: the Democrats let him in the country. What No, No,
- 18:35Speaker 1: we didn't. I ain't noticed, dude. But see, this man
- 18:42Speaker 1: isn't idiot. But see, but look, whenever he got in,
- 18:49Speaker 1: he committed a haino US act against some police officers. Okay,
- 18:54Speaker 1: we couldn't blame the Democrats. No more, no more than
- 18:58Speaker 1: you want to allow us to blame Republicans for this
- 19:03Speaker 1: man that sent the pipe bombs to c an n
- 19:07Speaker 1: President Obama, Biden, Maxine Waters, all these other people, everybody
- 19:14Speaker 1: you've been talking against. You don't want us to put
- 19:17Speaker 1: that on you, but you want to put this one
- 19:20Speaker 1: crazy ass man on the whole Democratic Party. You don't
- 19:26Speaker 1: want to take any responsibility for the murders in the synagogue,
- 19:30Speaker 1: the krogers. You don't want to take responsibility for Charlottesville
- 19:36Speaker 1: when you turned around and have the audacity to say
- 19:40Speaker 1: that there's good people on both sides. If you're tired
- 19:43Speaker 1: of that, you have to vote. If you're tired of
- 19:48Speaker 1: him talking to you like you don't matter, you have
- 19:52Speaker 1: to vote. You have to vote. I'm just tired of
- 19:56Speaker 1: the rhetoric that comes from the White House that's so
- 19:59Speaker 1: divid and now it gets to run rapid through the
- 20:02Speaker 1: state to the Senate. In the House because they got
- 20:05Speaker 1: ConTroll of that. We got to create a balance. Man,
- 20:08Speaker 1: We've got to vote Stacey Abrahams Gilliam, the boy in Mississippi.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Give me a man's name in Mississippi. So I quit
- 20:16Speaker 1: saying that. Mike Steves a better rour. Yeah, all right,
- 20:25Speaker 1: And and also Steve coming up at the top of
- 20:27Speaker 1: the hour, We're gonna play some more of Oprah's speech.
- 20:29Speaker 1: It was very inspirational. It's very uplifting. Yeah, in Florida
- 20:33Speaker 1: tonight President Obama will be in Miami campaigning for Andrew Gillum.
- 20:37Speaker 1: You just so get out and vote, all right, Yeah, alright,
- 20:42Speaker 1: so irising that is my prayer because your electrical your
- 20:48Speaker 1: electoral vote won't save you this time. The popular vote counts.
- 20:53Speaker 1: We got rid of that man down in Alabama. You
- 20:56Speaker 1: thought you'd never see that day. All right, now a
- 21:00Speaker 1: few Tommy's run that prank back is coming up right
- 21:02Speaker 1: after this. You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show
- 21:07Speaker 1: coming up in about twenty minutes. After the next hour,
- 21:10Speaker 1: Tiffany Hattish. I said, Tiffany Hattish, very special guest. We
- 21:17Speaker 1: love her, and get ready because at the top of
- 21:20Speaker 1: the hour, we're gonna talk about While campaigning for Stacy
- 21:24Speaker 1: Abrams and Georgia, Oprah Winfrey called out the non voters. Okay,
- 21:29Speaker 1: so Tommy, before we get to all of that, you're
- 21:32Speaker 1: up with, run that prank back what you got for us.
- 21:35Speaker 1: I need you to wash me. I'm not watching you. No, no, no,
- 21:39Speaker 1: let's just go right. We're gonna be prosh me great.
- 21:50Speaker 1: It's a great day. Nursery. This is Felicia. I'm trying
- 21:53Speaker 1: to get somebody come out here. I'm sorry, one I
- 21:58Speaker 1: need to talk about come down here at the five
- 22:01Speaker 1: on one and and clean me up. Sir. I think
- 22:04Speaker 1: you might have the wrong number. This is n this
- 22:08Speaker 1: is the nurse. I need the nurse to come down
- 22:11Speaker 1: here to five on one and clean me up. So
- 22:13Speaker 1: this is the nursery, not the nurse. I think you
- 22:16Speaker 1: might have dialed the wrong number, nor the I need
- 22:19Speaker 1: to talk to the one nurse city. Yea, that's who's
- 22:23Speaker 1: normally clean me up. I need to come down here,
- 22:26Speaker 1: clean me up, sir. I really do think you have
- 22:29Speaker 1: the wrong number. Where are you calling from? Who? Who?
- 22:33Speaker 1: Who is it here? This is Felicia. I'm the director
- 22:37Speaker 1: here at the nursery. That's what I say. I need
- 22:39Speaker 1: the nurse to come down here to clean me up.
- 22:43Speaker 1: I've been playing and every only stuff to clean me
- 22:46Speaker 1: up because I've been sitting here a long time. I
- 22:49Speaker 1: ain't nobody come, sir. I think you dialed the wrong number.
- 22:53Speaker 1: If you tell me where you are, I can try
- 22:56Speaker 1: to help you. But you ain't done the wrong number.
- 22:58Speaker 1: I need somebody to come down on it up and
- 23:00Speaker 1: clean me up. This ain't right. Y'all pulled the pill,
- 23:04Speaker 1: y'all pull the guinea. Ever po comes check on the
- 23:08Speaker 1: nobody come check on me yet? Okay, well, I I apologize,
- 23:12Speaker 1: but you have the wrong number. Try hanging up and
- 23:14Speaker 1: then daling. It's a nurse station, sir. This is a nursery.
- 23:19Speaker 1: We take care of children here. This is not the
- 23:22Speaker 1: nurse station. I'm not a child, I said, it's just
- 23:26Speaker 1: the nurse station. I'm sorry you're not listening to me.
- 23:30Speaker 1: This is not the nurse station. This is a nursery.
- 23:34Speaker 1: We have children here. We take care of children. So
- 23:37Speaker 1: I think you dial the wrong number. No, they said
- 23:40Speaker 1: that they pulled the come clean up every hour, they
- 23:43Speaker 1: pulled the come check on not been here. I've been
- 23:46Speaker 1: on my new three hour they' nobody comes to check
- 23:48Speaker 1: on me yet, and not that I need somebody to
- 23:50Speaker 1: come clean me up and uh the bed playing a
- 23:54Speaker 1: fool and and they just they they just don't come
- 23:58Speaker 1: check on this like they pull the check on the
- 24:00Speaker 1: I am check. I'm really sorry that they have not
- 24:04Speaker 1: come to check on you in your your bad pants,

- 25:59Speaker 1: and I have really, really nice you right now, Please
- 26:05Speaker 1: do not speak to me like that. I'm trying to
- 26:11Speaker 1: You're gonna calm down and quit talking to me like that.
- 26:13Speaker 1: I'm trying to help you. Now. That's just rude speaking
- 26:16Speaker 1: to me like that that this is a nurse or
- 26:19Speaker 1: read now. You know I knew you as I'm talking
- 26:27Speaker 1: to him. But David, You're not gonna talk to me
- 26:29Speaker 1: like that. That's just rude and disrespectful. Don't speak to
- 26:32Speaker 1: me like that. You're talking about kicking I will kick
- 26:35Speaker 1: yo in the wheel chair. This seems to be the
- 26:38Speaker 1: only language you understand is me talking to you crazy.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Since you're talking to me crazy, is not coming down
- 26:46Speaker 1: that you stay in that stink. How about that what
- 26:50Speaker 1: you heard me? I said, you stay in that stank.
- 26:53Speaker 1: I'm not cleaning up. I've been trying to tell you
- 26:55Speaker 1: but the pay us five minutes, but you won't shut
- 26:57Speaker 1: up long enough to listen. You gonna get hit. I
- 27:01Speaker 1: am not coming down there to clean your why not.
- 27:06Speaker 1: I've been trying to tell you that's not my job.
- 27:09Speaker 1: You dial the wrong number. Talking to you? Who are
- 27:13Speaker 1: you talking to? Like that? Who? We'll bring it on
- 27:16Speaker 1: there if you think you can get in your wheelchair
- 27:18Speaker 1: and make it down here to the nursery to whom
- 27:21Speaker 1: and come the hell owned. Listen when you take a
- 27:25Speaker 1: message from it and give it to somebody, what's your
- 27:28Speaker 1: what's your message? Right down and use huh what you
- 27:41Speaker 1: got that part? Yeah? I got that far? Okay, h
- 27:47Speaker 1: m m. What is that? What? I don't know? What
- 27:54Speaker 1: is it? Spread it up? I'm not selling that. You
- 27:58Speaker 1: tell me what it is? What does that say? I
- 28:00Speaker 1: don't know. Nephew taught me. Nephew Tommy. This is nephew
- 28:08Speaker 1: Timmy from the Steve Morning Show. Baby, you just got
- 28:11Speaker 1: bregged back your sister Nita. Well you were sitting up
- 28:21Speaker 1: there like what in the world. Yeah, you got me,
- 28:27Speaker 1: you got me, very, I got you, I got you.
- 28:30Speaker 1: I got one question for you, though, what is what
- 28:33Speaker 1: is the baddest and I mean the baddest radio show
- 28:36Speaker 1: in the land. It is the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 28:40Speaker 1: You got me good? You need to give me a
- 28:47Speaker 1: little washing, you know what I'm saying. Washing? What do
- 28:51Speaker 1: you have coming up? Tommy? I'm in Pine Bluff tonight
- 28:54Speaker 1: all right, along with Don d C Curry and d
- 28:57Speaker 1: C Young Flower. I'm with the d C get you take.
- 29:00Speaker 1: They don't see it right now, But tomorrow though, what night?
- 29:04Speaker 1: Ready to love on own Baby? That's TPM Eastern, nine Central,
- 29:09Speaker 1: And let me tell you'll second week full term. Yeah, man, Augusteve, Augusteve.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Let me tell you something. This thing is starting to
- 29:16Speaker 1: snowball and roll into something because guess what. The show
- 29:19Speaker 1: first started off where the ladies were voting off the men.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Now the tables have turned and being all about to
- 29:27Speaker 1: start voting off the women. Y'all better tune in Baby
- 29:30Speaker 1: tomorrow night on nine Central. If you had to vote
- 29:35Speaker 1: a woman off this show, Tommy, who would you vote off? No? No,
- 29:40Speaker 1: he's got a state neutral scenes. All right, listen, we
- 29:44Speaker 1: gotta get out of here. Coming up at the top
- 29:45Speaker 1: of the hour, whild campaigning for Stacy in Georgia. Oprah
- 29:50Speaker 1: called out or as Tommy calls her, oh h called
- 29:53Speaker 1: out the non voters. Right after this, you're listening to
- 29:57Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Coming up in twenty minutes, guys,
- 30:02Speaker 1: Tiffany Hattish will be our very special guest. She's going
- 30:05Speaker 1: to tell us about her new movie, Tyler Perry's Nobody's Fool.
- 30:10Speaker 1: It is in theaters right now. Make sure you go
- 30:13Speaker 1: and check it out so we can make a number
- 30:14Speaker 1: one this weekend. But first, Steve. Yeah. Oprah Winfrey was
- 30:19Speaker 1: in Georgia yesterday. She was campaigning for Democratic gubernatorial candidate
- 30:23Speaker 1: Stacy Abrams. Take a listen as Oprah talked about why
- 30:26Speaker 1: she votes, Take a listen. I'm here today because, like
- 30:29Speaker 1: a lot of young people, I didn't take votings voting
- 30:32Speaker 1: seriously until around my mid twenties. And around my mid
- 30:35Speaker 1: twenties I had had the had the privilege of hearing
- 30:38Speaker 1: Reverend Otis Moss Jr. Who's a preacher y'all know him, preacher,
- 30:44Speaker 1: preacher in in in in in Cleveland, Ohio, and I
- 30:47Speaker 1: heard him tell the story of his father of Otis
- 30:51Speaker 1: Loss Senior, who right here in Georgia's Truth County, got
- 30:56Speaker 1: up in the morning and put on his only suit
- 30:59Speaker 1: and his best tie, and he walked six miles to
- 31:03Speaker 1: the voting poll location he was told to go to
- 31:06Speaker 1: in Lagrange. And when he got there, after walking six
- 31:10Speaker 1: miles in his good suit and tie, they said, boy,
- 31:14Speaker 1: you at the wrong place. You're at the wrong place.
- 31:19Speaker 1: You need to go over to Mountville. So he walked
- 31:22Speaker 1: another six miles to Mountville and when he got there,
- 31:26Speaker 1: they said, boy, you at the wrong place. You need
- 31:31Speaker 1: to go to the Rose Months School. And I picture
- 31:35Speaker 1: him walking from dawn to dusk in his suit, his
- 31:40Speaker 1: feet tired, getting to the Rose Month School and they say, boy,
- 31:45Speaker 1: you too late. The polls are closed. And he never
- 31:50Speaker 1: had a chance to vote. By the time the next
- 31:53Speaker 1: election came around, he had died. So when I go
- 31:58Speaker 1: to the polls and I asked my ballot, I cast
- 32:02Speaker 1: it for a man I never knew. I cast it
- 32:05Speaker 1: for Otis Moss Senior, who walked eighteen miles one day
- 32:09Speaker 1: just for the chance to vote. And when I go
- 32:16Speaker 1: into the polls, I cast the vote for my grandmother
- 32:21Speaker 1: had He made Lee, who died in nineteen sixty three
- 32:24Speaker 1: before the Voting Rights Act of nine and never had
- 32:27Speaker 1: a chance to vote. I vote for her. And when
- 32:31Speaker 1: I stand in the polls, I do what my Angelou says.
- 32:35Speaker 1: I come as one, but I stand as ten thousands
- 32:46Speaker 1: for all those who paid the way that we might
- 32:49Speaker 1: have the right to vote, And for anybody here who
- 32:54Speaker 1: has an ancestor who didn't have the right to vote,
- 32:59Speaker 1: and you are choosing not to vote wherever you are
- 33:02Speaker 1: in this state, in this country, you are dishonoring your family.
- 33:14Speaker 1: You are disrespecting and disregarding their legacy, their suffering, and
- 33:20Speaker 1: their dreams when you don't vote. So honor your legacy.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Honor your legacy, Honor your right to to citizenship in
- 33:32Speaker 1: this which is the greatest country in the world, the
- 33:35Speaker 1: greatest country in the world. And the right to vote
- 33:38Speaker 1: is like like like the crown. We all get to
- 33:41Speaker 1: where may I used to say, maybe your crown has
- 33:43Speaker 1: been paid for us, So put it on your head
- 33:45Speaker 1: and wear it. Come on. I think if you don't
- 33:53Speaker 1: understand that, you don't get that, there's something's wrong with you.
- 33:57Speaker 1: I think every oh, well meaning person, any thought provoked person,
- 34:03Speaker 1: any person who has the capacity to understand history, how
- 34:08Speaker 1: how can you not relate to that? I mean, you know,
- 34:12Speaker 1: and we we've got to vote. You don't understand, Yes,
- 34:17Speaker 1: you do, yes, you tho you have to vote. You
- 34:23Speaker 1: have to vote. It's idiotic not to vote. You have
- 34:26Speaker 1: the power and you're not using it. But you say
- 34:28Speaker 1: you want the power, you have it and then died
- 34:35Speaker 1: before the next election. And never got a chance. And
- 34:38Speaker 1: then we're sitting up here talking about we not vote. Yeah,
- 34:40Speaker 1: we're mad. Yeah, don't make a difference. No, it does that.
- 34:48Speaker 1: They want you to think it will not make a difference.
- 34:51Speaker 1: That's right. Every vote can make a difference. Let me
- 34:55Speaker 1: explain something to you. In two thousand eight, we turned
- 34:59Speaker 1: out in record numbers. Guess what Obama became president. In
- 35:06Speaker 1: two thousand and twelve, we showed back up again. Guess
- 35:11Speaker 1: what he got reelected early in the night. Remember that
- 35:15Speaker 1: Steve earlier. It took him till ten thirty or something.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Remember you called and you were like, I told you,
- 35:21Speaker 1: I told you he was gonna win it. I told you.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Remember that this administration cannot spew this type of rhetoric
- 35:32Speaker 1: and think that we're stupid. Now, you can feed this
- 35:35Speaker 1: to your base. But if you think that we're scared,
- 35:39Speaker 1: here's the deep part. If you think we're scared of
- 35:41Speaker 1: a caravan of a thousand people walking through Mexico to
- 35:46Speaker 1: get here, are you kidding me? My man? Do you
- 35:48Speaker 1: know we've been through? Do you know the conditions we've
- 35:52Speaker 1: had to live in? You don't, And you're telling me
- 35:54Speaker 1: a caravan with a bunch of women and babies. You
- 35:57Speaker 1: think that scarce, No, man, that doesn't scare us. You're
- 36:01Speaker 1: scaring your base with that. You can't fool us. They're
- 36:05Speaker 1: not coming to take our jobs. You can stop all
- 36:08Speaker 1: in at rhetoric. You can stop this thing talking about
- 36:11Speaker 1: you're gonna repeal the Birthright Act. The fourteenth Amendment says
- 36:16Speaker 1: that if you're born from an immigrant into this family,
- 36:19Speaker 1: and you're born here, you're a US citizen. If you
- 36:22Speaker 1: repeal the Birthright Act, Donald Trump supposed to get here
- 36:27Speaker 1: is repeal too. Didn't didn't your parents come over here?
- 36:33Speaker 1: All right? Uh? Out and vote and we'll be back
- 36:38Speaker 1: with more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show and our
- 36:40Speaker 1: special guest Tiffany Haddish right after this. You're listening to
- 36:44Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Hey John and us this morning,

- 38:57Speaker 1: and Tika don't have nothing in coming of that's about
- 39:00Speaker 1: to move me and Taka do have something in common.
- 39:03Speaker 1: We got the same mama. Okay, T's name her catters
- 39:07Speaker 1: like she called herself Danica, but her name is Nika. Okay,
- 39:10Speaker 1: that's what mama named And our mama, it's like the golfer.
- 39:15Speaker 1: And my mama won't let me what you want to.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Let you know, my mama she won'ta let me come
- 39:19Speaker 1: home when I get out of jail. She wants me
- 39:21Speaker 1: to go live with my sisters. I don't live with
- 39:23Speaker 1: my sister. And I said she I came up in
- 39:24Speaker 1: the world. She got about ninth. How you no, nine

- 40:06Speaker 1: that's out to date, Nobody's Food, written and are produced
- 40:09Speaker 1: by Tyler Perry. She plays the role of Tanu and
- 40:14Speaker 1: she was just released from prison. She's reunited with her
- 40:16Speaker 1: sister played by Tika Something and uh, ain't got nothing

- 41:22Speaker 1: I can't wait to see the movie. I can't. It's
- 41:25Speaker 1: so far You've had all home runs, Tiffany, so I

- 42:18Speaker 1: really high. And he kept telling me that I need
- 42:21Speaker 1: to go buy it. But see, I used to be
- 42:23Speaker 1: homeless and live in my car, so I personally, I'm

- 42:37Speaker 1: he went and brought it for me after the movie
- 42:40Speaker 1: he had tested really high. I guess he felt like
- 42:42Speaker 1: he's gonna make a lot more money and he should
- 42:44Speaker 1: give me some kind of a bonus. He got me
- 42:50Speaker 1: the Tesla, and I'm very grateful. If if I ever

- 46:03Speaker 1: Now you paid a love offering as well? Right? Yes, okay,
- 46:07Speaker 1: now this past Sunday. Um, I'm looking at a check
- 46:10Speaker 1: that you left us with the bank, right right, I
- 46:14Speaker 1: sure did. I wrote a check Sunday. Okay. Now the
- 46:16Speaker 1: check ma'am was two hundred and fifty dollars? Am I correct? Right? Right?
- 46:21Speaker 1: I wrote two checks for my ties and the love offering? Right,
- 46:25Speaker 1: I wrote one for two fifty for the love offering? Okay?
- 46:27Speaker 1: Now what is this call regarding? Why are you calling me?

- 46:50Speaker 1: well as you know you you cost us thirty dollars
- 46:54Speaker 1: uh in bank fees. Wait a minute, now, I wrote
- 46:57Speaker 1: two checks. I wrote a check for a hundred dollars.
- 46:59Speaker 1: Did that one bound? I don't see to it that
- 47:02Speaker 1: that that one bound? All I know is the one
- 47:04Speaker 1: that the love offering has bounced? Did you put him
- 47:06Speaker 1: in at the same time? Because I wrote him at
- 47:08Speaker 1: the same time. They all go in on Monday, ma'am. Now,
- 47:11Speaker 1: I didn't put them in at the same time. I've
- 47:13Speaker 1: been putting them in for the last two or three years.
- 47:15Speaker 1: The problem is why would people write them? Brother Sean say, I,
- 47:21Speaker 1: I don't think it matters. And when I was there, man,
- 47:24Speaker 1: the problem is that I didn't put these checks in.
- 47:26Speaker 1: And I don't understand why y'all write these checks to
- 47:29Speaker 1: the church none that they're gonna because a lot of
- 47:32Speaker 1: people right that good clear? Why the other one didn't clear?
- 47:37Speaker 1: Maybe you didn't have enough money for both of them
- 47:39Speaker 1: to clear? What did you just say? Maybe you didn't
- 47:43Speaker 1: have enough money in the bank for both of them
- 47:45Speaker 1: to clip. And I don't understand why people right in
- 47:47Speaker 1: the bank at all? My checks clear? I don't write no. Well,
- 47:52Speaker 1: you wrote one on Sunday, and that's the problem. How
- 47:54Speaker 1: are you gonna try to give a look? Wait a minute,
- 47:56Speaker 1: I think you got me confused with somebody else. I
- 47:58Speaker 1: don't write no bad check. You didn't wrote that to you.
- 48:02Speaker 1: I'm trying to be nice to you. When can we
- 48:04Speaker 1: expect the two fifty plus the thirty dollars? So that's
- 48:08Speaker 1: the bank fees, ma'am for the doll gonna check bouncing?
- 48:11Speaker 1: My check didn't bounce. I don't check my bank. And
- 48:14Speaker 1: if my check clear, you're gonna pay me thirty dollars
- 48:17Speaker 1: for calling me harassing me a boy? A two hundred
- 48:19Speaker 1: and fifty dollar check bounce? I don't write Why would
- 48:22Speaker 1: you write check? What you want to sit up in
- 48:24Speaker 1: the church and write these big number checks when you
- 48:26Speaker 1: know you ain't got it in the bank? I said,
- 48:30Speaker 1: why would you write these checks when the money ain't in? Now,
- 48:33Speaker 1: let me tell you one thing. I don't write no
- 48:36Speaker 1: bad check, and you got a lots calling me telling

- 54:03Speaker 1: is the straw Very that's right, and we could be
- 54:06Speaker 1: reading your letter live on the air, just like this
- 54:08Speaker 1: one subject. She said, She's not going anywhere here. Stephen Shirley,
- 54:14Speaker 1: I've been in a relationship for a little over three years.
- 54:17Speaker 1: This man treated me like a queen, and I just
- 54:21Speaker 1: knew that he was the one. Right when I was
- 54:24Speaker 1: getting ready to get married again, my men's skeletons came
- 54:28Speaker 1: out of the closet. He admitted that there is this
- 54:30Speaker 1: woman that has been in his life for many years,
- 54:33Speaker 1: but there's nothing to worry about because he's not sleeping
- 54:36Speaker 1: with her. I believed him because he spends quality time
- 54:40Speaker 1: with me every day. I did a little research and
- 54:44Speaker 1: found out who the woman is, and I asked her
- 54:47Speaker 1: to meet with me so we could meet and talk.
- 54:49Speaker 1: The woman confirmed what my man told me. She said,
- 54:53Speaker 1: there's nothing to worry about. She does not want my man.
- 54:57Speaker 1: But after my visit with her, she has started to
- 54:59Speaker 1: make my man's life a living hell. When she would
- 55:02Speaker 1: call him, he would put her on speaker phone so
- 55:05Speaker 1: I could hear her her ranting and raving and telling
- 55:08Speaker 1: him that she should stop. She should stop calling and
- 55:12Speaker 1: leave him alone. That's what he would be telling her.
- 55:15Speaker 1: She has told him each time that she is not
- 55:17Speaker 1: going anywhere and will always be a part of our lives.
- 55:21Speaker 1: This woman started stalking him, sending him new pictures of
- 55:25Speaker 1: herself and telling him that she will pop up at
- 55:28Speaker 1: the house whenever she wants to. Now he's saying that
- 55:32Speaker 1: we need to take a short break so he can
- 55:34Speaker 1: calm her down and make her go away. I love
- 55:37Speaker 1: him and I'm trying to be patient. But now I
- 55:40Speaker 1: may see him once a week. I don't know if
- 55:43Speaker 1: he's just pushing me away slowly so he can be
- 55:46Speaker 1: with her, or if he plans to come back to
- 55:48Speaker 1: me when the coast is clear. What do you think?
- 55:51Speaker 1: Should I hold on a little longer or move on?
- 55:54Speaker 1: Please advise? Move on? Okay, you gotta move on. What
- 55:58Speaker 1: do you mean when the coast is clear? Uh, he
- 56:02Speaker 1: take a short break so he can calm her down
- 56:05Speaker 1: and make her go away. What do those things mean?
- 56:08Speaker 1: You love him and you're trying to be patient, but
- 56:10Speaker 1: now you only see him once a week. Uh. Yeah,
- 56:13Speaker 1: he's pushing you away because she's not going anywhere. She
- 56:17Speaker 1: said that. Uh he was. She let allowed him, it
- 56:19Speaker 1: looks like, to be with you for a little bit
- 56:21Speaker 1: of time until she started clowning. She already knew this,
- 56:25Speaker 1: She's done this before. Whoever she is? And who is
- 56:28Speaker 1: she anyway? And what is she to him? You met
- 56:31Speaker 1: with her, but you didn't even find that out. Is
- 56:33Speaker 1: she the mother of his child? Is baby mama? Is
- 56:36Speaker 1: she an ex? Is she his current girlfriend? What is she?
- 56:39Speaker 1: You never found that out? You never mentioned that in
- 56:42Speaker 1: the letter. So yeah, this looks this has trouble written
- 56:45Speaker 1: for you written all over it. She sounds crazy, she's
- 56:49Speaker 1: stalking him, doing all that, and he can't control this woman.
- 56:52Speaker 1: He can't control her. So if you marry him, it's
- 56:55Speaker 1: going to be a bigger mess than it already is.
- 56:59Speaker 1: So yes, please move on and do it now. Steve, Well, Well,
- 57:06Speaker 1: where well, we got a situation here. Yeah, we're dealing
- 57:14Speaker 1: with a nut case. Now I'm gonna show you some
- 57:19Speaker 1: strangeness that I discovered in this matter. It ain't always
- 57:23Speaker 1: start good. Been in a relationship, treat you like a queen.
- 57:28Speaker 1: I knew he was the one right when I was
- 57:32Speaker 1: ready to get married again. Skeletons in your closet. It's
- 57:39Speaker 1: to come outside having a dad time night, ma'am. I've
- 57:49Speaker 1: always been my biggest feel Skeletons in your clothes. Everybody
- 57:58Speaker 1: got some. He had a bunch. He admitted that there
- 58:04Speaker 1: was this woman that has been in his life for
- 58:07Speaker 1: many years, but there's nothing to worry about because he
- 58:10Speaker 1: ain't sleeping with him. Well what she's been doing in
- 58:14Speaker 1: his life? See, you can't just be in my life
- 58:18Speaker 1: and just be in it. What a what are you
- 58:23Speaker 1: in it? Fall? I believed to him because he spends
- 58:28Speaker 1: quality time with me every day. So our did little research.
- 58:33Speaker 1: Come on, this is what women do? Ye? As she
- 58:36Speaker 1: found out some things, she found out who the woman is.
- 58:43Speaker 1: I asked her to meet with me so we could
- 58:46Speaker 1: meet and talk. The woman confirmed what my man told me.
- 58:51Speaker 1: She said there's nothing to worry about. She does not
- 58:53Speaker 1: want my man not listen to me. What happened was
- 58:59Speaker 1: she talked all him that she was going to meet
- 59:02Speaker 1: with you. He said, listen, we're gonna play this off now,
- 59:08Speaker 1: so make sure you say this, this, this, and this,
- 59:11Speaker 1: and That's exactly what she did. But then after your
- 59:15Speaker 1: visit with her, she started to make my man's life
- 59:19Speaker 1: a living head. The only way she can do that
- 59:23Speaker 1: is she got something on him. When she would call him,
- 59:28Speaker 1: he would put on speaking phones so I could hear
- 59:30Speaker 1: her renting and raven and telling him and telling her
- 59:34Speaker 1: that she would not telling him. Tell that will make
- 59:38Speaker 1: no sense. Hear her renting and raven oh, and him
- 59:41Speaker 1: telling her that she should stop calling and leave him alone.
- 59:46Speaker 1: She has told him each time she ain't going nowhere
- 59:50Speaker 1: and will always be a part of our lives. This
- 59:54Speaker 1: lady is a nutcase. Nut case. She started stalking him,
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: sending him new pictures of herself, telling him that she's
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: gonna pop up at the house whenever she won't. Well, now,
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: listen to this, your sister, I'm assuming that wrote this letter.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: I'm assuming Jesus is a sister because you know. But
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: let me say this. She said she's gonna pop up
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: at the house anytime she won't. White women don't do that.
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: What they don't tell you they're coming. White women don't
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: tell you they're coming. They show up with the police.
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: That's her arrest her his head. Yes, there was a
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: terrorist threat. But now your sister, she says she's gonna
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: pop up. She she will pop up at the whenever
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: she wants to. She can't prop up a one damn time,
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: because you're gonna have to make her promise pop up
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: over here if you want to, did it be your
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: last damn pop up? See, you gotta count on some
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: of these threats. We'll be back in twenty three after
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: the hour with part two of Steve's response Strawberry Letter.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: For today's subject, she said she's not going anywhere. Right
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: after this, you're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Steve,
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: let's recap today's strawberry letter and uh, part two of
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: your response subjects. She said she's not going anywhere. Well,
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: she said she ain't going anywhere because she then had
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: a relationship with her dude that they're supposed to get
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: married and things. Uh, little skeleton came out found out
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: he's been dealing with this woman for years. She did
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: research asked a woman to meet with him. They met,
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: she talked, she confirmed with a man, said that they're
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: not have another fan together. But after that she started
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: harassing and stalking your man, sending him naked pictures and everything,
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: and told him that she gonna always be a part
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: of y'all's life and she will pop up at your
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: house whenever she feels like. You got one damn time
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: to pop up over here. It'll be your last pop u. Yes, yes,
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: pop your ass up. If you won't to see you
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: gotta talked to nutcases, well, you gotta give them, you
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: gotta give them their information back. Yeah, send another naked
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: picture over here with your fat as. Yeah, you gotta
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: insult she sent the neat picture. Gotta let her know
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: that her man, that you're her man, showed you the picture,
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: showed her the picture, So you gotta be insulted. See
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: when people come at you like that, you gotta just
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: slap him back down. Okay, do another one, say ugly
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: but if she just let's see how that sounds. Yeah,
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: but surely don't encourage that. That's not boy ignorant mess.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: Don't encourage that. Have you listen to your plante? Steve
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: he's hosted ready to love. Now he's changing. I do
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: that on sade that we're doing this during the day.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: Tell him to change. Okay, okay, yeah, she has told
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: me time is she not going anywhere. You ain't got
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: to go nowhere, but you're gonna get the hell off
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: away from here. Your ugly as he damn that threw
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: up when we were sitting up there talking. Won't started
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: stalking him, sending neked pitch is what her wide ain't
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: telling him. She's gonna pop up at the house. You're
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: gonna roll up, but you ain't gonna roll off now,
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: he says. We need to take a short break so
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: he can calm her down and make her go away.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: She's so crazy. He needs some time off. He got
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: to go sit with her, get her back down. This
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: woman though some type of medication because he let me
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: take some time. Let me get back over here and
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: talk to him. Get her right back where our head.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: When y'all met, she got off of Mad's and then
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: here she comes. I need to go down, calming down,
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: she says. I love him and I'm trying to be patient.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: But now I may see him once a week. I
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: don't know if he's just pushing me away slowly so
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: he can be with her if he plays to come
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: back to me when the coast is clear. Who when
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: you come when you in a relationship and you can't
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: go back to the coast? This clip? What there has
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: been some shooting that we are? Let him ask you
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: something around your house? At any point? Has there been
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: any crime tape so for the coast had to be clipped?
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: Is there a chalk outline of a body in your driveway?
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: You gotta wait till the coast is clip? That's what
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: do you think? Should I hold on a little long?
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: Gonna move on? Please? Well, you could sit there and
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: he comes by once a week because he asked you
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: to let him do that, and you let him do it.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: But what I don't understand is let's taking so long
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: for him to come a person down that he's not
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: having sex with See, if I'm not having sex with
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: you a matter of fact, you ain't got to calm down, steed,
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: you do. If I'm not having sex with you, you
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: ain't got to know me. You ain't got to calm down?
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: What about to make her go away? Hard? That was
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: kind of scary? What you mean he says, you know,
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: just like you said. Now he's saying that we need
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: to take a short break so he can calm her
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: down like you just said, and make her go away. Now,
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: it's a couple of things you need to check on it,
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: because just make her go away could be dangerous. Have
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: you looked in the garage? Do you see a robot?
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: What's the I'm just just stay with me. Check she
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: bought a lot of garbage bags? Garbage bags? Check gob
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: is bad. Do you see the stuff called waterproof duct tape?
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: Waterproof duct tape? Check? Oh? Over there by the boat
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: leaning up against the wall. Do you see any boulders
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: or large cylinder ricks? Check it's in the burl out
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: in the in the garage there, I'm right there, burlap. Check?
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: Is there a new saw laying round? Uh? Right there?
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: You see that? Check his computer search the search engine.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: Just type in killing somebody with a boat, rocks and
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: saw right there? Struct how to Oh my god? Check
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: he might be getting rid of her. That it's this
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: make her go away? So look out at that garage, rowboat,
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: duct tate, chain, saul, hefty bags, burnout rocks. Oh yeahs
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: all of it right? All right? Look we gotta get
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: out of here. Steve. Please email us or Instagram. What's

- 1:25:44Speaker 1: them to win. I'm going with the Titans. Nervous alright,
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: I ain't gonna do that to him. It's gonna be
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: hurt this week. Don't do this. I was trying to say,
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: thank you, we appreciate you. Peppin. All right, this is
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: what it sounds that when pimps crap I talked to Jr. Alright, Peppin,
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: we'll be back with more of the Steve Harvey Morning
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: Show right after this. You're listening to the Steve Harvey
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: Morning Show. Oprah Winfrey was in Georgia yesterday. She was
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: campaigning for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacy Abrams. Take a listen
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: as Oprah talked about why she votes, Take a listen.
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: I'm here today because, like a lot of young people,
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: I didn't take voting voting seriously until around my mid twenties.
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: And around my mid twenties I had had the had
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: the privilege of hearing Reverend Otis Moss Junior, who's a
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: preacher y'all know him, preacher, preacher in in in in
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: in Cleveland, Ohio, and I heard him tell the story
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: of his father of Otis Moss, Sr. Who right here
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: in Georgia's Truth County, got up in the morning and
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: put on his only suit and his best tie, and
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: he walked six miles to the voting pole location he
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: was told to go to in Lagrange, and when he
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: got there, after walking six miles in his good suit
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: and tie, they said, boy, you at the wrong place.
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: You're at the wrong place. You need to go over
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: to Mountville. So he walked another six miles to Mountville
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: and when he got there, they said, boy, you at
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: the wrong place. You need to go to the Rose
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: Months School. And I picture him walking from dawn to
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: dusk in his suit, his feet tired, getting to the
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: Rose Month School and they say, boy, you too late.
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: The poles are closed. And he never had a chance
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: to vote. By the time the next election came around,
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: he had died. So when I go to the polls
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: and I cast my ballot, I cast it for a
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: man I never knew. I cast it for Otis Moss Senior,
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: who walked eighteen miles one day just for the chance
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: to vote. And when I go into the polls, I
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: cast the vote for my grandmother, had him made Lee,
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: who died in nineteen sixty three before the Voting Rights
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: Act of nine and never had a chance to vote.
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: I vote for her. And when I stand in the polls,
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: I do what my Angelou says. I come as one,
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: but I stand as ten thousands for all those who
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: paid the way that we might have the right to vote,
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: and for anybody here who has an ancestor who didn't
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: have the right to vote. And you are choosing not
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: to vote wherever you are in this state, in this country,
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: you are dishonoring your family. You are disrespecting and disregarding
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: their legacy, their suffering, and their dreams when you don't vote.
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: So honor your legacy. Honor your legacy, Honor your right
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: to citizenship in this which is the greatest country in
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: the world, the greatest country in the world. And the
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: right to vote is like like like the crown. We
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: all get to where Maya used to say, Baby, your
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: crown has been paid for us. So put it on
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: your head and wear it. Come on, if you don't
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: understand that, you don't get that, there's something's wrong with you.
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: All right, coming up, last break of the day on
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: this Friday. It's been a good day, it's been a
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: good week. We'll be back with Steve and his closing
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: remarks right after this at forty nine, after the hour
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: you're listening to show. All right, here we are Steve,
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: last break of the day for this beautiful Friday. Take
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: us into the weekend with some lovely inspiring closing remarks.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: Let's go all right, um. I chose this one today
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: because I think it's important for people to understand this.
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: You know, comparing yourself to other people's success. It's very
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: dangerous because it puts you in a position I'm never
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: really paying close enough attention to where you are. It's
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: not you should not rate your success on the success
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: of other people. I'll tell you why. Let me give
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: you a saying that's in a proverb. I'm I'm, I'm
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: paraphrasing a proverb. Success isn't how far you got, but
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: the distance you travel from where you started. Listen to me,
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: Success isn't how far you got, but the distance you
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: travel from where you started. See, some people don't know
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: how to measure their success. If you keep putting it
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: up against somebody else, somebody else maybe have been doing
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: it longer than you, somebody else may have another gift
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: of talent than you. If you're always comparing yourself to
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: somebody else, you're gonna come up short, and you'll never
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: really realize that you too have your own level of success,
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: and you should relish in that. You should be proud
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: in that. You should show gratitude in that. But if
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: you all ways looking at what somebody else is doing,
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: you ain't gonna ever be happy with yourself. And that's
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: a miserable position to put yourself in. Success is not
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: how far you got, but the distance you travel from
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: where you started. You've heard old people say in church,
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: I ain't where I wanna be, but I think the Lord,
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: I ain't where I was. So you gotta look at
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: it like that. You gotta constantly take inventory of your
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: life that way. That's why I say all the time,
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: listen to me. Life is not a game. It's a contest.
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: See if you look at life as a game. If
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: I look at life as a game, and I look
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: at Oprah Winfreed or Tyler Perry, and I look at
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: how much money they make, then it's a game and
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: I consider them winning. If I consider Oprah winning or
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: Tyler winning, then guess what I must be losing. I
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: must be losing because I'm not where they are. So
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: if life were a game aims have winners and losers,
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: you can't look at life like that that life that
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: life ain't filled with winners and losers. If I look
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: at where I started, and I look at where I've
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: gotten to I win. That's why I say life ain't
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: the game. Life is a contest. See, a contest is different.
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: You ever been to the fan. Everybody can get a
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: blue ribbon at the fan. You just gotta get in
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: your right category. Somebody to get the blue ribbon for
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: biggest squash. Somebody get the blue ribbon for best server.
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: Somebody to get the best best can corn. Somebody to
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: get a blue ribbon with the best sheep, Somebody to
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: get a blue ribbon with the fattest hug, Somebody to
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: get a blue ribbon for making the best apples. So
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: just get in your lane and get your blue ribbon.
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: Quit tripping because you ain't winning against somebody else. Life
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: in the game. It's a contest. Everybody can get their
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: own blue ribbon. Stop comparing yourself to everybody else. If
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: I keep looking at open went from, man, I might
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: be sad for a long time. Man. I mean so
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: if I look in my life from where I started,
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: from from stuttering, from flunking out of school, from losing
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: everything I've OneD twice, from being homeless, and why I'm
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: at now, I'm a success. If you look at your life.
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: Let's just look at your life where you started from.
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: Say you got a supervisory position down at the post office,
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: you're a success. What about when you wasn't working at
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: all and now you drive a truck. But remember when
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: you didn't have no job. Remember when you know your
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: brother says that you're working. You're a success. You're a
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: success man, because life ain't a game. It's a contest.
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: The only person you in it with is yourself. You
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: ain't in it with Oprah and Tyler. They're in a
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: whole another land. They in another category. Get in your category.
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: Get your blue ribbon at what you can get A
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: blue ribbon in life is not a game. It's a contest.
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: You can blue ribbon in any category. You can come
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: up with the Swedish sugar, you can come up with
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: the best haircut, you can come up with the best
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: mode lawn. You can come up with the prettiest tractor.
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: You can go down there with the biggest pumpkin. Just
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: go get your blue ribbon in life, man, Stop competing
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: against other people. Success ain't how far you got, it's
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: the distance you travel from where you started. Those are
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: my clothing who drop the mic baby, drop, hold on,
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: hold on, I gotta get a drop you drop, there's
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: really silver wagg I know y'all heard that. I started
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: to So, Steve, how do you? How do you come
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: up with these? I just I just think of my life,
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: all the lessons I've learned. I've learned all these lessons.
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: I got sixty one years of grinding and hustling, And
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: in my sixty one years of grinding and hustling, I've
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: recorded lessons in my mind. And uh, I just think, man,
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: that if I share them with people, Like I'm trying
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: to come out with this app where I can share
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: it with people, where people can take these and I'm
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: gonna give it a real catchy name. But you like
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: that one? No, I don't let me drop those on
