- 2:02Speaker 1: will good morning everybody you're listening to the voice, now,
- 2:06Speaker 1: come on dig me one and only. Steve Harvey got
- 2:09Speaker 1: a radio show one more time partner, Steve Harvey got
- 2:12Speaker 1: a radio show. Man. How amazing is that? How good
- 2:20Speaker 1: has God been to me? How good has He been
- 2:24Speaker 1: to you? Just check yourself sometimes, just sit up, Just
- 2:29Speaker 1: let's run a survey. Just look at your life, where
- 2:31Speaker 1: it's at. It might not be where you wanted to be,
- 2:34Speaker 1: but that's probably some decisions you made. But really, though,
- 2:38Speaker 1: in spite of all the crazy mistakes I didn't made,
- 2:42Speaker 1: I mean, man, I look back at some of the
- 2:46Speaker 1: decisions I didn't came up with and and man, it's
- 2:48Speaker 1: it's it's just amazing. He let me live. I mean,
- 2:52Speaker 1: it's it's and and and to exist the way I exist,
- 2:55Speaker 1: that's nothing but grace, mercy, favor all that is. That's
- 3:00Speaker 1: my mama praying for me when I wasn't praying for myself.
- 3:03Speaker 1: It had to be it, because, man, I can truly
- 3:05Speaker 1: tell you I have made enough mistakes man, stuff you
- 3:09Speaker 1: would never even know about, and recovered from them all
- 3:15Speaker 1: you can too, And I don't care what you've done.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Marvin Sapp has a song out that says he saw
- 3:21Speaker 1: the best in me when everyone else around me could
- 3:25Speaker 1: only see the worst in me. You know that that's
- 3:29Speaker 1: an important song man especially. You know. I want to
- 3:33Speaker 1: talk to men today because man, being a man is
- 3:40Speaker 1: so so difficult. Please know it has been my quest
- 3:46Speaker 1: ever since I was a little boy. My father had
- 3:49Speaker 1: one ambition, son, I don't care what you do both.
- 3:54Speaker 1: When I get through raising you, you will be a man.
- 3:57Speaker 1: That's all I want you to be. And he never
- 3:59Speaker 1: cared what I do it for a living, and it
- 4:01Speaker 1: never made a difference to him. You're going to be
- 4:03Speaker 1: a man. Manhood is difficult. Now, ladies, just listening to this,
- 4:07Speaker 1: I'm not saying womanhood ain't. I don't know what it
- 4:11Speaker 1: takes to be a woman, so you know, but I
- 4:14Speaker 1: do know exactly what it takes to be a man.
- 4:17Speaker 1: So you know, sometimes when you talk to people on
- 4:19Speaker 1: the radio, you have to preface things because people are
- 4:22Speaker 1: just go he trying to make it look like womanhood. Ain't. No,
- 4:25Speaker 1: That's not what I'm doing. I'm just talking to men
- 4:28Speaker 1: today to explain to them that damned by the self
- 4:31Speaker 1: and struggling trying to figure this thing out, that you
- 4:34Speaker 1: are not alone in your quest for manhood. That is difficult,
- 4:38Speaker 1: but I gotta I gotta tell you, man manhood is
- 4:43Speaker 1: that kind of difficult, and it becomes even more compounded
- 4:47Speaker 1: if a young boy does not have a male role model.
- 4:51Speaker 1: I've said it a thousand times. I'll say it again.
- 4:54Speaker 1: A young boy without a male role model is like
- 4:57Speaker 1: an explorer without a map. While I have a suggestion
- 5:01Speaker 1: for everybody that's struggling with manhood and all of the
- 5:04Speaker 1: men out there that are men, this messages for all
- 5:07Speaker 1: of us, and it's for me too. You know. I
- 5:10Speaker 1: was listening to George Myers the other day and she
- 5:14Speaker 1: made a statement, she said, sometimes you gotta do the
- 5:17Speaker 1: right thing, even when it feels wrong. You know, one
- 5:21Speaker 1: of the difficulties of manhood is pure pressure and the
- 5:28Speaker 1: misguided principles of manhood. See what God wants us to
- 5:33Speaker 1: be as men and what we believe manhood is sometimes
- 5:38Speaker 1: two different things. Give you an example. I wrote this
- 5:42Speaker 1: book for women, right and I was telling them the
- 5:45Speaker 1: three ways that a man shows his love, and I
- 5:48Speaker 1: call him three pas. We profess, we protect, and we provide.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Every man who is a man, that's how he exhibits love.
- 5:58Speaker 1: When I talkie talkie comforting with our great nurturists. But
- 6:02Speaker 1: when it comes down to to it, what we all
- 6:04Speaker 1: want to do, what is in our dad DNA, is
- 6:07Speaker 1: to profess our love for something you as a woman,
- 6:10Speaker 1: to protect you as a woman, and to provide for
- 6:13Speaker 1: you as a woman. That's in our DNA. Now, sometimes
- 6:16Speaker 1: that gets messed up, and I'll give you an example.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Sometimes when a boy doesn't have the proper, real role
- 6:23Speaker 1: model in his life, he takes that principle of love
- 6:26Speaker 1: that we all possessing us every man, the professing part,
- 6:28Speaker 1: the protecting and in the providing part, and we misplay it.
- 6:33Speaker 1: That's why gangs exist. Gangs exist off those three principles.
- 6:39Speaker 1: What's the first thing a gang member do. He professed,
- 6:42Speaker 1: he claim a hood. That's the first thing you do.
- 6:44Speaker 1: This is my neighborhood. I'm duce's trade, I'm triple h,
- 6:48Speaker 1: I'm due de dude, I'm purple, I'm red, I'm blue.
- 6:51Speaker 1: The first thing they do is claim. That's professing. That's
- 6:54Speaker 1: how we show our love. But it's misguided though. Now
- 6:58Speaker 1: we're professing something that ain't even good for us. Your hood,
- 7:02Speaker 1: your game, your click. Now, guess what Now we got
- 7:06Speaker 1: to protect it. So now as a protection part of
- 7:11Speaker 1: our love, here we go. You come down here, we're
- 7:14Speaker 1: gonna do this to you. You go over there, they're
- 7:17Speaker 1: gonna do that to you. You protect your hood, This
- 7:20Speaker 1: your turf, this all you got. You ain't nobody coming
- 7:22Speaker 1: down here with blue owned. Can't nobody come over here
- 7:24Speaker 1: with red on. You can't come over here with purple on.
- 7:26Speaker 1: You can't come over here with black and gold on.
- 7:28Speaker 1: And we and we protect that because that's in our DNA.
- 7:32Speaker 1: And then what's the third thing we provide? So guess
- 7:35Speaker 1: what the game need money? Guess what we do. We're
- 7:38Speaker 1: selling drugs, we're selling women, we're selling guns. It go
- 7:44Speaker 1: back to the same thing, man, I don't know how
- 7:46Speaker 1: God gave it to me that way when I was
- 7:48Speaker 1: writing a book, but he showed it to me along
- 7:50Speaker 1: the way. That's how men love well. When you don't
- 7:52Speaker 1: have a role model in your life. Guess what, Now
- 7:55Speaker 1: that love is misplaced, it's misguided, it's off track. Ain't
- 7:59Speaker 1: no man told you that. Really you're supposed to take
- 8:01Speaker 1: this love and give it to a woman. You're really
- 8:03Speaker 1: supposed to profess, protect and provide for a woman, not
- 8:07Speaker 1: your gang set. Now you're professing your hood, wrapping a color,
- 8:12Speaker 1: you protecting your territory, shooting people driving by coming over
- 8:15Speaker 1: you on your street, and then you provide. Now you
- 8:17Speaker 1: are here selling drugs and guns for the same thing.
- 8:20Speaker 1: When a boy does not have a male role model,
- 8:23Speaker 1: he has a misguided way of looking at manhood. Here's
- 8:28Speaker 1: a deal. See, God created all of us in his image.
- 8:32Speaker 1: That means he's put some of our DNA in him.
- 8:35Speaker 1: That's why it's in your DNA to profess, protect, and provide,
- 8:39Speaker 1: because guess what, that's what God do for us, because
- 8:42Speaker 1: we're his children. I'm just talking to men right now.
- 8:47Speaker 1: I'm just telling you, man, I had to wake up
- 8:48Speaker 1: about five years ago. I wasn't doing what God wanted
- 8:52Speaker 1: me to do. And then he shook me. He said, man,
- 8:55Speaker 1: I'm gonna bring about some changes in your life. I'm
- 8:57Speaker 1: gonna cause some things to happen that's gonna put you
- 9:00Speaker 1: in a position. And this time you're gonna listen to me,
- 9:03Speaker 1: because if you don't, you're gonna keep living in this
- 9:06Speaker 1: pain you've been in. But you put yourself in this pain.
- 9:09Speaker 1: I own no blame to no one else but myself.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Please know, I know that. And that's how you really
- 9:15Speaker 1: get to manhood when you figure out what you hadn't
- 9:18Speaker 1: done wrong. You can't blame this on none of your
- 9:20Speaker 1: exes because you are a man. You can't go my
- 9:22Speaker 1: ex dear this. No, No, you're a man, pardner. You
- 9:25Speaker 1: got to take responsibility for yours and yours alone. If
- 9:29Speaker 1: you got kids, you got to get to them some
- 9:32Speaker 1: kind of way. Write him a letter, send them the money.
- 9:35Speaker 1: If she won't let you see it, for the money, whatever,
- 9:37Speaker 1: send them money to a mama. Do what you're supposed
- 9:40Speaker 1: to do as a man. Do what God want you
- 9:43Speaker 1: to do, man, because he's not letting us off the
- 9:46Speaker 1: hook for what we're supposed to be just because you
- 9:49Speaker 1: ain't doing it, and if you do it, you turn
- 9:51Speaker 1: your life around. Just holding that the fellas today that
- 9:54Speaker 1: saw sorry about that. You're listening. Ladies and gentlemen, man

- 13:54Speaker 1: I was in uh Abu Dhabi for Thanksgiving. My family
- 13:59Speaker 1: actually got in a little later than I did. So
- 14:01Speaker 1: we had Thanksgiving dinner. Uh that night I arranged it
- 14:07Speaker 1: and so, um, well there was no turkey this year. Uh.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Instead we had duck. Oh my mom, I loved girl dressing.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Uh it was no duck dressing the duck. It was
- 14:28Speaker 1: no duck dressing. Sherleys, they don't really have that stuff.
- 14:32Speaker 1: I've never had. Do you stuff a duck like you're doing? No?
- 14:36Speaker 1: You know, I mean I probably somebody has, but we didn't.
- 14:40Speaker 1: We had a restaurant called Ho Kasan. That was it.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Ain't you know, Jay, that has a lot to do
- 14:52Speaker 1: with your diabetes. Uh, get called that's called that? Ain't

- 15:37Speaker 1: definitely like the way you ease it to. I'm not that.
- 15:45Speaker 1: One more question, does anybody yellow give me the death leg?
- 15:49Speaker 1: Do anybody do that? Anybody do that? I got that leg? No? No,
- 15:55Speaker 1: because it's all cut when it comes to the table. Okay,
- 15:59Speaker 1: that ain't a duck where you called? No, bring it
- 16:06Speaker 1: to the table. Its beautiful, But they slice and help
- 16:09Speaker 1: me said stupid. Okay, let me just let me explain
- 16:23Speaker 1: something to ali'all. Hey wait, wait, hold on, Jake, wait
- 16:27Speaker 1: say that what you said, Steve? I just said we
- 16:30Speaker 1: had to deal with all this When he was sick.
- 16:38Speaker 1: He was praying a lot. Go ahead, I can act
- 16:46Speaker 1: like a real damn sickly And what was me? Now?
- 16:50Speaker 1: Which one you won't? Which one you won't? I like
- 16:55Speaker 1: the ignorant. Yeah, yeah, we could be ignorant all day
- 17:02Speaker 1: if you got you know, we got. Hey, man, let
- 17:10Speaker 1: me tell you something. Man, this bro, this this is
- 17:12Speaker 1: not a joke. But I had a relative that got
- 17:15Speaker 1: put in hospital. You know, it's really really sad. You know,
- 17:18Speaker 1: I went to see him, and you know, it's really
- 17:20Speaker 1: a sad situation, and you know, he just he did
- 17:26Speaker 1: everything in his power to make everybody feel as bad
- 17:31Speaker 1: as they could when they came over, and I was like, okay, dog,
- 17:35Speaker 1: I mean I understand. I don't know. I don't understand,
- 17:38Speaker 1: but man, I'm just sorry you going through this. Man.
- 17:41Speaker 1: You know, man, what you saw about you still living?
- 17:47Speaker 1: I said, I mean, I mean you still living too. Yeah,
- 17:51Speaker 1: but it could be in a day now. I'm not
- 17:55Speaker 1: in hospitals, but it could be any day for me too.
- 17:59Speaker 1: I mean, you know, we don't all know. You know,
- 18:01Speaker 1: I was I was trying to say something, you know,
- 18:03Speaker 1: make it a little bit more encouraging. He wasn't having it,
- 18:07Speaker 1: and so I just said all right, man. Hell So,
- 18:10Speaker 1: after about thirty minutes of trying to convince him, I
- 18:13Speaker 1: just went on let him have it. He said, well
- 18:16Speaker 1: any day now, say where it could be any minute? Yeah,
- 18:22Speaker 1: none of that. Yeah, you know, since we just ain't
- 18:25Speaker 1: fitting the beat, we're not here for encouragement. Any day now,
- 18:29Speaker 1: it could be any minute. Wow, sick, don't don't I shout,
- 18:35Speaker 1: feel bad today and probably can't be no worse to
- 18:42Speaker 1: go ahead. Steve is not the one to have at
- 18:46Speaker 1: a hospital. He's not He's not the guy to have it.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Steve hain't want to call if you see he not
- 18:53Speaker 1: the one to call you if you see none of that.
- 18:56Speaker 1: He's not the one to see you a call or general.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Well he checked on you. Yeah, but then you don't
- 19:02Speaker 1: want to hear it, you know, but it don't be
- 19:04Speaker 1: low jay. He didn't hear you breathing. You're good, You're good,
- 19:10Speaker 1: straight cool, we are called me and hung up on me.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I was shocked. In the sixth celle Cris, I said, hello,
- 19:19Speaker 1: you okay, I think you're okay. Don't text back. That's
- 19:22Speaker 1: what he takes me. Yeah, yeah, you're not the one.
- 19:26Speaker 1: You ain't okay, please don't text me. But all of
- 19:29Speaker 1: us who know Steve know that that's really good. Yeah,
- 19:32Speaker 1: that's pretty good. That's really good for him. Yeah, that's
- 19:36Speaker 1: like coming to the hospital bed and sitting with you
- 19:39Speaker 1: for Steve. Yeah, because he called me and was like,
- 19:42Speaker 1: did you have a baby in this is scheduling it.
- 19:46Speaker 1: But it's also a bad call because I was I
- 19:50Speaker 1: didn't have the six cell crisis and had just hung
- 19:53Speaker 1: up and the nurse took my phone and says, Steve
- 19:55Speaker 1: Harva COLLEGI, Uh, yeah, but I need his medicine. But
- 20:00Speaker 1: you're not going to hear the hospital Steve Harvey's in
- 20:03Speaker 1: the libby waiting to see but a phone call the
- 20:10Speaker 1: equivalent of that. Yeah. Hey, the reason I don't surprise
- 20:14Speaker 1: people at the hospital because I don't think both of
- 20:16Speaker 1: us need to be surprised. All right, guys, Coming up next,
- 20:26Speaker 1: it is Monday, the Monday after Thanksgiving too. Coming up
- 20:29Speaker 1: Reverend Motown and Deacon death Jam. Right after this, you're
- 20:32Speaker 1: listening to the Steven Show coming up at the top
- 20:37Speaker 1: of the hour, guys, and entertainment news people are really
- 20:39Speaker 1: buzzing about the movie Queen and Slim and they should
- 20:43Speaker 1: be a great movie. Plus miss Anne is standing by
- 20:47Speaker 1: with today's national news and at the top of the
- 20:50Speaker 1: hour that's coming up. But right now it is Monday,
- 20:54Speaker 1: and it's after Thanksgiving. We all know that first Monday
- 20:57Speaker 1: after Thanksgiving. Reverend Motown Dickon def jam in the building
- 21:00Speaker 1: today with church complaints, probably a lot of them today.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Huh from thank we we him fresh awful thanks Why
- 21:20Speaker 1: the world on a Monday, after a week in a
- 21:25Speaker 1: proprietory Thanksgiving. Why in the world would we have church complaints?
- 21:34Speaker 1: That is what is most mystable gave us to me.
- 21:38Speaker 1: But we would issue arresputorial sanction of complaints on a
- 21:47Speaker 1: day as gritoriously goddantuously gratial food. Do it? Come on, man,
- 22:06Speaker 1: come old deacon, all right, past it, let's get on
- 22:10Speaker 1: down too. We got a few problems with these some
- 22:13Speaker 1: of these members. Brother oldest Yeah, yeah, I'm right here,
- 22:23Speaker 1: Brother Oldest Miller's stomach is being pumped out. From my understanding,
- 22:27Speaker 1: he ate five pounds of dressing without cranberry sauce. Are
- 22:31Speaker 1: any of the ghiblit gravy. It's fifteen hundred dollars to
- 22:34Speaker 1: get his stomach pumped, and he needs the church help
- 22:38Speaker 1: the church. Church is not gonna help it this. It's
- 22:42Speaker 1: just a matter of time. It's called wait and see.
- 22:46Speaker 1: When he stopped up path and it has a move
- 22:48Speaker 1: since stairsday, it's week and whoa, I will said the
- 23:00Speaker 1: Porneil over there, the handyman at the church and reinforcing
- 23:04Speaker 1: the towe rap. Once he sits down there and it
- 23:10Speaker 1: does start to come, it's gonna be jammed and it's
- 23:13Speaker 1: gonna pull extra hard on that towel rap. I will
- 23:16Speaker 1: send brother Partneil over the rein fourth time. But there
- 23:19Speaker 1: will be no fifteen hundred dollars for pumping his father.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Nothing shouldn't have ate all that damn dressing ain't the
- 23:30Speaker 1: whole trade by yourself. So what do you want us
- 23:36Speaker 1: to do? Can you set your white ass down there
- 23:39Speaker 1: and ate? And then there nobody else hadn't dressed. If
- 23:46Speaker 1: what he gets because his wife sent me a plate
- 23:51Speaker 1: and it didn't have a spooner dressing on it. That's
- 23:59Speaker 1: that we have another issue. Sister Doris say got stabbed
- 24:09Speaker 1: on Thursday for making for making peach cobblin putting blueberries
- 24:13Speaker 1: in it. She would stabbed at the dent table by
- 24:16Speaker 1: her mother Gritchin watching and that medical bill is twenty
- 24:20Speaker 1: eight hundred and the she's looking for help. It's well pass,
- 24:24Speaker 1: We're not paying for that. In the Church by Laws,
- 24:29Speaker 1: paragraph ninety five, section eight clearly states that Peach Cobbler
- 24:37Speaker 1: is for Peaches ruling clearly all able bodied, knowing committed
- 24:45Speaker 1: Black folk know that committed committed, Who have no idea
- 24:52Speaker 1: who did that? Now you say her mama stabbed her? Yeah,
- 24:57Speaker 1: sister gretchen se that's just Oh that got Tamz wrote
- 25:04Speaker 1: all over God right here, all right. I don't know
- 25:13Speaker 1: if you know it's reason that they brought us back.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Let me, I'm trying to the reason that they brought
- 25:18Speaker 1: us back in dollar for both the church go ahead.
- 25:30Speaker 1: We have a problem. We ran him off yesterday passed.
- 25:33Speaker 1: But brother just small Lett was trying to sell left
- 25:36Speaker 1: over Turkey sandwich just after the church yesterday. We stopped
- 25:39Speaker 1: him and he read off time and he gonna sue
- 25:41Speaker 1: us for not allowing him to sell inside that he
- 25:44Speaker 1: had two new African people with him. Well pass, Oh,
- 25:53Speaker 1: we're gonna take advantage of this. Just small Letter came
- 26:01Speaker 1: up with a way to raise money for the building
- 26:03Speaker 1: for we are selling green, she's selling green subway vests.
- 26:16Speaker 1: We've setting a special subway vest and on the pocket
- 26:22Speaker 1: it has a picture of a news on it. A
- 26:29Speaker 1: lot of people is wanting this right here. Collectors like
- 26:33Speaker 1: it's too far sested, But that's what Jesse did. He
- 26:36Speaker 1: cared it too damn Well, we're gonna finish it off
- 26:40Speaker 1: subway vest for sales right after service with a small
- 26:44Speaker 1: news on the pocket and make America great again. Jesse
- 26:53Speaker 1: Maga passed that we have another issue. I don't know
- 26:58Speaker 1: how it happened. I'm assuming this took place on Black Friday.
- 27:00Speaker 1: But we have eighteen flat screens from Walmart now there
- 27:04Speaker 1: in the back of the church. And don't nobody know
- 27:06Speaker 1: where they came from. They are all at sixty some inches. Nice,
- 27:11Speaker 1: we all know where they come from. Oh, brother Jarvis
- 27:18Speaker 1: had come to press service three weeks ago and then
- 27:21Speaker 1: just got out of rikers and had come back home
- 27:26Speaker 1: us come out of rickets and had just come back
- 27:29Speaker 1: home and said that he was praying to be a
- 27:32Speaker 1: change man. If it didn't happen tonight, he was gonna
- 27:35Speaker 1: go back to what he was. Well, it looks like
- 27:38Speaker 1: he's back. We're gonna sell the TVs or for the
- 27:43Speaker 1: building fun also, so now we got Subway vessus with
- 27:48Speaker 1: nooses on them and some sixty inch TV and we're
- 27:53Speaker 1: doing it. We're doing it on next Friday, which is
- 27:57Speaker 1: blacker than Black Friday. All right, thank you, Dick, Jeff,
- 28:08Speaker 1: thank you. Pastor Motown coming up at the top of
- 28:14Speaker 1: the hour and entertainment News, we'll talk about the movies,
- 28:17Speaker 1: and also miss Anne will be up with national news
- 28:20Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening, all right, So here's a
- 28:27Speaker 1: question for you. Did anyone go to the movies over Thanksgiving?
- 28:31Speaker 1: It's a big movie holiday weekend and uh yeah, everyone
- 28:37Speaker 1: on social media Jay is buzzing about Queen and Slim.
- 28:41Speaker 1: I saw it, you saw it. Isn't it excellent? It's
- 28:44Speaker 1: really yes, really really really really good. They're calling it
- 28:49Speaker 1: the Black Bonnie and Clyde. But it's even more than that,
- 28:53Speaker 1: you know, it's more than that. There's a young man
- 28:55Speaker 1: in there who plays the uncle who was in Dead Presidents.
- 28:58Speaker 1: I swear I can't remember his name, Boquine Woodbine. Yeah,
- 29:04Speaker 1: so hilarious in this movie, man, he almost steals so good. Yeah,
- 29:08Speaker 1: it's so good. Yeah. But it's a really good movie,
- 29:11Speaker 1: really good. Yeah. The movie stars Daniel Khaluya from Get
- 29:16Speaker 1: Out We remember him fair Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's a
- 29:21Speaker 1: lead actor in it. And Jody Turner Smith. This is
- 29:24Speaker 1: one of her first big starring roles. Uh uh. She
- 29:28Speaker 1: she plays the queen part. Of course. It made over
- 29:31Speaker 1: fifteen million dollars. It was only Steve get this. It
- 29:34Speaker 1: was only in one thousand, six hundred and ninety theaters
- 29:39Speaker 1: fifteen million dollars um. I'm not sure how much it
- 29:42Speaker 1: costs to make. If if you go to the movies
- 29:45Speaker 1: a lot, you notice that a lot of these movie
- 29:47Speaker 1: houses they will not bring in black movies at all.
- 29:50Speaker 1: They just will not bring them. They want you have
- 29:54Speaker 1: to drive certain places to see certain movies. They don't
- 29:57Speaker 1: want to bring them. They don't want the car. That's
- 29:59Speaker 1: all ways been a lot of the case. Man, they
- 30:02Speaker 1: just don't show black movies and somethings. That's always been
- 30:06Speaker 1: the case. You can't go see Dough with Mike anywhere.
- 30:10Speaker 1: This movie is so good. It's systematic racism which has
- 30:16Speaker 1: always existed. It's not a surprise, really sad for our
- 30:19Speaker 1: country that we are that way though, but it's just
- 30:22Speaker 1: it's just been in place. I mean, it needs to
- 30:26Speaker 1: be changed, but you gotta have a lot of people upset. Yeah.
- 30:29Speaker 1: I mean, if you're gonna go to the movies and
- 30:31Speaker 1: you're gonna have chicken tenders, why can't you have real chicken?
- 30:35Speaker 1: I mean, what's the problems you know if you got
- 30:39Speaker 1: if you got chicken tenders, what is what? But but
- 30:45Speaker 1: Steve just made a poeignant statement about racism. That's what
- 30:48Speaker 1: I'm chicken. You're talking about chicken too, because which because
- 30:53Speaker 1: we would go in and get chicken and not see
- 30:55Speaker 1: the movie. Oh, they're trying to tie this together. Ye're
- 30:59Speaker 1: talking y'all chicken in there like y'all been doing. Really,
- 31:04Speaker 1: it's really embarrassing, poignant moment. That was a moment, somebody,
- 31:15Speaker 1: that's what from that systematic racism again, stematic racism I
- 31:25Speaker 1: have read and then I asked the question if we
- 31:28Speaker 1: can have chicken tenders? The Greasi is right there. We
- 31:36Speaker 1: know how it went. Jay, you don't have to go
- 31:39Speaker 1: back all right? Anyway, you guys, please go check out
- 31:47Speaker 1: Queen and Slim. It's one movie written by Lena Waie
- 31:51Speaker 1: who is so powerful. She is just so talented and
- 31:54Speaker 1: so powerful right there, Um, yeah, she got she she
- 31:59Speaker 1: got the win. Right. Also, check out Harriet. Please don't
- 32:02Speaker 1: forget to go see Harriet. You know a lot of
- 32:04Speaker 1: people are saying they don't want to see Harriet because
- 32:06Speaker 1: it's about slavery and all that. Well, sometimes you need
- 32:09Speaker 1: to see it because we weren't there, and all we
- 32:11Speaker 1: know Harriet. Yeah, and all we know about Harriet is
- 32:14Speaker 1: what's in the history books. Go see the real movie
- 32:18Speaker 1: about chat No, no, so go see the real Harry
- 32:24Speaker 1: Tea Yeah, and twenty one Bridges. Yeah. All right, Uh, Steve,
- 32:28Speaker 1: go ahead. It's time for news, ladies and gentlemen. Miss
- 32:31Speaker 1: Anne Tripp, thank you, Thank you very much, everybody. This
- 32:34Speaker 1: is a trip with the news back from Turkey weekend.
- 32:37Speaker 1: I hope yours was full of love and a lot
- 32:38Speaker 1: of good food. The next phase of impeachment hearings begins
- 32:42Speaker 1: this week. Today, the House Intelligence Committee is to start
- 32:44Speaker 1: putting together it's summary of the findings from its impeachment

- 33:09Speaker 1: what constitutes an impeachable offense. That's going to be on Wednesday.
- 33:13Speaker 1: The ranking Republican on the Judiciary Committee, Doug Collins, is
- 33:17Speaker 1: telling Fox News Sunday that he wants to call a
- 33:19Speaker 1: House Intelligence Committee Chairman he Adam Shift as his first witness.
- 33:23Speaker 1: I really question his veracity and what he's putting in
- 33:26Speaker 1: his report. I question the motives of why he's doing it.
- 33:29Speaker 1: It's easy to hide behind a report, but it's going
- 33:31Speaker 1: to be one another thing to actually get up and
- 33:32Speaker 1: have to answer questions. And the meanwhile, Democrats gave the
- 33:36Speaker 1: President till Friday to decide whether he wants to call
- 33:38Speaker 1: witnesses or present any evidence on his behalf. The White
- 33:41Speaker 1: House says in a letter to the committee chairman that
- 33:43Speaker 1: the President will not participate in any way, not going
- 33:45Speaker 1: to center representative either. Here we go again. Now. A
- 33:49Speaker 1: white woman in Atlanta call the cops the other day
- 33:51Speaker 1: on a black UPS worker YEP, United Parcel Service work
- 33:55Speaker 1: or claiming he looks suspicious because he was walking around
- 33:58Speaker 1: her neighborhood carrying packages. The UPS guy was delivering packages
- 34:02Speaker 1: and in uniform. There was Black Friday, there was Small

- 34:14Speaker 1: you are buying something from a real, legitimate website and
- 34:18Speaker 1: not something that they just put up real quick, because
- 34:20Speaker 1: they do that kind of slick stuff around that time.
- 34:22Speaker 1: The bronze life size statue of Rosa Parks unveiled yesterday
- 34:26Speaker 1: and Montgomery, Alabama, on the sixty fourth anniversary of her
- 34:30Speaker 1: refusal to give up her seat on a bus to
- 34:32Speaker 1: a white man. Sad news journalist garth Reeves, senior civil
- 34:36Speaker 1: rights activists and leader in the black press, has died
- 34:39Speaker 1: at age one hundred. Garth Reeves was the owner and

- 34:44Speaker 1: In fact, that Miami Times was recognized in twenty eleven
- 34:47Speaker 1: as the top black newspaper in the country by the
- 34:50Speaker 1: National Newspaper Publishers Association. And finally, the songwriter who helped
- 34:54Speaker 1: bring Calypso to the US has died. Irving Burgee co

- 45:29Speaker 1: if you don't mind me asking, who's who? Who actually
- 45:32Speaker 1: brings your kids home from school? Uh? Each day? Oh
- 45:37Speaker 1: my mom gets my kids for me and she drops
- 45:40Speaker 1: them off. Okay, wow, okay, okay, Well we have a
- 45:44Speaker 1: we have a bit of a problem. The kids are fine.
- 45:47Speaker 1: There's there's no issue with the kids at all. But
- 45:50Speaker 1: you know, we've had a meeting here at the HLA.
- 45:52Speaker 1: We've been getting some complaints. Uh it seems like your
- 45:56Speaker 1: mother is is uh really speeding down the street real fast,
- 46:02Speaker 1: and you know everyone's complaining about it that you know,
- 46:05Speaker 1: it's a lot of kids walking home from school. And
- 46:08Speaker 1: it seems like your mom is driving real fast when
- 46:11Speaker 1: she's coming down the street to drop your kids off.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Did you know anything about this? Uh? No, not at all.
- 46:18Speaker 1: That doesn't even sound like her. Okay, what type of car? Uh?
- 46:25Speaker 1: Let me ask you this, Natalie. We're we're we're from
- 46:28Speaker 1: what I understand, it is a what kind of car
- 46:32Speaker 1: does your mom had? Is a board escape or something
- 46:35Speaker 1: like that? From a little suv? Does that what your
- 46:37Speaker 1: mom has? Yeah? She has a little red Stuv. Okay,
- 46:43Speaker 1: all right, So the problem is that that that's the
- 46:47Speaker 1: same car. That's the one we're talking about. And it
- 46:50Speaker 1: seems like, you know, your mother is is flying down
- 46:54Speaker 1: the street and she drops the kids off, and when
- 46:56Speaker 1: she leaves, she's flying back out of the neighborhood. And
- 46:59Speaker 1: a couple of times some of the neighbors of toller
- 47:01Speaker 1: to slow down, and you know, I don't know if
- 47:04Speaker 1: she's flicked them off or set something out the window,
- 47:07Speaker 1: you know, but you know, this is stuff that we
- 47:09Speaker 1: just cannot tolerate. Huh. Well, it really doesn't sound like
- 47:13Speaker 1: my mom. But you know, okay, you know what, Natalie,
- 47:17Speaker 1: what we're not gonna do is what you're not gonna
- 47:19Speaker 1: do is act like it's not your mamma. It's your
- 47:21Speaker 1: mother that's doing this. So what we need you to
- 47:24Speaker 1: do is tell your mama to slow up down so
- 47:27Speaker 1: we don't ask problem, all right, because I tried to
- 47:29Speaker 1: be nice with you at first. But if you're gonna
- 47:31Speaker 1: be a denial figured it's not your mamma, then we
- 47:34Speaker 1: got issue. First of all, daring from h O A.
- 47:39Speaker 1: I need you to watch your charls and who you're
- 47:42Speaker 1: talking to, all right. I need you to climb that
- 47:44Speaker 1: all the way down, all right. Time you need to
- 47:48Speaker 1: slow your damn mama down. That's what you need to do.
- 47:51Speaker 1: Slow your mama down the way she's driving. To do
- 47:54Speaker 1: is standing in the middle of the street if she
- 47:56Speaker 1: flying down, and so hopefully she can knock you out
- 47:59Speaker 1: the way. Okay, s don't talk to me like that.
- 48:01Speaker 1: You've been ruined it respectful. I don't ask her if
- 48:04Speaker 1: it's time because I don't think it's hard. But you're
- 48:06Speaker 1: not gonna talk to me like that, okay, So your
- 48:09Speaker 1: mama can just drive down the streets and I can
- 48:11Speaker 1: say I can do what you want to do, what
- 48:14Speaker 1: I'm gonna do, whatever she want to do. She grown
- 48:16Speaker 1: has done. She can't do it in the neighborhood that
- 48:19Speaker 1: I'm a member of the h o an, she can't
- 48:21Speaker 1: do it there. Okay, So I don't know whatever your
- 48:24Speaker 1: mama arrested with your kids in the car. If I
- 48:27Speaker 1: got to, I wish you would. I wish you would
- 48:30Speaker 1: have my mama arrested with my kids in the car.
- 48:32Speaker 1: You're gonna have more problems than you ever had. Okay,
- 48:36Speaker 1: you bet, And I have my mama arrested, you gonna
- 48:39Speaker 1: get arrested and you're gonna be sent to the hospital.
- 48:42Speaker 1: How about that? Okay, let me tell yourself. Tell your mama,
- 48:46Speaker 1: so slow her down in the streets. This the last one,
- 48:49Speaker 1: and I'm giving y'all this the last one. Well you
- 48:52Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. You ain't got to give no one.
- 48:54Speaker 1: And it's okay. We can have a real conversation about it.
- 48:57Speaker 1: We can meet and talk about it, because ain't I
- 48:59Speaker 1: talk to me like that? Say you and I ain't
- 49:01Speaker 1: telling my mama nothing. I ain't telling out a small
- 49:04Speaker 1: own thing nothing. What you're gonna do? What's your mom today?
- 49:07Speaker 1: Not a fact? Lets meet about it. I'm not bringing
- 49:09Speaker 1: my husband too, says you got so much to say,
- 49:13Speaker 1: you don't say. I don't want you to kiss that
- 49:14Speaker 1: same energy. Okay with my husband, I want you to
- 49:17Speaker 1: talk to him like you talking to me. I literally
- 49:20Speaker 1: tell you something. I ain't worry about your husband and
- 49:23Speaker 1: none of that. All right, I'm gonna say I'm gonna
- 49:25Speaker 1: say this right here. I'm gonna say this right here.
- 49:27Speaker 1: Tommy is the one that told us that your mamma
- 49:30Speaker 1: was speaking out the street. Commedy one said it, Tommy
- 49:34Speaker 1: put it out with Timmy. Tommy said your mamma was
- 49:38Speaker 1: the one running up and down the street fast going
- 49:41Speaker 1: part of fifty mile and out. Commedy one said that,
- 49:44Speaker 1: I don't know who timmy shoes, but Tommy can kiss my.
- 49:47Speaker 1: You can kiss my, and any other neighbors who got
- 49:50Speaker 1: something to say about my mamma can kiss mine. How
- 49:53Speaker 1: about that? You're gonna shoot it lem me and shoot it, dude,
- 49:57Speaker 1: you little Matthew Tommy from Steve Harmy More the show.
- 50:00Speaker 1: Do you know who? Stop the bosh me? How are
- 50:11Speaker 1: you going? Manly? You don't come through my God like

- 51:06Speaker 1: and Steady who is good? And there you have it.
- 51:14Speaker 1: He played. He's a bad man, even with one hand.
- 51:18Speaker 1: He's a bad man. This one on. I'm been killing me. Man.
- 51:23Speaker 1: Are you off your meds? Your pain pills? I'm off
- 51:26Speaker 1: the med I got off. I can't stand anything with
- 51:31Speaker 1: the man. Yes, you have left overtime me. Yeah, that's
- 51:34Speaker 1: what I'd like to know. To do a transaction right
- 51:40Speaker 1: here on them. Give them to go to sick people.
- 51:48Speaker 1: Won't paint people what you can? I ask you a question,
- 51:53Speaker 1: if you took one of the Timmy's pain pills, does
- 51:56Speaker 1: that help doing a crisis that's a serious. We're gonna

- 52:28Speaker 1: want to take I'm I don't have a problem, because
- 52:35Speaker 1: when you have a problem, you go to meetings, and
- 52:37Speaker 1: I don't go to meetings. Okay, I don't have anything.
- 52:43Speaker 1: This ignorant show right here, I started off ignorant. It's

- 53:38Speaker 1: wished you, you might not want them to hear this letter. Okay,
- 53:43Speaker 1: just warning you parents. The subject is I get excited
- 53:47Speaker 1: very easily. Dear Stephen Shirley, I really need your help
- 53:50Speaker 1: and advice with an embarrassing problem. I'm a twenty eight
- 53:54Speaker 1: year old healthy black mail and I am single. Since
- 53:57Speaker 1: I was fourteen years old, I've been hearing having frequent erections.
- 54:02Speaker 1: I have been to several urologists and specialists, and each
- 54:05Speaker 1: doctor told me that I'm completely normal. I have talked
- 54:09Speaker 1: to my male friends and older men, and they all
- 54:12Speaker 1: say that it does not sound normal, but it also
- 54:15Speaker 1: does not sound like a big problem. But it is
- 54:18Speaker 1: for me. I have my first professional job and I
- 54:21Speaker 1: wear suits to work daily with tailored pants. It's very
- 54:26Speaker 1: hard to conceal the class you heard me. It's very difficult,
- 54:37Speaker 1: very hard to conceal my bulge, and I feel like
- 54:41Speaker 1: everyone has noticed at one time or another. I have
- 54:44Speaker 1: tried all kinds of home remedies, and I have started
- 54:47Speaker 1: wearing really tight underwear but nothing works to compress my
- 54:51Speaker 1: big problem. I was out getting lunch the other day
- 54:54Speaker 1: and ended up having to go through a drive through
- 54:57Speaker 1: because I could not get out of the car. It
- 55:00Speaker 1: ask forever when it happens, so I've been late to
- 55:04Speaker 1: work and business meeting some days. It happens at the
- 55:07Speaker 1: worst times, no matter what's on my mind or what
- 55:11Speaker 1: I'm doing. It's caused problems in my last relationship because
- 55:14Speaker 1: it creeped out my girlfriend. And what in my last
- 55:18Speaker 1: relationship because it creeped out my girlfriend and she thought
- 55:22Speaker 1: I was some kind of freak. Creeped out on my girlfriend? Okay,
- 55:27Speaker 1: I think a word is missing there, and she thought
- 55:30Speaker 1: I was some kind of freak. It will usually go
- 55:32Speaker 1: away on its own, but most times I have to
- 55:34Speaker 1: help out the situation, if you know what I mean.
- 55:37Speaker 1: This thing is altering my lifestyle and starting to ruin
- 55:40Speaker 1: my confidence. Do you think I should discuss my situation
- 55:43Speaker 1: with my employer and my pastor. I don't want to
- 55:46Speaker 1: look like a pervert. Any advice would be helpful, all right? Um?
- 55:51Speaker 1: First of all, yeah, I just say a few things,
- 55:58Speaker 1: and then you got Steve. Okay, I think you guys too, Yeah,
- 56:05Speaker 1: And I and I said that in my first line.
- 56:09Speaker 1: I don't think I'm qualified or should I say, equipped
- 56:12Speaker 1: to answer this letter. I don't, but that to never
- 56:15Speaker 1: stopped me before, now has it. Obviously I am not
- 56:18Speaker 1: a man, but but I do empathize with you. I mean,
- 56:21Speaker 1: we've all heard about ED. We've all heard about ED.
- 56:25Speaker 1: This is the exact but no, no, this is this
- 56:30Speaker 1: is a form of ED. This is a form of ED.
- 56:32Speaker 1: It is ever read. This is a form of that,
- 56:37Speaker 1: the exact opposite of what we all are familiar with. UM.
- 56:41Speaker 1: Of course I would naturally tell you to go to
- 56:43Speaker 1: the doctor and get checked out. But you've been a neurologists,
- 56:46Speaker 1: you've been a specialist all of that, uh, you know,
- 56:49Speaker 1: and they've all said it was normal. I just can't
- 56:52Speaker 1: imagine you're missing meetings, being like for work because of this.
- 56:55Speaker 1: You're twenty eight. I know this happens when to teenage
- 56:58Speaker 1: boys a lot and stuff like that. UM, I would
- 57:00Speaker 1: just suggest you got to keep going to the doctor
- 57:03Speaker 1: until you know you can get this situation under control.
- 57:08Speaker 1: You say you wear tailored pants until this situation is
- 57:12Speaker 1: under control. Maybe you shouldn't wear tailored pants. UM, you know,
- 57:17Speaker 1: I know you Yeah, this, This is a bad situation.
- 57:20Speaker 1: I wouldn't talk to my employer about it just yet
- 57:23Speaker 1: and definitely not my pastor. Uh. And I understand you, Yeah,
- 57:27Speaker 1: I understand you don't want to look like look like
- 57:30Speaker 1: a pervert. So um steve from that point, you know,
- 57:33Speaker 1: go ahead, you can take it now. But I have
- 57:35Speaker 1: different don't even worry about it. I got all this
- 57:39Speaker 1: hill and that problem. Let me go and walk you
- 57:41Speaker 1: through this thing right here. Like you see what you
- 57:45Speaker 1: your main problem is you think you've got a problem.
- 57:49Speaker 1: That's your main problem. That's the problem. They are you
- 57:54Speaker 1: talking about. Boy, Listen to me. You're saying, I'm a
- 57:59Speaker 1: healthy twenty eight year old black man. All us been
- 58:02Speaker 1: a healthy twenty eight year old black hand. All the sick,
- 58:07Speaker 1: the sicker seals to dive better, the fat board, the
- 58:11Speaker 1: shot man. We all been healthy twenty eight year old
- 58:16Speaker 1: viral young men before that. Ain't nothing here old vibes
- 58:22Speaker 1: that they read about it again? Work it out for you. Hell,
- 58:27Speaker 1: since I was fourteen years old, I've been having frequent erections. Boy,
- 58:33Speaker 1: everybody half frequently reactions. At fourteen? What did you talk
- 58:38Speaker 1: to Joe? You can't wake up? He's your friend he's
- 58:43Speaker 1: with you all the time. I was fifteen, I was
- 58:46Speaker 1: looking at mine one day going, what do you want
- 58:49Speaker 1: from me? Why are you here? What are you going?
- 58:56Speaker 1: I'm not ready for you yet. I'm downstairs for breakfast
- 59:01Speaker 1: because I'm mama, damn down now here talking about and
- 59:10Speaker 1: you're pros too. It's every day. So now you don't
- 59:16Speaker 1: going to the doctor and guess what the doctor told
- 59:18Speaker 1: you that you completely normal because medically ain't nothing wrong
- 59:23Speaker 1: with you. Boy, hold that thought, Steve, hold on, Okay,
- 59:31Speaker 1: say something when I said that? Is it hard for
- 59:34Speaker 1: you to hold that thought? Steve? You guys are so elementary.
- 59:39Speaker 1: All right, we've been Okay, we'll have part two of
- 59:42Speaker 1: Steve's response coming up at twenty three minutes after the hours.
- 59:45Speaker 1: Subject of today's Strawberry Letter, I get excited very easily.
- 59:50Speaker 1: We'll be back in twenty three minutes after the hour.
- 59:53Speaker 1: You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, we're
- 59:57Speaker 1: gonna recap today's Strawberry letter. Before we do that, we
- 59:59Speaker 1: do need to do a disclaimer to parents. If you
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: have small children, you may not want them to hear
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: this letter. The subject does I get excited very easily? Steve,
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: it's twenty year old dude. Man and rode in and
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: say he a healthy black mail and he's singling since
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: he was fourteen years old. He's been having frequent erection.

- 1:00:39Speaker 1: gonna be looking for it. It's gonna be some morning
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: you will be talking to it. Hey, hey, what happened?
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: Come on, man, I'm up, you're down? What's happening? Hey? Man?
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: Could you just come back every hour and then see
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: But no, no, no, you take your ass to the doctor.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: And that's what he told perfectly normal boy. You this
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: you one of them boys that staying the gift horse
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: in the mouth and don't even know it. They're blessing
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: you got right now. But also some men say it
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: don't sound right. Older men say it don't sound it
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: don't sound normal. But it also don't sound like a
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: big problem. That's cause old dudes no enjoy this while
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: it is happening. Boy, saying you ain't gotten much longer

- 1:04:51Speaker 1: nothing like that in your life. So now I'm trying
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: to help you. But you all you got to do
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: is get everything up at twelve New. Now let's move
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: on down. You say that it just happens way too often.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Now you get these Tommy John makes an underwear that's
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: very comfortable that will allow you to put yourself in
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: the high noon position, and sold us under armed their
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: bicycle shorts that keep everything in a position, and you
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: won't have this problem no more. Now, did you say
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: sometimes it last four hours? That reminds me of a
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: Sealist commercial that says if you get an erection lasted
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: more than four hours, call your doctor. I'm not calling
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: the doctor if I have one to last more than
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: four hours. No I'm taking selfish. I'm taking selfish and
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: I'm putting them on a time code, and I'm sending
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: the friends of mind that I'm still I want to steal.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: Check me out two hours. I'm not calling no damn
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: doctor mun Okay, post your comments on Today's Strawberry Letter
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: and Steve Harvey FM on Instagram and Facebook, and I'm
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: forgot to check out the Strawberry Letter podcast on demand
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: coming up at forty six after the hour. Trending Boxing News.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: You're listening to the String Show. All right, Steve, this
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: had you really laughing and trending boxing news. Listen to this.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Deontay Wilder is undeniable, undeniably beaming with confidence following his
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: stunning one punch seventh round KO victory over Louise Ortiz.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: This was at the MGM Grand in Vegas. Deontay said
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: that his right hand is the most devastating weapon in
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: the history of combat sports, more dangerous and if you agree,
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: if you yeah, Ernest, and if you disagree, Dion says,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: let the pass go. Take a listen to this. I
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: don't know what what's the deal is with the old
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: generation new generation, like the oldest, the past, bro let
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: it go. You know, history does repeat itself and something.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: Then God bring others to come along to make their
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: own history. And that's the thing I'm saying. And you
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: know they was telling me how Mike said, Man, you
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: know when I knocked guys out, I had to use combinations.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: It was use you know, continue was a punch. But
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: with Wilder, he's like man that man he actually can hit.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: And that's the thing about it. You know these pass
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: understand forming and all these guys, you know, they got
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: to really just let the arrow go in the past.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: I am the hardest hidden punching boxing history period. You
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: know what, I'm not mad at nothing, Dante Wilder saying,
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: I'm Dante Wilder. I really really am Uh. He does
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: have a high percentage of knockouts. He is fighting a
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: totally different fighter now. The heavyweight division that he is
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: in now, it's not even to compare of what it was.
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: There are no Ernie Shavers, Mike Tyson's, no Larry Holmes,
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: no Ken Nortons there I know my name. There's no
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: Jane Quick Tilling x is no Lennox Lewis Lord, there
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: is no more Commed Lead. There is no Joe Frazier
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: that I know speaks brothers there, I know Foremans that
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: I know, Jerry Quarries that I know. There's none of
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: those people around the fact you and you're fighting right now.
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: No one knows Wilder the great, Holy fitter Lord. I
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: thank you for bringing him up. The era of fighting
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: that Dante Wilder is in is totally different. Is he
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: a great fighter for today? Yes he is? With Have
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: he have been a great fighter back then? I'm not
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: so sure because people could have walked through him and
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: got to him in time. But is he the greatest
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: heavyweight fighter today? Yes he is. Does he deserve his glory?
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: Yes he did. Is his knockout ratio very very real?
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: Was he the hardest hit in history of combat sport?
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: No he was not. I have seen we can continue
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: to say. Okay, coming up at the top of the hour, Steve,
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: since you guys are such huge boxing fans, we'll talk
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: about it some more. Deonte Wilder's claim that he hits
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: harder than Mike Tyson. We'll do it right after this.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: You're listening, Okay, So, Steve Moore. On this trending boxing
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: news story, boxing champ Deonte Wilder said that his right
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: hand is the most devastating weapon in the history of combat,
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: spans more dangerous than Mike Tyson. And if you disagree,
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: Wilder says, let the pass go. Okay, let it go.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: Can't let the pass? That determines what we are now
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: with you talking about no sense? You know, no, you
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: don't hit you know who? I think he the harder
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: than you. Bruce Lee knocked out people more than Bruce.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: They had people fly cross the screen. Now, yeah, you're
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: great now, but no, no, there's no way. You're the
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: hardest way. So is he discounting the past what happened?
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: Is he pas? No, That's what it sounds like like
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: he's discounting what they did that was back then what
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: Larry Larry Home put people to sleep. Yeah, man, and
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: Mike Tyson hard. Mike Tyson would hit you. He would
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: knock the fringe off your boxing shorts. I'm telling you
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: if he would fight day all that, all your sponsors,
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: beyond the Mike would make your TV at people got
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: mad and Mike Tyson fights, come to fight me over
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: why you try to get in the ring. My dad
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: comment about Mike's Tyson. My dad said, Mike Tyson hit
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: you so hard the station would change. Mike Mike is
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: Mike Man, Mike Tyson hit hard, but let me, let me,
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: let me, let me go lit The first that was
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: a man named Ernie Shavers who hit so hard. People
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: didn't even want him when he when they was blocking
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: blows with his arms. He they didn't want that. Ernie
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: Shavers hit hard. George Foreman hit hard, Yeah, hard, man hard.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: That was some fighters that other fighters in that era
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: told you, I got news for you, man, Roberto Duran,
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: they called him the hands on Stone. Yeah, that dude
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: hit hard and sugar it's people, and he was a
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: lighter man. Dante Wilder has a devastating punch. Let's make
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: no mistake about it. He got that. Am I a
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: huge Dante Wilder fan? Yeah? Is he the best today? Yes?
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: He is. Would he have been the best in that area?
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: No way, No. Who would have knocked him out in
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: that era? Pick everybody that you mentioned, he couldn't. I
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: can't see him whipping Larry Holmes. I can't see him
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: whipping Lennox Lewis. He wouldn't have whipped Tyson, he would
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: not have whipped Ali. I think he would have crashed.
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: I think he'd caught hair with Frasier Man. I think
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: Frasier would have gotten I think he Ken Norton would
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: have gave him the living blues. But these were big
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: men who fought for real. The heavyweight division was full
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: of talented fighters. Spinkx them Dokes, tell us all these cats,
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: these dudes was bad the headweight division. Now you can't
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: and it's not to take anything away from Dante Wild
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: because he deserves the credit that he's not getting. He
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: should get credit as the greatest fighter living today. The
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: problem is, first of all, a lot of people don't
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: know who he is, even though he is a champion.
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: If he walks in the room, the average person would
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: not know him. Mike Tyson to this day still holds
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: because of the opposition he fought and the size of
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: the fights. Until you get more potent heavyweights fighting, Dante
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: Wild is just sadly for him not getting the credit
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: and the money he should be getting. It's because that
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: competition is not who it is and the boy post
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: to fight can't fighting that boy from London. Yeah no, no, okay,
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: So my question is what has happened to heavyweight boxing?
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: They stopped fighting, They play video games, soft. They don't train,
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: they played video, they don't have so yeah, because it's
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: not like it used to be, No, for sure. All right,
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: we gotta go coming up more trending stories, sports stories,
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: all of that and more of the Steve Harvey Morning
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: Show at twenty minutes after the hour. Right after this,
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: you're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, talk
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: about HBCU Pride. It was big this past Saturday in
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: New Orleans, guys at the forty six annual Buy You
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: Classic Game. Yes, Southern University, it was Southern University, yes,
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: versus Grambling State University. This game went down to the wire.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: But in the end, Southern block gramblings forty yard field
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: goal attempt with five seconds remaining. Who to preserve? Yeah,
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: to preserve a thirty twenty eight victory over Grambling. Who
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: kicked the field goal? Grambling kicked the field goal, Southern's
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: player blocked it. So Southern blind, Yeah, okay, that's not
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: what got your name. No, this game went down to
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: the wire. In the end, Southern block gramblings forty yard
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: field goal attempt with five seconds left, And oh you
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: know what, uncle, you oversee it, but you didn't know
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: this uncle, No, I don't know nothing. Do you know? No? No?
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: Hold on, do you know that Auburn upset Alabama said?
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: You didn't know that? No, not like I didn't know.
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: You gotta see this game? Oh I saw it. Oh
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: one moment, Stephen. Now Austin, who are not ranked in
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: basketball beat number one Duke. Oh, you gotta get back,
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: you get back what we have. We got more of
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up with trending News
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: at thirty three minutes after the hour, right after this,
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: you're listening to show. All right, guys, so this sports
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: stuff has really got you guys riled up? Now, what
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: happened with Alabama over the weekend? Week first off shore?
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: Somebody could check on the whole state of Alabama. They're
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: not doing its junior, I, how are they doing? Girl?
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: How were they doing? Girls? Not good? A lot of
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: my field? They pass road time. We're sorry, Alabama. Yeah,
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: we're sorry. They not fitting did at all? They I'm
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: thinking he has changed schools by now, he won't be
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: scholarship got snatched right at at zero zero zero. The
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: club You not ride on the bus. No, you that's
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: so sad, But you have to give a shout out
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: to Auburn. You have to give credit to l you've
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: been alburn player hit the Alabama players so hard he
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: knocked his helmet off. Man, did you see that this weekend?
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: Hey man, this is really exciting to listen to y'all
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: talk about all this sports because none of that, none
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: of that. I'm twelve hours ahead of LA, nine hours
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: ahead of New York, and they don't. Alabama players hit
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: hotter than wad. How about that? That's what hit hard?
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: Number fifty five for Alabama hit hard. But it was
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: a good weekend of sport and up. The Cowboys lost
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: twice in a week. They lost some things giving Cowboys
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: lost upset, they fall apart. Hey man, I just think
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: that the Dallas Cowboys should not have Garrett As to coach.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: He should not. I just I just don't think why
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: they haven't been in the playoffs in so long. And
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: but I think he does what Jerry Jones wants him
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: to do, and Jerry Jones likes him. That's why he's
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: a coach. But Dallas has extremely talented players they do,
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: and why they can't put it together? I just it
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: has to coach coaching. Jerry Jones is they got the
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: players left many hot down. That's the problem. Let me
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: ask your question. Had the Browns won the game? Yes,
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: they went but the Browns up. But you have to
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: pray for the Bengals, Steve, because they don't want to.
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: I want the Beings to lose every damn game so far,
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: so far they consistent. Hey Owen, swell, hey man, I've
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: been gone a month. Can you believe it? I've been
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: gone a little over well over a month? Now? Wow, well,
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: Junior said it. You gotta get back up. They are
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: five or six all right, coming up. We'll close out
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: the show with the last break of the day and
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: of course some closing remarks from Steve Harvey. At forty
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: nine minutes after the hour. Right after this, you're listening
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Here we are, last
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: break of the day. It's been a good Monday. It's
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: been an ignorant Monday. Man, we don't disappoint not what
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: and Carlin Junior, you guys participated in the Turkey giveaway
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: over the holiday weekend. How did that go for you?
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: Was fantastic? Junior. I'll go first, let me shout out
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: to Birmingham one O seven seven the whole staff the
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: radio station slides by, yeah, slides or Lawrence, the whole staff.
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: We met some wonderful families out in Birmingham and they
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: just love the Steve Harpy Wren the show. So thank
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: you for your loyalty in the hot Ham beat Ham
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: Hot one or seven seven and we love you. I
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: was in Richmond, Virginia, Man one or six five to
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: beat my man, Big name something, Mike Street. We're out
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: passing out turkeys. Um, you know, it was pretty one
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: down enough Richmond and in Petersburg, Virginia. Man went down
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: to both places and it was absolutely outstanding. Shout out
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: to Sheriff Crawford because we was she was the one
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: really that let us go, escorted us through the city
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: to give out these turkeys man, and she does a
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: great job down there in that community. Thank you, Sheriff.
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: We had the sirens on there and we didn't stop
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: it nothing getting these turkey and we stopping nowhere. Love. Yeah.
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: They love you down there man. They do big down there, brother. Yeah,
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: and we love you right here right now. Yeah. They
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: miss your Let me try to share something with you,
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: you know, I want to in closing today, I want
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: to remind people u to to kind of listen to
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: this h you know, with an open mind, because you
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: know you're gonna have to have a positive approach to
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: really get this. But what I've had to learn myself
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: is to look for blessings. Now, you know, I know
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: it's easier saying than down, so you probably say, but
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: it really is. It really is a simple thing to do.
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: Look for blessings, you know, and the best way to
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: look for blessings is to realize what's in front of
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: you that's going on. That's of the positive nature. It's
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: the realization that things are going well for you that
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: causes you to have an appreciation that causes you to
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: realize the blessings. See, instead of focusing on your problems,
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: instead of focusing on your circumstances. When you focus on
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: your problems and your circumstances, you lose sight of exactly
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: what is going on. And the devil is really smart, right,
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: So what he does is he causes things to make
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: you focus on the problem or the situation, when clearly
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: the alternative would be to look for the blessed, to
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: focus on the good. Because if you look at your life,
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: you have a tremendous amount of things that's going really,
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: really well. If you look at the fact that you
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: are alive, that you're breathing, that you have a measure
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: of health, that you are working, that you have the
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: ability to look for work, that you have a car,
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: that you have the ability to purchase a car, that
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: you have public transportation that gets you to and fro,
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: that you have some form of money, that you have
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: a way that you can possibly get some money. It's
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: all kinds of ways to look at this. But if
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: you look at the fact that you don't have the
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: car you really want, as opposed to the fact that
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: you do have one, you lose sight of what is.
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: If you focus on the fact that this ain't the house,
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: you won't instead of showing gratitude for the house that
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: you do have, you lose sight of what is. And
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: then when you lose sight of what is, you don't
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: have the capacity to be grateful because now what you
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: do have, you're showing no gratitude for it. And because
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: you don't show gratitude for it. God is a fair,
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: just God. Why would he give you some most stuff
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: to complain about. That's the key, that's the missing link.
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: To a lot of people. And I know you think
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: with Steve, you just simplifying it. It's because it's simple.
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: The more grateful you are, the more gratitude you show
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: to God, the more things he'll give you to be
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: grateful for. It's a fact. It's a fact. As a
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: matter of fact, I dare you to try it and
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: watch what happens to you. See it changes your outlook
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: once you start showing gratitude, it just changes your whole perspective.
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: I got you want to go home, but ain't you
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: glad that when you got busted that it didn't go
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: the way that it really could have went? And I
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: got you wanna get out? But ain't you glad that
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: you sometimes had to get set down because God needed
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: to get your attention. Aren't you glad that the illness
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: you had has cleared up? Aren't you glad that you
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: at least surviving your illness? Aren't you glad for any
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: of that, for any of that? Or are you just
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: in the old Woe is Me mold? Because even when
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: you're ill and you realize that you're surviving the illness,
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: that you've lived another day through the illness, that there's
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: the potential that tomorrow could be better. That's a blessing. See,
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: it ain't over till it's over. Faith is a belief
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: in things that you cannot see, and sometimes man looking
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: for blessings, it's something that you can't see. Sometimes the
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: best blessings in life are just around the corner. But
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: you gotta go around the corner, though, y'all start looking
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: for blessings, and the best way to look for blessings
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: is be grateful for the small things in your life
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: because it causes you to focus on what you have
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: as opposed to what you don't have, and that unlocks
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: the key to the next blessing. Those of my closing remarks.
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: Hope you enjoyed your day. Y'all have a great weekend.
