Transcript
- 0:00All right, everybody welcome back to this week's
- 0:03episode episode 11 of season 5 of the Buckbuster
- 0:06podcast before we talk about anything and everything
- 0:09hockey My name is Kyle surrounded by the co -hosts
- 0:17Short week here back -to -back weeks when I'm
- 0:24done this one in since last year's linear I think
- 0:26we did like two or three straight weeks before
- 0:28the winter break or the Christmas break that
- 0:30is. But yeah, we are back here again. Hold on,
- 0:36we got an error. Kong got a new soundboard, so.
- 0:42He's been playing with that a lot. That's how
- 0:49Laker fans are reacting to the new that look
- 0:52at Donchit Street. Like, me and Kong were talking
- 0:56about those like, what, how would? How would
- 0:58you describe that in NHL terms? Luka Doncic going
- 1:02to LA for Anthony Davis. How would you describe
- 1:04that in NHL terms? It'd be like, I don't know.
- 1:11Ken Wacar going to, like, who's one of their,
- 1:15like, rivals? Dallas, maybe? Ken Wacar going
- 1:21to Dallas for Tyler Sagan or something. Like
- 1:25the age -wise, I think that matches up decently
- 1:28well. Yeah, because Sagan, I mean, although Anthony
- 1:32Davis really wasn't the number one guy out there,
- 1:34because it was LeBron, he was a good number two
- 1:38guy to kind of fill in as needed. Whereas Anthony
- 1:40Davis is the number two in LA. Lucas, the number
- 1:44one guy in Dallas right now. He's debatably the
- 1:47number one in basketball right now. He's like
- 1:49top three in the league right now. I'd say top
- 1:50five. With due respect to him, he's a good player.
- 1:54Do not get me wrong. But he's not, I don't think
- 1:57he's exactly top three yet. He's still young
- 1:59though. I don't watch basketball to be able to
- 2:02argue that enough. I mean, you got the one -two
- 2:04punch in, you know, as much as I hate to say
- 2:07this because I don't fucking like LeBron anymore
- 2:09ever since he left Cleveland the second time,
- 2:11LeBron and Steph, although they're old for the
- 2:14NBA. I mean they're 30s, mid -30s. He's the best
- 2:18of that age, like that younger upcoming age bracket.
- 2:21Yeah, if you want to classify it into age brackets,
- 2:24sure. He's great for his, you know, mid to late
- 2:2720s age bracket. He's the number one guy, but
- 2:30I think overall, collectively... I don't watch
- 2:35basketball enough, but I know enough to know
- 2:37that that trade is fucking horrible for Dallas.
- 2:41I mean, I guess I mentioned the stars, so I didn't
- 2:44even realize that. I did another horrible trade
- 2:46for what Dallas would do. No, it'd be great for
- 2:50Dallas. You're getting somebody like freaking
- 2:52Kayle McCarr. Well, yeah, for Dallas. This one
- 2:55would be good for Dallas, yeah. But somebody
- 3:00like Kayle McCarr for Tyler Sagan or something,
- 3:02I think that's a... a pretty comparable you know
- 3:07a trade there and even like nfl terms imagine
- 3:10trading like they'd be like trading josh allen
- 3:13for fucking i don't know well i'd be like trading
- 3:17josh allen for russell wilson or something like
- 3:20i mean age -wise that's a little bit i think
- 3:23josh allen's already pushing 30 by this point
- 3:24i mean russell's like 27 2018 draft Allen was
- 3:29in the 2018 draft, so he's not old. I think he's
- 3:35going to be 30 this year by the time the next
- 3:36season starts. We'll turn 30 during the next
- 3:39season. No, he's currently 28. May 21st of 1996.
- 3:54So he'll be 29 by the time the next season starts.
- 3:58So, wow. Josh Allen's almost 30. I think Mahomes,
- 4:04I think Mahomes was the same year. I think Mahomes
- 4:06was also 2018. Soon to be three -peaked Super
- 4:10Bowl champion, because, you know, the league
- 4:12is rigged and that's how it's going to be. He'll
- 4:15be 30 by the time the next season starts. Mahomes?
- 4:19Yeah. Yeah, Mahomes. And 2017 for Mahomes. Because
- 4:2317 was... You're telling me he's going to have
- 4:24his fourth ring, but that's happened before.
- 4:26He's even 30. Because I'll say keep in mind my
- 4:30homes is the same draft as Miles Garrett's which
- 4:32was 2017 I Know Lamar now Yeah, and then yeah
- 4:42Allen's 18 because he was say I remember that
- 4:44was draft for Baker one number one over She was
- 4:50like no god damn it even my grandfather like
- 4:54it's weird how like He knows who to pick. He
- 4:58said, we should pick Josh Allen. Josh Allen should
- 5:01be number one. He'll be the leader of the next
- 5:02franchise. And guess what they did? They drafted
- 5:05Baker. And as great as he's doing down in Tampa,
- 5:08he is cocky as shit in Cleveland. Granted, Cleveland's
- 5:11a shit town, but... I mean, wouldn't you be if,
- 5:14you know, the team you just got drafted to went
- 5:160 -16 the previous season, all of a sudden you
- 5:18come in and you're fighting for a playoff spot
- 5:20your first year as a starter? I'd be a little
- 5:22cocky too. But no, even coming into... So even
- 5:26before the season even started. Cocky shit, arrogance,
- 5:30didn't get along with that coach Kevin Stefanski.
- 5:34Stefanski doesn't know what the fuck he's doing
- 5:36out there, by the way, but that's Stefanski.
- 5:38I'm surprised he hasn't gotten fired yet. I think
- 5:41he's gonna be soon. He has one or two head coaches
- 5:45that shouldn't have a job going into next year.
- 5:49One or two, and you guys know what my one is.
- 5:51I'm kind of on that boat. There's one kicker
- 5:56in the AIC North now that shouldn't have a job
- 5:57anymore, but we're not gonna touch on that. Unintended.
- 6:06Anyways! Let's keep our hands to ourselves here,
- 6:09okay? Hands on our own sport, right y 'all? Yeah,
- 6:13I can't, uh, can't speak for... for, uh, for
- 6:17that or, uh, for nine other massage therapists,
- 6:19but, um... Anyways! Back to hockey, Erie Otters
- 6:24hockey to be specific. I think one thing we need
- 6:27to address is that as we talked about last week,
- 6:33pretty much right when our episode uploaded,
- 6:35we got the news that Stan Butler was officially
- 6:38released by the Erie Otters. Which is unfortunate.
- 6:43It was a long week, I forgot that happened this
- 6:45week. It was literally Monday morning. You know,
- 6:50like Jeff said, right around the time when the
- 6:52last week's episode drops, so... I assume if
- 6:54they were going to do it this week, they were
- 6:56going to wait until the end of that road trip
- 6:58last weekend. But yeah, that's crazy. I mean,
- 7:04we kind of all stopped coming. Everybody's like,
- 7:06yeah, we're not really surprised that this happened.
- 7:08I mean, if you didn't see it coming, then you're
- 7:10kind of oblivious to what's happening in here.
- 7:12You mean you were dead and you didn't know? I
- 7:14was too focused on getting my free chili in.
- 7:17Chirrado! Yeah, I mean still haven't released
- 7:21much and there's still people bitching like oh
- 7:23we deserve to fucking know like It's none of
- 7:24our fucking business to know what happened Like
- 7:28I mean if it is what people are saying it is
- 7:31should he have you know Should we have every
- 7:33right to throw his ass onto the bus for those
- 7:35actions? Yes, absolutely But if it wasn't something
- 7:38like that, you know, just personal reasons then
- 7:41you know, whatever Anyways Yeah, moving on, talking
- 7:49more otter talk. This week we won one and two,
- 7:52three games this week. Beating Owen Sound was
- 7:55at Wednesday night in overtime. Beautiful goal
- 7:58by Meziak there, though. Absolutely gorgeous.
- 8:01Danced around formal otter. Dangled city there.
- 8:05Yeah, around formal otter. Brews! And then proceeded
- 8:10to the blues in regulation, and Monday and on
- 8:12Friday night, 4 -2, and again on Saturday night
- 8:16in regulation. 4 to 1. To Sarnia, right? To Sarnia,
- 8:21yeah. Let's say our 5 and 9 since the New Year
- 8:25turned. We said 23 and 23 overall. So I mean
- 8:30500, that's how we've been the last two years,
- 8:33is a 500 team. Definitely better than two years
- 8:37ago or even four or five years ago. And as of
- 8:42right now, they sit solely in the fifth place
- 8:44position with Sarnia's win earlier. Or not sorry,
- 8:48Saginaw's won earlier. So Saginaw officially
- 8:51is the number four spot in the west. 52 points
- 8:54at the moment. I know we were paying attention
- 8:56to the London -Windsor game because if London
- 8:59wins that game, they already clinch a playoff
- 9:02spot. First team to clinch a playoff spot. And
- 9:07it looks like Windsor just did take the 4 -3
- 9:09lead. 5 minutes to go in the third. So we'll
- 9:12try to keep an eye on that throughout the night.
- 9:17Yeah. Yeah, other than that, um, there are not
- 9:21much home games this week for the Otters, so
- 9:23we can't really speak of how they're looking.
- 9:25I mean, I watched a little bit of that win against
- 9:27Owen Sound. I watched both the Owen Sound game
- 9:32and the London game. I know they took some really
- 9:37stupid ones in Owen Sound, and right after Alfie
- 9:43scored his goal, Like he obviously gave a little
- 9:47tap to Bruce McDonough when they were skating.
- 9:51I think it was nothing but a little bit of a
- 9:52love tap. They're such a swore family. It was
- 9:57just stupid that they called him. Bruce did nothing
- 9:59about it either. Bruce didn't care. He just took
- 10:00it and skated it off. As former teammates, you're
- 10:04still going to have jokes amongst yourselves.
- 10:06You're still going to poke at each other in good
- 10:08meaning. Like, hey dumbass or whatever. Both
- 10:12date on the way five. Be able to fucking know
- 10:14and do the research but hey, those are former
- 10:16teammates and not oh he just sloshed the player
- 10:18for no reason No, they're former fucking you
- 10:19know, it's like that was like stupid. That was
- 10:22kind of stupid not on now, but just Just in general,
- 10:27but yeah, but Edwards took a really like not
- 10:31even Shortly after took a like on sportsman like
- 10:34conduct like reading the internet like After
- 10:38the plays. I mean, I kind of like it though.
- 10:41I mean I like that he's been kind of getting
- 10:43a little more physical. He's sticking up for
- 10:45himself. He's not... I noticed when he first
- 10:47came back into Eerie last year, he's taking heads
- 10:50and just kind of letting it happen and not standing
- 10:53up for himself. People were jumping in. We were
- 10:55probably getting unsportsman -nice for that.
- 10:57T -Lane's jumping and standing up for him. But
- 10:59yeah, he's been standing up for himself a lot
- 11:01more. He's not taking no shit. We saw his Corey
- 11:04Howe hat -trick at the end of last season. Just
- 11:07how raucous that readout was. Well that readout
- 11:11went fucking nowhere. Like that's Edwards! That's
- 11:13a fucking Gordie Howe! Yeah, like it took us,
- 11:15I think all of us that were sitting in our section,
- 11:18it took us a second. We were like, oh there's
- 11:20a fucking, like, holy shit that's Dylan! Like,
- 11:23don't fuck it away! And then Anthony was the
- 11:26one that pointed out, he's like, you know that's
- 11:28a Gordie Howe, right? You know that's a Gordie
- 11:30Howe. Hell yeah, that was fucking awesome. Coolest
- 11:34thing that I've witnessed in an owner's game
- 11:35in a while. When the smalls guy on the team is
- 11:39going out and chucking munch. This is fucking
- 11:41no taller than me or Jeff. Like, it's kids 5,
- 11:436, 5, 7. Like, probably 140 pounds soaking wet.
- 11:48Like, he's a small, big kid. I was like, he was
- 11:50making a name for himself after being called
- 11:53back up. Like, hey, I got my opportunity to be
- 11:56here. I'm gonna fucking keep it. If I'm going
- 11:59down, I'm going down swinging. Literally swinging.
- 12:02Well, no pun intended. Yeah, he's going down
- 12:05swing, so. Yeah, what do we got for Mouth Sounds
- 12:08this week, Jeff? Not too many this week, but
- 12:12we'll start back on the 26th of January. Charlie
- 12:15Paquette of the Gulf Storm gets his first career
- 12:18at OHL Hatchery versus the Austro -Generals.
- 12:22On the 29th, Jack of... Karonik of the Catcher
- 12:27Rangers played in his 150th OHL game versus Sue
- 12:31Grahams. On the 30th, San Jose Sharks prospect
- 12:37Igor Shamsarov of the Saginaw Spirit gets his
- 12:41first career OHL goal. And in that same game,
- 12:44Tyler Hopkins of the Kingston Frontenac gets
- 12:47his first career OHL hat -trick versus Saginaw.
- 12:51On the 31st, Quinn Bacall of the Eriotters gets
- 12:55his first crew, which are Gold versus the London
- 12:58Knights. That was actually a nice shot. I did
- 13:00not see it. I did not either. It was really nice.
- 13:08On the first, Ethan Weir of the Saginaw Spirit
- 13:13gets his first crew, which are Gold versus the
- 13:15Kitchener Rangers. Sean Doherty of the Niagara
- 13:20Ice Dogs gets his first career OHL hat trick
- 13:23versus the Barry Colts. And as of today, the
- 13:26second, Chris Barless of the Auto 67 played in
- 13:30his 200th career OHL game versus the Guelph Storm.
- 13:34And Quentin Burns of the Kings and Frontenacs
- 13:36played in his 200th career OHL game versus Sarnia
- 13:40Sting. What was the thing you pointed out? A
- 13:43little bit of Google. I can't believe he played
- 13:46his 250th. Game consecutive game. Yeah, and he
- 13:51like right now. It's been like the Iron Man of
- 13:54it which oh, yeah, like in his four years He's
- 13:58not missing. Yeah, I said to the group chat,
- 14:02but yeah Kingston front next forward Cedric gundam
- 14:06We'll play in his 250th consecutive OHL contest
- 14:10or has painted against fence tonight The 20 year
- 14:13old has not missed a single game in his four
- 14:16seasons and has produced a point per game pace
- 14:19Over the span of his OHL career between Kingston
- 14:22and Owen sound which is fucking insane By the
- 14:32way, like I said, four to three of Windsor right
- 14:34now. London blue with three nothing lead. Gotta
- 14:38love that. Three, yeah, fuck you, London. That's
- 14:41why. Gotta love it. Yeah, jump ring to some NHL.
- 14:47We don't rebuild, we reload. Yeah, you reload
- 14:50to fucking class to Windsor, so. Jump into some
- 14:55NHL. Let's do some puck doko first. I feel like
- 15:11I should know it, but Welcome back to Pittsburgh,
- 15:26Nathan. I haven't updated it yet, but Alright,
- 15:29we'll get to that Number is lower than that.
- 15:33We know his jersey number is similar to teens
- 15:3518 or 19. You know the late teens. Yeah I think
- 15:38Jersey can be within five like within four or
- 15:40five So it can be as low as maybe 16 So he's
- 15:45in the East He's not Canadian. Hey And he's below
- 15:51the age of 27 He's 26 to 11 and he's not a left
- 15:55winger. Should we get somebody random on, maybe
- 16:00somebody random on the penguins then? Like...
- 16:04Because if I have enough data to get, just do
- 16:07DOC, I guess. Yeah, I was actually just about
- 16:10to... He's metro American, he's either 24 or
- 16:1625, and he, his number, yes. Yeah, he always
- 16:20let me know the number, so okay. He's how young
- 16:25is Drew O 'Connor like oh, I'm gonna look this
- 16:28up 26 No, he's younger than 26 obviously the
- 16:32players younger than 26. Oh Do you do you see
- 16:3526? Yeah, June 9th? He'll be 27 this year. Fuck.
- 16:39Yeah, he's almost a four -year man. Damn Somebody
- 16:42in the metro that is 24 25 years old That's American
- 16:47That's numbers are either 18 or 19 and it's not
- 16:52a left winger Well, that's don't show That's
- 16:59not like the hair but now he don't strolls to
- 17:02old Are you sure? Don't strong was older than
- 17:06me. Is he he aged out in 2017? Don't know a year.
- 17:11Yeah, this is oh a year. So he's a lot he's older
- 17:14than 26. Okay He's also Canadian. He's not American.
- 17:18Is he? I don't know. I I the way that that eliminates
- 17:29I think his number is 13, but I mean it's worth
- 17:31the guess to try to get the team. No it is 13.
- 17:35Yeah. So he's either 20, 40, I've already said
- 17:39this already. Team That's why I did laugh in
- 17:51here just try to get the age in that Now he's
- 17:58a center man, he's a center man. He said we know
- 18:0024 25 years old his number is 18 or 19. Oh What
- 18:05about like um, oh no, cuz he's with the Rangers
- 18:07I was gonna say Riley Smith, but he's with the
- 18:09Rangers and he's the older than yeah He's a center
- 18:16Thanks for your American. So we got what Islanders
- 18:19Devils? CBJ and Carolina in Philly What about
- 18:30like um Yeah, just got traded over to Philly
- 18:34Morgan from he has to trade out of Philly So
- 18:39it could still be him if the team hasn't updated
- 18:40yet, what's the one that trade happened? What's
- 18:43that? It's Adrian. That was yes I was laying
- 19:08down to go to bed and I got the notification
- 19:10that Pedersen was trading. I was like, what the
- 19:12fuck? But we'll get to that. We'll talk about
- 19:14that in a bit. Here, shortly. Um, how's the cherry
- 19:18promise? Sure. Not here. Did you get a guess
- 19:30out there yet? Not yet. It's not Columbus. Monaham's
- 19:35dirty. Wow. How'd they use that old? So, trying
- 19:40to guess somebody out of Philly. Joel, what's
- 19:43Joel Farabee's number? Let's see, like, 18. Go
- 19:50Joel Farabee. I don't know what his number is,
- 19:57but... Hell, he is American. He's a little younger,
- 20:01though. Okay. So it's a sentiment on either Carolina,
- 20:06the Islanders, or the Devils. And that is 25
- 20:09years old. 25 years old. His number is 18 or
- 20:1219. It's American. All right, well try to think
- 20:18of care about no Cuz all who is an American no,
- 20:23he's Swedish or finish finish. Well, he's 25.
- 20:26I had number 25, right? Yeah, who's 20 20 Jersey
- 20:30numbers 20 and he's finished Well, I'm just I'm
- 20:34just trying to think is like if we can learn
- 20:36to need the Jersey number Then we know it'll
- 20:38be the other team between the Islanders and Carolina
- 20:44and the Devils Oh, what about, no. Jack is American.
- 20:54And he wears a number C6. The age bracket's close.
- 20:59No, I think Jack's only like 24. I just know
- 21:02that Jack's young as well, so that's - I'm actually
- 21:05Luke's youngest. Well, young in NHL experience.
- 21:08I was gonna say youngest. No, no, no, no. He's
- 21:10young in the NHL. I knew it wouldn't be Jack,
- 21:13because he also wears his number 86 and that,
- 21:16so... Oh, God. I'm just trying to think of players
- 21:22on these teams. I know, never mind. Barzell's
- 21:2513. Yeah. That's the reason why I hate him. I
- 21:30have to just say Barzell just didn't get the
- 21:31team. And we have what? This is our second to
- 21:34last guess, and we'd have to throw one out if
- 21:36it's not the Islanders. Parasol's 27 now. He's
- 21:44Canadian. Parasol's American. Okay, well, we
- 21:47know it's not the other, so it's either the Devils
- 21:49or Carolina. I'm just trying to think. I don't
- 21:54know. Oh, um, no, nevermind. He's not American.
- 22:01I'm gonna go with that, like, Andre Pallotti,
- 22:03because I believe his number's 18, but he's not
- 22:04American. Nope, you're right. Oh, that's Chinese
- 22:08and New Jersey, isn't it? Yep. I'm pretty sure
- 22:11his number is 18. It is. So it almost makes me
- 22:14want to guarantee that it is Carolina now. But
- 22:18who the hell wears 18 or 19 on Carolina? Oh,
- 22:22it's not Svec and he's not American. He's like
- 22:2436 or something, can you remember? Could be like
- 22:30one of the new guys that they got in. Obviously
- 22:37can't be Jordan Stalks. He's 49 now. You're right.
- 22:44Nico Heesher. He's 13, I believe, his number.
- 22:48He's not American. No, I thought Dawes was American.
- 22:52Who? Nick Dawes. Alright, there's somebody out
- 22:55there in Jersey. Dawes and Mercer? Yeah, yeah,
- 23:00Dawes and Mercer. I believe his number is like
- 23:0126. Also, I thought Nick Dowd out of, I think
- 23:07he's Washington, but also he can't be Washington.
- 23:10Oh my god, I have no clue. Neither do I. I'm
- 23:20trying to picture him with probably like a bottom
- 23:22six defenseman, like, or bottom six forward.
- 23:33I can almost, I can see his friggin' face, man.
- 23:35Oh! No, nevermind, he's a defenseman. His number
- 23:42nor age would match up, I don't think. I have
- 23:46no clue. Tim Stufel is, what, German? Well, he's
- 23:53not awesome. Not at all, yeah. I got nothing.
- 24:01Matthew Kachow, number, age, everything adds
- 24:03up, but he's in Florida. Yeah, Atlantic. I got
- 24:09nothing. Yeah, I got nothing either. Your best
- 24:12guess I have is like a Dustin Mercer, but I'm
- 24:14all... It's worth a guess, but I'm almost positive
- 24:16his number's like 26. Oh, shit! Jack Drury. Out
- 24:23of Carolina. Okay. Okay. Oh, Dustin Mercer's
- 24:2791. That was way off. Holy fuck. Damn. All right.
- 24:34All right, well, Puckdoku, let's redeem ourselves
- 24:36here. Alright going across is the columns Washington
- 24:40Vancouver and a five -test wins postseason career
- 24:44Okay, and for the Rose we have Philadelphia st.
- 24:49Louis and Colorado We're gonna go tender for
- 24:57Philly who would have been there who'd been there
- 24:59go tender in their cup run to beat for that team?
- 25:08I believe so. You don't believe so? One of their
- 25:13wins had to have been at least with one of that
- 25:14team. Well, who? I'm not trying to tell, but
- 25:19no. Fuck, who? Steve Mason. Yeah, maybe Steve
- 25:25Mason. Or who in that 13 run? Or that 2010 run?
- 25:29That's what I'm trying to think. Or the 2013
- 25:33series with Pittsburgh. That's what I'm trying
- 25:35to think. Yeah. because i think they want i don't
- 25:42know well here let me let me knock this one out
- 25:45of the way because he can't go anywhere else
- 25:48so oh uh capitals blues oshi oh that's right
- 25:53i think you're rocking the jersey right now so
- 25:55oh shit that's right capitals capitals um burkowski
- 26:01yeah i was blanking i was down new andre i couldn't
- 26:04think of his last name All right Biddington back
- 26:19on their cup run five postseason wins. Oh, that's
- 26:21right the baby back bitch Guru who was grew bar.
- 26:30It's a goal in their cup, right? Yeah Screw me
- 26:44then. Oh, it's two P's. Oh, my bad. I mean, Steve
- 26:51Mason's the only, like, the best guess I'd have.
- 26:54But let's save that for last so we don't... Yeah,
- 26:56we don't screw up. Colorado, Vancouver. Heinen
- 27:02never played for Vancouver, I don't think. Heinen?
- 27:05Ganton Heinen. We caught him in a trade for Vancouver.
- 27:07I meant Colorado. I was going to say Kyle. How
- 27:11high are you right now, man? Yes. No, it's high
- 27:15R. St. Louis, Vancouver, you can get Ryan Miller.
- 27:20Mm -hmm. Wait, Ryan Miller picked for St. Louis?
- 27:23Briefly. Very brief. Really? He was a trick.
- 27:27He went from Buffalo to St. Louis at the trade
- 27:31deadline that of 2014. Jeff. I had no clue. Jeff,
- 27:34he's right. Good shit. All right. Oh, um... I
- 27:42know Vancouver just got somebody who was a keeper
- 27:44Shearwood. I know he got, I think he got traded
- 27:46there. But from where? Was that from Colorado?
- 27:54I'm not confident enough. Jack Johnson never
- 27:59played for Vancouver. Obviously not like the
- 28:05guys I have right now. Like, you know, McKinnon,
- 28:08McCarr, Landis, Cog. Brayton in Not ranked anymore.
- 28:14What's that? Not ranked anymore. Oh yeah, I know.
- 28:17Cause you know, he's not supposed to say shit
- 28:19about Adelphi, but he's in Carabina. That's another
- 28:22one we'll fucking get to. That happened last
- 28:25week. That happened... Was that this week? I
- 28:28thought it was. That was last week. We just forgot
- 28:32to cover it last week. We covered it? I thought
- 28:34we covered it briefly. If not, we'll talk about
- 28:37it later. Philly and Vancouver. I'm trying to
- 28:45think of both current and former. Let's try January
- 28:5024th. Which, okay, what's that? Trevor Van Rinsdijk.
- 28:57I don't know if he ever played for Philly. I
- 28:59know he played for Washington. I'm pretty sure
- 29:02he played for Vancouver. I don't think you played
- 29:06for Philly. I don't, James played for Stikless
- 29:08and Philly. I don't know about Trevor. Philly,
- 29:10Boston, Toronto. I think that's it. Almost got
- 29:16traded to Detroit at the deadline that year.
- 29:19Remember, I was the one who hung up the phone.
- 29:22Savage. I'll call or I don't pay a coon. This
- 29:28one is like, it's right there in your face. I
- 29:31feel like it's an obvious one, but I can't, you
- 29:34know. Think of it. I mean this one could go as
- 29:38far back as like Where was Colorado before they
- 29:44were in Colorado? Quebec? How about Vancouver?
- 29:48I know Vancouver goes far back to like the 70s
- 29:5180s so could be someone from Quebec, Vancouver.
- 29:55Yeah, because Vancouver came in the same time
- 29:57and league as Buffalo did which was 74. I thought
- 30:02Buffalo came in the 67 with the Penguins. Nope.
- 30:05Buffalo didn't. Did they not sell 74? Oh no,
- 30:0770, sorry. I was going to say their 50th anniversary
- 30:09was the 1920 season. I got to see the one we
- 30:14went to in Pittsburgh there celebrating their
- 30:1650th. Yeah, so it was... In the game against
- 30:19Pittsburgh we went to in Buffalo. First time,
- 30:21or first visit to Buffalo. There was like 80
- 30:26-20 Penguins fans, 80 % Penguins fans in their
- 30:28arena. That was great. Let's go a bit as we've
- 30:31gone. It's been majority Sabres fans. Well, I'll
- 30:37finish it after this. Oh my god. Philly, Vancouver.
- 30:41That's another one that should be like right
- 30:44there in your face. I didn't go to Vancouver.
- 30:52Fuck you. Philly and the winds. I mean, that
- 30:55could be like Camp Talbot, but like... Uh, Sergey
- 31:00Rapparovsky. I know he's been there for a couple
- 31:03of the winds. Yeah, but I don't know if it has
- 31:06to be with that. Click on the how to play down
- 31:09below and see if it says like stat and team.
- 31:15Stat and a team, the player's achievement must
- 31:17have been recorded while they're a member of
- 31:19that team during their respective season. Okay.
- 31:22So I mean yeah, Steve Mason would be like, would
- 31:25fit. Might be the only one that would fit. All
- 31:27right. So I know he was there for a while. No,
- 31:33damn. Who the fuck was th - who was there there,
- 31:36cup run? It wasn't Bobrowski. I think it was
- 31:47Neuwirth? Yeah. I don't think it was Neuwirth
- 31:49either. Oh, fuck. It might have been like their
- 31:56camped halibut days, but... I'll hold. 2013 is
- 32:03when I came into the league, so. Couldn't have
- 32:05been. Fuck. Who did they have that year? I'm
- 32:18blanking on the last three. I am Phil. I feel
- 32:21like Philly, Vancouver, I can't keep. I feel
- 32:23like Philly, Vancouver, I should get it. Tyler
- 32:30Myers went straight over to Vancouver for Buffalo
- 32:33Real. He also played in Winnipeg, I believe,
- 32:36didn't he? Oh yeah. I'm gonna stop with Winnipeg.
- 32:38I don't think he's ever in Philly. I'm trying
- 32:43to think of all the places... Max Talbot played
- 32:51for Philly, Pittsburgh. Oh yeah, did he have
- 32:55a small stint in Vancouver? I'm thinking also
- 32:59Matt Cook. He did Washington, Colorado, no not
- 33:03Colorado, Vancouver, Pittsburgh. Did he paint
- 33:06Colorado? Matt Cook? Matt Cook. He's named Vancouver,
- 33:12Washington, Pittsburgh. I don't think so. Craig
- 33:20Adams did Carabao. What about, um, where all
- 33:22did Koliakovow play? Who? Carlo Koliakovow? Hey,
- 33:29I don't know. I know it. Rhino Riley never played
- 33:32for Vancouver. And he never played for Philly.
- 33:36He's only been Colorado, Buffalo, Nashville,
- 33:40St. Louis. I think I'm like, um... What's more
- 33:51goaltenders that... that Philly, or Jesus, Colorado
- 33:56has gone through? A group hour they had. Um,
- 34:00Kemper. Kemper. Kemper did Washington. Also did
- 34:05Washington. Brandon Holtby, Philly, Vancouver.
- 34:07No, no, Washington. He did for Washington. Never
- 34:09mind. Are you okay? I saw Washington and I just
- 34:13saw it thought it was Brandon Holtby. Yeah, Holtby's
- 34:17only been Vancouver, Washington, Dallas. Yeah,
- 34:21I was confusing Philly with Washington. I get
- 34:24that Washington and Philly are our rivals, but
- 34:27like... I hate them both equally. I got nothing
- 34:32on these last ones. Oh, come on. Oh, what? Oh,
- 34:45man! Sergey Bobrovsky. He must have been there,
- 34:50that cup run, then. Honestly, I never realized
- 34:57he played for Philly. I know he played for Philly.
- 34:59He was drafted by Philly or started there at
- 35:01least. His first season was the 2010 -2011 season.
- 35:14So the year after their cup run. Did they have
- 35:17a cup run 2011 season? 2011 playoffs it would
- 35:20have been. at least one more than a round. I
- 35:25thought they made it to the second, first, only
- 35:29the first round, second round that year. If I
- 35:32remember. So he, Bob Ross, he won at least five
- 35:36playoff games with Philly. Uh, 2011, that playoff
- 35:44run, they lost in the conference semi -finals.
- 35:48It doesn't say who to. Okay. Wow. good pull all
- 35:53right yeah i and then the following year as well
- 35:57they lost in the semi -finals so both years that
- 36:01the bob was there a random name that popped into
- 36:02my head i don't know if he played for philly
- 36:04is trevor lyndon i know he i thought he bounced
- 36:09around a little bit no okay all right let's see
- 36:15luke shen dilzato sam dungy Thomas Sostito. Mark
- 36:27Friedman. Yeah, we didn't really miss a lot of
- 36:31obvious names. Wendell Young. Matt Sundeen. From
- 36:38Colorado, Vancouver. Ian Cole. Brad May. Keeper
- 36:44Sherwood, I said that! I fucking said Keeper
- 36:47Sherwood and I wasn't sure where he came from.
- 36:50Fuck. Jason, uh, Jason, I hate that. Brad Richards.
- 37:00Honestly, I'm not too... I'm not too mad about
- 37:03that, honestly. We could have also done Ron Hexdahl,
- 37:06Briskolov, Michael Leighton, Bernie Perag, Michael
- 37:12Leighton and Brea - Carhartt. Carahart, Brea
- 37:16- Emory, Brian Elliott, Marty Beron, Kam Talbot
- 37:20could have fit in there, Michael Neuverth! Martin
- 37:24Jones Every fucking name we said could have fit
- 37:26in there Peter Morazic I mean I was wrong like
- 37:35he only played 27 games with Vancouver or with
- 37:39Colorado for two years He played he's played
- 37:41more this year with Vancouver than he did with
- 37:43Colorado for two years, so I fucking said here
- 37:47for sure one didn't I oh my god Peter Moravzic
- 37:51splits time between Detroit and Philadelphia
- 37:53in the 17 -18 season. So that's how he fits.
- 37:58In that season, he did 22 games to Detroit and
- 38:0217 games to Philadelphia before moving on to
- 38:05Carolina, Toronto for a season, and then he's
- 38:08been to Chicago since the 22 -23 season. So yeah,
- 38:13he's been on five teams. All right. Well, let's
- 38:16do the double redeem ourselves. Let's try the
- 38:19pyramid. Got to do something decent here tonight.
- 38:25Yeah, go find a mock -up. 50 goals scored in
- 38:27a career. Anybody that has scored 50 goals in
- 38:30their career. Jake Gensel. Because he won't fit
- 38:35anywhere else on that board. 50 goals that has
- 38:37played for... The Rangers. Right off the bat,
- 38:42I think JT Miller is going to be the top. Yeah.
- 38:45Right off the bat, I can tell you that. If we
- 38:48can get to the top. Yeah, if we can get there.
- 38:51But we could do Yeah, I was gonna say Mika. Or
- 38:56do you want to save him for the 500 games played?
- 38:59The 50 points in the season. We can also do Chris
- 39:02Kreider. We can also do Panera. Well, let's do
- 39:06yeah, let's do Kreider for this. We'll do Mika
- 39:08for the 500 plus and we can do the Panarin for
- 39:14any team. So we said, what, Kreider? Yeah. It's
- 39:22EIA. 500 games, Mika. Printing air bread. AR,
- 39:36P -A -N -A -R. Wait, I'm sorry, what? P -A -N
- 39:41-A -R. Alright, then this one. Someone that played
- 39:50for Vancouver in New York. It's not JT Miller.
- 39:56That's the key. That's not JT Miller. I want
- 39:59to see if we can get this without you in the
- 40:00lifeline, too. Um... Here, let me exit out with
- 40:09this. Vancouver. Rangers. 500 games. 50 points
- 40:16season. 50 gold season. Alright, it's a career
- 40:19for the gold career. The Rangers and the Canucks.
- 40:23Oh! Mark Messier. Yeah? Yeah. Mark Messier, good
- 40:27pull. And JT Miller at the top, right? Boom.
- 40:35Yep, there you go. Just like that, let's go.
- 40:36Alright, we're deemed ourselves. Shocker with
- 40:41Wayne Gretzky at the number four. Say I he's
- 40:45only more popular than I'm Panera bread and yogurt
- 40:48can't miss you. I'm each Savannah check writer
- 40:51any 50 goals score Somebody fucking Jonathan
- 40:59Chi Chi was a top five What the fuck Are you
- 41:05fucking kidding me out of anybody anybody can
- 41:08make Jonathan Chi Chi was a fucking top five
- 41:11What? fucking Jonathan cheat you what the fuck
- 41:20that's hilarious that's the funniest fucking
- 41:24thing I've heard so far oh yeah that'll jump
- 41:29us into just a couple of NHL milestones that
- 41:33happened this week we can jump into me and Colin's
- 41:36little too many games and then our main topic
- 41:38for the week Alright, on January 26th, Ethan
- 41:44Del Maestro of the Chicago Blackhawks recorded
- 41:46his first career NHL point. On the 27th, Quinn
- 41:50Hughes became the first Canucks defenseman ever
- 41:53to record 100 multi -point games. Joining to
- 41:57the 29th, Linus Carlsen of the Vancouver Canucks
- 42:00scored his first career NHL goal versus the Nashville
- 42:03Predators. Dmitry Kulikov played in his 1000th
- 42:07career game and Adam Larson played in his 900th
- 42:09career game. On the 30th, Marc -André Fleury
- 42:13becomes the first goaltender in NHL history to
- 42:15record a shut -up both as a teenager and as a
- 42:1840 or older player. Parker Ford of the Winnipeg
- 42:22Jets scored his first career NHL goal versus
- 42:25the Bruins. Also in that game Charlie McElvoy
- 42:28played in his 500th game. Zach Bogosian played
- 42:31in his 900th and Victor Hedman played in his
- 42:341100th. And Marc Gatcombe of the Islanders scored
- 42:38his first career NHL goal against the Flyers.
- 42:41On February 1st, Paul Maurice became the fourth
- 42:44coach in NHL history to reach 900 wins. Brady
- 42:49Kochuk recorded his 100th multi -point game.
- 42:53Jake Sanderson recorded his 100th career point.
- 42:57And Brett Burns recorded his 900th career point.
- 43:00I know that one's been on the watch for quite
- 43:02some time now. Tage Thompson recorded his 300th
- 43:06point. Jonathan quick becomes the 15th goaltender
- 43:10in history to record 400 wins the first American
- 43:13born goaltender to do so and Then the defenseman
- 43:16allies peterson of the Vancouver Canucks recorded
- 43:19his first NHL point versus the Red Wings A couple
- 43:23of trades to go over the big one. We just mentioned
- 43:25that we missed talking about last week somehow
- 43:28Carolina for Caroline Ford's Carolina Hurkings
- 43:31acquiring forwards Miko Reintanen from the Colorado
- 43:35Avalanche and Ford Taylor Hall from the Chicago
- 43:37Blackhawks. Carolina sends Jack Drury and Martin
- 43:41H .S. to Colorado with a second round pick in
- 43:44the 2025 draft and a fourth round pick in 2026.
- 43:48Carolina also acquires Chicago Ford Prospect
- 43:51Nils Juntorp and Chicago acquires a third round
- 43:54pick in 2025 from Carolina. And also 50 % of
- 43:59reincidence. That was like a what though? What
- 44:01the fuck just happened? Well, number one, what
- 44:04is Chicago thinking right now? Like, what are
- 44:07they thinking? You retain half a salary of a
- 44:11player you're not even going to talk about, and
- 44:14a prospect. Wait, who are they retaining? Chicago's
- 44:17retaining 50 % of Rantons. Yeah. What? Yeah.
- 44:22He didn't fucking play for them. What? Yeah.
- 44:26Chicago's getting 50 % of its contracts while...
- 44:29The other 50 % and the player is going to Carolina.
- 44:34What? That's fucking wild. I didn't know that.
- 44:38That's crazy. In one trade, they got Drury. No,
- 44:43they got Renton in the hall and a Prospect. And
- 44:47that's nuts, dude. That's the fleece of the century
- 44:51right there. At least that's worse than what
- 44:53we just talked about, the Don Chichuan. I think
- 44:54it was quite con, because con I were... I think
- 44:59this was like one of the intermissions, first
- 45:01or second. I think it was the second intermission.
- 45:04Connor and I were like, what? Like, why would,
- 45:10as Chicago, why would you accept that trade -off?
- 45:13You get a draft pick, and you get a salary that
- 45:17you don't have a player who's not even playing
- 45:19for you. That's nuts. Like, I didn't know that.
- 45:21That's crazy. I didn't see more wild. I saw the,
- 45:26uh, one of the Chicago... Blackhawks fan pages,
- 45:29they're outraged because of this. They're like,
- 45:32why? I'd be, yeah. I'd be. That was dumb of them.
- 45:37A couple more, one that everybody kind of saw
- 45:39coming and then a couple other ones that were
- 45:40just like, what the hell? Philadelphia Flyers
- 45:42acquire Ford's Andrei Kuzmanko in Jacob Pelletier,
- 45:46a second run pick in the 2025 draft, and a seventh
- 45:49round in the 2028 from the category Flames in
- 45:52exchange for Ford's Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee.
- 45:55That's when I was like, damn. Philly just traded
- 45:57two of their younger guys that have been there
- 45:59for a while now. Which I'm only guessing that
- 46:02both of those guys are due to be free agents
- 46:04or unrestricted free agents just based on their
- 46:08time, based on their age. I think they're both
- 46:10like 24, 25 years old. I didn't realize on Michael
- 46:14Misa's brother Luke was a prospect for Philly.
- 46:19I actually didn't know that. His brother was
- 46:24drafted by Philly. Also on January 31st, the
- 46:28Rangers reacquired JT Miller and defenseman Eric
- 46:32Branstom and Jackson Dorrington from Vancouver
- 46:35for forwards Philip Chittle, defenseman Victor
- 46:39Mancini, and a first round pick in the 2025 NHL
- 46:44Draft. That's another robbery from the Rangers.
- 46:49I think the Rangers robbed them. I think they
- 46:51could have gone at least a first and a second.
- 46:54Well, I mean with chiddle going out, I mean I
- 46:57get it chiddles a middle six forward No, we knew
- 47:01I mean we knew One of either pete peterson or
- 47:05Miller's gonna be trading that knew they weren't
- 47:06gonna treat peterson So so I'm not surprised
- 47:09about that trade. I wish penguins would have
- 47:11tried to get GT Miller I've always liked GT Miller,
- 47:13but instead the penguins got for Denton Hyden,
- 47:17defenseman Vincent D 'Arne, and for prospect
- 47:20Melvin Thurnstrom. And a first round pick of
- 47:2320 -25 for Marcus Pedersen and Drew Connor. That
- 47:29one kind of stung a little bit. I'm okay with
- 47:31Pedersen going. I know he's been on the training
- 47:33block for a while. It's a DLC that we make. That
- 47:36kind of hurts. I mean, I'm okay with just, DLC
- 47:40in my opinion has not reached the potential that
- 47:43he has and does. and has continued to show. I
- 47:47just don't think he's going to be able to reach
- 47:48that potential in Pittsburgh, at least not with
- 47:51the middle of this rebuild that we're in. And
- 47:53we've been dreading using that word for this
- 47:56team for the past couple years now. I really
- 47:58like that first round pick. Oh, I love that first
- 48:00round pick. When I see the stat the other day,
- 48:02I saw the thing I told you over the headset there,
- 48:06the game chat the other day. We have like 25
- 48:09picks over the first three rounds in the next
- 48:11three years or something like that. That's wild.
- 48:13No, I think it's 25 picks overall within the
- 48:16next three drafts, which is nuts. Which as long
- 48:19as we're, you know, we don't pull Jimmy Rutherford
- 48:22and trade all, you know, first round picks away
- 48:24for the next 10 years, then considering, I think
- 48:28we've only had one first round draft pick since
- 48:30he came in in 2013, 2014. Honestly, we had a
- 48:35first round just when they bought on and got
- 48:37Jager in it. Yeah, but that was the last one.
- 48:40That was the last one. Last year we had, we picked
- 48:42up... Who do we draft first round on this year?
- 48:46I can't have a first round this past year. I
- 48:47thought we did They didn't have a first round
- 48:49this past year. We definitely that's how we definitely
- 48:51did But I did the trade that went down yesterday
- 48:54the Dallas door stealth stars acquiring Ford's
- 48:57Mikael Grandland in defenseman Cody CC two former
- 49:00Penguins from the San Jose Sharks in exchange
- 49:02for a first round pick in 2025 in the third round
- 49:04in 2025 I was actually surprised they got They
- 49:08got a first round out of them. You get a first
- 49:11round out of Mikel Grandin and Cody Cece? Yeah,
- 49:14you got fucking robbed. Yeah. I mean, Grandin
- 49:17has had a great year with San Jose and he's finally
- 49:20living up to the potential that he had that I
- 49:22was excited to see in Pittsburgh and just never
- 49:24panned out. He was not good as a penguin. Our
- 49:27first round draft pick in the 2024 draft was
- 49:31used by Buffalo. Who did they take? Consta Hillinus.
- 49:36Okay, I thought we swear we had a first pick.
- 49:39I knew we traded our first round. Who was our
- 49:41first pick then? Who was in the second round?
- 49:44Please hold while I answer your call. Yeah, second
- 49:48round, pick number 12 in the second round. So
- 49:5144th overall for Harrison Brunneke. Brunneke,
- 49:54I knew it was like Brunneke, but I didn't know
- 49:56it was second round. And then we got one two
- 49:59picks later, Tanner Howe. Tanner Howe, okay.
- 50:02A defenseman then a left winger. All right, and
- 50:06now that was it for round two. Gotcha. I mean,
- 50:10yeah, like I said, I'm excited for the future
- 50:13of these Penguins games. Obviously right now,
- 50:16we're just not good. Like I said, we're not used
- 50:19to this as Penguins fans, to being as bad as
- 50:21we are. About to be our third straight season
- 50:23and missing the playoffs after making it for,
- 50:25what, 18 straight. There are a lot of guys that
- 50:29kind of hope... There's a handful of guys that
- 50:33are in... this year's draft they're in the third
- 50:35and gonna be projecting the first time kind of
- 50:38a couple form a couple honors matt's matthew
- 50:41schaeffer but she's not gonna drop that far away
- 50:42even if we drop all the way down like a sixth
- 50:44pick he's not gonna drop that far away low like
- 50:48high t on top if we can get if we can get i think
- 50:53we can get pick around nine ten eleven i think
- 50:56it'd be a good time to snipe snipe malcolm But
- 50:59even if we drop as low as getting the fourth
- 51:02pick, or even if we get a lottery pick and get
- 51:04the third, I still don't think Schaeffer's gonna
- 51:07drop that far. No. I can very honestly say Schaeffer
- 51:09possibly going first overall. Yeah, at the very
- 51:12least he'll go number two, number two is number
- 51:14three. Yeah, unless he has a horrific drop off
- 51:18like Shane Wright did that one year. He was all
- 51:21the hype to be the first and he ended up going
- 51:22fifth or sixth or something like that. Which
- 51:26I think that's the year what? Yaraj Tsiolkovsky
- 51:29won first. But yeah, like if they can't snag
- 51:34like Spencer or anything, like there are other
- 51:37guys that I kind of... Even like Michael Misa
- 51:41possibly. I say he'll be top five and then...
- 51:44Probably him. He was fourth. January was fourth?
- 51:47Okay. Seattle was. And 2024, yeah. Which was
- 51:51the same year as you were writing Tsiolkovsky.
- 51:54Because the top five is... King going either
- 51:57way. It's Schaefer, Haggins, Marton, and Misa.
- 52:03I mean, I think Marton is still pretty overrated
- 52:05personally, but I mean, we'll see. Nicole, you
- 52:11got your blind ratings this week? Yeah. I mean,
- 52:15I forgot to do this beforehand, but that's an
- 52:19easy thing. What do we got this week? That's
- 52:22the topic. So, it is first overall draft picks
- 52:28in our lifetime. Going all the way back to the
- 52:321997 draft. Coming in, no pun intended, first
- 52:38overall, in 1997, to Boston, Jumbo Joe Thornton.
- 52:46Okay. You gotta think, even the past 10 years,
- 52:50some of the talent that's come out with... Austin
- 52:52Matthews, Jack Hughes, Niko Heasher, Connor McDavid,
- 52:59even like Brian Nugent -Hopkins, Taylor Hall,
- 53:04Connor Medard, Sidney Crosby, all that talent,
- 53:09all of it, Ledgekin, Flurry, so I mean Jumbo
- 53:13Joe is great, I mean his career, I mean went
- 53:16on to have the career, you know, I think like
- 53:181200, 1300 career points, whatever, I think he's
- 53:20Going down is one of the greatest players to
- 53:22ever not win a cup. But just with how much talent
- 53:26there has been on the first overall slot, I think
- 53:29you have to go four, maybe even five. I'd say
- 53:34I'd push five. Will you put them all the way
- 53:36at the bottom right away? Yeah. Five, okay. Okay.
- 53:44I'm just making sure I get to the ball side of
- 53:46the same right, sorry. All right. Number two
- 53:49on the list, in 2019, To the Devils, Mr. Jack
- 53:54Hughes. Regards, I think it's safe to put him
- 54:19right in the middle at three. I put him at three
- 54:22He likes to fuck with us though and he's he's
- 54:26pretty he's gotten pretty good at this I know
- 54:27we've kind of read through him the first like
- 54:29one or two of these that he did but He's been
- 54:31he's been fucking with us. All right number three
- 54:33In 2024 to the San Jose Sharks Macklin celebrating
- 54:40it. All right, I mean four. Yeah We've just only
- 54:46seen this. Haven't seen enough out of them. That's
- 54:48what I said. I feel like we should have put Thornton
- 54:50at four, but that's okay. Alright. In 2003, the
- 54:59Pittsburgh Penguins draft Mark Andre Fleury.
- 55:03Number one. I mean, regardless, I'm okay. Even
- 55:05if you give me Obi or Crosby, I'm okay with either
- 55:08of those guys being at number two. No matter
- 55:10who you give us, I'm okay with them being at
- 55:11number two. You are gonna regret that. Even if
- 55:15it's Crosby, I'm okay with it being number two.
- 55:16You're gonna regret that. I hope you fucking
- 55:19know. You're gonna fucking regret that. And going
- 55:22into number two slot, in 2000, the year 2000,
- 55:27the New York Islanders draft goaltender Rick
- 55:30DiPretro. Oh, fuck. Yes! Damn, okay. I mean,
- 55:37he had a great run there early in his career.
- 55:40Just, you know. Biggest waste of contract in
- 55:42NHL history the 15 -year deal and what was it
- 55:44saying? Well, 2013 20 20 it goes to what? No
- 55:49fucking pain. I did and he's unbelievable He's
- 55:52still a broadcaster for them. So he's paying
- 55:54them and they're still paying him in more ways
- 55:55than one. So Fuck. I mean, okay, that's I mean
- 56:00drop it switch D. Pietro and Hughes around And
- 56:03maybe bump Thor and up. Yeah up to four and that's
- 56:06not bad. But I mean, I Don't hate that I just
- 56:10thought the fact I turned it on, I could guess,
- 56:12like, you're not gonna fucking regret this. Well
- 56:14I'm glad we didn't put Floria 2 in the DPS trial
- 56:16once. Holy shit. I'm okay with that. As soon
- 56:20as I heard 2003, I'm like, number one. Number
- 56:22one. Yeah. Do you only have one this week? Yeah,
- 56:25I only have one this week. I also have one of
- 56:28the same thing I did last week. So, do you guys
- 56:30remember the rules of what it was last week?
- 56:34Or not the rules, but what I did last week? No,
- 56:37I got I listed the ten players in the other guess.
- 56:40Oh, yeah, that's right. I did the same thing
- 56:42But uh, obviously new list of players All right,
- 56:46guess the category first name Thomas Tatar Players
- 56:54who've played for five plus teams. No, I'm gonna
- 56:57do that again Former player that played for the
- 57:02Red Wins. No, okay second Jack Johnson Dead weight.
- 57:11Players didn't play for five teams. Players didn't
- 57:14play for eight teams. Oh, God. Stay in the Cup
- 57:18Champions. Former Stay in the Cup Champions.
- 57:21Not a bad guess. Mitch Marner. See, I can't say
- 57:30players who would pick third overall, because
- 57:33Tatar was not picked third overall. So I can't
- 57:36go with that. In modern wasn't even third over
- 57:39on his he was six So it's hot so I think six
- 57:43or seven so first yeah, and you might you can't
- 57:47even see he wasn't drafted They were drafted
- 57:49in the first round because Tatar was never drafted
- 57:51in the first round. Yep. So that's gonna be wrong
- 57:55Next thing Matt Martin Jack teams are played
- 58:05in the metro I mean players that played in the
- 58:08Metro. Mitch Moran never played in the Metro.
- 58:10That's the player. That's right. I don't know
- 58:13why he said that. And we can't say, you know,
- 58:16players that have played in Toronto because Tatar
- 58:20never played for Toronto. And Johnson never played
- 58:22in Toronto. Okay, well, all I wasn't sure of
- 58:24was that was one of the ten teams that Jack Johnson
- 58:26played for. You're right. You did say this one
- 58:48was a little bit tougher this week. Guesses?
- 58:56No guesses? No. Steven Stamkos. Here's where
- 59:07Jersey numbers are. Oh, no. Never mind. I was
- 59:10going to say it because Mitch Warner's number
- 59:1216. And that doesn't fit. Ontario born players.
- 59:24Okay. That's nothing. Ricard Raquel. Oh fuck.
- 59:33I see something and then the next player makes
- 59:36me look like a fucking moron. That's so frustrating.
- 59:51A player that's actually won eight rounds. No.
- 59:57Next name, Brian Boyle. It's so simple that you're
- 1:00:08going to fucking hate me, but at the same time,
- 1:00:11like, you might, you should get some credit for
- 1:00:13thinking of these. Nothing? Nope. Mark Messier.
- 1:00:31And finally, Mike Modano. Fuck, you're... Why
- 1:00:36are we throwing that through the loop, man? I'll
- 1:00:41go through the ten again. Thomas Tatar, Mitch
- 1:00:44Marner, Jack Johnson, Matt Martin, Tyler Toffoli,
- 1:00:49Steven Stamkos, Ricard Raquel, Brian Boyle, Marc
- 1:00:53Messier, Mike Modano. The answer is quite literally
- 1:01:03in front of your face. Oh, players where like
- 1:01:08the first and last initials are... Alliteration
- 1:01:11names, yep. Fuck! I thought while I was trying
- 1:01:16to fuck with you guys like those first couple
- 1:01:18names and... Damn. I feel so fucking stupid for...
- 1:01:24I feel so fucking stupid for saying that. That
- 1:01:26was actually a pretty good one. Yeah, I was trying
- 1:01:28to fuck with you like putting the names in a
- 1:01:30certain order and... Alright, main topic, I know
- 1:01:56we really haven't done one these past couple
- 1:01:58weeks or months or... It's been a while. It's
- 1:02:01been a while since we came in with like, this
- 1:02:02is what we're talking about tonight. Yeah, so
- 1:02:04it's been a hot minute. And this is what it's
- 1:02:06been on our back burner for a couple weeks now.
- 1:02:09And what better time to do it than now, the week
- 1:02:12before the Super Bowl. It is the NHL to NFL fantasy
- 1:02:17draft. We originally were going to do the three
- 1:02:20of us. You know, we each pick a player to our
- 1:02:24teams for a position, any specific position,
- 1:02:28which we'll go over here in a minute. But then
- 1:02:30we decided, it's late enough, we're all tired,
- 1:02:33we all want to get through this. It's already
- 1:02:35about 20 minutes to 11, our time. It's time to
- 1:02:40record and so, yeah, Sunday night and we all
- 1:02:43work Monday morning, so. So, here are our positions.
- 1:02:46We're going to do a quarterback, a running back.
- 1:02:49two receivers, a tight end, and a flex position
- 1:02:52for our offense. And then for our defense, we're
- 1:02:55gonna do three linebackers, which two are the
- 1:02:58outside and one is middle, two corners, and two
- 1:03:02safeties. And so we're not doing either one of
- 1:03:04like the offensive line or the defensive line,
- 1:03:07just. Physically because obviously you can't
- 1:03:09tell you're not gonna have a 350 pound skater
- 1:03:12on me. I said be pretty wide You're only gonna
- 1:03:15some of these offensive linemen can be pushing
- 1:03:17350 400, you know defensive linemen can be pushing
- 1:03:20anywhere from 250 to 350 So you're only gonna
- 1:03:23find you know, four or five big boys and I ain't
- 1:03:26sure I'm just playing a jump later. You're gonna
- 1:03:28find is maybe like 250. So Yeah, good fucking
- 1:03:31luck, you know, we want to go in order but this
- 1:03:34is a name that immediately popped into my mind
- 1:03:36and I'd be like he'd be a perfect edge rusher
- 1:03:39you know like that that michael parsons or that
- 1:03:41t .j. watt ryan reese yeah i was gonna say he'd
- 1:03:44be perfect like a perfect edge rusher like you
- 1:03:46know like a t .j. white or a michael parsons
- 1:03:49yeah i was gonna say i was gonna put him down
- 1:03:51as an outside linebacker an outside linebacker
- 1:03:53yeah i was gonna put uh between him and who's
- 1:03:57the guy that you jeff i think you said the video
- 1:04:00a while ago between him and i think someone in
- 1:04:03club is that heavyweight fight yeah that What
- 1:04:06was his name? Yeah, Felix. I'll go try to find
- 1:04:12it real quick. That's a name that I popped in
- 1:04:15my head immediately when I as soon as we thought
- 1:04:17about this I'm like if I get the pick, I'm taking
- 1:04:19Ryan Rees as an edge roger immediately. I was
- 1:04:23gonna say for my first pick I was gonna go QB
- 1:04:25but I have Sidney Crosby as QB just because his
- 1:04:30mindset his vision to be able to see the playing
- 1:04:32surface whatever it is he has the perfect like
- 1:04:35I also have some perfect chill in a second. Okay,
- 1:04:38you guys follow me. I will lead us to victory
- 1:04:40I'll take us to the whole next level and I think
- 1:04:43that's something a QB Has to do be calm under
- 1:04:48any situation lead it lead them to glory glory
- 1:04:51town take all the blame if you lose and you know
- 1:04:55Cross be dedicated that's you know, that's dedicated
- 1:05:01to not just the sport but the team as a whole
- 1:05:04He's been through thick and thin with this team,
- 1:05:06obviously seeing the thin the past couple years
- 1:05:08here. But he's seen it all from the beginning
- 1:05:11of his career to now to the middle of his career
- 1:05:13and then during his height, the penguins height.
- 1:05:18That's a good one right there at the start. For
- 1:05:22running back, I would definitely have to go with
- 1:05:24a little bit of speed there, a little bit of
- 1:05:26agility. Both running backs and receivers, you
- 1:05:30need speed. Well, I'm thinking for agility wise
- 1:05:33as well, you know while carrying the ball or
- 1:05:36carrying the puck Connor McDavid I have to say
- 1:05:38is one of those guys who have obviously has proven
- 1:05:41that he has this puck hit the puck handling versus
- 1:05:43You know compare that to you know ball carrying
- 1:05:45and stuff like that and then just again Running
- 1:05:49back to the same time need to be a little bit
- 1:05:51more more build and Connor McDavid really isn't
- 1:05:54yeah no that's that's fair um so i can definitely
- 1:05:57see mcdavid is more of a receiver uh our wide
- 1:06:01receiver one i think so yeah um i found who reese
- 1:06:05fought that name is from columbus matthew oliver
- 1:06:09matthew oliver yeah matthew oliver is he that
- 1:06:12big i see he's 61 226 pounds oh wow okay i think
- 1:06:21they use that big All right, so for the offense
- 1:06:24we still need a running back our second wide
- 1:06:27receiver a tight end and our flex Tight end you
- 1:06:31want you want somebody that's you know, a little
- 1:06:33bit bigger I was there's two the one there's
- 1:06:36one. I mean they came to mind to me was page
- 1:06:38Thompson Yeah, that's a good one. There's our
- 1:06:42tight end the tight end. I like that Jeff I say
- 1:06:45Tate's Thompson immediately came to mind when
- 1:06:48we for tight end I'm gonna misspell these guys,
- 1:06:52I'm sorry. It's T -H -O -N -P. So a flex that
- 1:06:58can be, if we're doing this fantasy -wise, your
- 1:07:00flex can be either a running back, a wide receiver,
- 1:07:03sometimes can be a tight end. Can fit into any
- 1:07:06one of your slots. Me personally, when I play,
- 1:07:08I usually do a second tight end for my flex.
- 1:07:12They're nice, easy, kind of like fill in the
- 1:07:15play. Two running backs, two receivers, two tight
- 1:07:18ends. depending on the day and the matchups as
- 1:07:21well if I start them or not. I usually almost
- 1:07:24always have two tight ends in my team. Oh, middle
- 1:07:29linebacker, I was thinking Sam Reinhardt. He
- 1:07:32might not be the biggest, but he can lay down
- 1:07:34a couple hits if he needs to. Yeah, I mean that's
- 1:07:37fair. He's pretty quick too. Middle linebackers
- 1:07:45are the ones, I mean all the linebackers are
- 1:07:47the ones that need to be. fairly quick. You know,
- 1:07:52I'd be okay with that. All right, so we need
- 1:08:01our two corners, our two safeties, a running
- 1:08:04back, or two running backs, a receiver. No flex.
- 1:08:08No flex. So I've been trying to think of like,
- 1:08:11really somebody who would be a good running back.
- 1:08:13Somebody that's quick, but also is, you know,
- 1:08:16got a little bit of a build to him. I'm gonna
- 1:08:22have Tony from The Otters, but not NHL. One that
- 1:08:27I think is Alfie. For his fucking size, dude's
- 1:08:31got some speed. He's an all -around fucking dude.
- 1:08:34Just how he plays, he reminds me a lot, like
- 1:08:37Malkin and T .H. Thompson. Malkin in his prime
- 1:08:41days. That's the thing. It's prime, we forget
- 1:08:44he Malkin. I assume we're doing current only.
- 1:08:52Yeah, that was my thought behind it. Somebody
- 1:09:02very quick. I mean, I think he's one fastest
- 1:09:05skater in the past in some competitions is Jordan
- 1:09:09Kairou. I know he's really fucking quick. Dylan
- 1:09:12Larkin's also pretty fucking fast. I think Dylan
- 1:09:19Larkin could be. I mean, he's feisty. He's not
- 1:09:22a big dude, but he's feisty. You got Mort Sider,
- 1:09:28who's currently on an Iron Man streak of his
- 1:09:30own. Who's that? Mort Sider. Mort Sider? Mort
- 1:09:35Sider, yeah. Oh, really? We forgot something
- 1:09:37to order today, by the way, that just popped
- 1:09:39up. Jonathan Quick, 400. He actually did that
- 1:09:42during my last ones. Oh, I'm sorry. Did I just
- 1:09:45miss that? So, my bad. But um, what did I just
- 1:09:49say? Yeah, Jordan Kyra. I think he's got speed.
- 1:09:53Yeah Which is what you would want in like a wide
- 1:09:55receiver So I think I think Jordan Kyra could
- 1:09:58be a good second wide receiver Jordan Kyra I'm
- 1:10:09just trying to think of like bigger dudes that
- 1:10:11can be like a second middle linebacker, you know,
- 1:10:15right max, you know big big dude that still doesn't
- 1:10:17speed Claude Drew. The one out there. I mean,
- 1:10:27I mean, he's a big dude. I mean, for his age,
- 1:10:29he's still got a good amount of skill. Yeah,
- 1:10:31considering he's, you know, early to mid -30s.
- 1:10:34Early -mid. I'm just trying to think of fast
- 1:10:39guys that we can fit under that corner position.
- 1:10:42Yeah, some really quick dudes, yeah. Okay, this
- 1:10:52is a lot tougher than I thought it would be.
- 1:10:54This is very tough, yeah. When we had the set,
- 1:10:56they were like, oh, this is, it's right on the
- 1:10:57Super Bowl, and then they're like, oh, this is
- 1:11:00very tough. Um, I mean, not so much anymore for
- 1:11:07the speed, but I'm gonna be being pretty biased
- 1:11:12here is Evgeny Malkin. Piss him off, I dare you.
- 1:11:16I said that's kinda - Put him in a running back
- 1:11:18position and piss him off. I dare you, piss off.
- 1:11:21Evgeny Malkin has a running back. Just look at
- 1:11:24him, get a piss, be like, keep moving, you're
- 1:11:26fucking feeding Geno. Hey Geno, this guy said
- 1:11:29you're ugly. It's almost like the water boy,
- 1:11:33you know? I think Malkin would be a damn good
- 1:11:39running man. Piss him off and he's plowing through
- 1:11:41anything that's in his way. He'd be like... the
- 1:11:46russian version of the boss in that yeah the
- 1:11:49russian bus the russian bus i got a new second
- 1:11:53running back and then some corners and some safeties
- 1:11:56um would be a good just like a second oh and
- 1:12:00then a flex too um try to think of another like
- 1:12:05big big dude almost funny you don't want to put
- 1:12:10like a defenseman on like a flex they can you
- 1:12:13know What about a guy like Victor Hedman? He's
- 1:12:31got some size to him, he's got some muscle, he
- 1:12:33could definitely throw down a block or two, but...
- 1:12:35I mean, he can score, he can make plays when
- 1:12:38he needs to. Yeah, he's kind of like a two -way
- 1:12:41defenseman in Tampa's eyes. And he's not super
- 1:12:44quick, which tight ends are, you know, if people
- 1:12:47don't necessarily need to be. The tight ends
- 1:12:49are thrown in for short passing yards. You know,
- 1:12:52a third and short kind of thing, a two, third,
- 1:12:55and three. The other one I could think of immediately
- 1:12:57as well is Drew Dowdy as well. I mean, yeah,
- 1:13:01even for his age, he is still pretty solid in
- 1:13:04his... in his position but I do think I like
- 1:13:08the um or Brett Burns has some size has a little
- 1:13:13bit of speed there as a defenseman so yeah I
- 1:13:18like that the first one that we we just said
- 1:13:19here I like him at the flex and not somebody
- 1:13:26that didn't even know is gonna be there didn't
- 1:13:28even need to make a play every show time You
- 1:13:31know, even if, you know, maybe the plate you
- 1:13:33need him to make is a block, so then you're running
- 1:13:34back. Or just kind of like a, hey, the QB scramble.
- 1:13:38Here's some quick dump ops to get like two or
- 1:13:40three yards. Maybe not the first down, but keep
- 1:13:44keeping them wide. We can put somebody like Brett
- 1:13:45Burns at running back. At RB2? Or Doughty at
- 1:13:49running back. Which one of those two would be
- 1:13:50safe? Probably Doughty. I'd say probably Doughty.
- 1:13:56Doughty's a little bit quicker. Yeah. Right,
- 1:14:01so some corners and some safeties. Another one
- 1:14:03that I just thought of that recently participated
- 1:14:05in the fastest skater but wiped the fuck out
- 1:14:09was Count Lecar. I think he was the one that
- 1:14:12wiped the hell out, wasn't he? Yeah, I think
- 1:14:14he was. He's quick. He's a defender. He knows
- 1:14:16how to play defense. He knows how to take the
- 1:14:19puck away from the skaters when he needs to.
- 1:14:22That's really what corners and safeties really
- 1:14:24need to do. But where are we when it comes to
- 1:14:28corner or safety? I think with the speed, he
- 1:14:31can definitely keep up with the corners at the
- 1:14:33corner slot. I feel like safety, especially that
- 1:14:35free room and safety, you've got to have a better
- 1:14:38side of the side of the field. You can kind of
- 1:14:40flow around and go and run to where you need
- 1:14:42it. So I think my car definitely fits better
- 1:14:44in the corner. I would agree. So we need another
- 1:14:52corner and two more safeties. Mean it's helpful
- 1:14:59for like safeties to be a little bit taller.
- 1:15:00They don't have to be I'm a different helps if
- 1:15:04you're going against a tall fucking six foot
- 1:15:06five DK Metcalf, but I'm trying to think of some
- 1:15:13other guys that are just some other guys that
- 1:15:16have won fastest game and we said Dylan Larkin
- 1:15:18is pretty damn quick Yeah, the only thing that
- 1:15:23might you know deter him is his size is his height
- 1:15:28How tall is Donald Markin? I'd say he's about
- 1:15:325 '10", 5 '11". He might even be like 6 '1".
- 1:15:42Sorry, hold on. You're good. 6 '1". He has 6
- 1:15:45'1". Okay. I think that'd be a perfect height
- 1:15:48for a corner over safety, I think. Being like
- 1:15:54a centerman, you kind of... You know you need
- 1:15:57to be like it like it's like a city car, but
- 1:15:59you almost need to be Ahead of the whole play
- 1:16:01you need to be able to see everything you know
- 1:16:03with it's coming up on your wing or behind you
- 1:16:06you know Well, I think that he does something
- 1:16:08like that perfectly which the safety the free
- 1:16:10-roam safety would be The the perfect thing for
- 1:16:13him he can see the whole defensive side of the
- 1:16:16field what's going on offense? Okay, that's why
- 1:16:19I need to go for support. That's where I need
- 1:16:20to stay or maybe a free safety So you need another
- 1:16:28corner and then a strong safety. Those guys are
- 1:16:33typically the ones that are a little bit bigger
- 1:16:34or that usually stay focused on one area of the
- 1:16:38field. Just trying to figure out some other guys
- 1:16:46that still got some size and got some speed or
- 1:16:50if we wouldn't want to just spot out speed for
- 1:16:53another corner. I'm trying to think of some past
- 1:17:00participants in the fastest skier as of recently.
- 1:17:02I know I was a McDavid, but we already have him
- 1:17:04as a wide receiver. Nate Mack, Matt Barzell,
- 1:17:17Quinn Hughes, Cael McCarr, Braden Points. Quinn
- 1:17:21Hughes would be a good one. To put it in your
- 1:17:25second corner. Third fast yeah, I couldn't use
- 1:17:27third fastest in 2024. Barzell was the runner
- 1:17:31-up in 24. Oh yeah, Barzell too. I'm gonna put
- 1:17:36Barzell or Quinn Hughes at the second corner
- 1:17:38spot. I think Quinn might be our better option
- 1:17:45there as the defenseman. He's a lot better on
- 1:17:49one -on -one scenarios than what Barzell might
- 1:17:51be. Not just in Barzell because he's a good player,
- 1:17:53but like... Overall one -on -ones the defenseman
- 1:17:57might know a little bit better, but one -on -ones.
- 1:18:00Yeah Strong safety some guy like any really,
- 1:18:14you know, really kind of focus on one one spot.
- 1:18:19I Think if I'm not saying I think sure see there's
- 1:18:21one that typically will stay in like the uh either
- 1:18:25man coverage or um like zone coverage compared
- 1:18:31to what you know the free safety has can do whatever
- 1:18:34uh thus far fastest players this season or fastest
- 1:18:40fastest bursts or whatever uh number one Owen
- 1:18:45Tippett, Luke Hughes, Brayden Point, Nathan McKinnon,
- 1:18:48Connor McDavid, Valerie Nishuskin, Ramis uh Ramis
- 1:18:53No, sorry, Rasmus Kupari, Miles Wood, Ryan McLeod,
- 1:18:58and Brandon Tanev. Oh, Turbo. Turbo Tanev. Turbo.
- 1:19:04Turbo. He's a big boy. He's decent sized. He
- 1:19:10knows how to use his size to his advantage. Might
- 1:19:14be his mid size, but he knows how to use it.
- 1:19:17He's quick. He's very quick at being able to
- 1:19:20get... Get to a certain point when he needs to
- 1:19:24make a play whether it's a pet to lay down a
- 1:19:27hand take a shot Receive a pass, you know, whatever
- 1:19:30But I think that's I think turnouts will be a
- 1:19:35good a good spot to finish off here All right
- 1:19:42Well, we happy with this we have this assist
- 1:19:46I was tougher than I thought it'd be very difficult
- 1:19:48Yeah, no, you're right but very very age difference
- 1:19:54team here i mean you got you got the old guys
- 1:19:57that Crosby, Malk, and Downeyer Reeves and then
- 1:20:00you got some the offense is looking quite like
- 1:20:02the Pittsburgh Penguins well luckily we got some
- 1:20:07young guys like McDavid, Thompson, Kyra to kind
- 1:20:09of a like bring down the age age gap well just
- 1:20:13spread out the age gap but bring that average
- 1:20:15down The roster we have at QB is Sidney Crosby,
- 1:20:23our running backs are Evgeny Malkin and Drew
- 1:20:25Dowdy, wide receivers are Connor McDavey and
- 1:20:27Jordan Cairo, tight end is T .H. Thompson, our
- 1:20:31flex is Victor Hedman, our outside linemen is
- 1:20:37Ryan Reeves and Matthew Oliver, our middle linemen
- 1:20:41is Sam Reinhardt, our corners are Kel McCarr
- 1:20:44and Quinn Hughes, and then our two safeties are
- 1:20:46Dylan Larkin and Brandon Tanna. Which I like
- 1:20:49that That's actually pretty that's pretty solid
- 1:20:53not bad I mean, yeah, if I think there's definitely
- 1:20:55some names that we're missing there that we're
- 1:20:56gonna think of tomorrow Like this guy could have
- 1:20:58been a good outside linebacker No, I'm pretty
- 1:21:02happy with that There's something to get into
- 1:21:09the Super Bowl kind of I'm really glad we do
- 1:21:12Three of us doing our own, our own separate ones,
- 1:21:14because this would have, we would have been here
- 1:21:16a while. We probably would have been here just
- 1:21:18like midnight or 1 a .m. We would have been here
- 1:21:19for a while. I'm glad, I like how this turned
- 1:21:22out. Yeah, maybe another time when there's more
- 1:21:27time in the day that we don't have to worry about
- 1:21:29being adults the next day. So that's the thing.
- 1:21:35Yeah. Anything else to add? I don't think so.
- 1:21:39Oh yeah. Do a quick scan here. OV counter. 18.
- 1:21:4418 goals left until it happens. Beats Wayne's
- 1:21:49record. 17 to tie, but 18 to win. I think the
- 1:21:55other thing to catch up on is they named... Oh
- 1:21:59yeah, I literally just thought of that. They
- 1:22:01named the captains of the four nations faceoff
- 1:22:04teams. So for Team Finland? The All -Captain
- 1:22:09My Captain is Alexander Barkov with the assistants
- 1:22:13being Sebastian Aho, Mikhail Granlin, and Miko
- 1:22:16Rantanen. For Team Merica, Captain America, Austin
- 1:22:21Matthews with the assistants being Charlie McAvoy
- 1:22:24and Matthew the Chuck. No surprises here. Captain
- 1:22:28for Team Canada, Sidney Crosby. Let me wipe the
- 1:22:31shock off my face on that one. Everybody's saying
- 1:22:34everybody is saying he should be captain. There's
- 1:22:36no there's no assistance being Cal McCarr and
- 1:22:38Connor Mcdavid Which I'm very surprised they
- 1:22:40didn't give it to to Nate Mack. Yeah, I know
- 1:22:43Yeah, either Nate Mack or Marcia. I know there's
- 1:22:48a lot of people arguing saying that Mcdavid should
- 1:22:50have been captain but Mcdavid himself even said
- 1:22:52dude it's Sid. He said there's no other question.
- 1:22:55I feel like he said there is no question that
- 1:22:57it's Sid. I feel like if Sidney Crosby was not
- 1:23:02named captain of this Canadian team. Most of
- 1:23:05them would have sat out. Oh yeah. There's no
- 1:23:08question. And then team Sweden. Team captain
- 1:23:12is Victor Hedman. Jeff, do you want to go off
- 1:23:15and read the alternates? The assistants are Matthias
- 1:23:18Ackholm, Eric Karlsson, and William Nylander.
- 1:23:23It's going to be a fun tourney. I mean it starts
- 1:23:25what? The 15th? The 12th. The 12th, okay. I mean
- 1:23:29I'd definitely be down to... to get together
- 1:23:31and maybe watch a couple of those for sure. I'm
- 1:23:33actually excited. Even if we just hop into Discord
- 1:23:35and just watch it from the comfort of our own
- 1:23:37beds, our own couches at home. But yeah, it'd
- 1:23:41definitely be fun to watch and take some notes
- 1:23:43together and then talk about it. And kind of
- 1:23:47get a preview of what we can see in a couple
- 1:23:51years when the NHL returns to the NHL, I mean
- 1:23:54to the Olympics. When the NHL returns to the
- 1:23:58NHL. I mean, some of these names on here, there's
- 1:24:01a good chance that they might not, because the
- 1:24:02next Winter Olympics aren't until 28, right?
- 1:24:05Last year was the Winter Olympics, wasn't it?
- 1:24:06Yeah. Last year was summer. Oh no, 26, right?
- 1:24:10Last year was summer? Yeah, because we're not
- 1:24:12getting the NHL All -Star Games through 27, because
- 1:24:1625 is four nations, 26 is winter. Okay. Because,
- 1:24:22yeah, summer was 16 in Rio, should have been
- 1:24:2620 in Japan and 24 in France. Okay. Yep. And
- 1:24:31now it's going to be a 26 Winter Olympics. Let's
- 1:24:34see, a 10, 14, okay, yeah, cause 10, 14, 18,
- 1:24:3719, okay, yeah. I expect that though. Cause everything
- 1:24:39I was thinking last year was winter, but. Yeah.
- 1:24:41Honestly, I'm kind of excited. Yeah, I guess
- 1:24:43I remember the craze with a team that was saying
- 1:24:46basketball was pretty, pretty hype. So. Yeah,
- 1:24:49that's what I was going to say. It makes sense.
- 1:24:50This four nations face off gives us a preview
- 1:24:53of what we can expect in the. the Olympics next
- 1:24:57year or not? Now the only question that I would
- 1:24:59have, and it's around the superpower that Russia
- 1:25:03has, I wonder if they're able to perform in the
- 1:25:0826 Olympics. I know that's a whole political
- 1:25:11debate that I'm not going to get into. I know
- 1:25:13a lot of Russian athletes are being withheld
- 1:25:18from participating in certain things. Just with
- 1:25:22all the stuff going down between them. and Ukraine
- 1:25:26and stuff like that. But like I said, not our
- 1:25:29place to talk politics and get deep into that,
- 1:25:32but I know it could very easily affect, you know,
- 1:25:35if Russian players, if they even let Team Russia
- 1:25:37participate in the Olympics. Which would stick
- 1:25:39because, you know, again, Russia is a big superpower
- 1:25:42when it comes to hockey. They've produced a lot
- 1:25:44of fantastic hockey players in the past, and
- 1:25:47they'll continue producing them in the future.
- 1:25:52Upcoming Olympics could be the last time Ovi
- 1:25:54and Malkin would have a shot. No, it will be
- 1:26:01the last time. Ovi said that he's retiring after
- 1:26:04he breaks Gretzky's record. Which probably might
- 1:26:07be this year. Yeah, depending on if he really
- 1:26:10wants the playoffs or not. If he really wants
- 1:26:13something big or small. And we know Malkin's
- 1:26:16not gonna keep playing. Too much longer after
- 1:26:19this season. Oh, we can retire from the NHL but
- 1:26:22still stick around in hockey to participate in
- 1:26:24the Olympics next year Yeah, he can just retire
- 1:26:26from or you know, stop, you know retire from
- 1:26:28the NHL do not say I'm hockey as a whole I'm
- 1:26:31going back to St. Petersburg Russia to play to
- 1:26:34play Nikita I know that's what Malkin said something
- 1:26:36he wants to explore to is going back to his hometown
- 1:26:39or go back to Russia to play another year or
- 1:26:41two in the Russian Super League where he started
- 1:26:44play in front of family and friends, which I
- 1:26:47completely understand if you want to go home
- 1:26:50and play in front of family and friends. The
- 1:26:52famous line, me two years super league? Yeah.
- 1:26:55Just how he won the who gets to scan out last
- 1:26:59between him and Crosby. That's my second year
- 1:27:01in Danny Chell, me two years super league. But
- 1:27:06yeah, I mean it would be nice to see Russia return
- 1:27:12to the Winter Olympics. participate in hockey
- 1:27:14because that'll make more fun obviously you got
- 1:27:17the Canadian imagine a first line of like Malkin,
- 1:27:26Ovechkin and Kucherov oh my god would Malkin
- 1:27:33be on a first line on a team like that probably
- 1:27:36not but just imagine if he was a line of Malkin,
- 1:27:40Ovechkin and Kucherov I would shit breaks if
- 1:27:45that ended up being the case. That'd be insane.
- 1:27:48Yeah, hopefully. I know, did they not say NHL
- 1:27:50players will be allowed to play in the Olympics?
- 1:27:51Yeah, it's official. It's official. They didn't
- 1:27:53confirm that? Okay. I knew it was in talks that
- 1:27:55they may be allowed to return. I couldn't remember
- 1:27:57if it was confirmed or not. I remember when they
- 1:27:59did officially now. I do remember a couple seasons
- 1:28:02ago, we did reveal that. I think that was when
- 1:28:06we had the last Olympics. Might have been, yeah.
- 1:28:09They revealed that. Season three, right? Season
- 1:28:15two or season three. One of those two. It feels
- 1:28:19like it's been so long. I think that's about
- 1:28:23all we need to discuss and nothing much else.
- 1:28:28That's shown all the trades that happened. We're
- 1:28:34just doing the last second scan through here
- 1:28:35to see if we missed anything, which I don't believe
- 1:28:38we did. Well, I Want you guys to know I Want
- 1:28:52you to the fuck out of my house. I want to go
- 1:28:55I want to go bed I want to take my pain meds
- 1:28:58on a little better. So Easy peasy. Yeah, if you're
- 1:29:04following us already on everything just do it
- 1:29:06The fuck are you doing? I don't even need to
- 1:29:08say them all at this point, so... TikTok, don't
- 1:29:10bother, that's probably going anyway. They're
- 1:29:13supposed to leave and it came back, it's probably
- 1:29:14gonna leave again. And then it's gonna come back
- 1:29:16again. It's a dead app. That app sucks. I don't
- 1:29:20think I've even posted to our Bookbuster TikTok
- 1:29:23account in months now, so... Don't even worry
- 1:29:25about TikTok anymore. Keep an eye on our Twitter
- 1:29:27or YouTube. Breakback vibe! bring back by him
- 1:29:32and some of the dumbass blinds we can come up
- 1:29:34with it i will wholeheartedly take over. we would
- 1:29:37make some dumbass shit on the fly. i would do
- 1:29:40it both on my personal account and on the buckbusters
- 1:29:43account okay so yeah if you haven't already done
- 1:29:46that just do it it's been five years now guys
