- 1:44Speaker 1: turn them out, to turn turn the water the water. Come,
- 1:58Speaker 1: come on your thing, I show well a good monding. Everybody,
- 2:05Speaker 1: y'all listening to the voice. Come on, dig me now
- 2:09Speaker 1: one it only Steve Harvey got a radio show. You
- 2:12Speaker 1: know this week, I've just been on it, so today
- 2:15Speaker 1: it's no different. I'm telling you, I've just reinvigorated myself.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I'm more determined to share the principles of success. I'm
- 2:24Speaker 1: more determined to help and guide and teach as many
- 2:30Speaker 1: people as I can the things that I've learned. And
- 2:32Speaker 1: I mean, man, I've been through it. I have really
- 2:35Speaker 1: been through it. I kid you not. You know. I
- 2:37Speaker 1: used to say, Okay, God, you know, why is all
- 2:39Speaker 1: this happening to me? But as I've gotten older, I
- 2:43Speaker 1: understand that was the ingredients. I needed the ingredients to
- 2:47Speaker 1: beat this cake. I needed all those ingredients stirred up.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I need all of that different flavors, the stuff that
- 2:54Speaker 1: I didn't think tastes so good. All that stuff had
- 2:57Speaker 1: to come into the bowl in order for me to
- 3:00Speaker 1: get to where I am today. As much as I
- 3:03Speaker 1: did not like the taste of the ingredients, little did
- 3:08Speaker 1: I know God was making this cake, not me. But
- 3:11Speaker 1: what he did was and you've heard you the old
- 3:14Speaker 1: saying God could turn lemons into lemonade, Well that's what
- 3:19Speaker 1: he was doing now. At the time, it all had
- 3:23Speaker 1: a little funky lemonade lemony flavor to it, with some
- 3:27Speaker 1: other stuff in it too. I didn't care for it.
- 3:30Speaker 1: But little did I know that I needed everything that
- 3:33Speaker 1: happened to me to happen to me in the exact
- 3:36Speaker 1: order that had happened, in the exact array of things
- 3:39Speaker 1: that happened, for me to have a knowledge I have today,
- 3:42Speaker 1: the experience, the attitude, so I could turn around and
- 3:48Speaker 1: share that information. Okay, got that out the way. This
- 3:53Speaker 1: is what I want to give to you today. I
- 3:55Speaker 1: want you to understand something that discipline determines your destiny,
- 4:01Speaker 1: not your desire. Discipline determines your destiny, not your desire.
- 4:08Speaker 1: You've heard me say this how many times on the
- 4:10Speaker 1: show Okay, here we go against it. I got it.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Faith without works, it's dead. But let me tell you something.
- 4:18Speaker 1: To be a hard worker, you got to be disciplined.
- 4:21Speaker 1: That's one of the hardest lessons I'm trying to get
- 4:23Speaker 1: through to my sons. You've gonna throw yourself down a
- 4:27Speaker 1: cliff if you're not a young man or a man
- 4:30Speaker 1: that possesses discipline. Because they got something for undisciplined people.
- 4:35Speaker 1: They got some street laws for undisciplined people, and they
- 4:39Speaker 1: got some federal laws and state laws for undisciplined people.
- 4:44Speaker 1: That's why them signs is outside on the freeway, we're
- 4:47Speaker 1: gonna let you go fast. But seventy is the limit.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Seventy fast enough. Really, if you're disciplined enough of a
- 4:54Speaker 1: person to leave your house at the time you're supposed
- 4:57Speaker 1: to leave your house, seventy miles per is absolutely enough.
- 5:02Speaker 1: But if you're an undisciplined person, if you don't have
- 5:05Speaker 1: the wherewithal to leave your house on time, to get
- 5:08Speaker 1: ready to go where you want to go, see the
- 5:11Speaker 1: desires where you want to go, the discipline is how
- 5:15Speaker 1: you get there. You understand, you can want to go
- 5:18Speaker 1: to see your family in California, all you want, But
- 5:22Speaker 1: the flight leaves at one eighteen. You leave your house
- 5:26Speaker 1: at twelve or thirty. They told you you must check
- 5:30Speaker 1: in one hour before your flight. Now, if you ain't
- 5:33Speaker 1: got the discipline to get to the airport to check
- 5:36Speaker 1: in one hour before your flight, leaving your house forty
- 5:40Speaker 1: five minutes before the flight departs, what you think gonna happen?
- 5:44Speaker 1: Your desire to go see your family in la is
- 5:48Speaker 1: going to be thwarted because you lack the discipline to
- 5:52Speaker 1: prepare yourself and get yourself ready to do the things
- 5:56Speaker 1: that you have to do to make your desires come true.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I'm telling and you discipline determines your destiny, not your desire.
- 6:04Speaker 1: You can write down a list of stuff you want
- 6:06Speaker 1: to do all day, but if you don't produce and
- 6:09Speaker 1: show the discipline necessary to get there, what you think
- 6:12Speaker 1: gonna happen? Huh? Okay? I want to be rich, Okay,
- 6:19Speaker 1: I want to make four hundred thousand a year. Okay,
- 6:23Speaker 1: I want to be the best player that there is. Okay,
- 6:27Speaker 1: but you don't want to practice. See the cat that's
- 6:30Speaker 1: disciplined enough to show up at practice the shooting jumpers
- 6:33Speaker 1: when everybody going home, that's the guy that's gonna be
- 6:36Speaker 1: the best. The guy that's never late for practice, the
- 6:40Speaker 1: guy to study the playbook. That's the guy that's gonna
- 6:42Speaker 1: make it, not the guy that's talking crack I stalking
- 6:46Speaker 1: that smack. I'm gonna make the Pro Bowl, I'm gonna
- 6:48Speaker 1: make the All Star Team, I'm gonna be All American.
- 6:51Speaker 1: That's just what you're saying. But discipline determines your destiny,
- 6:56Speaker 1: not your desire. So now let's talk about this discipline.
- 7:00Speaker 1: What is that, really, Steve. That's your work ethic, that's
- 7:03Speaker 1: your hunger, that's your will. Discipline is how hard you're
- 7:09Speaker 1: willing to demonstrate the attributes and the traits to be
- 7:16Speaker 1: what you want to be. Did you hear me? It
- 7:20Speaker 1: is your willingness to conduct yourself in a manner that
- 7:24Speaker 1: is above and beyond what they say is necessary. Now,
- 7:28Speaker 1: this is a good example right here. Now. You can
- 7:31Speaker 1: want to be in the NFL all you want, but
- 7:34Speaker 1: they got this thing called the NFL Combines where they
- 7:38Speaker 1: bring in some of the top players at every position
- 7:41Speaker 1: to come in and they're gonna run a forty yard dash,
- 7:44Speaker 1: they're gonna do a standing broad jump, they're gonna do
- 7:47Speaker 1: a standing vertical leap. They're gonna do drills, running drills,
- 7:54Speaker 1: cutting drills. They can determine if a linebacker got stiff
- 7:58Speaker 1: hips by making him back pedal, point him in one
- 8:01Speaker 1: direction and throw the football in another direction. How does
- 8:04Speaker 1: he turn his body? Now you can say you can
- 8:06Speaker 1: tell everybody at your college you want to play pro football.
- 8:09Speaker 1: You tell everybody at your high school. You tell them
- 8:11Speaker 1: in Peewee you want to play pro football. But they
- 8:13Speaker 1: got tests for you though. It's called the combines. Now
- 8:17Speaker 1: you get out here and you have a bad combine day,
- 8:20Speaker 1: Ain't nobody trying to hear that. Let me tell you
- 8:22Speaker 1: how excuses don't work with people when they just trying
- 8:24Speaker 1: to get when they're trying to win in the NFL.
- 8:27Speaker 1: The fact that you had a bad day at the
- 8:29Speaker 1: combine and you don't run your best forties and you
- 8:33Speaker 1: keep telling them you could do better, they don't want
- 8:35Speaker 1: to hear that. Because see, what ain't nobody gonna pay
- 8:37Speaker 1: you for is to play on Sunday. And that's one
- 8:40Speaker 1: of your bad days. We're paying you to play on Sundays.
- 8:45Speaker 1: But because you keep having these bad days, because you
- 8:49Speaker 1: ain't discipline enough to put in the work to make
- 8:51Speaker 1: sure that your maximum can be called upon at any time.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Now you at to combine with some slow times that
- 8:58Speaker 1: go on your record. You have to comebine. You don't
- 9:01Speaker 1: jump as high as you did when you was at
- 9:02Speaker 1: the gym class. Well, hold up, man, this is show
- 9:05Speaker 1: day now in the NFL, Sunday is show day. What
- 9:10Speaker 1: they can't run the risk of is paying you your money.
- 9:12Speaker 1: And your bad day happened to be on Sundays after
- 9:15Speaker 1: we didn't cut your check. No, no, no no. We're
- 9:18Speaker 1: looking for people who limit them bad days, who got
- 9:21Speaker 1: the discipline to work hard, to make an effort for it.
- 9:24Speaker 1: You understand what I'm saying to your folks. Please understand this.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Discipline determines your destiny, not your desire. If you can
- 9:33Speaker 1: want it all you want, but if you ain't working,
- 9:36Speaker 1: if you ain't grinding, if you ain't hurting, if you
- 9:40Speaker 1: ain't sweating real bad, if you always somewhere, got to chill,
- 9:45Speaker 1: you got to have a cold one, you got to
- 9:47Speaker 1: smoke one, You gotta do all them things. Can't tell
- 9:50Speaker 1: you something you ain't gonna make it. Discipline determines your destiny,
- 9:56Speaker 1: not your desires. You're listening, ladies, and gentlemen, let me
- 10:04Speaker 1: have your attention please. What I'm about to do is
- 10:07Speaker 1: start something. And it's called the Morning Show. We invite
- 10:13Speaker 1: you to get with it, be about it and come on.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Yeah because we because I'm gonna tell you right now,
- 10:21Speaker 1: we're good as gone. Yeah, so you know I'm just

- 11:00Speaker 1: gonna bring it up the other day we're talking about racing.

- 11:09Speaker 1: a full week of worth, It's great to see a Friday.

- 12:19Speaker 1: What are you saying? Well? You you, you are on
- 12:22Speaker 1: the microphone. You're in accessory, Shirley. If you was a
- 12:29Speaker 1: rapper doing a rap battle, you're the one, because I'd
- 12:35Speaker 1: be killing people. Oh god, slaying them. Okay, it was
- 12:43Speaker 1: an oversight. Sit up Tommy? Um what oh wow, it

- 13:49Speaker 1: CLO Chief Love Officer Steve Harvey in the building. This
- 13:52Speaker 1: one is from Marrakesh, who's an iHeart Radio app listener.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Marrakesh writes, I'm a single mother with an eight year
- 14:00Speaker 1: old son that's an aftercare program because I've worked two jobs.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Last week I picked him up from the program and
- 14:08Speaker 1: he started telling me about the birds and the bees.
- 14:11Speaker 1: He knew most of the correct terms for everything. But
- 14:14Speaker 1: I was shocked and irritated that they would tell my
- 14:17Speaker 1: child all of this mess without my consent. I call
- 14:21Speaker 1: the director and she said it's part of their life
- 14:24Speaker 1: skills program. My father said to let it go, but
- 14:27Speaker 1: I'm still upset. Is this a violation of my parental rights? Well,
- 14:34Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know if it is or not.
- 14:37Speaker 1: I can't really help you too much with this. I mean,
- 14:40Speaker 1: he ate he probably wasn't ready to have that conversation, right,
- 14:44Speaker 1: But you know the way these kids is going now
- 14:47Speaker 1: with the Internet and all this stuff, It ain't you know,
- 14:50Speaker 1: to be the internet regular TV man? Yeah, she I
- 14:57Speaker 1: mean he knew the proper terms. Yeah, but you're eight,
- 15:01Speaker 1: you're in the third grade. If you're adee, She didn't know. Yeah,
- 15:10Speaker 1: she didn't know. Well, yeah, I don't. I don't know
- 15:13Speaker 1: what to tell you. I used the wrong terms till
- 15:15Speaker 1: I was fifteen. What probably would have helped you. I
- 15:20Speaker 1: use all street language till I was I didn't even
- 15:24Speaker 1: know what the real terms was. I would have appreciated
- 15:28Speaker 1: it knowing it earlier, educated, earlier. Yeah, uterus, what you
- 15:40Speaker 1: don't talking about that that thing now? No, it's a
- 15:44Speaker 1: hardy uterus. All you're talking about old, old, old when
- 15:49Speaker 1: you milking a cow, sir. No, I needed to class
- 15:56Speaker 1: when I was eight. Now, I think you. I think
- 15:58Speaker 1: your dad was right over the right. He knows now.
- 16:00Speaker 1: So you can't unteach six. And once you have it,
- 16:04Speaker 1: you can't just stop having it. So he's not having it.
- 16:07Speaker 1: You can't unteach six. Yeah, and her father said to
- 16:12Speaker 1: let it go. Yeah, but they're exposed to so much,
- 16:16Speaker 1: so much. Yeah, you want them to be innocent for
- 16:21Speaker 1: as long as possible. Girl, you want them too. I'm
- 16:26Speaker 1: saying ideally you want them to yea geographic But we
- 16:31Speaker 1: also had that J. C. Penny. You had that, Okay,
- 16:35Speaker 1: Patrick were on because nasty with it all right? Patrick?
- 16:43Speaker 1: And Alabama says, I've been with my girlfriend for two
- 16:46Speaker 1: years and I found out she's been cheating on me.
- 16:49Speaker 1: She lives with her best friend, and her best friend's
- 16:51Speaker 1: boyfriend is always at their apartment. The guy recently told
- 16:55Speaker 1: a mutual friend that he's had threesomes with his girl
- 16:59Speaker 1: and mine. He even showed him a video. I asked
- 17:02Speaker 1: my girl about it, and she admitted that has happened
- 17:04Speaker 1: a few times. Do I break up with her? Do
- 17:07Speaker 1: I ask her and her best friend for threesome two?
- 17:09Speaker 1: Still what you think? So? Yello? Well, I would for
- 17:13Speaker 1: I broke up with him? Yeah, because I mean clearly,
- 17:19Speaker 1: clearly they say you're not going down to out with her.
- 17:21Speaker 1: So you know, I take gonna make the best of
- 17:25Speaker 1: the situation. Since that he is in your head right now,
- 17:28Speaker 1: you know he's said her head in your heart, I
- 17:30Speaker 1: would go on and act on that. I tried at
- 17:32Speaker 1: at least see where it went. We did it a
- 17:34Speaker 1: few times. Well, well I want to do it now,
- 17:38Speaker 1: she said, Yeah, I didn't you know we're going to
- 17:41Speaker 1: break up with after while? Yeah? All right, Well Druan's
- 17:47Speaker 1: Virgin Islands, right, So I'm a thirty two year old
- 17:49Speaker 1: female dating a forty two year old man and we
- 17:52Speaker 1: just moved in together. He has a great job doing
- 17:55Speaker 1: real estate, and he's out in the heat daily showing property.
- 17:59Speaker 1: At the end of the day, he gets in our
- 18:02Speaker 1: bed with the sweat from the day still on his body.
- 18:07Speaker 1: There's one area in particular that gets the mustiest, and
- 18:12Speaker 1: he wants to use it on me every night. I've
- 18:15Speaker 1: asked him to take showers with me, but the only
- 18:18Speaker 1: he only showers in the morning. The must is affecting
- 18:22Speaker 1: our sex life. What should I do about this? Yeah? Well, see,
- 18:26Speaker 1: I don't know how you didn't notice for your mood
- 18:29Speaker 1: in but you know I'm not. I'm not living with
- 18:35Speaker 1: you in New Stay. That's just not what we're gonna do.
- 18:39Speaker 1: You're not you know I'm gonna do that. And you
- 18:42Speaker 1: need to switch your backs to evenings if you just
- 18:45Speaker 1: don't do one a day. I'm alright, yeah, but you're
- 18:50Speaker 1: gonna have to switch your wand to after you come
- 18:53Speaker 1: in say the one for you go, but here you
- 18:57Speaker 1: ain't need to take one because he's been sweating all day.
- 19:00Speaker 1: In better with you, he got to get that offer
- 19:02Speaker 1: them before we go in there and sell that house.
- 19:06Speaker 1: I mean, standing in the hot ass kitchen and everybody
- 19:09Speaker 1: started to us. What is this sour crap? This is
- 19:21Speaker 1: such a deal break up somebody in his cooking mutton.
- 19:26Speaker 1: What I gotta switch that one a day to the evening. Okay,
- 19:33Speaker 1: he needs to know this information. Well that's what she
- 19:36Speaker 1: got to propose to it. Look, I know you only
- 19:38Speaker 1: like babe wants a day. I'm saying, wait till you
- 19:41Speaker 1: come home, babe, so we can have a love life,
- 19:44Speaker 1: because if you don't, the love life is old. Yeah
- 19:49Speaker 1: with your client, you stink you weigh too damn right?
- 19:58Speaker 1: All right, a money and Burbank says. I'm twenty seven
- 20:02Speaker 1: and married to a great man that works overseas a lot.
- 20:05Speaker 1: I get bored and lonely, so I've had sex with
- 20:07Speaker 1: a guy across the hall a few times. I never
- 20:10Speaker 1: thought my husband suspected anything, but this weekend he came
- 20:13Speaker 1: home and said he put cameras in our place, so
- 20:16Speaker 1: I need to watch myself. I am scared straight now.
- 20:20Speaker 1: I told the other guy it's over. Do you think
- 20:23Speaker 1: that he has seen anything or is he just trying
- 20:26Speaker 1: to see how I react? Well, a little bit of both.
- 20:30Speaker 1: But he got cameras in the house. I'm just trying
- 20:34Speaker 1: to figure out how to man been in your house
- 20:36Speaker 1: and you've been going across the hall or as he
- 20:38Speaker 1: got you on camera going across the hall late. But
- 20:41Speaker 1: he just said you need to watch it. Yep. Most
- 20:45Speaker 1: men that no you cheating on him, don't issue one it.
- 20:49Speaker 1: So I can just tell you that right now. Okay,
- 20:51Speaker 1: maybe he suspects all right, thank you, Clo. Coming up next,

- 24:01Speaker 1: We don't ensure call girls strippers, Sir. I'm trying to
- 24:05Speaker 1: ensure my product. I mean the way it kind of
- 24:07Speaker 1: mean is right now, everybody got to look out for themselves.
- 24:10Speaker 1: But I got to ensure what I need to ensure,

- 24:40Speaker 1: what type of duties? We're gonna put down down exotic dance?

- 25:42Speaker 1: They're telling me that you are able to ensure me. Man,
- 25:45Speaker 1: you don't want coming back with some vogus, right, we

- 31:15Speaker 1: Amazon will no longer Oh yeah, they scared a day
- 31:18Speaker 1: gonna hand nobody. They're gonna have to close down that
- 31:24Speaker 1: is that's quick testing. Need. Damn people gonna you do

- 31:31Speaker 1: It's gonna be real. You're gonna be la. I didn't
- 31:35Speaker 1: order six umbrellas, right, jay, that's why they got that
- 31:42Speaker 1: half smile on the side of that truck. Everybody in
- 31:47Speaker 1: that high ye. So no longer marijuana marijuana test for
- 31:54Speaker 1: any employee who wasn't regulated by the Department of Transportation.
- 31:57Speaker 1: So basically now the delivery drivers, uh you know, they
- 32:02Speaker 1: can just go on and do their thing, as we
- 32:04Speaker 1: all know. But yeah, they're tested. But the driver, yeah,
- 32:12Speaker 1: I didn't love the employee parents what what we all know?
- 32:21Speaker 1: As we all know, of course, weed is legalized for
- 32:23Speaker 1: recreational and medicinal use by different states across the country.
- 32:27Speaker 1: You got to test them drivers, don't you. You know
- 32:31Speaker 1: what I mean? Amazon vans just be pulled over the
- 32:34Speaker 1: side of the up man. What you're doing? Oh I'm
- 32:39Speaker 1: sorry man. Not only that, if there's anything you eat

- 32:47Speaker 1: They'll eat your orders or packages. They know the packages.
- 32:53Speaker 1: They all the girls scout cookies. Man. Well all right Amazon,
- 33:04Speaker 1: luck with that? All right, all right, see here we go.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Time for our headlines. If she is, Ladies and gentlemen,
- 33:17Speaker 1: put your hands together from miss Anne trip. Thank you
- 33:20Speaker 1: very much, Steve. Good morning everyone out there. This is
- 33:22Speaker 1: a trip with the news the Biden administration donating tens
- 33:25Speaker 1: of millions of surplus COVID vaccine doses to the world.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Of the first twenty five million donated, seventy five percent
- 33:31Speaker 1: of that group going to a group called KOVACS that's
- 33:34Speaker 1: an international vehicle for getting vaccines to poor countries, while
- 33:37Speaker 1: the other twenty five percent is to be sent directly
- 33:39Speaker 1: to areas of the globe that the US is prioritizing,
- 33:42Speaker 1: like Mexico, Canada, Career, Iraq, the Gaza Strip, and parts
- 33:46Speaker 1: of Africa. Jake Sullivan is National Security Advisor. United States
- 33:50Speaker 1: is not doing this as some kind of back and
- 33:52Speaker 1: forth deal where we're getting something for what we're giving.
- 33:55Speaker 1: We are giving these for a single purpose. It is
- 33:59Speaker 1: the purpose of ending this pandemic, and that's what they
- 34:03Speaker 1: want to do when they say that it's just the
- 34:04Speaker 1: right thing to do for the world. Actually, in Minneapolis yesterday,
- 34:07Speaker 1: construction crews reopened the intersection where George Floyd was murdered
- 34:11Speaker 1: last May. That was thirty nine Street in Chicago. It's
- 34:13Speaker 1: apparently the first time more than a year that that
- 34:15Speaker 1: street's opened. Community activist Steve Floyd part of a group
- 34:18Speaker 1: called Change Incorporated, which he says, approached city fathers about
- 34:22Speaker 1: reopening it. They're going to block out the George Floyd
- 34:25Speaker 1: memorial area where he was murdered. They also going to
- 34:27Speaker 1: do the other side to protect the mural on the wall.
- 34:30Speaker 1: They're not removing anything, and exactly they're going to put
- 34:32Speaker 1: bump outs for the restaurants so they can have people
- 34:35Speaker 1: out there dining during the summer. However, word is another
- 34:38Speaker 1: group has stopped the total reopening of that little area,
- 34:41Speaker 1: demanding that their list of demands be addressed first. So
- 34:43Speaker 1: stay tuned. I'll keep your press of what's going on there.
- 34:46Speaker 1: Looks like after many years, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin nat
- 34:48Speaker 1: Yaho's enemies have finally banded together to get him out.
- 34:51Speaker 1: That is Nitt and Yah, who still fights corruption charges
- 34:54Speaker 1: in the Israeli courts. The FBI investigating Postmaster General Lewis
- 34:58Speaker 1: did Joy in his political fundraising activities when he owned
- 35:01Speaker 1: his own business. The Joy criticized last year accused of
- 35:04Speaker 1: getting rid of sorting machines and post offices in an
- 35:07Speaker 1: effort to slow the mail in presidential votes to help
- 35:10Speaker 1: Donald Trump. In fact, the Joy reportedly donated one the
- 35:13Speaker 1: million of dollars of his own money directly to the
- 35:15Speaker 1: Trump campaign. Okay, this is the contin news I like
- 35:18Speaker 1: to report. A Tulsa, Oklahoma nonprofit is gifting one hundred
- 35:21Speaker 1: thousand dollars to each of the three known century old
- 35:25Speaker 1: survivors of the Black Wall Street massacre in nineteen twenty one.
- 35:28Speaker 1: They each get one hundred thousand dollars. The racist, jealous
- 35:31Speaker 1: whites looted black middle class homes and businesses before burning
- 35:34Speaker 1: down some forty square mop blocks of that neighborhood. That's wonderful.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Sometimes you just don't know what's going on with people.
- 35:41Speaker 1: In casing point, a woman in Texas filmed at the
- 35:43Speaker 1: El Paso Zoo climbing into the monkey cage and feeding
- 35:46Speaker 1: them flaming hot cheetos. I don't know that woman's identified
- 35:51Speaker 1: as Lucy Ray, the Zoo's director, says she's both stupid
- 35:54Speaker 1: and lucky. Now back to Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're
- 35:57Speaker 1: listening to Harvey Morning Show. All right, come on, Steve
- 36:02Speaker 1: introduced him, you hired him. He is here, he's at
- 36:05Speaker 1: work today, Jay Anthony Brown, Yes, all right. Lately, lately
- 36:12Speaker 1: they have run out of names for hurricanes, so I've
- 36:16Speaker 1: come up with some names. Not these good names will
- 36:19Speaker 1: just will add to the seriousness of what a hurricane
- 36:22Speaker 1: really is. When you hear these names, hurricane, you better
- 36:27Speaker 1: get your ass a generator that will name hurricane. How
- 36:33Speaker 1: about the hurricane save up for a water pump. That's
- 36:36Speaker 1: a good name for a hurricane. How about this one hurricane?
- 36:41Speaker 1: Your cow might be in another state. I like that
- 36:46Speaker 1: nothing cattle hurricane. If I was you, I load up
- 36:52Speaker 1: the car right now. CEM saying, just say the seriousness
- 36:58Speaker 1: hurricane storm. One of those might not be a bad idea. Okay,
- 37:02Speaker 1: I'm about this one hurricane play If you won't to
- 37:07Speaker 1: right favorite hurricane, you can sit here and write it
- 37:12Speaker 1: out if you won't to. But we's leaving hurricane Hurricane.
- 37:19Speaker 1: I'm not going back for no damn chat. How about
- 37:23Speaker 1: that one Hurricane. All right, grandmama, I'm gonna ask you
- 37:29Speaker 1: one last damn time are you going with us? And
- 37:33Speaker 1: the last one is Hurricane the hell with this house?
- 37:38Speaker 1: Let's go see that has importance. Let me add two
- 37:44Speaker 1: for you add go ahead, lady and gentleman, Hurricane ass ripple.
- 37:52Speaker 1: That's gonna make you leave. Here's another, My last one, Hurricane,
- 37:59Speaker 1: Ah funny Hurricane you thought the weather man was playing? Okay?
- 38:10Speaker 1: How about that Jay Jay, Hurricane be down when I
- 38:17Speaker 1: get them? We played too much a hurricane, best time
- 38:29Speaker 1: to get out your marriage right now? Got deep with
- 38:36Speaker 1: too much. I got one more for you, Hurricane floating away.
- 38:47Speaker 1: That's a good one. How about Hurricane I told you
- 38:50Speaker 1: to buy a boat, but nay, Hurricane. All the kids
- 38:59Speaker 1: came go pick one serious? Thank you? Yeah on your
- 39:12Speaker 1: roof coming up at thirty four minutes after the hour.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Who inspired you to step your game up? We'll talk
- 39:19Speaker 1: about it right after this. You're listening to show, all right,
- 39:25Speaker 1: So Steve, earlier this week you mentioned that you saw
- 39:27Speaker 1: this video the other day when jay Z, you know,
- 39:32Speaker 1: when he was asked about DMX and he said that
- 39:34Speaker 1: DMX inspired him to step up his stage game. If
- 39:38Speaker 1: you recall, the two toured together back in nineteen ninety
- 39:41Speaker 1: nine on the Heart Knock Life tour, and Jay said
- 39:44Speaker 1: watching DMX made him improve his performances. He discussed on
- 39:49Speaker 1: Lebron James's show The Shop. Take a Listen, X is
- 39:53Speaker 1: about gone and I'm like, you know, I want to
- 39:55Speaker 1: see I got to go for you. This is gone
- 39:57Speaker 1: before and then he goes and the arena ghost the
- 40:04Speaker 1: first bood deafening, and I'm like, oh, he has a
- 40:08Speaker 1: thing like an Alexa and Hennessey mix. It looks like blood,
- 40:13Speaker 1: like he's drinking blood, right, and he's running back and forth.
- 40:17Speaker 1: I'm halfway through the show. Then he takes his shirt
- 40:22Speaker 1: off and the dog chain and he's going nuts, right,
- 40:29Speaker 1: And I'm like, first the guys are going crazy, Now
- 40:33Speaker 1: the girls are going crazy. And then he gets to
- 40:35Speaker 1: the end and he starts a prayer and now I'm
- 40:39Speaker 1: there crying. The whole arena is crying, and I'm like,
- 40:44Speaker 1: They're like, hey, now you go. So then it begs
- 40:51Speaker 1: the question, guys, who inspired you to step your game up?
- 40:54Speaker 1: Steve Well, honestly speaking, yeah, he said it because he's
- 40:59Speaker 1: on the show. But j Anthony Brown, Wow, Jonathony Brown
- 41:03Speaker 1: was the first major influence I had in comedy. Man.
- 41:07Speaker 1: This dude he was such an animal up there, man,
- 41:11Speaker 1: And I didn't know how to do it like he
- 41:13Speaker 1: was doing it. He was in front of white people
- 41:16Speaker 1: doing black jokes and just this it y'all, y'all, don't laugh,
- 41:22Speaker 1: go somewhere. But and it came from a came from
- 41:25Speaker 1: a real black perspective. And I was standing up. I
- 41:30Speaker 1: was standing in the back. Man, I don't going down,
- 41:33Speaker 1: dude like he's saying what he wanted to say. He
- 41:35Speaker 1: was just doing jokes. And I mean, it was my
- 41:38Speaker 1: first week out on the road, and that ten days
- 41:42Speaker 1: with him was an eye opener for me, man, because
- 41:46Speaker 1: that's when I started saying, hold up, man, I got
- 41:49Speaker 1: to get to be in mo me because this dude
- 41:52Speaker 1: was just black and on stage and making money and headlining.
- 41:57Speaker 1: So for me in the very beginning, I kid you,
- 42:00Speaker 1: it was just dude right here, Jay Anthony Brown. And
- 42:03Speaker 1: it started a friendship that has been around for over
- 42:07Speaker 1: thirty some years, man. And and and that's that's that's
- 42:11Speaker 1: real talk, man, that's the honest. If everybody tell my story,
- 42:15Speaker 1: if they don't put Jay in a day dan't told
- 42:18Speaker 1: my story because he was there at the beginning. That's
- 42:21Speaker 1: so Maju. What about Jay? What what about you? J?
- 42:25Speaker 1: I would say when I would see Steve, you know,
- 42:27Speaker 1: when he like he said, got his groove when you
- 42:29Speaker 1: know he was just fearless. I would go to like
- 42:32Speaker 1: audition when I saw him audition for the Apollo, like
- 42:35Speaker 1: we were together. You know, he was auditioned for the Apolo.
- 42:38Speaker 1: I saw my auditions for Starship, seeing that I was
- 42:40Speaker 1: seeing my audition for everything. I don't know why I
- 42:43Speaker 1: ended up there, but he was just fearless at what
- 42:46Speaker 1: he did. But you know, it made me step up
- 42:49Speaker 1: my game when he gave us, when he gave me
- 42:51Speaker 1: in Reshun that shot to write on the show, because
- 42:54Speaker 1: he said, if I can't write, if I'm not gonna
- 42:57Speaker 1: if y'all gonna give me the show and you're not
- 42:58Speaker 1: gonna take these two dudes right here. And I'm sitting
- 43:01Speaker 1: there going, man, I don't know how to write on
- 43:03Speaker 1: them damn show. He's talking about. We're not writers, we're comedians.
- 43:09Speaker 1: So it made me step up my game as a writer.
- 43:12Speaker 1: It really did, you know, and learned what it was.
- 43:14Speaker 1: And we were sitting in the room. We were the
- 43:16Speaker 1: only two black guys in there, and to have them
- 43:18Speaker 1: talk across us and talk as if we weren't sitting
- 43:21Speaker 1: in the room. But we made some good decision that
- 43:24Speaker 1: we made some good points on telling Steve what this ain't,
- 43:26Speaker 1: what this show was about. This, this is not real
- 43:29Speaker 1: the way they were trying to make it go. And
- 43:31Speaker 1: for me that that was it. But see, that was
- 43:34Speaker 1: me trying to pay him back for what he had
- 43:38Speaker 1: done for me in eighty six. So in ninety one
- 43:43Speaker 1: it was my chance to give him back. So because
- 43:46Speaker 1: he gave me everything, I wouldn't even be this type
- 43:50Speaker 1: of comedian man if I hadn't seen Jay Anthony Brown
- 43:53Speaker 1: talking about Willy the Gorilla down in Atlanta, and he
- 43:56Speaker 1: didn't give a damn if you ever saw Willie the
- 43:58Speaker 1: Gorilla when he told Joe ass was looking at Willie
- 44:01Speaker 1: that night. I love that. I love that amongst friends.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Coming up next to the nephew is here with the
- 44:15Speaker 1: pryank phone call. Right after this, you're listening to Steve
- 44:19Speaker 1: Morning Show. Coming up at the top of the hour,
- 44:23Speaker 1: right about four minutes after, it's my Strawberry letter for today.

- 44:32Speaker 1: his ex wife won't let me visit him. We'll get

- 48:44Speaker 1: even funny. Man. I'm calling it insurance funny telling they
- 48:46Speaker 1: get me doctor. But you think it's funny. Hey, it
- 48:49Speaker 1: ain't funny, man. You know you're making a little joke. Man,
- 48:51Speaker 1: ain't funny. Man. I'm taking a thin man. I'm forgetting

- 49:24Speaker 1: tests back when you do have the parasites, and what
- 49:26Speaker 1: we want to do is make sure we get them
- 49:28Speaker 1: completely cleared out. The only way I can clear that
- 49:31Speaker 1: out is to remove that testicle. He's man, it's the man.
- 49:35Speaker 1: I got no hairsites. Man, May y'all here running out

- 50:34Speaker 1: I'm not hangar. I ain't gotta goring Sangar. I got
- 50:44Speaker 1: not something that's transmitted. It doesn't come from another another

- 51:37Speaker 1: with the problem at all. He don't want to deal
- 51:38Speaker 1: with the problem. He was just kicking him up and
- 51:41Speaker 1: he just want to fight. Pick one, okay, the one

- 52:44Speaker 1: Did Matt Knee's man Wow legend? Man? I tried that
- 52:49Speaker 1: one time. I did a show for kids that I
- 52:52Speaker 1: was supposed to a forty five minutes set. That set
- 52:55Speaker 1: lasted fifteen minutes, pass getting no wof what did he
- 53:02Speaker 1: just say? Hey, I was on stage. I didn't hand
- 53:11Speaker 1: no show for no kids. I don't know why they
- 53:13Speaker 1: were doing here all right, thinking of you coming up.
- 53:16Speaker 1: I think I think what made him walk out was
- 53:18Speaker 1: when I said, shut your little punk ass, wandering little
- 53:23Speaker 1: shut your little punkass. His ex wife won't let me
- 53:28Speaker 1: visit him. We'll get into it right after this. You're

- 53:58Speaker 1: We got it for you here. It is the Strawberry
- 54:00Speaker 1: lettuce subject his ex wife won't let me visit him.
- 54:04Speaker 1: Dear Stephen Shirley, My boyfriend and I have been dating
- 54:07Speaker 1: for about five months and he's the best man I've
- 54:11Speaker 1: ever been with, and he treats me really good. There's
- 54:14Speaker 1: a situation that I'm dealing with and my man doesn't
- 54:17Speaker 1: understand why it's bothering me. When we first met, he
- 54:21Speaker 1: had just gotten a divorce. I mean it was literally
- 54:24Speaker 1: finalized the day before I met him. Because it was
- 54:28Speaker 1: a quick divorce, he was still living in the house
- 54:31Speaker 1: he shared with his wife. He said they didn't put
- 54:34Speaker 1: the house in the divorce settlement because it was his
- 54:36Speaker 1: wife's house in her name. I thought within months of
- 54:40Speaker 1: getting a divorce he'd move out. We even went to
- 54:43Speaker 1: look at apartments and rental houses together. Then he informed
- 54:48Speaker 1: me that he decided to stay in the house with
- 54:51Speaker 1: his ex wife because she agreed to let him rent
- 54:54Speaker 1: his man cave area of the house. He said. The
- 54:57Speaker 1: room is on the second floor and it's got a
- 55:00Speaker 1: bathroom attached to it and a wet bar section with
- 55:03Speaker 1: a tiny fridge in it. He said he's got access
- 55:06Speaker 1: to a bedroom upstairs too, because his wife doesn't go
- 55:10Speaker 1: upstairs at all. I asked him about the common areas
- 55:13Speaker 1: they have to share, and he assured me that he
- 55:16Speaker 1: had it all worked out. This has put a strain
- 55:19Speaker 1: on our relationship because he has to stay at my
- 55:22Speaker 1: house all of the time since I'm not allowed to
- 55:25Speaker 1: visit him or even step foot on this woman's property.
- 55:29Speaker 1: I popped over there last week to see what would happen,
- 55:32Speaker 1: and his ex wife met me at the door and said,
- 55:34Speaker 1: if I don't like her rules, then I should let
- 55:37Speaker 1: him move in with me. I left and called and
- 55:39Speaker 1: cursed him out. He doesn't understand how crazy this is.
- 55:43Speaker 1: I'm getting the vibe that he's a sorry but man, right,
- 55:50Speaker 1: that's what she said. What is really going on here?
- 55:52Speaker 1: Please help you know what. I don't like this situation
- 55:57Speaker 1: at all for you, because this arrangement is just really stupid.
- 56:02Speaker 1: I mean, what are you getting out of this? You're
- 56:04Speaker 1: getting nothing but stress and misery and unhappiness. This so
- 56:08Speaker 1: called best guy that you've ever had is living with
- 56:12Speaker 1: his ex wife and paying her rent to live there.
- 56:15Speaker 1: As much time as you say he spends at your place.
- 56:18Speaker 1: Why don't you charge him rent? You should be charging
- 56:21Speaker 1: him rent. Maybe that will help him to understand that
- 56:25Speaker 1: it's time to get out of his wife's house and
- 56:28Speaker 1: move on with you in his life. That means getting
- 56:32Speaker 1: his own place. You said, you guys have looked at places.
- 56:35Speaker 1: What happened. That means getting his own place where you're invited,
- 56:38Speaker 1: where you can go over there and hang out and
- 56:41Speaker 1: spend the night, things like that that couples do. It
- 56:44Speaker 1: makes absolutely no sense for him to still be staying
- 56:47Speaker 1: there unless unless he's, you know, having trouble letting go.
- 56:53Speaker 1: He might be. Remember you said, he treats you really well,
- 56:58Speaker 1: so he should have moved out when his wife spoke
- 57:00Speaker 1: to you so rudely when you popped up over there
- 57:03Speaker 1: history behind did nothing. Okay, he's not right for you.
- 57:08Speaker 1: I mean, he can barely take care of himself at
- 57:11Speaker 1: this point, so you need to do for yourself when
- 57:13Speaker 1: he can't do for himself, and let's move on. It's
- 57:17Speaker 1: only been five months. You'll be all right. You'll be
- 57:19Speaker 1: all right, Steve. Wow, this letter got I don't believe
- 57:25Speaker 1: it written all over it. Yeah, I do not understand
- 57:31Speaker 1: why this woman is writing this letter because it don't
- 57:34Speaker 1: make no sense. How much time I got to deal
- 57:36Speaker 1: with this before we go to break? All right? Say
- 57:39Speaker 1: here it does. Now you first met this man, best
- 57:42Speaker 1: man you ever had, being never treat you really good.
- 57:47Speaker 1: We first met he had just gotten divorced. I literally
- 57:50Speaker 1: finalized the day before I met him. Danger danger, We
- 57:55Speaker 1: don't rob it. Some danger Jess got out. Now, I
- 57:58Speaker 1: know marriages are over long before the data is finalized,
- 58:02Speaker 1: so they'd probably been going through this. But you did
- 58:04Speaker 1: say it was a quick divorce. So he was still
- 58:06Speaker 1: living in the house that he shared with his wife,
- 58:08Speaker 1: and they didn't put the house in the divorce settlement
- 58:10Speaker 1: because it was his wife's house in her name, where
- 58:13Speaker 1: you can't put it in the divorce settlement because of
- 58:16Speaker 1: what he did, DA bought about the quick divorce. You
- 58:21Speaker 1: never mentioned that, and now you ain't getting this house.
- 58:25Speaker 1: You got to get out this my damn house. So
- 58:29Speaker 1: now that's why that didn't get put in the divorce settlement.
- 58:33Speaker 1: I thought after months, I thought within months of getting
- 58:36Speaker 1: a divorce, he'd moved out. Y'all went to look at
- 58:38Speaker 1: apartments and rental houses together. He wasn't serious, He was
- 58:42Speaker 1: just you know, you know, appeasing you. Then he informed
- 58:46Speaker 1: me that he decided to stay in the house with
- 58:48Speaker 1: his ex wife because she agreed to let him rent
- 58:52Speaker 1: his man cave area of the house. He said, the
- 58:56Speaker 1: room is on the second floor, and this got a
- 58:59Speaker 1: bathroom attached to it, a wet bar section with a
- 59:05Speaker 1: tiny fridge in it. Listen to me, You mean to
- 59:09Speaker 1: tell me that a man gets divorced and his option
- 59:14Speaker 1: is to stay in the house with the wife that
- 59:18Speaker 1: you've divorced because you got a man cave in it
- 59:23Speaker 1: with a access to a bathroom and a tiny fridge.
- 59:28Speaker 1: Now later on and say, and the bedroom is he's
- 59:31Speaker 1: accessible is on another floor? What girl? A man cave
- 59:37Speaker 1: can't mean nothing much to you if you ain't the
- 59:41Speaker 1: king no more. See a man cave is only good
- 59:45Speaker 1: is if you're the king and you got a man cave.
- 59:49Speaker 1: But if you ain't the king no more. You ain't
- 59:52Speaker 1: got a man cave. You're a renter. Matter of fact,
- 59:56Speaker 1: you just airbnb. I don't even see how you. He
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: ain't got nothing. When we come back, I'm gonna break
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: your heart. I'mnna break y'all. All right, Steve, hang on,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: we'll have part two of your response. Man Cave got
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: a little boy, got a tiny fridge, A little bitty
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: fridge coming up. Steve's response, Part two at twenty three
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: minutes after the hour Strawberry Letters. Subject for today his
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: ex wife won't let me visit him. We'll get back
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: into it right after this. You're listening, all right, Steve,
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: Come on, let's recap today's Strawberry letter. The subject his
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: ex wife won't let me visit him. This man got
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: a divorce. You met him right after he got the divorce, y'all,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: the best man you ever met, you save. It was
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: a quick divorce, so they didn't put the house into
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: the divorce settlement because it was his wife's house and
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: in her name, So you thought. Within months of getting
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: a divorce, he moved out, y'all, went apartment looking and
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: everything that was just to appease you. Then he informed
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: you that he decided to stay in the house with
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: his ex wife cause she agreed. She agreed to let him.
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: Written his man Cave area of the house. Now, he said,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: the room is on the second floor. It's got a
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: bathroom attached to it, which anything that's got a bathroom
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: attached to it on the second floor is not a
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: full band. It's a half bad sink tarlet. I want
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: you to understand this now. They don't put showers and
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: stuff on little areas that don't have beds, not in
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: regular houses. They don't. I'm just telling you. He said,
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: the rooms on the second floor, it's got bathroom attached
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: to it and a wet bar section, so that means
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: as a sink, a sink over there with a tiny
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: refrigerator in it. He got access to a bedroom, but
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: the bedroom is upstairs because his wife doesn't go upstairs
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: at all. What in her house she don't go upstairs
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: at all? So you asked him about the common areas
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: that they have to share, and he assumed me, assured
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: me that he has had it all worked out, so
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: now he don't even have an area of his own.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: He got common areas with his ex wife. This has
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: put a strain on your relationship because he's had to
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: stay at my house all of the time since I'm
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: not allowed to visit him or step foot on this
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: woman's property. Now guess what this crazy woman does. I
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: popped up over that last week to see what would happen,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: and his ex wife met me at the door and saying,
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: if I don't like her rules, then you should then
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: I should let him move in with me. First of all,
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: you should have never done that. And what you think
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: the woman was gonna say, oh, hey, nice to meet you,
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: come on in her house that's in her name. That
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: he hadn't already He hadn't told him, she hadn't told him.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: He ain't the king no more. This ain't a man cave.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: This a room. I'm gonna give you access to a
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: bad room that's upstairs, and you're gonna pay me money.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: And then told you if you don't like the rules,
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: in order to let him move with me, I left
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: called and cuts him out. What you cuts him out for?
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: He told you ass couldn't come over there, He said,
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: don't come over here. This half for crazy. This her house,
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: she making all the rules. He doesn't understand how crazy
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: this is. I'm getting the vibe that he's a sorry
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: ass man, you think, because I'm gonna tell you what's
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: really going on, she say what's really going on? Please help?
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: All right? First of all, I'm gonna tell you what's
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: really going on. Number one, he ain't got no money
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: because any man that gets a divorce is not gonna
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: live in a subservient position like this with all these rules.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: He can't have a company, right, you can't date, and
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: you don't bought your ass over there to just see
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: what would happen, and you don't. You don't. Damn it,
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: got cussed out. So now let's go over what This
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: man has. One a tiny fridge, okay, access to a
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: bedroom which is not his. He just got access to it.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: He has a bath that's probably a half bath. They
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: have to share common areas. And if she and now
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: she could tell him it ain't common. Right now, your
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: ass back in your man cave, just your space is
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: the man cave. Next one, it's her house, it's in
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: her name. Here's the next one. She makes all the rules.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Here's the next one. She told you. If he don't
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: like it, he can move in with you. Listen to me,
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: A man cave can't mean that much when you ain't
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: king no more. And he didn't gave up all rights
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: as king. See what makes you have a man cave
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: is when you king of the castle and your wife
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: gives you a space that she don't allow the kids
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: come in. Nothing that's yours. You can do it like
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: you want to because you're the husband. That's your area. Baby,
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: do it like you want to. Y'all want to watch
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: the game video or whatever you wanta do, if that's
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: your rule. He don't have that nomber. You know why
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: because now he written that, so you see he has
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: nothing and he ain't got no money because why would
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: I rent this space that I can't even have company
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: in when I could take my money get me an apartment.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: But he can't go get the apartment with you because
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: he ain't got his money, right because he lost it
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: in the divorce. She ain't just take the house. She
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: got the savings because whatever he did to get put out,
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: he got to pay for. You get the feeling here, sorry,
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: ass man, She do too. That's why he got the
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: damn man came and he paid rent in it and
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: he got access to a commentary and he can't have
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: no company like he's sixteen, all right. Steve Poster comments

- 1:08:16Speaker 1: and experience and logan Paul, really don't be fighting nobody.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: I don't really see why he would think that this
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: would work. I don't even know. Well, you know, like
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: you know, like he fight people, they stage fights and
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: stuff like that. Floyd fights. Why would you go in
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: It's a difference between fighting and boxing. It's a big difference. Well,
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: how much is he gonna get? Oh, he getting a
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: couple of million, know, he's getting a few men. That
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: might be his reason. That would be that wouldn't that

- 1:14:47Speaker 1: trending stories on the Steve Harvey Morning Show. At twenty
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: minutes after right after this, you're listening to the Steve
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. All right, this story's interesting, guys. Fewer
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: BA babies, in case you didn't know, fewer babies are
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: named Karen these days, because you know, no one wants
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: to name their baby girls Karen anymore. And this is
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: according to the Social Security Administration. All Right, the name
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: Karen has plummeted in popularity. We all know that the
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: name Karen is linked to viral videos of white women
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: acting in sensitive, uh, you know, being racist, you know,
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: acting privileged, all of the above. So you know, no one,
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: no one wants to name their babies Karen anymore. A
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: lot of names fell off. We're damn showing a lot
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: of lucinders no more. Yeah, a lot of stiff fell
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: off after slavery. Ain't no freedoms, ain't no more freedoms.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: Very rarely here, I mean, baby gladis as it did,
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: lads Clovis. I only know one Harpore, Maurice. I like Maurice. Yeah. Hey,
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: you know, I've only I've only heard one person in
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: my life name Arsenio. I've never met another Arsenal. Very
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: unique name. Yeah, all right, we'll have more of the
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up at thirty three minutes
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: after right after this, you're listening to show, all right, So, Steven,
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: earlier this week you mentioned that you saw this video
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: the other day when Jay Z, you know, when he
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: was asked about DMX and he said that DMX inspired
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: him to step up his stage game. If you recall,
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: the two toured together back in nineteen ninety nine on
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: the Heart Life Tour and Jay said watching DMX made
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: him improve his performances. He disgusted on Lebron James to
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: show the shop take a listen. X is about to
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: go on, and I'm like, you know, I want to
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: see I got like this is going before and then
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: he goes and no arena ghost first bood deafening and
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, he has a thing like an Alixe
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: and Hennessey mix. It looks like blood, like he's drinking blood, right,
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: and he's running back and forth. Halfway through the show.
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: Then he takes his shirt off and the dog chain
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: and he's going nuts, right, And I'm like, first the
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: guys who are going crazy now and the girls are
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: going crazy. And then he gets to the end and
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: he starts a prayer and now they're crying. The whole
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: arena is crying, and I'm like, they're like, hey, maw,
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: you go. So then it begs the question, guys, who
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: inspired you to step your game up? Steve Well? Honestly speaking,
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: and I ain't saying it because he's on the show,
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: but jan Anthony Brown. Wow, Jonathony Brown was the first
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: major influence I had in comedy. Man. This dude he
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: was such an animal up there, man, And I didn't
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: know how to do it like he was doing it.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: He was in front of white people doing black jokes
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: just and just this it y'all, y'all, don't laugh, go somewhere.
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: But and it came from a came from a real
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: black perspective. And I was standing up. I was standing
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: in the back man with I don't going damn, dude,
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: he's saying what he want to say. He was just
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: doing jokes. And I mean, it was my first week
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: out on the road, and that ten days with him
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: was an eye open up for me, man, because that's
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: when I started saying, hold up, man, I got to
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: get to be and mold me because this dude was
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: just black and on stage and making money and headlining.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: So for me in the very beginning, I kid you not,
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: it was this dude right here, Jay Anthony Brown, and
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: it started a friendship that has been around for over
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: thirty some years. Man. And and and that's and that's
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: that's real talk. Man, that's honest, really cool. If everybody
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: tell my story, if they don't put Jay in a day,
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: Dane told my story because he was at the beginning.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: Coming up, it is our last break of the day.
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: It is the last break of the day, damn it.
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: Get rid of the filibuster. And forty nine minutes after,
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: of course, we'll have some closing remarks from the one
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: and only Steve Harvey are Fearless Leader coming up right
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: after this. You're listening, all right, guys, last break of
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: the day and of the week. It's been a good day,
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: a good Friday. Look again, Yeah you tired a week
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: of work? Wow, you must be exhausted. Oh sing, let
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: me tell you. Oh my god. You know earlier we
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: were talking about people have had a major influence on you. Yeah, yes, oh,
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: and I've talked about Jay in the beginning, um of
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: late what excuse me? Yeah, because I didn't think you
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: heard that. I heard it what sho I think it
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: shot the world, I tell myself, and you're never thrown off.
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: I think you know, I'm gonna tell you something real man,
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: A person that had and I don't think they know it,
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: and I never really I talked to him about it
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: every now and then about some of the moves he's made.
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: But a guy that has really mostly by example, but
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: I've talked to him often about so many different things.
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: It's sort of crazy. Man. I never said this out loud,
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: but Tyler perry Man has had a major influence on
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: me and decisions I've made over the last I would
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: say eight years, maybe the last eight years. That's probably
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: been the person that I've talked to the most who
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: has more than me, who you know, just talks about
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: insight and just you know, I'm kind of open with
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: him where he can, you know, you know, share things
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: with me that he can't share with anybody else because
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure they would be hating on him, you know.
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: But I've tried to be that type of person where
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: you can say, man, you do it? What tell me
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: that again? Okay, how'd you do that? You know? But
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: he's he's been a major influence in terms of me
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: starting to think in terms of ownership. And I've just
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: watched this guy man do some really really incredible things
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: and it's kind of inspired me to go in another direction,
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: in different directions outside of entertainment. That has really really
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: helped me too. So I think that's been for me him.
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: Who has it been for you, Tommy over the years
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: in the beginning, well, in the beginning, of course, it's
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: my father that that's what I'm saying, I think, but
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: you've been a very inspirational person. Your hustle is what
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: I mind. I'll be honest with you. It comes my
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: eyes talking because your your hustle is just incredible. So
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: that's I try to pattent off of that and just
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: keep grinding and keep grinding, and I don't want to
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: even look up. I just keep grinding hopefully and when
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: I look up about being a different place. So just
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: keep moving forward. So it's a I admire the hustle,
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: and it's it's it's non stop twenty four seven. It
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: don't quit. I don't know when you sleep, I don't
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: know how you sleep, but all I know as I
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: see you getting up getting it and getting it, So
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: I just say, hey, I'm gonna get up and get it.
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: If I keep getting up and getting it, maybe I'm
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: gonna get some lawyer turned around, gave me a TV show.
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: I just keep up getting up and getting I'm trying
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: to get another one. And you do it it too,
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: because I watch you do that game show. I watch
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: you steal tour, then you got this other TV show.
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: You know, it's the way it's done. I don't really, Um,
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: I don't know another way to tell it to a person.
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: And everybody that I've talked to that's successful, it's the
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: same way. You know, if that was another way I
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: would tell it to you. Man, if I say, look, man,
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: you can you can cut some corners by doing this,
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: or you can shave it off by doing you knock
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: some years off, but doing this not. Look, I could
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: tell you some things you bet not to do that
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: that can show enough stunt your growth, because I've done
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: them too. But I'm just telling you how not to
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: just add years to it. But I can't tell you
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: how to shade now at all. I cannot tell you that.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: You know, Steve, so many people though have been inspired
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: by you seriously, because you know, going from you know
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: multiple jobs. First of all, a lot of people weren't
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: doing that before you. And then when you got into radio,
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: you were a comedian, you got into radio. Look how
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: many comedians followed you into radio you started that, you know,
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: So you've been very influential. I mean from comedy people,
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: all kinds of people now are doing game shows. I
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: think because of you, you've influenced so many many people.
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: I mean seriously, And he shares the information people. Surely.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: I wanted to add that he's a blessing too, right,
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: that I got mine, get yours, how to go get it?
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: But yeah, he's been a shining example. As a shining example,
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: even though when you look at the mouth, you'll be
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: trying to figure out that's how you got that, that's
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: the that's the role. You get tired of looking at that.
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: You look at the mouth, and that's what yeh do it?
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: That's right. Yeah, That's why so many people call you
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: Uncle Steve or og or whatever pet name they have
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: for you, because they look up to you. They look
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: at your career and they look up to you. If
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: he can do it, yeah, yeah, you know. I've two
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: things about faith. I've always asked God in my life,
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: not for fame and riches. But what I really have
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: been focused on asking God for is to make me relevant.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: I want to be relevant, man. I want when my
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: life is over man to have placed in some people
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: some things that helped him along the way. Like I said,
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: I read something somebody. I want somebody man to look
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: at me and go because of you. I didn't quit
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: because of you. I never gave up because of you.
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: I jumped because of you. Man, I tried harder. And
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: that's a big thing that I ask God for. And
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: then secondly, my life has been feeled with God's unmerited
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: faithful I have to say that about it, man, that God,
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: Almighty of mind boy, has given me so much grace
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: and mercy. And that's been the biggest part of it
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: at all, because a lot of it I can't even
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: explain because it ain't me. Thank you Jesus, it works
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: to me. For all Steve Ivery contests, no purchase necessary
