- 0:57Speaker 1: uplifting and motivational guests. Every week. We're encouraging people to
- 1:02Speaker 1: exceed the expectations by believing in themselves. That's right. Five
- 1:06Speaker 1: years today I've been I sat behind this mica with
- 1:09Speaker 1: an idea. I just wrapped up manager Steve Harvey, and
- 1:12Speaker 1: I didn't have a voice. I didn't know what I
- 1:14Speaker 1: wanted to do with my brand and don't know what
- 1:16Speaker 1: I wanted to do with my career. But I knew
- 1:17Speaker 1: one thing that I always did since I was eighteen
- 1:19Speaker 1: years old was inspiring people to look beyond myself personally
- 1:24Speaker 1: and encourage people to understand that your dream is as
- 1:27Speaker 1: hard as you want to work for it. So people
- 1:30Speaker 1: always talk about their purpose and gifts. If you have
- 1:33Speaker 1: a gift, leave with your gifts and don't let your friends, family,
- 1:37Speaker 1: or co workers stop you from planning or living your dreams. Now,
- 1:41Speaker 1: after all that, I got two guests on the phone
- 1:44Speaker 1: that I want to bring up. Now, let's get this
- 1:46Speaker 1: celebration started. My first guest. It's gonna be a long
- 1:49Speaker 1: speech now because they got a lot of things happening
- 1:52Speaker 1: on money making conversations. Masterclass or Grammy nominated Jazz Duel

- 2:09Speaker 1: and it's fourth Grammar nomination for Best Jazz Vocal Album.
- 2:13Speaker 1: That's Generation and Generation. If you hadn't heard, there's a
- 2:16Speaker 1: cultural anthology routing in everyday life. I listened to it
- 2:19Speaker 1: all the time because I have like a forty five
- 2:21Speaker 1: minute ride a lot of times a coming to the station.
- 2:24Speaker 1: That traffic Atlanta just be building up, and so I
- 2:27Speaker 1: just dropped in Generations And guess what, I don't worry
- 2:29Speaker 1: about traffic or nothing. I enjoyed my ride. Generations when
- 2:33Speaker 1: they've dropped became the number one Jazz vocal album on
- 2:37Speaker 1: Jazz week Radio Charts and the Standards. Song We Swing
- 2:41Speaker 1: the Cipher was named among MPRS Music one hundred Best
- 2:46Speaker 1: Songs of one. It gets even better now because they're
- 2:50Speaker 1: on the call. They're waiting for me. We have this
- 2:52Speaker 1: upcoming big event. Maybe you've heard about it on w
- 2:56Speaker 1: c OK. The Jazz Music Award, Marcus and Gene of
- 2:59Speaker 1: the Baylor Project have three nominations, Best Mainstream Album, Best
- 3:06Speaker 1: Vocal Performance, and Best Dual Group. A Big Band. Please
- 3:11Speaker 1: welcome to my five year anniversary money Making conversation, master class, celebration,
- 3:16Speaker 1: Marcus and Jane Baylor. Come on now, come on now.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Oh I love it, man, I'm so happy. We we
- 3:34Speaker 1: talked about this because we're don't drop another damn on there.
- 3:36Speaker 1: They don't know why we're happy over everything. But first
- 3:39Speaker 1: of all, you know, it's the first time we were
- 3:42Speaker 1: doing the Jazz Music Award w C okay doing it
- 3:45Speaker 1: over a carb Energy Center October twenty to get three
- 3:50Speaker 1: Best Mainstream Album, Best Vocal Performance. And this is fans
- 3:55Speaker 1: reaching out and industry leaders reaching our best dual group
- 3:58Speaker 1: of big band Okay, my stok too, I got Marcus
- 4:01Speaker 1: and Jeane. So ladies, first, Gene, tell me about how
- 4:05Speaker 1: you feel about this. We feel amazing. We're excited, we're honored,
- 4:11Speaker 1: we're blessed to be a part of the first Average
- 4:16Speaker 1: Jazz Music Awards that's highlighting jazz um and we're just
- 4:21Speaker 1: like thrilled to not only have been considered for three
- 4:25Speaker 1: nominations but also the part of the live performance. Uh,
- 4:31Speaker 1: that's gonna happen. Oh, she's just gonna she's gonna drop
- 4:34Speaker 1: it before you even talk, Marcus. That's how she do,
- 4:36Speaker 1: That's how you do. It's a celebration, we were not
- 4:40Speaker 1: gonna make it do the Hey Marcus, you know when
- 4:43Speaker 1: you when you when you when we talked, you know,
- 4:46Speaker 1: one of the beauty of your you were so inspiring
- 4:49Speaker 1: because you understood and nut saying Jeane didn't. But you
- 4:53Speaker 1: know a lot of people don't get the fact about
- 4:55Speaker 1: the amount of hard work that you have to engage
- 4:57Speaker 1: yourself in to pursue your dream and also, uh, sometimes
- 5:00Speaker 1: your dream changes and a lot of people to understand
- 5:03Speaker 1: do you have to sometimes be fluid and go off
- 5:06Speaker 1: track to get back on your dreams because you didn't
- 5:09Speaker 1: start with the Beata project. You know you St. Louis
- 5:12Speaker 1: doing your own things. So can you tell us the
- 5:15Speaker 1: significance of a show like the Jazz Music Awards being
- 5:19Speaker 1: a national platform being hopefully one day our vision at
- 5:24Speaker 1: w CLK has to become our version of the Grammys,
- 5:27Speaker 1: our version of the Billboard Awards, our version of all
- 5:29Speaker 1: these great award shows out there, and it's based in Atlanta.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Tell us about their emotional take on the Jazz Music Awards, Well,
- 5:37Speaker 1: what's amazing about it is, First of all, I'm gonna
- 5:39Speaker 1: speak y'all are the first in terms of that I've
- 5:44Speaker 1: seen in my time of doing this on the level,
- 5:47Speaker 1: and you all our leaders in this and so it's
- 5:50Speaker 1: such an honor to be a part of this, whether
- 5:53Speaker 1: it was the first year, the second, third, or fourth
- 5:55Speaker 1: or fifth year, it's celebrating music that's born in our
- 6:00Speaker 1: that's rooted in our culture and in our history as
- 6:03Speaker 1: a people, as Black people in this country. But of course,
- 6:06Speaker 1: you know, the music stretches abroad and stretches through throughout
- 6:10Speaker 1: the whole entire world, but it was birth in the
- 6:13Speaker 1: black community. And so I'm just excited about that. And
- 6:16Speaker 1: it's given love to all the different sizes of jazz music,
- 6:22Speaker 1: straight ahead, smooth jazz, and I'm sure over the years
- 6:26Speaker 1: it's going to continue to keep expanding and just embracing
- 6:30Speaker 1: as like you all are doing, and just embracing the
- 6:32Speaker 1: music as a whole. And I and we just love
- 6:35Speaker 1: this because it's on the level and it's bringing in
- 6:37Speaker 1: some of the greatest artists in the world. So I'm
- 6:41Speaker 1: we're honored. Well, you know, the honor is mine because
- 6:44Speaker 1: of the fact that you know, on this anniversary, I
- 6:47Speaker 1: wanted to bring in people who hit home for me
- 6:50Speaker 1: and and and you too when you came on my
- 6:52Speaker 1: show it was kind of like family. And I'm I'm
- 6:55Speaker 1: one of those guys who know I'm a jazz I
- 6:58Speaker 1: find jazz, you know. And then because Jason doesn't always
- 7:02Speaker 1: find me because I don't know where to go, you know,
- 7:04Speaker 1: I'll be listening to great music and go, wow, what
- 7:06Speaker 1: is that? And that's why I found your music. Like
- 7:09Speaker 1: black Board, that's my song, you know, black Boards my song?
- 7:12Speaker 1: You know that that that's my song, Jeneen, that's my
- 7:16Speaker 1: song black Board that's on that's on that generation's album.
- 7:19Speaker 1: If y'all don't know, like I told y'all, when I'm
- 7:22Speaker 1: driving to w C Okay every Tuesday, I put on
- 7:26Speaker 1: my song my my Drop, my Pandora Generations, and I'm good.
- 7:31Speaker 1: I'm good all the way in. And so when I
- 7:33Speaker 1: when I look at that, and then we go over
- 7:35Speaker 1: to gene because you dropped it. Anyway, we might will
- 7:37Speaker 1: to tell the world that opening opening the Jazz Music
- 7:41Speaker 1: Awards will not only be the Bailor Project Starry Marcus
- 7:45Speaker 1: and Jeane is gonna also be just me a horn
- 7:49Speaker 1: and Diana reads talk to me, jene first, come on,
- 7:56Speaker 1: come on, come on gee, talk to me. Said you
- 7:58Speaker 1: said you just gonna get out there and throw out
- 8:00Speaker 1: a little nugget before I even talk to Marcus, tell
- 8:03Speaker 1: us about jumping on that stage because because you know something, Marcus,
- 8:07Speaker 1: I love her, but you know she'll tried to jump
- 8:09Speaker 1: in front of you and get the last wing on
- 8:11Speaker 1: on fried chicken. What I'm saying, that's her? No, I'm
- 8:17Speaker 1: looking at that. No, I'm looking at that fried chicken wings.
- 8:19Speaker 1: She'd go over there. How you doing every show? And
- 8:21Speaker 1: then reached forward and Jesus tell us about that performance
- 8:28Speaker 1: being the opening act for the Jazz Music Awards, which
- 8:31Speaker 1: take place at the carb Energy Center October twenty second. Uh,
- 8:35Speaker 1: you know the beauty of being because y'all gonna be
- 8:38Speaker 1: busy nominations. I'm I don't know the score, but I
- 8:43Speaker 1: like to believe, you know, so love gonna be shown
- 8:45Speaker 1: in the nominations too. But y'all, y'all. Stepping on that
- 8:48Speaker 1: stage is hosted by a girl, d Deep Bridgewater. She's
- 8:51Speaker 1: one of the hosts. It's been announced for the Jazz
- 8:54Speaker 1: Music Awards. So, but it's all about introducing that first act.
- 8:59Speaker 1: We swing give us a little people who don't know
- 9:01Speaker 1: about what we saying. Why is that is that beat?
- 9:04Speaker 1: You know that Cotton Club to come into hall and
- 9:07Speaker 1: beat that beat then make you just rock side aside
- 9:09Speaker 1: and snap your fingers, snap your fingers, snap your fingers. Hey,
- 9:13Speaker 1: I'm telling you come with Jane floor is yours. We Swing.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I think you dropped the Obama because I didn't know
- 9:21Speaker 1: we were opening. So that's so dope, and I think
- 9:24Speaker 1: it's a great way to the perfect way to open. Like, hey,
- 9:27Speaker 1: this is the Jazz Awards and we swing. Swing is
- 9:30Speaker 1: you know, the essence of jazz music's foundational. It's UM
- 9:35Speaker 1: one of them things where you know, sometimes sometimes we
- 9:39Speaker 1: move in and out of it and away from it,
- 9:41Speaker 1: but we always come back to it. So I'm honored
- 9:44Speaker 1: to have UM a legacy artist, UM like Diane Reeves
- 9:49Speaker 1: join us and jazz Mia, who is like our baby sister,
- 9:53Speaker 1: you know what I mean, and killing the game UM
- 9:56Speaker 1: three different generations, which really represents the album that it
- 9:59Speaker 1: was each it on generation. So UM, you know, we're
- 10:02Speaker 1: just looking forward to we We and UM. I believe
- 10:05Speaker 1: or and Evans is gonna be there. I believe he
- 10:09Speaker 1: gonna he's gonna help us swinging about it there. We
- 10:12Speaker 1: had to throw his name in there because Evans is
- 10:15Speaker 1: the person he's one of the nominees. But he introduced
- 10:18Speaker 1: me to Jane. That's how I met Jane. Okay, okay,
- 10:21Speaker 1: all right now, and I used to get taken this
- 10:23Speaker 1: whole personal. Now I gotta slide up to the mic now,
- 10:25Speaker 1: you know, you know St. Louis meet New Jersey. You
- 10:28Speaker 1: know St. Louis, Missouri meet New Jersey. Okay, Mitt west
- 10:33Speaker 1: mes East Coast. Yes, so we're gonna be so on
- 10:38Speaker 1: that stage. You know the interesting thing about it when
- 10:41Speaker 1: when we we we spoke, and I'm gonna tell you
- 10:44Speaker 1: all something, it was it was it was because you
- 10:46Speaker 1: never and I gotta I'm blessed to have a podcast
- 10:49Speaker 1: and as uh and um, we're popular. And when your interview,
- 10:54Speaker 1: I'm gonna just be honest with you. When your interview
- 10:56Speaker 1: aired on my podcast, it was in the first quarter,
- 11:00Speaker 1: it was the top downloaded interview on my podcast. Your kid,
- 11:07Speaker 1: I kid you not kid you not so. And so
- 11:11Speaker 1: that let me know that a lot of my fan
- 11:13Speaker 1: base or into jazz and so because you know, you know,
- 11:19Speaker 1: jazz is such a relaxing sound. And so I told
- 11:27Speaker 1: my staff and they said, Richard, and I said, uh,
- 11:30Speaker 1: they said, the Baila Project interviews your top download for
- 11:33Speaker 1: the quarter. I knew it. I knew it jumped up
- 11:35Speaker 1: when the interview when it dropped, because what I do
- 11:38Speaker 1: is when it airs on w C. Okay, the following week,
- 11:42Speaker 1: I aired on my national podcast and Chid Yeah, I
- 11:45Speaker 1: went crazy. Everybody loved baby prodject That is crazy. Yeah,
- 11:53Speaker 1: that's good, That's that's awesome. Thank you so much. Well,
- 11:56Speaker 1: I I gotta speak the truth because of the fact
- 11:58Speaker 1: that when you when you look at the you know,
- 12:01Speaker 1: because then that the interview, Marcus, you dropped so many
- 12:05Speaker 1: nuggets in the second half of that interview, by life,
- 12:08Speaker 1: by not giving up, by motivation and h and also
- 12:12Speaker 1: realizing that, like I said earlier, just because you have
- 12:16Speaker 1: a dream doesn't mean that you when when you hit
- 12:19Speaker 1: a detour, that you give up on it. And if
- 12:21Speaker 1: you give up on it, you know, makes you understand
- 12:24Speaker 1: you have people around you that can pull you back
- 12:26Speaker 1: to your dream. And you you spoke like that, and
- 12:30Speaker 1: I've never heard that. And I think a lot of
- 12:31Speaker 1: our listeners not only were World World fans of the
- 12:35Speaker 1: music and became fans of the Bailor Project, which stars
- 12:38Speaker 1: Marcus and Gene. Of course, you know what is that
- 12:40Speaker 1: driving force that keeps you focused and and also drop
- 12:44Speaker 1: some nuggets on uh what what not only who you
- 12:47Speaker 1: are and but also what you guys represent as a couple. Wow. Well,
- 12:52Speaker 1: I'll start off by saying, as far as I mean,
- 12:57Speaker 1: first of all, just being you know, really big and
- 13:00Speaker 1: able to just really keep your focus and like I'll
- 13:02Speaker 1: be honest with you, like even right now, as as
- 13:06Speaker 1: we've been blessed to be successful in different areas, something
- 13:10Speaker 1: is constantly reminded me, even just living everyday life on
- 13:13Speaker 1: social media because you can see so many people doing
- 13:15Speaker 1: great things. But I even started a mantra that I
- 13:19Speaker 1: would say to myself focus the bell of project focus,
- 13:22Speaker 1: the bell of project focus, the bell of project because
- 13:25Speaker 1: I'll see so many outside things and you start looking
- 13:28Speaker 1: at oh man, I want to do that. Oh man,
- 13:30Speaker 1: I think we should do that. No, stay on your
- 13:33Speaker 1: path and on your journey, because I'm realizing that all
- 13:36Speaker 1: these things will come in due time. And just like
- 13:40Speaker 1: even just to throw just even a crazy plug like
- 13:44Speaker 1: while we're on our I think we we we spoke
- 13:46Speaker 1: to you first quarter and right after that was the Grammys.
- 13:50Speaker 1: We were completely drained. And that's what you call staying
- 13:53Speaker 1: on your path. And on your journey, we get called
- 13:55Speaker 1: for this. We gotta called for this gig to uh
- 14:00Speaker 1: A private gig which is was for three nights, um
- 14:03Speaker 1: three nights. They literally built a jazz club just for
- 14:06Speaker 1: us to play. And and I'm thinking to myself, bad,
- 14:10Speaker 1: I'm so tired, and they said, no, we want to
- 14:12Speaker 1: style you guys. We want to do this and do that.
- 14:14Speaker 1: It's a whole other world that we never was exposed to.
- 14:18Speaker 1: We show up to this place and it's the most
- 14:21Speaker 1: amazing jazz club built just for us to play, only
- 14:24Speaker 1: for them to tear it down when we finish. That
- 14:26Speaker 1: we ever seen something said you know, you guys need
- 14:30Speaker 1: to record this because you never know. All I have
- 14:32Speaker 1: to tell you is that we recorded this UH particular
- 14:36Speaker 1: particular three nights and within two or three months flipped
- 14:41Speaker 1: a live album end up coming out which is just
- 14:44Speaker 1: dropped three weeks ago called Live at Apparatus. And of
- 14:48Speaker 1: course I'm giving the plug, but I'm just saying all
- 14:50Speaker 1: that to say, when you stay on your path and
- 14:53Speaker 1: on your journey, certain things just come your way that
- 14:56Speaker 1: you just would never think. And there's something else I mean,
- 14:59Speaker 1: we have to talk to you make next year again
- 15:01Speaker 1: because that's something else that we just did last week
- 15:04Speaker 1: that I can't believe what just happened, But we can't
- 15:06Speaker 1: shure that now. So I'm just saying it's important to
- 15:09Speaker 1: stay focused on your path and on your journey. That
- 15:13Speaker 1: is extremely, extremely important because it keeps you to half
- 15:18Speaker 1: You almost got a half tunnel vision, especially with so
- 15:20Speaker 1: much happening right now in the world social media and
- 15:24Speaker 1: you know, and all these things. And then last thing,
- 15:26Speaker 1: I'll say, get around people. Get around people that are
- 15:32Speaker 1: that that that that that that pushes you. Like for instance,
- 15:35Speaker 1: one last thing out of all this. I don't know
- 15:37Speaker 1: if you've heard of the Emmy Award winning Adam Blackstone
- 15:41Speaker 1: just dropped the brand new album called Legacy. Do you
- 15:44Speaker 1: know we literally just recorded that session about three weeks ago.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I don't know how we made it happen. The album
- 15:51Speaker 1: just dropped. A set niece was last night and this
- 15:55Speaker 1: album is like, it is amazing. It's Who's Who on
- 15:58Speaker 1: there all the way from Kirk Anything to Marry Mary
- 16:01Speaker 1: to Jasmine Sullivan too. I mean, you name it, Who's Who,
- 16:05Speaker 1: Queen Latifa and we're featured on the track on this album.
- 16:08Speaker 1: The Billy Project uh Old Leslie. Yes, so yes, So
- 16:16Speaker 1: I'll just say that to say and I'm gonna transition
- 16:18Speaker 1: is over to the wife because I can go all
- 16:20Speaker 1: day on this on the married couple's baby. What do
- 16:23Speaker 1: you have to say? He did, he did ask us
- 16:26Speaker 1: a question. He teach your question against us. Again, I'm changing,
- 16:30Speaker 1: I'm changing market. I gotta go, man, you know, I
- 16:32Speaker 1: got I got, I gotta locked this down. Man. Again,
- 16:36Speaker 1: I want to bring y'all back so Jeane can talk.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Because Jeane, I'll talk to you last us. I realized
- 16:40Speaker 1: you probably it was prepared to I'll talk her this time.
- 16:43Speaker 1: But again, but again I'm telling the truth. You just dropped.
- 16:49Speaker 1: The Evening Live apparatus is out now. You gotta check
- 16:52Speaker 1: it out. But what I want to do is, you know,
- 16:53Speaker 1: I'm just shouting out my celebration. I want to come
- 16:56Speaker 1: back to another forty five minute interview with you guys
- 16:58Speaker 1: next month. So we said out and talk before the
- 17:02Speaker 1: the the Jazz Music Awards. We just October twenty second.
- 17:06Speaker 1: I do want to congratulate you on the three nominations.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I want to congratulate you and taking the time to
- 17:10Speaker 1: be the opening act for the Jazz Music Awards again.
- 17:13Speaker 1: October twenty second, Stay blessed and we're gonna talk soon.
- 17:16Speaker 1: But remember, I want you all to come back on
- 17:19Speaker 1: the air with me. We're gonna do video, and we're
- 17:22Speaker 1: gonna do a video, gonna drop everything October next month
- 17:26Speaker 1: for forty five minutes. Is that a deal? Yeah, And
- 17:29Speaker 1: we're coming down there to the Atlanta to eat some
- 17:32Speaker 1: chicken with you. So I'm I'm gonna work out so
- 17:34Speaker 1: we can do that absolutely and I can still look
- 17:36Speaker 1: good at the outfit with the world the chicken. I'm
- 17:38Speaker 1: gonna go to Slutty Vegan. I love you. Thank you
- 17:42Speaker 1: all for coming on the show. The Baylor Project opening

- 18:21Speaker 1: He's warned that two years in a row. Ambassador for
- 18:24Speaker 1: the two World Games that was recently this summer in Birmingham, Alabama,
- 18:29Speaker 1: performed at the Super Bowl Gospel when my boy Cee
- 18:32Speaker 1: Lo Green dropped. This week, this week we're talking about
- 18:37Speaker 1: September thirty. This week he'll be featured in Cure sheer
- 18:40Speaker 1: It's new single Miracles. He's also a senior pastor and
- 18:43Speaker 1: found a Rock City church and Birmingham, Alabama. They call
- 18:47Speaker 1: it to Ham. Please welcome to my five year anniversary
- 18:49Speaker 1: Money Making Conversation, a masterclass Celebrations show Pastor Mike Jr. Hey,
- 18:57Speaker 1: big bro, you had me like, man, who is this? Come? No? No, no, no,
- 19:01Speaker 1: don't don't you go there? You look at it. I'll
- 19:03Speaker 1: tell you something like brother. You know the reason I
- 19:06Speaker 1: love I had to bring you back on the show
- 19:09Speaker 1: for my five year because so many, so many people
- 19:13Speaker 1: feel they have to leave to for their dreams to
- 19:17Speaker 1: be accomplished. And you you, you stayed in Birmingham and
- 19:21Speaker 1: have become one of the most dynamic talents in this
- 19:24Speaker 1: country in Little o Ham. Can you talk about people
- 19:29Speaker 1: I'm sure people tell you today you should move, but
- 19:32Speaker 1: but what what what what it compels you to say?
- 19:34Speaker 1: This is where I should be, This what God told
- 19:37Speaker 1: me my journey should end, should begin and in here
- 19:41Speaker 1: and I can be as big as I want to be.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Talk about that first off, man, I just want to
- 19:46Speaker 1: tell you thank you again for giving me such an
- 19:48Speaker 1: awesome opportunity to be on your podcast, to be on
- 19:51Speaker 1: your show. Um, it's it's just humbling, man. The relationships
- 19:55Speaker 1: God that's giving me celebrating five spiritually five in a
- 19:58Speaker 1: number of grace and favor and your life and your
- 20:01Speaker 1: influence is the uh, the model that God is still
- 20:03Speaker 1: favoring people. Of course, Man, from the moment I remember
- 20:07Speaker 1: walking in my city. Uh, we're told if you want
- 20:10Speaker 1: to be successful, you got to go to Atlanta or Nashville.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Birmingham is in the middle, directly in the middle of
- 20:17Speaker 1: Nashville and Atlanta. Historically, everything that was taken to Atlanta
- 20:21Speaker 1: was brought to Birmingham. But because of racism and division,
- 20:24Speaker 1: they didn't want the city of Birmingham to be progressive
- 20:27Speaker 1: for African Americans. So there's sort of this death and
- 20:31Speaker 1: this craft mentality just hovering over our city, and people
- 20:34Speaker 1: often have to say if you want to make it,
- 20:36Speaker 1: you have to leave. But I'm just proof that you
- 20:38Speaker 1: can bloom where your planet. Man, and somebody listening right now,
- 20:41Speaker 1: you're pregnant with vision, but oftentimes it's aborted by lack
- 20:45Speaker 1: million dollar dream on a hundred dollar budget. And what
- 20:47Speaker 1: I've discovered man, that uh, what you have to do
- 20:51Speaker 1: is to maximize every opportunity where you are. Here's the
- 20:53Speaker 1: beautiful thing. If I was in Atlanta, I would just
- 20:57Speaker 1: be an ordinary guy. But because God's blessing me from Birmingham,
- 21:01Speaker 1: sometimes where you are to your advantage, you know. So
- 21:04Speaker 1: for me, Man, if you're listening right now, make sure
- 21:06Speaker 1: number one, before you relocate your life, you pray and
- 21:09Speaker 1: ask God this is where you want me to be.
- 21:11Speaker 1: The number two. I'm just a firm believer that what
- 21:13Speaker 1: God has for you to being from Birmingham, New York,
- 21:16Speaker 1: Dallas and l A, it's gonna find you. Okay. First
- 21:19Speaker 1: of all, I just got correct him because you're a Lollo.
- 21:22Speaker 1: That's why I like Pastor Mike Julr. You know, if
- 21:24Speaker 1: you're humble, he gonna go. If I was in Atlanta,
- 21:27Speaker 1: I'd just be a regular guy, would nobody know me?
- 21:30Speaker 1: Did you hear he's saying that? Read back to credits here,
- 21:34Speaker 1: let me read back to credits. Eleven times Stella Award winner,
- 21:39Speaker 1: six of them this year, two years in a row,
- 21:43Speaker 1: Orders of the Year, Ambassador for two World Game, Super Bowl,
- 21:49Speaker 1: gospel performer got a single coming out with Kresher, who
- 21:54Speaker 1: is one of my favorite people by the way. Yeah,
- 21:56Speaker 1: and then he goes, should them and tell us on
- 21:58Speaker 1: my show if I was in Atlanta, nobody would know whoever?
- 22:02Speaker 1: He well, why do you change your voice? Why do
- 22:05Speaker 1: you change you? No? You get I'm just hon it, man.
- 22:10Speaker 1: I mean it's an from the bottom of my heart. Man.
- 22:13Speaker 1: I I just firmly believe that the opportunities of the
- 22:16Speaker 1: lifetime must be seened within the lifetime of the opportunity.
- 22:19Speaker 1: And so many people are gonna miss their moment waiting
- 22:22Speaker 1: to move when maybe you just need to bust a move,
- 22:25Speaker 1: not maybe physically, but mentally strategically. Man. So for me,
- 22:30Speaker 1: that's what I'm all about and what I've discovered to
- 22:32Speaker 1: And I heard Steve Harvey say this and then bless
- 22:34Speaker 1: my life. He said, God has a way of pushing
- 22:38Speaker 1: you when you won't jump and I for me, Man,
- 22:42Speaker 1: I just made a decision to jump right here from Birmingham, Alabama.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Big went number one, I got it went number one.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Both of those songs were produced by people right here
- 22:50Speaker 1: in my city, people who said, ever give a chance
- 22:53Speaker 1: to if? I said, Hey, what if we come together
- 22:55Speaker 1: and do this? So I'm excited, man, I can't wait
- 22:57Speaker 1: to see what God does next. I know that you know,
- 23:01Speaker 1: you're calling in and showing me some love. And it's
- 23:04Speaker 1: not the typical loan interviews that we do. But I
- 23:06Speaker 1: gotta I gotta talk about this the single ministry because
- 23:10Speaker 1: of the fact that I got it. You know that
- 23:13Speaker 1: crossed over the RB charge peaked and I seventeen one.
- 23:17Speaker 1: But you know, every we always here by family, love
- 23:19Speaker 1: and couple and everything. Then but you stepped away, you know,
- 23:22Speaker 1: you said, what about the single people? Which w seems
- 23:25Speaker 1: to feel like if you're not mad, there's something wrong
- 23:28Speaker 1: with you being single? What was the vision behind that,
- 23:31Speaker 1: Pastor Mike Jr. That right there, man, like, and here's
- 23:35Speaker 1: the blessing. Man, I had the preface. I had the
- 23:38Speaker 1: privilege of being a pastor's kid, so I would sit
- 23:41Speaker 1: in church Sometimes I ask myself, why then I would
- 23:44Speaker 1: go home and see my dad's reasoning. And so one
- 23:46Speaker 1: of the things that did was it counted, for lack
- 23:48Speaker 1: of a better terms, it allowed me to become a
- 23:52Speaker 1: leader who still had a Pew mentality in a sense
- 23:55Speaker 1: of what's good for the people. And I never forget
- 23:57Speaker 1: I'm sitting at home in quarantine, and all I could
- 24:00Speaker 1: think about was everybody who was quarantined and alone. And
- 24:04Speaker 1: I started hitting up some of the singles at my church,
- 24:06Speaker 1: literally just going down the road, and one by one
- 24:09Speaker 1: I was hearing them say, past time you at home.
- 24:11Speaker 1: At least you're at home with your kids, at lash,
- 24:13Speaker 1: you're at home with your wife. I'm over here, locked
- 24:15Speaker 1: up by myself, and sometimes the worst person to be
- 24:18Speaker 1: with is yourself. So to find a way to normaltcause
- 24:22Speaker 1: the truth of the matter is, it's certain things we
- 24:25Speaker 1: have to stop doing in the culture. We always said,
- 24:27Speaker 1: we know. Grandmama was married fifty years, she was miserable
- 24:30Speaker 1: forty five of them. She said, feel like you had
- 24:33Speaker 1: a way out. So just because you have somebody doesn't
- 24:36Speaker 1: mean you have somebody. So what I'm trying at singles
- 24:39Speaker 1: to realize all over the world is you're not looking
- 24:42Speaker 1: for somebody to complete. You be complete before they come.
- 24:46Speaker 1: And I believe if we can change that narrative, because
- 24:49Speaker 1: so many women are waiting on a night and shot
- 24:51Speaker 1: at armor and keep going home with foods wrapped in timfoil.
- 24:54Speaker 1: If we ain't careful, we're gonna be pressuring our young
- 24:58Speaker 1: generation that if Mary is not the answer, they will
- 25:01Speaker 1: never be fulfilled when their life. Life just doesn't work
- 25:04Speaker 1: that way. Jesus Paul. They both accomplished so much and
- 25:08Speaker 1: neither one of them were married because they're assignment dictated
- 25:11Speaker 1: that they need to be flexible, sometimes being a relationship
- 25:14Speaker 1: as a burning So I wanted to do a product
- 25:16Speaker 1: that gear towards singles to let them know, hey, I'm
- 25:18Speaker 1: not here with you. That album went on to win
- 25:20Speaker 1: an Album of the Year. Um, so I'm excited. I'm excited, man,
- 25:25Speaker 1: it was a great album. Well, you know, I'm excited
- 25:26Speaker 1: that you took the time to call my show and
- 25:29Speaker 1: be a part of my celebration and more important than
- 25:31Speaker 1: the humbleness. And you know we were in Itto the
- 25:33Speaker 1: Music Show and you when you turn to your boys,
- 25:35Speaker 1: said that boy right there, Rashard McDonald, here the truth.
- 25:39Speaker 1: You know, when you said that man, I just laughed
- 25:41Speaker 1: at myself. I said, wow, because I'm just I'm just
- 25:44Speaker 1: being rash. I'm just being Rashaan McDonald. And when I
- 25:47Speaker 1: see greatness, I'm acknowledge it. I'm gonna be humbled and
- 25:50Speaker 1: never remind them, because sometimes people like you pastor Mike,
- 25:53Speaker 1: got to be told and reminded because you're so in
- 25:56Speaker 1: the grind what you're doing and how you impact and people,
- 26:00Speaker 1: and sometimes that the war can be hidden because you
- 26:02Speaker 1: just put a little chief and going to the next
- 26:04Speaker 1: you You your mind is next year, what were you
- 26:07Speaker 1: gonna do next year? You're not sitting around, you know,
- 26:09Speaker 1: in your bedroom or your living room with all your
- 26:12Speaker 1: your wards around you. You respect the fact that God
- 26:15Speaker 1: gave you that journey, but he got plenty more for you.
- 26:19Speaker 1: That's the blessing of this relationship that I had with you,
- 26:21Speaker 1: my young friend. Yes, sir, Yes, sir, I appreciate it.
- 26:24Speaker 1: It means the world to me. And I just want
- 26:26Speaker 1: to speak blessings and life and more resources influenced favor
- 26:30Speaker 1: and connections that the next five years to be better
- 26:32Speaker 1: than the last five years. So I'm excited. Well, you know,
- 26:35Speaker 1: my boy Rickey Smiley, he dined in Birmingham. So I
- 26:38Speaker 1: came down that a couple of couple of times. Now
- 26:41Speaker 1: next time I come down there, I gotta make sure
- 26:43Speaker 1: you and I are connecting all three of us. Go
- 26:46Speaker 1: get some bothered. That would be good. Let me know,
- 26:48Speaker 1: b bro. Okay, thank you for calling on my show.
- 26:51Speaker 1: That was Pastor Mike Jr. A blessing and uh and
- 26:54Speaker 1: the start is on right living right down the street
- 26:57Speaker 1: twenty west. We'll be right back with more Money Making
- 27:00Speaker 1: Conversations Masterclass with Rushan McDonald. You are now tuned into
- 27:05Speaker 1: the Money Making Conversations Minute of Inspiration with Rashan McDonald. Hi,
- 27:10Speaker 1: ra Sean McDonald for Money Making Conversation Masterclass with your
- 27:13Speaker 1: daily mending of Inspiration. Reachail I spoke with Southern Black
- 27:16Speaker 1: Girls Woman Consortium visionary founder and co founder Black Voters Matter,
- 27:21Speaker 1: Latasha Brown. She explains how being active in the community
- 27:24Speaker 1: provides pushback and reduces harm within the community. We say
- 27:28Speaker 1: when when when When we're telling them about why they're voting,
- 27:31Speaker 1: we'll saying you're not You're not voting because you want
- 27:34Speaker 1: to get some political party in our office. What you're
- 27:36Speaker 1: voting for is you're voting for yourself. That you have
- 27:39Speaker 1: to use every until your community has everything that it needs.
- 27:42Speaker 1: You have to use every single tool available to you
- 27:45Speaker 1: to actually push back to reduce the harm in your
- 27:47Speaker 1: community and make sure you're holding folks accountable, but also
- 27:50Speaker 1: to literally be able to advance an agenda that's gonna
- 27:53Speaker 1: support your community. And that's real. Whether you vote or not,
- 27:56Speaker 1: somebody's gonna be elected. If you want to listen to
- 27:58Speaker 1: this full interview with Natasha Brown, it's a vay Low
- 28:01Speaker 1: on Money Making Conversation dot Com. Now let's return to
- 28:04Speaker 1: Money Making Conversations Masterclass with Rashan McDonald. Because I got
- 28:08Speaker 1: a quick call in Caller Coma and Thomas from Atlanta. Thomas,
- 28:12Speaker 1: you gotta shout out for the five years celebration. What's
- 28:15Speaker 1: happened my brother, Roshan is Thomas. I've been saying its
- 28:19Speaker 1: frame the spear of mac. Best to get through on
- 28:24Speaker 1: the line on this fifth year anniversary with all these
- 28:27Speaker 1: heavy hitters and v ips and the house, I have
- 28:29Speaker 1: no idea if I just want to tell you congratulations, brother,
- 28:32Speaker 1: keep doing what you're doing. Counsel Mike, I love you.
- 28:35Speaker 1: You met you continue to inspire me brother. That song
- 28:38Speaker 1: I want to win big sir, Yes, sir, yes, Hey, Thomas,
- 28:42Speaker 1: I owe you a visit. More importantly, man, you inspire man,
- 28:45Speaker 1: I owe you another visit back on the show. You know,
- 28:48Speaker 1: because of the fact that so many people called and
- 28:50Speaker 1: were inspired by what you're doing as an entrepreneur, following
- 28:53Speaker 1: your dreams, not in the craft that you mastered, but
- 28:56Speaker 1: educating yourself to understand the opportunity as a business person.
- 28:59Speaker 1: That's I was important. That's why I'm doing this show
- 29:02Speaker 1: inspiring young entrepreneurs like you, to give you a varce
- 29:05Speaker 1: because you, truly, Thomas, are the stars of the community.
- 29:08Speaker 1: You pay your taxes, you move forward with our community.
- 29:11Speaker 1: You're positive influence and also you show us the way
- 29:15Speaker 1: that there's different things you can do in life to
- 29:17Speaker 1: be successful. Keep doing what you're doing. And guess what, Yes,
- 29:21Speaker 1: I got heavy hitters. But in the community, Thomas, you're
- 29:23Speaker 1: heavy hitter too. Okay, but I appreciate. I'm a humble
- 29:26Speaker 1: congratulations of pie, piece of blessings of you both. I appreciate. Now,
- 29:31Speaker 1: my girl, my next Gifts is an Emmy Award winning journalist,
- 29:34Speaker 1: television personality, author, producer, philanthropist. Because really, you know, when
- 29:38Speaker 1: she comes on my show, we always talk about her television,
- 29:41Speaker 1: we never really get into what her program really is
- 29:45Speaker 1: besides being in a wonderful HBC. You graduated spelled Me University,
- 29:48Speaker 1: which is right around the corner at Clark Atlanta University.
- 29:51Speaker 1: She established SEAN which is s h a u N
- 29:55Speaker 1: s h a u N Foundation for Girls with Nurtures
- 29:58Speaker 1: and supports underserved to represented girls and young women in
- 30:02Speaker 1: the areas of STEM Health, art Unity neighborhoods. Please welcome
- 30:07Speaker 1: to my five year anniversary celebration, the one and only
- 30:11Speaker 1: Sean Robinson. How you doing, Sean. Happy anniversary to you, you,
- 30:18Speaker 1: Happy ay, Happy anniversary to you. You know we we
- 30:23Speaker 1: met in l a O over twenty twenty some years ago.
- 30:27Speaker 1: We just leave like twenties something years ago. And uh
- 30:30Speaker 1: and you know about how long ago it has been.
- 30:33Speaker 1: It has been quite a two decades. Yes it has been, Yes,
- 30:37Speaker 1: it has been. And I've seen you grow as a
- 30:39Speaker 1: talent from in front of the camera to the behind
- 30:42Speaker 1: the counter. Is that coutive beducing you know? But but
- 30:46Speaker 1: when you came in l a talent was your priority
- 30:49Speaker 1: just being account which wanted to be in the host
- 30:51Speaker 1: because that's what you did in Detroit until you was
- 30:53Speaker 1: just marrying and minding that numbers one skill set. What
- 30:57Speaker 1: what came into your life that made you realize that
- 31:00Speaker 1: you can do more behind the camera to show well,
- 31:03Speaker 1: thank you, thank you. I was. I was so excited
- 31:07Speaker 1: to get the invitation to join you today because it
- 31:11Speaker 1: has been quite a long journey. And you know, Rashan,
- 31:14Speaker 1: I've worked in five television markets, UM, you know, not
- 31:18Speaker 1: only my hometown Detroit, Michigan, and I worked in Miami, Milwaukee, Austin, Texas,
- 31:26Speaker 1: UM and and my parents and grandparents always taught me
- 31:32Speaker 1: that if God gives you a platform, use it to
- 31:34Speaker 1: get back. And I was raised in the church and
- 31:36Speaker 1: my my family was all philanthropic. And when I say philanthropic,
- 31:41Speaker 1: I don't necessarily mean like the UM you know, not
- 31:45Speaker 1: like they had a non big nonprofit or that they
- 31:48Speaker 1: were able to give, you know, lots of money weight.
- 31:51Speaker 1: But they did it with their time and their energy
- 31:54Speaker 1: and and counseling young people and giving time to their
- 31:57Speaker 1: church and their community. Those are the real philanthropists I think,
- 32:01Speaker 1: in our in our society. And so they just always
- 32:04Speaker 1: instilled in me UM that you you know the reason
- 32:09Speaker 1: that we are here is to help other people, and
- 32:12Speaker 1: so I've always wanted to have a nonprofit. I've always
- 32:15Speaker 1: you know, worked in the nonprofit space, and so UM,
- 32:20Speaker 1: seeing the struggles that our young women face growing up,
- 32:25Speaker 1: it made me very passionate about just wanting to where
- 32:29Speaker 1: can I use my voice to this and it was
- 32:31Speaker 1: with underserved and under represented girls and those are predominantly,
- 32:35Speaker 1: as we know, girls of color and black girls. And
- 32:38Speaker 1: so UM, I'm I'm really thankful to be in this
- 32:42Speaker 1: space and the and to be able to say that
- 32:45Speaker 1: we have helped so many girls, um since the beginning
- 32:48Speaker 1: of the Sean Foundation for Girls. So and thank you
- 32:51Speaker 1: for always promoting what we do and helping people know
- 32:57Speaker 1: the mission that we serve and help elevate our platform too.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Well you know your black excellence, you know in the
- 33:02Speaker 1: HBCU grad But more importantly, you know when I transition
- 33:06Speaker 1: and uh stop managing Steve Harvey and started developing this idea.
- 33:10Speaker 1: You're one of the first people I called, Sean said
- 33:12Speaker 1: when you come on my show, would you support my vision?
- 33:15Speaker 1: Will support my dream? And you didn't hesitate. And that's
- 33:18Speaker 1: why you know when I when I sit up here
- 33:20Speaker 1: and want to celebrate, you celebrate with friends. You celebrate
- 33:22Speaker 1: with people who support you, people who believe in you,
- 33:25Speaker 1: and you've always believed them in, just as I've always
- 33:28Speaker 1: believed in you. And that this call in a lot
- 33:30Speaker 1: of ways, is to say thank you for people like
- 33:32Speaker 1: you and other people who have called in today, and
- 33:35Speaker 1: we'll be calling in today to say, while this journey
- 33:38Speaker 1: of trying to be successful or trying to achieve longevity
- 33:42Speaker 1: is really only achieved by having people in your life
- 33:46Speaker 1: who support you. Correct. Yes, And you know, I think
- 33:50Speaker 1: that because of the business that we've spent so many
- 33:53Speaker 1: years in and still are in entertainment business, a lot
- 33:56Speaker 1: of it is just, um, you know, it is instilled
- 34:01Speaker 1: in you to get more, to get more, to get more.
- 34:04Speaker 1: It's all you know, how how many shows can I get,
- 34:08Speaker 1: how much money can I get? How many how much
- 34:10Speaker 1: you know, how big is my audience? All of that,
- 34:14Speaker 1: and and it's easy to get caught up in that
- 34:17Speaker 1: and think that that's why we are here to just
- 34:20Speaker 1: get more stuff. Um. But you know, when you have people,
- 34:25Speaker 1: and and when I first came to Hollywood, that was
- 34:29Speaker 1: you know, that was a real shock to me because
- 34:31Speaker 1: many relationships are transactional. That people are in relationships or
- 34:35Speaker 1: they just want to meet people because it helps benefit them.
- 34:39Speaker 1: But then you hope to find a community like I
- 34:41Speaker 1: have found with you and so many other people, that
- 34:44Speaker 1: it is about helping each other, and not only helping
- 34:47Speaker 1: us each other succeed in our business ventures, but helping
- 34:51Speaker 1: us realize our dream so that we can help other people.
- 34:55Speaker 1: And what you do, you're giving back and helping us
- 34:58Speaker 1: become better and helping us live our lives better. I
- 35:01Speaker 1: mean that you know that is is uh that that's
- 35:05Speaker 1: so important that we help each other because we're kind
- 35:08Speaker 1: of all angels in this in this in this in
- 35:12Speaker 1: this realm, and so uh yeah, yeah, I'm just thankful
- 35:16Speaker 1: to have your friendship. And I see all the things

- 36:14Speaker 1: You know every time I look up, you know, to
- 36:17Speaker 1: get money out of my pocket because my wife always
- 36:20Speaker 1: tells me, you gotta donate, you gotta say the kids,
- 36:23Speaker 1: you got your laughs. She's the one and on it.

- 36:42Speaker 1: first of all, I gotta say, do not thank me,
- 36:46Speaker 1: because I have to begin with thanking you and congratulating
- 36:50Speaker 1: you from the bottom of my heart. You have been
- 36:53Speaker 1: there and it's just so interesting. I was just listening
- 36:55Speaker 1: to Sean Uh finished her conversation. So I guess is
- 36:59Speaker 1: the day of the Robbie girls just shedding light and
- 37:01Speaker 1: love you know, I'm so proud of you, and I'm
- 37:04Speaker 1: just so humbled, and I'm so grateful, and I'm just
- 37:07Speaker 1: so excited for every opportunity that is coming your way.
- 37:11Speaker 1: How are you well, I'm doing first of all, I'm
- 37:14Speaker 1: doing great and and and I really you know, it's
- 37:17Speaker 1: just a gearback show because of the fact that when
- 37:21Speaker 1: when you know, we all came to Hollywood just trying
- 37:24Speaker 1: to find out dreams, and you know, when the opportunities came,
- 37:27Speaker 1: we got it, and we were from fortunately have a career.
- 37:30Speaker 1: We've had. We have careers in Holly and but you
- 37:34Speaker 1: along the way The Amazing Grace Wow. Yeah, yeah, my
- 37:42Speaker 1: boy Tracy, he's no longer with us. Y'all. Y'all saw
- 37:46Speaker 1: a dream the a GC Amazing Grace Conservatory Stories nine seven. Okay.
- 37:52Speaker 1: I went to Hollywood ninety two four. Okay, so way
- 37:56Speaker 1: back then. She had this vision when when it really
- 37:59Speaker 1: we aren't making have much money, We wasn't making no
- 38:03Speaker 1: money out work. You've been in this business longer than me.
- 38:08Speaker 1: Absolutely kill everybody about them A c Wow. Where do
- 38:13Speaker 1: I begin. I'm just going to start from the heart
- 38:15Speaker 1: because I was born and raised in South central l A.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Many people don't know. Yeah, so I was there. So
- 38:21Speaker 1: Hollywood has always been a dream, but it just seems
- 38:24Speaker 1: so far away from me. And um, you know my mom,
- 38:27Speaker 1: you know, she was a nurse. My dad was a
- 38:29Speaker 1: maleman and a janitor. And I was just, you know,
- 38:32Speaker 1: over Zella's child that just had all of these dreams
- 38:34Speaker 1: and wanted to do it. But they just didn't know
- 38:36Speaker 1: how to get me into the business at the time,
- 38:38Speaker 1: so they just put me in classes and training. And
- 38:41Speaker 1: then one thing led to together and I went on
- 38:43Speaker 1: to Howard and I came out of Howard and I
- 38:45Speaker 1: I couldn't get a job, I couldn't get an agent,
- 38:47Speaker 1: I couldn't get any eyeballs or anything to look at me,
- 38:50Speaker 1: and all I knew and I just had to believe
- 38:53Speaker 1: in my gift. And I met Tracy Lamar Coley, who
- 38:56Speaker 1: was a More house man, and we met on the
- 38:59Speaker 1: road because that was at the time before Tyler Perry,
- 39:02Speaker 1: where we would go on the road and tour and
- 39:04Speaker 1: do plays with Shelley Garrett. I won't even know if
- 39:07Speaker 1: you and I had this conversation, but Shelley Garrett I
- 39:10Speaker 1: was in beauty shops and we toured for like two
- 39:13Speaker 1: years and then I met Tracy in the gospel play
- 39:16Speaker 1: with Mike Matthews. Anyway, cut short two. We finished the
- 39:21Speaker 1: tour and ended up teaching at Marla Gibbs Performing Arts
- 39:24Speaker 1: School in South l A. It was called Cross Boats
- 39:28Speaker 1: Arts Academy, and we did a summer there. I taught
- 39:31Speaker 1: dance and he taught boys. And she closed her doors
- 39:35Speaker 1: and it was like eighty some odd kids and it
- 39:38Speaker 1: was like, but Marta, and you can't close your doors.
- 39:41Speaker 1: You know, were in the middle was what's going on?
- 39:44Speaker 1: She was like, you know what, it's just too much baby.
- 39:46Speaker 1: If you and Tracy want to take this on, she
- 39:48Speaker 1: gave us the blessing, and she gave us the wherewithal
- 39:51Speaker 1: and we put our heads and our hearts together and
- 39:54Speaker 1: we created a curriculum. We found the location, and it
- 39:59Speaker 1: has become more than we could have ever dreamt, more
- 40:02Speaker 1: than we could have ever even imagined. So that was
- 40:07Speaker 1: in nine six. Because we started as all God's children,
- 40:11Speaker 1: but we didn't have the business mind. We were two
- 40:13Speaker 1: artists without the business mind. So we learned a huge lesson,
- 40:17Speaker 1: lost a lot of money. We had a third partner.
- 40:19Speaker 1: I'm not even gonna go there because the lesson is
- 40:21Speaker 1: so deep. And then back how we became. We kept
- 40:24Speaker 1: the acronym all God's Children a g C and became
- 40:27Speaker 1: Amazing Grades Conservatory because once was blind, but now she
- 40:30Speaker 1: how to run a business. So I'm keeping it real one.
- 40:36Speaker 1: And that was in seven and we started as a
- 40:41Speaker 1: passion project is now just blossomed into something. So I mean,
- 40:47Speaker 1: efa ray what she is doing asking standers, Ryan Nicole Brown,
- 40:53Speaker 1: the alumni, you know, I want to say to how
- 40:56Speaker 1: your seeds should exceed to you And that's exactly what
- 40:59Speaker 1: the and I are doing right now, and they are
- 41:01Speaker 1: really coming back and creating something beyond you know what
- 41:06Speaker 1: Tracy and I ever dreamt the time. So it's just
- 41:10Speaker 1: I feel like it's the golden goose that laid the
- 41:13Speaker 1: golden egg, that laid the golden egg that just continually
- 41:16Speaker 1: just goes and grows. And it's just it's been life changing,
- 41:21Speaker 1: it really has. And you has you saw it when
- 41:25Speaker 1: nobody else saw it, and you every year you were
- 41:29Speaker 1: like how much of the scholarship you always you funded
- 41:33Speaker 1: at least ten scholarships. And then when we were on
- 41:35Speaker 1: a real low, you came in at a time right
- 41:38Speaker 1: before and you just gave us a lumpum. I'll never forget.
- 41:41Speaker 1: You gave was that six or eight thousand dollars check?
- 41:43Speaker 1: And I was like Lord Jesus and just but just
- 41:47Speaker 1: knowing that there are angels out there and you being one,
- 41:51Speaker 1: You're such a beacon of light. And you know, it
- 41:55Speaker 1: wasn't even about the money. Well it was about the money,
- 41:58Speaker 1: but it was the belief that you had in a
- 42:01Speaker 1: dream that I mean, you're you're one of our angels.
- 42:06Speaker 1: Thank you, you know what I mean, you electacy with that,
- 42:09Speaker 1: So thank you, thank you, because there was times it
- 42:14Speaker 1: was like, Okay, am I crazy, what is this we're doing?
- 42:16Speaker 1: You know, and trying to run a career in the
- 42:18Speaker 1: business that is you know, so inconsistent, but in building
- 42:23Speaker 1: the businesses. Now I twenty fifth anniversary, so I mean
- 42:28Speaker 1: shout out to you because you are definitely you were
- 42:31Speaker 1: the roots of that tree that is just giving and
- 42:34Speaker 1: giving and giving for the truth that it is burying.
- 42:37Speaker 1: You have a big part of that. And I'm just
- 42:39Speaker 1: so grateful for you and your anniversary. But Sean McDonald,
- 42:42Speaker 1: you are big. I appreciate it all. You know. The
- 42:45Speaker 1: thing about it, I know I've run it out of time.
- 42:47Speaker 1: They talk about Rahan. You're over talking here, but I
- 42:50Speaker 1: just wanted to win this talking. I'm gonna be quieting.
- 42:52Speaker 1: No no, no, no, no no, because I could go on.
- 42:55Speaker 1: I know you're gonna tell everybody that much. I'm giving
- 42:57Speaker 1: it all. I know you're gonna go there and every
- 42:59Speaker 1: the people gonna looking for me for donations. I'm sorry,
- 43:02Speaker 1: but again, you know, I just want people to hear
- 43:05Speaker 1: that side of you on my anniversary show, you know,
- 43:07Speaker 1: because we know just to start power, the film power.
- 43:11Speaker 1: We know the sitcoms, the movies, the plays, the tours,
- 43:15Speaker 1: but that whole a g c that's the beast. I'm
- 43:19Speaker 1: just I'm just a guy who feeding the fire and
- 43:21Speaker 1: I will not Wendy let that fire go out. And
- 43:24Speaker 1: my wife won't let it go out either, because she
- 43:27Speaker 1: believes in many You guys are amazing. What a power
- 43:31Speaker 1: couple with a power team. And I'm sorry, I didn't
- 43:34Speaker 1: even mean to talk about amounts because it's now, that's
- 43:37Speaker 1: all good, it's all good, it's a favor. It's just you.
- 43:40Speaker 1: You believe in a dream, you know, and when people
- 43:44Speaker 1: believe in that dream and come together, they say communities,
- 43:47Speaker 1: common unity. And you were so much a part of
- 43:49Speaker 1: that and thank you for being a part of our village.
- 43:52Speaker 1: I appreciate you. Thank you for calling it on my anniversary, Wendy,
- 43:57Speaker 1: appreciate you much. Love Now all your visit. When I

- 45:36Speaker 1: You've got to tell them who you've been knowing the
- 45:37Speaker 1: longest right here, just w C. Okay, that's the NPR.
- 45:47Speaker 1: You can't be using them extra words out there that okay,

- 45:54Speaker 1: There's there's a public where you go. Not Kim, now him.
- 46:01Speaker 1: I have been knowing you a long time. But the
- 46:03Speaker 1: beauty of it is that you continue to reinvent yourself.
- 46:08Speaker 1: You continue to understand the power relationships. And every time
- 46:14Speaker 1: I see you, your energy is always up. And we
- 46:17Speaker 1: know Hollywood can drag you down, but you always maintain
- 46:21Speaker 1: that high spirit. And now you know Sary Ship, but

- 46:29Speaker 1: and you've been doing Funny Mama's with her for years,

- 46:37Speaker 1: Kim on audible. Tell me about that. Oh look at you, right,
- 46:41Speaker 1: she said to that list. I do men. Lenaway started this,
- 46:45Speaker 1: uh a few years ago. You're just gonna throw our
- 46:48Speaker 1: lean away name, like it's a throwaway name. That's what
- 46:51Speaker 1: you're going through that I did, so I did. I
- 46:56Speaker 1: did really, writer Lena Rate, so um, you know, we
- 47:03Speaker 1: we started this as a TV show with Amazon, and
- 47:09Speaker 1: Amazon did some changes and so we were like, we
- 47:12Speaker 1: don't want to let it go. Len It was like,
- 47:14Speaker 1: this is a great story. So it became like I
- 47:16Speaker 1: like to say, like a radio theater audible uh theater.
- 47:21Speaker 1: So it's a they called it. The podcast was really
- 47:24Speaker 1: a audible theory. And it comes out with the name
- 47:28Speaker 1: Kim k y m my name, and it's really uh
- 47:33Speaker 1: pictition kinda of my life with Joshua, how we did
- 47:39Speaker 1: raising Whitley. But I think the story of comedian getting
- 47:44Speaker 1: my baby boy and all the Shenaniicans that go with it.
- 47:48Speaker 1: So that comes out actually October twenties, so very excited
- 47:51Speaker 1: about We're good. I'm very I'm very you know, like
- 47:54Speaker 1: you said then. Also, you've always been the ambassador. You know,
- 47:57Speaker 1: we watch an ambassador, you know, because you know, I
- 48:00Speaker 1: remember when you Kim, you know Kim, you know she
- 48:03Speaker 1: was talking about what she called one thing. You know,
- 48:04Speaker 1: I was talking to Oprah again like she dropped that
- 48:07Speaker 1: little Lena weight like it was you know, ordinary people.
- 48:10Speaker 1: I was talking to Oprah overtold me that it recommended
- 48:12Speaker 1: to that duc. Now you just be dropping these big
- 48:15Speaker 1: names around, but you an't like you know, you just
- 48:17Speaker 1: record or you just bigger than Rashaw now or Rashaw
- 48:21Speaker 1: don't know who we talked to. Now. I need to
- 48:23Speaker 1: show you a little bit more respect. What's going on camp? Okay?
- 48:26Speaker 1: Because I have known your long time. Yes, first of all,
- 48:29Speaker 1: happy anniversary five years. I think I was on the

- 48:37Speaker 1: lot of people don't understand that you have been behind
- 48:40Speaker 1: a lot of them, you know. And how we move
- 48:43Speaker 1: in this business, how we talk, how we think in
- 48:46Speaker 1: this business, how we dressed in this business. Um, that
- 48:50Speaker 1: even with Sherry. You know, you gave Sherry some late advice.
- 48:53Speaker 1: You know, she called me to tell me you gave
- 48:55Speaker 1: all the advice. I said, first of all, he was
- 48:57Speaker 1: my friend. First I got left. I was like, oh
- 49:02Speaker 1: he called you, okay, but he was my friend first.
- 49:04Speaker 1: So first of all, thank you for that. You know
- 49:08Speaker 1: that you that all the things that you've done for
- 49:11Speaker 1: us and pouring into our career. First of all, thank

- 49:17Speaker 1: you know the go ahead, we know the thing about it,
- 49:20Speaker 1: because you're telling me I got to run it out
- 49:22Speaker 1: of time here, so I gotta say goodbye here like

- 49:35Speaker 1: my phone. So Richard, when you want me to call
- 49:36Speaker 1: in and I just think that I just want to
- 49:39Speaker 1: say thank you. I want to say thank you because
- 49:41Speaker 1: sometimes there's dark days and you don't know who to call.
- 49:44Speaker 1: And this is ain't the ghost supost The theme here,
- 49:46Speaker 1: This is about calling people who respect you, believing you,
- 49:50Speaker 1: and you can depend on and you've always been there
- 49:52Speaker 1: for you, for me. That's why I wanted you to
- 49:54Speaker 1: be the last person on the show so I can
