Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / Trump Wants YOU to Help Find Government Waste

- 0:00Speaker 1: Oh, it's absolutely upseeing dangerous bad. Virtually every investment made
- 0:05Speaker 1: is a conjob. There's nothing of value to anybody unless
- 0:09Speaker 1: there's a kickback scheme going on, which is possible in
- 0:12Speaker 1: the entrillions of dollars being absolutely wasted.
- 0:15Speaker 2: And perhaps illingally.
- 0:16Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
- 0:20Speaker 4: Good Tuesday morning, Ben Ferguson with you. It's so nice
- 0:23Speaker 4: to have you with us. And these are the big
- 0:24Speaker 4: stories we're covering today on the forty seven Morning Update.
- 0:28Speaker 4: First up, Donald Trump is now asking for your help
- 0:32Speaker 4: in finding government waste.
- 0:34Speaker 2: He's also asking.
- 0:35Speaker 4: For government employees to let him know exactly what they
- 0:39Speaker 4: can do to cut out waste where they're working. Liberals
- 0:42Speaker 4: are angry. I'll have that story for you in just
- 0:44Speaker 4: a moment. Also, you may remember the botched withdrawal from
- 0:48Speaker 4: Afghanistan in August of twenty twenty one cost the lives
- 0:52Speaker 4: of thirteen US service members. What was even worse than
- 0:55Speaker 4: that is the fact there was zero accountability. No one
- 0:58Speaker 4: lost their job under the bi in Harris administration. Well,
- 1:01Speaker 4: we now have been told there is an investigation underway
- 1:05Speaker 4: to find out exactly what happened and what the cover
- 1:08Speaker 4: up was.
- 1:08Speaker 2: I'll explain who's in charge of it in just a moment.
- 1:11Speaker 4: And finally, Donald Trump is calling for major reform at
- 1:15Speaker 4: the FAA.
- 1:16Speaker 2: So what'd the media do.
- 1:18Speaker 4: They're now blaming Donald Trump and Elon Musk for a
- 1:22Speaker 4: plane crash, not in America but in Canada. It's the
- 1:25Speaker 4: forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Story number one.
- 1:30Speaker 2: There's a word we're.
- 1:30Speaker 4: Starting to hear come out of the White House, and
- 1:32Speaker 4: the word is called kickbacks. Apparently, now many people in
- 1:36Speaker 4: our government have been using your tax dollars to quote
- 1:39Speaker 4: invest in different things, and in reality they may have
- 1:43Speaker 4: just been servicing themselves with kickbacks. The President talking about
- 1:47Speaker 4: this at the White House, saying, it's time that we
- 1:49Speaker 4: demand to know who is on the take and why
- 1:53Speaker 4: they were making investments in the things that should have
- 1:55Speaker 4: never been allowed.
- 1:57Speaker 1: It's absolutely obscene, dangerous, spared, very costly. I mean, virtually
- 2:02Speaker 1: every investment made is a conjob. There's nothing of value
- 2:08Speaker 1: to anybody unless there's a kickback scheme going on, which
- 2:11Speaker 1: is possible, and we're going to be doing more and
- 2:14Speaker 1: more of that. We're going to be looking at Department
- 2:16Speaker 1: of education. We're going to be looking at even our military.
- 2:19Speaker 1: We're going to be looking at tremendous amounts of money
- 2:21Speaker 1: Peter are being spent on things that bear no relationship
- 2:25Speaker 1: to anything, that have no value. We're talking about trillions
- 2:29Speaker 1: of dollars. It will be in the end trillions of
- 2:31Speaker 1: dollars being absolutely wasted, and perhaps illegally, I would say
- 2:35Speaker 1: certainly in many cases illegally, but perhaps illegally overall. And
- 2:40Speaker 1: I'm very proud of the job that this group of
- 2:42Speaker 1: young people, generally young people, but very smart people they're doing.
- 2:46Speaker 1: They're doing it at my insistence. It would be a
- 2:49Speaker 1: lot easier not to do it. But we have to
- 2:52Speaker 1: take some of these things apart to find the corruption.
- 2:54Speaker 1: We found tremendous corruption.
- 2:56Speaker 2: We found tremendous corruption.
- 2:58Speaker 4: Now the President is asking for government employees help and
- 3:01Speaker 4: also the public's help. The Department of Government Efficiency is
- 3:05Speaker 4: quote looking for help identifying government waste, setting up more
- 3:09Speaker 4: than two dozen affiliates to help organize the mass effort
- 3:13Speaker 4: to audit the federal government after years of unchecked waste,
- 3:16Speaker 4: fraud and abuse. Quote dog is looking for help from
- 3:19Speaker 4: the general public. Please DM insights for reducing waste, fraud
- 3:24Speaker 4: and abuse. So along with any helpful insights or awesome
- 3:27Speaker 4: ideas to the relevant DOGE affiliates found on the affiliates
- 3:32Speaker 4: tab it was posted online. For example, they say you
- 3:35Speaker 4: can check out doge USDA or doge SSA. It announced
- 3:41Speaker 4: adding it plans to add more affiliates as time goes on. Indeed,
- 3:45Speaker 4: a brief look at Dog's affiliates tablists show more than
- 3:49Speaker 4: two dozen DOGE accounts designed for various departments across the government.
- 3:55Speaker 4: There is a Doge for the Department of State, the
- 3:58Speaker 4: US Interior, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, National Parks,
- 4:03Speaker 4: the Department of Education, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Department
- 4:08Speaker 4: of Transportation FEMA, even the IRS, and the Treasury Department,
- 4:13Speaker 4: among others. The White House saying it's time for the
- 4:17Speaker 4: people that work in these agencies that want to expose
- 4:20Speaker 4: what's been going on to have a place, a safe
- 4:23Speaker 4: place to do it. Now, the announcement comes on the
- 4:25Speaker 4: hills of doges highlighting waste in relation to the Treasury Department. Now,
- 4:29Speaker 4: this is a perfect example of just how egregious government
- 4:34Speaker 4: waste is in our government. The Treasury processed one hundred
- 4:39Speaker 4: and sixteen million paper checks in the fiscal year twenty
- 4:44Speaker 4: twenty four. Now you may say, what's the big deal, Well,
- 4:47Speaker 4: let's go back to the fiscal year twenty twenty three
- 4:50Speaker 4: when there was twenty five billion in tax refunds that
- 4:54Speaker 4: were delayed or lost due to a returned or expired check.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Coach has now uncovered. What's even more shocking than that
- 5:03Speaker 4: is quote the Treasury maintains a physical lock box network
- 5:09Speaker 4: to collect checks for tax irs, passports the state Department,
- 5:14Speaker 4: and it costs approximately two dollars and forty cents per
- 5:19Speaker 4: check to maintain this lock box network. Now you may say, okay,
- 5:25Speaker 4: doesn't seem like a lot of money. Well, here's where
- 5:28Speaker 4: DOGE came in. If we deleted the paper checks, it
- 5:32Speaker 4: would have saved at least seven hundred and fifty million
- 5:36Speaker 4: dollars for taxpayers per year. The Department of Government Efficiency
- 5:40Speaker 4: says it's long overdue for us to get rid of
- 5:42Speaker 4: the paper checks that are costing you seven hundred and
- 5:46Speaker 4: fifty million dollars a year.
- 5:48Speaker 2: That's not all.
- 5:49Speaker 4: DOGES also provide a list of massive wins for American
- 5:52Speaker 4: taxpayers over the weekend, listing some of the shocking ways
- 5:55Speaker 4: that American taxpayer dollars were posed to be used and
- 5:59Speaker 4: they stopped it. It included ten million for the Mozambique
- 6:03Speaker 4: Voluntary medical mail circumcision program. Your tax dollars, we're going
- 6:08Speaker 4: to go to that, fourteen million dollars for improving public
- 6:13Speaker 4: procurement not in America but in Serbia, twenty nine million
- 6:17Speaker 4: to quote strengthen political landscape in Bangladesh, and fourteen million
- 6:23Speaker 4: for social cohesion in Mali. Also another forty seven million
- 6:28Speaker 4: for improving learning outcomes not in America in Asia, and
- 6:33Speaker 4: nineteen million for biodiversity conservation in Nepal. These plans, according
- 6:39Speaker 4: to DOJE, have all been canceled. The President is now
- 6:44Speaker 4: asking and DOGE is asking for you to get involved
- 6:47Speaker 4: and tell them where you may have found waste, fraud
- 6:50Speaker 4: and abuse as well.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Next story number two.
- 6:53Speaker 4: One of the main promises that Donald Trump said if
- 6:55Speaker 4: he was reelected would be accountability. One of the things
- 6:58Speaker 4: on his list was clear Afghanistan and the bots withdraw
- 7:02Speaker 4: on that arbitrary date from the Biden Harris administration. During
- 7:06Speaker 4: that US withdrawal from Afghanistan, in August of twenty twenty one,
- 7:10Speaker 4: thirteen US service members were killed in a suicide bombing
- 7:14Speaker 4: at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul. It happened on
- 7:18Speaker 4: August to twenty sixth. The attack was carried out by
- 7:22Speaker 4: isis K and also resulted in the deaths of more
- 7:25Speaker 4: than one hundred and seventy Afghan civilians. The thirteen US
- 7:29Speaker 4: service members that were killed included eleven Marines, one Navy corman,
- 7:34Speaker 4: and one Army soldier. Additionally, eighteen other US service members
- 7:39Speaker 4: were wounded in that attack and beyond this attack, several
- 7:42Speaker 4: other military and civilian casualties occurred throughout the withdrawal, but
- 7:46Speaker 4: the bombing was the deadliest single incident for US troops
- 7:49Speaker 4: in Afghanistan in over a decade. Not a single person
- 7:53Speaker 4: was held accountable for the decisions that were made on
- 7:56Speaker 4: that day or in the days before or after. It
- 7:59Speaker 4: was completely whitewashed by the Biden Harris administration because Joe
- 8:03Speaker 4: Biden was obsessed at saying he was the president that
- 8:07Speaker 4: ended America's longest war and he went to grand stand
- 8:10Speaker 4: on the anniversary of nine to eleven. Well, accountability is coming.
- 8:15Speaker 4: The Defense Secretary, at the behest of the president has
- 8:19Speaker 4: now said in an interview that he has already picked
- 8:22Speaker 4: investigators who are going to be looking into the disastrous
- 8:25Speaker 4: Afghanistan withdrawal. Quote, we've already identified the folks that will
- 8:29Speaker 4: be in charge of that full investigation inside the Pentagon.
- 8:33Speaker 4: I don't have a timeframe on it. We've already waited
- 8:36Speaker 4: two and a half years, three years since what occurred.
- 8:39Speaker 4: I don't want to wait longer, but I always want
- 8:42Speaker 4: to get.
- 8:43Speaker 2: It right, he said. Now.
- 8:44Speaker 4: In July of twenty twenty one, as I mentioned, the
- 8:46Speaker 4: Biden administration launched that chaotic withdrawal of the US troops
- 8:51Speaker 4: and the embassy officials from Afghanistan that led to those
- 8:54Speaker 4: thirteen US service members dying. Part of the other untold
- 8:57Speaker 4: story is the fact that there are countless people well
- 9:00Speaker 4: that helped Americans, those that were translators, those that risked
- 9:04Speaker 4: their lives to save American lives who were then hunted
- 9:07Speaker 4: down by the Taliban after we withdrew. Now, in addition
- 9:11Speaker 4: to that, hundreds of Americans were actually left behind. Despite
- 9:16Speaker 4: the Biden administration touting the withdrawal as a success and
- 9:20Speaker 4: bragging about conducting the quote largest withdrawal in American history.
- 9:24Speaker 4: On its way out, the US military conducted a strike
- 9:27Speaker 4: meant to target the suicide bomber made things even worse
- 9:30Speaker 4: when it ended up killing an AID worker and his
- 9:32Speaker 4: family instead than Chairman of the Joint Chiefs at the time,
- 9:36Speaker 4: Mark Milly, touted it as a quote righteous strike. No
- 9:41Speaker 4: leader was held accountable or fired for any of this.
- 9:45Speaker 4: Only Marine Colonel Stuart Scheller, who demanded accountability in a
- 9:50Speaker 4: viral video, lost his career. Now the good news is
- 9:55Speaker 4: President Trump tried to write that wrong and appointed him
- 9:58Speaker 4: as his senior advisor to the Defense under Secretary for
- 10:02Speaker 4: Personnel and Readiness. Again, thank goodness, Donald Trump was reelected.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Head Seth said accountability is coming, and that's what he
- 10:10Speaker 4: wants the American people to know about.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Quote.
- 10:12Speaker 4: The way you establish real accountability is by establishing real
- 10:16Speaker 4: fact chains, chains of events information. What happened, why did
- 10:20Speaker 4: it happen, Who made the decisions, What was the reason
- 10:24Speaker 4: they made that decision, Why did they give advice or
- 10:28Speaker 4: not give advice? Why did they execute an order a
- 10:31Speaker 4: certain way? Did they speak up when they were supposed
- 10:34Speaker 4: to or did they sit quietly. I don't think there's
- 10:38Speaker 4: anybody that feels like there's been an honest accounting of
- 10:41Speaker 4: what happened in Afghanistan that is our job, Pete hedg
- 10:45Speaker 4: Seth said, So we're going to drive the full investigation
- 10:49Speaker 4: and get a full sense of what happened. And as
- 10:52Speaker 4: I stated to the workforce on Friday, I guess less
- 10:55Speaker 4: than a week ago, accountability will be coming for what
- 10:58Speaker 4: happened in Afghanistan. So what's important is to re establish
- 11:02Speaker 4: trust at the Defense Department.
- 11:04Speaker 3: And here is story number three.
- 11:05Speaker 4: There's a very good chance you actually don't hate the
- 11:09Speaker 4: mainstream media as much as you should. A perfect example
- 11:12Speaker 4: of this is what happened on Monday. There was a
- 11:14Speaker 4: news story that broke, and that was a story that
- 11:17Speaker 4: Elon Musk and SpaceX were coming in to help overhaul
- 11:21Speaker 4: the FAA.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Why Well, after the deadly plane crash in Washington, d C.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Just a few weeks ago, it is very clear that
- 11:29Speaker 4: our FAA and our system that controls airplanes is archaic
- 11:34Speaker 4: and in much need of an upgrade. Well, the media
- 11:38Speaker 4: cannot stand what's happening with Donald Trump and Elon Musk,
- 11:42Speaker 4: So now they're trying to blame the two of them
- 11:45Speaker 4: for a plane crash that happened on Monday outside of
- 11:49Speaker 4: the United States of America. NBC News went on Live
- 11:53Speaker 4: TV blaming Trump, Musk and Doge for an airplane flipping
- 11:59Speaker 4: while landing in Canada, not in America, but in Canada.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Take a listen.
- 12:05Speaker 5: I did want to, you know, underscore, to pick up
- 12:08Speaker 5: on the conversation you were just having. Though, in terms
- 12:10Speaker 5: of the recent string of aviation incidents, Tom, this is
- 12:14Speaker 5: gonna yet again raised a concern about FAA staffing air
- 12:20Speaker 5: traffic control staffing. Now, this is a Canadian air traffic
- 12:23Speaker 5: control tower, and this is under Canadian authority.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Once it crosses the border.
- 12:28Speaker 5: And yet, as you know, there has been this talk
- 12:30Speaker 5: about maybe staff cuts at the FAA as a part
- 12:33Speaker 5: of President Trump's effort to trim down the federal workforce.
- 12:37Speaker 5: And yet, as you also know, the FAA has been
- 12:39Speaker 5: complaining for years that they are understaffed and critical job positions,
- 12:43Speaker 5: especially air traffic control. I was having a conversation with
- 12:46Speaker 5: somebody today about whether air traffic control in America is
- 12:50Speaker 5: being affected by the staff cuts so far, not to
- 12:52Speaker 5: their knowledge, and yet other positions related to maintaining critical
- 12:57Speaker 5: equipment appeared to have been cut. So this is going
- 12:59Speaker 5: to feed into all of these recent incidents, and the
- 13:02Speaker 5: safety of the total air traffic system is going to
- 13:04Speaker 5: be very much a part of the conversation as we
- 13:07Speaker 5: go forward, at least on this side of the country
- 13:09Speaker 5: of the border, I should say.
- 13:11Speaker 2: So, let's be clear about what you just heard.
- 13:13Speaker 4: NBC News is telling you that this plane was not
- 13:17Speaker 4: under the control of FAA. It was under the control
- 13:20Speaker 4: of Canada's air traffic control tower, and it was under
- 13:24Speaker 4: quote Canadian authority once it crossed the border. And yet
- 13:29Speaker 4: they are blaming Donald Trump and Elon Musk for fictitious
- 13:34Speaker 4: job cuts that had nothing to do with what was
- 13:37Speaker 4: happening in Canada. They also are saying that even after
- 13:42Speaker 4: they looked into this, no one is saying that the
- 13:44Speaker 4: people that were being cut by DOGE at the Transportation
- 13:48Speaker 4: Administration or the FAA had anything to do with unsafe
- 13:53Speaker 4: flying conditions or people not being in the tower to
- 13:57Speaker 4: control the airplanes. However, they s don't wanted you to
- 14:00Speaker 4: blame Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and DOGE for a plane
- 14:05Speaker 4: that flipped over in Canada, not in the United States
- 14:08Speaker 4: of America. If you don't hate the media after hearing this,
- 14:12Speaker 4: you need to pay more attention to exactly what they're doing.
- 14:16Speaker 4: One final thought on this story, as they're saying this
- 14:19Speaker 4: on NBC News. They are taking a picture of the
- 14:22Speaker 4: plane as it is flipped upside down and behind them
- 14:26Speaker 4: on the hangar in massive red letters, it says Air Canada.
- 14:30Speaker 4: Hopefully the American people are smart enough to be looking
- 14:33Speaker 4: at this crash and realizing this has nothing to do
- 14:37Speaker 4: with Donald Trump.
