- 1:54Speaker 1: holds the honor of writing and publishing their first full
- 1:57Speaker 1: Bible commentary and study. But African American, that's impressive. Pastor
- 2:02Speaker 1: Tony Evans and his family this is why he's on
- 2:04Speaker 1: the show. Shares moments from their tour of Israel and
- 2:07Speaker 1: the upcoming documentary Journey with Jesus, when they retraced the
- 2:12Speaker 1: steps of our Savior. Dr Tony Evers is on the
- 2:14Speaker 1: show to discuss this new film and it's in conjunction
- 2:17Speaker 1: with Phantom Event Releases. This limited theaters nowhere with fifteen
- 2:22Speaker 1: through the seventeen. It is filmed on site in Israel.
- 2:25Speaker 1: It's a new documentary. Please welcome to Money Conversation. For
- 2:29Speaker 1: the very first time I've had his family on the show,
- 2:31Speaker 1: and we're gonna talk about that. Dr Tony Evans, how
- 2:34Speaker 1: you doing, sir? Hello, gonna be with you. Well, the
- 2:38Speaker 1: beauty of having you on your show because I always
- 2:40Speaker 1: try to do a little research first on later. Everybody know,
- 2:42Speaker 1: we're gonna talk about Journey with Jesus. I I I
- 2:46Speaker 1: called that a visual sermon, sir. That's what was my takeaway.
- 2:51Speaker 1: It is. It's the opening and I'm not gonna give
- 2:54Speaker 1: away the details of the of the documentary, but the
- 2:59Speaker 1: but I can't share the emotion of the documentary Journey
- 3:03Speaker 1: with Jesus is that, you know, like I said, you
- 3:06Speaker 1: know I was I'm born and raised in Houston, Texas.
- 3:08Speaker 1: And when I first moved to New York, I you know,
- 3:12Speaker 1: I knew about Broadway, I knew about you know, the
- 3:15Speaker 1: Statue of Liberty. When I saw it, it had an
- 3:18Speaker 1: emotion to me. When I saw the Empire State Building.
- 3:22Speaker 1: It had an emotion to me when I moved to
- 3:24Speaker 1: Los Angeles and I walked down and so the Chinese
- 3:27Speaker 1: Man Theater, and so the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and
- 3:30Speaker 1: then the Santa Monica Beaches. It is so resonated in
- 3:33Speaker 1: my life that it had an emotional pool to me,
- 3:36Speaker 1: and I went wow, I didn't realize how much it's
- 3:39Speaker 1: had an effect on me. And I only say that
- 3:41Speaker 1: because being a man who preaches the Word of God
- 3:45Speaker 1: and then it shares these blessings and come in some words,
- 3:49Speaker 1: allows us to understand these blessings by through your teachings,
- 3:52Speaker 1: going to Israel has to have an amazing emotional pool
- 3:58Speaker 1: to you. Correct, well, absolutely. In fact, what we're trying
- 4:03Speaker 1: to do is get people to join me and the
- 4:05Speaker 1: experience that I and my family had when we were there.
- 4:08Speaker 1: I mean, you're watching the Bible come off the page
- 4:12Speaker 1: of scripture and become a living experience in your life.
- 4:16Speaker 1: It's one thing to know about the Lord, it's another
- 4:18Speaker 1: thing to experience the Lord. And this this documentary was
- 4:22Speaker 1: designed to bring people into a visual experience of the Lord,
- 4:28Speaker 1: where he did what he did, where he lived, where
- 4:31Speaker 1: he demonstrated his glory where he did his miracles, where
- 4:34Speaker 1: he taught his lessons, so that you are entering into
- 4:37Speaker 1: the moment and it becomes a dynamic reality rather than
- 4:43Speaker 1: a theoretical informational session. Well, you know, it's like one
- 4:47Speaker 1: of my favorite shows of TV is Aerial America. You
- 4:50Speaker 1: know that show that shows the world from a visual Uh.
- 4:54Speaker 1: From that ten thousand square feet high air you looked out,
- 4:58Speaker 1: you get a perspective the power of of of of
- 5:02Speaker 1: the world that we don't appreciate sometimes. And when I
- 5:06Speaker 1: went from the very opening, I went wow, I felt
- 5:09Speaker 1: a strong presence to this series. What was what was
- 5:13Speaker 1: the story you was trying to tell visually? Dr Tony
- 5:16Speaker 1: Evans with Journey with Jesus, because there are two stories.
- 5:18Speaker 1: There's an oral story, but the visual story I think
- 5:21Speaker 1: played an important role to tell us about that. Well,
- 5:25Speaker 1: what we tried to do is combine the sites with
- 5:28Speaker 1: the sound. You know, when you look at the TV,
- 5:30Speaker 1: you don't just want to hear the hear the sound.
- 5:33Speaker 1: You want to picture, but you don't want to picture
- 5:35Speaker 1: without the sounds. We want to excite and sound. So
- 5:38Speaker 1: what we tried to do with Show Where Jesus was
- 5:42Speaker 1: what happened there give you the truth of scripture, while
- 5:46Speaker 1: we gave you the visual context of where that particular
- 5:50Speaker 1: passage or that particular truth took place. So you're seeing
- 5:55Speaker 1: what you're hearing and not just hearing what you're hearing.
- 5:58Speaker 1: And so we did that with each of the side. Eh.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Many people have never been to Israel uh, and you
- 6:03Speaker 1: can't go right now very easily, and so this way
- 6:06Speaker 1: they can they can go onto Jesus Journey and join us.
- 6:09Speaker 1: As we went on to Jesus Journey, we talked about
- 6:12Speaker 1: seven people with us who went on the journey with us.
- 6:15Speaker 1: But I thought was, but why limit this the seven hundred?
- 6:18Speaker 1: Why don't we film it so people who can't go
- 6:20Speaker 1: Heaven gone or need to need to go again can
- 6:23Speaker 1: can join the Evans clan in this journey. And so
- 6:27Speaker 1: it was an exciting thing to be able to give
- 6:30Speaker 1: people what we were seeing and let them see it
- 6:32Speaker 1: at the same time we were seeing it. Well, you know,
- 6:35Speaker 1: let's talk about that whole journey, because this is an emotion.
- 6:38Speaker 1: It was. It was funny when I watched it, you
- 6:40Speaker 1: always looked like you were stepping down into something. You
- 6:43Speaker 1: was always stepping down, you know. Is that the way
- 6:45Speaker 1: just the natural the natural architect or high everything is
- 6:48Speaker 1: laid out because you was always going down down, stepping
- 6:52Speaker 1: down into into some hollow chamber until some some room
- 6:56Speaker 1: or some some some space. So talk about that whole architecture.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Dr Tony Evans. Well, of course you have a lot
- 7:03Speaker 1: of rolling areas in the in the Holy Land, and
- 7:06Speaker 1: then of course in many places they built monuments to
- 7:12Speaker 1: what happened or what is believed to have happened on
- 7:14Speaker 1: that particular site. And in giving a space for people
- 7:18Speaker 1: to gather, they created steps for you to enter into
- 7:22Speaker 1: that area. Because over time things have been uh, things
- 7:25Speaker 1: have been built up. So this allows you to to
- 7:29Speaker 1: to to flow with the topilo feel the land, while
- 7:33Speaker 1: at the very same time being at a place where
- 7:35Speaker 1: you can gather large groups of people to hear the
- 7:38Speaker 1: teaching that's taking place. Uh. Relative to the site and
- 7:42Speaker 1: location in which you are focusing on. How many times
- 7:46Speaker 1: have you been there? Because I let's heard Priscilla said
- 7:49Speaker 1: one other time you win, and when you first said,
- 7:51Speaker 1: you came back and just told the family your experience
- 7:54Speaker 1: and all that time. How many times have you been
- 7:55Speaker 1: to Israel? Dr Tony Evans, I've been there about five
- 7:58Speaker 1: times we uh, we leave the group of semi regular
- 8:01Speaker 1: basistory throughout National Ministry, they have an alternative and uh,
- 8:05Speaker 1: people who want to go with us and hear the
- 8:07Speaker 1: teachings and see the sites and so so yeah, this
- 8:10Speaker 1: was but each time it's a fresh experience and each
- 8:14Speaker 1: time there is new inspiration that comes because you are you,
- 8:19Speaker 1: you know, you in the spot, you there, well you know,
- 8:24Speaker 1: I know it, you know that, Like I said that
- 8:28Speaker 1: when I when I think about it, I remember when
- 8:29Speaker 1: I was in New York. I was going up to
- 8:32Speaker 1: be a stand up comedian and I came. I was.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I came out of the subway of forty two, and
- 8:37Speaker 1: I came out of that subway knowing this is what
- 8:40Speaker 1: I wanted to be, knowing this the place I wanted.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I just felt power. I felt this rush of emotion
- 8:46Speaker 1: that wow, I'm actually here and I'm fulfilling my dreams.
- 8:50Speaker 1: And so going to Israel for the very first time
- 8:52Speaker 1: for you had to be fulfilling the dream as well.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Dr Tony Evans talk to us about that very first
- 8:57Speaker 1: time because each time you you I see more, you know,
- 9:01Speaker 1: because things slow down. But that first time it's all
- 9:04Speaker 1: emotion and then you when you get back, you start
- 9:07Speaker 1: recollecting and say, I wish I would have done this.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Talk about that first time you'll visit to Israel, Well,
- 9:14Speaker 1: the first time is exciting anticipation because you know where
- 9:20Speaker 1: you're going, but you don't know all that you're gonna
- 9:23Speaker 1: see and you don't know how it will affect you.
- 9:26Speaker 1: But you know because you've never been that it is
- 9:30Speaker 1: something to look forward to. So there's great anticipation that
- 9:34Speaker 1: first time. So you kind of get hit with a
- 9:37Speaker 1: wall bang. You know you can you know, everything becomes
- 9:40Speaker 1: an aha moment when you're in the first experience. But
- 9:44Speaker 1: it's like studying the Bible. When you go back to
- 9:46Speaker 1: the passage that you've preached before, new things emerged that
- 9:51Speaker 1: you didn't see the first time you studied it or
- 9:53Speaker 1: preached from it. So the first time I visited Israel bam.
- 9:58Speaker 1: But now every time afterwards, I'm trying to go deeper,
- 10:01Speaker 1: see more experience more so that I can build on
- 10:04Speaker 1: top of that first time layers of excitement about who
- 10:09Speaker 1: Jesus is, what he did, and what he still can do. Right.
- 10:12Speaker 1: You know the interesting thing about because you know when
- 10:14Speaker 1: you talk about God, you talk about Jesus you talk
- 10:17Speaker 1: about anything that's historical or biblical. Television and movies have
- 10:21Speaker 1: their own versions of it, and so their own versions
- 10:24Speaker 1: can be big, overwhelming, and so like I remember when
- 10:30Speaker 1: I went to France and I went to London and
- 10:32Speaker 1: I started, I said, that's not that big. How many
- 10:36Speaker 1: people did it get in this little small area? Did
- 10:38Speaker 1: any of the any that the dimensions of the size
- 10:41Speaker 1: where events were held? Uh become understated When you actually
- 10:45Speaker 1: was their live, you went, wow, this is not what
- 10:48Speaker 1: I expected, but you still were inspired by it. Well, yeah,
- 10:52Speaker 1: number that. First of all, the land of Israel is
- 10:55Speaker 1: very compact. People are living very close together, you know.
- 11:00Speaker 1: You know, you you think you're gonna be driving a
- 11:02Speaker 1: long way and you're going across the street and you're
- 11:05Speaker 1: in a whole another another site, you know. Uh. So
- 11:09Speaker 1: so that is a lot of it in some places
- 11:11Speaker 1: of further than others, but a lot of it has
- 11:13Speaker 1: come back. So that that caught my attention. And then
- 11:16Speaker 1: when you look at the sites, for example, when we
- 11:19Speaker 1: went to Peter's house, because they are the architecture, uh,
- 11:25Speaker 1: and the archaeological digs came to Peter's Peter's home and
- 11:29Speaker 1: they were able to identify it. And so when you
- 11:32Speaker 1: when you went there and you saw what what a
- 11:35Speaker 1: house structure would look like back then, it you know,
- 11:38Speaker 1: and you didn't have a picture of that before. It
- 11:40Speaker 1: just says the Bible just tells you Peter's house. It
- 11:43Speaker 1: doesn't describe Peters house. So then you get to see it,
- 11:46Speaker 1: and all of a sudden, it shows you how different
- 11:49Speaker 1: our lives are the day from what they were experiencing
- 11:53Speaker 1: back two thousand years ago. So yes, you you you
- 11:56Speaker 1: you get a lot of surprises. But because of the
- 12:00Speaker 1: inspiration tied to the surprise, you are, you are invigorated,
- 12:06Speaker 1: a fresh you know, you know, interesting thing. I come
- 12:09Speaker 1: from Houston, Texas, like I said earlier, born in the
- 12:12Speaker 1: inner city, you know, a fifth ward, you know. And
- 12:15Speaker 1: so six sisters, two brothers. Father was a truck driver,
- 12:18Speaker 1: a third grade education. Mom graduated from high school. So
- 12:22Speaker 1: but we didn't. But they were very important in my
- 12:25Speaker 1: life because they made sure we stayed focused and uh
- 12:28Speaker 1: and also enable us to live the life that they
- 12:30Speaker 1: felt that we could if they if they if we
- 12:33Speaker 1: all did the right things. And in this and in
- 12:36Speaker 1: this visual sermon, I like to call it journey, the
- 12:39Speaker 1: journey with Jesus because it's so beautiful and it's and
- 12:42Speaker 1: you get to hear Dr Tony Evans preach, you get
- 12:44Speaker 1: to hear from his family, his amazing the children, and
- 12:48Speaker 1: see his wife. You know that is too Daddy, and
- 12:51Speaker 1: that's the nickname for your father in Baltimore. And it
- 12:55Speaker 1: talks about how early on things can be eight and
- 13:01Speaker 1: that shape can lead to a different paths. I would
- 13:04Speaker 1: say we live a fork in the rold, and everybody
- 13:06Speaker 1: lives in the fork. I always say that to myself,
- 13:08Speaker 1: that we all lives in the forking world left the
- 13:09Speaker 1: right because you can never just stay down in the middle.
- 13:11Speaker 1: You have to make a decision. And your father made
- 13:14Speaker 1: the decision for you. Talk about how that impacted you,
- 13:17Speaker 1: because it's discussed in Journey with Jesus, and I'm sure
- 13:21Speaker 1: it's relatable to a lot of people who would see
- 13:23Speaker 1: for the very first time. Well, yeah, my father came
- 13:27Speaker 1: to faith when he was about thirty years old, and
- 13:31Speaker 1: and that forever changed the trajectory of our home. He
- 13:36Speaker 1: brought he brought Jesus Christ and every element of our
- 13:39Speaker 1: family it, I mean, our family was turned inside out.
- 13:44Speaker 1: He transferred that faith to his children, to to my
- 13:47Speaker 1: mother first and then to his children. Right, we adopted
- 13:50Speaker 1: that faith as our own. That gave us a foundation
- 13:53Speaker 1: as a family that was fraying before then that was
- 13:56Speaker 1: now being solidified and becoming solid. And so now his grandchildren,
- 14:02Speaker 1: his great grandchildren, and now his great great grandchildren have
- 14:07Speaker 1: seen that faith transferred to them. And it shows our
- 14:09Speaker 1: one man who makes the right commitment as a legacy
- 14:14Speaker 1: that can last hundreds of years. And so we hope
- 14:17Speaker 1: to just keep that legacy rolling and going and uh.
- 14:21Speaker 1: And that's what we need, particularly from men today in
- 14:24Speaker 1: our culture, because too many families don't have a legacy
- 14:28Speaker 1: to bulled on, and that is because of the absenteeism
- 14:31Speaker 1: of too many fathers. So I have the privilege of
- 14:33Speaker 1: having a father grounded in faith and who was not
- 14:36Speaker 1: ashamed to transfer. We'll be right back with more money
- 14:38Speaker 1: making conversation with the founder and pastor of Oak Clip
- 14:41Speaker 1: Bible Fellowship, Dr Tony Evan. It's finally here the season
- 14:46Speaker 1: of celebration. And no matter how you celebrate with family
- 14:49Speaker 1: and friends, whether you're preparing for rays magos or Karamu
- 14:53Speaker 1: lighting the Manura, are going to midnight mass holes, has
- 14:56Speaker 1: just what you need to make those traditions special us
- 15:00Speaker 1: you'll find gifts for all your loved ones. Send warm
- 15:03Speaker 1: wishes with cozy fleeces, sweaters, loungeware, blankets and throws. Support
- 15:08Speaker 1: minority owned or founded brands by giving gifts from Human
- 15:11Speaker 1: Nation and shame moisture or treat them to everyone's favorite
- 15:15Speaker 1: activewear from top brands like Nike, Adidas, and under Armour.
- 15:19Speaker 1: And in the spirit of giving, Coals Cares is donating
- 15:22Speaker 1: eight million dollars to local nonprofits nationwide committed to the
- 15:26Speaker 1: health and well being of our communities. No matter how
- 15:29Speaker 1: you celebrate, when you shop at Coals, you're right where
- 15:32Speaker 1: you belong. So this season, give with all your heart
- 15:36Speaker 1: with great gifts from Coals or Coals dot Com. And
- 15:39Speaker 1: we're live here outside the Perez family home, just waiting
- 15:43Speaker 1: for the and there they go, almost on time. This morning.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Mom is coming off the front door, strong with a
- 15:49Speaker 1: double arm kid carry. Looks like dad has the bags.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Daughter is bringing up the rear. Oh but the diaper
- 15:55Speaker 1: bag wasn't closed. Diapers and toys are everywhere. Oh but
- 16:01Speaker 1: mom has just nailed the perfect car seat buckle for
- 16:04Speaker 1: the toddler. And now the eldest daughter who looks to
- 16:07Speaker 1: be about nine or ten, has secured herself in the
- 16:09Speaker 1: booster seat. Tad SIPs the bad clothes and they're off. Ah,
- 16:14Speaker 1: but looks like Mom doesn't realize her coffee cup is
- 16:16Speaker 1: still on the roof of the car, and there it goes. Oh,
- 16:21Speaker 1: that's a shame that mug was a fan favorite. Don't
- 16:24Speaker 1: sweat the small stuff, just nailed the big stuff, like
- 16:26Speaker 1: making sure your kids are buckled correctly in the right
- 16:28Speaker 1: seat for their agent's eyes. Learn more n h t

- 17:11Speaker 1: Welcome back to money making conversations. As I continue my
- 17:13Speaker 1: conversation with founder and pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship,
- 17:17Speaker 1: Dr Tony Evans, Let's let's talk about that legacy. You know,
- 17:21Speaker 1: because two of your children, you know, I've had the
- 17:24Speaker 1: privilege of interviewing your son, Anthony Evans Jr. Tremendous singer,
- 17:30Speaker 1: performed on the Voice. And Priscilla Shire, you know, she
- 17:33Speaker 1: was I interviewed when she was doing the movie The Overcomer.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Now you know, very good actress, great motivational speaker, and
- 17:41Speaker 1: it was it was funny because hey, Loupe Loupe like
- 17:49Speaker 1: love it. I love it. I love it and uh
- 17:52Speaker 1: and and and so the beauty of that because that
- 17:55Speaker 1: was an emotional moment because I saw the movie and
- 17:57Speaker 1: uh and roll in it and and I realized, you
- 18:00Speaker 1: guys move forward with as a family. But I want
- 18:03Speaker 1: to bring that up because relationships make people do things,
- 18:09Speaker 1: and it's a very significant matter my having a relationship,
- 18:12Speaker 1: whether it's interviewed or Anthony. We relate through food and
- 18:15Speaker 1: Loopy's Restaurant was our bond and and we laugh about it.
- 18:19Speaker 1: I brought it to you off, are you go, yes,
- 18:21Speaker 1: loupe loope, that's our place. That is what life is about,
- 18:25Speaker 1: bonding people together. That's what the ministry is about, bonding
- 18:29Speaker 1: people together and making things relatable. Is am I correct? Oh? Absolutely? Uh.
- 18:34Speaker 1: One of the goals of the of the of doing
- 18:36Speaker 1: the film was not only to connect us closer with
- 18:39Speaker 1: the Lord, but to connect us people closer with each other.
- 18:42Speaker 1: And family is the first place of connectivity. And so
- 18:46Speaker 1: families can have a shared faith, they can have a
- 18:48Speaker 1: shared anchor, and when that anchor is lost and the
- 18:53Speaker 1: frame starts, then the repercussions of a negative legacy begins
- 18:57Speaker 1: to take place rather than a positive legacy. So if
- 19:00Speaker 1: this film can be used to bring people strengthen their
- 19:03Speaker 1: faith but strength of their connectivity around their faith, then
- 19:06Speaker 1: becomes a double win all the way around. Absolutely absolutely,
- 19:10Speaker 1: And you know, you know for people who see its
- 19:13Speaker 1: own podcast and also played out on YouTube and visual.
- 19:16Speaker 1: You know, Priscilla came into the picture. You know, she
- 19:19Speaker 1: did the same thing and the documentary she walks on stage. No,
- 19:23Speaker 1: she has no business being on the stage. So she
- 19:25Speaker 1: used to just popping in and in and feed with
- 19:28Speaker 1: the float of everything so, but that makes all right,
- 19:32Speaker 1: Dr Tony, that's how she rolls right. Well, now she's
- 19:37Speaker 1: featured a lot from a start, almost like a co
- 19:40Speaker 1: host in some ways, Priscilla is in this process. Why
- 19:43Speaker 1: was that important to have her voice because it allowed
- 19:47Speaker 1: her to pull certain emotions, pull certain answers out of it,
- 19:51Speaker 1: especially the uh certain areas that you guys were speaking
- 19:55Speaker 1: talking about her role in this particular documentary, Journey with Jesus,
- 19:58Speaker 1: which was filmed in Israel. Well, her role was to
- 20:03Speaker 1: walk with me because we didn't want to have that
- 20:05Speaker 1: family connectivity. We wanted this not to be me, but
- 20:09Speaker 1: we wanted to show relationally. I mean, my late wife
- 20:13Speaker 1: was there. You know, Anthony did the music, So there
- 20:17Speaker 1: was a bonding that took place, and so we wanted
- 20:19Speaker 1: to show pieces of that as part of the documentary
- 20:23Speaker 1: so that people would see our faith is personal, but
- 20:26Speaker 1: it should be shared on a familial level. And so
- 20:31Speaker 1: uh so she likes to talk. No, no, you don't
- 20:35Speaker 1: like she got it from doc. I got it from
- 20:39Speaker 1: your doc. Come on, I got it from you. Apple
- 20:42Speaker 1: doesn't fall froll from the tree. What can we say,
- 20:44Speaker 1: alec I say, it's a beautiful thing. Now, this whole process,
- 20:48Speaker 1: and I just want to be um. I wanted to
- 20:50Speaker 1: have fun with this interview. I wanted to be how
- 20:53Speaker 1: it's gonna be an honest interviecause that's how you roll.
- 20:56Speaker 1: But more importantly, you get to see if the Bible
- 20:58Speaker 1: come to life. I am I saying that accurately about
- 21:03Speaker 1: this journey. The Bible is not just the word about God.
- 21:07Speaker 1: It is the voice of God in print. But whenever
- 21:10Speaker 1: the verbal can become visual sever you can see what
- 21:14Speaker 1: you're learning, it then establishes itself in your mind and
- 21:19Speaker 1: heart at a deeper level. So we wanted to help
- 21:22Speaker 1: the Bible to become alive in the experience of the
- 21:26Speaker 1: of the reader by giving them a visual to go
- 21:30Speaker 1: alongside with the verbal. I'm gonna ask you a question.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Maybe maybe it is. It's a thing about finding yourself,
- 21:39Speaker 1: you know, Like I always tell people are all my life,
- 21:41Speaker 1: Dr Tony EVAs, People always said I was special, I
- 21:44Speaker 1: was unique. I was and I really didn't understand what
- 21:47Speaker 1: they was talking about that And I always tell people
- 21:49Speaker 1: went into my authorities that I recepted, I accepted responsibilities
- 21:53Speaker 1: of being who I was. Sean McDonald. Things that would
- 21:56Speaker 1: happen if we wasn't luck. It was tied to hard work.
- 21:59Speaker 1: It was tied to you know, understanding to value my responsibilities.
- 22:04Speaker 1: I found out who I was and I started to
- 22:06Speaker 1: live my life. Can you answer this question, this is
- 22:09Speaker 1: the question that can't be answered. What do you think
- 22:11Speaker 1: Jesus realized he was Jesus? Well, you have to you
- 22:18Speaker 1: have the dynamic of what we call the theology the
- 22:20Speaker 1: hypostatic union, which is two natures in one person, unmixed forever.
- 22:26Speaker 1: So Jesus went through the natural growth. The Bible says
- 22:30Speaker 1: he grew in statue and grew in learning. So that
- 22:34Speaker 1: was the human growth of his humanity like any child
- 22:39Speaker 1: would have, but it was married to deity. So you
- 22:43Speaker 1: have two things always happening at the same time in
- 22:46Speaker 1: the life of Jesus. Natural humanity perfectly developing, while deity
- 22:53Speaker 1: is forever formed. So both are happening at the same time.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Because his nature is ever got mixed. They stayed distinct
- 23:03Speaker 1: but within the same person. Wow, and you're go Indeed, Well,
- 23:10Speaker 1: all I was saying is that when you go on
- 23:11Speaker 1: the journey with Jesus, this documentary, they're gonna be in
- 23:14Speaker 1: the theatre fifteen through seventeen They're gonna be a whole
- 23:17Speaker 1: lot of people walking at that theatery thinking deep sir,
- 23:20Speaker 1: because I'm obolt. You never tell you why, because you know,
- 23:24Speaker 1: I the popularity of my show is that I just
- 23:27Speaker 1: do real natural interviews. I have no agenda. I'm learning.
- 23:30Speaker 1: I asked questions. I think that everybody wants to ask
- 23:33Speaker 1: questions when they sit down and talk to you, just
- 23:35Speaker 1: like I said when when the Jesus realized he was Jesus.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Because it's through life, you know, we always try to
- 23:40Speaker 1: come to a point where we have to accept the
- 23:42Speaker 1: responsibility for what we who, what we are. And when
- 23:46Speaker 1: you talk about the Bible, you're talking about good news,
- 23:49Speaker 1: and then we talk about gospel, and then we talked
- 23:52Speaker 1: about good news. So what is good news and what
- 23:55Speaker 1: is gospel? Well, the good news for the one us.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Both Greek word is uh hugh on Gilian, which means
- 24:03Speaker 1: good news, and the gospel is good news against the
- 24:07Speaker 1: backdrop of bad news, the bad news. It seems to
- 24:10Speaker 1: appreciate the good news, you gotta understand the bad news.
- 24:13Speaker 1: The bad news is that sinful men are separated from
- 24:16Speaker 1: a holy God, and all mankind were sinful. At various
- 24:21Speaker 1: expressions of it, but we all have fallen short of
- 24:24Speaker 1: God's standard of perfection. That's the bad news. It's really
- 24:28Speaker 1: bad news because God can't accept imperfection in his presence.
- 24:32Speaker 1: So that makes the good news awesome news because God
- 24:37Speaker 1: has come up with a way to grant us a
- 24:40Speaker 1: credit report of perfection. What happens when the person comes
- 24:44Speaker 1: to Christ, they get to piggyback on Jesus's credit report
- 24:48Speaker 1: and says, Jesus's credit report is perfect credit. When you
- 24:52Speaker 1: accept Jesus, you get a perfect credit score, even though
- 24:55Speaker 1: you and I are imperfect, because God allows the righteousness
- 24:58Speaker 1: of Christ to betray for to us. And that makes
- 25:02Speaker 1: good news awesome news for all who willing to respond
- 25:05Speaker 1: to Well, you know, the beauty of family. And I
- 25:09Speaker 1: was bringing this up because, uh, you know, Atlanta have
- 25:11Speaker 1: a business and I have a I have one daughter.
- 25:13Speaker 1: She goes to the University of Houston and she was
- 25:16Speaker 1: interning this summer and I was every day she walked
- 25:21Speaker 1: in and we went home where I was happy. I
- 25:23Speaker 1: was proud because she was. You know, you want to
- 25:26Speaker 1: create legacies. You want to want to your children to
- 25:28Speaker 1: live the life and respect the things that you're doing,
- 25:31Speaker 1: to have your children work on this project. Just just
- 25:35Speaker 1: slow it down and just talk about how that reacted
- 25:39Speaker 1: to you now that your wife and their mother's gone,
- 25:43Speaker 1: and how it was important that they was they were
- 25:46Speaker 1: a part of We talked about Priscilla being the co
- 25:48Speaker 1: host and Anthony he's doing the music, but the fact
- 25:52Speaker 1: that they were there were important on this journey. Talk
- 25:54Speaker 1: about well, you know, family is a big deal. It's
- 25:57Speaker 1: a big deal in the Bible, it's a big deal
- 25:59Speaker 1: and in history, and it's a big deal for culture. Uh.
- 26:03Speaker 1: You know, whoever owns the family owns the future. The
- 26:06Speaker 1: saga of a nation is the saga of its family's
- 26:08Speaker 1: written large. You break down the family, you destroyed the society.
- 26:13Speaker 1: So the fact that we could do this as a
- 26:15Speaker 1: family allowed us to understore visually how critical family is
- 26:21Speaker 1: to the legacy of faith. We didn't just want to
- 26:25Speaker 1: preach it and say it. We wanted people to see it.
- 26:27Speaker 1: So it's very critical. Well, you know, Jesus walked on water.
- 26:31Speaker 1: You were preaching on water. Uh. You you were preaching
- 26:34Speaker 1: on and uh and just being creative. The whole process
- 26:41Speaker 1: of being able to pull that together. You know, you
- 26:44Speaker 1: guys are producers. You have uh, people out there just
- 26:48Speaker 1: to make sure everybody got that experience, because, like you said,
- 26:51Speaker 1: it was seven hundred eight hundred people who came on
- 26:53Speaker 1: this journey with you guys, and you got to do
- 26:56Speaker 1: uh sermons and certain very historical locations and things like that.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Talk about that experience, and we're talking with Dr Tony Evans.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Journey with Jesus is documentary and over the fifteenth to
- 27:07Speaker 1: the seventeen it will being selected theaters. But more importantly,
- 27:11Speaker 1: as I asked these questions with him, I moved by
- 27:14Speaker 1: the fact that the movie moved me and it allowed
- 27:18Speaker 1: me to see things I had never seen in my life.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Dr Tony Evans. It allowed me to slow down and
- 27:24Speaker 1: appreciate my life. Dr Tony Evans. And more importantly, God,
- 27:29Speaker 1: you share some good news with me. Well, the good news,
- 27:32Speaker 1: the good news of Jesus Christ is hope you sir,
- 27:37Speaker 1: open time and hope for eternity. That's that's twice, you know,
- 27:43Speaker 1: and we understand the hope that comes in Christ in
- 27:46Speaker 1: spite of the realities of circumstances. And when you're able
- 27:49Speaker 1: to experience that yourself and then bring your loved ones
- 27:52Speaker 1: into that, then it creates a whole new perspective of
- 27:56Speaker 1: how you move in the future, and so much confusion today,
- 27:59Speaker 1: some many pandemics today, so much conflict today. People need
- 28:03Speaker 1: to see some hope. And so it is I hope
- 28:06Speaker 1: that the Journey with Jesus will give people a sense
- 28:10Speaker 1: that all is not lost in spite of how bad
- 28:12Speaker 1: things look, because what comes with Jesus is a whole
- 28:15Speaker 1: bunch basket full. Oh well, you know, first of all,
- 28:19Speaker 1: let everybody, this is not a a touristy movie. Uh.
- 28:24Speaker 1: This is uh, this is a journey, and that's a
- 28:27Speaker 1: that's different terminology. And but one thing that I always
- 28:31Speaker 1: know that I mean when I went to South Africa,
- 28:33Speaker 1: because you always have these images of black people, even
- 28:37Speaker 1: black people, skinny black people, flies, just just just a
- 28:40Speaker 1: darkness that sits over Africa. And so when you see
- 28:43Speaker 1: on TV look at it Israel, you think about the
- 28:46Speaker 1: bombings and and danger and talk about that experience. Because
- 28:50Speaker 1: I felt a sense of calm and your journey. I
- 28:53Speaker 1: didn't fear any I didn't sense any fear on uncertainty.
- 28:58Speaker 1: But that's what we get on TV. Absolutely well, you know,
- 29:02Speaker 1: that's what makes news, you know, the all the negative stuff,
- 29:06Speaker 1: and there's reality to a lot of the negative stuff.
- 29:09Speaker 1: But that's see, that's the beauty that when we journeyed
- 29:12Speaker 1: with Jesus, we journeyed in peace. Yes, even in a
- 29:16Speaker 1: country where there is conflict and and uh and and
- 29:21Speaker 1: and people coming at each other, we were in a
- 29:24Speaker 1: place of peace. So that's what Jesus says. He says, Uh,
- 29:28Speaker 1: in me, you in the world, you're gonna have tribulation.
- 29:31Speaker 1: In me, you will have peace because I've overcome the world.
- 29:35Speaker 1: That's what the Journey of Jesus gives you, a whole
- 29:37Speaker 1: bunch of peace. His new documentary explores the ministry of
- 29:41Speaker 1: Christ is called Journey with Jesus, shot on location in Israel.
- 29:46Speaker 1: A special phantom event is released in theaters November fifteen
- 29:50Speaker 1: through the seventeen. Dr Tony Evans as always, I enjoyed
- 29:53Speaker 1: my conversation with your son Anthony and Priscilla. You know,
- 29:56Speaker 1: I love her, And maybe one day we all gonna
- 29:59Speaker 1: beat up and Lupi's tortilla and share the free tacos
- 30:03Speaker 1: and all that good stuff because I love the family. Man. Well,
- 30:06Speaker 1: I appreciate that, and I just want to encourage folks,
