- 0:02Speaker 1: Y'all know what time of y'all don't know, y'all back
- 0:09Speaker 1: a suit on, looking back to back down, giving them
- 0:15Speaker 1: like American buck things. And it's not doing me true
- 0:20Speaker 1: good at Steve Hary listening to the movie Together for Steve, Please, Moby,
- 0:38Speaker 1: I don't join join me. You're doing me. You gotta
- 0:59Speaker 1: use that turning. You gotta turn to turn them out. Turn,
- 1:43Speaker 1: got to turn them out. Then turn the water the water.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Come come on your baby daddy. Uh huh, I sure will.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Good morning everybody. You are listening to the voice, Come
- 2:07Speaker 1: on dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey Man
- 2:11Speaker 1: got a radio show, Boil Boiled boy. I can't even
- 2:16Speaker 1: tell you, man, um, I've been doing some thinking and
- 2:22Speaker 1: you know, just coming off vacation, I was really had
- 2:26Speaker 1: some time to sit down and and you know, just
- 2:29Speaker 1: recharge myself and and just think about a lot of things,
- 2:33Speaker 1: and and and really spend some time with my wife
- 2:36Speaker 1: and her and I, you know, just recommitted ourselves and
- 2:41Speaker 1: and and just went over a lot of things. Just
- 2:44Speaker 1: had a lot of long talks. You know. Communication is
- 2:48Speaker 1: the key, you know, and I'm a guy and I
- 2:51Speaker 1: suffer with that, as do a lot of guys. I
- 2:54Speaker 1: think a lot of women say that they have a
- 2:57Speaker 1: communication problem with their men. I'm a different you know.
- 3:01Speaker 1: I can write a book all day, but I still
- 3:04Speaker 1: I am a man. I'm wired a certain way. It's
- 3:08Speaker 1: not making excuses, it's just it's certain things that we
- 3:11Speaker 1: have to pay attention to, especially when it comes to women,
- 3:14Speaker 1: because of the way we're wired. And we were just
- 3:16Speaker 1: sitting out there talking and having some conversations, and one
- 3:21Speaker 1: of the things that I wanted to mention today to
- 3:23Speaker 1: you as one of the principles of success being grateful
- 3:30Speaker 1: at all times. It's difficult to do. Being grateful at
- 3:38Speaker 1: all times. It's very difficult to do. I find that
- 3:43Speaker 1: to be true with myself. Now there are others that
- 3:46Speaker 1: might be able to do it, but just just from
- 3:49Speaker 1: talking and listening and living and learning, being grateful at
- 3:54Speaker 1: all times it's difficult to do, but it's necessary because
- 4:00Speaker 1: it's it's such an act of faith in knowing that
- 4:05Speaker 1: no matter what's going on, it's going to be all right.
- 4:09Speaker 1: And it's hard to see that when things are not
- 4:13Speaker 1: going in your favor, when things have turned so dramatically
- 4:19Speaker 1: the other way, and it seems as though you're the
- 4:22Speaker 1: only one in the situation where you're involved with other people,
- 4:26Speaker 1: or someone got an accusation against you falsely, or somebody
- 4:30Speaker 1: trying to do something to you unjustifiably, whatever the case
- 4:33Speaker 1: may be. When it's happening to you, it does appear
- 4:38Speaker 1: to you that, oh, my goodness, man, this is horribly
- 4:43Speaker 1: one sided. So it is difficult. It's hard to do
- 4:48Speaker 1: to be grateful at all times, but it's so necessary,
- 4:52Speaker 1: and I just I just want to point out a
- 4:54Speaker 1: couple of things to you. First of all, the difficulty
- 4:58Speaker 1: in being grateful in hard times is that number one,
- 5:04Speaker 1: the present circumstances. Oftentimes it's just so pressing and so
- 5:09Speaker 1: overwhelming that a lot of your energy is devoted to
- 5:13Speaker 1: trying to come up with the solution for that, or
- 5:16Speaker 1: trying to muster the strength to whether the storm, or
- 5:20Speaker 1: trying to just brace yourself to try to get through it,
- 5:23Speaker 1: and in doing that, you don't It's hard to be grateful.
- 5:28Speaker 1: It's hard to be grateful in pain, and I know
- 5:32Speaker 1: it is. But here is the trick for me. This
- 5:37Speaker 1: is what I've had to learn how to do, and
- 5:40Speaker 1: I guess it takes practice to get here. It's not
- 5:43Speaker 1: nothing you can just start doing right away. You got
- 5:46Speaker 1: to practice it in small increments to really get it.
- 5:49Speaker 1: What I've always had to say to myself and what
- 5:51Speaker 1: I've learned to say to myself, is this is happening
- 5:55Speaker 1: to me because God is working me through something. This
- 6:01Speaker 1: is happening to me because there's some form of tests
- 6:04Speaker 1: that I have to pass in order to graduate to
- 6:07Speaker 1: the next grade, and that in order to be allowed
- 6:10Speaker 1: to move to the next level. This is happening to
- 6:14Speaker 1: me because there's something I need to purge my life,
- 6:19Speaker 1: of my body, of my spirit, of something's purging in me.
- 6:24Speaker 1: And when you purge something, it's it's painful. You know,
- 6:28Speaker 1: it's like a person getting off drugs. The withdrawal is agonizing.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I've been told in every documentary I've ever watched it
- 6:37Speaker 1: it's an agonizing process to go cold turkey, to withdraw,
- 6:42Speaker 1: to pull away after you've been doing something so long.
- 6:46Speaker 1: And so I know that this process is tough when
- 6:52Speaker 1: you're going through some pain. But when you're purging your system,
- 6:57Speaker 1: when you're you're when you're having to pass a test,
- 7:00Speaker 1: when you're about to make when you're being made ready
- 7:05Speaker 1: for the next level, that moment right in there in
- 7:09Speaker 1: realizing that that's what's happening, that's where you find the gratitude.
- 7:13Speaker 1: That's where I found the gratitude. I hope I'm explaining
- 7:17Speaker 1: this correctly. I'm gonna keep trying until I get it,
- 7:20Speaker 1: But that's where you find the gratitude. The second part
- 7:25Speaker 1: of it is is that God has never left me
- 7:31Speaker 1: in all the things I've done, in all the mistakes
- 7:34Speaker 1: I've made, all the lies I've told, all the situations
- 7:39Speaker 1: I've gotten myself into from being greedy and wanting too
- 7:43Speaker 1: much for me at the expense sometimes of other people,
- 7:52Speaker 1: not doing it deliberately or in a vindictive way, because
- 7:56Speaker 1: I've never had that spirit. I'm not a vindictive or
- 8:00Speaker 1: mean person, but sometimes in my life, in wanting to
- 8:05Speaker 1: do what I wanted to do, I didn't totally weigh
- 8:08Speaker 1: out the cause and effect of the other person. I mean,
- 8:12Speaker 1: can't just be real with you with that. I mean,
- 8:15Speaker 1: how many times we hadn't all done that? Look, it
- 8:17Speaker 1: doesn't don't make you a bad person, you know, good
- 8:21Speaker 1: people do bad things all the time. I just happen
- 8:24Speaker 1: to have come to the realization that unknowingly and and
- 8:30Speaker 1: not and not with malice intent towards a person. I've
- 8:36Speaker 1: heard people looking at something I wanted to do without
- 8:41Speaker 1: really looking at what the cause and effect would be
- 8:45Speaker 1: on the other person. So in doing some of these things,
- 8:49Speaker 1: I've created situations for myself. But God, through his grace
- 8:54Speaker 1: and mercy, has allowed me to even get beyond that.
- 8:58Speaker 1: So what I'm saying that God has never left me
- 9:01Speaker 1: in spite of myself. He's always gotten me through. So
- 9:05Speaker 1: that's the other part of it too. See that no
- 9:08Speaker 1: matter what you're going through, you've got to understand that
- 9:11Speaker 1: God has always gotten you through it, now, hasn't it.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Now that may not be the way you want it
- 9:16Speaker 1: or the way you liked, but guess what, you can't
- 9:19Speaker 1: do wrong and not pay for that. Now that that's
- 9:21Speaker 1: not how this works, That's never going to be the case.
- 9:25Speaker 1: But the great thing about God is he fires warning
- 9:27Speaker 1: shots at us all the time. He gives us an
- 9:30Speaker 1: opportunity to stop. You know, He don't fully punish us
- 9:34Speaker 1: right away every time we do something wrong. Now does it?
- 9:37Speaker 1: You know eventually you're going to get caught doing whatever
- 9:40Speaker 1: it is you're doing. You do understand that, don't you.
- 9:44Speaker 1: But the first time that close call, that was a
- 9:47Speaker 1: warning shot for you to stop. Look, I know you're
- 9:50Speaker 1: not perfect. I know we all sent us down here,
- 9:52Speaker 1: so I know you're gonna make mistakes. One time, I
- 9:55Speaker 1: know you was looking at her when you wasn't supposed to.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I know you said something to him when you wasn't
- 9:59Speaker 1: supposed I know you got with her when you know
- 10:02Speaker 1: you wasn't supposed to. And I know you got with
- 10:05Speaker 1: him when you know you wasn't supposed to. So I'll
- 10:07Speaker 1: tell you what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna fire warning
- 10:09Speaker 1: shot and maybe you'll slow your roll this time. But
- 10:12Speaker 1: we keep on though. See see see that's what happens.
- 10:15Speaker 1: See we just keep on and then the next thing,
- 10:18Speaker 1: you know, we get caught. Now, Old Lord, have mercy,
- 10:21Speaker 1: I won't out of this. Yeah, well see you didn't
- 10:24Speaker 1: dug this hole pretty deep, and he gonna get you out.
- 10:27Speaker 1: But there's some things that's got to go down now
- 10:30Speaker 1: because you didn't pay attention to the warning shot. See,
- 10:32Speaker 1: had you stopped the first time, you felt bad about
- 10:35Speaker 1: it and said you wasn't gonna do it no more,
- 10:37Speaker 1: the situation wouldn't be as critical. But because we don't stop,
- 10:41Speaker 1: and we go again. But God always for gives He
- 10:46Speaker 1: always allows us to get back up again. He always
- 10:50Speaker 1: gives us mercy, He always gives us his grace. He
- 10:55Speaker 1: always does that. You're listening all right, everybody. You have
- 11:03Speaker 1: just done the right thing. What you've done is started
- 11:06Speaker 1: your day off with the Steve Harding Morning Show. I

- 18:26Speaker 1: will not get into the boat. Well, you want to
- 18:28Speaker 1: get a boat with a hole in it anyway, because
- 18:31Speaker 1: I want to see if the flex tape works. How

- 28:15Speaker 1: Not the love. I don't know what you think. You
- 28:18Speaker 1: are as wrong as you know what it's gotta be.
- 28:21Speaker 1: I got one more thing I need to say, and
- 28:23Speaker 1: then me and Crystal just gonna come over there and
- 28:26Speaker 1: dry down there and tell you exactly what's going on
- 28:28Speaker 1: in our life right now. You got to say to me,
- 28:32Speaker 1: are you listening to me? You got to say to me,
- 28:35Speaker 1: I got to say this. This is nephew Tommy from
- 28:39Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You just got pranked by
- 28:43Speaker 1: your daughter, Crystal and her boyfriend. Ain't I'm outside my job.

- 29:03Speaker 1: baby girl just wanted to put a smile on your face. Man,
- 29:06Speaker 1: I gotta ask you, what is what is the baddest
- 29:10Speaker 1: and I mean the baddest radio show in the land
- 29:13Speaker 1: and the sea. Harvey Morning Shuff Me and your baby
- 29:21Speaker 1: getting married? Sound like the baby daddy gonna fight after
- 29:27Speaker 1: this win Here it is Columbus, Georgia at the Civic Center.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Is going down on D Center the twenty eight and
- 29:36Speaker 1: then on the twenty ninth Washington d C at Dark
- 29:41Speaker 1: Constitution Hall. That is two shows. New Year's Eve in
- 29:45Speaker 1: Houston D Center thirty First, y'all, it is Smart Financial Center.
- 29:50Speaker 1: That's the last four of the year. The Nephew on
- 29:53Speaker 1: the Run Nice Coming up at the top of the hour,
- 29:59Speaker 1: Entertainment News and Time Magazine's Person of the Year, Kathie
- 30:02Speaker 1: Lee Gifford leaving. We'll talk about it right after this.
- 30:06Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Coming up
- 30:11Speaker 1: at twenty minutes after the hour, We're going to debate
- 30:14Speaker 1: who is really the King of R and B. That's right.
- 30:19Speaker 1: But first in today's entertainment Day, Bobby, I love you.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Time Magazine has chosen a group of people it's calling
- 30:26Speaker 1: the Guardians as the twenty eighteen Person of the Year
- 30:31Speaker 1: Times cover, which features a group of four individuals and
- 30:34Speaker 1: one group who have taken risks in pursuit of the truth.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Among them include murder Saudi journalist Jamad Jamal Kashogi, the
- 30:42Speaker 1: Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland, which was the scene of
- 30:46Speaker 1: a mass shooting in June which left five journalists dead.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Remember that now if you're wondering. Mister Donald Trump, who
- 30:53Speaker 1: was named the twenty sixteen Person of the Year, remember
- 30:56Speaker 1: that was this year's first runner up. Special counsel Robert
- 31:00Speaker 1: Muller came in third. Okay, okay, wow. So I thought
- 31:05Speaker 1: that was kind of cool time they honoring journalists, people
- 31:08Speaker 1: who were seeking the truth and all of them who
- 31:11Speaker 1: they lost their lives, journalists from all over the world too.
- 31:15Speaker 1: So I know who won't win that award for telling
- 31:18Speaker 1: the truth? You're right? Yeah, yeah, fast, that was pretty big. Yeah,
- 31:24Speaker 1: didn't Sports Illustrated name Person of the Year the Golden
- 31:28Speaker 1: State Warriors. I think they had the whole team. Yeah,
- 31:33Speaker 1: they n it was Person of the Year. That was funny, yeah,
- 31:36Speaker 1: all right. And other entertainment news Kathy Lee Gifford her
- 31:40Speaker 1: fans are a little sadder today because she announced that
- 31:43Speaker 1: she is leaving the Today Show. She's been a long
- 31:46Speaker 1: time personality on TV. She has co anchored the fourth
- 31:50Speaker 1: hour of The Today Show with Hoda Kathy for more
- 31:52Speaker 1: than ten years. She said that yesterday morning that she'll
- 31:56Speaker 1: leave on April seventh, which is the show's eleventh anniversary. Now,
- 32:00Speaker 1: originally she was only supposed to do a year, just
- 32:02Speaker 1: one year. She said she fell in love with Hoda Kotb.
- 32:06Speaker 1: She fell in love with her, So eleven years later,
- 32:09Speaker 1: you know, here they are. She says she wants to
- 32:11Speaker 1: do more acting. Yeah, really good. Yeah, but you know
- 32:16Speaker 1: she wants to do more acting and things like that.
- 32:18Speaker 1: So you know, she's bowing out at their eleventh year anniversary.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Someone was like, why don't she just go in to
- 32:24Speaker 1: make a twelve? You know, yeah, sometimes when you're done ten,
- 32:30Speaker 1: you can't do that eleven. That one. Okay, that's what
- 32:35Speaker 1: you heard. It reads a lot right, well, and they
- 32:41Speaker 1: say Hoda's going to continue to do that hour, but
- 32:44Speaker 1: they have not named from now going to be because
- 32:47Speaker 1: I was wondering if they would just replace both of them,
- 32:50Speaker 1: because holda, now she's the anchor of the Today's Show. Yeah,
- 32:53Speaker 1: one of the works a Yeah, she worked a whole lot.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Can always go to Vegas and makes some any singing it. Yeah,
- 33:01Speaker 1: she can sing, you know, she can act. She's very talented.
- 33:04Speaker 1: So that's what she wants to do more of. So
- 33:06Speaker 1: congratulations to her. Yeah, eleven years, that's a lot of time.
- 33:09Speaker 1: I was on their show when I was doing my book. Yeah.
- 33:13Speaker 1: They were nice, Yeah they were. They were so nice
- 33:17Speaker 1: white women, I know, Yeah they were anyway, Jay, But
- 33:21Speaker 1: you're writing, they're they're so sweet and kind. They were.
- 33:24Speaker 1: They treated me so beautifully, they were. They were like, oh,
- 33:27Speaker 1: you're nervous a little bit, no problem, have a glass
- 33:29Speaker 1: of wine where you'll be fine. They're so funny they do,
- 33:35Speaker 1: you know they do woman Seal of Approval. Check out
- 33:40Speaker 1: more at Steve HARVEYFM dot com and our special our
- 33:44Speaker 1: social media pages. But yeah, she will be missed for sure.
- 33:47Speaker 1: And now the search begins for someone to replace her,
- 33:50Speaker 1: just like the president. You know, he's searching for a
- 33:52Speaker 1: new chief of staff. No bad missing chest to have
- 34:00Speaker 1: the cleaning lady ain't over that dos in the kitchen,
- 34:04Speaker 1: you know what I mean. People ain't at that house
- 34:06Speaker 1: ague with me. Y'all, no bad man, quick, it's time
- 34:12Speaker 1: Jay for the headlines. I read everybody in the headliness
- 34:17Speaker 1: and trip y'all. While threatening to allow for a federal
- 34:22Speaker 1: government shut down, the president insisted on getting five billion
- 34:25Speaker 1: with a beat dollars and that's the amount he wants
- 34:28Speaker 1: for his campaign promised border wall. I don't mind having
- 34:31Speaker 1: the issue of border security on my side if we
- 34:34Speaker 1: have to close down the country over border security. I
- 34:37Speaker 1: actually like that in terms of an issue, but I
- 34:40Speaker 1: don't want it to be an issue. I wanted to
- 34:41Speaker 1: be something that the country needs. Is not really an issue,
- 34:44Speaker 1: it's something the country needs. Yeah. However, expected House Speaker
- 34:47Speaker 1: Nancy Pelosian sent him with NARTI leader Chuck Schuma stood
- 34:50Speaker 1: there ground. Schuma says the president can't always have his way.
- 34:52Speaker 1: This Trump shut down, this temper tantrum that he seems
- 34:56Speaker 1: to throw will not get him his wall, and it'll
- 35:00Speaker 1: heard a lot of people because he will cause a shutdown.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Schumer says that less than six percent, less than six
- 35:06Speaker 1: percent of the one point three billion dollars already authorized
- 35:09Speaker 1: for the board of Wall has been spent. Lawmakers have
- 35:12Speaker 1: only ten days to reach a budget agreement, and avoid
- 35:14Speaker 1: a partial government shut down just before the Christmas holiday.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Former Trump lawyer some say bagman Michael Cohen gets sentenced
- 35:20Speaker 1: today for lying to the Congress. Cohen played guilty to
- 35:23Speaker 1: tax evasion and campaign finance violations. Prosecutors are hoping for
- 35:27Speaker 1: some substantial time behind bars. Cohen, of course, hoping for none.
- 35:31Speaker 1: US sent a committee get this one. The US sent
- 35:33Speaker 1: a committee on Indian Affairs a schedule a hold of
- 35:35Speaker 1: hearing today on the high disappearance and murder rate for
- 35:38Speaker 1: American Indian women. According to federal statistics, there were almost
- 35:42Speaker 1: six thousand, six thousand open cases of missing Native American
- 35:46Speaker 1: women on the books in twenty sixteen. Authorisay some communities
- 35:49Speaker 1: Indian women face murder rates that are more than ten
- 35:52Speaker 1: times the national average, and that there are two and
- 35:54Speaker 1: a half times more likely than other women to be
- 35:56Speaker 1: victims of rape, sexual assault, and violent crimes. For instance,
- 36:00Speaker 1: the white upstairs neighbors of one Native woman in North
- 36:02Speaker 1: Dakota recently cut the fetus from her womb, wrapped her
- 36:05Speaker 1: in plastic bags, and threw her body in a river
- 36:09Speaker 1: for no reason. Jurors in Virginia say the white man
- 36:12Speaker 1: who drove his car into a crowd of anti racism protests,
- 36:14Speaker 1: killing one young woman and injuring several others. Should spend
- 36:17Speaker 1: the rest of his life in prison. Jury in Charlottesville
- 36:20Speaker 1: yesterday recommended life plus four hundred and nineteen years. But
- 36:24Speaker 1: James Alex feels his lawyer claims feels fear for his
- 36:28Speaker 1: life and rammed into the crowd and self defends all
- 36:30Speaker 1: the panel and by that feels is to be sentenced.
- 36:32Speaker 1: In March, Time magazine has elected four journalists and a
- 36:36Speaker 1: newspaper as their Person of the Year. They're calling the reporters,
- 36:39Speaker 1: the Guardians, and the War on Truth, and the group
- 36:42Speaker 1: includes a murdered Washington Post columnist Hamal Choji. President Trump
- 36:47Speaker 1: was the warner up, by the way, in the third place,
- 36:49Speaker 1: special Prosecutor Robert Mueller. Finally, today is National Dingling Day.
- 37:00Speaker 1: To the Steve Harvey Morning Show you're listening to. All right, well, everyone,
- 37:06Speaker 1: this is a big debate on social media. They've been
- 37:09Speaker 1: debating on the topic of who is the king of
- 37:11Speaker 1: R and b uh and uh. Georgia singer songwriter Jack
- 37:15Speaker 1: Quez launched on social media and declared himself the king
- 37:19Speaker 1: of R and B for this generation. He says this generation.
- 37:25Speaker 1: He said, I know all about the past and all
- 37:28Speaker 1: of that, you know, R and B, U, R Kelly
- 37:31Speaker 1: and Bobby Brown and all of that, But right now, honestly,
- 37:36Speaker 1: I don't think there is a king of R and
- 37:37Speaker 1: B right now, if it's not me. But John Legend
- 37:40Speaker 1: had something interesting to say. He said that, uh, maybe
- 37:44Speaker 1: not right now. There's not a king of R and B.
- 37:46Speaker 1: He said, anyone consistently dominating the charts, selling out Arenas, etc.
- 37:50Speaker 1: Allah Usher back in his prime, but um, not a
- 37:53Speaker 1: comment on quality. He said, I think the throne is
- 37:56Speaker 1: open right now. Part of me is is talking myself
- 37:59Speaker 1: into know or weekend or the weekend. But he said, um,
- 38:03Speaker 1: he's not sure they fit really neatly into that genre
- 38:06Speaker 1: because just sit in the chair if this is nobody,
- 38:10Speaker 1: but that is true because they cruss over into pop
- 38:12Speaker 1: and everything. Then me going, I'm I'm king R beating
- 38:16Speaker 1: at nobody else what I'm saying. So wait, let me
- 38:19Speaker 1: ask so Jay and in Junior, you guys are saying
- 38:22Speaker 1: you gotta earn it right, absolutely, but I just can't
- 38:25Speaker 1: say it right. You ain't. You ain't doing that. Nobody
- 38:28Speaker 1: will be to king R and beating. Well, yeah, we
- 38:31Speaker 1: can just you can just claim something that I'm the
- 38:33Speaker 1: king of fish Sandwich and anybody claim that? Ye yeah,
- 38:38Speaker 1: I have a MOHI moh he please light on the charge.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Saw Thank you very much, sir, the King of I
- 38:44Speaker 1: VS Ain't nobody had more than me. But to Jack
- 38:49Speaker 1: Que's credit four two seven five is it is one
- 38:52Speaker 1: of the best R and B albums of a year.
- 38:54Speaker 1: So there you go. So yeah, so he declared himself
- 38:57Speaker 1: king of R and B? Has anyone nobody got that one?
- 39:01Speaker 1: Give me that I got that? Has anyone spoken to
- 39:04Speaker 1: Bobby Brown, Bobby anybody but anybody talked about that? That's safe.
- 39:12Speaker 1: But that goes back to right now. Yeah, yeah, he's
- 39:16Speaker 1: talking about this generation. So yeah, you know, we we
- 39:19Speaker 1: can go back and forth and debate about it. Of course,
- 39:22Speaker 1: we have to talk about the greats, you know, Luke Maxwell,
- 39:25Speaker 1: Stevie Wonder. I mean, yeah, we can go on. What
- 39:29Speaker 1: about Chris Brown? Chris Brown? Yea, and Chris Brown is
- 39:32Speaker 1: I would think this generation absolutely Yeah, I agree with
- 39:36Speaker 1: you on that. Yeah Chris Brown, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 39:43Speaker 1: come on, he is he is? Yeah, all right, what's
- 39:48Speaker 1: what's his name, Jack Queens? How you say his name? Yeah?
- 39:50Speaker 1: You can go to Steve Harvey FM on social media
- 39:53Speaker 1: and coming up at thirty four after we'll debate this
- 39:55Speaker 1: a little more. Who is the true king of R
- 39:58Speaker 1: and B? Right after this you're listening Steve Morning Show,
- 40:05Speaker 1: time for us to continue the debate. Who deserves the
- 40:08Speaker 1: crown king of R and B? Well, thank you, And
- 40:11Speaker 1: I asked a question. Now there is a king of
- 40:14Speaker 1: R and B and then there's a king of R
- 40:16Speaker 1: and B. So those are two different categories. Is your
- 40:19Speaker 1: kang the king? Who is your king? Kang? Is Chris
- 40:23Speaker 1: Brown right now for this generation? King for this generation,
- 40:29Speaker 1: That's what I mean. Now, who is back in the day?
- 40:34Speaker 1: It's gotten for me, Come on, I work for him.
- 40:36Speaker 1: It's Luther van Drop. Yeah, one of the great the legends. Okay,
- 40:41Speaker 1: leave Teddy, you can't leave Teddy. I mean he was before,
- 40:44Speaker 1: back in the day. Yeah, back, come on, al Green
- 40:49Speaker 1: come on now, yeah, yeah, yeah, you gotta we're talking
- 40:53Speaker 1: back in the day now. Yeah, we're going back. Yeah,
- 40:56Speaker 1: Alvin B King too, Yeah, and BB King Yeah all
- 41:04Speaker 1: this dude I saw down this club one time. I
- 41:09Speaker 1: mean you couldn't tell him he wasn't I can say
- 41:12Speaker 1: that much. All that he had on when he walked out,
- 41:16Speaker 1: the boots had a curve and him so deep. God,
- 41:20Speaker 1: who is that is this album? Well, this brother got
- 41:24Speaker 1: to be the king then I'm gonna say this right now.
- 41:29Speaker 1: You can't. Even though he was cool, he was greatness
- 41:32Speaker 1: back in the day, but he's still relevant today. Charlie
- 41:35Speaker 1: Wilson The Legends. Yes, yeah, yeah, definitely one of the
- 41:40Speaker 1: great I mean, and then you can look at the nineties,
- 41:42Speaker 1: you know, like I said last break, you can look
- 41:44Speaker 1: at Maxwell, you can look at D'Angelo, you know, yeah, say,
- 41:48Speaker 1: I mean Usher, you know, for sure, for sus for sure. Yeah,
- 41:54Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm trying to. I mean, we don't
- 41:57Speaker 1: give you what a requirements? What are the requirements? Well,
- 42:00Speaker 1: I'm sure I'm saying, you know, a saying you gotta
- 42:02Speaker 1: have some hits, and you gotta have some hits. You
- 42:04Speaker 1: gotta you have to sell a lot of present and
- 42:08Speaker 1: a few awards would help out too. Yeah, somebody like
- 42:12Speaker 1: like what's his name that sells out in New Orleans.
- 42:15Speaker 1: You should do New Orleans only. Frankie beverly Man. Yeah,
- 42:21Speaker 1: that's a group. That's a group. Yeah, that's a group. Yeah,
- 42:24Speaker 1: that's a group. I think he feature solo artists. Solo artists.
- 42:29Speaker 1: I think, you know, we always laugh about when Witney
- 42:33Speaker 1: Houston said that about Bobby Brown, but I agree with
- 42:36Speaker 1: her because he was one of the original ones that
- 42:38Speaker 1: started all that style like genuine and usher and everybody
- 42:42Speaker 1: started to have in the late eighties and the nineties.
- 42:45Speaker 1: So you know, you have to put Bobby Brown up
- 42:48Speaker 1: there with one of the with as one of the greats.
- 42:51Speaker 1: You know, Bobby Brown is up there in my book Bobby.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Bobby looks at his old videos and go, damn, I
- 42:56Speaker 1: did that. That was my prerogative. He's a bad boy,
- 43:01Speaker 1: that boy man, Come on, man, But you know you
- 43:07Speaker 1: got out of these news Daniel Daniel Glover. What's his name,
- 43:11Speaker 1: Danny Glover, Jay, not Danny Glover, you know, Rudge Donald Glover. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 43:22Speaker 1: he's a bad boy. Um what is his RMB name?
- 43:25Speaker 1: Childish Gambino, Childish. But there are and there are a
- 43:29Speaker 1: lot of newcomers out there too. Anderson Pack, I mean
- 43:32Speaker 1: there are a lot Love Duval dropping hit about three
- 43:37Speaker 1: or four more hits. He's gonna be a rock star, baby.
- 43:44Speaker 1: I'll say. We didn't mention Neo. Yeah, y'all know I'm
- 43:49Speaker 1: a Anthony Hamilton's you gotta go. Keith sweat I love
- 43:56Speaker 1: Keith sweat Man. Yeah he's two. Yeah, Gerald LeVert January.
- 44:06Speaker 1: That's there's so many, you know, Tyrese, you gotta give
- 44:14Speaker 1: songs a lot of about the debate, to debate, to debate, please,
- 44:23Speaker 1: Jamie Fox, okay, all right to say he got out.
- 44:31Speaker 1: He got to be in there. Jamie can say blame
- 44:36Speaker 1: it on the alcohol. No, that wasn't man, but a
- 44:39Speaker 1: heaven must be missing the angel. He got hit, all right, Um,
- 44:43Speaker 1: keep the comments coming socially On Steve Harvey FM. Up

- 49:20Speaker 1: bathroom just jump, cut your clothes, getting the shot on white.
- 49:24Speaker 1: So I'm not finding the dog. That's like I said,
- 49:26Speaker 1: I'm numb right now, man, I need some help, And

- 54:29Speaker 1: Buckle up, pinhold on tight. We have it full you
- 54:32Speaker 1: here it is Strawberry Letter. Subject our friendship has turned
- 54:38Speaker 1: into a threesome. Dear Stephen Shirley, I need some advice
- 54:41Speaker 1: on a situation with my best friend and her husband.
- 54:45Speaker 1: My friend and I have known each other since high school,
- 54:47Speaker 1: and we were each other's in each other's wedding, and
- 54:50Speaker 1: our children are around the same age. My husband and
- 54:53Speaker 1: I double date with my friend and her husband, but
- 54:56Speaker 1: now I can't stand her husband on. He is a
- 55:00Speaker 1: great guy. He's professional, successful, and a great dad. What
- 55:04Speaker 1: bothers me about him most is that all of a sudden,
- 55:07Speaker 1: he has taken an interest in what me and his
- 55:10Speaker 1: wife are doing. All of the time if we are
- 55:13Speaker 1: all out together, he tends to be all up in
- 55:15Speaker 1: our conversation and engagees in our gossip sessions, and usually
- 55:20Speaker 1: as more gossip to share than we do. He thinks
- 55:23Speaker 1: he's a personal stylist too, so if we are discussing clothing, purses,
- 55:27Speaker 1: or shoes, he joins in with his opinion on designers.
- 55:31Speaker 1: When we discuss politics or sports, he is not as
- 55:34Speaker 1: animated or as interested, But the minute we start talking
- 55:38Speaker 1: about reality TV, he chimes right in. My husband has
- 55:43Speaker 1: noticed it too, and he is usually just sitting there
- 55:46Speaker 1: with nothing to say because he doesn't watch reality TV,
- 55:49Speaker 1: nor does he gossip. Whenever my friend and I are
- 55:52Speaker 1: having a juicy conversation on the phone, she will put
- 55:55Speaker 1: me on speaker and tell him, oh, honey, you got
- 55:59Speaker 1: to hear this. This is driving me nuts and I
- 56:02Speaker 1: want to talk to her about it, but it seems
- 56:04Speaker 1: like she encourages his behavior. I know your husband should
- 56:08Speaker 1: be your best friend, but jeez, I can't take it,
- 56:11Speaker 1: and I'm ready to bow out of this threesome. What
- 56:14Speaker 1: should I do? Well, now, this is a different kind
- 56:18Speaker 1: of threesome. Hum, Tommy's all disappointed? Here are disappointed? All
- 56:28Speaker 1: listen I blame this on your friend, your bestie from
- 56:32Speaker 1: high school, for including him in the conversation and everything.
- 56:35Speaker 1: I mean, you know, sometimes it's polite if they're just
- 56:37Speaker 1: sitting right there. But I mean, come on, you know,
- 56:40Speaker 1: we girls like to get wild and gossipy and we
- 56:42Speaker 1: do that. I mean, we we all do it, uh,
- 56:45Speaker 1: you know, with our friends when it's time for you know,
- 56:47Speaker 1: to talk just girl stuff, just like guys talk just
- 56:51Speaker 1: guy stuff. But if she's including him and making him
- 56:54Speaker 1: think that it's okay to do this, maybe this is
- 56:58Speaker 1: what he thinks she wants, so yeah, he's going to
- 57:00Speaker 1: be a part of it. I think it's it's a
- 57:02Speaker 1: little rude of her. It's a lot rude of her.
- 57:04Speaker 1: I should say to put you on speaker phone. You know,
- 57:07Speaker 1: you're supposed to let people know when they're on speaker phone,
- 57:10Speaker 1: because if you're talking to your girl, your girl might
- 57:13Speaker 1: be saying some crazy, wild stuff. You don't want guys
- 57:16Speaker 1: hearing that some things are just for our ears only. Okayum,
- 57:21Speaker 1: you know we could just be saying crazy, crazy, just
- 57:25Speaker 1: crazy stuff. I know, I do. You know, Carl and
- 57:28Speaker 1: I talk if we're on the phone, we're not Nesto
- 57:32Speaker 1: and Tash are nowhere near us and we're not on
- 57:35Speaker 1: speaker phone. Okay, what they need to do? Right? We're
- 57:41Speaker 1: talking crazy, so you know you don't want that. So
- 57:44Speaker 1: again I blame us on your girlfriend. What is she
- 57:47Speaker 1: doing this for? I mean, what is the point in
- 57:50Speaker 1: all of this If you're just talking with your girl.
- 57:52Speaker 1: Let it just be your girl. If you know, if
- 57:54Speaker 1: it's all inclusive, then do it when you all are
- 57:56Speaker 1: all together and it's something of interest to everyone. You say,
- 58:00Speaker 1: your husband isn't even interested in gossip. He doesn't watch
- 58:03Speaker 1: reality TV, so you know, change the subject if that's
- 58:06Speaker 1: the case. Uh, to the woman who wrote the letter,
- 58:09Speaker 1: change the subject if you see it's not going the
- 58:11Speaker 1: way you wanted to go to talk about stuff that
- 58:14Speaker 1: includes everyone that that your husband will be a part of,
- 58:17Speaker 1: or you and your girl just get up and you know, uh,
- 58:20Speaker 1: go out and talk about what you want to talk about.
- 58:23Speaker 1: I mean, I don't think we should make this into
- 58:25Speaker 1: a big deal where you gotta choose between your friends
- 58:29Speaker 1: or stop being friends with your best friend from high school.
- 58:32Speaker 1: I don't think it's that serious. It may get on
- 58:34Speaker 1: your nerves, but you just gotta change the dynamics and
- 58:37Speaker 1: change the conversation. You know, know who's in the room
- 58:39Speaker 1: and just change it. Uh Junior, Yeah, come on, I
- 58:43Speaker 1: see what's going on here. You see what's going on.
- 58:45Speaker 1: I see this right here. Yeah. Well this begs me
- 58:48Speaker 1: to ask the question, what kind of man? Uh you
- 58:52Speaker 1: shen All women conversation talking reality, fashion, all know all
- 58:59Speaker 1: about the person, this line, this fall, line of shoes,
- 59:03Speaker 1: all this type of stuff. Close. I tell you what
- 59:05Speaker 1: kind of man this is? Don't type of man that dude?
- 59:08Speaker 1: This is ugly to men. You know why? No man?
- 59:12Speaker 1: They got time to read this. Ain't nobody bothering them.
- 59:15Speaker 1: That's how they have so much noted. Ugly people know
- 59:17Speaker 1: a lot. You ain't never her, You ain't never found
- 59:19Speaker 1: an other person. Ain't got nothing to say. Other people
- 59:22Speaker 1: know about everything. They know about all the guys are
- 59:24Speaker 1: going down at the church. Didn't know everything ain't going
- 59:26Speaker 1: on at the job because they ask. Nobody's talking to them.
- 59:29Speaker 1: They listen. When they get an opportunity to jump in,
- 59:32Speaker 1: they must be feel this information. This is an ugly man.
- 59:35Speaker 1: At worst I've seen this ass is ugly about you see,
- 59:43Speaker 1: her husband didn't know that. Her husband didn't know anything.
- 59:46Speaker 1: He handled people don't have to say nothing he found
- 59:50Speaker 1: you get for us cold. He don't talk a lot,
- 59:54Speaker 1: you know, and he's about everything. He had thirty two
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: women to talk to, all right, j what you got
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: really gonna have? Friendship? Agree with Junior. Not only is
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: he ugly, but the part of this letter that jumps
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: out it is he's a professional, he's successful, and he's
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: a great dad, which means he has learned with his
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: ugly self everything in his life that he needs to
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: know he has. He's suffering from a disease that a
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: lot of men get when they get around that age.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: It's no tall. They know every damn suffering from. No
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: tall means he's a know it all. He knows every
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: damn thing. Just something that they say about him when
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: he's not around. He makes me sick with his ugly ass.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: As soon as he's not around, they say that a lot.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: He made me so sick with his I know it
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: is what you see it you don't know, you see
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: he made me so damn sick with you guys. You
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: guys have a part, right, Yeah, And she needs to
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: realize that because I don't think this is anything worth
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: breaking up a long term friendship. Like you have with
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: your bestie. Don't do that. Don't don't do that. No,
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: you've been You guys have been friends since high school.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: You your kids are friends. All right, we'll get into it.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: The nephew hasn't responded. Uh. The subject is our friendship
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: has turned into a threesome. We'll be back at twenty
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: three after you're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, guys,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: come on, we need to get back into this letter.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: We'll recap it. The subject is our friendship has turned
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: into a threesome. We've heard from Junior, we've heard from Jay,
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: you've heard from me, of course, and we haven't heard
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: from the nephew. But the letter a woman writes in
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: she wants some advice on a situation about her best
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: friend and her husband a different kind of threesome, Tommy.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: As a matter of fact, she and her friend have
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: known each other since high school. They were in each
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: other's weddings, their children are around the same age. She
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: and her husband date with her best friend and her
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: husband a lot of the times, and they go out
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: and everything. But now what's happening is her best friend's
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: husband is starting to dip into their conversation. He knows
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: more about the stuff that they talk about than the
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: girls do. Okay, he knows all about fashion, he knows
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: all about reality TV. On the other hand, now he
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: is a professional and all of that. He has a
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: great job. He doesn't talk about politics, he doesn't talk
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: about sports or anything like that. So he's talking more
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: to the women than he is to the guy. They
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: don't talk about, you know, guy things. He's over there
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: with the women. Junior says, he's ugly. I say that
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: she needs to switch the conversation up. She needs to
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: just you know, talk about stuff that they can all
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: be inclusive in. Jay agrees with Junior that the man
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: must be ugly. He got to be because he knows
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: too much. He knows too much us be quiet. Yeah,
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: she said it's driving her nuts and she wants to
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: talk to her girlfriend about it. But but she's kind
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: of upset with her girlfriend because she believes that her
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: girlfriend encourages his behavior. So he doesn't know that he should,
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: you know, step back and and and not do this.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: I don't understand for you. It's a different kind of threesome.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: Something I'm not used what I'm not used to the
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: other one. Let me let me stop listen. Uh. I
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: don't agree with this man. I don't agree with what
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: he's doing. I don't agree with these realities shows. Unless
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: he is on the own network watching Ready to Love.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: That I understand this man. You understand me. I don't
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: understand if he's watching something else, but if he's watching
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: Ready to Love, if he's talking about the host, I
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: don't Ready to Love. I understand him. Delvin diving in
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: and talking back and forth. What the ladies about this?
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: If he talking about the host, if he talking about
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: Will Paco, if he's talking about Oh, if he talking
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: about Mike and Shaye, are they gonna get married? If
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: he's talking, I understand this brother. I feel where he's
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: coming from, and I get it. He understand now. If
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: he's talking about other shows that I don't know nothing about,
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: I ain't gonna do that. What I'm saying is if
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: he's talking about Ready to Love on the own network
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: hosted by yours truly, then I understand what this man
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: is going through. I understand when people start talking about it,
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: he wants to discuss it. I get it. I get it,
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: and I see why the threesome this is a this
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: is a reality the threesome. You understand I'm saying, and
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: I get it. It's a reality threesome. You know, this
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: is where this is where three people are joined together
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: talking about a reality situation, a reality show. This is
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: a threesome. This is a Ready to Love threesome by fans.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: This is what this is. Don't about to see this
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: see with Yeah? Yeah. What I do see is how
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: this gets on her nerves. Though. Understand you don't want
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: to Ready to Love or do that to you. You
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: see what I'm saying. But I mean Ready to Love
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: is different because that's the show for men and women.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: You know, that is a show. But see, that's what
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: he that's why he's jumping into the conversation because he
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: knows everything about it. Yes, yes, yes, yeah, yes, thank you.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: So he knows your history of the show, he knows
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: where you came from, he knows that you've been through,
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: and he's constantly trying to share this with these women
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: because he knows everything about that show. And it's and
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: I understand the guys, it's all right to be ugly
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: and watch reality TV. I don't care what you look like.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: It's the knowledge he didn't retain. That's what we are
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: set about. How you know all this stuff they bring
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: up the game? You ain't see that, but soon did.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: Somebody said, did y'allsey, Tim, you are ready to love?
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: And he come up the back with his mouth. I
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: showed the I'm not mad at him. You're talking politics.
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: Did you see what Trump did to Jack? Oh? My god?
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: S sports? Politics? He don't he don't say nothing. He
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: says nothing nothing. In the game, it's silent, you and
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: Jay having a conversation and he come in. Go ahead.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: So like the game the other night, man, it was
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: a great game. Did you see it? Because it was great? Man? Man,
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: did y'all share Mike? Did y'all shaw Mike? Ready to
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: Ready to Love? I know y'all talking about something, but
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: did y'all see your no? Man? Hey man, So you
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: don't like um um Sunday? Man, the Cowboys beat the Eagles. Man,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: I'm not a big cowboy thing. I don't like cowboy either,
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: but I gotta get pull it out, man. You know
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: Aaron Aaron Aaron on Ready to Love had a Cowboys
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: shirt on on the land front. Is quarterback team or something? Bro? Bro,
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: We're not We're not. We talked about football. We don't
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: know what to talk about. What is you talking about?
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: H So, who do you think that the greatest quarterback is?
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: Like today junior man right now, Drew Braids right there?
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: This season is you know Drew red Patrick Mahomes is
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: ready showing out this year too. Man. You know the
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: guy Poco Poco, he lost the quarter in the quarterback
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: but he lost the quarter doing the show, ready on,
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: ready to thinking about going back to try to find
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: who who were not talking about that? But we're not
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: football man, hold on ye, but I was saying Poco
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: had lost the quarter. They everybody was looking forward. Now
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: get Jack look here man, um, Lebron James and Dwayne
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: Waye Man they played against man for the last time.
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: Man last the heat. Man. It was a good game.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: Came down the last shot man, Wayne to the last shot,
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: missed it. But you know Lebron was going. I thought
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: that was pretty cool man for them to go listen
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: to y'all know Will Packer had Lakers tickets. He goes
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: all the time. He host for ridder Man. Did you
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: take your ugly behind with the women? Go over there
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: with him? So over him to talk with your wife
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: and her friend about all this. Man, we all talking sport, y'all. Y'all, y'all,
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: y'all make me want to throw some water in y'all face.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: That's all right, guys, we gotta get out of here.
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: You can email us or instagram my shirt thoughts on
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: today's strawberry letter. At Steve Harvey FM now coming up
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: in ten minutes, President Trump argued with Democratic leaders Nancy
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: Pelosi and Chuck Schumer over the wall funding. Boy did
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: you see that? But Chuck and Nancy were ready with
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: the clap bag. We'll talk about it right after this.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning show. President Trump argued
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: with Democratic leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer over wall
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: funding on this Mexico border wall in the Oval Office.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: This was on live TV. Did you guys see this? Tears?
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: I think we can agree on is we shouldn't shut
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: down the government over a dispute. And you want to
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: shut it down. You keep talking about the last time, Chuck,
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: you shut it down. Oh no, no, and then you
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: open any time quickly. And I don't want to do
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: what you did twenty times. You will called for I
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: will shut down the government if I don't get my
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: woll none of us. If you want to know, you've
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: said you want to put them on set it. I'll
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: take it. Okay, good, you know what. I'll say, Yes,
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: if we don't get what we want one way or
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: the other, whether it's through you, through a military, through
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: anything you want to call, I will shut down the
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: governabout and I am proud and I'll disagree. I am
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: proud to shut down the government for border security check
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: because the people of this country don't want criminals and
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: people that have lots of problems and drugs pouring into
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: our country. So I will take the mantle. I will
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: be the one to shut it down. I'm not gonna
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: blame you for it. The last time you shut it down,
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: it didn't work. I will take the mantle of shutting
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: down and I'm gonna shut it down for border But
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: we believe you shouldn't shut it down. Thank you very much,
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: everybody who and sing that President, but this is lock live,
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: this is live. Yeah. I mean I feel like we
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: were pulling back the curtain on suddenly. We should not
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: have been singing, you know. Noah, My argument is lave wait.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: What I tell all my arguments is live. That's all.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: You're not the president, sir, and you're been the oval.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Offer to say that I'm shut the government, yeah, I'll
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: take it. I'll take Christmas to say stuff like, yeah,
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: the government people don't waiting I mean the post office, Yeah,
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: the DMV all that. I mean, nobody wants to hear that. No, no, no,
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: they don't. He'll do it though, you know he work
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: for the government. And then what he said about the
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: people coming over here, I mean, you know he shouldn't
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: have said that either. No, he always criminals with with
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: being criminals and evil people and they're all not that all,
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: not that it just as not Yeah, of course not.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: He has no right to say that. Yeah, But Chuck
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: and Nancy were just it was It was to me,
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: it was like two people who know what they're talking
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: about against a guy who didn't know what the hell
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: he was talking about, right, and he just made they
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: made him look stupid, right stupid. After that, Chuck Schimmer
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: went on to say that the president is having a
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: temper tantrum. Take a listen to this. This Trump shut down,
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: this temper tantrum that he seems to throw will not
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: get him his wall, and it'll hurt a lot of
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: people because he will cause a shutdown. He admitted he
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: wanted to shut down. It's hard to believe that he
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: would want that, very hard to believe, very very hard.
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: If he's the president and he's asked, he's saying, if
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: he doesn't get what he wants, he's gonna shut down
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: the government. You're the president. Yeah, he let your little
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: kid in the back of the card. It's whining because
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: you don't want to take him to get French fries. Yeah, no, no,
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: he want to take his ball and go home. Yeah,
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: you're right, right. And can you just imagine if this
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: were Obama? I mean really, it would just it would
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: be so awful. He would be the worst person on
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: the planet. He would You know what happened in Mexico
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: paying for the wall? One n they're gonna pay for
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: the wall. Now he told you he wasn't paying for it.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: Now told him, he told you Mexico told him right. Yeah,
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: he told him in two languages and no, no, no,
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: my friend, happen we're not fishing the wall. No. He
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: taught him in Spanish and French here and in coach
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: h that's why I made in French. Yeah, well. Chuck
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: Schumer went on to say that the Democrats have a
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: proposal that both Democrats and Republicans will support that will
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: not shut down the government. The President said, if it's
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: not good border security, he will shut down the government.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: Was he listening, No, he wouldn't listen. I mean really
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: thinks they won the election. That they didn't. The Republicans
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: lost yeast of the seats, but they're not in charge anymore.
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: I mean right, that's why Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: were there in January. They will take control. Yeah, he
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: tried to. He tried to slight. It looks like Nancy
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: Pelosi a little bit because she doesn't have that control,
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: you know. In other words, yeah she did. And if
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: you saw it, did you see Vice President Pence in
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: the background, No, I didn't pay attention to. Oh yes,
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: he was on the side. Yeah. Yeah, he was closing
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: his eyes, looking Christmas around around like he was lacking position. Yeah, exactly, exactly. Oh,
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: he he wanted to be anywhere else, but he never
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: went Hey, guys, come on, I mean nothing, he didn't no, no, no,
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: But I love all the pictures on social media Nancy
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: Pelosi when she left her and Chuck Schumer. She put
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: on her glasses and her red coat. Yes, I don't
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: want to start talking about fashion like that guy. But okay,
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: I didn't see that in the Strawberry letter earlier. Yeah yeah,
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: but we we you know, we can't go on like this.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: I mean, things are going to change in January when
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: the Democrats take over the House. You know it will change.
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: You won't be able to do these, you know type
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: of things. Just shut it down like this, don't do
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: Try to work together, try to reach over and and
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: do some bipartisanship here. You know, that's what it's going
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: to take, both parties working together. His hat needs to
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: change to make a make America hate, because that's all
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: he's done, made America hate. Yeah, low approval rating too
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: right now? Yeah yeah, Well, hopefully he won't shut down
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: the government, but he says he will. Hopefully he won't,
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: but he'll do it. You'll do it, Okay, Can I
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: just say this, uck Jay? They saying on social media?
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: Then Mike Pence look like weekend at Bernie. Yeah he
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: really did, I mean he really did. All right? Coming
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: up coming up next at the top of the hour,
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: some fun random questions just random questions for the crew
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: right after this you're listening to all right, guys, these
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: are just some fun random questions just for you, guys.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: I want to hear what you guys say. Yes, yes,
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: just some random questions. All right, here we go. This
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: question is for you, Tommy, the very first one. Why
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: just because? All right, what's the best gift you've ever gotten?
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: That's a good question. A little saucier after that one. Okay,
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: y'all gonna y'all, y'all gonna make fun of me though,
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: well yeah, okay, okay, can't take it. Giff is from
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: my mother and my sister. Oh, I know, I know,
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: all right, and it is every month I get uh
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: caviar sent to me on dry eyes from Europe. That's Stevey. Hey, hey,
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: we don't meet him right now. It's right, but I
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: get the caviar in I get to do my thing.
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: When you know, that's you know, out of the box
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: thinking good gift. I appreciate that. That's a good gift.
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: It's very because they know how much you can't live
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: without caviar. Whatever, we won't do that, but go ahead,
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: all right, Carla, here's one for you. What's the worst
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: gift you've ever gotten? Caviar? No, every month, every month
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: a key chain. Older relative wrapped it up for Christmas
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: and I opened it up and you like it. I
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: want to throw it and you gotta lie. Oh yeah,
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: this is just what I want. It so nice and
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: just talking about chain. You never have enough? All right, Jay? Whatever, Jay,
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: Jay one for you? Okay, and this is perfect for you.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: What are your methods for getting over someone? You know,
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: when you break up with them? What how do you
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: get over them? Oh? That's easy. If you're in the
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: emergency room and and they can't find you, and you
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: send them You go to the emergency room and you
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: send them a picture of you in the emergency room. Right,
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: you're not actually in there. You just go there and
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: take the picture and say that you're checking yourself in
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: and you're gonna be in there for a while. And
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: so we're gonna have to break up because I got
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: a lot of tests. I'm gonna be taken. I'm sorry
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: because I don't want to put the sickness that I
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: got on our relationship. Love. This This is a break up.
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: You're breaking up with you, you're breaking the question. Yeah,
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: the question was after you break up. How do you
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: get over it? Oh? How do I get over? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: I didn't understand. We'll ask the question again. Okay, what
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna come back to you? Ask me again. I'm
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: ready because I didn't understand what you were saying. Ask
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: me again. So, how do you get over someone after
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: you've broken up with them? I'll ask you that way?
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: Steve said it best. Okay. The best way to get
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: old of somebody is get on top of the situation somebody.
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: The best way to get somebody is to try your best,
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: and it could be anybody. And at that point, you're
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: not really choosing. You know what I'm saying. You just
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: want to get on top of the situation. Many times,
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: many times we get it because what I'm doing is
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: getting on top of the Here's one for you, you,
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: young junior. What account can you never access because you
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: forgot the password? All of the one? Right now? No funny, junior?
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: Right to get money at them? I couldn't. I could not.
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: There's not ain I got a bill do right now?
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: It's late. Notice it's late. Notice it's for my water
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: bill seven dollar. Huh, there's gonna cut the water off
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: seven because I don't know the password, none of them.
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: Can't you just change it and get it? I don't
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: know why? Well sure, huh how is it connected to
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: your email? Yeah? But how they seep sending me? They
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: said that when you clay log in, then the two
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: words you hate when you don't log in? What you

- 1:20:50Speaker 1: click here, you forgot your past your password? Yeah, change

- 1:21:02Speaker 1: we're all Steve's not on this boat. Huh, we're all
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: on a boat. Okay, we're trying to get off of
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: this island. We can come back and get one person.
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: If all of us get on the boat, who do
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: we leave on the island and come back and get
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: at a later time? I would leave Steve. No, no, no,
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: Steve's not involved in this, is not involved. No Steve,
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: just us just whoever it's share today? Well you know
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: Steve because he's rich and he called, all right, who
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: do you put off and say, hey, we'll be back
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: to pick here later on? Man? I love you all.
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: I don't know. No, No, we can't get off this island,
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: and with this, Shirley, this I mean, honestly, Dan, I
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: have to say, Tommy, because I've known him the longest,
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: you leave to leave him. I thought you said, who
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: would I take with me? No, you take everybody's gonna leave.
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: You just left me and you just threw it off
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: with them. That's what you just did. You just got
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: on your boat and you just wave bye bye to me.
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: That's what you just did. That. We got you, We
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: got you, We got your little ass. Call it what's yours?
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: That's not what I meant, Tommy, push that what the
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: gad calling? Let me get your choice. Who I'm what?
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: You know? Who? The hell? The question is who? You
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: leave it on the ah. We're gonna come back and
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: get him, but you gotta leave him. Who we leave them?
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: I'm I knows me, Tommy, You're gonna have to stay

- 1:23:29Speaker 1: I want to be the sickest person on the boat,

- 1:23:58Speaker 1: just you know, questions off the top of the dumb.
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: Then Jay came in and asked this crazy question about
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: if it was all right. You asked the question if
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: every if we were all on an island, who would
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: I leave and come back and get? But I thought
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: you said who would I take? And so I said Tommy.
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: But but but the question was who would you leave?
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: So basically, bumba, you got on the vote and left me.
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: Carlin said the same thing she leaves pizza. Junior said
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: he leaving jacause he wanted to be to have all
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: the medical attentions right right, I don't need him in
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: the way. I don't need him in the one. Jason,
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: he's leaving Junior because he wants to be the sickest
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: person on the boat, like like that's the badge of honor.
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: Let me say this, though, when you when you and
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: Carlor come back, it's war. Nobody's leaving the Eyeland where y'all.
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: I thought Steve was there. I would have definitely left.
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: Were about to be Gilligan. Then when y'all get back,
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: well we're if it's Gilligan, who would you leave? Who
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: would you leave? Tommy? Didn't you know what? Jay? I
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: know you know what. I've changed so much? Jay, I
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: would leave myself because I love y'all so much. Just
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: that all that to Lot, Well, you're gonna leave me.
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: I'm not worried, but it's just a question. I would
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: all y'all so much. I would just stay myself and
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: y'all go ahead. See I'm all right, No, that's changed.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: That was my That was my initial response that I
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: couldn't leave anyone because it would be too hard. That's
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: not how that worked. This is This is why people
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: don't be in leadership position, because they can't make decisions.
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: Somebody gotta be left. I'm already over. Everybody's leaving you.
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: You don't want that. I'm dreaming that this is fantasy
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: Island and it's a bunch of naked people on the
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: other side. Crazy, all I know. If it's Gilligan's Island,
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: I'm ginger, that's all I. Oh, I guess I'm marrying.

- 1:30:56Speaker 1: last break of the day, Steve. You're closing remarks for us. Hey,
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: let me give you this thought that will help you out.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: Oh about other people's opinion. Don't let other people's opinion
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: determine your direction. Don't let other people's opinions affect your direction.
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: Let me explain something to you. They don't know. They
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: actually do not know what's best for you. Most people don't,
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: even people who are well meaning. They just really don't
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: know the answer to your success lies. Really, I'm telling you,
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: between you and the relationship you have with God. God
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: is in the dream come true business and whatever he
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: puts in your imagination, that's what he had for you.
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: We've covered this last week. But if you're gonna allow
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: people's opinion, other people's opinion to affect your direction, you
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: are now being guided by some people other than you,
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: And God, what do they really know another thing about
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: other people's opinion. You gotta be careful of them because
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: sometimes you need to look very closely at the person
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: that's providing the opinion. Look at them. Some of them
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: really really shouldn't be an advisatory capacity. They really shouldn't. Man,
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: it's some people passing out advice in your life that
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: hain't that ain't took their own advice. It's some people
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: giving you advice who need to be advised. It's some
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: people giving you advice that don't listen to nothing nobody
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: else got to say. And their life is just an
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: example of it. They are walking results of their of
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: their opinion of them, sales, and and and and the
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: and their ability to follow directions. So you gotta be
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: careful when you're taking directions from other people, because everybody
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: don't mean well, they don't even when they think they do. Man,
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: how many times man in my life, Man, if I
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: let somebody give me an opinion about me, an opinion
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: which I should have never have listened to it. You know,
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: I'd say this all the time. I was watching um
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: um um or Joel Osteen on TV, and he said
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: people's opinion of you is none of your business, nor
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: should you make it yours. It doesn't matter what their
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: opinion of you is. It just doesn't matter because God
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: is in the come get you business. Let me tell
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: you something, man, whoever you are right now, I'm gonna
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: tell you a story I heard one time. It's called
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: it's like the Thomas and the Boat story. This man
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: named Thomas one day was out on the boat by himselves,
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: a beautiful day. It's out there sailing on a boat,
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: and a storm came up out of nowhere, and it
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: capsized the boat. And he was way out and he
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: was lost at seat. But he got lost, and he
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: got washed up on a deserted islid, and so he
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: got up. He woke up, he shook up pretty bad,
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: and he found himself on his deserted olive. He didn't
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: know where his boat was or nothing. He was just
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: sitting there because the boat it capsized, and so he's
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: sitting there. So days went by, days and days and
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: days went by. He just out on his olive, just
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: trying to make it work, running out of food. He
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: can't get nobody's attention. He drawing notes in the sand
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: and stuff helped. Nothing. Planes going by, He don't he waving,
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: don't nobody see him. He just on this olive. So
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: weeks it went by. So he got kind of crafty,
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: so he decided one day to build himself some shelter.
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: He took some bamboo and some banana leaves, and he built,
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: you know, a little covering just for some shelter at night.
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: And this is going along pretty good for a few days,
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: but he getting a little bit more and more depressed
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: because nobody can find it. I mean, it ain't a
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: boat going by or nothing. And it just started getting
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: real down on itself because his predicament seemed so unbelievable.
