- 1:03Speaker 1: is beautiful, local design, cake of money making conversation. Nobody

- 1:09Speaker 1: like a total surprise and she's back in studio because
- 1:12Speaker 1: we believe you should taste as good as it looks, really,
- 1:17Speaker 1: you know, and that not only was the logo good looking,
- 1:20Speaker 1: but the food was better all gates, all guests. I
- 1:24Speaker 1: believe that when you raping by food, it should be
- 1:27Speaker 1: the experience and then the I would like to sell
- 1:30Speaker 1: the desserts that have made it a little A little
- 1:33Speaker 1: slice of heaven is truly an experience. Please work with
- 1:35Speaker 1: the money making conversation, Melanie wide money. Thank you so
- 1:40Speaker 1: much for having me. It's a pleasure to be here
- 1:43Speaker 1: again with you today. Bearing treats again, of course based
- 1:47Speaker 1: on the tell everybody about sweet that I'm eating. It's
- 1:50Speaker 1: gonna give me time to tall eat a little bit snap.
- 1:54Speaker 1: So I brought for Rushan today our best selling flavor,
- 1:59Speaker 1: which is many lemon pound cakes, and we ship these
- 2:03Speaker 1: all across the nation and a two count, six count
- 2:07Speaker 1: or a twelve count um. So we've shipped over thirty
- 2:11Speaker 1: states across the US, and we will definitely left to
- 2:14Speaker 1: ship to your doorstep fresh from our ovens. But that
- 2:18Speaker 1: is what you're eating now. My mother developed that recipe
- 2:21Speaker 1: leon right, lemon, that's right, it's not overly lemon it's
- 2:26Speaker 1: more in the middle. It's like that this mini buntcake, right,
- 2:29Speaker 1: that's right, But I do them in full size as well.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Just work for me, right because you know, I don't
- 2:36Speaker 1: have to worry about slicing anything. The mini buntcake, you know,
- 2:39Speaker 1: it's just like you know, just putting your hand, pick
- 2:41Speaker 1: that plastic off of and just just snack on it.
- 2:44Speaker 1: That's right. And then while you're driving, make sure you
- 2:48Speaker 1: keep the plastic right, so the chron phone falling driving.
- 2:52Speaker 1: So I got a technique. So I'm gonna have a
- 2:54Speaker 1: fight with my wife now. I'm gonna tell you right now,
- 2:56Speaker 1: because I'm gonna sneak him in the house keeping in
- 2:58Speaker 1: the outside refrigeration it. I won't bring him. I parked
- 3:01Speaker 1: my car. They're gonna stay out there. Maybe she won't
- 3:04Speaker 1: notice why I'm standing in the garage. So long to
- 3:09Speaker 1: wiping my lips. Baby, everything good. You shows out there
- 3:15Speaker 1: a lot, don't worry about it. It's cold like them.
- 3:19Speaker 1: So how all this baking begin? So I grew up
- 3:22Speaker 1: in the household of people who love to bake and
- 3:26Speaker 1: make food from scratch, and so that's how my love
- 3:29Speaker 1: began of baking. My mother was a scratch baker, and
- 3:33Speaker 1: I used to help her in the kitchen, and I
- 3:35Speaker 1: used to love to hand her the ingredients and of
- 3:39Speaker 1: course after she got finished beating all the ingredients stuff,
- 3:43Speaker 1: I would get to lick the bowls. Who doesn't love that?
- 3:46Speaker 1: So that's how I began just loving all things about
- 3:50Speaker 1: cake and and that's when I developed that love and passion.
- 3:53Speaker 1: What type of product does your baker Real offer? So,
- 3:56Speaker 1: which is, by the way, a little slice of him,
- 3:59Speaker 1: that's right, look at up on social media, a little
- 4:01Speaker 1: slice they have and bakery. So we offer all types
- 4:05Speaker 1: of different cakes like you just had the pound cake.
- 4:09Speaker 1: We do them in meaning form as well as full
- 4:11Speaker 1: size having right now, that's right, that's right. We also
- 4:15Speaker 1: do dessert style cakes, which are your homestyle cakes like
- 4:19Speaker 1: red velvet cake and UM chocolate cake and um premium
- 4:24Speaker 1: flavors like strawberry and key lime and German chocolate. So
- 4:28Speaker 1: we offer those. But we also offer, as you stated before,
- 4:32Speaker 1: custom cakes, cakes that really take you to another level
- 4:36Speaker 1: because they are designed with you the client in mind,
- 4:40Speaker 1: and those are available locally for our local clients. And
- 4:44Speaker 1: I do sculptic cakes, cakes with three D edible creations
- 4:50Speaker 1: design whatever you have in mind. I can make it
- 4:53Speaker 1: because a lot, you know, because I've have a head
- 4:56Speaker 1: all about daughter. I did a like a fantasy king
- 5:00Speaker 1: the type cake. She was so young, she didn't understand,
- 5:03Speaker 1: you know, all that money. She don't even know what's
- 5:05Speaker 1: going on. Really bothered from me. It was my fantasy.
- 5:11Speaker 1: And so when I when I talk about what was it?
- 5:13Speaker 1: What was the longest length of time from start to
- 5:17Speaker 1: finish you've done on the cake? And what what cake
- 5:19Speaker 1: was that? Wow? So I spent a lot of time
- 5:22Speaker 1: on my custom creations, but the one that took me
- 5:25Speaker 1: probably the longest, is thirty six hours total. It was
- 5:29Speaker 1: one I made for my youngest son. It was a
- 5:32Speaker 1: toy box cake, and so I made all the little
- 5:35Speaker 1: toys and details, wood grain floor, I had the toy
- 5:39Speaker 1: box elevated, I had it open and had a custom rug.
- 5:44Speaker 1: It had a toy block spelling out his name, and
- 5:47Speaker 1: it was absolutely wonderful. All of it was. Yeah, it's
- 5:55Speaker 1: been over a year since the last saw you. That's right, okay,
- 5:58Speaker 1: because that's my anniversary. So some things have been happening
- 6:02Speaker 1: positive in your life. Business been doing well, but we
- 6:05Speaker 1: may be seeing you on the small screen. That's right. Actually,
- 6:09Speaker 1: the big screen because we are about to them be
- 6:12Speaker 1: making our television debut on the Food Network. That was
- 6:16Speaker 1: the highlight, definitely the highlights of my career. Being invited
- 6:21Speaker 1: out to California to film for a new show called
- 6:24Speaker 1: Winner Cake All. It's uh aired. It started airing on
- 6:30Speaker 1: January seventh of this year. In our episode is February eleventh.
- 6:35Speaker 1: It's a Monday at ten pm. So I can't wait
- 6:39Speaker 1: to see me on the screen and see how it's
- 6:43Speaker 1: been edited. But it was a wonderful, wonderful it spen.
- 6:47Speaker 1: How were you selected for that? It's called Winner Cake
- 6:49Speaker 1: All Winter Cake All. That's right. I was selected. I applied,
- 6:53Speaker 1: I sent my portfolio. When they saw all the different
- 6:57Speaker 1: creations that I've made, they were interested than my work.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Then they called me. I did the telephone interview, like
- 7:04Speaker 1: love my personality and they're like, we gotta have you.
- 7:08Speaker 1: So what was the goal of Internet contest our internet
- 7:12Speaker 1: television show? What? What? What was the purpose? The purpose
- 7:15Speaker 1: was just to challenge myself personally. I know I'm capable
- 7:20Speaker 1: with any type of design, but you know, when you're
- 7:22Speaker 1: on a Food network type show is like competition base.
- 7:27Speaker 1: So that was definitely something that I stepped out of
- 7:29Speaker 1: my comfort zone for but I knew that I wanted
- 7:34Speaker 1: a little slice of Head and Bakery to be a
- 7:36Speaker 1: household name. And in order to be able to have
- 7:40Speaker 1: that kind of exposure, you have to put yourself out.
- 7:43Speaker 1: What is the format? How do how does it work? Okay?
- 7:46Speaker 1: So the show is four teams up to compete, and
- 7:50Speaker 1: there's two rounds. One is the top a round which
- 7:53Speaker 1: you get one hour, and then one team is eliminated,
- 7:56Speaker 1: and then it goes on to a second round, which
- 7:59Speaker 1: is the cake round. You get five hours for that,
- 8:02Speaker 1: and then whoever wins that is the winner, Winner, Cake All.
- 8:06Speaker 1: So we can't tell us and I can't tell us.
- 8:08Speaker 1: You're all gonna have to watch Favorite eleven at ten
- 8:12Speaker 1: pm Eastern. Watch me watch you don't watch a loser?
- 8:22Speaker 1: But what was what was the most difficult moment in
- 8:24Speaker 1: the show for you? Winner Take All, Cake Alls call,
- 8:28Speaker 1: which would be airing on The Food That Works on
- 8:31Speaker 1: February eleven, which is a monthm What was it? Because
- 8:35Speaker 1: you know you woke in there and I've been in
- 8:36Speaker 1: these kitchens. You know the oven looks different, heats different,
- 8:41Speaker 1: It's set up, everything set up supposed to be even
- 8:44Speaker 1: what was the trippy part of the production for you.
- 8:47Speaker 1: The trippy part for me is I like to be
- 8:49Speaker 1: behind the scenes. I like to just create, so I
- 8:53Speaker 1: don't like being in front of camera. So that was
- 8:56Speaker 1: kind of nerve wracking to have all those lights, all
- 8:59Speaker 1: the camera it's just directly in your face while you're
- 9:02Speaker 1: trying to work and them calling out you got five minutes,
- 9:04Speaker 1: you've got two minutes, so you know, the time pressure,
- 9:08Speaker 1: not knowing the surroundings of the kitchen because they gave
- 9:12Speaker 1: us a tour like immediately and they said go, So
- 9:15Speaker 1: you're trying to scramble to the fine things. So that
- 9:18Speaker 1: was definitely a lot of pressure. Definitely a lot of stress,
- 9:21Speaker 1: but the experience was just absolutely amazing. Well that's really good.
- 9:25Speaker 1: That's really good there because you know, I look at
- 9:28Speaker 1: individuals like you and know this is just one step,
- 9:31Speaker 1: but it's a magical step. And I always always tell
- 9:34Speaker 1: people the temper themselves, you know, don't don't look at
- 9:37Speaker 1: this like the lottery. This is what you just you
- 9:40Speaker 1: be on TV many more times. You know, you you'd
- 9:42Speaker 1: be exposed many more time, and each time you get
- 9:45Speaker 1: exposed to give you another level of opportunity. To be
- 9:48Speaker 1: successful because next time you be on TV, you're gonna go, yeah,
- 9:51Speaker 1: I remember I did this, but I'm gonna do it.
- 9:54Speaker 1: I'm a handred like this, or I won't talk so fast,
- 9:56Speaker 1: or my nerves. I know how to calm them down
- 9:59Speaker 1: a better. I'll tell you something. You know. I'm teasing,
- 10:04Speaker 1: you know because with my sister, so she talked to fast.
- 10:08Speaker 1: I can understand it, but I don't think they understand anything.
- 10:10Speaker 1: You're sati shot. I go. So I have my little
- 10:13Speaker 1: critique team out there, you know, because I don't like
- 10:15Speaker 1: watching myself on TV until way like a moth past
- 10:19Speaker 1: I watched Oh yeah, because it's really difficult. Steve Harvey,
- 10:22Speaker 1: he's never watched himself on TV because it's really hard
- 10:25Speaker 1: to watch yourself, you know, unless you a method actor
- 10:28Speaker 1: or you try to create a dramatic moment. If you're
- 10:31Speaker 1: just a regular person. You're not just sitting at the
- 10:33Speaker 1: home my show. Don't nobody does that, you know, because
- 10:37Speaker 1: you gotta you want to move on and create multiple
- 10:39Speaker 1: streams of income so you can be very successful in
- 10:42Speaker 1: your craft. And that's what you're doing. So tell us
- 10:44Speaker 1: one more time about Little Slice of Heaven and how
- 10:46Speaker 1: we can orders some of baked goods online. That's right.
- 10:50Speaker 1: So for those of you all who are not local
- 10:53Speaker 1: to Atlanta, you can still benefit from our bake goods.
- 10:57Speaker 1: You can visit us at w W dot a L

- 11:12Speaker 1: first of all, as as an individual who started this
- 11:15Speaker 1: brand to give exposure to young entrepreneurs, I can continue
- 11:19Speaker 1: a young portunuere in this business trying to find avenues
- 11:22Speaker 1: just to get the word out. And again, my commitment
- 11:26Speaker 1: to you, as if I say the first time I
- 11:28Speaker 1: met you was to help you be successful. I will
- 11:30Speaker 1: definitely be posting um this on the social media. In fact,

- 11:41Speaker 1: promoting that. You'll be on February level on Winner Cake
