- 0:09Speaker 1: Center.
- 0:10Speaker 2: There are certain shows we get to do with this
- 0:12Speaker 2: pod that are just a lot of fun. This is
- 0:14Speaker 2: gonna be one of those, and we're gonna get to
- 0:16Speaker 2: cover a lot of different things, including I want to
- 0:18Speaker 2: know how you're gonna get Jack this year. You're I'm
- 0:21Speaker 2: gonna hold you to it in this podcast because you
- 0:23Speaker 2: said you wanted to like shred. We're using like masculine
- 0:27Speaker 2: words today, shred thirty pounds. Is that right? That was
- 0:29Speaker 2: the January resolution? Is that I want to get you
- 0:32Speaker 2: on the record at the beginning.
- 0:34Speaker 3: You are absolutely right, and I will tell you for
- 0:36Speaker 3: all all our listeners and viewers, we have a very
- 0:39Speaker 3: special podcast today because we've we've got a guest that
- 0:42Speaker 3: we have the great Dana White, the CEO of UFC,
- 0:47Speaker 3: an incredible businessman, an incredible leader, and just an all
- 0:51Speaker 3: around badass. Uh and so by the way, that is
- 0:55Speaker 3: a technical term. And so Dana, welcome to Verdict. We're
- 0:59Speaker 3: really glad to have you with us.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Thank you, Senator, Thank you, Ben.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Good to see you, Man, you too.
- 1:04Speaker 2: So I'm going to start with a big question on
- 1:06Speaker 2: behalf of the Center because I know he's going to
- 1:08Speaker 2: get around this, So we're gonna. I'm gonna we're holding
- 1:10Speaker 2: I am his accountability partner in these are your resolutions.
- 1:13Speaker 2: One of them is to lose thirty pounds. I want
- 1:15Speaker 2: to know right away you've gone through a health transformation.
- 1:18Speaker 2: What is your advice to Center Cruz. I'll take it
- 1:21Speaker 2: as well, because you do a lot of very interesting
- 1:24Speaker 2: things to get in shape.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Well, how old are you, Senator fifty five? There you go,
- 1:29Speaker 4: we're the same age. So basically the first thing you
- 1:33Speaker 4: do is start get on a Keto diet. It's really
- 1:36Speaker 4: easy to do, especially when you travel. Start getting into
- 1:40Speaker 4: Intermitte fasting, which will literally clears all the brain flog
- 1:45Speaker 4: you have and it gives you more energy. Believe it
- 1:48Speaker 4: or not. Eating less gives you more energy. And then
- 1:52Speaker 4: just just get on a modest workout program.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:55Speaker 4: You know, when you travel and you stay at hotels,
- 1:58Speaker 4: always have a gym. What I would what I would
- 2:00Speaker 4: advise you to do is find a trainer that you
- 2:03Speaker 4: can travel with. There's two things I don't go anywhere
- 2:05Speaker 4: without my trainer and my cold plunge. I have my
- 2:07Speaker 4: cold plunge everywhere.
- 2:10Speaker 1: And how big is you're playing. I'm just curious asking
- 2:12Speaker 1: for a friend.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Well, no, So what I do is if we go
- 2:15Speaker 4: to the UFC, it goes on trucks that that that
- 2:18Speaker 4: get there before we do. But I have all the
- 2:20Speaker 4: hotels dialed in and they figure out a local coal
- 2:23Speaker 4: plunge to put inside my hotel room.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Have you ever done a cold punch? Have you ever
- 2:28Speaker 1: done this?
- 2:29Speaker 3: I have to admit I'm not a big fan of cold.
- 2:32Speaker 3: I like, but I'm not a big colt. So you
- 2:36Speaker 3: bring a cold plunge like literally with you.
- 2:39Speaker 4: Yeah. So for UFC events, we have the col plunge
- 2:41Speaker 4: on the truck. But when I travel, like I'll be
- 2:43Speaker 4: in London all next week, I'll have a cold plunge
- 2:46Speaker 4: in my room all next week, and I do it
- 2:49Speaker 4: every day. It's like for some people who have to
- 2:51Speaker 4: get up and have coffee, that's like my coffee. And
- 2:53Speaker 4: the great thing about cold in the morning.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Typically as soon as you.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Get up it only takes three minutes, but when you
- 2:59Speaker 4: first start doing it, it takes like thirty three minutes
- 3:01Speaker 4: because you stare at it for thirty minutes and you
- 3:04Speaker 4: start telling yourself it would have been over if I
- 3:06Speaker 4: just would have done it already.
- 3:07Speaker 1: But in other words, it's a form of torture, is
- 3:09Speaker 1: what you're telling us.
- 3:10Speaker 2: They forced us to do it back in college after
- 3:13Speaker 2: training sessions, and I've never done it since college. Center
- 3:16Speaker 2: it's I hate it. I just want to be very clear.
- 3:18Speaker 2: I hate the fact data that you travel with. It
- 3:21Speaker 2: is insane to me.
- 3:22Speaker 1: I love this.
- 3:23Speaker 3: So how cold do you do? How cold do you
- 3:25Speaker 3: have the.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Water fifty degrees? You do three minutes at fifty degrees
- 3:29Speaker 4: And actually it's a form of accomplishment, like as soon
- 3:32Speaker 4: as you finish that in the morning, you've already accomplished
- 3:34Speaker 4: something that most people will not that day. But how
- 3:38Speaker 4: it makes you feel the rest of the day is
- 3:41Speaker 4: absolutely addicting.
- 3:43Speaker 3: So what are the benefits? What does it do for you?
- 3:45Speaker 4: It gets rid of the inflammation in your body. And
- 3:47Speaker 4: at fifty five years old, doing all the traveling, you're
- 3:50Speaker 4: doing stress this, that, and it gets rid of the inflammation.
- 3:54Speaker 4: And there's nothing better than after you fly somewhere getting
- 3:58Speaker 4: into a cold plunge for three minutes.
- 3:59Speaker 2: It's the So after you fly, it just just reset
- 4:03Speaker 2: you or what.
- 4:04Speaker 4: And it gets rid of all the inflammation in your body.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Now you feel puffy. I mean, if you take your
- 4:08Speaker 4: shoes off on a flight, when you land, putting your
- 4:10Speaker 4: shoes back on, your shoes are tighter. Everything's gets rid
- 4:12Speaker 4: of all of that.
- 4:14Speaker 3: And so so you do keto, are you doing mostly meat?
- 4:18Speaker 3: You're doing veggies too, like like like what are you
- 4:20Speaker 3: put in the diet? No?
- 4:21Speaker 4: So in keto, what you try to do is you
- 4:23Speaker 4: try to limit the only fruit. You can eat berries,
- 4:25Speaker 4: any any kind of berry. But yeah, you eat, you
- 4:28Speaker 4: eat meat, steaks, chicken, you can eat fish. You know,
- 4:32Speaker 4: there's tons of things you can eat. You just can't
- 4:34Speaker 4: have any of the sides. You stay away from all
- 4:36Speaker 4: the sides.
- 4:37Speaker 2: It's an average day of meals for you, like a
- 4:39Speaker 2: normal day, not eating out nice meal at night like
- 4:42Speaker 2: you know VIP event type thing.
- 4:44Speaker 4: It's four o'clock here, I haven't eaten yet, so I eat.
- 4:46Speaker 4: I go all day without eating, and then.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I'll man fasting like a whole day.
- 4:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I eat dinner at night.
- 4:53Speaker 3: So is that your typical intermittent fast is that you
- 4:55Speaker 3: just skip breakfast at lunch?
- 4:57Speaker 4: Yep, exactly.
- 4:58Speaker 3: And even who does that also has the same schedule
- 5:01Speaker 3: as herschel walker.
- 5:02Speaker 4: Yeah, makes sense.
- 5:04Speaker 3: And so what I was campaigning in Georgia with Herschel,
- 5:07Speaker 3: he just he doesn't do lunch, doesn't do breakfast. And
- 5:09Speaker 3: then and you know Herschel's in great shape, obviously one
- 5:12Speaker 3: of the greatest athletes ever live. But it's interesting he
- 5:14Speaker 3: does the skip breakfast lunch too.
- 5:17Speaker 4: And here's the thing that's interesting is, uh, how it
- 5:21Speaker 4: clears your mind and how much sharper you are. Brain
- 5:25Speaker 4: fog is gone, and it's it's pretty amazing. I'm telling you,
- 5:28Speaker 4: I gotta I gotta figure out. I'm gonna try to
- 5:30Speaker 4: figure out how to get you dialed in and get
- 5:32Speaker 4: some people around you. Once I get you started, you
- 5:36Speaker 4: will become addicted to the feeling of it and you'll
- 5:39Speaker 4: rip the weight off like this, all right, I'm gonna
- 5:41Speaker 4: help you accomplish this this year.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Seven And now you've credited the biologist Gary Breca with
- 5:47Speaker 3: helping you on this. And actually my mom who's ninety one,
- 5:50Speaker 3: told me this, and she she wanted me to ask you, like,
- 5:54Speaker 3: like what Gary Breckatt did with it was helpful and
- 5:56Speaker 3: what you found beneficial.
- 5:59Speaker 4: The thing is would be the Gary. I'm all in
- 6:01Speaker 4: on the Gary brecking things. So I do the stuff.
- 6:03Speaker 4: So I used to be on a bunch of pills
- 6:04Speaker 4: that doctors were giving me for blood pressure and a
- 6:08Speaker 4: bunch of other stuff that I really didn't need to
- 6:10Speaker 4: be on for years. So now all I take are supplements.
- 6:14Speaker 4: So I said how many?
- 6:15Speaker 1: How many? And what do you take?
- 6:17Speaker 4: So I was on a bunch of different pills every
- 6:19Speaker 4: day and I felt horrible, uh, tired, lethargic, and I
- 6:25Speaker 4: real bad. Sleep at me is snoring. You know, when
- 6:28Speaker 4: you go to the doctor, they tell you to put
- 6:29Speaker 4: a seapap mask on, which I could never sleep with.
- 6:33Speaker 4: It never worked for me. Now I don't have any
- 6:35Speaker 4: of that. I don't have to sleep at me. I
- 6:37Speaker 4: don't snore anymore, and I'm off all meds only on supplements.
- 6:40Speaker 4: And I couldn't tell you right here the supplements that
- 6:43Speaker 4: I'm on. But uh, first of all, what they would
- 6:47Speaker 4: do is I'm gonna have I'm going to reach out
- 6:49Speaker 4: to the Senator and I'm gonna have them come to
- 6:51Speaker 4: a blood test on you, and then they'll they'll go
- 6:54Speaker 4: through and tell you everything that you need to be
- 6:57Speaker 4: on based on your blood work. And then and then
- 7:01Speaker 4: once you get that and they give you a plan
- 7:04Speaker 4: and he told me if you can, if you give
- 7:07Speaker 4: me twelve weeks, I'll change your whole life. It doesn't
- 7:10Speaker 4: take twelve weeks, it takes like three. After like three weeks,
- 7:14Speaker 4: you start feeling better, and you start feeling and you
- 7:16Speaker 4: start to become really addicted to it.
- 7:19Speaker 2: All right, let me ask you an inter minute fasting
- 7:21Speaker 2: when you go all day like traditionally, if center Cruise
- 7:24Speaker 2: and I didn't eat today, I'd get that.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I would say, call it brain frog.
- 7:28Speaker 2: I'd get that kind of the shake saying where I
- 7:30Speaker 2: need something like the idea of not eating and then
- 7:35Speaker 2: having like more focus. Is there a transition period there,
- 7:40Speaker 2: because that to me seems like I'm gonna have a headache,
- 7:42Speaker 2: I'm gonna feel terrible if I don't eat all day.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Yeah. So what you need to do is hydrate. So
- 7:46Speaker 4: when you don't eat, you know, I do this thing
- 7:49Speaker 4: called the seventy two hour water fast where all you
- 7:51Speaker 4: drink are water and electrolytes for seventy two hours.
- 7:55Speaker 3: And how often do you do that?
- 7:59Speaker 4: You do it like three times a year. I do
- 8:01Speaker 4: it three times a year.
- 8:02Speaker 3: It's the advantage you're doing that.
- 8:05Speaker 4: First of all, your body starts to eat up all
- 8:08Speaker 4: the dead cells, cancer cells, and literally all the things
- 8:13Speaker 4: that are really bad for you. This thing that's why
- 8:17Speaker 4: you do it two or three times a year. Your
- 8:19Speaker 4: body starts to eat up all the dead and bad cells. Now,
- 8:22Speaker 4: I'm not a religious person, and I would you know,
- 8:25Speaker 4: I don't even know if I consider myself spiritual. I
- 8:28Speaker 4: don't even know how to explain any of that. The
- 8:30Speaker 4: first time I ever did the seventy two hour fast,
- 8:33Speaker 4: I started. When I started to get up around sixty
- 8:35Speaker 4: five hours, I was like, ah, this is what people
- 8:39Speaker 4: talk about spiritual. You know, you're starting to have this
- 8:42Speaker 4: really euphoric, weird feeling, but you start to get more
- 8:45Speaker 4: energy and just this unbelievable clarity that you get when
- 8:51Speaker 4: you fast. It really is fascinating.
- 8:53Speaker 3: And yes, so I've done forty eight hours, but I've
- 8:55Speaker 3: not done seventy two.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Okay? And did you drink a lot of water and
- 8:58Speaker 4: electrolytes while you were doing it?
- 9:00Speaker 3: It wasn't do an electro like just water.
- 9:02Speaker 4: So I'm gonna senator up. When we get done, I'm
- 9:05Speaker 4: gonna get you. I'm gonna get you dialed in, all right, Sata?
- 9:09Speaker 4: What do I want to do?
- 9:09Speaker 1: Man?
- 9:10Speaker 2: And you look way too excited right now. I'm going
- 9:12Speaker 2: to enjoy this, I think more than he is. Are
- 9:13Speaker 2: we gonna get him cold plunging, We're gonna get him
- 9:15Speaker 2: not eating an electro like I think this is amazing
- 9:18Speaker 2: and a blood test.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Well, let me know, but Ben, let me let me
- 9:22Speaker 3: be clear that the fasting is more likely to happen
- 9:24Speaker 3: than the cold plunge. I still have some persuasion on
- 9:27Speaker 3: the cold plunch side.
- 9:28Speaker 4: Ben. Let me be clear. He's going to start out
- 9:31Speaker 4: doing the you know, you get him on the way,
- 9:33Speaker 4: you know, on the road to doing this, and he
- 9:36Speaker 4: will get into cold plunging, and he will get into
- 9:39Speaker 4: doing the sauna. You become once you go in and
- 9:43Speaker 4: you start to feel, especially at our age. Man, when
- 9:45Speaker 4: you hit fifty, I mean, it's a it's a whole
- 9:49Speaker 4: nother ballgame when you hit fifty years old. People used
- 9:51Speaker 4: to tell me that, and I used to go, ah,
- 9:53Speaker 4: you know, I'll be fine, But you really do feel
- 9:56Speaker 4: a lot different when you're fifty years old.
- 9:58Speaker 3: And then above, he's for your work for your workout
- 10:02Speaker 3: or are you lifting? Are you doing cardio? What are
- 10:04Speaker 3: you doing for your workout?
- 10:05Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 10:05Speaker 4: So I don't lift heavy weights anymore. I lift lightweights
- 10:09Speaker 4: for rep and for cardio, I walk on the treadmill.
- 10:12Speaker 4: I mean, it's all basic, simple stuff, nothing crazy. You
- 10:15Speaker 4: don't have to get into all this crazy working out
- 10:17Speaker 4: stuff at fifty five years old. Get in there, you
- 10:20Speaker 4: know you do a full body workout and do some cardio.
- 10:24Speaker 2: I got to ask you a question, can you buy
- 10:26Speaker 2: ROE bitcoin in your retirement account? Well, if not, it's
- 10:30Speaker 2: time to upgrade to bitcoin IRA. It's twenty twenty six
- 10:35Speaker 2: and cryptocurrency is where so many investors are going and diversify.
- 10:40Speaker 2: You can buy and sell bitcoin inside a tax advantage
- 10:44Speaker 2: IRA with bitcoin IRA, and that gives you more ways
- 10:48Speaker 2: to diversify and grow your retirement savings. Security is their

- 11:01Speaker 2: hundred and fifty million in digital asset insurance.
- 11:05Speaker 1: So what are you waiting for?
- 11:07Speaker 2: Get in the bitcoin game today and diversify your portfolio.
- 11:12Speaker 2: You actually talk to a real person eight six six
- 11:16Speaker 2: six seven nine six' eight seven one eight six six
- 11:21Speaker 2: six seven nine seven eight seven to one or bitcoin
- 11:26Speaker 2: ira dot com slash ben that's bitcoin ira dot com
- 11:30Speaker 2: slash ben to open a free account and earn up
- 11:33Speaker 2: to one thousand dollars. Bonus right, now how much weight
- 11:37Speaker 2: did you lose when you're on all the medications and
- 11:40Speaker 2: then you clearly made a life Tames LIKE i about
- 11:42Speaker 2: two what was it?
- 11:42Speaker 1: Center two years? AGO i?
- 11:44Speaker 2: STARTED i had three, boys AND i DECIDED i was
- 11:47Speaker 2: gonna lose. Weight i'm down like eighty something pounds it
- 11:50Speaker 2: AND i feel like a different human. Being WHEN i Started,
- 11:53Speaker 2: VERDICT i was at two ninety eight, almost and Now i'm,
- 11:55Speaker 2: like what?
- 11:56Speaker 4: Up?
- 11:56Speaker 2: TWO i think two oh nine somewhere in. There that's
- 11:58Speaker 2: incredible way for, you AND i feel. Different but when
- 12:01Speaker 2: you made this switch for, me it WAS I i was,
- 12:05Speaker 2: Like i'm Afraid i'm gonna, LIKE i don't want to
- 12:07Speaker 2: not be around for my. Kids that was my number one.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Thing and the doctor was very, query, like, hey you're
- 12:11Speaker 2: gonna have a stroker a heart. Attack you're gonna this
- 12:13Speaker 2: is gonna end badly for. You you better get your
- 12:15Speaker 2: you know what together and if you, don't it's gonna be.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Bad like was there something that triggered with you that you're,
- 12:20Speaker 2: like all, RIGHT i gotta get it. Together what was
- 12:21Speaker 2: the main thing and how much of you lost.
- 12:24Speaker 4: So WHEN i, STARTED i was like two hundred and thirty,
- 12:26Speaker 4: five two thirty. SIX i got as low as one
- 12:29Speaker 4: ninety one at one. Point but the thing with me
- 12:33Speaker 4: was it was more about. HEALTH i felt terrible AND
- 12:36Speaker 4: i was taking, pills these garbage pills that not only
- 12:39Speaker 4: did they not do WHAT i needed them to, do
- 12:42Speaker 4: they had tons of side effects and you, know a
- 12:46Speaker 4: Lot LIKE i, said if you have ever had sleep
- 12:48Speaker 4: at MEA i, mean and if you snore really, bad
- 12:51Speaker 4: it's it's it's. Horrible it's a horrible. Experience i'd wake
- 12:54Speaker 4: up every night choking and coughing and throwing up. Too.
- 12:58Speaker 4: Wow and you know WHAT i found was every TIME
- 13:02Speaker 4: i went to a, doctor nobody could cure. Anything there's
- 13:06Speaker 4: always take this pill or LIKE i did the sleep
- 13:09Speaker 4: study and they put the seapap mask on your, face right.
- 13:12Speaker 4: Yep and WHEN i talk About Gary, breca it's, like you,
- 13:16Speaker 4: know people, like, oh that's, garbage that this is that you,
- 13:19Speaker 4: Know i've seen this guy help so many.
- 13:20Speaker 3: People so he do what does he do that's? Helpful
- 13:23Speaker 3: like what's?
- 13:24Speaker 4: Specific so he goes in and does a blood test on,
- 13:27Speaker 4: you gene test and he looks at at this is
- 13:31Speaker 4: WHAT i loved about, him and this is really where he.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Got just for the, RECORD i used to look at
- 13:35Speaker 4: this as, like you, know which doctor. STUFF i never
- 13:38Speaker 4: believed in any of this, stuff and then AFTER covid
- 13:41Speaker 4: that Now i'm anti doctor, man and there are certain.
- 13:45Speaker 4: Things IF i break my, Arm i'm going to a,
- 13:48Speaker 4: doctor Right IF i want to work on my general,
- 13:50Speaker 4: health definitely not talking to a doctor about. That and
- 13:54Speaker 4: Basically gary goes, in finds out what's wrong with, you
- 13:57Speaker 4: and he told me you shouldn't be on these. Pills
- 13:59Speaker 4: you should have never been on blood. Pressure he got
- 14:01Speaker 4: my sister off blood pressure medicine, too AND i had
- 14:05Speaker 4: been taking that stuff for like fifteen twenty. Years and
- 14:09Speaker 4: he gets you on these different supplements and you, know
- 14:15Speaker 4: pep tides are big right now among some. Peptides and
- 14:19Speaker 4: in three weeks when you do, it this GUY i
- 14:21Speaker 4: got on a keto, diet started taking the, supplements you,
- 14:25Speaker 4: know regular. Exercise in three, WEEKS i felt like a different,
- 14:28Speaker 4: person and all the people that were around me started
- 14:31Speaker 4: to notice the difference in. Me AND i wouldn't be
- 14:33Speaker 4: able to run at the LEVEL i run at right
- 14:35Speaker 4: now IF i hadn't Met Gary. Brecker so this guy
- 14:39Speaker 4: completely changed my.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Life all r, right let's go. Back that is. Awesome
- 14:43Speaker 3: let's go back and just just just tell your. Story
- 14:47Speaker 3: so you grew Up massachusetts And. Nevada right when did
- 14:52Speaker 3: you first get interested in boxing and mixed martial arts
- 14:55Speaker 3: and what was it that attracted you to?
- 14:56Speaker 4: It, well it's that. Thing it's like when you're a.
- 14:59Speaker 4: Kid some, people you, know end up being thirty years
- 15:02Speaker 4: old and not finding out what it is they want
- 15:04Speaker 4: to do for the rest of their. LIFE i was
- 15:06Speaker 4: very lucky in the fact THAT i knew WHEN i
- 15:07Speaker 4: was a kid THAT i wanted to be in the fight.
- 15:10Speaker 4: Business what that meant at that, TIME i didn't, know
- 15:13Speaker 4: BUT i knew that's WHAT i wanted to. Do SO
- 15:16Speaker 4: i was nineteen years, OLD i lived In boston AND
- 15:19Speaker 4: i worked at The Boston Harbor hotel AND i was
- 15:22Speaker 4: a belman there And i'm, LIKE i did not want
- 15:25Speaker 4: to do this for the rest of my. LIFE i
- 15:27Speaker 4: literally walked out the door and. Quit and there was
- 15:30Speaker 4: this guy Named Peter welsh From South boston who was
- 15:32Speaker 4: like a fighting, legend and he's a guy you didn't
- 15:36Speaker 4: go looking, for AND i went looking for, him AND
- 15:39Speaker 4: i found him AND i, said, LISTEN i know this sounds,
- 15:44Speaker 4: crazy BUT i want to learn everything about the fight
- 15:45Speaker 4: game from. You i'll work for you for. Free took
- 15:48Speaker 4: me in and this guy was basically my college professor
- 15:52Speaker 4: for the next four.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Years and so you started with boxing BEFORE, mma, right.
- 15:57Speaker 4: And, yeah MMA mma didn't even really exist at that.
- 16:01Speaker 4: Time while that was with, him you, know there was
- 16:04Speaker 4: this talk about this fight that was going to happen
- 16:06Speaker 4: that was no rules and it could be any, style
- 16:09Speaker 4: and we watched it on pay per, view you, know
- 16:11Speaker 4: and it was shocking and, crazy BUT i NEVER i
- 16:14Speaker 4: didn't get into.
- 16:14Speaker 3: It so, Uh, now like when you were a, kid
- 16:18Speaker 3: let's say you're in junior. High were you a kid
- 16:19Speaker 3: that got in a lot of? FIGHTS i, mean was
- 16:21Speaker 3: it like a rough upbringing or how what drew you
- 16:24Speaker 3: to the world of Fighting.
- 16:25Speaker 4: That wasn't really like. That my uncles at the time
- 16:27Speaker 4: were really uh into, boxing and and you, know when
- 16:31Speaker 4: the big fights were on ABC's Wild Wild sports or
- 16:34Speaker 4: whatever it would, be there was always this energy and
- 16:36Speaker 4: buzz in the house THAT i became you know THAT
- 16:39Speaker 4: i fell in love with, yeah and uh AND i
- 16:43Speaker 4: just became a fight. Fan you. Know it's no different
- 16:45Speaker 4: than how does a kid become a baseball fan or
- 16:48Speaker 4: a fan of. Football it's just mine was.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Fighting, now did you do other? Sports you play football or? Basketball? Baseball?
- 16:54Speaker 4: NOPE i was always just into. Fighting, Yep, OKAY i
- 16:57Speaker 4: MEAN i played at the level that your parents put you,
- 17:00Speaker 4: in and you you know. YOU i did, play BUT
- 17:04Speaker 4: i was never into it or anything like.
- 17:06Speaker 3: That all right, Now NOW i read something online THAT
- 17:09Speaker 3: i thought was, fascinating which, is you were In boston
- 17:12Speaker 3: and you decided to Leave boston because the Mobster Whitey
- 17:17Speaker 3: bulger threatened you and and that and that's what took
- 17:20Speaker 3: you To. Vegas you got to tell us that, story
- 17:22Speaker 3: because that's a wild.
- 17:23Speaker 4: Story he didn't threaten. Me his guys. Did his guys
- 17:26Speaker 4: wanted wanted money from, me and, uh you know THAT
- 17:30Speaker 4: i obviously didn't know. Them and uh, Yeah SO i
- 17:33Speaker 4: got a call at my house one day and they're,
- 17:35Speaker 4: like you gotta till tomorrow to pay, it and did
- 17:38Speaker 4: you owe him?
- 17:38Speaker 3: Money had you borrowed money or like what put you
- 17:40Speaker 3: in that. SITUATION i didn't even know those. Guys you
- 17:43Speaker 3: know those are they were just shaking you.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Down and they had approached me one day at at
- 17:53Speaker 4: one of the fitness, clubs and you know the first
- 17:55Speaker 4: thing you said to me is do you know WHO i?
- 17:57Speaker 4: Am AND i didn't know who he. Was and then
- 17:59Speaker 4: as he starts to talk AND i figured out who he,
- 18:01Speaker 4: was and, Yeah so they literally called me. Up they,
- 18:05Speaker 4: said you got till tomorrow to pay. US i, SAID
- 18:07Speaker 4: i don't have the money fifteen hundred two five hundred
- 18:11Speaker 4: bucks and, alohol which was like twenty five thousand to
- 18:15Speaker 4: me back.
- 18:15Speaker 3: Then, Yes and, uh now were they trying to press
- 18:18Speaker 3: you to like fixed? FIGHTS i, mean was that they
- 18:21Speaker 3: just wanted money from?
- 18:22Speaker 4: You. YEAH i wasn't involved in any of that stuff
- 18:25Speaker 4: at that. Time we were training. Fighters but, yeah, No
- 18:29Speaker 4: so they called me one day and they, said you
- 18:31Speaker 4: got till. TOMORROW i, said or what he? Said are
- 18:35Speaker 4: you going to find? Out AND i literally hung up the,
- 18:37Speaker 4: phone Called delta and flew To vegas the next.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Day All, right did you ever see the Movie That
- 18:42Speaker 3: departed Where Jack Nick gordon Plays White Bull? Joey what'd
- 18:45Speaker 3: you think of the as A boston? Guy what do
- 18:48Speaker 3: you think of the movie that? Portrayal?
- 18:49Speaker 4: WELL i lived there during that whole, era which, WAS
- 18:52Speaker 4: i mean, crazy the things THAT i saw and the
- 18:55Speaker 4: things that, Whatever BUT i never had any interaction or
- 18:59Speaker 4: involvement with those those guys THAT i knew of. Anyway you,
- 19:01Speaker 4: know you just heard about him and things like. That
- 19:07Speaker 4: but then to come to find out, that you, know
- 19:09Speaker 4: they have this thing back That South boston was crazy
- 19:12Speaker 4: at that, time like you could shoot. SOMEBODY i, mean
- 19:15Speaker 4: guys would get beat up and all this, stuff and
- 19:17Speaker 4: nobody would call the. Police you didn't call the, police
- 19:20Speaker 4: and you, know come to come to find out later
- 19:25Speaker 4: he was involved with you, know with THE, fbi and
- 19:28Speaker 4: if you did, call he'd know you.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Called having just come back From. ISRAEL i want to
- 19:32Speaker 2: paint you a. Picture it's, midnight sirens are blaring and
- 19:36Speaker 2: you have only seconds to grab your child and. Run
- 19:40Speaker 2: now imagine your. Elderly your legs don't work like they used.
- 19:43Speaker 2: To getting downstairs feels, impossible and after all of, that
- 19:47Speaker 2: you end up in a bomb shelter for, hours even,
- 19:50Speaker 2: days because you can't make the trek. Again this is
- 19:54Speaker 2: what's happening Across. Israel his Operation Epic fury. Continues children
- 19:59Speaker 2: are being traumat families are just, exhausted and homes have been.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Destroyed and that's why The International fellowship Of christians And
- 20:07Speaker 2: jews is there on the, ground bringing, food emergency, equipment
- 20:12Speaker 2: care for those, children and help for the, elderly and
- 20:16Speaker 2: supplying the bomb shelters and medical centers for critically needed.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Essentials if you've ever wondered what it looks like to
- 20:23Speaker 2: stand For israel and stand for good against, evil this
- 20:26Speaker 2: is it and that's Why i'm asking to now please,
- 20:29Speaker 2: act give forty five dollars right now to rush life
- 20:33Speaker 2: saving essentials to the vulnerables under. Fire you can also

- 20:46Speaker 2: and make a real difference online AT ifcj dot.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Org THAT'S ifcj dot.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Org now you come To vegas and you get an
- 20:56Speaker 3: opportunity to buy THE. Ufc you go to The Fertida,
- 21:01Speaker 3: brothers WHO i guess you do from school In. Vegas
- 21:04Speaker 3: but at the time there wasn't much to THE ufc
- 21:06Speaker 3: when you were buying. It tell us about how that
- 21:08Speaker 3: came to.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Pass. Well at the, TIME i was representing a couple
- 21:12Speaker 4: of guys who fought in THE ufc and something that
- 21:15Speaker 4: wanted to AND i got into a contract negotiation with
- 21:19Speaker 4: the old owner of THE, ufc and then finally he
- 21:21Speaker 4: flipped out there on the call and, said you know,
- 21:23Speaker 4: what there is no more. MONEY i don't even know
- 21:25Speaker 4: IF i have enough money to put on the next.
- 21:27Speaker 4: Event SO i was, like when we hung up the,
- 21:30Speaker 4: PHONE i was, like holy, shit you, know this thing's
- 21:33Speaker 4: going out of. Business SO i called The fertida brothers
- 21:36Speaker 4: AND i, said, HEY i just got off the phone
- 21:39Speaker 4: With Bob, mywitz the. OWNER i think THE ufc is in.
- 21:42Speaker 4: TROUBLE i think they're going out of, business AND i
- 21:43Speaker 4: think we should buy. It SO i Connected Lorenzo fertida
- 21:47Speaker 4: And Bob myrowitz and they started. Talking then a couple months,
- 21:49Speaker 4: later we bought the company for two million.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Dollars what's it went went out just to put it in.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Respective what's it.
- 21:56Speaker 4: Worth it's in the. Billions it's IN tenny twelve fourteen.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Millions so they're happy with, you, right they're they're they're
- 22:02Speaker 2: they're glad you called that.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Day well it all worked.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Out they're all right now now and SAY i need some.
- 22:08Speaker 4: Money they're, like how much you need?
- 22:11Speaker 3: Now when you bought, IT i, mean they had not many,
- 22:15Speaker 3: assets they had the name that they had an. OCTAGON
- 22:19Speaker 3: i read that they'd actually sold the WEBSITE ufc to
- 22:22Speaker 3: to somebody, Else so, like how did You once you buy?
- 22:26Speaker 3: It then you're, Like, OKAY i got to build this
- 22:28Speaker 3: into something that that can generate real revenue and become
- 22:31Speaker 3: A i don't know if you were thinking of global
- 22:34Speaker 3: business at the, time but but how did you build
- 22:36Speaker 3: it from from where it was to to where it is?
- 22:38Speaker 4: Now, Yeah so when we bought, it we bought basically
- 22:41Speaker 4: those three letters in an old, wood an octagon because
- 22:44Speaker 4: everything else have been stripped out and, sold you, know
- 22:47Speaker 4: the merchandise, rights the video game, rights, uh the, uh
- 22:51Speaker 4: even even the you, know THE dvd business became very
- 22:55Speaker 4: big during our early days of THE. Ufc we didn't
- 22:57Speaker 4: even own the rights to. That And i'm just and
- 23:00Speaker 4: senator just to show you how much nobody believed in this.
- 23:03Speaker 4: Thing lionsgate owned the rights to all that, stuff and
- 23:08Speaker 4: we actually went back and bought the rights from, them
- 23:11Speaker 4: and you, know they were probably laughing at us when we.
- 23:13Speaker 4: Left they're like these, guys you, know they're thinking about
- 23:16Speaker 4: how that's going to look on their books over the
- 23:17Speaker 4: next two. Years but it really is a testament to
- 23:21Speaker 4: how nobody believed in this thing and nobody thought it would.
- 23:24Speaker 4: Work that they shold us the rights.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Back what was the secret to building it? Back was
- 23:28Speaker 2: it just pure, sweat, equity hard? Work what did you
- 23:32Speaker 2: see in the value when you guys went to buy
- 23:34Speaker 2: it and you, said, HEY i think two million is worth,
- 23:36Speaker 2: it we should do.
- 23:37Speaker 1: This was it because you.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Knew the fighters or did you understand the product and
- 23:40Speaker 2: how to market?
- 23:41Speaker 1: It?
- 23:41Speaker 2: Was what was different from what you did compared to
- 23:44Speaker 2: what the guys before we're.
- 23:44Speaker 4: Doing so The fatinas AND i started taking jiu jitsu
- 23:48Speaker 4: together and that's how we fell in love with the.
- 23:50Speaker 4: Sport we started to meet some of the, athletes and you,
- 23:53Speaker 4: know these athletes were different than. BOXERS a lot of
- 23:56Speaker 4: these guys graduated. College and if you look at Chucklate
- 24:00Speaker 4: l right with the mohawk and The chinese, fighting and
- 24:02Speaker 4: it looks like an axe, murderer but this guy actually
- 24:05Speaker 4: graduated from Cal poly with honors with an accounting. Degree
- 24:08Speaker 4: you know WHAT i?
- 24:09Speaker 3: Mean, Okay i've Met. CHUCK i didn't know that. That
- 24:12Speaker 3: that's very. Cool.
- 24:13Speaker 4: Yeah so they all had those kind of stories and
- 24:16Speaker 4: we were interested in it and said you know, what
- 24:18Speaker 4: if this was done the right, way we put on
- 24:20Speaker 4: a better live. Event PLUS i had always felt like
- 24:23Speaker 4: boxing was messed up and on the, decline we felt
- 24:26Speaker 4: like this, could this could be. Big And i've always
- 24:29Speaker 4: had this philosophy that fighting works, everywhere you know WHAT i.
- 24:33Speaker 4: Mean and when you think about The United, states we
- 24:36Speaker 4: have so many sports, HERE nba college, BASKETBALL nfl college,
- 24:41Speaker 4: football the list goes on and on and. On but
- 24:43Speaker 4: in a lot of these other countries they have soccer
- 24:45Speaker 4: and that's.
- 24:46Speaker 1: It, Yeah so it was huge In Latin america as.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Well, Absolutely and, LISTEN i don't care what color you,
- 24:53Speaker 4: are what country you come, from what language you. Speak
- 24:56Speaker 4: we're all human beings and fighting is in OUR. Dna
- 24:58Speaker 4: we get it and we like. It, yeah we love,
- 25:00Speaker 4: fighting and especially if somebody.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Was one of my one of my favorite quotes THAT
- 25:05Speaker 3: i use in politics in life is From Mike. Tyson
- 25:07Speaker 3: everyone has a plan until they get punched in the
- 25:09Speaker 3: face and and and that that's pretty. UNIVERSAL i.
- 25:13Speaker 4: Agree and when somebody looks like, you comes from where
- 25:16Speaker 4: you come, from you, know people rally around them when
- 25:19Speaker 4: they're looked at as the best in the. World and
- 25:22Speaker 4: the fight.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Game now now you said that you thought boxing was messed?
- 25:26Speaker 3: Up how so what what was messed up about?
- 25:28Speaker 4: BOXING a lot of things were messed. Up, well let's
- 25:31Speaker 4: let's go To Senator john. McCain, So Senator john McCain
- 25:35Speaker 4: was the one that got THE ufc basically shut down
- 25:38Speaker 4: and taken off. Cable AND i didn't know. That oh,
- 25:42Speaker 4: yeah oh. Yeah Senator john McCain went after THE ufc, hard.
- 25:45Speaker 4: Huh and you know he was a big fight. Fan
- 25:47Speaker 4: so what was happening at the, time is that was.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Doing it to help? Boxing was that?
- 25:52Speaker 4: His? No, no, no he was doing what he said
- 25:55Speaker 4: was the old owners were running from. Regulation they weren't
- 25:58Speaker 4: being regulated by The athletic commiss which you know obviously
- 26:02Speaker 4: he didn't. Like so he went after, him and we
- 26:05Speaker 4: did the exact opposite when we bought the. Company we
- 26:07Speaker 4: ran toward. Regulation and Before senator McCain had, passed you,
- 26:12Speaker 4: know he had complimented us and what we had done
- 26:15Speaker 4: with the, sport how we cleaned it, up and you
- 26:17Speaker 4: know he was actually he was on our. Side.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Huh, Okay, so so you acquire THE, ufc what is
- 26:27Speaker 3: the what are the biggest steps to making it? Succeed
- 26:30Speaker 3: is it making the live events really? Fun is IT tv?
- 26:33Speaker 3: Rights is it recruiting new? FIGHTERS i, mean you got
- 26:37Speaker 3: to do all, That but what were the biggest things that.
- 26:39Speaker 4: Mattered that's, it all of the, above exactly what you just.
- 26:42Speaker 4: Said first of, foremost go out and find the best
- 26:45Speaker 4: up and coming, talent people that you think could be
- 26:48Speaker 4: world champs or at least top five fighters in the.
- 26:51Speaker 4: World you have to go out and get a television.
- 26:53Speaker 4: Deal think about, This this thing was in such a bad.
- 26:55Speaker 4: Place it wasn't allowed on pay per. View you as
- 26:58Speaker 4: a grown, adult didn't have the right by porn was
- 27:01Speaker 4: on pay per, view but THE ufc was not. Allowed
- 27:04Speaker 4: and our goal was to get it onto free, television
- 27:06Speaker 4: which everybody thought was impossible at the. Time, plus when
- 27:10Speaker 4: you think about The United states back, then you, know
- 27:15Speaker 4: all the people that grew up in our era had
- 27:18Speaker 4: grew up in That John wayne era right Where John
- 27:20Speaker 4: wayne would hit a. Guy, yeah they fall, Down you
- 27:22Speaker 4: didn't jump on top of them and, start you, know
- 27:25Speaker 4: beating the shit out of. Him you would stand them
- 27:28Speaker 4: back up and hit him. Again, Right so.
- 27:30Speaker 1: An Own son And Big.
- 27:31Speaker 4: Jake, yeah the whole ground game thing was how how
- 27:35Speaker 4: we had to uh educate people on and how exciting
- 27:38Speaker 4: it could. Be and and THEN i.
- 27:41Speaker 2: To be, CLEAR ufc has like what was one of
- 27:44Speaker 2: y'all's biggest pay per VIEW i remember like looking at
- 27:47Speaker 2: the data one time several years, ago you guys had
- 27:50Speaker 2: some of the biggest pay per view events like ever.
- 27:52Speaker 4: Period, yeah, yeah we. Did and And i'll think about.
- 27:55Speaker 4: This it took us a long time to get Into
- 27:58Speaker 4: New york and you, know we were being blocked By
- 28:01Speaker 4: Sheldon silver In New york who was in with the
- 28:06Speaker 4: with the union keeping us out Of New york because
- 28:08Speaker 4: of The. Fertidas we are eight of the top ten
- 28:12Speaker 4: all time gates At Madison Square. Garden now in the
- 28:15Speaker 4: next two years we'll be ten of the top ten
- 28:18Speaker 4: all time gates because we go there Every november with
- 28:21Speaker 4: a big fight and we break you, know last year's. Record,
- 28:24Speaker 4: yeah and.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Right you were talking about looking for great. Fighters what
- 28:30Speaker 3: makes it great? Fighter what sets someone apart who's great
- 28:33Speaker 3: versus someone is just?
- 28:34Speaker 4: Good, well first of, all you have to have the.
- 28:37Speaker 4: Talent are you talented enough to get? There and our
- 28:41Speaker 4: matchup makers are are great at finding new. Talent we
- 28:44Speaker 4: actually have a show based on it's called The contender
- 28:47Speaker 4: series that we do every, year and it is all
- 28:49Speaker 4: the BEST.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Tv if people haven't watched, it it's.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Amazing it's LIKE i watch it and you get to
- 28:55Speaker 2: you feel like you get to know the, Guys you
- 28:57Speaker 2: feel like you get to know their, story you feel
- 28:59Speaker 2: like you're rooting for the you pick your favorite horse
- 29:01Speaker 2: and essence by the middle of the.
- 29:02Speaker 4: Season that's the ultimate. Fighter, yeah that's the ultimate. Fighter
- 29:05Speaker 4: that's what actually launched us and got us onto television
- 29:09Speaker 4: and started to build the. Business The contender series we
- 29:12Speaker 4: do once a. Year we signed the best unsigned fighters
- 29:16Speaker 4: in the. World they show up one night and they
- 29:18Speaker 4: fight right. THERE i don't care what your record, is
- 29:21Speaker 4: what you've done in the. Past what are you going
- 29:22Speaker 4: to show us right, here right now. Tonight and it's
- 29:26Speaker 4: the greatest fight show on, Television it really. Is so we.
- 29:29Speaker 3: Always do you have a view of best boxer? Ever
- 29:34Speaker 3: do you look at someone and, say all, right he
- 29:35Speaker 3: was the? Greatest?
- 29:37Speaker 4: YEAH i mean, WELL i mean we literally just had
- 29:40Speaker 4: this debate a couple of weeks, ago you, know And
- 29:44Speaker 4: ali is my all time favorite for many other, reasons
- 29:47Speaker 4: not just. Boxing you know, what that GUY i never
- 29:51Speaker 4: DID i never did.
- 29:53Speaker 3: All, right so is an? Expert tell me If ali
- 29:56Speaker 3: is in a ring With Mike, tyson both at their,
- 29:58Speaker 3: prime who.
- 29:58Speaker 4: Wins, well as an, EXPERT i have no, idea but, uh.
- 30:04Speaker 1: That's a good.
- 30:05Speaker 4: Answer it would be a great. One it's it's hard
- 30:08Speaker 4: to talk about that kind of stuff, too Because i'm
- 30:09Speaker 4: a fan of both, guys and both were so different
- 30:12Speaker 4: and both brought something different to the. SPORT i, mean
- 30:16Speaker 4: when you think about And Senator, cruz we're the same
- 30:19Speaker 4: Age That tyson era was. UNBELIEVABLE i mean everybody was
- 30:23Speaker 4: into boxing because Of Mike. Tyson it was.
- 30:26Speaker 3: Incredible well he hits so hard and so. FAST i
- 30:29Speaker 3: mean you'd have you'd have matches over in the in
- 30:32Speaker 3: the first round because he just knock everyone. OUT i,
- 30:35Speaker 3: mean it, was it Was i've never seen anything like.
- 30:38Speaker 4: It it's. True So ali brought something different during his
- 30:42Speaker 4: era And tyson brought something. Different but the boxing is
- 30:46Speaker 4: where it is today because both of them existed and
- 30:49Speaker 4: were in the. Sport there's no doubt about.
- 30:51Speaker 3: It all, right same question about MM a BEST mma
- 30:54Speaker 3: fighter Ever John?
- 30:56Speaker 4: Jones?
- 30:57Speaker 1: Really?
- 30:57Speaker 3: Okay?
- 30:58Speaker 4: Yeah why?
- 30:59Speaker 3: Yeah? Why?
- 31:00Speaker 4: Good, well one of the things that happened in boxing
- 31:03Speaker 4: is that you had all these different sanctioning organizations and
- 31:06Speaker 4: all anybody and they all had different champions and different,
- 31:09Speaker 4: guys and all anybody wanted to do was stay, undefeated
- 31:12Speaker 4: so they would fight lesser competition to make sure that
- 31:15Speaker 4: they got up to twenty five and. Zero and you,
- 31:18Speaker 4: know IN, mma you go through the, gaunt you fight
- 31:22Speaker 4: the best of the best all the way to the.
- 31:24Speaker 4: Top so if you end up with it with a
- 31:27Speaker 4: long career and you are still, undefeated you are the
- 31:30Speaker 4: greatest of all. Time and that Is John jones and
- 31:33Speaker 4: many other.
- 31:34Speaker 3: Reasons what about if If John jones is in the
- 31:37Speaker 3: ring With, ali who wins that? Fight that's that's kind
- 31:40Speaker 3: of a mascular, question, okay because it's the same. Question
- 31:43Speaker 3: you remember The rocky movie Where rocky Fights Hell cogan
- 31:46Speaker 3: and and the wrestler versus the Boxer.
- 31:50Speaker 4: John. Jones John jones would get, inside he'd grab him
- 31:54Speaker 4: and he would rip them.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Apart, yes have you ever seen a pro athlete not
- 31:59Speaker 2: in your business that you wish you could have taken
- 32:02Speaker 2: them and turned them INTO ufc Fighter if you had
- 32:05Speaker 2: to pay a celebrity.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Athlete any any, SPORT i don't. Care it's The.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Olympics but there's got to be talent data that you
- 32:12Speaker 2: look at and you're, like that guy should have done,
- 32:14Speaker 2: this and he would have been a.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Beast who would that?
- 32:16Speaker 4: Be? Yeah. ABSOLUTELY i mean if you look at a
- 32:18Speaker 4: lot of these guys that play not just in THE,
- 32:21Speaker 4: nfl but college football. Too you, know when you look
- 32:23Speaker 4: at how big and explosive and powerful these guys, are
- 32:27Speaker 4: had they been training and mixed martial arts their whole,
- 32:30Speaker 4: life they would be, unbelievable you. Know and you, know
- 32:33Speaker 4: he was a big fan and always said he wanted to.
- 32:35Speaker 4: Fight imagine if he trained when he was young a.
- 32:37Speaker 4: SHACK i, mean.
- 32:41Speaker 3: You KNOW i Met zek WHEN i was at THE
- 32:44Speaker 3: ufc fight with you In, miami and it was he
- 32:46Speaker 3: is a huge. MAN i, mean he's just a mountain
- 32:48Speaker 3: of a.
- 32:48Speaker 4: Man massive and one of my all time favorite. Killers you,
- 32:53Speaker 4: know you, know the, mentality the talent and all that.
- 32:56Speaker 4: Stuff it would have been interesting to see If Michael
- 32:58Speaker 4: jordan was you, know was a, uh we're TRAINING mma
- 33:02Speaker 4: his all. Life.
- 33:03Speaker 3: Yeah he certainly had an unbelievable heart of. COMPETITION i,
- 33:07Speaker 3: mean you knew at the end of every game he'd
- 33:09Speaker 3: have the ball and he'd be triple, teamed and it wouldn't.
- 33:11Speaker 3: Matter he was gonna score and he was gonna.
- 33:13Speaker 4: Win so, true and he had that chiller mindset and
- 33:16Speaker 4: he was probably the most clutch athlete of all.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Time, David there's a lot of people that listen to this.
- 33:21Speaker 2: Show they may not actually have known you FROM. Ufc
- 33:25Speaker 2: they may know you from seeing you next To Donald.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Trump talk about how you guys became. Friends was it
- 33:31Speaker 2: because you both were in this REALITY tv world and
- 33:34Speaker 2: exploded that you're both understood. Entertainment was that how you
- 33:37Speaker 2: guys originally kind of? Connected was? It you, know he's
- 33:40Speaker 2: The Apprentice GUY, Tv you're DOING UFC. Tv and then
- 33:43Speaker 2: how did you guys become? Friends it's clear that you
- 33:45Speaker 2: all are friends when you see each other. Together it's
- 33:47Speaker 2: not just, hey come to my, event like you guys
- 33:50Speaker 2: obviously really know each other like each.
- 33:52Speaker 4: Other, yeah, no it's not any of that at. All
- 33:54Speaker 4: it's he's a big fight. Fan he's been a fight
- 33:56Speaker 4: fan since he was. Young all of his you, know
- 33:59Speaker 4: the big fights for his. Casinos and he AND i
- 34:04Speaker 4: met when we did the first fight at the Taj.
- 34:07Speaker 4: Mahal he had think about. This THE ufc wasn't allowed
- 34:10Speaker 4: on pay per. View no arenas wanted, us no venues
- 34:14Speaker 4: wanted our. Events he actually had us at The TRUMP.
- 34:17Speaker 4: Taj mahall showed up for the first fight of the
- 34:20Speaker 4: night and stayed till the end both times that we
- 34:22Speaker 4: went to THE. Taj and when you think about The
- 34:24Speaker 4: trump brand was, HERE ufc brand was. Here but he got,
- 34:27Speaker 4: it he liked, it and then literally everything good that
- 34:31Speaker 4: ever happened to me in my career after. That he
- 34:34Speaker 4: was always the first one to call or reach out
- 34:37Speaker 4: in some, way and he was just always a, really
- 34:40Speaker 4: really good. Guy and then he reached out and asked
- 34:43Speaker 4: me to speak at The Republican convention for, Him and
- 34:46Speaker 4: everybody told me not to do, it don't do, it
- 34:49Speaker 4: don't do, it don't get into, politics and number one
- 34:52Speaker 4: and number, two he's never gonna. Win and the guy's
- 34:56Speaker 4: been a great friend of. Me SO i, said there's
- 34:57Speaker 4: no Way i'm not going to do it for. HIM
- 34:59Speaker 4: i really like this, Guy and, yes he AND i
- 35:01Speaker 4: are very close, friends AND i love the.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Guy sarah AND i were both there for that. Speech
- 35:07Speaker 2: what was the biggest shock for you in the reaction
- 35:09Speaker 2: from the. Public was it the? Animosity because you went
- 35:11Speaker 2: there and because you. Spoke what was the biggest surprise
- 35:14Speaker 2: from doing that speech at the?
- 35:15Speaker 4: CONVENTION i never get any negativity from. It, Ever it's
- 35:19Speaker 4: the exact. Opposite When i'm out in the streets AND
- 35:21Speaker 4: i go, places people always come up to me and
- 35:24Speaker 4: say thanks for thanks for. Staff i've never ever had
- 35:27Speaker 4: one person walk up to me or yell or say
- 35:29Speaker 4: something to me and anything About. Trump and here's the.
- 35:33Speaker 4: Thing WHEN i do, speak you don't ever hear me
- 35:36Speaker 4: talk negatively about the other. Side i'll tell you. Why
- 35:39Speaker 4: everything they say about this guy is a, lie and
- 35:43Speaker 4: he's not what they say he. Is he's actually a
- 35:46Speaker 4: good man who loves this, country cares about, people and you,
- 35:51Speaker 4: KNOW i just talk about who he is as a.
- 35:52Speaker 3: Person, yeah all. Right AT, ufc you Hired Joe. Rogan
- 35:58Speaker 3: when you hired him and he was just getting, started
- 36:01Speaker 3: did you did you have any inkling of what a
- 36:05Speaker 3: a major, figure what a really historic figure for free
- 36:09Speaker 3: speech he would. Become did you see that early?
- 36:11Speaker 4: On, no WHAT i SAW i was getting into that
- 36:14Speaker 4: when we were talking earlier about the ground. Game so
- 36:18Speaker 4: when people didn't understand the ground, game the greatest THING
- 36:20Speaker 4: i did was Bring joe rogan in and he started
- 36:23Speaker 4: walking people through what was happening while it was actually,
- 36:26Speaker 4: happening so that you would understand. It and when we grew,
- 36:30Speaker 4: up your parents would put you in karate or taekwondo
- 36:33Speaker 4: or something like.
- 36:33Speaker 3: THAT i did four years of. Judo there you.
- 36:36Speaker 4: Go this is the martial art now that, men women
- 36:39Speaker 4: and children are taking all over the. World and Then.
- 36:42Speaker 4: JOE i remember When joe told, me he, said, hey,
- 36:44Speaker 4: LISTEN i started a. Podcast would you come on my?
- 36:47Speaker 4: Podcast AND i was, like what the hell is a?
- 36:49Speaker 4: Podcast he's, like, well it's like, radio but.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Grant on that, person what the hell is a? Podcast?
- 36:55Speaker 3: YEAH i, said, wow, yeah really, big you gotta do
- 37:01Speaker 3: it with the. Accent so So lindsey was the very
- 37:04Speaker 3: first guest ever on this, podcast and we were meeting
- 37:07Speaker 3: in a basement studio IN dc and we had just
- 37:10Speaker 3: burst on and created the podcast and it's skyrocketed to
- 37:14Speaker 3: the number one rank podcasts in the. World and SO
- 37:16Speaker 3: i Asked lindsay to come, on and he comes down
- 37:18Speaker 3: to the basement and and his line he, goes what
- 37:22Speaker 3: in the hell is a? Podcast and we had this
- 37:27Speaker 3: this shag carpet from the seventies and and these same
- 37:31Speaker 3: big old, mics And lindsey looked around and we were
- 37:34Speaker 3: still number one at the, time and he, goes your number.
- 37:37Speaker 3: One who the hell is number? Two some guy at
- 37:40Speaker 3: a van by the.
- 37:41Speaker 4: River that's, funny all, right come, On. Buda EITHER i
- 37:47Speaker 4: didn't get, It and And rogan was definitely very, insightful you,
- 37:52Speaker 4: know and and starting his podcast and then and then
- 37:56Speaker 4: it just absolutely blew up and he, became you, know
- 38:00Speaker 4: the biggest thing in the.
- 38:00Speaker 3: World so why do you think he's so good at
- 38:03Speaker 3: the podcast?
- 38:04Speaker 4: Business he's really good At he's really good. At. Uh
- 38:08Speaker 4: first of, all he talks about a lot of interesting.
- 38:10Speaker 4: Things he's very, smart, obviously and, uh he's great at
- 38:14Speaker 4: speaking to. People he's he's a good, listener ask great,
- 38:19Speaker 4: questions and uh is always talking about interesting stuff with interesting.
- 38:24Speaker 4: People and he tried so hard not to get into.
- 38:26Speaker 4: Politics he tried so hard not to get into.
- 38:29Speaker 1: Politics everyone that tries to do that THAT i know always.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Fails but that's probably WHY i know them at that.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Point right, here here's Another rogan. Question, so So rogan
- 38:37Speaker 3: had been A Bernie sanders. Supporter, yeah then he became
- 38:41Speaker 3: A trump. Supporter he's now Criticizing trump on some. Front
- 38:45Speaker 3: what's your sense of sort of where where his politics.
- 38:48Speaker 4: Falls, well he was very. LIBERAL i mean he was very.
- 38:52Speaker 4: Liberal and then when the world started to lose its,
- 38:54Speaker 4: MIND i, mean if you're not a little, right, uh
- 39:00Speaker 4: you're not. Right. Uh SO i think that you, know
- 39:06Speaker 4: a lot of these guys who were who were who
- 39:09Speaker 4: were liberally at one, point including, ME i was, Too
- 39:12Speaker 4: so what common? Sense common? Sense, uh and a lot
- 39:17Speaker 4: of the other nutty stuff that was going. On, yeah,
- 39:23Speaker 4: listen taxes are never gonna go. Away, uh that's always
- 39:26Speaker 4: going to be a. Thing but you, Know, uh WHEN
- 39:30Speaker 4: i talked To joe about Having trump on the, podcast
- 39:34Speaker 4: his big thing was and AND i was the one
- 39:37Speaker 4: pushing the president to do these. Podcasts. Yep SO i
- 39:41Speaker 4: brought The Nelk boys On Air force one at the
- 39:43Speaker 4: end of his, uh at the end of his his first.
- 39:46Speaker 4: Term and you, know there's that conference room in the,
- 39:51Speaker 4: back and we're in the conference. Room and then finally
- 39:53Speaker 4: he called us up to his. Office and WHEN i
- 39:55Speaker 4: brought The Melk boys into his, OFFICE i could tell
- 39:58Speaker 4: by the look on his face because he was, like
- 40:00Speaker 4: what the hell are you? Doing? Right BECAUSE i Called
- 40:04Speaker 4: Jared kushner AND i, Said, JARED i want to bring
- 40:07Speaker 4: these kids to melf, boys you, know because he was
- 40:10Speaker 4: picking me up In vegas and we were flying To.
- 40:11Speaker 4: ARIZONA i, SAID i want to bring these kids with,
- 40:13Speaker 4: us and he, said, Yeah i'm not asking them that you,
- 40:16Speaker 4: Are SO i end up asking. Him we do, it
- 40:20Speaker 4: and to The president's, credit he gets done with this
- 40:24Speaker 4: rally In arizona and he sees this, Kid, steve who
- 40:27Speaker 4: is you, know a very famous, kid you, know in
- 40:29Speaker 4: the influencer, world and he was on the plane with
- 40:32Speaker 4: us and The president and he called them up on
- 40:34Speaker 4: stage And steve started doing THE ymca. Thing the crowd,
- 40:38Speaker 4: erupted and after that The president agreed to do their.
- 40:42Speaker 4: Podcast he did The Nelf boy podcast and the thing
- 40:46Speaker 4: went to something crazy like ten million views in four,
- 40:49Speaker 4: hours and YouTube pulled it. Down and that's when all
- 40:52Speaker 4: hell broke. Loose and then The president was all in on.
- 40:55Speaker 4: Podcasts and the REASON i love The president doing these
- 40:59Speaker 4: kids podcasts that are an, hour two hours or The
- 41:03Speaker 4: Joe rogan three hour podcast is because he is a real,
- 41:06Speaker 4: guy a guys guy who can sit there and. Talk
- 41:09Speaker 4: So joe, Said I'll i'll do. It But i'm gonna
- 41:14Speaker 4: Invite Kamala harris to do it. Too i'm Gonna i'm
- 41:17Speaker 4: gonna invite. Both, yeah she can't do a three hour.
- 41:20Speaker 4: Podcast now now she cannot. Do So trump shows, up
- 41:26Speaker 4: they go three and change, Right he's late for his
- 41:29Speaker 4: next rally and it's. Incredible so they reach out To
- 41:34Speaker 4: harris's team and they, said, well here's what you're gonna.
- 41:36Speaker 4: Do you're gonna have to fly TO La we'll give
- 41:39Speaker 4: you twenty minutes and we need to know all the
- 41:41Speaker 4: questions ahead of. Time And joe's, like that is not
- 41:43Speaker 4: WHAT i.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Do have you ever watched my, podcast you would know
- 41:46Speaker 1: that's not gonna.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Fly.
- 41:48Speaker 4: Yep and then now now everybody gets the podcast.

- 42:32Speaker 2: be a part of that, change and the light of
- 42:35Speaker 2: that compassion not only illuminates in, her it illuminates now in.

- 43:01Speaker 2: you like legacy question is as we get close to
- 43:05Speaker 2: wrapping things up. HERE i always love asking, people especially
- 43:08Speaker 2: right around your, age when you've, Done you've worked really,
- 43:11Speaker 2: hard you did something.
- 43:12Speaker 3: Incredible, Listen, skippy we don't need any of these lines
- 43:15Speaker 3: about your. Age you, know you know one of these
- 43:18Speaker 3: days you'll hit puberty and you'll get a little wisdom
- 43:20Speaker 3: like data and. Me but go ahead of the.
- 43:22Speaker 1: Question rip on the forty four year old right. NOW
- 43:25Speaker 1: i feel very good about. IT i feel great about.
- 43:27Speaker 2: It but when you there's a certain point where you look,
- 43:30Speaker 2: here like, RIGHT i worked, HARD i put my head,
- 43:32Speaker 2: DOWN i got a lot, done and then there's like all,
- 43:34Speaker 2: right what's?
- 43:35Speaker 1: Next do you have? Contentment what do you want the
- 43:38Speaker 1: next ten years to be of your? Career your?
- 43:41Speaker 2: Legacy what is? IT i, mean now you're at the
- 43:43Speaker 2: point where you can kind of pick and choose what you.
- 43:45Speaker 2: Do you built this, brand but what is it that
- 43:47Speaker 2: makes you wake up every day and what excites?
- 43:49Speaker 4: You, YEAH i mean the level that we've built this
- 43:53Speaker 4: company and what we've done with combat sports globally still
- 43:56Speaker 4: fires me. Up now we're getting into, boxing uh, know
- 44:00Speaker 4: we're adding on to The Ali, act WHICH i know
- 44:03Speaker 4: you know About senator and, uh you know we're Gonna
- 44:06Speaker 4: we're gonna we're gonna build boxing into a massive business again.
- 44:10Speaker 4: Globally so you, KNOW i still have goals for THE,
- 44:12Speaker 4: UFC i have goals for boxing and other things That i'm.
- 44:16Speaker 4: Into beyond, THAT i don't. KNOW i, Mean I'M i
- 44:20Speaker 4: got three great. Kids you, know WHEN i think about,
- 44:22Speaker 4: legacy my legacy is my, kids uh and their. Kids
- 44:26Speaker 4: and you, KNOW i don't think much ABOUT i love
- 44:28Speaker 4: WHAT i. Do it's what gets me up every. Day and,
- 44:31Speaker 4: Uh i'm still just as passionate now AS i was
- 44:34Speaker 4: about it twenty five years. Ago SO i don't. KNOW
- 44:37Speaker 4: i don't know the answer to that question is going
- 44:38Speaker 4: to get up and keep. Grinding love it.
- 44:41Speaker 3: All, Right different question. Movies i'm a big movie buff
- 44:46Speaker 3: for a boxing. Officionado what's the Best rocky?
- 44:51Speaker 4: Movie rocky, Three rocky?
- 44:55Speaker 3: Three all, right cluver, Lang, yeah.
- 44:57Speaker 4: Yep rocky. THREE i love. It me and The president
- 45:00Speaker 4: argue about this all the. Time what's his One rocky?
- 45:03Speaker 2: One what's the logic behind his what's his?
- 45:06Speaker 1: Argument what's?
- 45:07Speaker 3: Yours AND i might Be rocky, Too so that's, interesting that's.
- 45:10Speaker 4: Awesome And i'll tell you something else About Rocky it's
- 45:14Speaker 4: the only fight movie other than uh Like Raging, bull
- 45:17Speaker 4: which is a true. Story and you know THAT i
- 45:20Speaker 4: actually really, like like a fictional boxing, movie fight movie
- 45:24Speaker 4: THAT i actually. Like and we can actually debate as.
- 45:27Speaker 4: Men what's your favorite, one, two, three or? Four once
- 45:30Speaker 4: you get past, four you.
- 45:31Speaker 3: Lose, yeah it was pretty awesome, too was, LIKE i thank.
- 45:35Speaker 3: You you, Know i've In. Draga if he, dies he,
- 45:38Speaker 3: dies so.
- 45:41Speaker 4: Why?
- 45:41Speaker 2: Right so make your argument on why yours is number?
- 45:44Speaker 2: One and what's the president's argument on?
- 45:46Speaker 1: One?
- 45:46Speaker 4: WELL i loved that In rocky, three you, know he
- 45:50Speaker 4: he he had had all this success and And, uh you,
- 45:53Speaker 4: know then you have Clever land who's hungry coming, up
- 45:56Speaker 4: And mick is trying to avoid him because he thinks
- 45:59Speaker 4: he's gonna. Murder and, yeah you, KNOW i JUST i loved.
- 46:02Speaker 4: EVERYTHING i thought mister t absolutely murdered that role and
- 46:07Speaker 4: and could not have been better in. It and, UH
- 46:10Speaker 4: i don't, KNOW i just that's The that's the one
- 46:12Speaker 4: out of the three that hit me the. Most they're all.
- 46:14Speaker 4: Great one's, great two's. Great four is.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Great why Did trump say number? One what was his
- 46:20Speaker 1: argument on number one being the?
- 46:21Speaker 4: BEST i think because if you didn't, see you, Know
- 46:26Speaker 4: rocky one, happened and then all the other ones, by
- 46:29Speaker 4: you didn't see a place where actually the guy who
- 46:31Speaker 4: is the hero of the movie is gonna, lose uh the,
- 46:35Speaker 4: fight you, know and obviously the major success the movie
- 46:40Speaker 4: And stallone had coming out of, that and and the
- 46:43Speaker 4: story of stallone and and how he built the. MOVIE
- 46:46Speaker 4: i don't, KNOW i guess that's. It rocky one is.
- 46:48Speaker 4: Great i'm not Diminishing rocky. ONE i just Think rocky
- 46:51Speaker 4: three is.
- 46:51Speaker 3: BETTER i gotta say. Two, WELL i gotta say it
- 46:57Speaker 3: BECAUSE i like. Winning rocky one is pretty. Awesome but
- 47:00Speaker 3: then he, loses And rocky two he comes, back he
- 47:03Speaker 3: gets it. Done it's three is awesome, Too SO i
- 47:06Speaker 3: mean it's a hard but Like rocky two is when
- 47:08Speaker 3: he like finishes the job and gets it. Done. Uh
- 47:12Speaker 3: but you, KNOW i got to, say one of the
- 47:14Speaker 3: things that's fun about the Whole rocky you, know and
- 47:17Speaker 3: stallone obviously created the character and the Whole rocky saga

- 47:44Speaker 3: Know Donald trump used to say he no president has
- 47:47Speaker 3: been as persecuted as he, Was AND i got to
- 47:49Speaker 3: say a few years, AGO i wasn't sure that was.
- 47:50Speaker 3: True and then the indictments come and they try to
- 47:54Speaker 3: bankrupt him and bankrupt his, kids and it is now clearly.
- 47:57Speaker 3: True it's unequivocally and there are very few human beings
- 48:02Speaker 3: who could have gone through What trump went. Through when
- 48:05Speaker 3: The democrats were trying to do everything they could to
- 48:08Speaker 3: stop his, reelection and it reminds me Of Rocky balboa
