Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: All right, here's your speaker update for you. McCarthy has
- 0:06Speaker 1: lost his tenth round. Negotiators are now pushing for a
- 0:11Speaker 1: deal tonight to show progress, and depending on when you
- 0:17Speaker 1: hear this on the podcast, tonight is Thursday evening, there
- 0:21Speaker 1: is now pressure for him to also bow out or
- 0:24Speaker 1: possibly do a deal across the aisle. The tenth vote
- 0:32Speaker 1: on the speaker ballot this tenth defeat. Jefferies had two twelve,
- 0:37Speaker 1: McCarthy got two hundred thirteen went for Representative Donald's, seven
- 0:43Speaker 1: for Representative Hearn and one person voted present. So you
- 0:49Speaker 1: do those numbers, that's twenty one that are outside of
- 0:53Speaker 1: McCarthy and Jeffries. What this means is the longest race
- 0:58Speaker 1: in our history in the last one hundred and sixty
- 1:01Speaker 1: plus years. This is significant what we are witnessing right now.
- 1:08Speaker 1: This is a question that is gonna be asked. I
- 1:13Speaker 1: think moving forward, is is there a pathway? I would
- 1:17Speaker 1: argue at this point, not just for McCarthy, but for
- 1:20Speaker 1: anyone if he can't get it done. And Donald Trump
- 1:24Speaker 1: coming in talking to these you know, many of these
- 1:28Speaker 1: twenty are maga people right there. They're they've been very
- 1:32Speaker 1: much created and morphed into a Donald Trump magatype individual
- 1:38Speaker 1: and he cannot control them, and the House is now
- 1:41Speaker 1: in paralysis. The question becomes, can anyone do it now?
- 1:48Speaker 1: Let me also say I'm okay with this happening and
- 1:51Speaker 1: keep going on for a couple more days. To be
- 1:53Speaker 1: honest with you, I do not believe that this is
- 1:57Speaker 1: bad for the country. I do not believe this is
- 2:00Speaker 1: ad for America. What I am concerned with, though, is
- 2:03Speaker 1: that we've now are dealing with adults who are going
- 2:06Speaker 1: to act like children. Let me explain what I mean
- 2:09Speaker 1: by that. You have people that are surrogates. One of
- 2:13Speaker 1: those surrogates, for example, who's been out there very vocal,
- 2:18Speaker 1: is a guy that is that many have just said,
- 2:23Speaker 1: really are you're making things better? You're calling, as a Republican,
- 2:28Speaker 1: your fellow Republicans domestic terrorists. You're calling them insurrectionists. You're
- 2:37Speaker 1: saying that they are literally the same as a terrorist.
- 2:41Speaker 1: That's a problem. I think that was a very stupid
- 2:45Speaker 1: move for Mitch McConnell to have his allies Dan Crenshaw
- 2:49Speaker 1: go out there and to call them terrorists. That did
- 2:55Speaker 1: not help any of this. I would argue that Dan
- 2:58Speaker 1: Crenshaw's as much to blame for this fiasco right now
- 3:02Speaker 1: is some of those in the twenty in that twenty
- 3:05Speaker 1: that have no idea why they're doing this except for
- 3:07Speaker 1: the fact that it's personal. This is very personal. Now. Earlier,
- 3:15Speaker 1: Brett Bear on some of his reporting, and I want
- 3:18Speaker 1: you to hear what he said. He said, one way
- 3:20Speaker 1: McCarthy can still become speaker is if GOP rebels don't budge. Now,
- 3:25Speaker 1: let me explain what he means by that. He said,
- 3:28Speaker 1: there still is one way that this could be solved,
- 3:30Speaker 1: and that is the negotiations, including the Democrats, which apparently
- 3:36Speaker 1: these conversations have now started behind the scenes. You think
- 3:42Speaker 1: that John Bayner had it tough. You think that Paul
- 3:45Speaker 1: Ryan had it tough with a you know, tea party
- 3:48Speaker 1: or a recalcitrant wave of the party that said we're
- 3:53Speaker 1: not going to do this, and they stand up and
- 3:55Speaker 1: blocked different bills. Just wait, just wait when the debt
- 3:58Speaker 1: ceiling battle comes down the pike. Just wait until other
- 4:02Speaker 1: controversial legislation comes down. He will not have a lot
- 4:06Speaker 1: of power. And that's what I think he was trying
- 4:08Speaker 1: to protect. But he has negotiated away. But you have
- 4:11Speaker 1: Bob Good telling reporters today, I will always vote against
- 4:15Speaker 1: Kevin McCarthy always. You just had Matt Gates vote for
- 4:18Speaker 1: former President Trump. That's one of the others. Gates voted
- 4:22Speaker 1: for Trump as speaker, and so listen, there's one way
- 4:26Speaker 1: that this could be solved, and that is the negotiation
- 4:29Speaker 1: includes Democrats. There's some kind of thing that happens as
- 4:32Speaker 1: far as what they get. I don't know what it is,
- 4:35Speaker 1: but forty of them vote present, and then the majority
- 4:38Speaker 1: to win becomes one ninety eight and Kevin McCarthy becomes
- 4:43Speaker 1: speaker because the magic number shifts from two eighteen to one.
- 4:47Speaker 1: It's possible, but that means that he's giving up a
- 4:50Speaker 1: lot to Democrats and that would cost him inside his call,
- 4:52Speaker 1: and that's very careful because Jeffreys could get that number two.
- 4:55Speaker 1: So that's a very tricky game when you start picking
- 4:59Speaker 1: your exact number present votes and how it's gonna work.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Breast point the idea there that you have people sitting out.
- 5:08Speaker 1: It would also make it easier for Jeffries to have
- 5:12Speaker 1: a shot at pulling off the speakership out of nowhere,
- 5:15Speaker 1: and that is a very risky game because are their
- 5:18Speaker 1: Democrats that would lie to you and then change it
- 5:21Speaker 1: at the last moment, and then all of a sudden,
- 5:23Speaker 1: why Kim Jeffries becomes a speak of the House. I
- 5:26Speaker 1: think we can all agree. Yes, it's the same party
- 5:29Speaker 1: that tried to overthrow the will of the people in
- 5:31Speaker 1: an election. It's the same party that allowed for the
- 5:33Speaker 1: Democratic Party in the Deep State to spy on Americans
- 5:36Speaker 1: and silence Americans and shut down people's social media accounts.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Same people that tried to frame people for crimes they
- 5:43Speaker 1: didn't commit around Donald Trump. These are the same people
- 5:47Speaker 1: that knew the Steel Dolcier was created by the Democratic
- 5:52Speaker 1: Party and created by Hillary Clinton, and they used it
- 5:55Speaker 1: again try to overthrow the will of the people. So
- 5:57Speaker 1: if you add all of that up, Okay, would I
- 6:03Speaker 1: trust the Democratic Party to get this deal done? No?
- 6:07Speaker 1: You would have to be, in my opinion, suicidal. Now
- 6:10Speaker 1: there's another part of this, and that is those that
- 6:13Speaker 1: are principled. There's some in this twenty that aren't quote principled.
- 6:17Speaker 1: One of them is Chip Roy. He has said he
- 6:20Speaker 1: wants these rules changes. These rules changes apparently they have
- 6:22Speaker 1: gotten and so now the question is since you have
- 6:25Speaker 1: gotten them, or if you do get what you claim
- 6:27Speaker 1: that you want, will you then vote for Kevin McCarthy.
- 6:32Speaker 1: What I do know is this, it looks like the
- 6:36Speaker 1: four or five right now, they're gonna hold out no
- 6:40Speaker 1: matter what right I mean, They're that this is going
- 6:47Speaker 1: to not end for these four or five individuals. He
- 6:52Speaker 1: Matt Gates and the Boberts, They're not going away. And
- 6:56Speaker 1: so you have to look at the childish nature of
- 7:00Speaker 1: this right. It was I think absurd when Matt Gates
- 7:04Speaker 1: stood up and said this, because everybody knew, now, this
- 7:08Speaker 1: is a joke. Gates Trump, I mean, that's a joke.
- 7:19Speaker 1: It's a joke. Donald Trump's not gonna he doesn't want
- 7:22Speaker 1: to be the speaker. And that's basically just saying screw
- 7:25Speaker 1: the whole room. That's no different in the childish nature
- 7:30Speaker 1: of this debate than when you have Dan Crenshaw come
- 7:34Speaker 1: out and call his fellow Americans and the Republican Party
- 7:37Speaker 1: who are disagreeing with him, as he described them, terrorists.
- 7:41Speaker 1: It's no different than that. So I worry now that
- 7:47Speaker 1: we have gotten to a point where you are are
- 7:50Speaker 1: are having some people just over their junior high dislikes
- 7:55Speaker 1: of one another, who are refusing to do what is
- 7:58Speaker 1: best for the country. Listen to Matt Gates on McCarthy
- 8:02Speaker 1: earlier today in some way to try to divide our conference.
- 8:06Speaker 1: But look, he's a desperate guy whose vote share is
- 8:09Speaker 1: dropping with every subsequent vote, and I'm ready to vote
- 8:13Speaker 1: all night, a week, a month, and never for that person.
- 8:16Speaker 1: So I'll tell you what. When he comes out and
- 8:19Speaker 1: heads back to his squatting in the Speaker's office, why
- 8:21Speaker 1: isn't even be allowed to be there? Like, is there
- 8:24Speaker 1: some basis in law or statute or rule for someone
- 8:27Speaker 1: who comes in second place and sixth consecutive speaker races
- 8:31Speaker 1: to be able to go into the Speaker's office. That's
- 8:34Speaker 1: how petty we've gotten. Now, that's what I don't like.
- 8:40Speaker 1: If you're having a real grand conversation about rules changes
- 8:47Speaker 1: and some of these twenty are, I will back you
- 8:50Speaker 1: for days. But if we're sitting there and it's just
- 8:54Speaker 1: an issue of the pettiness of these politics of name calling,
- 8:58Speaker 1: that's stupid. That's not good for the country. Some of
- 9:04Speaker 1: these people that are standing up, I would argue, are
- 9:06Speaker 1: absolutely patriots. Others are just being dumb. Dan Crenshaw is
- 9:15Speaker 1: being as stupid as Matt Gates and when Dan Crenshaw
- 9:18Speaker 1: said on the twenty Republican to oppose McCarthy, we cannot
- 9:22Speaker 1: let the terrorists win. Not all these people are acting
- 9:25Speaker 1: actually none of them are acting like terrorists, and some
- 9:27Speaker 1: of them may be acting like children. Get another scalp
- 9:31Speaker 1: and another scalp, whether it's whether it's Bayner or Paul
- 9:34Speaker 1: Ryan or Than McCarthy, Scalise would just be next, and
- 9:37Speaker 1: we all know it. We just can't allow that to happen.
- 9:40Speaker 1: That's why those of us are saying, like, look, you
- 9:42Speaker 1: push us into this corner. So now we're now we're
- 9:44Speaker 1: saying we won't go for anyone but McCarthy. That's why
- 9:47Speaker 1: we're saying it, because we cannot let the terrorists win.
- 9:50Speaker 1: That's basically what's happening. We cannot let the terrorists win.
- 9:54Speaker 1: That's a Republican talking about fellow Republicans. That's not going
- 9:58Speaker 1: to get them to come over to your way. If
- 10:00Speaker 1: thinking that is stupid for him to be a surrogate
- 10:03Speaker 1: for Kevin McCarthy, This is dumb. Let's talk about the
- 10:08Speaker 1: media aspect of this as well. They're wanting this to
- 10:12Speaker 1: be a soap opera. It's great for ratings. They are
- 10:17Speaker 1: loving this. They're telling you this as a disaster, that
- 10:20Speaker 1: this is a debacle, that this is you know, something
- 10:23Speaker 1: we haven't seen an x snumber of years, and they're
- 10:26Speaker 1: trying to make this sound like it's a lot worse
- 10:28Speaker 1: than it really is. It's really not that bad. This
- 10:31Speaker 1: is I'm fine with it. We're not at a point
- 10:34Speaker 1: now where I'm going, Okay, we're in trouble and the
- 10:37Speaker 1: country's in trouble, like nothing's happening right now in a
- 10:39Speaker 1: negative way to the country by having this debate. In fact,
- 10:43Speaker 1: I would argue this is a good thing because it's
- 10:45Speaker 1: actually getting people to get their heads out of the
- 10:47Speaker 1: rear end and start paying attention to Washington and just
- 10:50Speaker 1: how dysfunctional it can be. I'm talking about across the
- 10:54Speaker 1: aisle as well, Like now people are going to be
- 10:58Speaker 1: paying attention a little bit more like what the hell
- 11:00Speaker 1: is Congress doing. They're gonna start paying attention a little
- 11:05Speaker 1: bit more to who their congressman and or woman is
- 11:10Speaker 1: and what they're doing. I'm fine with this. I think
- 11:15Speaker 1: Washington's broken. The spinning's out of control. We don't know
- 11:19Speaker 1: what's in the bill until we pass the bill. I mean,
- 11:21Speaker 1: that's that's how far gone. Okay, that is how far
- 11:29Speaker 1: gone we have gotten in this country. In politics, we
- 11:34Speaker 1: pass bills that no one has read. Even the people
- 11:38Speaker 1: that wrote the bill didn't read the whole bill. They
- 11:40Speaker 1: wrote part of the bill and sent it in and
- 11:42Speaker 1: shoved it in between pages sixty three and seventy two,
- 11:45Speaker 1: and then someone else shoves in something else from seventy
- 11:48Speaker 1: two to seventy eight, and then someone shoves in from
- 11:51Speaker 1: eighty five to seventy three. And then they combile this,
- 11:55Speaker 1: these pages of insanity and spending, and what do they do.
- 11:58Speaker 1: They can not only they compile it, but then they
- 12:01Speaker 1: vote on the damn thing. Having a debate about this
- 12:05Speaker 1: is not bad. So when you hear the media, you know,
- 12:09Speaker 1: talking about it as the civil war has broken out, Look,
- 12:12Speaker 1: all of this is going to be forgotten in a week.
- 12:16Speaker 1: They're gonna say that this is just gonna cripple the
- 12:19Speaker 1: Republican Party. I don't believe that. If I thought that,
- 12:21Speaker 1: i'd tell you this is gonna cripple the Republican agenda.
- 12:25Speaker 1: I also don't believe that. Now. I do think this
- 12:26Speaker 1: is gonna show you how petty some members of Congress are,
- 12:30Speaker 1: and hopefully some of them will get primaried and some
- 12:33Speaker 1: of them will get kicked out of office because there
- 12:35Speaker 1: are certain members of Congress right now that are not
- 12:39Speaker 1: acting like representatives of the people in their district. What
- 12:45Speaker 1: they are acting like is petulant children in a popularity
- 12:50Speaker 1: contest in high school. One of those that's honestly impressed
- 12:56Speaker 1: me is Majorie Taylor Greene. She ripped, for example, Bobert
- 13:02Speaker 1: Lauren Bobert for her opposition McCarthy. Now, look, if you
- 13:06Speaker 1: opposeman McCarthy, as long as you have a serious reason
- 13:10Speaker 1: for doing it, like Chip Roy, I'm willing to listen
- 13:13Speaker 1: to you. But when it just becomes an issue if
- 13:15Speaker 1: I don't like you, screw you and I'm going to
- 13:17Speaker 1: mess up your life because I can't stand you. Is
- 13:21Speaker 1: that what the citizen she's supposed to be representing her warning,
- 13:25Speaker 1: That's the question we should always be going back to.
- 13:28Speaker 1: So take a listen to this coverage from CNN, and again,
- 13:31Speaker 1: this is why they love this Right now, there has
- 13:34Speaker 1: been tension growing on the right. I just had a
- 13:37Speaker 1: chance to speak to one of McCarthy's allies', staunch conservative
- 13:42Speaker 1: Marjorie Taylor green who was allied with many of these
- 13:45Speaker 1: on the far right who are blocking McCarthy's ascension. She
- 13:48Speaker 1: said it does not make the Republican Party look good,
- 13:50Speaker 1: and she's blushing her colleagues to allow McCarthy to get
- 13:54Speaker 1: into the Galvin listen. I think the American people, no
- 13:58Speaker 1: matter how you vote, or sick and tired of drama,
- 14:01Speaker 1: and this is nothing but drama. We're on multiple days
- 14:05Speaker 1: now with multiple candidates from this group. So I'm not
- 14:08Speaker 1: sure how Lauren Bobert, on one hand, can demand so
- 14:11Speaker 1: much out of Kevin McCarthy but then demand nothing out
- 14:14Speaker 1: of someone else and be willing to vote for them
- 14:16Speaker 1: to be speaker. That's not serious. I don't think that's leadership,
- 14:20Speaker 1: and I really see it as more obstruction than progress.
- 14:25Speaker 1: So that last part referring to a similar conservative congresswoman
- 14:28Speaker 1: from Colorado, but someone who's been on the other side
- 14:31Speaker 1: on this issue, Lauren Bobert, who has been one of
- 14:33Speaker 1: the people who've seen is almost certainly there's no chance
- 14:36Speaker 1: of Kevin McCarthy winning her support. Bobert has nominated another person,
- 14:41Speaker 1: Kevin Hearne, as her candidate. He's the chairman of a
- 14:44Speaker 1: separate Republican caucus within the larger Republican conference. But Marjorie
- 14:51Speaker 1: Taylor Green, they're taking aim at Boubert, suggesting that she
- 14:55Speaker 1: should that she's not being serious and pushing a candidate
- 14:58Speaker 1: who has no chance in into two hundred and eighteen votes.
- 15:01Speaker 1: But Jake, that is where we are right now. Kevin
- 15:03Speaker 1: McCarthy has the most votes of any Republican, but he
- 15:06Speaker 1: does not have a path yet to two hundred and
- 15:08Speaker 1: eighteen votes. He is not dropping out of this race
- 15:11Speaker 1: at the moment. People like Marjorie Taylor Green are sticking
- 15:14Speaker 1: with Kevin McCarthy, and those hardliners are not backing off
- 15:18Speaker 1: their push for an alternative candidate. So this is expected
- 15:22Speaker 1: to drag on, potentially through the day to day, potentially
- 15:25Speaker 1: beyond Jake, with no end in sight. As McCarthy believes
- 15:28Speaker 1: eventually they'll get there, it's just not clear how and when.
- 15:32Speaker 1: That's right Again, I love this Right, it's gonna drag on.
- 15:36Speaker 1: We're talking about an actual day in the life of Congress.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Do you hear me? Days Congress doesn't do Jack Crapp,
- 15:42Speaker 1: Do you hear me? Days it's in session and literally
- 15:44Speaker 1: they don't vote on a single damn thing. Do you
- 15:47Speaker 1: know how many days of Congress they miss because they
- 15:50Speaker 1: want to just go home. How many bills are not
- 15:54Speaker 1: are voted on that no one's read, just so they
- 15:56Speaker 1: can catch the Thursday night flight to be home Friday. Like,
- 16:02Speaker 1: does anybody understand how much of a of a joke
- 16:07Speaker 1: the media is right now for acting like they're serious
- 16:10Speaker 1: business that Congress. They would be going home tomorrow, folks,
- 16:15Speaker 1: They would be adjourneying tomorrow. So the reality is call
- 16:21Speaker 1: it a couple of snow days. This is not embarrassing. Okay,
- 16:27Speaker 1: This is this idea that the that the sky is
- 16:29Speaker 1: falling chicken little moment here. This is all the media
- 16:34Speaker 1: trying to play into this and the idea that I
- 16:36Speaker 1: should be embarrassed of. You know, they're embarrassing me. They're
- 16:40Speaker 1: not yet some of them I think are stupid. Bobert
- 16:44Speaker 1: is one. I say this, if you've got all these
- 16:46Speaker 1: different candidates and then you're like you said and be like,
- 16:48Speaker 1: oh I want Donald Trump, and then you're like, oh
- 16:50Speaker 1: I want Jim Jordan's and like Jim Jordan's Like I dude,
- 16:52Speaker 1: I don't want it, Like I just dominated the other guy.
- 16:55Speaker 1: You're not being serious, And that's what this is about.
- 16:59Speaker 1: There some of these actors are bad actors and they're
- 17:02Speaker 1: not being serious. There are others in the twenty that
- 17:06Speaker 1: are very serious, and I will stand by them while
- 17:09Speaker 1: they ask for what they want. I got to just
- 17:12Speaker 1: take a moment to talk about the unseriousness of where
- 17:16Speaker 1: we are with some of these members of Congress. The House,
- 17:22Speaker 1: as I am speaking right now, is about to hold
- 17:24Speaker 1: the eleventh speaker vote, so longest race one hundred and
- 17:28Speaker 1: sixty plus years, and Matt Gates just gave a speech
- 17:31Speaker 1: from the fourth the House nominating Donald J. Trump officially
- 17:36Speaker 1: for Speak of the House, which he doesn't even want.
- 17:40Speaker 1: This is when it gets un serious. If you're laughing
- 17:46Speaker 1: right now, you should be laughing. Donald Trump is not
- 17:51Speaker 1: wanting to become Speak of the House. This is not
- 17:54Speaker 1: a serious And when every round you keep changing the name,
- 17:57Speaker 1: it becomes more insane. That is what does bother me
- 18:04Speaker 1: in all of this. You want to have a real
- 18:06Speaker 1: debate of real issues, real rules. Hey, I'll stick with you,
- 18:09Speaker 1: but that's not what you're doing. Lauren Bobert, when she
- 18:13Speaker 1: get a nomination earlier, I don't know if this is
- 18:15Speaker 1: around seven eight, I can't remember now, she said this, Listen,
- 18:18Speaker 1: this is not serious. For what purposes? A general woman
- 18:22Speaker 1: from Colorado rise, Madam Clark, I rise to nominate Kevin
- 18:26Speaker 1: Hearne of Oklahoma for Speaker of the House. The general
- 18:29Speaker 1: woman is recognized. It's as simple as that, folks. Let's
- 18:33Speaker 1: start getting somewhere with this. Realize the facts. Kevin McCarthy
- 18:38Speaker 1: does not have the votes. Let's elect a Republican who
- 18:41Speaker 1: can unify our conference, who is a true leader. I'm
- 18:45Speaker 1: casting my vote for Kevin Hearne, and I hope you
- 18:49Speaker 1: will as well. I yield. Kevin McCarthy does not have
- 18:54Speaker 1: the votes. Let's elect a Republican and unify our conference.
- 18:57Speaker 1: I'll throw another random name out there. This is this
- 19:00Speaker 1: is when it's not serious. Donald Trump is not calling
- 19:05Speaker 1: Matt Gates saying, hey, nominate me. In fact, if I
- 19:08Speaker 1: was Donald Trump right now, I'd be pissed. I'd be
- 19:12Speaker 1: mad as hell. You're you're bringing you're dragging me into this.
- 19:15Speaker 1: I've already said I'd support Kevin McCarthy. Don't nominate me
- 19:19Speaker 1: and drag me into this mud. Don't don't don't bring
- 19:23Speaker 1: me into this crap you're doing right now, this is
- 19:28Speaker 1: not serious. Now. The media is also want to wanting
- 19:32Speaker 1: to freak you out on the issue of national security.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Fox News Channel moments ago in between these votes, they said,
- 19:42Speaker 1: this about national security, and this is becoming a quote
- 19:44Speaker 1: national security issue, and this is what the media wants. Okay,
- 19:47Speaker 1: I want to be clear about that. They want this
- 19:49Speaker 1: to become a TMZ story where where eventually you're just
- 19:54Speaker 1: your cave. At some point, there's going to be those
- 19:56Speaker 1: talks because people are starting to get upset, you know,
- 20:00Speaker 1: staying on the floor. It's it's one thing to do
- 20:01Speaker 1: this for two or three days. Let's say we're here tomorrow.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Let's say we're here all Friday night, Saturday, the weekend. Again,
- 20:08Speaker 1: those talks are being had very quietly right now, but
- 20:12Speaker 1: they are starting being had because we are no closer
- 20:15Speaker 1: to electing a speaker than we were on Tuesday afternoon
- 20:19Speaker 1: when they started the Congress. And something that the Democrats
- 20:22Speaker 1: and some Republicans have started to hit now is that
- 20:24Speaker 1: this might be a national security issue. If you look
- 20:27Speaker 1: in your constitution, the first officer that's mentioned for the
- 20:31Speaker 1: United States is the Speaker of the House in Article
- 20:34Speaker 1: one of the Constitution. The Senate majority leader is never
- 20:37Speaker 1: mentioned anywhere. In fact, we didn't have a Senate majority
- 20:40Speaker 1: leader until about one hundred and ten years ago, So
- 20:43Speaker 1: the Speaker of the House is the constitutional officer for
- 20:46Speaker 1: this branch of government. You have Democrats and Republicans who
- 20:49Speaker 1: are starting to say, wait, we can't get briefings on
- 20:51Speaker 1: important things that we need to talk about. What would
- 20:54Speaker 1: happen if there were to be a crisis. That's a problem.
- 20:58Speaker 1: You know, there's health is out there, and so the
- 21:01Speaker 1: Democrats and some Republicans are starting to hammer that. Now,
- 21:04Speaker 1: does that result in some sort of negotiation? I want
- 21:08Speaker 1: to see who this person is though, who Rocana, the
- 21:11Speaker 1: Democrat from California, and Marcy Captor, the Democrat from Ohio,
- 21:15Speaker 1: would be willing to vote for. Because again, that person
- 21:17Speaker 1: hasn't arrived yet. It's hard to see. We talked about
- 21:21Speaker 1: this the other day, Neil, about sometimes you get in
- 21:24Speaker 1: a leadership election, somebody comes out of nowhere. That person
- 21:26Speaker 1: still has not has not materialized. Now who knows. We're
- 21:31Speaker 1: awaits from that what looks like a tenth vote proceeding
- 21:34Speaker 1: short Now some of this I think is just straight
- 21:39Speaker 1: up fear mongering. I want to be clear, and they
- 21:45Speaker 1: want this to turn into a fear mongering moment. This
- 21:50Speaker 1: could go through the weekend, and we're going to be
- 21:52Speaker 1: okay at that point if you're Kevin McCarthy, and I
- 21:57Speaker 1: do think there's a real question here, and I keep asking.
- 22:00Speaker 1: I agree with Kevin McCarthy's logic. M Kevin McCarthy's like,
- 22:05Speaker 1: who you got who's gonna get more than me? Right now?
- 22:09Speaker 1: Give me a name that all these twenty would back
- 22:12Speaker 1: down and say, okay, now that one we could agree on.
- 22:17Speaker 1: It's a fair point. I mean, I mean, really, it's
- 22:22Speaker 1: a it's a it's a very very very fair point.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Who is that person? I want to I want to
- 22:31Speaker 1: know this. I want to know who that person is?
- 22:35Speaker 1: Is there? Give me the name? And that's part of
- 22:38Speaker 1: this lack of seriousness of some in this group of twenty,
- 22:42Speaker 1: not all, but some. It's like, all right, you don't
- 22:44Speaker 1: like Kevin McCarthy, So what person would it be that
- 22:48Speaker 1: you can get the majority? Because I can promise you this,
- 22:50Speaker 1: You're not gonna get the majority for Donald Trump. We're gonna,
- 22:52Speaker 1: as I'm you know, as we're talking about this right now.
- 22:55Speaker 1: All right, So the eleventh round, has McCarthy, Trump and
- 23:00Speaker 1: hearn have been nominated, I'll be very interested to see
- 23:03Speaker 1: how many beauty vote for Donald Trump, because I promise
- 23:05Speaker 1: you it's gonna be a helpful out lesson Kevin McCarthy.
- 23:07Speaker 1: How do I know that? Because Donald Trump is indoors
- 23:09Speaker 1: Kevin McCarthy and Donald Trump is not gonna come back
- 23:12Speaker 1: to Washington, DC to be the Speaker of the House.
- 23:16Speaker 1: That's when it's not a serious name that you're nominating.
- 23:20Speaker 1: This is when Matt Gates becomes what I referred to
- 23:24Speaker 1: as a joke. Some have referred to Gates as a
- 23:27Speaker 1: walking Twitter account. Is he proving anyone wrong in that?
- 23:34Speaker 1: I would argue, no, he's not. Now, if you're saying
- 23:38Speaker 1: I'm not going to McCarthy for xum of reasons, that's fine,
- 23:42Speaker 1: But you need to have a name of a person
- 23:45Speaker 1: that can get two hundred votes? Can any name? Is
- 23:48Speaker 1: there any name? If you switch to the Zieve's Kalie
- 23:51Speaker 1: with the twenty drop down to eighteen or seventeen or sixteen,
- 23:56Speaker 1: you understand because then we're still gridlocked. My question for
- 24:01Speaker 1: Matt Gates and my question for Bobert is this, in
- 24:08Speaker 1: your very small isolated group of people right now, give
- 24:13Speaker 1: me the name of who it is that you say
- 24:16Speaker 1: everyone can agree on and then and then do that
- 24:20Speaker 1: vote count and let me know what that is. That's
- 24:22Speaker 1: what I want to know. Give me that one and
- 24:27Speaker 1: then let's talk. I do not believe it's there. That's
- 24:32Speaker 1: why I think it's still probably Kevin McCarthy. That's why
- 24:37Speaker 1: I believe that more than likely it's Kevin, and that
- 24:40Speaker 1: Kevin is still the front runner. But nominating the way
- 24:47Speaker 1: that they're not McDonald Trump, that's juvenile and it's bush league,
- 24:51Speaker 1: and it's stupid.
