- 0:00This shit ain't nothing to me, man. This is Boxing
- 0:03Before Dark. Boxing. Boxing. Boxing. Back. Back.
- 0:06Back. Back. Back. Before. Before. Before. Before.
- 0:11Boxing. Boxing. Boxing. Boxing Before Dark. This
- 0:15is Boxing Before Dark. Alright. Boxing Before
- 0:27Dark. Back up in your ears, bitch. Oh, there's
- 0:32a whole lot of other talk. You want to hear what
- 0:35that is? You're going to have to go to Patreon
- 0:37and hear all about fucking baseball. And how
- 0:44neither of us watch it. I just do not give a
- 0:48shit about baseball until it's October. If the
- 0:54Diamondbacks are not in the playoffs, then I
- 0:56continue to not care. I got to cheer for the
- 1:02Jays. It's like nationally required. Yeah, same
- 1:07reason I cheer for the Diamondbacks. I don't
- 1:10care about the sport, but if I'm going to be
- 1:13pulling for anyone, it's going to be for my home
- 1:15team. Yeah. I found out... today that not today
- 1:22yesterday that it's beau bichette and not beau
- 1:25bitchett beau bitchett i thought there was an
- 1:33extra t in there i've been saying it wrong for
- 1:36like years because he's been on the jays for
- 1:39years i saw this one this post on instagram it
- 1:47was like hockey players And it was, do you know
- 1:50how to say their names? And all the foreign players
- 1:53were on like saying. Oh yeah. I think I sent
- 1:57it to you. Okay. That's where I saw it then.
- 2:00Yeah. Yeah. All the Scandinavian names mostly.
- 2:03I thought it was hilarious. I was the Finnish
- 2:06players with all the, I tried to, I tried my
- 2:09best to pronounce them. Like I, I do my best
- 2:12with between boxing and, uh, keeping up with
- 2:15MMA. uh ultimate effing casuals you know just
- 2:20a subtle little slide in right there uh but keeping
- 2:23up with mma and boxing like i have i thought
- 2:26i was good with names but apparently not scandinavia
- 2:30is a whole another that's a completely different
- 2:32kettle of fish yep all right let's get into a
- 2:37little bit of the news here uh xilei zhang is
- 2:42he has accepted terms Sign the contract to fight
- 2:46Derek Chizora. I don't know how to feel about
- 2:51this one. I kind of think Chizora can win. You
- 2:56think so? If he avoids that big right hand, or
- 3:00left, or whichever one Zhang hits him with. Like,
- 3:04Chizora is so good at being washed, he keeps
- 3:10his... He keeps what little gas tank he has until
- 3:15the end. He's that little shitbox car that runs
- 3:19300 miles on empty. Like... I don't know. I think
- 3:25Chizora could outlast him. Jank has a terrible
- 3:29gas tank. He does. Oh, man. Now that... I was
- 3:36just thinking about the power and, like, Chizora
- 3:39gets hit. But Chizora's... been hit and not gone
- 3:43down too though at some point the jar's gotta
- 3:46open and i'm not i'm not saying he can't lose
- 3:52i'm saying he can win i might put 10 bucks on
- 3:59chizora i don't know i don't think this is good
- 4:04enough for me to break my my no gambling streak
- 4:07yeah i I throw small bets on bullshit all the
- 4:11time. But this might actually be a more fun fight
- 4:17than anyone is thinking. Or it could be absolutely
- 4:20terrible, where neither one of them does anything.
- 4:23But I do think Chizora will push the pace. Like,
- 4:27that's gonna be his game plan. To force Zhang's
- 4:32hand and make him gas? Yeah. I'm not so sure.
- 4:41I don't have that much faith in Chizora. Despite
- 4:44him continuing to prove me wrong every time he's
- 4:47been out in the last how many years, I continue
- 4:51to not have faith in him. You gotta have faith.
- 4:55It's Chizora. He doesn't stop. He should, but
- 4:58he doesn't. Yeah. And he sounds like a dying
- 5:06How? While he's fighting, but... Um... Well...
- 5:16Is this finally Chizora's last fight, or does
- 5:19he have two left? This is the one that's last
- 5:22on his contract. Okay, this should be, like,
- 5:26actually last. Should be the end of his career
- 5:30as well. Should. I want Chizora... I want Chizora
- 5:36to go out on a win. Yeah. He is. I don't know.
- 5:46You gotta back Delboy. Especially if it's his
- 5:49final farewell. That being said, if he wins,
- 5:53he probably doesn't retire. Oh. I forgot that
- 5:59he does that. Rather than go out on a win. Let's
- 6:05let it ride, baby. We're going to keep fucking
- 6:08going. No, dude. This was supposed to be your
- 6:11farewell. You got a big win against a big puncher.
- 6:17You outfoxed him. This is the time to go out.
- 6:21This is your glory moment. But you know he's
- 6:27not going to let that happen. Exactly. He's not
- 6:29going to let that happen. But. I still want Del
- 6:34Boy to win. Fuck it. Let it ride. Speaking of
- 6:41letting it ride, Manny Pacquiao, one of his rumored
- 6:45opponents for his return in January, Vasily Lomachenko.
- 6:52I thought Pacquiao was fighting Roley. I thought
- 6:56so too, but Lomachenko's kind of been... coming
- 7:00up on the rumor mill as the likely frontrunner.
- 7:04Do you think Loma actually comes out of retirement?
- 7:07For Pacquiao paycheck? Absolutely. Fair. I don't
- 7:13know, man. I think if Lomachenko comes out of
- 7:16retirement, the Pacquiao fairy tale might be
- 7:19over. Depending on if Lomachenko trains up for
- 7:24it and stuff. If he takes it seriously? Yeah.
- 7:29I think he will. I think he'll want to put an
- 7:33exclamation point on the win. And out -ballet
- 7:40Pacquiao's dead calves. I mean, it depends on
- 7:48what Lomachenko looks like now, I guess. But
- 7:51I can't see Pacquiao catching Lomachenko at all.
- 7:57The weight class matters because of exactly what
- 7:59you just said. Because if they're fighting at
- 8:02147, Lomachenko was already small for 135. Yeah,
- 8:08but I don't see Pacquiao hitting him. Pacquiao's
- 8:15not that fast anymore. No, he's not. His hands
- 8:19are pretty fast, but his feet are not. You're
- 8:22right. Like, I'm not saying he couldn't possibly
- 8:27catch Lomachenko, but I'm saying if Lomachenko
- 8:30doesn't look super old and out of shape, he just
- 8:34doesn't catch Lomachenko. Right. If Lomachenko
- 8:37has any semblance of his old form, then it's
- 8:41going to be a problem for Pacquiao. Like... This
- 8:46version of Pacquiao, let's fucking be really
- 8:49clear so that the hate mongers don't... find
- 8:53some reason to send hate mail. Well, I mean,
- 8:58if they fight now, it's this version. That's
- 9:01the only thing we can be talking about. Yeah,
- 9:03well, you know how people get when talking about
- 9:07the old favorites. I guess it hasn't even been
- 9:12a year since Lomachenko fought. I kind of completely
- 9:15forgot about that. Kambosa's fight. That's right.
- 9:22I thought he had been out longer. I did too.
- 9:25Yeah, I don't think there's any hope in hell
- 9:28of Pacquiao catching Lomachenko. Shaking my head
- 9:34for those who can't see. They also don't have
- 9:39his age on BoxRec, but he's like five years younger
- 9:43than Pacquiao? They don't put their age on when
- 9:46they're inactive. For whatever reason. Loma's
- 9:51my age. Loma's my age and Pacquiao's, what, 47?
- 9:5846, 47. So Lomachenko's a whole 11 years younger.
- 10:0410 or 11 years younger. Wow. There's no fucking
- 10:08way Pacquiao catches Loma. Not in my opinion.
- 10:17Failed segue. Fandora Thurman. rescheduled for
- 10:21Pacquiao undercard. Is this a good move? Does
- 10:26this... I don't know. I feel like Pacquiao is
- 10:30a big enough name to be worthy of having that
- 10:35big of a co -main. But at the same time, this
- 10:40could still be a main event, right? Yeah, Juan,
- 10:43it depends who's Pacquiao fighting. Pacquiao
- 10:45Lomachenko, that's two big names. Pacquiao, Rolly...
- 10:49I'd probably be more excited for the Fundora
- 10:53Thurman card, to be honest. I don't know. Thurman's
- 11:01also... I don't give a shit about Thurman anymore.
- 11:05I don't remember the last time I gave a shit
- 11:07about Keith Thurman. That's kind of what I mean,
- 11:11though. He's definitely a name, but he's not
- 11:15a name that I care about. Somebody does, but...
- 11:18Fandora's main event level, to me, every time,
- 11:25he's always exciting. But maybe they also kind
- 11:31of... How do I put it? Pacquiao's gonna bring
- 11:35in casuals, no matter who he fights. So putting
- 11:39a good fight underneath it is kind of like putting
- 11:43a good co -main on a Jake Paul event. Like, you'll
- 11:47get some casual seeing a really good fight. Right.
- 11:51Is Fandora Thurman gonna be a really good fight?
- 11:53I don't know, but... Depends a lot on Thurman.
- 11:57Oh. Fandora's always fun. Right. But... That's
- 12:02a good way to put it. This is like putting a
- 12:04good co -main on Jake Paul, Mike Tyson. Yeah.
- 12:09Like... It gets some casuals to see good boxing
- 12:17and not just a washed Pacquiao fighting whoever.
- 12:25Getting styled on by Lomachenko. I really do
- 12:29think that would be so one -sided. It would be
- 12:32sad. Usually, when it comes to situations like
- 12:41this, specifically with Jake Paul, for what you
- 12:44outlined, I always looked at it as 10 ,000 people
- 12:49are going to watch, just for example numbers,
- 12:5310 ,000 people are going to watch simply because
- 12:58it's Manny Pacquiao. Of those 10 ,000, 1 ,000
- 13:07of them... Start to follow the sport a little
- 13:10bit. And of that thousand. Maybe ten of them
- 13:15become hardcore fans. Maybe. Yeah. Maybe. Maybe
- 13:20ten of them buy the next pay -per -view. Yeah.
- 13:24Like we all do. Really. I'm not sure how to.
- 13:30Just shaking my fist here. Like a real happy
- 13:34-go -lucky guy. Paying my dues. I've said it
- 13:41before. I don't mind paying for good cards. I
- 13:44have the money now. But some of the cards that
- 13:47they make pay -per -view are garbage. They're
- 13:50not even garbage. They're worth like $30. Not
- 13:54$80. Well, speaking of cards not being garbage,
- 14:01Pitbull Roach has been bolstered considerably.
- 14:08Jannybeck. versus Eris Landilara and Oshaki Foster
- 14:14versus Stephen Fulton have been added to the
- 14:17undercard. That is going to upgrade this. That's
- 14:21$80 right there. I'll pay $80 for that. Yeah,
- 14:23yeah. I was bitching last week, but with those
- 14:27two added, it's worth $80. Yep. We went on so
- 14:33long that we just kind of were repeating ourselves
- 14:35just because of how dissatisfying it was. But
- 14:40not this. Not this. Nuh -uh. This is worth it.
- 14:44Yeah, no, this is worth it. Is it one of those
- 14:49ones where you would tell a gray, stop being
- 14:53a broke little bitch, or is $80 still enough
- 14:57to be a little bit more understanding? I don't...
- 15:04If you're actually broke, like if you have to...
- 15:09budget for $80, I probably wouldn't spend it
- 15:12on this one. But, if you budgeting for $80 is
- 15:17not going to the bar this weekend, then it's
- 15:21worth $80 to you. You know what I mean? If $80
- 15:24is going to the bar on Friday with your friends,
- 15:28then... If you have the disposable income. Yeah.
- 15:31But if $80 is like, oh, I guess I'm eating beans
- 15:34and rice for the next two weeks. Or three weeks.
- 15:40Yeah, depending where your financial status is.
- 15:44But if it's like, I'm going to stay home and
- 15:46watch the $80 pay -per -view instead of having
- 15:48drinks with my friends, it's worth it. Yeah,
- 15:51definitely. Or you could just have people over
- 15:56and charge them $5. BYOB? Yeah. Sorry, that was
- 16:06my alarm. I didn't hear it. So there you go.
- 16:12That's a callback to Patreon content. Richard
- 16:17Torres versus Tomas Salek. Who is Tomas Salek?
- 16:24Yes. He certainly is a fighter of all time. I
- 16:32don't know. He's from Czechia? All right. Yeah.
- 16:41All right. I don't know. I was trying to find
- 16:44something. I don't recognize any names on his
- 16:48box rec. It was just that it's Richard Torres.
- 16:51That's pretty much it. Yeah. I like Richard Torres.
- 16:56Yeah, I think this card's in Mexico. Oh, that's
- 17:00fun. On the Rafael Espinosa. Oh. Yeah, yeah,
- 17:06yeah. I am actually starting to get a little
- 17:09excited for that card as well. Yeah, they're
- 17:12putting something together. And I need to see
- 17:15how far it is into Mexico. See if I'm going to
- 17:20try to go. Nice. It depends on how far the drive
- 17:24is. I'm going to have to take my decals off.
- 17:33A little just geopolitical problem. for people
- 17:39like me. Geopolitical problem. Kubrat Pulev versus
- 17:46Murat Gasyev. I am glad that Pulev is not Atalma's
- 17:51next fight. Why is that? I don't know. I don't
- 17:59feel like Pulev would be any of a step up for
- 18:02Atalma. Pulev's old. Yes. And he hasn't looked
- 18:08good. Gassiev is fucking donkey balls at heavyweight.
- 18:16Yeah, this is too... Whatever. This is a whatever
- 18:21fight. I'm probably not going to watch this.
- 18:24You had previously referred to... What was it?
- 18:29Ryan Garcia versus Mario Barrios as an ass -off.
- 18:33Yeah. This is another ass -off. Yeah, but this
- 18:36is a heavyweight ass -off, which is even worse.
- 18:39True, because they can be... Heavyweight slop
- 18:44is different from lower weight classes. It's
- 18:49so slow, and there's so much hugging. I mean,
- 18:55Chizora beat Pulev three years ago. Chizora beat
- 19:00Pulev? Yeah. Three years ago. I think Atalma
- 19:07can handle better competition than Kubrat Pulev,
- 19:13even if he is a name. That's why I'm glad. He's
- 19:20a name, but Murat Gassiev, this is for the WBA
- 19:25regular fucking title. Is it? Yes, it is. How?
- 19:34Jesus Christ. Yeah, because Kubrat Pulev is the
- 19:37regular champ. How? Because it's the WBA. They
- 19:46do stupid shit. Fair enough. They are among...
- 19:51Their brand of stupid shit is diluting the value
- 19:58of their own titles. That's what they do. They
- 20:02have too many... Other belts. Yeah. Super champ,
- 20:07regular champ, interim champ. We've gone on a
- 20:10couple rants about how I get so lost with the
- 20:13WBA belt. Well, this does nothing to improve
- 20:19the situation. No. Oh, speaking of improving
- 20:27situations. Rolly versus Shakram Giyasov. ordered
- 20:33for a defense of his WBA welterweight title.
- 20:40Should I know who Giyasov is? I barely know who
- 20:45he is. So, not really. Another Uzbek. Uzbek boxing
- 20:54is popping off right now. It is. It's been popping
- 20:58off since the 2016 Olympics. Fair enough. But
- 21:04they're all getting into world contention right
- 21:07now. Yes. Yeah, I don't have much of an opinion
- 21:14on this one. I like Rolly being a champ just
- 21:17because I think it's funny. It is. I was thinking
- 21:23of what I was going to say as a reply to your
- 21:26why you like Rolly being a champ. And my immediate
- 21:31thought was, it's funny. It's just too funny
- 21:34that he's a champion. Oh, two -time, two -weight
- 21:38class world champion, Rolly Romero? Like, come
- 21:41on. How could that not make you smile? It's too
- 21:45fun. Another fight ordered by the WBA, Nick Ball
- 21:54versus Brandon Figueroa. Oh. Somebody was asking
- 21:58me if Nick Ball was good. That must be why they
- 22:02saw this. Is Nick Ball good? No. Depends. If
- 22:11you're from the UK, then he's like the second
- 22:14coming of Jesus. He's the second coming of fucking
- 22:18Josh Warrington is what he is. I am not a fan.
- 22:28Yeah, he's proven himself to be pretty limited,
- 22:31but his limitations are at a high enough level
- 22:36that he can beat guys like Ray Vargas. I guess,
- 22:41yeah. Or Ray Ford. I don't know. I think Figueroa
- 22:48can handle Nick Ball. I think so, too. It's not
- 22:53a bad fight, but I think Figueroa is a good enough
- 22:58boxer that Nick Ball's not going to overwhelm
- 23:01him. The height difference is going to be humorous.
- 23:06Very humorous. Yeah, my answer to is Nick Ball
- 23:14good is usually no. I would say he's alright.
- 23:23But I'm typically overly generous with my assessments.
- 23:29Like I try to be, try to give a positive spin
- 23:33to anything. I'm too nice, I guess. I don't know.
- 23:40Yeah. So I would say he's all right. Anyways,
- 23:45I'm going to be backing Espinoza. Figueroa? Figueroa.
- 23:50Whoever he's fighting. The tall Mexican guy.
- 23:54Doesn't fucking matter who it is. Not really.
- 23:57No. Oh, Figueroa is the one that looks like he's
- 24:01wearing eye makeup all the time. That's correct.
- 24:03Okay. Yes. He has very nice eyelashes. I am jealous.
- 24:12Natural eyeliner. Natural mascara. Yeah, but
- 24:21he looks like he's wearing both eyeliner and
- 24:23mascara all the time. Maybe he is. I don't know.
- 24:28If it were to come out that he was or that he
- 24:32does, it wouldn't surprise me. Just because he's
- 24:35done modeling and he's been in movies. His nickname
- 24:42is the Heartbreaker. Well, Nick Ball versus Brandon
- 24:56Figueroa. I'm riding with Figueroa. I think most
- 25:01of North America will be riding with Figueroa
- 25:04on that one. Another kind of no -name opponent,
- 25:12Diego Pacheco versus Kevin Sancho. I do not know
- 25:17who that is either. I don't either. I just know
- 25:20that Diego Pacheco is back in December. Nice.
- 25:24I'm hopeful that he's going to put another clinic
- 25:27on. Kevin Sajo. His nickname is The Punisher.
- 25:36Is this the right guy? Yes. He is French Cameroonian
- 25:42that moved to France. That is like a boxing pipeline.
- 25:47There are a ton of people from Cameroon that
- 25:50moved to France. And by a ton, I can think of
- 25:53three. that's a lot there's probably like several
- 25:57dozen others that have done it that we don't
- 26:00know about but cameroon to france it's one of
- 26:04those like they have a uh history yeah i think
- 26:11colonial cameroon speaks french yeah they're
- 26:14francophones it's a colonial thing like because
- 26:17you were a former colony you're you couldn't
- 26:21kind of get fast track to That makes sense. Sorry
- 26:27for ruining your entire fucking lives. Your governments
- 26:33and everything. Sorry about that. Come to Paris.
- 26:38It's pretty cool here. Yeah, I assume Pacheco
- 26:46is probably going to win this. Yeah, it's a safe
- 26:51assumption, but... I'm trying to think of a safe
- 26:56assumption that we had. Where someone from France
- 27:00sparked somebody? Yeah. That's exactly the one.
- 27:05I'm wondering, who could that have been? Pacheco
- 27:10better not get Sarast. Sarast is a good verb.
- 27:19Yeah. It has... come into my vocabulary. I really
- 27:23like it. Because you can almost tell what it
- 27:26means even if you don't get the reference. True.
- 27:29Because it sounds like you're saying sauced.
- 27:31Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. It
- 27:34sounds like you're getting styled on even if
- 27:39you don't know what the styling is. Well, speaking
- 27:47of styling, Amanda Serrano. is back in January.
- 27:52She's going to be fighting in Puerto Rico. That's
- 27:57nice. Homecoming fight? I don't know if it's
- 27:59homecoming, just because she's fought in PR a
- 28:03few times. I don't think it's that she's been
- 28:07away for an extended period. It's been a long
- 28:11time, hasn't it? Now I want to check. Which one's
- 28:15the Puerto Rico flag? Red and white stripes,
- 28:20blue with a star. Like four years? Four years.
- 28:24Okay, so this is homecoming then. If that's the
- 28:28case. Yeah, the first one I can find on BoxRec
- 28:33is... 2021. Wow. Okay. Homecoming fight it is.
- 28:47Actually, she hasn't fought in Puerto Rico very
- 28:49much. Almost all her fights are in the States
- 28:53or the Dominican. Really? That's Dominican, right?
- 28:58The white cross with the red and blue? I believe
- 29:03so. Santo Domingo is Dominican? Yeah, that's
- 29:09Dominican. Yeah. That's surprising because I
- 29:15know... She lived a lot of her life in New York.
- 29:19I mean, Puerto Rican, New York. That's a fucking
- 29:24pipeline. Yeah, I only see two Puerto Rico fights
- 29:31on her box rec. So that's pretty cool. She gets
- 29:39to fight at home. Or whatever. Childhood home.
- 29:44Fought in Sweden? That's fucking random. Frida
- 29:50Wahlberg used to be a big name. Was she? Yeah.
- 29:55That's not super random. Once she got the belts,
- 30:03Frida mostly fought at home. She didn't leave
- 30:06Scandinavia. I don't think. A lot of New York
- 30:13fights. Yeah. And a lot of Dominican fights.
- 30:17It's actually pretty surprising that she has
- 30:21fought so much in Dominican Republic but not
- 30:25in PR. That's fucking weird to me. Birthplace
- 30:34and residence. I don't know. I'm just saying.
- 30:39She hasn't fought there very much. No, I got
- 30:43you. It's fucking weird. I don't know if this
- 30:50is weird. Andre Ward came out saying, prime versus
- 30:56prime, he would probably lose to Roy Jones Jr.
- 31:00Or his words were not that he would lose, but
- 31:05probably wouldn't beat him. I don't think that's
- 31:11weird. Anybody who says they beat Roy Jones Jr.
- 31:15is a bit delusional, I think. Yeah, when I saw
- 31:20that, I was thinking at first, like, eh. Andre
- 31:26Ward does have, like, the jab and grab kind of
- 31:29style that could upset someone as dynamic as
- 31:35Roy Jones. But at the same time, like, Roy Jones
- 31:38was a fucking machine. He was a... Fucking untouchable
- 31:41in his prime. Oh my god, it was disgusting. It
- 31:45was unbelievable. I don't think he'd be able
- 31:50to grab him. I don't think so either. Prime Roy
- 31:54Jones was... Slippery is not the right word,
- 31:59but nobody was fucking grabbing onto him. He
- 32:03was very good at avoiding the clinch. Yeah. Well,
- 32:08he held his hands behind his back all the time,
- 32:11so he didn't have to clench at all. Exactly.
- 32:17I just thought that was interesting for someone
- 32:20who has been as successful as Andre Ward, for
- 32:24him to say. Yeah. But I mean, it's just being
- 32:29honest. It's that little bit of humility. that
- 32:33you wouldn't expect from someone who retired
- 32:35undefeated, who beat a lot of good names, for
- 32:40them to say, I don't think I'd win that fight.
- 32:45But I guess it's easy to pay homage to the legends,
- 32:51or to pay credence to the legends, rather than
- 32:55hyping yourself up even more. To the point of
- 33:02sounding silly enough saying I would beat Roy
- 33:05Jones in his prime. Yeah, I don't think anybody
- 33:09really can say that. Well, that's it for the
- 33:17news stuff. Unless you have anything more for
- 33:21anything that we covered. No, I don't think so.
- 33:25All right. So I'll throw in some notes here.

- 37:28I always love Josh's rants. It's my favorite
- 37:31part of B -Sides. We got dropped from our ramen
- 37:35sponsor. I heard on the last. I'm really fucking
- 37:41miffed about that. I'm looking for another ramen
- 37:46sponsor just to be like, yeah, well, fuck you.
- 37:49We'll get the goddamn noodles. Don't worry about
- 37:53that. They didn't tell you why? No. Maybe you
- 37:59were selling too much. They were giving too many
- 38:01discounts. We weren't doing that well. We were
- 38:06making sales, though. That's what was confusing.
- 38:09We were making sales. I don't know what the problem
- 38:13is. Too many sales. Some recaps. Josh Padley,
- 38:24the electrician in our hearts. Did he drop the
- 38:28ball here? I think he did. Though he may have
- 38:33gotten the nod, I don't think. Those scorecards
- 38:39were fucking madness. Atrocious. Like, maybe
- 38:45he won, but he didn't win every fucking round.
- 38:49Steve Gray, he's often, oftentimes he's a scoring
- 38:55referee, but he scored it 99 to 92. That's fucked.
- 39:02That is unbelievable. And the other two judges,
- 39:0697 -93. I think that's wide, but you could convince
- 39:12me, probably. You could convince me that there
- 39:15were some really close rounds and Padley pulled
- 39:20it out. Maybe. That's what I mean. Yeah, maybe.
- 39:24But, just on its face, 97 -93. absolutely the
- 39:30fuck not yeah i don't know this also it wasn't
- 39:35that exciting of a fight it was just because
- 39:38it was josh padley and he's been the the electrician
- 39:43yeah what did somebody in the chat say like the
- 39:49only guy to get worse when he went full time
- 39:51i remember that yeah that's funny I don't know.
- 40:00I would not tell people to go find this one if
- 40:02they missed it. You didn't miss much. But the
- 40:06scorecards were wider than I would have given.
- 40:13Well, actually, that's a good segue. Speaking
- 40:15of scorecards that are wider than I would have
- 40:18given, David Allen drops the UD to Arslanbek
- 40:23Makhmudov. What? 109, 117, 110, 116, 111, 115.
- 40:35Because Mahmoudov got a point deduction for twice
- 40:41for holding. And it should have been, well, that
- 40:45second point should have been taken earlier,
- 40:47I think. Absolutely. Because he took a point
- 40:51and Mahmoudov didn't stop at all. Like, at all.
- 40:56He should have taken a point earlier. The second
- 40:59point would have come sooner as well. That third
- 41:02point might have been a DQ. Because he was bear
- 41:08-hugging like he had just reunited with his long
- 41:14-lost fucking relatives. Yeah. And he was getting
- 41:17in behind the head as well. I don't... He wasn't
- 41:23hitting him behind the head. I don't want it
- 41:24to sound like that's what I'm saying. But he
- 41:26was, like, grabbing behind his head and, like,
- 41:29pulling him in for a hug. Yeah. It was weird.
- 41:34But Dave Allen did Dave Allen things. Like, he
- 41:38just didn't have enough output either. That's
- 41:42what I was wondering as I was watching. Because,
- 41:45like, the commentary, they were slurping on Makhmudov
- 41:49pretty hard. And I was wondering. Yeah, I thought
- 41:53they were being unfair. Yeah. A bit. And I was
- 41:56wondering, like, it made me think, like, I overcorrected.
- 42:00And I was like, Dave Allen's not doing that bad.
- 42:02Like, what are you talking about? He rocked Mahmoud
- 42:06Ab a couple times. Right. Like, there were a
- 42:09couple times I actually thought the KO was coming.
- 42:13Yes. I believed. I believed in Dave Allen, which
- 42:16is the dumbest shit you could ever do. And I
- 42:20was so sad. British slop, but he's just such
- 42:25a likable guy. I don't know. I got sucked in
- 42:28by the personality. Yeah. It was an interesting
- 42:35way that Josh put it in the rant that he had
- 42:40on Dave Allen was that Dave Allen is like an
- 42:45average Joe that you can relate to. He seems
- 42:51like he's a bit of a scummer because he keeps
- 42:58piss jugs in his bedroom. He does seem to have
- 43:06some mental health shit that happens sometimes.
- 43:09But he also just seems a little bit lazy. He
- 43:13had a... crippling gambling addiction like he
- 43:17has no control over any of his money anymore
- 43:19he gave it all to he didn't give the money but
- 43:21he gave control all to his sister to stop him
- 43:24from gambling it away conservatorship or whatever
- 43:27yeah whatever like yeah his first run he gambled
- 43:32away all his money he was basically fighting
- 43:34for free and he got super depressed and had piss
- 43:38jokes because he's too lazy to walk to the toilet
- 43:43That is, like, that is some crazy work. Too lazy
- 43:50to walk to the toilet. Jesus. But he's in, like,
- 43:55an average show, and he's, like, your local school
- 44:00janitor. But he's just so shitty at his job.
- 44:04He's, like, really terrible at his job. But he's
- 44:08there. But you still love him. You still love
- 44:11him. And he's so bad at his job. You gotta cheer
- 44:14for him. Even though, as a janitor, he smears
- 44:19shit all over the walls. But only sometimes.
- 44:24Sometimes he cleans it really well. He cleans
- 44:26it up nicely, but he still smears shit all over
- 44:31the walls. Yeah, I don't know, man. I was legitimately
- 44:38sad about this one. Yeah. And, like, Makhlodov
- 44:44isn't good, and he seems to have a pretty suspect
- 44:47chin. Like, Dave Allen doesn't have world -ending
- 44:51power, and he was cracking them. I don't know.
- 44:55This was a shit Brit slop, heavyweight, bullshit
- 45:00clinch fest. And the guy I wanted to win lost.
- 45:06This is not a good fight. Bad day. Bad day all
- 45:10around. I woke up fucking early for this, just
- 45:12to be sad. Didn't wake up from that at everyone?
- 45:20I was awake before that. I legitimately set a
- 45:244 a .m. alarm so I could watch Dave Allen. You
- 45:28should be ashamed. I am ashamed. That's possibly
- 45:32worse than having piss jokes. Waking up at 4?
- 45:37In the morning. To watch Dave Allen. To watch
- 45:40Dave Allen. Specifically. Why, of all the fights
- 45:44that you would wake up at four, why this one?
- 45:49I wake up at four for a lot of fights living
- 45:51in Japan. But why this one? Because it's Dave
- 45:54Allen. You gotta cheer for the guy. I feel bad
- 46:02for him. For the school janitor who happens to
- 46:06box. Yeah, like, I don't know. I wanted him to
- 46:11not blow it this time. He almost didn't. Several
- 46:17times. He almost didn't. That is a summary of
- 46:23Dave Allen's whole fucking career. He almost
- 46:26didn't blow it this time. Because he's had like
- 46:31three runs. he keeps fucking getting himself
- 46:35into these positions yeah and then just fucks
- 46:40it up i really i really thought this time i thought
- 46:44this time he was gonna i believe in dave allen
- 46:49as well because arsalan beck makhmudov is hot
- 46:52fucking garbage yeah anyways Yeah, speaking of
- 47:02not hot garbage, the Duran Ennis card. Quickly,
- 47:09Guido Vianello stops Alexi Barillet in the fifth,
- 47:15calls out AJ right afterwards. Oh, so did Makhmudov.
- 47:21Both of them, they called out AJ. Makhmudov had
- 47:25been saying before that if he won, he gets AJ.
- 47:28I think Eddie's been... spreading lies. I can't
- 47:33see AJ fighting Makhmadov. He does need a soft
- 47:37comeback. That would be a soft touch. Knock him
- 47:41out like he did in Ghanu. Speaking of knocking
- 47:49out like in Ghanu, Jaron Ennis ends Uesma Lima
- 47:54in the fucking first. In the first minute and
- 47:58a half. Yeah, besides I said, I need to eat crow,
- 48:07and I need to do it here as well, just because
- 48:11I believed Uesma Lima could provide some semblance
- 48:16of a test. I believed it. I expected it to go
- 48:22a few rounds. Like, I thought Boots was going
- 48:24to win, but I didn't think he'd blow him out
- 48:27like that. Not like that. That was crazy. Yeah.
- 48:37I don't even know what to say, because there's
- 48:39not much to say. Like, go to YouTube and watch
- 48:42the whole fight. It's a minute and a half long.
- 48:45He beats his ass. Yeah. It was difficult. It
- 48:52was... I was trying to defend Boots fighting
- 48:57Lima as Lima being not that bad. But Boots needs
- 49:04to start fighting better people. I can't defend
- 49:08it anymore. The immediate call out was Virgil
- 49:14Ortiz. Do you think that actually happens though?
- 49:19It's possible. I think all of the political logistical
- 49:25stuff is out of the way. It's just a matter of
- 49:29whether or not the promoters want to put their
- 49:31guy on the line, which Eddie Hearn seems ready.
- 49:35Ennis is ready to do it. Because Virgil fights
- 49:42soon, right? Like in a couple weeks? In a couple
- 49:45weeks, he fights Erickson Lubin. Which might...
- 49:51Well, I said it with Lima and was fucking wrong
- 49:54as hell, but Lubin should be a bit of a test.
- 49:57Like, Lubin's not terrible. Lubin has experience,
- 50:02so he can make it grimy if he wanted to. Like,
- 50:07who's Lubin lost to? He lost to Fundora, which
- 50:12is a respectable, and Charlo. He's only lost
- 50:16to the really bad. That was a while ago, though.
- 50:22And he hasn't fought anybody. He robbed Jesus
- 50:27Ramos. So, I'm not going to let that go. That
- 50:37even was a couple years ago, though. Yes. He
- 50:41hasn't been super active. Well, I guess he'll
- 50:44have two fights this year. Active -ish. No fights
- 50:51last year, though. Shaking my head. I don't know.
- 50:59I would like to see Virgil versus Boots. Who
- 51:04wouldn't? I can't see what other fight there
- 51:09is to make at 154. That is the number one versus
- 51:13number two. Who is at 154? The champs are...
- 51:20Murtazaliev has the IBF. Abbas Baru has the WBA.
- 51:26Oh, right. The German guy. Yeah. WBC is Fundora.
- 51:32And WBO is Xander Zayas. Either of those guys
- 51:37beat Xander Zayas. I think. Boots or Tees. Murtazaliev
- 51:47would be... I don't remember even watching Beru.
- 51:51I have no idea who this man is. It's not a whole
- 51:55lot to remember. Somebody said he looks like
- 51:58Terrence Crawford, and they're right. Like, their
- 52:00eyes are the same. And now I can't unsee it.
- 52:06But, like, Myrta is a tough fight for anyone,
- 52:12I think. And Fundora's a tough fight for anyone.
- 52:21Yeah, that's what I was saying. In the immediate
- 52:25aftermath, it was... Just his frame is a challenge
- 52:32for even someone as talented as Jaron Ennis.
- 52:38Well, and Fundora is still improving. Like, he's
- 52:41actually showing improvement between fights.
- 52:45Which... Once you get to the world level, not
- 52:48everybody does. You know what I mean? Yeah, I
- 52:53got you. But, I don't know. Unified Interim is
- 52:58kind of funny, so. Unified Interim? What? Boots
- 53:04is Interim WBA and Virgil's Interim WBC. Oh,
- 53:09shit. Unified Interim. Undisputed interim. Yeah.
- 53:20I find that funny. But I would be surprised if
- 53:27they don't make them fight. I'd be surprised
- 53:31if they don't wait for one of them to get a belt.
- 53:34Which I assume would be Enes. Fighting Beru.
- 53:38Yeah. If Thurman somehow beats Fundora, Virgil
- 53:47would kick Thurman's ass, I think. I don't think
- 53:51that would be very pretty. It would be a colossal
- 53:55beatdown. Might be an injury off on the way to
- 54:00the fight, too. Oh, shit. I still can't believe
- 54:05it's Fundora that caused that delay and not Thurman.
- 54:08That's crazy. But, yeah, I don't know. Boots
- 54:15fucking steamrolled Lima. Boots needs to fight
- 54:18somebody good. Like, somebody I don't need to
- 54:22defend. That being said, if he went for a belt
- 54:30against Beru, I mean, that makes sense too. Yeah,
- 54:33it's the logical step. Yeah. Anything more for
- 54:43Ennis? I don't think so. And last thing on the
- 54:49docket, coming up this week, we have a Queensberry
- 54:54card at the O2 Arena in London. Whole bunch of
- 54:58shit on here that I do not care about, even a
- 55:01little bit. Where's Lynn? Because somebody needs
- 55:07to put this shit into context for me. Jimmy Dean
- 55:11is a fuck of a name. Yep. All one word. Jimmy
- 55:15Dean. All one word, though. It's not Jimmy Dean.
- 55:19It's not James Dean Wood. It's Jimmy Dean. Jimmy
- 55:23Dean. That's such an American name. How is he
- 55:27from Kent? Like, that sounds straight out of
- 55:35Alabama. It does. My boy, Jimmy Dean Wood. Okay.
- 55:42Oh, is your name James? No, it's Jimmy Dean.
- 55:46Yeah, so James Dean. No, Jimmy Dean. Jimmy Dean.
- 55:52I sell sausages. Yeah, I don't recognize any
- 55:58of these. Danny Quartermain? I think I've heard
- 56:00that name. I have not. I might be confusing him
- 56:05with somebody then. Juergen Alden? Doug? Oldadai?
- 56:14Is it an I? No, it's a J, but it's from a place
- 56:18where the J's are Y's. I see. Where's he from?
- 56:26Albania. Anyways. Headlining this card, Joseph
- 56:31Parker versus Fabio Wardley. This one might be
- 56:35fun. I'm surprised Joseph Parker took this fight.
- 56:39He has an interim title. He's in the running
- 56:44for an Usyk fight, and he chose instead to do
- 56:51this against a guy who can absolutely be outboxed,
- 56:57but has proven time and again, you can be outboxing
- 57:02him 10 -0. but he will spark your ass out in
- 57:09the 11th. It's a pretty dangerous fight. I was
- 57:14also a little surprised. I mean, Parker's definitely
- 57:20the better boxer. Of course. And he has a decent
- 57:26chin, but he's been knocked out before. It's
- 57:29by Joe Joyce, I believe. Yeah. Joe Joyce hits...
- 57:35harder than people give him credit for i think
- 57:38harder than fabio wardley no i just mean like
- 57:44i i think parker has a decent chin but it can
- 57:49be cracked and wardley has the power to crack
- 57:52it okay he's just gotta hit him like and this
- 57:58might be a bit of a stinker because parker's
- 58:00gonna have to fight careful Right, he's going
- 58:03to have to outbox, and it's not going to look
- 58:05fun. Yeah. But, I mean, I like Joseph Parker.
- 58:15Again, more for his personality than anything
- 58:18else. But, I don't know. It is a fight of all
- 58:22time. I will watch it. Yeah. The crowd will probably
- 58:26be pretty cool. The O2 arena is always loud.
- 58:31Yeah, I'm sure Fabio Wardley is going to pull
- 58:33the people out. And Joseph Parker. I don't know
- 58:39if he lives in the UK, but I know he trains there
- 58:42a lot. Yeah, I think he still lives in New Zealand.
- 58:49Or his family does. I don't know. I'll probably
- 58:54tune in, but I don't have high hopes for this
- 58:56being super fun. Yeah. I don't either. And it's
- 59:00totally understandable from Joseph Parker's perspective.
- 59:04You're not going to sit there and trade with
- 59:06Fabio Wardley, who does have that one -touch
- 59:10power. Yeah. I mean, I guess if you like heavyweights
- 59:14because they're not my thing, it'll be exciting
- 59:16because you never know if Wardley's going to
- 59:18land that or not. Like, you'll be sitting waiting
- 59:21for it. I will be sitting there waiting for it.
- 59:29Not my thing. I don't want to wait for action.
- 59:35I don't care if people get knocked out. I just
- 59:37want shit happening. 5 ,000 punches in the first
- 59:42round. Yeah. As Damel would say, I like the shiny
- 59:46keys jingling in front of me. That's the type
- 59:52of boxing fan I am. Well, that's it. Anything
- 1:00:02more for Parker or Wardley? No. Alright. What
- 1:00:09the fuck? Mariners just got five runs in the
- 1:00:13ninth. Or the eighth. Grand slam? I don't...
- 1:00:20Well, that's only four, so they got at least...
- 1:00:23They got more than a grand slam. Alright, let
- 1:00:26me do this. Pop quiz, hotshot. What's tiny, fuzzy,
- 1:00:31and responsible for a large portion of the food
- 1:00:33we eat? If you guessed bees, well, you nailed
- 1:00:36it. Seriously, one out of every three bites on
- 1:00:39your plate depends on bees. So there's a bit
- 1:00:42of bad news here. These little heroes of our
- 1:00:44gardens and dinners are struggling. Between habitat
- 1:00:47loss, climate change, and pesticides, it's a
- 1:00:51fucking bummer. Without them, our world would
- 1:00:54look a lot different and it would be a lot less
- 1:00:56delicious. But there is good news. Support for

- 1:02:52I have parting words? Yes. So, if you ever get
- 1:02:56a chance to buy tickets for 1FC, just fucking
- 1:02:59do it. I got an email. I pre -ordered my ticket
- 1:03:04really early for the November one in Tokyo. I
- 1:03:07got an email saying they moved up the start time
- 1:03:10by four hours and the end time has not changed.
- 1:03:14What? It is now... 13 hours. No, no. I sent you
- 1:03:21this after that. But the arena is open for seating
- 1:03:27for 13 hours. Doors open at 10... Not 13 hours.
- 1:03:3310 hours. Doors open at 10am. And usually the
- 1:03:40shit closes at 10pm. Like, I'm usually out of
- 1:03:43the arena by 10pm. So that's nine hours of actual
- 1:03:47fighting. Because fights start at 11. It's crazy.
- 1:03:52I'm gonna have to pack, like, fucking lunch.
- 1:03:56Because the last time when I went to Ryzen, they
- 1:03:59ran out of food. By the time I got through the
- 1:04:03long -ass fucking line to buy food, they're like,
- 1:04:06sorry, we're sold out of food. It's just beer
- 1:04:08now. Which is... theoretically great, but if
- 1:04:13I have to leave my house at 9am to get there
- 1:04:16before the fights start, I gotta eat something
- 1:04:19during the day. Like, I can't just drink for
- 1:04:2212 hours and not cause problems. Not cause problems.
- 1:04:29That's a good caveat. I could drink for 12 hours,
- 1:04:33but it would cause problems. But I'm super excited
- 1:04:37about that, and that email made me more excited.
- 1:04:41Fucking 12 hours of fights, Leo. That is a lot.
- 1:04:46The closest to me is Denver. And that's like
- 1:04:54a 10 -hour drive. Or I'd have to fly. I'm just
- 1:05:00saying, like, it might be worth it. If I could,
- 1:05:03you know, I might. Depending on the card, depending
- 1:05:07on the event, who's on it, I might go. Well,
- 1:05:10so the headline for this one is Super Bon, which
- 1:05:15is exciting as fuck. Or at least to me it's exciting
- 1:05:19as fuck. And Rod Tang's on it too. I've always
- 1:05:24wanted to see Rod Tang. Super Lek is on it. He's
- 1:05:27fighting kickboxing, not Muay Thai, but he should
- 1:05:31still be a fun watch. Super Lek's on it too?
- 1:05:37Yep. Nice. takaru sagawa's on it like okay how
- 1:05:43many this is the main card so like not the other
- 1:05:48stuff one two three four five six 11 12 13 14
- 1:05:5815 16 fights on the main card kickboxing and
- 1:06:04mma and muay thai um Looking at 30 minutes of
- 1:06:10fight. Yeah, I'm just saying. That's a lot of
- 1:06:16fights. That's a lot of stuff. And, like, I don't
- 1:06:21even follow one, really. And I recognize a bunch
- 1:06:25of these names. I'm super excited for it. You're
- 1:06:30following one now. Super like's way down. He
- 1:06:33is. Yeah, but I follow. exclusively watch the
- 1:06:37Friday Night Fights. Like, and I don't know who
- 1:06:42any of those people are. Exciting. Super exciting,
- 1:06:48but no name recognition at all. I guess my parting
- 1:06:57words is I'm fucking excited for 1FC in Tokyo,
- 1:07:00and if it's anywhere near you, you're gonna get
- 1:07:03your money's worth, because I know tickets are
- 1:07:06cheap here, but I'm only paying like a hundred
- 1:07:09bucks Canadian for my ticket. That's like 85,
- 1:07:1580 American. Yeah, it's, it's not much. I am
- 1:07:20in the, I'm in the upper deck this time, but
- 1:07:23still gonna be fun. uh i don't have the only
- 1:07:31parting words i have i'm gonna i'm gonna use
- 1:07:34uh josh's old refrain of pro box good yeah pro
- 1:07:39box is good watch pro box the next pro box card
- 1:07:42is on november 7th god and it it has a couple

- 1:07:57All right. That's it for this edition of Boxing
- 1:08:00Before Dark. My battery is getting low. And it
- 1:08:04is getting dark. All right. See you on the other
- 1:08:08side of Joseph Parker.
