Transcript
- Tony Hughes: Why do we spend so much money on the ground army? You know, we, I think we learned our lesson Iraq for sure. You know, the, our occupation of Iraq was a total disaster. I mean, and, and we just made a lot of mistakes going in, made a mistake by going in the first place. But even then we were there, we, we, we achieved a great military victory, but it was the occupation of Iraq that Jonathan Cole: Mm-hmm. Tony Hughes: everything fell apart, but you had to have an army to occupy Iraq. And you didn't have to have an army just to defeat Iraq militarily. So I won't ⁓ the question rhetorically. Why do we spend hundreds of billions of dollars on a ground army if we're not going to use it? Because I just can't envision, I mean, are we going to take our army and invade China? Jonathan Cole: Yep. Tony Hughes: We're going our army across the Pacific Ocean and invade China? No. Are we going to invade North Korea? Are we going to invade Iran? Well, I guess we'll see. Jonathan Cole: We are not. No.
