- 2:01Speaker 1: My Show Upscale magazine named him one of the top
- 2:04Speaker 1: fifty power brokers in Black America, and Black Enterprise magazine
- 2:08Speaker 1: called him Black Black America's number one networker and featured
- 2:12Speaker 1: him on its cover. Please welcome to Money Making Conversations,
- 2:16Speaker 1: the chairman and CEO of Frasier Net, Dr George C.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Frasier Rashan, And it's so good to hear your voice,
- 2:24Speaker 1: my brother, Oh my God, and God bless you for
- 2:27Speaker 1: the work that you're doing. The radio program is outstanding.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Its gangster that's what it really is, Black exceptionalism. And
- 2:35Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean that from my heart. I
- 2:37Speaker 1: love you. Keep doing God's work. You are really adding
- 2:41Speaker 1: tremendous value to the lives of our people. Man. So
- 2:44Speaker 1: it's an honor to be on your show this morning.
- 2:46Speaker 1: I'm just tickled big. I'll be honest with you. Well, George,
- 2:51Speaker 1: I want to say thank you for that. And that's why.
- 2:53Speaker 1: First of all, your your parents on my show is
- 2:55Speaker 1: long overdue because I've been fan and uh I met
- 2:58Speaker 1: you several years ago. Steve are an out day an
- 3:00Speaker 1: event with you in Ohio and uh, but but your
- 3:05Speaker 1: your your pioneer and UH when you're a pioneer in
- 3:09Speaker 1: something that means that a lot of people tell you
- 3:12Speaker 1: that's not a good idea. Why are you doing trying
- 3:14Speaker 1: to do that? How did you overcome negative spirits? That's
- 3:18Speaker 1: why I have to call negative spirits um uh just
- 3:23Speaker 1: to be candidate and and and succinct. Uh. Fundamentally, UM,
- 3:28Speaker 1: I ignored them. I ignored them. UM. I know that
- 3:32Speaker 1: God has a plan for me. I know that there
- 3:34Speaker 1: are obstacles that I will have to overcome uh to
- 3:37Speaker 1: fulfill the plan that God has for me. Uh. And
- 3:41Speaker 1: one of the obstacles is overcoming negativity and overcoming what
- 3:45Speaker 1: people tell you can or cannot do, uh, and understanding
- 3:48Speaker 1: that it's not how you start, that's how you finished.
- 3:50Speaker 1: In spite of the fact that I grew up in
- 3:53Speaker 1: an orphanages and foster care and mop floors on the
- 3:56Speaker 1: midnight ship at La Guardia Airport for three years of
- 3:58Speaker 1: my life to learn humility, UM, I knew that that
- 4:03Speaker 1: that was not my life, that it was just lessons
- 4:06Speaker 1: that I needed to learn. So so it's a lot
- 4:09Speaker 1: of self talk. We have to talk to ourselves positively.
- 4:13Speaker 1: We have to tell the mind what we want, not
- 4:16Speaker 1: what other people want for us. Um, and I mean
- 4:19Speaker 1: that in a loving and giving way, because there are
- 4:22Speaker 1: people that come into our lives and are mentors, that
- 4:24Speaker 1: are coaches, that are elders that we must listen to
- 4:28Speaker 1: and give us guidance. But fundamentally, UH, mentors, coaches and
- 4:32Speaker 1: elders do not speak negatively. They speak positively and powerfully,
- 4:36Speaker 1: like Steve Harvey does, like you do, like people that
- 4:40Speaker 1: you have around encircled your life. So that's how I
- 4:43Speaker 1: do it. I mean, it's no more complicated than that.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Listen to God, listen to yourself. God is constantly talking
- 4:49Speaker 1: to you, telling you exactly what to do, except most
- 4:52Speaker 1: people choose not to listen. Listen because God is telling
- 4:55Speaker 1: us to change, to listen, to grow intellectually, to read
- 4:59Speaker 1: uh and to be uh, you know, curious, mentally curious.
- 5:02Speaker 1: We are mentally lazy people too, many of us. We're
- 5:05Speaker 1: not intellectually curious. So God is telling us exactly what
- 5:09Speaker 1: to do every minute of every day. Um, But we
- 5:12Speaker 1: choose not to listen because we don't want to change.
- 5:14Speaker 1: It's just easier sitting on a couch drinking of being
- 5:17Speaker 1: watching television. So you must avoid that. We must man up,
- 5:21Speaker 1: we must women up. We must demonstrate the gangsterism in
- 5:25Speaker 1: black people. And I'm redefining gangster rashan to me black exceptionalism,
- 5:30Speaker 1: black exceptionalism, not the thug life, but black exceptional with
- 5:34Speaker 1: Steve Harvey is gangster. You are gangster rashan. You've been
- 5:38Speaker 1: gangster ever since I've been knowing you. I mean, I
- 5:40Speaker 1: mean when you when you look at what Steve Harvey
- 5:43Speaker 1: has done. And I know Steve Harvey right, I've been
- 5:46Speaker 1: in Cleveland for fifty two years. My partner Greg Williams,
- 5:49Speaker 1: my late partner, Greg Williams, and I had a nightclub
- 5:52Speaker 1: and Steve Harvey was one of the first comedians we
- 5:55Speaker 1: hired for our nightclub back in the early eighties. When
- 5:58Speaker 1: lo what Steve Harvey has done with the proper management,
- 6:01Speaker 1: the proper input, the proper people around you. Uh, he's
- 6:05Speaker 1: one of my heroes. I mean when he really is,
- 6:08Speaker 1: he is one of my heroes. Uh. And so he
- 6:12Speaker 1: and I know that Steve Harvey, with the help of you,
- 6:15Speaker 1: has overcome all kinds of men. You can't do that,
- 6:18Speaker 1: all kinds of negativity. Well, that's that's how it works,
- 6:22Speaker 1: you know, because you have to surround yourself with the
- 6:24Speaker 1: right people and then visions and uh and and with
- 6:28Speaker 1: Steve and I us to sitting down all the time,
- 6:30Speaker 1: and he go, you really think I can do that?
- 6:32Speaker 1: And because I always felt that he could cross over.
- 6:34Speaker 1: I always felt that his talent or his his his
- 6:37Speaker 1: form of entertainment could be relatable to anybody. And he
- 6:41Speaker 1: was a hard worker. And I feel that when when
- 6:43Speaker 1: you talk about God, you talk about a lot of
- 6:46Speaker 1: people want to listen. It's always time to how much
- 6:48Speaker 1: effort you want to do because the goal and opportunity
- 6:51Speaker 1: for you to succeed is there, and you've been doing
- 6:54Speaker 1: this all your life. What is the next step in
- 6:56Speaker 1: your business journey? That's right, that's right, because you know,
- 7:00Speaker 1: we live in America. This is the greatest country in
- 7:02Speaker 1: the world. In every place to black people have been
- 7:04Speaker 1: dispersed South Africa, Central Africa, East Africa, West Africa, North Africa,
- 7:07Speaker 1: all over South America and all over the Caribbean. There
- 7:10Speaker 1: are no black people in the entire world doing better
- 7:12Speaker 1: than we are. So there is unlimited opportunity in this
- 7:16Speaker 1: country in spite of the racism in this country. And
- 7:18Speaker 1: we still live in a racist country, make no mistake
- 7:21Speaker 1: about that. So opportunity is not lacking in America. Um,
- 7:26Speaker 1: what what is lacking among black people is capacity building,
- 7:30Speaker 1: the capacity having the positive mental attitude to take advantage
- 7:34Speaker 1: of the tremendous opportunities that are everywhere. Steve saw it,
- 7:39Speaker 1: You saw it, I saw it, and I can list
- 7:41Speaker 1: for you thousands of brothers and sisters, in spite of
- 7:45Speaker 1: their circumstances, in spite of the isms of America, have
- 7:49Speaker 1: succeeded at the highest levels in this country. And it's
- 7:51Speaker 1: important that you say that, because, first of all, one
- 7:54Speaker 1: has the mid day is a problem. But don't allow
- 7:57Speaker 1: the problem to win. Okay, don't let your to color
- 8:00Speaker 1: your skin to become a negative. And I've always said that.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I said to my daughter, I said to anybody who
- 8:05Speaker 1: walks up to me. I always tell people there in life,
- 8:07Speaker 1: if you're trying to be in the decision making position,
- 8:09Speaker 1: nobody makes a decision. Nobody looks behind them to make
- 8:13Speaker 1: a decision. They always look at your forward, they look
- 8:15Speaker 1: left and right. So your your your job is to
- 8:18Speaker 1: be in the sight range. You know, if you are
- 8:21Speaker 1: looking behind yourself saying hey, I'm back here trying to
- 8:24Speaker 1: make a decision, that's too much effort to go. What
- 8:26Speaker 1: you're doing back there, they're gonna look forward, they're gonna
- 8:29Speaker 1: look left, or they're gonna look right now. If you're
- 8:32Speaker 1: not positioning yourself to be in that sightline, don't claim racism.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Don't claim racis there you go if you if you
- 8:38Speaker 1: ever flew any place right, if you ever got in
- 8:40Speaker 1: a jet plane with the pilot, you notice that there
- 8:42Speaker 1: are no rear view mirrors on a jet plane. They're
- 8:45Speaker 1: going forward, man, they're going forward a six D an hour.
- 8:48Speaker 1: They're not looking backward. They're going forward. So that's a
- 8:51Speaker 1: profound point and a profound insight. And I hope you're
- 8:54Speaker 1: listening audience takes that to heart, because that's exactly I
- 8:57Speaker 1: look forward. I didn't care about the negative step. The
- 9:00Speaker 1: care about it. You didn't care about it. We were
- 9:02Speaker 1: looking forward, and we were pressing the metal to putting
- 9:06Speaker 1: the metal to the pedal. Hello, Hello, we're gonna be
- 9:09Speaker 1: right back. Don't don't go nowhere, don't go We're gonna
- 9:11Speaker 1: be right back to more. Dr George C. Fraser Frasier,
- 9:13Speaker 1: net Um, I love this guy. I'm back money making conversation.
- 9:18Speaker 1: DC Frasier. You know I needed to have sponsors, man,
- 9:23Speaker 1: not as sponsores are line enough to be on my show.
- 9:26Speaker 1: That's that's success, that isn't it. That's why. That's when
- 9:28Speaker 1: you know you you're you're delivering something that people want. Yeah, yeah, no, no, no,
- 9:33Speaker 1: this is the content for the first century Rashan. This
- 9:36Speaker 1: is ultimately what I think certainly black radio is going
- 9:40Speaker 1: to morph into because we need all the inspiration, all
- 9:44Speaker 1: the motivation, all the ideas necessary to take out people
- 9:49Speaker 1: to the next level. So I want to say the
- 9:50Speaker 1: next thing and still be loved by all people who
- 9:53Speaker 1: are listening. White folks will not be saving black people. Okay,
- 9:56Speaker 1: I'm sorry, right, I'm sorry. I mean it's still four years.
- 10:00Speaker 1: We ain't saved. And I'm not hating on white people.
- 10:03Speaker 1: White people are not even thinking about us in any
- 10:05Speaker 1: significant way. Who are they thinking about. They're thinking about
- 10:08Speaker 1: white people. They're thinking about their husbands, their wives, their children,
- 10:11Speaker 1: their neighborhoods, their schools, and their businesses. That's what they're
- 10:14Speaker 1: thinking about. And you cannot hurt you cannot hate on them.
- 10:17Speaker 1: That's the same thing Asians are thinking about. If you
- 10:20Speaker 1: go into a Chinese restaurant in a black in a
- 10:22Speaker 1: black neighborhood and their four brothers waiting on you. That's
- 10:25Speaker 1: a lead. That's not a real Chinese restaurant because Chinese
- 10:27Speaker 1: people don't own higher black people. They hire Asians. That's
- 10:30Speaker 1: who they hires. Stereotype, stereotype. Dr Fraser is that's a
- 10:36Speaker 1: stereotype that he's about. Who hires who who are? That's reality,
- 10:43Speaker 1: my brother, that's reality. That's what should be reality. We
- 10:46Speaker 1: should be starting and building businesses and hiring our own. First.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I didn't say only, I just said first, okay, uh
- 10:53Speaker 1: and and that comes. I'm a race man, I have
- 10:55Speaker 1: seventy three years old, i am an elder. I've been
- 10:58Speaker 1: serving black people for four he is and and and
- 11:01Speaker 1: as a race man, I've made a commitment to put
- 11:04Speaker 1: my time, talent, and treasure into the investment and upliftment
- 11:08Speaker 1: of black people. First, I didn't say only, I just
- 11:10Speaker 1: said first, So we must take care of our own.
- 11:15Speaker 1: We must save our people. The menication what imagined is
- 11:20Speaker 1: because that's the problem that you have with economics. You know.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I always tell people that if everybody's educated, everybody's getting
- 11:26Speaker 1: the same opportunity, then we all win, you know, because
- 11:30Speaker 1: if you if you but what happens is and you know,
- 11:32Speaker 1: black communities. You know, their their moves because because they
- 11:36Speaker 1: want to increase property value, then it becomes you know, people,
- 11:40Speaker 1: they moved the blacks out and the whites come in.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Property goes out. Gentrification, gentification, you know that's the fancy word.
- 11:46Speaker 1: But again, I want that same opportunity. And I think
- 11:50Speaker 1: that when I come, I come from fill Forward, I
- 11:52Speaker 1: come from the inner city. I come from My father
- 11:54Speaker 1: was a truck driver, my mom was a finished high school.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I have six sisters, two brothers, so you know, came
- 12:00Speaker 1: from an environment that I'm supposed to fail. And so
- 12:03Speaker 1: all you're saying is that in your conversation, which I love,
- 12:07Speaker 1: is that Rishan, there should not be an excuses. You
- 12:10Speaker 1: should have the same values and the same opportunities. But
- 12:13Speaker 1: do we not as a people allow us allow reasons
- 12:17Speaker 1: are excuses to stop us from being successful. Oh there
- 12:21Speaker 1: is no question about that. And We're going to spend
- 12:25Speaker 1: the rest of our lives, Rashan, helping our people to
- 12:28Speaker 1: overcome this kind of attitude. I mean, we have some
- 12:31Speaker 1: badass habits and excuse the French uh in our community,
- 12:35Speaker 1: and and for seventy three years I've been working on
- 12:37Speaker 1: changing those habits I've been putting on a conference called
- 12:40Speaker 1: the Power Networking Conference for eighteen years to work on
- 12:43Speaker 1: those habits. What are those habits? A lack of follow
- 12:46Speaker 1: up and follow through. We are in a state of denial.
- 12:49Speaker 1: There's the absence of the black man in the home.
- 12:51Speaker 1: There's no question about that. Um. Black men are consumers
- 12:54Speaker 1: of our women right and black women need to ask
- 12:57Speaker 1: the question of black men. Am I your friend? Am
- 12:59Speaker 1: I your freak? I am I? Forever? We have to.
- 13:01Speaker 1: We have to get a get away from the avoidance
- 13:04Speaker 1: of hard choices when it comes to spending and wealth.
- 13:07Speaker 1: We watch seventy two hours of television a week, according
- 13:10Speaker 1: to the a C. Nielsen Report, as ten hours a day.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Any brother or a sister watching ten hours of television
- 13:15Speaker 1: a day, and he's there behind kick. We're always late,
- 13:18Speaker 1: and too many of us are intellectually or mentally lazy.
- 13:21Speaker 1: We procrastinate, and we there's an unwillingness in our culture
- 13:25Speaker 1: to consciously make plan sacrifices, which is what entrepreneurship is
- 13:30Speaker 1: all about. And we have a lack of understanding of
- 13:33Speaker 1: effective networking and collaboration and cooperation. Understanding the cooperation means
- 13:38Speaker 1: one and one makes two. But collaboration, strategic alliances, joined
- 13:42Speaker 1: ventures and partners. Collaboration one and one makes leven. So
- 13:45Speaker 1: these are the things that we must work on. We
- 13:48Speaker 1: can work on it. We have enough enough intellectual capital.
- 13:51Speaker 1: We have enough powerful and positive people like yourself, like
- 13:54Speaker 1: Steve and others to help us make this change. Now
- 13:58Speaker 1: I have come to the following conclusion. All right, after
- 14:01Speaker 1: seventy three years and forty years of service to our people,
- 14:04Speaker 1: I am an elder, and here is the conclusion that
- 14:07Speaker 1: I've come to as I get ready to launch Fraser Nation,
- 14:11Speaker 1: citizens of generational wealth, that we cannot be all things
- 14:14Speaker 1: to all people. That many of our people value different things,
- 14:17Speaker 1: they embrace alternate beliefs, or they simply are not ready
- 14:20Speaker 1: for a major transformation at this time. But those who
- 14:25Speaker 1: are must focus our time, talent, and treasure and future
- 14:31Speaker 1: on those who value, believe and see it as we
- 14:34Speaker 1: see it, who embrace our mission and possess the discipline
- 14:37Speaker 1: to work for the results that we want to be
- 14:39Speaker 1: a citizen of Fraser Nation. So to that end, to
- 14:44Speaker 1: that end, as we launch Fraser Nation next year at
- 14:47Speaker 1: the Power Networking Conference, we are making a personal commitment
- 14:51Speaker 1: to demonstrate it excellence, equity and investment and entrepreneurial thinking.
- 14:55Speaker 1: And we're going to redefine gangs to to mean black exceptionalism,
- 14:59Speaker 1: so to that, and I am adapting and this is
- 15:01Speaker 1: my closed links thought on this. I'm adapting what I
- 15:04Speaker 1: call the forty one formula, and I want to say
- 15:08Speaker 1: this will still be loved the one formula. Eighty five
- 15:12Speaker 1: percent of Black folks are sleep walking through life, ten
- 15:15Speaker 1: percent or pimping the sleep walkers, four percent have freed
- 15:17Speaker 1: themselves from that dark, sunken place and are searching for
- 15:20Speaker 1: the light. And one percent are the light and have
- 15:23Speaker 1: come to enlighten the four percent who are ready to
- 15:26Speaker 1: get woke, that's about two and a half million Black
- 15:29Speaker 1: people who are ready. I'm focusing focusing my time talent
- 15:32Speaker 1: on treasure and investing and uplifting to the next level.
- 15:36Speaker 1: That two and a half million who are ready, who
- 15:39Speaker 1: are ready. They listen to your show, they read books,
- 15:44Speaker 1: they are inspired by ideas. They're entrepreneurial thinkers. Entrepreneurial thinking
- 15:50Speaker 1: is different than entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurial thinking Rashwan leads to entrepreneurial entrepreneurship.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Entrepreneurial thinking says, I take responsibility. I take risk, and
- 15:59Speaker 1: I take ownership and all things in my life, and
- 16:03Speaker 1: then I will find a way to convert them and
- 16:06Speaker 1: to monetize what people call problems, but entrepreneurship, entrepreneurs see
- 16:11Speaker 1: them as major opportunities. I will find a way to monetize, uh,
- 16:16Speaker 1: the challenges and opportunities in our culture to build businesses
- 16:20Speaker 1: and to employ our people. That's how I see it.
- 16:23Speaker 1: That's how I'm throwing the gauntlet down, and and and
- 16:26Speaker 1: and and I invite all those who are listening to
- 16:29Speaker 1: join me in that visions is So you said the
- 16:33Speaker 1: Power Cropference large day. Do you have any dates and
- 16:36Speaker 1: when it? Where's the conference? Yes, the conferences in Houston, Texas.
- 16:40Speaker 1: It is uh next June, June down there because Houston, Texas,
- 16:45Speaker 1: that's my hometown. That's my hometown. There we go. Houston
- 16:49Speaker 1: has the fifth or sixth largest black population in America,
- 16:52Speaker 1: about six hundred thousand African Americans. Plus they're fifty thousand
- 16:56Speaker 1: Nigerians who have migrated to Houston because of it's the
- 17:00Speaker 1: oil center of the United States as Nigeria as I
- 17:03Speaker 1: think one of the fourth or fifth largest oil reserves
- 17:06Speaker 1: in the world. So that's who we're gonna be. If
- 17:08Speaker 1: you want to know more about the Power Networking Conference
- 17:10Speaker 1: next year, just go to www dot Power Networking Conference
- 17:14Speaker 1: dot com. That's ww dot Power Networking Conference dot com.
- 17:17Speaker 1: And also send me avantage, send a banner, SENI a
- 17:20Speaker 1: banders I put on my social media. So let's start
- 17:22Speaker 1: the word about Okay, I will, I will, I will,
- 17:24Speaker 1: And I want you there, I want you there. I'm there,
- 17:26Speaker 1: I'm there, I'm there, I'm there. That's my hometown. I
