I am thinking today of a verse in the book of Joshua. It's been a while since I've been in Joshua.

And I preached through the whole thing a couple years ago, and I remember this verse very passionately from that time.

Joshua 18.3 says,

So Joshua said to the sons of Israel, How long will you put off entering to take possession of the land which the Lord, the God your fathers, has given you?

Now this question for them of course was a literal one, but it speaks volumes figuratively as well.

It's time to be moving in the direction that God has laid out for us.

We must do what God has ordained and take our rightful place as sowers and harvesters, as representatives of the Lord in whatever way.

In my case, in our case, the Lord has blessed so much, how dare I, how could I possibly not want to do everything I can to live for Jesus?

We must be found faithful. Living for Jesus often requires simple, faithful obedience.

The world does everything it can to throw up temptations and tribulations and distractions to keep you from moving forward in the Lord.

And there is a teaching that stands against what the Bible says.

We are a people of the book. We are a people who follow Jesus. We are a people who have a living Lord who is with us daily.

And how long will we put off entering in to take possession of the land which the Lord has given us?
